झारखंड में एक बड़े पावर ब्रोकर और कारोबारी पर ED की छापेमारी के एक दिन बाद ये खबर आई है कि मुख्यमंत्री हेमंत सोरेन को चुनाव आयोग अयोग्य ठहरा सकता है। इससे वहां की राजनीति में अचानक उबाल आ गया है।

चुनाव आयोग से राजभवन को एक सीलबंद लिफाफा मिला है जिसके बाद राज्यपाल रमेश बैस गुरुवार को दिल्ली से अचनाक रांची पहुंच गये। पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री रघुबर दास और विधायक दल के नेता बाबूलाल मरांडी के नेतृत्व में BJP के एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने 11 फरवरी को राज्यपाल को ज्ञापन देकर मांग की थी कि मुख्यमंत्री हेमंत सोरेन को जनप्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम, 1952 की धारा 9 ए के तहत अयोग्य ठहराया जाए और उन्हें पद से हटाया जाए। राज्यपाल ने इस मसले पर चुनाव आयोग की राय मांगी थी।

हेमंत सोरेन पर आरोप है कि उन्होने मुख्यमंत्री रहते खुद के नाम एक खनन पट्टा आवंटित करा दिया जो कि Office of Profit के प्रावधान का उल्लंघन है। मीडिया की खबरों में कहा गया है कि चुनाव आयोग ने हेमंत सोरेन को चुनावी कानून के तहत अयोग्य ठहराने की सिफारिश की है।

झारखंड की 81 सदस्यीय विधानसभा में JMM के 30 विधायक हैं, जबकि सहयोगी दल कांग्रेस के 17 और RJD का एक विधायक है। मुख्य विपक्षी दल BJP के सदन में 26 विधायक हैं।

झारखंड के संसदीय कार्य मंत्री आलमगीर आलम ने कहा कि जेएमएम के नेतृत्व वाली गठबंधन सरकार को कोई खतरा नहीं है। उन्होंने कहा कि लाभ के पद के इस मामले में हेमंत सोरेन को अयोग्य ठहराए जाने की सूरत में भी सरकार को कोई खतरा नहीं है। बीजेपी सांसद निशिकांत दुबे ने मध्यावधि चुनाव की मांग की है।

इस बीच, ED ने झारखंड के खनन और मनरेगा घोटालों के सरगना प्रेम प्रकाश को मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग कानून के तहत बुधवार की रात को गिरफ्तार कर लिया। ED ने उसके आवास से 2 एके-47 राइफलें और 60 कारतूस जब्त किए थे।

ED ने बुधवार को 100 करोड़ रुपये के खनन घोटाले के सिलसिले में झारखंड, बिहार, तमिलनाडु, दिल्ली और एनसीआर में 17 जगहों पर छापेमारी की थी। रांची में 11 ठिकानों पर छापेमारी की गई, जिसमें वसुंधरा अपार्टमेंट में प्रेम प्रकाश का फ्लैट, हरमू चौक के पास उसका घर ‘शैलोदय’, हरमू में उसका दफ्तर, अशोक नगर और मोरहाबादी में चार्टर्ड एकाउंटेंट जयशंकर जयपुरिया के मकान, लालपुर में एक अन्य चार्टर्ड अकाउंटेंट अनीता कुमारी का घर और अरगोड़ा चौक के पास एक कोयला व्यापारी एम. के. झा का घर शामिल हैं। बिहार के सासाराम में प्रेम प्रकाश के मामा रतन श्रीवास्तव के घर की भी तलाशी ली गई।

मुख्यमंत्री हेमंत सोरेन का नाम प्रेम प्रकाश से जोड़ने और ईडी की छापेमारी को लेकर बुधवार शाम मुख्यमंत्री कार्यालय ने मीडिया को चेतावनी जारी की। एक प्रेस विज्ञप्ति में कहा गया है, ‘जिस तरह से कुछ मीडिया प्लेटफॉर्म रांची और अन्य स्थानों पर एक निजी व्यक्ति और उसकी संपत्तियों पर चल रही ईडी की छापेमारी की खबरें दे रहे हैं, मुख्यमंत्री कार्यालय उस तरीके पर कड़ी आपत्ति दर्ज करता है। यदि झारखण्ड सरकार को दुर्भावनापूर्ण रिपोर्ट और ट्वीट/डिजिटल पोस्ट डालने के और मामले का पता चलता है, तो उचित कानूनी प्रावधानों के अनुरूप कदम उठाए जायेंगे।’

ईडी की छापेमारी की सबसे मजेदार बात यह थी कि जब इसकी टीम प्रेम प्रकाश के घर पर गई तो उसे उम्मीद थी कि नोटों के ढेर मिलेंगे, लेकिन इसकी बजाय उन्हें एक आलमारी के अंदर से 2 एके-47 राइफलें और 60 जिंदा कारतूस मिले। जल्द ही ED के संयुक्त निदेशक उसके घर पहुंच गए, और जैसे ही एके-47 राइफलों की जब्ती की खबर सामने आई, अरगड़ा के थाना प्रभारी विनोद कुमार मौके पर पहुंच गए और दावा किया कि ये हथियार अवैध नहीं थे, बल्कि प्रेम प्रकाश के आवास पर तैनात पुलिसकर्मियों के थे।

रांची पुलिस ने बताया कि दोनों पुलिसकर्मी मंगलवार की रात अपनी ड्यूटी कर घर लौट रहे थे, तभी तेज बारिश होने लगी और वे दोनों अपनी रायफलें आलमारी में रख कर घर चले गए। बुधवार को जब वे अपने हथियार वापस लेने के लिए लौटे तो उन्होंने पाया कि ED के अफसर घर की तलाशी ले रहे हैं। रांची पुलिस ने बताया कि दोनों पुलिसकर्मियों को ड्यूटी में लापरवाही बरतने के आरोप में सस्पेंड कर दिया गया है। पुलिस ने इस सवाल का जवाब नहीं दिया कि इन दोनों पुलिसकर्मियों की बतौर सुरक्षाकर्मी तैनाती किसके यहां थी।

कौन है प्रेम प्रकाश? वह रांची के राजनीतिक हलकों में सत्ता के गलियारों का बड़ा चलता-फिरता पुर्जा है, और IAS अधिकारी एवं पूर्व खनन सचिव पूजा सिंघल का करीबी है, जो पहले से ही हिरासत में हैं। वह कुछ साल पहले तक एक छोटा-मोटा कारोबारी था और मिड-डे मील के लिए स्कूलों में अंडों की सप्लाई करता था।

प्रेम प्रकाश बिहार के सासाराम जिले का रहने वाला है। जानकारों ने बताया कि प्रेम प्रकाश एक वक्त में लालू यादव के घर के चक्कर काटा करता था। उसके ऊपर लालू के घर से मोबाइल फोन चोरी करने का भी इल्जाम लगा था और पकड़े जाने पर उसकी पिटाई भी हुई थी। झारखंड के सत्ता के गलियारों में प्रेम प्रकाश की एंट्री 2015-16 में हुई। प्रेम प्रकाश को मिड डे मील स्कीम के लिए स्कूलों में अंडे सप्लाई करने का ठेका मिला था। वह रांची के बरियातू थाने के पीछे के एक अपार्टमेंट के पेंट हाउस में रहता था। वहां होने वाली पार्टियों में तमाम नेता और अधिकारी पहुंचते थे। उसने रांची के पॉश इलाके हरमू कॉलोनी में क्रिकेटर महेंद्र सिंह धोनी के घर के बगल में जमीन खरीदी है और एक आलीशान बंगला बनवा रहा है। प्रेम प्रकाश के पास 2 लग्जरी गाड़ियां हैं जिनका एक ही नंबर है 007 है। बीजेपी सांसद निशिकांत दूबे ने कहा, ‘अभी तो तालाब की छोटी मछली सामने आई है। देखते जाइए, बड़ी-बड़ी मछलियां भी सामने आएंगी।’

मुख्यमंत्री हेमंत सोरेन ईडी की छापेमारी के बारे में सीधे-सीधे तो कुछ नहीं बोले, लेकिन इतना जरूर कहा, ‘कुछ लोग नहीं चाहते कि झारखंड आगे बढ़े। झारखंड बनने के 20 साल बाद सूबे के विकास का काम शुरू हुआ है, और यह बात कुछ लोगों को पसंद नहीं आ रही है।’

सियासी नजर से देखें तो झारखंड में पड़े ED के छापों की आंच मुख्यमंत्री हेमंत सोरेन तक पहुंच सकती है। हालांकि हेमंत सोरेन ने इन छापों के साथ अपना नाम जोड़ने वालों को चेतावनी दी है। सोरेन, दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल की तरह कह रहे हैं कि केंद्र ED और CBI का इस्तेमाल इसलिए कर रहा है क्योंकि वह झारखंड की तरक्की से डर गई है। लेकिन सोरेन इस बात से इनकार नहीं कर सकते कि खनन घोटाले के सिलसिले में उनकी पूर्व खनन सचिव पूजा सिंघल पिछले कई महीनों से जेल में हैं। अब तक उन्हें अदालत से भी राहत नहीं मिली है। प्रेम प्रकाश को पूजा सिंघल का करीबी बताया जाता है और ED की छापेमारी को हल्के में नहीं लिया जा सकता। यह तेजी से सियासी मसला बनता जा रहा है। यहां तक कि RJD और कांग्रेस ने भी झारखंड में ED के छापे पर कुछ बोलने से इनकार कर दिया।

बिहार
RJD बिहार में एक और लड़ाई लड़ रही है। 2008-09 में लालू के रेल मंत्री रहने के दौरान रेलवे में नौकरी देने के बदले जमीन लेने के मामले में CBI ने बुधवार को RJD नेताओं से जुड़े 25 स्थानों पर छापेमारी की। पटना, वैशाली, मधुबनी, कटिहार और दानापुर में कई जगहों पर करीब 10 घंटे तक तलाशी ली गई।

ये छापेमारी RJD के 2 राज्यसभा सांसदों अशफाक करीम और फैयाज अहमद, लालू प्रसाद और राबड़ी के करीबी बताए जा रहे MLC सुनील सिंह, पूर्व MLC सुबोध राय और पूर्व विधायक अबू दुजाना के ठिकानों पर की गई। इन नेताओं को RJD के लिए फंड का जुगाड़ करने वाला माना जाता है। दिल्ली और गुरुग्राम में भी तलाशी ली गई। पटना में सुनील सिंह के समर्थक उनके घर के बाहर धरने पर बैठ गए और बीजेपी विरोधी नारे लगाने लगे, जबकि अंदर सीबीआई तलाशी ले रही थी। सुनील सिंह ने कहा कि सीबीआई के अधिकारियों ने उनसे जबरदस्ती कुछ कागजात पर दस्तखत कराने की कोशिश की।

RJD सांसद अशफाक करीम कटिहार में एक मेडिकल कॉलेज चलाते हैं। एक अन्य सांसद फैयाज अहमद, जो कि दो बार विधायक रह चुके हैं, भी एक मेडिकल कॉलेज चलाते हैं। ये दोनों नेता लालू परिवार के करीबी बताए जाते हैं। बुधवार को पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री राबड़ी देवी ने कहा कि ये छापेमारी उनकी पार्टी के लोगों को डराने के लिए की जा रही है, लेकिन RJD डरने वाली नहीं है। CBI मेडिकल कॉलेजों में तलाशी के लिए CRPF कर्मियों को ले गई थी।

बीजेपी नेता और पूर्व डिप्टी सीएम सुशील मोदी ने कहा, ‘लालू परिवार तो आदतन भ्रष्ट है। इन्हें CBI के छापों की भी आदत है।’ सीबीआई ने इस मामले में पिछले साल जांच शुरू की थी और इस साल मई में लालू प्रसाद, राबड़ी देवी और उनकी बेटी मीसा भारती के ठिकानों पर छापेमारी की थी।

बिहार विधानसभा में डिप्टी सीएम और RJD नेता तेजस्वी यादव ने बीजेपी पर हमला किया और आरोप लगाया कि केंद्र विरोधियों को डराने के लिए ED और CBI का दुरुपयोग कर रहा है। उन्होंने कहा, ‘बिहार की जनता सब देख रही है और वह जवाब देगी।’ उन्होंने विधानसभा को बताया कि CBI ने गुरुग्राम के सेक्टर 71 में अर्बन क्यूब मॉल में तलाशी ली। तेजस्वी ने कहा, ‘इस मॉल को व्हाइटलैंड कॉर्पोरेशन बना रहा है और हमारे परिवार का इस मॉल से कोई लेना-देना नहीं है।’ सीबीआई ने 2017 में तेजस्वी यादव के खिलाफ केस दर्ज किया था। इसकी चार्जशीट भी दाखिल की जा चुकी है और वह 2019 से जमानत पर हैं।

तेजस्वी यादव के लिए CBI के केस, ED के रेड कोई नई बात नहीं है। पिछले 15 साल से उनके परिवार और पार्टी के लोगों के खिलाफ कई केस दर्ज हुए हैं। लालू यादव तो चारा घोटाले में दोषी करार दिए जाने के बाद कई साल जेल में रहना पड़ा है। लालू परिवार पहले इन मामलों के लिए नीतीश कुमार को जिम्मेदार ठहराता था, लेकिन अब नीतीश के RJD कैंप में शामिल होने के बाद वह नरेंद्र मोदी को जिम्मेदार ठहरा रहा है।

नीतीश कुमार की पार्टी जब बीजेपी के साथ थी, तब वह बड़ी चतुराई से भ्रष्टाचार का मुद्दा उठाते थे। उन्होंने लालू यादव और तेजस्वी यादव को भ्रष्टाचार की गंगोत्री बताया था, लेकिन बुधवार को विधानसभा में विश्वास प्रस्ताव पर बहस का जवाब देते हुए नीतीश कुमार ने कोई अलग ही राग छेड़ा था।

नीतीश कुमार ने क्लीन चिट देते हुए कहा, 2017 में तेजस्वी यादव के खिलाफ मामले दर्ज किए गए, लेकिन कुछ भी सामने नहीं आया। बीजेपी नेताओं की तरफ इशारा करते हुए नीतीश कुमार ने कहा, ‘बीजेपी में ईमानदार और सीधे-सादे नेताओं को कुछ नहीं मिलता। 2024 के चुनाव के लिए मेरी कोई महत्वाकांक्षा नहीं है। मेरा एकमात्र उद्देश्य विपक्ष को एकजुट करना है।’

A day after the Enforcement Directorate raided a key power broker-cum-businessman in Jharkhand and seized 2 AK-47 rifles from his home, reports have come in about the Election Commission’s opinion on a plea seeking disqualification of Chief Minister Hemant Soren as an MLA for violating electoral law.

Governor Ramesh Bais air-dashed from Delhi to Ranchi on Thursday, after the Raj Bhavan received a sealed envelope from the Election Commission. The Governor had sought the EC’s opinion after a BJP delegation led by former CM Raghubar Das and legislature party leader Babulal Marandi, met him on February 11 seeking removal of Soren as chief minister, and disqualification under Section 9A of Representation of People’s Act, 1952.

This action deals with disqualification for government contracts, and it was alleged that the chief minister had allotted a mining lease to himself. Media reports said the EC has opined that Soren can be disqualified under the electoral law. The JMM has 30 MLAs in the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly, while Congress has 17 and the RD one MLA. The main opposition BJP has 26 MLAs in the House.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Alamgir Alam said there was no threat to the ruling coalition government. “Even in the probability of Hemant Soren being disqualified in this office of profit case, there is no threat to the government”, he said. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey demanded that there should be a mid-term poll.

Meanwhile, ED has arrested Prem Prakash, the lynchpin in the Jharkhand mining and MNREGA scams, under Prevention of Money Laundering Act on Wednesday night, after two AK-47 rifles and 60 cartridges were seized from his residence.

On Wednesday, ED had conducted raids at 17 places in Jharkhand, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and NCR in connection with the Rs 100 crore mining scam. The searches were conducted at 11 places in Ranchi, including Prem Prakash’s flat in Vasundhara Apartment, his residence ‘Shailodaya’ near Harmu Chowk, his office in Harmu, and residences of chartered accountant Jaishankar Jaipuria in Ashok Nagar and Morhabadi, and residence of another chartered accountant Anita Kumari in Lalpur and the house of a coal trade M K Jha near Argora Chowk. Searches were also conducted in the residence of Ratan Srivastava, maternal uncle of Prem Prakash in Sasaram, Bihar.

On Wednesday evening, the chief minister’s office issued a warning to media for linking Chief Minister Hemant Soren to Prem Prakash and ED raids. A press release said, “The Office of the CM takes strong objection to the manner in which certain media platforms have been reporting news of the ongoing ED raid on a private individual and his properties in Ranchi and other places…If the state government comes across any further malicious reports and tweets/digital posts, it will be dealt with as per due legal provisions”.

The most hilarious part of ED raids was that when their sleuths went to Prem Prakash’s residence, they expected to find wads of currency notes, but instead found two AK-47 rifles and 60 live cartridges kept inside an almirah. Soon, the joint director of ED reached his house, and as news about the seizure of AK-47 rifles was flashed, the police station in-charge of Argada Vinod Kumar reached the spot and claimed that these were not illegal weapons, but belonged to policemen who were deployed at his residence.

Police security given to Prem Prakash had been withdrawn by Hemant Soren government after his name figured as the kingpin in the mining scam. Ranchi Police said, the two policemen were returning home on Tuesday night after doing their duty, when it rained heavily. They kept both the rifles in the almirah and went home. On Wednesday, when they returned to take back their weapons, they found ED sleuths searching the residence. Ranchi Police said, both the policemen have been suspended for negligence in duty. The local police failed to give a proper reply to the question as to whom these two policemen were assigned as security personnel.

Who is Prem Prakash? He is known in Ranchi’s political circles as a power broker, and was close to IAS officer, former Mining Secretary Pooja Singhal, who is already in custody. He was a small-time businessman several years ago and used to supply eggs to schools for mid-day meal scheme.

A native of Bihar’s Sasaram district, he became close to RJD supremo Lalu Prasad several years ago, and was once beaten up on charge of stealing a cellphone. He made his entry into the power circles of Jharkhand in 2015-16. He supplied eggs to schools under Ready To Eat Food midday meal scheme. He owned a penthouse apartment in Bariatu locality of Ranchi, where political leaders and top bureaucrats used to attend parties. He bought a plot near cricketer M. S. Dhoni’s residence in Harmu colony to build a plush bungalow. He owned two luxury cars with the fancy number plate ending with 007. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey says, that “These are small fish. Wait for the big fish that will be caught soon.”

Chief Minister Hemant Soren did not comment on ED raids, but said, “some people do not want Jharkhand to progress. Development work has begun for the first time after 20 years, but some people do not like this.”

Politically, the flames of ED searches in Jharkhand could reach the Chief Minister, despite his office issuing a warning to media not to link his name with the kingpin. Soren, like Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, is saying that the Centre is using ED and CBI because it is afraid of development taking place. But Soren cannot deny that his ex-Mining Secretary Pooja Singhal is in jail for the last several months in connection with mining scam. Even the courts have not given her relief. Prem Prakash is said to be close to Pooja Singhal and the ED raids cannot be taken lightly. It is fast becoming a political issue. Even RJD and Congress refused to comment on the ED raids in Jharkhand.

RJD is fighting another battle in Bihar. On Wednesday, the CBI raided 25 places linked to RJD leaders in connection with the Jobs For Land scam dating back to 2008-9 when Lalu Prasad was the Railway Minister. The searches took place in Patna, Vaishali, Madhubani, Katihar and Danapur for nearly ten hours.

Raids were conducted at the locations of two RJD Rajya Sabha MPs Ashfaq Karim and Faiyaz Ahmed, MLC Sunil Singh, said to be close to Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, ex-MLC Subodh Rai and ex-MLA Abu Dujana. These leaders are considered fund raisers for RJD. Searches also took place in Delhi and Gurugram. In Patna, supporters of Sunil Singh sat on dharna outside his residence and shouted anti-BJP slogans even as CBI was carrying out searches inside. Sunil Singh said that CBI officers tried to force him to sign some documents.

RJD MP Ashfaq Karim runs a medical college in Katihar, while another MP Fayaz Ahmed, a former MLA, also runs a medical college. They are said to be close to Lalu Prasad’s family. On Wednesday, ex-CM Rabri Devi said, these raids are meant to intimidate her party men, but the party will not be intimidated. CBI sleuths took CRPF personnel for conducting searches in the medical colleges.

BJP leader and former deputy CM Sushil Modi said, “Lalu Prasad’s family is habitually corrupt and they are used to frequent CBI raids”. Last year, CBI had begun the probe and in May this year, there were raids at the location of Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi and their daughter Misa Bharati.

Inside the Bihar assembly, Deputy CM and RJD chief Tejashwi Yadav lashed out at the BJP and alleged that the Centre is misusing ED and CBI to intimidate political rivals. “The people of Bihar are watching and they will reply”, he said. He told the Assembly that searches were conducted by CBI at Urban Cube mall in Sector 71 of Gurugram. “This mall is being built by Whiteland Corporation and our family has nothing to do with this mall”, he said. In 2017, CBI had filed a case against Tejashwi Yadav. The chargesheet has already been filed and he is on bail since 2019.

For Tejashwi Yadav, CBI and ED searches are nothing new. His family has been facing cases since last 15 years. Lalu Yadav is already serving imprisonment after being convicted in fodder scam. Earlier, Lalu’s family used to blame Nitish Kumar for these cases, but now that Nitish Kumar has walked over to the RJD camp, the family is now blaming Narendra Modi.

Nitish Kumar used to raise corruption issue when his party was aligned with BJP. He used to describe Lalu and Tejashwi Yadav as the ‘Gangotri’ (fountainhead) of corruption, but on Wednesday, while replying to the confidence motion debate in the Assembly, Nitish Kumar played a different tune.

Nitish Kumar, while giving a clean chit, said, cases were filed against Tejashwi Yadav in 2017, but nothing came out. Pointing towards the BJP benches, Nitish Kumar said, “in BJP, honest and simple leaders do not get anything…I have no ambition for 2024 elections. My only aim is to unite the opposition”.

हैदराबाद में बढते साम्प्रदायिक तनाव को देखते हुए बुधवार को पुलिस ने शहर के कई इलाकों में फ्लैग मार्च किया। पुराने हैदराबाद के चारमीनार इलाके में मंगलवार की शाम को फिर से विरोध प्रदर्शन शुरू हो गये थे। बीजेपी विधायक टी. राजा सिंह ने पैगंबर मोहम्मद के खिलाफ वीडियो जारी किया था, और इसके कारण उनका सिर कलम करने की मांग करते हुए पुराने शहर के इलाकों में लगातार प्रदर्शन हो रहे हैं।

अपने जहरीले वीडियो को राजा सिंह ने यूट्यूब पर पोस्ट किया किया और इसके फौरन बाद शहर के कई हिस्सों में विरोध प्रदर्शन शुरू हो गए। राजा सिंह को पुलिस ने मंगलवार की सुबह गिरफ्तार कर लिया, लेकिन शाम तक उन्हें तकनीकी आधार पर अतिरिक्त मुख्य मेट्रोपॉलिटन मैजिस्ट्रेट ने जमानत पर रिहा कर दिया। उनके वकील ने अदालत को बताया कि हैदराबाद पुलिस ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट के दिशानिर्देशों का पालन नहीं किया जिसके तहत CrPC की धारा 41a के तहत आरोपी को गिरफ्तारी से पहले नोटिस दिया जाता है।

बीजेपी आलाकमान ने घटना को गंभीरता से लेते हुए राजा सिंह को प्राथमिक सदस्ता से सस्पेंड कर दिया। उन्हें भाजपा अनुशासन समिति के सदस्य ओम पाठक ने कारण बताओ नोटिस जारी किया, जिसमें उन्हें इस बात का जवाब देने के लिए 10 दिन का समय दिया गया कि उन्हें पार्टी से क्यों न निकाला जाये। ओम पाठक द्वारा जारी नोटिस में कहा गया : ‘आपने विभिन्न मामलों पर पार्टी की स्थिति के विपरीत विचार व्यक्त किए हैं, जो स्पष्ट रूप से बीजेपी के संविधान का उल्लंघन है। मुझे आपको यह बताने के लिए निर्देशित किया गया है कि आगे की जांच लंबित रहने तक, आपको तत्काल प्रभाव से पार्टी से और आपकी जिम्मेदारियों/कार्यों से, यदि कोई हैं, निलंबित किया जाता है।’

टी. राजा सिंह को अपने के पर कोई पछतावा नहीं था। उन्होंने कहा, ‘मैंने कुछ भी गलत नहीं किया है और मैं हमेशा प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और गृह मंत्री अमित शाह का वफादार सिपाही रहूंगा। मेरे लिए पार्टी से ज्यादा, धर्म की रक्षा करना जरूरी है।’ उन्होंने वीडियो क्लिप- पार्ट 2 जारी करने की भी धमकी दी, जिसमें शायद उन्होंने इस्लाम और पैगंबर के खिलाफ इसी तरह की जहरीली बातें कही हैं।

बीजेपी विधायक ने जिस तरह से अपमानजनक वीडियो पोस्ट किया है, वह सोशल मीडिया का बेजा इस्तेमाल कर देश का माहौल खराब करने की साफ कोशिश है। उन्होंने जानबूझकर यह काम किया था। उन्होंने हिंदू देवी-देवताओं के खिलाफ कॉमेडियन मुनव्वर फारूकी की बातों का विरोध करते हुए पैगंबर मोहम्मद के खिलाफ अमर्यादित भाषा और अपशब्दों का इस्तेमाल किया।

सोशल मीडिया पर राजा सिंह का 10 मिनट 27 सेकंड का वीडियो सामने आते ही हजारों मुसलमान सोमवार की रात हैदराबाद की सड़कों पर निकल आए और ‘सिर तन से जुदा’ के नारे लगाने लगे। मंगलवार सुबह मौलानाओं, AIMIM सुप्रीमो असदुद्दीन ओवैसी और स्थानीय कांग्रेस नेताओं ने बीजेपी विधायक के खिलाफ तीखी प्रतिक्रिया व्यक्त की। राजा सिंह अपने घर में सो रहे थे, जबकि हजारों लोग हैदराबाद की सड़कों पर उनके खून के प्यासे हो रहे थे। उन्हें हैदराबाद पुलिस ने तुरंत गिरफ्तार भी कर लिया था, लेकिन एक स्थानीय अदालत ने शाम तक उन्हें जमानत पर रिहा कर दिया।

सवाल यह है कि जब पैगंबर के खिलाफ नूपुर शर्मा की आपत्तिजनक टिप्पणी पर पहले से ही तनाव था तो बीजेपी विधायक ने यह वीडियो क्यों पोस्ट किया? उन्होंने यह शर्मनाक हरकत क्यों की? क्या यह एक सियासी कदम था? उनके जहरीले वीडियो के कारण हैदराबाद के चंचलगुडा, दबीरपुरा, भवानी नगर, रोडिन बाजार और मीर चौक इलाकों में हिंसक विरोध प्रदर्शन हुए। ये मुस्लिम बहुल इलाके थे जहां ओवैसी की पार्टी AIMIM काफी असर रखती है।

मंगलवार तड़के 2.30 बजे AIMIM विधायक अहमद बिन अब्दुल्ला बलाला जब दबीरपुरा थाने में शिकायत दर्ज करा रहे थे तो उस समय बाहर जुटी भीड़ नारेबाजी कर रही थी। टी. राजा सिंह गोशमहल से बीजेपी के विधायक हैं। वह इस विधानसभा क्षेत्र से 2 बार जीत चुके हैं। वह तेलंगाना विधानसभा में बीजेपी के चीफ व्हिप और राज्य में हिंदुत्व का एक जाना-माना चेहरा हैं। वह अक्सर अपने बयानों से विवादों में रहते हैं

AIMIM प्रमुख असदुद्दीन ओवैसी ने इस तरह के जहरीले बयानों और हैदराबाद में माहौल को ‘खराब’ करने के लिए बीजेपी को दोषी ठहराया। ओवैसी ने आरोप लगाया कि बीजेपी मुसलमानों को ‘उकसा’ रही है। उन्होंने कहा, ऐसा लगता है कि मुसलमानों का अपमान करना बीजेपी की ‘आधिकारिक नीति’ बन गई है। ओवैसी ने मांग की कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को इस मुद्दे पर बोलना चाहिए और नफरत भरे वीडियो की निंदा करनी चाहिए। AIMIM सुप्रीमो ने आरोप लगाया कि बीजेपी तेलंगाना में अपनी जड़ें जमाने के लिए सांप्रदायिक दंगे कराना चाहती है। यह पूछे जाने पर कि मुसलमान ‘सिर तन से जुदा’ के नारे क्यों लगा रहे हैं तो ओवैसी बचाव की मुद्रा में आ गए। उन्होंने कहा, ‘मैं ऐसे नारों की मजम्मत करता हूं। कानून अपने हाथ में लेने का हक किसी को नहीं है।’

ओवैसी सीनियर लीडर हैं, बैरिस्टर हैं। वह जानते हैं कि कब क्या बोलना है, कितना बोलना है, इसलिए संभलकर बोले। इस बीच स्थानीय कांग्रेस नेता राशिद खान भी थाने पहुंचे और बीजेपी विधायक के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की मांग की। हैदराबाद के बड़े मौलवियों में से एक मौलाना जफर पाशा ने कहा कि राजा सिंह का बयान ‘बर्दाश्त के काबिल नहीं’ है।

राजा सिंह विधायक हैं, चुने हुए नेता हैं। मुनव्वर फारूकी के खिलाफ उनका विरोध जायज हो सकता है, उनके खिलाफ वह अपनी बात कह सकते हैं, लेकिन बात करने का एक तरीका होता है। जिस तरह से उसने फारूकी, इस्लाम और पैगंबर मोहम्मद के खिलाफ अपमानजनक बातें कही, उसे कभी भी उचित नहीं ठहराया जा सकता। सीधी बात है उन्होंने बहुत बड़ी गलती की और इसलिए इसकी सजा तो मिलनी ही चाहिए। लेकिन यह बात भी याद रखना जरूरी है कि मुनव्वर फारूकी ने भी देवी-देवताओं का अपमान किया था, और हिन्दू संगठन उनके शो का विरोध कर रहे थे। उनके शो कर्नाटक में, महाराष्ट्र में और कई दूसरे राज्यों में रद्द कर दिए गए थे।

तेलंगाना में TRS सरकार ने फारूकी को हैदराबाद में एक शो करने की इजाजत दी। फारूकी ने हिंदू देवी-देवताओं के बारे में जो कहा था, उसके बारे में न तो TRS और न ही AIMIM बोल रही है। मंगलवार को इंडिया टीवी के रिपोर्टर टी. राघवन ने जब ओवैसी से का कि कुछ मुनव्वर फारूकी पर भी कहिए, तो AIMIM नेता ने जवाब दिया, ‘मैं एक कॉमिडियन के बारे में क्या बोलूं? उस सरकार से पूछिए जिसने उन्हें सुरक्षा दी और उन्हें यहां शो करने की इजाजत दी। अगर राजा सिंह को फारूकी से नाराजगी थी तो पुलिस में शिकायत कर सकते थे, या कोर्ट जा सकते थे। उन्होंने पैगंबर का अपमान क्यों किया, मुसलमानों को धमकी क्यों दी?’

हैरानी की बात यह है कि राजा सिंह के आपत्तिजनक वीडियो पर TRS नेताओं ने चुप्पी साध रखी है। मुंबई में MNS चीफ राज ठाकरे ने कहा, ‘असद्दुदीन ओवैसी और उनके भाई अकबरूद्दीन ओवैसी हिन्दू देवी-देवताओं के बारे में उल्टा-सीधा बोलते हैं तब कोई नहीं बोलता, लेकिन नुपूर शर्मा ने कुछ कह दिया तो पूरे देश में हंगामा हो गया। यह कैसे चलेगा? जाकिर नाइक तो एक मुस्लिम उपदेशक है, जो भारत से फरार हो गया, वह इस्लामिक रिसर्च फाउंडेशन का संस्थापक है। उसने भी वही बात कही थी जो नुपुर शर्मा ने पैगंबर के बारे में कही। जाकिर नाइक के बारे में तो किसी ने कुछ नहीं कहा, क्यों?’

राज ठाकरे की अपनी सियासत है। राजा सिंह द्वारा आपत्तिजनक भाषा के इस्तेमाल के बारे में ओवैसी ने जो कहा, वह ठीक है। राजा सिंह ने जिस तरह की भाषा का इस्तेमाल किया, जिस तरह की बात कही, उसे कोई सपोर्ट नहीं कर सकता। राजा सिंह को सजा मिलनी चाहिए। उन्होंने कोई पहली बार ऐसी गलती नहीं की है, वह विवादित बयानबाजी के आदतन अपराधी हैं। पहले भी उन्होंने ऐसे बयान दिए हैं। वह इसे अपनी USP समझते हैं। राजा सिंह को शायद लगता है कि इस तरह की बातें हैदराबाद जैसे शहर में, ओवैसी के गढ़ में अपना वजूद कायम रखने में मदद करती हैं।

इस बार भी राजा सिंह ने जो कहा उसके पीछे सियासत है, और इस सियासत में मुख्यमंत्री केसीआर भी शामिल हैं। असल में कॉमेडियन मुनव्वर फारूकी के खिलाफ हिन्दू देवी-देवताओं के अपमान के इल्जाम पुराने हैं, और उन पर केस भी चल रहे हैं। मुनव्वर फारूकी इसके लिए जेल भी जा चुके हैं, इसके बाद भी केसीआर सरकार ने उन्हें हैदराबाद में बुलाकर शो करने की इजाजत दी। ऐसा मुसलमानों में यह संदेश भेजने के लिए किया गया कि केसीआर और उनकी पार्टी टीआरएस हिन्दूवादी संगठनों के दबाव में काम नहीं करते।

मुस्लिम वोटों पर सत्तारूढ़ पार्टी की नजर थी और इसीलिए मुनव्वर फारूकी को हैदराबाद में शो करने की इजाजत दी गई। प्रशासन ने राजा सिंह को नजरबंद रखा और वह और उनके समर्थक फारूकी को नहीं रोक सके। हिंदू समर्थकों को अपने साथ बनाए रखने के लिए राजा सिंह ने वीडियो जारी करके मुनव्वर फारूकी का नाम लिया। उन्होंने इस्लाम और पैगंबर मोहम्मद के खिलाफ जहर उगला। KCR और राजा सिंह की सियासत में ओवैसी को नुकसान हो रहा था, इसलिए उस नुकसान की भरपाई करने के लिए ओवैसी, उनके भाई और समर्थक पिछले 2 दिनों से लगातार सक्रिय हैं। AIMIM के समर्थक ‘सिर तन से जुदा’ का नारा लगाते हुए सड़क पर उतर गए।

मामला सिर्फ और सिर्फ सियासत का है। लेकिन वोट के चक्कर में पूरे देश का माहौल खराब हो रहा है। जरूरत तो इस बात की है कि राजा सिंह जैसे लोगों की जुबान पर ताला लगाया जाए, और कॉमेडी के नाम पर हिन्दू देवी-देवताओं का अपमान करने वाले मुनव्वर फारूकी जैसे लोगों को भी सबक सिखाया जाए। हिंदू संत और जाने-माने मुस्लिम मौलवी भी इन सब चीजों की निंदा कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने दोनों समुदायों से एक-दूसरे के धर्मों और भावनाओं का सम्मान करने की अपील की है।

मोटी बात यह है कि अगर राजा सिंह को मुनव्वर फारूकी से शिकायत थी तो वह पुलिस में शिकायत कर सकते थे। इसी तरह जिन लोगों को राजा के बयान से चोट पहुंची उन्हें भी पुलिस से शिकायत करनी चाहिए। न तो राजा सिंह को पैगंबर मोहम्मद का अपमान करने का हक है, और न ही किसी को ‘सिर तन से जुदा’ जैसे इरादे जाहिर करने का हक है। लेकिन अब ऐसे लोग पुलिस के पास जाने के बजाय सोशल मीडिया पर जा रहे हैं।

लोग नफरत फैलाने के लिए सोशल मीडिया का बेजा इस्तेमाल कर रहे हैं। अक्सर यह देखा गया है कि चूंकि लोग सोशल मीडिया का इस्तेमाल बेरोकटोक कर सकते हैं, इसलिए वे नफरत से भरे वीडियो बनाते हैं और पोस्ट कर देते हैं। हैदराबाद में पिछले 2 दिनों में जो कुछ भी हुआ वह सोशल मीडिया के जरिए नफरत फैलाने का ही नतीजा है। हालांकि इस केस में सियासत भी एक बड़ी वजह है क्योंकि तेलंगाना में अगले साल दिसंबर तक विधानसभा चुनाव होने हैं और सारी पार्टियां अपनी पोजिशन ले रही हैं।

Hyderabad Police carried out a flag march in some localities of the city on Wednesday, as fresh protests erupted again on Tuesday evening in Charminar locality of Old Hyderabad. Nearly 1,000 protesters marched in Old City areas demanding ‘beheading’ of BJP MLA T. Raja Singh for his derogatory comments made against Prophet Mohammed.

The offensive and abusive video was posted by the BJP MLA on YouTube, and this triggered protests in several parts of the city. Raja Singh was arrested by police, but by Tuesday evening he was released on bail by the Additional Chief Metropolitan magistrate on technical grounds. His lawyer told the court that the Hyderabad Police did not follow Supreme Court guidelines under which notice is served before arrest to the accused under Section 41A of Criminal Procedure Code.

The BJP high command took a serious view of the incident and suspended Raja Singh. He was issued a show cause notice signed by BJP disciplinary committee member Om Pathak and was given ten days to explain why he should not be expelled from the party. The notice issued by Om Pathak to T. Raja Singh said: “You hve expressed views contrary to the party’s position on various matters, which is in clear violation of the BJP constitution. I have been directed to convey to you that pending further inquiry, you are suspended from the party and from your responsibilities/assignments, if any, with immediate effect.”

T. Raja Singh was however unrepentant. He said, “I have done nothing wrong and I will always remain a loyal soldier of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah…More than the party, protecting dharma is important for me”. He threatened to release “part two” of the video clip that possibly contains more such derogatory remarks against Islam and its Prophet.

The manner in which the BJP MLA posted the insulting video is a clear attempt to poison the atmosphere in the country, by misusing social media. His action was deliberate. He used abuses and vile words against Prophet Mohammed, while opposing the remarks made by comedian Munawwar Farooqui against Hindu gods and goddesses.

Soon after his 10 minute 27 second video appeared on social media, thousands of Muslims came out on the streets of Hyderabad on Monday night, chanting slogans “Sar Tan Se Juda” (beheading for blasphemy). On Tuesday morning, Muslim clerics and politicians like AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and local Congress leaders reacted sharply against the BJP MLA. Raja Singh was sleeping in his home, even as thousands of people were baying for his blood on the streets of Hyderabad. He was immediately arrested by Hyderabad Police, but by evening, he was released on bail by a local court.

The question is: When there was already tension over Nupur Sharma’s offensive remarks against the Prophet, why did the BJP MLA post this video? Why did his commit this shameful act? Was it a political move? His hate video led to violent protests in Chanchalguda, Dabeerpura, Bhawani Nagar, Rdin Bazar and Meer Chowk localities of Hyderabad. These were Muslim-dominated localities where Owaisi’s AIMIM has a big influence.

By 2.30 am on early Tuesday, AIMIM MLA Ahmed bin Abdullah Balala filed complaint in Dabeerpura police station, and a big mob chanted slogans outside. T. Raja Singh is the BJP MLA from Goshamahal. He has won from this assembly constituency twice. He is the chief whip of BJP in Telangana assembly and a known Hindutva face in the state. Many of his remarks in the past have been controversial.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi blamed the BJP for such hate speeches and for “spoiling” the atmosphere in Hyderabad. Owaisi alleged that BJP was “provoking” Muslims. He said, it appears as if insulting Muslims has become the “official policy” of BJP. Owaisi demanded that PM Narendra Modi must speak on the issue and condemn the hate video. The AIMIM chief alleged that BJP was planning to incite communal riots in order to spread its base in Telangana. Asked why Muslims were chanting “Sar tan Se Juda’ (beheading) slogans, Owaisi was on the defensive. He said, “I condemn such slogans. Nobody has the right to take law in his own hands.”

Owaisi is a leading barrister and an experienced politician. He knows what to speak and where and when. Meanwhile, local Congress leader Rashid Khan too reached a police station and demanded action against the BJP MLA. One of the leading clerics of Hyderabad Maulana Zafar Pasha said, Raja Singh’s offensive remarks “will not be tolerated”.

Raja Singh is an elected people’s representative. His opposition to comedian Munawar Faruqui may be justified, but the manner in which he hurled abuses and insults both against Faruqui, Islam and its Prophet, can never be justified. He has committed a serious mistake and he must be punished for this. But, one should also remember how the stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui insulted Hindu gods and goddesses, and Hindu outfits had to stage protests. His shows were cancelled in Karnataka, Maharashtra and several other states.

In Telangana, the TRS government allowed Faruqui to do a show in Hyderabad. Neither the TRS, nor the AIMIM are speaking about what Faruqui said about Hindu gods and goddesses. On Tuesday, India TV correspondent T. Raghavan asked Owaisi to say at least something about Faruqui. Owaisi replied, “What should I speak about a comedian? Ask the government which gave him security and allowed him to do a show here. If Raja Singh was angry with Faruqui, he could have complained to the police, or he could have gone to court. Why did he insult the Prophet and threatened Muslims?”

The strangest part is that TRS leaders have kept a big silence over Raja Singh’s offensive video. In Mumbai, MNS chief Raj Thackeray said, “Nobody reacts when Asaduddin Owaisi and his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi speak against Hindu gods and goddesses, but when Nupur Sharma said something, there was a nationwide furore. Zakir Naik is a Muslim preacher, who absconded from India, he is the founder of Islamic Research Foundation. He said the same thing that Nupur Sharma said about the Prophet. Nobody said anything about Zakir Naik, Why?”

Raj Thackeray may be having his own political axe to grind. What Owaisi said about Raja Singh’s use of abusive language is justified. Nobody can support such abuses and filthy remarks. Raja Singh must be punished. He has not committed such acts for the first time. He had done it in the past too. He considers this his USP. He probably thinks such remarks would help him to bolster his presence in Hyderabad, dominated by Owaisi.

There is a political angle behind what Raja Singh did, and Chief Minister KCR is part of this political gambit. Comedian Munawar Faruqui has been facing cases for insulting Hindu gods and goddesses. He was sent to jail too, and yet, KCR’s government gave him permission to do a show in Hyderabad. This was done clearly to send a message to Muslims that TRS and KCR do not work under pressure from Hindu outfits.

Faruqui was permitted to do his show in Hyderabad because of the ruling party’s eye on Muslim vote. The administration kept Raja Singh under house arrest, and he and his supporters could not prevent Faruqui. In order to keep his support base intact, Raja Singh decided to record the offensive hate video and posted it on social media. He spewed poison against Islam and its Prophet. Owaisi’s party leaders noted that KCR and Raja Singh were now dominating Hyderabad politics, and this could be a loss to AIMIM. In order to consolidate his base, Owaisi, his brother and his supporters are now active for the last two days. AIMIM supporters have hit the streets, chanting ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ slogans.

All in all, it’s a game of politics. But in their quest for garnering votes, they have poisoned the atmosphere in the country. The need of the hour is that people like T. Raja Singh must be prevented from spewing venom, and comedians like Munawar Faruqui must be taught a lesson for insulting Hindu gods and goddesses. Already Hindu saints and top Muslim clerics have denounced this trend. They have appealed to both communities to respect each other’s religions and feelings.

The moot point is that if Raja Singh had to take any step against Faruqui, he could have gone to the police and file a complaint. People, whose feelings were hurt because of abusive remarks by Raja Singh, should have gone to the police. Neither Raja Singh has the right to insult the Prophet, nor anybody has the right to chant the slogan “Sar Tan Se Juda”. But such elements are now going to social media instead of approaching the police.

Social media is being blatantly misused to spread the poison of hate. More often than not, it has been noticed that people create hate videos and post them on social media, since there are no curbs. Whatever happened in Hyderabad for the last two days is the result of peddling hate through social media. Assembly elections are due in Telangana by December next year and political parties are taking up positions.

पाकिस्तान में हिंदू, सिख और ईसाई अल्पसंख्यकों पर जुल्मोसितम की इंतेहा हो गई है। वहां अल्पसंख्यक अब दहशत के साये में जी रहे हैं। हाल ही में पाकिस्तान के सिंध और खैबर पख्तूनख्वा में दो घटनाएं हुईं हैं, जिनमें पाकिस्तानी मुसलमानों ने हिंदू और सिख नागरिकों को निशाना बनाया ।

सोमवार की रात इंडिया टीवी पर प्रसारित मेरे प्राइमटाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में हमने दिखाया कि कैसे सिंध प्रांत के हैदराबाद शहर में एक दलित हिंदू युवक को हजारों जिहादी मुसलमानों ने ईशनिंदा के झूठे आरोप में घेर लिया था। दूसरी घटना एक सिख युवती से जुड़ी है, जो खैबर पख्तूनख्वा प्रांत में स्कूल टीचर थी। पहले उसका अपहरण हुआ, फिर बलात्कार हुआ और उसके बाद जबरन कलमा पढवा कर एक अनपढ़ रिक्शे वाले से उसका निकाह करा दिया गया।

रविवार को हुई पहली घटना में हजारों मुसलमानों ने सिंध प्रांत के हैदराबाद शहर में एक इमारत को घेर लिया था। इस इमारत में अशोक कुमार नाम का एक हिंदू सफाई कर्मचारी छिपा हुआ था और प्रदर्शन कर रहे मुसलमान उसे बाहर निकालने की मांग कर रहे थे। प्रदर्शन कर रही भीड़ के सिर पर खून सवार था और वे अशोक कुमार का सिर कलम कर देना चाहते थे। चरमपंथी इस्लामिक संगठन तहरीक-ए-लब्बैक पाकिस्तान (TLP) के समर्थकों ने आरोप लगाया कि अशोक कुमार ने पवित्र कुरान को जलाया था । एक स्थानीय निवासी बिलाल अब्बासी ने शिकायत की थी कि उसे एक मौलाना ने बताया कि अशोक ने कुरान में आग लगाई ।

हमने जो वीडियो दिखाये उनमें कुछ प्रदर्शनकारी खिड़की के शीशे तोड़कर बिल्डिंग में घुसने की कोशिश कर रहे थे, जबकि कई जिहादी पाइप और बालकनी के सहारे ऊपर जाने के लिए जोर लगा रहे हैं। इस पूरे वाकये के वक्त वहां खड़े पुलिसवाले चुपचाप सब कुछ देख रहे थे। भीड़ ने इलाके की दुकानों, कारों और आसपास की इमारतों में जमकर तोड़फोड़ की। ये सिलसिला कई घंटों तक चलता रहा। पुलिस ने लाठीचार्ज किया और आंसू गैस के गोले दागे। हालात को काबू में करने के लिए पुलिस ने अशोक कुमार के खिलाफ ईशनिंदा का मामला दर्ज किया, और उसे चुपके से थाने ले गई।

बाद में पता लगा कि अशोक कुमार ने कुरान पाक नहीं जलाया थास बल्कि एक मुस्लिम महिला ने ये बेअदबी की थी। जांच करने पर पुलिस ने पाया कि बिलाल अब्बासी की अशोक कुमार के परिवार से पुरानी दुश्मनी थी, और उसने उस पर इस्लाम की तौहीन का झूठा आरोप लगाया था। पुलिस ने बिलाल अब्बासी या प्रदर्शनकारियों के खिलाफ कोई कार्रवाई नहीं की, बल्कि अशोक कुमार को बेगुनाह होते हुए भी गिरफ्तार कर जेल में डाल दिया।

पाकिस्तान एक इस्लामिक मुल्क है। वहां दुनिया का सबसे सख्त ईशनिंदा कानून लागू है। पाकिस्तान के फौजी तानाशाह जनरल जिया उल हक ने ईशनिंदा कानून को बेहद सख्त बना दिया था। जहां क़ुरान, पैगंबर मुहम्मद या इस्लाम में मुकद्दस किताबों या सम्मानित लोगों के खिलाफ कुछ भी बोलने की सजा मौत है। दुख की बात यह है कि इस कानून का इस्तेमाल अक्सर, पाकिस्तान के हिन्दुओं, सिखों और ईसाइयों के खिलाफ किया जाता है। अल्पसंख्यकों की संपत्ति पर कब्जा करने के लिए, दुश्मनी का बदला लेने के लिए ईशनिंदा के इल्जाम लगाए जाते हैं। पाकिस्तान के अपने सरकारी आंकड़ों के मुताबिक, ईशनिंदा का आरोप लगाकर अभी तक 71 पुरुषों और 18 महिलाओं की हत्या की जा चुकी है। ये तो सिर्फ वे आंकड़े हैं जो चर्चा में आ गए, वरना इस तरह के 90 फीसदी से ज्यादा मामले तो रिपोर्ट ही नहीं होते।

पिछले 2 सालों में मुसलमानों की भीड़ ने कई हिंदू मंदिरों में तोड़फोड़ की और कइयों को तो पूरी तरह जमींदोज कर दिया। 26 जनवरी 2020 को सिंध के थारपारकर में माता मंदिर में तोड़फोड़ की गई, 16 अगस्त 2020 को कराची में हनुमान मंदिर को निशाना बनाया गया, 10 अक्टूबर 2020 को सिंध प्रांत के बदीन में रामदेव मंदिर में तोड़फोड़ की गई, 24 अक्टूबर 2020 को सिंध के नगरपारकर में माता मंदिर को क्षतिग्रस्त कर दिया गया, 30 दिसंबर 2020 को खैबर पख्तूनख्वा में एक हिंदू मंदिर को आग के हवाले कर दिया गया और 28 मार्च 2021 को रावलपिंडी में एक और हिंदू मंदिर में तोड़फोड़ की गई। ईशनिंदा के आरोप में अल्पसंख्यक समुदायों के सैकड़ों लोग जेलों में बंद हैं।

जमीनी हकीकत यही है कि पाकिस्तान में हिन्दुओं और सिखों को परेशान करने के लिए किसी कानून की जरूरत भी नहीं हैं। वहां बंदूक के बल पर, जोर जबरदस्ती के दम पर भी अल्पसंख्यकों को मजहब बदलने पर, इस्लाम कबूल करने पर मजबूर किया जाता है।

एक स्कूल में बतौर टीचर काम कर रही सिख लड़की दीना कुमारी का 20 अगस्त को कई लोगों ने बंदूक की नोक पर अपहरण कर लिया, उसके साथ बलात्कार किया और उससे जबरन इस्लाम कबूल करवा लिया। इसके बाद एक अनपढ़ रिक्शे वाले से दीना का निकाह करा दिया गया। यह घटना खैबर पख्तूनख्वा प्रांत के बुनेर में हुई। बाजार से लौट रही दीना को कुछ बंदूकधारियों ने अगवा कर लिया। उसे शहर से दूर एक गांव में ले जाकर कैद कर दिया गया। कुछ ही घंटों के बाद उसे कलमा पढ़वा कर इस्लाम कबूल करने को मजबूर किया गया और एक रिक्शे वाले से उसकी शादी कर दी गई। इस दौरान दीना कौर के परिवार वाले थाने के चक्कर काटते रहे, लेकिन पुलिस वालों ने रिपोर्ट तक नहीं लिखी।

सोमवार को सैकड़ों सिख सड़कों पर उतर आए और दीना कुमारी को उन्हें सौंपने की मांग को लेकर प्रदर्शन किया। स्थानीय सिख नेताओं ने आरोप लगाया कि पुलिस की मिलीभगत से दीना कुमारी का अपहरण किया गया। जब भारत और अन्य देशों के सिखों ने पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ प्रोटेस्ट करना शुरू किया, तो मीडिया के ज़रिये दीना कौर का एक वीडियो पेश किया गया जिसमें वह ये कहती हुई दिख रही है कि उसने अपनी मर्जी से इस्लाम कबूल किया है और शादी उसकी मर्जी से हुई है। वीडियो में दीना कहती हुई दिख रही है कि वह इस्लाम की शिक्षा से बहुत प्रभावित है।

सिख प्रदर्शनकारियों ने वीडियो की प्रामाणिकता को चुनौती देते हुए कहा कि दीना कुमारी पर दबाव डालकर ये वीडियो बनाया गया । एक सिख प्रदर्शनकारी ने आरोप लगाया कि बुनेर के स्थानीय प्रशासन ने लड़की पर दवाब डाला और उसे इस्लाम कबूल करने और निकाह करने के लिए मजबूर किया। एक अन्य सिख प्रदर्शनकारी ने कहा, ‘उन्होंने थाने में हमारी FIR दर्ज नहीं की। सीनियर पुलिस अफसर हमें संतोषजनक जवाब नहीं दे रहे थे। वे भी इस गुनाह में शामिल हैं। प्रशासन ने लड़की को कागज़ात पर दस्तखत करने के लिए मजबूर किया।’

दिल्ली में बीजेपी नेता मनजिंदर सिंह सिरसा के नेतृत्व में भारतीय सिख नेताओं का एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल सोमवार को विदेश मंत्रालय पहुंचा। उन्होंने वहां पाकिस्तान मामलों के संयुक्त सचिव जे पी सिंह से मुलाकात की, और उनसे मांग की कि भारत सरकार पाकिस्तान में सिखों पर हो रहे जुल्म को रोकने के लिए पाकिस्तान सरकार से बात करे। दिल्ली सिख गुरुद्वारा प्रबंधक कमेटी के अध्यक्ष हरमीत सिंह कालका ने कहा कि अब दुनिया के तमाम हिस्सों में बसे सिख अपने स्तर पर पाकिस्तान के सिखों की मदद की कोशिश करें और उन पर हो रहे अत्याचारों के खिलाफ आवाज उठाएं। कालका ने मांग की कि पाकिस्तान में रहने वाले सिखों को भारत लाया जाए। पाकिस्तान में इस समय करीब 10 हजार सिख हैं।

1947 में देश के बंटवारे के वक्त पाकिस्तान में सिखों की आबादी 20 लाख थी। अब वहां सिर्फ 15 से 20 हजार सिख बचे हैं। बंटवारे के वक्त पाकिस्तान में हिन्दुओं की आबादी 13 फीसदी थी, जो अब घटकर सिर्फ 0.8 फीसदी रह गई है। पाकिस्तान, अफगानिस्तान और बांग्लादेश से अक्सर हिन्दुओं पर, सिखों पर, और दूसरे अल्पसंख्यकों पर जुल्म की खबरें आती हैं।

इन देशों से बहुत से हिन्दू और सिख अपना घर बार छोड़कर भारत आ जाते हैं। अभी ऐसे लोगों को भारत की नागरिकता देने की प्रक्रिया बहुत लंबी और कठिन है। हालांकि सरकार अब इसे आसान बना रही है। सोमवार को अहमदाबाद में 40 पाकिस्तानी हिन्दुओं को भारत की नागरिकता का प्रमाणपत्र दिया गया । 2017 से अब तक सिर्फ अहमदाबाद में ही 1032 पाकिस्तानी हिन्दुओं को भारत की नागरिकता दी जा चुकी है।

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की सरकार ने पाकिस्तान, अफगानिस्तान और बांग्लादेश में जुल्म के शिकार हिन्दुओं, सिखों, ईसाइयों, बौद्धों और जैनों की मदद के लिए नागरिकता संशोधन अधिनियम (सिटिजनशिप अमेंडमेंट ऐक्ट) बनाया था, लेकिन इस कानून के खिलाफ शाहीन बाग मे धरना हुआ, तमाम जगहों पर प्रदर्शन किये गये। CAA संसद से पास हो चुका है, राष्ट्रपति इस पर दस्तखत भी कर चुके हैं, लेकिन अभी भी देश में यह कानून लागू नहीं हुआ है। मुझे लगता है कि सरकार को दो काम तुरंत करने चाहिए। पहला, पाकिस्तान से सख्त अंदाज में बात करनी चाहिए, और दूसरा, देश में जल्द से जल्द CAA लागू करना चाहिए।

The atrocities on Hindu, Sikh and Christian minorities in Pakistan have now reached alarming proportions. Minorities in Pakistan are now living in a state of fear. Two recent incidents took place in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa provinces, where Pakistani Muslims targeted Hindu and Sikh citizens.

In my primetime show ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ telecast on India TV on Monday night, we showed how a Dalit Hindu youth was hounded by thousands of jihadi Muslims on a false charge of blasphemy in Hyderabad city of Sindh province. The other incident related to a young Sikh girl, who was working as a school teacher in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province. She was abducted, gang raped, forcibly converted to Islam and married off to an illiterate rickshaw puller.

In the first incident that took place on Sunday, thousands of Muslims, shouting blood-curdling slogans, surrounded a building that housed Hindu families in Hyderabad city of Sindh province and demanded that the Dailt Hindu youth Ashok Kumar, a sanitation worker, be handing over to them for lynching. Supporters of the extremist Islamic group Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) alleged that Ashok Kumar had committed blasphemy by setting fire to the Holy Quran. A local resident Bilal Abbasi alleged that he was told by a Maulana that Ashok has set fire to the Holy Quran.

In the visuals that we showed, the supporters tried to forcibly enter the building by breaking windowpanes, while other tried to enter the building by scaling pipes and balconies. A few dozen policemen stood as silent spectators. The mob ransacked shops and other buildings in the locality. This went on for several hours. Police resorted to lathi charge and teargas firing. To control the situation, police filed a blasphemy case against Ashok Kumar, and quickly whisked him away to the police station.

Later it was found that Ashok Kumar had not burnt the Holy Quran, but it was done by a Muslim woman. On investigation, police found that Bilal Abbasi had an old grudge against Ashok Kumar’s family, and he levelled a false charge of blasphemy. No action was taken by police either against Bilal Abbasi or protesters. Instead, Ashok Kumar was arrested and thrown into jail, despite being innocent.

Pakistan, being an Islamic republic, strictly enforces blasphemy law that was enacted by former dictator Gen. Zia ul Haq. Under this law, any person who insults the Holy Quran, or Prophet Mohammed or any holy Islamic book, in writing or by speech or by action, shall be given the death sentence. This blasphemy law has been used mostly against Hindu, Sikh and Christian minorities in Pakistan. The main intent of those levelling such allegations of blasphemy appears to be to grab properties of minorities or to take revenge for past enmity. Official statistics say, 71 men and 18 women have been killed in Pakistan on charge of blasphemy. These are official statistics, and the ground reality is that more than 90 per cent of such killings or lynchings are not reported.

In the last two years, several Hindu temples were destroyed or ransacked by Muslim mobs. On January 26, 2020, the Mata temple in Tharparkar of Sindh was ransacked, On August 16, 2020, Hanuman temple in Karachi was destroyed, on October 10, 2020, Ramdev temple in Badin, Sindh province was ransacked, on October 24, 2020, the Mata temple in Nagarparkar, Sindh was damaged, on December 30, 2020, a Hindu temple in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa was set on fire, and on March 28 this year, another Hindu temple in Rawalpindi was ransacked. There are hundreds of people from minority communities languishing in prisons on charge of blasphemy.
The ground reality is that laws are not required to harass Hindus and Sikhs in Pakistan. They are threatened at the point of guns, and in many cases, they are forced to accept Islam.

On August 20, Dina Kumari, a Sikh girl, working as a school teacher, was abducted at the point of a gun by several persons, raped, forcibly converted to Islam and then married off to an illiterate rickshaw puller. This incident took place in Buner of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province. She was returning from the market when some gunmen abducted her. She was kept in a remote village and was forced to read the ‘kalma’ (Islamic hymn) and accept Islam. She was forcibly married to a rickshaw puller. Dina Kaur’s relatives went to police stations, but police refused to register a case.

On Monday, hundreds of Sikhs came out on the streets and staged protests demanding that Dina Kumar be handed over to them. Local Sikh leaders alleged that she was abducted in connivance with local police. When an outcry took place among Sikhs in India and other countries, a video of Dina Kaur was given to media, in which she was shown saying that she had accepted Islam and married on her own will. In the video, she was shown saying that she was very much attracted to the teachings of Islam.

Sikh protesters challenged the authenticity of the video, saying it has been prepared by exerting force on Dina Kumari. One Sikh protester alleged that the local administration of Buner tortured her and forced her to accept Islam and get married. “They have not registered our FIR in the police station. Senior police officials are not giving us satisfactory answers. They are partners in this crime. The administration forced her to sign the documents”, another Sikh protester said.

A delegation of Indian Sikh leaders led by BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Monday met J. P. Singh, joint secretary on Pakistan affairs in the Ministry of External Affairs, and demanded that India must raise the issue of atrocities on Sikhs in Pakistan. Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee chief Harmeet Singh Kalka said, Sikhs throughout the world show raise their voice against atrocities on their brethren in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Kalka demanded that Sikhs living in Pakistan must be brought to India. There are nearly ten thousand Sikhs living in Pakistan.

At the time of Partition in 1947, there were nearly 20 lakh Sikhs in Pakistan. This population has now dwindled to 15 to 20 thousand. In 1947, Hindus constituted 13 per cent of Pakistan’s population. This has now dwindled to 0.8 per cent. Reports of atrocities on Hindus and Sikhs regularly come from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

The present process of giving Indian citizenship to these minorities is a long drawn one. The government of India is now trying to make this process less cumbersome. On Monday, in Ahmedabad, 40 Pakistani Hindus were handed over Indian citizenship certificates. Since 2017, 1,032 Pakistani Hindus have been given Indian citizenship in Ahmedabad alone.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government had enacted Citizenship Amendment Act to grant Indian citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhist and Jains living in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, but there were protests in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh against CAA. This law has been passed by Parliament and has been signed by the President, but the CAA is yet to be implemented. I feel, the government should take two steps immediately. One, it should give a stern warning to Pakistan, and Two, the Citizenship Amendment Act must be implemented at the earliest.

देश की आजादी के 75 वीं वर्षगांठ का जश्न मनाने से तीन दिन पहले शुक्रवार को अधिकांश शहरों में हजारों लोग पूरे गर्व के साथ हाथों में तिरंगा लहराते हुए सड़कों पर निकले। श्रीनगर की खूबसूरत डल झील से लेकर तमिलनाडु में धनुषकोडी के समुद्री किनारों तक, गुजरात के कच्छ से लेकर असम के कामरूप तक सिर्फ तिरंगा ही तिरंगा दिखाई दिया। सड़कों पर तिरंगे का सैलाब उमड़ पड़ा।हाथ में तिरंगा और जुबां पर देशभक्ति के नारे थे। हाथों में तिरंगा लिए लोगों ने वंदे मातरम, राष्ट्रगान जन गण मन और सारे जहां से अच्छा हिंदोस्तान हमारा गाया। देश के लगभग हर शहर और कस्बे में लोगों ने अपने घरों पर तिरंगा लहाराया।

चाहे दिल्ली हो या भोपाल, खरगोन, इंदौर, शाजापुर, पटना, कानुपर, लखनऊ, बनारस, इलाहाबाद, सहारनपुर, अहमदाबाद, सूरत, जामनगर, राजकोट, वडोदरा, मुंबई, पुणे, नागपुर, नासिक, जम्मू, श्रीनगर, लेह, गुवाहाटी, गंगटोक, हैदराबाद या फिर चेन्नई, हाथों में तिरंगा लिए और देशभक्ति के गाने गाते आम लोगों की तस्वीरें हर तरफ दिखीं।

तिंरगा देश की एकता और अखंडता का प्रतीक है। यह अनेकता में एकता का प्रतीक है। पुरुषों, महिलाओं, बुजुर्गों और बच्चों ने पूरे उत्साह के साथ तिरंगा रैली में हिस्सा लिया। सबसे खास और उत्साह बढ़ानेवाली तस्वीरें देश की विभिन्न मस्जिदों से आई जहां मुअज्जिन ने जुमे की नमाज के बाद तिरंगा लहराने का आह्वान किया था।

मदरसों में छोटे- छोटे बच्चों ने शान से तिरंगा लहराया। जुमे की नमाज के बाद मस्जिदों में देशभक्ति के तराने बजे। मदरसों में बच्चों को तिरंगे का महत्व बताया गया। मौलवियों ने वतन परस्ती और वतन से मोहब्बत पर तकरीरें की। जिन लोगों को मुस्लिम भाइयों की देशभक्ति पर थोड़ा भी शक है उन्हें इन तस्वीरों को जरूर देखना चाहिए जिसे हमने शुक्रवार रात अपने प्राइम टाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में दिखाया।

मध्य प्रदेश के छोटे से शहर शाजापुर में हजारों मुसलमान जुमे की नमाज के बाद तिरंगा थामे शहर की सड़कों पर निकल पड़े। बाजार में जुलूस निकाला और तिरंगे के सम्मान में नारे लगाए। पूरा बाजार हिंदुस्तान जिंदाबाद के नारे से गूंज उठा। बड़े-बड़े स्पीकर्स के जरिए दशभक्ति के गाने बजे तो पूरा माहौल देशभक्ति की भावना से लबरेज हो गया।

ये बात सही है कि आजादी में हर हिन्दुस्तानी की भूमिका थी।अंग्रेजों के खिलाफ हिन्दू, मुसलमान, सिख, ईसाई सब कंधे से कंधा मिलाकर लड़े और आजादी हासिल की। कुछ महीने पहले खरगोन की हिंसा को लेकर मध्य प्रदेश में हिन्दू-मुसलमान की दूरियों की बहुत चर्चा हुई लेकिन शुक्रवार की तस्वीरों ने दिखा दिया कि जब सवाल देश की आन-बान-शान का हो तो हर हिन्दुस्तानी कंधे से कंधा मिलाकर खड़ा होगा। मैं आपको बता दूं कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की अपील ने लोगों के दिलों में एक नया जोश भर दिया है।

पुराने लखनऊ के हैदरगंज इलाके में लोगों ने तिरंगा यात्रा निकाली।अबु बकर मस्जिद में जुमे की नमाज़ के बाद मुसलमान भाई इकट्ठा हुए और देशभक्ति के नारे लगाए। लखनऊ के इस्लामिक सेंटर में मौलाना खालिद रशीदी फिरंगी महली की संस्था में पढ़ने वाले सैकड़ों मुस्लिम छात्र भी भारत माता की जय बोलते हुए तिरंगा रैली में शरीक हुए। इन छात्रों ने गर्व से देशभक्ति के गीत गाए।

हरियाणा के गुरुग्राम की तस्वीरें तो वाकई में दिल को छूने वाली थीं। गुरुग्राम में जुमे की नमाज तिंरगे के सामने पढ़ी गई। नमाज से पहले मुस्लिम भाइयों ने तिरंगा फहराया और राष्ट्रगान गाया। उसके बाद नमाज पढ़ी और फिर पूरे देश में भाईचारे और अमन के लिए दुआ की। मुंबई में भी मुसलमानों में ऐसा ही उत्साह दिखा। यहां लोगों के बीच तिरंगे बांटे गए और इमारतों पर फहराया गया। क्रॉफर्ड मार्केट में मुंबई की सबसे पुरानी जुम्मा मस्जिद में नमाजियों को तिरंगे दिए गए। सभी ने हाथों में तिरंगा लिए भारत माता की जय के नारे लगाए। वडाला में जुमे की नमाज के बाद तमाम नमाजी मस्जिद के सामने तिरंगा लेकर खड़े हो गए और देशभक्ति के तराने गाने लगे। इन लोगों ने तिरंगे को सलामी भी दी।

श्रीनगर की डल झील के पानी में सिर्फ तिरंगे दिख रहे थे। डल झील पर चल रहे शिकारों में जो तिरंगे लगे थे उनकी परछाई डल के पानी में भी तिरंगे की छाप छोड़ रही थी। लेह में ITBP की तरफ से स्कूल में तिरंगे बांटे गए और स्टूडेंट को देश की आज़ादी के संघर्ष के बारे में बताया गया। वहीं सिक्किम की राजधानी गंगटोक में एमजी रोड पर लगे विशाल तिरंगे पर ITBP ने हेलीकॉप्टर से फूल बरसाए।

हमारा तिरंगा सिर्फ कपड़ा नहीं है, यह सिर्फ एक झंडा नहीं है, देश के बाहर यही तिरंगा हर हिन्दुस्तानी की पहली पहचान है। यह तिरंगा वो छत्र है जिसकी छाया में हर हिन्दुस्तानी सुरक्षित है। तिरंगा वह प्रतीक है जो हर हिन्दुस्तानी को गर्व की अनुभूति कराता है। तिरंगा वो निशान है जिसकी शान की खातिर आजादी के लाखों परवानों ने हंसते-हंसते खुद को कुर्बान कर दिया। तिरंगा किसी कौम का नहीं है। यह किसी एक मजहब का नहीं है। यह तिरंगा किसी इलाके का नहीं है। तिरंगा हर हिन्दुस्तानी का है। हमारे पूर्वजों, स्वतन्त्रता संग्राम सेनानियों ने तिरंगे को कभी झुकने नहीं दिया, कभी गिरने नहीं दिया, इसकी शान में कभी दाग नहीं लगने दिया। अब हम सबकी जिम्मेदारी है कि तिरंगे की शान को और बढ़ाएं।

आइए, हम आज से लेकर 15 अगस्त तक अपने घरों पर तिरंगा फहराएं। 15 अगस्त को देश आजादी की 75 वीं सालगिरह का जश्न मनाएगा जिसे हासिल करने के लिए हमारे पूर्वजों ने बड़ी कीमत चुकाई है। बेशक, कभी-कभी जब कुछ घटनाएं होती हैं तो लगता है कि देशप्रेम में कुछ कमी आई है और तिरंगे के कुछ रंग फीके पड़ने लगे हैं। लेकिन शुक्रवार को पूरे देश से जो तस्वीरें आईं, जो जज्बा सामने आया, वह सारे शक-सुबहे को मिट्टी में मिलाने के लिए काफी है।

मैं तो प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी को इस बात के लिए धन्यवाद दूंगा कि उन्होंने ‘हर घर तिरंगा’ अभियान की अपील करके देशवासियों को देश के प्रति अपने जज्बे को प्रकट करने का मौका दिया। इससे एकता और सामाजिक सद्भाव की जड़ें और मजबूत होंगी।

Three days before the nation goes to celebrate the 75th year of independence, thousands came out in the streets in most of the cities of India on Friday proudly waving the national Tricolour, our beloved Tiranga.

From the beautiful Dal lake in Srinagar to the sea shores of Dhanushkodi in Tamil Nadu, from the marshland of Kutch in Gujarat to Kamrup in Assam, a sea of tricolour flags was seen on streets, held aloft by our proud citizens. People sang Vande Mataram, our national anthem Jana Gana Mana and Saare Jahan Se Accha Hindostan Hamara, while marching and holding the tricolour. The national flag was flown on housetops in almost every town and city.

Whether it was Delhi, Bhopal, Khargone, Indore, Shajapur, Patna, Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagrah, Saharanpur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Vadodara, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Jammu, Srinagar, Leh Guwahati, Gangtok, Hyderabad or Chennai, there were scenes of jubilation as people marched holding the tricolour.

The tricolour embodies the national aspirations of the Indian people. It reflects the ideals of unity in diversity. Men, women, aged persons and children enthusiastically took part in tiranga rallies. The most encouraging visuals came on Friday from different mosques spread across India, where the muezzin had given the call to devout Muslims to wave the tricolour after Jumma prayers.

In madrasas, small boys and girls proudly waved the tiranga. From the pulpits, moulvis gave sermons to those assembled about the need for nationalistic fervour and expression of love for the nation. Those who doubt the patriotic credentials of our minorities must watch the visuals that we showed on Friday night in my prime time show ‘Aaj Ki Baat’.

In the small town of Shajapur in Madhya Pradesh, thousands of Muslims came out after Friday prayers, holding the tricolour, and marched through the streets chanting Hindustan Zindabad. Loudspeakers in markets played patriotic songs to add zest to the fervour.

Such scenes underline the fact that Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and all other minorities fought shoulder to shoulder to win freedom for India. Gone was the bitterness and rancour that showed up a few months ago in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, when communal violence took place. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clarion call to every Indian to participate in Tiranga rallies has struck a chord in the hearts of people.

In Haiderganj of Old Lucknow, Muslims came out after Friday prayers in Abu Baqr mosque, waved tricolour and chanted patriotic slogans. At the Islamic Centre in Lucknow, hundreds of Muslim students studying in Maulana Khalid Rashidi Firangimahali’s institution, proudly sang patriotic songs.

In Gurugram, Haryana, there were touching scenes as Muslims offered Friday prayers in front of the national flag, and later sang patriotic songs. There was similar enthusiasm among Muslims in Mumbai too, where tricolour flags were distributed and hoisted on buildings. At Mumbai’s oldest Jumma mosque in Crawford Market, tricolour flags were distributed among the people. At the Wadala Masjid, devout Muslims, after Friday prayers, started singing patriotic songs and saluted the national flag.

The famous Dal Lake in Srinagar was practically decked with tricolour flags hoisted atop ‘shikaras’ (boats), and the shadows of the tricolour floated in the water of the lake. The ITBP personnel distributed tricolour flags in the schools of Leh, Laddakh, while in Gangtok, capital of Sikkim, an ITBP helicopter poured flower petals on a huge tricolour flag hoisted on M.G. Road.

Our national tricolour is not just a piece of cloth, it is not merely a flag, it is the core identity for every Indian outside India. Our tricolour is the umbrella under which every Indian finds solace and protection. It is the symbol which kindles pride in the heart of every Indian. It is the symbol for which millions of Indians gave their supreme sacrifice. The tricolour does not belong to one religion, or one region. It belongs to every Indian. Our ancestors, our brave freedom fighters never allowed the tricolour to bow in front of others in their fight for freedom. They never allowed any dark blot on our tricolour. It is now our collective responsibility to ensure that the dignity of our tricolour is enhanced.

Let us fly our beloved national tricolour from our homes from today till August 15, when we will be celebrating 75 years of ‘azadi’, which our ancestors won at a great cost. Of course, some incidents do took place in our country which occasionally dulls the colours of our tricolour, but the scenes that were witnessed across India on Friday, depict the limitless zest among our people to safeguard our national flag, our national ethos and above all, our independence. Such zest and enthusiasm is sufficient to drown all suspicions and doubts about national unity.

I would like to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching the Tiranga Abhiyan and allowing every Indian to express his or her love for the nation. The roots of national unity and social harmony will surely gain strength.

भारत की आजादी की 75वीं वर्षगांठ के मौके पर गुरुवार को जम्मू-कश्मीर के पुलवामा जिले में ‘हर घर तिरंगा’ रैली में 8,000 से भी ज्यादा छात्रों और नौजवानों ने हिस्सा लिया। यह कार्यक्रम अवंतीपोरा के त्राल इलाके में आयोजित किया गया था, जो कभी आतंकवादियों का गढ़ हुआ करता था।

इससे पहले 5 अगस्त को अनुच्छेद 370 के खात्मे की तीसरी बरसी पर पुंछ जिले में सैकड़ों स्कूली छात्राओं ने एक रैली में हिस्सा लेते हुए तिरंगा लेकर मार्च निकाला था। आतंकियों के एक और गढ़, बांदीपोरा जिले में कश्मीरी स्कूली छात्राओं ने ‘हर घर तिरंगा’ अभियान के तहत राष्ट्रगान और ‘सारे जहां से अच्छा, हिंदोस्तां हमारा’ गाया था। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी द्वारा शुरू किया गया ‘हर घर तिरंगा’ कैंपेन ‘आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव’ (स्वतंत्रता के 75वें वर्ष) का हिस्सा है, जिसमें नागरिकों को अपने घरों पर तिरंगा लहराकर राष्ट्रव्यापी उत्सव में हिस्सा लेने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जा रहा है।

स्टेडियमों, स्कूलों और चौक-चौराहों पर तिरंगा लहराते कश्मीरी नौजवानों की तस्वीरें देखने लायक हैं, क्योंकि 3 साल किसी ने कल्पना भी नहीं की होगी कि घाटी में देशभक्ति से भरपूर इस तरह का कोई आयोजन हो भी सकता है। इन तस्वीरों ने स्वाभाविक रूप से सीमा पार बैठे अलगाववादियों और उनके पाकिस्तानी आकाओं को हताश कर दिया है, और इसी हताशा में वे अब आर्मी के कैंप पर हमला कर रहे हैं और प्रवासी मजदूरों को निशाना बना रहे हैं।

गुरुवार तड़के दो पाकिस्तानी आतंकवादियों ने राजौरी जिले के दरहाल से 9 किलोमीटर दूर परघल गांव में 11वीं राजस्थान राइफल्स के एक आर्मी कैंप में घुसने की कोशिश की। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि उन्होंने कॉम्बैट ड्रेस पहनी हुई थी और उनका ताल्लुक जैश-ए-मोहम्मद से था। सूत्रों के मुताबिक, उन्हें पहली बार मंगलवार शाम को दरहाल बस स्टैंड पर देखा गया था, लेकिन पुलिस के मौके पर पहुंचने से पहले ही वे फरार हो गए थे।

गुरुवार तड़के करीब 2.10 बजे दोनों आतंकियों ने बाड़ पार करके चौकी के अंदर घुसने के लिए ग्रेनेड फेंका, लेकिन हमारे सतर्क जवानों ने जवाबी फायरिंग कर उन्हें चुनौती दी। आतंकवादी खराब मौसम का फायदा उठाकर अंदर घुसने में कामयाब रहे, और भारी गोलीबारी में स्टील कोर गोलियों का इस्तेमाल किया। दोनों आतंकियों को ढेर कर दिया गया, लेकिन 4 घंटे तक चली इस मुठभेड़ में सेना के 4 जवान वीरगति को प्राप्त हुए। इन जवानों में राजस्थान के झुंझुनू के सूबेदार राजेंद्र प्रसाद, तमिलनाडु के मदुरै के राइफलमैन लक्ष्मणराव, हरियाणा के फरीदाबाद के राइफलमैन मनोज कुमार और हरियाणा के हिसार के राइफलमैन निशांत मलिक शामिल हैं। मारे गए आतंकियों के पास से 2 एके राइफल और भारी मात्रा में हथियार, गोला-बारूद और विस्फोटक बरामद किए गए हैं।

एक वरिष्ठ सुरक्षा अधिकारी ने बताया कि राजौरी और नौशेरा इलाकों में सर्च ऑपरेशन शुरू कर दिया गया है क्योंकि ऐसी खुफिया जानकारी मिली है कि पाकिस्तान स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोह में खलल डालने के लिए बड़ी संख्या में ‘फिदायीन’ आतंकी भेज रहा है। उन्होंने कहा, ‘वे (आतंकवादी) यहां भी उरी जैसा हमला दोहराना चाहते थे, लेकिन हमारे जवानों ने बहादुरी से मुकाबला किया और उन्हें मार गिराया। नियंत्रण रेखा दरहाल से करीब 30 किमी दूर है और इसमें दो संभावनाएं निकलकर आ रही हैं। या तो आतंकवादी LoC पार कर दरहाल पहुंचने के लिए पहाड़ी रास्ता अपना रहे हैं या फिर उन्हें जैश कमांडरों ने दक्षिण कश्मीर से भेजा है।

कश्मीर घाटी में अलगाववादी और आतंकवादी संगठन अब हताश हो गए हैं, क्योंकि ज्याद से ज्यादा कश्मीरी नौजवान अब स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोह और तिरंगा रैलियों में हिस्सा ले रहे हैं। ये रैलियां उन इलाकों में निकल रही हैं जो कभी आतंकियों का गढ़ हुआ करते थे, जहां सुरक्षाबलों पर नौजवान पत्थर बरसाते थे। लेकिन अब कश्मीरी लड़कियां हिजाब पहनकर गर्व से तिरंगा लहरा रही हैं और राष्ट्रगान गा रही हैं। यह बदला हुआ कश्मीर है, पिछले 3 साल में घाटी की फिजा बदल चुकी है। पुलवामा जिले के डिप्टी कमिश्नर बशीर-उल हक चौधरी ने कहा कि इस बार कश्मीरी आवाम का जोश देखने लायक है। उन्होंने कहा, ‘लोग खुद ब खुद अपने घरों से तिरंगा लेकर निकल रहे हैं।’

पुंछ के उर्दू स्कूल में स्थानीय प्रशासन ने कार्यक्रम का आयोजन नहीं किया था। यहां छोटे-छोटे बच्चों और बच्चियों ने स्कूल को तिरंगे के रंग में रंग दिया। हजारों छात्र एक साथ तिरंगा लेकर खड़े थे। खास बात यह है कि इन्हें तिरंगा किसी ने दिया नहीं था, मुफ्त में मिला नहीं था, ये अपने घर से तिरंगा लेकर आए थे। उन्हें स्कूल के टीचर्स ने प्रेरित किया था, और देशभक्ति के गीतों पर गाने और डांस का रिहर्सल करवाया था। गुरुवार की रात अपने प्राइम टाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में हमने दिखाया था कि कैसे छोटी-छोटी बच्चियां पूरे जोश के साथ ‘सारे जहां से अच्छा, हिन्दोस्तां हमारा’ गा रही थीं।

आतंकवादियों के एक और गढ़ अनंतनाग में सैकड़ों स्थानीय लोगों ने तिरंगा रैली में हिस्सा लिया और ‘हिंदुस्तान जिंदाबाद’ जैसे नारे लगाए। श्रीनगर में BSF के जवानों ने पंथा चौक से डल झील तक तिरंगा बाइक रैली निकाली। हाल के महीनों में घाटी के हालात में काफी बदलाव आया है।

जाहिर सी बात है कि घाटी के लोगों में राष्ट्रवाद की भावना को हिलोरें लेता देखकर आतंकवादी हताशा से भर गए हैं। बांदीपोरा जिले के सुंबल के सोदनारा में गुरुवार की रात आतंकियों ने बिहार के प्रवासी मजदूर मोहम्मद अमरेज को गोली मार दी। वह घाटी के ही एक शख्स के घर पर रहता था। ‘सॉफ्ट टारगेट’ को निशाने पर लेकर ये आतंकी घाटी में रहने वाले बाहरी लोगों के बीच डर पैदा करने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं, लेकिन ऐसा करके वे कश्मीरियों का समर्थन खोते जा रहे हैं।

कश्मीर में तिरंगा लहराते नौजवानों की तस्वीरें, तिरंगे के साथ देशभक्ति के गीत गाती बेटियों की तस्वीरें, महबूबा मुफ्ती जैसे उन नेताओं को करारा जवाब है जो कहते थे कि अगर अनुच्छेद 370 को हटाया तो कश्मीर में तिरंगा उठाने वाला कोई नहीं मिलेगा। लेकिन उनकी यह आशंका बेबुनियाद साबित हुई और आज कश्मीर में हर हाथ में तिरंगा है, हर घर पर तिंरगा है, हर नौजवानों के दिल में तिरंगा है।

पिछले हफ्ते जम्मू कश्मीर के लेफ्टिनेंट गवर्नर मनोज सिन्हा से मेरी मुलाकात हुई थी। मैंने उनसे घाटी के हालात के बारे में पूछा तो उन्होंने बताया कैसे आज वाकई में कश्मीर की फिजा बदल गई है। सिन्हा ने कहा कि कश्मीर में अमन है, कश्मीर में चैन है, कश्मीर में नए हाईवे, नए अस्पताल, नए पावर प्रोजेक्ट और नए स्कूल बन रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि कश्मीर में मल्टीप्लेक्स बन रहा है, नए स्टेडियम बन रहे हैं, नौजवानों को स्पोर्ट्स की ट्रेनिंग मिल रही है, रोजगार मिल रहा है और खौफ खत्म हो रहा है। अब अलगाववादियों की अपील पर रोज़-रोज़ घाटी में हड़तालें नहीं होती। पिछले एक साल में 1 करोड़ 60 लाख से ज्यादा सैलानी कश्मीर पहुंचे हैं। कश्मीर में इस साल अब तक 136 आतंकी मारे जा चुके हैं। अनुच्छेद 370 के खात्मे के बाद से पिछले 3 सालों में 690 आतंकी मारे जा चुके हैं।

यह इस बात का सबूत है कि कश्मीर के हालात अब बदल चुके हैं। ज़ाहिर सी बात है कि आतंकवादी, अलगाववादी और उनके पाकिस्तानी आका इससे बेचैनी और हताशा महसूस कर रहे हैं। उन्हें ऐसा लगता है कि वे एक हारी हुई लड़ाई लड़ रहे हैं। सेना के कैंप पर गुरुवार को हुआ हमला इसी हताशा और बेचैनी का नतीजा था।

बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार ने गुरुवार को ऐलान किया कि उनका नया मंत्रिमंडल 15 अगस्त के बाद शपथ लेगा, और 24 एवं 25 अगस्त को राज्य विधानसभा का विशेष सत्र बुलाया जाएगा। नई महागठबंधन सरकार विधानसभा में अपना बहुमत साबित करेगी और एक नये विधानसभा अध्यक्ष का चुनाव किया जाएगा। विधानसभा अध्यक्ष के खिलाफ अविश्वास प्रस्ताव का नोटिस भेजा जा चुका है। नए मंत्रियों को दिए जाने वाले विभागों के बारे में गठबंधन सहयोगियों के बीच एक व्यापक समझ बन गई है।

इस बीच, इस बात के साफ संकेत हैं कि नीतीश कुमार दिल्ली पर नजरें गड़ाए हुए हैं और राष्ट्रीय राजनीति में कदम रख सकते हैं। बीजेपी के वरिष्ठ नेता सुशील मोदी, जिन्होंने 10 साल तक नीतीश कुमार की सरपरस्ती में उपमुख्यमंत्री के रूप में काम किया, ने खुलासा किया कि नीतीश ने बीजेपी का साथ छोड़ने का फैसला इसलिए किया क्योंकि बीजेपी हाईकमान ने उपराष्ट्रपति बनाए जाने के उनके अनुरोध को नहीं माना था। सुशील मोदी ने कहा कि जेडीयू के नेताओं ने इस बारे में बीजेपी नेतृत्व से मुलाकात भी की थी, लेकिन ये बात नहीं मानी गयी। सुशील मोदी ने कहा, ‘अगर बीजेपी ने नीतीश को उपराष्ट्रपति बना दिया होता, तो वह एनडीए नहीं छोड़ते और बीजेपी का गुणगान कर रहे होते।’ नीतीश कुमार ने इन आरोपों को ‘बेकार की बातें’ करार दिया।

सुशील मोदी की इस बात में दम है कि नीतीश कुमार अब दिल्ली की राजनीति करना चाहते हैं। जगदीप धनखड़ के उपराष्ट्रपति पद की शपथ लेने के साथ ही यह मुद्दा अब खत्म हो गया है। नीतीश कुमार की नजर पीएम पद पर है, और वह बीजेपी विरोधी ताकतों को लामबंद करने की योजना बना रहे हैं। नीतीश कुमार का दिल्ली की तरफ कूच करने का इरादा तेजस्वी यादव को भी सूट करता है। बिहार का मुख्यमंत्री बनने का उनका सपना ऐसे ही पूरा हो सकता है।

सुशील मोदी ने एक और दिलचस्प खुलासा किया। उन्होंने कहा कि जब गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने नीतीश कुमार को दो दिन पहले फोन किया था और उनसे पूछा था कि उनकी पार्टी के नेता ललन सिंह बीजेपी विरोधी बयान क्यों दे रहे हैं, तो नीतीश कुमार ने जवाब दिया था कि ‘हमारे ललन सिंह आपके गिरिराज जैसे हैं। उनके बयान को ज्यादा महत्व मत दीजिए, चिंता मत कीजिए।’ नीतीश कुमार ने अमित शाह को झांसे में रखा और अगले ही दिन गठबंधन को तोड़ दिया।

बीजेपी नेतृत्व को पूरा भरोसा है कि नीतीश कुमार राष्ट्रीय राजनीति में नाकाम साबित होंगे। बीजेपी नेताओं का कहना है कि नीतीश कुमार, जो 2014 में बिहार से अपनी पार्टी के लिए 40 में से सिर्फ 2 लोकसभा सीटें जीत पाए थे, उन्हें अन्य विपक्षी दल कभी भी गंभीरता से नहीं लेंगे। हालांकि इस बात से भी इनकार नहीं किया जा सकता है कि नीतीश कुमार के अचानक विपक्षी खेमे में घुसने से बीजेपी नेताओं को गहरी चोट लगी है, और इसका दर्द उनके बयानों में दिखाई भी दे रहा है। बीजेपी नेता और केंद्रीय मंत्री गिरिराज सिंह ने बुधवार को कहा कि ‘विपक्ष नीतीश कुमार को चने के झाड़ पर चढ़ा रहा है।’

राष्ट्रीय फलक पर इस समय विपक्षी खेमे में क्षेत्रीय दलों का वर्चस्व है, और यह खेमा नीतीश कुमार के हर कदम को गौर से देख रहा है। एनसीपी सुप्रीमो शरद पवार ने कहा, नीतीश कुमार ने बीजेपी की चाल को समझकर वक्त रहते जो फैसला किया, उसकी तारीफ की जानी चाहिए। पवार ने आरोप लगाया कि बीजेपी ने इससे पहले भी अकाली दल और शिवसेना जैसे अपने पूर्व सहयोगियों को कमजोर किया, लेकिन नीतीश कुमार ने जैसे को तैसा जबाव दिया। उद्धव ठाकरे के नेतृत्व वाली शिवसेना ने भी नीतीश कुमार के इस कदम का स्वागत किया। शिवसेना नेता अरविंद सावंत ने आरोप लगाया कि बीजेपी क्षेत्रीय दलों को कभी पनपने नहीं देना चाहती।

इसी तरह की प्रतिक्रियाएं ममता बनर्जी की तृणमूल कांग्रेस और के. चंद्रशेखर राव की तेलंगाना राष्ट्र समिति की ओर से आईं। केसीआर की बेटी के. कविता ने कहा, ‘बिहार में हुआ सियासी घटनाक्रम पूरे देश के लिए एक शुभ संकेत है और नीतीश कुमार के इस कदम की तारीफ होनी चाहिए।’ AAP सुप्रीमो और दिल्ली के सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल से जब पूछा गया कि क्या उनकी पार्टी पीएम पद के लिए नीतीश कुमार का समर्थन करेगी, तो उन्होंने कहा: ‘लोकसभा चुनाव में अभी वक्त है। तब की तब देखी जाएगी।’

जितनी पार्टियों ने बिहार में हुए बदलाव को ‘देश में बदलाव की शुरूआत’ बताया, ‘बीजेपी की उल्टी गिनती की शुरूआत’ बताया, वे सभी पार्टियां पूरी ताकत के साथ नरेन्द्र मोदी का विरोध करती हैं। शरद पवार, ममता बनर्जी, उद्धव ठाकरे, के. चन्द्रशेखर राव और अरविन्द केजरीवाल जैसे नेता मोदी के खिलाफ बोलने का कोई मौका नहीं छोड़ते।

चूंकि नीतीश ने बीजेपी को झटका दिया है इसलिए अब सभी नीतीश की तारीफ कर रहे हैं, उन्हें देश को दिशा दिखाने वाला बता रहे हैं। नीतीश भी विरोधी दलों की एकता की बात कर रहे हैं। लेकिन जैसे ही यह सवाल पूछा जाएगा कि क्या ये सारे नेता नीतीश को नेता मानने को तैयार हैं, क्या नीतीश को मोदी के मुकाबले प्रधानमंत्री पद के दावेदार के तौर पर पेश करने के लिए तैयार हैं, इस सवाल का जबाव मिलने से पहले ही विपक्षी एकता टूट जाएगी। यही आज विपक्ष की हकीकत है।

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday announced that his new cabinet will take oath after August 15, and a special session of state assembly will be called on August 24 and 25. The new Mahagathbandhan government will prove its majority in the assembly and a new Speaker will be elected. A no-confidence motion notice has been moved against the Speaker. A broad understanding has been reached among alliance partners about the portfolios that would be given to the new ministers.

Meanwhile, there are clear indications that Nitish Kumar may step into national politics with his eyes set on Delhi. Senior BJP leader Sushil Modi, who served as deputy chief minister under Nitish Kumar for ten years, revealed that the JD-U supremo decided to ditch the BJP, after his request to be made the Vice President was not accepted by the BJP high command. Sushil Modi disclosed that JD-U leaders had met BJP leadership with this request, but it was not accepted. ‘Had BJP made Nitish the Vice President, he would not have left the NDA and would have been singing paeans for BJP’, Sushil Modi said. Nitish Kumar denied the allegation as ‘bogus’.

There is no doubt that Nitish Kumar wants to enter national politics. Now that Jagdeep Dhankhar has been sworn in as Vice President, the issue is over. Nitish Kumar is eyeing the PM’s post, and is planning to mobilize anti-BJP forces. Nitish Kumar shifting to Delhi politics will suit his deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav fine. The latter can then fulfil his dream to become the Bihar CM.

One more interesting disclosure was made by Sushil Modi. He revealed that Home Minister Amit Shah rang up Nitish Kumar two days and asked why his party leaders like Lallan Singh were making anti-BJP remarks. Nitish Kumar replied that “our Lallan Singh is just like your Giriraj Singh. Please do not give much importance to his remarks, please do not worry”. Nitish Kumar kept Amit Shah in the dark and snapped his alliance with the BJP.

BJP leadership is confident that Nitish Kumar will prove to be a dud in national politics. BJP leaders say, Nitish Kumar, who could not win two Lok Sabha seats for his party from Bihar in 2014, will never be taken seriously by other opposition parties. Of course, it cannot be denied that the sudden crossover by Nitish Kumar to the opposition camp has pained BJP leaders, and it is visible from their remarks. On Wednesday, BJP leader and Union Minister Giriraj Singh lashed out saying ‘the opposition is leading Nitish Kumar up a blind alley’.

The opposition camp in national politics, dominated by regional parties, is observing Nitish Kumar’s moves keenly. NCP supremo Sharad Pawar said, Nitish Kumar took a timely and correct decision, which is laudable. Pawar alleged that BJP had earlier weakened its former allies Akali Dal and Shiv Sena in a similar manner, but this time it was Nitish Kumar who paid BJP back in its own coin. The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena also welcomed Nitish Kumar’s move, with party leader Arvind Sawant alleging that BJP will never allow regional parties to grow.

Similar reactions came from Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress and K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s Telangana Rashtra Samiti. KCR’s daughter K. Kavitha said, ‘the political development in Bihar is a good sign for the country and Nitish Kumar’s move must be praised’. AAP supremo and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, when asked whether his party would support Nitish Kumar for the post of PM, said: “We will decide when the Lok Sabha elections will take place.”

All the opposition leaders who described the Bihar developments as “the beginning of change” and “beginning of countdown against BJP”, are already known for their staunch anti-Modi stand. Leaders like Sharad Pawar, Mamata Banerjee, Uddhav Thackeray, K. Chandrashekhar Rao and Arvind Kejriwal do not leave any opportunity to criticize Modi.

Since Nitish Kumar has given a shock to the BJP, these leaders are now praising him. Nitish Kumar is also giving call for opposition unity. But when questions will be asked whether these parties would accept Nitish as their leader to challenge Modi for the post of PM, the opposition unity will crash to pieces even before the answers are given. नीतीश कुमार ने बुधवार को रिकॉर्ड आठवीं बार बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में शपथ ली, जबकि उनके नए सहयोगी तेजस्वी यादव ने बतौर उपमुख्यमंत्री शपथ ली। सात पार्टियों के मेल वाली महागठबंधन सरकार का विस्तार बाद में किया जाएगा। शपथ लेने के तुरंत बाद नीतीश कुमार ने पत्रकारों से बात करते हुए विपक्षी एकता का आह्वान किया।

नीतीश कुमार ने कहा, ‘जो लोग 2014 में सत्ता में आए, वे 2024 के आगे रह पाएंगे या नहीं? मैं चाहता हूं कि सभी (विपक्ष में) 2024 के लिए एकजुट हों। मैं ऐसे किसी पद (पीएम पद) का दावेदार नहीं हूं।’

बिहार के सियासी खेल में कितने पेंच हैं, इसका अंदाजा इसी बात से लगाया जा सकता है कि नीतीश कुमार ने अपने राजनीतिक करियर में कितनी बार सीएम पद की शपथ ली।

8 बार के सीएम नीतीश कुमार ने पहली बार 2000 में बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में शपथ ली थी, लेकिन उनका कार्यकाल सिर्फ एक हफ्ते का ही रह पाया था, क्योंकि वह बहुमत साबित नहीं कर सके। उन्होंने 2005 और 2010 में क्रमशः दूसरी और तीसरी बार शपथ ली, और दोनों बार उन्होंने अपना 5 साल का कार्यकाल पूरा किया। 2014 में, नीतीश कुमार ने सीएम पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया और जीतन राम मांझी को मुख्यमंत्री बनाया, लेकिन फरवरी 2015 में उन्होंने फिर वापसी की और चौथी बार सीएम के रूप में पदभार संभाला।

उसी साल नवंबर में, RJD के नेतृत्व वाले महागठबंधन के विधानसभा चुनाव जीतने के बाद उन्होंने पांचवीं बार मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में शपथ ली। दो साल बाद, जुलाई 2017 में नीतीश कुमार ने महागठबंधन छोड़ दिया और NDA से हाथ मिला लिया, और छठी बार सीएम पद की शपथ ली। 2020 में नीतीश कुमार ने NDA नेता के तौर पर विधानसभा चुनाव लड़ा और सातवीं बार सीएम के रूप में शपथ ली। अब फिर से वह महागठबंधन में शामिल हुए और आज (10 अगस्त) आठवीं बार मुख्यमंत्री पद की शपथ ली।

नीतीश कुमार के एनडीए छोड़ने की आहट पिछले कई दिनों से सुनी जा रही थी। वह अपनी सहयोगी बीजेपी से नाखुश थे। मंगलवार को नीतीश कुमार ने पांच घंटे के भीतर अपना सियासी खेमा बदल लिया। उन्होंने अपने विधायकों की बैठक बुलाई, राजभवन गए, अपना इस्तीफा सौंपा और फिर सीधे RJD नेता तेजस्वी यादव के आवास पर गए, जहां उन्हें महागठबंधन का नेता चुन लिया गया। इसके बाद वह फिर तेजस्वी यादव, कांग्रेस के अजीत शर्मा और HAM पार्टी के जीतनराम मांझी के साथ नई सरकार बनाने का दावा पेश करने के लिए राजभवन गए। राज्यपाल फागू चौहान ने बुधवार को नीतीश कुमार और उपमुख्यमंत्री तेजस्वी यादव को शपथ दिला दी। मंत्रिमंडल का विस्तार बाद में होगा।

हर कोई यह सवाल पूछ रहा है कि नीतीश कुमार बीजेपी से नाखुश क्यों थे? बीजेपी के पास 77 विधायक थे, जबकि नीतीश के जनता दल (यूनाइटेड) के पास 45 एमएलए थे, फिर भी बीजेपी ने उन्हें मुख्यमंत्री का पद दिया? नीतीश कुमार को खुली छूट मिली थी, फिर रिश्तों में खटास क्यों आई?

नवंबर 2020 में चुनाव के नतीजे आने के बाद से ही नीतीश कुमार के मन में बीजेपी को लेकर शंका के बीज पड़ गए थे। नीतीश कुमार को लगता है कि उनकी पार्टी को कम से कम 40 सीटों पर बीजेपी ने हरवाया.। चिराग पासवान पर पर्दे के पीछे बीजेपी का हाथ है। इसके बाद भी नीतीश कुमार, बीजेपी की मदद से मुख्यमंत्री बन गए, लेकिन वह पहले दिन से ही अपना रास्ता तलाशने में लगे रहे। इसके बाद बीजेपी ने विजय कुमार सिन्हा को स्पीकर की कुर्सी पर बैठा दिया। सिन्हा से नीतीश की नहीं बन रही थी।

नीतीश को यह भी लगने लगा था कि अब बीजेपी उनकी पार्टी तोड़ने की कोशिश कर रही है। उनको शक अपने पुराने साथी आरसीपी सिंह पर था। नीतीश ने ही आरसीपी सिंह को जेडीयू का अध्यक्ष बनाया था, और नीतीश के कहने पर ही आरसीपी सिंह को केन्द्र में मंत्री बनाया गया। इसके बाद जब आरसीपी सिंह का राज्यसभा का टर्म खत्म हुआ तो नीतीश ने उन्हें टिकट नहीं दिया, उनका मंत्री पद भी चला गया। आरपीसी सिंह ने बगावती तेवर दिखाए तो नीतीश को लगा कि इसके पीछे बीजेपी है।

नीतीश कुमार के शक को दूर करने के लिए खुद गृह मंत्री अमित शाह पटना गए। शाह ने पार्टी के कार्यकर्ताओं के सामने खुलकर कहा कि अगला चुनाव बीजेपी और जेडीयू मिलकर लड़ेंगे, नीतीश कुमार के नेतृत्व में ही लडेंगे। लेकिन इसके बाद भी नीतीश के मन में शंका थी, और वह दूर नहीं हुई। इसके बाद उन्होंने RJD नेता तेजस्वी यादव से संपर्क किया और राबड़ी देवी और उनके बेटे द्वारा आयोजित एक इफ्तार पार्टी में शामिल हुए। JDU के नेताओं ने भी खुलकर कहा कि नीतीश कुमार का कद छोटा करने की कोशिश की जा रही थी, और इसे पार्टी के कार्यकर्ता कभी बर्दाश्त नहीं करेंगे।

बीजेपी के प्रति नीतीश कुमार की चाल उसी दिन बदल गई थी जिस दिन उन्हें विधानसभा में खड़े होकर स्पीकर विजय कुमार सिन्हा पर खुलेआम नाराजगी जाहिर की थी। एक मामले में जांच को लेकर मुख्यमंत्री और स्पीकर के बीच तीखी नोकझोंक हुई थी।

बीजेपी से नाता तोड़ते हुए नीतीश की पार्टी जेडीयू ने निम्नलिखित कारण बताए: (1) नीतीश कुमार को खुली छूट नहीं दी गई (2) विधानसभा अध्यक्ष के साथ उनका तनाव, (3) जेडीयू के खिलाफ बीजेपी की साजिशें (4) बीजेपी आरसीपी सिंह का इस्तेमाल जेडीयू के खिलाफ कर रही है (5) पार्टी को बांटने के लिए चिराग पासवान मॉडल का इस्तेमाल कर रही है (6) केंद्र में अनुपात के मुताबिक मंत्री पद नहीं है (7) राज्य में बीजेपी के मंत्रियों पर नियंत्रण की कमी है (8) जाति आधारित जनगणना को लेकर केंद्र से मतभेद (9) बीजेपी ने जेडीयू को हमेशा छोटा दिखाने की कोशिश की (10) बीजेपी आलाकमान से सीधा संपर्क न हो पाना।

मंगलवार को महागठबंधन में दोबारा शामिल होने के बाद नीतीश कुमार ने कहा कि उन्हें विधानसभा में 164 विधायकों और एक निर्दलीय का समर्थन हासिल है। उन्होंने कहा, ‘हमारे महागठबंधन में 7 पार्टियां हैं। हम मिलकर के आगे काम करेंगे, सेवा करेंगे।’

RJD नेता तेजस्वी यादव पूरी मजबूती से नीतीश के साथ खड़े थे। तेजस्वी ने कहा कि बीजेपी के एजेंडे को अब बिहार में नहीं चलने देना है। जब रिपोर्ट्स ने पूछा कि वह तो नीतीश को पलटूराम, बेशर्म, ठग, बहरूपिया और न जाने क्या-क्या कहते रहे हैं तो तेजस्वी ने तुरंत जवाब दिया, ‘चाचा से लड़ाई-झगड़ा होता रहा है। हर परिवार में झगड़े-झंझट होते रहते हैं। इसका मतलब यह तो नहीं कि कोई तीसरा पुरखों की विरासत को ले जाए। बीजेपी तो आपस में लड़ा कर अपना रास्ता बनाती है, लेकिन नीतीश कुमार ने बता दिया कि ये सब बिहार में नहीं चलेगा।’

बीजेपी के वरिष्ठ नेता और पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री रविशंकर प्रसाद ने नीतीश कुमार के आरोपों के जवाब दिए। उन्होंने कहा कि नीतीश कुमार कभी भी मुख्यमंत्री नहीं बन पाते क्योंकि उनके नाम का उनकी ही पार्टी में विरोध हो रहा था, लेकिन बीजेपी ने उन्हें सीएम का पद दे दिया। प्रसाद ने पूछा, ‘बिहार विधानसभा चुनाव मोदी के नाम पर लड़ा गया था, और खुद से आधी सीटें होने के बावजूद बीजेपी ने नीतीश कुमार को सीएम बनाया था। यह एहसान फरामोशी नहीं तो और क्या है?’

केंद्रीय ग्रामीण विकास मंत्री गिरिराज सिंह ने कहा कि नीतीश कुमार प्रधानमंत्री बनने का ख्वाब देख रहे थे, लेकिन ‘पीएम पद पर कोई वैकेंसी नहीं है, इसमें बीजेपी की क्या गलती।’ उन्होंने कहा, ‘हकीकत यह है कि नीतीश कुमार मौकापरस्त हैं, और यह आज पूरे देश ने देख लिया।’ सोशल मीडिया पर ऐसे कई मीम्स ट्रेंड कर रहे थे जिनमें पाला बदलने के लिए नीतीश कुमार पर व्यंग्य किया गया था।

नीतीश कुमार की दिक्कत उस दिन शुरू हुई थी जब पिछले विधानसभा चुनाव में बीजेपी उनसे बड़ी पार्टी हो गई। बीजेपी की सीटें जेडीयू के मुकाबले लगभग दोगुनी हो गई थीं। नीतीश को लगा कि बीजेपी ने उनका कद छोटा करने के लिए चिराग पासवान का इस्तेमाल किया। नीतीश कुमार को इस बात की भी तकलीफ थी कि बिहार के मामलों में एक जमाने में वह लालकृष्ण आडवाणी और अरुण जेटली जैसे नेताओं के साथ सीधे बात करते थे, लेकिन अब उनसे बातचीत के लिए बीजेपी ने भूपेन्द्र यादव को नियुक्त कर दिया था। नीतीश चाहते थे उन्हें अगर मोदी नहीं तो कम से कम अमित शाह से सीधे डील करने का मौका मिले, लेकिन यह नहीं हो पाया।

नीतीश थोड़े इगो वाले नेता हैं। ये सब बातें उन्हें परेशान करती थीं। जब आरसीपी सिंह को केन्द्र में मंत्री बनाया गया, हालांकि वह नीतीश कुमार की पंसद से ही मंत्री बने थे, लेकिन नीतीश ने अपनी पार्टी में इंप्रेशन दिया कि आरसीपी को मंत्री बनाने का फैसला अमित शाह का था। इसकी वजह से आरसीपी सिंह की अपनी पार्टी में यह धारणा बनी कि वह तो बीजेपी के आदमी हो गए। नीतीश चाहते थे कि आरसीपी सिंह दिल्ली में उनकी तरफ से अमित शाह और जेपी नड्डा जैसे नेताओं से संपर्क में रहें, लेकिन ये भी नहीं हो पाया।

अंतत: नीतीश कुमार ने आरसीपी सिंह को भी किनारे कर दिया और बाद में पार्टी के बाहर कर दिया, क्योंकि उन्हें लगने लगा था कि आरसीपी सिंह के जरिए बीजेपी उनकी पार्टी को तोड़ देगी, और उनका हाल उद्धव ठाकरे की तरह हो जाएगा। उनके पास न पार्टी रहेगी, न सरकार। इस शक-ओ-शुबह ने नीतीश कुमार की रातों की नींद उड़ा दी, और उनको इतना परेशान कर दिया कि वह तेजस्वी यादव के पास चले गए।

मतलब साफ है बिहार में सरकार सिर्फ नीतीश कुमार के शक के कारण बदली है, वरना उनकी कुर्सी को कोई खतरा नहीं था। अब सवाल यह है कि तेजस्वी ने अपने पास दोगुने विधायक होते हुए भी नीतीश को मुख्यमंत्री की कुर्सी पर क्यों बैठाया? नीतीश को अपना नेता मानकर फिर से उनके साथ सरकार क्यों बनाई?

असल में पटना में जो हुआ उसमें नीतीश और तेजस्वी दोनों का फायदा है। दोनों सत्ता के लिए व्याकुल थे। नीतीश कुमार अपनी आखिरी पारी खेल रहे हैं और तेजस्वी की पारी अभी शुरू ही हुई है। वे मानते हैं बिहार में पलटी मारने से, भ्रष्टाचार के इल्जाम होने से, अपनी बात बदलने से खास फर्क नहीं पड़ता। उनका विश्वास हैं कि बिहार में आज भी चुनाव जातिगत समीकरण के आधार पर जीता जाता है, और इस समय जाति के समीकरण नीतीश, तेजस्वी और उनके साथ आई पार्टियों के पक्ष में है। इसीलिए, बीजेपी को इस बात की चिंता है कि 2024 के चुनाव में अपनी सीटें कैसे कायम रखी जाएं।
