Modi’s E-budget for New Digital India
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented on Tuesday a forward-looking budget that focusses more on developing infrastructure and, in the process, will definitely open more avenues for development, quality employment, and new job opportunities. Rs 7.5 lakh crore has been earmarked for capital investment on infrastructure like roads, railway, airports, ports, waterways and logistics.
The second major announcement was related to the arrival of digital currency. Reserve Bank of India will introduce digital currency this year itself, and all gains made on transfer of digital virtual assets will be taxed at 30 per cent, Sitharaman said. One per cent TDS will be levied on all digital currency transactions.
Thirdly, she decided not to give any more relief nor impose tax burden on income tax payers.
Fourthly, tax payers will be allowed to update their income tax returns within two years by paying an additional tax of 25-50 per cent on interest. This will be beneficial for income tax payers who have missed the deadline to file revised income tax return. However, they will not be able to use this facility if their updated return leads to lesser total tax liability or increase in income tax refund. A major loophole has been plugged by the Finance Minister, who announced that all black money seized during raids shall stand confiscated. Till now, tax evaders used to pay income tax liability and 30 per cent penalty on undisclosed cash seized during raids.
The fifth, and most important point, in this year’s Budget is that it has been prepared keeping in mind the overall strategy for creating a New India 25 years hence, when the nation will be celebrating 100 years of freedom. This will benefit farmers, youths, traders, industry and all other sectors of economy. The objective is to achieve ‘aatmanirbharta’ (self-reliance).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi described it as a “people-friendly and progressive” budget. “This budget has come with a new sense of confidence towards progress amidst a once-in-a-century calamity. The budget is full of more investments, more opportunities, more growth and more jobs”, he said.
The budget has kept a target of providing 60 lakh new jobs, 80 lakh new houses under PM Awas Yojana and piped water supply to 3.80 crore households during this financial year. The budget has also focussed on the farm sector, earmarking Rs 2.37 lakh crore on procurement of wheat and paddy. More than 1.67 crore farmers will get their procurement prices directly to their bank accounts.
Rs 1,400 crore has been earmarked for linking the Ken and Betwa rivers, pending since decades, to help irrigate the parched land of Bundelkhand, where farmers have been facing drought almost every year. The Budget also proposes to promote pesticide-free natural farming along the five kilometre wide stretch on the Ganga river bank.
Most of the political watchers were expecting a populist budget with big promises and lofty dreams in view of the crucial assembly elections in five states, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose not to tread that path. Modi chose not to pander to the sentiments of voters. Instead, he focussed on how to strengthen the economy. India’s economy today has registered a 9.2 per cent GDP growth rate, despite industry being badly hit during the Covid pandemic for the last two years. In essence, this Budget underlines the ‘neeti’ (policy) and ‘neeyat’ (intent) of this government.
Now a look at how the Opposition leaders reacted to the budget. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted: “Modi Government’s Zero Sum Budget. Nothing for salaried class, middle class, the poor and deprived, youth, farmers, MSMEs”. Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee tweeted: “BUDGET HAS ZERO FOR COMMON PEOPLE, WHO ARE GETTING CRUSHED BY UNEMPLOYMENT & INFLATION. GOVT IS LOST IN BIG WORDS SIGNIFYING NOTHING – A PEGASUS SPIN BUDGET.”
Samajwadi Party supremo tweeted: “jobs, businesses have collapsed..historic recession, lakhs have lost their jobs, ..incomes of common people have declined..they withdrew all savings from banks due to joblessness and illness..Now one more budget from BJP which will pinch everybody’s pickets.. the end of BJP’s dark age in UP has begun, UP kahe aaj ka, nahin chahiye Bhajapa”.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tweeted: “Farmers’ income have not doubled, no relief in tax for middle class, no relief for small industries, no jobs for youths, Only old ‘jumlas’ and attack on subsidies, this, in essence, is Modi’s budget”.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman replied to these criticisms, by saying, Rs 2.37 lakh procurement prices for paddy and wheat will be sent directly to the bank accounts of farmers, and nearly 60 lakh people will get jobs after Rs 7.5 lakh crore capital investment on highways, ports, airports, railway and logistics. In a counter-attack on Rahul Gandhi, Sitharaman said, “Rahul should see why youths are not getting jobs in Punjab and why farmers are still committing suicide in Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. People will not take Rahul seriously, if he gives frivolous reactions.”
If we start analyzing the Union Budget in a traditional manner, as was being done for decades, then we can surely say that it has not given any relief to middle class income tax payer, it has not lowered prices of commodities, farmers got nothing and no major announcement was made for job creation, but if one views this as a budget for a new, modern India, one can clearly see where it is headed.
The budget has focussed on seven growth engines, as Sitharaman said, based on PM Gati Shakti plan. Roads, railway, ports, airports, waterways, logistics infra and mass transport are these seven engines. This is Modi’s dream for India At 100, the year 2047, when India will complete 100 years of freedom from British rule. This has been described as “Amrit Kaal’ (The Age of Nectar) by Sitharaman, based on the current Amrit Mahotsav that the nation is celebrating after 75 years of freedom.
You will also find everything digital in this budget. The speech was given by Sitharaman in Lok Sabha, for the first time, on a digital iPad, instead of reading from a printed booklet. She spoke about digital education, digital university, digital health, digital Rupee, 5G for a digital telecom revolution, drones for mapping crops, organic farming near Ganga river, encouragement to startups, 400 Vande Bharat trains, ports, airports and highways, huge railway cargo terminals, etc.
These are the signs of India coming of age. Unless we progress on this front, we cannot take on the rest of the world in the field of post-modern industrialization and hi-tech agro farming. These projects envisage more jobs, more earnings, more exports, more FDIs – this is the image of a new, digital India in the making.
The Finance Minister has also announced the launch of new e-passports from this financial year. It will have embedded chips which will use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and biometrics to verify the identity of passport holders and will gradually replace traditional printed passports. Sitharaman also announced the launch of an e-university, named DESH-Stack portal, for online learning, which will be built on a hub and spoke model. The e-university will be set up in collaboration with various Indian universities.
This should be seen as a harbinger of a new India, based on Narendra Modi’s vision for the next 25 years. Had our rulers shown the same farsightedness soon after Independence and had they embarked on 25-year-long plans, the present state of economy could have been altogether different. We could have left others behind in the race towards progress.
मोदी ने यूपी के मतदाताओं से कहा- दबंगों को वापस न आने दें
चुनाव आयोग ने सोमवार को चुनाव में लगी पाबंदियों को 11 फरवरी तक बढ़ा दिया है। रोड शो, पदयात्रा, साइकिल रैली और जूलूस निकालने पर रोक फिलहाल जारी रहेगी। अब पब्लिक मीटिंग में ज्यादा से ज्यादा एक हज़ार लोग इकट्ठा हो सकेंगे लेकिन लोगों की संख्या के हिसाब से मैदान की क्षमता डबल होनी चाहिए। वहीं डोर-टू-डोर कैंपेन में भी 20 से ज्यादा लोग नहीं जा पाएंगे। चुनाव आयोग ने सारे राजनीतिक दलों और उम्मीदवारों से कहा है कि कोविड गाइडलाइंस का पालन करना जरूरी है वरना एक्शन लिया जाएगा। आयोग की पाबंदियों का असर पूरे चुनाव प्रचार पर दिखाई दे रहा है।
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी जो अक्सर अपनी चुनावी रैलियों में लाखों लोगों की भीड़ को संबोधित करते थे, सोमवार को उन्होंने वर्चुअल रैली की । पीएम मोदी ने पश्चिमी यूपी के मुजफ्फरनगर, शामली, बागपत, सहारनपुर और गौतमबुद्धनगर में 21 विधानसभा के मतदाताओं को वर्चुअली संबोधित किया। इन इलाकों में 100 जगहों पर एलईडी वैन और टीवी स्क्रीन लगाए गए थे।
प्रचार भले ही वर्चुअल था पर ना मोदी का अंदाज बदला और ना ही तेवर बदले। बीजेपी के सबसे बड़े प्रचारक नरेन्द्र मोदी ने विपक्ष और खासतौर से समाजवादी पार्टी पर जमकर निशाना साधा। उन्होंने उत्तर प्रदेश की जनता को योगी आदित्यनाथ और अखिलेश यादव की सरकारों के बीच का फर्क समझाया।
अखिलेश यादव का नाम लिए बिना मोदी ने कहा अखिलेश यादव ऐसे नेता हैं जो सोते रहते हैं और सिर्फ सपने देखते हैं। लेकिन योगी आदित्यनाथ ऐसे नेता हैं जो जागते हुए रहकर सारे काम पूरे करते हैं, सभी संकल्पों को पूरा करते हैं। इस वर्चुअल रैली को सीएम योगी आदित्यनाथ ने भी आगरा से संबोधित किया। हर लोकेशन पर 500 लोगों ने मोदी के भाषण को सुना। चूंकि कुल 100 जगहों पर एलईडी लगाए गए थे, इस तरह कुल मिलाकर 50 हजार लोगों ने मोदी की इस वर्चुअल रैली में हिस्सा लिया।
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने अपने भाषण में लॉ एंड ऑर्डर को लेकर अखिलेश यादव की पिछली सरकार को आड़े हाथों लिया। प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि पांच साल पहले तक यूपी की सरकार दबंग और माफिया नेता चला रहे थे। पीएम मोदी ने कहा-‘पांच साल पहले बाहुबलियों का कहा शब्द कानून था, उनका कहा ही शासन का आदेश था। पांच साल पहले- व्यापारी लुटता था, बेटी घर से बाहर निकलने में घबराती थी। माफिया, सरकारी संरक्षण में खुलेआम घूमते थे।’
पीएम मोदी ने कहा, ‘पश्चिमी यूपी के लोग कभी नहीं भूल सकते कि जब यह इलाका दंगों की आग में जल रहा था तो पहले वाली सरकार (सैफई में) उत्सव मना रही थी। पांच साल पहले- गरीब, दलित, वंचित, पिछड़ों के घर-ज़मीन-दुकान पर जबरन कब्ज़ा कर लिया गया था। लोगों के पलायन की खबरें आए दिन आती थीं। अपहरण, फिरौती और रंगदारी ने मध्यम वर्ग और व्यापारियों को तबाह करके रख दिया था। लेकिन पिछले पांच वर्षों में योगी सरकार उत्तर प्रदेश को इन हालातों से बाहर निकाल कर लाई है।
मोदी ने चेतावनी दी, ‘वही गैंगस्टर और माफिया नेता जो खुद को कानून से ऊपर मानते थे, अब सत्ता में वापस आना चाहते हैं। वे मौके की तलाश में हैं। हम यूपी में बदलाव के लिए खुद को खपा रहे हैं, वो आपसे बदला लेने की ठानकर बैठे हैं। बदला लेना ही हमेशा से उनकी सोच रही है। इसलिए मैं यह देखकर खुश हूं कि यूपी के लोग इन गैंगस्टर्स से बहुत सावधान और सतर्क हैं। यूपी की जनता हमारा काम और उनके कारनामे देखकर इस बार बीजेपी को भरपूर आशीर्वाद देने जा रही है। जो घंटों सोता रहता है उसे सिर्फ सपने आते हैं, जो जागता है वह संकल्प लेता है। योगी जी जागने वाले, संकल्प लेने वाले और उसे पूरा करनेवाले नेता हैं।’
मोदी ने कहा-‘डबल इंजन की सरकार डबल स्पीड से काम कर रही है’। उन्होंने कहा- अब यूपी में एक्सप्रेस-वे, हवाई अड्डों की संख्या डबल हो रही है। यूपी देश का एकमात्र राज्य है, जहां 5 शहरों में मेट्रो ट्रेनें दौड़ रही हैं। पिछली सरकार केवल कागजों पर आधी-अधूरी परियोजनाएं बनाने और उनके शिलान्यास में माहिर थी लेकिन हमारी सरकार डबल इंजन की सरकार सपने पूरे करती है।
मोदी ने दावा किया कि यूपी के नौजवान, फर्स्ट टाइम वोटर्स बीजेपी के साथ हैं क्योंकि युवा मतदादता भी समझ गए हैं कि उनका भविष्य कौन सुधार सकता है। उन्होंने कहा-‘एक तरफ बीजेपी है, जिसके पास विकास का विजन (दृष्टि) है, साफ सुथरा और ईमानदार नेतृत्व है और दूसरी ओर अहंकार से भरे, किसी भी तरह सत्ता पाने का सपना देख रहे, समाज को तोड़ने वाले लोग हैं। विजन के नाम पर इनके पास सिर्फ विरोध है। ये नकली समाजवादी हैं।’
नरेंद्र मोदी के भाषण से साफ है कि बीजेपी उत्तर प्रदेश की जनता को यह बताएगी कि अगर अखिलेश यादव की सरकार आई तो फिर से गुंडागर्दी होगी, दंगे-फसाद होंगे, अपराधी नेतागिरी करेंगे। क्योंकि अखिलेश यादव ने बड़ी संख्या में ऐसे अपराधियों, गैंगस्टर्स और माफिया को चुनाव मैदान में उतारा है, इनमें कुछ बेल पर हैं और कुछ जेल में हैं।
बीजेपी के चुनाव प्रचार का मुख्य जोर योगी आदित्यनाथ को एक ऐसे नेता के तौर पर पेश करना है जिन्होंने प्रदेश में कानून-व्यवस्था बहाल की। योगी के विरोधी भी इस बात को मानते हैं कि योगी सरकार ने अपराधियों और माफियाओं के दिलों में कानून का डर पैदा किया है।
योगी तो रोज कहते हैं कि अखिलेश की सरकार के जमाने में अपराधी और हिस्ट्रीशीटर थाने चलाते थे, माफिया जमीनों पर कब्जा करते थे लेकिन उनके राज में गुंडे तख्ती लटकाकर पुलिस के सामने सरेंडर करने लगे क्योंकि उन्हें इस बात का डर था कि कहीं मुठभेड़ में उनकी जान न चली जाए। वहीं माफिया नेताओं द्वारा अवैध रूप से बनाई गई सम्पत्तियों पर बुलडोजर भी चले।
एक हिसाब से बात सही है कि अगर यूपी का विकास करना है तो रोज-रोज के झगड़े नहीं चाहिए। शांति और कानून के राज के बिना लोगों के कल्याण की योजना लागू नहीं की जा सकती। नरेंद्र मोदी ने अपने भाषण में योगी सरकार की कल्याणकारी योजनाओं का जिक्र किया और कहा कि योगी के शासनकाल में लॉ एंड ऑर्डर अच्छा था, गैंगस्टर्स और भ्रष्ट माफिया नेताओं पर कार्रवाई हुई इसलिए विकास हो पाया। उन्होंने कहा कि योगी सरकार ने जितने काम किए हैं, उतने काम पहले कभी नहीं हुए।
पिछले पांच साल में योगी शासन के दौरान गरीबों के लिए 33 लाख मकान, ढाई करोड़ से ज्यादा शौचालय बनाए गए और गरीबों को इसका लाभ मिला। योगी सरकार का दावा है कि यूपी में करीब डेढ़ करोड़ गरीब परिवारों को मुफ्त बिजली कनेक्शन दिए गए। 1 करोड़ से ज्यादा लोगों को एक हज़ार रुपए प्रति माह की पेंशन और फ्री राशन दिए जा रहे हैं। राज्य में 4 लाख करोड़ से ज्यादा का निवेश आया है।
योगी जब लोगों को याद दिलाते हैं कि समाजवादी पार्टी ने ऐसे लोगों को टिकट दिए जिनके खिलाफ हत्या, अपहरण और दंगों के मामले चल रहे हैं तो अखिलेश कहते हैं कि सबसे ज्यादा केस तो योगी आदित्यनाथ के खिलाफ हैं। योगी ने सत्ता में आने के तुरंत बाद अपने खिलाफ सभी आपराधिक मुकदमों को वापस ले लिया । मैंने यह सवाल योगी आदित्यनाथ से इंडिया टीवी के ‘चुनाव मंच’ कार्यक्रम में इंटरव्यू के दौरान पूछा था, तब उन्होंने कहा कि उनके खिलाफ एक भी केस नहीं है। फिर मैंने याद दिलाया कि अखिलेश कहते हैं कि मुख्यमंत्री योगी ने अपने ऊपर दर्ज मामलों को वापस ले लिया। इस पर योगी ने तुरंत जवाब दिया कि उन्होंने अपने ऊपर लगे किसी केस को वापस नहीं लिया।
अखिलेश यादव ने सोमवार को आरोप लगाया कि बीजेपी ने 99 आपराधिक छवि वाले लोगों को टिकट दे दिया। दिलचस्प बात यह है कि न तो अखिलेश और न ही उनकी पार्टी के नेता पश्चिमी यूपी में नामी अपराधियों और गैंगस्टर्स को समाजवादी पार्टी द्वारा टिकट देने के मुद्दे पर कुछ बोलते हैं । ये ऐसे उम्मीदवार हैं जिनके खिलाफ हत्या के प्रयास, अपहरण और दंगों के केस लंबित हैं।
Modi to UP: Must not allow gangsters to come back
The Election Commission on Monday extended the ban on road shows, padyatra, cycle rallies and election meetings, but allowed gathering of up to 1,000 people at meetings, provided the ground should have double the space. Now, up to 20 people can join door-to-door campaign, by following Covid guidelines. The effect is there for all to see.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who used to address lakhs of people in his election rallies, had to address a virtual rally on Monday. LED vans and TV screens were set up at 100 locations to cover 21 assembly constituencies of western UP, including Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Baghpat, Saharanpur and Gautam Budh Nagar.
The rally was different in form, but the content was strikingly the same, as Modi lambasted the opposition, Samajwadi Party in particular, which has emerged as the main rival to BJP in UP. Modi told the voters the basic difference between Akhilesh Yadav’s governance and Yogi’s style of administration.
Without naming Akhilesh, Modi said, a leader who is used to sleep for long hours can dream, but Yogi stays awake and takes ‘sankalp’ (vow) to achieve his targets. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath joined this virtual rally from Agra. Up to 500 people watched Modi speech at each location, taking the total to 50,000.
In his speech, Narendra Modi reminded voters how ‘dabang’ (musclemen) and mafia leaders used to rule the state five years ago during Akhilesh Yadav’s rule. Modi said, “five years ago, the word of musclemen was law, they were above the law, traders were robbed and womenfolk feared to move out in the open, mafia leaders, under government patronage, used to move around freely.”
Modi said, “the people of western UP will never forget when there was communal violence in their areas, the ruling party was celebrating festival (in Saifai). Five years ago, the homes and lands of Dalits and downtrodden were forcibly occupied, there was massive exodus of people, kidnappings and extortions had made life hell for businessmen, but in the last five years, Yogi’s government has ensured law and order in the state.”
“The same gangsters and mafia leaders”, Modi warned, “now want to come back to power and they have been given tickets to contest elections. These gangsters are waiting for this opportunity to make a comeback. They want to take revenge. I am happy to see that the people of this region are now wary of such gangsters. The people of UP are going to bless the BJP again, after watching our work (kaam) and their misdeeds (kaarnaama)”. Those who sleep for long hours, can only watch dreams, but Yogi is a leader who stays awake, take vows (Sankalp) and fulfils them.”
“The double engine government is working at double speed”, Modi said, “expressways in UP are now being doubled, number of airports in UP have now doubled, UP is the only state where there are five Metros running in cities, the previous government only used to chalk out projects, but our government completes projects.”
Modi claimed that the first-time young voters of UP are supporting the BJP because they understand which party can nurture their future. “BJP has the vision and leadership, and on the other side, there are leaders full of arrogance, who sell dreams and divide the society. In the name of vision, they know only how to oppose. They are fake Samajwadis (socialists).”
Modi’s speech has given a clear message to the voters of UP: If Akhilesh Yadav returns to power, mafia leaders and gangsters will rule the roost. Akhilesh Yadav’s party has given tickets to many such criminals, gangsters and mafia leaders, against whom there are criminal cases pending.
The main thrust of BJP’s campaign is to project Yogi Adityanath as a leader, who has ensured law and order in UP. Even his rivals agree that Yogi has struck the terror of law in the minds of criminals and gangsters.
Yogi has been saying, day in and day out, at his meetings that history sheeters and criminals used to run the show at police stations and forcibly occupy land. It was only during his rule that criminals, wearing placards around the neck, come to police stations to surrender, because they fear they may lose their life in encounters. It was during Yogi’s rule that bulldozers were used to raze illegal properties built by mafia leaders.
It is true that if Uttar Pradesh wants to march on the path to progress, it needs peace and law and order. Only then can social welfare schemes for the poor and downtrodden can be implemented properly. In his speech, Modi mentioned the large number of welfare schemes implemented by Yogi’s government. This would not have been possible if the gangsters and corrupt mafia leaders were not brought to book.
During the last five years of Yogi’s rule, 33 lakh houses and more than 2.5 crore toilets were built, and poor people were the beneficiaries. Yogi claims, his government gave 1.5 crore free electricity connections to poor families and more than a crore beneficiaries are getting Rs 1000 per month pension along with free ration. More than Rs 4 lakh crore worth investments were made in the state.
Akhilesh Yadav, while countering Yogi’s charges about SP giving tickets to criminals, has been alleging that it was Yogi who withdrew all criminal cases filed against him, soon after coming to power. I asked Yogi Adityanath while interviewing him for ‘Chunav Manch’. Yogi emphatically said, he did not withdraw any criminal case against himself.
On Monday, Akhilesh Yadav alleged that BJP has given tickets to 99 candidates who had criminal background. The only interesting part is that neither Akhilesh Yadav nor his party leaders speak about SP tickets given to known criminals and gangsters in western UP. These are candidates against whom cases of attempt to murder, kidnappings and riots are pending.
देश के युवाओं के नाम, नरेन्द्र मोदी का आह्वान
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी शुक्रवार को दिल्ली कैंट में एनसीसी कैडेट्स की सलामी परेड में बिल्कुल अलग रंग में दिखे। उन्होंने हरे रंग की पगड़ी पहनी थी। अपने भाषण में मोदी ने कहा कि उन्हें इस बात पर गर्व है कि वो भी अपने स्कूल के दिनों में एनसीसी के एक्टिव कैडेट रहे और उन्हें जो ट्रेनिंग मिली, जो जानने-सीखने को मिला उसने उनके अंदर राष्ट्र धर्म और देश सेवा की भावना को विकसित करने में बड़ी भूमिका निभाई।
प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कहा-‘राष्ट्रधर्म से बड़ा कोई धर्म नहीं हैं। राष्ट्रभक्ति से बड़ी कोई भक्ति नहीं हैं और राष्ट्र सेवा से बड़ी कोई सेवा नहीं हैं। मोदी ने ये भी बताया कि आप राष्ट्रधर्म कैसे निभा सकते हैं और देश की सेवा कैसे कर सकते हैं।’ उन्होंने कहा-एनसीसी के दिनों में उन्हें जो ट्रेनिंग मिली वह आज प्रधानमंत्री के तौर पर काम करने के दौरान बहुत काम आता है।
पीएम मोदी ने कहा कि देशभक्ति और देश की सेवा सिर्फ फौज में भर्ती होने से नहीं होती। देश के लिए हर पल सोचना और देश के लिए कुछ कर गुजरने की भावना होना भी देश की सेवा है। प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि ये ऐसे विचार हैं जो एनसीसी में शामिल होने पर आपके दिमाग में आते हैं।
प्रधानमंत्री ने एनसीसी के कैडेट्स से यह सुनिश्चित करने की अपील की कि स्कूलों और कॉलेजों में पढ़ने वाले छात्र नशे से मुक्त हों। उन्होंने कहा-आपमें से ज्यादातर लोग जानते हैं कि कैसे ड्रग्स हमारी युवा पीढ़ी को बर्बाद कर रहे हैं। जहां एनसीसी-एनएसएस है वहां स्कूलों और कॉलेजों तक ड्रग्स कैसे पहुंच सकता है? उन्होंने कहा कि युवाओं में नशे की बढ़ती लत एक बड़ी समस्या बनती जा रही है। खुद को नशे से दूर रखना और दूसरों को भी इसके लिए प्रेरित करना देशभक्ति है, देश की सेवा है। मोदी ने कहा-ऐसे में एनसीसी कैडेट्स की ये जिम्मेदारी है कि वो नशे के खिलाफ जागरूकता फैलाएं।
प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि युवा पीढ़ी स्टार्टअप और यूनिकॉर्न के जरिए देश की सेवा कर रही है। कोरोना काल में नौजवानों ने स्टार्ट अप और यूनिकॉर्न स्थापित करके इस फील्ड में दुनिया में टॉप-3 में पहुंचा दिया है। यह उनकी मानसिक शक्ति को दर्शाता है। कोरोना महामारी के दौरान देश में 50 से ज्यादा यूनिकॉर्न्स अस्तित्व में आए।
उन्होंने कहा कि देश के लोगों के द्वारा बनाए गए उत्पादों की खरीद सुनिश्चित कर देश के युवा ‘वोकल फॉर लोकल’ को बढ़ावा दे सकते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि पिछले दो वर्षों के दौरान बॉर्डर के इलाकों में एनसीसी के लिए एक लाख से ज्यादा नए कैडेट्स का नामांकन हुआ है। उन्होंने कहा कि देशभर के 90 यूनिवर्सिटीज ने अपने पाठ्यक्रम में एनसीसी को एक वैकल्पिक विषय के रूप में शामिल किया है और हमारे युवाओं को इसका लाभ उठाना चाहिए।
मोदी ने कहा- ‘यह हमारे लिए गर्व की बात है कि अब बेटियां भी हर क्षेत्र में आगे बढ़ रही हैं। सीमाओं की सुरक्षा से लेकर फाइटर जेट के कॉकपिट की कमान भी अब बेटियों ने संभाल ली है।’ नरेंद्र मोदी ने लड़कियों से भी एनसीसी-एनएसएस जैसे फील्ड में आगे आने की अपील की। मोदी ने कहा कि उनकी सरकार ने आर्मी में कई ऐसे फील्ड्स में महिलाओं को आने की मंजूरी दे दी है जहां पहले महिलाएं नहीं आ पाती थी।
नरेंद्र मोदी ने एनसीसी कैडेट्स से जो कहा ये बातें उन्होंने पहली बार नहीं कही । यह नरेंद्र मोदी की सोच है। मोदी हमेशा कहते हैं कि जो लोग आजादी के बाद पैदा हुए उन्हें आजादी की लड़ाई लड़ने और देश के लिए बलिदान देने का मौका तो नहीं मिला लेकिन उनके पास देश के लिए जीने का मौका है। मोदी हमेशा कहते हैं राष्ट्रभक्ति सबसे बड़ी पूजा है। मोदी नौजवानों से यह भी कहते हैं कि कुछ बनने का सपना मत देखो, देश के लिए कुछ करने का सपना देखो। युवा पीढ़ी को मोदी के इन उपदेशों से प्रेरणा लेनी चाहिए।
Narendra Modi gives a clarion call to Indian youths
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday wore a green Sikh cadet turban to address the annual PM’s NCC Rally at Delhi Cantonment. In his speech, Modi said, he was proud of the fact that he had been an active NCC cadet during his school days, and it was the valuable training that he got at NCC, that played a big role in inculcating the ideas of ‘Rashtra Dharma’ (duty to nation) and “Desh Seva” (service to the nation) since the time when he was a teenager.
“No religion is bigger than Rashtra dharma”, Modi said, adding, “No devotion is greater than Rashtra Bhakti (devotion to the nation), and no service is greater than ‘Rashtra Seva’. ..My training during my NCC days is playing a big role as I continue my duty as Prime Minister”.
Modi said, ideas of patriotism and national service are inculcated not only by joining the armed forces. These ideas take growth during the formative years when one joins the NCC. “To think about national interest every minute of your life, to think about ways to offer your service to the nation, to desire to do something great for our nation – these are ideas that come to mind when one joins the NCC, Modi said.
The Prime Minister appealed to NCC cadets to ensure that students studying in schools and colleges are free from drugs. “Most of you know how drugs are ruining our young generation. How can drugs reach schools and colleges where there is NCC-NSS? As young cadets, you must ensure that every youth is free from drugs”, Modi said.
The young generation of India, the PM said, has taken India to the Number 3 slot, by setting up start-ups and unicorns. “All these were created during Covid pandemic. It shows their mental strength. Over 50 unicorns came into existence in India during the Covid pandemic”.
Youths, he said, can play a big role in promoting “vocal for local” by ensuring that every Indian buys products made by Indians. Over one lakh new cadets have been enrolled in NCC in border areas during the last two years, he said. Ninety universities across India have added NCC as an elective subject in their curriculum, and our youths should take advantage of this, he added.
“It is a proud moment for us as girls are now joining Sainik Schools to join the armed forces. The number of NCC girl cadets is rising. Our daughters are now flying fighter jets in the Air Force. More girl cadets must now be included in the NCC”, Modi said.
There is nothing new in the Prime Minister speaking to NCC cadets at their annual rally. The points he raised were also not new, but these remarks reflect the thinking of our Prime Minister. Modi has always been saying, those were born after independence, could not get the chance “to die” in the struggle for India’s freedom, but they now have the opportunity “to live for the nation”. Modi has always been telling youths, “do not dream of becoming great, dream about doing something great for the country”. Our young generation must take inspiration from Modi’s exhortations.
अमित शाह और योगी ने क्यों कहा, अगर अखिलेश सत्ता में आए तो लौटेगा ‘गुंडाराज’
उत्तर प्रदेश में चुनाव को लेकर जैसे-जैसे मतदान की तारीख नजदीक आ रही है चुनाव प्रचार जोर पकड़ता जा रहा है। चुनाव आयोग की पाबंदियों की वजह से बड़ी जनसभाएं तो नहीं हो रही हैं लेकिन मुख्यधारा की राजनीतिक पार्टियों के सीनियर नेता अब पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश के ज्यादातर विधानसभा क्षेत्रों में घर-घर जाकर पार्टी का प्रचार (डोर-टू-डोर कैंपेन) करने में व्यस्त हैं। इस कड़ी में गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने गुरुवार को मथुरा, दादरी और ग्रेटर नोएडा का दौरा किया और अपने डोर-टू-डोर कैंपेन के दौरान मतदाताओं से मुलाकात की।
मथुरा में पार्टी कार्यकर्ताओं और मतदाताओं की एक सभा को संबोधित करते हुए, अमित शाह ने कहा- यूपी का यह चुनाव देश के भाग्य का फैसला करने वाला चुनाव है क्योंकि अगर यूपी का विकास रुका, तो देश का विकास भी रुक जाएगा। अमित शाह ने कहा-अगर बीजेपी यूपी में अपनी सत्ता बरकरार रखती है तो राज्य प्रगति करेगा, लेकिन अगर अखिलेश यादव और उनके सहयोगी जीत गए तो प्रदेश में ‘गुंडा- माफिया राज’ वापस आ जाएगा।
बीजेपी के दिग्गज नेता ने कहा, ‘मतदाताओं को वोट डालते समय प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की बड़ी उपलब्धियों को याद रखना चाहिए। अयोध्या में अब मंदिर बन रहा है, काशी विश्वनाथ कॉरीडोर भी बन गया। कश्मीर से आर्टिकल 370 भी हट गया। मोदी सरकार में हमारे जवानों पर हमला हुआ तो हमने पाकिस्तान में घुसकर सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक की और पाकिस्तान को उसके घर में घुसकर सबक भी सिखा दिया। अगर यूपी का विकास रुका, तो देश का विकास भी रुक जाएगा इसलिए वोट डालते वक्त मोदी को ध्यान में रखिएगा।’
उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने भी बिजनौर में डोर-टू-डोर कैंपेन किया। उन्होंने मतदाताओं से कहा, ‘आप सभी इस बात के गवाह हैं कि कैसे उन्होंने (समाजवादी पार्टी) अंधेरा लाया और हम (भाजपा) आपके जीवन में रोशनी लेकर आए हैं। वे गुंडा राज लाए थे और हम कानून का राज वापस लेकर आए।’
योगी ने बताया कि उनकी सरकार ने क्या-क्या काम किए। कितने लोगों को घर दिया, कितने परिवारों को मुफ्त में राशन पहुंचाया। शौचालय बनवाए, किसानों को उनकी जमीनों के पट्टे दिए, रोजगार दिए, मुफ्त इलाज का इंतजाम किया, कितने लोगों को पेंशन दी, किसानों के लिए क्या-क्या किया। योगी ने तमाम तरह की योजनाएं गिनवाईं। इसके बाद उन्होंने कहा कि वे सारे काम इसलिए कर पाए क्योंकि उनकी सरकार ने भ्रष्टाचार नहीं किया। पिछली सरकारों में सिर्फ लूट और धांधली थी। इसके सबूत अब सामने आ रहे हैं। योगी ने एक और बड़ी बात कही। उन्होंने कहा कि अगर लोकल उम्मीदवार या मौजूदा विधायक से कोई शिकायत है तो उसे हल कर लिया जाएगा। क्योंकि यह चुनाव सिर्फ विधायक का नहीं बल्कि सरकार और मुख्यमंत्री चुनने का है।
बीजेपी के एक अन्य दिग्गज नेता और रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह गाजियाबाद के पास मोदीनगर में चुनाव प्रचार कर रहे थे। राजनाथ सिंह ने सीएम योगी आदित्यनाथ की जमकर तारीफ की। राजनाथ ने कहा-‘वो खुद भी यूपी के सीएम रहे हैं, लेकिन योगी जी उनसे काफी बेहतर हैं’
यूपी चुनाव में कानून-व्यवस्था का मुद्दा अब सभी मुद्दों पर हावी हो गया है। सपा के राज में गुंडाराज और माफिया का जिक्र योगी आदित्यनाथ पहले भी करते थे। योगी पहले भी कहते थे कि समाजवादी पार्टी के सरकार के वक्त में उत्तर प्रदेश में गुंडाराज था और वह कानून का राज लेकर आए। इसके जवाब में अखिलेश यादव हमेशा यही कहते हैं कि अब उनकी समाजवादी पार्टी बदल गई है। यह नई सपा है और वह गुंडों और माफियाओं को हावी नहीं होने देंगे। लेकिन जब समाजवादी पार्टी ने अपने उम्मीदवारों की सूची जारी की तो उसमें आजम खान और नाहिद हसन जैसे उम्मीदवारों के नाम आए जिनके खिलाफ गंभीर अपराधों में केस दर्ज है।
समाजवादी पार्टी ने कई ऐसे लोगों को टिकट दिए जिनके ऊपर योगी की सरकार आने से पहले से केस चल रहे हैं। इसके बाद तो बीजेपी ने माफिया और अपराधियों को लेकर समाजवादी पार्टी पर हमले तेज कर दिए। अमित शाह और योगी आदित्यनाथ ने भी इसी मुद्दे पर फोकस किया और इसे मुख्य चुनावी मुद्दा बनाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। अब आगे मतदाताओं को फैसला करना है।
Why Amit Shah, Yogi said, ‘goonda raj’ will return if Akhilesh Yadav comes to power
With the Election Commission’s ban on all election rallies in force, senior leaders of mainstream political parties are now busy in door-to-door campaigning in most of the constituencies of western Uttar Pradesh. On Thursday, Home Minister Amit Shah visited Mathura, Dadra and Greater Noida and met voters during his door-to-door campaign.
Addressing a gathering of party workers and voters in Mathura, Amit Shah said, UP election results will decide the destiny of India in the coming years. Shah said, if BJP retained power in UP, the state will progress, but if Akhilesh Yadav and his allies win, “goonda-mafia raj” will return.
The BJP stalwart said, “while going to cast their votes, voters should remember the big achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These included building of Ram temple in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath temple corridor, removal of Article 370 status for Jammu and Kashmir, and the attacks carried out by our armed forces on terror camps inside Pakistani territory. Remember, if the progress of UP is stalled, India’s progress could also come to a halt. So whenever you decide to vote, please do keep Narendra Modi in mind”.
UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath was also on a door-to-door campaign in Bijnor. He told voters, “all of you are witness to how they (Samajwadi Party) brought darkness, and we (BJP) brought light in your lives. They brought goonda raj, we brought back rule of law”.
Yogi said, all the good work done during his rule, like distributing free rations, building of toilets, giving pension, giving homes to poor people, free medical treatment for poor, would not have been possible, had there been rampant corruption. He told voters not to oppose BJP only because of their grouse against local MLAs. “If there are problems with local MLAs, these will be resolved, but remember, you are going to elect a government and a Chief Minister”, Yogi said.
Another BJP stalwart Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was in Modinagar near Ghaziabad. Rajnath Singh said, “if you compare my rule with Yogi’s rule, I can definitely say that Yogi’s governance was far better. I myself was chief minister, but Yogi ji is far better than me.”
Law and order has now become a priority issue in UP elections. Yogi Adityanath used to speak about “goonda raj” during Akhilesh Yadav’s rule, but the SP supremo used to say that he has brought about a sea change in his party. Akhilesh claims that he would not allow criminals and mafia leaders to rule, because his party has acquired a new image. But his claims have proved to be hollow, after the SP candidates’ lists were out. People with criminal cases against them, like Nahid Hassan and several others, are not contesting elections on SP symbol.
There are several candidates against whom criminal cases were filed even before Yogi became chief minister. Both Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath are therefore focusing more on entry of criminals in Samajwadi Party and are trying to project it as the core election issue. It is now for the electorate to decide.
अमित शाह ने ग़िले-शिकवे दूर कर कैसे मांगा जाटों का समर्थन
उत्तर प्रदेश से जुड़े एक बड़े राजनीतिक घटनाक्रम में गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने बुधवार को जाट नेताओं से मुलाकात की। इस दौरान हुई बातचीत में शाह ने विधानसभा चुनावों में बीजेपी के लिए जाट समुदाय का समर्थन मांगा।
जाट समुदाय की विभिन्न ‘खाप पंचायतों’ के करीब 253 नेताओं ने बुधवार को शाह से मुलाकात कर अपनी मांगें रखीं। जाट नेताओं की प्रमुख मांगों में जाटों के लिए नौकरी में आरक्षण, चौधरी चरण सिंह को भारत रत्न, गन्ना किसानों को बकाया रकम का तत्काल भुगतान और जेवर एयरपोर्ट का नाम जाट महाराजा के नाम पर रखना शामिल है। अमित शाह ने कहा, केंद्र सरकार जाटों की इच्छाओं का सम्मान करेगी और उन्हें उम्मीद है कि जाट बीजेपी को उसी तरह अपना समर्थन देते रहेंगे जैसे उन्होंने 2014, 2017 और 2019 के चुनावों में दिया था।
अमित शाह ने कहा, ‘बीजेपी का जाट समुदाय के साथ पुराना रिश्ता है और इसे छोटी-मोटी बातों पर नहीं तोड़ा जा सकता।’ शाह ने नेताओं से उनकी शिकायतों के बारे में पूछा और उनकी मांगों को पूरा करने का वादा किया। उन्होंने कहा, ‘जब-जब हमारी पार्टी ने जाटों का समर्थन मांगा, उन्होंने हमेशा हमारी मदद की। कुछ कमी भी रही तो भी जाट बीजेपी से दूर नहीं हुए। मैं भी जयंत चौधरी (RLD प्रमुख) को चाहता हूं, लेकिन उन्होंने घर गलत चुन लिया है। हालांकि (मेलजोल की) संभावनाएं कभी खत्म नहीं होतीं, भविष्य में कुछ भी हो सकता है।’
अमित शाह ने RLD प्रमुख जयंत चौधरी के बारे में सार्वजनिक रूप से इतना खुलकर कभी नहीं बोला था। जाट नेताओं के साथ बैठक बीजेपी सांसद प्रवेश वर्मा के आवास पर हुई थी, और पश्चिमी यूपी के बीजेपी नेता संजीव बालियान की मदद से प्रवेश ने इसका आयोजन किया था।
मुलाकात के बाद बालियान आत्मविश्वास से भरे नजर आए। उन्होंने कहा, जाट मतदाता चुनाव से पहले भले ही बीजेपी से नाराज रहते हों, लेकिन वे वोट अंततः बीजेपी को ही देते हैं। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि समाजवादी पार्टी के मुखिया अखिलेश यादव RLD प्रमुख जयंत चौधरी के कंदे पर बंदूक रखकर अपने सियासी समीकरण साध रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा, गठबंधन दोनों नेताओं के बीच हो सकता है, लेकिन जमीन पर इसका कोई असर नहीं है (दूसरे शब्दों में, पश्चिमी यूपी में मुसलमानों और जाटों के बीच पढ़ें)। बालियान ने कहा, चुनाव के बाद RLD के बीजेपी खेमे में शामिल होने की संभावना बन सकती है। उन्होंने इंडिया टीवी के रिपोर्टर से कहा, ‘राजनीति में कुछ भी हो सकता है।
पश्चिमी यूपी के जाट बेल्ट में खाप पंचायतों द्वारा लिए गए फैसलों को अंतिम माना जाता है, और ये फैसले अक्सर पार्टियों द्वारा लिए गए पॉलिटिकल स्टैंड पर भारी पड़ते हैं। यही वजह है कि खाप पंचायतों के प्रमुखों को बैठक में बुलाया गया था, जिसकी अध्यक्षता समुदाय के एक सम्मानित नेता चौधरी जयवीर सिंह ने की थी।
बैठक के बाद चौधरी जयवीर सिंह ने कहा, ‘हमें अखिलेश यादव से कोई दिक्कत नहीं है। एकमात्र समस्या यह है कि उनके शासन में गुंडागर्दी और लूटपाट की घटनाएं बढ़ जाती हैं, बहन-बेटियां सुरक्षित नहीं रहतीं। इसीलिए जाट पहले बीजेपी का समर्थन करते थे। योगी के राज में हमारे घरों की महिलाएं बिना किसी दिक्कत के बाहर आती जाती हैं।
योगी आदित्यानाथ के विरोधी भी मानते है कि उनके राज में कानून और व्यवस्था मे सुधार हुआ है। अपराधियों में पुलिस का, कानून का खौफ है और आम लोग खुद को महफूज महसूस करते हैं। अगर एक वरिष्ठ जाट नेता योगी के शासन की तारीफ करता है तो यह बीजेपी के लिए काफी मायने रखता है, क्योंकि पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश में जाटों की आबादी 17 पर्सेंट से ज्यादा है।
जाट पश्चिमी यूपी के 21 जिलों की 97 विधानसभा सीटों पर उम्मीदवारों के भाग्य का फैसला करते हैं। मथुरा में करीब 40 फीसदी, बागपत में 30 फीसदी और सहारनपुर में 20 फीसदी आबादी जाटों की है। चूंकि पहले चरण का मतदान पश्चिमी यूपी में ही होने जा रहा है, इसलिए सभी की निगाहें इस बात पर टिकी हैं कि जाट किसका समर्थन करते हैं। बैठक के बाद नोएडा से जाट नेता गजेंद्र सिंह अत्री ने कहा कि जाटों को अब बीजेपी से कोई शिकायत नहीं है। उन्होंने तो गृह मंत्री को ‘चौधरी अमित शाह’ तक कह दिया।
हिंदू-मुस्लिम, जाट बनाम गैर-जाट और जाति बिरादरी जैसे मुद्दे अब खास मायने नहीं रखते। जाट समुदाय के दिमाग में कानून-व्यवस्था सबसे ऊपर है। शाह की बैठक के बाद सबसे पहले प्रतिक्रिया देने वालों में RLD सुप्रीमो जयंत चौधरी शामिल थे। उन्होंने ट्वीट किया: ‘न्योता मुझे नहीं, उन 700 से ज्यादा किसान परिवारों को दो जिनके घर आपने उजाड़ दिए!’ RLD नेता मेराजुद्दीन ने शाह की खाप नेताओं के साथ मुलाकात को ‘राजनीतिक स्टंट’ करार दिया। उन्होंने कहा, ‘बीजेपी जाटों को पहले भी धोखा देती आई है और आगे भी धोखा देगी।’
ओबीसी नेता ओम प्रकाश राजभर, जिनका पश्चिमी यूपी में कोई जनाधार नहीं है, ने कहा: ‘इस तरह के दिखावे से कुछ नहीं होगा। जाटों को बीजेपी की असलियत समझ आ गई है। सिर्फ लॉलीपॉप देने से काम नहीं चलेगा।’ गुरुवार को अमित शाह ने जाट वोटरों को रिझाने के लिए मथुरा में घर-घर जाकर प्रचार किया।
पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश को लेकर बीजेपी की चिंता वाजिब है। इसके दो कारण हैं। पहला, अखिलेश यादव का जयंत चौधरी के साथ गठबंधन, और दूसरा, एक साल से ज्यादा चले किसान आंदोलन का प्रभाव। पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश में जाट और मुसलमानों का वोट जीत हार तय करता है। अगर किसान आंदोलन का वोटरों के दिमाग पर असर हुआ, तो बीजेपी को नुकसान हो सकता है। इसकी वजह ये है कि आमतौर पर मुसलमनों का वोट बीजेपी को नहीं मिलता है। पिछले चुनाव में जाट बीजेपी के साथ लामबंद थे, तो बीजेपी ने पश्चिमी यूपी के 21 जिलों की 97 विधानसभा सीटों में से 82 सीटें जीती थी। समाजवादी पार्टी को सिर्फ 9 सीटें मिली थीं, जबकि बीएसपी 3 और कांग्रेस 2 सीटों पर सिमट गई थी।
जाट वोटों के महत्व के कारण ही बीजेपी नेतृत्व किसी भी कीमत पर जाटों को नाराज करने का जोखिम नहीं उठा सकता। अमित शाह ने आगे बढ़कर पहल की, जाट नेताओं से बात की, उनकी नाराजगी दूर की, उन्हें जाटों और अपनी पार्टी के बीच लंबे समय से चले आ रहे संबंधों की याद दिलाई और उनकी सभी मांगों को पूरा करने का वादा किया।
यह एक काबिले तारीफ और ऐतिहासिक कदम था। इसलिए बैठक से बाहर निकले कुछ जाट नेताओं ने उन्हें ‘चौधरी अमित शाह’ कहा। उनमें से कुछ ने ‘अमित शाह जिंदाबाद’ के नारे भी लगाए। कुछ लोग कह सकते हैं कि जो लोग बीजेपी नेता के घर से निकले, वे क्या समाजवादी पार्टी के नारे लगाते।
जाट महाराजा के नाम पर जेवर एयरपोर्ट का नाम रखने का वादा हो, या उन्हें आरक्षण देने का वादा हो, या फिर जाटों को सत्ता में उचित भागीदारी देने की बात हो, ये सब सियासी बातें हो सकती हैं, लेकिन सपा के शासन की योगी राज से तुलना में जाट नेता जो अपनी बहन-बेटियों की सुरक्षा की बात करते हैं, कानून व्यवस्था की बात करते हैं, उसे गंभीरता से लेने की जरूरत है।
इन बातों का जमीन पर बड़ा असर हो सकता है। यह मुद्दा हर जाट परिवार से जुड़ा है और इसका निश्चित रूप से असर पड़ेगा। कानून-व्यवस्था इस बार पश्चिमी यूपी में सबसे बड़ा चुनावी मुद्दा बनने जा रहा है।

In a fresh political development in UP, Home Minister Amit Shah reached out to Jat leaders and held talks with them seeking the community’s support to the BJP in the forthcoming assembly elections.
Nearly 253 leaders from different ‘khap panchayats’ of Jat community met Shah on Wednesday and placed their list of demands, which included job reservation for Jats, conferring of Bharat Ratna on former PM Chaudhary Charan Singh, naming of Jewar airport in the name of Jat Maharaja, and immediate payment of sugarcane arrears to farmers. Amit Shah replied that the Centre would respect the aspirations of Jats, and he hoped the community will continue to extend support to BJP as it did in the 2014, 2017 and 2019 elections.
“BJP has a long standing relationship with Jat community”, Amit Shah said, “and this cannot be broken over minor issues”. Shah asked the leaders about their grievances and promised to fulfil their demands. “Whenever our party sought their support, Jats always came out wholeheartedly to lend a helping hand”, he said, “there might be some shortcomings, but Jats have not turned their back on BJP. ..I, too, like Jayant Chaudhary (RLD chief), but he has preferred to choose the wrong camp. Possibilities (of a rapprochement) cannot be ruled out, anything can happen in future”.
Never had Amit Shah come out so clearly about RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary in public. The meeting with Jat leaders was held at BJP MP Parvesh Verma’s residence, and was organized by Parvesh with the help of Sanjeev Baliyan, the BJP leader from western UP.
After the meeting, Balyan looked confident. He said, Jat voters express their annoyance before the elections, but they ultimately vote for BJP. He alleged that Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav was using Jayant Chaudhary as a tool to further his political agenda. The alliance, he said, may be between the two leaders, but it has not percolated to the ground level (in other words, read, between Muslims and Jats in western UP). Baliyan said, there could be possibilities of RLD joining the BJP camp after the elections. “Anything can happen in politics”, he told India TV reporter.
In the Jat belt of western UP, the decisions taken by Khap panchayats are considered final, and these decisions often override political stands taken by parties. This was the reason why chiefs of Khap panchayats were called to the meeting, presided over by Chaudhary Jaiveer Singh, a respected community leader.
After the meeting, Chaudhary Jaiveer Singh said, “we have no problem with Akhilesh Yadav. The only problem is, incidents of hooliganism and loot did rise during his rule, womenfolk were not safe in public, and these were the reasons due to which the Jats supported BJP in the past. During Yogi’s rule, our womenfolk were free to move around in public and there was no such problem”.
Even Yogi’s rivals admit that there were practically few incidents of lawlessness during his rule and the majesty of law and administration prevailed. A senior Jat leader praising Yogi’s rule means much for the BJP, because Jats in western UP constitute more than 17 per cent of the population.
Jats decide the fate of candidates in as many as 97 constituencies in 21 districts of western UP. There are nearly 40 pc Jats in Mathura, 30 pc in Baghpat and 20 pc in Saharanpur. Since the first phase of polling is going to take place in western UP, all eyes are set on whom the Jat community will support. Gajendra Singh Atri, a Jat leader from Noida, said after the meeting, that Jats have no grievance with the BJP anymore. He even described the Home Minister as “Chaudhary Amit Shah”.
Issues like Hindu-Muslim, Jat vs non-Jat, and caste biradari do not matter much now. Law and order is uppermost in the minds of Jat community. RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary was among the first to react after Shah’s meeting. He tweeted: “Do not invite me, invite the families of 700-plus farmers, whose homes have been destroyed (during the farmers agitation)”. RLD leader Merajuddin described Shah’s meeting with Khap leaders as a “political stunt”. He said, “BJP betrayed Jats in the past, and will betray in future too.”
OBC leader Om Prakash Rajbhar, who has practically no mass base in western UP, remarked: “Such showcasing won’t help. Jats have realized the truth about BJP. Merely offering lollypops won’t do.” On Thursday, Amit Shah went on a door-to-door campaign in Mathura to woo Jat voters.
There are two main reasons for which the BJP leadership is worried about western UP. First, the alliance between Akhilesh Yadav and Jayant Chaudhary, and, second, the effect of year-long farmers agitation. Jats and Muslims decide the fate of most of the candidates in western UP. If the farmers’ agitation makes an impact on the electorate’s mind, it can affect the BJP adversely. Reason: Muslim voters normally never vote for BJP. In the last elections, the Jat community stood firm as a rock behind BJP in western UP, and the party won 82 out of 97 constituencies in 21 districts. SP managed to win only nine seats, BSP won three and the Congress two.
It is because of the importance of Jat votes that the BJP leadership cannot take the risk of antagonizing Jat community, at any cost. Amit Shah took the initiative from the front, spoke to Jat leaders, allayed their grievances, reminded them of the long standing relationship between Jats and his party, and promised to fulfil all their demands.
This was a welcome and historic gesture. That is why, some Jat leaders who came out of the meeting, described him as “Chaudhary Amit Shah”. Some of them even chanted “Amit Shah Zindabad” slogan. Some sceptics may say, nobody expected these leaders, who went to a BJP leader’s meeting, would have chanted slogans in support of Samajwadi Party.
Promises of naming Jewar airport after Jat Maharaja, or giving them reservation, or proper representation in power, could be part of political game, but Jat leaders raising the issue of safety of their womenfolk and law and order as benchmarks for comparing the SP rule with Yogi’s rule, needs to be seriously taken into consideration.
These remarks can have a big effect at the ground level. This issue relates to every Jat family, and it will surely have the desired impact. Law and order is going to become the topmost electoral issue in western UP this time.
कांग्रेस नेता आरपीएन सिंह बीजेपी में क्यों शामिल हुए
राहुल गांधी की कोर कमेटी के सदस्य और डॉ मनमोहन सिंह की कैबिनेट में मंत्री रह चुके आरपीएन सिंह का इस्तीफा उत्तर प्रदेश में कांग्रेस के लिए एक बड़ा झटका है। कांग्रेस को उसके नेता और कार्यकर्ता एक-एक कर छोड़ते चले जा रहे हैं। पार्टी का साथ छोड़ने वालों में विधानसभा चुनावों में टिकट पाने वाले कुछ उम्मीदवार भी शामिल हैं। इन उम्मीदवारों ने कांग्रेस छोड़कर बीजेपी या समाजवादी पार्टी जॉइन कर ली। आरपीएन सिंह 32 साल तक कांग्रेस में रहे, लेकिन गणतंत्र दिवस की पूर्व संध्या पर उन्होंने यह कहते हुए बीजेपी में शामिल होने का फैसला किया कि वह एक नई राह पर चलना चाहते हैं।
आरपीएन सिंह कुशीनगर के राजपरिवार से आते हैं और OBC में आने वाली सैंथवार कुर्मी जाति से ताल्लुक रखते हैं। वह पडरौना सीट से 3 बार विधायक भी रह चुके हैं। सिंह लोकसभा चुनाव में कुशीनगर सीट से पिछड़े वर्ग के कद्दावर नेता स्वामी प्रसाद मौर्य को हरा चुके हैं। अब संभावना यह जताई जा रही है कि बीजेपी छोड़कर सपा में शामिल हुए मौर्य का सामना विधानसभा चुनाव में आरपीएन सिंह से होगा। गृह मंत्री अमित शाह और बीजेपी अध्यक्ष जेपी नड्डा से मुलाकात के बाद सिंह बीजेपी में शामिल हो गए। वह यूपी के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ, दोनों डिप्टी सीएम और राज्य बीजेपी प्रमुख स्वतंत्र देव सिंह की उपस्थिति में पार्टी में शामिल हुए।
केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान, जो यूपी बीजेपी के प्रभारी भी हैं, ने खुलासा किया कि वह 2004 से ज्योतिरादित्य सिंधिया और आरपीएन सिंह को बीजेपी में शामिल होने के लिए मनाने में लगे हुए थे, और आखिरकार उनकी कोशिशें सफल हुईं। एक दिन पहले ही कांग्रेस ने आरपीएन सिंह को अपना स्टार प्रचारक बनाया था, लेकिन उनके अचानक इस्तीफा देने से पार्टी को बड़ा झटका लगा है। कांग्रेस प्रवक्ता सुप्रिया श्रीनेत ने आरपीएन सिंह पर निशाना साधते हुए उन्हें कायर कहा। यूपी कांग्रेस प्रमुख अजय कुमार लल्लू ने कहा कि सिंह ‘हैवीवेट’ नहीं बल्कि ‘डेडवेट’ थे और उनके जाने से कोई खास प्रभाव नहीं पड़ेगा। स्वामी प्रसाद मौर्य ने दावा किया कि उन्होंने एक बार आरपीएन सिंह की मां को हराया था और उनके करीबी उम्मीदवारों को भी 2 बार हरा चुके हैं।
कांग्रेस के नेता आरपीएन सिंह को भले ही ‘डेडवेट’ कहें, लेकिन हकीकत यही है कि वह राहुल गांधी की मंडली के 4 मुख्य स्तंभों में से एक थे। जब राहुल गांधी ने 2016 में देवरिया जिले से अपनी ‘खाट यात्रा’ शुरू की थी, तब आरपीएन सिंह ने आगे बढ़कर मोर्चा संभाला था। वह राहुल की कोर टीम के सदस्य थे, जिसमें ज्योतिरादित्य सिंधिया और जितिन प्रसाद शामिल थे। अब ये तीनों युवा नेता बीजेपी में हैं।
राहुल अब अपने पूर्व साथियों को डरपोक कह सकते हैं, कायर कह सकते हैं, लेकिन आम आदमी तो पूछेगा ही कि इन ‘कायरों’ को केंद्र में मंत्री क्यों बनाया गया? कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेताओं को आज आत्ममंथन करना चाहिए कि पंजाब के कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह और असम के हिमंत बिस्वा सरमा जैसे उनके पुराने दिग्गज बीजेपी में क्यों शामिल हो गए? जहां तक बीजेपी नेतृत्व का सवाल है, वह निश्चित रूप से आरपीएन सिंह नाम की मिसाइल का इस्तेमाल स्वामी प्रसाद मौर्य पर हमला करने के लिए करेगा, क्योंकि मौर्य लगातार ये दावा कर रहे हैं कि वह यूपी के चुनावों में बीजेपी को हराकर ही दम लेंगे।
मुझे नहीं लगता कि कांग्रेस नेतृत्व कुछ भी सबक सीखना चाहेगा। मंगलवार की रात जब यह घोषणा की गई कि पार्टी के नेता गुलाम नबी आजाद को पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित किया गया है, तो पार्टी के एक अन्य नेता जयराम रमेश ने ट्विटर पर कटाक्ष किया। जयराम रमेश ने लिखा, ‘यही सही चीज थी करने के लिए। वह आजाद रहना चाहते हैं गुलाम नहीं।’ अब यह पाठकों के ऊपर है कि वे एक कांग्रेसी नेता के गुलाम नबी आजाद, जो कि आंतरिक-पार्टी लोकतंत्र का आह्वान करने वाले ग्रुप के दिग्गजों में से एक हैं, के बारे में किए गए इस ट्वीट का क्या मतलब निकालते हैं।
Why Congress leader R P N Singh joined BJP
The resignation of R P N Singh, a member of Rahul Gandhi’s core committee and a former minister in Dr Manmohan Singh’s cabinet, has come as a big jolt to the Congress in UP. The party is facing desertions by party workers and leaders. Even some candidates who were given party tickets have left the Congress, to either join the BJP or Samajwadi Party, main rivals in the assembly polls. R P N Singh was in the Congress for 32 years, but on the eve of Republic Day, he decided to join the BJP, saying that he wanted to embark a new path.
Hailing from an ex-ruler family of Kushinagar, R P N Singh belongs to Sainthwar Kurmi caste, an OBC. Singh was MLA thrice from Padrauna. He had once defeated Swami Prasad Maurya, the heavyweight OBC leader, from Kushinagar Lok Sabha seat. Maurya, who quit the BJP and joined SP, now faces the prospect of facing R P N Singh in the assembly polls. Singh joined the BJP after meeting Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president J P Nadda. He joined the BJP in the presence of UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, both the deputy CMs and the state BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who is in-charge of UP BJP, revealed that he had been trying since 2004 to persuade both Jyotiraditya Scindia and R P N Singh to join BJP, and ultimately his efforts have borne fruit. A day before, the Congress had enlisted R P N Singh as one of its star campaigners, but the party had to face a jolt with his sudden departure. Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate described R P N Singh as a “coward”. UP Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu said, Singh was a “deadweight” not a “heavyweight” and his departure will not make any significant impact. Swami Prasad Maurya claimed that he had once defeated R P N Singh’s mother and had twice defeated candidates close to him in the past.
Congress leaders may call R P N Singh a “deadweight” but the fact remains that he was one of the four core pillars in Rahul Gandhi’s coterie. It was R P N Singh, who led from the front, when Rahul Gandhi started his “khaat yatra” from Deoria district in 2016. He belonged to Rahul’s core team that consisted of Jyotiraditya Scindia and Jitin Prasad. Now all these three young leaders are in BJP.
Rahul may now describe his former mates as “cowards”, but the man in the street may definitely ask why these “cowards” were made ministers at the Centre? Senior Congress leaders must self-introspect today why their former heavyweights like Capt Amarinder Singh of Punjab and Himanta Biswa Sarma on Assam have joined the BJP? As far as BJP leadership is concerned, it is surely going to use R P N Singh as a missile to fire at Swami Prasad Maurya, who has been claiming day in and day out that he would defeat the BJP in UP polls.
I doubt whether the Congress leadership would like to learn lessons. On Tuesday night, when it was announced that party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has been conferred Padma Bhushan, another party leader Jairam Ramesh made a subtle jibe on Twitter. Jairam Ramesh wrote: “Right thing to do. He wants to be Azad, not Ghulam”. It is up to readers to analyze the meaning of this cryptic tweet from a Congress leader about Ghulam Nabi Azad, one of the stalwarts of the group that has been calling for inner-party democracy.
यूपी के चुनावी दंगल में अपराधियों की कैसे हुई वापसी?
बीजेपी की ओर से मुख्यमंत्री पद के उम्मीदवार योगी आदित्यनाथ ने शुक्रवार को यह बता दिया कि बीजेपी के चुनाव प्रचार का फोकस क्या होगा। उन्होंने बाहुबली और अपराधिक चरित्र के नेताओं पर जमकर निशाना साधा। योगी ने कहा कि विधानसभा चुनाव के लिए जारी की गई समाजवादी पार्टी के उम्मीदवारों की लिस्ट, इस पार्टी के ‘दंगा प्रेमी’ और ‘तमंचावादी’ होने का सबूत है। उन्होंने कहा-‘उत्तर प्रदेश की जनता पलायन नहीं, प्रगति चाहती है। जनता दंगे और अपराधियों से मुक्त प्रदेश चाहती है।’
उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री ने दावा किया कि पिछले 5 साल में दंगाई और पेशेवर अपराधी या तो राज्य छोड़कर भाग गए थे या जेल में चले गए थे। लेकिन अब उनमें से कई को अखिलेश यादव ने टिकट दिया है। योगी ने कहा कि समाजवादी पार्टी ने अपनी पहली लिस्ट में ही सहारनपुर और मुज़फ़्फ़रनगर के दंगाई, कैराना में हिन्दुओं के पलायन के ज़िम्मेदार लोगों को टिकट देकर अपनी मानसिकता साफ कर दी है।
मैंने इंडिया टीवी के रिपोर्टर्स से इन तमाम विधानसभा सीटों पर उम्मीदवारों की पृष्ठभूमि खंगालने को कहा। इन उम्मीदवारों के एफिडेविट चेक किए गए और हमारे रिपोर्टर्स ने इन उम्मीदवारों से बात की। इन उम्मीदवारों की आपराधिक पृष्ठभूमि और इनके मुकदमों की लिस्ट देखेंगे तो आप चकित रह जाएंगे।
सबसे पहले कैराना की बात करते हैं। यहां से समाजवादी पार्टी ने नाहिद हसन को उम्मीदवार बनाया है। जब नाहिद हसन को समाजवादी पार्टी ने उम्मीदवार घोषित किया था उस वक्त वो फरार चल रहा था। लेकिन जब नाहिद पर्चा दाखिल करने गया तो पुलिस ने उसे दबोच लिया। अदालत ने नाहिद हसन को 14 दिन की कस्टडी में जेल भेज दिया है।
नाहिद का जब पुराना रिकॉर्ड खंगाला गया तो पता चला कि उसपर अभी कुल 17 मुकदमे चल रहे हैं। इनमें हत्या की कोशिश, बलवा, दंगा करने, लोगों पर हमला करने, धोखाधड़ी, आपराधिक साजिश और समाज में वैमनस्यता पैदा करने के मामले हैं। नाहिद के खिलाफ गुंडा एक्ट और गैंगस्टर एक्ट भी लगा है। एक साल पहले स्थानीय अदालत ने नाहिद हसन को भगोड़ा घोषित कर दिया था। लेकिन जैसे ही समाजवादी पार्टी ने उसे उम्मीदवार बनाया उसके अगले ही दिन वह नमांकन दाखिल करने पहुंच गया। लेकिन नामांकन दाखिल करने से पहले ही पुलिस ने नाहिद को पकड़ लिया। नाहिद को 14 दिन की न्यायिक हिरासत में भेज दिया गया। चूंकि जमानत की उम्मीद कम है इसलिए बैकअप के तौर पर नाहिद हसन की बहन इकरा हसन ने निर्दलीय उम्मीदवार के तौर पर नामांकन दाखिल किया है। नामांकन दाखिल करने के बाद इकरा हसन ने कहा कि उनके भाई पर जितने भी मामले चल रहे हैं वो फर्जी हैं। जबकि सच्चाई ये है नाहिद पर दर्ज कुल 17 मामलों में से ज्यादातर मामले योगी के सत्ता में आने से पहले दर्ज हो चुके थे।
उधर, हापुड़ के धौलाना सीट से समाजवादी पार्टी ने असलम चौधरी को टिकट दिया है। असलम चौधरी पर 10 मुकदमे चल रहे हैं। इनमें दफा 307 यानी हत्या की कोशिश, जान से मारने की धमकी, जमीनों पर जबरन कब्जे और गैंगस्टर एक्ट के तहत मामले चल रहे हैं। असलम चौधरी दंगे की साजिश करने, भड़काऊ बयान देकर बलवा कराने के मामले में भी आरोपी हैं। इंडिया टीवी के रिपोर्टर ने जब असलम चौधरी से उनपर चल रहे मुकदमों के बारे में पूछा तो उन्होंने ज्यादातर मुकदमों को झूठा और फर्जी बताया। हर मुकदमे की एक कहानी सुना दी। इसके बाद उन्होंने कहा कि सबसे ज्यादा मुकदमे तो योगी के खिलाफ थे, तो योगी साधु और हम अपराधी कैसे हो गए?असलम चौधरी बीएसपी के विधायक थे और कुछ दिन पहले ही समाजवादी पार्टी में शामिल हुए हैं। असलम चौधरी ने अपने हलफनामे में 10 मुकदमों का जिक्र किया है लेकिन पुलिस रिकॉर्ड से पता चलता है कि उनके खिलाफ कुल 21 केस लंबित हैं।
मेरठ शहर विधानसभा सीट से रफीक अंसारी सपा के उम्मीदवार हैं। रफीक अंसारी का दावा है कि उनपर हत्या की कोशिश का सिर्फ एक केस चल रहा है। यह मामला वर्ष 2007 का है। इस मामले में कोर्ट ने रफीक के खिलाफ गिरफ्तारी वारंट भी जारी किया था जिस पर उन्होंने हाईकोर्ट से स्टे ले रखा है। रफीक अंसारी समाजवादी के मौजूदा विधायक हैं।
हाजी यूनुस बुलंदशहर सीट से राष्ट्रीय लोकदल (आरएलडी) के उम्मीदवार हैं। उनके खिलाफ हत्या की कोशिश का केस चल रहा है। यह केस समाजवादी पार्टी की सरकार के वक्त दर्ज हुआ था। लेकिन जनाब का कहना है कि यह झूठा मामला है। वे इस मुकदमे को लड़ाई-झगड़े का मामला बता रहे हैं। हाजी यूनुस के खिलाफ सात मुक़दमे चल रहे हैं। इनमें रेप, हत्या की कोशिश, जान से मारने की धमकी और मारपीट जैसे संगीन मुकदमे हैं। हालांकि हाजी यूनुस कह रहे हैं कि उनपर कोई गंभीर केस नहीं है और जो भी मामले हैं वो पारिवारिक विवादों से जुड़े हैं। हाजी यूनुस ने कहा कि अगर हमारी सरकार बन गई और उनके नेता मुख्यमंत्री बन गए तो उनके मुकदमे भी एक घंटे में खत्म हो जाएंगे।
आपराधिक पृष्ठभूमि वाले उम्मीदवारों की लिस्ट लंबी है। मदन सिंह कसाना ऊर्फ मदन भैया को आरएलडी ने लोनी सीट से चुनाव मैदान में उतारा है। लोनी इलाके में उनका खौफ है, उनकी छवि एक बाहुबली नेता की है। कुछ दिन पहले जब सीएम योगी आदित्यनाथ नोएडा में चुनाव प्रचार के लिए आए थे तब उन्होंने मदन भैया का नाम लेकर समाजवादी पार्टी पर निशाना भी साधा था। मदन भैया ने शुक्रवार को अपने राजनीतिक विरोधियों को चेतावनी देते हुए कहा कि वे हद में रहकर चुनावी बातें करें, वरना याद रखें कि उनका नाम मदन भैया है। जब इंडिया टीवी के रिपोर्टर ने मदन भैया से कहा कि यह तो धमकी वाला अंदाज है, इसीलिए लोग आपको बाहुबली कहते हैं। इस पर मदन भैया ने कहा-‘बाहुबली होना बुरा नहीं है, बाहुबली तो बजरंगबली भी हैं।’ मदन भैया ने कहा, उनके खिलाफ केवल दो मामले लंबित हैं और दोनों राजनीति से प्रेरित हैं।
एक बात तो हम सबने देखी कि यूपी में योगी सरकार ने अपने पांच साल के शासन में अपराधियों, गैंगस्टर्स और असामाजिक तत्वों के खिलाफ जबरदस्त एक्शन लिया। उनकी प्रॉपर्टी जब्त की, सरकारी जमीनों से कब्जे को हटाया। करीब 1500 करोड़ से ज्यादा की संपत्ति वसूली। योगी सरकार आने से पहले किसी ने ऐसा नज़ारा नहीं देखा था कि अपराधी हाथ जोड़कर, गले में तख्ती लटकाकर थाने में पहुंचे और कहे कि जेल भेज दो वरना पुलिस ठोक देगी। क्या पहले कभी किसी ने देखा कि अदालत में अपराधी अपनी जमानत को रद्द करवाने के लिए आवेदन दे और कहे कि उसे जेल जाना है। जेल में वो ज्यादा सुरक्षित है। जेल से बाहर पुलिस एनकाउंटर कर देगी।
यह सही है कि योगी ने अपराधियों के दिल में कानून, पुलिस और प्रशासन का खौफ तो पैदा किया है। इसमें कोई दो राय नहीं है। योगी के राजनीतिक विरोधी भी इस बात को मानते हैं। लेकिन राजनीति का अपराधीकरण और अपराधियों का राजनीति में आना आज भी जारी है। इसे रोकने के लिए कानून भी बनाए गए लेकिन अपराधी उससे बचने का रास्ता ढूंढ लेते हैं। कानून यह है कि अगर किसी को दो साल से ज्यादा की सजा होती है तो वह चुनाव नहीं लड़ सकता। लेकिन सजा होने में 20 साल लग जाते हैं, तब तक वो कई बार चुनाव लड़ चुका होता है और कई बार तो मंत्री भी बन चुका होता है। दूसरी बात यह है कि अपराधियों के खिलाफ कितने केस चल रहे हैं, इसकी जानकारी जनता को नहीं होती।
इस बार चुनाव आयोग ने यह नियम बनाया था कि उम्मीदवारों को अपने आपराधिक रिकॉर्ड का पूरा ब्यौरा अखबारों में छपवाना होगा। जनता को बताना होगा। साथ ही राजनीतिक दल जिन लोगों को टिकट देंगे उनके खिलाफ चल रहे मामलों की जानकारी वेबसाइट पर डालनी होगी। अब यह नियम तो बन गया लेकिन जब हमारे रिपोर्टर्स ने समाजवादी पार्टी की आधिकारिक वेबसाइट देखी तो पता चला कि ब्यौरा तो अपलोड किया गया है लेकिन उसे देखकर कोई समझ ही नहीं सकता कि किसके खिलाफ कौन से अपराध का केस चल रहा है। वेबसाइट पर तमाम धाराएं लिख दी गई हैं जिससे आम आदमी यह नहीं समझ पाता कि अपराधी कितना बड़ा है और उस पर किस अपराध के लिए केस दर्ज हुआ है। चुनाव आयोग को इस कमी पर ध्यान देना चाहिए।
