अमेरिका यात्रा : मोदी का पर्सनल टच
नरेंद्र मोदी भारत के पहले नेता हैं, जिन्होने दो बार अमेरिकी संसद को संबोधित करके इतिहास रचा है. अपने ऐतिहासिक संबोधन में मोदी ने चीन, रूस, पाकिस्तान के नाम तो नहीं लिये, लेकिन यूक्रैन युद्ध, ताइवान और आतंकवाद के मसले पर भारत की सोच को साफ तौर पर रखने में कोई संकोच नहीं किया. अमेरिकी सांसदों ने 15 बार खड़े होकर तालियां बजाई और 79 बार मोदी के भाषण के दौरान बैठ कर तालियां बजाई. मोदी ने कहा कि हिन्द-प्रशांत क्षेत्र में दबाव और टकराव के घने काले बादल मंडरा रहे हैं. मोदी ने कहा कि हमें हिन्द-प्रशांत को एक ऐसा क्षेत्र बनाना है जहां छोटे-बड़े सभी देश आज़ाद और निडर होकर रहें, जहां भारी कर्ज़ इन मुल्कों की तरक्की में रुकावट न बनें, जहां कनेक्टिविटी की आड़ में सामरिक फायदे न उठाए जाएं और जहां सभी देश साझी समृद्धि के ज्वार में एक साथ तरक्की कर सकें. यूक्रेन युद्ध पर पुतिन का नाम लिये बगैर मोदी ने कहा कि मैं पहले ही सीधे और सार्वजनिक तौर पर कह चुका हूं कि ये जंग का ज़माना नहीं है, बातचीत और कूटनीति का ज़माना है और हम सब को मिल कर कुछ करना चाहिए ताकि खूनखराबा और इंसानी मुसीबतें खत्म हो. पाकिस्तान का नाम लिये बगैर, मोदी ने कहा कि आतंकवाद मानवजाति का दुश्मन है और इस बुराई से निपटने में कोई किन्तु-परन्तु नहीं होना चाहिए. मोदी और बाइडेन के बीच शिखर वार्ता के बाद जारी साझा बयान में कहा गया कि संयुक्त राष्ट्र द्वारा घोषित सभी आतंकवादी संगठनों जैसे अल-कायदा, आएसआईएस, दाएश, जैशे मुहम्मद, लश्कर ए तैयबा और हिजबुल मुजाहिदीन के खिलाफ एकजुट होकर कार्रवाई होनी चाहिए. बाइडेन के साथ साझा प्रेस कांफ्रेंस में जब एक अमेरिकी पत्रकार ने भारत के अल्पसंख्यकों के बारे में सवाल किया तो मोदी ने उत्तर दिया – “मुझे आश्चर्य हो रहा है कि आप कह रही हैं कि लोग कहते हैं. लोग कहते हैं नहीं, भारत लोकतंत्र है, जैसा कि राष्ट्रपति बाइडेन ने कहा कि भारत और अमेरिका दोनों के डीएनए में लोकतंत्र है. लोकतंत्र हमारा आधार है. हमारी रगों में है. हम लोकतंत्र को जीते हैं. हमारे पूर्वजों ने लोकतंत्र को शब्दों में ढाला है, संविधान के रूप में. हमारी सरकार लोकतंत्र के मूलभूत मूल्यों को आधार लेकर के बने संविधान के आधार पर चल रही है. हमने सिद्ध किया है कि हम लोकतंत्र के ज़रिए डिलीवर कर रहे हैं. जब मैं डिलीवर कहता हूं. तब जाति, धर्म, लिंग किसी भी भेदभाव के लिए वहां जगह नहीं होती.” मोदी की अमेरिका यात्रा के बारे में सबसे सही बात अमेरिकी उपराष्ट्रपति कमला हैरिस ने ट्विटर पर लिखी. उन्होने लिखा – “भारत-अमेरिका साझेदारी पहले से कहीं ज्यादा मजबूत है. यह 21वीं सदी की सबसे महत्वपूर्ण साझेदारियों में से एक है. यह यात्रा हमारी साझेदारी को एक ऊंचे स्तर तक ले जाएगी, अंतरिक्ष से लेकर रक्षा, नयी उभरती टेकनोलोजी और सप्लाई चेन तक.” आऱिक नरेंद3 मोदी ने वाशिंगटन में अपने मेजबानों को कैसे साधा ? हमने व्हाइट हाउस में मोदी की यात्रा की तस्वीरें देखीं. ये तो पूरी तरह सुनियोजित था. राजकीय यात्रा में एक – एक कदम नपा तुला होता है, लेकिन कल शाम प्रेसिडेंट बाइडन और उनकी पत्नी जिल ने जिस गर्मजोशी से मोदी का स्वागत किया वो कमाल की बात है. बाइडन परिवार ने मोदी के व्हाइट हाउस आगमन को घर पर आये अतिथि जैसा बनाया. पूरे आयोजन पर व्यक्तिगत रूप से ध्यान दिया गया. जिस तरह से जिल बाइडेन ने नरेंद्र मोदी के शाकाहारी खाने का ध्यान रखा, वो भी एक बड़ी बात है. मोदी शराब नहीं पीते, पानी पी कर टोस्ट करते हैं, पर डिनर पर जो लोग आए थे उनके लिए पटेल वाइन सर्व की गई जो कैलिफॉर्निया में बनती है. व्हाइट हाउस में इतनी छोटी छोटी बात का ख्याल रखा गया, ये बड़ी बात है. मोदी ने भी अपनी तरफ से जिस तरह की गिफ्ट बाइडन परिवार को दी उसमें उनका पर्सलन टच था. ये मोदी की संबंध बनाने की कला का एक नमूना है, लेकिन रिश्ते बनाना और उन्हें निभाना ये मोदी का स्वभाव है. मोदी दुनिया में अकेले ऐसे नेता हैं जिन्होंने पहले बराक ओबामा, फिर डोनाल्ड ट्रंप और अब जो बाइडेन के साथ तीनों के राष्ट्रपति रहते, उन के साथ पारिवारिक रिश्ते बनाए. मुझे याद है 2019 में चुनाव के मौके पर सलाम इंडिया शो के दौरान मैंने मोदी से पूछा था कि उन्होंने अमेरिका जैसे ताकतवर देश के राष्ट्रपति के साथ रिश्ते कैसे बनाए. उस दिन उन्होंने पूरी बात बताई. आज भी उन्होंने व्हाइट हाउस में अपने भाषण में जिक्र किया कि 30 साल पहले वे एक साधारण इंसान की तरह बाहर से व्हाइट हाउस को देखने गए थे और इसके बाद जब प्रधानमंत्री बनने के बाद वो बराक ओबामा से मिलने पहली बार व्हाइट हाउस के अंदर गए तो ओबामा ने जिस तरह का अपनापन दिखाया वो उन्होंने कभी सोचा भी नहीं था. ओबामा के साथ पारिवरिक रिश्ते अपने आप नहीं बने, इसके लिए मोदी ने प्रयास किया. दूसरा उन्होंने बताया कि जब वो पहली बार ट्रंप से मिले तो वो व्हाइट हाउस में 9 घंटे ट्रंप के साथ रहे. डोनाल्ड ट्रंप ने उन्हें पूरा व्हाइट हाइस दिखाया. मोदी ने उस दिन मुझे बताया था कि अब्राहम लिंकन जिस कमरे में रहते थे, ट्रंप उन्हें वहां लेकर गए और बिना कोई कागज देखे अपनी याददाश्त के दम पर ट्रंप ने मोदी को बताया कि वहां क्या क्या हुआ था, कौन कौन से समझौते साइन हुए थे. इसके बाद ट्रंप मोदी को अपना कमरा दिखाने ले गए और दोनों के बीच पारिवारिक रिश्ता कायम हुआ. और मुझे याद है कि बाद में जब ट्रंप भारत आए और मोदी उन्हें क्रिकेट स्टेडियम में मौजूद 1 लाख लोगों के सामने ले गए उस नजारे को डोनाल्ड ट्रंप कभी नहीं भूल पाए. वो बार बार उसका जिक्र करते थे. दोस्त बनाने की, रिश्ते जोड़ने की मोदी की खासियत देश के काम आती है. रिश्तों में जब मजबूती होती है, गर्मजोशी होती है, तो इसका असर औपचारिक वार्ता के समय दिखाई देता है और आज बाइडन और मोदी के बीच जो औपचारिक मुलाकात हुई उसमें इसका असर दिखाई दिया.
विपक्षी बैठक : ताना-बाना लालू ने बुना
2024 के लोकसभा चुनावों में मोदी और बीजेपी को हराने के इरादे से आज पटना में विपक्षी पार्टियों के बड़े नेताओं की बैठक हुई . बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार द्वारा आयोजित इस बैठक में मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे, राहुल गांधी, ममता बनर्जी, लालू प्रसाद यादव, तेजस्वी यादव, अरविन्द केजरीवाल, भगवन्त मान, एम के स्टालिन, शरद पवार, उद्धव ठाकरे, हेमंत सोरेन, अखिलेश यादव, उमर अब्दुल्ला, महबूबा मुफ्ती, सीताराम येचुरी, डी. राजा और अन्य नेताओं ने शिरकत की. बहुजन समाज पार्टी की अध्यक्ष मायावती को इस बैठक के लिए नहीं बुलाया जया, जबकि राष्ट्रीय लोक दल के जयन्त चौधरी बैठक में आ नहीं सके. बैठक में तय हुआ कि सभी पार्टियां मिल कर चुनाव लडेंगी और 10 या 12 जुलाई को शिमला में फिर एक बैठक होगी. बीजेपी नेताओं ने इसे ठगों का गठबंधन बताया, जबकि गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने कहा कि ये तो महज एक फोटो सेशन था, और मोदी 2024 में फिर से प्रधानमंत्री बनेंगे और बीजेपी को 543 में से 300 से ज्यादा सीटें मिलेगी. बैठक से एक दिन पहले गुरुवार को ममता बनर्जी लालू प्रसाद यादव से मिलने उनके घर गईं. जब लालू यादव ममता बनर्जी से मिले तो एक लंबे अरसे के बाद लालू के चेहरे पर वही पुरानी शरारत वाली मुस्कान दिखाई दी जिसके लिए वो मशहूर हैं. पटना में विरोधी दलों के नोताओं की बैठक भले ही नीतीश कुमार ने बुलाई हो, पर इस मीटिंग का ताना बाना लालू यादव ने बुना है. जो नेता पटना में इकट्ठे हुए, उन सबके लालू यादव से पुराने और अच्छे रिश्ते हैं. सब जानते हैं कि लालू पहले दिन से मोदी विरोधी रहे हैं. उन्होंने कभी अपना स्टैंड नहीं बदला, लेकिन नीतीश कुमार के बारे में ये बात नहीं कही जा सकती. वो तो दो – दो बार मोदी के साथ हाथ मिलाकर अपनी सरकार बना चुके हैं. ज़ाहिर है, जो लोग मोदी के खिलाफ मोर्चा बनाने के लिए मिल रहे हैं वो नीतीश पर उतना भरोसा नहीं कर सकते. विरोधी दलों की इस एकता में एक और कमजोरी दिखाई दी अरविंद केजरीवाल के नाम पर. अरविंद केजरीवाल ने दिल्ली और पंजाब में अकेले अपने दम पर चुनाव जीते, कांग्रेस और बीजेपी जैसी बड़ी पार्टियों को बिल्कुल उखाड़कर फेंक दिया. पिछले कुछ महीनों में केजरीवाल ने शरद पवार, केसीआर और ममता बनर्जी जैसे नेताओं से रिश्ते बनाए हैं, इसलिए कांग्रेस केजरीवाल पर भरोसा नहीं करती. लेकिन विरोधी दलों की एकता के मामले में चाहे जितनी समस्याएं हों, देश की राजनीति में ये बड़ा डेवलपमेंट हैं. 18 विरोधी दलों के जो नेता इकट्ठे हो रहे हैं उनमें आपस में कितने भी झगड़े हों वो मोदी को हराने के लिए एक साथ आए, ये बड़ी बात है. ये सब नेता जानते हैं, इस बार अस्तित्व की लड़ाई है. सबको लगता है कि एक बार मोदी से निपट लें, आपस के झगड़े बाद में सुलझा लेंगे.
USA VISIT : MODI’S PERSONAL TOUCH
Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the first Indian leader to address the joint session of US Congress twice on Thursday. In his historic address, Modi did not name China, Russia or Pakistan, but put forth India’s views on Ukraine war, Taiwan and terrorism succinctly, drawing applause from American lawmakers. There were 15 standing ovations and 79 applauses during the PM’s speech. Without naming China, Modi said, “dark clouds of coercion and confrontation are casting their shadow in Indo-Pacific.” He called for making Indo-Pacific “ a region where all nations, small and large, are free and fearless in their choices, where progress is not suffocated by an impossible burden of debt, where connectivity is not leveraged for strategic purposes, where all nations are lifted by the high tide of shared prosperity”. Similarly, on Ukraine war, Modi, without naming Putin, said, “I have said directly and publicly, this is not an era of war, but it is one of dialogue and diplomacy and we all must do what we can to stop bloodshed and human suffering.” In an oblique attack on Pakistan, Modi said, “Terrorism is an enemy of humanity and there can be ‘no is or buts’ in dealing with the scourge.” In the India-US joint statement released after Modi-Biden talks, both the leaders called for “concerted action against all UN-listed terrorist groups including al-Qaeda, ISIS/Daesh, Lashkar-e-Tayyiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.” At the joint press conference with Biden, Modi, replying to a question about rights of minorities in India, minced no words, and said, “India is a democracy, and as President Biden said, democracy is in the DNA of both India and America. Democracy is in our spirit. Democracy flows in our veins. We live democracy…We have proved that democracy can deliver, and when I say deliver, it means there is no place for discrimination on grounds of caste, creed, gender, religion or geographical location”. The most significant remark about Modi’s US visit came on Twitter from none other than US Vice President Kamala Harris. She said, “US-India partnership is stronger than ever. ..The partnership is one of the most important of the 21st century, and this visit will take our partnership to the next level from space to defense, to emerging technology and supply chains.” How did Narendra Modi manage to charm his hosts in Washington? From the visuals that we saw throughout Modi’s state visit, every minutest detail was pre-planned. At dinner, the manner in which President Joe Biden and the First Lady Jill Biden welcomed Modi, was really charming. The Biden family made Modi’s White House visit as if he was visiting a friend’s home. Jill Biden brought in Chef Nina Curtis, a specialist in plant-based cuisine, who showcased the best in American cuisine, seasoned with Indian elements and flavors. It was the first time in recent history that the White hosted a state dinner that was entirely plant-based: no meat, no dairy and no eggs, keeping in mind that Modi is a strict vegetarian. Since Modi is a teetotaller who normally raises a toast with water, Patel Red Wine from California was served to guests. Each minutest detail was taken care of in the White House. Modi, on his part, brought gifts with a personal touch for the First family. He gifted a special sandalwood box from Mysuru crafted in Jaipur containing a silver idol of Lord Ganesh, an oil lamp, a copper plate and 10 silver boxes that contained symbols – Das Danam or the 10 donations, that included salt, ghee, silver coin, gold coin, jaggery, rice, sesame seeds, tusser cloth, handcrafted silver coconut and a sandalwood piece. This is Modi’s style of putting his personal touch. He has the knack of striking personal relationship. Modi is the world’s only leader who struck family friendship with three US Presidents – Barack Obama, Donald Trump and Joe Biden. I remember, in my ‘Salaam India’ show in 2019, I had asked Modi, how he made friendship with the powerful presidents of America. He told me, as a common Indian tourist 30 years ago, he had visited the White House and stood outside to watch the US President’s residence. Modi repeated the same in his speech at the White House on Thursday. Modi also told me how President Obama took personal care, which he never expected, when he first entered the White House as Prime Minister of India. He continued to maintain friendly relations with the Obama family. Modi also told me, when he visited the White House again, he spent nine hours with Donald Trump in the official residence. Trump took him on a trip around the White House, showed him the room where Abraham Lincoln stayed, and without going through a single piece of paper, spoke about what happened in the past there, the agreements that were signed. Trump showed Modi his personal rooms and the two struck a family relationship. I remember, when Trump came to India, Modi took him to the Ahmedabad stadium packed with nearly one lakh people, an event which Trump still remembers. In later days, Trump used to mention his Ahmedabad event frequently to others. Striking personal friendship with world leaders helps a country in matters of state too. The warmth in relations is reflected in official and formal talks. It had its effect on the officials talks that Modi and Biden had on Thursday.
OPPOSITION MEETING : LALU IS THE STRATEGIST
The first meeting to forge a common opposition front against Narendra Modi in 2024 general elections took place in Patna on Friday with top leaders of most of the anti-Modi parties attending. Hosted by Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar in his official residence, the meeting was attended by Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, Lalu Prasad Yadav, his son Tejashwi, Arvind Kejriwal, M K Stalin, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Bhagwant Mann, Hemant Soren, Akhilesh Yadav, Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, Sitaram Yechury, D. Raja and others. BSP supremo Mayawati was not invited, and RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary did not attend. BJP leaders promptly described this as “a gathbandhan of thugs”, while Home Minister Amit Shah dismissed the meeting as a “photo session”. Shah said, Modi will become the PM again in 2024 and the BJP will win more than 300 out of 543 Lok Sabha seats. A day before, Mamata Banerjee called on Lalu Prasad at the latter’s residence. After a long time, I noticed the typically mischievous smile on Lalu’s face that has been his trademark for years. Nitish Kumar may be the host, but the main strategist behind this conclave is none other than Lalu Prasad. Most of the leaders assembling in Patna have good relations with Lalu Prasad. Since Day One, Lalu Prasad has been opposing Modi and he never changed his political stand. But, the same thing cannot be said about Nitish Kumar. He ran governments in Bihar twice by joining hands with BJP. Naturally, leaders who gathered at the conclave to forge an anti-Modi front, cannot trust Nitish completely. Another weak link in the opposition parties’ move appears to be Arvind Kejriwal. The AAP supremo won both Delhi and Punjab assembly polls on his own, toppling big parties like BJP and Congress. Kejriwal has struck relationships with Sharad Pawar, K Chandrashekhar Rao and Mamata Banerjee recently, but Congress cannot trust Kejriwal. Whatever may be the obstacles in the path of opposition unity, this is a big development in national politics. Leaders of 18 opposition parties gathering inside a room for four hours, despite numerous quarrels among them, with the sole aim of defeating Modi, is, in itself, a big development. These leaders and their partymen know that this is a fight for existence. Almost all of them feel that once Modi is toppled, they can iron out their differences later.
चीन मोदी के अमेरिका दौरे को लेकर परेशान क्यों है ?
व्हाइट हाउस में प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को औपचारिक स्वागत समारोह से कुछ ही घंटे पहले अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति का कार्यालय से ये कहा गया कि मोदी की यात्रा से “ भारत-प्रशांत क्षेत्र को समृद्ध और सुरक्षित बनाने का साझा संकल्प मजबूत होगा और दुनिया के दो सबसे बड़े लोकतांत्रिक देशों के बीच गहरी और प्रगाढ़ साझेदारी को बल मिलेगा”. मोदी और बाइडेन आज एक साझा प्रेस कांफ्रेंस में भारत को Reaper ड्रोन बेचने के एक बड़े सौदे का ऐलान करने वाले हैं. ये ड्रोन घातक मिसाइलों से लैस है , 50 हजार फीट ऊंचाई तक जा सकता है और 1,746 किलो वज़न का सामान उठा सकता है. ये आसमान में 27 घंटे तक उड़ सकता है. अमेरिका राष्ट्रपति के कार्यालय में बाइडेन और मोदी के बीच औपतारिक वार्ता के कुछ ही घंटे पहले एक अमेरिकी अदिकारी ने ऐलान किया कि NASA और ISRO अंतरिक्ष के क्षेत्र में Artemis Accords के तहत मिल कर काम करेंगे और अगले साल अन्तरराष्ट्रीय अंतरिक्ष स्टेशन की तरफ एक साझा मिशन भेजेंगे. मोदी और बाइडेन के बीच इस ऐतिहासिक शिखर वार्ता के दौरान उस समझौते पर भी मुहर लगेगी, जिसके तहत अमेरिकन कंपनी जनरल इलेक्ट्रिक भारत में लड़ाकू विमानों के लिए GE F414 जेट इंजिन बनाएगा. अमेरिका में प्रधानमंत्री मोदी के अगले 48 घंटे भारत के लिए बहुत महत्वपूर्ण हैं. ये कहना आसान है कि मोदी अमेरिका में जो सौदे करेंगे उससे अमेरिका को ज्यादा फायदा होगा. ये कहना भी सरल है कि अमेरिका भारत का इस्तेमाल अपनी ताकत बढ़ाने के लिए करेगा. सच तो ये है कि भारत ने यूक्रेन युद्ध में निरपेक्ष रहकर दुनिया को बता दिया कि न तो वो किसी के दबाव में आता है, न कोई देश मोदी का इस्तेमाल कर सकता है. जहां तक अमेरिका की जरूरत की बात है, तो अमेरिका को हमारी जितनी जरूरत है, उससे कहीं ज्यादा हमें अमेरिका की जरूरत है. बगैर जरूरत के कोई देश रिश्तों पर इतना वक्त क्यों लगाएगा. उदाहरण के तौर पर भारत की सबसे बड़ी जरूरत है, रोजगार के वसर पैदा करना, इसके लिए इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर में जिस तरीके के निवेश की जरूरत है, जैसे मैन्युफैक्चिंग को बढ़ाने की आवश्यकता है और विश्व व्यापार को बढाने की जरूरत है, इन सब मामलों में अमेरिका की एक बड़ी भूमिका होगी. सिर्फ इसलिए अमेरिका के दौरे का विरोध करना ठीक नहीं होगा कि भारत आर्थिक मोर्चों पर मजबूत हो जाएगा, मोदी को इसका श्रेय मिल जाएगा और चुनाव में उन्हें फायदा हो जाएगा. आज इससे कहीं आगे बढ़कर सोचने की जरूरत है. एक और उदाहरण लें, भारत के सामने सुरक्षा की चुनौती का. ऐसे वक्त में जब हमें चीन से खतरा है, चीन की वैश्विक महत्वाकांक्षाएं हैं, चीन की विस्तारवादी नीति है, अगर भारत को चीन का मुकाबला करना है तो अमेरिका के समर्थन की जरूरत होगी. इसको नकारने से कोई फायदा नहीं होगा. हमारी सशस्त्र सेनाओं को अगर चीन का बेहतर तरीके से मुकाबला करना है तो हथारों का आधुनिकीकरण करना होगा, बेहतर इक्यूप्मेंट और बेहतर इंटेलीजेंस की जरूरत होगी. इस मामले में अमेरिका का अनुभव, अमेरिका की टेक्नोलॉजी हमारे काम आएगी. इसीलिए चीन नरेंद्र मोदी के अमेरिका दौरे को लेकर परेशान है.

बुधवार को न्यूयॉर्क में अमेरिकी में नोबल पुरस्कार विजेता अर्थशास्त्री प्रो. पॉल रोमर, मशहूर एस्ट्रोफिजिसिस्ट और लेखक नील द ग्रास टायसन, टेस्ला के संस्थापक एलन मस्क और अन्य बड़े अमेरिकी कारोबारियों ने भारत के प्रधानमंत्री से मुलाकात के बाद उनकी तारीफ की. ये भारत के लिए गर्व की बात है. अगर नरेंद्र मोदी के प्रयास से यूनाइटेड नेशंस के परिसर में योग का वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड बना तो ये हमारे देश का सम्मान है, मोदी के प्रयास की सफलता है. अगर अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति व्हाइट हाउस में मोदी का दिल खोलकर स्वागत करते हैं, उनके सम्मान में 8 हजार लोगों को आमंत्रित करते हैं, तो ये भारत का स्वागत है, भारत का सम्मान है. अगर भारत के प्रधानमंत्री अमेरिकन कांग्रेस को दूसरी बात संबोधित करते हैं, ऐसा करने वाले वो दुनिया के तीसरे राजनेता बन जाएंगे, तो ये 140 करोड़ भारतीयों का सम्मान है. लेकिन मुझे हैरानी हुई कि देश पर 60 वर्ष से ज्यादा शासन करने वाली कांग्रेस पार्टी को ये सब अच्छा नहीं लगा. पहले कांग्रेस की तरफ से पंडित जवाहर लाल नेहरू का फोटो जारी किया गया जिसमें भारत के पहले प्रधानमंत्री को योग करते हुए दिखाया गया. कांग्रेस ने कहा, देखिए कैसे पंडित नेहरू ने योग को राष्ट्रीय नीति का हिस्सा बनाया. असल में कांग्रेस कहना चाहती है कि योग को दुनिया में स्वीकृत कराने का श्रेय मोदी को क्यों दिया जा रहा है. दिलचस्प बात ये कि कांग्रेस सांसद शशि थरूर ने ही इसका जवाब दे दिया. शशि थरूर ने कहा कि योग को अन्तरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर पहचान दिलाने के लिए प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय और विदेश मंत्रालय ने जबरदस्त प्रयास किया. फिर कांग्रेस ने एक और वीडियो जारी किया जिसमें दिखाया गया कि जब प्रधानमंत्री जवाहर लाल नेहरू दो बार अमेरिका गए तो अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति उन्हें रिसीव करने एयरपोर्ट आए थे. इसके पीछे दबा हुआ संदेश ये है कि देखो, मोदी को रिसीव करने जो बाइडेन नहीं आए. वर्षों तक शासन करने वाली कांग्रेस पार्टी को ये तो पता होना चाहिए कि 1949 से लेकर 2023 के बीच परिस्थितियां कितनी बदल चुकी हैं, सुरक्षा के प्रोटोकॉल कितने बदल चुके हैं, कांग्रेस के नेताओं को न्यूयॉर्क में ‘मोदी मोदी’ के नारे अच्छे नहीं लगे, न ही अमेरिका के जाने-माने लोगों ने मोदी की जो तारीफ की वो रास आई. कांग्रेस की तरफ से एक पत्र जारी किया गया जिसमें अमेरिका के 75 सेनेटर और अन्य सांसदों ने राष्ट्रपति बाइडेन से कहा कि जब वो मोदी से मिलें तो भारत में बढ़ती धार्मिक असहिष्णुता और प्रेस फ्रीडम जैसे विषयों पर बात करें, लेकिन न तो भारत सरकार ने, न ही अमेरिका ने इस बात पर या इस चिट्ठी पर कोई रिएक्शन दिया. अमेरिका की नेशनल सिक्य़ोरिटी काउंसिल के प्रवक्ता जॉन किर्बी ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी का ये अमेरिका दौरा दोनों देशों के बीच रिश्तों का एक नया इतिहास लिखेगा.
WHY CHINA IS WORRIED ABOUT MODI’S USA TRIP?
Hours before the formal welcome ceremony for Prime Minister Narendra Modi on White House lawns, the White House said today that the official state visit of the Indian PM will “strengthen the shared commitment to a prosperous and secure Indo-Pacific region and affirm deep and close partnership between the two largest democracies of the world”. Modi and US President Joe Biden will announce today a mega deal for purchase of General Atomics MQ-9 ‘Reaper’ armed drones, that can operate up to 50,000 feet carrying 1,746 kg payload capacity and can stay in air for over 27 hours. Hours before the official meeting between Modi and Biden in the Oval Office on Thursday, a senior US administration official announced that India has decided to join the Artemis Accords under which NASA and ISRO have agreed to a joint mission to International Space Station in 2024. The historic Modi-Biden summit will also result in an unprecedented deal on co-producing GE F414 jet engines for fighter aircraft in India. The next 36 hours of Modi’s stay in the US will be very important for India. It is easy to argue that the US wants to “use” India for increasing its might and American companies will benefit from defence deals. The ground reality is that India, by adopting a neutral stance in Ukraine war, has shown to the world that it does not work under any external pressure, nor can any country use Modi to its own advantage. India needs the USA more than American needs India. Why would a country spend so much of its time if it has no need? Let me give one example. India needs to create more jobs, needs more investments in infrastructure sector, increase its manufacturing capacity and expand its global trade. US can play a big role in all these sectors. It would be incorrect on part of the opposition to oppose Modi’s US visit only because the Indian PM will get most of the credit and this can help him in next year’s general elections. Today we must think beyond that. Let me give another example. India faces security challenges at a time when we face threat from China, which has global ambitions. China is working on territorial expansion, and if India has to counter China, it may need American support. There is no point rejecting US help. If our armed forces have to counter China properly, our armed forces need modern weapons, better equipment and state-of-the-art intelligence. American experience and technology can help us in this field. This is the reason why China is worried about Modi’s USA trip.
CONGRESS REACTION ON MODI’S US TRIP IS SURPRISING
In New York, when top American business tycoons, Nobel prize winner economist, astrophysicist and thought leaders praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, it was a proud moment for India. Modi also took part in International Day of Yoga celebration on the lawns of United Nations headquarters with participants from more than 130 countries, which included diplomats and celebrities. It was a Guinness Book world record. It was a vindication of Modi’s constant efforts to popularize Yoga across the world. If the US President invites 8,000 people to the White House lawns to welcome Modi, it is a moment of pride for India. When Prime Minister Modi goes to address the US Congress for the second time, it is an honour for 143 crore Indians. But I was surprised when the Congress party, which ruled India for more than 60 years, raised objections. Congress posted a picture of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru doing Yoga and wrote: “On International Day of Yoga, we thank Pandit Nehru, who was instrumental in popularising Yoga and even made it a part of national policy. Let us appreciate the importance of the ancient art and philosophy in our physical and mental wellbeing and take steps to incorporate it in our lives.” Indirectly, Congress is asking why credit is being given to Narendra Modi for getting world recognition for Yoga. It was Congress MP Shashi Tharoor who tweeted his reply to his own party: “Indeed! We should also acknowledge all those who revived and popularised yoga, including our government @PMOIndia and @MEAIndia for internationalising International Yoga Day through the UN. As I have argued for decades, yoga is a vital part of our soft power across the world and it’s great to see it recognized.” The Congress Party then tweeted a video showing how US Presidents received the then PM Jawaharlal Nehru when he visited the US twice. The tweet probably sought to underline the fact that US President Biden did not go to the airport to receive Modi. Congress, which has ruled India for decades, must know that conditions have changed since 1949 and it is 2023. Security protocols have changed. Congress leaders did not like NRIs chanting ‘Modi Modi’ slogans, nor US thought leaders and business tycoons praising Modi. In response, Congress released a letter signed by 75 US Senators and Congressmen urging Biden to raise issues relating to religious intolerance and press freedom during his conversations with Modi. Neither Indian nor the US government reacted to this letter. US National Security Council coordinator John Kirby said, Modi’s US visit will “affirm the strong ties between our two countries and elevate our strategic partnership. …US supports India’s emergence as a great power.”
मोदी की अमेरिका यात्रा : भारत के लिए गर्व का क्षण
पूरी दुनिया की निगाहें इस वक्त प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अमेरिका यात्रा पर है. यात्रा के पहले चरण में न्यूयॉर्क पहुंचने के बाद मोदी ने अमेरिका के बड़े उद्योगपतियों और अर्थशास्त्रियों से मुलाकात की और उन्हें भारत की विकास यात्रा के बारे में बताया. दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी इलेक्ट्रिक कार कंपनी टेस्ला और सोशल मीडिया कंपनी ट्विटर के मालिक एलन मस्क ने मोदी से मुलाकात के बाद माना कि वे मोदी के मुरीद (फैन) हैं क्योंकि भारीय प्रधानमंत्री को हमेशा अपने देश में पूंजीनिवेश की चिंता है. मोदी ने नोबेल पुरस्कार विजेता अर्थशास्त्री प्रो. पॉल रोमर से मुलाकात की और उन्हें बताया कि भारत में कैसे आधार और डिजिलॉकर के ज़रिए डिजिटल क्रांति आई है. मोदी संयुक्त राष्ट्र मुख्यालय में अन्तरराष्ट्रीय योग दिवस उत्सव में हिस्सा लेने के बाद वाशिंगटन जाएंगे जहां उनका औपचारिक स्वागत होगा. भारत और अमेरिका की दोस्ती पुरानी है लेकिन आज के वक्त में दोनों को एक दूसरे की सबसे ज्यादा जरूरत है. अमेरिका को भारत के बढ़ते मार्केट की जरूरत है और भारत को अमेरिका की पूंजी और टेक्नोलॉजी की जरूरत है. भारत के पास मौका है. आज बड़ी – बड़ी मैन्युफैक्चरिंग कंपनियां चीन को छोड़कर प्रोडक्शन के लिए किसी अन्य देश की तलाश में है. जहां अमेरिकी कंपनियों के भारत में आने से हमारी ताकत बढ़ेगी. कुछ साल पहले तक चीन भारत का सबसे बड़ा व्यापारिक भागीदार था, अब चीन के साथ संबंधों में तनाव है. अब भारत और अमेरिका का आपसी व्यापार चीन और भारत के व्यापार का करीब-करीब दुगुना हो गया है. ये अमेरिका के लिए भी फायदे का सौदा है और चीन के लिए परेशानी का सबब है. भारत में आज भी 50 प्रतिशत लोग खेती से जुड़े हैं और मैन्युफैक्चरिंग जीडीपी का 15 प्रतिशत ही है. इसे सुधारने के लिए भारत को अमेरिका की पूंजी और टेक्नोलॉजी की आवश्यकता होगी. एक और नोट करने वाली बात ये है कि अमेरिका में रिपब्लिकन और डेमोक्रेट दोनों भारत को एक स्ट्रेजिक पार्टनर के रूप में देखते हैं. इसलिए विन्स्टन चर्चिल और नेल्सन मंडेला के बाद नरेंद्र मोदी अमेरिकी संसद को दूसरी बार संबोधित करने वाले विश्व नेता बनेंगे. अमेरिका ऐसा सम्मान किसी को भी आसानी से नहीं देता, बिना फायदे के नहीं देता. अमेरिका की सबसे बड़ी जरूरत आर्थिक प्रगति है. उसे चीन के मुकाबले अपनी स्थिति मजबूत करनी है. भारत 140 करोड़ लोगों का मुल्क है. अमेरिका की बहुत सारी कंपनियां भारत पर निर्भर करती हैं. अमेरिका की राजनीति में भी भारतीयों का रोल है. अमेरिका में भारतीय मूल के 50 लाख लोग रहते हैं. आज अमेरिका की बड़ी बड़ी कंपनियों के सीईओ भारतीय मूल के लोग हैं. उन सबका अपना प्रभाव क्षेत्र है. अमेरिका में दोनों पार्टियों के राजनेता इस ताकत को बखूबी समझते हैं. इसिलए चीन कह रहा है की अमेरिका भारत का इस्तेमाल कर रहा है , लेकिन चीन भी जानता है कि भारत ने अमेरिका के साथ अपने रिश्ते अपनी शर्तों पर मजबूत किए हैं. भारत ने अमेरिका का समर्थन हासिल करने के लिए अपनी विदेश नीति से समझौता नहीं किया. इसका सबसे बड़ा उदाहरण है यूक्रेन युद्ध को लेकर भारत की नीति. सारी दुनिया ने देखा कि भारत अमेरिका के दबाव में नहीं आया. ये नरेंद्र मोदी की इच्छा शक्ति और हिम्मत वाली कूटनीति का नतीजा है. इसीलिए आने वाले 72 घंटे नरेंद्र मोदी के होंगे. अमेरिका में मोदी-मोदी की गूंज सुनाई देगी. ये भारत के लिए गर्व की बात है.
योग इस्लाम विरोधी नहीं
समाजवादी पार्टी के सांसद शफीकुर रहमान बर्क ने मदरसों में योग कार्यक्रम कराये जाने का विरोध किया है. बर्क का कहना है कि योग दिवस का मदरसों से कोई लेना-देना नहीं है, मदरसों में योग दिवस मनाकर सिर्फ और सिर्फ मुस्लिम बच्चों की तालीम में रुकावट पैदा करने की कोशिश की जा रही है. बर्क ने इसे लेकर सीधे सीधे सरकार पर निशाना साधा, कहा कि सरकार चाहती है कि मुस्लिम बच्चे अपनी मजहबी तालीम हासिल न करें, इसीलिए मदरसों में योग करवाया जा रहा है. शफ़ीक़ुर्रहमान बर्क़ जैसे लोग भले ही मदरसों में योग दिवस मनाने का विरोध करें, लेकिन उनकी जानकारी के लिए बता दूं. दुनिया के करीब 180 देशों में योग दिवस मनाया जाता है, उनमें से 40 से ज़्यादा इस्लामिक मुल्क हैं. पिछले महीने ही 100 से ज्यादा देशों के हज़ारों लोग दुबई एक पार्क में इकट्ठा हुए और योग का वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड बनाया. सऊदी अरब की यूनिवर्सिटी में योग की कक्षाएं भी शुरु हो चुकी हैं, इसलिए मदरसों में योग का विरोध करना कितना बेमानी है, ये बताने की जरूरत नहीं है.
यूपी में माफिया पर योगी का बुलडोज़र
उत्तर प्रदेश में माफिया के खिलाफ एक बार फिर एक्शन शुरू हो गया है. मंगलवार को गोरखपुर में गैंगस्टर राकेश यादव की प्रॉपर्टी को बुलडोज़र से गिरा दिया गया. गोरखपुर विकास प्रधिकरण की टीम पुलिस फोर्स के साथ सुबह मौके पर पहुंची और कुछ ही घंटों में राकेश यादव के अवैध मकान को बुलडोज़र से गिरा दिया. इस मकान की कीमत साढ़े चार करोड़ रुपए बताई जा रही है. राकेश यादव गोरखपुर का नामी हिस्ट्रीशीटर है. उस पर हत्या, रंगदारी और जमीन कब्जा करने जैसे कुल 52 फौजदारी मामले दर्ज हैं. गोरखपुर के टॉप 10 माफियाओं की लिस्ट में उसका नाम है और इस वक्त वो गोरखपुर जिला जेल में बंद है. गोरखपुर विकास प्राधिकरण का कहना है कि जिस मकान को गिराया गया है, उसका नक्शा पास नहीं था. मंगवार को ही आदित्यनाथ की सरकार ने फरार खनन कारोबारी हाजी इकबाल के खिलाफ भी कार्रवाई की. सहारनपुर, नोएडा और लखनऊ में हाजी इकबाल की कई प्रॉपर्टीज़ को प्रशासन ने जब्त कर लिया है. हाजी इकबाल बहुजन समाज पार्टी के पूर्व विधान पार्षद हैं. उन पर अवैध खनन, जमीन कब्जाने ,और गैंगस्टर एक्ट के तहत कुल 47 मुकदमे दर्ज हैं. हाजी इकबाल पर आरोप है कि उन्होंने अवैध खनन करके अकूत दौलत इकट्ठा की है. पुलिस उन्हें काफी वक्त से तलाश कर रही है. उन पर एक लाख रुपए का इनाम भी है. उत्तर प्रदेश में योगी के बुलडोजर का असर ये हुआ है कि गैंगस्टर और हिस्ट्रीशीटर कानून से डरने लगे है. पुलिस के सामने कांपने लगे हैं. एनकाउंटर के डर से तख्ती लटका कर सरेंडर करने आते हैं. उत्तर प्रदेश में कानून और व्यवस्था को ऐसी सख्ती के बगैर दुरुस्त नहीं किया जा सकता था. आम जनता के दिलो दिमाग से माफिया का खौफ खत्म करना, यूपी के गली मोहल्लों में अमन चैन कायम करना बहुत ही मुश्किल काम था. लेकिन योगी आदित्यनाथ ने इसे करके दिखाया. अब तो योगी के विरोधी भी बंद कमरों में उनका लोहा मानते हैं. अब तो दूसरे राज्यों में भी माफिया पर बुलडोजर चलते दिखाई देते हैं. योगी आदित्यनाथ के लिए ये एक बड़ी उपलब्धि है.
MODI’S USA VISIT : A MOMENT OF PRIDE
On a day when US President Joe Biden called Chinese President Xi Jinping “a dictator”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in New York on his first state visit to USA. In New York, Modi met US businessmen including Tesla Inc owner Elon Musk and Bridgewater Hedge Fund co-founder Ray Dalio, noted American economist Paul Romer and other thought leaders and discussed India’s growth story with them. Elon Musk said, Tesla, the world’s largest electric car producer, is looking to make significant investment in India. Musk described himself “a fan” of Modi, and said the Indian prime minister “really cares about India because he is pursuing us to make a significant investment in India”. Modi told economist Prof Paul Romer about India’s digital journey, including use of Aadhar and innovative tools like Digilocker. He also invited Dalio to make further investments in India. After leading International Day of Yoga celebrations at UN headquarters, Modi will reach Washington. India and the US are old friends, and in today’s age, both need each other more. American needs India’s burgeoning market and India needs American capital and technology. Many top US manufacturing companies are now leaving China and are in search of other countries to set up production plants, and India has to grab this opportunity. With the entry of more US investments, India’s economic muscle will become stronger. A few years ago, China was India’s largest trade partner, but after relations became tense due to armed Chinese transgressions on Line of Actual Control, bilateral friendship has taken a nosedive. Now India-US trade has become almost double that of India-China trade. This is a profitable opportunity for the US, and should cause worries for China. Nearly 50 per cent Indians are still connected with agriculture and manufacturing is only 15 pc of India’s GDP. India, therefore, needs US capital and investment in manufacturing sector to give it a boost. One more point to note: both the Republicans and Democrats in the US consider India a strategic partner. It is in this context that Modi will join the ranks of Winston Churchill and Nelson Mandela among world leaders who have addressed the US Congress twice. America never bestows this honour on any world leader without reason. After the Covid pandemic, the USA too needs a big boost in economic growth. It must strengthen its economy vis-à-vis China. India has a population of 140 crore. Many US companies depend on India. Indian-Americans, too, play a key role in US politics. The US will go for Presidential elections next year. CEOs of several top American companies today are of Indian origin. They have their own spheres of influence. Nearly 5 million people of Indian origin live in the US. Many of them play a vital role in American politics. Both the Democrats and Republic politicians in the US realize the strength of Indian Americans. On Tuesday, former Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in an opinion piece in the state-run ‘The Global Times’ wrote: US is “pushing India and ramping up its efforts to harass China’s economic progress”. Yet, even China knows that India has strengthened its relations with the US on its own conditions, and it never compromised its foreign policy to get US support. The latest example is that of India’s position in the Russia-Ukraine war. The entire world saw India did not come under US pressure for applying sanctions against Russia. This was because of Narendra Modi’s strong political will and courageous diplomacy. The coming 72 hours will be Modi’s hours in the US. It is a moment of pride for India.
YOGA IS NOT UN-ISLAMIC
Samajwadi Party MP Shafiqur Rahman Barq has this habit of wading into controversies. On Tuesday, Barq opposed the UP government’s circular for organizing Yoga Day celebrations in all schools including madarsas. Barq said, “what is the need for doing Yoga exercises in madarsas and dargahs? Instead of Yoga Day, we should celebrate ‘Taaleem Day’ (Education Day). The state government wants to create problems in madarsas”. Leaders like Shafiqur Rahman Barq may oppose holding Yoga exercises in madarsas, but for his knowledge, I would like to tell him that Yoga Day is being celebrated in nearly 180 countries of the world, out of which there are more than 40 Islamic countries. Last month, thousands of people from more than 100 countries assembled in a park in Dubai, UAE, and created a world record for performing Yoga. A university in Saudi Arabia has already started Yoga classes. Opposing Yoga is meaningless, and it needs no reiteration.
YOGI GOVT SEIZES, DEMOLISHES PROPERTIES OF GANGSTERS
Gorakhpur Development Authority on Tuesday used bulldozers to demolish the residence of a gangster Rakesh Yadav. His house was built illegally and was worth Rs 4.5 crore. A history-sheeter, there are 52 cases against him, including those of murder, extortion and illegal land grabbing. He is one of the top 10 mafias in Gorakhpur. Presently, he is in Gorakhpur district jail. On Tuesday, Yogi Adityanath’s government seized several properties belonging to absconding mining trader Haji Iqbal in Saharanpur, Noida and Lucknow. He is a former MLC of Bahujan Samaj Party and has 47 cases including those related to illegal mining and land grab. A Rs 1 lakh reward has been declared for information leading to his arrest. In Saharanpur alone, Haji Iqbal owns more than Rs 500 crore worth properties, which have now been seized. UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath has taken strong action against all top gangsters. Most of the criminals now fear police action. Law and order in UP cannot be brought under control without taking stringent action against gangsters. It was a difficult task for Yogi to remove fear from the minds of commoners. Even Yogi’s political rivals now admit in private that the administration has done a good job. Other state governments are also following Yogi’s path.
गीता प्रेस गांधी शांति पुरस्कार की हक़दार है
मुझे इस बात पर हैरानी हुई कि कांग्रेस ने गीता प्रेस, गोरखपुर को गांधी शांति पुरस्कार दिए जाने का विरोध किया. इसका विरोध करने वाले जयराम रमेश भूल गए कि नरसिम्हा राव की सरकार ने गीता प्रेस को सम्मानित किया था. गांधी जी की 125 वीं जयंती के अवसर पर किया था. जयराम रमेश उस समय सरकार से जुड़े हुए थे, तब उनकी चेतना क्यों नहीं जागी ? 100 साल से गीता प्रेस ने श्रीमद् भगवत गीता और रामचरितमानस को जन मानस तक पहुंचाया. गीता प्रेस की मैग्जीन ‘कल्याण’ के लिए महात्मा गांधी लेख लिखते थे, इसके रिकॉर्ड हमने आप को दिखाए हैं. ऐसी गीता प्रेस को गांधी शांति पुरस्कार देना कांग्रेस के लिए मजाक कैसे हो सकता है ? गीता प्रेस, गोरखपुर न तो चंदा मांगती है, न तो विज्ञापन लेती है. जहां हर दिन की शुरुआत प्रार्थना से होती हो, कोई ऐसी संस्था का विरोध कैसे कर सकता है? गीता प्रेस की किताबों में कवर हाथ से चढ़ाए जाते हैं. कवर चढ़ाने वाले चप्पल उतारकर काम करते हैं कोई भी कागज जमीन पर नहीं रखा जाता. जहां इतनी श्रद्धा से काम होता है, अगर उन्हें भी सम्मानित न करें, तो किसको करें ? 100 साल से सनातन संस्कृति का प्रचार प्रसार करने वालों को ये सम्मान बहुत पहले मिलना चाहिए था. जिस गीता प्रेस ने कहा कि वो इस सरकार का प्रशस्ति पत्र तो स्वीकार करेंगे लेकिन 1 करोड़ की राशि नहीं लेंगे, उनकी ऐसी आलोचना का अधिकार जयराम रमेश को किसने दिया? अगर जयराम रमेश से अनजाने में गलती हो गई तो उन्हें भूल स्वीकार करनी चाहिए.
अगर ये उनकी मानसिकता है, उनका सोचा समझा विचार है, तो फिर इसे जनता के फैसले पर छोड़ देना चाहिए. मैं तो जयराम रमेश को धन्यवाद दूंगा, अगर वो गीता प्रेस को पुरस्कार देने का विरोध न करते तो इतना विवाद न होता और हमें भी लोगों को गीता प्रेस, गोरखपुर के बारे में उनके योगदान और श्रद्धा के बारे में इतने विस्तार से बताने का अवसर न मिलता.
आदिपुरूष : दर्शकों की धार्मिक भावनाएं क्यों आहत हुई ?
‘आदिपुरूष’ फिल्म को लेकर देश के कई शहरों में हिन्दू संगठन सिनाम घरों के बाहर प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं. ‘आदिपुरुष’ बनाने वालों का तर्क है कि वो नई पीढ़ी को रामायण से जोड़ना चाहते थे, इसलिए उन्होंने कुछ प्रयोग किए. लेकिन मुझे लगता है कि ये लचर बहाने है, बाद में सोच कर कही गई बातें है. जनता से मार खाने के बाद अब फिल्म के प्रोड्यूसर, डायरेक्टर, राइटर सबको समझ में आ गया है कि उनसे कई सारी गलतियां हुई हैं. वे कुछ डायलॉग तो बदल देंगे, लेकिन फिल्म में कई ऐसे सिक्वेंसेज हैं जो लोगों की भावनाओं को आहत करते हैं. फिल्म बनने के बाद इनको बदलना संभव नहीं होगा. अब फिल्म का स्क्रीन प्ले लिखने वाले और फिल्म के डायलॉग लिखने वाले एक दूसरे पर दोष डाल रहे हैं. इस तरह के भावना प्रधान विषय पर फिल्म बनाने से पहले डायरेक्टर और राइटर को सोचना चाहिए था. राम कथा हमारे देश के लोगों के लिए सिर्फ एक कहानी नहीं है. ये लोगों की आस्था और विश्वास से जुड़ा विषय है. गोस्वामी तुलसीदास रामायण को सरल भाषा में लिखकर अमर हो गए. सैकड़ों साल से गली गली में रामायण का मंच सजता है, कई जगह न एक्टर अच्छे होते हैं, न कॉस्ट्यूम सही होते हैं, न साउंड इफेक्टिव होती है, पर लोग घंटों घंटों तक बैठकर पूरी श्रद्धा के साथ रामलीला देखते हैं. जब रामानंद सागर ने ‘रामायण’ सीरियल बनाया तो लोग सुबह सुबह नहा धोकर टीवी के सामने अगरबत्ती जलाकर भक्ति भावना के साथ प्रभु राम की कथा देखते थे. देश में कितने सारे राम कथा वाचक हैं – मुरारी बापू से लेकर कुमार विश्वास तक. ये भी जब राम कथा सुनाते हैं तो लोग भक्ति के सागर में डूबकर पूरी श्रद्धा के साथ प्रभु राम की कथा सुनते हैं. रामायण लोगों के लिए पावन सीता माता, आज्ञाकारी और पराक्रमी श्रीराम और अनन्य भक्त हनुमान की वो गाथा है, जिसे देश का बच्चा बच्चा जानता है. इसलिए आदिपुरूष को देखने वाले लोग इतने आहत हुए. डायरेक्टर और राइटर को प्रयोग करने का इतना शौक था, तो उन्हें किसी और विषय का चुनाव करना चाहिए था. इतना सब होने के बाद भी मैं चार बातें कहना चाहता हूं. पहली बात, विरोध प्रकट करने के लिए हिंसा करने वाले भगवान राम के अनुयायी नहीं हो सकते, दूसरी, फिल्म पर प्रतिबंध की मांग भी अनुचित है. तीसरी, रामायण तो सबको अपनी बात कहने का अधिकार देती है. चौथी, इसी तरह की फिल्म का इस्तेमाल अपनी राजनीति के लिए करने वाले राजनेता भी राम भक्त नहीं हो सकते. भारत देश में सबको रामायण से सीखना चाहिए कि ये बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत का प्रतीक है.
केदारनाथ में सोना : जांच के नतीजे का इंतज़ार करें
श्री बदरीनाथ केदारनाथ मंदिर कमेटी ने साफ-साफ कहा है कि मंदिर के गर्भगृह में लगे सोने की परत को लेकर कोई घपला नहीं हुआ, कोई गड़बड़ी नहीं हुई, कुछ लोग राजनीतिक साजिश के तहत अफवाह फैला रहे हैं और मंदिर कमेटी को बदनाम करने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं. मंदिर कमेटी का कहना है कि केदारनाथ मंदिर के गर्भगृह में शिवलिंग के चारों तरफ जो जलेरी बनी है, उसमें सोने की परत चढ़ी हुई है. लेकिन पूजा करने की वजह से सोना की परत घिस गई थी, इसलिए दोबारा सोने का वर्क चढ़ाया गया है. सोने की परत खराब न हो, उसको फिर से नुकसान न पहुंचे, इसलिए जलेरी के ऊपर अब acrylic की शीट चढ़ाई गई है. दरअसल केदारनाथ धाम के पुरोहित संतोष त्रिवेदी का एक वीडियो पिछले कुछ दिनों से वायरल है, जिसमें उन्होंने आरोप लगाया है कि केदारनाथ मंदिर के गर्भगृह में लगाया गया सोना पीतल में बदल गया है. संतोष त्रिवेदी का कहना है कि गर्भ गृह में सोने की परत लगाने के नाम पर सवा अरब रुपए का घोटाला हुआ है. पुरोहित का कहना है कि गर्भगृह में तीन महीने पहले सोना लगाया गया लेकिन कुछ महीनों बाद आज जब अंदर गया तो सोना पीतल में बदल गया. आखिरकार क्यों सोने की जांच नहीं हुई, कौन अधिकारी इसका जिम्मेदार है? इस पर मंदिर कमेटी ने कहा कि गर्भगृह की दीवारों और शिवलिंग की जलेरी में सोने की परत चढ़ाने का काम पिछले साल हुआ था. महाराष्ट्र के एक दानदाता ने ये काम करवाया था. मंदिर कमेटी सिर्फ देखरेख कर रही थी. कमेटी का कोई सीधा रोल नहीं था. मंदिर कमेटी का कहना है कि सोने की परत चढ़ाने में सोना और तांबा दोनों का इस्तेमाल हुआ है. कमेटी ने बताया कि गर्भगृह में 23 किलो 777 ग्राम सोना लगाया गया था जिसका बाज़ार भाव करीब 14 करोड़ 38 लाख रुपए है. और सोने के साथ-साथ करीब एक हज़ार किलो तांबे के प्लेट्स का भी इस्तेमाल हुआ, जिसकी कीमत 29 लाख रुपए है. कमेटी के अध्यक्ष अजेन्द्र अजय ने कहा कि जो लोग कह रहे हैं कि सोना पीतल में बदल गया, वो गलत आरोप लगा रहे हैं, गर्भगृह में सोने की परत चढ़ाई गई है और उसमें तांबे का भी इस्तेमाल हुआ है. उत्तराखंड के पर्यटन मंत्री सतपाल महाराज ने कहा कि मंदिर के गर्भगृह में कितना सोना लगाया गया, उसमें और क्या-क्या इस्तेमाल किया गया, इसकी जांच हो रही है, सच बहुत जल्द सामने आएगा. केदारनाथ धाम करोड़ों हिंदुओं की आस्था का केंद्र है, पवित्र 12 ज्योतिर्लिंगो में से एक है. उस पवित्र धाम को लेकर ऐसे घपले का आरोप लगना गंभीर है. उत्तराखंड सरकार ये बात अच्छी तरह समझती है. चूंकि मंत्री सतपाल महाराज ने कहा है कि जांच कराई जा रही है, तो ये अच्छा कदम है, लेकिन जांच अच्छी तरह और निष्पक्ष होनी चाहिए और जब तक जांच पूरी नहीं होती तब तक सभी को धैर्य रखना चाहिए. बेहतर होगा कि जांच पूरी होने तक इसे बड़े विवाद का रूप न दिया जाए.
GITA PRESS : WELL DESERVED AWARD
I am surprised why Congress has opposed the award of Gandhi Peace Prize to Gita Press, Gorakhpur. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has probably forgotten that it was Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao’s government, which had honoured Gita Press on Mahatma Gandhi’s 125th birth anniversary. It was Rao’s government which issued a postage stamp in 1992 to honour Hanuman Prasad Poddar on his centenary. Poddar was the founding editor of ‘Kalyan’ magazine published by Gita Press. During Narasimha Rao’s regime, Jairam Ramesh was made Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission. Why wasn’t his conscience got pricked at that time? Gita Press has been doing yeoman’s service since the last 100 years by publishing Bhagwat Gita, Ramcharitmanas and Ramayana at affordable prices for the common people. Mahatma Gandhi used to write articles for ‘Kalyan’ magazine. For Jairam Ramesh to say that Gita Press “had stormy relations with the Mahatma” and that “the decision is really a travesty and is like awarding Savarkar and Godse” is really strange. Gita Press neither seeks donations nor advertisements. This is an institution where work begins every morning with prayers. How can anybody oppose this institution? Those staff who put covers on religious books printed in Gita Press, take off their shoes before doing so, and the paper used for printing religious books is never kept on the floor. If those who work with such devotion are not awarded, then whom should we honour? Gita Press has been working for popularizing Sanatan culture the world over. It should have been honoured long ago. Gita Press has said it will accept the Gandhi Peace Prize commendation certificate, but will not take Rs 1 crore prize money. Why did Jairam Ramesh criticize such an august institution? I would rather thank Jairam Ramesh. Had he not opposed this, there would have been no controversy, and we would not have got the chance to tell people in detail about the contribution and devotion of Gita Press owners and its staff in Gorakhpur.
‘ADIPURUSH’ : WHY CINEGOERS FELT OFFENDED
With Hindu outfits staging protests outside cinema theatres screening ‘Adipurush’, there is raging controversy over the manner in which the characters of Lord Ram, Ravana, Sita and Hanuman have been depicted in the movie, along with dialogues which are offensive. The makers of ‘Adipurush’ argue that they did some ‘experiments’ in order to kindle interest in the new generation about the story of Ramayana. But I consider these as lame excuses and afterthoughts. After nationwide protests from cinegoers, the procuer, director and screenplay writer of the movie have realize the humungous mistakes that they have committed. They may change some of the offensive dialogues, but there are several such sequences in the movie which hurt the sentiments of the people. Since the movie has been completed, it will not be possible to make changes in sequences. Now the screenplay writer and dialogue writer are blaming each other. The director and writer should have given careful thought before making a movie on such an emotional topic. For millions of Indians, the legend of Rama is not just a story. It is connected with the faith and trust of people. Goswami Tulsi Das became immortal by writing Ramcharit Manas in a simple language understood by people in north India. For hundreds of years, Ram Leela has been enacted in streets and public places, and in most of them the actors are neither good, nor do they have proper costumes or good sound effect. Yet millions of people sit for hours and days and watch with devotion, as the story of Ram unfolds on the dais. When Ramanand Sagar made the TV serial ‘Ramayan’, people used to take early morning bath, light incense sticks in front of TV sets to watch the life and times of Lord Ram. There are so many Ram Katha exponents from Murari Bapu to Kumar Vishwas, whom lakhs of devotees listen when they explain the different nuances about the life and times of Lord Ram. For millions of devotees, Sita is the Mother, Ram is brave and obedient, and Hanuman is the ultimate devotee. Their stories are known to almost every child living in this ancient land. This is the reason why millions of cine goers got offended and insulted when they watched ‘Adipurush’ movie on screen. If the director and writer wanted to do ‘experiments’, they should have taken up some other topic and should not have fiddled with the intrinsic sense of devotion that emanates from Ram Katha. Here, I want to make four points: One, those vandalizing cine theatres as mark of protest cannot be true devotees of Lord Ram, Two, the demand for ban on the movie is unjustified, Three, Ramayana gives everybody the right to express one’s view. Four, politicians who use this movie to grind their own axe cannot be true Ram Bhakt (devotee). Everybody in India knows that the main storyline of Ramayana is, Triumph of Good over Evil.
KEDARNATH GOLD : WAIT FOR THE PROBE TO END
The chairman of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, Ajendra Ajay, has described allegations being made on social media platforms that the gold plating of the sanctum sanctorum of Kedarnath shrine is actually brass, as “vicious political conspiracy”. The short videos show workers pulling out tin cans with ‘gold wash’ written on the lids. Santosh Trivedi, a priest in Kedarnath shrine, who is also the vice-president of Tirth Purohit Panchayat, has alleged a multi-crore scam in the gold plating of the shrine’s inner walls. The temple committee chairman clarified that gold plating was done by a donor from Maharashtra, in which 23.777 kg gold (market rate Rs 14.38 crore) was used with nearly 1,000 kg of copper plates as the base (cost Rs 29 lakhs). , who had asked jewellers to prepare copper plates as a base for plating. He said there was no scam in gold plating and the work was done under supervision of Archaeological Survey of India. Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said, investigation is one to determine how much gold and other metal was used in Kedarnath shrine, and facts will be revealed shortly. Kedarnath shrine is a centre of pilgrimage for millions of Hindu devotees. It is one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas. Since the allegations are serious, and since the minister says, investigation is on, people must wait for the outcome of the probe.
‘आप की अदालत’ में भगवंत मान
पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान इस हफ्ते ‘आप की अदालत’ में मेरे मेहमान थे। शो में उन्होंने अपनी दूसरी शादी, शराब की लत, गायक सिद्धू मूसेवाला की जघन्य हत्या, पंजाब में नशीले पदार्थों के सेवन, अलगाववादी खालिस्तानी तत्वों के उदय और तमाम अन्य मुद्दों से जुड़े कई सवालों के जवाब दिए। मान एक दिग्गज कॉमेडियन के रूप में पंजाब में सुर्खियों में आए और सक्रिय राजनीति में शामिल होने के बाद उनकी लोकप्रियता और बढ़ गई। शो में उन्होंने पंजाबी गाने गाकर भी अपना हुनर दिखाया। उन्होंने मशहूर गायक जसबीर जस्सी से भी, जो कि मेरे शो के जज थे, एक लोकप्रिय गीत गवाया। भगवंत मान के साथ ‘आप की अदालत’ आप आज रात 10 बजे इंडिया टीवी पर देख सकते हैं।
बाधाओं का सामना कर रही विपक्षी एकता की कोशिशें
बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार ने 23 जून को पटना में कांग्रेस सहित सभी विपक्षी दलों की एक बैठक बुलाई है, लेकिन विपक्षी एकता बनाने के उनके प्रयासों में पहले से ही मुश्किलें पेश आ रही हैं। नीतीश के सहयोगी जीतनराम मांझी, जो हिंदुस्तानी आवाम पार्टी के प्रमुख हैं, महागठबंधन से बाहर हो गए हैं, और मांझी के बेटे ने बिहार मंत्रिमंडल से इस्तीफा दे दिया है। यूपी में ओम प्रकाश राजभर एनडीए में शामिल होने की कगार पर हैं। पिछले दिनों उन्होंने यूपी के सीएम योगी आदित्यनाथ से गुपचुप तरीके से मुलाकात की थी। सुहेलदेव भारतीय समाज पार्टी के प्रमुख के रूप में, राजभर ने समाजवादी पार्टी के सुप्रीमो अखिलेश यादव को एक चुनौती दी है कि वह पहले बसपा सुप्रीमो मायावती, RLD चीफ जयंत चौधरी को यूपी में एक मंच पर लाने की कोशिश करें और फिर विपक्षी एकता की बात करें। कांग्रेस ने साफ-साफ कह दिया है कि वह लोकसभा चुनाव में आम आदमी पार्टी के साथ दिल्ली और पंजाब में कोई समझौता नहीं करेगी, और AAP को जहां कांग्रेस के खिलाफ उम्मीदवार उतारने हैं, उतार दे। वहीं, आम आदमी पार्टी की तरफ से कहा गया कि कांग्रेस के पास न नेता हैं, न नीति, और न ही भविष्य का कोई आइडिया, और कांग्रेस मैनिफेस्टो बनाने के लिए AAP से आइडिया चुराती है। पंजाब के सीएम भगवंत मान ने ‘आप की अदालत’ शो में मुझसे कहा कि कांग्रेस विलुप्त होने के कगार पर है और यह जल्द ही किस्से-कहानियों का हिस्सा बन जाएगी। उन्होंने पूछा, दिल्ली में ‘शून्य’ विधायक और ‘शून्य’ सांसद वाली पार्टी AAP के साथ मुकाबला करने के बारे में कैसे सोच सकती है? इस बीच तृणमूल कांग्रेस सुप्रीमो ममता बनर्जी ने कांग्रेस के लिए एक शर्त रख दी है। उन्होंने कहा है कि अगर कांग्रेस तृणमूल के साथ गठबंधन का हिस्सा बनना चाहती है तो उसे लेफ्ट का साथ छोड़ना पड़ेगा। ममता बनर्जी ने लेफ्ट के साथ किसी तरह के गठबंधन को खारिज किया है। तृणमूल जैसे क्षेत्रीय दलों की शर्तों, और बिहार एवं यूपी में छोटी जाति-आधारित पार्टियों के विपक्षी एकता की कवायद से दूरी बनाने की वजह से, नीतीश कुमार के लिए विपक्षी दलों को एक पेज पर लाने का लक्ष्य हासिल करना मुश्किल लग रहा है।
बंगाल पंचायत चुनावों में हिंसा
पश्चिम बंगाल से अभी भी हिंसा और बम हमलों की खबरें आ रही हैं, जहां कुछ समय बाद पंचायत चुनाव होने वाले हैं। दक्षिण 24-परगना में शुक्रवार को बीजेपी के एक कार्यकर्ता के घर पर हमला किया गया, जबकि मुर्शिदाबाद में तृणमूल कांग्रेस के एक स्थानीय नेता की हत्या कर दी गई। बीरभूम, भांगर और दक्षिण 24-परगना में बड़ी मात्रा में देसी बम बरामद किए गए हैं। अपने पार्टी कार्यकर्ता के घर गए पश्चिम बंगाल बीजेपी के प्रमुख सुकांत मजूमदार ने बंगाल के हालात की तुलना अफगानिस्तान के साथ की। पश्चिम बंगाल के राज्यपाल सी. वी. आनंद बोस ने दक्षिण 24-परगना का दौरा किया और आम लोगों से बात की। उन्होंने अधिकारियों को हिंसा में शामिल लोगों के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई करने का निर्देश दिया। बंगाल से हिंसा की जो तस्वीरें आई हैं, वे लोकतंत्र के लिए शर्मनाक हैं। बंगाल में चुनाव के दौरान हिंसा कोई नई बात नहीं है। तृणमूल कांग्रेस के नेता यह कहकर मन बहलाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं कि थोड़ी बहुत हिंसा हुई है, और बहुत कम लोगों की जान गई है। ममता बनर्जी हिंसा के लिए बीजेपी और लेफ्ट के साथ-साथ कांग्रेस को भी हिंसा के लिए जिम्मेदार ठहरा रही हैं। यह हैरानी की बात है, क्योंकि इस वक्त विरोधी दल एकता की बातें कर रहे हैं। वह 23 जून को पटना में विपक्षी नेताओं की बैठक में शामिल होने वाली हैं। ममता कांग्रेस को कॉर्नर करने की कोशिश कर रही है। ममता बनर्जी जानती हैं कि वह किसी भी कीमत पर बंगाल में लेफ्ट के लिए कोई जगह छोड़ने वाली नहीं हैं। उन्होंने बड़ी मेहनत की, संघर्ष किया, लाठियां खाईं, तब जाकर बंगाल से लेफ्ट को उखाड़ा है। अब वह विपक्षी एकता के नाम पर बंगाल में अन्तिम सांसे गिन रहे लेफ्ट फ्रंट को आक्सीजन नहीं मिलने देंगी।
BHAGWANT MANN IN ‘AAP KI ADALAT’
Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann was my guest this weekend in ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ where he replied to a wide range of questions relating to his second marriage, his alcoholic bouts, the gruesome murder of singer Siddhu Moosewala, use of narcotics in Punjab, rise of separatist Khalistani elements and sundry other issues. Mann came to limelight in Punjab as a seasoned comedian and his popularity rose after he joined active politics. In the show, he also displayed his talent at singing Punjabi songs. OPPOSITION UNITY EFFORTS FACING OBSTACLES
Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has convened a conclave of all opposition parties including Congress in Patna on June 23, but already his efforts at forging opposition unity are facing obstacles. Nitish’s ally Jitanram Manjhi, who heads Hindustani Awam Party, has walked out of the Mahagathbandhan, and Manjhi’s son has resigned from Bihar cabinet. In UP, Om Prakash Rajbhar is on the verge of joining NDA. He had a secret meeting with UP CM Yogi Adityanath recently. As head of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, Rajbhar has thrown a challenge to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav to at least try bringing BSP chief Mayawati, RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary in UP on a single platform and then speak about opposition unity. Congress has clearly said, it is not going to ally with Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi and Punjab, and AAP is free to field candidates against Congress anywhere in India. In reply, AAP has said Congress lacks leader, policies and ideas for future, and it copies AAP’s ideas of giving freebies in its manifesto. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann told me in ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ show that Congress is on the verge of extinction and it will become a part of fables and legends soon. He asked, how can a party which has ‘nil’ MLAs and ‘nil’ MPs in Delhi think of competing with AAP? Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has placed a condition for Congress. She has said that Congress must not ally with the Left, if it wants to be part of alliance with TMC. Mamata Banerjee has rejected any tie-up with the Left. With regional parties like TMC setting conditions, and small caste-based parties in Bihar and UP walking away from opposition unity efforts, Nitish Kumar’s aim for achieving unity among opposition parties may be difficult to achieve.
PANCHAYAT POLL VIOLENCE IN BENGAL
Reports of violence and bomb attacks are still coming in from West Bengal, which will be going for panchayat elections. In South 24-Parganas, a BJP worker’s house was attacked on Friday, while in Murshidabad, a local TMC leader was killed. Locally made bombs have been seized in Birbhum, Bhangar and South 24-Parganas. WB BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar, who visited the home of his party worker, compared the conditions of Bengal with Afghanistan. West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose visited South 24-Parganas and spoke to common people. He directed officials to take strong action against those indulging in violence. The visuals of violence that have come from Bengal, are really a shame for our democracy. Violence in Bengal during elections is not an extraordinary thing. Trinamool Congress leaders are trying to downplay such violent incidents. Mamata Banerjee is blaming Left, Congress and BJP for violence. It is surprising Mamata is naming Congress and Left parties, though she is supposed to attend the June 23 meeting of opposition leaders in Patna. Mamata is trying to corner Congress. Mamata Banerjee knows she is not going to leave any space for Left in Bengal at any cost. She seized power from the Left after a long struggle, facing bullets and lathis for decades. She does not want the Left to get oxygen in Bengal in the guise of opposition unity.

गुजरात में आये भयंकर तूफान से तबाही हुई है, हज़ारों बिजली के खंभे गिर गए हैं, करीब एक हज़ार पेड़ उखड़ गये हैं और तकरीबन 4,600 गांवों में कच्चे मकानों को भारी नुकसान पहुंचा है. गुजरात के राहत आयुक्त के मुताबिक, अभी तक किसी की मौत की खबर नहीं आई है. ऐसा लग रहा है कि तूफान से पहले सरकार ने जो तैयारियां की, उसका फायदा मिला, किसी इंसान की जान नहीं गई, कोई बड़ी अनहोनी नहीं हुई, ये बड़ी बात है, लेकिन अभी मुसीबत खत्म नहीं हुई है. तूफान अब दक्षिण राजस्थान की तरफ बढ रहा है. तूफान से हुए नुकसान का अंदाजा तो तूफान के गुजर जाने के बाद लगेगा लेकिन इस तूफान ने आने से पहले ही बहुत नुकसान कर दिया है. ये तूफान गुजरात के जिन ज़िलों से होकर गुज़रा, वो भारी औद्य़ोगिक गतिविधयों वाले इलाके हैं, यहां पर ऑयल रिफ़ाइनरी, इंडस्ट्रियल पार्क और बड़े बड़े पोर्ट हैं. तूफ़ान की वजह से गुजरात के सात ज़िलों के 21 छोटे बड़े पोर्ट्स बंद कर दिए गए हैं. समुद्र में बने ऑयल रिग यानी तेल के कुंओं पर भी काम रुका हुआ है. तेल की रिफाइनरी भी बंद कर दी गई थीं. एक्पर्टर्स का कहना है कि हर रोज कम से कम पांच सौ करोड़ का नुकसान तो सिर्फ पोर्ट्स पर हो रहा है और ये अभी कई दिन तक होगा क्योंकि ऑपरेशन्स को नॉर्मल होने में वक्त लगेगा. मुझे लगता है कि इस भयंकर तूफान की ताकत के सामने ये नुकसान बहुत कम है. आज जो स्थिति है, उसे देखकर कहना पड़ेगा कि नरेन्द्र मोदी ने दिखा दिया कि डिजास्टर मैनेजमेंट के मामले में, बड़ी से बड़ी आपदा से निपटने के मामले में उनका कोई मुकाबला नहीं है. मोदी ने खतरे की गंभीरता को वक्त रहते समझा, तैयारी की, देश ने इस आपदा का मुकाबला किया, ये बहुत बड़ी बात है.
बृज भूषण के खिलाफ चार्जशीट
बृजभूशण शरण सिंह के खिलाफ आंदोलन कर रहे पहलवानों से सरकार ने जो वादा किया था, उसे गुरुवार को पूरा कर दिया गया. छह पहलवानों ने बृजभूषण के खिलाफ यौन शोषण के इल्जाम लगाए थे. इन लड़कियों के आरोपों के आधार पर दर्ज केस में दिल्ली पुलिस की स्पेशल इन्वेस्टिगेशन टीम ने राउज एवेन्यू कोर्ट में एक हजार से ज्यादा पन्नों की चार्जशीट पेश की है. इसमें बृजभूषण को दफा 354, 354A और 354D के तहत आरोपी बनाया है. इस केस में रेसलिंग फेडरेशन के सचिव विनोद तोमर को भी आरोपी बनाया गया है. इस मामले में बजभूशण शरण सिंह को जिन धाराओं में आरोपी बनाया गया है, उनमें एक साल से लेकर पांच साल तक की सज़ा का प्रावधान है. ज्यादातर दफाएं जमानती हैं. सिर्फ 354A गैरजमानती है लेकिन इसमें भी ये जांच अधिकारी के विवेक पर निर्भर है कि आरोपी को गिरफ्तार करना है या नहीं. अगर आरोपी जांच में सहयोग नहीं करता, तभी उसकी गिरफ्तारी होती है. लेकिन दिल्ली पुलिस ने जो चार्जशीट फाइल की है उसमें कहा गया है कि आरोप लगाने वाली पहलवानों ने सबूत के तौर पर पांच फोटोग्राफ्स दी हैं, कुछ डिजिटल एवीडेंस दिए हैं. दिल्ली पुलिस ने 25 गवाहों के बयान दर्ज किए हैं. इन सबके आधार पर बृजभूषण के खिलाफ मामला बनता है. बृजभूषण शरण सिंह के खिलाफ दर्ज नाबालिग के यौन शोषण के केस में दिल्ली पुलिस ने कैंसिलेशन की एप्लीकेशन फाइल की है, यानी दिल्ली पुलिस ने कोर्ट से कह दिया कि उसे इस मामले में केस चलाने लायक कोई सबूत नहीं मिले, जिस लड़की ने ये इल्जाम लगाए थे, उस लड़की ने अपने बयान वापस ले लिए हैं. यानी अब बृजभूषण शरण सिंह को तुरंत गिरफ्तार करने की नौबत नहीं आएगी. कुल मिलाकर खेल मंत्री अनुराग ठाकुर ने साक्षी मलिक और बजंरग पूनिया से 15 जून तक चार्जशीट फाइल होने का जो वादा किया था, वो पूरा हो गया. दिल्ली पुलिस ने तय डेडलाइन खत्म होने से पहले चार्जशीट फाइल कर दी. अब राउज एवेन्यू कोर्ट के चीफ मेट्रोपॉलिटन मजिस्ट्रेट 22 जून को इस मामले में सुनवाई करेंगे. बृज भूषण कई महीनों से एक दबंग की तरह खुलेआम घूम रहे थे, बयानबाजी कर रहे थे, सबूत मांग रहे थे. दिल्ली पुलिस ने बृजभूषण के खिलाफ गवाहों के बयान, सबूत और लड़कियों के बयानों के आधार पर तैयार चार्जशीट फाइल कर दी. अब नेताजी को लेने के देने पड़ सकते हैं, अगर वो ये सोच रहे हैं कि नाबालिग लड़की ने अपना बयान बदला उसके पिता ने शिकायत वापस ली और इस आधार पर दिल्ली पुलिस ने बृज भूषण के खिलाफ पाक्सो एक्ट में दर्ज केस को वापस लेने की एप्लीकेशन कोर्ट में दे दी, इसलिए वो बच गए, तो वो गलत सोच रहे हैं. ये इतना आसान नहीं है, अब ये अदालत तय करेगी कि दिल्ली पुलिस की एप्लीकेशन मंजूर की जाए या न की जाए. अदालत पूछ सकती है लड़की ने बयान क्यों बदला, अपनी मर्जी से बदला या उस पर कोई दबाव था, लेकिन ये सही है कि इस मामले में शुरू से ही दिल्ली पुलिस का जो रवैया रहा है, उससे ऐसा परसेप्शन बना था कि बृजभूषण को बचाने की कोशिश की जा रही है. जब आरोप लगाने वाली बेटियों को जंतर मंतर पर सड़क पर घसीटे जाने की तस्वीरें आई तो दिल्ली पुलिस की और बदनामी हुई. इसलिए जब दिल्ली पुलिस ने चार्जशीट फाइल की तो उसे भी शक की निगाह से देखा गया. पहली बात तो ये है कि अनुराग ठाकुर ने खिलाडियों से जो वादा किया था उसे आज दिल्ली पुलिस ने पूरा कर दिया. बृजभूषण खुश होंगे कि सिर पर अब तुरंत गिरफ़्तारी की तलवार नहीं लटकेगी और महिला पहलवानों को लगेगा कम से कम चार्ज शीट तो फाइल हुई है . इसके साथ साथ ये साफ हो गया कि भारतीय कुश्ती संघ अब बृज भूषण के चंगुल से आजाद हो जाएगा. अब महिला पहलवानों को नेता जी के आतंक के साये में नहीं जीना पड़ेगा.
विपक्ष कॉमन सिविल कोड से क्यों डर रहा है ?
देश में एक बार फिर यूनीफॉर्म सिविल कोड पर चर्चा शुरू हो गई है. चूंकि लॉ कमीशन ने आम लोगों से अगले तीस दिन में यूनीफॉर्म सिविल कोड को देश में लागू करने पर राय मांगी है, जिसके आधार पर लॉ कमीशन अपनी रिपोर्ट तैयार करके सरकार को देगा. जैसे ही लॉ कमीशन के इस कदम की जानकारी आई तो प्रतिक्रियाएं आनी शुरु हो गई. सबसे पहले मौलानाओं ने, मुस्लिम नेताओं ने इस पर एतराज जताया. सबसे तीखी प्रतिक्रिया जमीयत उलमा-ए-हिंद के अध्यक्ष मौलाना अरशद मदनी की आई. मौलाना अरशद मदनी ने कहा कि देश में किसी भी सरकार ने मुस्लिम पर्सनल लॉ को नहीं छेड़ा, लेकिन मौजूदा सरकार जानबूझकर ये कर रही है. मौलाना अरशद मदनी ने कहा कि कुछ लोग मुसलमानों के हौसले को तोड़ना चाहते हैं, मुसलमानों के साथ दुश्मनी की मिसाल पेश करना चाहते हैं, .देश इसे कभी भूलेगा नहीं. दारुल उलूम फिरंगी महल के मौलाना सुफियान निजामी ने कहा कि यूनिफॉर्म सिविल कोड की कोई ज़रूरत नहीं है. समाजवादी पार्टी के MP शफीकुर रहमान बर्क ने कहा कि लोकसभा के चुनाव होने वाले हैं, कई राज्यों के चुनाव करीब हैं, इसलिए बीजेपी इस तरह के मुद्दे उठा रही है. कांग्रेस नेता जयराम रमेश ने इल्जाम लगाया कि मोदी सरकार अपनी नाकामियों से ध्यान भटकाना चाहती है, ध्रुवीकरण करना चाहती है, इसलिए एक बार फिर यूनिफॉर्म सिविल कोड के मुद्दे को फिर से हवा दी जा रही है. असल में नेताओं की परेशानी लॉ कमीशन के कदम से नहीं है. उनकी परेशानी ये है कि बीजेपी के एजेंडा में तीन बड़े मुद्दे थे (1) अयोध्या में भव्य राम मंदिर का निर्माण, (2) जम्मू कश्मीर से आर्टिकल 370 को खत्म करना और (3) देश मे कॉमन सिविल कोड़ लागू करना. नरेन्द्र मोदी की सरकार राम मंदिर और आर्टिकिल 370 का वादा पूरा कर चुकी है. सिर्फ कॉमन सिविल कोड का मसला बचा है. चूंकि अगले साल चुनाव होना है इसीलिए विपक्ष को, मुस्लिम संगठनों को, .मौलानाओं को लग रहा है कि सरकार अगले कुछ महीनों में कॉमन सिविल कोड लागू करगी और बीजेपी इसे बड़ा चुनावी मुद्दा बनाएगी. अगर नरेन्द्र मोदी की सरकार ने कॉमन सिविल कोड बिल चुनाव पहले पार्लिय़ामेंट में पेश कर दिया तो सबसे ज्यादा परेशानी कांग्रेस नेताओं को होगी, जो अभी अभी नए हिंदू हितैषी बने हैं, जिन्होंने मध्यप्रदेश में राम और हनुमान के नाम का जाप शुरु किया है. कांग्रेस के अलावा NCP, JD-U, RJD और उद्धव ठाकरे की शिवसेना जैसे तमाम दलों के सामने भी बड़ा कन्फ्यूजन होगा, जो बिल का विरोध करेगा उस पर हिन्दू विरोधी होने का टैग लगेगा, और अगर वो सपोर्ट में आए तो ओवैसी जैसे नेता कहेंगे कि सिर्फ वही मुसलमानों के हितों की बात करते हैं, वो कहेंगे कि कांग्रेस और दूसरे दल तो मुसलमानों के खिलाफ मोदी के साथ खड़े हैं, लेकिन अगर सरकार ने वाकई में यूनिफॉर्म सिविल कोड लागू कर दिया तो ये बहुत बड़ा राजनीतिक कदम होगा और इसीलिए जैसे ही लॉ कमीशन ने कॉमन सिविल कोड पर पब्लिक की राय मांगी तो नेताओं ने शोर मचाना शुरू कर दिया है. मैं आपको बता दूं कि इस वक्त देश में गोवा अकेला ऐसा राज्य है जहां यूनीफॉर्म सिविल कोड लागू है, और उत्तराखंड ने कॉमन सिविल कोड लागू करने का एलान किया है. इसके लिए एक्सपर्ट्स की कमेटी इस महीने के अंत तक अपनी रिपोर्ट सरकार को दे देगी. इसके बाद पुष्कर धामी की सरकार यूनीफॉर्म सिविल कोड बिल लेकर आएगी.
CYCLONE : MODI ACTED IN TIME TO PREVENT DEVASTATION
Cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ which lashed Kutch-Saurashtra region in Gujarat has left a trail of destruction with thousands of electricity poles damaged, nearly a thousand trees uprooted and residents of nearly 4,600 villages having their thatched houses damaged. State Relief Commissioner of Gujarat has said, till now, no human death has been reported. This has been possible due to timely arrangements made both by the central and state governments. The cyclonic storm has now moved towards southern Rajasthan. The full extent of losses will be known after conditions return to normal, since most parts of coastal region in Gujarat have no electricity. This region is known for its massive industrial activity, like oil refinery, industrial parks and big ports. 21 small and big ports in these districts had to be closed before the onset of cyclone. Work on offshore oil rigs has also come to a halt. Experts estimate the daily losses to economy due to ports at around Rs 500 crore. It will take time to return to normal operations, and yet, I feel, these losses are small compared to the huge threat that was posed by the severe cyclonic storm. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown his skills in natural disaster management. He had shown similar skills in the past too. Modi assessed the gravity of the threat in time and put his emergency plan in motion.
CHARGESHEET FILED AGAINST BRIJ BHUSHAN
The Centre fulfilled its promise to six female wrestlers on Thursday when the special investigation team of Delhi Police filed chargesheet, running into more than 1,000 pages, against BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, and has made him accused under Sections 354, 354A and 354D of IPC. Secretary of Wrestling Federation of India Vinod Tomar has also been made accused. The sections under which Brij Bhushan has been nailed provide for one year to five years’ imprisonment, most of the sections are bailable, only 354A is non-bailable, and it depends on the investigation officer whether to arrest the accused or not. In its chargesheet, police said the female wrestlers submitted five photographs and some digital evidence as proof, while statements of 25 witnesses were recorded. Delhi Police filed cancellation application in the POCSO (Protection of Children From Sexual Offences) Act, after the minor wrestler withdrew her charges. Overall, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh may not be arrested soon, and on the other hand, the assurances given to wrestlers by Sports Minister Anurag Thakur have been fulfilled. The chief metropolitan magistrate’s court will take up the matter for hearing on June 22. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh had been making lot of blusters, challenging his rivals to show evidence, and now, police have come up with a chargesheet along with statements of witnesses and evidence. The leader may have to face the music if he thinks that by making the minor girl change his statement, he is free. It is not so easy. The court will now decide whether to accept the cancellation application of the police or not. The court may ask why the girl changed her statement. It may question whether the girl changed her statement on her own or was she acting under coercion. It is true that the popular perception about Delhi Police has been that it was trying to protect Brij Bhushan. When visuals of female wrestlers being dragged on the street near Jantar Mantar were flashed across the globe, Delhi Police faced flak. That is why the chargesheet that Delhi Police filed on Thursday is being watched with suspicion. The promise of sticking to the deadline for filing chargesheet, June 15, that Anurag Thakur made to wrestlers, was fulfilled. Brij Bhushan may be happy now that the sword that was hanging on his head is no more. The wrestlers might be feeling that at last a chargesheet has been filed. It is now clear that Wrestling Federation of India is now free from the clutches of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, and female wrestlers will not have to live in fear.
IS OPPOSITION SCARED OF COMMON CIVIL CODE?
The debate on whether India should have a uniform civil code has begun with the Law Commission seeking opinions from people on UCC within the next 30 days. The Commission will then submit its report to the government. Muslim clerics and leaders have raised objection on the Law Commission’s move. Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind president Maulana Arshad Madani said, no government in the past had tinkered with Muslim Personal Law, but the present government is deliberately moving towards that direction. Maulana Sufian Nizami of Darul Uloom Firangi Mahal said, the nation does not need a uniform civil code, the government should focus more on other pressing issues. Samajwadi Party MP Shafiqur Rahman Barq said, BJP is raising this topic because Lok Sabha elections are due next year and several states will also have assembly polls. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh alleged that Modi government is trying to divert people’s attention from its ‘failures’ and wants polarization of votes to win LS polls. BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, more than 80 countries, including several Islamic countries, have common civil code, but in India, this has become a political issue. Union Law Secretary P K Malhotra said, the 21st Law Commission had sought public opinion on uniform civil code in the past and had given its report, and now the 22nd Law Commission has also done the same. Seeking public opinion does not mean that the UCC will be implemented, he said. Opinions from political parties and legal luminaries will also be taken and this is a long-drawn process, Malhotra said. Leaders of political parties are not worried about the Law Commission’s move. Their worry is that BJP had three main topics on its agenda since the Nineties: (1) Building Ram Temple in Ayodhya (2) Removal of Article 370 and (3) implementing a common civil code. Narendra Modi’s government has fulfilled the first two promises, and only the common civil code issue remains. Since Lok Sabha elections are due next year, opposition parties and Islamic clerics feel that the government will implement UCC in the next few months, and BJP will make it a big poll issue. If Modi government introduces to the common civil code bill in Parliament before elections, Congress will be the hardest hit, because, of late, it has started to project itself as a benevolent Hindu party, particularly in Madhya Pradesh, where Hanuman Chalisa is being recited by party workers in all districts. Apart from Congress, parties like NCP, JD(U), RJD and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) may also face confusion. Those opposing the common civil code bill will be tagged as anti-Hindu parties. And if these parties support the bill, leaders like AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi will go to town and claim that he is the only politician who is fighting for the cause of Muslims. If Modi government implements the Uniform Civil Code, it will be a big political leap. This is exactly the reason why there is hue and cry after the Law Commission sought public opinion. Let me tell you, Goa is the only state in India today where uniform civil code is in force. Uttarkhand government has declared its intention to implement common civil code and an experts’ committee is going to give its report by this month-end. Soon after that, Uttarkhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami’s government will bring forward a common civil code bill.
