पाकिस्तान के कब्जे वाले कश्मीर में बगावत की आग सुलग रही है. लोगों ने फौजियों को दौड़ा-दौड़ा कर पीटा, फौजियों को सड़क पर घसीटा और पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ आर-पार की जंग का एलान कर दिया.

PoK में पाकिस्तान की फौज की बर्बरता की तस्वीरें दिन दहला देने वाली हैं. मुज़फ़्फ़राबाद पहुंच रहे प्रोटेस्टर्स पर पाकिस्तान रेंजर्स ने गोलियां चलानी शुरू कर दी. PoK के लोग अपनी मांगों को लेकर सूबे के अलग अलग इलाक़ों से राजधानी मुज़फ़्फ़राबाद की तरफ़ बढ़ रहे थे, उनको रोकने के लिए जब पाकिस्तानी फौज के कंटेनर भी नाकाम हो गए, तो आसिम मुनीर ने पाकिस्तान रेंजर्स को प्रदर्शनकारियों पर गोलियां चलाने की हिदायत दे दी.

PoK में पाकिस्तान विरोधी मुहिम की अगुवाई कर रहे नेताओं ने इल्ज़ाम लगाया है कि मुनीर की फ़ौज मीडिया पर बैन लगाकर, बाशिंदों पर अंधाधुंध गोलियां बरसा रही है और जिसको पाकिस्तान आज़ाद कश्मीर कहता है, उसकी हक़ीक़त अब खुलकर सामने आ गई है.

हालांकि फौज के जुल्म का PoK की आवाम के हौसले पर कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ा. PoK के अलग अलग शहरों, क़स्बों, गांवों और पहाड़ी बस्तियों से हज़ारों लोग गाडियों के काफिले के साथ मुजफ्फराबाद की तरफ बढ़ रहे हैं. मुजफ्फराबाद PoK की राजधानी ह .जो इस वक्त PoK को पाकिस्तानी हुकूमत और फौज के जुल्मों से निजात दिलाने के आंदोलन का केन्द्र बन गई है.

PoK में इंक़लाब की गूंज आसिम मुनीर के लिए चेतावनी है. उसके प्लान के लिए झटका है. जिस PoK को मुनीर की फौज भारत के खिलाफ आतंकवाद के launchpad के लिए इस्तेमाल करती है, वहां बगावत की आवाज मुनीर को रात में सोने नहीं देगी.

PoK से आने वाली तस्वीरें सबूत हैं कि वहां के लोगों के सब्र का बांध टूट गया है. अब पाकिस्तानी फौज बेकसूर लोगों पर गोलियां चला रही है. और वहां के लोगों का कहना है कि PoK को अब भारत के खिलाफ दहशतगर्द भेजने के लिए इस्तेमाल नहीं करने दिया जाएगा. जाहिर है ये काम अब फौज के लिए मुश्किल होगा. अब मुनीर को अपने नापाक मंसूबे पूरे करने के लिए कहीं और जमीन तलाशनी पड़ेगी.

RSS@100 : मोदी ने संघ परिवार के सपनों को साकार किया

राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ के शताब्दी समारोह में प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने हिस्सा लिया, एक विशेष डाक टिकट और 100 रूपए का सिक्का जारी किया.

100 रुपये के इस सिक्के पर एक तरफ राष्ट्रीय चिह्न अशोक स्तंभ है और दूसरी तरफ शेर के साथ वरद मुद्रा में भारत माता की भव्य छवि अंकित है, जिसके सामने स्वयंसेवकों को भक्ति और समर्पण भाव से नतमस्तक दिखाया गया है.

मोदी ने कहा कि उन्हें गर्व है कि वो स्वंयसेवक हैं. राष्ट्र प्रथम की भावना से जो मिशन सौ साल पहले शुरू हुआ है, वो आज भी अनवरत जारी है.

प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि RSS ने आजादी के बाद विभाजन की विभीषिका में लोगों की सेवा की, जब जब देश पर मुसीबत आई तो संघ के स्वंयसेवक सबसे पहले देश की रक्षा के लिए समपर्ण भाव से खड़े हुए. जब लोकतन्त्र पर हमला हुआ, इमरजेंसी लगी तब संघ के स्वयसेवकों ने संविधान को बचाने की लडा़ई लड़ी.

मोदी ने कहा कि संघ आज देश के हर कोने में, हर वर्ग के उत्थान के लिए काम कर रहा है लेकिन कभी किसी स्वंयसेवक ने किसी काम का ढोल नहीं पीटा क्योंकि संघ का मूल मंत्र है, राष्ट्र प्रथम.
RSS की विचारधारा को लेकर मतभेद हो सकते हैं पर संघ की सेवा और राष्ट्रभक्ति पर कोई ऊंगली नहीं उठा सकता. पर 100 साल में संघ ने सिर्फ गालियां खाई हैं. कभी गांधीवध का इल्जाम लगा, कभी मुस्लिम विरोधी होने का आरोप लगा पर प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने संघ की सेवा और राष्ट्रभक्ति के बारे में विस्तार से बताया.

पहली बार भारत के किसी प्रधानमंत्री ने RSS की विरासत और समाज के लिए संघ के योगदान की विस्तार से चर्चा की. RSS के 100 वर्ष पूरा होने पर इससे बड़ा उपहार और क्या हो सकता है.

मोदी ने अपने जीवन में ज्यादातर समय संघ के प्रचारक के रूप में काम किया. प्रधानमंत्री रहते हुए मोदी ने Article 370 हटाने से लेकर राम मंदिर के निर्माण तक संघ के कई सपनों को साकार किया. इसीलिए 100 साल पूरे होने पर RSS के लिए मोदी से बेहतर प्रचारक और कौन हो सकता है ?

There is widespread revolt in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir during the last three days with people chasing away and beating up army soldiers on the streets. The Awami Action Committee has declared a fight to the finish.
Eight people have died so far and more than 100 injured in street violence sparked by firing from Pakistan Rangers. Thousands of people have started marching from towns, villages and hilly hamlets towards PoK’s capital Muzaffarabad from all directions. Huge containers were used to block the march, but the protesters threw the containers into the rivers.
Awami Action Committee leaders like Shaukat Mir are alleging that Asim Munir’s army has clamped ban on media coverage after ordering the armed to fire on protesters. The ground reality of ‘Azad Kashmir’ is now open.
The embers of revolt were already burning over the last several years, but on September 29, when Asim Munir sent a thousand soldiers to Muzaffarabad, it blew up. Soldiers fired on peaceful protesters killing two and injured dozens. In the beginning, the protest was confined to Muzaffarabad and Mirpur, but later the entire PoK joined the movement. People are openly saying there is no difference between the army and terrorist outfits.
Shaukat Ali Kashmiri, exiled PoK leader now based in Switzerland, has alleged that the ISI is using brute force to crush the movement, but the people will not rest till real freedom is achieved.
When the movement began, the demands were for basic facilities and against price rise, but now the protesters want the puppet government installed by the army be thrown out.
The voices of revolt are a warning signal for Asim Munir. It has caused a setback to his plans. PoK, which was being used by Pakistani army as launchpad for pushing armed infiltrators into India, is now reverberating with anti-army slogans. Asim Munir may not be getting a sound sleep at night.
The visuals from PoK are quite clear. People’s patience is fast running out, soldiers are firing on innocent civilians. Protesters are now openly saying they won’t allow the army and ISI to send armed infiltrators from PoK to Kashmir. Asim Munir will now have to find alternate methods to deal with the crisis.

RSS@100 : How Modi realized dreams of Sangh Parivar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took part in the centenary celebration of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, which completed 100 years of its existence on Vijayadashami this year.
Modi released a Rs 100 commemorative coin depicting Bharat Mata and the national emblem and a special postage stamp.
In his speech, Modi said, he is proud of being a swayamsevak of RSS, which has been engaged in character building and uniting society, right from the dark days of Partition till today. “Nation first” is the motto of RSS, he said.
Modi spoke from the depth of his heart on what he learnt as a swayamsevak and what he observed over the last seven decades.
He said, his government has decided to work on mission mode to tackle the problems arising from demographic change. At the same time, he reminded people that RSS has always worked for eradicating the evils of caste system and untouchability in Hindu society.
One can have differences with the ideology of RSS, but nobody can raise a finger at its patriotism. For the last 100 years, RSS had been the target of abuses and allegations. It was alleged that RSS was behind the assassination of Gandhi, it was also alleged that RSS is outrightly anti-Muslim, but today Prime Minister Modi spelled out in detail the humanitarian service and patriotism of RSS.
For the first time, any Prime Minister in India spoke about the heritage of RSS and its contribution to society.
What bigger gift can be than this fulsome praise by the Prime Minister for RSS in its 100th year? Throughout his life, Modi worked tirelessly as a pracharak of RSS and when he became Prime Minister, he fulfilled the Sangh Parivar’s dreams by abrogating Article 370 and building the Ram Janmasthan Temple in Ayodhya. Who else but Modi can be the best ‘pracharak’ for RSS in its 100th year?

पाकिस्तान के गृह मंत्री और पाकिस्तान क्रिकेट बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष मोहसिन नकवी ने बेशर्मी की सारी हदें पार कर दी. एशिया कप की ट्रॉफी टीम इंडिया के हवाले करने से इंकार कर दिया.
BCCI ने साफ कर दिया कि भारतीय टीम मोहसिन नकवी के हाथ से ट्रॉफी नहीं लेगी, नकवी एशिया कप की जो ट्रॉफी लेकर भागे हैं, वो एशियन क्रिकेट काउंसिल के दफ्तर में पहुंचा दें, भारत वहीं से ट्रॉफी ले लेगा. लेकिन मोहसिन नकवी ने ट्रॉफी दुबई के उस होटल में रखी हुई है जिसमें वो ठहरे हैं.
मोहसिन नकवी कह रहे हैं कि ट्रॉफी टीम इंडिया ले ले उन्हें कोई ऐतराज़ नहीं है, लेकिन ट्रॉफी उन्हीं के हाथ से लेनी होगी.
हालांकि सूर्य कुमार यादव और उनकी पूरी टीम भारत लौट आई है, एशिया कप के फाइनल मैच को जीते हुए भी तीन दिन हो चुके हैं, लेकिन मोहसिन नकवी ने न तो ट्रॉफी टीम इंडिया को दी, न खिलाड़ियों के मेडल्स दिए.
मोहसिन नकवी की इस बेजा हरकत को लेकर ACC की मीटिंग में जबरदस्त नोंकझोंक हुई. BCCI ने मोहसिन नकवी को खूब खरी-खोटी सुनाई. अब मामला ICC के पास जाएगा. इतना तो तय है कि एशिया कप ट्रॉफी टीम इंडिया के पास ही आएगी लेकिन सवाल ये है कि मोहसिन नकवी ट्रॉफी लेकर क्यों भागे.
मोहसिन नक़वी ने भारत को एशिया कप की ट्रॉफी देने के लिए अब एक नई शर्त रखी है. नक़वी ने कहा है कि वो टीम इंडिया को ट्रॉफी देने को राज़ी हैं लेकिन अवार्ड समारोह फिर से हो, समारोह में वही टीम इंडिया को ट्रॉफी देंगे और उसका लाइव टेलीकास्ट किया जाए. BCCI ने मोहसिन नक़वी की इस शर्त को सिरे से खारिज कर दिया.
दुबई में मंगलवार को एशियन क्रिकेट काउंसिल की वार्षिक आम बैठक में BCCI के उपाध्यक्ष राजीव शुक्ला और बोर्ड के सदस्य आशीष शेलार पहुंचे. उन्हने एशियन क्रिकेट काउंसिल से एशिया कप की ट्रॉफी नहीं मिलने पर कड़ा ऐतराज़ जताया.
BCCI के अधिकारियों ने कहा कि भारत ने कप जीता है और ट्रॉफी पर टीम इंडिया का अधिकार है. भारतीय टीम को ट्रॉफी मिलनी चाहिए, ACC अध्यक्ष मोहसिन नक़वी ट्रॉफी को तुरंत ACC के दफ्तर में पहुंचाएं, टीम इंडिया वहीं से ट्रॉफी ले लेगी. राजीव शुक्ला ने कहा कि ट्रॉफी एशियन क्रिकेट काउंसिल की है, किसी की बपौती नहीं, जो अपनी मर्ज़ी से उस अपने घर ले जाए, होटल में अपने कमरे में रख ले. लेकिन मोहसिन नकवी टीम इंडिया की जीत से इतने बौखलाए हुए हैं कि जब मीटिंग शुरू हुई, तो उन्होंने नेपाल को वेस्ट इंडीज़ पर जीत की मुबारकबाद दी, मंगोलिया को ACC का सदस्य बनने पर भी बधाई दी लेकिन एशिया कप जीतने पर टीम इंडिया को मुबारकबाद तक नहीं दी.
इस पर आशीष शेलार ने आपत्ति जताई, तब मोहसिन नक़वी ने बेमन से भारत को जीत की बधाई दी.
मोहसिन नक़वी ने कहा कि वो टीम इंडिया को ट्रॉफी देने के लिए एक घंटे से ज़्यादा वक़्त तक मंच पर खड़े इंतज़ार करते रहे, उनका मज़ाक़ बना, पूरी दुनिया की नज़र में वो कार्टून बन गए, इसलिए वो ट्रॉफी और मेडल तभी देंगे, जब अवार्ड सेरेमनी फिर से होगी और टीम इंडिया उनके हाथ से ट्रॉफी लेने को तैयार होगी.
अब भारत मोहसिन नक़वी के इस रुख़ की शिकायत ICC से करेगा. वहीं एशियन क्रिकेट काउंसिल ने अब ट्रॉफी का फ़ैसला ACC के पांच टेस्ट खेलने वाले सदस्यों – भारत, पाकिस्तान, श्रीलंका, बांग्लादेश और अफ़ग़ानिस्तान- पर छोड़ दिया है. इस मसले को सुलझाने के लिए पांचों देशों के क्रिकेट बोर्ड्स की बैठक जल्दी ही बुलाई जाएगी.
अब मैं आपको बताता हूं कि रविवार को फाइनल के बाद इतना ड्रामा क्यों हुआ. टीम इंडिया ने पुरस्कार समारोह शुरू होने से पहले ही बता दिया था कि वो मोहसिन नक़वी के हाथ से ट्रॉफी नहीं लेगी. तय हुआ कि मंच पर मोहसिन नक़वी , एमिरेट्स क्रिकेट बोर्ड के उपाध्यक्ष ख़ालिद अल ज़रूनी और बांग्लादेश क्रिकेट बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष अमीनुल इस्लाम मौजूद रहेंगे, लेकिन मोहसिन नकवी किसी को कोई अवार्ड या मेडल नहीं देंगे. खिलाड़ियों को व्यक्तिगत प्रदर्शन के लिए अवार्ड घोषित किए गए. भारत और पाकिस्तान के क्रिकेटर्स ने आकर अधिकारियों से अवार्ड लिए. इनमें से कोई भी अवार्ड मोहसिन नक़वी ने नहीं दिया.
मंच पर मौजूद दूसरे अधिकारियों ने अवार्ड दिए, तब तक कोई दिक़्क़त नहीं थी लेकिन जब ट्रॉफी देने की बात आई, तो मोहसिन नकवी ने ट्रॉफी पकड़ ली और ज़िद करने लगे कि टीम इंडिया को ट्रॉफी वही देंगे.
टीम इंडिया ने न्यूजांलैंड के कमेंटेटर साइमन डूल को संदेश भिजवाया कि भारतीय खिलाड़ी मोहसिन नक़वी से ट्रॉफी नहीं लेंगे क्योंकि वो PCB और ACC के अध्यक्ष होने के साथ-साथ पाकिस्तान के गृह मंत्री भी हैं और सोशल मीडिया पर भारत विरोधी बयान देते रहे हैं. साइमन डूल ने इस बात की घोषणा भी कर दी. इसके बाद एशिया कप के मेजबान यूनाइटेड अरब एमिरेट्स ने मोहसिन नक़वी और भारतीय टीम के मैनेजमेंट से बात करके बीच का रास्ता निकालने की कोशिश की ताकि विजेता टीम को ट्रॉफी दी जा सके.
पहले एमिरेट्स क्रिकेट बोर्ड ने ऑफ़र दिया कि भारतीय टीम को बांग्लादेश क्रिकेट बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष अमीनुल इस्लाम से ट्रॉफी दिला दी जाए. टीम इंडिया इसके लिए तैयार हो गई लेकिन, मोहसिन नक़वी नहीं राज़ी हुए. वो अपने हाथ से टीम इंडिया को ट्रॉफी देने पर अड़े रहे.
इसके बाद, एमिरेट्स क्रिकेट बोर्ड के उपाध्यक्ष ख़ालिद अल ज़रूनी से टीम इंडिया को ट्रॉफी दिलाने का प्रस्ताव दिया गया. मोहसिन नक़वी इसके लिए भी तैयार नहीं हुए. वह मंच पर खड़े होकर टीम इंडिया के ट्रॉफी लेने आने का इंतज़ार करते रहे लेकिन भारत के क्रिकेटर्स ने मैदान पर मौजूद होने के बावजूद ट्रॉफी लेने के लिए मंच का रुख़ नहीं किया. मोहसिन नक़वी की ज़िद की वजह से क़रीब एक घंटे तक पूरा ड्रामा चलता रहा. आख़िर में मोहसिन नक़वी मंच छोड़कर होटल रवाना हो गए. उन्होंने अपने अधिकारियों को ट्रॉफी और टीम इंडिया के प्लेयर्स के मेडल भी अपने होटल पहुंचाने का हुक्म दिया. मोहसिन नक़वी के आदेश पर उनके अधिकारी ट्रॉफी लेकर होटल चले गए और टीम इंडिया ने ट्रॉफी के बिना ही जीत का जश्न मनाया.
मोहसिन नकवी ने जो किया, उसे कहते हैं, चोरी और फिर सीनाज़ोरी. क्रिकेट के इतिहास में ये पहला मौक़ा है कि जब जीतने वाली टीम अपनी trophy मांग रही है. विजेता टीम के खिलाड़ी अपने मेडल का इंतजार कर रहे हैं लेकिन हारने वाली टीम के chief उन पर कब्जा करके बैठे हैं, जिद पर अड़े हैं ‘ट्रॉफी मैं दूंगा’.
सबसे शर्मनाक बात ये है कि ये ट्रॉफी हारने वाली टीम के होटल में बेशर्मी की मिसाल बनकर पड़ी है. पाकिस्तान किकेट बोर्ड के चीफ मोहसिन नकवी दुनिया के पहले क्रिकेट अधिकारी हैं, जो मैदान से ट्रॉफी लेकर भाग गए.
ये भी पहला मौका है जब Asian Cricket Council के अध्यक्ष मंच पर कार्टून की तरह खड़े रहे और खिलाड़ियों ने उनकी तरफ देखा भी नहीं.
ये भी पहली बार है कि ACC की बैठक में जीतने वाली टीम के अधिकारी अपने हक के लिए बोलते रहे, लेकिन हारने वाले इतने बेशर्म थे कि टस से मस नहीं हुए.
जो लोग गली मोहल्ले में क्रिकेट खेलते हैं, उनको ऐसी बातों की आदत हो जाती है. वहां अगर कोई हारने लगे तो जीतने वाले का bat छीनकर भाग जाते हैं.
मोहसिन नकवी का level यही है. उन्हें जितनी जल्दी ACC की जिम्मेदारी से मुक्त किया जाए, क्रिकेट के लिए उतना ही अच्छा होगा.

इंटरनेट पर बैन : तालिबान ने एक और गलती कर दी

अफगानिस्तान में इस वक्त इंटरनेट ब्लैकआउट कर दिया गया है. तालिबान ने पूरे अफगानिस्तान में इंटरनेट और मोबाइल नेटवर्क सर्विस बंद कर दी हैं. काबुल, हेरात, मजार-ए-शरीफ और उरुजगान जैसे कई शहरों में फाइबर-ऑप्टिक इंटरनेट सर्विस ठप होने की वजह से ये शहर देश दुनिया से कट गए हैं.
इस ब्लैकआउट के कारण अफगानिस्तान में इंटरनेशनल कॉल करना संभव नहीं है. मोबाइल नेटवर्क बंद होने से अफगानिस्तान के लोग एक-दूसरे से संपर्क नहीं कर पा रहे हैं. ऑनलाइन क्लासेस नहीं हो पा रही हैं. इसके अलावा, बिजनेस पर भी असर पड़ा है. ऑनलाइन कारोबार पूरी तरह ठप है.
अफगानिस्तान में पहले बल्ख, कंधार, हेलमंद, उरुजगान और निमरोज जैसे कुछ सूबों में फाइबर-ऑप्टिक नेटवर्क बंद किए गए थे लेकिन अब ये इंटरनेट बैन पूरे देश में लागू हो गया है. तालिबानी हुकूमत का कहना है कि इंटरनेट और मोबाइल फोन की बजह है से नौजवान पीढ़ी बर्बाद हो रही है. इंटरनेट की वजह से मुल्क में लोग ऐसी हरकतें कर रहे हैं जो शरिया के खिलाफ है. इसलिए सरकार ने देश में इंटरनेट और मोबाइल फोन सर्विस पर बैन लगाने का फैसला किया है.
तालिबान सरकार के इस फैसले पर किसी को हैरानी नहीं होनी चाहिए. तालिबान के शासन में लोगों को अपनी बात कहने का अधिकार नहीं है. लड़कियों को पढ़ने का हक नहीं है. समाज में हर तरह की पाबंदियां लागू हैं. इंटरनैट आज की दुनिया में आजादी और ज्ञान का प्रतीक है और आजादी और ज्ञान से तालिबान की सरकार को एलर्जी है.
अफगानिस्तान की सरकार का ये फैसला आखिरकार तालिबान को नुकसान पहुंचाएगा और उन्हें इसे वापस लेना पड़ेगा.

In the ongoing Asian Cup trophy saga, Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the chairman of Asian Cricket Council, was cornered by BCCI officials at the ACC annual general meeting in Dubai on Tuesday. BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla and board member Ashish Shelar raised strong objections on Naqvi’s decision to take away the Asia Cup and winners’ medals to his hotel.
BCCI officials told Naqvi that India has won the Cup, it has the right to take the trophy, the Cup belongs to ACC and it is not the personal property of Mohsin Naqvi.
Cornered, the PCB chief said, the Indian captain could collect it from him from the ACC office in Dubai. Naqvi insisted that another presentation ceremony be held in which he would personally hand over the Cup to Team India captain.
BCCI officials told him that it was India’s stance from the very beginning that its players and officials will not have any direct interaction with any Pakistani player or official during the tournament.
Naqvi, as ACC chief, was so mean-hearted that at the AGM he first congratulated Nepal for defeating West Indies. He congratulated Mongolia for becoming the new ACC members, but he refrained from congratulating Team India for winning the Cup.
BCCI official Ashish Shelar told him he should at least show the basic courtesy of congratulating Team India. Naqvi, at the end, grudgingly congratulated Team India.
Naqvi said, he waited on the dais for more than an hour to hand over the Cup to India. He said, I became the butt of jokes, a cartoon in the eyes of the world, and I will hand over the Cup and medals only when an award ceremony is held and when Team India agrees to take the trophy from me.
On this, BCCI officials said, India’s stance has already been made clear from the beginning. Its players will not have any direct interaction with any Pakistani player or official.
BCCI will now take up this issue with International Cricket Council, while the ACC has left the decision to the five test-playing members India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Officials of these five member-countries will meet soon.
Let me narrate what exactly happened on Sunday night in Dubai. It was clearly told before the award ceremony that Team India would not take the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi. It was then decided ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi, Emirates Cricket Board vice-chairman Khalif Al Zarooni and Bangladesh board chief Aminul Islam will stand on the podium, but Naqvi will not hand over any award or medal.
Indian and Pakistan players collected their awards for individual performance from the podium, but trouble arose when the Asia Cup trophy was to be given. Mohsin Naqvi grabbed the trophy and insisted that he would hand over the trophy to Team India.
Team India conveyed to Kiwi commentator Simon Doull that it would not take the trophy from Naqvi, since he is also the Home Minister of Pakistan and is also known for making anti-India remarks on social media.
The UAE hosts tried to find a middle path by speaking to Indian management and Naqvi. UAE officials first suggested that Bangladesh cricket board chief should hand over the Cup to Team India. Team India agreed, but Naqvi did not. He insisted that he would hand the Cup to Team India and no one else.
It was then proposed that the UAE board vice-president would give the Cup, but Naqvi torpedoed this offer too. He stood on the podium waiting for Team India to come. Indian players, who were present on the ground, did not go to the podium.
This drama went on for nearly one hour. Finally, Naqvi walked away in a huff, instructing his officials to take the trophy and winners’ medals to his hotel room. Team India then celebrated its victory on the ground minus the Cup.
What Mohsin Naqvi did can be described with an apt Hindi proverb (“Chori Aur Sinazori” – literal meaning, commit a theft and then brazen it out).
For the first time in cricket history, a winning team is demanding its trophy and the winning team players are waiting for their medals, but the chief of the losing team has grabbed the trophy and medals. His insistence is, “I will give the Cup and medals”.
It is the most shameful thing that the Asia Cup is lying in the hotel room of the person, whose team lost the tournament.
Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi is the world’s first cricket official, who ran away from the ground with the trophy.
For the first time, the chairman of Asian Cricket Counil stood on the dais like a cartoon and the players did not even look at him.
For the first time, the representatives of the winning team insisted on their right to get the Cup at the ACC meeting, but the loser team’s chief was so shameless that he did not budge an inch from his stand.
One must remind Naqvi, those playing street cricket exhibit such brazen manners. When a team starts losing, they snatch away the bat of the winning team and run.
Mohsin Naqvi has stooped to that level. The sooner he is relieved from the responsibility of ACC, the better it will be for cricket.

Internet ban : Taliban making a mistake

A complete internet blackout has been clamped in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan. All internet and mobile network services are off. Fibre-optic internet services have been disrupted and Kabul, Herat, Mazar-e-Sharif and Uruzgan are now cut off from the rest of the world.
No international calls are now possible because of the internet blackout. Online classes have come to a standstill and all online business transactions are off.
Earlier, Taliban had blacked out of fibre-optic ndetworks in some provinces like Balkh, Kandahar, Helmand, Uruzgan and Nimroz, but now this ban has been extended to the whole of Afghanistan.
Taliban government says, the ban is part of its crackdown on “immoral activities”. A government spokesman said, this was being done to “prevent vice” which is against the rules of Shariat.
Nobody should be surprised over the Taliban decision. There is no right to freedom of speech and expression in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan, women cannot study in schools, college and universities, and all sorts of medieval social restrictions have been imposed.
Internet today is the symbol of world freedom. It is the symbol of knowledge. Taliban government is allergic towards freedom and knowledge. This decision will ultimately hurt the Taliban regime and it will have to withdraw its ban, sooner or later.
