With the Narcotics Control Bureau registering a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against several persons including Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Shouvik, the stage is now set for a big move to unearth the connections between drug mafia, their peddlers and Bollywood actors. This has brought about a major twist to the ongoing CBI and ED probe into actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death mystery. Rhea’s arrest appears to be imminent.

On Thursday, an official letter from the Enforcement Directorate was made available to media in which it was said that ED “cloned” two cellphones of Rhea Chakraborty and ‘after analysis of digital data it revealed several conversations of Rhea Chakraborty with Samuel Miranda (Sushant’s house manager), Showik (her brother), Dipesh Sawant (Sushant’s photographer), and Jaya Saha (Kwan Talent Management executive), Simone Khambatta, Gaurav Arya, etc.’

The ED letter further said: “the analysis of conversations between Rhea and Samuel reveal that these two were working in close coordination and were using the funds of Sushant Singh Rajput for their own purpose. The conversations further revealed that Rhea had obtained details of PIN of Sushant’s debit card from Samuel Miranda.”

“The whatsapp conversation has further revealed that Rhea was indulging in usage and procurement of narcotics substance namely weed (marijuana/cannabis), CBD etc. illegally since year 2017. ..For the sake of clarity, some of the conversations may be summarised as under: (1) Conversations between Rhea and Samuel dated 17.4.2020 and 1.5.2020 pertain to procurement of weed from Showik and procurement of two bags of weed for Rs 17,000. (2) Conversations between Rhea and Jaya Saha dated 15.11.2019 have revealed that Ms. Saha delivered CBD (cannabidiol, a chemical compound of marijuana which is banned over certain concentration) to Rhea, which was to be mixed in the coffee of SSR (Sushant) (3) Similarly, conversations dated 07.04.2020, 27/28.04.2020, 16.3.2017 and 8.3.2017 pertain to procurement and use of weed.”

The ED letter clearly reveals that the WhatsApp messages retrieved till now clearly indicate that Rhea used to procure drugs. Fresh WhatsApp messages retrieved on Wednesday indicate that drugs were sought by Rhea from peddlers, prices were decided, places of delivery were finalized, and the names of those who would deliver the drugs were revealed during chats.

Rhea had deleted all these messages on her WhatsApp, but ED sleuths managed to retrieve them all. And what followed has changed the entire course of the investigation into Sushant’s death mystery.

Till now, the cause of Sushant’s death was being speculated as murder/suicide/abetment to suicide, the ED had been called to probe the money laundering angle, but out tumbled the drugs angle, and the NCB had to enter the scene. Nobody had then even remotely suggested that the drugs angle could have led to Sushant’s death.

WhatsApp messages between Rhea, Sushant, Shruti Modi and Jaya Saha clearly reveal that Rhea was into drugs three years back, since 2017 to be precise. People who came in touch with Sushant through Rhea for providing drugs were all part of her inner circle, whether Shruti Modi or Dipesh Sawant. NCB is now probing how far Rhea’s connections with drug peddlers and suppliers had spread. The sleuths are now going to probe whether it was Rhea who introduced Sushant to the world of drug abuse. Was Sushant’s death a part of a bigger conspiracy? The jury is still out.

The overall picture about Sushant’s death mystery that was hazy till Monday, has now cleared up with the drugs angle appearing to be a vital one. In our prime time show ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ on Tuesday, I had clearly said that the drugs angle could have been the cause behind Sushant’s death, and the direction of the probe appears to be headed towards the same direction.

On Tuesday, India TV had revealed some of the WhatsApp chats between Rhea, her associates and drug peddlers. These appeared to be sketchy and somewhat disjointed, but on Wednesday, we got more WhatsApp messages from our reporter Rajiv Kumar, and the picture now seems to be clearer.

On May 1, 2020, Rhea had a chat with Miranda Sushi, where the latter asked her whether she was willing to pay Dipesh Rs 17,000 for two bags of ‘weed’. Miranda said during the chat, one bag is for ‘us’, and the other bag is for ‘HIM’. Towards the end of the chat, Miranda write, HE WILL TRANSFER IT TO US.

Is Miranda Sushi the same person named Samuel Miranda, because Truecaller is showing the name Samuel Miranda for this number. There are words like MDMA, HASH, BUDD in Rhea’s chats. In one chat, Jaya Saha is shown telling Rhea to give HIM four drops in tea to sip and see the effect after 30-40 minutes. Was the word HIM meant for Sushant? In another chat, MBD oil (oil extracted from bhang flower) was suggested to be used with coffee.

Remember, May 1, 2020 was the day when lockdown due to COVID was still in force and life had come to a standstill. And yet, Rhea was arranging drugs for herself and for HIM. Two weeks prior to that, on April 17, during lockdown period, Rhea was chatting with Miranda Sushi, in which one was saying that the stuff is no more, and whether we should take the HASH or BUDD from Shovik’s friend? To this, Rhea replies, Yes, we can do that, but you must tell how much and how.

There are WhatsApp chats between Rhea and Sushant’s servant Dipesh Sawant about how to procure drugs on April 27 and 28. Dipesh is the man, who was present in Sushant’s flat on the fateful day, June 14, and helped Siddharth Pithani to lower the body from the ceiling fan to the bed. Dipesh is presently under interrogation of CBI. In one of the chats, Dipesh is telling Rhea that we have to order now because she is going to Dombivali, Rhea replies ‘Okay’, and on the next day, Dipesh tells Rhea, two bags have been ordered and they will be delivered today.

A chat dated November 25, 2019 reveals Jaya Saha telling Rhea that your people are very cute and I am sending CBD Oil (hashish) to Waterstone. Rhea replies: Bless you, Brosky. The same day at 5.53 pm, Jaya tells Rhea on WhatsApp, the office boy has reached Waterstone. Let me tell you, Waterstone is the resort where Rhea and Sushant spent time after their return from Europe. The same day, Jaya advised Rhea to put four drops (of CBD oil) in tea or coffee and make him sip, it will show effect in 30-40 minutes.

Meanwhile, the CBI on Wednesday questioned the building security guard, Siddharth Pithani and Sushant’s servant Niraj. Pithani told the CBI that on June 8, after a quarrel between Rhea and Sushant, an IT professional was called to destroy eight hard disks from Sushant’s computer system. CBI sleuths on Wednesday also questioned the Cooper Hospital doctors who had carried out autopsy of Sushant’s body. This was the third time in three days when CBI went to Cooper Hospital to question the doctors. There seems to be serious deficiencies in the post mortem report, and an AIIMS forensic team has already sent its observations to CBI on this score.

The overall view at this moment seems to be that the sleuths are yet to find out the real motive behind the act. Was Sushant’s death a result of murder or conspiracy, and if so, what was the motive? Who gained from his death? Sushant had no enmity with anybody in Bollywood. He made his mark in the film industry by dint of sheer merit. If it is alleged that it was Rhea who arranged his death, the natural question arises: it was Rhea who was benefiting from her closeness with Sushant. Why should she make him die?

However, with the entry of drugs angle, some definitive facts are spilling out. One, Rhea was using drugs, Two, she knew from where to buy drugs, Three, the drugs were brought when both Rhea and Sushant were staying in Waterstone resort.

The tumbling out of facts also exposes the slipshod manner in which Mumbai Police let its probe drag on for two months. Questions are being asked as to whether Mumbai Police was trying to shield somebody. Mumbai Police questioned 56 persons, some of them eminent directors and producers of Bollywood, for two months but failed to find the drug connection. For most of us sitting away from Mumbai, the drugs angle could be shocking, but insiders in Bollywood know that drugs abuse is common in the industry. And yet, Mumbai Police shut its eye towards this angle. The question is why?

Siddharth Pithani is on record having told Mumbai Police that he had deleted several pictures and texts from the hard disk of Sushant’s computer. Why was this angle not probed? Mumbai Police must come out with credible answers because its reputation as a professional police force has gone for a toss.

नारकोटिक्स कंट्रोल ब्यूरो के प्रमुख राकेश अस्थाना के ऐक्टर सुशांत सिंह राजपूत की रहस्यमय मौत के मामले में ड्रग्स कनेक्शन की जांच के फैसले ने अब एक नया मोड़ ला दिया है। एनसीबी इस काम के लिए गठित एक स्पेशल यूनिट को जांच सौंपने जा रही है। यह फैसला इस सनसनीखेज जानकारी के सामने आने के बाद लिया गया कि रिया चक्रवर्ती ने 2017 से 2020 के बीच संदिग्ध ड्रग डीलर्स गौरव और टैलेंट मैनेजर जया साहा के साथ हुई अपनी वॉट्सऐप चैट को डिलीट कर दिया था। ईडी रिया के सेलफोन से डिलीट किए गए कई चैट्स को फिर से हासिल करने में कामयाब रही और उन्हें सुशांत की मौत के मामले में ड्रग्स के ऐंगल की जांच के लिए नारकोटिक्स कंट्रोल ब्यूरो को आगे भेजा दिया।

इंडिया टीवी के पास रिया के वॉट्सऐप से डिलीट किए गए ऐसे 8 चैट्स हैं, जिनमें साफ ड्रग कनेक्शन लगता है। 8 मार्च 2017 को पहली चैट में रिया ने ड्रग डीलर गौरव से कहा कि यदि आप हार्ड ड्रग्स के बारे में बात कर रहे हैं, तो मैं उन्हें ज्यादा नहीं लेती, लेकिन मैंने एक बार एमडीएमए (मेथिलीन डाइऑक्सी मेथ एम्फेटामाइन) लिया है। एमडीएमए ड्रग्स को पश्चिमी देशों में बतौर एक्स्टेसी, मैंडी या मॉली बेचा जाता है। हालांकि रिया के वकील ने ड्रग्स कनेक्शन की बात को सख्ती से नकार दिया है। डिलीट किए गए कुछ चैट्स के मुताबिक, 17 अप्रैल 2020 को रिया ने ‘मिरांडा सुशी’ के नाम से सेव किए गए कॉन्टैक्ट से बात की, जिसने कहा, ‘हाय रिया, सामान लगभग खत्म हो गया है। क्या हमें इसे शौविक (रिया के भाई) के दोस्त से लेना चाहिए? लेकिन उसके पास सिर्फ हैश और बड है।’ गौरव के साथ हुई एक अन्य चैट में उसने पूछा था, ‘तुम्हारे पास एमडी है?’

25 नवंबर 2019 को जया साहा के साथ एक और चैट हुई, जिसमें जया ने लिखा है कि मैंने उसे श्रुति के साथ कोऑर्डिनेट करने के लिए कहा है, जिसके जवाब में रिया ने कहा, थैंक यू सो मच। उसी दिन रिया के साथ एक अन्य चैट में जया साहा ने लिखा- कोई दिक्कत नहीं है, दोस्त, चलो उम्मीद करते हैं कि इससे मदद मिलेगी। चौथी चैट में जया ने रिया को लिखा, ‘चाय में 4 बूंद डालो, उसे 30 से 40 मिनट का समय दें, यह किक करेगा (अपना असर दिखाएगा)। 17 अप्रैल, 2020 को एक अन्य वॉट्सऐप चैट में मिरांडा सुशी ने रिया से कहा, ‘हाय, हमने सारा माल खत्म कर दिया है। क्या हमें शौविक के दोस्त से लेना चाहिए, उसके पास सिर्फ हैश और बड है।’ ईडी के पास कॉल डिटेल रिकॉर्ड्स भी हैं जिनके मुताबिक 14 जून को, जिस दिन सुशांत की मौत हुई, रिया ने साहा से कई बार बात की। पहला फोन दोपहर 2.37 पर, रिया को सुशांत की मौत के बारे में पता चलने के 4 मिनट बाद किया गया था। कॉल डिटेल रिकॉर्ड्स के मुताबिक रिया ने अगले दिन भी जया को फोन किया था।

इस चौंकाने वाली जानकारी के सामने आने के बाद प्रवर्तन निदेशालय, जिसने इस मामले में मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग के ऐंगल की जांच की थी, ने NCB को नारकोटिक्स कनेक्शन के बारे में सूचित किया। अब सवाल उठ रहे हैं कि क्या अपार्टमेंट में हफ्ते में 2 बार होने वाली पार्टियों में एमडीएमए और मारिजुआना का इस्तेमाल किया जाता था। ऐसे भी सवाल उठ रहे हैं कि क्या रिया, सुशांत और उनके दोस्त ड्रग्स के आदी थे। सुशांत के फ्लैट के एक नौकर ने जांचकर्ताओं को बताया कि पार्टियों में मारिजुआना का इस्तेमाल किया जाता था। सुशांत के नौकर नीरज ने मुंबई पुलिस को बताया था कि उसने 11 जून को मारिजुआना से भरी हुई सिगरेट्स एक स्पेशल बॉक्स से निकालकर मेहमानों को दी थी। 14 जून को, सुशांत की मौत के बाद यह बॉक्स खाली पाया गया था।

और अब बात करते हैं ऐक्टर की मौत के मामले में चल रही सीबीआई जांच के बारे में। मंगलवार रात अपने प्राइम टाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में हमने दिखाया कि सुशांत के मैनेजर सिद्धार्थ पिठानी ने सीबीआई को पूरे मामले के बारे में क्या-क्या जानकारी दी। उसके बयान कुछ हद तक विरोधाभासी लग रहे हैं। उसके बयान और भी ज्यादा कंफ्यूजन पैदा कर रहे हैं। पिठानी सुशांत की मौत के दिन अपार्टमेंट में मौजूद 4 लोगों में, जिनमें नौकर भी शामिल हैं, सबसे सीनियर है। सीबीआई ने उससे 11 घंटे से ज्यादा देर तक पूछताछ की, और इस दौरान उसने कई विरोधाभासी बयान दिए। पिठानी ने बताया कि 14 जून को, जिस दिन सुशांत की मौत हुई, वह सुबह 10 से 10.30 बजे के बीच अपने कमरे में आया और अपने कंप्यूटर पर काम करने लगा। बाद में कुक केशव वहां पहुंचा और उसने कहा कि सुशांत अपने बेडरूम का दरवाजा नहीं खोल रहे हैं।

पिठानी के मुताबिक, सुशांत की बहन मीतू ने उसे यह बताने के लिए फोन किया कि वह उनकी कॉल का जवाब नहीं दे रहे हैं। पिठानी का कहना है कि उन्होंने मीतू को आने के लिए कहा, और एक अन्य नौकर दीपेश को वॉचमैन के पास एक ताले वाले को बुलाने के लिए भेजा। पिठानी ने बताया कि वॉचमैन ने मदद नहीं की जिसके बाद उसने Google पर पास के ताले वालों की तलाश की और वहां उसे रफीक नाम का ताले वाला मिल गया। उसने दिन में 1.06 बजे रफीक को फोन किया, जिसने डुप्लिकेट चाभी से ताला लॉक खोलने के लिए 2,000 रुपये मांगे। सिद्धार्थ ने रफीक को दरवाजे के ताले की तस्वीर और सुशांत के घर का पता वॉट्सऐप पर भेज दिया। पिठानी का कहना है कि उसने मीतू को भी इसकी जानकारी दी थी। दोपहर 1.20 बजे ताला खोलने वाला एक हेल्पर के साथ आया और ताले को देखने के बाद उसने कहा कि ताला तोड़ना होगा। कुछ ही मिनटों में उसने ताला तोड़ा, 2000 रुपये लिए और अपने हेल्पर के साथ चला गया।

पिठानी के मुताबिक, वह और दीपक जब कमरे में घुसे तो वहां अधेरा था। पिठानी ने कहा कि दीपेश ने लाइट ऑन की और उसने सुशांत को सीलिंग फैन से लटका हुआ पाया। सुशांत के गले के चारों तरफ हरे रंग का कपड़ा कसा हुआ था। उसने कहा कि सुशांत के पैर बिस्तर के पास ढीले होकर लटक रहे थे। दोनों ही यह दृश्य देखकर स्तब्ध रह गए, इसके बाद पिठानी ने मीतू को फोन करके घटना के बारे में बताया, और उन्हें जल्दी से आने के लिए कहा। पिठानी ने 108 पर पुलिस को फोन करके मदद मांगी।

अब सवाल यह उठता है कि पिठानी ने सीलिंग फैन से शव को क्यों उतारा और पुलिस या मीतू, किसी के भी आने से पहले उसे बिस्तर पर लिटा दिया? पिठानी ने सीबीआई से कहा कि सुशांत की दूसरी बहन नीतू सिंह का भी चंडीगढ़ से फोन आया था, और उसने उन्हें भी घटना के बारे में जानकारी दी। पिठानी ने कहा कि नीतू के पति ओ.पी.सिंह, जो कि एक वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधिकारी हैं, ने फोन पर उससे कहा कि बॉडी को सीलिंग से नीचे उतारे और सुशांत को रिवाइव करने की कोशिश करे। पिठानी ने कहा कि नीतू ने भी उससे शव को नीचे उतारने के लिए कहा था। पिठानी ने नीरज से रसोई में इस्तेमाल होने वाला चाकू लाने को कहा, और उसकी मदद से उनसे हरे कपड़े को काट दिया और बॉडी को सीलिंग से नीचे उतार दिया।

पिठानी के मुताबिक, ऐक्टर की बहन मीतू बिस्तर पर बॉडी रखने के तुरंत बाद ही वहां पहुंच गईं। उन्होंने पूछा कि क्या सुशांत जिंदा हैं। उन्होंने उनसे बिस्तर पर शरीर को सीधा करने के लिए कहा। पिठानी ने बताया कि उसने, दीपेश ने और नीरज ने बॉडी को बिस्तर पर सीधा किया, गले में बंधे हरे कपड़े को ढीला किया और सुशांत को सीपीआर देने की कोशिश की। सुशांत की तरफ से ऐसा कोई रिस्पॉन्स नहीं आया जिससे लगे कि वह जिंदा हैं। पिठानी ने कहा कि तब तक बांद्रा पुलिस भी मौके पर पहुंच गई। सिद्धार्थ पिठानी ने सीबीआई को इस बारे में बताया था कि कैसे रिया और सुशांत की बहन अक्सर झगड़ा करती थीं, कैसे सुशांत उससे ऐक्टिंग छोड़ने और जैविक खेती पर काम करने के बारे में बात किया करते थे, कैसे जब सुशांत की बहन उनसे मिलने आई थीं तो वह रोए थे और कैसे सुशांत अपनी पूर्व मैनेजर दिशा सालियान की मौत के बारे में सुनकर बेहद परेशान थे।

हमारे पास इन पॉइंट्स पर पिठानी के बयान का पूरा डिटेल है, लेकिन जगह की कमी के कारण मैं इस ब्लॉग में इन सभी के बारे में बता पाने में असमर्थ हूं। सुशांत के लाखों प्रशंसक अभी भी सीबीआई जांच के नतीजों का इंतजार कर रहे हैं और वे उनकी रहस्यमय मौत के पीछे की सच्चाई जानने के लिए उत्सुक हैं। मुझे उम्मीद है कि सीबीआई जल्द ही सच तक जरूर पहुंचेगी।

The decision of Narcotics Control Bureau chief Rakesh Asthana to probe narcotics connection has now added a new twist to actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s mysterious death case. NCB is going to assign the probe to a special unit to be set up for the purpose.

This comes in the backdrop of explosive information that Rhea Chakraborty had deleted WhatsApp chats with suspected drug dealers Gaurav and talent manager Jaya Saha between 2017 and 2020. The ED has managed to retrieve several of these deleted chats from Rhea’s cellphone and has forwarded them to the Narcotics Control Bureau to probe the narcotics angle in Sushant death case.

India TV is in possession of eight such deleted chats from Rhea’s WhatsApp in which the drug connections seem to be apparent. In the first chat on March 8, 2017, Rhea is supposed to have told the drug dealer Gaurav that if you are talking about hard drugs, I do not take them much, but I once took MDMA (Methylene Dioxy Meth Amphetamine). MDMA drugs are sold in the West as Ecstasy, Mandy or Molly.

The narcotics connection has however been vehemently denied by Rhea’s lawyer. According to some of the deleted chats, on 17 April 2020 Rhea talked to a contact saved as ‘Miranda Sushi” who said, “Hi Rhea, the stuff is almost over. Should we take it from Showik’s (Rhea’s brother) friend? But he has just hash and bud.” In another chat with Gaurav she had asked , “You have MD?”

There is another chat with Jaya Saha on November 25, 2019, in which Jaya writes that I have told him to coordinate with Shruti, to which Rhea replied, Thank You So Much. On the same day, in another chat with Rhea, Jaya Saha writes, no problem, friend, let’s hope this will help. In the fourth chat, Jaya writes to Rhea, ‘Use four drops in tea, let him sip it give him 30 to 40 minutes, it will kick in.’

In another WhatsApp chat on 17 April, 2020, Miranda Sushi tells Rhea, “Hi, we’ve almost exhausted the stuff. Should we take from Shouvik’s friend, he has just hash and bud.” The ED also has call detail records of Rhea speaking to Jaya Saha several times on June 14, the day Sushant died. The first call was made at 2.37 pm, four minutes after Rhea got to know about Sushant’s death. Rhea called up Jaya the next day also, according to call detail records.

With more explosive information forthcoming, the Enforcement Directorate which had been investigating the money laundering angle in this case, has informed the NCB about the narcotics connection.

Questions are being raised whether MDMA and marijuana was being served in the parties that were being held in the apartment twice a week. Questions are being raised whether Rhea, Sushant and their friends were addicted to drugs.

One of the servants at Sushant’s flat has told investigators that marijuana was being served in the parties. The servant Niraj had told Mumbai Police that he offered cigarettes packed with marijuana to guests on June 11 from a special box kept for the purpose. On June 14, after Sushant’s death, this box was found empty.

And now, about the actual CBI probe into the actor’s death mystery. In my prime time show ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ on Tuesday night, we showed what Siddharth Pithani, Sushant’s manager, told the CBI sleuths in detail. His statement, to some extent, appears to be self-contradictory. His statement is leading to more confusions and speculations.

Pithani was the man who was the seniormost among the four people, including servants, staying in the apartment the day Sushant died. CBI questioned him for more than eleven hours, during which he gave many conflicting statements. On June 14, the day Sushant died, Pithani says, he came to his room between 10 and 10.30 am and started working on his computer system. Keshav the cook came and said that Sushant was not opening his bedroom door.

According to him, Sushant’s sister Mitu phoned him to tell that the actor was not answering her calls. Pithani says, he asked Mitu to come over, and sent another servant Dipesh to go to the watchman to call a locksmith. The watchman did not cooperate, and according to Pithani, he searched for a nearby locksmith on Google, traced Rafiq the locksmith. He rang up Rafiq at 1.06 pm, who demanded Rs 2,000 to open the lock with a duplicate key. Sidharth sent him the photo of the door lock and the actor’s address on WhatsApp. Pithani says, he conveyed this to Mitu too. At 1.20 pm, the locksmith came with a helper, and after checking the lock he said that the lock would have to be broken. The lock was broken. Within a few minutes, he broke the lock, collected Rs 2,000 and left with his helper.

According to Pithani, he and Dipesh entered the room which was dark. Dipesh switched on the lights, and Pithani says, he found Sushant hanging from the ceiling fan, with a green cloth tied around his neck. His legs were hanging loose near the bed, he said. Both were shocked on seeing this, Pithani rang up Mitu, told her about the incident, and asked her to come fast. Pithani rang up police on 108 and sought help.

The question now arises: why Pithani went up to loosen the body from the ceiling fan and laid it on the bed, even before the police came or Mitu arrived? Pithani told CBI that a call came from Sushant’s other sister Nitu Singh from Chandigarh, to whom he told about the incident. Pithani says, her husband O.P.Singh, a senior police officer, told him over phone to take down the body from the ceiling immediately and try to revive the actor. Pithani says, Nitu also told him to take down the body. Pithani asked Niraj to bring a kitchen knife, with which he cut the green cloth into pieces and lowered the body from the ceiling.

According to Pithani, the actor’s sister Mitu arrived soon after they laid the body on the bed. She asked whether Sushant was alive. She told them to straighten the body on the bed. Pithani says, he, Dipesh and Niraj straightened the body on the bed, loosened the green cloth tied around the neck and tried to provide CPR to the actor. There was no response of life from Sushant. By that time, Bandra police arrived on the scene, Pithani said.

Siddharth Pithani gave CBI details about how Rhea and Sushant’s sister used to quarrel often, how Sushant used to tell him about leaving acting and work on organic farming, how Sushant used to cry when his sister came to meet him and how Sushant was very much perturbed on hearing about his former manager Disha Salian’s suicide.

भारतीय जनता पार्टी के कद्दावर नेता अरुण जेटली ने अपनी मृत्यु से ठीक 18 दिन पहले 6 अगस्त 2019 को अपने फेसबुक पेज पर कांग्रेस के बारे में लिखा था। जेटली ने लिखा था, ‘कांग्रेस पार्टी एक हेडलेस चिकन की तरह है जो देश के लोगों से अब और भी दूर होती जा रही है। नया भारत बदल चुका है। केवल कांग्रेस इस बात को नहीं समझ पा रही है। लगता है कि कांग्रेस का नेतृत्व इस बात को लेकर कृतसंकल्प है कि वह अधोगति की ओर दौड़ में प्रथम आकर रहेगा। ‘

‘आकांक्षाओं से भरे भारतवासियों ने एक बार फिर साबित कर दिया है कि वे विकास चाहते हैं और एक ऐसा नेतृत्व चाहते हैं जो देश को सर्वोपरि मानता हो और जनता के लिए अथक प्रयास भी करता हो।‘ – लोकसभा चुनाव के नतीजे सामने आने के बाद 23 मई, 2019 को अरुण जेटली ने फेसबुक पर लिखा, ‘एस्पिरेशनल इंडिया राजसी, वंशवादी और जाति आधारित पार्टियों को स्वीकार नहीं करता । यहां नकली मुद्दे काम नहीं करते। अंतिम परिणाम उसी दिशा की ओर इशारा कर रहे हैं जो एग्जिट पोल के नतीजे बता रहें हैं। उन लोगों की जवाबदेही क्या है जिन्होने VVPAT मसले को उछालकर भारत के लोकतंत्र को घरेलू और अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर बदनाम किया? ”

20 मई 2019 को अरुण जेटली ने अपने फेसबुक पोस्ट में लिखा, ‘जाति से ऊपर उठकर और अपने परफॉर्मेंस से जुड़े मुद्दों पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने की प्रधानमंत्री मोदी की कार्यशैली को मतदाताओं के बीच कहीं ज्यादा स्वीकार्यता मिली है। मैं अतीत में कही गयी अपनी इस बात पर ज़ोर देकर फिर से कहना चाहूंगा कि कांग्रेस का ‘प्रथम परिवार’ पार्टी की पुश्तैनी थाती न रह कर गले में लटका पत्थर बनता जा रहा है।’

ये मेरे परम मित्र अरुण जेटली के शब्द थे। हम सबके अजीज अरुण जेटली को अलविदा कहे एक साल पूरा हो गया। पिछले साल जेटली हम सबको छोड़कर इस दुनिया से दूर चले गए। लेकिन करोड़ों लोगों के दिल में वो जैसे पहले रहते थे, वैसे आज भी हैं। मुझे तो आज भी यकीन नहीं होता कि अरूण जेटली अब हमारे बीच नहीं हैं। आज भी कई बार लगता है कि अभी फोन आएगा और दूसरी तरफ से आवाज आएगी…. पंडित जी कहां हो? कितने दिन हो गए….कोई खबर नहीं….क्या कहा जाए….कितना भी याद किया जाए…जाने वाले फिर कहां लौटकर आते हैं। उनके काम…उनकी बातें…उनकी आवाज….रह जाती हैं….जिसे लोग याद करते हैं। लोगों से, दोस्तों से, और यहां तक कि राजनीतिक विरोधियों से भी बर्ताव करने का उनका स्टाइल बिल्कुल अलग था।

अरुण जेटली कांग्रेस के कट्टर विरोधी थे, लेकिन कांग्रेसियों के दुश्मन नहीं थे। वे कांग्रेस के विचार का विरोध करते थे। जेटली ने कांग्रेस के नेताओं को कभी अपना राजनीतिक दुश्मन नहीं माना बल्कि उन्हें अपना राजनीतिक विरोधी मानते रहे। कांग्रेस के कई बड़े-बड़े नेताओं ने कई बार मुझसे कहा कि आज अरुण जी होते तो राजनीति में इतनी कड़वाहट न होती। सब पूछते हैं कि अब अगर बीजेपी में बात करनी हो तो किसके पास जाएं? किससे बात करें? कांग्रेस में ऐसे कई नेता हैं जो अरुण जी के व्यक्तिगत दोस्त थे और उनसे दिल खोलकर बातें करते थे।

अरुण जेटली अक्सर कहते थे कि कांग्रेस अतीत के बोझ से दबी है, इतिहास से सबक नहीं लेती है और इस चक्कर में इतिहास बन जाएगी। सोमवार को कांग्रेस के बड़े नेताओं के बीच जो कुछ भी राजनीतिक ड्रामेबाजी हुई उसे देखकर अरुण जेटली की बातें याद आती हैं। मुझे याद आ रहा है कि मेरे फ्रेंड अरुण जेटली के शब्द कैसे भविष्यवाणी करते थे। इस ब्लॉग के शुरुआत में मैंने उनकी लिखी बातों का उल्लेख किया है जो उन्होंने इस दुनिया से विदा लेने से कुछ दिनों पहले लिखा था।

अरुण जी की पहली पुण्यतिथि के दिन सोमवार को कांग्रेस के अंदर पार्टी अध्यक्ष के मुद्दे पर पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेताओं के बीच जमकर घमासान मचा। कांग्रेस कार्यसमिति की बैठक में सोनिया गांधी ने अंतरिम अध्यक्ष का पद छोड़ने की पेशकश की लेकिन डॉ. मनमोहन सिंह, एके एंटनी और अहमद पटेल जैसे सीनियर नेताओं ने उनसे अंतरिम अध्यक्ष पद पर बने रहने और आवश्यक बदलाव लाने का आग्रह किया। इस बैठक में गांधी परिवार के वफादारों ने उन ‘ ग्रुप ऑफ 23′ पर निशाना साधा जिन्होंने पार्टी अध्यक्ष पद को लेकर चिट्ठी लिखी थी। गांधी परिवार के वफादारों का कहना था कि इन लोगों ने सोनिया गांधी के स्वास्थ्य के प्रति संवेदनशीलता भी नहीं बरती। राहुल गांधी ने बैठक में कहा कि उन्हें इस चिट्ठी से काफी दुख पहुंचा। उन्होंने कहा, क्योंकि वह मेरी मां भी हैं और आपने हमला करने के लिए एक कमजोर वक्त को चुना। राहुल का कहना था कि सोनिया गांधी के अस्पताल में भर्ती होने के समय ही पार्टी नेतृत्व को लेकर पत्र क्यों भेजा गया था?

अब सवाल उठता है कि उस चिट्ठी में क्या लिखा था जिसे ‘ग्रुप ऑफ 23′, जिसपर जिसमें गुलाम नबी आज़ाद, आनंद शर्मा, कपिल सिब्बल, वीरप्पा मोइली, भूपिंदर सिंह हुड्डा, पृथ्वीराज चव्हाण, शशि थरूर, मुकुल वासनिक, जितिन प्रसाद, और अन्य ने साइन किया था। इन लोगों ने लिखा था कि पार्टी गिरावट की ओर जा रही और तत्काल सुधार की जरूरत है। इस चिट्ठी में फुल टाइम और एक्टिव अध्यक्ष बनाने की मांग की गई। एक ऐसा अध्यक्ष जो क्षेत्र के साथ ही राष्ट्रीय और राज्य पार्टी मुख्यालय स्तर पर भी एक्टिव रहे। पार्टी ऑर्गनाइजेशन में ऊपर से नीचे तक बदलाव की मांग भी की गई। चिट्ठी में CWC समेत सभी स्तरों पर पारदर्शी तरीके से चुनाव कराने और पार्टी को फिर से खड़ा करने के लिए कई योजनाएं बनाने की भी मांग की गई।

पार्टी के लिए नए पूर्णकालिक और हमेशा उपलब्ध रहनेवाले अध्यक्ष के चुनाव की मांग एक तरह से राहुल गांधी के नेतृत्व के लिए खुल्लमखुल्ला चुनौती थी । लेकिन ‘ग्रुप ऑफ 23′ की इस मांग को खारिज करके पार्टी आला कमान ने गांधी परिवार के खिलाफ बगावत को पनपने से पहले की कुचल कर रख दिया।

कांग्रेस कार्यसमिति ने सात घंटे तक इस मुद्दे पर चर्चा करने के बाद अंतत: एक कड़े संदेश के साथ सोनिया-राहुल के नेतृत्व के साये में चलने का फैसला किया। कार्यसमिति का स्पष्ट संदेश था-‘किसी को भी पार्टी और उसके नेतृत्व को कमजोर करने की इजाजत नहीं दी जाएगी। जब तक नए अध्यक्ष का फैसला नहीं हो जाता तब तक सोनिया गांधी पार्टी की अंतरिम अध्यक्ष बनी रहेंगी।‘ सोनिया गांधी ने भी अपने समापन भाषण में कहा- चिट्ठी लिखने वालों के प्रति उनके हृदय में कोई बैर भाव नहीं है। ‘मैं आहत हूं, लेकिन वे मेरे सहकर्मी हैं, बातें बीत गईं, हमें साथ मिलकर काम करना है।’

कार्यसमिति की बैठक में डॉ. मनमोहन सिंह द्वारा लाए गए प्रस्ताव में कहा गया, ‘ CWC ने सर्वसम्मति से सोनिया गांधी और राहुल गांधी के हाथों को हर संभव तरीके से मजबूत बनाने का संकल्प लिया है।’ पार्टी ने अगले 6 महीने में AICC का सत्र बुलाकर नए पार्टी अध्यक्ष का चुनाव होने तक सोनिया गांधी को अंतरिम अध्यक्ष बनाए रखने का फैसला किया।

जिस समय कांग्रेस कार्यसमिति की बैठक चल रही थी उसी समय सोशल मीडिया पर भी यह मामला गर्माया हुआ था। जैसे ही राहुल द्वारा ‘बीजेपी से मिलीभगत’ करने के आरोपों की खबरें सामने आईं उसके तुरंत बाद कपिल सिब्बल ने विरोध में ट्वीट किया और शाम को गुलाम नबी आजाद की प्रतिक्रिया भी सामने आई। यह कहा गया कि अगर राहुल ‘बीजेपी के साथ उनकी मिलीभगत’ साबित कर दें तो वे पार्टी के सभी पदों से इस्तीफा दे देंगे। गुलाम नबी आजाद ने तो वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के जरिए हो रही CWC की मीटिंग में ये बात कही, लेकिन कपिल सिब्बल ने यही बात जमाने के सामने कह दी और सीधे-सीधे राहुल गांधी का नाम लेकर कही। उन्होंने ट्वीटर पर लिखा ‘राजस्‍थान हाईकोर्ट में कांग्रेस पार्टी को सफलतापूर्वक डिफेंड किया’। मणिपुर में बीजेपी सरकार गिराने में पार्टी का बचाव किया। पिछले 30 साल में किसी मुद्दे पर बीजेपी के पक्ष में कोई बयान नहीं दिया लेकिन फिर भी हम ‘बीजेपी के साथ मिलीभगत कर रहे हैं?’ इसके बाद रणदीप सिंह सुरजेवाला ने तुरंत ट्वीट करके कहा कि राहुल ने ऐसी कोई बात नहीं कही लेकिन ये जरूरी है कि पार्टी में सब मिलकर चलें, मिलकर बीजेपी से लड़ें। इसके बाद कपिल सिब्बल ने एक और ट्वीट किया और लिखा कि राहुल गांधी ने खुद उन्हें बताया कि उन्होंने वो बात कभी नहीं कही, जो कही जा रही है। इसलिए मैं अपना ट्वीट वापस ले रहा हूं।

हालांकि बाद में गुलाम नबी आजाद ने पूरे मामले में अपनी तरफ से सफाई दी। आजाद ने कहा, ‘मीडिया में कहा जा रहा है कि CWC की मीटिंग में मैंने राहुल गांधी से कहा कि वो साबित करें कि जो पत्र हमने लिखा…वो बीजेपी की सांठगांठ से लिखा है। मैं साफ करना चाहता हूं कि राहुल गांधी ने न CWC की मीटिंग में और न ही बाहर ये कहा कि यह पत्र बीजेपी के इशारे पर लिखा गया है। कांग्रेस के कुछ लोगों ने कल लिखा था कि हम बीजेपी के इशारे पर ऐसा कर रहे हैं। यह बात उस संदर्भ में कही गई और मैंने कहा कि यह दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है कि CWC के बाहर हमारे कुछ सहयोगी इतना तक कह गए कि पत्र बीजेपी के इशारे पर भेजा गया था। ”

गुलाम नबी आजाद कोई आज के नेता नहीं हैं। इंदिरा गांधी की सरकार में मंत्री थे, राजीव गांधी की सरकार, नरसिम्हा राव और मनमोहन सिंह की सरकार में मंत्री रहे। कांग्रेस को देखने और समझने का उनको बहुत अनुभव है। मुझे ये कहने में कोई संकोच नहीं है कि राहुल गांधी उम्र और अनुभव में गुलाम नबी आजाद के सामने बच्चे हैं। कांग्रेस को जानने-समझने में और हर लिहाज से गुलाम नबी आजाद राहुल गांधी से मीलों आगे हैं।

गुलाम नबी आजाद आमतौर पर बहुत संभल कर बोलते हैं। कोई बात कहने से पहले कई बार सोचते हैं। इसलिए अगर गुलाम नबी आजाद ने सोनिया गांधी को चिट्ठी लिखी और पार्टी की भावना से अवगत कराया तो इसमें कोई गलत बात नहीं है। अगर सोनिया गांधी कुछ कहती हैं तो समझा जा सकता है, लेकिन अगर राहुल गांधी चिट्ठी लिखने के लिए गुलाम नबी आजाद पर बीजेपी से मिलीभगत का आरोप लगाएंगे, तो ये बात किसी के गले नहीं उतरेगी। गुलाम नबी आजाद की डिग्निटी और उनकी कमिटमेंट पर शक नहीं किया जा सकता। गुलाम नबी आजाद की तारीफ करनी पड़ेगी कि इतना सबकुछ होने के बाद भी उन्होंने सार्वजनिक तौर पर पार्टी के झगड़े को छुपाने की कोशिश की। ये उनका बड़प्पन है।

एक साल में कांग्रेस नया अध्यक्ष नहीं खोज पाई। हालत ऐसी है कि कांग्रेस के बड़े-बड़े नेता अब राहुल गांधी की सरपरस्ती में काम करने को तैयार नहीं हैं। उनका साफ-साफ कहना है कि बहुत हो गया अब और एक्सपेरीमेंट नहीं चलेंगे। या तो सोनिया गांधी कांग्रेस की अध्यक्ष के तौर पर बने रहें या फिर चुनाव के जरिए नया अध्यक्ष चुना जाए। क्योंकि अंतरिम व्यवस्था से पार्टी को नुकसान हो रहा है। हालांकि इन लोगों की आवाज सोमवार को उस वक्त दब गई जब पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री कमलनाथ के साथ तीन मुख्यमंत्रियों कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह, अशोक गहलोत और भूपेश बघेल ने खुलेआम मांग की कि पार्टी का नेतृत्व राहुल गांधी को सौंप दिया जाए।

सोमवार को दिन भर चले ड्रामे से एक बात सामने आई कि कांग्रेस के सीनियर और अनुभवी नेताओं को राहुल गांधी की कार्यशैली को लेकर शिकायत है। यह बात अब छिपी नहीं रह गई है। क्योंकि पिछले कई महीनों से और आज भी कांग्रेस के नेता सार्वजनिक रूप से इस बात को बोलने से डरते हैं।
आज भी कितने सारे कांग्रेस के नेता हैं जो कैमरे के बाहर कहते हैं कि राहुल के साथ काम करने में वे अंदर ही अंदर घुटन महसूस कर रहे हैं लेकिन ऊपर से उन्हें कहना पड़ता है कि राहुल गांधी को एक बार फिर से पार्टी का अध्यक्ष बन जाना चाहिए। उन्हें कहना पड़ता है कि सोनिया और राहुल गांधी के अलावा पार्टी को कई बचा नहीं सकता। जबकि मन में वो जानते हैं कि ये ठीक नहीं है। जिन 23 बड़े-बड़े नेताओं ने चिट्ठी लिखकर कह दिया कि पार्टी को निर्णायक नेतृत्व की जरुरत है, क्योंकि इन नेताओं को लगता है जिस तरह से राहुल गांधी नरेन्द्र मोदी पर हमला करते हैं, आधा सच आधा झूठ बोलते हैं, उससे कांग्रेस को काफी नुकसान हुआ है। लेकिन राहुल गांधी को किसी पर भरोसा नही है। उन्होंने कह दिया कि ये चिट्ठी बीजेपी के इशारे पर लिखी गई है।

पिछली CWC की मीटिंग में राहुल गांधी ने ये कह दिया कि पार्टी के कुछ नेता डरपोक हैं और वे नरेंद्र मोदी की आलोचना करने से डरते हैं। राहुल गांधी ने कहा कि वो अकेले ऐसे हैं जो नरेन्द्र मोदी से नहीं डरते। इस बात ने भी कांग्रेस के नेताओं को अंदर तक चोट पहुंचाई थी और इसके बाद ही पानी सिर से ऊपर हुआ। पिछली बार तो कांग्रेस के नेता कुछ नहीं बोले थे लेकिन इस बार कपिल सिब्बल ने करारा जवाब दिया। उन्होंने राहुल गांधी को गिनवा दिया कि उन्होंने कब -कब और कहां- कहां स्टैंड लिया है बीजेपी के खिलाफ। गुलाम नबी आजाद ने भी बीजेपी वाली बात पर नाराजगी जताई। ये अलग बात है कि राहुल गांधी ने इन नेताओं को फोन करके सफाई दी तब कहीं जाकर मामला शांत हुआ। आज किसी तरह बगावत की आग को ठंडा कर दिया गया। लेकिन मुझे लगता है कि इस गर्म राख के नीचे अभी चिंगारियां दबी हुई हैं।

“Aspirational India has proved it once again that India wants growth and a leadership that believes in country first & acts tirelessly for the people.
….Aspirational India does not accept Royalties, Dynasties and caste based parties. Fake issue don’t work. The final results point in the same direction as the exit polls. What is the accountability of those who were bringing a bad name to India’s democracy both domestically and internationally by raking up the VVPAT issue?” – Arun Jaitley in Facebook on May 23 ,2019 after the general election results were out.

“Prime Minister’s style of rising above caste & concentrating on performance related issues received far more acceptability with the electorate. I re-assert my earlier hypothesis that in the Congress the first family is no longer an asset but an albatross around neck of the Party.”- Arun Jaitley in Facebook on May 20, 2019

These were prophetic words by my friend, philosopher and guide Arun Jaitley, who passed away exactly one year ago. Even after a year, I find it difficult to reconcile with the fact that he has ceased to exist physically among us. His words still resonate in the ears of all those who were close to him. His personal style of dealing with people, friends and even political adversaries.

Yes, even political adversaries. Jaitley never considered the Congress leaders as his political enemies, he considered them only as political adversaries. He was always ready to offer sound advice even to his adversaries.

Jaitley used to say that the Congress party is burdened with its own past, it is unwilling to learn from history, and in the process, it is gradually fading into history. The drama that was enacted among the top leaders of Congress party on Monday, made me remember how my friend Jaitley’s words were prophetic. I have quoted some of his writings at the top of this blog, written days and weeks before he undertook his final journey.

On the day of Arun Ji’s first death anniversary, the top leadership of the Congress on Monday was witness to an unseemly tussle over the leadership issue. At the Congress working committee meeting, Sonia Gandhi offered to step down as interim president, but senior leaders like Dr Manmohan Singh, A K Antony and Ahmed Patel, urged her to continue as interim chief and bring about necessary changes. At the meeting, Gandhi family loyalists attacked the signatories to the letter from ‘Group of 23’ for being insensitive about Sonia Gandhi’s health. Rahul Gandhi said at the meeting that he was pained by the letter, “because she is also my mother and you chose to attack her at this weak moment.”

What was the letter that the ‘group of 23’ including Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma, Kapil Sibal, Veerappa Moily, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Prithviraj Chavan, Shashi Tharoor, Mukul Wasnik, Jitin Prasada, and others had written? They had written that the party was now in a state of drift and decline and there was need for urgent correctives. They called for the election of a “full-time, visible and effective” leadership active in the field and available at national and state party headquarters. The signatories also called for elections at all levels, including CWC, in a transparent manner.

Calling for the party to elect a new “full-time, visible” president amounted to mounting a challenge to Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. Expectedly, the party high command crushed this show of dissent against the Gandhi family on Monday, by rallying around Sonia and Rahul, and rejected the demand for change put forward by the group of 23.

The working committee that discussed the issue for seven hours ultimately decided to continue with the Sonia-Rahul leadership with a stern message that “no one will be permitted to undermine or weaken the party and its leadership at this juncture.” In her closing remarks, Sonia Gandhi said she held no “ill-will” towards the letter writers. “I am hurt, but they are my colleagues, bygones are bygones, let us work together.”

The working committee resolution moved by Dr Manmohan Singh, said, “The CWC…unanimously resolved to strengthen the hands of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in every possible way”. The party decided to continue with Sonia Gandhi as interim president till an AICC session was called in six months, to launch the search for a new party chief.

As the working committee meeting was on, there was fireworks going on in the social media, when reports of Rahul accusing the dissenters of “colluding with BJP” surfaced and were followed by another alleging that Ghulam Nabi Aad has offered to resign if Rahul could “prove his involvement with BJP”. Senior leader Kapil Sibal, posted an angry tweet on Twitter but later withdrew saying that Rahul personally told him he never made such a remark.

Gulam Nabi Azad later said, “let me make it very clear that Rahul Gandhi at no point of time has said, either outside or in the CWC meeting, that the letter was written at the instance, or at the behest or in collusion with the BJP. Some Congress persons wrote yesterday that we are doing this at the behest of BJP. It is in that reference that I said that it is most unfortunate that some of our colleagues outside the CWC had gone to the extent of saying that the letter was sent at the behest of BJP.”

Ghulam Nabi Azad is not a new generation leader. He has worked as minister under Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Narasimha Rao and Dr. Manmohan Singh. He has a vast experience about party matters. I have no hesitation in saying that Rahul Gandhi stands nowhere in comparison with Azad in terms of experience. Azad is leagues ahead compared to Rahul as far as managing a party is concerned.

Azad is always careful when he speaks. He thinks several times before opening his mouth. If Azad, along with others, writes a letter to Sonia Gandhi, it means he is trying to convey the sentiments of his partymen after careful consideration. There is nothing wrong in it. One could have understood if Sonia Gandhi had reacted, but for Rahul to make a remark about “collusion with BJP” may not be palatable to a diehard Congressman. Even after being named by leaders from Rahul camp, Azad maintained his dignity and refused to join issue with them in public.

It is distressing when I find that the Congress as a party has failed to find a president for the last one year, and the situation has come to such a pass that senior party leaders are unwilling to work under Rahul Gandhi as party chief. Their words are blunt and clear: enough is enough, no more experiments. They are saying, either Sonia Gandhi agree to work as party president, or let the party elect its new president, because the interim process is hurting the party. These dissenters were however outnumbered on Monday, when three chief ministers Capt Amarinder Singh, Ashok Gehlot and Bhupesh Baghel, along with former CM Kamal Nath openly demanded that the party leadership be handed over to Rahul Gandhi.

One thing that emerges from Monday’s daylong drama is that senior, experienced Congress leaders have complaints about Rahul’s style of working. This has been evident not now, but for the last several months and yet the leaders are afraid of speaking out in public.

I know several Congress leaders who told me privately that they feel suffocated working with Rahul, but in public they have to express loyalty to his leadership. Their sense of desperation show when 23 of them jointly write a letter to the party chief. They feel that when Rahul makes personal attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, mixing truth with falsehood, it harms the party in the long run. But that does not matter the least to Rahul Gandhi. ऐक्टर सुशांत सिंह राजपूत की मौत के रहस्य की जांच करने वाले CBI अफसर पहले दिन से ही तेजी से काम करना शुरू कर चुके हैं। उन्होंने इस मामले की अलग-अलग ऐंगल से जांच करने के लिए शुक्रवार को खुद को 5 टीमों में बांटा। पहली टीम ने संदिग्धों से पूछताछ करने का काम शुरू कर दिया है, दूसरी टीम सभी सबूतों और दस्तावेजों की जांच करने में लगी है, तीसरी टीम का काम सबसे अहम है- यह पता लगाना कि क्या इसमें किसी तरह का फाउल प्ले या कवर अप हुआ है, चौथी टीम सुशांत के घर जाकर क्राइम सीन को रीक्रिएट करेगी, और फॉरेंसिक विशेषज्ञों की पांचवी टीम पोस्टमॉर्टम रिपोर्ट और विसरा रिपोर्ट की जांच करेगी। साथ ही यह टीम एक डमी टेस्ट भी कर सकती है।

पहली टीम उन 4 चश्मदीदों से पूछताछ करेगी जो सुशांत के बेडरूम का दरवाजा तोड़े जाने के वक्त वहां मौजूद थे। ये 4 चश्मदीद हैं- नीरज कुमार, दीपेश सावंत, केशव और सिद्धार्थ पिठानी। इनमें से पहले 3 सुशांत के घरेलू नौकर थे जबकि पिठानी उनका क्रिएटिव मैनेजर था। नीरज वह पहला शख्स है जिससे CBI ने शुक्रवार को पूछताछ की। उससे सुशांत के साथ हुई उनकी आखिरी बातचीत के बारे में पूछा गया जैसे कि अभिनेता ने आखिरी बार क्या खाया या पिया, दरवाजा खोलने की कोशिश किसने की, चाभी वाले को किसने बुलाया, पुलिस को सूचना किसने दी और दरवाजा खुलने पर उसने क्या देखा।

इंडिया टीवी के रिपोर्टर सचिन चौधरी ने ताला तोड़ने वाले रफीक से बात की, जिसने कहा कि उसे दोपहर करीब 1 बजे एक फोन आया था कि एक बेडरूम का ताला खोलना है। जब वह वहां गया, तो उसने कमरे के बाहर 3-4 लोगों को खड़े देखा। रफीक ने उन्हें बताया कि यह एक कंप्यूटराइज्ड लॉक है और इसे खोलने में कम से कम एक घंटा लगेगा। ‘वे लोग जल्दी में थे और उन्होंने मुझसे हथौड़े से ताला तोड़ने को कहा।’ रफीक ने कहा कि जवब वह ताला तोड़ रहा था, तो वे लोग यह सुनने की कोशिश कर रहे थे कि कमरे से कोई आवाज आ रही है या नहीं। उन्होंने उससे कहा कि अगर कमरे के अंदर सोया शख्स जाग जाता है तो वह ताले को तोड़ना बंद कर दे।

रफीक ने कहा कि जैसे ही उसने ताला तोड़ा, वहां मौजूद लोगों ने उससे अपने औजार समेटकर चले जाने को कहा। उसे कमरे के अंदर झांकने की इजाजत नहीं दी गई। रफीक ने कहा कि उसने तुरंत अपने औजार समेटे और वहां से चला गया। उसने कहा कि उसे एक घंटे के बाद मुंबई पुलिस का फोन आया जिन्होंने उसे अपने दफ्तर आने के लिए कहा। रफीक ने इंडिया टीवी से कहा, ‘मैं छठी मंजिल पर गया जहां ढेर सारे पुलिसवाले मौजूद थे। इसके बाद मुझे पता चला कि ऐक्टर सुशांत सिंह राजपूत की मौत हो गई है। उसने कहा, ‘जब मैं पहली बार फ्लैट में गया था तो मैंने वहां सुशांत की बहन को नहीं देखा था, लेकिन बाद में जब पुलिस मुझे फ्लैट में ले गई, तो वहां पर उनकी बहन मौजूद थीं।’ रफीक ने जोर देकर कहा कि उन्हें कमरे के अंदर देखने नहीं दिया गया था। उसने बताया, ‘पुलिस ने मुझे दो-तीन बार फोन किया, और मैंने उन्हें वही बात बताई। मुझे कमरे के अंदर कुछ भी देखने की इजाजत नहीं थी।’

सुशांत के परिजन 2 जायज सवाल उठा रहे हैं: दरवाजे का ताला टूटते ही चाभी वाले को वहां से क्यों भेज दिया गया? जब चाभी वाले को बुलाया गया तो सुशांत की बहन को इसकी जानकारी क्यों नहीं दी गई? सीबीआई को इन सवालों के जवाब तलाशने होंगे। CBI ने शुक्रवार को सुशांत के नौकर नीरज से पूछताछ की। इंडिया टीवी की रिपोर्टर प्रिया ने बाद में नीरज से पूछा कि उसने CBI अधिकारियों को क्या बताया।

नीरज ने कहा, ‘बॉस सुबह 6 बजे उठे थे, अच्छे मूड में थे, और वह छत पर टहले भी थे। मैंने उन्हें एक गिलास ठंडा पानी दिया। सर ने मुझसे पूछा कि क्या सब कुछ ठीक है। मैंने कहा, हां। वह खुशदिल लग रहे थे। फिर वह अपने बेडरूम में चले गए। सर के साथ यह मेरी आखिरी मुलाकात थी और मैं नीचे चला गया। कुक ने उनसे पूछा था कि वह नाश्ते के लिए क्या पसंद करेंगे। बॉस ने एक गिलास नारियल पानी और अनार का जूस लाने को कहा। शेफ ने उनके कमरे के अंदर जाकर ये चीजें दीं और वहां से चला गया। सुबह करीब 10.30 बजे शेफ ग्लास लेने के लिए गया, लेकिन दरवाजा अंदर से बंद था। जब सर घर पर होते थे तो आमतौर पर हम ही दरवाजा खोलते थे, लेकिन उस दिन दरवाजा अंदर से बंद था।’

नीरज ने आगे कहा, ‘हमने सोचा कि सर सो रहे होंगे, और हम उन्हें डिस्टर्ब नहीं करना चाहते थे। सिद्धार्थ ने, जो कि उस वक्त नीचे थे, सर को 2 बार कॉल किया लेकिन उन्होंने फोन नहीं उठाया। इसके बाद उन्होंने सर की बहन को फोन किया, जिन्होंने सिद्धार्थ से कहा कि वह सर को फोन करेंगी और यदि उन्होंने फिर भी फोन नहीं उठाया तो वह आ जाएंगी। उन्होंने सिद्धार्थ से किसी भी तरह दरवाजा खोलने के लिए कहा।’ नीरज के मुताबिक, CBI ने उनसे पूछा कि उन्होंने डुप्लीकेट चाभी से दरवाजा क्यों नहीं खोला। नीरज ने कहा, ‘मैंने उनसे कहा कि हमने चाभी खोजने की कोशिश की, लेकिन नाकाम रहे और फिर चाभी वाले को बुलाने का फैसला किया गया। चाभी वाला आया और उसने कहा कि ताला तोड़ने में सिर्फ 5 मिनट लगेंगे जबकि इसे चाभी से खोलने में कम से कम एक घंटा लग जाएगा। हमने उसे ताला तोड़ने के लिए कहा। जैसे ही ताला टूटा, हमने चाभी वाले से दरवाजा खुलने से पहले ही जाने के लिए कह दिया। इसके बाद हम अंदर दाखिल हुए।

नीरज ने कहा, ‘सबसे पहले सिद्धार्थ अंदर गए, उनके बाद दीपेश और सबसे बाद में मैं। केशव चाभी वाले को नीचे छोड़ने गया था। सुशांत की बॉडी देखकर सिद्धार्थ बुरी तरह घबरा गए और कमरे से बाहर निकल गए। हम भी यह सब देखकर स्तब्ध रह गए। हमारे दिमाग ने प्रैक्टिकली काम करना बंद कर दिया था। सर सीलिंग फैन से लटक रहे थे।’ यह तो वक्त ही बताएगा कि CBI नीरज के बयान पर किस हद तक भरोसा करती है। नीरज ने इंडिया टीवी से कहा, ‘रिया मैम घर का खर्च देख रही थीं क्योंकि वह सर के करीब थीं। रिया मैम हमें सर से ज्यादा ऑर्डर देती थीं। ज्यादातर कैश वही संभालती थीं। व्यावहारिक तौर पर वह हमारी मालकिन थीं। मैम ही सर को दवाएं देती थीं, हमने उन्हें कभी भी दवाई नहीं दीं। सर जब यूरोप गए थे तो ठीक थे, लेकिन वहां से वापस आने के बाद वह बीमार लग रहे थे।’

नीरज ने आगे कहा, ‘8 जून को लंच तैयार था, लेकिन रिया ने मुझे उनका सामान पैक करने के लिए कहा। मैंने 2 सूटकेस में उनके सामान पैक किए। उस दिन सर ने दोपहर का खाना खाने से यह कहते हुए इनकार कर दिया था कि उनका मूड ठीक नहीं है।’ नीरज ने यह भी कहा कि सुशांत ने उससे एक बार पूछा था कि क्या उसे फ्लैट के अंदर अजीब-सी आवाजें सुनाई देती हैं। इस पर उसने कहा था, हां, उसने भी कुछ अजीब आवाजें सुनी हैं। सुशांत ने तब उससे कहा कि वह अपने फार्महाउस में पूजा करवाएंगे।

CBI ने अब तक सुशांत के 3 सेलफोन, उनके लैपटॉप और उस मग को अपने कब्जे में ले लिया है जिसमें उन्होंने उस सुबह जूस पिया था। इसके अलावा सुशांत के कमरे की बेडशीट, कंबल और 13 एवं 14 जून के CCTV फुटेज भी CBI ने अपने कब्जे में लिए हैं। CBI अधिकारी सुशांत के फ्लैट पर जल्द ही क्राइम सीन को भी रीक्रिएट करेंगे। CBI सुशांत का पोस्टमॉर्टम करने वाले डॉक्टरों से भी पूछेगी कि विसरा रिपोर्ट में सुशांत के पेट में जूस की मौजूदगी क्यों नहीं दर्ज की गई, जबकि उनके नौकरों ने बताया कि उन्होंने उस सुबह एक ग्लास जूस लिया था। CBI को यह भी पता लगाना होगा कि ताला टूटते ही चाभी वाले को वहां से जाने के लिए क्यों कहा गया।

अभी तक सामने आए सभी बयान और सबूत यही इशारा कर रहे हैं कि सुशांत किसी फाइनेंशियल या प्रोफेशनल दिक्कत का सामना नहीं कर रहे थे, वह लोकप्रिय भी थे और पेशेवर तौर पर सफल भी, उनकी किसी से कोई दुश्मनी भी नहीं थी, और नेपोटिज्म की बात में भी कोई दम नहीं निकला। ऐसे में सवाल उठता है कि सुशांत की मौत के पीछे की वजह क्या थी? CBI को इन सभी सवालों के जवाब ठोस सबूतों के साथ देने होंगे, और यह कोई आसान काम नहीं है।

CBI sleuths investigating actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death mystery have gone into a fast mode right from Day One. On Friday, they divided themselves into five teams to tackle the case from different angles. The first team has begun work on questioning the suspects, the second team is busy examining all evidences and documents, the third one is handling the most vital one – exploring whether there was foul play or cover-up, the fourth team will go to Sushant’s apartment to recreate the scene at the time of his death, and the fifth team consisting of forensic experts is examining post mortem report, viscera report and may carry out a dummy test.
The first team will complete questioning of four eyewitnesses who were the only one who were present when the door of Sushant’s bedroom was broken – Niraj Kumar, Dipesh Sawant, Keshab and Siddharth Pithani. The first three are domestic helps and Pithani was Sushant’s creative manager staying with him.
Niraj was the first person who was questioned by CBI on Friday. He was asked about his last conversation with the actor, what the actor ate or drank for the last time, who tried to open the door, who called the locksmith, who informed the police and what he saw when the door was forced open.
India TV reporter Sachin Chaudhary spoke to the locksmith Rafiq, who said, he got a call at around 1 pm to come and open a bedroom lock. When he went there, he saw three or four persons present outside the room. Rafiq told them that it was a computerized lock and it would take at least an hour to open. “There were in a hurry and asked me to break open the lock with a hammer”. While hammering the lock, Rafiq said, the persons were trying to listen whether any sound was emanating from inside the room. They told him that if the person wakes up, he should stop breaking the lock.
Rafiq said, the moment he broke open the lock, the others told him to pack up his tools and leave. He was not allowed to peep inside. Rafiq said, he immediately picked up his tools and left. The locksmith said, he got a call from Mumbai police after an hour asking him to come to their office.
‘I went to the sixth floor and saw a lot of policemen there. It was then that I came to know that actor Sushant Singh Rajput has died’, he told India TV. ‘When I went to the flat the first time, I did not notice Sushant’s sister, but later when police took me to the flat, I saw the actor’s sister’, he added.
The locksmith emphatically said that he was not allowed to see the scene inside the room. “Police called me twice or thrice, and I told them the same thing. I was not allowed to see anything inside the room.”
Sushant’s family members are raising two valid questions: Why was the locksmith shooed out the moment the door lock was broken? Why was Sushant’s sister not informed when the locksmith was called? CBI will have to find out the answers.
Sushant’s help Neeraj was the first to be questioned by CBI on Friday. India TV reporter Priya later asked Neeraj what he told the CBI sleuths.
“Boss woke up early at 6, he was in a happy mood, and walked on the terrace. I gave him a glass of cold water. Sir asked me whether everything was fine. I said, yes. He was in a happy mood. He went to his bedroom. That was my last meeting with Sir and I went downstairs.
“The cook asked what he would like to have for breakfast. Boss asked a glass of coconut water and pomegranate juice. The chef served him inside the room and left. At around 10.30 am, the chef went to collect the glasses, but the door was locked from inside. We normally opened the handle ourselves when Sir was at home, but on that day, the door was locked from inside.
“We though Sir might be sleeping, we did not want to disturb him. Twenty minutes later, Siddharth, who was downstairs, rang up Sir two times on his phone, but he did not pick up. He then rang up Sir’s sister, who told him she would ring him up, and if he did not take the call, she would come over. She also told Sidharth to open the door anyhow.”
According to Neeraj, CBI official asked him why they did not open the door with a duplicate key.
Neeraj said, “I told them we tried to find the key, but could not, and then it was decided to call a locksmith. The locksmith came and said, the lock can be broke open within five minutes, but it would take at least an hour to open the lock with a key. We asked him to break upon the lock. The moment the lock was broke open, we told the locksmith to leave even before the door was opened. And then we entered.
”Siddharth was the first to enter, followed by Dipesh, and I was the last. Keshav had gone to see off the locksmith downstairs. Siddharth was horrified on seeing Sushant’s body, and rushed out. We also saw and we went numb. Our minds practically stopped working. Sir was hanging from the ceiling fan.“
Time will tell to what extent CBI will trust Neeraj’s statement.
Neeraj also told India TV: “Rhea Ma’am was looking after the household expenses, because she was close to Sir. Rhea Ma’am was giving us orders more than Sir. She was handling most of the cash. She was practically the ‘maalkin’ (owner) for us…..Ma’am used to give medicines to Sir, we never gave medicines. Sir was well when he had gone to Europe, but after his return he seemed to be unwell.”
Neeraj also said, “on June 8, lunch was ready, but Rhea asked him to pack up her belongings. He packed two suitcases for her. That day, Sir refused to have lunch, saying he was not in a good mood.” Neeraj also said, Sushant once asked him whether he heard strange voices inside the flat. He told him, yes, he has also hear some strange voices. Sushant then told him, that he would got a pooja done at his farmhouse.
CBI has till now taken possession of three of Sushant’s cellphones, his laptop, the mug in which he drank juice on that fateful morning, bedsheet and blanket from the scene and CCTV footages of June 13 and 14. CBI sleuths will be reconstructing the scene at the flat soon. CBI will also have to ask doctors who conducted the post mortem why presence of pomegranate juice was not shown in the viscera report, when the helps are saying that Sushant had a glass of juice.
CBI will also have to find out why the locksmith was hurriedly asked to leave the moment the door lock was broken. All the statements and evidences collected so far point out towards the fact that Sushant was no facing any financial or professional crisis, he was popular and professionally successful, he had no enmity whatsoever with anybody, and the nepotism angle that was thrown in now appears to be baseless.
Then what was the reason behind Sushant’s death? CBI will have to find a logical answer supported by concrete circumstantial evidence. This does not appear to be an easy job at this moment.

अभिनेता सुशांत सिंह राजपूत की मौत की जांच के लिए गुरुवार को एसपी नुपुर प्रसाद की अगुवाई में सीबीआई की टीम मुंबई पहुंची। इस टीम में सेंट्रल फॉरेंसिक साइंस लेबोरेट्री (सीएफएसएल) के 12 एक्सपर्ट्स भी शामिल हैं। सीबीआई के अधिकारियों ने शुक्रवार सुबह बांद्रा में मुंबई पुलिस के डीसीपी से मुलाकात कर सुशांत मामले से जुड़े सभी दस्तावेजों को अपने कब्जे में लिया। सीबीआई और मुंबई पुलिस के बीच किसी तरह का कम्युनिकेशन गैप न हो, कन्फ्यूजन न हो और बेहतर कोऑर्डीनेशन हो, इसके लिए सीबीआई की तरफ से डीआईजी रैंक के अफसर मोहम्मद शावेज हक को नोडल ऑफिसर बनाया गया है। वहीं महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने सेंट्रल जांच एजेंसी के साथ सहयोग और बेहतर कोऑर्डीनेशन के लिए डीसीपी अभिषेक त्रिमुखे को नोडल ऑफिसर नियुक्त किया है।

सुशांत मामले में सच का पता लगाना सीबीआई के लिए एक बड़ी चुनौती है। सुशांत की मौत के बाद 68 दिनों का वक्त गुजर चुका है। फिर भी सीबीआई अधिकारियों को उम्मीद है कि वे इस मामले की तह तक पहुंचेंगे। सुशांत की मौत को लेकर लोगों के मन में शंकाएं बहुत गहरी हैं और सवाल भी बहुत सारे हैं। अब तक इतने किस्म की थ्योरीज दी जा चुकी हैं, इतने सारे दावे किए जा चुके हैं कि अब किसी बात पर यकीन करना मुश्किल है। सबसे बड़ा सवाल है कि सुशांत ने आत्महत्या की…या उसका मर्डर हुआ? ये सवाल इसलिए उठा क्योंकि दावा किया जा रहा है कि सुशांत जिस कमरे में पंखे से लटका, वहां बेड और पंखे के बीच की ऊंचाई सुशांत की हाइट से कम है, तो फिर सुशांत फांसी कैसे लगा सकता है? कहा गया कि सुशांत के गले में जो निशान है वो उस कुर्ते के कपड़े का नहीं है, जिससे सुशांत की बॉडी लटकी मिली। किसी ने सुशांत की बॉडी को लटके नहीं देखा। इसलिए सीबीआई को सबसे पहले वे ठोस सबूत तलाशने होंगे जिनके आधार पर वह अदालत में इस सवाल का जवाब देगी कि सुशांत की मौत हत्या थी या फिर स्यूसाइड।

सीबीआई की टीम अच्छी तरह से प्लानिंग करके मुंबई पहुंची है कि इस केस में कैसे आगे बढ़ना है। सबसे पहले सीबीआई की टीम मुंबई पुलिस से सारी जानकारी और डॉक्यूमेंटस लेगी, इसके बाद अपनी जांच शुरू करेगी। जांच टीम केस डायरी, पंचनामा, ऑटोप्सी रिपोर्ट, सुशांत की पांच पर्सनल डायरी के साथ ही और भी कई महत्वपूर्ण दस्तावेजों की जांच करेगी। सीबीआई उन डॉक्टर्स से भी पूछताछ करेगी जिन डॉक्टर्स ने सुशांत की बॉडी का पोस्टमार्टम किया था। जांच टीम उस फ्लैट का मुआयना भी करेगी जिसमें सुशांत की मौत हुई। हालांकि, ये फ्लैट सुशांत ने किराए पर लिया हुआ था और अब इसमें से सामान भी शिफ्ट किया जा चुका है और फ्लैट बंद है। सीएफएसएल टीम को इस फ्लैट की सीलिंग की हाइट, बेड की हाइट, पंखे और मैट्रेसस के बीच की हाइट नापने से पता चलेगा कि क्या वाकई में उंचाई इतनी थी, जिसमें कोई शख्स फांसी पर लटक सकता है। इसलिए अंतिम नतीजे तक पहुंचना उतना आसान नहीं होगा जितनी उम्मीद की जा रही है।

इस बीच, सुशांत सिंह राजपूत मामले की जांच सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा सीबीआई को सौंपने के आदेश के बाद गुरुवार को महाराष्ट्र सरकार बैकफुट पर दिखी। सूत्रों की मानें तो सरकार अब सुशांत केस में सुप्रीम कोर्ट के सिंगल बेंच ऑर्डर के खिलाफ रिव्यू पिटीशन दाखिल नहीं करेगी। वरिष्ठ मंत्री छगन भुजबल ने कहा कि सुप्रीम कोर्ट का आदेश हमारे लिए सर आंखों पर। कोर्ट ने बोल दिया तो कोई अड़ंगा नहीं होगा । पूरी जांच सीबीआई करेगी, हम पूरा सहयोग करेंगे। महाराष्ट्र सरकार के एक और मंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे ने भी यही बात कही कि सीबीआई जांच करे, हमें कोई दिक्कत नहीं है, हम सहयोग करेंगे। वहीं महाराष्ट्र बीजेपी ने भी प्रदेश की गठबंधन सरकार को नसीहत दी है कि सुप्रीम कोर्ट में मुंहक़ी खा चुकी और पुलिस की किरकिरी करा चुकी ठाकरे सरकार इस संवेदनशील मुद्दे पर किसी तरह की राजनीति न करते हुए सीबीआई को सहयोग करे।

सुशांत सिंह राजपूत के केस में इतने किरदार हैं, इतनी स्क्रिप्ट है, इतनी अटकलें हैं, इतने सीन हैं, इतनी बातें हैं कि सीबीआई के लिए सबको समेटना आसान नहीं होगा। इसलिए अगर कोई ये उम्मीद कर रहा है कि अब सीबीआई ने जांच शुरू कर दी है और सारा सच दो-चार दिन में या एक-दो हफ्ते में सामने आ जाएगा तो वो गलत है। अभी तो शुरुआत हुई है, इसका नतीजा आने में वक्त लगेगा। इसलिए सुशांत मामले का सच जानने के लिए हम सबको धैर्य रखना होगा और सीबीआई को थोड़ा वक्त देने की जरूरत है। जबतक ऐसे ठोस सबूत नहीं मिल जाते जो अदालतों में ठहर सकें, तबतक कोई भी प्रोफेशनल जांचकर्ता नतीजों तक पहुंचने का जोखिम नहीं उठाएगा। पुलिस की जांच भावनाओं के आधार पर नहीं होती, उसके लिए सबूत चाहिए होते हैं और सबूत इकट्ठा करने में, उसे कोर्ट में पेश करने में और कोर्ट में अपनी बात मनवाने में बहुत वक्त लगता है।

सीबीआई तो मुंबई फिल्म इंडस्ट्री की एक्ट्रेस जिया खान की मौत के मामले की जांच 2013 से कर रही है। पुलिस ने इसे आत्महत्या का केस बताया था, लेकिन जिया की मां ने अदालत में कहा कि ये मर्डर था। इसी तरह नोएडा में एमिटी छात्र जस्टिन जॉन जेवियर की मौत 2009 में हुई थी। 18 साल के लड़के का शव स्वीमिंग पूल से मिला था। इसे पुलिस ने हादसा कहा, जबकि परिवारों वालों का कहना था कि जस्टिन की हत्या हुई है। सीबीआई 2010 से इस मामले की जांच कर रही है लेकिन ठोस सबूतों के अभाव में अभी तक किसी नतीजे तक नहीं पहुंची है। हम सभी को इसबार यह उम्मीद रखनी चाहिए कि सुशांत की मौत का रहस्य सीबीआई सुलझा लेगी।

A team of CBI officials led by SP Nupur Prasad along with 12 experts from Central Forensic Science Laboratory, landed in Mumbai on Thursday evening to probe the mystery behind Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. The CBI officials on Friday morning met the Mumbai Police DCP in Bandra to take possession of all documents related to the case. CBI DIG Mohammed Suvez Haque has been appointed nodal officer to ensure smooth coordination, while Mumbai Police DCP Abhishek Trimukhe has been appointed by the state government as nodal officer to extend cooperation to the central agency team.

CBI faces a big challenge in reaching at the bottom of truth. Already 68 days have passed, but CBI officials appear to be optimistic. There are too many theories floating around about how and why Sushant died. Some say that the marks on his neck do not match with that of his kurta, some say nobody saw Sushant’s body hanging from the ceiling fan, some say the bed was not so high for Sushant to hang himself from the ceiling. CBI will have to find hard evidences to convince any court about its conclusion – whether it was a suicide or murder.

The CBI team has reached Mumbai with a well-prepared plan as to how to move ahead. The team will have to examine the case diary, panchnama, autopsy report, Sushant’s five personal diaries and several other vital documents. The team will have to question doctors who carried out post mortem examination of the body. Sushant was living in a rented apartment, and by now, most of the household items have been removed. The apartment is however locked at present. The CFSL team will have to examine the heights of the bed, the ceiling fan and the mattresses. Arriving at a final conclusion will not be as easy as is being expected.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government, according to sources, has decided not to seek review of the Supreme Court single bench order. Senior minister Chhagan Bhujbal has said that the state government will respect the SC verdict and extend cooperation to the CBI team. Another minister Eknath Shinde also spoke in the same vein. The Maharashtra BJP has asked the coalition government to extend all cooperation without indulging in any form of politics over this sensitive issue.
The onus is now on CBI to untangle the maze of theories full with different scripts, sundry characters and varying scenarios. To expect CBI to reach a conclusion within a week or two will be too premature and the team may take a longer time. All those who are interested to know the truth must exercise patience and allow the CBI sleuths to work. Until and unless concrete evidences are collected, no professional investigator will take risk to jump to conclusions that cannot stand in courts.
CBI has been investigating actor Jiah Khan’s death mystery since 2013, when her mother alleged that she was murdered. Similarly, CBI could not reach a conclusion in the case of the death of an Amity student Justin John Xavier in 2009. The 18-year-old youth’s body was found inside a swimming pool. Local police said it was an accident, but his family alleged that he was killed. CBI has been probing this case for the last ten years and yet it could not reach a conclusion because of lack of concrete evidence. Let us all hope that Sushant’s death mystery will be unraveled this time.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा अभिनेता सुशांत सिंह राजपूत की मौत की सीबीआई जांच का आदेश देने के साथ ही अब देश की प्रमुख जांच एजेंसी इस मामले की तहकीकात करने के लिए तैयार है। जस्टिस हृषिकेश रॉय की सिंगल जज बेंच ने संविधान के अनुच्छेद 142 का इस्तेमाल करते हुए इस मामले की जांच सीबीआई को सौंपने का आदेश दिया, और इस तरह मुंबई पुलिस और बिहार पुलिस के बीच चल रही गंभीर तनातनी का अंत हो गया।

अपने प्राइम टाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में बुधवार की रात मैंने बिहार पुलिस के महानिदेशक गुप्तेश्वर पांडे का लाइव इंटरव्यू किया और मैंने उनसे पूछा कि वह इस मामले में पर्सनल इंटेरेस्ट क्यों ले रहे हैं। उनका जवाब सिंपल था: सुशांत बिहार का बेटा था। पूरे हिंदुस्तान की शान था। आप देख लीजिए निष्पक्ष भाव से बोल रहा हूं। ये सिर्फ बिहार के 12 करोड़ के आवाम की बात नहीं है। आज कन्याकुमारी से लेकर कश्मीर तक और बंगाल से लेकर गुजरात तक किस कदर से लोगों का इमोशन जुड़ गया।’

डीजीपी ने पूरा मामला बताया कि कैसे वह सुशांत की मौत के अगले दिन बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री की ओर से शोक संवेदना लेकर सुशांत के पिता कमल किशोर सिंह से मिलने के लिए गए। गुप्तेश्वर पांडे ने कहा, ‘पहला दिन, जिस दिन मुंबई में ये घटना हुई, यह सूचना जैसे आती है, कौन आदमी है जो वहां गया? पहला आदमी मैं हूं जो वहां मिलने गया था। माननीय मुख्यमंत्री की शोक संवेदना लेकर गया था। मैं उस बूढ़े बीमार, लाचार, हताश आदमी को देख रहा था। मुझे लग रहा था कि कहीं ये आदमी, मैं सुशांत के पिता के बारे में कह रहा हूं, मुझे लगा कि कहीं ये आदमी अब आत्महत्या न कर ले। जिसके जीवन में कोई रोशनी नहीं है, जीने का कोई मकसद नहीं है। पत्नी पहले ही मर चुकी है, बेटियों की शादी हो चुकी है, पूरे परिवार में एक बेटा और एक बाप। माननीय सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने फैसले में इसका जिक्र किया है। मैं आधा घंटा बैठा, वह यही बोलते रहे कि मेरा सबकुछ खतम हो गया। अब तो जीने का कोई मतलब नहीं है। ये देख के मेरा कलेजा छलनी हो गया। मैंने सबसे पहले मुंबई पुलिस कमिश्नर को फोन लगाया। उन्होंने फोन नहीं लिया। उस समय तो हमलोग तो यही जानते थे कि यह सूसाइड का मामला है। मैंने फिर से पुलिस कमिश्नर से संपर्क करने की कोशिश की, मैंने खुद को इंट्रोड्यूस किया और पूछा कि सुशांत केस के बारे में जानना चाहता हूं, लेकिन उन्होंने जवाब नहीं दिया। मेरे मन में उस समय से शक होने लगा।’

मैंने दूसरा सवाल किया कि अगर आपने मोर्चा नहीं खोला होता तो रिया चक्रवर्ती इस तरह से शक के घेरे में नहीं आती, गुप्तेश्वर पांडे ने कहा, ‘शक के घेरे में वह अपनी वजह से है। जब ये घटना होती है तो वह खुद ट्वीट करती है और भारत के गृह मंत्री से ये मांग करती हैं कि इस मामले का सीबीआई अनुसंधान करे। अब बिहार पुलिस जब जाती है, हम विभिन्न सूत्रों और चैनलों के जरिए उनतक सूचना देते हैं कि आप जरा आकर के हमारे पास भी अपनी बात रखिए। हमको बताइये कि आप कैसे निर्देष हैं। आप पर ये-ये आरोप लगे हैं। बार-बार विभिन्न सूत्रों और चैनल के माध्यम से अनुरोध, अनुनय, विनय के बाद भी वो आने से इनकार करती हैं। तो वो खुद सीबीआई की मांग भी करती हैं और जब बिहार सरकार ने सीबीआई के लिए अनुशंसा कर दी और भारत सरकार ने बिहार सरकार की अनुशंसा मान ली तो अब वो सुप्रीम कोर्ट में मूव करती हैं कि नहीं-नही, बिहार पुलिस नहीं, ये मुंबई पुलिस को करना चाहिए।’

मैंने बिहार के डीजीपी से पूछा कि क्या सुशांत की मौत के 66 दिन बाद भी सीबीआई रहस्य पर से पर्दा उठा पाने में कामयाब होगी। उन्होंने जवाब दिया, ‘ईमानदारी से अगर बोलूं तो बहुत मुश्किल काम है यह। अगर स्थानीय पुलिस कोऑपरेट न करे तो यह बहुत बड़ा चैलेंज है। यह चैलेंज तो मेरे लिए भी था। मेरे लिए तो यहां एफआईआर करना भी चैलेंज था। मेरे लिए तो टीम बनाना भी चैलेंज था। मेरे लिए तो मुंबई में जाकर इन्वेस्टिगेशन करना भी चैलेंज था। और जब मुंबई पुलिस इसको अदालत में ले गई तो सर्वोच्च न्यायालय से यह फैसला हुआ, यह भी मेरे लिए बहुत बड़ा चैलेंज था। जीवन में इतनी बड़ी चुनौती मैंने कभी नहीं फेस की। तो उनके लिए भी चैलेंज है, सीबीआई के लिए बहुत बड़ा चैलेंज है। बहुत बड़ी चुनौती है, लेकिन चूंकि बहुत प्रोफेशनल एजेंसी है, मुझे पूरा विश्वास है, एक से एक उसमें दक्ष पदाधिकारी हैं, वे बहुत तरीके से अगर लगेंगे, थोड़ी मुश्किल होगी, थोड़ी कठिनाई होगी, लेकिन मुझे पूरा भरोसा है कि सत्य को कहीं से भी निकाल लेंगे, और सत्य प्रकट जरूर होगा।’

जब मैंने बताया कि रिया के वकील सतीश मानशिंदे ने मंगलवार को एक बयान में सुशांत की बहन के खिलाफ आरोप लगाए थे, तो बिहार के पुलिस प्रमुख ने कहा, ‘मैं रिया से यह अनुरोध करता हूं कि वह ऐसा न करें। पता नहीं कौन उनको सलाह दे रहा है। इससे उनकी मुश्किलें बढ़ जाएंगी। यह लीगल लड़ाई है, लीगल फ्रेमवर्क में रहकर और लीगल बैटल को लीगल बैटल की तरह कोर्ट में लड़ें। वह कभी न भूलें कि वह केस की नामजद एफआईआर अक्यूज्ड हैं। वह सस्पेक्ट नहीं हैं। तो इस तरह का स्टेटमेंट सोशल मीडिया में दे करके अपनी प्रतिष्ठा बचाने या बढ़ाने से उनको कोई लाभ नहीं होगा। उनपर एक आरोप है, यह लीगल लड़ाई है, वह सीबीआई को कोऑपरेट करें और लीगल लड़ाई को बिल्कुल लीगल तरीके से कोर्ट में लड़ें। बाहर उनकी बात अब कोई सुनने वाला नहीं है क्योंकि अब उनके खिलाफ बहुत तरह के संदेह का घेरा आम पब्लिक में हो गया है, मतलब पब्लिक परसेप्शन उनके खिलाफ है।’

मैंने पांडे से पूछा कि क्या उन्होंने अपने पूरे करियर में सुशांत की मौत जैसा कोई मामला देखा है। उन्होंने जवाब दिया: एक से एक भयंकर स्थितियों को मैंने देखा है, एक से एक जनसंहार देखे हैं। मध्य बिहार में रहा, नक्सल प्रभावित जिलों में एसपी रहा, लेकिन जो ट्वीस्ट, टर्न और मिस्ट्री इस केस में देखी मेरे जीवन का यह पहला अनुभव है। 33-34 साल के अपने करियर में मैंने इतना रहस्यमय केस नहीं देखा। मैं तो जनता का डीजीपी हूं। मैं तो सीधा आदमी हूं, इमोशनल आदमी हूं, गरीब का बेटा हूं, गांव से आता हूं, किसान का बेटा हूं, मुझे तो यहां जनता का डीजीपी बोलते हैं। मैं किसानों के परिवार से हूं, मैं अपने खानदान में पहला आदमी हूं जो स्कूल गया और मैट्रिक पास किया, बीए पास किया और इस नौकरी में आया। मेरे यहां होली में, दशहरा में, दीपावली में कौन आते हैं? आसपास के झुग्गी-झोपड़ी वाले, वही मेरे रिश्तेदार हैं, जिनके साथ मैं होली मनाता हूं, दीवाली मनाता हूं, दशहरा मनाता हूं। निष्पक्ष जांच के लिए सीबीआई पर भरोसा है।’

इस बात में कोई शक नहीं कि बिहार के पुलिस प्रमुख एक नो-नॉनसेंस ऑफिसर हैं और वह जब भी बोलते हैं तो खुलकर बोलते हैं। वह कभी भी तथ्यों को छिपाने की कोशिश नहीं करते। वह अक्सर भावुक हो जाते हैं, लेकिन उनकी भावनाएं एक पुलिस प्रमुख के तौर पर उनके काम के आड़े नहीं आतीं। यह सच है कि वह शुरू से ही इस मामले में व्यक्तिगत रुचि ले रहे थे और उन्होंने सुशांत के परिवार को न्याय दिलाने का वादा किया था। इसलिए सुप्रीम कोर्ट के फैसले पर उनका खुश होना लाजिमी है। कुछ लोगों को लगता है कि DGP सियासत कर रहे हैं, लेकिन उनके धाराप्रवाह बोलने और बेहतर ढंग से अपनी बात रखने को राजनीति नहीं समझा जाना चाहिए।

इस केस की जांच सीबीआई को देना इसलिए जरूरी था क्योंकि लोगों को मुंबई पुलिस की नीयत पर शक होने लगा था। जिस तरह से मुंबई पुलिस ने जल्दबाजी में सुशांत की मौत को खुदकुशी करार दे दिया, जिस तरह उसने मामले में FIR दर्ज नहीं की, जिस तरह से मुंबई पुलिस ने बिहार पुलिस को जांच से रोकने की कोशिश की, जैसे बिहार के एक आईपीएस अफसर को आधी रात को क्वॉरन्टीन कर दिया- इन सब बातों से दुनियाभर में लोगों को लगा कि जैसे मुंबई पुलिस पर कोई प्रेशर है, जो कि अपने प्रोफेशनल रवैये के लिए जानी जाती है।

अगर बिहार पुलिस ने इस मामले में FIR दर्ज नहीं की होती, और उसने अपनी पुलिस को जांच के लिए मुंबई नहीं भेजा होता, तो हो सकता है कि मुंबई पुलिस इस केस को आत्महत्या करार देकर बंद कर देती। लोगों को यह शक होने लगा था कि मुंबई पुलिस रिया चक्रवर्ती को बचाने की कोशिश कर रही है। ऐसे भी सवाल उठे कि क्या कोई राजनेता दोषियों को बचाने की कोशिश कर रहा है। एक तरह से सीबीआई जांच मुंबई पुलिस के लिए एक राहत की बात है, क्योंकि इतने सवालों के उठने के बाद यदि उसने सही से भी जांच की होती तो लोगों के मन में शंका रह जाती।

इस मुद्दे के राजनीतिकरण के मसले पर मैं एक बात साफ करना चाहता हूं। सारे राजनेता जानते हैं कि सुशांत की मौत को लेकर सारी दुनिया में इमोशन है और लोग सच्चाई जानना चाहते हैं। जो राजनेता ये कह रहे हैं कि इस मुद्दे पर सियासत नहीं होनी चाहिए, असल में वे सबके सब इस मामले में राजनीति कर रहे हैं। चाहे वह बीजेपी हो, जेडीयू हो, कांग्रेस हो, शिवसेना हो या एनसीपी हो, ये सभी पार्टियां एक अभिनेता की मौत के इस मामले पर राजनीति कर रही हैं।

नारायण राणे और नितेश राणे जैसे राजनेताओं ने इस मामले में खुलकर आदित्य ठाकरे का नाम लिया, और नीतेश राणे ने तो ट्वीट भी किया, ‘अब बेबी पेंगुइन तो गियो! ’। चूंकि आदित्य ठाकरे एक मंत्री हैं, और मुख्यमंत्री के बेटे हैं, इसलिए उन्हें सफाई भी देनी पड़ रही है और मुंबई पुलिस के रुख को इसी से जोड़ कर देखा गया। जब महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने सीबीआई को जांच सौंपने का विरोध किया, तो बीजेपी और जेडी (यू) ने इसका फायदा उठाया और इसे बिहार की प्रतिष्ठा का मुद्दा बना दिया। शिवसेना इसलिए परेशान है क्योंकि आदित्य ठाकरे मुख्यमंत्री के बेटे हैं, और पार्टी नहीं चाहती कि उनकी छवि धूमिल हो। शिवसेना को बीजेपी या जेडी (यू) के बिहार में नफे या नुकसान की बिल्कुल भी चिंता नहीं है। शिवसेना इस बात से चिंतित हैं कि यदि सीबीआई आदित्य ठाकरे को इस मामले में पूछताछ के लिए बुलाती है तो इस मामले को कैसे संभाला जाएगा।

With the Supreme Court ordering a CBI probe into the mysterious death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the stage is now set for the nation’s premier investigation agency to begin its probe. The single judge bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy invoked Article 142 of the Constitution to hand over the probe to CBI, thus ending a bitter tussle between Mumbai Police and Bihar Police.

In my prime time show ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ on Wednesday night, I did a live interview with Bihar Director General of Police Gupteshwar Pandey and asked him why he was taking personal interest in this case. His reply was simple: “Sushant was ‘Bihar ka beta’. Not only 12 crore people of Bihar, but people from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Bengal to Gujarat were emotional over the death of their actor.”

The state police chief narrated how he went to meet Sushant’s father Kamal Kishore Singh the day after the actor’s death to convey condolence on behalf of Bihar chief minister. “The 74 year old man was completely heart broken. He was only saying ‘I have lost everything’. I feared whether the father may not commit suicide like Sushant. The next day I rang up Mumbai Police commissioner, but he did not take my call. I sent message to him requesting him to probe, but he did not respond. It was then that I began suspecting.”

My next question was, why as state police chief he had suspicions about Rhea Chakraborty. Pandey replied: “Rhea is facing the needle of suspicion because of her own behaviour. In the beginning, she tweeted to the Union Home Minister seeking a CBI probe, but when we requested the CBI to probe, she opposed and said she had faith in the probe by Mumbai Police.”

I asked the Bihar DGP whether CBI will succeed in unravelling the mystery 66 days after the actor’s death. His reply was: “To be honest, it is a difficult job. If the local police does not cooperate, then it will be a big challenge for CBI. Since it is a professional agency having the best of officers, I believe they will succeed in unravelling the truth from somewhere.”

When I pointed out that Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde in a statement on Tuesday had levelled allegations against Sushant’s sister, the Bihar Police chief says: “I will request Rhea not to take this course. I don’t know who is advising her. She will face more trouble if she makes such allegations through social media. She is not a suspect, she is the named accused. She must fight the legal battle in court in a legal manner and cooperate with CBI. Nobody is going to listen to her allegations outside.”

I asked Pandey whether he had seen any such case like Sushant’s death in his entire career. He replied: “In my 34 -year-long career, I handled several cases of massacre in Naxalite-infested districts as SP, but I never saw a case with so many twists, turns and mysteries. I am ‘janata ka DGP’. I come from a family of farmers, a family where I was the first to pass Matric, BA and then joined the police. During Holi and Diwali every year, people from nearby slums come to celebrate the festivals with me. I have full faith in CBI.”

No doubt, the Bihar police chief is a no-nonsense officer who does not minces his words when he speaks. He never tries to obfuscate and conceal facts. He often becomes emotional, but his emotions does not come in the way he functions as a police chief. It is a fact that he was taking personal interest in this case from the beginning and had promised to give justice to Sushant’s family. He was naturally elated after the Supreme Court gave its verdict. Some people suspect that the DGP is indulging in politics, but his manner of speaking without any compunctions must not be taken as part of any political gambit.

Handing over the probe to CBI was essential because people had started suspecting the role of Mumbai Police. The manner in which Mumbai Police declared the actor’s death as suicide in a hurry, the non-filing of FIR till date, the questionable manner in which Mumbai Police tried to stop Bihar Police from investigating, the midnight quarantine of an IPS officer from Bihar – all these indicated towards some sort of pressure being put on Mumbai Police, known for its professionalism.

Had the Bihar Police not registered an FIR, had it not sent its police to Mumbai to investigate, Mumbai Police would, by now, have closed this case declaring it as a suicide. People had started suspecting that Mumbai Police was trying to shield Rhea Chakraborty. Questions were raised whether any politician was trying to protect the culprits. In a way, the CBI probe has come as a welcome relief for Mumbai Police, because people would still have suspected if it had resumed investigation properly.

On politicizing this issue, I want to make one thing clear. All politicians know that there are too much emotions over Sushant’s death and people want to know the truth. Politicians who are saying that this issue must not be politicized, are themselves trying to grind their political axe. Whether it is BJP, or JD(U), or Congress, or Shiv Sena or NCP, all these parties are playing politics over this case of an actor’s death.

Politicians like Narayan Rane and Nitesh Rane openly named Aditya Thackeray in this case, with Nitesh Rane even tweeting “Ab Baby Penguin Toh Giyo !”. Since Aditya Thackeray is a minister, and the Chief Minister’s son, he had to give clarifications and Mumbai Police’s role is being viewed from this prism. When Maharashtra government opposed handing over the probe to CBI, BJP and JD(U) took advantage and made it an issue of Bihar’s prestige. Shiv Sena is worried because Aditya Thackeray is the chief minister’s son, and the party does not want his image to be dented. Shiv Sena is not worried at all about BJP or JD(U) taking advantage in Bihar. It is worried over how to handle the matter when CBI summons Aditya Thackeray for questioning in this case.

ऐक्टर सुशांत सिंह राजपूत के परिवार को मिली एक बड़ी जीत में सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने बुधवार को जांच को बिहार से मुंबई ट्रांसफर करने की रिया चक्रवर्ती की याचिका को खारिज कर दिया और सीबीआई को मामले की जांच करने का निर्देश दिया। इसके साथ ही कोर्ट ने मुंबई पुलिस से कहा कि वह सीबीआई को अब तक इकट्ठा किए गए सभी साक्ष्य सौंप दे।

शीर्ष अदालत ने माना कि बिहार सरकार के पास मामले की जांच को सीबीआई को ट्रांसफर करने का अधिकार है। जस्टिस हृषिकेश रॉय ने कहा कि यदि सुशांत सिंह राजपूत की मौत से संबंधित कोई अन्य मामला भी सामने आता है तो उसे भी जांच के लिए सीबीआई को ट्रांसफर करना होगा। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा, मुंबई पुलिस का क्षेत्राधिकार आपराधिक प्रक्रिया संहिता के तहत सीमित है और सीबीआई द्वारा की जा रही जांच वैध है। कोर्ट ने सुशांत के पिता के. के. सिंह की शिकायत के आधार पर पटना पुलिस द्वारा दर्ज की गई FIR को भी वैध माना।

इसके साथ ही अब मुंबई पुलिस, बिहार पुलिस और सीबीआई के बीच चल रही कानूनी रस्साकशी का अंत हो गया है। सीबीआई अब सुशांत की मौत की जांच करने के लिए स्वतंत्र है, हालांकि अब इस घटना को हुए 2 महीने से भी ज्यादा का वक्त बीत चुका है।

हम सबको उम्मीद करनी चाहिए कि अब सीबीआई द्वारा की जाने वाली जांच सही रुख अख्तियार करेगी। पिछले 2 महीनों से मुंबई पुलिस जिस तरह इस मामले को निपटा रही थी, उससे कई सवाल खड़े हो गए थे। इस मामले में पटना पुलिस के साथ-साथ बिहार के DGP गुप्तेश्वर पांडेय की तारीफ करनी चाहिए, जिन्होंने अपनी जांच टीम को मुंबई भेजा और पूरे इन्वेस्टिगेशन का रुख ही बदल दिया। मुंबई पुलिस और महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने बिहार पुलिस को जांच में शामिल होने से रोकने की पूरी कोशिश की थी। यहां तक कि उन्होंने मामले की जांच के लिए पहुंचे बिहार के एक वरिष्ठ आईपीएस अधिकारी को क्वॉरन्टीन भी कर दिया था।

दोनों राज्यों की पुलिस के बीच 2 महीने तक चली इस खींचतान के दौरान तमाम व्यक्तिगत हमले भी हुए जिनमें से कुछ निंदनीय थे। मंगलवार को रिया चक्रवर्ती के वकील सतीश मानशिंदे ने एक बयान जारी किया, जिसमें उन्होंने सुशांत की बहन प्रियंका पर यह आरोप लगाया कि पिछले साल अप्रैल में प्रियंका ने रिया के साथ छेड़छाड़ की कोशिश की थी।

सुप्रीम कोर्ट के फैसले से एक दिन पहले दिए गए इस बयान में रिया के वकील मानशिंदे ने कहा, ‘सुशांत फोन पर कई बार अपने परिवार को मुंबई छोड़ने के अपने फैसले के बारे में जानकारी दी थी और उनसे आकर मिलने के लिए कहा था। सुशांत के कई दिनों तक फोन करने और रोने के बाद उनकी बहन मीतू 8 जून 2020 को उनके साथ रहने के लिए तैयार हो गईं। इसी वजह से सुशांत ने रिया से कहा कि वह कुछ समय के लिए अपने माता-पिता के घर जाकर रहे।

बयान में कहा गया, ‘रिया खुद मानसिक तौर पर परेशान हो गई थी और उसे अक्सर पैनिक अटैक्स आते थे। सुशांत के व्यवहार ने उसकी परेशानियों को और बढ़ा दिया था। रिया अपने परिवार से मिलने जाना तो चाहती थी, लेकिन सुशांत की हालत देखकर खुद को रोके हुए थी। उसी दिन, 8 जून 2020 को, रिया ने डॉक्टर सुसान वॉकर के यहां खुद के लिए थेरेपी सेशन का अपॉइंटमेंट लिया और सुशांत से कहा कि वह इस थेरेपी के बाद घर से चली जाएगी। लेकिन सुशांत ने अपनी बहन मीतू के आने से पहले ही रिया को घर से चले जाने के लिए कहा। इस तरह रिया न चाहते हुए भी वहां से चली गई और सुशांत से कहा कि यदि उन्हें किसी तरह की जरूरत हो तो वह उसे या उसके भाई शौविक को बताएं।’

यह दावा इस तथ्य से बिल्कुल अलग है कि रिया ने झगड़े के उपरांत सुशांत का फ्लैट छोड़ने के बाद उनके नंबर को ब्लॉक कर दिया था। वकील के बयान में यह भी कहा गया है कि, ‘रिया न तो आदित्य ठाकरे को जानती है और न ही वह कभी उनसे मिली है। उसने फोन पर या अन्यथा उनसे कभी भी बात नहीं की है। हालांकि वह उन्हें शिवसेना के एक नेता के रूप में जानती है। वह डिनो मोरिया को जानती है और उनसे सोशली मिली भी है क्योंकि वह फिल्म इंडस्ट्री में उसके सीनियर हैं।’

आरोपों और प्रत्यारोपों को देखते हुए एक बात तो साफ है कि न तो वह सुशांत के परिजनों को पसंद करती थीं, और न तो सुशांत की जिंदगी और प्रॉपर्टी पर दखलअंदाजी के चलते रिया दिवंगत अभिनेता के परिजनों को पसंद थी। सुशांत का परिवार अभी भी अपने इस आरोप के साथ खड़ा है कि रिया और उसके घर के लोगों ने सुशांत के बैंक अकाउंट्स से 15 करोड़ रुपये निकाले हैं।

इस पूरे प्रकरण में सभी मुख्य किरदारों ने सुशांत की मौत के पीछे के कारणों को अपने व्यक्तिगत नजरिए से देखा है। फिर भी अभी तक यह एक रहस्य ही है कि क्या सुशांत ने आत्महत्या की, या उन्हें खुदकुशी के लिए मजबूर किया गया, या उनकी हत्या की गई।

अब एक बात तो साफ हो गई है कि रिया और सुशांत के परिवार के लोगों में झगड़ा चल रहा था और सुशांत बीच में फंस गए थे। अब यदि हम यह मान भी लें कि रिया और उसके घरवालों ने सुशांत के अकाउंट से पैसे उड़ाए हैं तो सवाल उठता है कि ऐसे में उनकी हत्या के पीछे क्या मकसद हो सकता है। दूसरा सवाल यह है कि मुंबई पुलिस ने जांच पूरी किए बिना ही इसे आत्महत्या कैसे घोषित कर दिया। एक सवाल यह भी है कि मुंबई पुलिस ने बिहार पुलिस को मामले की जांच क्यों नहीं करने दी और उनके साथ साक्ष्यों को साझा करने से इनकार क्यों कर दिया।

यह एक सच्चाई है कि किसी ने भी सुशांत के शव को पंखे से लटकते हुए नहीं देखा, और पुलिस के आने से पहले ही उनकी बॉडी बिस्तर पर रख दी गई थी। सवाल यह भी उठता है कि यदि सुशांत का करियर सफलता की राह पर आगे बढ़ रहा था और उनके परिवार से अच्छे रिश्ते थे तो उन्होंने आत्महत्या क्यों की?

लोग इन जरूरी सवालों के जवाब चाहते हैं। अब जबकि सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने सीबीआई को जांच के निर्देश दे दिए हैं, हम सबको उम्मीद है कि मामला जल्द ही एक तार्किक निष्कर्ष पर पहुंचेगा और सुशांत की मौत के पीछे के रहस्य पर से पर्दा उठेगा। इस पूरे मामले में मुंबई पुलिस की छवि को निश्चित रूप से एक धक्का लगा है और उसे जल्द से जल्द अपनी पुरानी प्रतिष्ठा हासिल करने की जरूरत है।
