India’s war against terror : Pakistan in fear mode
For the first time since the 1962, 1965 and 1971 wars, India will witness nationwide security drills on May 7, as tension mounted on the India-Pakistan border, post-Pahalgam attack. During this drill, air raid warning sirens will be followed by blackout in cities and towns. Vital plants and installations will be camouflaged in the face of enemy air attacks. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is chalking out plans to strike at handlers of terrorism in Pakistan, in his meetings with National Security Adviser, Defence Secretary, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy chiefs. Pakistan’s political leaders and army generals are now in fear mode. One can assess this by watching the ongoing debate in Pakistan National Assembly, where leaders from almost all mainstream parties questioned how the army plans to meet India’s challenge. Even maulanas outside Lal Masjid are questioning whether Pakistan’s army can face India’s onslaught. Pakistan army chief Gen Asim Munir has been cornered. He and his generals are parroting the line that any action by India will get a strong and forceful response. But these bravados are only meant to boost the morale of its soldiers and people. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s diplomats have been busy seeking intervention from the US, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other Middle East nations, but till now, they are yet to get firm assurances.
How Modi hit at Pakistan where it hurts most
Post-Pahalgam attack, people in Pakistan believe that the entire issue relates to terrorism and it has nothing to do with religion. Pakistan’s political and military leadership wants to hide its brutal act in Pahalgam behind the facade of religion. Pakistanis know that Narendra Modi will not leave the perpetrators unpunished and Pakistan’s army does not have the capability or determination to face india’s challenge. Pakistan Air Force had to abruptly cut short its war exercise because of lack of funds and weapons. Forget defence equipment, Pakistan’s government does not have money even to feed its poor, if IMF refuses to release more tranches under the $8 billion loan assistance. India, on its part, has decided to obstruct Pakistan’s plea for IMF loan. India has changed its executive director on IMF board and has made it clear that since Pakistan is aiding and abetting terrorists, it must not be given IMF assistance. IMF board is due to meet on May 9 to decide on Pakistan’s proposal and India’s vote in this meeting will be vital. On Monday, India stopped Chenab water flow from Baglihar and Salal dams resulting in water shortage in Pakistan. Though the gates of these dams were reopened after 11 years, it cause a huge scare in Pakistan. Till now, under the Indus Water Treaty, Pakistan had been getting abundant water from Indus, Chenab and Jhelum rivers. These three rivers are the lifelines of Pakistan, because the neighbouring country gets 80 per cent of its drinking water from these three rivers. But India exercises 100 per cent control on water flow from these rivers. If India stops water from Indus, Chenab and Jhelum, Pakistan’s agriculture sector will be smashed. This sector grows wheat, paddy, cotton, mustard and other crops. 45 per cent of people in Pakistan work in the cotton sector. A civil war-like situation mayt develop if farmers are deprived of water from Indus system.
Why Congress is making a mockery of itself?
Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai mocked the Centre by brandishing a Rafale toy jet plane tied with ‘nimbu-mirchi’ (lemon-chillies) at a press briefing. He attacked the Modi government for not taking action against Pakistan post-Pahalgam attack. He said, “They bought Rafale jets, but they are lying in hangars with chillies and lemong tied to them. When will the government take action against terrorists and their handlers?” This video was soon circulated in Pakistani media, and its anchors made fun of India. BJP leaders condemned Ajay Rai for mocking India’s Rafale jet fighters. I am surprised that despite Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge promising at the all-party meeting to support Modi government for taking action against Pakistan, their party leaders are making a mockery of this commitment. What Ajay Rai did was a shameful act, He was questioning the fire power of our armed forces. On one hand, Pakistan’s leaders and army generals literally fear Rafale jet fighters acquired by India, and here is a senior Congress leader displaying a toy plane to mock our Air Force. It clearly displays the thinking of Congress leaders behind the veneer of patriotism. I hope, Rahul Gandhi realizes public sentiment. He must have also realized that he commited a mistake in 2019 when IAF struck in Balakote, deep inside Pakistan, to destroy a terrorist hideout post-Pulwama killings. Rahul had at that time questioned Indian Air Force’s claim. It is difficult to comprehend how Congress leaders make irresponsible statements despite clear directions from the party high command to be careful while commeting on the present situation.
Modi’s promise : End of game for terrorists and their perpetrators
All eyes are now on the Indian armed forces, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed to avenge the killings of Hindu tourists Pahalgam, while addressing a rally in Bihar. Modi said, “the enemies of nation have shown the audacity to attack the very soul of India..Those who plotted this attack will be given the punishment that they would not even have imagined.. From Kargil to Kanyamurai, the grief of Indian people is the same, the anger is the same.” Modi did not name Pakistan, but his hint was quite clear. What Modi said in Bihar reflected the voice and sentiment of the entire nation. People are angry and they want Pakistan to be taught a lesson. This was the reason why Modi used the phrase “mitti mey milaa dengey” (we will raze them to dust) in his speech. Modi always walks the talk. He does what he says, and he says what he intends to do. The Pakistani army establishment is worried and is fearing a war. Some war experts and retired generals say, India must not resort to a knee-jerk reaction. But the people are crying for revenge. They want a fight to the finish against terrorism on the western front. Today, the entire nation stand behind Modi and there is full outbreak of anger towards Pakistan. The time is right to strike when the iron is hot. Pakistan has realized this and is fearing something big is going to happen.
Pakistan army cowering in fear
In Islamabad, after a National Security Committee meeting presided over by PM Shahbaz Sharif and attended by Army Chief Gen Asim Munir and other generals, the deputy PM, Defence Minister, Law Minister and Information Minister addressed a press conference to say that Pakistan does not support terrorism. Meanwhile, Pakistani army has begun troop movement near the borders in Rajasthan and Kashmir and tanks and heavy weapons are being shifted from Afghan border to the Indian border. Pakistani fighter jets were seen flying along with cargo planes to transport troops and weapons to the Indian border. The ground reality is that the military powers of India and Pakistan need no comparison. India has defeated Pakistan in three wars, and the Pakistan armed forces, out of fear, is sending its troops and fighter planes here and there. Pakistani Navy has been asked to be prepared for surface firing. Very soon, Pakistan is going to say that it has nuclear bombs. I remember Pakistani journalist the late Tareq Fatah saying in ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ that Pakistani nuclear bombs contain nothing but ‘falooda’ (vermicelli syrup) because the army generals were engaged in corruption and the army has lost its fighting power. I also remember former Army Chief Gen. Qamar Bajwa saying that his army has no capability left to fight an all-out war beyond three days. PoK activist Amjad Ayub Mirza was saying on Thursday that many of the Pakistani fighter jets are lying in poor condition because of lack of spare parts, and Pakistani tanks do not have enough diesel for going on long distance attacks. Pakistan wants to show to the world that Kashmir is no more under India’s control, but the world is watching that nothing is under control in Pakistan – neighther PoK, nor Baluchistan, nor Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa. If Pakistan carries out any misadventure, it will have to fight on four fronts.
Is Gen. Asim Munir the real butcher of Pahalgam?
Former Pakistani army major Adil Raja has claimed that the killings of Hindu terrorists in Pahalgam were carried out on the directions of Army Chief Gen. Asim Munir. Adil Raja says, the people of Pakistan are not happy with their Army Chief and to curb the growing voices of dissent, Gen. Munir chose the old formula to carry out a big terror attack in Kashmir to save his chair. There is another video viral on social media which shows Pakistani army officers moving among the people and quoting Quran and Hadees to tell them that they should not worry because army would soon capture Kashmir and the Indian PM will be captured. One thing is clear: the killings in Pahalgam were carried out by ascertaining the religious identities of the victims. This is a purely Pakistani conspiracy and the planning was approved by Pakistani Army Chief Gen Asim Munir. At a public event this week, Gen. Munir had described Hindus and Muslims as two different nations. He spewed venom against Hindus and it was not a mere coincidence that the Pahalgam killings took place soon afterwards. It was all part of a big conspiracy. The former Pakistani army major Adil Raja has exposed Gen. Munir before the world. Pakistan has been training and exporting terrorists to Kashmir, and the PoK so-called Prime Minister has admitted this. Now, Pakistan is fearing retribution from India. If India attacks Pakistan, the overall situation in Pakistan will deteriorate to an unimaginable level. The common Pakistani is bewildered. That is the reason why an army officer is going to the people and quoting Quran and Hadees to boost their morale. The people and army of Pakistan realize it clearly that they lost three wars with India in the past.
Modi’s plan is ready: Decisive assault this time
Soon after the Cabinet Committee on Security decided on suspension of World Bank-backed Indus Waters Tready, closing of Integrated Check Post at Attari border, expulsion of Pakistani air, navy and army attaches from Delhi, expulsion of all Pakistani nationals visiting India and reduction in strength of High Commission from 55 to 30, the speculations are now about what further actions India will take. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said, India will take action against those who planned this terror attack. The plans are ready, the targets are clear and the wait is only for the right time to strike. I do not have an iota of doubt that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already prepared his action plan. The action will be decisive this time. It will be of a magnitude that will strike fear in the minds of terror masterminds. Modi is not the type of leader who thinks about the reactions that could take place because of his action. Modi is not made of the mettle in which he would tolerate an attack on the nation. Pakistan will have to pay a big price for this horrendous terror attack. For Modi, India’s pride is supreme. This action will be watched in the coming days. The entire nation and the world will see.
Proof of Pakistan’s hand in Pahalgam
Pakistan has attempted to distance itself from Pahalgam attack with its Defence Minister Khawaja Asif claiming that his country “has nothing to do” with the massacre and it was a “homegrown uprising against India’s Hindutva regime”. Pakistan may deny a hundred times, but the entire world knows that Pakistan has been sheltering terror groups and providing them monetary and weapons support. It is Pakistan which asks these terrorists to cross the border and carry out attacks. Till now, Indian has not even named Pakistan, and already Pakistan has started offering clarifications. It reflects Pakistan’s guilty conscience. Pakistan knows that India can enter its territory and strike at terror hideouts. Neither the US, nor Saudi Arabia or Putin’s Russia will come to Pakistan’s help. This is because Pakistan is exposed before the world for nurturing terrorists of different brands. Already, digital evidence of the attackers in Pahalgam in contact with their sponsors sitting in Pakistan are available. The videos of targetted killings of Hindu tourists, using sophisticated weapons and firing point-blank at victims, can unnerve even a mind made of steel. Terrorists cannot do this without getting army training in Pakistan. They were using latest communication devices including bodycams. The support came from Pakistan army and its spy agency ISI. It was a planned, professional job and there is no scope for any doubt. The attackers selected the spot where there was no police deployment ever. They knew it takes at least 20 minutes to reach the hilly meadow and the killers knew they could easily finish their job and hide in the forests. India’s stand is quite clear. It was a targetted killings of Hindus and the main conspirator was Pakistan army and its ISI.
Robert Vadra’s political immaturity
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi’s husband Robert Vadra has waded into controversy by seeking to link the Pahalgam massacre with forces trying to create Hindu-Muslim divide in India. In an interview, Robert Vadra, a businessman, said: “If you dissect this terrorist act that took place, if terrorists are looking at people’s identity, why are they doing this? Because there’s a divide that has come about in our country with (sic) Hindus and Muslims, and also Christians. Looking at identities and then killing somebody, that’s a message to the PM, because Muslims are feeling weakened. The minorities are feeling weakened.” BJP immediately reacted describing this remark as shocking and shameless. At a time when the entire nation, including all political parties stand united, Robert Vadras has made a ridiculous statement. Is he trying to justify the terror act? Does he want to give the attackers an excuse? What evidence does he have about Muslims in India being persecuted because of which terrorists made target killings of Hindus? I consider this as a sign of political immaturity. It is a childish remark. Robert Vadra should listen to Kashmiri Muslims, and to the reactions of Kashmiri Muslim youth who died while trying to save Hindu tourists in Pahalgam. He should see visuals of Kashmiri Muslims staging protests condemning the terror attack and keeping shops and markets closed to mourn the dead.
