पश्चिम बंगाल और असम में भारतीय जनता पार्टी की ऐतिहासिक विजय वाकई आश्चर्यजनक है. वैसे ही मतदान वाले दिन भारी संख्या में वोटरों का मतदान केंद्रों पर आना चौंकाने वाला था, लेकिन 4 मई को जो नतीजे आए, वो सब आश्चर्य में डालने वाले थे.
बंगाल में आज़ादी के बाद पहली बार भाजपा की सरकार बनेगी, तमिलनाडु में 60 साल बाद द्रविड़ राजनीति की विदाई हो गई, परिवारवादी सियासत पर ब्रेक लगा और पहली बार चुनाव लड़ रहे सुपरस्टार जोसेफ विजय राजनीति में एक नये नायक के रूप में उभरे.
2014 के बाद पिछले 12 साल में भाजपा का समूचे भारत में जिस तरह विस्तार हुआ, वह एक ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि है. 2014 में जब नरेंद्र मोदी प्रधानमंत्री बने थे, उस समय भाजपा और उसके मित्र दलों की सात राज्यों में सरकारें थीं, जबकि कांग्रेस और उसके मित्र दलों की 14 राज्यों में सरकारें थी. सात राज्यों में क्षेत्रीय पार्टियों की सरकारें थी. उत्तर प्रदेश, बिहार, महाराष्ट्र और उत्तर पूर्वी राज्यों में भाजपा की सरकारें नहीं थी.
चार साल बाद 2018 में भाजपा ने अपने पैर पसारे. यूपी, महाराष्ट्र, असम और जम्मू कश्मीर में भाजपा और मित्र दलों की सरकारें बनीं.
आज तस्वीर बिल्कुल अलग है. 22 राज्यों में भाजपा और उसके मित्र दलों की सरकारें हैं, जबकि कांग्रेस और उसके मित्र दलों की सिर्फ 6 राज्यों में सरकारें हैं. भाजपा की अपनी सरकारें 14 राज्यों में हैं, जबकि बाकी 8 राज्यों में मित्र दलों के साथ उसकी सरकारें हैं.
कांग्रेस उल्टी दिशा में बहने लगी. 2014 में कांग्रेस और उसके मित्र दलों की सरकारें 14 राज्यों में थी, जहां की आबादी 44.5 करोड़ थी. अब यह सिमट कर 8 राज्यों की केवल 20.6 करोड़ आबादी तक सीमित रह गई.
प्रधानमंत्री बनने के बाद पिछले 12 साल में नरेंद्र मोदी ने बीजेपी को चुनाव लड़ना और जीतना सिखाया. जहां सरकारें बनीं वहां फिर से सफलता पाना सिखाया.
आज देश के 22 राज्यों में NDA की सरकारें हैं. गंगोत्री से गंगासागर तक कमल खिला है और जीत की ललक का आलम ये है कि बंगाल में ऐतिहासिक जीत के बाद अभी से ही पंजाब और उत्तर प्रदेश में चुनाव की तैयारी शुरू हो गई.
जीत की ये लालसा जगाने का और बीजेपी को इसके लिए तैयार करने का पूरा श्रेय नरेंद्र मोदी को जाता है.

पश्चिम बंगाल

मुझे आज वो दिन याद आया जब 1993 में कोलकाता में Writers’ building (राज्य सचिवालय) की सीढ़ियों पर ममता बनर्जी को बालों से पकड़कर घसीटा गया था. तब उन्होंने कसम खाई थी कि वो मुख्यमंत्री बनकर ही Writers’ building में लौटेंगी.
2011 में उन्होंने कसम पूरी की लेकिन आज नरेंद्र मोदी की लोकप्रियता और अमित शाह की रणनीति ने ममता को 15 साल बाद मुख्यमंत्री के कार्यालय से बाहर कर दिया. खुद ममता बनर्जी भवानीपुर से चुनाव हार गई.
ममता बनर्जी जबरदस्त फाइटर हैं. उन्हें हराना आसान नहीं था. इस चुनाव का micro management और बूथ लेवल की इंजीनियरिंग का काम अमित शाह ने अपने हाथ में लिया.
सबसे पहले 2021 के चुनाव में जो गलतियां हुईं थीं, उनको ठीक किया, ममता पर व्यक्तिगत हमले बंद किए, बीजेपी ने इस बार बंगाल में चुनाव स्थानीय परिवेश में लड़ा. मुद्दे स्थानीय थे, प्रतीक स्थानीय थे, देवी-देवता स्थानीय थे, खाना-पीना, संस्कृति सब स्थानीय.
स्थानीय प्रतीकों जैसे झालमूड़ी, काली बाड़ी पर मोदी ने भी फोकस किया. बीजेपी के नेता मछली लेकर चुनाव प्रचार करते दिखे. बीजेपी ने छोटे-छोटे काम किए जिनका असर बड़ा हुआ, जैसे 80 हजार फुटबॉल बांटे, 5000 क्रिकेट बैट बांटे. 220 विधायकों के खिलाफ स्थानीय स्तर पर चार्जशीट बांटे गय़े. 100 किलोमीटर की परिवर्तन यात्रा निकाली. मछली और झालमुड़ी से बंगालियों के दिलों को छुआ.
सबसे बड़ी बात, लोगों के दिलो दिमाग से ममता बनर्जी और तृणमूल कांग्रेस का भय खत्म किया. इसीलिए 93 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ. पश्चिम बंगाल के नतीजे का मतलब है कि ममता बनर्जी का वोटर बेस कमजोर हुआ है.
नौजवान और महिला वोटर पूरी तरह बीजेपी के साथ जुड़े, जो भद्रलोक डर के मारे घर से नहीं निकलते थे, वे भी वोट देने आए.
ममता बदला चाहतीं थीं, मोदी बदलाव चाहते थे. मोदी ने हिंदू वोटों को लामबंद किया, ममता का मुस्लिम वोटर बैंक भी बिखर गया. इसीलिए बीजेपी को इतनी जबरदस्त जीत मिली.
बंगाल के चुनाव नतीजों का असर देश की सियासत पर भी होगा. अब मोदी को चुनौती देने वाला विपक्ष के पास कोई नेता नहीं है. ममता दावा करती थीं कि अकेली वही हैं जो मोदी से टकरा सकती हैं, मोदी को हरा सकती हैं, लेकिन बंगाल की जनता ने जवाब दे दिया.
मोदी को चुनौती देने वाले दूसरे नेता थे, तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री एम. के. स्टालिन. आज तमिलनाडु की जनता ने स्टालिन को भी घर भेज दिया.

तमिलनाडु

जोसेफ विजय चंद्रशेखर को लोग सुपरस्टार विजय के नाम से जानते हैं. अब वो चीफ मिनिस्टर विजय के रूप में जाने जाएंगे.
विजय ने एक्टिंग के लिए पढ़ाई छोड़ दी थी. अब राजनीति के लिए उन्होंने एक्टिंग छोड़ दी.
विजय को फॉर्मूला फिल्मों ने मास हीरो बनाया लेकिन उन्होंने राजनीति का सेट फॉर्मूला छोड़ा तो जनता ने उन्हें Chief Minister बना दिया.
विजय देश के highest paid actors में एक हैं लेकिन उन्होंने 2024 में ऐलान कर दिया कि “थलपति 69″ उनकी आखिरी फिल्म होगी. बाद में “जन नायगन” फिल्म बनाई, लेकिन चुनाव आने के कारण ये फिल्म रिलीज नहीं हो सकी.
विजय ने ये दिया कि उन्हें पैसे से प्यार नहीं है, तमिलनाडु की जनता से प्यार है.
विजय की पार्टी की कोई विचारधारा नहीं है, न ही संगठन है लेकिन उनके पास फैन्स क्लब का अच्छा नेटवर्क है जिसके बल पर चुनाव लड़ा.
जहां स्टालिन और उनके बेटे सत्ता के अहंकार में जनता की पहुंच से दूर हो गए थे, विजय ने खुद को आम इंसान की तरफ पेश किया, लोगों के बीच गए, उन्हें समझाया कि वह उनके भाई हैं.
विजय पहली बार मैदान में उतरे और साठ के दशक से चले आ रहे DMK और AIADMK के वर्चस्व को एक झटके में खत्म कर दिया.
जो काम राष्ट्रीय पार्टियां 60 साल में नहीं कर पाईं, वह काम विजय ने सिर्फ दो साल में कर दिखाया. ये किसी चमत्कार से कम नहीं है.

असम

असम में भाजपा को हैट्रिक जीक दिलाने वाले मुख्यमंत्री हिमंता बिस्व सरमा को राहुल गांधी बेहद नापसंद करते हैं. उनको हराने के लिए कांग्रेस ने बड़ी भारी रणनीति बनाई थी.
कांग्रेस के नेताओं ने हिमंता पर बेसिरपैर के इल्जाम लगाए, व्क्तिगत स्तर पर हमला किया. लेकिन हिमंता राहुल गांधी और कांग्रेस को अच्छी तरह जानते हैं. उन्होंने बिना घबराए आजकल के T-20 सलामी बैट्समैन की तरह जबरदस्त बैटिंग की. शुरुआती दौर में इतने छक्के मारे कि कांग्रेस का सारा प्लान फेल हो गया.
हिमंता ने कांग्रेस के हिंदू नेताओं को बीजेपी में आने का निमंत्रण दिया. कांग्रेस को मुसलमानों की पार्टी करार दे दिया. हिमंता ने “मियां” मुसलमानों को टारगेट किया. लाइन क्लीयर थी, नैरैटिव साफ था, कांग्रेस पूरी तरह ट्रैप में फंस गई.
और नतीजा ये हुआ कि गौरव गोगोई चुनाव हार गए और कांग्रेस सिर्फ उन इलाकों में जीती, जहां मुस्लिम वोट ज्यादा थे.
हिमंता बिस्व सरमा की जीत राहुल गांधी को काफी परेशान करेगी.

The spectacular victories of BJP in West Bengal and Assam assembly elections have surprised many. The huge voter turnout in Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Kerala was surprising and now, the results have stunned all.

The dramatic spread of BJP across India in the last 12 years has surprised most of the people. In 2014, when Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, BJP-led NDA was ruling seven states, Congress and its allies were ruling 14 states, and seven states were being ruled by regional parties. BJP had no governments in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Maharashtra and its presence in the northeast was minimal.

Four years later, in 2018, BJP spread its wings. BJP and its allies were ruling UP, Maharashtra and Jammu and Kashmir, and several north-eastern states including Assam.

Today, BJP and its allies are in power in 22 states, while Congress and its allies are ruling only six states. BJP, on its own, is now ruling 14 states while it is in power in eight states with its allies.

The Congress moved in the opposite direction. In 2014, Congress and its allies were ruling 14 states with a population of 44.5 crores. This has now shrinked to only six states having a population of only 20.6 crore.

The credit for BJP’s spectacular rise in pan-Indian politics goes to Narendra Modi. In the last 12 years, he taught his party leaders how to contest and win elections. In states, where the party came to power, he taught how to repeat their victories by overcoming anti-incumbency.

It is a matter of pride for the BJP that NDA governments are now in 21 states of India, spreading from Gangotri in Uttarakhand to Gangasagar, where Ganga falls into the Bay of Bengal.

The yearning for victories continues. Already, BJP has started electoral preparations for Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. Again, the credit for this goes to Narendra Modi and his untiring efforts.

Historic results

The results of May 4 are historic in three aspects.

First, for the first time in 70 years, there is no Communist government in any Indian state. The first Communist government was formed in Kerala by E.M.S.Namboodiripad in 1957.
Second, for the first time in 60 years there will be no Dravidian government in Tamil Nadu because of the spectacular win by superstar Joseph Vijay’s party TVK. The first DMK government was formed in 1967 by C.N.Annadurai, the founder of DMK.

Third, for the first time in the history of West Bengal, BJP is going to form its government by winning 207 seats in a House of 294. Mamata Banerjee’s 15-year-old rule has come to an end.

BENGAL

I still remember those days in 1993, when Mamata Banerjee was dragged by her hair on the stairs of Writers’ Building in Kolkata. At that time, she had vowed to return to the building only after becoming the CM. She fulfilled her vow in 2011, when she ended CPI(M)’s 34-year-long rule.

Mamata Banerjee is a fighter. It was not easy for Modi and Amit Shah to defeat her party. Careful micro-management and booth-level ‘engineering’ was personally done by Amit Shah, who stayed put in Bengal for more than two weeks.

Past mistakes by the party were corrected, a brake was put on personal attacks against Mamata. The election was fought on local issues, the icons were local, the gods were local, the food style and culture were all local. Modi focused on visiting Kalibaris and ate ‘jhalmuri’ in public. BJP leaders were seen holding fish during their campaign.

BJP workers did small things which had a larger effect. They distributed 80,000 footballs and 5,000 cricket bats to sports crazy Bengali youths. Chargesheets were prepared against 220 TMC legislators. A 100-km long poriborton padyatra was carried out.

The fear prevailing in the minds of Bengalis towards Mamata and TMC was ultimately broken. This resulted in a 93 per cent voter turnout.

The results clearly show that Mamata’s voter base has shrunk to a large extent. Women and youths joined BJP ranks. The middle-class Bengali ‘bhadralok’ came in large numbers to polling stations to vote.
Mamata wanted ‘badla'(revenge), and Modi gave the slogan ‘badlav’ (change). Modi consolidated Hindu votes and Mamata’s Muslim vote bank broke into several parts. These were the main reasons behind BJP’s spectacular landslide win.

The Bengal results will also have consequences on national politics. There is no popular leader left in the opposition, who can give Modi a strong challenge.

Mamata used to claim that only she could give Modi a strong challenge and defeat BJP. The people of Bengal have given their answer. The other regional leader who could have challenged Modi was DMK supremo M. K. Stalin. The people of Tamil Nadu also sent Stalin packing.

TAMIL NADU

Actor Joseph Vijay Chandrashekhar is known popularly in Tamil Nadu as superstar Vijay. He will now be known as Chief Minister Vijay. This actor left education for pursuing his interest in acting. Now he has left acting in pursuing his interest in politics.

Formula films made Vijay a hero of the masses. He discarded the set formula of politics and people have now made him the chief minister. Vijay is one of the highest paid film actors, but in 2024 he announced that ‘Thalapathy 69′ will be his last movie. Now he has come with a new movie ‘Jana Nayagan’, the release of which was halted during elections.

Vijay succeeded in giving the message to people that he is not in love with money, he loves the people of Tamil Nadu. His party TVK has no clear ideology, nor is there any well-oiled organisation. But he has his good network of fan clubs, which helped him in this election.

On the other hand, Stalin and his son Udhayanidhi, had cut themselves off from the masses because of their oversized egos. Vijay presented himself as a man from the masses. He went to the people and explained to them that he would work like their brother.

In a single stroke, Vijay demolished the domination of DMK and AIADMK. What the national parties could not do in TN in the last six decades was done by a popular film actor in two years. This is nothing short of a miracle.

ASSAM

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, a good administrator and a popular orator even in Hindi-speaking states, is intensely disliked by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The Congress had prepared a comprehensive strategy to stop him from scoring a hattrick of wins. Baseless allegations were levelled against him and his family. He was made the target of personal attacks.

But Himanta, a former Congress leader, knows how Rahul Gandhi and his party workers think and work. Like the T20 openers of today, Himanta hit a flurry of sixes soon as he started batting. All the plans of Congress were foiled.

Himanta gave an open invitation to Hindu leaders from Congress in Assam to join him. He declared Congress as a party of Muslims. Himanta targeted ‘miya’ (Muslims) in his campaign.

The line was clear, the narrative was clear, and Congress fell in his trap. The result: Gaurav Gogoi, Rahul’s loyalist, lost the election. Congress won only from those constituencies where Muslims dominated.
Himanta Biswa Sarma’s victory will surely worry Rahul in the days to come.

ईरान अमेरिका की जंग का असर अब हमारी आपकी जेब पर भी पड़ने लगा है. प्रीमियम पेट्रोल का भाव दो रूपए प्रति लीटर बढ़ गया, इंडस्ट्रियल डीज़ल का भाव 22 रूपए प्रति लीटर बढ़ गया.
सरकार ने माना कि मध्यपूर्व में जंग के कारण कच्चा तेल और प्राकृतिक गैस की सप्लाई पर संकट है, हमारे देश में पर्याप्त स्टॉक है लेकिन स्थिति गंभीर हैं. ऐसे हालात कब तक बने रहेंगे, ये किसी को नहीं मालूम.
इज़राइल के पीएम बेंजामिन नेतान्याहू ने अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप की बात मान ली है और ये कह दिया है कि अब इजराइल ईरान के गैस और तेल ठिकानों पर बमबारी नहीं करेगा लेकिन खाड़ी के देशों सऊदी अरब, अमीरात और कुवैत की रिफायनरी पर ईरान के हमले जारी हैं. इन हमलों से जो नुकसान हुआ है, उसे दुरुस्त करने में कम से कम आठ महीने लगेंगे , इसीलिए तेल और गैस के दामों में आग लगी है.
ईरान को अब ये समझ आ गया कि गैस और तेल अमेरिका की कमजोर नस है. खाड़ी के देशों को तेल और गैस ठिकानों पर हुए हमलों से सबसे ज्यादा चोट पहुंची है.
ईरान ने पिछले तीन हफ्तों में एक दर्जन से ज्यादा जहाजों पर हमले किए हैं. स्ट्रेट ऑफ होर्मूज़ का इलाका ट्रंप के गले की हड्डी बन गया है.
पूरी दुनिया से अकेले लड़ने की ताकत रखने वाले डॉनल्ड ट्रंप को स्ट्रेट ऑफ होर्मूज़ के संकट ने दूसरे देशों से मदद मांगने के लिए मजबूर कर दिया.
ट्रंप ने स्ट्रेट ऑफ होर्मूज़ के खतरे को आंकने में गलती की और उसका खामियाज़ा दुनिया को भुगतना पड़ रहा है.
इस बात में कोई शक नहीं कि अमेरिका के पास दुनिया की सबसे ताकतवर थल सेना, नौसेना और वायु सेना है. इज़राइल की लड़ने की क्षमता का पूरी दुनिया लोहा मानती है. इसीलिए दुनिया इस बात पर हैरान है कि ईरान अभी तक मिसाइल और ड्रोन से पूरे मध्य पूर्व पर कैसे हमले कर रहा है ?
ट्रंप बार बार दावा कर रहे हैं कि ईरान की नौसेना और वायु सेना को तबाह कर दिया है, ईरान के आसमान में अमेरिकी वायु सेना कभी भी आ जा सकती है तो फिर ईरान ने अमेरिका के F-35 जैसे अत्याधुनिक विमान को कैसे मार गिराया? ये वो फाइटर विमान हैं, जो किसी भी रेडार की पहुंच से बाहर रहने की क्षमता रखते हैं.
दूसरी बात ये कि अमेरिका इस जंग पर अरबों डालर खर्च कर रहा है और इस बात की कोई गारंटी नहीं है कि ईरान इस जंग को जल्दी खत्म होने देगा.
शुक्रवार को जब अमेरिका ने खाड़ी के देशों को एयर डिफेंस सिस्टम और मिसाइल बेचने की डील की, तो लोगों ने कहा कि अमेरिका अपने हथियार बेचने के लिए इस लड़ाई को लंबा खींच रहा है.
ऐसी बातों के कोई सबूत तो नहीं होते लेकिन पूरी दुनिया में ये इम्प्रेशन जरूर बना है कि ट्रंप ने ईरान की ये जंग पूरी दुनिया पर थोप दी और उन्होंने ऐसा क्यों किया इसका कोई ठोस औचित्य अभी तक नहीं मिल पाया है.

The effects of Gulf war are now being felt in India with the government raising the prices of premium petrol and industrial diesel.
The Centre on Friday said, supplies of crude and natural gas to India have been affected because of the war and though there are adequate stocks, the situation is becoming serious. Nobody knows when this war will end and shipping through the Persian Gulf will return to normal.
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted US President Donald Trump’s advice not to attack Iran’s oil and gas installations, but Iran continues to rain missiles and drones on oil refineries in Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait. It may take nearly 8 months to repair the damages caused by Iran’s attacks.
Iran has realized that oil and gas are the weakest nerves of the US and it is, therefore, targeting gas and oil installations of Arab Gulf countries.
In the last three weeks, Iran has attacked more than a dozen ships in the Strait of Hormuz, which has become Trump’s headache.
The situation has come to such a pass that the US President had to appeal for help for Europe, Japan, South Korea and other countries to police the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump miscalculated the dangers in Strait of Hormuz when he attacked Iran and the world is now facing its consequences.
The United States has the most powerful army, air force and navy. The world acknowledges the fighting capacity of Israel. Yet, people are surprised how Iran is raining missiles and drones on Middle East countries?
Trump has been repeatedly claiming that Iran’s navy and air force have been destroyed and US planes can enter Iran’s air space without any hindrance. Then, how did Iran hit America’s most sophisticated F-35 Raptor stealth jet fighter which has the capability to evade radars?
On Friday, when the US begun finalizing emergency deals for selling air defence systems and missiles to Gulf countries, people started saying, the US is deliberately trying to prolong this war.
Of course, there are no proofs to substantiate this, but the impression has gone around the world that Trump imposed this war on the world and there are no solid justifications behind it.

As the Gulf war entered its third week, Israeli planes bombarded Tehran on Friday, while Iran attacked UAE and Kuwait with missiles and drones. The war has now entered a dangerous phase, with both sides targeting oil and gas installations.
On Friday, addressing a press conference, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “you can’t do revolutions from the air…there has to be a ground component as well.. You don’t want to replace one ayatollah with another.”
In other words, he is hinting at the need for US and Israeli forces to put their boots on Iranian soil.
But US President Donald Trump says, he has no such plans. “I’m not putting troops anywhere”, he told a reporter, “If I were, I certainly won’t tell you.” Trump said, the Pentagon has asked Congress to approve a further $200 billion to fund the war.
On Wednesday night, Iran attacked Qatar’s largest natural gas production plant in Ras Laffan with missiles, sending the world into a tizzy.
Qatar is one of the top exporters of LNG and its largest LNG plant is in Ras Laffan. The Iranian attack came after Israel bombed Iran’s largest gas field South Pars, where gas production and supplies have come to a standstill.
Qatar provides 20 per cent of Europe’s gas supplies, while India, China, South Korea, Japan, Italy and Singapore are the top importers of LNG from Qatar.
Iran also targeted oil and gas installations in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. There was mayhem in most of the stock exchanges across the world on Thursday, with BSE Sensex recording the highest decline by nearly 2,500 points in 22 months.
India imports 55 pc of its LNG requirements from abroad, out of which 47 pc comes from Qatar alone. Clouds of recession are now hanging on European countries, while experts fear a brake to economic growth in Asia and Africa.
Iran also attacked Samref oil refinery near Yanbu port on Red Sea in Saudi Arabia. This refinery is vital because much of Saudi oil is being diverted from Strait of Hormuz to Red Sea near this port for export. The Samref oil refinery is run by Saudi oil company Aramco and America’s ExxonMobil. Saudi Arabia has closed production at this refinery after Iranian attack.
Iran also attacked two refineries in Kuwait. Mina Al Ahmadi oil refinery was attacked with an Iranian ballistic missile. This refinery is considered one of the biggest oil refineries in the Middle East. Mina Abdullah oil refinery in Kuwait was also attacked with a drone. After these attacks, Kuwait has stopped production in both these refineries.
The question now is: why does Iran want to prolong the war? Its military and political leadership is almost decimated, and its navy, air force and intelligence system have been smashed. Yet, Iran continues to attack Gulf countries and Israel with missiles and drones.
The probable answer: Iran has nothing more to lose now. It had prepared for a long war for the last several years, it decentralized its IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) and these elements are now carrying out missile and drone attacks on Middle East countries.
Now, Gulf countries are putting pressure on the US to put a halt to missile attacks. America wants a ceasefire, but Iran is not willing. Iran wants a permanent solution.
The present Iranian leadership knows, if it agrees to a ceasefire, its enemies will try to regroup again, repair their radars and other air defence systems, and launch fresh attacks on Iran.
Iran wants a solution so that the US and Israel may never attack again. Iran is also trying to revive its economy in the process. It does not want a pre-war status quo for the Strait of Hormuz. It wants a protocol to levy toll charges on every ship passing through the strait.
In a nutshell, Iran is trying to take advantage of the confusion prevailing between the US and Israel. It is therefore ramping up missile and drone attacks on Gulf countries.
Iran did not change its position all of a sudden. It had been preparing since the beginning of Ramadan month and had prepared plans to attack Arab Gulf countries.
The Israeli attack on Iran’s biggest gas field provided the trigger for Iran to launch counter attacks on oil and gas installations in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Iran chose to strike at Qatar’s biggest natural gas hub. It wanted to hit the hardest at this hub, so that the rest of the world can feel the repercussions.
The question also arises: Who is responsible for this crisis?
Iran claims, it is the US that put the world in jeopardy and Donald Trump will have to bear the consequences. On Wednesday, Trump pointed fingers at Israel saying that Israeli attack on Iranian gas field was done without his knowledge.
Trump’s stand is surprising because a day earlier, when Israel attacked South Pars gas field, Trump remained silent. But when Iran carried out reprisal attacks on Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and UAE, Trump realized the enormity of this attack and he pointed fingers at Israel.
Trump wrote this on social media, but soon afterwards, Israel and US media nailed his lie. Both said, the attack on Iran’s gas field was done with Trump’s knowledge and Netanyahu had spoken to the US President before the air strike was carried out.
This finger pointing clearly shows there is a trust deficit between the two, and one of these two is misleading the world. Gulf countries had been saying from Day One that Trump attacked Iran at Israel’s instance, but now both are trying to hoodwink the other.
Gulf countries had been dependent on the US for their security since ages, but Iran’s attacks have proved that the US cannot provide blanket security to these countries.
Iran has meanwhile made the Strait of Hormuz its bargaining tool, but European countries are unwilling to help Trump in removing the Iranian blockade of the Strait.
This is one more crack in Trump’s path. All these developments clearly underline the fact that merely threatening Iran will not do. A way must be found out to bring Iran to the negotiating table after declaring a ceasefire.
The flames of fire have already started reaching those countries who have nothing to do with this war.

जंग के तीसरे हफ्ते में प्रवेश करते ही शुक्रवार को इज़राइल ने तेहरान पर फिर बमबारी की, जबकि ईरान ने अमीरात और कुवैत पर मिसाइल और ड्रोन से हमले किये. जंग अब खतरनाक मोड़ पर पहुंच चुकी है.
पूरी दुनिया को मुसीबत में डालने वाली खबर एक दिन पहले आई. ईरान ने क़तर के सबसे बड़े नेचुरल गैस प्रोडक्शन प्लांट को तबाह कर दिया.
क़तर से ही यूरोपीय देशों को बीस प्रतिशत गैस की सप्लाई होती है. चीन, दक्षिण कोरिया, जापान, इटली और सिंगापुर भी क़तर की गैस के बड़े ख़रीदार हैं.
ईरान ने क़तर के साथ साथ सऊदी अरब और कुवैत के गैस और तेल ठिकानों को निशाना बनाया. इसके कारण पूरी दुनिया में कच्चा तेल और प्राकृतिक गैस की सप्लाई प्रभावित हुई है.
दुनिया भर के शेयर बाज़ार गिर गए. बॉम्बे स्टॉक एक्सेंज करीब ढाई हजार अंक गिरा. ये पिछले दो साल में सबसे बड़ी गिरावट थी. सोने और चांदी के दामों में भारी गिरावट आई. पूरी दुनिया में मंदी का संकट गहराने लगा.
ईरान के इन हमलों से पूरी दुनिया हिल गई. दरअसल एक दिन पहले इज़राइल ने ईरान में दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी गैस फील्ड साउथ पार्स पर अटैक किया था जिससे वहां गैस का उत्पादन और सप्लाई बंद हो गई. इसके जवाब में ईरान ने क़तर के सबसे बड़े गैस प्लांट पर हमला कर दिया.
साउथ पार्स की गैस फील्ड का कुछ हिस्सा ईरान में है और कुछ क़तर में. जो हिस्सा ईरान में है, उसे साउथ पार्स कहा जाता है. इसी गैस फील्ड का जो हिस्सा क़तर में है, उसे नॉर्थ डोम कहते हैं.
नॉर्थ डोम से जुड़ा हुआ कतर का सबसे बड़ा गैस प्लांट है, रास लफ्फन. इसी प्लांट पर बुधवार को देर रात ईरान ने एक के बाद एक कई मिसाइलें दाग़ीं जिससे गैस प्लांट में भयंकर आग लग गई.
क़तर, दुनिया के सबसे बड़े LNG निर्यातकों में से एक है और रास लफ्फन उसका ही नहीं, पूरी दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा LNG प्लांट है.
ईरान के इस हमले का असर भारत पर भी होगा क्योंकि भारत अपनी जरूरत का कुल 55 प्रतिशत LNG आयात करता है. इसमें से 47 प्रतिशत LNG अकेले कतर से आती है. यूरोपीय देशों को 20 प्रतिशत LNG सप्लाई क़तर से होती है. चीन, साउथ कोरिया, जापान, इटली और सिंगापुर भी क़तर की गैस के बड़े ख़रीदार हैं.
जैसे ही ईरान के हमले के बाद क़तर ने रास लफ्फन गैस प्लांट को बंद करने का एलान किया, पूरी दुनिया में कोहराम मच गया. यूरोपीय देशों में मंदी आने का ख़तरा जताया जाने लगा, एशिया और अफ्रीका के आर्थिक विकास पर ब्रेक लगने की आशंका जताई जाने लगी.
इज़राइल ने ईरान में दुनिया के सबसे बड़े गैस फील्ड साउथ पार्स पर हमला किया, तो जवाब में ईरान ने क़तर, कुवैत, UAE, सऊदी अरब, जॉर्डन, बहरीन, ओमान, इराक़ और इज़राइल पर मिसाइलों और ड्रोन्स से हमले किए.
सऊदी अरब की राजधानी रियाद में ईरान ने एक बड़े ऑयल डंप पर मिसाइल्स फायर कीं. इस ऑयल डंप को सऊदी अरब की अरामको कंपनी चलाती है. यहां से अमेरिकी फाइटर जेट विमानों को ईंधन की सप्लाई होती है. इसीलिए, ईरान ने इस ऑयल डंप को टारगेट किया.
लेकिन ईरान ने सऊदी अरब पर सबसे बड़ा हमला लाल सागर के यानबू पोर्ट के पास समरेफ तेल रिफाइनरी पर किया. ये रिफाइनरी इस वक्त इसलिए महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि यहां से तेल लेकर जाने वाले टैंकर्स को स्ट्रेट ऑफ़ होर्मुज़ से नहीं गुजरना पड़ता. ये टैंकर्स लाल सागर के रास्ते सऊदी अरब के तेल को दुनिया के दूसरे देशों में पहुंचाते हैं.
समरेफ तेल रिफाइनरी को सऊदी कंपनी अरामको और अमेरिका की ExxonMobil मिलकर चलाती हैं. इसीलिए ईरान ने यानबू पोर्ट पर हमला किया. हमले से रिफाइनरी में आग लग गई और सऊदी अरब ने रिफाइनरी को बंद करने का एलान कर दिया.
सऊदी अरब दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा तेल निर्यातक है. जंग की शुरुआत में ईरान ने सऊदी अरब के सबसे बड़े तेल फील्ड रास तनुरा पर हमला किया था जिसके बाद सऊदी अरब ने ईस्ट-वेस्ट पाइपलाइन से तेल का निर्यात बढ़ा दिया था ताकि स्ट्रेट ऑफ़ होर्मुज़ की ईरानी नाक़ेबंदी से बच कर तेल का निर्यात हो सके.
ईरान ने मध्यपूर्व के एक और बड़े तेल निर्यातक कुवैत की दो रिफाइनरियों पर मिसाइल और ड्रोन से हमले किए. अल अहमदी पोर्ट रिफाइनरी को बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल से निशाना बनाया गया. ये मध्यपूर्व की सबसे बड़ी रिफाइनरियों में से एक है.
अब्दुल्लाह पोर्ट के पास कुवैत की एक और रिफाइनरी पर ड्रोन से हमला हुआ. दो रिफाइनरियों पर हमलों के बाद कुवैत ने तेल का उत्पादन बंद कर दिया.
ईरान ने दुबई में अमीरात और अमेरिका के ज्वाइंट एयरबेस को काफी नुक़सान पहुंचाया. ईरान के इन हमलों के असर पूरी दुनिया पर होगा और लंबे वक्त तक रहेगा.
ईरान के इस रुख़ से अरब जगत में तहलका मचा हुआ है. अरब मुल्कों ने ईरान को ख़तरनाक अंजाम भुगतने के लिए तैयार रहने की चेतावनी दी है.
सवाल ये है कि इतनी तबाही के बावजूद ईरान इस जंग को और लंबा क्यों खींचना चाहता है?
ईरान का सैनिक और राजनीतिक नेतृत्व लगभग खत्म हो चुका है. नौसेना और वायु सेना के साथ साथ पूरा इंटेलीजेंस सिस्टम तबाह हो गया लेकिन ईरान ने मिसाइल और ड्रोन से हमले नहीं रोके.
उसकी वजह ये है कि अब ईरान के पास खोने के लिए कुछ नहीं बचा है. ईरान ने पहले से ही एक लंबी लड़ाई की तैयारी की हुई थी. उसने अपनी रेवोल्यूशनरी गार्ड कोर को विकेंद्रित किया और मध्यपूर्व के देशों पर हमले जारी रखे.
मध्यपूर्व के मुल्कों ने अमेरिका पर दबाव बनाया. अमेरिका अब युद्धविराम चाहता है लेकिन ईरान युद्धविराम नहीं, स्थायी समाधान चाहता है.
ईरान को लगता है कि अगर जंग रुकी तो उसके दुश्मनों को फिर से एकजुट होने का मौका मिलेगा, अपनी कमियों को दुरुस्त करने का मौका मिलेगा, जैसे, जो रेडार नष्ट हो गए हैं, उन्हें फिर से चालू करने का अवसर मिलेगा और वो फिर ईरान पर हमला करेंगे.
इसीलिए ईरान अब एक ऐसा समाधान चाहता है जिसमें अमेरिका और इजराइल फिर से इस तरह का हमला न करे.
ईरान इस संकट का इस्तेमाल अपनी आर्थिक स्थिति को सुधारने के लिए भी करना चाहता है, जैसे स्ट्रेट ऑफ होरमुज़ को ईरान अब युद्ध के पूर्व की स्थिति पर नहीं लाना चाहता. वह एक नयी संधि चाहता है जिसमें वो होरमूज़ से गुजरने वाले हर जहाज से टोल वसूल सके.
असल में ईरान चक्रव्यूह में फंसे अमेरिका की मजबूरी का पूरा-पूरा फायदा उठाने के चक्कर में है. इसीलिए वो खाड़ी के देशों पर लगातार मिसाइल और ड्रोन से हमले करके पूरा दबाव बनाये हुए है.
ईरान ने अपना रुख अचानक नहीं बदला. उसने पहले से ही रमज़ान के महीने में, अरब और इस्लामिक मुल्कों को निशाना बनाने की प्लानिंग की थी. इजराइल ने ईरान के तेल ठिकानों पर हमला करके उसे बहाना भी दे दिया.
कतर के जिस गैस प्लांट पर ईरान ने हमला किया, वो उसके गैस उत्पादन की धुरी है. इसीलिए ईरान की चोट वहां लगी जहां सबसे ज्यादा दर्द होता है.
ईरान के हमलों की वजह से कतर के गैस प्लांट को जो नुकसान हुआ है, उसकी मरम्मत करने में लंबा समय लगेगा और इस संकट का असर पूरी दुनिया पर दिखाई देगा.
अब सवाल है कि इस संकट के लिए कौन ज़िम्मेदार है? ईरान का दावा है कि अमेरिका ने पूरी दुनिया को मुसीबत में डाला, अब ट्रंप को इसका ख़ामियाज़ा भी भुगतना पड़ेगा. लेकिन ट्रंप ने बुधवार को कह दिया कि सारी मुसीबत की जड़ इज़राइल है, इजराइल ने उनसे बिना पूछे ईरान की गैस फील्ड को निशाना बनाया.
ट्रंप का रवैया हैरान करने वाला है क्योंकि एक दिन पहले जब इज़राइल ने ईरान के साउथ पार्स गैस फील्ड पर हमला किया तब ट्रंप चुप रहे.
लेकिन जब ईरान ने क़तर, सऊदी अरब, कुवैत और अमीरात पर जवाबी हमले किए तो ट्रंप को हालात की गंभीरता का अंदाजा हुआ और उन्होंने कह दिया कि इज़राइल ने बहुत गलत किया, अमेरिका को बिना बताए ईरान की गैस फील्ड पर हमला किया.
ट्रंप ने ईरान को धमकी दी और कहा कि अगर ईरान ने क़तर के गैस फील्ड्स पर फिर से हमला किया तो अमेरिका ईरान के तमाम तेल और गैस ठिकानों को नेस्तनाबूद कर देगा.
ट्रंप ने ये सारी बातें सोशल मीडिया पर लिखीं. इसके कुछ ही देर के बाद इज़राइल और अमेरिकी मीडिया ने दावा किया कि ट्रंप झूठ बोल रहे हैं, इजराइल ईरान की गैस पर फील्ड पर हमला करने वाला है, इसकी पूरी जानकारी ट्रंप को थी.
साउथ पार्स गैस फील्ड पर हमले से पहले इज़राइल के प्रधानमंत्री नेतन्याहू ने ट्रंप से बात की थी, उनको विश्वास में लेकर ही इज़राइल ने ईरान के गैस फील्ड पर हमले किए थे.
ट्रंप का ये कहना कि इजराइल ने उन्हें बताए बिना ईरान की गैस फील्ड पर हमला किया, ये दिखाता है कि अमेरिका और इजराइल के बीच एक दरार है, अविश्वास है.
दोनों में से एक दुनिया को गुमराह कर रहा है. मध्यपूर्व के देश तो पहले से ही कह रहे थे कि ट्रंप ने ईरान पर हमला इजराइल के कहने पर किया लेकिन अब ये दोनों आपस में एक दूसरे को चकमा देने में लगे हैं.
मध्यपूर्व के देश अपनी सुरक्षा के लिए हमेशा से अमेरिका पर निर्भर रहे है लेकिन ईरान के हमलों ने ये साबित कर दिया कि अमेरिका उनको शत प्रतिशत सुरक्षा कवच नहीं दे सकता.
ईरान ने स्ट्रेट ऑफ होर्मुज को एक बड़ा हथियार बनाया है लेकिन यूरोप के देश होर्मुज में नाकेबंदी को हटवाने के लिए ट्रंप का साथ देने को तैयार नहीं हैं.
ये एक और दरार है जो ट्रंप के रास्ते में खड़ी है. ये सारी बातें इस बात की तरफ इशारा करती हैं कि ईरान को अब धमकियां देने से काम नहीं चलेगा. अब किसी भी तरह युद्धविराम करके ईरान को बातचीत की मेज पर लाने से ही रास्ता निकलेगा.
इस युद्ध की आग अब उन देशों को भी जलाने लगी है जिनका इस लड़ाई से कोई लेना-देना नहीं है.

The Congress in Assam got two big jolts on Wednesday when party MP from Nagaon, Pradyut Bordoloi resigned and joined BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The next day, Bordoloi’s son Prateek, wrote a letter to Congress President withdrawing his candidature from Margherita constituency.
Former Assam Congress vice-president Dibyajyoti Talukdar also resigned from the party and he is expected to join the BJP soon.
The BJP high command on Thursday released its list of 88 candidates for Assam. Pradyut Bordoloi has been fielded from Dispur, while the CM will contest from Jalukbari. Bhupen Kumar Borah, former Assam Congress president, who joined BJP last month, has also been given the party ticket.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “wait and see, there will soon be no Hindu leader left in Assam Congress, because they are fed up of the party’s ‘appeasement’ policy, they are worried because of the effects of such a policy on Assam’s demography.”
This time, BJP will contest 89 out of a total of 126 assembly seats, while 37 seats have been left to allies. Asom Gana Parishad got 26 and Bodoland People’s Front got 11 seats in the deal.
The Assam CM reached Delhi on Tuesday to ensure Bordoloi’s induction into BJP. He had a talk with him on Tuesday night, and on Wednesday, Bordoloi met the state BJP chief Dilip Saikia. The CM took him to meet Amit Shah in Parliament.
After joining BJP, Pradyut Bordoloi said, “I am a veteran Congressman, Congress is in my DNA, I stood with Congress during its darkest hour, but of late I was being sidelined, I was insulted and my suggestions on ticket distribution were not heard.”
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra heads the Congress screening committee for Assam. The committee also includes the firebrand MP from Saharanpur, Imran Masood.
When Bordoloi named Imran Masood, the latter hit back saying, “Bordoloi must not forget that he was elected MP from Nagaon, which has more than 65 pc Muslim voters who voted against BJP”.
Bordoloi responded saying, “Imran Masood has a communal outlook, he has a poisonous mind, he insults Vande Mataram, and is supporting those with criminal background in the screening committee meetings.” Bordoloi also said, the party high command, despite knowing facts, is trying to show ignorance.
The Congress leadership tried hard to hold back Bordoloi from leaving the party. Congress in-charge Bhanwar Jitendra Singh and Gaurav Gogoi met him and persuaded him not to leave. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, Pradyut’s unhappiness is saddening, but this was related only to one ticket and the matter could have been discussed.
When Bordoloi joined BJP, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, “after all, there is something called ideology”.
Assam CM HImanta Biswa Sarma said, Congress may make whatever claims it wants, the fact is Congress has lost its base in Assam. He claimed, the few good leaders that are left in that party, also want to join BJP.
The entry of Pradyut Bordoloi and Bhupen Borah in BJP, is a big success for Himanta Biswa Sarma. Bordoloi won the Lok Sabha election from a constituency which has 65 pc Muslim voters. He won assembly elections four times, and was elected to Lok Sabha twice on Congress ticket.
Naturally, Congress has got a big jolt. Two months ago, the Assam CM had said, “there will be no Hindu leader left in Assam Congress”. The whole world knew what was going to happen, but the Congress leadership did not know what was going on behind the scenes.
Whenever elections take place, Congress leaders desert their party. The party then alleges that BJP is indulging in horsetrading. Congress leaders then claim, such an exit will have no effect on the party’s fortunes. But when election results are out, it becomes clear how the leadership failed.

असम में कांग्रेस को दो बड़े झटके लगे. नगांव से कांग्रेस के सांसद प्रद्युत बोरदोलोई ने पार्टी से इस्तीफा दे दिया और वह बीजेपी में शामिल हो गए. उनके बेटे प्रतीक बोरदोलोई ने कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष को पत्र लिख कर विधानसभा की उम्मीदवारी से हटने का ऐलान कर दिया.
प्रदेश कांग्रेस के उपाध्यक्ष नवज्योति तालुकदार ने भी पार्टी छोड़ने की घोषणा कर दी. वह भी बीजेपी में शामिल होने वाले हैं.
गुरुवार को बीजेपी ने असम में अपने 88 उम्मीदवारों की सूची जारी कर दी. प्रद्युत बोरदोलोई दिसपुर से और मुख्यमंत्री हिमंत विश्व शर्मा जलुकबाड़ी से चुनाव लड़ेंगे.
पूर्व असम प्रदेश कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष भूपेन कुमार बोरा पिछले महीने बीजेपी में शामिल हुए थे, उन्हें भी टिकट दिया गया है.
मुख्यमंत्री हिमंत विश्व शर्मा ने कहा, “देखते जाइए, कांग्रेस में अब कोई बड़ा हिन्दू नेता नहीं बचेगा क्योंकि सारे नेता कांग्रेस की तुष्टीकरण नीति से परेशान हैं, असम की डैमोग्राफी पर पड़ रहे असर से टेंशन में हैं.”
इस बार असम में बीजेपी कुल 126 में से 89 सीटों पर चुनाव लड़ेगी, बाकी 37 सीटें सहयोगी दलों के लिए छोड़ी गई है. इनमें से 26 सीटें असम गण परिषद के लिए और 11 सीटें बोडोलैंड पीपुल्स फ्रंट को दी गई है.
बोरदोलोई को बीजेपी में शामिल कराने के लिए मुख्यमंत्री हिमंत विश्व शर्मा मंगलवार को ही दिल्ली पहुंच गए थे. उसी रात प्रद्युत बोरदोलोई से उनकी बात हो गई, अगले दिन प्रद्युत फिर से हिमंत विश्व शर्मा और असम बीजेपी अध्यक्ष दिलीप सैकिया से मिले और बीजेपी में शामिल हो गए.
इसके बाद हिमंत विश्व शर्मा ने प्रद्युत की मुलाकात गृह मंत्री अमित शाह से करवाई.
बीजेपी में शामिल होने के बाद प्रद्युत बोरदोलोई ने कहा, वह पुराने कांग्रेसी है, कांग्रेस उनके डीएनए में है, लेकिन पिछले कुछ सालों में उन्हें पार्टी ने हाशिये पर डाल दिया, बार-बार उनका अपमान किया गया, विधानसभा टिकटों के बंटवारे में उनकी बातें नहीं सुनी गई.
असम में टिकटों के बंटवारे को लेकर कांग्रेस ने प्रियंका गांधी की अध्यक्षता में स्क्रीनिंग कमेटी बनाई है. इस कमेटी में सहारनपुर से सांसद इमरान मसूद भी हैं.
जब प्रद्युत बोरदोलोई ने नाम लेकर इमरान मसूद पर वार किया, तो इमरान मसूद ने कहा कि प्रद्युत को ये नहीं भूलना चाहिए कि वह मुसलमानों के वोट से सांसद बने हैं, नगांव में 65 प्रतिशत मुसलमान है, जिनमें से अधिकतर ने पिछले लोकसभा चुनाव में बीजेपी के खिलाफ वोट दिया.
जवाब में प्रद्युत बोरदोलोई ने कहा, “इमरान मसूद फिरकापरस्त हैं, उनके दिमाग में नफरत का ज़हर भरा है, वह वंदेमातरम का अपमान करते हैं, स्क्रीनिंग कमेटी में आपराधिक छवि वाले लोगों का समर्थन करते हैं लेकिन कांग्रेस आला कमान सब कुछ जानकर भी अनजान बना हुआ है.”
कांग्रेस ने प्रद्युत बोरदोलोई को रोकने और मनाने की भरसक कोशिश की. कांग्रेस प्रभारी भंवर जितेंद्र सिंह और गौरव गोगोई प्रद्युत बोरदोलोई से मिले. प्रियंका गांधी ने कहा कि प्रद्युत की नाराजगी दुखद है, सिर्फ एक टिकट का मसला है, इस मुद्दे पर बात हो सकती थी.
लेकिन जब प्रद्युत नहीं माने और बीजेपी में शामिल हो गए, तो प्रियंका गांधी वाड्रा ने कहा, “आखिर विचारधारा भी कोई चीज़ होती है.”
मुख्यमंत्री हिमंत विश्व शर्मा ने कहा कि कांग्रेस के नेता चाहे कुछ भी दावा करें, लेकिन असम में कांग्रेस की ताकत खत्म हो चुकी है, जो थोड़े बहुत अच्छे नेता बचे हैं, वे भी बीजेपी से जुड़ना चाहते हैं.
भूपेन बोरा के बाद प्रद्युत बोरदोलोई का बीजेपी में जाना हिमंत विश्व शर्मा के लिए बड़ी कामयाबी है. प्रद्युत बोरदोलोई 65 प्रतिशत मुस्लिम आबादी वाली सीट से चुनाव जीते थे. वह लगातार चार बार विधानसभा चुनाव जीत चुके हैं, दो बार कांग्रेस के टिकट पर लोकसभा चुनाव जीत चुके हैं. इसलिए कांग्रेस को झटका तो लगेगा.
हिमंत विश्व शर्मा ने दो महीने पहले कहा था कि कांग्रेस में कोई बड़ा हिन्दू नेता नहीं बचेगा. सारी दुनिया को पता था कि क्या होने वाला है. बस कांग्रेस के नेतृत्व को ही नहीं पता चला कि अंदर ही अंदर क्या हो रहा है.
जब भी चुनाव आते हैं, कांग्रेस के नेता पार्टी छोड़कर भागते हैं और कांग्रेस बीजेपी पर खरीद-फरोख्त का इल्जाम लगाकर चुप हो जाती है और फिर ये कहकर बात को टालने की कोशिश करती है कि एक-दो नेताओं के जाने से कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता.
लेकिन जब चुनाव के नतीजे आते हैं तो साफ दिखाई देता है कि कितना फर्क पड़ा और नेतृत्व कैसे फेल हुआ.

चुनाव की तारीखों का ऐलान होते ही पश्चिम बंगाल में बीजेपी ने 144 उम्मीदवारों की पहली लिस्ट जारी कर दी. विपक्ष के नेता शुभेंदु अधिकारी कोलकाता के भवानीपुर में मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी के खिलाफ चुनाव लड़ेंगे.
पिछले चुनाव में शुभेंदु अधिकारी ने नंदीग्राम से ममता बनर्जी को हराया था. इसके बाद ममता बनर्जी उपचुनाव में भवानीपुर से जीत कर विधानसभा पहुंची. लेकिन इस बार शुभेंदु अधिकारी नंदीग्राम और भवानीपुर दोनों सीटों से चुनाव लड़ेंगे यानि ममता अगर इन दोनों में से किसी भी सीट से लड़ती है तो शुभेंदु अधिकारी से ही मुकाबला होगा.
बीजेपी ने अपने तेज़तर्रार नेता दिलीप घोष को खड़गपुर सदर से मैदान में उतारा है जबकि अग्निमित्रा पॉल को आसनसोल दक्षिण से टिकट दिया गया है.
पश्चिम बंगाल में ममता बनर्जी का जनाधार बहुत मजबूत है. ममता कई बार साबित कर चुकी हैं कि वह जानती हैं, चुनाव कैसे लड़ा जाता है और कैसे जीता जाता है.
लेकिन इसका मतलब ये नहीं कि बीजेपी इस चुनाव को हल्के से लेगी. बीजेपी बंगाल में ममता को हराने और सरकार बनाने के लिए लड़ रही है.
पिछले विधानसभा चुनाव में बीजेपी के संगठन में जो गलतियां हुईं थीं उन्हें इस बार दुरुस्त किया गया है और अगर ममता की ये बात सही है कि SIR में उनके समर्थकों के वोट भारी तादाद में काटे गए हैं तो फिर ममता के लिए सरकार बचाना मुश्किल होगा.
लेकिन ममता बनर्जी किसी से कम नहीं हैं. बंगाल में चुनाव तारीखों के ऐलान के साथ ही उन्होंने चुनाव आयोग पर जबरदस्त हमला बोल दिया.
दरअसल चुनाव आयोग ने बंगाल में बड़े पैमाने पर प्रशासनिक फेरबदल के आदेश दिए हैं. ममता बनर्जी के करीबी बंगाल के पुलिस महानिदेशक, मुख्य सचिव, गृह सचिव और कोलकाता के पुलिस कमिश्नर समेत 6 बड़े अफसरों को चुनाव आयोग ने हटा दिया.
चुनाव आयोग ने नंदिनी चक्रवर्ती की जगह दुष्यंत नारियाला को नया मुख्य सचिव बनाया है, जगदीश मीणा की जगह संघमित्रा घोष को गृह सचिव नियुक्त किया है, पीयूष पांडेय की जगह सिद्धनाथ गुप्ता को पुलिस महानिदेशक बनाया है और अजय कुमार नंद को कोलकाता का पुलिस आयुक्त बनाया है.
ममता बनर्जी ने चुनाव आयोग के आदेश को बंगाल के खिलाफ साजिश बताया. उन्होंने कहा कि हो सकता है चुनाव के दौरान बीजेपी उनपर हमला करवाए और उनकी हत्या की कोशिश करे.
लेकिन बीजेपी नेताओं ने चुनाव आयोग के फैसले को बिल्कुल सही बताया. केन्द्रीय मंत्री सुकांत मजूमदार ने कहा कि जिन अफसरों को हटाया गया है, वे ममता बनर्जी के लिए पार्टी वर्कर के तौर पर काम कर रहे थे, इसलिए उनको हटाना जरूरी था.
सुकांत मजूमदार ने कहा कि अभी कई जिलों के DM और SP भी ऐसे हैं जो तृणमूल कांग्रेस के लिए काम करते हैं, इसलिए बीजेपी चुनाव आयोग से उनको भी हटाने की मांग करेगी.
कायदे कानून की नजर से देखें तो चुनाव आयोग को पूरा अधिकार है. वह चुनाव के समय किसी भी अफसर को हटा सकता है लेकिन fairplay के हिसाब से देखें तो किसी भी अफसर को हटाने के लिए उसके खिलाफ कोई शिकायत होनी चाहिए.
दूसरी बात, इन अफसरों को हटाए जाने पर इतनी हाय तौबा क्यों ? क्या तृणमूल कांग्रेस ने इन अफसरों को चुनाव में मदद करवाने के लिए रखवाया था?
अगर ये आरोप सही है कि ये अफसर तृणमूल कांग्रेस के वर्कर्स की तरह काम कर रहे थे तो ममता को चुनाव आयोग पर ये आरोप लगाने का क्या हक है कि उसके अफसर बीजेपी के इशारे पर काम करते हैं ?
मोटी बात ये है ऐसा पहली बार नहीं हुआ है कि चुनाव आयोग ने चुनाव के समय किसी अफसर को हटाया हो. महाराष्ट्र में बीजेपी की सरकार थी, फिर भी चुनाव से पहले कई बड़े अफसर बदले गए थे.
इस बार भी चुनाव आयोग ने तमिलनाडु में चार IPS अफसरों को हटाया, करूर और इरोड समेत चार जिलों के SP बदल दिए, असम में जहां बीजेपी की सरकार है वहां भी पांच जिलों के SSP बदले गए. इसीलिए चुनैव आयोग को दोष देने का कोई कारण नहीं है.
इधर ममता बनर्जी चुनाव का ऐलान होते ही सड़क पर उतर गई. उन्होंने LPG सिलेंडर की किल्लत के विरोध में मार्च निकाला. तृणमूल कांग्रेस के नेता ममता के साथ सड़क पर पैदल चले.
ममता ने रैली में कहा कि देश में एलपीजी की कोई किल्लत नहीं है, बीजेपी ने जानबूझकर लोगों को परेशान करने के लिए सिलेंडर की सप्लाई कम की है, लेकिन बंगाल के लोग बीजेपी को चुनाव में सबक सिखाएंगे.
ममता बनर्जी ने कहा कि लोगों को केन्द्र सरकार के दावे नहीं, बीजेपी के वादे नहीं, गैस के सिलेंडर चाहिए.
ममता बनर्जी जमीन से जुड़ी नेता हैं. वो फ्रंट फुट पर खेलती हैं. रविवार को चुनाव की तारीखों का ऐलान हुआ और अगले ही दिन ममता सड़क पर उतर गईं. यही बात ममता को दूसरे नेताओं से अलग बनाती है. ममता ने मुद्दा भी LPG सिलेंडर का उठाया, जो सीधे आम जनता से जुड़ा है.

The battle lines for West Bengal assembly polls have been drawn with BJP deciding to field Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Bhawanipur, Kolkata. Adhikari will also contest from Nandigram, where he defeated Mamata last time. Mamata had to contest a byelection from Bhawanipur to enter the Assembly.
BJP has also fielded its two firebrand leaders Dilip Ghosh from Kharagpur Sadar and Agnimitra Paul from Asansol South. In all, names of BJP candidates for 144 seats were announced on Monday.
Mamata Banerjee’s support base across the state is strong and she has proved it time and again, how elections are contested and won. But this does not, in any sense, mean that BJP is going to take the elections lightly this time. The party is leaving no stone unturned to defeat Trinamool Congress this time. Mistakes that were made in the last elections have been corrected this time.
If Mamata’s charges are true that names of a large chunk of her supporters have been removed from voter lists during Special Intensive Revision (SIR), then it can be a tough task for her to save her government this time.
But, true to her style, Mamata, as a grassroots leader, has hit the ground running. On Monday, she lashed out at the Election Commission for shifting out the state chief secretary, home secretary, director-general of police and Kolkata police commissioner.
Mamata Banerjee said, the EC order is a conspiracy against Bengal. She went to the extent of apprehending threats to her life.
BJP leaders, however, justified the EC action.
Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar said, the bureaucrats who were shifted out were working as “party workers” for Mamata Banerjee and their shifting was necessary.
He said, there are still several district magistrates and district police chiefs who are working for Trinamool Congress. BJP has demanded their removal too.
Constitutionally, the Election Commission has powers to transfer bureaucrats when election process begins. But from the point of fairplay, there must be justification or allegations before an official is shunted.
Seondly, why this hullabaloo over shunting of offcers? Does it mean, Trinamool Congress had posted this officials to help the party during elections?
If the allegations that these officers were helping Trinamool Congress are true, then does Mamata Banerjee has the right to allege that officers of EC are working at the behest of BJP?
In a nutshell, this is not the first time that the EC has shunted bureaucrats during elections. In Maharashtra, BJP was in power and yet EC transferred several top officials. This time, EC transferred 4 IPS officers in Tamil Nadu, SPs of four districts were shunted, and in BJP-ruled Assam, SSPs of five districts were transferred.
There seems to be no valid reason for pointing fingers at the Election Commission on this issue.
Mamata Banerjee, on Monday, was busy taking out a ‘padyatra’ on Kolkata roads, along with her ministers and party leaders, to raise the issue of shortage of LPG cylinders.
She told a rally that there was actually no shortage of LPG and BJP is “deliberaltely harassing” common people by drastically cutting off LPG supplies.
Mamata Banerjee said, people of Bengal “will teach BJP a lesson this time…People do not want tall claims from the Centre, rosy promises from BJP, they simply want LPG cylinders.”
One must admit, Mamata Banerjee is a grassroots leader. She always plays on the front foot. Election dates were announced on Sunday, and on the very next day, she was on the roads of Kolkata to highlight LPG shortage.
This makes Mamata different from other leaders. She raised the LPG cylinder issue. which is closely linked to the woes of the common man.

सरकार ने शुक्रवार को बड़े शहरों में सभी कमर्शियल एलपीजी उपभोक्ताओं से कहा कि वे अपने स्थानीय पाइप्ड नैचरल गैस (पीएनजी) प्रोवाइडर से संपर्क करें और पीएनजी कनैक्शन लें.
पेट्रोलियम मंत्रालय की अधिकारी सुजाता शर्मा ने एक प्रेस कांफ्रेंस में कहा कि घरेलू उपभोक्ताओं के लिए पीएनजी और सभी उपभोक्ताओं के लिए सीएनजी की सप्लाई में कोई कटौती नहीं की गई है. ऐसे स्थिति में पैनिक की कोई ज़रूरत नहीं है.
अधिकारी ने बताया कि मोजूदा एलपीजी संकट के पीछे मुख्य वजह अपवाहों के कारण लोगों द्वारा पैनिक में की जा रही बुकिंग है. ईरान युद्ध से पहले रोजाना 55.7 लाख एलपीजी की बुकिंग होती थी, जो अब बढ़ कर 75.7 लाख, यानी 20 लाख दैनिक के हिसाब से बढ गई है.
मंत्रालय की अधिकारी ने कहा कि सभी पेट्रोल पम्प पर प3याप्त मात्रा में पेट्रोल और डीजल उपलब्ध है, केवल एलपीजी अभी चिंता का विषय है. इसके बावजूद, हमारे 25,000 एलपीजी वितरकों में से किसी ने भी सिलेंडर स्टॉक खत्म होने की शिकायत नहीं कही है.
मंत्रालय की अधिकारी ने लोगों से फिर अपील की कि वे अपवाहों पर यकीन न करें और पैनिक में खरीदारी न करें.
पेट्रोल और डीजल के बारे में अधिकारी ने कहा कि भारत के पास 25.8 करोड़ टन कच्चा तेल रिफाइन करने की क्षमता उपलब्ध है और भारत पेट्रोल और डीजल के मामले में पूरी तरह आत्मनिर्भर है. हमारी सभी रिफायनरी शत प्रतिशत क्षमता के साम कर रही हैं और सभी के पास तेल का पर्याप्त स्टॉक है.
सरकार का कहना है कि देश में रोज़ाना 50 लाख गैस सिलेंडर की सप्लाई होती है. भारत 60 प्रतिशत LPG का आयात करता है और इसमें से 90 प्रतिशत LPG होर्मुज़ स्ट्रेट से होकर गुज़रता है. होर्मूज स्ट्रेट बंद है. इसलिए अब सरकार के आदेश पर तेल रिफायलनियों ने LPG का उत्पादन 28 प्रतिशत बढ़ा दिया है.
पैनिक बुकिंग, जमाखोरी और कालाबाजारी की वजह से गैस सिलेंडर की सप्लाई में कठिनाई पैदा हो रही है. यूपी, बिहार, झारखंड, मध्य प्रदेश, महाराष्ट्र से लेकर पंजाब, राजस्थान और दिल्ली में गैस एजेंसियों के सामने लंबी लंबी लाइनें लग रही हैं. साथ ही पुलिस ने छापे मार कर कई राज्यों में जमाखोरों द्वारा छिपा कर रखे गये सिलेंडर जब्त किए हैं.
दिल्ली, चेन्नई, बैंगलुरू और मुंबई तक सैकड़ों होटल बंद होने के कगार पर पहुंच गए हैं. कई होटल्स और ढाबों ने गैस के चूल्हे की जगह भट्टियों का इस्तेमाल शुरू कर दिया है ताकि इस संकट में उनका कारोबार चौपट होने से बच जाए. लखनऊ में भट्टियों की मांग बढ़ गई है. दिल्ली में भी कई छोटे होटल और रेस्तरां ने गैस चूल्हे के बजाय भट्टियों का इस्तेमाल शुरू कर दिया है.
भारत में कमर्शियल सिलेंडर के संकट की दो वजह हैं. एक तो सप्लाई की कमी और दूसरा, जमाखोरी की आदत. जिसे मौका लगता है अपने लिए दो-चार सिलेंडर दबा कर बैठ जाता है ताकि आने वाले दिनों में संकट का सामना न करना पड़े.
कुछ लोग तो गैस सिलेंडर ब्लैक में बेचने का काम भी करने लगे हैं. लेकिन कैंटीन और छोटे होटल चलाने वालों की परेशानी जायज़ है. वे अपने कारोबार पर चोट बर्दाश्त नहीं कर सकते. इसीलिए उनकी मदद कैसे की जा सकती है, इस पर सरकार को विचार करना चाहिए.
पेट्रोल, डीज़ल और गैस की सप्लाई पर नज़र रखने के लिए मंत्रियों की जो कमेटी गृह मंत्री अमित शाह की अध्यक्षता में बनी है, उसकी जिम्मेदारी है कि जमीनी स्तर पर समस्याओं को समझकर उसका हल निकालें. ये इसीलिए भी जरूरी है कि क्योंकि खाड़ी में हालात कब सुधरेंगे. ये जंग कब खत्म होगी किसी को नहीं मालूम.
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने ईरान के राष्ट्रपति मसूद पेजशकियान से गुरुवार को जंग से पैदा हुए हालात के बारे में बात की थी. शुक्रवार को विदेश मंत्री एस. जयशंकर ने ईरान के विदेश मंत्री अब्बास अरग़ची से चौथी बार फोन पर बात की.
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कूटनीति की सारी लाइनें खुली रखी हैं. यही सबसे अच्छी कूटनीति है, जहां भारत को फायदा दिखेगा, वह उसी लाइन का इस्तेमाल करेगा. ये क्या कम बड़ी बात है कि जब पूरी दुनिया में तेल की कीमतें बढ़ती जा रही हैं, भारत में पेट्रोल डीजल के दाम एक पैसा भी नहीं बढ़ाया गया. अन्तरराष्ट्रीय बाजार में कच्चे तेल की कीमत शुक्रवार को 101 से 102 डालर प्रति बैरल के बीच थी.
ईरान जंग का आज 14वां दिन है और अबी तक जंग रुकने के आसान नज़र नहीं आ रहे हैं. शुक्रवार को इज़राइल ने फिर ईरान पर भीषण बमबारी की. जवाब में ईरान ने दुबई में इंटरनेशनल फिनेंशियल सेंटर ज़ोन पर ड्रोन से हमला किया.
इस हमले में DIFC Innovation Hub इमारत के कुछ हिस्से में आग लग गई और बिल्डिंग के बारी हिस्से को नुकसान पहुंचा. DIFC एक इकोनोमिक फ्री ज़ोन है, जहां दुनिया भर के बड़े बैंक और वित्तीय संस्थानों के दफ्तर हैं, साथ में इस इमरात में बड़े रेस्तरां और नाइटक्लब भी हैं.
ईरानी सेना ने दो दिन पहले धमकी दी थी कि सेना खाड़ी के देशों में बैंकों और विच्चीय संस्थानों पर हमला करेगी क्योंकि इजराइल ने पिछले दिनों तेहरान में एक बैंक पर बमबारी की थी.
उधर इराक के इरबिल में फ्रांस के एक अड्डे पर हुए हमले में एक फ्रांसीसी सैनिक मारा गया और 6 अन्य सैनिक घायल हो गये. फ्रांस के ये सैनिक इस्लामिक स्टेट आतंकवादियों से मुकाबले के लिए तैनात थे.
शुक्रवार को अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप ने कहा कि ईरान को अभी और सबक सिखाया जाएगा. ट्रंप ने कहा कि उन्हें लगता है, आयतुल्लाह मुज्तबा खामेनेई ज़ख्मी है, पर ज़िंदा हैं.
गुरुवार को मुज्तबा खामेनेई ने ईरान के टेलीविजन पर प्रसारित अपने लिखित बयान में कहा था कि ईरान अमेरीकी और इज़राइली हमलों में मारे गए लोगों का बदला जरूर लेगा. खामेनेई ने मांग की कि जिन देळों ने हम पर युद्ध थोपा है, वो हमें हर्जाना दे वरना हम उन पर हमला जारी रखेंगे. खामेनेई ने कहा कि हॉर्मुज़ स्ट्रेट अभी बंद रहेगा और जहाजों के यहां से गुजरने नहीं दिया जाएगा.
इसमें कोई शक नहीं कि ट्रंप तेल की बढ़ती कीमतों के दबाव में हैं. ये भी सही है कि उनका जो ‘Make America Great Again’ का नारा था, वो भी इस युद्ध के धुएं में धुंधला पड़ने लगा है.
ट्रंप चाहते हैं कि जंग जल्दी खत्म हो लेकिन उनके सलाहकारों का कहना है कि इस समय लड़ाई को रोकना बड़े खतरे का काम है.
अगर ईरान मान भी जाए तो भी जंग रोकने में जोखिम है. अगर ट्रंप जीत का दावा करें, बमबारी रोक दें तो इससे विश्व में बाजार तो तो सुधर जाएंगे लेकिन ये कम समय के लिये होगा और युद्ध दोबारा शुरू होने का खतरा बना रहेगा क्योंकि इस समय ईरान में जो सरकार है, वो गुस्से में है, वह मुकाबला करना चाहती है और उसके पास एटमी मैटिरियल का बड़ा स्टॉक है, मिसाइल और ड्रोन है, अगर उसे थोड़ा समय देकर फिर से मजबूत होकर खड़े होने का मौका मिला तो ईरान तबाही मचा सकता है.
इसी डर ने ट्रंप को ये जंग जारी रखने पर मजबूर किया हुआ है.
इजराइल तो बिलकुल नहीं चाहता कि ये जंग रुके क्योंकि ईरान से सबसे बड़ा खतरा इजराइल को ही है. इजराइल तो कहता है कि जब तक ईरान को पूरी तरह नेस्तनाबूद न कर दिया जाए तब तक ये जंग जारी रहनी चाहिए. लेकिन ईरान को जंग लड़ते रहने की आदत है, अमेरिका को नहीं. यही इस समय ट्रंप और अमेरिका की सबसे बड़ी समस्या है.

The Centre on Friday asked all commercial LPG consumers in major urban cities to contact their local city gas distribution network provider or their designated dealer to obtain a piped natural gas (PNG) connection to avoid facing disruptions in LPG supplies.
Peteroleum ministry official Sujata Sharma told a press conference that “supply of piped natural gas to domestic consumers and CNG is being ensured without any interruption or cuts. Given this situation, there is absolutely no need to panic.”
She pointed out that the present crisis is being created due to panic bookings. “LPG bookings surged to 75.7 lakh daily against an average of 55.7 lakh daily before the Iran war”, she said.
The ministry official said, “petrol and diesel are available in adequate quantities at all petrol pumps.. Regarding LPG, it remains a matter of concern. Despite this situation, no dry out has been reported at any of our 25,000 distributors.”
She again appealed to people not to give credence to rumours and to refrain from enganging in panic buying”.
On petrol and diesel, the official said, “India possesses a refining capacity of 258 million tonnes and we are self-sufficient in production of petrol and diesel. All our refineries are currently opertion at 100 per cent capacity or higher and the refineries hold adequate inventories of crude oil. Supply of piped natural gas to domestic consumers and CNG is being ensured without any interruptions or cuts. Hence there is absolutely no need to panic.”
Nearly five million LPG cylinders are supplied daily across India. India imports 60 pc of its LPG requirements, out of which nearly 90 pc gas passes through Strait of Hormuz.
Panic booking, hoarding and blackmarketing are the main causes behind the current LPG crisis. Many hotels and restaurants have switched to ‘bhatti’ (coal and wood fired ovens) because of disruption in supplies of commercial LPG cylinders. Long queues for LPG cylinders have been noticed in most of the cities and towns.
The current rush for LPG cylinders is being caused by baseless rumours and the tendency to hoard. Many people have this tendency to hoard two or four cylinders to avoid facing crisis. On the other hand, unscrupulous people are busy making money by selling LPG cylinders in the grey market.
The problems being faced by canteens, restaurants and hotels are genuine. Their owners cannot afford a dent in their business. The government must explore ways to help them tide over this crisis.
The commitee of three ministers headed by Home Minister Amit Shah should find out means to tackle these problems on the ground level. Presently, nobody knows when the Iran war will end.
On Friday, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar spoke to Iran’s foreign minister Syed Abbas Araghchi over phone and discussed about allowing safe passage for Indian tankers stuck in the Strait of Hormuz.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has kept all channels open as far as diplomatic efforts are concerned. This is good diplomacy. India will be utilizing its channels in the national interest. One must note that India has not raised prices of diesel and petrol despite the surge in price of international crude which has crossed $100 a barrel.
As the Iran war entered its 14th day, the conflict intensified with Israel carrying out a wave of airstrikes taregting infrastructure in Tehran and other places inside Iran.
In retaliation, Iran carried out an aerial attack on a building at the Dubai International Financial Center. The DIFC Innovation Hub building suffered damage and pieces of its facade were torn away. DIFC is an economic free zone in Dubai for banks, capital traders and wealth managers, and there are retaurants and nightclubs in the area too.
Iran’s joint military command had earlier threatened that it would now target banks and financial institutions in the Middle East, after an Israeli airstrike hit a bank in Tehran.
On Friday, US President Donald Trump gave a fresh threat to Iran. He wrote on social media: “Watch what happens to these deranged scumbags today…. Iran’s Navy is gone, their Air Force is no longer there, missiles, drones and everything else are being decimated, and their leaders have been wiped from the face of the earth… They’ve been killing innocent people all over the world for 47 years, and now I, as the 47th President of the United States of America, am killing them… What a great honor it is to do so!”
In an interview, Trump said, “I think he (Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei) is damaged, but I think he’s probably alive in some form”. There are reports that Mojtaba Khamenei is undergoing treatment for serious injuries that he suffered during the Israeli attack on February 26.
A day earlier, a statement from Mojtaba Khamenei was read out on state Iranian television in which the new supreme leader of Iran said, Iran will avenge the deaths of those killed in the attacks.
Khamenei demanded reparations from US and Israel, which, he said, imposed war on Iran. He said, the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed and ships will not be allowed to pass.
There is no doubt that Trump is under pressure because of rising crude prices. His slogan, ‘Make America Great Again’, appears to be sounding hollow after the Iran war.
Trump wants the war to end soon, but his advisers believe, it can be risky if the conflict is stopped now. Even if Iran agrees to a ceasefire, halting the conflict could be dangerous.
If Trump agrees to stop bombing of Iran after unilaterally claiming victory, global markets can heave a sigh of relief, but that will be for a short duration.
The risk of resumption of war wll remain. The reason: the present regime in Iran is angry after the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and it is raring for a fight. Iran still has stocks of nuclear fissile material, missiles and drones.
If ceasefire is declared, Iran will get a breather to regroup and it can again cause devastation. It is because of this risk that Trump is forced to continue with this war.
On its part, Israel is not at all willing to halt the conflict, because it faces its existential threat from Iran. Israel wants the war to continue till the time the entire Iranian regime is decimated.
One must note, Iran has a long experience of fighting wars, but the US does not. This is the biggest conundrum now facing both Trump and the United States.
