ललन ने झूठ क्यों बोला, मीडिया पर दोष क्यों मढ़ा?
नीतीश कुमार ने जनता दल (यूनाइटेड) को पूरी तरह से अपने क़ब्ज़े में ले लिया. नीतीश कुमार JD-U के अध्यक्ष और राजीव रंजन उर्फ ललन सिंह JD-U के पूर्व अध्यक्ष हो गए. दिल्ली में JD-U की राष्ट्रीय परिषद की दो दिन तक चली बैठक का लक्ष्य ही था, ललन सिंह को अध्यक्ष पद से हटाकर नीतीश कुमार को बनाना था. हालांकि कहने को ललन सिंह ने खुद अपने पद से इस्तीफे का प्रस्ताव रखा, फिर नीतीश को अध्यक्ष बनाने का प्रस्ताव भी ललन सिंह का ही था और दोनों प्रस्तावों को नीतीश कुमार ने ख़ुशी ख़ुशी स्वीकार कर लिया. ललन सिंह की स्क्रिप्ट भी वही थी. उन्होंने कहा कि लोकसभा चुनाव के दौरान वह अपने क्षेत्र में व्यस्त रहेंगे, पार्टी को वक्त नहीं दे पाएंगे इसलिए पद छोड़ना चाहते हैं. कुल मिलाकर हुआ वही, जो पहले से तय था. सवाल सिर्फ इतना है कि जब कुछ तय हो गया था, जब सारी दुनिया को पता था, तो किस बात की गोपनीयता रखी जा रही थी. जो बात जगज़ाहिर थी, वो खबर बताने के लिए मीडिया पर इल्जाम लगाने की क्या जरूरत थी.? बार बार झूठ बोलने की क्या वजह थी.? ललन सिंह, तेजस्वी यादव, के सी त्यागी, विजय चौधरी .जैसे नेता, कल किस तरह झूठ बोल रहे थे और आज उन्होंने पलटी मारी. JD-U में क्या होने वाला है, इसकी ख़बर सबको थी. सबको मालूम था कि ललन सिंह की कुर्सी जाने वाली है. नीतीश कुमार JD-U के अध्यक्ष बनने वाले हैं. सिर्फ JD-U के नेता इससे इनकार कर रहे थे. नीतीश कुमार ने पूरी स्क्रिप्ट कई दिन पहले तैयार कर ली थी. पांच दिन पहले ललन सिंह को अपना प्लान बता दिया था लेकिन नीतीश को ललन सिंह पर भरोसा नहीं था., इसीलिए जब तक ललन सिंह इस्तीफा नहीं दे देते,तब तक कोई कुछ नहीं कहेगा, ये हिदायत JD-U के नेताओं को दी गई थी. शुक्रवार को ललन सिंह JD-U के पूर्व अध्यक्ष हो गए तो कुछ नहीं बोले, लेकिन गुरुवार तक जब पार्टी के अध्यक्ष थे तो खूब बोल रहे थे. वो भी मीडिया को कोस रहे थे. ललन सिंह ने कहा था कि जब अध्यक्ष पद से इस्तीफा देने का विचार आएगा तो पहले पत्रकारों को बुलाकर पूछंगे, .जब पत्रकार कह देंगे , तो इस्तीफे में क्या लिखना है ये भी रिपोर्टर्स से पूछेंगे. फिर जब पत्रकार बीजेपी के दफ्तर से इस्तीफे के ड्राफ्ट को मंजूरी दिला लाएंगे, तब इस्तीफा देंगे लेकिन शुक3वार को ललन सिंह ने ये नहीं बताया कि उन्होंने इस्तीफे का फैसला, क्या रात भर में कर लिया. फिर इस्तीफे का ड्राफ्ट भी खुद ही तैयार कर लिया या किसी और से लिखवाया. ऐसे बहुत से नेता है जो एक ज़माने में नीतीश के करीबी थे., नीतीश ने उन्हें आगे बढ़ाया, फिर उनका वही हाल हुआ जो आज ललन सिंह का हुआ . ऐसे कई नेता शुक्रवार को खुलकर बोले. JD-U के पूर्व उपाध्यक्ष उपेन्द्र कुशवाहा ने कहा कि उन्हें कोई हैरानी नहीं हुई. क्योंकि ललन सिंह लालू यादव के कहने पर चल रहे थे, इसलिए नीतीश ने उन्हें अध्यक्ष पद से हटाया. उपेंद्र कुशवाहा ने कहा कि अब नीतीश कुछ भी कर लें, JD-U को बर्बाद होने से कोई नहीं बचा सकेगा. उपेन्द्र कुशवाहा की तरह जीतनराम मांझी भी दूध के जले हैं. मांझी को तो नीतीश ने अपनी जगह मुख्यमंत्री बनाया, फिर बेइज्जत करके हटाया और कुछ हफ्ते पहले विधानसभा में यहां तक कह दिया कि इस गधे को मुख्यमंत्री बनाना मेरे जीवन की सबसे बड़ी गलती थी. .उन्हीं जीतनराम मांझी ने शुक्रवार को खुलासा किया कि वो कुछ दिन पहले नीतीश कुमार से मिले थे और उन्हें बताया था कि RJD में क्या खिचड़ी पक रही है, इसलिए तेजस्वी को मुख्यमंत्री बनाकर दूसरी बार बड़ी गलती मत करिएगा. मांझी ने कहा कि कुछ दिन पहले, ललन सिंह और JDU के 12-13 विधायक तेजस्वी को CM बनाने का प्रस्ताव लेकर नीतीश के पास गए भी थे, इसके बाद ही नीतीश को समझ आ गया कि उनके खिलाफ साज़िश हो रही है, इसीलिए उन्होंने ललन सिंह को अध्यक्ष पद से हटाने का फ़ैसला किया. केंद्रीय मंत्री गिरिराज सिंह ने कहा कि सब लालू का खेल है, जिसमें नीतीश फंस गए हैं, अब छपटपटा रहे हैं. गिरिराज ने कहा लालू यादव किसी भी तरह तेजस्वी को मुख्यमंत्री बनाना चाहते हैं और नीतीश कुर्सी छोड़ने को तैयार नहीं हैं, इसलिए, बहुत जल्दी लालू स्पीकर से मिलकर नीतीश के साथ खेला करेंगे. शुक्रवार को तेजस्वी यादव ने कहा कि JD-U के नेतृत्व में बदलाव हुआ है, ये पार्टी का आंतरिक मसला है, इससे RJD-JDU के रिश्तों पर कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ेगा. तेजस्वी ने फिर मीडिया पर तोहमत लगाने की कोशिश की, कहा कि मीडिया बीजेपी के इशारे पर चलता है. आज ये सच सामने आ गया कि ललन सिंह एक दिन पहले तक खुलेआम झूठ बोल रहे थे और रिपोर्टर्स को झूठा करार दे रहे थे. तेजस्वी यादव मीडिया की जिन खबरों को बकवास कह रहे थे वो शत प्रतिशत सच साबित हुई .मुझे इस बात को लेकर कोई गिला नहीं कि ललन ने झूठ बोला या तेजस्वी ने गलत बयानी की, जनता जानती है कि इस तरह की बातें करना इन सबकी आदत है. मेरी शिकायत इस बात से है कि इन दोनों ने पत्रकारों पर लांछन लगाया. इन्होंने अखबारों और मीडिया चैनल्स पर निहायत ही घटिया आरोप लगया. ललन सिंह ने रिपोर्टर्स से कहा कि आप बीजेपी की लिखी हुई स्क्रिप्ट पढ़ रहे हैं. आज सच सामने आया, पूरी दुनिया को पता चल गया कि स्क्रिप्ट नीतीश कुमार और ललन सिंह ने मिलकर लिखी थी. तेजस्वी यादव को भी असलियत का पता था लेकिन ये सारे लोग जानते बूझते असत्य बोल रहे थे. आजकल ये फैशन हो गया है कि नेता सच जानते हैं, पर छुपाते हैं. अगर मीडिया उनकी पोल खोल दे तो मीडिया पर उल्टे सीधे आरोप लगाते हैं. ये समस्या ललन सिंह और तेजस्वी यादव से लेकर राहुल गांधी और अखिलेश यादव तक सब में दिखाई देती है. सब मीडिया से कहते हैं, आप सरकार से डरते हैं, मोदी से डरते हैं, असलियत ये है कि डरते तो ये सब नेता हैं. पलटी तो ये नेता मारते हैं. आपस में एक दूसरे को धोखा तो ये नेता देते हैं और जब मन करता है तो मीडिया को दोष देते हैं. अब इस बात की क्या गारंटी है कि ललन सिंह नीतीश कुमार की पीठ में छुरा नहीं घोपेंगे? इस बात की क्या गारंटी है कि लालू और तेजस्वी नीतीश के नीचे से उनकी कुर्सी नहीं खींचेंगे? और क्या गारंटी है कि नीतीश कुमार पलटी नहीं मारेंगे? लालू को धोखा नहीं देंगे? मेरा कहना है कि ये नेता आपस में जो चाहे कहें, जितनी मर्जी पलटी मारें, पर अपने कर्मों के लिए, चुनाव में अपनी हार के लिए मीडिया को दोष न दें. हमारे रिपोर्टर्स को अपना काम करने दें और संपादकों के कमेंट्स पर मुंह फुलाना बंद करें. मैं इन झूठ बोलने वालों को मशहूर शायर कृशन बिहारी शर्मा ‘नूर’ का एक शेर सुनना चाहता हूँ – “सच घटे या बढ़े, तो सच न रहे, झूठ की कोई इंतहा ही नहीं … चाहे सोने के फ्रेम में जड़ दो, आईना झूठ बोलता ही नहीं” .
WHY DID LALAN LIE AND BLAME MEDIA?
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took full control over his party Janata Dal (United) on Friday, after Lalan Singh resigned as party president . Lalan Singh proposed the name of Nitish Kumar for the post of party president at the two day meeting of the national council in Delhi. He said, he would be busy in his constituency during the forthcoming Lok Sabha election and would be unable to carry on with the responsibility of party chief. For the last three days, Lalan Singh, Tejashwi Yadav, K C Tyagi and Vijay Chowdhary had been trying their best to shroud this development in secrecy and were openly telling lies on camera. They were blaming the media for speculating on a development that ultimately took place, but for several days, they were consistently denying any such possibility. At the national council meeting of JD(U), all the leaders present knew what was going to happen. Nitish Kumar had told Lalan Singh about his plan for change of guard five days ago in Patna. Yet he did not trust him fully. There were strict instructions to the leaders not to reveal anything to the media till the time Lalan announced his resignation. Nitish Kumar had hectic consultations with Lalan Singh, and on Friday, he took him in his car to attend the meting. At the meeting, Nitish “humbly accepted” the responsibility of party chief and left with Lalan Singh. In Patna, Upendra Kushwaha, who was once JD-U vice president, and broke away from the party early this year to form his Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal said, he was not surprised over the development. He alleged that Lalan Singh was following instructions from RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, because of which Nitish removed him from the post of party president. Another former JD-U leader Jitan Ram Manjhi, who was unceremoniously removed as chief minister by Nitish Kumar, and was recently described as an “ass” by the chief minister inside the assembly, disclosed that he had met Nitish a few days ago and had warned him not to make the mistake of appointing Lalu’s son Tejashwi Yadav as the chief minister. Manjhi revealed that Lalan Singh had taken 12 to 13 MLAs a few days ago and had told Nitish to make Tejashwi the new CM,. Nitish immediately smelled a conspiracy and made up his mind to remove Lalan Singh from party chief post. Union Minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh described the entire development as “Lalu’s game”. He said, Nitish has been caught in the spider’s web. Singh said, Lalu has decided to anoint his son Tejashwi as CM, but Nitish is unwilling to quit. In Patna, Tejashwi Yadav described the change of guard in JD(U) as an internal matter of that party and said it would have no impact on RJD-JD(U) relations. He blamed BJP for floating conspiracy theories. Now that the cat is out of the bag, it is pertinent to point out how JD(U) leaders were blaming media for spreading lies during the last few days. On Thursday, Tejashwi Yadav was describing media reports about Lalan’s ouster as “baseless speculation”, but these proved true on the very next day. I have no complaints about Lalan Singh telling lies, or Tejashwi making false statements. The common people know that leaders do tell lies in public. My only complaint is that both these leaders blamed journalists for reporting the truth, and used foul words against some newspapers and news channels. Lalan Singh had alleged that reporters were reading from scripts prepared by BJP. But the truth was out on Friday. The script for change of guard in JD(U) was jointly written by Nitish Kumar and Lalan Singh. Tejashwi Yadav knew the truth, but these leaders were deliberately speaking untruths in public. It has now become a fashion for most leaders, who, in order to hide the truth, blame media for spreading untruths. Not only Lalan Singh and Tejashwi Yadav, but also leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav blame the media whenever they find it convenient. They openly say in public meetings that the media is “afraid” of Modi and his government. The fact is, these leaders are themselves afraid, they make political somersaults and deceive each other, but they blame media for spreading “lies”. Where is the guarantee that Lalan Singh will not stab Nitish Kumar in his back? Where is the guarantee that Lala and Tejashwi will not pull Nitish down? Where is the guarantee that Nitish Kumar will not make another somersault as ‘paltu Chacha’ and deceive Lalu again? My view is: whatever these leaders may say or do in politics, or make somersaults, they should desist from blaming media for their problems and electoral defeats. Leaders should allow reporters to do their jobs fearlessly and they should stop being angry over the comments made by editors. For such leaders, I want to quote an Urdu couplet of Krishna Bihari Sharma ‘Noor”: “Sach Ghate Ya Badhe, Toh Sach Na Rahe, Jhooth Ki Koi Inteha Hi Nahin…..Chahe Sone Ke Frame Mein Jad Do, Aaina Jhooth Bolta Hi Nahin”. (Literal meaning: Truth never remains so, if you add or subtract, there is no limit to lies…. even if fixed inside a gold frame, the mirror never lies).
मोदी की कूटनीति : क़तर में कैसे 8 भारतीयों की फांसी की सज़ा क़ैद में तबदील हुई
क़तर की कोर्ट ने भारतीय नौसेना के आठ पूर्व अफसरों की मौत की सज़ा को कैद में तब्दील कर दिया है. इन पूर्व अफसरों को जासूसी के इल्जाम में मौत की सजा सुनाई गई थी लेकिन भारत सरकार के कूटनीतिक प्रयासों को पहली और बड़ी कामयाबी मिली. कतर के कोर्ट ऑफ अपील्स ने उनकी मौत की सजा को कैद में तब्दील कर दिया. विदेश मंत्रालय ने बताया कि कतर की कोर्ट ऑफ़ अपील्स में जिस वक्त सुनवाई हुई उस वक्त 8 भारतीय नागरिकों के परिवार वालों के साथ साथ, क़तर में भारत के राजदूत और इंडियन मिशन के कई अफसर कोर्ट में मौजूद थे. विदेश मंत्रालय ने कहा है कि अभी फैसले का ब्यौरा सामने नहीं आया है, और चूंकि मामला नाज़ुक है इसलिए फिलहाल इस पर ज्यादा जानकारी नहीं दी जा सकती. क़तर की कोर्ट ऑफ अपील्स का विस्तृत फ़ैसला मिलने के बाद इन 8 भारतीयों के परिवारों के साथ मिलकर आगे की रणनीति तय की जाएगी. कतर की कोर्ट ऑफ अपील्स का फैसला राहत देने वाला है. सरकार ने पिछले दो महीनों में कतर सरकार के साथ हर स्तर पर मुद्दे को उठाया, कोर्ट में जबरदस्त पैरवी की और इसका नतीजा देश के सामने हैं. विदेश मंत्रालय की तरफ से कहा गया है कि सरकार इस मामले को यही नहीं खत्म नहीं करेगी. नौसेना के पूर्व अधिकारियों की सजा को और कम कैसे करवाया जा सकता है या उन्हें भारत कैसे लाया जा सकता है, इस रणनीति पर काम जारी रहेगा. क़तर की गुप्तचर एजेंसी स्टेट सिक्यूरिटी ब्यूरो ने पिछले साल अगस्त में कतर की एक प्राइवेट कंपनी में काम कर रहे नौसेना के आठ पूर्व अफसरों को जासूसी के इल्जाम में गिरफ्तार किया था, कोर्ट में गुपचुप चरीके से सुनवाई हुई और दो महीने पहले अक्टूबर में सभी को सजा-ए-मौत सुनाई गई. जैसे ही भारतीय नागरिकों को मौत की सजा की खबर आई, तो नरेन्द्र मोदी सरकार ने बिना देर किए कतर की सरकार से संपर्क किया. वहां की न्यायिक प्रणाली के तहत कदम उठाए, सजा के खिलाफ अपील की, मजबूती से अपना पक्ष रखा और आज बड़ी कामयाबी हासिल की. राजनयिकों और रक्षा विशेषज्ञों का कहना है कि अरब मुल्कों में मौत की सजा पा चुके किसी भी व्यक्ति को छुड़वाना या उसकी सजा को कम करवाना बहुत ही पेचीदा काम होता है, भारत सरकार इसमें कामयाब हुई है, ये छोटी बात नहीं है. भारतीय नौसेना के जो 8 पूर्व अधिकारी कतर की कंपनी में काम करते समय गिरफ्तार हुए थे, उनके नाम हैं – कैप्टन (रि.)नवतेज सिंह गिल, कैप्टन (रि.)सौरभ वशिष्ठ, कमांडर (रि.)पूर्णेंदु तिवारी, कमांडर (रि.)अमित नागपाल, कमांडर (रि.)बी के वर्मा, कमांडर (रि.)सुगनकर पकाला, कमांडर (रि.)एस के गुप्ता और सेलर (रि.)रागेश. भारत सरकार के पूर्व विदेश सचिव शशांक ने बड़ी अहम बात कही. उनका कहना है कि कई भारत विरोधी मुल्क खाज़ी के क्षेत्र में सक्रिय हैं. वो चाहते हैं कि भारत और खाडी के मुल्कों के बीच रिश्ते बिगड़ें, मोदी सरकार की छवि ख़राब हो, क्योंकि 2014 के में प्रधानमंत्री बनने के बाद से ही मोदी खाड़ी के मुल्कों के साथ भारत के रिश्ते बेहतर बनाने पर ज़ोर देते रहे हैं. सऊदी अरब, संयुक्त अरब अमीरात, बहरीन, ओमान और क़तर जैसे देशों के साथ भारत के संबंध काफ़ी बेहतर हुए हैं. इसलिए अब क़तर की अदालत के इस फ़ैसले ने भारत के दुश्मन देशों की साज़िशों पर पानी फेर दिया है. विदेश मंत्रालय की तरफ़ से सबसे पहले सारे भारतीयों के लिए कॉन्सुलर एक्सेस मांगा गया. कॉन्सुलर एक्सेस मिलने के बाद भारतीय दूतावास के अधिकारी इन आठ भारतीयों से जेल में मिले, उनसे पूरे मामले की जानकारी ली, परिवारों के लोग भी जेल जाकर उनसे मिले, इसके बाद इस मामले को कतर में सर्वोच्च स्तर पर उठाया गया. ख़ुद प्रधानमंत्री मोदी सक्रिय हुए. इसी महीने मोदी जब COP28 शिखर सम्मेलन में हिस्सा लेने दुबई गए थे, तो वहां उन्होंने क़तर के अमीर, शेख़ तमीम बिन हमाद अल थानी से मुलाक़ात की. बातचीत के दौरान मोदी ने भारतीय पूर्व नौसैनिकों को मौत की सज़ा का मुद्दा उठाया. इसके बाद भारतीय राजनयिकों ने मौत की सज़ा के ख़िलाफ़ क़तर की अदालत में अपील करने में परिजनों की मदद की और अब ये राहत भरी ख़बर आई है. विदेशी मामलों के जानकार मानते हैं कि आगे चलकर, क़तर में क़ैद इन 8 भारतीयों को वापस लाने के दो विकल्प हो सकते हैं. एक तो क़तर के अमीर हर साल अपने देश की जेलों में बंद लोगों की सज़ाएं माफ़ करते हैं. हो सकता है वो इन भारतीयों की सज़ा को माफ़ करके उन्हें भारत लौटने की छूट दे दें, या फिर ये भी हो सकता है कि दोनों देशों की सरकारों के बीच ये समझौता हो जाए कि ये आठों रिटायर अधिकारियों को बाक़ी की सज़ा, भारत की जेल में काटने की इजाज़त दे दी जाए. रिटायर्ड वाइस एडमिरल अनिल चावला ने उम्मीद जताई कि बहुत जल्द ये आठों भारतीय नागरिक भारत देश लौट आएंगे क्योंकि 2015 में भारत और क़तर के बीच एक समझौता हुआ था. इस समझौते के तहत क़तर में सज़ा काटने वाले भारतीय नागरिकों और भारत की जेलों में बंद क़तर के नागरिकों को सज़ा काटने के लिए उनके देश भेजने का प्रावधान है. नौसेना के 8 रिटार्यड अफसरों की किस्मत का आखिरी फैसला कतर के अमीर के हाथ में होगा. अमीर के पास किसी भी अपराधी की सजा माफ करने का अधिकार है, परंपरा के मुताबिक क़तर के अमीर रमादान के दौरान सजा माफ करते हैं. सजा माफ करने का एक और मौका कतर का राष्ट्रीय दिवस होता है, जो 18 दिसंबर को पड़ता है. इसीलिए इस बार राष्ट्रीय दिवस का विकल्प तो सामने नही हैं और रमादान के महीने का इंतजार करना पड़ेगा. कतर में अमीर द्वारा सजा की माफी तभी होती है जब कानूनी प्रक्रिया द्वारा अपील करने के बाकी सारे विकल्प खत्म हो जाते हैं. इसीलिए एक तरफ तो हमारे रिटायर्ड नेवी अफसरों के लिए बड़ी राहत की बात है कि उनकी सजा-ए-मौत उम्र कैद में तबदील कर दी गई है और दूसरी राहत की बात ये है कि उन्हें रिहा करने के कई विकल्प अभी खुले हैं. क़तर और भारत के संबंध हमेशा अच्छे रहे हैं. जब जब पाकिस्तान ने भारत के खिलाफ शरारत की तो क़तर ने हमेशा भारत का समर्थन किया. इसीलिए उम्मीद है कि इस बार भी क़तर हमारे नागरिकों के साथ उदार रवैया दिखाएंगा.
MODI DIPLOMACY : HOW DEATH PENALTY FOR INDIANS WAS COMMUTED IN QATAR
The Court of Appeal in Qatar has commuted the death sentence given to eight former Indian Navy personnel on charges of alleged espionage. India’s diplomatic efforts achieved a big breakthrough on Thursday, when the appellate court commuted the death penalty given to all the eight accused. A statement from India’s Ministry of External Affairs said: “We have noted the verdict today of the Court of Appeal of Qatar in the Dahra Global case, in which the sentences have been reduced. The detailed judgement is awaited. We are in close touch with the legal team as well as the family members to decide on the next steps.” Family members of the eight convicted Indians, the Indian Ambassador and several officers of the Indian embassy were present, when the court commuted the death penalty. Thursday’s verdict has come as a relief to family members and well wishers of the former Indian Navy personnel. The Indian government had raised the issue with the Qatari government for the last two months at different levels. The result is there for all to see. The eight former Navy personnel, Captain Navtej Singh Gill, Captain Saurabh Vashisht, Commander Purnendu Tiwari, Captain Birendra Kumar Verma, Commander Sugunakar Pakala, Commander Sanjeev Gupta, Commander Amit Nagpal and Sailer Ragesh were working in Qatar for a defence services prover company named Al Dahra Global Technologies and Consultancy Services. In August, 2022, Qatari intelligence agency State Security Bureau arrested them on charges of “spying”, while working for Dahra Global. This company was engaged in training Qatari military personnel and was also working on induction of Italian small stealth submarines U2I2 for Qatari Emiri Naval Force. Retd Commander Purnendu Tiwari was the managing director of the company and the former Navy personnel had been working in the company for the last four to six years. In jail, the former Navy personnel were kept in solitary confinement and had limited access to their relatives over phone. In March this year, the last of their several bail pleas was rejected, the trial began in the same month and on October 26, the court handed them the death sentence, creating shock waves in India. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met the relatives of the convicted ex-Navy personnel and assured them full assistance. In November, an appeal was filed, and on December 3, the Indian Ambassador met them in jail. This consular access came two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on the sidelines of COP28 summit in Dubai. The External Affairs Ministry is now working on options to further reduce the jail sentence and ensure that the ex-Navy personnel are brought back to India. Former Indian diplomats and defence experts say that seeking acquittal or release of persons given death sentence in Gulf countries is a complicated exercise, and Indian government has managed to avert the death penalty, which speaks for itself. Former Foreign Secretary Shashank said, there are several countries active in the Gulf region to tarnish Prime Minister Modi’s image and spoil India’s friendly relations with Gulf countries. Prime Minister Modi has been tirelessly working on deepening friendship bonds with Gulf countries like UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia since coming to power in 2014. The Qatari appellate court’s Thursday order has foiled the conspiracy hatched by enemies of India in the Gulf. The main credit goes to Prime Minister Modi, who took personal interest in the case and raised the matter at the highest level with Qatar. There are options now available for release of the Indians from Qatari jail. They can file mercy pleas with the Emir, who is known to grant pardon to convicts at the time of Eid or Ramadan or on Qatari National Day (December 18). Retd Vice-Admiral Anil Chawla said, the eight ex-Navy personnel may soon return to their homeland because India and Qatar had signed a bilateral agreement in 2015 under which Indian or Qatari prisoners serving time in jails can be sent to their respective countries. The final decision rests with the Emir of Qatar, who has the powers to grant pardon to convicts. The family members of the former Navy personnel can now heave a sigh of relief. Relations between India and Qatar had always been friendly. Qatar had supported India every time Pakistan did some mischief. Let us hope Qatar will adopt a liberal attitude for our citizens.
A GRAND RAM TEMPLE IN AYODHYA : THE GAMECHANGER
The sanctum sanctorum of Lord Ram Temple in Ayodhya is almost ready. In the next 72 hours, one out of the three idols of Ram Lala, made by sculptors, will be selected for installation. All the five mandaps of Ram Temple have been built, while work on the first floor is almost complete. Installation of exquisite statuettes and carving of temple wall is complete. At present, work is going on for gold plating the doors of the sanctum sanctorum and the throne on which the idol will be installed. The temple’s structure can now be seen from the sky and the contours of the temple are fast taking a final shape. Work is going on 21 acres out of a total of 70 acres of the vast temple complex, with more than two-third area kept reserved for greenery. The temple has been built on only 2.7 acres of land. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform the ‘Pran Prathistha’ (statue installation) pooja on January 22 in the presence of a big gathering of sadhus and other personalities. Devotees can enter the temple from the South Gate after ascending 32 steps of staircase. There are three main gates of the temple – Lion Gate, Elephant Gate and Hanuman Gate. Devotees can rease the basement by passing through these gates. Five mandaps – Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Prarthana Mandap , Sabha Mandap and Kirtan Mandap – have been built for devotees to sit and worship. The walls of these mandaps have been beautifully carved, with statuettes of Hindu gods and goddesses set in the walls. The sanctum sanctorum (Garbha griha) of the temple is square shaped with each side 20 feet long and the height is 161 feet. The sanctum sanctorum’s floor has been laid with white Makrana marble brought from Rajasthan. The temple structure has been erected in such a manner that it will remain strong for nearly a thousand years. Nripendra Mishra, retired bureaucrat and the chairman of Ram Mandir Nirman Samiti said, the earlier plan prepared before the Supreme Court verdict was to build a small Ram temple, but after the apex court allowed the construction, the original design was changed. The Ram Lala statue presently being worshipped at the makeshift temple, will be installed in the ’garbha griha’, but it is too small, and devotees may find it difficult to watch it from a distance. In its place, a 51 inch tall new idol of Ram Lala will be installed. The idol is of a five-year-old child, matching the description of Lord Ram’s childhood figure, as described in Valmiki’s Ramayana. Three idols, two black and one white, have been sculpted, out of which one idol will be chosen on December 29 by the committee. The announcement about the selected idol will be made in the first week of January by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The selected idol will be installed on a throne, 3 feet high and eight feet wide. The idol will be placed in such a manner so that the rays of the Sun will touch its forehead every year on Ram Navami (birthday of Lord Rama). The 140 sq. ft. throne is presently being readied with copper wires which will be gold plated. The sanctum sanctorum will be surrounded from four directions with idols of the Sun God, Lord Shiva, Devi Bhagwati and Ganpati (Lord Ganesh). The Ram temple will have a total of 118 doors, all being made in Secunderabad, Telangana, by a private timber company, which specializes in using teak wood for this purpose. More than 100 carpenters and artisans from Tamil Nadu are busy making the temple doors, which will not have a single nut-bolt. The main doors of sanctum sanctorum will be 8 feet high and 12 feet wide. The doors will be five inch thick and will be gold plated. After the idol installation of Ram Lala idol on January 22, the temple will be thrown open to general public the next day. Entry will be from Singh Dwar (Lion Gate) on the eastern side. A huge statue of Jatayu, the demi-god in the form of an eagle, who vainly tried to save Sita from being abducted by the demon king Ravana, will be erected in the temple premises. With hardly 25 days left, round-the-clock work is going on, in three shifts daily, by nearly 4,000 workers. Building the Ram temple was not easy, said Nripendra Mishra. At the very first meeting of the Trust, it was found that the ground on which the temple was supposed to be built was not hard, because, the Saryu river used to flow on that land and the base was not solid. Millions of devotees of Lord Ram are eagerly waiting to visit the temple and watch the beautiful and magnificent temple with their own eyes. It will be the nerve centre of faith for millions of devotees of Lord Ram. It will reflect the centuries-old rich traditions of Sanatan Dharma. Already, gifts from faraway countries like Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Surinam, Nepal and Bhutan have started pouring in. The people of Janakpur in Nepal, considered the birthplace of Goddess Sita, have sent clothes, ornaments, dry fruits and water from 30 holy rivers for bathing the idol of Ram Lala. The chief priest of Ram Janaki temple said, the Nepalese town of Janakpur will celebrate the idol installation on January 22 by lighting earthen lamps. Donors have sent desi ghee from Jodhpur, and turmeric from Cambodia for the ‘yagya’ that will take place during idol installation in Ayodhya. Women from Pune are busy making beautiful clothes embroidered with golden thread for Ram Lala. I remember, in 1992, when Kar Seva began, people started sending bricks called ‘Ram Sheela’ (Ram bricks) from across the country for erecting the shrine. I find the same enthusiasm and involvement of devotees this time too. But there has been a sea change in the environment, then and now. In 1992, it marked the beginning of a movement, there was uncertainty, the atmosphere was hot with hate and enmity. Millions of devotees were angry at that point of time. Today it is the culmination of that movement. A time for charting a new beginning, without hate or rancour, with the air filled with devotion, peace and mutual understanding. This is the main difference between the situation, then an now. People at that time were also filled with devotion, as they are now. People in the South making teakwood doors, artisans and architect from Gujarat, sculptors from the East and West, marble from Rajasthan. It looks as if the entire nation wants to contribute its mite in building the temple. Even Muslim brothers have donated for the temple. This is evidence of the universality of Lord Ram. The Ram temple in Ayodhya will be a shining example of national unity. I expect politicians and thinkers from all hues to view it in this spirit. Sadly, there are still some people who are yet to imbibe this spirit. One of them is Sam Pitroda, chief of Indian Overseas Congress, the overseas wing of Congress party. Pitroda is unhappy over why Prime Minister Modi is spending more time on temples and less on “national agenda” like unemployment, inflation and development. During the late Eighties, Sam Pitroda used to be a close associate of Late Rajiv Gandhi. Today he seems to be the mentor and adviser to Rahul Gandhi. Pitroda arranges Rahul’s foreign trips to Europe and the US. Actually, for Pitroda, the problem is not Ram temple. His main problem is why Narendra Modi is cornering all the credit for building Ram temple. Sam Pitroda has probably forgotten that it was Rajiv Gandhi who had ordered the opening of locks at Ram Janmasthan in 1984 and he had got the credit for this. Now, with Modi’s effort, the holy town of Ayodhya is getting a grand Ram temple, and it is bound to reap political dividends for him during the elections. Somebody should ask Sam Pitroda: Will India’s development come to halt by visiting temples? If visiting temples is a sin, then why did Rahul Gandhi wear ‘janeu’(sacred thread) while visiting temples? This is not the first time that Sam created problems for the Congress. In one interview, when he was asked about 1984 anti-Sikh riots, his reply was: “hua so hua” (what happened, happened). The Congress was caught in a bind, and Sam had to apologize. When India carried out air strike on Balakot after Pulwama terror attack, Sam had said, the air strike was not justified and it is not right to hold Pakistan responsible for the Pulwama attack. Sam Pitroda had even given a clean chit to Pakistan for 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. And now, Sam is raising question about Ram temple, and PM’s devotion to Lord Ram. I think, this is nothing but sheer foolishness and imprudence. Sam is unable to feel the pulse of India and the Indian people. He is unable to recognize the power of faith and religious devotion among Indians. This could be the reason why he made such remarks about Lord Ram and the Ram temple. The silence of Congress leaders on his remark can prove costly for the party.
अयोध्या में भव्य राम मंदिर : बनेगा गेम चेंजर
अयोध्या में बन रहे मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम भगवान श्रीराम के भव्य और दिव्य मंदिर में विराजने वाली रामलला की तीन मूर्तियां बनकर तैयार हैं. 29 दिसम्बर को उन तीनों में से एक मूर्ति का चयन होगा जिसे मंदिर के गर्भगृह में स्थापित किया जाएगा. मंदिर का गर्भगृह बनकर तैयार है. पांचों मंडप बन गए हैं. पहली मंज़िल का काम तक़रीबन पूरा हो गया है. गर्भगृह की दीवारों पर नक्काशी और मूर्तियां बनाने का काम खत्म हो गया है. अब रामलला के सिंहासन और गर्भगृह के दरवाजों पर सोने की परत चढ़ाने का काम हो रहा है. अयोध्या में अब आसमान से ही राम मंदिर दिखने लगा है. चूंकि मंदिर का काम प्रथम तल तक तकरीबन पूरा हो गया है, इसलिए मंदिर आकार लेने लगा है, परकोटा बन गया है. ग्राउंड फ्लोर पर सीढियों से लेकर गर्भगृह तक काम पूरा हो गया है. सत्तर एकड़ में फैले मंदिर परिसर में निर्माण का काम सिर्फ इक्कीस एकड़ में हो रहा है. बाकी जगह को पूरी तरह हराभरा रखा गया है. इसमें भी रामलला का मंदिर सिर्फ 2.7 एकड़ में होगा. 22 जनवरी को प्राण प्रतिष्ठा समारोह संपन्न होने के बाद भक्त राम मंदिर में दक्षिण द्वार से प्रवेश कर पाएंगे. मंदिर परिसर में पहुंचते ही 32 सीढियां होंगी. इन सीढ़ियों से होकर भक्त गर्भगृह की तरफ बढ़ेंगे. सीढियों के ऊपर तीन द्वार है – सिंह द्वार, गज द्वार और हनुमान द्वार. इन दरवाजों के जरिए भक्त भूतल पर मौजूद बरामदे में पहुंचेंगे. यहां पांच मंडप हैं – नृत्य मंडप, रंग मंडप, सभा मंडप, प्रार्थना मंडप और कीर्तन मंडप. इन मंडपों में भक्तों के बैठने का इंतजाम है. मंडपों की दीवारों पर शानदार नक़्क़ाशी की गई है, खंभों पर देवी देवताओं और वैदिक परपंराओं के प्रतीकों को उकेरा गया है. पांच मंडपों को पार करके भक्त गर्भगृह तक पहुंचेंगे, जहां रामलला का विग्रह विराजेगा. मंदिर का गर्भगृह 20 फीट लंबा और 20 फीट चौड़ा बनाया जा रहा है, इसकी ऊंचाई 161 फीट है. गर्भ गृह को सफेद मकराना संगमरमर से इतना मज़बूत बनाया गया है कि अगले एक हज़ार तक उसको खंरोच तक नही आएगी. राम मंदिर निर्माण समिति के अध्यक्ष नृपेंद्र मिश्र ने बताया कि 2019 में सुप्रीम कोर्ट का फ़ैसला आने से पहले अयोध्या में एक छोटा राम मंदिर बनाने का ही प्लान था लेकिन जब सुप्रीम कोर्ट में रामलला की जीत हुई, तो मंदिर के मूल डिज़ाइन में बदलाव किया गया. दिक़्क़त ये थी कि मंदिर बनाने का बहुत सा काम पिछले दस साल में हो चुका था. पिलर्स तैयार थे. उन पर नक़्क़ाशी की गई थी, मंदिर निर्माण समिति ने तय किया कि तैयार हो चुके पत्थरों का इस्तेमाल भी इस नए मंदिर में किया जाएगा. इनमें से कई पिलर्स ऐसे हैं जिन पर नक़्क़ाशी का काम पंद्रह वर्ष पहले ही हो चुका था. इस वक्त जिस अस्थायी स्थान पर रामलला की मूर्ति की पूजा हो रही है, उसे गर्भगृह में ही स्थापित किया जाएगा, उसकी पूजा अर्चना उसी नियम से होगी, जैसे अभी होती है लेकिन चूंकि यह विग्रह छोटा है, भक्तों को दूर से दर्शन करने में दिक्कत होगी इसलिए अब रामलला की 51 इंच ऊंची मूर्ति गर्भगृह में स्थापित की जाएगी, जिसकी प्राण प्रतिष्ठा प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी 22 जनवरी को करेंगे. रामलला का ये विग्रह पांच वर्ष के बालक का होगा. वाल्मीकि रामायण में प्रभु राम के बाल स्वरूप का जो वर्णन बालकांड में है, उसी के अनुरूप विग्रह तैयार किया गया है. अभी रामलला की तीन मूर्तियां बनाई गई हैं, दो काले पत्थर की और एक सफेद पत्थर की. अब इन तीन मूर्तियों में से किसकी स्थापना होगी , इसका चुनाव ट्रस्ट की कमेटी करेगी. उम्मीद ये है कि जनवरी के पहले हफ्ते में राम जन्मभूमि तीर्थ क्षेत्र ट्रस्ट इसका ऐलान कर देगा कि प्राण प्रतिष्ठा के लिए किस मूर्ति का चयन किया गया है. तीनों ही मूर्तियां भगवान के बाल स्वरूप की होंगी. 17 जनवरी को भगवान राम की मूर्ति अयोध्या के नगर भ्रमण के लिए निकलेगी. तब पहली बार भक्त भगवान राम के इस स्वरूप के दर्शन कर सकेंगे. रामलला की 51 इंच की मूर्ति का जिस सिंहासन पर विराजमान होगी, वह तीन फीट ऊंचा और आठ फीट चौड़ा होगा. इससे गर्भगृह के बाहर खड़े भक्तों को रामलला के चरणों से लेकर माथे तक पूरे स्वरूप का दर्शन आसानी से हो सकेगा. मूर्ति का वास्तु इस तरह का है कि हर साल रामनवमी के दिन सूर्य की किरणें रामलला के मस्तिष्क का अभिषेक करेंगी. रामलला का सिंहासन सोने से मढ़ा जाएगा. फिलहाल करीब 140 वर्गफीट वाले इस सिंहासन पर तांबे के तारों की कसाई हो रही है. इसके बाद तांबे के तारों के ऊपर सोने की परत चढ़ाई जाएगी. रामलला की तीन मूर्तियों में से एक की स्थापना होगी जबकि दूसरे दो विग्रह मंदिर में रहेंगे. एक चल विग्रह होगा जो समय समय पर त्योहारों और पर्वों के मौकों भक्तों के दर्शन के लिए बाहर रखी जाएंगी या नगर में निकलेंगी. बड़ी बात ये है कि रामलला का मंदिर दो हजार वर्ष पुरानी पंचायतन परंपरा के अनुसार हो रहा हैस यानि एक ही जगह पर पांच देवी देवताओं की पूजा का स्थान. गर्भगृह के चारों ओर, चार कोनों पर सूर्य, शिव, देवी भगवती और गणपति के चार मंदिर और बने हैं. मंदिर में कुल 118 दरवाज़े होंगे. ये सारे दरवाजे तेलंगाना के सिकंदराबाद में बन रहे हैं, जो एक निजी टिंबर कंपनी बना रही है. सारे दरवाजे महाराष्ट्र से लाई गई सागौन की लकड़ी से बने हैं. इसी कंपनी ने यदाद्रि मंदिर के दरवाज़े बनाए थे. मंदिर के दरवाज़े बनाने के काम में तमिलनाडु के सौ से ज्यादा कारीगर लगे हैं. सारे दरवाज़े पुरानी तकनीक से बनाए जा रहे हैं, इनमें कोई नट-बोल्ट नहीं लगाए जा रहे हैं, ताकि ये हजार साल से ज्यादा तक मजबूत रहे. 118 दरवाजे चार अलग डिजाइनों में बने हैं. मंदिर में प्रवेश के तीन द्वार हैं. इसके अलावा गर्भ गृह का अलग दरवाज़ा है. गर्भ गृह के दरवाजे की ऊंचाई 8 फीट है और चौड़ाई 12 फीट है. ये विशाल द्वार पांच इंच मोटा होगा. गर्भगृह के दरवाजे को भी सोने से मढ़ा जाएगा. भारत में मंदिरों के निर्माण की 16 अलग शैलियां रही हैं, जिनमे तीन प्रमुख हैं, नागर, द्रविड और पगोडा. राम का मंदिर नागर शैली में बन रहा है लेकिन इसमें दक्षिण भारतीय और बेसर शैली की ख़ूबियों को भी शामिल किया गया है. मंदिर में परकोटा भी बनाया गया है जबकि आम तौर पर उत्तर भारत के मंदिरों में परकोटे नहीं होते. मंदिर के चारों तरफ़ जो परकोटा होगा, उसमें भी छह मंदिर बनाए जा रहे हैं. ये मंदिर, सूर्य भगवान, शंकर भगवान, माता भगवती, विनायक, हनुमान जी और माता अन्नपूर्णा के होंगे. ये सारे मंदिर परकोटे में ही बनाए जाएंगे जो भारत के मंदिर निर्माण की पंचायतन परंपरा का हिस्सा होंगे. ट्रस्ट के महासचिव चंपत राय ने बताया कि मंदिर के परकोटे के बाहर भी सात और मंदिरों का निर्माण होगा. मंदिर प्रांगण में जटायु की मूर्ति भी स्थापित की गई है. मंदिर के हरेक खंभे और हर दीवार पर नक़्क़ाशी की जा रही है. चूंकि प्राण प्रतिष्ठा में अब 25 दिन बाकी है, इसलिए काम में तेजी लाई गई है. इस वक्त चार हजार मजदूर दिन रात तीन शिफ्ट में चौबीसों घंटे काम कर रहे हैं. नृपेंद्र मिश्र ने बताय़ा कि मंदिर बनाने का काम आसान नहीं था. जब सरकार ने ट्रस्ट का गठन किया और मंदिर निर्माण के लिए पहली मीटिंग हुई, तो पता चला कि जिस जगह पर मंदिर बनना है, वो ज़मीन सख़्त नहीं है. आज जहां मंदिर बन रहा है, पहले वहां सरयू नदी बहा करती थी. ऐेसे में मंदिर की नींव मजबूत नहीं होती. रामलला का यह मंदिर जब पूरी तरह बन कर तैयार हो जाएगा तो ये दुनिया का सबसे खूबसूरत, भव्य और दिव्य मंदिर होगा. यह पूरी दुनिया के रामभक्तों की आस्था का केन्द्र होगा, भक्ति और शक्ति का प्रतीक होगा, सनातन की अनंत और अमिट परंपराओं का वाहक होगा. तमाम देशों से लोग अपनी श्रद्धा के हिसाब से उपहार भेज रहे हैं. कंबोडिया, श्रीलंका, मॉरीसस, सूरीनाम से लेकर नेपाल और भूटान से रामलला के लिए उपहार भेजे जा रहे हैं. नेपाल में जनकपुर के लोग खुद को माता सीता का परिवार मानते हैं. जनकपुर से रामलला की मूर्ति को स्नान कराने के लिए तीस पवित्र नदियों का जल, वस्त्र, आभूषण और मेवा उपहार स्वरूप भेजे गए हैं.. जनकपुर में रामलला की प्राण प्रतिष्ठा के दिन दीपोत्सव मनाया जाएगा. प्राण प्रतिष्ठा के यज्ञ के लिए जोधपुर से देसी घी भेजा गया है, हल्दी कंबोडिया से आई है. पुणे की महिलाएं रामलला को पहनाने के लिए सोने के धागों से कढ़ाई किये गये वस्त्र भेज रही हैं. मुझे याद है जब 1992 में कार सेवा शुरू हुई थी, उस वक्त देशभर में घर घर से राम शिलाएं अयोध्या के लिए निकली थीं. वैसा ही सहयोग अब फिर दिखने लगा है. लेकिन उस वक्त के माहौल और आज के वातावरण में अंतर है. उस वक्त आंदोलन की शुरूआत थी, अनिश्चितता थी, माहौल में गर्मी थी, विद्वेष का भाव था, लोगों में भक्ति के साथ साथ गुस्सा था लेकिन आज आंदोलन की परिणति की वेला है, एक नई शुरूआत की घड़ी है. अब कोई अनिश्चितता नहीं है, कोई विद्वेष नहीं है. अब सिर्फ भक्ति है, शान्ति है, सद्भाव है, ये बड़ा फर्क है. उस वक्त भी लोग भक्ति रस में डूबे थे. आज भी भक्ति में भाव विभोर हैं. उस वक्त भी गांव-गांव से, घर-घर से रामशिलाएं आ रही थी. आज भी घर-घऱ से राममंदिर के लिए सहयोग और समपर्ण का भाव है, उपहार आ रहे हैं. दक्षिण में राम मंदिर के दरवाजे बन रहे हैं, गुजरात के शिल्पकार है, उत्तर से दक्षिण तक, पूरब से लेकर पश्चिम तक के मूर्तिकार और मजदूर है. पूरे देश के लोगों का दान है. मुस्लिम भाइयों ने भी मंदिर के लिए दिल खोलकर दान दिया है. ये प्रभु राम की सार्वभौमिकता का प्रमाण है. अयोध्या में बन रहा राम मंदिर देश की एकता का प्रतीक है. इसलिए प्राण प्रतिष्ठा के इस समारोह को उसी भावना से लेना चाहिए. लेकिन दुख की बात है कि कुछ नेता, कुछ पार्टियों इस मौके पर भी राजनीति कर रही है. कांग्रेस के नेताओं को रामभक्ति में डूबे लोग पसंद नहीं आ रहे हैं. कांग्रेस के कहा कि राम मंदिर से देश का भला नहीं होगा, इससे आधुनिक भारत को कुछ नहीं मिलेगा, मंदिर बनने से महंगाई, बेरोजगारी या प्रदूषण खत्म नहीं हो जाएगा. इतनी भूमिका बांधने के बाद सैम का असली दर्द सामने आया. उन्होंने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री मंदिर मंदिर क्यों घूमते रहते हैं, प्रधानमंत्री सारा काम छोड़कर धर्म के काम में लगे रहते हैं, ये सही नहीं है. सैम पित्रोदा ने देश के लोगों से कहा कि अब ये तय करने का वक्त आ गया है कि राम मंदिर चाहिए या रोजगार. सैम पित्रोदा एक जमाने में राजीव गांधी के बहुत करीबी हुआ करते थे. आज कल राहुल गांधी के करीबी हैं, उनके सलाहकार हैं, इंडियन ओवरसीज कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष हैं. राहुल के सारे विदेशी दौरे सैम ही करवाते हैं. असल में सैम की समस्या राम मंदिर से नहीं है. उनकी समस्या है कि राम मंदिर की निर्माण का श्रेय नरेंद्र मोदी को मिल रहा है. सैम पित्रौदा भूल गए कि जब राजीव गाँधी ने राम मंदिर का ताला खुलवाया था तो उन्हें भी इसका श्रेय मिला था. अब मोदी के प्रयास से अयोध्या में भगवान राम का भव्य मंदिर मिल रहा है, तो मोदी को चुनाव में फायदा तो होगा. पर सैम पित्रोदा से कोई ये पूछे कि अगर मंदिर में जाने से तरक्की रुकती है, अगर नेताओं का मंदिर जाना गुनाह है, तो चुनाव से पहले राहुल गांधी जनेऊ पहनकर मंदिर-मंदिर क्यों जाते हैं ? असल में सैम पित्रोदा ने कांग्रेस के लिए पहली बार मुश्किल खड़ी नही की है. ये वही सैम पित्रोदा हैं जिन्होंने 1984 के सिख विरोधी दगों के बारे में पूछे जाने पर कहा था कि “हुआ सो हुआ”, इसके बाद कांग्रेस मुश्किल में फंसी. सैम को माफी मांगनी पड़ी. फिर पुलावामा में हमला हुआ, भारत ने बालाकोट पर एयर स्ट्राइक की, तो सैम ने कहा कि इस तरह की कार्रवाई ठीक नहीं, पुलवामा आतंकी हमले के लिए पाकिस्तान को जिम्मेदार ठहराना ठीक नहीं. सैम पित्रोदा ने 26/11 के मुंबई हमले में भी पाकिस्तान को क्लीन चिट दे दी थी. और अब सैम राम मंदिर पर सवाल उठा रहे हैं, रामभक्ति को गुनाह बता रहे हैं. मुझे लगता है कि ये सैम पित्रोदा की नासमझी है, नादानी है. न वो इस देश को जानते हैं, न इस देश के मिज़ाज को जानते हैं, न इस देश की भक्ति की शक्ति को पहचानते हैं. इसीलिए उन्होंने प्रभु राम के बारे में, राम मंदिर के बारे में ऐसी बात कही. सैम के बयान पर कांग्रेस की खामोशी भी हैरान करने वाली है और ये खामोशी कांग्रेस को मंहगी पड़ सकती है.
बृज भूषण को कैसे भारतीय कुश्ती जगत छोड़ने पर मजबूर किया गया
बृज भूषण शरण सिंह को आखिरकार झुकना पड़ा. भारतीय कुश्ती संघ से उनका दबदबा खत्म हुआ. इसे देखकर देश के हर खिलाड़ी का प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के प्रति विश्वास बढ़ेगा. बृजभूषण की दबंगई का हवा होना देश के लिए कुश्ती का मेडल जीतने वाली बहादुर बेटियों के आंसुओं का जवाब है, कुश्ती पर उनके कर्ज का हिसाब है. देश का नाम रौशन करने वाली बेटियों को रूलाने वाले जो बृजभूषण शरण सिंह चार दिन पहले कह रहे थे कि दबदबा था और दबदबा कायम रहेगा, वही बृजभूषण कह रहे थे कि उस बयान में अंहकार था, गड़बड़ हो गई, गलती हो गई. बृजभूषण के चेले संजय सिंह WFI के अध्यक्ष पद का चुनाव जीतने के बाद बोल रहे थे कि बृजभूषण भारतीय कुश्ती की आत्मा है, उनके मार्गदर्शन में काम होगा. लेकिन रविवार को बृजभूषण ने कहा कि उनका कुश्ती और कुश्ती संघ से अब कोई वास्ता नहीं हैं, वो कुश्ती से पूरी तरह से दूर हो चुके हैं, अब संजय सिंह को जो करना है, करें, सरकार से बात करनी है, करें, कोर्ट जाना है, जाएं. जिस दिन बृजभूषण ने कहा था कि दबदबा कायम रहेगा, उसी दिन मैंने कहा था कि वक्त बदलते देर नहीं लगती, ये अहंकार ज्यादा वक्त नहीं रहेगा, बेटियों के आंसू बेकार नहीं जाएंगे. उसी की तस्वीर रविवार को सामने आई. बृजभूषण का हृदय परिवर्तन क्यों हुआ? उन्हें अपनी गलती का पछतावा हुआ या कराया गया है? उन्होंने कुश्ती संघ से दूरी बनाई या उन्हें दूर करवाया गया? 48 घंटे में ऐसा क्या हुआ जिसने बृजभूषण के दबदबे की हवा निकाल दी? मैं आपको बताता दूं कि बृजभूषण शरण सिंह के तेवर क्यों बदले. पिछले 48 घंटे में क्या क्या हुआ, जिससे बृजभूषण की सारी हेकड़ी निकल गई. प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी का निर्देश मिलने के बाद बीजेपी अध्यक्ष जे पी नड्डा ने बृजभूषण शरण सिंह को बुलाया. नड्डा ने बृजभूषण से पूछा कि आखिर वादा करने के बाद भी कुश्ती संघ में दखलंदाजी क्यों कर रहे हैं. उन्होंने WFI के चुनाव में सक्रिय भूमिका क्यों निभाई, और फिर नतीजे आने के बाद बेहूदा बयानबाजी क्यों की? बृजभूषण के पास कोई जवाब नहीं था. इसके बाद नड्डा ने साफ शब्दों में बता दिया कि अब कुश्ती संघ में उनकी दखलंदाजी बर्दाश्त नहीं की जाएगी, अब वो कुश्ती संघ से दूर रहेंगे, WFI का नाम भी नहीं लेंगे, अगर उन्होंने इस बार वादाखिलाफी की, तो उनके खिलाफ पार्टी कार्रवाई करेगी. खेल मंत्रालय को रविवार को ही बृजभूषण के चेलों के खिलाफ सख्त एक्शन का निर्देश मिल चुका था. मंत्रालय ने WFI की नई फेडरेशन को सस्पेंड कर दिया, फेडरेशन के अध्यक्ष संजय सिंह जो बृजभूषण शरण सिंह के चहेते हैं, उन्हें निलम्बित कर दिया. WFI का कामकाज देखने की जिम्मेदारी फिलहाल भारतीय ओलंपिक एसोशिएशन को दे दी. इसके बाद बृजभूषण को समझ आ गया कि अब पानी सिर से ऊपर से निकल चुका है, अगर अब भी वो दबदबा बनाए रखने के चक्कर में पड़े, तो डूबना तय है. इसलिए बृजभूषण ने WFI से दूरी बनाने में ही भलाई समझी. सरकार ने WFI के पदाधिकारियों को फिलहाल सस्पेंड करने का जो फैसला किया है, उससे साक्षी मलिक, बजरंग पूनिया और विनेश फोगाट कुछ हद तक संतुष्ट हैं. साक्षी मलिक ने संकेत दिया है कि वो अपने फैसले पर फिर से विचार करेगी. साक्षी मलिक ने कहा कि उनकी लड़ाई कभी खेल मंत्रालय या सरकार के खिलाफ नहीं थी. उन्होंने बेटियों का सम्मान बचाने के लिए बृजभूषण के खिलाफ संघर्ष शुरू किया था, वो लड़ाई आगे भी जारी रहेगी. मुझे खुशी है कि प्रधानमंत्री ने 48 घंटे के अंदर एक्शन लिया. कुश्ती से बृजभूषण शरण सिंह के दबदबे को खत्म किया. कुश्ती की चैंपियन बेटियों को विश्वास दिया. सबको संदेश दिया कि कुश्ती में किसी दबंग की मनमानी नहीं चलने दी जाएगी. पहलवानों को संदेश दिया कि विनेश और साक्षी के आंसू व्यर्थ नहीं जाएंगे. बजरंग पुनिया का संघर्ष बेकार नहीं जाएगा. बृजभूषण को लगता था कि वो यूपी में 4-5 सीटों पर हार जीत का असर डाल सकते हैं. चुनाव सिर पर हैं, इसलिए वो जो चाहे करें, उन्हें कोई कुछ नहीं कह सकता. उन्हें भी संदेश मिल गया कि जे पी नड्डा ऐसे अध्यक्ष नहीं है जो इन धमकियों से डर जाएं. ये सही है कि बृजभूषण के दादागिरी भरे बयान के बाद, साक्षी मलिक के आंखों में आंसू भरकर कुश्ती छोड़ने के ऐलान के बाद, कुश्ती खेलने और देखने वालों में निराशा का माहौल था. बजरंग पुनिया ने भी जब पद्मश्री लौटाने का ऐलान किया तो वो भी हताशा में लिया गया फैसला था. खेल मंत्रालय ने जब कुश्ती संघ की गतिविधियों पर रोक लगाई तो पासा पलट गया. जे पी नड्डा ने बृजभूषण शरण सिंह पर जो लगाम लगाई, उससे बाजी पलट गई, पहलवानों में भरोसा पैदा हुआ. पर कुश्ती संघ के संजय सिंह बृजभूषण के चेले हैं. संजय सिंह अभी भी कोशिश में लगे हैं. कभी कहते हैं वो बृजभूषण के रिश्तेदार नहीं हैं, कभी कहते हैं वो सरकार से बात करेंगें, कभी कहते हैं वो कोर्ट जाएंगे, इसलिए अभी सावधान रहने की ज़रुरत है. कुश्ती संघ को दबंगों से मुक्त कराना आसान काम नहीं है. कुश्ती लड़ने की ललक रखने वाली बहादुर बेटियों को भरोसा दिलाना तो और भी मुश्किल है, लेकिन प्रधानमंत्री मोदी के कारण एक उम्मीद जगी है. आशा की किरण दिखाई दी है. हमें भरोसा करना चाहिए कि कुश्ती लड़ने वालों को अब अपने हक के लिए सड़क पर उतरने की ज़रुरत नहीं पड़ेगी. विनेश, साक्षी और बजरंग जैसे पहलवान जिन्होंने हिम्मत दिखाई, जोखिम उठायी, मुझे उम्मीद है कि अब उन्हें किसी राजनेता की शरण में जाने की जरुरत नहीं पड़ेगी. कुश्ती का पूरा मसला राजनीति से जितना दूर रहे, उतना अच्छा. सबसे ज्यादा तारीफ़ मैं उन महिला पहलवानों की हिम्मत की करुंगा, जिन्होंने ज़ुल्म के खिलाफ पुलिस में शिकायत लिखाई, और तमाम तरह के दबावों के बावजूद अपनी बात पर डटी हुई हैं. इन्हीं के कारण आज ये दिन आया कि बृजभूषण को कुश्ती से तौबा करनी पड़ी. मुझे उम्मीद है कि चैंपियन बेटियों के हक की ये लड़ाई जल्द ही एक निर्णायक मोड़ तक पहुंचेगी.
HOW BRIJ BHUSHAN WAS FORCED TO QUIT WRESTLING
The sheer arrogance of former Wrestling Federation chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, displayed brazenly after the election of his acolytes in WFI elections, was nowhere to be seen after he reportedly got a severe dressing-down from BJP president J P Nadda on Sunday. Reports say, Nadda, on getting directive from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, summoned Singh and demanded to know why he was interfering in WFI activity, despite promising to stay away. Nadda reportedly asked him bluntly why he played an active role in WFI office-bearer elections, by reneging on his promise, and why after the results were out, he publicly bragged about his ‘dabdaba’ (dominance) in Indian wrestling. Reports say, Brij Bhushan had no cogent reply to give. Nadda reportedly told him that his interference in Indian wrestling would no longer be tolerated and he must stay away from Wrestling Federation of India. Singh was reportedly warned that if he again reneged on his promise, the party would take action against him. Already, the Sports Ministry has suspended the newly elected WFI body, and has asked the Indian Olympic Association to set up an ad hoc committee to manage and execute the roles and functions of WFI. The newly elected WFI body, packed with Singh’s acolytes, had announced holding of Under-15 and Under-20 nationals in Singh’s hometown, and this was ticked off by the Sports Ministry as a step taken “without following due procedure and not giving sufficient notice to wrestlers” for preparations. On Sunday, posters praising Singh at his residence were hurriedly pulled down. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said, “I have now retired (from wrestling). I have a lot of other work to do like (Lok Sabha) elections. ..I have nothing to do with wrestling federation now … the issue of WFI is a matter to be sorted out between the office-bearers and the government.” Singh admitted that some of the ‘dabdaba’ posters displayed at his residence smacked of “arrogance”. The former WFI chief appears to have reconciled himself to the fact that his innings in wrestling federation is over, and if he still insisted on his ‘dabdaba’, his political future was bound to take a low dip. I am happy that the Prime Minister took action within 48 hours and showed Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh his place. In one single stroke, he ended Singh’s tight grip over Indian wrestling. The message has gone out that Brij Bhushan’s ‘dabdaba’ (dominance) over Indian wrestling is now over and the brave champion daughters of Indian wrestling will now get their due. The wrestlers have been given the message that the tears of medal winners Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat, and the struggle of Bajrang Punia will not go waste. Brij Bhushan was under the illusion that any action taken against him could adversely affect BJP’s chances in four to five Lok Sabha constituencies in eastern UP. Already, general elections are due any time and Singh was smug in his belief that nobody would dare take action against him. Singh has now got the right message that J P Nadda is not a party president who will wilt in the face of threats. It is true that an atmosphere of despondence and sadness had descended on Indian wrestling after people watched a weeping Sakshi Malik announcing her retirement when the former WFI chief bragged about his ‘dabdaba’. When Bajrang Punia decided to return his Padma Shri to the Prime Minister, it was a decision taken in desperation. The tables were turned on Singh when the Sports Ministry suspended all activities of the newly elected WFI body and Nadda put the leash on Brij Bhushan. These measures have instilled trust and confidence among the Indian wrestlers. However, Sanjay Singh, who has been elected WFI president, and is now suspended, continues to be Singh’s acolyte. He is still trying to regain lost ground. Sanjay Singh at times claims he is not Brij Bhushan’s relative, and sometimes he threatens to go to court against the Sports Ministry order. One needs to be on alert. Freeing the Wrestling Federation from the clutches of ‘dabang’ (strongmen) is not an easy job. It is all the more difficult to instil trust in the minds of our brave daughters who want to make a mark in the field of world wrestling. Prime Minister Modi has provided a ray of hope. We should hope that the wrestlers might not have to hit the roads again to demand their rights. Vinesh, Sakshi and Bajrang have shown courage and took risks. I hope they will not have to seek the help of politicians again. The more Indian wrestling sport is kept away from politics, the better. My fulsome praise are for those women wrestlers, who had the courage to go to the police and file their complaints against Brij Bhushan. They remained steadfast despite all sorts of pressures and threats. It is because of their perseverance and courage that Brij Bhushan had to bid goodbye to wrestling. I hope the struggle of our champion daughters will surely reach a decisive conclusion.
विपक्ष: जंतर मंतर पर एकता, राज्यों में खींचतान
दिल्ली में शुक्रवार को विरोधी दलों के गठबंधन में शामिल पार्टियों के नेता एक बार फिर इकट्ठा हुए. जंतर-मंतर पर प्रोटेस्ट करके एक बार फिर एकता दिखाने की कोशिश की, प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी पर विपक्ष की आवाज को दबाने, लोकतंत्र को खत्म करने और तानाशाही जैसे इल्जाम लगाए लेकिन जब दिल्ली में मोदी विरोधी मोर्चे के नेता मंच पर हाथ में हाथ डालकर बैठे थे, उस वक्त पटना, मुंबई और लखनऊ में इन्हीं पार्टियों के नेताओं के बीच खींचतान चल रही थी, प्रधानमंत्री पद के चेहरे को लेकर, सीटों के बंटवारे को लेकर, कौन किसके साथ होगा इसको लेकर. सब अपने अपने दावे करने में लगे थे. जैसे शुक्रवार को अचानक नीतीश कुमार ने तेजस्वी यादव को अपने घर पर बुलाया. इसके थोड़ी ही देर बाद नीतीश के करीबी जेडी-यू विधायक गोपाल मंडल ने कहा कि ‘ये खरगे वरगे कौन हैं? उन्हें कौन जानता है? नीतीश कुमार की बदौलत सभी विरोधी दलों के नेता एक मंच पर आए हैं, नीतीश ने Fevicol का काम किया है, नीतीश को देश भर में सब जानते हैं, इसलिए INDI अलायंस की तरफ से नीतीश को ही प्रधानमंत्री पद का उम्मीदवार घोषित करना चाहिए… खरगे तो PM मैटेरियल नहीं हैं’. इसके बाद नीतीश की पार्टी के एक और नेता संजय झा ने कहा, ‘सबसे बेहतर उम्मीदवार नीतीश ही होंगे’. वहीं महाराष्ट्र में संजय राउत ने एलान कर दिया कि उद्धव ठाकरे की शिवसेना महाराष्ट्र में 23 सीटों पर चुनाव लड़ेगी, बाकी बची सीटों पर कांग्रेस और NCP तय कर लें उन्हें कितनी-कितनी सीटों पर लड़ना है. यूपी में कांग्रेस और समाजवादी पार्टी के बीच बड़ी खींचतान चल रही है, प्रदेश कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष ने कहा, मायावती को गठबंधन में शामिल करना चाहिए, इससे अखिलेश यादव नाराज हैं.

बिहार में JDU-RJD का कांग्रेस के साथ झगड़ा प्रधानमंत्री पद के उम्मीदवार और सीटों के बंटवारे दोनों मुद्दों पर है. एक-एक करके अब जेडीयू के नेता खुलकर नीतीश कुमार के नाम को आगे बढ़ा रहे हैं, और सिर्फ आगे नहीं बढ़ा रहे हैं, खरगे और कांग्रेस के खिलाफ भी बोल रहे हैं.. JDU के विधायक गोपाल मंडल ने कहा कि ” इंडिया गठबंधन जो नाम पड़ा, नीतीश कुमार ने संयोजक का काम किया, नीतीश कुमार चेहरा है..निर्विवादित है, सब कुछ है.. इनको ही प्रधानमंत्री चुनना चाहिए.. पब्लिक नहीं मानेगी..ये खरगे-फरगे का नाम नहीं जानता है..अभी नाम बोले हैं तो हम सुने हैं, जानते भी नहीं थे कि वो कांग्रेस के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष हैं खरगे जी. आप बोले तो हम जान गए..उनको कोई नहीं जानता है. आम पब्लिक नहीं जानता है. आम पब्लिक नीतीश कुमार को जानता है. नीतीश कुमार प्राइम मिनिस्टर बनेंगे. सब कोई नीतीश कुमार को जानता है. पूरा हिंदुस्तान नीतीश कुमार को जानता है, ममता बनर्जी बोल दी और कोई बोल दिया, इसलिए बोल दिया. साथ ही में बैठे-उठे हैं. .मुख्यमंत्री को कोई तकलीफ नहीं हैं, वो निर्विवादित आदमी हैं..उनको प्रधानमंत्री बनाया जाय ये अभियान है..लालू का भी अभियान है..भाजपा को उखाड़ फेंको..भाजपा को भगाओ.” गोपाल मंडल गोपालपुर सीट से JDU के विधायक है. नीतीश कुमार के चहेते हैं. ये वही गोपाल मंडल है जो रिवॉल्वर लहराते हुए अस्पताल में जाते हैं, और सवाल पूछा जाता है तो कहते हैं कि रिवॉलवर पायजामा की जेब में रखने के लिए थोड़े है, कोई भी हमला कर सकता है, इसलिए हमेशा हाथ में रखते हैं. गोपाल मंडल बिहार के दबंग विधायक है. जेडीयू के एक और बड़े नेता संजय झा ने भी कहा कि नीतीश कुमार ने सबको एक साथ बैठाया, नीतीश कुमार ही गठबंधन के सूत्रधार हैं, इसलिए उन्हें संयोजक बनाया जाना चाहिए, प्रधानमंत्री का चेहरा कौन बनेगा, कौन नहीं, इसका फैसला तो बाद में हो जाएगा, इस वक्त तो प्राथमिकता ये है कि सीटों का बंटवारा हो जाए.” शुक्रवार को नीतीश कुमार और तेजस्वी यादव में आधे घंटे की मीटिंग हुई. मीटिंग के बाद तेजस्वी ने कहा कि बात एलायन्स के बारे में हुई , सब इस बात पर सहमत हैं कि सीट बंटवारे को लेकर जितनी जल्दी फैसला हो जाए उतना बेहतर है. तेजस्वी ने कहा कि गठबंधन का मुख्य मकसद नरेंद्र मोदी को हराना है, बाकी बातें गौण हैं. ये तो सही है कि प्रधानमंत्री पद के लिए खरगे का नाम आगे बढ़ाने से नीतीश भी नाराज हैं और लालू यादव भी परेशान हैं. जहां तक सीट शेयरिंग का सवाल है तो पता ये लगा है कि ये मामला सुलझने में भी वक्त लगेगा क्योंकि जेडीयू 20 सीट मांग रहा है, आरजेडी 18 सीटें पर दावेदारी कर रही है, कांग्रेस 10 सीटें मांग रही है और वामपंथी पार्टियां 5 सीट चाहती हैं. लेकिन बिहार में कुल चालीस सीटें हैं. लालू JDU को RJD से ज्यादा सीटें देने को तैयार हैं क्योंकि उनकी दिलचस्पी फिलहाल दिल्ली की बजाय बिहार में हैं लेकिन लालू भी कांग्रेस औऱ लैफ्ट के साथ रियासत बरतने को तैयार नहीं हैं. अगर JDU ने 20 सीटें ले लीं और RJD ने 18 तो कांग्रेस और लैफ्ट के लिए कुल मिलाकर दो सीटें बचेंगी, इसीलिए मामला पेचीदा है. लालू चाहते हैं कि नीतीश कुमार दिल्ली की तरफ देंखे. बिहार की कुर्सी तेजस्वी के लिए खाली करें और ये काम लोकसभा चुनाव से पहले हो जाए तो बेहतर .इसीलिए शुक्रवार को जब नीतीश ने तेजस्वी को बुलिया तो मंत्रिमंडल में बदलाव की भी चर्चा शुरू हो गई. .वैसे भी बीजेपी के केंद्रीय मंत्री गिरिराज सिंह ने कहा था कि लालू ने उनसे फ्लाइट में कहा कि अब तेजस्वी को लाए बगैर बिहार का भला नहीं होगा.
बिहार की राजनीति में क्या हो रहा है ये कोई सीक्रेट नहीं है. नीतीश कुमार जानते हैं कि अब बिहार में उनकी पारी खत्म हो चुकी है, वो किसी तरह समय काट रहे हैं. उन्होंने बड़े जोश से मोदी-विरोधी पार्टियों को इकट्ठा किया था.वो इस गठबंधन के नेता बनना चाहते थे लेकिन पहले कांग्रेस ने राहुल गांधी के लिए उनको आउट कर दिया, फिर ममता ने खरगे का नाम चलाकर रही सही कसर भी पूरी कर दी. दूसरी तरफ लालू की प्रबल इच्छा है कि तेजस्वी को मुख्यमंत्री बनाने का उनका सपना जल्दी पूरा हो, इसके लिए जरूरी है कि नीतीश बिहार से बाहर निकलें. इस चक्कर में नीतीश कुमार अधर में लटके हुए हैं – न इधर के रहे, ना उधर के.

झगड़ा महाराष्ट्र में भी है. महाराष्ट्र में बिहार की तरफ दबे छुपे बात नहीं हो रही है.वहां उद्धव ठाकरे की शिवसेना ने साफ साफ कह दिया वो 23 सीटों पर चुनाव लड़ेगी. महाराष्ट्र में कुल 48 सीटें हैं. अब बची 25 , यानि कांग्रेस और NCP आपस में 25 सीटें बांट ले. संजय राउत ने कहा कि शिवसेना 23 सीटों पर शुरू से चुनाव लड़ती आई है, इसलिए इस बार भी 25 सीटों पर लडेगी. संजय राउत कह रहे हैं कि सीट बंटवारे पर महाराष्ट्र कांग्रेस के नेताओं से बात नहीं होगी, सीधे कांग्रेस हाईकमान से चर्चा होगी. लेकिन महाराष्ट्र कांग्रेस के कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष नसीम खान ने कहा कि इतनी जल्दी सीटों की संख्या को लेकर बात करना ठीक नहीं है, विनेबिलिटी के हिसाब से सीटों का बंटवारा हो और सारी पार्टियां एक-दूसरे को समर्थन करें. शरद पवार की एनसीपी की नेता विद्या चव्हाण ने कहा कि सीटों की संख्या को प्रतिष्ठा का विषय बनाने की जरूरत नहीं है, अलायंस में शामिल पार्टियों का मकसद ये होना चाहिए बीजेपी और मोदी को कैसे हराया जाए. संजय राउत ने 23 सीटों पर लड़ने की बात कहते हुए ये कहा था कि शिवसेना हमेशा से 23 सीटों पर लड़ती आई है और उनकी बात सही भी है. 2019 से पहले जब शिवसेना NDA में थी, उस वक्त और उसके बाद 2019 के चुनाव में भी शिवसेना ने 23 सीटों पर चुनाव लड़ा और 18 सीटों पर जीती जबकि कांग्रेस 25 और एनसीपी 19 सीटों पर चुनाव लड़ी थी. अब शिवसेना और एनसीपी दोनों ही पार्टियां टूट चुकी हैं. शिवेसना का एक गुट एकनाथ शिंदे के साथ है और एनसीपी के एक गुट पर अजित पवार को कब्जा है. कांग्रेस को लगता है कि वो अब ज्यादा मजबूत स्थिति में है. उसकी बार्गेनिंग पावर ज्यादा है लेकिन उद्धव ठाकरे और शरद पवार अब उल्टा कांग्रेस पर प्रैशर बनाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं. कांग्रेस इस प्रैशर में बहुत ज्यादा एडजस्ट करेगी, ये मुश्किल लगता है.
उत्तर प्रदेश
यही हाल उत्तर प्रदेश में है. यूपी में समाजवादी पार्टी कांग्रेस के लिए ज्यादा सीटें छोड़ने को तैयार नहीं है. पता ये लगा है कि अखिलेश यादव ने यूपी की 80 में से 76 सीटों पर दावा कर दिया, कुल मिलाकर चार सीटें बचती हैं. इनमें से दो RLD को, और रायबरेली और अमेठी, दो सीटें कांग्रेस के लिए बचती हैं. समाजवादी पार्टी के इस रुख के जबाव में कांग्रेस ने नई चाल चली है. यूपी कांग्रेस के नेताओं ने ये कहना शुरू कर दिया है कि गठबंधन में मायावती को भी आना चाहिए क्योंकि मायावती के बगैर यूपी में बीजेपी का मुकाबला मुश्किल है. पिछले विधानसभा चुनाव में समाजवादी पार्टी और कांग्रेस का गठबंधन हुआ था, नतीजा सबने देखा. दो दिन पहले एलायन्स की मीटिंग में कांग्रेस ने ये प्रस्ताव रखा था, लेकिन रामगोपाल यादव ने साफ कह दिया था कि अगर मायावती गठबंधन में आती हैं तो समाजवादी पार्टी एलान्यस का हिस्सा नहीं रहेगी. शुक्रवार को शिवपाल यादव ने कहा कि मायावती तो बीजेपी की मदद कर रही हैं, पर्दे के पीछे वो बीजेपी के साथ हैं, पहले वो बीजेपी से दूरी बनाएं, इसके बाद बाकी बातें होंगी. आज समाजवादी पार्टी मायावती के नाम से भाग रही है लेकिन सबको पता है कि पिछला लोकसभा चुनाव अखिलेश यादव ने मायावती के साथ मिलकर ही लड़ा था. इस अलायन्स से मायावती को फायदा हुआ और समाजवादी पार्टी को नुकसान. इसलिए अब अखिलेश मायावती के साथ एलायन्स नहीं चाहते. दूसरी बात ये है कि कांग्रेस के नेताओं को लगता है कि समाजवादी पार्टी कांग्रेस को वोट ट्रांसफर नहीं करा सकती. BSP का वोट मायावती की कॉल पर ट्रांसफर हो सकता है, इसलिए एलायन्स में मायावती को शामिल करना चाहिए. अगर समाजवादी कांग्रेस के लिए ज्यादा सीटें छोड़ने को तैयार नहीं होती और कांग्रेस भी अपने रूख पर अड़ी रही तो फिर वैसा ही होगा जैसा मध्य प्रदेश के विधानसभा चुनाव में हुआ था. विरोधी दलों के एलायन्स में बिहार, महाराष्ट्र, यूपी के अलावा झारखंड, पश्चिम बंगाल, दिल्ली और पंजाब में भी सीटों को लेकर झगड़ा है लेकिन दिल्ली में इन पार्टियों के नेता एकजुटता दिखाने की पूरी कोशिश कर रहे हैं.
जंतर मंतर पर एकता
शुक्रवार को जंतर-मंतर पर विपक्षी गठबंधन की सभी पार्टियों के नेता पहुंचे, सबने मंच पर एकजुटता दिखाई. विपक्ष के 146 सासंदों के सस्पेंशन के खिलाफ ये प्रदर्शन था. जंतर मंतर प्रोटेस्ट से दो बातें सामने आईं. एक थी, सांसदों का निलम्बन. इस मामले में एक बात जानना जरूरी है. जब संसद नये भवन में शिफ्ट हुई तो सारी पार्टियों के नेताओं ने स्पीकर और चेयरमैन के सामने वादा किया था कि अब Decorum का पालन किया जाएगा. सबने माना कि 75 साल में जो हुआ सो हुआ, अब नई बिल्डिंग में सांसद वेल में नहीं आएंगे और प्लेकार्ड लेकर तो बिलकुल ही कोई नहीं आएगा. सब इस बात पर सहमत हुए कि जिसको प्रोटेस्ट करना होगा वो अपनी सीट पर खड़े होकर शोर मचाएगा. सभी नेताओं ने ये भी माना कि अगर कोई एमपी इस सहमति का उल्लंघन करेगा तो उसके खिलाफ एक्शन लिया जाएगा. इसके बाद भी अगर राजनीतिक दलों के नेता अपनी बात से मुकर जाएं और मुकरने के बाद एक्शन न हो, तो फिर इन सब मीटिंग्स का, इन सब संकल्पों का क्या मतलब ? दूसरी बात संसद की सुरक्षा से जुड़ी है. ये बात सही है कि संसद की सुरक्षा में भारी चूक हुई है, कोई भी अनहोनी हो सकती थी, ये पूरी तरह सरकार की जिम्मेदारी है लेकिन सुरक्षा में सेंध लगाने वाली हरकत को बेरोजगारी से जोड़ना कैसे जायज हो सकता है? उदाहरण के तौर पर लोकसभा में कूदने वाला एक लड़का 12वीं पास है. उसकी मां ने बताया कि वो नौकरी नहीं करना चाहता था, वो ई-रिक्शा चलाता था. तो ये बेरोजगारी से जुड़ा मसला कैसे हो सकता है? आज जो जानकारी सामने आई, उसके मुताबिक संसद में धुआं उडाने वाले असल में राजनीतिक दल बनाना चाहते थे. उन्होंने पुलिस को बताया कि उन्हें उम्मीद नहीं थी कि उनके खिलाफ UAPA कानून लगाया जाएगा. वो तो ये सोचकर संसद में कूदे थे कि 4-6 महीने में जमानत मिल जाएगी, फिर वो हीरो बनकर बाहर निकलेंगे. उन्हें ये सपना दिखाया गया था कि फिर वो बड़े नेता बन जाएंगे. हो सकता है ये जानकारी मिलने के बाद अब राहुल गांधी को कोई ये समझा दे कि ये वो नौजवान नहीं हैं जिनकी किसी ने नौकरी छीन ली. ये तो सियासत की दुनिया में काम ढूंढने आए थे और इस चक्कर में इन्होंने गंभीर अपराध कर दिया.
BEHIND FACADE OF UNITY, RUMBLINGS IN OPPOSITION BLOC
The INDIA alliance of opposition parties staged a ‘Save Democracy’ protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Friday protesting mass suspension of 146 MPs. It was attended by Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, NCP chief Sharad Pawar and other opposition leaders. It was a show of opposition unity. But in Patna, Lucknow and Mumbai, there are already rumblings in the opposition bloc over the choice of PM candidate and sharing of seats.
BIHAR
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had a brief 30-minute meeting on Friday with his deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, and soon after JD-U ‘bahubali’ leader Gopal Mandal, said to be close to Nitish, publicly opposed projection of Kharge as PM candidate. Mandal said, “The common public do not know who Kharge is….Nitish Kumar acted as ‘Fevicol’ in bringing together all opposition leaders on a single platform, his face is known to all, he should be projected as PM, otherwise public will not accept any other name. Entire India knows who is Nitish Kumar. Our chief minister is the undisputed leader. It is Lalu’s mission to make him PM. We will uproot BJP.” Another JD-U leader Sanjay Jha said, “Nitish Kumar will be the best choice. .. It was he who brought all parties together, he should be made the convenor. But the name of PM will be decided only after elections. Presently, the top priority is seat sharing.” RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said the discussion with his CM was over seat sharing in the alliance. “The sooner the decision is taken, the better. Our main aim is to defeat Modi, other matters are secondary”, Tejashwi Yadav said. It is true that the floating of Kharge’s name as PM candidate by Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal has made Nitish Kumar unhappy and Lalu Prasad Yadav is worried. Seat sharing in Bihar can face problems because JD-U is demanding 20 and RJD wants 18 seats. Congress wants 10 seats, and Left parties want to contest 5 seats. But Bihar has only 40 Lok Sabha seats. Lalu Yadav is unwilling to concede more seats to JD-U compared to his own party’s seats. Out of a total of 40 LS seats, if JD-U corners 20 and RJD 18, only two seats will be left for Congress and Left. The issue is really complicated. Lalu wants Nitish Kumar to shift to the Centre and vacate his chief minister seat for his son Tejashwi. He wants this to be done before the Lok Sabha elections. This led to intense speculations in Patna when Nitish called Tejashwi for a meeting. Already, BJP Union Minister Giriraj Singh has claimed that Lalu had told him on a flight that ‘conditions in Bihar will not improve unless Tejashwi is brought (as CM)’. Already, Rahul Gandhi has been pestering Nitish Kumar to induct two Congress ministers in his government. In Bihar politics, nothing remains a secret. Nitish Kumar knows that his innings in Bihar is now over, and he is biding his time. Several months ago, he was full of energy and had visited several state capitals to meet opposition chief ministers in order to bring anti-Modi opposition parties together. Nitish wanted to become the leader of a united opposition. But his plans ran aground when Congress sidelined him to make way for Rahul Gandhi, and Mamata Banerjee queered the pitch by floating Kharge’s name. On the other hand, it is Lalu Yadav’s strong ambition to realize his dream to see his son Tejashwi become the chief minister. For this, it is necessary that Nitish Kumar leaves Bihar, but as of now, Nitish’s fate hangs in balance. He is neither here, nor there. And the JD-U leaders are openly demanding projection of Nitish Kumar as PM candidate.
MAHARASHTRA
There is tussle in Maharashtra too. Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) has clearly said that it will contest 23 out of a total of 48 seats, and out of the remaining 25 seats, Congress and NCP will have to divide among themselves. Uddhav’s close aide Sanjay Raut said, his party had been contesting these 23 LS seats since the beginning. Raut said, he had met Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday, and that Uddhav and Aditya Thackeray had already spoken to Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. He was emphatic on Shiv Sena contesting 23 seats and also added that all talks over seat sharing will be held with the central Congress leadership, and not with the state unit. Maharashtra Congress working president Naseem Khan said, it is not proper to speak about number of seats so soon. “Seats should be distributed on the basis of winnability and all parties should support each other”, he said. NCP leader Vidya Chavan said, number of seats should not be made an issue of prestige, and the main aim should be to defeat BJP and Modi. Sanjay Raut is correct when he says that Shiv Sena had been contesting 23 LS seats in Maharashtra since the beginning. Shiv Sena was part of NDA and it had contested 23 seats in 2014 and 2019 elections. In 2019, it won 18 out of 23 seats it contested, while Congress had contested 25 and NCP had contested 19 seats at that time. Both Shiv Sena and NCP are now split. Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP are in NDA now. Congress feels it is in a stronger position now and has more bargaining power, but Uddhav and Sharad Pawar are trying to put more pressure on Congress. It seems difficult how Congress will adjust itself to such pressures.
UTTAR PRADESH
In Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party, the dominant party in INDIA alliance, is unwilling to concede more seats to Congress. Reports say, Akhilesh Yadav’s party wants to contest 76 out of a total of 80 seats in UP. This leaves four seats – two for RLD in western UP, and two, (Amethi and Rae Bareli) for Congress. To counter this, Congress leaders in UP have started saying that Mayawati’s BSP should be included in the alliance. Their argument is that without BSP support, it will be difficult to give a tough fight to the BJP in UP. People have already seen the fate of SP-Congress alliance during assembly elections. UP Congress chief Ajay Rai said, the issue of inducting BSP into the alliance was discussed at the Delhi INDIA meet, but SP leader Ramgopal Yadav opposed it. He said, if Mayawati is taken into the alliance, Samajwadi Party will walk out of the opposition bloc. On Friday, Akhilesh’s uncle Shivpal Yadav said, Mayawati is helping BJP secretly, she should first stop doing this and then talks can take place. Samajwadi Party is opposing Mayawati, but in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Akhilesh Yadav’s and Mayawati’s parties had contested polls jointly. That alliance helped Mayawati but caused big damage to Samajwadi Party. This is the reason why Akhilesh does not want to ally with Mayawati now. Secondly, Congress leaders feel that Samajwadi Party cannot transfer its votes to Congress during elections, but BSP’s traditional votes can be transferred to Congress if Mayawati joins the bloc. If SP refuses to leave more seats for Congress in UP, and Congress sticks to its stand, a situation to that of MP assembly elections can arise. Already, there are tussles between INDIA bloc parties for seats in Jharkhand, West Bengal, Delhi and Punjab, the joint opposition protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi notwithstanding.
JANTAR MANTAR PROTEST
Two issues emerged from Friday’s Jantar Mantar protest. One, mass suspension of opposition MPs. Why did it take place? Let me disclose. When Parliament shifted from its old Lutyens era building to the new complex, leaders of all political parties had promised Lok Sabha Speaker and Rajya Sabha chairman that they would surely maintain decorum in the new building. These leaders had then said that what happened for the last 75 years in the old building will not be repeated in the new complex. They had promised not to enter the well of the House and stage protest by holding placards inside the House. All parties agreed that if members had any grievances, they could stand near their seat and protest. All the parties had agreed that if members violated decorum, action will be taken against the members. If members themselves deliberately go back on their commitments, then what is the use of holding all-party meetings? Two, the issue relating to breach of Parliament security. It is a fact that there was a major breach in security and any big untoward incident could have taken place. It was the responsibility of the government to ensure security. But can one link this security breach issue with the issue of unemployment? Let me give one example. The youth who jumped into the Lok Sabha was a Class 12 pass out. His mother said, he did not want to do jobs, he drove an e-rickshaw. How can this be an unemployment issue, like Rahul Gandhi said at the Jantar Mantar protest? Fresh inputs that have come in course of police probe indicate that the group of youths who breached security, wanted to float a political party. They told investigators that they never expected that UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) will be slapped against them. They had hoped to get bail within 4-6 months after jumping inside the House, and come out as ‘heroes’. They were sold dreams of becoming a leader after committing this act. Hope, somebody should tell Rahul Gandhi that these youths are not those, whose jobs have been snatched away. They had intruded into Parliament in search of work in the world of politics. And, in this process, they committed a serious crime.
बृज भूषण को एक-न-एक दिन अपने किये की सज़ा ज़रूर मिलेगी
देश की बहादुर बेटियां फिर रोईं और आरोपी बृजभूषण शरण सिंह एक बार फिर ठहाके लगाकर हंसे. मेडल जीतने वाले चैम्पियन पहलवानों ने कहा कि वो हार गए. अब कुश्ती में आने वाली पीढियों को बेटियों के सम्मान की लड़ाई खुद लड़नी पड़ेगी. बाहुबली बृजभूषण शरण सिंह ने कहा कि “दबदबा था, दबदबा है, और दबदबा बना रहेगा”. आंखों मे आंसू लिए साक्षी मलिक ने कुश्ती की रिंग में अब कभी न उतरने का ऐलान किया और बृजभूषण शरण सिंह ने कहा कि भारतीय कुश्ती पर 11 महीने से चल रहा राहु काल खत्म हो गया, अब रिंग में उनके मुकाबले कोई नहीं. गुरुवार को भारतीय कुश्ती फेडरेशन WFI के चुनाव हुए. बृजभूषण शरण सिंह ने अपने सारे मोहरों को चुनाव जिता दिया – अध्यक्ष, वरिष्ठ उपाध्यक्ष, उपाध्क्ष, कोषाध्यक्ष, सचिव और कार्यकारिणी के सदस्य, सभी पदों पर बृजभूषण शरण सिंह के लोग जीते. हालांकि दावा ये किया जा रहा था कि अब बृजभूषण का फेडरेशन से कोई लेना देना नहीं है. विनेश फोगाट, साक्षी मलिक और तमाम महिला पहलवानों ने बृजभूषण पर लड़कियों के साथ जोर-जबरदस्ती करने, उनका यौन शोषण करने के इल्जाम लगाए थे. फेडरेशन में वित्तीय और दूसरी गड़बडियों के आरोप लगाए थे. दिल्ली के जंतर मंतर पर दो-दो बार खिलाड़ी धरने पर बैठे, खेल मंत्री ने कई दौर की बातचीत की. बृजभूषण के खिलाफ मुकदमा दर्ज किया गया. बीजेपी के बाहुबली सांसद को फेडरेशन और चुनाव से दूर रखने का भरोसा दिया गया. बृजभूषण और उनके परिवार के किसी सदस्य पर फेडरेशन का चुनाव लड़ने पर पाबंदी लगा दी गई लेकिन इसके बाद भी बृजभूषण बहादुर पहलवान बेटियों पर हंसते नजर आए और दावा किया कि 90 प्रतिशत वोट उनको मिले हैं. अब सवाल ये है कि क्या बृजभूषण सरकार से बड़े हो गए? क्या बेटियों का संघर्ष बेकार चला गया? क्या पहलवानों के आरोपों का कोई मतलब नहीं था? क्या दिल्ली पुलिस की चार्जशीट की कोई अहमियत नहीं? क्या मेडल जीतने वाली, देश का नाम रौशन करने वाली बेटियों के प्रति दिखाई गई सहानुभूति, उनसे किए गए वादे झूठे थे? चुनाव नतीजों का जश्न बृजभूषण के घर पर ही हुआ. चुनाव जीतने वाले पहले से बृजभूषण के घर पर मौजूद थे. WFI के अध्यक्ष पद के लिए संजय सिंह के खिलाफ राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों की स्वर्ण पदक विजेता अनीता श्योराण खड़ी थीं लेकिन कुल 47 वोटों में से संजय सिंह को 40 वोट मिले और अनीता श्योराण को सिर्फ 7 वोट मिले. जैसे ही नतीजा आया, बृजभूषण के घर पर जम कर आतिशबाजी शुरू हो गई. बृज भूषण विजेता की तरह घर से बाहर निकले. संजय सिंह बृजभूषण के पीछे पीछे चल रहे थे. बाकी पदाधिकारी भी नेताजी के अगल बगल थे. जो जीते, उनके गले में कोई माला नहीं थी, उन पर किसी तरह के फूल नहीं बरसे. सारी मालाएं बृजभूषण के गले में थीं, फूल भी नेताजी पर बरस रहे थे. बाहर आते ही बृजभूषण ने व्यंग्यात्मक हंसी के साथ विक्ट्री का साइन दिखाया, मूंछों पर ताव दिया, और कहा कि दबदबा था, दबदबा है, और दबदबा रहेगा, दबदबा तो भगवान का दिया हुआ है. बृजभूषण जब डायलॉग मार रहे थे तब नए अध्यक्ष संजय सिंह नेताजी के डायलॉग की वाहवाही कर रहे थे. संजय सिंह ने कहा कि वो भले ही चुनाव जीते हैं लेकिन कुश्ती की आत्मा तो बृजभूषण ही हैं. बृजभूषण ने कहा कि अब कुश्ती में नई जान आएगी. बृजभूषण नारे लगवा कर, मीडिया के सामने शेखी बघारकर, विरोध करने वाले पहलवानों को अपनी ताकत का अहसास करवा कर घर में वापस चले गए. उधर, विनेश फोगाट, बजरंग पूनिया और साक्षी मलिक टीवी पर बृजभूषण की बातें देख रहे थे, उनकी आंखों में आंसू थे. तीनों पहलवान काफी हिम्मत जुटाकर कैमरों के सामने आए, बोलने की बहुत कोशिश की लेकिन दो मिनट से ज्यादा कोई नहीं बोल पाया. सबने कहा कि अब और हिम्मत नहीं है, अब उम्मीद नहीं है, हम हार गए, पता नहीं हमारे देश में न्याय कहां मिलता है, सारे दरवाजे तो खटखटा लिए, अब कहां जाएं, जो आरोपी, गुनहगार हैं, वो जीत के ठहाके लगा रहे हैं, .हमारी बेबसी पर हंस रहे हैं, अब कुश्ती में लड़कियों का क्या होगा, वो नहीं जानते. साक्षी मलिक ने तो अपने जूते खोलकर टेबल पर रख दिए, रोते रोते बोलीं, अब कभी रिंग में नहीं उतरेंगी, कभी मैट पर दिखाई नहीं देंगी. इतना कहकर वह रोते हुए उठकर चली गईं. बृजभूषण ने जो कहा वो करके दिखा दिया. ये साबित कर दिया. कुश्ती संघ में दबदबा तो उनका ही रहेगा लेकिन आज देश के लिए मेडल जीतने वाली बेटियों के आंसू देखकर हर किसी का दिल रोया होगा. यौन शोषण का आरोपी बृजभूषण शरण सिंह का अट्टहास देखकर सबको सिस्टम की बेबसी पर गुस्सा आया होगा. बृजभूषण ने पहले ही कहा था, कुश्ती पर उनका दबदबा है और रहेगा, देश का नाम रौशन करने वाली पहलवान बेटियों से वादा किया गया था कि फेडरेशन को बृजभूषण के चंगुल से आजाद करा दिया जाएगा लेकिन चुनाव जीतने के बाद संजय सिंह अपने आका के घर पहुंचे, जीत का अहंकार बृजभूषण के चेहरे पर दिखा. उनकी तैयारी पूरी थी क्योंकि वोटर उनके थे, सिस्टम उनका था, जीतने वाला चेला उनका था. बृजभूषण छह बार के सांसद हैं, 50 से ज्यादा स्कूल कॉलेज चलाते हैं, कई बार जेल जा चुके हैं, बाहुबली हैं. उनका दावा है कि वो दबदबे से बीजेपी को चुनाव जिता सकते हैं. अगर उन्हें किनारे करने की कोशिश की गई तो वो समाजवादी पार्टी में जा सकते हैं. ये कारनामा वो पहले करके दिखा चुके हैं. महाबली बृजभूषण शरण सिंह मानते हैं कि उनके सामने धरने पर बैठने वाली लड़कियों की कोई हैसियत नहीं है. वह सोचते हैं कि ये चैम्पियन, पहलवान लड़कियां बीजेपी के किस काम की हैं, उनके पास ना वोट है, ना सपोर्ट है, इनके रोने-धोने से क्या होगा. लेकिन मुझे लगता है कि जीत के गुरूर में बृजभूषण शरण सिंह कुछ भूल रहे हैं. दिल्ली पुलिस ने उनके खिलाफ जो चार्जशीट फाइल की है वो बहुत खतरनाक है. लड़कियों ने उन पर यौन शोषण के जो आरोप लगाए हैं वो बहुत गंभीर हैं. अगर वो ये सोचते हैं कि फेडरेशन का चुनाव जीतकर अपना दबदबा दिखाकर वो आरोप लगाने वाली पहलवानों को डरा देंगे, गवाहों को धमकाकर पलटवा देंगे तो वो गलतफहमी में हैं. फेडरेशन में बृजभूषण के कब्जे की चिंगारी आग बनकर भड़केगी, साक्षी और विनेश के आंसू अदालत में तेजाब बनकर बरसेंगे. भगवान के घर में देर हैं, पर अंधेर नहीं है. कानून के लंबे हाथ जब बृजभूषण तक पहुंचेंगे तब उन्हें अपनी गलती का अहसास होगा.
ONE DAY BRIJ BHUSHAN WILL GET THE PUNISHMENT HE DESERVES
A shocked nation watched on Thursday as two top Indian female wrestlers wept in front of the media and one of them, Sakshi Malik, Olympic bronze medalist, put her athletic shoes on the table to announce that she was quitting sports. Sitting with her was Vinesh Phogat, the first Indian woman wrestler to win gold medals in both Asian and Commonwealth Games. Accompanying them was Bajrang Punia, 65 kg freestyle Olympic bronze medal winner and the only Indian wrestler to win four medals at World Wrestling Championships. As India’s medal winning daughters wept in public, the main accused in the sexual harassment scandal, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, former Wrestling Federation of India chief, stood at his residence, wearing garlands. He said laughingly, “Dabdabaa thaa, dabdabaa hai, aur dabdabaa rahgea” (meaning, my dominance was there, is there and it will be there). Singh said, he had been facing a bad time “Rahu Kaal” for the last 11 months, which was now over. His acolyte Sanjay Singh and his panel of candidates had swept the WFI elections. Singh’s supporters won the posts of President, Senior Vice President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and executive members. Singh had kept himself and his family members out of the elections. Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and several women wrestlers had levelled serious sexual harassment and exploitation charges against Singh. The wrestlers had sat on dharna at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar twice, had several rounds of talks with Sports Minister, a case was filed against Singh by Delhi Police, and the minister had assured that the ‘bahubali’ (strongman) will be kept out from WFI and its elections. A ban was imposed on Singh and any of his family members from contesting WFI elections. On Thursday, Singh had the last laugh. He claimed that his men garnered 90 per cent votes. The question now is: Has Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh become more powerful that the government? Did the struggle of our daughter wrestlers go in vain? Was the Delhi Police chargesheet against Sinha worth nothing? Were the promises made and sympathy shown to our medal winning wrestlers fake? There were celebrations and fireworks at Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s residence when the results were declared. Singh’s acolyte Sanjay Singh contested the post of President against the wrestlers’ choice Anita Sheoran. He got 40 out of 47 votes, while remaining seven votes went to Anita Sheoran. Brij Bhushan had made foolproof arrangements to ensure the victory of his supporters. Sanjay Singh had been working as the eyes and ears of Brij Bhushan for the last several years. He was vice-president of UP Wrestling Association, and had become WFI vice president. Since the government had prohibited Singh from contesting elections, Brij Bhushan wanted to anoint his son or his son-in-law as WFI chief, but this was not allowed by the government. The Centre wanted that Brij Bhushan’s control on WFI should go, but the wily politician found a way out. He fielded his acolytes, made them victorious and will now be running WFI with a remote control in hand. Watching them rejoicing on TV, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat told media persons that they have lost the battle and have now little hope of getting justice. Bajrang Punia said, he has still not lost hope and will continue his struggle for the sake of future generation of wrestlers. He expressed faith in the judiciary. Brij Bhushan has done what he had promised. His dominance will continue in WFI. It was heartbreaking for people watching the medal winner female wrestlers weeping on TV. Watching the sexual exploitation accused laughing in arrogance may have angered millions of people about the ineffectiveness of our system. Brij Bhushan had said several months ago that his ‘dabdabaa’ (dominance) will continue to remain in Indian wrestling. The girls who won medals and brought accolades for India were promised that they would be freed from the clutches of Brij Bhushan. But the broad smile on Brij Bhushan’s face said it all. He had the votes, the system, his winning acolytes with him. Brij Bhushan has been MP six times, he runs more than 50 schools and colleges in Uttar Pradesh, has been imprisoned several times in the past, is known as a ‘bahubali’ (strongman). He claims he can make BJP win vital parliamentary seats in UP, and if he was sidelined by his party, he would make the Samajwadi Party win those seats. He has done this in the past too. ‘Mahabali’ Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh knows that the female wrestlers sitting on dharna do not carry any weight. For him, these champion female wrestlers are not worth a dime for BJP, because they do not have votes, nor popular support. If Brij Bhushan thinks that by winning elections and ensuring his ‘dabdabaa’ in WFI, he will frighten these female wrestlers and arm-twist witnesses in his case, he is mistaken. The sparks of Thursday’s WFI elections are bound to fly and cause a big fire, Sakshi’s and Vinesh’s tears will act as acid rain in courts. In Hindi, there is a proverb, “Bhagwaan ke ghar me der hai, par andher nahin” (verbatim translation: In God’s abode, there can be delay, but there won’t be any injustice). When the long hands of law will finally reach Brij Bhushan, he will get his just desserts.
