In his election rallies on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi predicted a historic victory for NDA and lowest seat tally for RJD and Congress this time.
Modi lashed out at Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi, and said, “two yuvraj (princes) out on bail are busy making false promises to the people, hurling abuses and describing women fasting during Chhath Puja as drama”. He asked voters to teach these leaders a lesson.
Ailing RJD patriarch Lalu Prasad’s wife and former CM Rabri Devi came out to meet voters in Raghopur, where she canvassed for her son Tejashwi Yadav. Lalu’s other son Tej Pratap Yadav was chased away by RJD supporters.
There were incidents of violence. Jitanram Manjhi’s candidate faced a lethal attack and a Jan Suraaj Party worker was shot dead in Mokama.
Tejashwi Yadav is facing problems while campaigning for his allies. In Gauda Bauram constituency of Darbhanga district, where VIP chief and deputy CM face Mukesh Sahni’s brother Santosh Sahni is contesting against local RJD leader Afzal Khan, Tejashwi had a tough time explaining to voters to support Sahni.
Tejashwi Yadav told voters, there are alliance compulsions, Afzal Khan is a good leader and he will be given full respect after elections are over, but for now, RJD voters should cast their votes for Santosh Sahni.
Tejashwi’s problem is he can’t antagonise Muslim voters by using tough words against Afzal Khan, and at the same time, he can’t earn the displeasure of Mallah community voters by remaining silent. So, he took a middle path.
Already, RJD has expelled 27 rebel candidates and on Wednesday 10 more leaders were expelled from the party. On the other hand, 10 rebel Congress candidates are contesting and they have also been expelled. In at least 12 seats, grand alliance parties are engaged in ‘friendly contests’.
This seems to be the reason why Prime Minister Modi compared the alliance between Congress and RJD with ‘oil and water that can never mix’.
Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi had addressed joint rallies on Wednesday, but on Thursday both the leaders campaigned separately. In his rallies, Tejashwi Yadav’s line is quite different from that of Rahul.
Tejashwi avoids criticizing Adani and Ambani, he never attacks Modi personally, nor does he raises Rahul’s pet issue ‘vote chori’. He also did not defend Rahul’s remarks about Chhath Puja.
Tejashwi is targeting Amit Shah in all his rallies. He is describing Shah as an ‘outsider’. He tells voters, “this is Bihar and a Bihar will never fear an outsider”.
Tejashwi, no doubt, has a big support base and his meetings attract exuberant crowds. This time, Tejashwi has taken the entire burden of Mahagathbandhan on his shoulders and he is seeking votes for the alliance.
On Thursday in Mokama, a Jan Suraj Party leader was shot dead during a skirmish with Anant Singh’s supporters. Tejashwi lashed out saying, “Modi is raising issues (relating to jungle raj) which are 30 years old, but is silent about what happened in Mokama 30 minutes ago.”
The incident that happened in Mokama underlines the fact that the fear of gun still exists in Bihar elections. Use of pistols during polls still happens, but it is less compared to the Nineties.
I have witnessed those days when gangsters used to take contracts to capture polling booths at gunpoint. Everybody knew which gang dominated which area. These gangs and gangsters known as ‘bahubalis’ had carved out their areas of influence based on castes and religion.
The number of gangsters in Bihar politics has declined but their influence still remains. Gangsters no more contest elections, but they field their wives or children as candidates.
The Bihar elections are quite different from other states. Caste equations dominate in each constituency. In Seemanchal region, there is a clearcut divide in the name of religion. Questions are being raised about Nitish Kumar’s health. Issues of jungle raj and corruption cast shadows on Tejashwi Yadav’s political legacy.
In this battle, Prashant Kishor has made his entry with a new line of thoughts, but his party is fledgling. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has emerged as a big factor. Hence, it is difficult to predict what lies ahead.
Based on feedbacks that we have got from our reporters, Nitish-Modi combination appears to have an edge till now.

Much ado about Vande Mataram

Opposition parties like Congress and Samajwadi Party are up in arms over a Maharashtra government order directing all schools to collectively sing the full version of Vande Mataram song from October 31 till November 7, to commemorate the 150th anniversay of this song written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.
Normally, only two stanzas of Vande Mataram are sung at public events, but schools in Maharashtra have been asked to sing the full version.
Samajwadi Party MLA Rais Sheikh demanded withdrawal of the government order. He alleged, the state government is trying implement RSS agenda in schools. Islamic cleric Maulana Aijaz Kashmiri said, Muslims children should not be forced to sing Vande Mataram because, in Islam, prayers can be offered only to Allah the Almighty.
Samajwadi party leader Abu Azmi said, the government order violated the Constitution which prescribes non-interference in freedom of practising religion. He said, it is akin to asking a Hindu to chant ‘Allahu Akbar’.
State minister Prabhat Lodha said, Vande Mataram is a patriotic song and it has nothing to do with religion.
It is true Vande Mataram song is a prayer offered to the motherland. Our scriptures say, ‘Janani Janmabhoomishcha Swargadapi Gariyasi’ (Mother and motherland are greater than heaven). I don’t think anybody should have any problem signing this song.
Some people are deliberately trying to make this a Hindu-Muslim issue. At the same time, my view is, nobody should be forced to sing. If anybody refuses to sing, there is no need to lodge a case against that person.

बिहार की चुनाव रैलियों में गुरुवार को प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने भविष्यवाणी की. कहा, इस बार बिहार में NDA की ऐतिहासिक जीत होगी और जंगलराज वालों की ऐतिहासिक हार होगी, RJD और कांग्रेस को अब तक की सबसे कम सीटें मिलेंगी.
मोदी ने तेजस्वी यादव और राहुल गांधी पर करारे वार किये. मोदी ने कहा कि जमानत पर छूटे दो युवराज बिहार के लोगों से झूठे वादे करने में जुटे हैं, उन्हें गालियां दे रहे हैं, छठ मैया का कठोर व्रत करने वाली महिलाओं को ड्रामेबाज बता रहे हैं, ऐसे लोगों को बिहार के लोग सबक सिखाएंगे.
मोदी ने कहा कि कट्टा, कटुता, क्रूरता, कुशासन और करप्शन वाली RJD के नेता जब सुशासन की बात करते हैं तो हंसी आती है, उनके प्रचार में जो गाने चल रहे हैं, उन गानों को सुनकर ही RJD के चरित्र का अंदाजा हो जाता है.
गुरुवार को राबड़ी देवी भी प्रचार के लिए निकलीं, राघोपुर में अपने बेटे तेजस्वी के लिए वोट मांगे, लेकिन लालू के दूसरे बेटे तेजप्रताप को RJD के कार्यकर्ताओं ने दौड़ाया, तेजप्रताप के सामने तेजस्वी जिंदाबाद के नारे लगाए.
जीतनराम मांझी की पार्टी के उम्मीदवार पर कातिलाना हमला हुआ, मोकामा में चुनाव के दौरान पहली हत्या हो गई, जनसुराज के समर्थक को गोली मार दी गई.
मोदी ने महागठबंधन की तुलना तेल और पानी से क्यों की, इसका एक उदाहरण गुरुवार को देखने को मिला. मुकेश सहनी तेजस्वी को दरभंगा की गौड़ा बौराम सीट पर प्रचार के लिए ले गए थे, वहां मुकेश सहनी के भाई संतोष सहनी महागठबंधन के उम्मीदवार हैं और RJD के टिकट पर अफजल खान भी मैदान में है.
तेजस्वी की मुश्किल ये है कि अफजल खान के बारे में सख्त लफ्ज़ों का इस्तेमाल करके मुस्लिम वोटर्स को नाराज नहीं कर सकते और खामोश रहकर मल्लाह वोटर्स की नाराज़गी मोल नहीं ले सकते. इसलिए तेजस्वी ने बीच का रास्ता निकाला.
तेजस्वी ने गठबंधन की मजबूरियों का हवाला दिया, कहा, अफजल खान अच्छे नेता हैं, चुनाव के बाद उनके सम्मान का पूरा ख्याल रखा जाएगा, लेकिन इस बार RJD के समर्थक संतोष सहनी को वोट दें.
इस तरह का झगड़ा एक सीट पर नहीं हैं. RJD के 27 नेता बागी उम्मीदवार के तौर पर मैदान में हैं, जिन्हें तेजस्वी पार्टी से निकाल चुके हैं. बुधवार को RJD ने बगावत करने वाले दस नेताओं को पार्टी से बाहर किया.
इसी तरह दस सीटों पर कांग्रेस के बागी उम्मीदवार मैदान में हैं. उन्हें भी पार्टी से निकाला गया है. 12 सीटें ऐसी हैं, जहां महागठबंधन में शामिल पार्टियों के उम्मीदवारों के बीच दोस्ताना मुकाबला हो रहा है. तेजस्वी और राहुल किस किस को समझाएंगे.
बुधवार को राहुल ने तेजस्वी के साथ साझा रैलियां की थी लेकिन गुरुवार को दोनों अलग अलग प्रचार के लिए निकले. तेजस्वी ने दस छोटी सभाएं की.
तेजस्वी की लाइन भी राहुल से अलग है. वह न अडानी-अंबानी की बात करते हैं, न मोदी पर व्यक्तिगत वार करते हैं, न वोट चोरी का मुद्दा उठाते हैं, न उन्होंने छठ पर बयान को लेकर राहुल का बचाव किया.
तेजस्वी के निशाने पर अमित शाह हैं. चूंकि अमित शाह ने दावा किया कि इस बार RJD कांग्रेस का डब्बा गोल हो जाएगा तो जवाब में तेजस्वी ने कहा अमित शाह से वो डरने वाले नहीं हैं, 14 तारीख को पता लग जाएगा कि बिहार से किसकी विदाई होगी. तेजस्वी ने कहा कि ये बिहार है और कोई बिहारी किसी बाहरी से नहीं डरता.
इसमें कोई शक नहीं कि तेजस्वी का एक बड़ा support base है, उनकी सभाओं में जो भीड़ आती है उनमें उत्साह दिखाई देता है. तेजस्वी ने भी इस बार महागठबंधन का सारा भार अपने कंधों पर लिया हुआ है. वह अपने लिए वोट मांगते हैं.
तेजस्वी ने मोकामा में जन सुराज पार्टी के समर्थक की हत्या का जिक्र किया. कहा, मोदी तीस साल पुरानी बातों का जिक्र कर रहे हैं, लेकिन तीस मिनट पहले मोकामा जो हुआ, वो मोदी को दिखाई नहीं देता.
मोकामा की घटना इस बात का सबूत है कि बिहार के चुनाव में आज भी दोनाली बंदूक का असर बाकी है. आज भी कट्टा चलाने वाले चुनाव में प्रासंगिक हैं, हालांकि ये पहले के मुकाबले कम हुआ है.
मैंने वो जमाना देखा है जब बाहुबली ठेका लेकर पार्टियों के लिए बूथ लूटते थे. सबको पता होता था कि किस इलाके में किस गैंग का दबदबा है.ये गैंग और बाहुबली जाति के आधार पर बंटे रहते थे.बिहार के चुनाव में बाहुबलियों का असर आज भी दिखाई देता है, बस उनकी तादाद कम हुई है और इस बार नई बात ये है कि बाहुबली खुद चुनाव लड़ने की बजाय अपने बेटे-बेटियों,पत्नी या रिश्तेदार को चुनाव लड़वाने में लगे हैं.
बिहार का चुनाव बाकी राज्यों से काफी अलग है. यहां आज भी एक-एक विधानसभा क्षेत्र में जातियों का बोलबाला है. सीमांचल इलाकों में धर्म के नाम पर clearcut divide है. नीतीश कुमार के स्वास्थ्य को लेकर सवाल उठाए गए हैं और तेजस्वी की विरासत पर जंगल राज और भ्रष्टाचार के गंभीर आरोप हैं.
प्रशांत किशोर एक नई सोच लेकर आए हैं,लेकिन उनकी पार्टी अभी नयी है. औवैसी भी इस चुनाव में एक बड़ा फैक्टर बन गए हैं. इसीलिए इस चुनाव के बारे में अंदाजा लगाना मुश्किल है लेकिन रिपोर्टर्स के माध्यम से अब तक जो फीडबैक मिला है इसके मुताबिक NDA को edge है, मोदी-नीतीश के combination का पलड़ा भारी है.

वंदे मातरम् गाने पर ऐतराज़ क्यों ?

महाराष्ट्र सरकार के एक फैसले को लेकर जम कर सियासत हुई. 31 अक्टूबर को वंदे मातरम की रचना के डेढ़ सौ साल पूरे हो गये, इसलिए देवेन्द्र फणनवीस की सरकार ने 31 अक्टूबर से 7 नवंबर तक महाराष्ट्र के सारे स्कूलों में रोज़ वंदे मातरम् के सामूहिक गायन का आदेश दिया है.
आमतौर पर वंदे मातरम् के सिर्फ दो पद गाए जाते हैं लेकिन महाराष्ट्र के स्कूलों में बच्चे पूरा राष्ट्रगीत गाएंगे.
जैसे ही सरकार का ये आदेश जारी हुआ तो विरोध शुरू हो गया. समाजवादी पार्टी और कांग्रेस के नेताओं के अलावा मौलानाओं ने वंदे मातरम् को इस्लाम के खिलाफ बताया.
समाजवादी पार्टी के विधायक रईस शेख ने आदेश को रद्द करने की मांग की, आरोप लगाया कि सरकार RSS का एजेंडा स्कूलों में लागू करने की कोशिश कर रही है.
मौलाना ऐजाज़ कश्मीरी ने कहा कि इस्लाम में अल्लाह के अलावा किसी की इबादत की इजाज़त नहीं है, इसलिए मुस्लिम बच्चों को वंदे मातरम् गाने के लिए मजबूर न किया जाए.
समाजवादी पार्टी के नेता अबु आजमी ने कहा कि सरकार का आदेश मज़हब में दखलंदाज़ी है, यह संविधान विरोधी है, सरकार का आदेश वैसा ही है जैसे किसी हिन्दू से अल्लाह हू अकबर का नारा लगाने को कहा जाए.
राज्य के मंत्री मंगल प्रभात लोढ़ा ने कहा कि वंदे मातरम देशभक्ति का गीत है, इसका धर्म से कोई लेना देना नहीं है, जो लोग इस आदेश को मज़हबी रंग देने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं, उनके खिलाफ देशद्रोह का केस दर्ज होना चाहिए.
ये सही है कि वंदे मातरम् राष्ट्र की वंदना है, मातृभूमि का सम्मान है. हमारे यहां तो कहा गया है, ‘जननी जन्मभूमिश्च स्वर्गादपि गरीयसी’. मां और मातृभूमि को स्वर्ग से भी बेहतर बताया गया है, इसीलिए किसी को इनका सम्मान करने में, गीत गाने में कोई समस्या नहीं होनी चाहिए.
कुछ लोगों ने इसे ख्वामख्वाह हिंदू और मुसलमान का मसला बना दिया है. दूसरी तरफ इसमें जबरदस्ती करने की भी कोई जरूरत नहीं. अगर कोई न गाए तो उसके खिलाफ केस करने की भी कोई ज़रूरत नहीं.

राष्ट्रीय जनता दल के नेता तेजस्वी यादव गृह मंत्री अमित शाह के एक बयान का हवाला देकर बार-बार ये दावा कर रहे थे कि बीजेपी नीतीश कुमार के चेहरे का इस्तेमाल तो कर रही है लेकिन उन्हें चुनाव के बाद मुख्यमंत्री नहीं बनाएगी.
बुधवार को अमित शाह ने दरभंगा के अलीनगर और बेगूसराय में हुई चुनाव सभाओं में साफ ऐलान कर दिया कि बिहार में नीतीश कुमार ही मुख्यमंत्री हैं और आगे भी वही मुख्यमंत्री रहेंगे.
अमित शाह ने ये भी कह दिया कि बिहार में सीएम और देश में पीएम की कोई वैकेंसी नहीं है। शाह ने कहा, “ सोनिया जी राहुल को प्रधानमंत्री बनाना चाहते हैं। लालू जी अपने बेटे को मुख्यमंत्री बनाना चाहते हैं। मैं दोनों को बताना चाहता हूं कि बिहार में न सीएम पद खाली है और न ही दिल्ली में पीएम पद खाली है। बिहार में विकास पुरुष नीतीश कुमार बैठे हैं और दिल्ली में पीएम मोदी.”
अमित शाह ने इसके साथ ही तेजस्वी यादव की पूरी रणनीति को ध्वस्त कर दिया. तेजस्वी ये नैरेटिव बना रहे थे कि नीतीश कुमार कठपुतली हैं, बीजेपी उनका इस्तेमाल कर रही है, उन्हें फिर से CM नहीं बनाएगी.
अमित शाह ने इस नैरेटिव को खत्म कर दिया. तेजस्वी यादव की रणनीति ये भी है कि वो अपने आप को लालू के राज में हुए अपहरण, हत्या और बाहुबलियों के इस्तेमाल से अलग करना चाहते हैं. अमित शाह ने लालू यादव के सारे कारनामे गिना दिए.
तेजस्वी यादव ये भी कोशिश कर रहे हैं कि वो अपने आप को रेलवे में नौकरी के बदले जमीन और चारा घोटाले जैसी बातों से अलग रखें लेकिन अमित शाह ने एक-एक कर सारे घोटाले भी गिनवा दिए.

योगी और ओसामा

उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ की बुधवार को बिहार में तीन रैलियां हुईं. पहली रैली सीवान में थी, योगी के पहुंचने से पहले ही बीजेपी के कई समर्थक बुलडोजर लेकर वहां पहुंच गए थे.
चूंकि बाबा का बुलडोजर अब पूरे देश में मशहूर हो गया है, इसलिए सीवान में जिस जगह योगी की रैली होनी थी, वहां बुलडोजर खड़े किए गए. इससे संदेश दिया गया कि इस बार NDA की सरकार बनेगी तो यूपी की तरह बिहार में भी अपराधियों की संपत्तियों पर बुलडोजर चलेगा.
सीवान की रघुनाथपुर विधानसभा सीट के लिए RJD ने बाहुबली शहाबुद्दीन के बेटे ओसामा शहाब को टिकट दिया है. योगी ने कहा कि “राजद ने यहां से जो प्रत्याशी दिया है, वह अपनी खानदानी आपराधिक पृष्ठभूमि के लिए पूरे देश में कुख्यात रहा है, नाम भी देखिए। जैसे नाम, वैसा काम”.
योगी ने कहा कि जो लोग प्रभु राम को काल्पनिक बताते थे, जिन्होने रामरथ को रोकने का पाक किया था, जिन्होने रामभक्तों पर गोली चली थी, जो पूछते थे राम मंदिर कब बनेगा, वे आज मुंह छुपाते घूम रहे हैं.
योगी ने कहा कि बिहार के सनातनी लोग ऐसे सनातन विरोधियों का कभी समर्थन नहीं करेंगे.
योगी ने बिहार के लोगों को जंगलराज की याद दिलाई और RJD के चुनाव निशान लालटेन को अपराध, भ्रष्टाचार और जंगलराज से जोड़ा. योगी ने कहा कि RJD और कांग्रेस दोनों भ्रष्टाचार से दूर नहीं रह सकते, एक लालटेन की रोशनी धीमी करके चारा खाता है, दूसरा हाथ की सफाई दिखाने में माहिर है, ये लोग सत्ता में आए, तो यही करेंगे. इसलिए इस ‘ठग’बंधन को सत्ता से दूर रखने में ही बिहार की भलाई है.
देश में जहां भी चुनाव होते हैं, वहां बीजेपी के प्रचार में नरेंद्र मोदी के बाद सबसे ज्यादा मांग योगी आदित्यनाथ की होती है. बिहार में अब तक योगी की 6 रैलियां हो चुकी हैं.
नोट करने वाली बात है कि योगी को उन इलाकों में भेजा जा रहा है, जहां NDA कमजोर है और महागठबंधन मजबूत है. सीवान की जिस रघुनाथपुर सीट पर योगी की जनसभा हुई, वो सीट RJD का गढ़ है. रघुनाथपुर में बरसों तक शहाबुद्दीन का सिक्का चलता था.
इस इलाके के जातीय और मजहबी समीकरण महागठबंधन के पक्ष में हैं. यहां 23 प्रतिशत मुसलमान, 10 प्रतिशत यादव और करीब साढ़े ग्यारह प्रतिशत दलित वोटर हैं. यादव और मुस्लिम वोटरों की संख्या, MY समीकरण RJD के पक्ष में जाता है. इसलिए 2010 से ये सीट लगातार RJD के कब्जे में हैं. लेकिन इस बार बीजेपी ने इस सीट पर पूरी ताकत लगाई है. योगी को वहां भेजा है और इसका असर आज दिखाई दिया.

क्या ओवैसी मुस्लिम वोटरों को RJD से छीन पाएंगे?

AIMIM के चीफ असदुद्दीन ओवैसी इस वक्त उस सीमांचल इलाके पर फोकस कर रहे हैं, जहां तेजस्वी यादव को सबसे ज्यादा उम्मीद है. सीमांचल की ज्यादातर सीटों पर मुस्लिम वोटर डिसाइडिंग फैक्टर है.
तेजस्वी ने वादा किया है कि अगर उनकी सरकार बनी तो बिहार में नया वक्फ कानून लागू नहीं होने देंगे. ओवैसी ने कहा कि तेजस्वी यादव को संविधान की समझ नहीं है, उन्हें पता ही नहीं है कि संसद से पास कानून को कोई राज्य सरकार रद्दी की टोकरी में नहीं फेंक सकती. ओवैसी ने कहा कि तेजस्वी या तो खुद नासमझ हैं या फिर वो मुसलमानों को गुमराह कर रहे हैं.
असदुद्दीन ओवैसी सीमांचल में बड़े प्लेयर हैं, ये उन्होंने पिछले चुनाव में ही साबित कर दिया था. इस बार ओवैसी के उम्मीदवार जिन 28 सीटों पर चुनाव लड़ रहे हैं, उनमें से 16 सीटों पर उनका मुकाबला RJD और कांग्रेस के मुस्लिम उम्मीदवारों से है.
ओवैसी ने जिन 28 सीटों पर उम्मीदवार उतारे हैं, उनमें से 18 उम्मीदवार RJD के खिलाफ हैं और इनमें से भी 9 RJD के मुस्लिम उम्मीदवारों के सामने खड़े हैं. ओवैसी ने 10 सीटों पर कांग्रेस के खिलाफ उम्मीदवार खड़े किए हैं, इनमें से भी कांग्रेस के 7 मुस्लिम उम्मीदवार हैं जिनके सामने ओवैसी दीवार बनकर खड़े हैं.
ओवैसी मुसलमानों से ये कह रहे हैं कि ‘यादव मलाई खाएगा और अब्दुल दरी बिछाएगा, ये अब नहीं चलेगा’.

Home Minister Amit Shah has cleared the air by saying that Nitish Kumar will continue to remain as chief minister if NDA wins the Bihar assembly elections.
Addressing election rallies in Darbhanga and Begusarai on Wednesday, Amit Shah said, “Sonia Ji wants to make her son Rahul the Prime Minister and Lalu Ji wants to make his son Tejashwi the chief minister. I want to tell both of them that there is no vacancy for either the post of CM or PM. Vikas Purush Nitish Kumar is sitting in Bihar and PM Modi in Delhi.”
Amit Shah’s clarification comes in the wake of repeated assertions by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav that the NDA has not yet declared Nitish Kumar its CM face and the BJP will not make him the CM if the NDA comes to power.
By asserting that Nitish Kumar will continue to be the CM after elections, Amit Shah has punctured the narrative sought to be promoted by Tejashwi Yadav among voters in Bihar. Tejashwi Yadav had said, Nitish Kumar is a ‘puppet’ (putla), BJP is only using his face to win elections, but will ditch him after the results are out. Tejashwi had picked up a remark by Amit Shah that NDA would elect its CM after the elections. Now that narrative stands nullified.
Tejashwi Yadav is also trying to dissociate himself from the ‘jungle raj’ during Lalu Prasad Yadav’s rule, when kidnappings, murders and atrocities by gangsters were rampant. Amit Shah is listing out all those crimes at his election rallies. Tejashwi Yadav is also trying to keep himself clear from cases relating to fodder scam and land-for-job scam. Amit Shah is explaining both these scams to the voters.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath addressed three election rallies in Bihar on Wednesday. In Siwan, the stronghold of mafia don Mohammed Shahabuddin, where RJD has fielded his son Osama Shahab as candidate, Yogi said, “RJD has given ticket to a ‘khandani apradhi’ (dynastic criminal). Jaisa Naam Waisa Kaam (As is the name, so will be his deed)”, obliquely referring to Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden.
At his election rally, BJP supporters came riding bulldozers to convey the message that properties of gangsters will not be spared in Bihar anymore.
Yogi lashed out at RJD and Congress saying, “they were the ones who stopped Ram Rath in Bihar, they fired on Ram devotees, they even questioned the existence of Lord Ram, but now after the temple has been built in Ayodhya, they are hiding their faces. Sanatanis will never forgive them”.
Yogi also said, both RJD and Congress are corrupt. “One stole fodder by dimming the light of lantern (RJD symbol), and the other is adept in sleight of hand (Congress symbol).”
Yogi Adityanath is much in demand whenever election campaigns take place. He has already addressed six election rallies in Bihar. The point to note is, Yogi is sent to those areas where NDA has a weak base and Mahagathbandhan is strong.
The Raghunathpur seat in Siwan, from where Shahabuddin’s son Osama is contesting, is considered a stronghold of RJD. For decades, Shahabuddin ruled it as his fief. The caste and religious equation favours Mahgathbandhan.
Muslims constitute 23 per cent, Yadavs 10 pc and Dalits 11.5 per cent in Raghunathpur. The MY (Muslim-Yadav) equation favours RJD, which has been winning this seat since 2010. But this time, BJP is trying to make a big dent. Yogi’s campaign in this constituency is, therefore, quite significant.

Can Owaisi wean Muslims away from RJD?

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi is nowadays focussing on Seemanchal region, where Tejashwi Yadav expects to get better results this time. Muslims voters will be the deciding factor in most of the seats of Seemanchal.
In order to attract Muslim voters, Tejashwi Yadav has promised to “throw the new Waqf law into the dustbin”, if his grand alliance comes to power.
Owaisi said, “Tejashwi clearly does not know law. He does not know that a state government cannot throw a law enacted by Parliament into the dustbin. Either Tejashwi is ignorant or he is misguiding Muslims”.
Owaisi is a big player in Seemanchal region. He proved it in the last assembly elections. This time, his party has fielded 28 candidates, and in 16 constituencies, his party is giving a fight to RJD and Congress.
At his rallies, Owaisi is telling Muslim voters, “Yadav malai khayega aur Abdul dari bichhayega, yeh ab nahin chalega” (The days are gone, when Yadavs used to corner benefits and Muslims used to spread carpets for leaders).

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav released the Mahagathbandhan’s manifesto promising government job to one member from each family in Bihar. The manifesto promises to enact rules to give govt job within 20 days of assuming power and issue appointment letters within 20 months.
The manifesto also promises to give all ‘Jeevika Didis’ permanent government job and enhance their salary to Rs 30,000, make all contractual staff permanent and revert to the Old Pension Scheme for government employees, Rs 2,500 per month to women under Mai Behan Yojana, 200 units of free electricity every month to each family and increasing reservation quota.
Tejashwi Yadav described Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as a ‘putla’(puppet) and ‘mukhota’ (mask) and predicted that the BJP would sideline him if NDA comes to power. Nitish Kumar swiftly issued a long reply and described the manifesto as a ‘bundle of lies’. He outlined the salient achievements of his government.
Two major points emerged when Tejashwi Yadav released the alliance manifesto. One, it was made quite clear that Tejashwi is the Supreme Leader of the Grand Alliance of opposition parties in Bihar. Neither the ailing patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav nor Congress leader Rahul Gandhi were present at the press conference.
Two, it is clear that Tejashwi’s direct fight is against Nitish Kumar in this election, but Tejashwi seemed to fighting shy of engaging in a duel. He described Nitish as a ‘putla’ (puppet), run by bureaucrats and being used by BJP, but the speed with which Nitish Kumar replied put paid to his narrative.
Tejashwi had been saying for the last several months that Nitish Kumar is ailing, but on the ground, Nitish Kumar appears to be quite active. He is addressing at least four election rallies daily. Will the common voter of Bihar accept Tejashwi describing Nitish Kumar as a puppet?

Bihar’s Muslim voters : Whom will they support?

Tejashwi is facing another big challenge this time. He wants all Muslim voters to vote for his alliance by showing the BJP bogey. But AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has muddied his equations.
On Tuesday, repots came about Congress MP Tariq Anwar and CPI-ML MLA Mahboob Alam facing ire of local Muslim voters in Balrampur seat of Katihar. The voters were complaining that not a single new road has been built despite Muslims voting for them for the last three decades. Tariq Anwar and Mahboob Alam tried to explain that they are not in power for last two decades. The voters hit back saying what’s the use of wasting votes if they cannot deliver. Both the leaders had to beat a hasty retreat.
In Bajpatti constituency of Sitamarhi, sitting RJD MLA Mukesh Kumar Yadav faced the ire of Muslim voters, who shouted slogans. Yadav’s aides tried to cajole voters but failed and the MLA had to leave.
Prashant Kishor is keeping a keen eye on Muslim voters. He is telling them not to fall into the trap of grand alliance because of the BJP bogey and keep the future of their children in mind. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi is addressing three rallies daily. He is focusing on areas dominated by Muslims.
Muslim constitute 18 per cent of Bihar’s electorate. These voters decide the results in at least 70 seats. Four districts of Seemanchal region, Kishanganj (68 pc), Katihar (44 pc), Araria (43 pc) and Purnea (38 pc) are dominated by Muslims (percentage given in brackets).
Analysts say, in the last assembly elections, nearly 76 pc Muslims voted for RJD-led alliance, but AIMIM-led Grand Secular Front garnered 11 pc votes. When Nitish Kumar fights elections with BJP as ally, his party gets 5 to 6 pc Muslim votes.
This time, Mahagathbandhan has given tickets to 30 Muslim candidates, out of which 18 belong to RJD and 10 to Congress. In NDA alliance, JDU has fielded four and Chirag Pawan’s LJP has fielded one Muslim candidate.
Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party has fielded the highest number of 32 Muslim candidates this time. Tejashwi Yadav’s fear is that if Owaisi’s AIMIM and PK’s Jan Suraaj candidates cut into Muslim votes, the grand alliance’s dream of coming to power may be smashed. This is the reason why big promises have been made for Muslims in the manifesto this time. A clear promise has been made not to implement the amended Waqf law in Bihar. But people know this promise cannot be fulfilled.

राष्ट्रीय जनता दल के नेता तेजस्वी यादव ने महागठबंधन का घोषणापत्र जारी किया. ये भी ऐलान हो गया कि राहुल गांधी और अखिलेश यादव महागठबंधन के उम्मीदवारों के लिए वोट मांगने बिहार जाएंगे.
महागठबंधन के घोषणापत्र को तेजस्वी प्रण का नाम दिया गया है. इसे जारी करते समय तेजस्वी यादव का डर भी सामने आया. तेजस्वी ने वोटिंग से पहले ही बेइमानी की साजिश का इल्जाम लगा दिया, अधिकारियों को गड़बड़ न करने की चेतावनी दी.
घोषणापत्र में सबसे बड़ा दावा ये है कि अगर महागठबंधन की सरकार बनी तो बीस दिन के भीतर सभी परिवारों के एक व्यक्ति को सरकारी नौकरी देने का कानून बनेगा और बीस महीने के भीतर हर परिवार के एक सदस्य को सरकारी नौकरी दे दी जाएगी.
दूसरा बड़ा दावा महिलाओं के लिए है, जीविका दीदी को सरकारी कर्मचारी का दर्जा मिलेगा, ब्याजमुक्त लोन मिलेगा, माई बहन योजना के तहत हर महिला को ढाई हजार रूपए हर महीने मिलेंगे, संविदा कर्मियों की नौकरी को पक्का किया जाएगा, बुजुर्गों विधवाओं की पेंशन हर साल बढ़ेगी, दिव्यांगों को हर महीने तीन हजार रूपए मिलेंगे, हर परिवार को हर महीने 200 यूनिट मुफ्त बिजली मिलेगी, आरक्षण की सीमा बढ़ाई जाएगी, वक्फ कानून को बिहार में लागू नहीं होने दिया जाएगा.
तेजस्वी ने कहा कि बीजेपी चुनाव में नीतीश कुमार के चेहरे का इस्तेमाल कर रही है, चुनाव के बाद नीतीश को भी किनारे कर दिया जाएगा. तेजस्वी ने नीतीश कुमार को कठपुतली और मुखौटा कहा तो नीतीश कुमार की तरफ से भी जवाब आया और बहुत लंबा जवाब आया.
नीतीश कुमार ने महागठबंधन के घोषणापत्र को झूठ का पुलिंदा बताया.
जब तेजस्वी ने घोषणापत्र जारी किया तो कई बातें खुलकर सामने आईं. एक तो ये कि महागठबंधन की तरफ से तेजस्वी यादव Supreme Leader के रूप में सामने आए. इस बार मंच पर उनके साथ न लालू बैठे थे, न राहुल की परछाई थी. उन्होंने अकेले ही मोर्चा संभाला.
दूसरी बात, तेजस्वी का मुकाबला नीतीश कुमार से है. पर तेजस्वी नीतीश से सीधी लड़ाई लड़ने से बचते दिखाई दिए. उन्होंने नीतीश कुमार को पुतला कहा. ये कहा कि उन्हें अफसर चलाते हैं, बीजेपी नीतीश कुमार का इस्तेमाल कर रही है, लेकिन नीतीश कुमार ने जितनी फुर्ती से तेजस्वी की बातों का जवाब दिया, उसने तेजस्वी के narrative पर पानी फेर दिया.
तेजस्वी कई दिन से कह रहे हैं कि नीतीश कुमार बीमार हैं, लेकिन नीतीश कुमार चुनाव में पूरी तरह सक्रिय हैं. एक एक दिन में 4-4 रैलियां कर रहे हैं. उनको पुतला कहना लोगों के गले कैसे उतरेगा ?

बिहार में मुस्लिम वोटर किधर जाएँगे?

तेजस्वी के सामने एक और चुनौती है. मुस्लिम वोटर को एकमुश्त अपने साथ बनाए रखना. इसीलिए वो बार बार बीजेपी के बढ़ते control का डर दिखाते हैं. अगर ओवैसी और PK (प्रशान्त किशोर) ने मुस्लिम वोटों में सेंध लगाई तो तेजस्वी के लिए बड़ी मुश्किल होगी.
इसीलिए तेजस्वी यादव ने आज ये वादा किया कि अगर उनकी सरकार बनी तो मुसलमानों को उनका वाजिब हक मिलेगा लेकिन आज ही बिहार से दो ऐसी तस्वीरें आईं, जो तेजस्वी की टेंशन बढ़ाएंगी.
कटिहार में महागठबंधन के उम्मीदवारों को मुस्लिम समाज के वोटर्स ने दौड़ा दिया. बलरामपुर सीट पर CPI-ML के महबूब आलम चुनाव मैदान में हैं. पिछले चुनाव में महबूब आलम ही जीते थे लेकिन आज कटिहार से कांग्रेस सांसद तारिक अनवर महबूब आलम के साथ प्रचार करने पहुंचे तो इलाके के लोगों ने उनके खिलाफ जमकर नारेबाज़ी शुरू कर दी.
लोगों ने महागठबंधन के नेताओं से कहा कि लोग उन्हें तीस साल से वोट दे रहे हैं, फिर भी इलाके में एक सड़क तक नहीं बनी, तो अब उन्हें वोट क्यों दें? महबूब आलम और तारिक अनवर ने लोगों को समझाने की कोशिश की, कहा बीस साल से बिहार में NDA की सरकार है, तो वो क्या कर सकते हैं. इस पर लोगों ने कहा कि जब वो कुछ कर ही नहीं सकते तो उन्हें वोट देना भी बेकार है.
जनता ने जो सवाल किए उनका जवाब तारिक अनवर और महबूब आलम के पास नहीं था इसलिए दोनों नेता चुपचाप वहां से निकल गए.
इसी तरह का नजारा सीतामढ़ी जिले की बाजपट्टी सीट में दिखा. यहां के RJD विधायक मुकेश कुमार यादव को लोगों की गालियां सुननी पड़ी. स्थानीय मुसलमानों ने मुकेश यादव के खिलाफ नारेबाजी शुरू कर दी. विधायक जी गाड़ी पर ही बैठे रहे. उनके सहयोगी नाराज़ जनता को मनाने आए लेकिन उन्हें भी भारी विरोध का सामना करना पड़ा. आखिरकार विधायक मुकेश कुमार यादव ने वहां से निकलने में ही अपनी भलाई समझी.
प्रशान्त किशोर की नजर भी मुस्लिम वोटर्स पर है. प्रशान्त किशोर अपने कैंपेन में मुसलमानों को औलाद का वास्ता देकर समझा रहे हैं कि इस बार बीजेपी से डर कर महागठबंधन के चक्कर में न फंसे, अपने बच्चों के भविष्य को ध्यान में रखकर फैसला करें.
AIMIM चीफ असदुद्दीन ने मंगलवार को तीन रैलियों को संबोधित किया. उनका फोकस उन्हीं इलाकों में है, जहां पिछले चुनाव में उनकी पार्टी के उम्मीदवार जीते थे. चूंकि AIMIM के पांच में चार विधायक बाद में RJD मे शामिल हो गये थे, ज्वाइन कर ली थी, इसलिए ओवैसी के निशाने पर अब तेजस्वी यादव और RJD हैं.
ओवैसी अपनी हर सभा में कह रहे हैं कि RJD और कांग्रेस मुसलमानों का वोट लेकर उन्हें भूल जाती है, इसलिए अब मुसलमानों को अपना हक खुद लेना होगा.
बिहार में करीब 18 प्रतिशत मुस्लिम वोटर हैं. मुस्लिम voters का असर करीब 70 सीटों पर निर्णायक होता है. सीमांचल के 4 जिले तो ऐसे हैं जहां मुस्लिम मतदाता बहुमत में हैं. किशनगंज में 68 प्रतिशत, कटिहार में 44%, अररिया में 43% और पूर्णिया में 38%.
इन चार जिलों में कुल मिलाकर 24 विधानसभा सीटें हैं. चुनाव के नतीजों का विश्लेषण करने वाले बताते हैं कि करीब 76 प्रतिशत मुसलमानों ने पिछले विधानसभा चुनाव में RJD वाले गठबंधन को वोट दिया था लेकिन AIMIM वाले Grand Secular Front को 11% वोट मिले थे.
नीतीश कुमार जब बीजेपी के साथ लड़ते हैं तो उन्हें 5% से 6% मुस्लिम वोट मिलते हैं. इस साल तेजस्वी के महागठबंधन ने 30 मुस्लिम उम्मीदवारों को टिकट दिए हैं, जिनमें से 18 RJD से हैं और 10 कांग्रेस से. NDA में JDU ने 4 मुस्लिम उम्मीदवारों को उतारा है और चिराग पासवान ने एक को. इस मामले में प्रशांत किशोर एक बंद मुट्ठी हैं. उन्होंने सबसे ज्यादा 32 मुस्लिम उम्मीदवारों को मैदान में उतारा है.
तेजस्वी का डर सिर्फ यही है कि अगर पिछली बार की तरह ओवैसी की पार्टी को वोट मिले और प्रशांत किशोर को मुस्लिम वोट मिले तो फिर महागठबंधन का डब्बा गोल हो जाएगा. इसीलिए अपने घोषणापत्र में उन्होंने मुसलमानों से बड़े बड़े वादे किए और ये भी कह दिया कि अगर उनकी सरकार बनी तो बिहार में वक्फ कानून को लागू नहीं होने देंगे. लेकिन इस बात को सब समझते हैं कि ये कर पाना संभव नहीं होगा.

चुनाव आयोग ने ऐलान कर दिया कि बिहार के बाद पूरे देश में वोटर लिस्ट का स्पेशल इंटैसिव रिवीजन होगा. इसकी शुरूआत 12 राज्यों और केंद्रशासित क्षेत्रों से होगी. इसके बाद बाकी राज्यों में ये प्रक्रिया होगी.
मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार ने कहा कि 9 राज्यों और 3 केंद्रशासित क्षेत्रों की मतदाता सूचियां सोमवार रात 12 बजे फ्रीज़ कर दी जाएगी. इसके बाद गुजरात, पश्चिम बंगाल, उत्तर प्रदेश, मध्य प्रदेश, राजस्थान, तमिलनाडु, केरल, छत्तीसगढ़, गोवा, लक्षद्वीप, पुडुच्चेरी और अंडमान-निकोबार में मतदाताओं का वैरीफिकेशन किया जाएगा. 7 फरवरी को अंतिम सूची प्रकाशित कर दी जाएगी. जिन मतादाताओं के नाम या उनके माता-पिता के नाम 2002 की वोटर लिस्ट में है, उन्हें कोई दस्तावेज देने की ज़रूरत नहीं होगी.
जिन राज्यों में SIR (special intensive revision) का ऐलान किया गया, वहां अगले साल से लेकर 2028 तक विधानसभा चुनाव होने हैं, लेकिन खास बात ये है कि इसमें असम का नाम नहीं है, जबकि वहां अगले साल विधानसभा चुनाव होने हैं.
ज्ञानेश कुमार ने कहा कि असम में नागरिकता के लिए अलग नियम है, इसलिए असम में नागरिकता तय करने की प्रक्रिया सुप्रीम कोर्ट की देखरेख में पूरी होगी.
चुनाव आयोग के फैसले का विरोध भी शुरू हो गया है. तमिलनाडु के मुक्यमंत्री एम.के. स्टालिन ने कहा कि मतदाता पुनरीक्षण बीजेपी की साजिश है लेकिन वो ये साजिश को अपने राज्य में कामयाब नहीं होने देंगे. स्टालिन ने आरोप लगाया कि लोगों से मतदान का अधिकार छीनने का काम बीजेपी बिहार में कर चुकी है,इसलिए DMK तमिलनाडु में लोगों को SIR के खिलाफ जागरूक करेगी.
केरल सरकार ने भी चुनाव आयोग के फैसले का विरोध किया है. मुख्यमंत्री पिनराई विजयन ने कहा कि बीजेपी के इशारे पर हो रहे SIR को वाम लोकतांत्रिक मोर्चा कभी मंजूर नहीं करेगा.
पश्चिम बंगाल में मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी तो कई महीनों से लगातार कह रही हैं कि वो बंगाल में किसी का नाम वोटर लिस्ट से नहीं कटने देंगी. चुनाव आयोग की प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस से कुछ क्षण पहले ममता बनर्जी ने दस जिलों के जिला कलक्टर समेत 61 IAS अफसरों और पश्चिम बंगाल लोक सेवा के 145 अधिकारियों का तबादला कर दिया.
इसमें तो कोई शक नहीं कि voter list revise होनी चाहिए. जो लोग दुनिया छोड़ गए या दूसरे शहर में shift हो गए, जिनके नाम पर कई वोट बने हैं, उनके नाम काटे जाने चाहिए, नए voters के नाम जोड़े जाने चाहिए.
बिहार में हुए special revision ने साबित कर दिया कि इस प्रक्रिया से मतदाताओं को कोई शिकायत नहीं है. चुनाव आयोग को न के बराबर शिकायतें मिलीं, इसीलिए voter list के revision का विरोध करने वालों के स्वर बदले हैं.
ये ज़रूरी है कि list revise करने की प्रक्रिया पारदर्शी हो. अगर किसी को ऐतराज हो तो बिना बाधा के उसकी सुनवाई हो. एक भी genuine voter से उसका वोट देने का अधिकार न छिने और एक भी फर्जी voter को वोट देने का अधिकार न मिले.

The Election Commission of India on Monday ordered special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in 12 states and union territories.
These include Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Lakshadweep, Puducherry and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. SIR for remaining states and union territories will be held in next phase.
Electoral lists in all 12 states and UTs have been frozen effective Monday midnight, the Chief Election Comissioner Gyanesh Kumar said.
Enumeration for this phase will begin on November 4 and final electoral rolls, with January 1, 2026 as the qualifying date, will be published on February 7.
Assembly elections are due in Assam next year, but it has been left out from SIR this time. The CEC said, Assam cannot be covered by the same SIR norms applicable to other states because the Citizenship Act has an exclusive provision for Assam – Section 6A – with different criteria for determining citizenship.
The CEC said, Supreme Court is monitoring citizenship verification programme in Assam and it may be completed soon. Separte order for SIR in Assam will be issued, he said.
While BJP leaders welcomed SIR as essential for purging illegal voters from the electoral lists, chief ministers of Tamil Nadu and Kerala opposed it.
TN chief minister M K Stalin, after an emegency meeting with allies, wrote on X: “Right to vote is the foundation of democracy. Tamil Nadu will fight against any attempt to murder it – and Tamil Nadu will win.”
Stalin termed the SIR as “a conspiracy by election Commission to rob citizens of their rights and help BJP.” He cited the Bihar SIR, where, he alleged, names of large numbers of women, minorities and SC/ST voters have been removed from the rolls.
Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, the Left Democratic Front will never accept the revision of electoral rolls, which he alleged, was being done at the instance of BJP.
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has been opposing SIR in her state. On Monday, a few hours before the EC press conference, she ordered the largest single day transfer of 67 IAS officers including 10 district magistrates and 460 West Bengal Civil Service officers.
State minister Shashi Panja said, Trinamool Congress will legally challenge any move to remove names of genuine voters from the rolls.
BJP supporters in West Bengal celebrated by distributing sweets and exploding firecrackers to welcome the SIR process. State BJP chief Shamik Bhattacharya alleged that Mamata Banerjee is trying to change the state’s demography by enlisting foreign nationals as voters.
Periodical revision of electoral lists is an essential requisite for democracy. Names of voters who have died or shifted their residence, or of those who have multiple votes, need to be removed from electoral rolls. Names of new voters who have attained the minimum age of voting need to be added.
The special intensive revision that was undertaken recently in Bihar clearly shows common voters have no objections about the process. The Election Commission received negligible number of complaints. This is why those who had opposed SIR in Bihar have now changed their tune.
It is essential that the revision process be conducted in a transparent manner. If any voter has objections, his or her complaint must be heard. The objective should be: even a single genuine voter must not lose the right to vote and not a single fake voter must get the right to vote.

बिहार के चुनाव प्रचार में बीजेपी ने स्टार कैंपेनर्स की कॉरपेट बॉम्बिंग कर दी. प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी, गृह मंत्री अमित शाह, कृषि मंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान, बीजेपी अध्यक्ष जे.पी. नड्डा, मध्य प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री मोहन यादव जैसे तमाम नेताओं की रैलियां हुई. नीतीश कुमार की भी जनसभाएं हुईं. लेकिन महागठबंधन की तरफ से अकेले तेस्जवी यादव ही मैदान में दिखाई दिए.
मोदी ने प्रचार के पहले ही दिन विपक्ष के खिलाफ सारे चुनावी अस्त्र चला दिए, महागठबंधन को लठबंधन बताया, कहा महागठबंधन चारा चोरों, नौकरी चोरों, ज़मानत पर घूम रहे अपराधियों की जमात है, ये जमात जनता का नहीं, सिर्फ अपना और अपने परिवार का भला कर सकती है, इसलिए जंगलराज वालों को सत्ता से दूर रखने में ही बिहार की भलाई है.
अमित शाह ने कहा कि अब बिहार बदल चुका है, सैकड़ों शहाबुद्दीन भी आ जाएं तो किसी का बाल भी बांका नहीं कर सकते.
दूसरी तरफ महागठबंध के लिए नई मुसीबत सामने आ गई. मुकेश सहनी को उपमुख्यमंत्री का दावेदार घोषित किया गया तो अब दूसरी जातियों के लोग पूछ रहे हैं, उनकी जाति का उपमुख्यमंत्री क्यों नहीं बनेगा?
ओवैसी की पार्टी ने कहा कि अगर दो परसेंट आबादी वाला डिप्टी चीफ मिनिस्टर बनेगा, तो मुसलमान क्या सिर्फ दरी बिछाने के लिए हैं?
तेजस्वी ने इन सवालों के जबाव दिए, NDA के नेताओं के हमलों पर पलटवार किया. कांग्रेस को पच्चीस साल के बाद सीताराम केसरी की याद आई. मोदी कर्पूरी ठाकुर के घर गए.
कर्पूरी ग्राम जाने वाले वो पहले प्रधानमंत्री हैं. कर्पूरी ठाकुर को भारत रत्न भी नरेन्द्र मोदी की सरकार ने ही दिया था. कर्पूरी ठाकुर के बेटे रामनाथ ठाकुर इस वक्त मोदी सरकार में मंत्री हैं. चूंकि बिहार में कर्पूरी ठाकुर ही अति पिछड़ों को मुख्यधारा की राजनीति में लाए थे, अति पिछड़ों के लिए आरक्षण की व्यवस्था कर्पूरी ठाकुर ने ही की थी, इसलिए चुनाव के वक्त कर्पूरी ग्राम में जाकर मोदी ने बड़ा राजनीतिक संदेश दिया.
मोदी ने कहा कि अब कांग्रेस के लोग कर्पूरी ठाकुर की जननायक की उपाधि को चुराने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं. बेगूसराय की रैली में मोदी ने सीताराम केसरी का नाम लेकर कांग्रेस पर वार किया. शुक्रवार को सीताराम केसरी की पुण्यतिथि थी. इस मौके पर कांग्रेस के दफ्तर में सीताराम केसरी की फोटो लगाई गई. राहुल गांधी समेत कांग्रेस के नेताओं ने सीताराम केसरी को श्रद्धांजलि दी.
नोट करने वाली बात ये है कि सीताराम केसरी के निधन के पच्चीस साल हो गए. आज तक कांग्रेस ने उनकी कभी सुध नहीं ली लेकिन चूंकि बिहार में चुनाव है, सीताराम केसरी बिहार के बनिया समुदाय के थे, इसलिए इस बार कांग्रेस को सीताराम केसरी की याद आई.
मोदी ने याद दिलाय़ा कि कैसे कांग्रेस ने सीताराम केसरी को बेइज्जत करके अध्यक्ष पद से हटाया था, उन्हें कांग्रेस दफ्तर से निकाला गया था.
मोदी ने NDA और महागठबंधन में फर्क समझाया. मोदी ने कहा कि NDA का नेतृत्व स्पष्ट है, नीति तय है, नीयत साफ है, सब कुछ जनता के सामने स्पष्ट है, लेकिन “महागठबंधन लठबंधन बन गया है, सब एक दूसरे से लड़ रहे हैं.”
मोदी ने महागठबंधन के खिलाफ तीसरे हथियार का इस्तेमाल किया, भ्रष्टाचार और जंगलराज की बात की. कहा कि महागठबंधन “चोरों की जमात है, बिहार का सबसे भ्रष्ट लालू परिवार और देश के सबसे भ्रष्ट गांधी परिवार ने हाथ मिलाया है, ऐसे भ्रष्ट लोग न देश का भला कर सकते हैं, न बिहार का.”
तेजस्वी यादव ने सहरसा, मुजफ्फरपुर, उजियारपुर और दरभंगा में चुनाव सभाएं की. तेजस्वी ने जब पटना से उड़ान भरी तो उन्होंने हैलीकॉप्टर में तीन और नेताओं को बैठाया. इसकी फोटो भी जारी की.
तेजस्वी के बगल में निषाद समाज के मुकेश सहनी, सामने वाली सीट पर अति पिछड़ा वर्ग से Indian Inclusive Party के अध्यक्ष आई पी गुप्ता और गुप्ता जी के बगल में गोल टोपी लगाकर बैठे RJD के कारी शोएब. वैसे तो RJD में सबसे बड़ा मुस्लिम चेहरा अब्दुल बारी सिद्दीकी को माना जाता है, लेकिन तेजस्वी यादव की नजर इस बार नौजवान वोटर्स पर है, इसलिए तेजस्वी के हैलीकॉप्टर में कारी शोएब जैसे युवा मुस्लिम नेता को जगह मिली.
अपनी चारों रैलियों में तेजस्वी के निशाने पर नरेन्द्र मोदी, अमित शाह और नीतिश कुमार रहे. चूंकि मोदी ने लालू यादव के परिवार को सबसे भ्रष्ट परिवार बताया था तो तेजस्वी ने कहा कि मोदी ने उनके परिवार के पीछे CBI, ED और इनकम टैक्स वालों को लगा दिया है, लेकिन वो डरने वाले नहीं हैं.तेजस्वी ने कहा कि वो बिहार के लोगों को बताएंगे कि मोदी फैक्ट्रियां गुजरात में लगाते है और उन फैक्ट्रियों में बिहार के लोगों को मजदूर बनाते हैं, ये अब नहीं चलेगा.
बिहार का कोई नेता खुलकर स्वीकार नहीं करता, लेकिन बिहार का चुनाव हर बार जाति के आधार पर लड़ा जाता है. इसीलिए नीतीश कुमार अब भी मुख्यमंत्री बने हुए हैं. इसीलिए अति पिछड़ों के नेता जननायक कर्पूरी ठाकुर का ज़िक्र आया.इसीलिए कांग्रेस को सीताराम केसरी की याद आई. इसीलिए तेजस्वी यादव ने मुकेश सहनी औऱ आईपी गुप्ता को हेलीकॉप्टर में बिठाकर तस्वीरें खिंचवाई.
एक फर्क ज़रूर आया है कि अब RJD और कांग्रेस जैसी पार्टियां खुलकर मुसलमानों की हिमायत नहीं करती. इन पार्टियों के नेता मानकर चलते हैं मुसलमान बीजेपी वाले खेमे में जा नहीं सकते, मज़बूरी में हमारे साथ आएंगे लेकिन ओवैसी ने मुसलमानों के बीच एक चिंगारी छोड़ दी है. वो पूछते हैं कि 2 परसेंट जाति वाला डिप्टी चीफ मिनिस्टर पद का दावा करेगा और 18 परसेंट वाला अब्दुल दरी बिछाएगा, ये कब तक चलेगा? ऐसी चुभने वाली बातों का अच्छा खासा असर होता है.

पाकिस्तान के सामने एक तरफ कुआं, दूसरी तरफ खाई

राजस्थान में पाकिस्तान से लगने वाली लोंगेवाला सीमा पर सेना की elite unit भैरव कमांडोज़ ने अपने हुनर दिखाए. ऑपरेशन थार शक्ति 2025 नाम के इस युद्धाभ्यास में भैरव कमांडोज़ के अलावा इन्फैंट्री, आर्टिलरी, आर्मी एयर डिफेंस यूनिट्स ने हिस्सा लिया.
ऑपरेशन थार शक्ति में टैंक कॉलम की मूवमेंट, तोपों से गोलीबारी, थल सेना को एयर सपोर्ट के ऑपरेशन की exercise की गई.
इस दौरान आर्मी एयर डिफेंस की टीम ने कामीकाज़े ड्रोन से दुश्मन पर अटैक का भी अभ्यास किया. ऑपरेशन थार शक्ति में आर्टिफ़िशियल इंटेलिजेंस पर आधारित टारगेटिंग सिस्टम, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक वारफेयर के सिस्टम, अर्जुन और T-90 टैंक, पिनाक रॉकेट सिस्टम जैसे स्वदेशी हथियारों को भी शामिल किया गया है. फ्यूचर वॉर में modern technology और आर्टिफ़िशियल इंटेलिजेंस का इस्तेमाल कैसे होगा, war exercise में इसी की प्रैक्टिस की गई.
ऑपरेशन थार शक्ति के दौरान तीनों सेनाओं में आपसी समन्वय, आत्मनिर्भरता और इनोवेशन पर फोकस किया गया था.
ऑपरेशन थारशक्ति के बाद रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने पाकिस्तान को 1971 की लड़ाई और ऑपरेशन सिंदूर की याद दिलाई, कहा कि ऑपरेशन सिंदूर में सेना ने पाकिस्तान की अक़्ल ठिकाने लगाने वाली dose दे दी है लेकिन अगर पाकिस्तान ने फिर से कोई हिमाकत की, तो इस बार पाकिस्तान तबाह हो जाएगा.
जैसलमेर में भारत की फौज का शौर्य देखकर पाकिस्तान के आर्मी चीफ जनरल आसिम मुनीर को रात को नींद नहीं आएगी. वैसे मुनीर की नींद तो अफगानी फाइटर्स ने भी उड़ा दी है.
अफगानिस्तान के फौजी पाकिस्तान की सरहद पर बंदूकें और रॉकेट लॉन्चर लेकर खड़े हैं. वो मुनीर से कहते हैं कि अगर मां का दूध पिया है तो कभी इस तरफ भी आओ, हम तुम्हें जंग का मज़ा चखाएंगे.
अफगान तालिबान ने बार बार कहा है कि वो पाकिस्तान के साथ बॉर्डर तय करने वाली डूरंड लाइन को नहीं मानते. वो KPK को अपना सूबा मानते हैं. पाकिस्तानी फौज के Former Officers भी कहते हैं कि अफगानिस्तान ने मुनीर की पैंट उतार दी. अब पाकिस्तान के सामने एक तरफ कुआं है, तो दूसरी तरफ खाई.

The top BJP leadership went on full throttle on Day 1 of election campaign in Bihar on Friday. It was a sort of carpet bombing by BJP star campaigners led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Joining him were Home Minister Amit Shah, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, BJP chief J P Nadda, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav and others. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar also addressed election rallies.
On behalf of Mahagathbandhan RJD’s CM face Tejashwi Yadav held the fort alone. He addressed four rallies.
Modi unleashed all his weapons at his two election rallies in Samastipur and Begusarai. He described Mahagathbandhan as “choron ki jamaat” (bunch of thieves).
Amit Shah said, Bihar has now changed and a hundred Shahabuddins cannot harm the state.
For Mahagathbandhan, fresh problems have cropped up after Mukesh Sahni, ‘son of Mallah’, was declared the Deputy CM face. Leaders of other castes are questioning why their castes should not get the same respect.
Congress remembered its former party president Sitaram Kesri after 25 years on his death anniversary. Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders offered flowers near his portrait at the party HQ.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Karpoorigram, the village of Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur and garlanded his statue before addressing his Samastipur rally. Modi is the first PM to visit Karpoorigram. It was his government which honoured the late Karpoori Thakur with Bharat Ratna.
In his rallies, Modi explained to voters the difference between NDA and Mahagathbandhan. He said, NDA has a clear leadership, its policies are well defined and its intent is transparent. “On the other hand, Mahagathbandhan has become ‘Lathbandhan’, an alliance where each constituent is fighting the other”, he said.
Modi then unleashed his third weapon. He spoke about corruption and jungle raj during RJD rule. The Prime Minsiter said, “the most corrupt family of Bihar has joined hands with the most corrupt family of India, and both these families can never serve either Bihar or India.”
For MGB, Tejashwi Yadav was the lone star campaigner. He addressed rallies in Saharsa, Muzaffarpur, Ujiarpur and Darbhanga, where he alleged that Modi government has unleashed CBI, ED and Income Tax department to harass his family.
Before taking off from Patna, Tejashwi took Mukesh Sahni, Indian Inclusive Party chief I.P.Gupta and RJD’s young Muslims leader Qari Shoaib with him in his helicopter.
No top leader from Bihar will ever admit this, but the fact is, every election in the state is fought on the basis of castes.
This is the reason why Nitish Kumar has been ruling as CM for the last 20 years. This is the reason why the leader of backward castes Karpoori Thakur was remembered.
This is also the reason why the Congress sat up and remembered Sitaram Kesri, who hailed from Bania community.
This is the reason why Tejashwi made it a point to take Mukesh Sahni and I.P.Gupta with him in his chopper and ensured to post the picture on social media.
There is one difference this time. Parties like RJD and Congress are no longer speaking about Muslim community. Leaders of these parties take it as a settled point that Muslims would never support the BJP-led alliance. But Asaduddin Owaisi has sent a cat among the pigeons.
Owaisi is asking, if a leader representing two per cent caste is declared the Deputy CM face, will ‘Abdul’ belonging to 18 per cent Muslim community remain content by spreading carpets for leaders? Such a stinging remark is bound to have an impact.

Pakistan caught between frying pan and fire

Operation Thar Shakti war exercise was conducted on Friday at Longewala border adjoining Pakistan. The new elite Bhairav commandos joined the infantry, artillery and army air defence units to carry out the exercise. There were tank columns, artillery guns pounded, and army air support units displayed their fire power. Kamikaze drones displayed their fire power too.
Artificial intelligence based targeting system, electronic warfare measures were on display along with Arjun and T-90 tanks, Pinaka rocket systems. Jointness, Atmanirbharta and Innovation (JAI) was the focus of the exercise.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, the armed forces have already given a dose to shake up the Pakistani army establishment during Operation Sindoor, and if any fresh misadventure happens, Pakistan will be destroyed.
Pakistan army chief Gen Asim Munir will lose his sleep watching the firepower of the Indian army. Already he is losing his sleep because of Afghan Taliban fighters ready with their guns and rocket launchers.
Taliban has been clearly challenging Munir to try attacking Afghanistan. Afghan Taliban has repeatedly said that it does not recognize the Durand Line and it considers Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa as its province.
Former Pakistani army officers say, Afghanistan has left Munir shaking in fear. Pakistan is caught between the frying pan and fire.

दिवाली से पहले सोशल मीडिया पर PVC पाइप और एक लाइटर से घर में ही तेज आवाज़ करने वाली बंदूक बनाने की reel ख़ूब वायरल हुईं. लोगों ने रील देखकर घर में देसी पटाखा गन बनाना सीखा. फिर उसकी दुकान लगा ली. कुछ लोगों ने खुद ही गन बनाकर अपने बच्चों को थमा दी. इसके बाद दिवाली पर हादसे हुए.
कम से कम 10 लोगों की आंखों की रोशनी चली गई और तीन सौ से ज्यादा लोग अस्पतालों में भर्ती हैं.
भोपाल और उसके आसपास के जिलों में pvc पाइप से बनी नकली guns की जमकर बिक्री हुई. लोगों ने डेढ़ सौ से दो सौ रुपए देकर ये guns ख़रीदीं और जब इन्हें दिवाली पर इस्तेमाल किया, तो त्यौहार मातम में बदल गया.
सिर्फ भोपाल में 150 से ज़्यादा लोग घायल हुए. लोगों की आंखों में चोट लगी. कई लोगों की आंखों की रोशनी हमेशा के लिए चली गई.
pvc के दो pipes को जोड़कर जुगाड़ से गन का आकार दिया जाता है. फिर इसके अंदर पोटाश या कैल्शियम कार्बाइड के टुकड़े डाले जाते हैं. इन टुकड़ों पर पानी की कुछ बूंदें डालकर लाइटर से ignition दिया जाता है. संकरे पाइप में केमिकल रिएक्शन से बनने वाली गैस जब फैलती है, तो ज़ोरदार धमाका होता है, चिंगारी निकलती है.
हैरानी की बात ये है कि गुरुवार को जब हमारे संवाददाता अमिताभ अनुराग भोपाल की सड़कों पर निकले तो कई जगह ये गन बिकती हुई दिखाई दी. गुरुवार की रात ‘आज की बात’ शो में ये खबर प्रसारित होने के बाद भोपाल के जिला कलक्टर ने पीवीसी पाइप गन की बिक्री पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया.
पहले ये गन्स गांवों में किसानों के काम आती थीं. इनकी मदद से किसान आवारा पशुओं को अपने खेत से भगाते थे. लेकिन, इस बार ये pipe guns सोशल मीडिया पर trend हुईं तो इनको बनाकर बेचने वालों को भी कम लागत में ज़्यादा कमाई का नुस्खा मिल गया.
जबलपुर, इंदौर, ग्वालियर, विदिशा और भोपाल में ऐसी गन्स को हज़ारों लोगों ने ख़रीदा और इस्तेमाल किया. ये pvc गन्स चलाने में जितनी आसान हैं, उतनी ही ज़्यादा ख़तरनाक हैं.
जो लोग इस गन के चक्कर में घायल होकर अस्पताल में भर्ती हैं, उन्होंने बताया कि तीन-चार बार फ़ायर करने के बाद उनकी गन ने काम करना बंद कर दिया था. जब उन्होंने चेक करने के लिए पाइप में झांकने की कोशिश की तो धमाका हो गया.
भोपाल में जो हुआ, उसकी वजह सोशल मीडिया पर चलने वाले रील हैं. यहीं से लोगों ने PVC पाइप बम बनाना सीखा. इस चक्कर में ना जाने कितने लोगों की आंखों की रोशनी चली गई.
आजकल लोग हर वक्त फेसबुक, व्हाट्सऐप और यू्ट्यूब में घुसे रहते हैं. यहां चलने वाले वीडियो का यकीन करके उस पर अपना फायदा देखने लगते हैं. इन platforms पर लिखी गई हर बात को सच मानने लगते हैं. इसका नुकसान कितना होता है, कैसा होता है, ये भोपाल, ग्वालियर और विदिशा जैसी जगहों पर देखने को मिला.
मेरा आपसे निवेदन है कि किसी भी वीडियो पर आंख बंद करके यकीन न करें. अपना भला-बुरा आपको खुद समझना होगा.

छठ की भीड़ : रेलवे से कहाँ चूक हुई?

बिहार के लोगों में महापर्व छठ को लेकर इस बार काफी उत्साह है. बिहार के जो लोग देश के दूसरे राज्यों में रहते हैं, वे छठ के मौके पर घर जाते हैं. इसलिए ट्रेनों में जबरदस्त भीड़ है. गुजरात के रेलवे स्टेशन्स के बाहर दो किलोमीटर लंबी लाइनें लगी हुई देखी गई.
रेलवे ने छठ के लिए तेरह हजार विशेष ट्रेनों का इंतजाम किया लेकिन भीड़ इतनी ज्यादा है कि सारे इंतजाम कम पड़ रहे हैं.
गुरुवार को खुद रेल मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने मोर्चा संभाला. स्टेशनों पर भीड़ प्रबंधन और ट्रेनों की लोकेशन्स पर नजर रखने के लिए तीन वॉर रूम बनाए गए. सबकी फीड सीधे रेल भवन में बने वॉर रूम में पहुंच रही थी, जहां अश्विनी वैष्णव खुद मौजूद थे. जिस स्टेशन पर ज्यादा भीड़ दिखती है, वहां तुरंत ट्रेन भेजी जाती है.
जैसे अंबाला स्टेशन पर जबरदस्त भीड़ थी, अमृतसर से पूर्णिया की तरफ जाने वाली ट्रेन जैसे ही स्टेशन पर पहुंची तो धक्कामुक्की शुरू हो गई. तुंरत जालंधर से एक स्पेशल ट्रेन भेजी गई. यात्री उस ट्रेन में बैठकर बिहार के लिए रवाना हो गए.
बीते सालों से सबक लेकर इस बार रेलवे ने भीड़ प्रबंधन के लिए नया mechanism तैयार किया. देश के ऐसे 35 रेलवे स्टेशन चिह्नित किये गये, जहां त्योहार के वक्त सबसे ज्यादा भीड़ होती है. इन स्टेशनों पर सीसीटीवी कैमरों के जरिए 24 घंटे रेलवे मॉनिटरिंग की जाती है, किसी भी स्टेशन पर भीड़ बढ़ती है तो वहां के स्थानीय अफसरों से फीडबैक लेकर स्पेशल ट्रेन पहुंचाई जाती है.
छठ पूजा के लिए लोग पहले भी जाते थे. ट्रेनों में भीड़ पहले भी होती थी. कई लोग ट्रेन की छत पर बैठकर सफर करते थे. कुछ लोग ट्रेन पर लटककर अपनी जान पर खेलकर घर जाते थे और कोई इसकी परवाह नहीं करता था.
रेलवे में इस तरह की यात्रा को नॉर्मल माना जाता था. भीड़ अब भी है. ट्रेनें अब भी कम पड़ रही हैं, लेकिन रेलवे को अब लोगों की परवाह है. इसकी वजह है रेल मंत्री की व्यक्तिगत दिलचस्पी.
अश्विनी वैष्णव ने Data study करके प्लान बनाया, स्पेशल ट्रेन चलाईं, सुविधाएं बढ़ाई, पर जब लोगों को पता चला कि अब स्पेशल ट्रेन चल रही हैं, अब ज़्यादा सहूलियतें है तो जो लोग पहले छठ पर घर नहीं जाते थे, उन्होंने भी अपने बैग पैक कर लिए, भीड़ और बढ़ गई.
अंदाज़ा गलत निकला, इंतज़ाम कम पड़ने लगे, पर लोगों को इस बात का संतोष है कि रेलवे उनकी यात्रा और उनकी सुविधाओं की चिंता करता है. और ये विश्वास बड़ी चीज़ है.
एक बात और. सोशल मीडिया पर जो दावे किए जाएं उस पर आंख मूंद कर कतई यकीन न करें. सरकार की तरफ से जो औपचारिक जानकारी दी जाए, उसी पर भरोसा कीजिए क्योंकि सोशल मीडिया के चक्कर में आजकल सबसे ज्यादा गड़बड़ होती है.

Madhya Pradesh government has imposed a ban on sale, purchase and storage of PVC ‘carbide’ pipe gun firecrackers after at least 300 people suffered eye injuries and ten persons lost their eyesight during Diwali celebrations.
In my 9 pm prime time show ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ telecast on India TV on Thursday night, we showed how PVC carbide pipe guns were being sold openly in shops across Bhopal. Late in the night, the district collector issued a prohibitory order banning sale of these PVC guns.
These ‘carbide guns’, made of PVC pipes are commonly sold as children’s toys during Diwali festive season, but they have been found to be extremely unsafe due to explosive chemical reactions.
The prohibitory order will be enforced by sub-divisional magistrates, executive magistrates and police officers, for all pipe guns made of PVC, iron or steel.
India TV correspondent Anurag Amitabh found these pipe guns being sold during Diwali rush for Rs 150 to 200 per piece in places like Bhopal, Seoni, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Vidisha.
To make a pipe gun, two PVC pipes are joined and filled with potash or calcium carbide. Some water drops are dropped on this chemical and the ignition is carried out by using a lighter. The explosion is deafening and sparks fly out that can damage the eyes.
Originally, these PVC carbide guns were used by farmers to shoo off stray cattle from fields, but after reels started trending on social media, shopkeepers decided to make a clean profit by selling them as Diwali toys. Thousands of people watched ‘pipe gun’ making reels on social media
What happened in Madhya Pradesh was because of reels that became viral on social media. People were shown how to make PVC pipe guns. Some of them tried making these pipe guns and lost their eyesight.
In today’s age people spend most of their time on Facebook, WhatsApp and YouTube. They trust videos and reels that are posted. They believe these to be gospel truth, but the damage that was done can seen in Bhopal, Gwalior and Vidisha.
I would request all of you to be careful and refrain from trusting such reels on social media blindly. Everybody must apply his or her mind to decide what is safe and what is unsafe.

Rush for Chhath : How Railway is coping with crowds

With the annual Chhath festival approaching early next week, all trains going to Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh are full. Outside some stations in Gujarat, nearly 2 km long queues of travellers were seen.
Indian Railways have made arrangements to run 13,000 special trains, but these are unable to cope with the rush.
On Thursday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw sat inside the three war rooms at Rail Bhavan to keep a watch on crowd management and train locations. These three war rooms monitor movement of crowds in 35 top stations round-the-clock. Minute-to-minute data are being prepared and a heat map is developed. Every hour, footfalls at these 36 stations are noted.
Special trains are immediately sent to stations where huge crowds are noticed. In one case, when the minister noticed a huge rush at Ambala station in Haryana for a train going from Amritsar to Purnea, another train was dispatched from Jalandhar to accommodate extra passengers.
Crowds were also noticed in Surat and Udhna stations of Gujarat. More than 2 km long queues of travellers were noticed and the platforms were full. Additional trains were rushed to these stations.
Indian Railways have developed a new mechanism for crowd management. 35 railway stations in India have been identified which cope with huge rush during festivals. These stations are monitored round-the-clock using cctv cameras. Immediate feedback is taken from local railway officials and special trains are sent.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, more than five million people travelled during Diwali and Chhath this year compared to last year. He promised to improve the system next year.
Lakhs of people travel to Bihar and eastern UP to celebrate Chhath festival every year. Many travellers even sit on train rooftops or hang near the train door to travel to their homes.
The only difference this time is, Indian Railways is trying its best to take care of travellers. This has been possible due to the personal involvement of the Railway Minister. Ashwini Vaishnaw studied data and prepared a plan to run special trains. He provided facilities for travellers at railway stations.
The problem began when travellers came to know that several thousand special trains are being run. The crowds multiplied several times.
Earlier, people used to avoid going to their homes to celebrate Chhath because of the train rush, but this time, they packed their bags with their family and made a beeline to the stations. This is the reason why the arrangements fell short.
At least travellers have the satisfaction that they travelled by trains and Railways took care of them. This trust is a valuable thing. One more point: Do not blindly believe claims that are being made on social media about shortage of trains. Trust the information that is given officially by Indian Railways.
