बुधवार को मुझे महाकुंभ में जाने का अवसर मिला. मैंने योगी आदित्यनाथ के साथ गंगा किनारे एक बड़ा शो रिकॉर्ड किया. महाकुंभ से जुड़े जितने भी विवाद हैं, जिज्ञासाएं हैं, उन सब पर सवाल पूछे. क्या संगम का जल नहाने लायक है? क्या वाकई एक हफ्ते में 9 करोड़ से ज्यादा लोग वहां पहुंचे? लोगों की गिनती कैसे हुई? इतने सारे लोगों के लिए भोजन का क्या इंतजाम है? मेला क्षेत्र में साफ-सफाई का कैसे ध्यान रखा जा रहा है? क्या महाकुंभ पर इस बार साढ़े 7 हजार करोड़ रुपये का खर्चा होगा? इतना खर्चा करके उत्तर प्रदेश को क्या हासिल होगा?

कुछ सवाल राजनीतिक भी थे. जैसे महाकुंभ में कैबिनेट की बैठक करने की क्या आवश्यकता थी? क्या महाकुंभ में मुसलमानों के प्रवेश पर पाबंदी है? क्या यहां भी ‘बंटोगे तो कटोगे’ का नारा सुनाई देता है? योगी आदित्यनाथ ने किसी सवाल को नहीं टाला. हर सवाल का खुलकर जवाब दिया. सामने हजारों की तादाद में जनता थी और लोग योगी को देखकर बहुत जोश में थे. लेकिन बहुत दूर खड़े थे. पुलिस ने बैरिकेड लगा दिए थे.

जब मैंने स्टेज से देखा कि लोग दूर से नारे लगा रहे हैं, हाथ हिला रहे हैं, तो मैंने योगी जी से अनुरोध किया कि वह पुलिस से कहें कि इन लोगों को करीब आने दें. योगी ने तुरंत कहा, सब को आने दो, और फिर हजारों लोग दौड़ते हुए जब इस शो में पहुंचे तो वो नज़ारा देखने लायक था. चारों तरफ ‘जय श्री राम’ के नारे गूंजने लगे. ‘हर-हर महादेव’ की हुंकार सुनाई दी.

ये पूरा शो शनिवार को इंडिया टीवी पर प्रसारित किया जाएगा. इसका एक सवाल और एक जवाब आपको मैंने उदाहरण के तौर पर गुरुवार रात ‘आज की बात’ शो में दिखाया. इससे आपको अंदाजा होगा कि ये कितना बड़ा शो है जनता इससे किस कदर जुड़ी थी और कैसे योगी आदित्यनाथ ने करारे जवाब दिए.

मैं कुंभ नगरी में कुछ ही घंटे रुक पाया लेकिन इस दौरान जो देखा, वो अद्भुत था. पूरे रास्ते में चारों तरफ पॉन्टूंन पुलों पर हजारों लोग चलते जा रहे थे, चलते जा रहे थे. यहां बहुत सीमति वाहनों को प्रवेश की अनुमति थी. इसीलिए लोगों को घाट तक पहुंचने के लिए पैदल चलना पड़ता है. कोई बैकपैक्स लेकर, तो कोई सामान सिर पर उठा कर चल रहा था. पर कोई परेशान नहीं दिखा. लोग खुश थे. जगह-जगह भंडारे लगे थे. लोग रुककर खाना खा रहे थे. और फिर भजन गाते हुए चल पड़ते थे.

रास्ते में कहीं नट का खेल दिखाई दिया, रस्सी पर चलती लड़की दिखाई दी. कहीं प्रवचन देते बाबा दिखाई दिए. रेहड़ी, ठेले और खोमचे वालों की खूब कमाई हो रही थी. किसी ने मुझे बताया कि एक चायवाला दिन में 20 से 22 हजार रुपये कमा लेता है. ठहरने के लिए 100 रुपये का बिस्तर भी मिल जाता है और एक लाख रुपये का लग्जरी टेंट भी है, पर हर चीज़ का इंतजाम perfect था.

सबसे ज्यादा आश्चर्य मुझे यूपी पुलिस के बारे में सुनकर हुआ. लोगों ने बताया, पुलिस दोस्त बन कर मदद कर रही है. अगर कहीं रोकती है तो अनुरोध करती है. पुलिस को इतने प्यार से बात करते देखकर लोग भी हैरान थे. जो लोग ट्रेन से प्रयागराज पहुंच रहे थे, उन लोगों ने मुझे बताया कि भारी तादाद में लोग रेलवे से यात्रा कर रहे हैं लेकिन रेलवे स्टेशन बिल्कुल साफ सुथरा है. रेलवे स्टेशनों पर पुलिस वाले तैनात हैं . जिनके मोबाइल में एप है, उस एप के ज़रिए वो यात्रियों को बताते हैं कि उनकी ट्रेन कितने बजे आएगी कौन से प्लेटफॉर्म पर आएगी. रेलवे स्टेशन पर पुलिस के लोग खासतौर से बूढ़े लोगों को धक्का-मुक्की से बचाते हुए दिखाई दिए.

पुलिस का ये रूप बहुत कम देखने को मिलता है. यूपी पुलिस के DGP ने मुझे बताया कि लोगों से प्यार से बर्ताव करने के लिए पुलिस वालों को 6 महीने की ट्रेनिंग दी गई. मेरे show में योगी ने भी पुलिस की प्रशंसा की.

मुझे लगता है कि कुंभ में जाए बिना इस बात का एहसास नहीं हो सकता कि काम कितना बड़ा है और इसे कितनी कुशलता के साथ किया जा रहा है. सबसे ज्यादा उत्साह महाकुंभ में आने वाले साधु संतों मे नज़र आया. टीवी पर उनके प्रवचन से लेकर अलग-अलग रूप दिखाए जा रहे हैं. कोई हाथ उठाए हुए, कोई धूनी रमाये हुए, किसी किसी ने तो चिमटा भी चला दिया. सबसे ज्यादा क्रेज़ नागा साधुओं को लेकर है. एक संत ने मुझसे कहा कि आप जैसे मीडिया के लोगों ने कुंभ की महिमा को घर-घर पहुंचा दिया. महाकुंभ को ग्लैमराइज कर दिया. इसीलिए इतनी बड़ी संख्या में लोग आ रहे हैं.

महाकुंभ के आयोजन के लिए योगी हर दूसरे दिन वहां पहुंच जाते हैं. बुधवार को तो उनकी पूरी कैबिनेट उनके साथ थी. कैबिनेट बैठक के बाद ही वो मेरे शो के लिए संगम घाट पर आए थे.

I had the opportunity to visit the Maha Kumbh Mela at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, where I recorded a special TV show with UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. I asked questions relating to all issues that have been raised about Maha Kumbh.
The questions ranged from whether the water at Sangam was fit for bathing and drinking, the mode of measurement of the crowds that led to the claim that more than 9 crore pilgrims visited Maha Kumbh in the first week, the arrangements that were made for their food, hygiene and cleanliness.
There was also a question on how much UP would gain from religious tourism by spending Rs 7,500 crore on Maha Kumbh. There were some political questions too, like what was the need to convene a full-fledged Cabinet meeting at Maha Kumbh, whether entry of Muslims to the Kumbh Mela area has been banned, whether his ‘Bantogey Toh Katogey’ slogan was raised at the Mela?
Yogi Adityanath did not evade any question. He replied to each question, clearly and succinctly. There were several thousand people watching him speak. The audience was highly enthusiastic. Earlier, police had set up barricades to stop people from approaching the TV stage. When I saw from the stage, people shouting slogans and waving hands from a distance, I requested Yogi to ask police to allow people to come nearer. Yogi immediately responded and asked police to allow people to come nearer.
The response was electrifying. Several thousand people began running towards the TV discussion area, shouting slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’, ‘Har Har Mahadev’. The entire show with Yogi Adityanath will be telecast on India TV on Republic Day eve, Saturday (January 25) at 10 pm.
In my ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ show on Thursday night, I showed a question-answer sample. By watching it, you can have a fair glimpse of how the common public was involved in the TV discussion. Yogi Adityanath’s replies were emphatic. Due to time constraints, I could stay at the Kumbh township only for a few hours, but the zeal and energy level of pilgrims was astonishing and unique.
From all directions, thousands of people were walking long distances to reach the pontoon bridges to take a dip at the Sangam, considered the holiest place on Earth during Maha Kumbh Mela. Only a limited number of vehicles were allowed to enter and most of the people were walking continuously in the direction of the bathing ghats. Some carrying backpacks, some carrying loads on their heads, but most of them were nonchalant. Most of the pilgrims looked happy.
At several places, ‘bhandara’ (free kitchens) were arranged for providing food to the pilgrims. The rest were singings bhajans as they marched towards the ghats.
At some places, those from the ‘nat’ (traditional acrobats) community were holding their shows, with a girl walking on a tight rope. At some places, babas with hairlocks on their heads were giving ‘pravachan’ (sermons) to the devouts listening attentively. Shopkeepers selling goods on ‘rehdi, thela, khomcha’ (handcarts) were doing good business. Somebody told me ‘chaiwallahs’ were earning as much as Rs 20-22 thousand a day at the Mela, while beds were available for Rs 100 for a single night. Those who could afford were staying in luxury tents paying up to Rs one lakh.
Overall, the arrangements were foolproof. From common people, I was surprised to hear praises for UP police. Most of them were saying that the police were helping them as friends. Lakhs of people were visiting Prayagraj in trains. The station was kept clean and policemen were deployed to keep a close watch. Those having apps on their mobile phones were told when their trains would leave, and when a train would arrive at the platform. Policemen were seen helping the aged from being pushed around in the melee. The director general of UP Police told me that police personnel were given training for six months on how to deal with the crowds patiently and in a friendly manner. In my TV show, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanth praised his police.
You can gauge the vast magnitude of work that was put in efficiently, only when you visit the Maha Kumbh. The most happy ones were the sadhus and other ascetics. Their sermons were being shown on TV and other platforms. Some holding their arms high, some sitting cross-legged in front of a fire, some using ‘chimtas’ (iron tongs) to ward off pesky people. The crowd was crazy to see Naga sadhus, who do not wear even a loincloth and perform their penance under hard conditions.
A sadhu told me that it was the media which was taken the electrifying spirituality of the Maha Kumbh to each and every home in India, by adding a touch of glamour. This was the reason why people, in millions, are visiting Maha Kumbh daily.
Yogi Adityanath himself is doing a hands-on job. He has been visiting the Kumbh almost every other day. On Wednesday, he was there with his contingent of 54 cabinet ministers, and all of them took a holy dip at the Sangam. It was only after Yogi and his ministers took their holy dip, that the chief minister came to join my TV show.

अमेरिका में ट्रम्प ने अपने शासन के पहले दिन जो किया वो बेमिसाल है. कार्यभार संभालते ही ट्रंप ने दो घंटे में सौ से ज्यादा आदेश जारी किए. एक-एक आदेश चौंकाने वाला है. हर आदेश ऐसा, जिसकी चर्चा पूरी दुनिया में हो रही है. ट्रंप के ओवल ऑफिस में पहुंचते ही मेक्सिको सेना पर नैशनल गार्ड्स तैनात हो गई. गैरकानूनी प्रवेश को रोकने के लिए सीमा को सील कर दिया गया.

ट्रंप ने कहा है कि जल्दी अमेरिका में इतिहास का सबसे बड़ा डिपोर्टेशन प्रोग्राम शुरू होगा. अमेरिका में अवैध रूप से रह रहे दूसरे देशों के नागरिकों को वापस भेजा जाएगा. ब्लूमबर्ग एजेंसी ने दावा किया है कि ट्रंप प्रशासन ने 18 हजार भारतीयों की सूची तैयार कर ली है जो अमेरिका में अवैध रूप से रह रहे हैं. अब इन्हें वापस भारत भेजने की तैयारी हो रही है.

ट्रंप ने कुछ और बड़े फैसले किए हैं. जैसे अब अमेरिकी सरज़मीं पर जन्म लेने पर नवजात को स्वत: नागरिकता नहीं मिलेगी. अभी तक अमेरिका में रह रहे विदेशी लोगों के जिन बच्चों का जन्म अमेरिका में होता है, उन्हें अमेरिका का नागरिक माना जाता है. लेकिन अब ऐसा नहीं होगा. ट्रंप ने ये अधिकार खत्म कर दिया. ट्रंप ने अमेरिका की फेडरल एजेंसियों को आदेश दिया है कि वो किसी अप्रवासी या फिर वर्क वीज़ा पर अमेरिका में रह रहे शख़्स के बच्चे की अमेरिकी नागरिकता की अर्ज़ी को मंज़ूर न करें. एजेंसियों को ट्रंप ने अपने इस आदेश का पालन करने के लिए एक महीने का वक़्त दिया है. इसका असर लाखों लोगों पर पड़ सकता है. ट्रंप के इस आदेश को आगे चलकर अदालतों में चुनौती दिए जाने की आशंका है. लेकिन, ट्रंप ने कहा कि उनका आदेश पूरी तरह से क़ानूनी है और वो अदालतों का सामना करने के लिए तैयार हैं.

ट्रंप ने एक बार फिर अमेरिका को पेरिस जलवायु समझौते से अलग कर लिया है. 2015 में दुनिया के तमाम देशों ने ये समझौता किया था जिसके तहत ग्रीन एनर्जी को बढ़ावा देना और कार्बन एमिशन को कम करना था. लेकिन ट्रंप ने अपने पिछले कार्यकाल में भी पेरिस जलवायु समझौते से अमेरिका को अलग कर लिया था. चूंकि धरती के वायुमंडल को प्रदूषित करने वाली सबसे ज़्यादा गैसों का उत्सर्जन अमेरिका करता है, इसलिए, अमेरिका के पेरिस डील से बाहर होने पर ग्लोबल वॉर्मिंग होगी, धरती का तापमान और तेज़ी से बढ़ेगा.

ट्रंप ने अपने पहले कार्यकाल का एक और फ़ैसला दोहराते हुए विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन WHO से अलग होने का एलान किया है. 196 सदस्य देशों वाला WHO दुनिया भर में हेल्थ इमरजेंसी से निपटने के लिए काम करता है. WHO को सबसे ज़्यादा 20 परसेंट धन अमेरिका देता है. अमेरिका WHO को 50 करोड़ डॉलर देता है, वहीं चीन केवल 3.9 करोड़ डॉलर देता है.

डॉनल्ड ट्रंप ने साबित कर दिया कि वो जो कहते हैं, वही करते हैं और जो करते हैं, उसे पहले ही साफ-साफ कह देते हैं. White House मे काम संभालने के पहले ही दिन 100 ऑर्डर पहले कभी किसी राष्ट्रपति ने जारी नहीं किए. ट्रंप ने जो किया, वो अमेरिका के इतिहास में पहले कभी नहीं हुआ. सोमवार की रात जब मैंने ट्रंप का भाषण सुना तो उनके तेवर देखकर अंदाज़ा हो गया था कि वो पूरी दुनिया में खलबली मचाने वाले हैं. जिस अंदाज़ में ट्रंप ने जो बाइडन और कमला हैरिस के सामने पिछली सरकार की धुलाई की, वो चौंकाने वाला था. जब ट्रंप अमेरिका की पिछली सरकार को निकम्मा बता रहे थे, उनकी नालायकी का बखान कर रहे थे तो बिल क्लिंटन और बराक ओबामा के चेहरे देखने वाले थे.

ट्रंप ने जो फैसले लिए, उनमें सबसे बड़ा फैसला अमेरिका में गैरकानूनी तरीके से रह रहे लोगों को बाहर निकालने का है. अब एक करोड़ से ज्यादा इल्लीगल इमीग्रेंट्स को वापस उन मुल्कों में भेजा जाएगा, जहां से वो आए थे. ये कई सालों से अमेरिका की एक बड़ी समस्या रही है, पर आज तक किसी राष्ट्रपति ने इन्हें देशनिकाला देने की हिम्मत नहीं की क्योंकि एक करोड़ लोगों की पहचान करना, उन्हें वापस भेजना एक बहुत बड़ी चुनौती है. लेकिन ट्रंप जब ठान लेते हैं तो फिर दुनिया की कोई ताकत उनको रोक नहीं सकती.

ट्रंप ने जो फैसले किए उसमें दूसरी बडी बात अमेरिका के व्यापार, वाणिज्य को लेकर है. इन मामलों में अमेरिका के हर फैसले का असर पूरी दुनिया पर दिखाई देगा. सबसे ज्यादा दवाब चीन पर पड़ेगा. ट्रंप की नज़र हर उस व्यापार पर है, जिस पर चीन का कब्जा है. लेकिन ट्रंप ने अपने चुनाव प्रचार के दौरान कह दिया था कि वो विश्व व्यापार में अमेरिका के पुराने गौरव को वापस लाएंगे और चीन के वर्चस्व को खत्म करेंगे. उन्होंने इस दिशा में काम शुरू कर दिया है.

ट्रंप की नई नीतियों को देखते हुए भारत को भी अपनी रणनीति नए सिरे से बनानी होगी. भारत इस समय दुनिया में सबसे तेज़ी से बढ़ती हुई अर्थव्यवस्था है और अमेरिका के व्यापार से जुड़े हर फैसले का असर भारत पर भी पड़ेगा. ये असर कितना होगा, ये अभी कुछ दिन बाद पता चलेगा.

US President Donald Trump began his second term with a bang by signing a slew of sweeping executive orders. The orders ranged from ending birthright citizenship to withdrawing the US from WHO and Paris Climate Accord. Within a span of two hours, he signed more than a hundred executive orders, each of them surprising. The rest of the world is studying the implications of his orders. Soon after Trump reached his Oval Office, the US National Guards was deployed on Mexican border to stop illegal immigration.

Trump has said that the largest deportation program in US history would begin, and illegal infiltrators would be sent back to their countries of origin. According to Bloomberg, the Trump administration has prepared a list of nearly 18,000 Indians to be deported in the first phase.

Trump signed an order declaring that granting of automatic US citizenship to children born on American soil will be discontinued. Future children born to undocumented immigrants would no longer be treated as citizens. The order would extend even to the children of mothers staying in the US legally but temporarily, such as foreign students or tourists.

Several US lawmakers of Indian American origin have decided to challenge this order. “Trump’s order removes birthright citizenship for children born in the U.S. not just to undocumented parents but to ‘lawful’ immigrants who are temporarily on a student visa, H1B/H2B visa, or business visa”, said US Congressman Ro Khanna.

Trump signed orders directing resumption of oil and natural gas production in Alaska, imposing 25 pc tariffs on Canada and Mexico starting February 1, renaming Gulf of Mexico as Gulf of America, declaring national emergency on Mexican border, halting federal government hiring except for military, declaring that the federal government shall recognize only two biological sex, male and female, rolling back transgender protections, pardoned 1,500 persons convicted or charged in the attack on US Capitol on Jan 6, 2021, and keeping TikTok operating for 75 days.

Immediately after Trump signed the orders, border immigration and customs check posts near Mexican border stopped working and the National Guards took up positions on the border. Thousands of people waiting for entry into the US were stranded, despite having prior appointments with US Immigration authorities. The CBP One app that helped in appointments and checking of documents, stopped working.

Donald Trump has shown that he is going to implement all his electoral promises. No other US President in the past had signed more than 100 executive orders on the first day in office. What Trump has done is unprecedented.

I watched Trump speaking at his inauguration ceremony on Monday night. The tenor of his speech clearly indicated that he is out to create ripples across the world. The manner in which he criticized the outgoing administration, with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris sitting and watching, was surprising. As Trump was lambasting the outgoing administration for, what he said, “a horrible betrayal” and for running “a radical and corrupt establishment”, the faces of Barack Obama and Bill Clinton were worth watching.

For Trump, deporting more than a crore illegal immigrants will be a Herculean task. This has been America’s problem for the last several years, but no US President summoned the courage and tenacity to throw them out. To identify a crore illegal immigrants and deport them is a challenging one. But, when Trump makes up his mind, he does not mind and nothing can stop him.

The other significant steps that Trump took related to trade, commerce and business. Trump administration’s decision will have implications for most of the countries of the world. China may have to bear the major brunt. Trump has eyed all those business sectors which are presently under Chinese dominance. During his campaign, Trump had promised to regain America’s past glory in business and end China’s dominance. He has already started working from Day One.

India will have to be recast its strategy for dealing with Trump’s new immigration and trade policies. India is today one of the fastest growing economies of the world. Each trade related decision by the US can affect Indian industry. The implications will be known as the picture becomes clearer.

सैफ अली खान पर हुए कातिलाना हमले को लेकर दो तरह की खबरें आईं. एक तो ये कि पुलिस अभी तक हमलावर को पकड़ पाने में नाकाम रही है. कातिलाना हमला करने वाला वीडियो में साफ दिखाई दे रहा है, पर वो पुलिस के हाथ क्यों नहीं आया, ये एक रहस्य है.
दूसरी खबर ये है कि सैफ अली खान को ICU से स्पेशल रूम में शिफ्ट कर दिया गया है. दो तीन दिन डॉक्टर उन पर निगरानी रखेंगे. उसके बाद अस्पताल से छुट्टी मिल सकती है. लीलवती अस्पताल के डॉक्टरों ने कहा कि सैफ अली खान खतरे से बाहर हैं, वह तेजी से रिकवर कर रहे हैं, लेकिन पूरी तरह ठीक होने में थोड़ा वक्त लगेगा, क्योंकि चोटें बहुत गहरी और घातक थीं.
डॉक्टरों ने बताया कि सैफ अली खान की पीठ में घुसा चाकू रीढ़ की हड्डी तक घंसा था. अगर घाव 2 मिलीमीटर गहरा होता तो सैफ जिंदगी भर के लिए लकवाग्रस्त हो सकते थे. गले में लगा घाव अगर एक मिलीमीटर इधर उधर होता तो उन्हें बचाना मुश्किल हो जाता.
डॉक्टर कहते हैं कि ये ऊपर वाले का चमत्कार है कि सैफ बाल-बाल बच गए. सैफ की हिम्मत देखकर डॉक्टर भी हैरान रह गए . रीढ़ की हड्डी से ढ़ाई इंच का चाकू का हिस्सा निकला है, दो बड़े ऑपरेशन हुए और शुक्रवार को सैफ कुछ कदम खुद चले.
लेकिन सैफ पर जानलेवा हमला करने वाले शख्स को लेकर पुलिस अभी भी अंधेरे में है. क्या पुलिस को वाकई अपराधी का कोई अता-पता नहीं है? क्या वाकई पुलिस के पास हमलावर का कोई सुराग नहीं है? पुलिस ने दो संदिग्धों को हिरासत में लिया, पूछताछ की और बाद में उन्हें छोड़ दिया.
सैफ अली खान के केस में अब तक डॉक्टरों और पुलिस ने जो बताया है, उसकी वजह से रहस्य और गहरा हो गया है.
एक बात तो ये साफ है कि सैफ पर जो हमला हुआ, वो गंभीर था. कमर में और गर्दन पर चाकू का वार गहरा है. ये सिर्फ सैफ की किस्मत है कि चाकू रीढ़ की हड्डी या गर्दन की नस तक नहीं पहुंचा. वो बाल-बाल बच गए.
लेकिन पुलिस अभी उलझी हुई है. गुरुवार तक मुंबई पुलिस के DCP दावा कर रहे थे कि हमलावर की पहचान हो गई है और उसे कुछ ही घंटों में पकड़ा जाएगा.
पुलिस ने ये भी दावा किया था कि वो हिस्ट्री शीटर है, पुलिस के पास CCTV फुटेज है जिसमें हमलावर की साफ तस्वीर है. इसके बाद भी अब तक पुलिस हमलावर की पहचान तक नहीं कर पाई है.
मुंबई के 21 पुलिस थानों की टीमें, क्राइम ब्रांच की 12 टीमें पीछे लगी है और एक हमलावर को नहीं पकड़ पा रही है. ये मुंबई पुलिस की छवि के लिए अच्छा नहीं है.
जब ऐसे किसी हाईप्रोफाइल केस में खामियां दिखाई देने लगती हैं तो शक होता है कि पुलिस कुछ छिपाने की कोशिश कर रही है. इसी वजह से सोशल मीडिया पर तरह-तरह की अफवाहें फैलने लगती हैं.
जब तक पुलिस इस केस में हमलावर तक नहीं पहुंचेगी, जो वीडियो में सीढ़ियों पर चढ़ते-उतरते दिखाई दे रहा है, तब तक अटकलों का ये दौर चलता रहेगा.

With reports that the absconding attacker is frequently changing clothes and locations, the mystery about the murderous attack on actor Saif Ali Khan is deepening.

Many questions still beg answers. Who was the attacker? How did he enter the actor’s house bypassing security? What was the motive behind the attack? What exactly happened at the apartment on that fateful night?

It is now clear that the stabbings were ferocious. It was Saif’s fortune that the knife missed the actor’s spinal chord and the cranial nerve and artery on the neck.

Dr Nitin Dange of Lilavati Hospital said, the tip of the knife had reached the outer layer of spine, and had it entered even 2 millimetre deep, the actor would have faced paralysis. The stab on the neck was close to the main artery that supplies blood to the brain. Had the knife hit the artery, Saif’s life would have been in danger.

Dr Nitin Dange said, Saif suffered four crtical wounds, two on his arm and one each on his back and neck. He is now recovering fast.

While doctors are clear about Saif evading death by millimetres, Mumbai Police appears to be confused. Till Thursday, Mumbai Police DCP was claiming that the attacker has been identified and would be nabbed within five hours. Police had also claimed that he was a history sheeter, and since the police had CCTV footage about the attacker, he would be nabbed soon. Yet, the police is yet to correctly identify the attacker by name till now.

Teams from 21 police stations of Mumbai and 12 teams from Crime Branch are working on leads to nab the attacker. The delay in nabbing the culprit is denting the image of Mumbai Police.

Whenever loopholes appear in the probe during any high profile case, people start doubting whether police is trying to hide something. This has led to a spate of unnecessary speculations on social media. Unless Mumbai Police nabs the culprit seen walking up and down the stairs near Saif’s apartment in the CCTV footage, speculations will continue.

मुंबई से चौंकाने वाली खबर आई. फिल्म स्टार सैफ अली खान पर कातिलाना हमला हुआ. सैफ के घर में घुसकर हमलावर ने चाकू से 6 वार किए. दो घाव काफी गंभीर हैं. चाकू सैफ अली खान की रीढ़ की हड्डी में घुस कर टूट गया. उनकी गर्दन पर भी गहरा घाव है. हाथ और पेट पर भी चाकू से चोट लगी है. ऑपरेशन के बाद पीठ में घुसा चाकू का टुकड़ा निकाल दिया गया है. गर्दन और सीने पर आई चोट की सर्जरी की गई है. सैफ अली खान लीलावती अस्पताल में अब खतरे से बाहर हैं और उनको ICU से उनके रूम में भेज दिया गया है.

डॉक्टर्स का कहना है कि सैफ अली खान को जल्द डिस्चार्ज किया जाएगा लेकिन अब ह कई दिन चल फिर नहीं पाएंगे. सबसे बड़ा सवाल ये है कि हमलावर सैफ अली खान के फ्लैट में घुसा कैसे? उसे एंट्री कैसे मिली?

सैफ अली खान अपनी बिल्डिंग के बारहवें फ्लोर पर थे. ये हादसा 11वें फ्लोर पर हुआ. अपार्टमेंट के चारों तरफ सिक्योरिटी है. बिल्डिंग के बाहर और अंदर गार्ड्स तैनात है. किसी अनजान शख्स को बिना पूछताछ के अंदर नहीं जाने दिया जाता.

सैफ अली खान जिस सदगुरू अपार्टमेंट में रहते हैं, उसमें चार लेयर की सिक्योरिटी है. सबसे पहले गेट पर सिक्योरिटी गार्ड्स रहते हैं लेकिन पुलिस का दावा है कि चोर दीवार फांद कर घुसा. दूसरी लेयर लॉबी में लिफ्ट के करीब है. लिफ्ट बिल्डिंग में रहने वाले लोगों के थंब इंप्रैशन से खुलती है लेकिन दावा किया जा रहा है कि ये शख्स लिफ्ट के बजाए सीढियों से ग्यारहवें फ्लोर तक पहुंचा. सिक्योरिटी की तीसरी लेयर हर फ्लोर पर लिफ्ट खुलने के बाद ग्लास का डोर है जो उस फ्लोर पर रहने वाले लोगों के थंब इंप्रैशन, फेस रिकॉग्निशन या कार्ड से खुलता है.

इसके बाद अपार्टमेंट के अंदर जाने के लिए मुख्य दरवाज़े पर कैमरा और वॉयस मैसेज सिस्टम है. गेट पर पासवर्ड वाला लॉक है. इसके बाद भी हमलावर ग्यारहवें फ्लोर पर सैफ अली खान के घर के भीतर कैसे दाखिल हो गया? इसका अब तक कोई जवाब नहीं मिला और जब तक इसका जवाब नहीं मिलेगा तब तक ये साफ नहीं होगा कि जिस शख्स ने सैफ पर जानलेवा हमला किया वो वाकई चोरी के इरादे से घुसा था या उसका मकसद सैफ को नुकसान पहुंचाना था. राहत की बात है कि सैफ अली खान इस कातिलाना हमले में बच गए लेकिन इससे मुंबई की सुरक्षा व्यवस्था पर सवाल तो उठे हैं. इसी इलाके में सलमान खान के घर पर गोली चली थी. इसी इलाके में एनसीपी नेता बाबा सिद्दीकी की सरेआम हत्या हुई थी. ऐसे में लोगों की चिंता तो वाजिब है इसीलिए ये एक राजनीतिक मुद्दा भी बन गया.

उद्धव ठाकरे की शिवसेना, शरद पवार की NCP और कांग्रेस ने मुंबई की क़ानून व्यवस्था पर सवाल उठाए. संजय राउत ने कहा कि ये तो सैफ़ जैसे स्टार के ऊपर हमला था, इसलिए शोर मच रहा है वरना मुंबई के आम लोग रोज़ अपराधियों का शिकार हो रहे हैं. संजय राउत ने कहा कि महायुति सरकार का पूरा ज़ोर उन नेताओं की सुरक्षा पर है, जो दूसरी पार्टियों से टूटकर आए हैं, सरकारी को आम लोगों की कोई फ़िक्र नहीं. शरद पवार की बेटी सुप्रिया सुले ने कहा कि महाराष्ट्र में अपराध तेजी से बढ रहे हैं, अपराधी इतने बेलगाम हैं कि वो हाई सिक्योरिटी ज़ोन में घुसकर हमले कर रहे हैं, ये चिंता की बात है.

AIMIM के प्रवक्ता वारिस पठान ने कहा कि जिस दिन प्रधानमंत्री मुंबई में थे, सुरक्षा चाक-चौबंद थी. अगर उस दिन घर में घुसकर सैफ अली खान पर हमला हो सकता है तो बाकी दिनों में आम लोगों के साथ क्या होता होगा, इसका अंदाज़ा लगाना मुश्किल नहीं है. वारिस पठान ने कहा कि बांद्रा जैसे हाई सिक्योरिटी इलाक़े में एक के बाद एक तीन बड़ी वारदात हो चुकी हैं, इसलिए अब सरकार को जवाब तो देना पड़ेगा.

पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने कहा कि सैफ का परिवार गुरुदेव यानी रवींद्रनाथ टैगोर के ख़ानदान से जुड़ा है और वो सैफ की मां शर्मिला टैगोर का बहुत सम्मान करती हैं, इसलिए वो चाहती हैं कि सैफ के हमलावर को जल्दी से जल्दी पकड़ा जाए और उसको कड़ी से कड़ी सज़ा हो. दिल्ली में अरविंद केजरीवाल ने सैफ पर हमले को सीधे सीधे राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा से जोड़ दिया. केजरीवाल ने कहा कि बीजेपी की डबल इंजन की सरकार फेल हो गई है, बीजेपी न सीमाओं की सुरक्षा कर पा रही है, न आंतरिक सुरक्षा संभल रही है, जो हाल मुंबई का है, वहीं हाल दिल्ली की कानून व्यवस्था का है.

महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने कहा कि मुंबई भारत का सबसे सुरक्षित शहर है, एक-दो घटनाओं के आधार पर मुंबई को बदनाम नहीं किया जाना चाहिए.

ये सही है कि सैफ के घर में घुसकर उनपर कातिलाना हमला हुआ, ये बड़ी सुरक्षा चूक है, सरकार जवाबदेह है, लेकिन हमारे यहां राजनीति कितनी कमाल की है, ये भी देखने और समझने की जरूरत है. केजरीवाल के सामने दिल्ली का चुनाव है. उन्होंने मुंबई की घटना को दिल्ली से जोड़ दिया. ममता बनर्जी ने इसमें गुरुदेव रवींद्रनाथ टैगोर का कनेक्शन ढूंढ लिया. वारिस पठान ने इसे प्रधानमंत्री के मुंबई दौरे से जोड़ दिया और संजय राउत ने इस केस को शिवसेना की टूट से जोड़ कर देखा. इसलिए ऐसे बयानों को कोई गंभीरता से नहीं लेता. लेकिन देवेंद्र फडणवीस को जवाब तो देना होगा. जिस इलाके में कई फिल्मस्टार्स रहते हैं, वहां सुरक्षा में चूक तीन-तीन बार होगी, तो सवाल तो उठेंगे. उम्मीद करनी चाहिए कि कातिलाना हमला का सारा सच जल्द सामने आ जाएगा.

In a shocking incident at a penthouse atop a residential complex in Bandra, Mumbai, an intruder knifed actor Saif Ali Khan six times and then fled taking the staircase route. This incident has sent shockwaves across the Mumbai film industry and raised questions about whether our celebrities are really safe in Maximum City.

Saif Ali Khan underwent surgery in Lilavati Hospital, where surgeons removed the 3-inch top of the knife, close to the vertebrae in the mid-spine region, and doctors said, had the knife tip lodged a millimetre or so deeper, the wound could have been a major problem.

Saif, 54, is presently out of danger and has been shifted from ICU to his room on Friday. Meanwhile, Mumbai Police has caught a suspect from Bandra railway station, on the basis of cctv footage that showed the attacker going up and down the staircase.

Several questions arise. How did the intruder gain entry into the closely guarded complex?

The complex had four layers of security. At the main gate, security guards are deployed, but police says, the intruder scaled a wall. The second layer of security is near the lobby lift, which can open only on the basis of thumb impressions of residents. Police say, the intruder went to the 11th floor using the staircase.

The third layer of security is the glass door on each floor after the lift doors open. This glass door can open only on the basis of thumb impression or face recognition or by card.

For entry into the apartment, a camera and voice message system was placed at the main door, and the gate can be opened only by using a password lock.

There is no clear reply to the question: How did the intruder enter the apartment? Unless the questions are answered, the motive and intent of the intruder cannot be established. It was in Bandra locality that bullets were fired outside Salman Khan’s apartment, and in the same locality, NCP leader Baba Siddiqui was shot dead by an assassin.

Naturally, concerns arise, but it has also blowed up into a political issue. Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP(Sharad), AIMIM, TMC and Congress raised questions on law and order. West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said, Saif’s family was linked by marriage to Rabindranath Tagore’s clan after Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi married actor Sharmila Tagore. She demanded early arrest of the attacker. Former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal made it an issue of national security. He said, the ‘double engine sarkaar’ of BJP in Maharashtra has failed and law and order has deteriorated both in Delhi and Mumbai.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, Mumbai is the safest city in India and its police should not be defamed on the basis of one or two incidents. Fadnavis said, Mumbai Police would soon arrest the culprit.

It’s true that the murderous attack on a film star inside his residence was the result of a grave security lapse and the government is answerable, but one must understand our brand of politics.

Kejriwal is fighting Delhi assembly elections and he promptly latched Delhi with Mumbai on law and order issue. Mamata Banerjee found out Rabindranath Tagore family connections with the Pataudi family. AIMIM leader Waris Pathan linked the incident to the Prime Minister’s Sunday trip to Mumbai and Sanjay Raut linked this incident with the split in Shiv Sena.

Nobody takes the remarks of these leaders seriously. But Fadnavis will have to reply. If security lapse happens not once, but thrice, in a locality like Bandra, where top film stars reside, then questions will definitely arise. Let us hope the truth will soon come out.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has done it again. Two of his gaffes on Wednesday embarrassed the country’s oldest political party. His first gaffe: Rahul said, “Congress is not only fighting BJP, RSS, it is also fighting the Indian State”. His second gaffe: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat “has the audacity” to say that India did not get real freedom in 1947. Congress leaders were quick to defend Rahul by explaining the true definite of ‘Indian State’. By that time, the arrow had left the bow and BJP grabbed the opportunity with both hands.

BJP chief J. P. Nadda said, it is now clear that Rahul Gandhi has openly admitted that he hates India and that he openly supports anarchy, like the ‘Urban Naxals’. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said: “How can he say, his party is fighting the Indian State? Either it’s derailment of his mental coordinates or it is the George Soros toolkit. But how can any Indian say that he is against the Indian State? I think the several times re-launched leader, young at the age of 54, needs to do some serious introspection.”

BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “I pity Rahul Gandhi. He neither understands India, nor the Constitution. His tutors seem to be Maoists and Rahul is speaking the language of Maoists”.

The occasion was the inauguration of the new national headquarters of Indian National Congress. The party has now shifted from a government bungalow to a newly built building complex. Congress leaders clapped when Rahul spoke, but later several of them realized the gaffe and they started defending Rahul.

I think the sole intent of Rahul Gandhi’s remarks was to target Narendra Modi. He is unable to accept the fact that Modi has become the Prime Minister for the third time. During the last ten years, Rahul tried all the means at his disposal to defeat Modi.

Firstly, he tried to go solo, undertook padyatra, and then assembled all anti-Modi parties on a single platform. He launched video wars, but could not succeed. Rahul also instigated farmers, supported the ‘tukde-tukde’ gang, levelled corruption charges in Rafale deal, but he could not stop Modi from winning.

In the second round, Rahul took help on foreign soil from those running anti-India campaign, and tried to corner Dalit votes by raising his voice in support of Ambedkar, reservation and Constitution. Yet, Modi won again.

The reason why Rahul could not succeed is: he is unable to understand Modi thoroughly. Rahul is on his one-track spree, and he refuses to watch the direction in which Modi is moving. Rahul Gandhi is now convinced that Modi wins elections because he has the Election Commission and judiciary under his control and that Modi strikes fear among politicians by misusing ED. Rahul believes that the media is under Modi’s control. But he is badly mistaken. No single person or party can control all these institutions, forget occupying them and winning elections.

If Modi won elections, it was because of his zeal and toil. Modi toils round the clock in politics. He has the capability to toil for his party. Modi’s government has worked superbly in the last ten years. I need not recount them here. Modi himself narrates them in most of his speeches.

On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi and his associates are so deeply entrenched in their opposition to Modi that they are unwilling to listen to anything else. To quote a proverb, they are hunting for a black cat inside a dark room. The fact is: the black cat is not there inside the room.

कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने एक बार फिर गलती कर दी. एक बार फिर देश की सबसे पुरानी पार्टी को शर्मसार किया. बुधवार को राहुल ने कहा कि कांग्रेस की लड़ाई सिर्फ बीजेपी RSS से नहीं है, कांग्रेस की लड़ाई तो इंडियन स्टेट (भारत राज्य) से है. बाद में कांग्रेस के प्रवक्ता सफाई देने लगे. इंडियन स्टेट को अपने अपने तरीके से परिभाषित करने लगे. पर तीर कमान से निकल चुका था.

बीजेपी ने मौके को लपक लिया, राहुल के बयान को देशविरोधी बता दिया. बीजेपी अध्यक्ष जे.पी. नड्डा ने कहा कि अब तो राहुल गांधी ने सरेआम साबित कर दिया है कि वो देश से नफरत करते हैं, अर्बन नक्सल की बात पहले दबी जुबान से होती थी, लेकिन अब तो राहुल गांधी ने बता दिया कि वो देश में अराजकता पैदा करना चाहते हैं.

केंद्रीय मंत्री हरदीप पुरी ने राहुल को मानसिक तौर पर दिवालिया करार दिया. रविशंकर प्रसाद ने कहा कि राहुल को न तो भारत की, न ही संविधान की कोई समझ है, उनके tutor भी माओवादी है, इसीलिए राहुल अब माओवादियों की भाषा बोल रहे हैं.

राहुल ने जिस मौके पर ये बयान दिया वो भी ऐतिहासिक था, 40 साल बाद कांग्रेस का मुख्य कार्यालय एक नई इमारत में शिफ्ट हुआ. जब राहुल ने इंडियन स्टेट से जंग की बात कही, तो कांग्रेस के नेताओं ने तालियां बजाईं, बाद में एहसास हुआ कि गड़बड़ हो गई. जब चारों तरफ से हमले हुए तो कांग्रेस के नेताओं ने राहुल गांधी का बचाव किया. के.सी. वेणुगोपाल, सचिन पायलट, गौरव गोगोई से लेकर तेलंगाना के मुख्यमंत्री रेवंत रेड्डी सबने कहा कि राहुल गांधी तो बीजेपी द्वारा सरकारी संस्थाओं पर कब्जे की बात कर रहे थे, चुनाव आयोग की निष्पक्षता पर सवाल उठा रहे थे.

मुझे लगता है कि राहुल गांधी का मकसद सिर्फ और सिर्फ मोदी से लड़ना-झगड़ना है. वह इस बात को बर्दाश्त नहीं कर पा रहे हैं कि मोदी तीसरी बार प्रधानमंत्री बन गए. पिछले 10 साल में राहुल गांधी ने मोदी को हराने के लिए सब कुछ करके देख लिया. कभी अकेले लड़े, कभी पैदल चले. कुछ नहीं हुआ. सारी मोदी विरोधी पार्टियों का मोर्चा बनाया, वीडियो वॉर लॉन्च की, पर मोदी को हरा नहीं पाए.

राहुल ने क्या कुछ नहीं किया. किसानों को भड़काया, टुकड़े-टुकड़े गैंग का साथ लिया. राफैल विमानों की खरीद को लेकर भ्रष्टाचार के इल्जाम लगाए लेकिन मोदी को नहीं रोक पाए. दूसरे राउंड में राहुल ने विदेशों में जाकर भारत-विरोधी मुहिम चलाने वालों का सहारा लिया. भारत में आरक्षण, संविधान और बाबा साहेब आंबेडकर की बात करके, दलित वोट हासिल करने का प्रयास किया. लेकिन इसके बावजूद मोदी चुनाव जीत गए.

इसकी वजह ये है कि राहुल मोदी को समझ ही नहीं पाए हैं. वो अपनी धुन में हैं, देख भी नहीं रहे कि मोदी किस दिशा में जा रहे हैं, राहुल गांधी को पक्का यकीन है कि मोदी चुनाव इसीलिए जीतते हैं क्योंकि मोदी का न्यायपालिका पर नियंत्रण है, चुनाव आयोग उनके हाथ में है, मोदी ED का इस्तेमाल कर नेताओं को डराते हैं. राहुल मानते हैं मीडिया मोदी के कब्जे में है. पर ये राहुल की बहुत बड़ी गलतफहमी है.

इन सारे संस्थानों पर न कोई कब्जा कर सकता है और न कब्जा करने से कोई चुनाव जीत सकता है. मोदी ने अगर चुनाव जीते तो इसके पीछे मोदी की मेहनत है, राजनीति के लिए 24 घंटे अपने आप को खपाने की ताकत है. मोदी ने पिछले 10 साल में जबरदस्त काम किया है, मुझे वो बताने की जरूरत नहीं है. प्रधानमंत्री अपने हर भाषण में अपने काम गिनाते हैं, पर राहुल गांधी और उनके साथी मोदी विरोध में इतने खोए हुए हैं कि वो कुछ भी सुनने-समझने को तैयार नहीं हैं. वे तो एक अंधेरे, काले कमरे में एक काली बिल्ली को ढूंढ रहे हैं, जबकि बिल्ली उस कमरे में है ही नहीं.

मकर संक्रांति के दिन प्रयागराज के त्रिवेणी संगम पर शाम तक साढ़े 3 करोड़ श्रद्धालु स्नान कर चुके थे. वैसे तो दुनिया के सबसे बड़े धार्मिक आयोजन महाकुंभ की शुरूवात सोमवार को ही हो गई थी, लेकिन मकर संक्रांति के शुभ अवसर पर अमृत स्नान के साथ प्रयागराज में महाकुंभ की असली रौनक दिखाई दी. इसकी तस्वीरें देख कर आप चौंक जाएँगे. इतनी बड़ी तादाद में लोग कुंभ क्षेत्र में पहुंचे, संगम में डुबकी लगाई लेकिन कहीं भी, किसी को, किसी तरह की कोई दिक्कत नहीं हुई, कोई शिकायत करने वाला नहीं मिला. ये दुनिया वालों के लिए अद्भुत, अविश्वसनीय, अकल्पनीय है.

सबसे ज्यादा आश्चर्य की बात ये है कि कुछ ही घंटों के दौरान संगम में जितने लोगों ने स्नान किया, वह दुनिया के 52 देशों की पूरी आबादी से ज्यादा है. दुनिया की बड़े विश्वविद्यालयों और मैनेजमेंट संस्थानों के लोग सिर्फ ये जानने समझने के लिए प्रयागराज पहुंचे हैं कि इतनी बड़ी संख्या के लिए इंतजाम कैसे किए जाते हैं, भीड़ को संभालने का प्रबंध कैसे किया जाता है. कुंभ पैंतालीस दिनों तक चलने वाला है. अगले डेढ़ महीने तक लोग इसी तरह प्रयागराज पहुंचते रहेंगे. आगे जो दो अमृत स्नान और होने हैं, उनमें और ज्यादा भीड़ होगी. 29 जनवरी को मौनी अमावस्या के दिन संगम में डुबकी लगाने वालों की संख्या छह करोड़ तक पहुंच सकती है.
पूर्ण महाकुंभ का पहला अमृत स्नान हुआ. जैसे ही सूर्यदेव का धनु राशि से मकर राशि में प्रवेश हुआ, जैसे ही सूर्य भगवान उत्तरायण हुए, मकर संक्राति की बेला में, ब्राह्ममहूर्त में, संगम के तट पर श्रद्धालुओं का सैलाब उमड़ पड़ा. परंपरा के मुताबिक, सबसे पहले सभी 13 अखाड़ों के साधु-संतों, आचार्य, महामंडलेश्वर, नागा साधुओं, अघोरियों और महिला साधुओं ने स्नान किया. उसके बाद साढ़े तीन करोड़ से ज्यादा भक्तों ने संगम में स्नान, ध्यान और पूजा-अर्चना की.

सबसे पहले श्री पंचायती अखाड़ा महानिर्वाणी के साधु-संतों ने अपनी छावनी से संगम की तरफ जुलूस निकाला. उसके पीछे-पीछे श्री शम्भू पंचायती अटल अखाड़े का जुलूस था. इन अखाड़ों में सबसे आगे हाथों में तलवार, भाला, त्रिशूल और गदा लिए नागा साधू चल रहे थे. उनके पीछे अखाड़े के आचार्य और पीठाधीश्वर अपने रथ पर सवार थे.

सनातन परंपरा और शास्त्रों में वैसे तो कुल 13 अखाड़े हैं लेकिन महाकुंभ में लोगों के बीच सबसे ज्यादा उत्सुकता जूना अखाड़ा और निरंजनी अखाड़े के नागाओं को देखने की होती है. मंगलवार को जब महानिर्वाणी और अटल अखाड़े के बाद निरंजनी और जूना अखाड़े के नागा जब संगम की तरफ बढ़े, तो वहां मौजूद पुलिस फोर्स ने साधु-संतों के चारों तरफ सुरक्षा घेरा कड़ा कर दिया. जूना अखाड़े के हज़ारों नागा साधू हर-हर महादेव का उद्घोष करते हुए संगम की तरफ बढ़े और अखाड़े के आचार्य, पीठाधीश्वर, महामंडलेश्वर और दूसरे बड़े संतों के साथ स्नान किया.

साढ़े तीन करोड़ लोग एक जगह इक्कठे हों, बिना किसी भगदड़ या धक्कामुक्की के स्नान करें, कहीं कोई गड़बड़ी न हो, किसी तरह की असुविधा न हो और सब खुशी खुशी वापस चले जाएं, ये दुनियाभर के लिए हैरानी की बात है. इसकी व्यवस्था करना कोई आसान नहीं होता. इतनी बड़ी संख्या को नियंत्रित करना, उनके लिए सारी व्यवस्थाएं करना बहुत बड़ी चुनौती होती है. लेकिन योगी आदित्यनाथ ने इस चुनौती को बड़ी सरलता से पूरा किया. महाकुंभ में ढ़ाई सौ से ज्यादा IAS, PCS अफसरों को लगाया गया. यूपी पुलिस के महानिदेशक और सरकार के प्रमुख सचिव खुद सारे इंतजामात को मॉनीटर कर रहे थे. दस हजार हैक्टेयर में फैले कुंभ क्षेत्र को 25 से ज्यादा सैक्टर्स में बांटा गया है. अखाड़ों के स्नान के लिए अलग घाट बनाए गए. सभी अखाड़ों के साधुओं के लिए घाट तक आने जाने के अलग अलग रूट तय़ किए गए. अलग अलग दिशाओं से आने वाले श्रद्धालुओं के लिए अलग रास्ते बनाए गए.
आपको जानकर आश्चर्य होगा कि दुनिया के 52 देशों की आबादी साढ़े तीन करोड़ से कम है. यानि इतने देशों की जनसंख्या से ज्यादा लोगों ने प्रयागराज में बारह घंटे के दौरान पवित्र डुबकी लगाई.

करीब चालीस देशों के लोग भी छोटे छोटे जत्थों में प्रयागराज पहुंचे हैं. विदेशी भक्तों ने भी महाकुंभ में आस्था की डुबकी लगाई. ये लोग सनातनी नहीं है, हमारी भाषा नहीं समझते, हमारी संस्कृति को नहीं जानते. लेकिन महाकुंभ में आकर विदेशी भी सनातन के रंग में पूरी तरह डूबे दिखाई दिए.

साढ़े तीन करोड़ की भीड़ को मैनेज करना हंसी खेल नहीं हैं. हालांकि कुछ लोग कह सकते हैं कि टैक्नोलॉजी की मदद से, AI का इस्तेमाल करके, पुलिस फोर्स लगाकर भीड़ को कन्ट्रोल किया गया. लेकिन मुझे लगता है कि करोड़ों की भीड़ सिर्फ टैक्नोलॉजी के जरिए कन्ट्रोल नहीं की जा सकती. इसके लिए सटीक प्लानिंग, मानव संसाधनों का बेहतर इस्तेमाल, भक्तों की संख्या का सही अनुमान, उनकी जरूरतों के हिसाब से इंतजाम, आपात स्थितियों का सही आकलन और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण दृढ़ इच्छाशक्ति जरूरी है.

योगी आदित्यनाथ ने अपनी संकल्पशक्ति के साथ यही किया. दो साल पहले से महाकुंभ की तैयारी शुरू की, बार बार प्रयागराज के दौरे किए, एक-एक चीज पर खुद नजर रखी, सबसे काबिल अफसरों को प्रयागराज में तैनात किया, सारी छोटी-बड़ी व्यवस्थाओं को खुद देखा, प्रॉपर प्लानिंग की, इसलिए पहला अमृत स्नान बिना किसी बाधा के सकुशल संपूर्ण हुआ.

इसका श्रेय योगी आदित्यनाथ की सरकार के साथ साथ उनके अफसर, सुरक्षा में तैनात पुलिसकर्मी, वालेंटियर्स और सफाई कर्मचारियों को भी मिलना चाहिए. हालांकि अभी उनकी जिम्मेदारी खत्म नहीं हुई है. अभी महाकुंभ डेढ़ महीने तक चलना है. इसलिए प्रार्थना करनी चाहिए कि सब कुछ अच्छा रहे और महाकुंभ में आने वाले सभी श्रद्धालु गंगा स्नान करके सनातन का जयकारा लगाते हुए सकुशल अपने घर वापस जाएं.

At the planet’s biggest religious congregation in Prayagraj, more than 3.5 crore pilgrims and ascetics had taken a holy dip at the Triveni confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati by Tuesday evening. Never before in world history had such a humungous multitude of pilgrims congregated at one place to offer religious prayers. For the rest of the world, this was incredible, unimaginable and unique.

The number of pilgrims who took a holy dip on Makar Sankranti can equal the population of several countries. Experts from big universities and management institutes have reached Prayagraj to study the complex nature of crowd management made for the event to pass off smoothly, without a hitch. Purna Maha Kumbh will continue for 45 days in Prayagraj and there are two more big ‘Amrit Snans’ pending, when more crowds will congregate. By January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), the number may cross six crore.

If one adds the population of 52 countries, it will touch 3.5 crore. The number of pilgrims who took a holy dip on Tuesday was more than this figure. Managing a huge crowd of 3.5 crore is not a matter of joke. Adequate police force was deployed to control crowd movement. I personally feel that one cannot control such a humungous crowd only with the help of technology. It needs careful planning, better use of human resources, correct calculation about number of expected pilgrims, arrangements according to needs, correct analysis about emergency situations, and last, but not the least, strong will power. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath did this because of his strong determination and will power.

The arrangements for Kumbh Mela had begun two years ago. Yogi personally visited Prayagraj frequently, kept a personal and close watch on each and every requirement, posted his most capable officers at the venue, did proper planning, and the result was : the first ‘Amrit Snan’ on Tuesday passed off peacefully without a hitch. The credit for this goes to Yogi Adityanath’s government, his officers, police personnel, volunteers and ‘safai karmacharis’. The work is not yet over. More than a month and half are left, and one prays that everything passes off peacefully.

For the pilgrims and ascetics, it was an experience of a lifetime. The heady atmosphere at the dawn of Makar Sankranti in Prayagraj, with hundreds of Naga sadhus walking with swords, spears, tridents and maces in their hand, followed by their ‘akhada’ chiefs and ‘Pithadheeswaras’, was a sight to see. Helicopters were arranged to sprinkle flowers on the ascetics.
