A crying shame: Sexual harassment charges by medal winning wrestlers
The Sports Ministry on Thursday sought a response from Wrestling Federation of India within the next 72 hours on ‘sexual harassment’ allegations levelled by female wrestlers against the Wrestling Federation of India president and some coaches.
This followed a meeting between the protesting wrestlers and senior ministry officials. However, the wrestlers said they would continue with their sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar, Delhi, on Friday since they are not satisfied with assurances.
Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist Bajrang Punia said, “there has been no concrete action so far, we have only got assurances. There are five to six female athletes who have proof about sexual harassment”. Punia demanded the resignation and arrest of WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
India’s leading women wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik have already levelled allegations about BJP MP and WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh “sexually exploiting” several women grapplers at national camps for years.
These allegations have rocked Indian sports and have brought a bad name for sports administrators. Vinesh Phogat has won the World Championship title twice and has won gold at Commonwealth Games thrice. She alleged that Singh gave her death threats through some influential WFI office-bearers. The protest began on Wednesday when Vinesh Phogat along with Olympics bronze medal winner Sakshi Malik and Tokyo Olympics medalist Bajrang Punia sat on dharna at Jantar Mantar, and continued their sit-in on Thursday.
Think about the biting cold weather in which our famous wrestlers had to sit under open sky to protest against sexual harassment of women grapplers. The allegations are indeed astounding. It is a matter of serious concern for all sports lovers in India.
Bajrang Punia has alleged that an atmosphere of dictatorship is going on inside WFI, selection rules are being framed arbitrarily, and wrestlers who have won medals for India are not being given coaches. Sakshi Malik alleged that WFI coaching camps are deliberately held in Lucknow because the WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is the Lok Sabha MP from Kaiserganj near Lucknow. She alleged that female wrestlers were forced to meet Singh, and those who opposed were given death threats.
Normally players do not get themselves involved in politics, nor do they sit on dharna, but the sight of gold and bronze medal winning wrestlers sitting in protest was a sorry spectacle.
WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who rushed from Barabanki to Delhi on Wednesday, said that he was innocent and he was ready to face death punishment if the sexual exploitation charges are proved. He sent WFI secretary Vinod Tomar to speak to the wrestlers, but the latter refused to talk to him.
Singh alleged that a top industrialist was behind this protest by wrestlers in Delhi. He said, the wrestlers have not yet come forward with any concrete proof to substantiate their allegations. Singh refused to resign and said he was ready to face a CBI probe into all allegations.
It is a shame that the president of a federation has to face sexual exploitation allegations from his players, particularly from those who brought glory to India from the wrestling ring.
Remember, it was because of these wrestlers that India won 12 medals in wrestling at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. It was because of these wrestlers that India won two medals at 2020 Tokyo Olympics. One of these medals was won by Bajrang Punia. Because of these players, India has won seven medals in Olympic history till now. If such renowned wrestlers have to sit on dharna, there can be nothing more shameful.
मुसलमानों तक मोदी की पहुंच 2024 में गेमचेंजर साबित होगी
अगले साल होने वाले लोकसभा चुनावों में जीत की हैट्रिक के अपने लक्ष्य को हासिल करने के लिए प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने मंगलवार को अपनी पार्टी के कार्यकर्ताओं को मुसलमानों, ईसाइयों और अन्य अल्पसंख्यकों से संवाद करने और यह सुनिश्चित करने का आह्वान किया कि कल्याणकारी योजनाओं का लाभ हाशिये पर पड़े समुदायों के हर घर तक पहुंचे।
बीजेपी की राष्ट्रीय कार्यकारिणी को संबोधित करते हुए मोदी ने पार्टी कार्यकर्ताओं से कहा कि वे आत्मसंतुष्टि और अतिआत्मविश्वास से बचें। उन्होंने कार्यकर्ताओं को बताया कि कैसे वे पूरे देश में अल्पसंख्यकों, और खासतौर से मुसलमानों के साथ संवाद शुरू करें।
मोदी ने कहा, ‘हमें रविवार को सामूहिक सभाओं के दौरान चर्च जाकर संवाद करना चाहिए। इसी तरह हमें सिख समुदाय तक पहुंचना चाहिए। अयोध्या में राम मंदिर बनाने का हमारा उद्देश्य पूरा हो गया है, लेकिन हमें यह भी आत्मनिरीक्षण करने की आवश्यकता है कि क्या हम संत रविदास और महर्षि वाल्मीकि के मंदिरों में गए हैं? हमें रविदास जयंती और वाल्मीकि जयंती मनानी चाहिए और हाशिये पर खड़े समुदायों और दलितों के साथ मजबूत रिश्ता बनाना चाहिए। हमें पसमांदा मुसलमानों (दलित और पिछड़े मुसलमानों), बोहरा समुदाय, मुस्लिम प्रोफेशनल्स और पढ़े-लिखे मुसलमानों से मिलना चाहिए और उन्हें हमारे कल्याणकारी कामों के बारे में बताना चाहिए।’
मोदी ने मुसलमानों के साथ ‘भरोसे का रिश्ता’ बनाने पर भी बात की। उन्होंने कहा, बीजेपी के कार्यकर्ताओं को उन मुसलमानों को लेकर परेशान नहीं होना चाहिए जो आम तौर पर पार्टी को नहीं देते और उन्होंने कई राज्यों में पसमांदा मुसलमानों तक पार्टी की पहुंच की मिसाल दी। प्रधानमंत्री ने अपनी पार्टी के लोगों को मुस्लिम समुदाय के बारे में ऐसी गैरजरूरी बयानबाजी से बचने की सलाह दी, जिससे समाज में दूरियां बढ़ती हों।
जैसा कि माना जा रहा था, राष्ट्रीय कार्यकारिणी ने वर्तमान पार्टी अध्यक्ष जे. पी. नड्डा का कार्यकाल जून 2024 तक बढ़ा दिया। गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने कहा, ‘प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के नेतृत्व और जे. पी. नड्डा के संगठनात्मक नेतृत्व में, बीजेपी 2024 से भी बड़ी जीत हासिल करेगी और मोदी जी एक बार फिर प्रधानमंत्री होंगे।’
यह पहली बार नहीं है जब मोदी ने मुसलामनों के पास जाने और बेवजह विवादित बयानों से बचने का निर्देश दिया है। मोदी यह बात 2014 से कहते आ रहे हैं। ‘आप की अदालत’ में उन्होंने कहा था कि वह चाहते हैं कि मुसलमानों के एक हाथ में अगर कुरान है तो दूसरे हाथ में कंप्यूटर हो। मोदी ‘एक भारत, श्रेष्ठ भारत’ और ‘सबका साथ, सबका विकास, सबका विश्वास’ की बात हमेशा कहते रहे हैं। उन्होंने गोहत्या के खिलाफ लिंचिंग करने वालों को भी अपराधी बताया था। तीन तलाक और हलाला जैसी परंपराओं के खिलाफ उठाए गए कदमों से मोदी को मुस्लिम महिलाओं का समर्थन मिला है।
मोदी ने जिस तरह से अपनी पार्टी के कार्यकर्ताओं को मुसलमानों के मन में बीजेपी के प्रति बैठाए गए शक को दूर करने की बात की है, उससे यह साफ है कि प्रधानमंत्री अब मुसलमानों को भरोसा दिलाना चाहते हैं कि बीजेपी उनके खिलाफ नहीं है। यह काम आसान नहीं है लेकिन अगर बीजेपी इसमें थोड़ी बहुत भी कामयाब हो पाई तो यह अगले लोकसभा चुनावों में गेंमचेंजर साबित होगा।
विपक्ष, और खास तौर पर राहुल गांधी लगातार कहते रहे हैं कि जनता में बीजेपी के खिलाफ नाराजगी है, और उसे इसका नुकसान होगा। कांग्रेस के नेता कह रहे हैं कि बीजेपी को भी जनता की नाराजगी का एहसास है, इसलिए अब मोदी मुसलमानों के दिल जीतने की बात कह रहे हैं।
वहीं, बीजेपी को मोदी की योजनाओं पर यकीन है। बीजेपी का कहना है कि मोदी ने सबको घर दिए, हर घर में नल का कनेक्शन दिया, हर गांव में इंटरनेट पहुंचाया, हर गांव तक सड़क पहुंचाई, 81 करोड़ लोगों को मुफ्त राशन दिया, 22 लाख करोड़ रुपये डायरेक्ट बेनिफिट ट्रांसफर के जरिए लोगों के अकाउंट्स में पहुंचाए, कोरोना महामारी के दौरान वैक्सीन की 223 करोड़ डोज देश भर में लोगों को लगाई गई, और यह सब काम बगैर जाति-धर्म को देखे किया गया। इन सब कामों में हिंदुओं और मुसलमानों में कोई भेद नहीं किया गया और योजनाओं का फायदा सबको मिला।
बीजेपी के नेताओं और कार्यकर्ताओं को पूरा यकीन है कि मोदी को सभी धर्मों और जातियों के लाभार्थियों से प्यार और स्नेह मिला है, और यह सकारात्मक दृष्टिकोण पार्टी को अगले लोकसभा चुनावों में भरपूर फायदा दिलाने में मदद कर सकता है।
2024 gamechanger: Modi’s outreach towards Muslims
In his aim to achieve a hat-trick in Lok Sabha elections, due next year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday gave a clarion call to his party men to reach out to Muslims, Christians and other minorities and ensure that the benefits of welfare reach every household among the marginalized communities.
Addressing the BJP national executive, Modi cautioned party workers about any sense of complacency or overconfidence, and then spoke about how to begin a nationwide outreach towards minorities, particularly Muslims.
Modi said, “We should be in front of a church on Sunday when mass gatherings take place. Similarly, we should reach out to the Sikh community. Our objective to build the Ram temple in Ayodhya has been achieved, but we also need to introspect whether we have been to the temples built for Sant Ravidas and Mahrashi Valmiki? We should celebrate Ravidas Jayanti and Valmiki Jayantiand developed strong bonding with the marginalised and downtrodden communities. We should meet Pasmanda Muslims (Dalit and Backward Muslims), Bohra community, Muslim professionals and educated Muslims and tell them about the welfare work that we have done.”
Modi spoke about ‘Bharose Ka Rishta’ (a relationship of trust) with the Muslims. He said, BJP workers should not be worried about those Muslims who are normally unwilling to vote for the party and gave the example of the party’s outreach towards Pasmanda Muslims in several states. The Prime Minister advised his party men to avoid making unnecessary remarks about Muslim community that could result in a communal divide.
The national executive, as expected, extended the tenure of the present party president J P Nadda till June, 2024, with Home Minister Amit Shah saying, “under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and organizational leadership of J P Nadda, BJP will win with a bigger margin in 2024 and Modi Ji will be the Prime Minister once again.”
This is not the first time that Modi has spoken about an outreach towards minorities and the need to refrain from making unnecessary remarks about Muslims. During 2014 Lok Sabha elections, I remember Modi saying in ‘Aap Ki Adalat’, that I want to see the day when Muslim youths will be holding the holy Quran in one hand, and a computer in another. Modi had been speaking about ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshta Bharat’ and ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Vikas’. He had described those engaged in mob lynching as criminals. He brought laws to end ‘triple talaq’ and ‘halala’ traditions, which were welcomed by Muslim women in particular.
The manner in which Prime Minister Modi spoke about removing misgivings from the minds of Muslims about BJP clearly indicates that this is achievable, though it may not be an easy work. If the party gets even partial success in this endeavor, it could prove to be a gamechanger in the next Lok Sabha elections.
The opposition, in particular Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, had been saying ad nauseum that there is ‘anger’ among the people towards BJP, and that Modi’s call for an outreach towards Muslims could be a deceptive move.
The fact is that Modi and his party has given houses to the poor, provided taps for drinking water, connected every village with roads and internet, distributed free foodgrains to nearly 81 crore people, transferred Rs 22 lakh crore through direct benefit transfer, ensured that 223 Covid vaccination doses were given during the pandemic: all irrespective of religion and caste. No differentiation was made between Hindus and Muslims while providing these public welfare benefits.
BJP leaders and workers are confident about the love and affection that Modi has received from beneficiaries from all religions and castes, and this positive outlook can help the party in reaping rich dividends in the next Lok Sabha elections.
कांग्रेस और बीजेपी : नेतृत्व में बड़ा अंतर
2024 के लोकसभा चुनाव से पहले देश के दो प्रमुख सियासी दल बीजेपी और कांग्रेस ने अपनी-अपनी ताकत दिखानी शुरू कर दी है। कभी रोड शो तो कभी रणनीतिक बैठकों के आयोजन का सिलसिला शुरू हो चुका है। सोमवार को दिल्ली में बीजेपी की राष्ट्रीय कार्यकारिणी की बैठक शुरू हुई साथ ही पीएम मोदी ने छोटा सा रोड शो भी किया। उधर, पंजाब में राहुल गांधी की ‘भारत जोड़ो यात्रा’ जारी है। बीजेपी राष्ट्रीय कार्यकारिणी की बैठक में पार्टी अध्यक्ष जेपी नड्डा ने अगले डेढ़ साल में होने वाले सभी चुनावों को जीतने का लक्ष्य सामने रखा। उन्होंने कहा कि 2023 पार्टी के लिए अहम वर्ष है क्योंकि 9 राज्यों में चुनाव होनेवाले हैं। राष्ट्रीय कार्यकारिणी में करीब साढ़े तीन सौ सदस्य होते हैं। इनमें 50 स्थायी आमंत्रित सदस्य और 179 विशेष आमंत्रित सदस्य होते हैं। विशेष आमंत्रित सदस्यों में 35 केन्द्रीय मंत्री, 12 मुख्यमंत्री, विभिन्न राज्यों में पार्टी के विपक्ष के नेता, प्रदेश अध्यक्ष और तमाम पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री शामिल हैं।
बीजेपी की रणनीति साफ है। उसके पास मजबूत नेता के रूप में नरेंद्र मोदी हैं और पार्टी मोदी के नाम पर वोट मांगेगी। चुनाव चाहे विधानसभा का हो या लोकसभा का, फोटो नरेंद्र मोदी की ही चलेगी। मोदी की साफ-सुथरी छवि और लोगों तक डायरेक्ट बेनिफिट पहुंचाने की क्षमता पर बीजेपी का फोकस होगा। मोदी की रणनीति साफ है कि जनता के पास जाना है। जनता से फीडबैक लेनी है और जनता जो कमियां बताती हैं उन्हें दुरूस्त करना है।
वहीं, कांग्रेस की रणनीति बीजेपी के विपरीत है। कांग्रेस की रणनीति है नरेन्द्र मोदी की छवि पर हमला करना। राहुल गांधी की ‘भारत जोड़ो यात्रा’ के केंद्र में भी यही रणनीति रही है। कांग्रेस का दावा है कि राहुल की ‘भारत जोड़ो यात्रा’ से बीजेपी डर गई है। इस यात्रा में लोगों की संख्या बढ़ने से बीजेपी नेतृत्व चिंतित है। कांग्रेस वरिष्ठ नेता और राहुल गांधी के रणनीतिकार जयराम रमेश ने कहा कि मोदी का रोड शो एक इवेन्ट मैनेजमेंट है वहीं राहुल की भारत जोड़ो यात्रा एक आंदोलन है।
राहुल की यात्रा को करीब चार महीने होने वाले हैं और वे कन्याकुमारी से पंजाब तक करीब 3200 किलोमीटर तक पैदल चल चुके हैं। लेकिन न उनका भाषण बदला, न स्टाइल बदला, न डायलॉग बदले। कई बार उनका पूरा भाषण सुनने के बाद पता ही नहीं लगता कि इसमें नई बात क्या है ? और सिर्फ राहुल गांधी का यह हाल नहीं है, कांग्रेस पार्टी का ही ये हाल है। कांग्रेस का अगला अधिवेशन 24 से 26 फरवरी तक छत्तीसगढ़ के रायपुर में होगा।
कांग्रेस अभी भी पुराने परंपरगत तरीकों से चुनाव लड़ना चाहती है और जीतना चाहती है। कर्नाटक में अप्रैल में चुनाव होने हैं। सोमवार को प्रियंका गांधी बेंगलुरु पहुंचीं जहां उन्होंने महिलाओं की एक रैली को संबोधित किया। इस रैली का नाम कन्नड़ में रखा गया ‘ना नायिकी’, जिसका अर्थ है मैं एक महिला नेता हूं। इस रैली में प्रियंका गांधी ने ऐलान किया कि अगर कर्नाटक में कांग्रेस की सरकार बनी तो परिवार चलाने वाली हर महिला को हर महीने दो हज़ार रुपए दिए जाएंगे। कांग्रेस ने इस स्कीम को गृह लक्ष्मी योजना का नाम दिया है। इससे पहले कांग्रेस ने सरकार बनने पर हर घर को 200 यूनिट बिजली फ्री देने का वादा किया था। प्रियंका ने कर्नाटक की बीजेपी सरकार पर भ्रष्टाचार का आरोप लगाया और कहा कि बीजेपी सरकार के मंत्री सरकारी परियोजनाओं 40-40 प्रतिशत कमीशन ले रहे हैं।
पिछले विधानसभा चुनाव में कांग्रेस थोड़े से अंतर से चुनाव जीती थी लेकिन बाद में कांग्रेस टूट गई और अब कर्नाटक में बीजेपी की सरकार है। 224 सीटों वाली विधानसभा में कांग्रेस के सदस्यों की संख्या 224 से घटकर 80 हो गई है। दल-बदल के कारण कांग्रेस-जद (एस) गठबंधन सरकार गिर गई और सबसे बड़ी पार्टी बीजेपी अब सत्ता में है। गुजरात, राजस्थान और मध्य प्रदेश के बाद कर्नाटक ही एक ऐसा बड़ा राज्य है जहां कांग्रेस, बीजेपी के साथ सीधे मुकाबले में हैं। कर्नाटक में कांग्रेस के पास नेता भी हैं और कार्यकर्ता भी लेकिन पार्टी की अंदरुनी गुटबाजी कांग्रेस का खेल खराब देती है। सिद्धारमैया और डी. के. शिवकुमार की आपसी खींचतान जगजाहिर है।
कांग्रेस हाईकमान फिलहाल इन दोनों नेताओं के बीच सुलह कराने पर ताकत लगा रहा है। कर्नाटक जैसा ही झगड़ा राजस्थान में अशोक गहलोत और सचिन पायलट के बीच है। वहां भी पार्टी सुलह की कोशिशों में जुटी है। केंद्र में एक मजबूत लीडरशिप के अभाव में कांग्रेस के अंदर इस तरह की गुटबाजी एक अभिशाप की तरह है। वहीं बीजेपी का नेतृत्व ठीक इसके विपरीत है, जिसे हम सब देख रहे हैं।
Congress and BJP: A striking contrast in leadership
In the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the two major political parties, BJP and Congress have already begun to flex their muscles by carrying out road shows and strategy meetings. On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led a small road show at the beginning of BJP national executive meet, while the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ of Rajul Gandhi continues in Punjab. The BJP president J P Nadda told the national executive that “2023 is a crucial year for the party as it will have to contest elections in 9 states”. The meeting was attended by 350 members, 50 permanent invitees, 179 special invitees, which included 35 central ministers, 12 chief ministers, and leaders of opposition and state party chiefs.
BJP’s strategy is clear. It has Narendra Modi as the strong leader, and the party will be seeking votes in the name of Modi, whether in assembly or parliamentary polls. Modi’s clean image and his capability of providing direct benefit to poor people will be focused. The party will try to reach out of people, get feedback and iron out weaknesses.
On the contrary, the Congress’ strategy is to attack Modi’s image. This has been the central point of Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. Congress leaders claim that the BJP leadership is worried about the turnout of people in the Yatra. Rahul Gandhi’s strategist Jairam Ramesh said on Monday that while Modi’s road show was an event management, Rahul’s Bharat Jodo Yatra is a movement.
Rahul’s Yatra is going to complete four months and he has already traversed 3,200 kilometres from Kanyakumari up to Punjab. There has been no change in his style of speech, his dialogues, and several times it appears as if his speech, the style of presentation are the same. This is not only Rahul’s problem, but a common refrain with Congress leaders. Congress will be holding its next session in Raipur, Chhattisgarh from February 24 to 26.
The Grand Old Party wants to contest and win elections in the same traditional manner. Elections are due in April this year in Karnataka. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra reached Bengaluru on Monday and addressed a women’s rally. It was named Na Nayaki, which means, I am a woman leader. She promised her party would give Rs 2,000 monthly sop for every woman head of households in Karnataka. Earlier, the party had announced 200 units free electricity to every household. Priyanka Gandhi alleged that ministers in Karnataka were taking commissions up to 40 per cent in government projects.
In the last assembly elections in Karnataka, Congress was seeking re-election after ruling for five years, but its tally fell from 122 to 80 in a house of 224. The Congress-JD(S) coalition government fell due to defections, and BJP, which was the single largest party, is now in power. Karnataka is the only state after Gujarat, Rajasthan and MP, where Congress is in direct fight with BJP. Congress has leaders and workers in Karnataka, but the party is facing groupism. The rivalry between Siddaramaiah and D. K. Shivakumar is well-known.
The party high command is trying hard for a patchup, similar on the lines of Rajasthan where Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot are at loggerheads. Groupism in the party due to lack of a strong leadership at the Centre seems to be the bane of Congress politics. BJP’s leadership is in striking contrast, for all to see.
बिहार, यूपी, बंगाल, असम के लिए वरदान साबित हो सकता है गंगा क्रूज
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने शुक्रवार को दुनिया के सबसे लंबे (3,200 किलोमीटर लंबे) रिवर क्रूज को हरी झंडी दिखाई। एम.वी. गंगा विलास क्रूज अपनी पहली यात्रा में जर्मन और स्विस पर्यटकों को लेकर वाराणसी से रवाना हुआ और 51 दिनों के बाद बांग्लादेश होते हुए असम के डिब्रूगढ़ पहुंचेगा। मोदी ने उम्मीद जताई की कि क्रूज पर्यटन का यह नया युग नौकरी के नए मौके और स्वरोजगार पैदा करेगा। उन्होंने कहा, क्रूज पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए और अधिक अंतर्देशीय जलमार्ग विकसित किए जा रहे हैं।
मोदी ने कहा कि भारत बुनियादी ढांचे का ऐसा स्तर देख रहा है जिसकी कुछ साल पहले कल्पना भी नहीं की जा सकती थी। उन्होंने यूपी, बिहार, पश्चिम बंगाल और असम के लिए जलमार्ग विकास की 1,000 करोड़ रुपये की परियोजनाओं और वाराणसी में एक टेंट सिटी परियोजना का भी उद्घाटन किया।
गंगा विलास यात्रा क्रूज की लागत प्रति व्यक्ति न्यूनतम 20 लाख रुपये है, जो 51 दिनों की यात्रा के लिए प्रति यात्री 50 लाख रुपये तक जा सकती है। यात्रा के दौरान केवल शाकाहारी भोजन परोसा जाएगा और शराब पीने की इजाजत नहीं होगी। क्रूज पर स्पा, सैलून, जिम और अन्य सुविधाएं उपलब्ध हैं।
यह क्रूज वर्ल्ड हेरिटेज साइट्स, नदी के घाटों, नेशनल पार्क और पटना, ढाका, कोलकाता एवं गुवाहाटी जैसे शहरों सहित लगभग 50 पर्यटन स्थलों को कवर करेगा। पीएम द्वारा क्रूज को हरी झंडी दिखाने के बाद कई विपक्षी दलों ने यह कहते हुए इसका विरोध किया कि इससे गंगा नदी में मछली पकड़ने वाले मछुआरों और नाव चलाने वाले नाविकों का रोजगार खतरे में पड़ जाएगा।
समाजवादी पार्टी के मुखिया अखिलेश यादव ने पूछा कि गंगा में अगर क्रूज चलेगा तो मल्लाह क्या करेंगे, उनकी नाव में कौन बैठेगा। कांग्रेस ने कहा कि क्रूज बेकार की चीज है, जबकि जेडीयू के नेता ललन सिंह ने कहा कि बिहार में उनकी सरकार गंगा में माल की ढुलाई नहीं होने देगी। उन्होंने कहा कि क्रूज पैसे की बर्बादी है।
मोदी ने अपने भाषण में गंगा नदी को ‘मां’ और भारत की जीवन रेखा कहा। उन्होंने रोजगार के मौकों की कमी के कारण गंगा के आसपास बसे शहरों से मजदूरों के पलायन की ओर इशारा किया। मोदी ने कहा, क्रूज और वाराणसी की नयी टेंट सिटी पर्यटन और रोजगार के अवसरों को बढ़ावा देगी।
समाजवादी पार्टी सुप्रीमो अखिलेश यादव ने दावा किया कि बीजेपी पुराने माल को रंग रोगन करके बेच रही है। अखिलेश ने कहा कि उन्होंने अपनी सरकार के वक्त जो नावें खरीदी थी, अब बीजेपी की सरकार उन्हीं नावों को अपना बता रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि मोदी ने गंगा की सफाई का वादा किया था, लेकिन वह वादा पूरा नहीं हुआ। कांग्रेस नेता जयराम रमेश ने कहा कि मोदी सरकार पहले ये बताए कि नमामि गंगे योजना का क्या हुआ और गंगा की गंदगी क्यों खत्म नहीं हुई? उन्होंने कहा, ‘वे कभी क्रूज तो कभी टेंट सिटी जैसे ड्रामे कर रहे हैं।’
उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने कहा कि उनकी सरकार ने गंगा के प्रदूषण को रोकने के लिए डीजल से चलने वाली नावों की जगह नाविकों को CNG नावें उपलब्ध कराई हैं। उन्होंने कहा, यूपी लैंडलॉक्ड राज्य है, और चूंकि आसपास कोई समंदर नहीं है, इसलिए राज्य के छोटे-छोटे शहरों में बनने वाले प्रोडक्ट इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर की कमी के चलते दुनिया की नजरों में नहीं आ पाते। उन्होंने कहा कि गंगा रिवर क्रूज से छोटे कारीगरों को फायदा होगा और उनके प्रोडक्ट सीधे अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजारों में पहुंच सकेंगे।
इसमें तो कोई शक नहीं कि अब तक रिवर क्रूज के बारे में न कांग्रेस ने सोचा, न समाजवादी पार्टी ने सोचा। पहली बार यह आइडिया मोदी ने दिया और इसे लागू करके दिखा दिया। यह भी सही है कि क्रूज चलने से कोई बहुत बड़ा चमत्कार नहीं होगा, लेकिन इससे नदियों से शहरों को जोड़ने की जो बात पिछले 30 साल से चल रही है, वह साकार होगी।
अगर पर्यटकों की संख्या बढ़ती है तो इससे पूरे शहर का फायदा होता है, लेकिन चूंकि यह काम मोदी ने किया है, इसलिए विरोधी दल विरोध कर रहे हैं। गंगा के किनारे के इलाकों में मल्लाहों की संख्या काफी ज्यादा है, उनका बड़ा वोट बैंक है। इसलिए अखिलेश ने क्रूज को मल्लाहों का रोजगार खाने वाला बताया, और योगी ने इसे गंगापुत्रों के लिए वरदान बता दिया।
अखिलेश यादव को पता होना चाहिए कि क्रूज में एक बार में कुल 36 मुसाफिर सफर कर सकते हैं, साल में सिर्फ 6 टूर होंगे। यानी कुल 216 यात्री साल भर में क्रूज में सफर कर सकेंगे। काशी में हर साल लाखों पर्यटक पहुंचते हैं। ऐसे में क्रूज से मल्लाहों को नुकसान कैसे हो सकता है?
अखिलेश को बिहार के उपमुख्यमंत्री तेजस्वी यादव से सीखना चाहिए, जिन्होंने क्रूज का स्वागत किया और इसे लोगों को लिए वरदान बताया। तेजस्वी ने कहा कि इससे रोजगार भी बढ़ेगा और गंगा के आसपास बसे शहरों की अर्थव्यवस्था भी सुधरेगी। इस क्रूज के जरिए विदेशी सैलानी बिहार के गौरवशाली इतिहास को जान सकेंगे, और राज्य की ऐतिहासिक धरोहरों को देख सकेंगे।
तेजस्वी क्रूज के उद्घाटन के मौके पर उपमुख्यमंत्री के तौर पर बोले, इसलिए उन्होंने पद की गरिमा के हिसाब से बात की। लेकिन ललन सिंह जेडीयू अध्यक्ष के तौर पर बोल रहे हैं, इसलिए क्रूज की आलोचना कर रहे हैं।
ललन सिंह नीतीश कुमार को प्रधानमंत्री पद का दावेदार बनाने के लिए मेहनत कर रहे हैं, तो जाहिर सी बात है कि वह मोदी की किसी योजना का सपोर्ट कैसे कर सकते हैं। मुझे लगता है कि जब विकास की बात हो तो सियासत से ऊपर उठकर सोचना चाहिए।
Ganga river cruise can be a blessing for Bihar, UP, Bengal, Assam
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday flagged off the world’s longest (3,200 km long) river cruise. The maiden voyage of M.V. Ganga Vilas cruise with German and Swiss tourists left Varanasi and will reach Dibrugarh in Assam via Bangladesh after 51 days. Modi hoped that this new era of cruise tourism would create job opportunities and self-employment. He said, more inland waterways are being developed to promote cruise tourism.
India, Modi said, is witnessing a level of infrastructure that was unimaginable a few years ago. He also inaugurated Rs 1,000 crore worth projects of waterway development for UP, Bihar, West Bengal and Assam, and also opened a Tent City project in Varanasi.
The cost of Ganga Vilas travel cruise is a minimum Rs 20 lakh per head, which could go up to Rs 50 lakh per passenger for the 51-day trip. Only vegetarian food will be served and alcohol will not be allowed. Spa, salon, gym and other facilities are available on the trip.
It will cover nearly 50 tourist destinations including world heritage sites, river banks, national parks and cities like Patna, Dhaka, Kolkata and Guwahati. After the PM flagged off the cruise, several opposition parties opposed it saying that it would cause job losses to fishermen and boatmen plying in the river Ganga.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav queried what will happen to the boatmen and their boats. Congress described the cruise as useless, while JD-U chief Lallan Singh said, his state government in Bihar will not allow plying of goods by waterways. He described the cruise as a waste of money.
Modi, in his speech, described river Ganga as ‘mother’ and India’s lifeline. He pointed out to the migration of labourers from cities located near Ganga due to lack of job opportunities. Modi said, the cruise and Varanasi’s new Tent City will give a boost to tourism and job opportunities.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the present BJP government in UP is renovating launches and boats that were purchased during his rule and is presenting them as new boats and launches. He said, Modi’s promise to clean up the river Ganga has not been fulfilled. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh asked Modi what happened to the Namami Gange project and why the Ganga river is still dirty. “They are only staging dramas like cruise and tent city”, he said.
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath said, his government has provided CNG boats by replaced diesel-run boats, in order to stop pollution of Ganga. He said, UP is landlocked state, and since there is no seashore nearby, products that are made in small towns of the state fail to reach foreign shores, due to lack of infrastructure. With the Ganga river cruise, small artisans will benefit and they can sell their products in international markets, he added.
It is a fact that neither the Congress nor the Samajwadi Party ever thought of plying a Ganga river cruise. It was Modi’s original idea which was implemented by him. It is also true that a luxury cruise will not create much impact on the state’s economy, but it will give a boost to inland waterways linking cities.
An entire town flourishes with the incoming of tourists, and since this work has been launched by Modi, the opposition parties are bound to object. Boatmen or ‘mallah’ form a large vote bank, and they live on the banks of river Ganga. That is why Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the cruise will gobble up the jobs of boatmen, while Yogi said the cruise will be a boon for Gangaputra (children of Ganga).
Akhilesh Yadav should know that 36 foreign tourists on a single trip, and only six trips in a year, means a total of 216 foreign tourists travelling on the cruise. On the other hand, lakhs of tourists visits Benares every year. How can the cruise gobble up the jobs of boatmen?
Akhilesh should learn from Bihar deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, who welcomed the cruise, saying it was a blessing for boatmen, will enhance job opportunities and improve economy in the towns located on the banks of Ganga. Foreign tourists can know about the great heritage of Bihar and visit the famous historic sites.
Tejashwi was speaking as a deputy chief minister at the event, and he spoke in a manner befitting his position. But Janata Dal(U) chief Lallan Singh, his alliance partner, spoke against the cruise.
Lallan Singh is trying to hard to project his leader Nitish Kumar as the prime ministerial candidate, and naturally, he was not supposed to support Modi. I think, in matters relating to development, politicians should rise above politics.
रामचरितमानस पर अभद्र टिप्पणी करने वाले मंत्री को बर्खास्त कर देना चाहिए
बिहार के शिक्षा मंत्री चंद्रशेखर द्वारा रामचरितमानस पर की गई एक टिप्पणी से विवाद खड़ा हो गया है। हिंदू साधु-संत सरकार से उनकी बर्खास्तगी की मांग कर रहे हैं।
शिक्षा मंत्री चंद्रशेखर ने बयान दिया था कि गोस्वामी तुलसीदास द्वारा रचित प्रसिद्ध महाकाव्य रामचरितमानस ‘समाज में नफरत फैलाता है’ और निचली जातियों के खिलाफ भेदभाव का प्रचार करता है। RJD से ताल्लुक रखने वाले चंद्रशेखर ने माफी मांगने से इनकार कर दिया है।
नालंदा ओपन यूनिवर्सिटी के 15वें दीक्षांत समारोह को संबोधित करते हुए शिक्षा मंत्री चंद्रशेखर ने कहा, ‘आज से करीब 700 साल पहले 15-16वीं सदी में रामचरितमानस लिखा गया। तुलसीदास जी ने लिखा रामचरितमानस। उसके उत्तर कांड में लिखा है, पूजिए विप्र शील गुण हीना, पूजिए न शूद्र ज्ञान प्रवीणा।’ अगर यह विचारधारा चलेगी तो भारत को ताकतवर बनाने का सपना पूरा नहीं हो सकता। इसका मतलब है कि ज्ञान से प्रवीण बाबा भीमराव अंबेडकर भी पूजनीय नहीं हैं। ऐसी शिक्षा समाज में नफरत बोती है। उसी उत्तरकांड में लिखा हुआ है, ‘जे बरनाधम तेलि कुम्हारा, स्वपच किरात कोल कलवारा। बरन में अधम कौन-कौन लोग है? तेली, कुम्हार, कहार, कोल, कलवार, आदिवासी और दलित आदि जातियां। उसी में आगे लिखा है कि अधम जाति में विद्या पाए, भयहुं यथा अहि दूध पिलाए। यानी कि अधम जाति के लोग विद्या पाकर जहरीले हो जाते हैं, जैसे कि दूध पीने के बाद सांप हो जाता है। अगर ये शास्त्र हमारे सामने हों, जो नफरत को इस तरह से बोते हों, तो मैं समझता हूं कि नफरत का वातावरण बनाकर भारत को ताकतवर कोई नहीं बना सकता है।’
बीजेपी नेता अश्विनी चौबे ने बिहार के शिक्षा मंत्री को ‘अज्ञानी’ करार दिया। उन्होंने कहा, ‘रामचरितमानस में ऐसी चीजें कहीं नहीं लिखी हैं। रामचरितमानस कहता है कि हिंदुत्व जीवन जीने की पद्धति है।’
पूर्व केंद्रीय कानून मंत्री रविशंकर प्रसाद ने कहा, ‘यह कैसे अशिक्षित शिक्षा मंत्री हैं जिन्हें भगवान राम की कहानी नहीं मालूम। वह हिंदू भावनाओं का अपमान कर रहे हैं। या तो वह माफी मांगें या नीतीश कुमार उन्हें बर्खास्त करें। भगवान राम की कहानी सभी को जोड़ती है। ये नेता कुछ जानते नहीं हैं, बस भाषण देते हैं। नीतीश कुमार के मंत्री ने रामचरितमानस का अपमान करके देश का अपमान किया है।’
RJD के प्रवक्ता मृत्युंजय तिवारी ने कहा, ‘चंद्रशेखर को रामचरितमानस की दूसरी चौपाइयां भी पढ़नी चाहिए। भगवान राम ने तो सभी जाति के लोगों को गले लगाया, लोगों की सारी धारणाओं को बदला। हमारी पार्टी सभी धर्मग्रंथों का सम्मान करती है। चंद्रशेखर जो कह रहे हैं, वह उनकी सोच हो सकती है, लेकिन यह हमारी पार्टी की सोच नहीं है।
चिराग पासवान खुद दलित हैं, लेकिन उन्हें भी बिहार के शिक्षा मंत्री की बात बुरी लगी। चिराग पासवान ने कहा, ‘भगवान राम भारत के आदर्श हैं, देश की आत्मा हैं। रामचरितमानस को घर-घर में पूजा जाता है। इस तरह की पवित्र पुस्तक के बारे में इस तरह की हल्की बात करना शोभा नहीं देता। इस सबके पीछे नीतीश कुमार है, क्योंकि वह समाज में बंटवारा करके ही अपनी कुर्सी बचाए हुए हैं।’
बिहार कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष अखिलेश प्रसाद सिंह ने बीच की लाइन ली। उन्होंने शिक्षा मंत्री के बयान को गलत बताया, लेकिन उन्हें पद से हटाने की मांग पर खामोश हो गए। अखिलेश प्रसाद सिंह ने कहा, ‘भगवान राम की, रामायण की, रामचरितमानस की आलोचना कोई बर्दाश्त नहीं करेगा। शिक्षा मंत्री जैसे पद पर बैठे व्यक्ति को इस तरह की बात नहीं कहनी चाहिए। उन्हें अपना बयान वापस लेना चाहिए।
केंद्रीय मंत्री गिरिराज सिंह ने शिक्षा मंत्री को उनके पद से हटाने की मांग की। उन्होंने कहा, ‘नीतीश कुमार ने वोट के चक्कर में हिंदुओं के अपमान की पॉलिसी बना दी है, और इसे अपने मंत्रियों के जरिए लागू करवा रहे हैं। चंद्रशेखर का बयान इसका सबूत है। बिहार की जनता इस अपमान के लिए नीतीश को माफ नहीं करेगी।’
मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार ने कहा कि उन्हें इस बात की जानकारी नहीं है कि उनके मंत्री ने वास्तव में क्या कहा। श्री राम जन्मभूमि मंदिर के मुख्य पुजारी आचार्य सत्येंद्र दास ने कहा, ‘जो बात चंद्रशेखर ने कही है, वैसी बात कोई अज्ञानी ही कह सकता है। ऐसे अज्ञानी को कम से कम शिक्षा मंत्री के पद पर रहने का कोई हक नहीं है। मंत्री या तो माफी मांगें या सरकार उन्हें बर्खास्त करे।’
अपनी राम कथा के जरिए पूरी दुनिया में रामचरितमानस की व्याख्या कर रहे कवि कुमार विश्वास ने कहा, ‘चंद्रशेखर एक अशिक्षित शिक्षा मंत्री हैं। जिसके मानस में जहर भरा हो, वह रामचरितमानस के बारे में ऐसा ही बोलेगा।’ कुमार विश्वास ने कहा कि क्या बिहार के शिक्षा मंत्री किसी दूसरे मजहब के धार्मिक ग्रंथ के बारे में इस तरह की बात कहने की हिम्मत जुटा सकते हैं।
वैसे रामचरितमानस में एक चौपाई है, ‘जाकी रही भावना जैसी, प्रभु मूरत देखी तिन तैसी’, यानी जिसकी जैसी भावना होगी, उसे प्रभु की वैसी छवि दिखेगी। मैं रामचरितमानस का बहुत बड़ा ज्ञाता नहीं हूं, लेकिन इसे एक महान ग्रंथ मानता हूं। मानस के बारे में थोड़ा बहुत तो मैं भी जानता हूं। बिहार के शिक्षा मंत्री चंद्रशेखर यादव ने जिन चौपाईयों का हवाला दिया, वे सारी उत्तरकांड की हैं। दावा यह किया जाता है कि उत्तरकांड, गोस्वामी तुलसीदास रचित रामचरितमानस का हिस्सा नहीं था। इसे शायद बाद में जोड़ा गया।
अगर इसे रामचरितमानस का हिस्सा मान लिया जाए तो भी मैं कहूंगा कि चंद्रशेखर यादव जिस चौपाई का हवाला देकर मानस को नफरत फैलाने वाला ग्रन्थ बता रहे हैं, उसमें कहा गया है कि ‘पूजहिं विप्र सकल गुण हीना। शूद्र न पूजहुं वेद प्रवीणा।’ इसमें बिहार के शिक्षामंत्री ‘विप्र’ को ब्राह्मण और ‘शूद्र’ की व्याख्या पिछडे, दलित और आदिवासियों की तरह कर रहे हैं। लेकिन रामायण में विप्र का मतलब ब्राह्मण नहीं है, बल्कि यहां इसका मतलब सदाचारी और शूद्र का मतलब दुराचारी है। सुंदरकांड में हनुमान जी के लिए ‘विप्र’ शब्द का इस्तेमाल हुआ है और रावण को ‘शूद्र’ कहा गया है।
इस चौपाई का मतलब है जो सदाचारी है वह भले ही गुणहीन हो, कमजोर हो, उसका सम्मान होना चाहिए और जो अनाचारी है वह कितना भी बड़ा विद्वान हो, ताकतवर हो, उसका सम्मान नहीं होना चाहिए। रावण प्रकांड पंडित था, वेदों का ज्ञाता था, शिवभक्त था, लेकिन अनाचारी था। इसलिए उसकी पूजा नहीं होती। हालांकि इस तरह की बातें चंद्रशेखर जैसे लोगों को समझ नहीं आएंगी, न वे समझना चाहेंगे क्योंकि उनका मसकद समाज को बांटना है।
बिहार में पहले ही नीतीश कुमार जातिगत समीकरणों को ध्यान में रखकर जातियों का सर्वे करा रहे हैं। बाकी बचा हुआ काम उनके मंत्री इस तरह के बयान देकर कर रहे हैं। कुमार विश्वास ने सही कहा है कि बिहार के ‘अशिक्षित’ शिक्षा मंत्री तो बर्खास्त कर देना चाहिए।
Sack Bihar minister for his obnoxious remarks about Ramcharitmanas
The remarks made on Ramcharitmanas by Bihar Education Minister Chandrashekhar have stirred a raging controversy with Hindu sadhus and saints demanding his dismissal from the government.
The minister Chandrashekhar had remarked that the famous epic poem Ramcharitmanas written by Goswami Tulsidas ‘spreads hatred in society’ and propagates discrimination against lower castes. The minister, who belongs to RJD, has refused to apologize.
Let us first read what the minister said while addressing the 15th convocation of Nalanda Open University. Chandrashekhar said, “Nearly 700 years ago, in the 15th-16th century, Ramcharitmanas was written by Tulsidas. In the Uttar Kand, it is written पूजिए विप्र शील गुण हीना…पूजिए न शूद्र ज्ञान प्रवीणा. If such thoughts prevail, our dream of making India great cannot be fulfilled. It means, Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, who was a learned man, is not worthy of reverence. Such texts spread hatred in our society. In Ramcharitmanas is written जे बरनाधम तेलि कुम्हारा स्वपच किरात कोल कलवारा….जे बरनाधम….(who are described as ‘adham’ (irreligious)? Backward castes like Teli, kumhar, kahaar, Kol, Kalwar, tribals, Dalits, etc.. It is also written “अधम जाति में विद्या पाए… भयहुं यथा अहि दूध पिलाए.” It means people from backward castes, after getting education become venomous like a snake drinking milk. If such religious texts are there before us, I can only say, India cannot become great by spreading hatred.”
BJP leader Ashwini Choubey described the Bihar education minister as ‘illiterate’. He said, nowhere in Ramcharitmanas has such things been written. The Ramcharitmanas says, Hindutva is a way of life.”
Former Law Minister Ravishankar Prasad said, “it is surprising that Bihar education minister does not know the true story of Lord Rama and is insulting Hindu sentiments. He should either apologize, or Nitish Kumar should sack him. The story of Lord Rama binds all Indians. These leaders only give speeches but do not read properly. By insulting Ramcharitmanas, the minister has insulted India.”
RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said, “Chandrashekhar should have also read other portions of Ramcharitmanas too. Lord Rama embrached people from all castes, and changed the outlook of people. Our party respects all religious texts. Whatever Chandrashekhar said could be his personal outlook, but it is not the stand of our party.”
Late Ramvilas Paswan’s son Chirag Paswan, a Dalit himself, said: “Lord Ram is India’s ideal, he is the sould of this nation. Ramcharitmanas is worshipped in every Hindu home. It does not behove of a minister to speak so lightly about the book. Nitish Kumar could be behind this, because he is holding on to his chair by dividing society.”
Bihar state Congress chief Akhilesh Prasad Singh took a middle line. He was silent about the demand to sack the minister, but said, “No Indian will tolerate insult of Lord Ram, Ramayana or Ramcharitmanas. A man holding the post of education minister should not have made such a remark. He must withdraw his comment.”
Union Minister Giriraj Singh demanded that the minister be sacked. He alleged, “Nitish Kumar, in his quest for vote banks, is following a policy to insult all Hindus, and he is using his ministers to do this. The people of Bihar will never forgive Nitish Kumar for this insult.”
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said he was not aware of what his minister actually said. Acharya Satyendra Das, the main priest at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, said, “Only an illiterate can make such remarks. Such persons should not be made education minister. The minister should either apoligize or he should be sacked.”
Poet Kumar Vishwas, who has been spreading the story of Lord Ram across the world, through his Ram Katha events, said, “Chandrashekhar is an illiterate education minister. A person who has poison in his mind will say such things about Ramcharitmanas. ” He challenged Chandrashekhar to say such things about other religious texts.
In conclusion, I can only quote a line from Ramcharitmanas: जाकी रही भावना जैसी…प्रभु मूरत देखी तिन तैसी. (A person views God according to his outlook). I do not claim to be an authority on Ramcharitmanas, but I can only say, the portions quoted by the Bihar minister were from Uttar Kand chapter. It is claimed that this chapter is not part of Goswami Tulsidas’s original Ramcharitmanas. These were probably added later.
Even if one consider these lines to be part of Ramcharitmanas, I can only say that the interpretations of some words are incorrect. The meaning of the word “Vipra” is not Brahmin. It applies to “a person of good character”, while the word “Shudra” applies to “a person of bad character”. In Sunder Kand, ‘Vipra” is used for Hanuman, and Ravana is described as ‘Shudra’. The verse means, those who are of good character must be respected, and those who are of bad character, despite being a learned person (like Ravan) must not be respected. The demon king Ravana was a great pandit, he studied the four Vedas, and worshipped Lord Shiva, but was a tyrant. That is why Ravan is not worshipped by Hindus. Such interpretations cannot be understood by people like Chandrashekhar. Neither will they ever try to understand. Because their main aim is to divide society.
Already, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has initiated caste-based census in Bihar. His ministers are doing the rest by making such obnoxious remarks. Kumar Vishwas has rightly said, such an ‘illiterate’ education minister must be sacked forthwith.

राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ के प्रमुख डॉ. मोहन भागवत के बयान पर विवाद हो गया है। उन्होंने कहा-‘मुसलमानों को भारत में डरने की कोई जरूरत नहीं है, लेकिन उन्हें श्रेष्ठता के अपने दावे को छोड़ देना चाहिए।’ आरएसएस के मुखपत्र ‘ऑर्गेनाइजर’ और ‘पांचजन्य’ को हाल में दिए अपने इंटरव्यू में भागवत ने कहा, ‘सरल सत्य ये है-हिंदुस्तान को हिंदुस्तान ही रहना चाहिए।आज भारत में रह रहे मुसलमानों को कोई नुकसान नहीं है। अगर वे अपनी आस्था में बने रहना चाहते हैं तो वे ऐसा कर सकते हैं। उनके पूर्वजों की जिसमें आस्था रही, अगर वे उसमें वापस जाना चाहते हैं तो वे जाएं। यह पूरी तरह से उनके मन पर निर्भर है। हिंदुओं में ऐसा आग्रह है ही नहीं।’
संघ प्रमुख ने कहा, ‘इस्लाम को हिंदुओं से डरने की जरूरत नहीं है। लेकिन, मुसलमानों को श्रेष्ठता वाले अपने भाव को छोड़ना होगा। भागवत ने कहा, ‘मुसलमानों को इस नैरेटिव को छोड़ देना चाहिए कि हम बड़े हैं। हमने यहां शासन किया था और फिर से शासन करेंगे। सिर्फ हमारा रास्ता सही है बाकि सब गलत हैं। हम अलग हैं, इसलिए हम ऐसे ही रहेंगे, हम एक साथ नहीं रह सकते। उन्हें यह भाव छोड़ना पड़ेगा।’
मोहन भागवत का बयान सामने आते ही एआईएमआईएम प्रमुख असदुद्दीन ओवैसी ने तुरंत अपनी प्रतिक्रिया दी। ओवैसी ने आरोप लगाया कि आरएसएस मुसलमानों के खिलाफ हिंसा भड़काने की कोशिश कर रहा है। उन्होंने कहा, ‘मुसलमान केवल समानता और समान नागरिकता की बात कर रहे हैं, वर्चस्व या श्रेष्ठता की नहीं। उनके (आरएसएस) लिए विविधता राष्ट्र-विरोधी है। वह (भागवत) सीधे तौर पर लोगों को मुसलमानों के खिलाफ हिंसा करने के लिए उकसा रहे हैं। ओवैसी ने यह भी कहा- ‘बीजेपी और आरएसएस के नेता महंगाई, बेरोजगारी, भारत-चीन सीमा मुद्दे या रुपये की गिरती कीमत के बारे में कभी नहीं बोलते।’
एआईएमआईएम प्रमुख ने कहा, ‘मोहन भागवत होते कौन हैं मुसलमानों को रहने का सलीका बताने वाले ? वे इस बात की परमिशन देने वाले होते कौन हैं कि हम कैसे अपनी फेथ (आस्था) को फॉलो करें? नागरिकता पर शर्तें लगाने वाले वे कौन होते हैं? हम यहां पर अपनी फेथ (आस्था) को एडजस्ट करने के लिए नहीं है। नागपुर में बैठे हुए कथित ब्रह्मचारियों के समूह से हमको सीखने की जरूरत नहीं है।’
कांग्रेस नेता दिग्विजय सिंह ने एक अलग अंदाज में अपनी प्रतिक्रिया दी। उन्होंने कहा, ‘राहुल गांधी की भारत जोड़ो यात्रा का असर न केवल बीजेपी और उनके सहयोगियों पर बल्कि राष्ट्रीय स्वयं सेवक संघ पर भी पड़ रहा है। कौन सोच सकता था कि संघ प्रमुख मदरसा या मस्जिद जाएंगे ? आरएसएस हिंदू राष्ट्र की बात करता है जो कि हमारे संविधान के खिलाफ है। वहीं दूसरी ओर बीजेपी के नेता चुनाव के बाद संविधान की शपथ लेते हैं। इस तरह की दोमुंही बातें अच्छी नहीं हैं।’
कांग्रेस महासचिव जयराम रमेश ने कहा, ‘राहुल गांधी की भारत जोड़ो यात्रा को लेकर लोगों की प्रतिक्रिया से बीजेपी हैरान है। हमारा देश अनेकता में एकता के लिए जाना जाता है और यह यात्रा इसी बात को उजागर करती है। अगर विविधता को दबाया गया तो एकता खतरे में आ जाएगी।’
जयराम रमेश ने कहा, ‘संघ प्रमुख मोहन भागवत घबराए हुए हैं, उन्होंने मुस्लिम नेताओं से मुलाकात की जबकि नितिन गडकरी अब बेरोजगारी और गरीबों के बारे में बात कर रहे हैं। स्वामी रामदेव ने राहुल गांधी की यात्रा की सराहना की है और बीजेपी अध्यक्ष जेपी नड्डा ने एक दरगाह का दौरा किया है। यह सब राहुल गांधी की यात्रा का असर है।’
समाजवादी पार्टी के सांसद शफीकुर्रहमान बर्क ने कहा, देश के मुसलमान न मोहन भागवत से और न ही पीएम से डरते हैं, वे केवल अल्लाह से डरते हैं। मुसलमान नंबर 2 नहीं हैं, वे नंबर 1 हैं और रहेंगे। भाजपा और आरएसएस केवल नफरत फैला रहे हैं। इस देश को बचाने और अंग्रजों की गुलामी से आजादी दिलाने में मुसलमानों का अहम योगदान रहा है। हम इस देश के नागरिक हैं और हमारे साथ मानवीयता का व्यवहार होना चाहिए। हमारे पैगंबर ने कहा था कि मुझे हिंदुस्तान से प्रेम की भावना आती है, इसलिए हर मुसलमान हिंदुस्तान से प्यार करता रहेगा। अगर हमारी जमीन पर कोई खतरा आता है तो मुसलमान अपनी जान कुर्बान करने के लिए तैयार रहेंगे।
शिवसेना नेता संजय राउत ने पहले मोहन भागवत की तारीफ की और कहा, ‘वह हमारे मार्गदर्शक हैं। लेकिन बीजेपी नेताओं को उनसे सीखना चाहिए।’ राउत ने कहा, ‘अगर बीजेपी नेता हिंदू-मुस्लिम बयानबाजी करेंगे तो देश टूट जाएगा। आप लोगों में डर का फायदा उठाकर लंबे समय तक राजनीति नहीं कर सकते।’
मुस्लिम उलेमा ने मोहन भागवत के बयान का स्वागत किया। मौलाना याकूब अब्बास ने कहा, ‘भारत के मुसलमान आज खुद को मुगल बादशाहों से नहीं जोड़ते हैं’। मौलाना सूफ़ियान निज़ामी ने कहा, ‘भारत में मुसलमान न तो डर के साए में जी रहे हैं और न ही वर्चस्व की लड़ाई लड़ रहे हैं।’
आपने नोट किया होगा कि अलग-अलग राजनैतिक दलों के नेताओं ने मोहन भागवत के बयान का वो मतलब निकाला जो उनके अनुकूल है। कांग्रेस के नेताओं ने कहा कि ये राहुल गांधी की भारत जोड़ो यात्रा का रिएक्शन है। ओवैसी को इसमें 2024 के चुनाव की तैयारी नजर आई। संजय राउत को लगा कि मोहन भागवत बीजेपी को सीख दे रहे हैं।
लेकिन मोहन भागवत ने मुसलमानों को लेकर इस तरह की बात कोई पहली बार नहीं कही। 19 सितंबर 2018 को मोहन भागवत ने कहा था-‘जिस दिन हम ये कहेंगे कि हमें मुसलमान नहीं चाहिए, उस दिन हिन्दुत्व ही नहीं रहेगा।’ फिर अप्रैल 2019 में मोहन भागवत ने कहा कि हिन्दू-मुसलमान भाई-भाई हैं। बस पूजा पद्धति अलग-अलग है। एक दूसरे के प्रति शंका का कोई मतलब नहीं है। विश्वास जरूरी है।
फिर पांच जुलाई 2021 को मोहन भागवत ने कहा-‘जो लोग मॉब लिंचिंग में शामिल हैं वे हिन्दू नहीं हो सकते।’ फिर 19 सितंबर 2022 को मोहन भागवत दिल्ली की मस्जिद में गए। उसके बाद 5 अक्टूबर 2022 को मोहन भागवत ने काशी में ज्ञानवापी के विवाद पर कहा कि हर जगह जाकर शिवलिंग खोजना और विवाद पैदा करना ठीक नहीं है। ये बंद होना चाहिए। ऐसे अनगिनत उदाहरण हैं जब मोहन भागवत ने इस तरह के बयान दिए। तब ना तो राहुल की यात्रा थी ना 2024 के चुनाव की आहट।
असल में आरएसएस प्रमुख का पूरा बयान देखें तो बात स्पष्ट हो जाएगी। उन्होंने सिर्फ मुसलमानों की बात नहीं की, उन्होंने हिंदुओं से भी कहा कि उन्हें इस तरह की सोच छोड़नी पड़ेगी कि वो दूसरों से बेहतर हैं। मुझे लगता है कि इस बयान को इसी संदर्भ में देखा जाना चाहिए।
हमारे देश में हर नागरिक को बराबर का अधिकार है। इस बात से कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता कि उसका धर्म क्या है। लेकिन हम रोज देखते हैं कि राजनीति करने वाले, वोटों के लिए काम करने वाले सबको डराते हैं। कोई हिंदुओं को मुसलमानों का डर दिखाता है तो कोई मुसलमानों को हिंदुओं के नाम पर डराता है। इस काम में बहुत सारे धार्मिक नेता भी लगे हैं। इसलिए मोटी बात ये है कि किसी को डरने-डराने की जरुरत नहीं है और ना ही किसी को अपने आप को सुपीरियर बताकर दादागीरी करने की जरूरत है। अगर इस तरह से सोचेंगे तो सबको फायदा होगा।
Bhagwat’s remarks about Muslims, should be seen in the right context
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat has created a controversy by making a statement that ‘Muslims having nothing to fear in India, but they must abandon their claim of supremacy.’
In a recent interview to RSS organs ‘Organiser’ and ‘Panchajanya’, Bhagwat said, “the simple truth is this – Hindusthan should remain Hindusthan. There is no harm to Muslims living today in Bharat. If they wish to stick to their faith, they can. If they want to return to the faith of their ancestors, they may. It is entirely their choice. There is no such stubbornness among Hindus”.
The RSS chief also said, “Islam has nothing to fear from Hindus. But at the same time, Muslims must abandon their boisterous rhetoric of supremacy.”
Bhagwat said, “Muslims must abandon this narrative that we are an exalted race; we once ruled over this land, and shall rule it again. Only our path is right, rest everyone is wrong. We are different, therefore we will continue to be so, we cannot live together – they must abandon this narrative.”
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi was quick to react. Owaisi alleged that the RSS is trying to incite violence against Muslims. He said, “Muslims are only talking about equality and equal citizenship, not supremacy. For them (RSS), diversity is anti-national. He (Bhagwat) is directly inciting people to commit violence against Muslims.” Owaisi also said, BJP and RSS leaders never speak about inflation, unemployment, India-China border issue or about the falling rupee.
The AIMIM chief said, “Who is Mohan Bhagwat to give permission to Muslims to live in India or about following our faith? How dare he put conditions on our citizenship? We are not here to adjust our faith or please a bunch of alleged celibates in Nagpur.”
Congress leader Digvijaya Singh responded in a different tone. He said, “The Bharat Jodo Yatra by Rahul Gandhi is having its impact not only on BJP’s allies, but also on RSS. Who could have imagined there could be a day when an RSS chief would visit a madrasa or a mosque? RSS speaks about Hindu Rashtra, which is against our Constitution. On the other hand, BJP leaders take oath on the Constitution after elections. Such doublespeak is not good.”
Taking up the cue, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “BJP is baffled by the response of the people to Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra. Our country is known for unity in diversity and this Yatra highlights that. If diversity is suppressed, unity will come under threat.”
Jairam Ramesh said, “RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat met Muslim leaders, while Nitin Gadkari is now taking about unemployment and the poor. Swami Ramdev has appreciated Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra, and BJP chief J P Nadda visited a dargah. This is all because of the impact of Rahul’s Yatra.”
Samajwadi Party MP Shafiqur Rahman Barq said, “Muslims do not fear either Bhagwat or the PM, they only fear Allah. Muslims are not No. 2, they are No.1 and will remain so. BJP and RSS are only spreading hatred. Muslims have contributed a lot to save India and drive out the British rulers. We are also citizens of our country, and we should be treated with humaneness. It was our Prophet who had said, that I smell the sense of love from Hindusthan, and every Muslim will therefore continue to love Hindusthan. If any danger befalls our land, Muslims will be ready to sacrifice their lives.”
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, whose party is now an ally of Congress and NCP, first praised Mohan Bhagwat, saying “he is our ‘marg-darshak’ (guide), but BJP leaders should learn from him. Raut said, if BJP leaders indulge in Hindu-Muslim rhetoric, the nation will break up. You can’t do politics of long by capitalizing on fear among the people.”
Muslim ulema welcomed Bhagwat’s statement. Maulana Yaqub Abbas said, “the Muslims of India today do not correlate themselves with the Mughal emperors”. Maulana Sufiyan Nizami said, “Muslims in India are not living in fear, nor are they fighting for supremacy.”
You may have noticed that different political leaders interpreted Mohan Bhagwat’s remarks differently, the way it suited them. While Congress leaders claimed that it was because of the ‘success’ of Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra, Owaisi was saying that Bhagwat’s remark are meant for the run-up to 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Sanjay Raut found a lesson from BJP from Bhagwat’s remark.
This is not the first time that the RSS chief has spoken about Muslims. On September 19, 2018, Bhagwat had said, ‘the day we start saying that we do not need Muslims in India, Hindutva will cease to exist.’ In April, 2019, Bhagwat said, Hindus and Muslims are like brothers, only their mode of worship is different and there is no need to fear each other.
On July 5, 2021, Bhagwat said, ‘those involved in mob lynching cannot be real Hindus. On September 19, 2022, Bhagwat visited a mosque in Delhi. On October 5, 2022, Bhagwat spoke on Gyanvapi mosque dispute in Kashi, and said, ‘it was not good to find out ‘Shivling’ every where and created controversies. This must stop.’
There are umpteen instances when Bhagwat made remarks about Muslims. At that time, neither Rahul Gandhi was on his Yatra, nor was there any runup to 2024 polls.
If you look at the RSS chief’s statement in totality, one thing will be clear. He did not speak about Muslims only. He also spoke about Hindus, and said, they should shun the mentality of being superior to others. I think Bhagwat’s remarks should be seen in this context.
Every citizen in India has equal rights. It does not matter who follows which religion. But in our daily life, we find politicians creating fear in the minds of people to garner votes. Some create fear in the minds of Hindus, while some do the same with Muslims. Many religious leaders are also involved in this. The moot point is this: there is no need to fear nor is the need to create fear. There is no need to display ‘supremacy’ by resorting to violence and ‘dadagiri’. If people start behaving in a correct manner, it will help us all.
पाकिस्तान में आटे का संकट : नेता और फौज के जनरल ज़िम्मेवार
पाकिस्तान के लोग दाने-दाने को मोहताज हो गए हैं। यहां की आधी-आबादी को दो वक्त की रोटी नहीं मिल रही है। संकट की गंभीरता का अंदाजा इसी से लगाया जा सकता है कि यहां आटे की लूट मची है। सब्सिडी वाली अनाज की दुकानों के बाहर लंबी कतारें देखी जा रही हैं। देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों में आटा लेने के चक्कर में हुई भगदड़, हाथापाई और मारपीट में कम से कम चार लोगों की मौत हो गई है। सिंध के शहीद बेनजीराबाद जिले के सकरंद कस्बे में एक आटा मिल के बाहर भगदड़ मच गई जिससे तीन महिलाओं की मौत हो गई।
सिंध के मीरपुर खास जिले में आटे से भरी बोरी ले जा रहे खाद्य विभाग के ट्रक के पास भगदड़ मच गई। इस भीड़ और भगदड़ में भीड़ ने एक मजदूर को कुचल दिया । पाकिस्तान के पंजाब, खैबर पख्तूनख्वा, सिंध और बलूचिस्तान प्रांतों में लोग आटे के लिए तरस रहे हैं। ज्यादातर लोग काम पर जाने के बजाय आटा खरीदने के लिए घंटों लाइन में लगे रहते हैं।
मंगलवार की रात अपने प्राइम टाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में हमने आपको बलूचिस्तान में एक आटा मिल के बाहर लंबी कतारें और आटे की बोरियां ले जा रहे ट्रकों के पीछे भागते लोगों के दृश्य दिखाए। यहां लोग खुलेआम ट्रकों से आटे की थैलियां लूटी जा रही हैं, जिसके चलते आपस में हाथापाई और मारपीट हो रही है।
हमने आपको सिंध प्रांत के सक्खर का दृश्य दिखाया जहां लोगों ने एक शख्स से आटे की थैली छीन ली। वह शख्स अपने बच्चों की जान बचाने की दलील देता रहा लेकिन किसी ने उसकी दलील नहीं सुनी। लोग फुटपाथ पर बैठकर रो रहे हैं और इस संकट के लिए सरकार को दोष दे रहे हैं। कराची में आटा 140 रुपये से 160 रुपये किलो के भाव से बिक रहा है, जबकि इस्लामाबाद और पेशावर में 10 किलो आटा 1500 रुपये और 20 किलो आटा 2800 रुपये में बिक रहा है।
पंजाब में मिल मालिक 160 रुपए किलो के भाव से आटा बेच रहे हैं। खैबर पख्तूनख्वा में 20 किलो आटे के एक बैग की कीमत 3,100 रुपये तक पहुंच गई है, जबकि बलूचिस्तान में आटे की कीमत 200 रुपये प्रति किलो हो गई है। सरकार रियायती दरों पर आटा बांटने की कोशिश तो कर रही है लेकिन यह समुद्र में एक बूंद की तरह नजर आ रहा है। लोग मायूस हैं और आटे के लिए 200 रुपये किलो भी देने को तैयार हैं।
हताश और परेशान लोगों की भीड़ से ट्रकों और आटा मिलों की सुरक्षा के लिए हथियारों से लैस पुलिसकर्मियों को तैनात किया गया है। पेशावर में एक शख्स आटे की बोरियां ले जा रहे एक ट्रक के आगे सड़क पर लेट गया। वह आटे की मांग कर रहा था। वह पुलिसकर्मियों से कह रहा था कि अगर उसे आटा नहीं दिया गया तो जान दे देगा। वह कह रहा था, ‘हम सबको मार दो, हमें आटा नहीं चाहिए, हमारे शरीर पर ट्रक चढ़ा दो। हम जिंदा नहीं रहना चाहते हैं और आटे के लिए लाइन में नहीं लगेंगे। हम सबको मार डालो।’
एक महिला ने कहा, ‘हमारा परिवार पिछले तीन दिनों से भूखा है। मैं रोटी बनाने के लिए 50 रुपये से 100 रुपये तक आटा खरीद रही थी। मैं अपने बच्चों को कैसे बचाऊं?’ क्वेटा, मुल्तान, झंग, स्यालकोट, मीरपुर खास, हैदराबाद या वजीराबाद में हर जगह एक जैसे हालात हैं। हर तरफ लोगों की लंबी कतारें हैं।
पाकिस्तान में पिछले कुछ हफ्तों में आटे की कीमत दोगुनी और तिगुनी हुई है। 10 किलोग्राम आटे के बैग के लिए लोग 20 से 24 घंटे कतार में खड़े रहते हैं। मिल मालिक आटे की कमी के लिए सरकार को जिम्मेदार ठहरा रहे हैं जबकि प्रांतीय सरकारें संकट के लिए प्रधानमंत्री शहबाज शरीफ की सरकार को जिम्मेदार ठहरा रही हैं। दरअसल, पाकिस्तान में पिछले कई सालों से गेहूं का उत्पादन घट रहा है। गेहूं का आयात हो रहा है, लेकिन सरकार संकट से उबर नहीं पा रही है।
नवाज शरीफ की पाकिस्तान मुस्लिम लीग (एन) और बिलावल भुट्टो जरदारी की पाकिस्तान पीपुल्स पार्टी इस संकट के लिए पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री इमरान खान को जिम्मेदार ठहरा रही है। ख़ैबर पख़्तूनख़्वा प्रांत के बन्नू शहर में एक डॉक्टर ने आटे की कमी का विरोध करते हुए एक व्यस्त चौराहे पर ख़ुद को पिंजरे में बंद कर लिया। डॉक्टर ने कहा कि हुकूमत किसी की भी हो, अवाम हर सरकार के दौर में लुटती आई है।
पाकिस्तान का विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार तेजी से घट रहा है। उसके पास केवल 6.7 बिलियन डॉलर का विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार है। बाहर से आनेवाले सामानों का भुगतान करने के लिए मुश्किल से एक सप्ताह का विदेशी मुद्रा पाकिस्तान के पास बचा है। भारत के सबसे अमीर बिजनेसमैन गौतम अडानी के पास पाकिस्तान के रिजर्व से 22 गुना ज्यादा संपत्ति है। मुकेश अंबानी की संपत्ति पाकिस्तान के विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार से 15 गुना अधिक है। यहां तक कि पाकिस्तान के सबसे भरोसेमंद सहयोगी चीन ने भी आर्थिक मदद देने से इनकार कर दिया है।
सऊदी अरब और कुछ अन्य देश पहले ही कर्ज दे चुके हैं, लेकिन पाकिस्तान के पास किस्त चुकाने के लिए पैसे नहीं है। बुधवार को वित्त मंत्री इशाक डार ने खुलासा किया कि संयुक्त राष्ट्र द्वारा आयोजित जिनेवा सम्मेलन में बाढ़ प्रभावित पाकिस्तान के लिए दी गई 10 बिलियन डॉलर की मदद का करीब 90 प्रतिशत हिस्सा परियोजना ऋण के रूप में है, जो अगले तीन वर्षों के लिए रोलओवर किया जाएगा। जिस वक्त डार यह ऐलान कर रहे थे उस वक्त पीएम शाहबाज शरीफ भी उनके पास बैठे थे। डार ने कहा कि 8.7 अरब डॉलर की मदद लोन के रूप में है।
पाकिस्तान के सेना प्रमुख जनरल सैयद आसिम मुनीर ने पिछले दो दिनों में सऊदी अरब के प्रिंस सलमान और यूएई के राष्ट्रपति से मुलाकात कर उनसे मदद मांगी, लेकिन किसी तरह का कोई ऐलान नहीं हुआ। सबसे हैरान करने वाली बात यह है कि पाकिस्तान के किसी नेता के घर में आटे की कमी नहीं है। सबके घर में तंदूरी परांठों के साथ चिकन मटन और बिरयानी की दावतें हो रही हैं और पाकिस्तान की अवाम भूख से मर रही है।
पाकिस्तान के लोगों की परेशानी और उनकी तकलीफ को देखकर दुख होता है। उनकी इस हालत के लिए कोई और नहीं खुद पाकिस्तान की सरकारें, वहां की सियासी पार्टियां और पाकिस्तान की फौज जिम्मेदार है। जबसे पाकिस्तान बना है तब से वहां की सरकार ने इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर बनाने के बजाए हथियार बनाने पर जोर दिया। लोक कल्याण पर खर्च करने के बजाए आतंकवाद और फौज पर पैसा खर्च किया।
मैं कुछ आंकड़े देख रहा था जो हैरान करने वाले थे। पाकिस्तान की सरकार शिक्षा पर जितना खर्च करती है उससे छह गुना ज्यादा पैसा अपनी फौज पर खर्च करती है। पाकिस्तान में कारखाने बिजनेसमैन नहीं लगाते बल्कि फौज वहां फैक्ट्रियां चलाती हैं। फौजी जनरल्स के पास हजारों एकड़ जमीन है। पाकिस्तान का सारा पैसा या तो नेताओं के पास है…या फौजी अफसरों के पास। इस पूरे संकट की जड़ यही है।
