उत्तर प्रदेश पुलिस की स्पेशल टास्क फोर्स ने 3 दिन पहले कट्टरपंथी मुस्लिम संगठन पॉपुलर फ्रंट ऑफ इंडिया (PFI) के 2 ‘कमांडर्स’ को गिरफ्तार किया था। उनके पास बड़ी मात्रा में विस्फोटक बरामद हुआ था। दोनों ट्रेन से आए थे और मंगलवार को कुकरैल में एक पर्यटक स्थल से पुलिस ने इन्हें गिरफ्तार किया था। पुलिस ने इनके पास से उच्च गुणवत्ता के विस्फोटक पदार्थ, बैटरी, डेटोनेटर, तार, एक पिस्टल और 7 कारतूस बरामद किया था। इनके पास से पुलिस को 12 रेलवे टिकट भी मिले थे। पुलिस को शक है कि बसंत पंचमी के मौके पर सीरियल ब्लास्ट करने की योजना के तहत वे प्रदेश के कई इलाकों में गए थे।

यूपी पुलिस ने जब दावा किया कि PFI अब यूपी को अपना ट्रेनिंग ग्राऊंड बनाना चाहता है तो लोगों ने कई सवाल उठाए थे। शुरुआत में मुझे भी हैरानी तो हुई लेकिन जब मैंने पीएफआई के महासचिव अनीस अहमद का एक वीडियो देखा, जिसे गुरुवार की रात मेरे शो ‘आज की बात’ में प्रसारित किया गया था, तब लगा कि वीडियो यह साबित करने के लिए काफी है कि यूपी पुलिस ने जो दावे किए उनमें दम तो है।

दरअसल कुछ ताकतें देश में नफरत फैलाना चाहती हैं, आग लगाने वाले ऐसे भाषणों से ये ताकतें हिंदुओं और मुसलमानों को आपस में लड़ाना चाहती हैं। ये वो ताकतें हैं जो इस कोशिश में लगी हैं कि भारत की तरक्की को रोका जाए, माहौल को खराब किया जाए। इन ताकतों की कोशिश है कि दंगे कराएं जाएं और नरेन्द्र मोदी को बदनाम किया जाए।

कर्नाटक में मंगलुरु के पास उल्लाल में ‘यूनिटी मार्च फॉर द नेशन’ रैली में अपने भाषण के वीडियो में अनीस अहमद ने कहा, ‘जब सीएए प्रोटेस्ट हुआ तो हम देखते हैं कि दिल्ली दंगे को लेकर पूरे के पूरे सीएए एक्टिविस्ट को टार्गेट किया। ये बताने कि आपको मेरे सामने नहीं आना है, आज जब फार्मर्स प्रोटेस्ट कर रहे हैं तो 26 जनवरी को ट्रैक्टर रैली जैसा ड्रामा करके फार्मर्स को भी टार्गेट किया जा रहा है, लीडर्स को अरेस्ट किया जा रहा है। मैसेज एकदम क्लियर है। अगर इंडिया में जीना है तो इस गवर्मेंट का गुलाम बनकर रहना होगा। सबका साथ सबका विकास सब चला गया है। सिंगल एजेंडा गवर्मेंट दे रही है। वो है क्या आप आरएसएस से डरते हो या नहीं? अगर आप आरएसएस की चापलूसी करोगे तो आपको गवर्नर का सीट मिलेगा। आपको रंजन गोगोई (भारत के पूर्व मुख्य न्यायाधीश, जिन्होंने अयोध्या का फैसला सुनाया) जैसा पार्लियामेंट में सीट मिलेगा। कांग्रेस के नेता जो मुसलमानों का वोट लेकर बीजेपी में जा रहे हैं उन्हें मिनिस्टर का सीट मिलेगा। लेकिन अगर आप बीजेपी के खिलाफ बात करोगे तो आपको यूएपीए मिलेगा। आपको ईडी मिलेगा। आपको एनआईए मिलेगा। मैं आपसे पूछता हूं कि जब ये आरएसएस के लोग आपको वॉर्निंग दे रहे हैं, बीजेपी के लोग आपको वॉर्निंग दे रहे हैं कि क्या आप सरेंडर करेंगे? तो आपका जवाब क्या है? सरेंडर करेंगे?’ (भीड़ का जवाब- नहीं)।

इस वीडियो में पीएफआई नेता ने अपने भाषण में मुसलमानों को भड़काने की कोशिश की। उन्होंने कहा, ‘एक बात वो भूल चुकी है, इंडिया में आज भी मुस्लिम कम्युनिटी ज़िंदा है। ये मुस्लिम कम्युनिटी के बारे में बहुत सारी निगेटिव न्यूज़ भी आती है। बैकवर्ड है, सच्चर कमेटी में ऐसा लिखा है, एजुकेशन नहीं है, सब है, लेकिन ये मुस्लिम कम्युनिटी की एक कैपसिटी भी है, याद रखिएगा। अल्लामा इकबाल ने कहा है, ‘तौहीद की अमानत सीनों में है हमारे, आसां नहीं मिटाना नामोनिशां हमारा।’ ये इंडिया की मुस्लिम कम्युनिटी को आज लीड लेना होगा। ये आरएसएस को जवाब देने के लिए, जब ये आरएसएस इंडियन फैब्रिक को तबाह करने की कोशिश कर रहा है, इंडियन मुस्लिम को लीड लेना पड़ेगा और आज पॉपुलर फ्रंट ऑफ इंडिया वो लीड ले रहा है। इसीलिए हम लोग देख रहे हैं, हर दिन पॉपुलर फ्रंट को टारगेट किया जा रहा है। दिल्ली के अंदर सीएए प्रोटेस्ट हुए, टारगेट पॉपुलर फ्रंट को बनाया गया। दिल्ली में दंगे करके मुसलमानों की जान ली गई केस पॉपुलर फ्रंट पर डाला गया, ईडी पॉपुलर फ्रंट के पीछे आई।’

अनीस अहमद ने इसके बाद यूपी पुलिस के खिलाफ जहर उगलना शुरू किया। उन्होंने कहा, ‘ यूपी में पॉपुलर फ्रंट ऑफ इंडिया के 2 मेंबर्स को अरेस्ट किया, 11 तारीख को अरेस्ट किया, 16 तारीख तक मीडिया के सामने पेश नहीं किया। जब हमने केरल में पुलिस कम्प्लेंट फाइल की तब शाम को एक प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस करते हैं, प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में बताया जाता है कि ये लोग ब्लास्ट करने आए थे, टेररिस्ट अटैक करने आए थे,एक्सप्लोसिव लेकर घूम रहे थे। यानी 11 तारीख को अरेस्ट करने के बाद 16 को पता चला कि ये लोग टेरर अटैक करने आए थे। इसका मतलब क्या है?’

‘याद रखिए, पॉपुलर फ्रंट ऑफ इंडिया को हर दिन टारगेट किया जाएगा। मैं यहां बैठे हर आदमी से कहना चाहता हूं, अगर कोई सोच रहा है कि पॉपुलर फ्रंट को टारगेट करना बंद हो जाएगा, गलतफहमी है। हर दिन पॉपुलर फ्रंट पर एक नया इल्ज़ाम लगाया जाएगा, पॉपुलर फ्रंट को टारगेट किया जाएगा। पॉपुलर फ्रंट के मेंबर्स से भी मैं कहना चाहता हूं, रेडी हो जाओ, यूएपीए आने वाला है। ईडी केस आप पर पड़ने वाले हैं, एनआईए आपके पीछे आने वाला है। नेशनल सिक्योरिटी एक्ट आप पर लगाने वाले हैं, देशद्रोह का केस आप पर लगाने वाले हैं। उम्मीद मत कीजिए कि ये जो दिल्ली के अंदर बैठे जो आरएसएस को दो प्रचारक हैं, ये कुछ रहम दिखाएंगे। यहां पर मुस्लिम उनके दुश्मन हैं, क्रिश्चियन उनके दुश्मन हैं, कम्युनिस्ट उनके दुश्मन हैं। एक आइडियोलॉजी में ट्रेंड हुए दो लोग आज इंडिया को चला रहे हैं, इनसे कोई भी उम्मीद मत रखिए। सिर्फ एक ही उम्मीद रखिए, वो उम्मीद ये है कि हर दिन आपको टारगेट किया जाएगा। आज इंडिया में जब पूरी एक सोसाइटी और खास तौर पर मुस्लिम कम्युनिटी को गुलाम बनाने की कोशिश की जा रही है, ऐसे वक्त में इस कम्युनिटी को आशा देने वाली तंजीम पॉपुलर फ्रंट है।’

मैं जानता हूं कि देश के लोग ऐसे ज़हरीले भाषणों में कही गई बातों पर यकीन नहीं करते, न ऐसी बातों से भड़कते हैं, न उकसावे में आते हैं। लेकिन इन लोगों की बात सुनना इसलिए जरूरी है ताकि आप सवाधान रहें, क्योंकि इन लोगों का मकसद न मुसलमानों का भलाई करना है, न उन्हें मुल्क की फिक्र है, इनका मकसद सिर्फ दुकान चलाना है। ये नफरत के कारोबारी हैं और इनसे बचने की जरूरत है। ये लोग प्यार-मोहब्बत की बात नहीं करते, एक दूसरे से गले मिलने की बात नहीं करते हैं। हिंदू-मुसलमान मिलकर रहें ऐसी बात नहीं करते, ये एक दूसरे का गला काटने की बात करते हैं। किसी को आरएसएस के नाम पर, किसी को मोदी के नाम पर भड़काने की कोशिश करते हैं।

अनीस अहमद ने अपने भाषण में आरएसएस को लेकर भी काफी कुछ कहा। अनीस ने कहा, ‘इंडिया का असल दुश्मन बिना किसी संदेह के आरएसएस है। इंडिया में अगर कोई कैंसर है तो आरएसएस है, कोविड आया चला गया, पोलियो आया चला गया। इसके लिए वैक्सीन भी आ जाती है लेकिन आरएसएस ऐसा एक वायरस है जिसके लिए अभी कोई वैक्सीन नहीं आई है। इंशा अल्लाह, वो वैक्सीन पॉपुलर फ्रंट लेकर आएगा। वो वैक्सीन हम लोग लेकर आएंगे। हम हर जगह आरएसएस को वैक्सीन देंगे क्योंकि हमें पता है कि आरएसएस कौन है। … इसीलिए आज मैं स्टेज से आवाम से कहता हूं। आरएसएस को पहचानिए। जानिए, आपके जिले का आरएसएस लीडर कौन है। आपके डिस्ट्रिक्ट का आरएसएस का बौद्धिक प्रमुख कौन है, शारीरिक प्रमुख कौन है। जानिए उनको, पहचानिए उनको कौन है, क्योंकि ये लोग आपके असल दुश्मन हैं। हमारी आंखों के सामने जुल्म होता है, हमारे आंखों के सामने जब अन्याय होता है। कॉम्प्रोमाइज़ करना पॉपुलर फ्रंट के डीएनए में नहीं है, जो आदमी वो ज़ुल्म कर रहा है उसके हाथ को पकड़ना और फेंकना, ये पॉपुलर फ्रंट के डीएनए के अंदर है।’

अनीस अहमद की बात को हर देशभक्त भारतीय को सुनने और समझने की जरूरत है। उसकी मंशा पर, उसके इरादों पर सवाल उठाने की जरूरत है। क्योंकि इस तरह के लोगों के जहरीले भाषण का पैटर्न एक जैसा होता है। जिस मुद्दे पर भावनाओं को थोड़ी भी भड़काने की गुंजाइश होती है उसका ये लोग इस्तेमाल करते हैं। आज जब अयोध्या में राम मंदिर को लेकर चंदा इकट्ठा किया जा रहा है। बड़ी संख्या में मुसलमान भाई बहन भी मंदिर निर्माण के लिए दिल खोलकर चंदा दे रहे हैं। लेकिन अनीस अहमद ने कहा कि राम मंदिर के लिए लोग चंदा मांगने आएं तो एक फूटी कौड़ी भी मत देना।

अनीस ने कहा, ‘अगर ये लोग आपके घर में और दुकान में राम मंदिर के लिए पैसे मांगने के लिए आएं तो एक पैसा भी मत दीजिएगा। मैं सारे मुस्लिम बिज़नेसमैन से कहता हूं कि जब आरएसएस के लोग आपकी दुकानों में आते हैं, पैसा पूछने के लिए, एक रुपया भी मत दीजिए इन्हें। एक पैसा भी मत दीजिए, क्योंकि ये राम का मंदिर नहीं है। ये आरएसएस का मंदिर है और मुसलमानों के पैसे से आरएसएस के मंदिर में एक ईंट भी नहीं जाएगी।

अब इस ज़हरीले भाषण की व्याख्या करने की ज़रूरत नहीं है। सोशल मीडिया पर जब ये कहा जाता है कि भारत में मुसलमानों पर जुल्म हो रहा है, बीजेपी का साथ ना देने वालों पर केस बनाए जाते हैं। ऐसे में अनीस अहमद की बातें सुनकर ये बताने और समझाने की जरूरत नहीं है कि आग लगाने का काम कौन कर रहा है। पीएफआई अब तक ये काम पर्दे के पीछे से कर रही थी, अब खुलेआम सामने आ गई हैं। इतना ज़रूर है कि पीएफआई का खतरा और इसका खेल कोई नया नहीं है। तीन दिन पहले ही पीएफआई के लोग विस्फोटकों के साथ पकड़े गए थे। वे यूपी में दंगा भड़काने, हिंदू संगठनों के नेताओं को मौत के घाट उतारने का प्लान बना रहे रहे थे। दिल्ली में जब पिछले साल फरवरी में दंगे हुए थे तो उन्हें भड़काने में पीएफआई के भी शामिल होने की रिपोर्ट आई थी। उससे पहले दिसंबर 2019 में शाहीन बाग में धरने को फाइनेंस करने वालों में भी पीएफआई का नाम आया था। पीएफआई ने कभी इन बातों का संतोषजनक जवाब नहीं दिया।

पीएफआई के इरादे कितने खतरनाक हैं ये वीडियो से साफ हो गया है। लेकिन मैं जानता हूं कि हिन्दुस्तान के मुसलमान बहुत समझदार हैं और वो इस तरह के लोगों के चक्कर में आमतौर पर फंसते नहीं हैं। मुझे कांग्रेस नेता गुलाम नबी आजाद की बार-बार याद आ रही है। राज्यसभा में अपने विदाई भाषण में गुलाम नबी आजाद ने कहा था कि उन्हें इस बात का गुरूर है, फक्र है कि वे हिन्दुस्तानी मुसलमान हैं। उन्होंने कहा था कि दुनिया में मुसलमानों के लिए हिन्दुस्तान से ज्यादा महफूज और बेहतर कोई जगह नहीं है।

Three days ago, the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh Police arrested two ‘commanders’ of PFI (People’s Front of India), a radical Muslim outfit. The two had come by train and were arrested at a tourist spot in Kukrail on Tuesday leading to the seizure of 16 high explosives, battery detonator, wire, one pistol and 7 cartridges. Twelve railway tickets were also seized and police suspect that they had visited several places in UP to carry out serial blasts on the occasion of Basant Panchami celebrations.

Initially, I was a bit skeptical about the police version about the PFI activists planning to set up training hideouts in UP, but when I watched a video of Anees Ahmed, general secretary of PFI, that was telecast on Thursday night in my show ‘Aaj Ki Baat’, it seems as if the UP police has only touched the tip of an iceberg. There are forces who want to spread tension between Hindus and Muslims through hate speeches. These forces are desperately trying to halt India’s progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi by instigating communal riots.

In the video of his speech at a “Unity March For The Nation” rally in Ullal, near Mangaluru in Karnataka, Anees Ahmed said, “Earlier anti-CAA activists were targeted, now the farmers are being targeted. The message is clear: if you want to survive in India, you’ll have to live as slave of this government. There is no talk of sabka sath, sabka vishwas. This government is giving you a single agenda: whether you are afraid of the RSS or not? If you become a sycophant of RSS, you’ll get the Governor’s seat, you’ll get a seat in Parliament like Ranjan Gogoi (former Chief Justice of India who delivered the Ayodhya verdict), those Congress leaders who got Muslim votes and have joined BJP will get ministers’ seats, and if you oppose the BJP, then you’ll be booked under UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act), you’ll be hounded by ED and NIA. My question to all those sitting here: Will you surrender to the threats of RSS and BJP?” (the crowd shouts No).
The PFI leader then tried to instigate Muslims in his speech. He said: “The Muslim community is still alive in India. So many things have been said about Muslims, they are backward and illiterate according to the Sachar Committee, but remember, this Muslim community has a capacity too. Allama Iqbal has written, “tauheed ki amaanat, seenon me hain hamare, aasan nahin mitana, namoniishan hamara” (we have the faith of Allah in our hearts, it is not easy to obliterate us). Today, the Muslim community will have to take the lead to give a reply to RSS which is trying to tear the Indian social fabric. Popular Front is taking the lead, and we see, every day, Popular Front is being targeted. There were anti-CAA protests in Delhi, Popular Front was targeted, Muslims were killed in Delhi riots, but cases were filed against Popular Front. Even the ED is hounding PFI.”
Anees Ahmed then launched into a tirade against UP police. He said: “Two activists of Popular Front were arrested by UP police on February 11, but they were not produced before the media till Feb 16. When we filed a missing police complaint in Kerala, the UP police brought them before the media at a press conference and alleged that they had been sent to carry out blasts, they were moving around with explosives to carry out terror strikes. What is the meaning of all this? Popular Front will now be targeted every day with new allegations. I want to tell Popular Front workers sitting here, be ready, you will soon be slapped with UAPA and cases by ED and NIA. You will be booked under sedition law and National Security Act. Do not expect the pracharaks of RSS sitting in Delhi to show mercy towards you. For them, Muslims, Christians and Communists are enemies. The country is being run two such ideologically trained individuals. Do not have any hope from them. The only expectation you have is: you will be targeted every day. Today, efforts being made to subjugate the entire Muslim community, to make them slaves, only Popular Front can give power to the Muslims.”

I know, most of the Indian Muslims will never believe in such hate speeches by leaders who are trying to run their own political shops. These leaders, who spread hate and venom, do not have the welfare of Muslim community in mind. Their only aim is to create a wedge between the Hindus and Muslims by spreading fear and hatred. They do not speak the language of love, they do not want Hindus and Muslims to hug one another and live in peace. They want people from both communities to lunge at one another’s throats, by making speeches, sometimes naming the RSS or sometimes creating a bugbear out of Modi.

Look what the PFI leader said about RSS. Anees Ahmed said: “The real enemy of India is, without doubt, the RSS. Covid and polio came in India and went away, but RSS is a cancer, a virus for which no vaccine has come till now. Inshallah, Popular Front will bring that vaccine (applause from crowd). We will bring that vaccine, because we know what is RSS. Today I want to tell everyone, always try to find out who is your district RSS leader, who is your local Boudhik Pramukh, who is the Sharirik Pramukh of RSS in your district. They are the real enemies. Injustice takes place in front of our eyes, and it is not in the DNA of Popular Front to strike a compromise. It is in the DNA of Popular Front, to catch hold of that hand that is causing atrocities, and throw it away.”

Every patriotic Indian needs to hear, watch and understand what Anees Ahmed is saying in his hate speeches. One must raise questions about him. Such leaders follow a uniform pattern in most of their poisonous speeches. They exploit every opportunity to inflame communal feelings. At a time when people across India are donating generously for building Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Anees Ahmed is telling his followers not to donate a single paisa for this cause.

He said: “I want to tell all Muslim businessmen and shopkeepers not to donate a single paise for the temple. This is not a Ram Temple, it is an RSS temple. Muslims must not contribute a single rupee to build this temple.”

The words of hate in his speech are self-explanatory. At a time when comments are being posted on social media about Muslims in India facing atrocities, about critics of government facing false cases, it is not difficult to comprehend after watching Anees Ahmed’s speeches, who are trying to create disturbances in India. Till last year, PFI had been carrying out its activities from behind closed doors, but now, it has come out in the open. Despite the arrests of two PFI activists with explosives in UP, its role in financing Shaheen Bagh protests in December 2019, and its role in fomenting communal riots in Delhi in February last year, the leaders of PFI never gave convincing replies.

The PFI is treading a dangerous path, but I have full faith in the Indian Muslims, who do not take such hate speeches seriously. They avoid falling in the trap of such leaders. I still remember the farewell speech of Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad in Rajya Sabha, when he said, he was proud to be an Indian Muslims. He had said, if there is any country where Muslims are living peacefully and safely, it is India.

मंगलवार को पूरी दुनिया ने उन तस्वीरों को देखा जिनमें चीन की सेना लद्दाख में पैंगोंग झील के पास बने अपने बंकर और स्ट्रक्चर्स को तोड़ रही है, तंबूओं को उखाड़ रही है, सड़कों और हेलीपैड का नामोनिशान मिटा रही है। इन तस्वीरों को देखकर हर भारतीय को यकीनन अपनी फौज पर नाज होगा, उसके दिल को सुकून मिलेगा। ये तस्वीरें प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के कूटनीतिक और रणनीतिक कदमों की सफलता को दिखाती हैं, जिन्होंने चीन जैसी विश्व शक्ति को वास्तविक नियंत्रण रेखा के पास से अपनी सेना को वापस बुलाने के लिए मजबूर कर दिया।

भारत की फौज चीन की हर हरकत पर नजर रख रही है और पूरी प्रक्रिया की मॉनिटरिंग हो रही है। रक्षा सूत्रों के मुताबिक, फिंगर 4 और 8 के बीच चीनी सेना ने अब तक एक एंटी-एयरक्राफ्ट रेजिमेंट के साथ-साथ एक हजार सैनिकों, 150 इन्फैंट्री कॉम्बैट वीइकल्स, 100 टैंट और 120 सांगड़ (अस्थायी बंकरों) को पहाड़ की चोटियों से हटा लिया है। साथ ही, 362 और 363 बॉर्डर गार्ड रेजिमेंट के सैनिकों को भी चीन की सेना ने वापस बुला लिया है। पीएलए के 6 मोटराइज्ड डिवीजन ने अपने सभी लॉजिस्टिक्स को मंजूरी दे दी है और उम्मीद की जा रही है कि अगले 5 दिनों में अप्रैल के पहले वाली स्थिति बहाल हो जाएगी।

रेचेन ला में में भी चीन की सेना ने 600-700 सैनिकों, 150 इंफैंट्री कॉम्बैट वीइकल्स, 120 टैंकों वाली 3 टैंक रेजिमेंटों को वापस पीछे भेज दिया है। इसके साथ ही अपने 10 रडार सेट्स के साथ 2 एंटी-एयरक्राफ्ट रेजिमेंटों की टुकड़ियों, प्री-फैब्रिकेटेड टेंटों और 10 लॉजिस्टिक स्टेशनों को भी चीन की सेना ने हटा लिया है। चीनियों ने उन जगहों का भी नामो-निशान मिटा दिया है जहां हथियार और गोला-बारूद रखे जाते थे। 4 हाईलैंड मोटराइज्ड इन्फैंट्री डिवीजन, 11 और 12 मोटराइज्ड इन्फैंट्री रेजिमेंट से जुड़े एक हजार से भी ज्यादा सैनिकों को पीछे भेज दिया गया है।

भारतीय सेना ड्रोन्स, वीडियोग्राफी, डिजिटल मैपिंग और फिजिकल वैरिफिकेशन के जरिए चीन के सैनिकों की वापसी की इस पूरी प्रक्रिया पर नजर बनाए हुए है। चीन ने भी दुनिया को यह दिखाने के लिए कि वह शांति चाहता है, अपनी सेना की वापसी की तस्वीरों को शेयर किया है। ये तस्वीरें एक नए भारत की झलक दिखाती हैं जो अपना अतीत पीछे छोड़कर तेजी से उभर रहा है। एक ऐसा नया भारत, जो अपनी सेना के साथ-साथ अपनी आर्थिक और कूटनीतिक ताकत का इस्तेमाल करके एक महाशक्ति को अपने सैनिकों के कदम वापस पीछे खींचने के लिए मजबूर कर सकता है।

इस बात को पूरी दुनिया जानती है कि चीन विस्तारवादी है, और वह दूसरों की जमीन पर कब्जा कर लेता है। दुनिया यह मानती भी है कि चीन ने एक बार कहीं पांव जमा दिए तो पीछे नहीं खींचता, फिर चाहे वह दक्षिण एशिया के इलाके हों या दक्षिण चीन सागर के। लद्दाख से चीन के सैनिकों की वापसी भारत की दृढ़ इच्छा शक्ति, सैन्य शक्ति और सटीक डिप्लोमैसी की झलक दिखाती है जिसके पीछे एक मजबूत राजनीतिक नेतृत्व है। पिछले 50 सालों में ऐसा पहली बार हुआ है। चीन की सेना ने 14 दिनों के भीतर अपने कब्जे वाले इलाकों को खाली करने का वादा किया था, लेकिन हैरानी की बात यह है कि चीन ने 4 दिन के भीतर ही पूरा इलाका खाली कर दिया है। उसके सैनिक अपने हथियार और साजो-सामान समेटकर इस इलाके से जा चुके हैं। इसके साथ ही भारत के लोगों का 9 महीने लंबा इंतजार खत्म हो गया है जो चीनी सैनिकों को वापस जाते हुए देखना चाहते थे।

इन तस्वीरों को नरेंद्र मोदी के उन आलोचकों को देखना चाहिए जो सैनिकों की वापसी के मुद्दे पर बवाल मचा रहे थे। इन नेताओं ने नरेंद्र मोदी की नीयत पर सवाल खड़े किए थे। राहुल गांधी को भी ये तस्वीरें खासतौर पर देखनी चाहिए। चार दिन पहले हुई अपनी प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में वह नरेंद्र मोदी को ‘कायर’ कह रहे थे। राहुल ने कहा था कि नरेंद्र मोदी चीन से डरते हैं और उन्होंने भारत की जमीन चीन को दान में दे दी है। अब जो तस्वीरें सामने आई हैं उसके बाद अब राहुल क्या कहेंगे? क्या ये तस्वीरें भी फर्जी हैं और कैमरे झूठ दिखा रहे हैं?

अब तक होता ये था कि चीन भारत के सब्र का इम्तेहान लेता था। लेकिन ऐसा पहली बार हुआ है जब भारत ने चीन के सब्र को तोड़ा है और उसके गुरूर को मिट्टी में मिलाया है। इसी का नतीजा है कि चीन ने भारत के इलाके में जो बंकर बनाए थे, उन्हें चाइनीज आर्मी खुद तोड़ रही है। क्या पिछले महीने तक कोई ये कल्पना कर सकता था कि भारत की डिप्लोमैसी के सामने मजबूर होकर सुपरपावर चीन अपनी गलती मानेगा और उसे सुधारेगा? पेंगोंग झील के आसपास के इलाके में चीन ने जेसीबी मशीन चला कर पूर इलाके को समतल कर दिया है।

एक तरफ LAC से चीनी फौज के पीछे हटने की तस्वीरें आती हैं, और दूसरी तरफ चीन में 6 महीने से ज्यादा वक्त से फंसे 2 जहाज, एम. वी. जग आनंद और एम. वी. अनास्तासिया, मंगलवार को वापस लौटते हैं। इसके साथ ही बीते 6 महीने से ज्यादा वक्त से चीन के चंगुल में फंसे 39 हिंदुस्तानियों की वतन वापसी होती है। क्या ये महज इत्तेफाक है? ये बिल्कुल इत्तेफाक नहीं है बल्कि भारत के मजबूत इरादों और साफ नीयत वाली लीडरशिप का असर है और देश की आर्थिक एवं कूटनीतिक ताकत के सामरिक इस्तेमाल की कामयाबी है।

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, विदेश मंत्रालय और शिपिंग मिनिस्ट्री की लगातार कोशिशों के बाद चीन के पास समुद्र में फंसे इन भारतीय नाविकों की वापसी संभव हो पाई। इन नाविकों ने भारत की जमीन पर कदम रखने के बाद कहा कि वे प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के बहुत आभारी हैं। ये नाविक 6 महीने से चीन के चक्कर में फंसे थे। इन लोगों ने 6 महीने से जमीन नहीं देखी थी और -3 डिग्री सेल्सियस के तापमान में समुद्र में खड़े जहाज में ठिठुर रहे थे। चीन उन्हें न तो अपनी जमीन पर उतरने की इजाजत दे रहा था, और न ही वापस लौटने दे रहा था। चीन ने इन लोगों को न तो दवा दी और न ही किसी प्रकार की मेडिकल हेल्प। शिपिंग कंपनियां जहाजों में फंसे नाविकों को रिप्लेस करने को तैयार थीं, माल सहित जहाजों को चीन से वापस लाने को भी तैयार थीं, लेकिन चीनी अफसर इसकी भी इजाजत नहीं दे रहे थे।

मैं इन नाविकों की वापसी को भारतीय कूटनीति की जीत मानता हूं। मुझे नरेंद्र मोदी के वे शब्द याद आ रहे हैं जो उन्होंने तब कहे थे जब 2019 के लोकसभा चुनावों के दौरान मैंने उनका इंटरव्यू लिया था। मोदी ने कहा था, ‘मैं न तो किसी से नजर झुकाकर बात करूंगा, न किसी से नजर उठाकर बात करूंगा, मैं नजर मिलाकर बात करूंगा।’ यह एक नए भारत, एक मजबूत भारत और एक ऐसे भारत की व्याख्या है जिसे कोई भी अन्य देश हल्के में नहीं ले सकता।

On Tuesday, the world watched images of Chinese PLA troops dismantling their bunkers, structures and tents, breaking roads and destroying the helipad that they had built last year near Pangong Tso in Ladakh. These images will surely warm the cockles of the heart of every Indian, who surely take pride in the valour of their army. These images signify the success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s diplomatic and strategic initiatives in forcing a world power like China to withdraw its troops near Line of Actual Control.

The Indian army is keeping a watchful eye on the disengagement process. According to defence sources, between finger 4 and 8, the Chinese army has so far withdrawn 1,000 troops, 150 infantry combat vehicles, 100 tents and 120 Sangars (temporary bunkers) on mountain ridges, and an anti-aircraft regiment. Also, 362 and 363 border guard regiment troops have been moved back by the Chinese army. 6 Motorized Division of PLA cleared all their logistics and it is expected that the April status quo ante will return in the next five days.
At Rechen La, the Chinese PLA has withdrawn 600-700 troops, 150 infantry combat vehicles, 3 tanks regiments comprising 120 tanks, troops of 2 anti-aircraft regiments alongwith their 10 radar sets, pre-fabricated tents and 10 logistic stations. Weapons and ammunition storage dumps have also been removed by the Chinese. More than 1,000 Chinese troops belonging to 4 Highland Motorized Infantry Division, 11 and 12 Motorized Infantry Regiments have been moved back..

The disengagement process is being monitored by the Indian army with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), videography, digital mapping and physical verification. On its part, China has also shared images of its troop withdrawal to convince the world that it desires peace. These images project a new India that is emerging from the recent past. A new India, which uses its economic and diplomatic power combined with its military might to force a superpower to withdraw its troops.

The entire world views China as an expansionist power which refuses to vacate territories that it occupies, whether it is in South Asia or the South China Sea. The disengagement in Ladakh underlines India’s strong will power, its military might and focused eco-strategic diplomacy, backed by a strong leadership. This has happened for the first time in the last 50 years. The PLA that had promised to vacate these occupied areas within 14 days, has withdrawn its troops and weapons within a short span of four days at a surprising speed, bewildering military observers. The long wait, since the last nine months has ended for every Indian who wanted to see the Chinese troops leaving.

These images must be watched by those critics of Narendra Modi who had been raising hell over the issue of troops withdrawal. These leaders had questioned Modi’s ‘neeyat’ (intention). Rahul Gandhi, in particular, must watch these images. Four days ago, he had hurled insults like ‘coward’ at Narendra Modi at his press conference. Rahul had then alleged that Modi ‘feared’ the Chinese and he has ‘ceded Indian territory’ to China. Will Rahul now say that the images are fake, and the cameras are lying ?
Till now, we had seen situations in which China used to test India’s patience. For the first time, India has broken China’s patience and forced it to withdraw its troops. India has broken China’s arrogance and intransigence. That is why you see Chinese troops breaking their own bunkers that they had built on Indian territory. Did anybody imagine till last month that the Chinese would withdraw their troops, break their bunkers and destroy their helipad in the face of India’s combined use of economic, diplomatic and strategic pressures.

Not only at the LAC, but on the seas near to the Chinese coast, India achieved success when two ships M.V. Jag Anand and M.V. Anastasia carrying 39 Indian sailors returned home on Tuesday after virtually becoming kept under detention inside their ships for more than six months by the Chinese authorities. This is not sheer coincidence but the success of India’s tactical use of economic and diplomatic power.
The return of these sailors was possible due to consistent and combined efforts by the office of Prime Minister Modi, Ministry of External Affairs and Shipping Ministry. After landing on Indian soil, these sailors said they were very much grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These sailors were confined to their ships, could not land on Chinese soil, and were shivering in minus 3 deg Celsius on sea, The Chinese authorities refused to allow them to leave, did not provide them medicines and doctors. The shipping companies even offered to replace these sailors and bring back the goods they were supposed to unload, but the Chinese authorities did not allow.
I consider the return of these sailors as a victory for Indian diplomacy. I remember the words that Narendra Modi sent when I interviewed him during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Modi had then said: “Main na to kisi se nazar jhuka kar baat karoonga, na kisi se nazar utha kar baat karonga, main nazar mila kar baat karoonga” (I will speak to world leaders on an equal footing, by looking into their eyes, not by looking up, nor by lowering my eyes). Therein lies the key to a new India, a strong India and an India that cannot be taken for granted by others.

दिल्ली पुलिस द्वारा बेंगलुरु की 22 साल की स्टूडेंट ऐक्टिविस्ट दिशा रवि की गिरफ्तारी से कुछ खास हलकों में हलचल मच गई है। वहीं, पुलिस की टीमें बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट की वकील निकिता जैकब और महाराष्ट्र के इंजीनियर शांतनु मुलुक की तलाश में भी जुटी हुई हैं। दोनों अंडरग्राउंड हो गए हैं और गिरफ्तारी से बचने के लिए कानूनी उपायों की तलाश कर रहे हैं। इस पूरे मामले में जो सबसे बड़ी बात निकलकर आई है वह यह है कि ये तीनों भारत और प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को बदनाम करने की एक अंतर्राष्ट्रीय साजिश में शामिल थे।

जब दिल्ली पुलिस कॉलेज स्टूडेंट दिशा रवि को गिरफ्तार करके उसे राजधानी लाई तो शुरू-शुरू में मुझे भी थोड़ी हैरानी हुई। एक बार मेरे मन में भी ये बात गई कि भला कॉलेज की एक लड़की देशद्रोह की हरकत कैसे कर सकती है? लेकिन जैसे-जैसे सबूत सामने आते गए तो पता चला कि यह बहुत बड़ी और गहरी साजिश थी, और जो हुआ वह सोच समझकर हुआ, पूरी प्लानिंग के साथ हुआ। इसमें बड़ी-बड़ी ताकतें शामिल हैं। ऐसा लगता है कि विदेशों में बैठे लोगों ने गणतंत्र दिवस पर हिंसा की एक बड़ी साजिश रची थी।

26 जनवरी को दिल्ली में आग लगाने की साजिश पिछले साल नवंबर में ही शुरू हो गई थी। 6 दिसंबर को कनाडा, पाकिस्तान, ब्रिटेन, अमेरिका और भारत में बैठे कुछ लोग एक वॉट्सऐप ग्रुप बनाकर इस पूरी प्लानिंग को गति देने लगे। 11 जनवरी को इस सिलसिले में जूम मीटिंग हुई। यह मीटिंग 26 जनवरी के ऐक्शन को अंतिम रूप देने के लिए हुई थी। जूम मीटिंग में 26 जनवरी को ग्लोबल ऐक्शन डे का प्लान बताया था। दिल्ली पुलिस यह पता लगाने की कोशिश कर रही है कि इस मीटिंग में कौन-कौन लोग शामिल थे। जांचकर्ताओं का मानना है कि इस साजिश के पीछे पाकिस्तानी और खालिस्तानी दोनों हैं। 11 जनवरी की मीटिंग में यह तय किया गया कि कैसे ‘ट्विटर स्टॉर्म’ क्रिएट किया जाए, किन-किन लोगों को ट्वीटर पर फॉलो करना है, कैसे मैसेज को फैलाना हैं, कैसे किसानों को ट्रैक्टर रैली के लिए भड़काना है। साथ ही यह भी तय हुआ था कि कैसे गणतंत्र दिवस पर लाल किले पर भारत की छवि पर एक बदनुमा दाग लगाया जाए।

फिलहाल दिल्ली पुलिस की जांच की सुई खालिस्तान समर्थक मो धालीवाल और पीटर फ्रेडरिक के नाम पर अटकी है। उसकी वजह ये है कि पीटर फ्रेडरिक का रिकॉर्ड बहुत ही सनसनीखेज है और वह भारत विरोधी गतिविधियों में शामिल रहा है। पीटर फ्रेडरिक 2005-06 से ही भारतीय सुरक्षा एजेंसियों के रडार पर था। पिछले 15-16 साल से वह पाकिस्तान की खुफिया एजेंसी ISI से जुड़े लोगों के साथ काम कर रहा है। टूल किट में पीटर फ्रेडरिक का नाम रिसोर्स पर्सन के तौर पर डाला गया था। पीटर फ्रेडरिक की गिनती मोदी से नफरत करनेवालों में खालिस्तान समर्थक के तौर पर होती है। उसने 2019 में टेक्सास के ह्यूस्टन में आयोजित प्रवासी भारतीयों के एक सम्मेलन ‘हाउडी मोदी’ में लोगों को जाने से मना किया था। इस सम्मेलन को प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने संबोधित किया था।

‘फ्राइडेज फॉर फ्यूचर इंडिया’ नाम का संगठन चलाने वाली दिशा रवि उन लोगों में शामिल है जो कनाडा में बैठे खालिस्तानी मो धालीवाल से सीधे जुड़ी थी। उसने पोएटिक जस्टिस फाउंडेशन के फाउंडर मो धालीवाल के साथ वर्चुअल मीटिंग की थी। किसान आंदोलन के लिए स्वीडन की पर्यावरण कार्यकर्ता ग्रेटा थुनबर्ग ने ट्विटर पर जो टूलकिट अपलोड की थी और बाद में डिलीट कर दिया था, उसे थुनबर्ग को दिशा रवि ने ही टेलीग्राम ऐप के जरिए भेजा था। इस टूलकिट में 26 जनवरी के ‘ग्लोबल ऐक्शन डे’ की पूरी प्लानिंग थी।

जब ग्रेटा ने टूलकिट को ट्विटर पर पोस्ट किया तो दिशा घबरा गईं। तब तक मामला हाथ से निकल चुका था और पूरी दुनिया को उस साजिश के बारे में जान गई थी जिसकी प्लानिंग की गई थी। एक वॉट्सऐप चैट में दिशा ने ग्रेटा से कहा कि उनके ‘नाम इसमें (एफआईआर में) शामिल हैं, क्या हम कुछ वक्त के लिए इस पर बात ना करें? मैं वकीलों से बात करने वाली हूं। आई एम सॉरी, लेकिन इसमें हमारे नाम हैं और हमारे खिलाफ यूएपीए के तहत कार्रवाई हो सकती है।’

दिल्ली पुलिस का कहना है कि दिशा रवि ने गूगल डॉक टूलकिट की कई लाइनों को एडिट किया और वह टूलकिट बनाने और उसे लोगों तक भेजने की ‘एक महत्वपूर्ण साजिशकर्ता’ थी। जब ग्रेटा थुनबर्ग ने अनजाने में ट्विटर पर टूलकिट को शेयर किया, तो दिशा घबरा गई। वह समझ गई कि पुलिस जल्द ही उसे पकड़ लेगी, क्योंकि गूगल डॉक उसके ही आईपी अड्रेस से शेयर किया गया था।

आमतौर पर 21 साल की लड़की की ऐसी हरकतों को मैं यह कहकर नजरअंदाज कर देता कि छोटी उम्र में बच्चों से गलती हो सकती है, लेकिन जब मुझे इस केस की पूरी डिटेल पता लगी तो समझ आया कि जो कुछ भी हुआ वह सोच-समझकर हुआ और पूरी प्लानिंग की साथ हुआ। दिशा को पता था कि इसके नतीजे क्या हो सकते हैं। यह उसके खुद के देश भारत के खिलाफ राजद्रोह की हरकत थी। यही वजह है कि उसने अपने कंप्यूटर से सारे सबूत डिलीट कर दिए। दिशा जानती थी कि वह देश विरोधी काम कर रही है।

अब सवाल ये है कि 22 साल की लड़की देश विरोधी काम क्यों करेगी? उसे इन सबसे क्या मतलब? बतौर क्लाइमेट ऐक्टिविस्ट, दिशा कम्युनिस्टों से प्रभावित है और पूरी तरह मोदी विरोधी है। इसीलिए इस नौजवान लड़की को बहकाना आसान था। मुझे एक वीडियो मिला है जिसमें दिशा कह रही है कि मोदी मुसलमानों के खिलाफ हैं, वह दूसरों की आवाज को दबाते हैं। इस वीडियो में दिशा यह भी कहती हुई दिख रही हैं कि उसके माता-पिता मोदी को सपोर्ट करते हैं, लेकिन वह नहीं। इसका नतीजा यह हुआ कि मोदी और भारत के खिलाफ इंटरनैशनल साजिश रचने वालों के लिए दिशा को एक मोहरे के रूप में इस्तेमाल करना काफी आसान हो गया।

युवा कॉलेज स्टूडेंट दिशा रवि के प्रति लोगों की सहानुभूति हो सकती है, लेकिन यह एक कड़वी सच्चाई है कि गणतंत्र दिवस के मौके पर हुई तबाही में उसका भी रोल था, जब तिरंगे को अपमानित किया गया और पुलिसवालों पर तलवारों से हमला किया गया, उनके ऊपर ट्रैक्टर चढ़ाने की कोशिश की गई। वह दिशा ही थी जिसने निकिता जैकब और शांतनु जैसे अन्य साजिशकर्ताओं के साथ मिलकर उस टूल किट को बनाया और सर्कुलेट किया जिसके चलते दिल्ली को हिंसा की आग में झुलसना पड़ा।

पुलिस अब एक-एक तार जोड़ रही है और हर चेहरे को बेनकाब कर रही है। उसने साजिश के सबूत जुटाए हैं और सारे सबूतों को कोर्ट में पेश किया जा रहा है। पाकिस्तान पहले ही सोशल मीडिया पर दिशा रवि की गिरफ्तारी को एक बड़ा मुद्दा बनाने की कोशिश कर रहा है। पीएम इमरान खान की पार्टी पाकिस्तान तहरीक-ए-इंसाफ ने ट्वीट किया किया कि कैसे मोदी और आरएसएस की सरपरस्ती में भारत सरकार 22 साल की दिशा रवि की गिरफ्तारी के साथ असंतोष की आवाज को दबाने की कोशिश कर रही है।

भारत में जो लोग दिशा की गिरफ्तारी के लिए दिल्ली पुलिस को बुरा-भला कह रहे हैं, उन्हें पता होना चाहिए कि कोर्ट ने प्राथमिक सबूतों को देखने के बाद ही उसे हिरासत में रखने का आदेश दिया है। खालिस्तानी और पाकिस्तानी समर्थक इस बात पर शोर मचाएं तो समझ में आता है, लेकिन सबसे दुखद बात यह है कि हमारे विपक्ष के नेता भी पाकिस्तान की भाषा में बात कर रहे हैं। एक वैश्विक नेता के तौर पर मोदी की छवि पर दाग लगाना ही उनका एकमात्र उद्देश्य लगता है।

राहुल गांधी शायद मानते हैं कि बीजेपी की ताकत नरेंद्र मोदी की इमेज है। नरेंद्र मोदी एक के बाद एक चुनाव इसलिए जीतते हैं क्योंकि उनकी एक छवि है। उन्हें शायद लगता है कि जब तक नरेंद्र मोदी की इस इमेज को नहीं तोड़ा जाएगा तब तक उनका या कांग्रेस पार्टी के पास बीजेपी को हराने का कोई चांस नहीं हैं।

पिछले 6 सालों से कहीं न कहीं राहुल गांधी का पूरा फोकस मोदी की इमेज खराब करने पर रहा है। कभी वह कहते हैं कि मोदी की सरकार अंबानी-अडानी की सरकार है, तो कभी वह सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक और बालाकोट एयर स्ट्राइक पर सवाल उठाते हुए इसके सबूत मांगते हैं, या फिर जेएनयू में जाकर टुकड़े-टुकड़े गैंग को अपना खुला समर्थन देते हैं। मोदी की इमेज पर दाग लगे इसके लिए राहुल ने सैंकड़ों बार कहा कि राफेल की डील में गड़बड़ हुई है। चीन के नाम पर उन्होंने कहा कि ड्रैगन ने हमारी जमीन पर कब्जा कर लिया, मोदी चीन से डरते हैं। किसानों के नाम पर राहुल कहते हैं कि मोदी उनका भविष्य अंधकारमय कर रहे हैं।

दिक्कत यह है कि राहुल का कोई भी इल्जाम मोदी पर चिपका नहीं। चुनावों में मोदी और उनकी पार्टी की जीत होती चली गई। मोदी की लोकप्रियता बढ़ती ही चली जा रही है और जनता ने राहुल के आरोपों पर यकीन करना बंद कर दिया है। इसके उलट जनता को यह यकीन है कि नरेंद्र मोदी एक ऐसे नेता हैं जिनकी सोच और फैसलों को अंबानी-अडानी तो क्या, कोई भी प्रभावित नहीं कर सकता। अगर कोई दावा करे कि वह मोदी से कुछ करवा सकता है तो यह उसकी गलतफहमी होगी। इतिहास गवाह है कि मोदी ने कभी किसी के दबाव में फैसले नहीं लिए। पाकिस्तान हो या चीन, मोदी ने हर बार भारत के दुश्मनों को मुंहतोड़ जवाब दिया है।

The arrest of 22-year-old student activist Disha Ravi from Bengaluru by Delhi Police has raised eyebrows in certain circles, even as police teams are hunting for Bombay High Court lawyer Nikita Jacob and an engineer Shantanu Muluk in Maharashtra, who have gone underground, seeking legal protection from arrest. The larger picture that emerges is that these three were pawns in an international conspiracy to defame India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

I was surprised initially when Delhi Police arrested the college student Disha Ravi and brought her to the capital. My initial reaction was, how could a college girl indulge in an act of sedition? But as more evidences emerged, it now appears there was a big conspiracy planned by people sitting in different countries to create mayhem on India’s Republic Day this year.

The idea of hatching this conspiracy was floated in November last year, and the plan was set in motion by creating a WhatsApp group comprising of people based in Canada, Pakistan, UK, USA and India on December 6. There was a Zoom meeting on January 11 to finalize the plan of action for January 26. Delhi Police is trying to find out who attended this crucial Zoom meeting. Investigators believe both Khalistanis and Pakistanis were involved in this conspiracy. At the Jan 11 meeting, plans were finalized how to create a Twitter storm, which groups to activate on social media, what messages to circulate in order to incite farmers for the tractor rally, and last, but not the least, how to denigrate India’s image at the historic Red Fort on Republic Day.

Delhi Police is now focussing on known Khalistani supporters Mo Dhaliwal and Peter Frederick. The latter was on the radar of Indian security agencies since 2005-06, and had been in touch with Pakistani intelligence agency ISI for the last 10 to 15 years. Peter Frederick’s name figures as resource person in the tool kit that was circulated. A known Modi-hater and Khalistan supporter, Peter Frederick had organized a meeting in Houston, Texas in 2019 to discourage NRIs from attending Howdy Modi event that was addressed by the Prime Minister.

Disha Ravi, who runs Fridays for Future India, was in direct touch with Khalistani activist Mo Dhariwal, founder of Poetic Justice Foundation, sitting in Canada, through virtual meetings. The damaging ‘toolkit’ outlining the plans for Global Action Day on Jan 26, that was posted and later deleted by Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg was sent to her by Disha Ravi via Telegram.
Disha panicked when Greta posted the toolkit on Twitter. By then, the cat was out of the bag and the whole world knew about the conspiracy that had been planned. In a WhatsApp chat with Greta, Disha told her their “names were on it (FIR)…Can we just not say anything at all for a while? I am gonna talk to lawyers. I am sorry but our names are on it. We can literally get UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) against us.”

Delhi Police says, Disha Ravi edited several lines of the toolkit Google doc and was “a key conspirator” in the formulation and dissemination of the toolkit. When Greta Thunberg inadvertently shared the toolkit on Twitter, Disha panicked and she knew police would soon catch up with her, because the Google doc was traced to her IP address.
Normally, for a young girl aged 21 years, I could have condoned her act on the ground that normally teenagers commit such mistakes, but when the entire mystery was unravelled, it became clear that Disha knew what she was up to. It was an act of sedition against her own country India. That is why Disha, in a hurry, deleted all traces of her involvement from her computer. Disha knew she was doing an anti-national act.

The question now arises: why would a 21-year-old girl do such a thing? Though a climate activist, she had Left leanings and was blindly anti-Modi. I have got a video in which Disha was saying that Modi was against Muslims, and he suppresses dissent. She also says she disagrees with her parents who support Modi. The result: it was easy for the main conspirators to use Disha as a pawn in the great game of international propaganda against Modi and India.

People may have sympathy for a young college student Disha Ravi, but it is a bitter truth that she had a role in the mayhem on Republic Day, when the national flag was dishonoured and policemen were attacked with swords and tractors. It was she who along with other co-conspirators like Nikita Jacob and Shantanu created and circulated the tool kit that caused violence in Delhi.
Delhi Police is still trying to connect the missing pieces in this jigsaw puzzle. People are being exposed and evidences are being placed before the courts. Already, Pakistan is trying to play up the arrest of Disha Ravi on social media. Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf posted on Twitter how the Indian government led by Modi and RSS is trying to stifle the voice of dissent, with the arrest of 22-year-old Disha Ravi.

Those in India who are criticizing Delhi Police for Disha’s arrest must know that the court has ordered her custody only after going through the preliminary evidences. We can understand Khalistani and Pakistani supporters making such noises, but the saddest part is that our leaders in opposition are speaking in Pakistan’s language. The only common aim seems to be to tarnish Modi’s image as a world leader.

Rahul Gandhi probably thinks that the core strength of BJP is Modi’s image that has brought consecutive victories for the party. He probably feels that until and unless Modi’s image is not dented, it would be difficult for the Congress to defeat BJP.

For the last six years, Rahul’s actions have concentrated more or less on denigrating Modi, whether by alleging that he has cronies like Ambani, Adani, by demanding evidences of surgical strikes and Balakot air strike, his open support to ‘tukde-tukde’ gang in JNU, his baseless allegations of corruption in Rafale purchase, his allegations of Modi ‘ceding’ Indian territory to China, and Modi pushing farmers into a dark future.
The problem is: none of Rahul’s allegations has stuck so far. In every elections, Modi and his party have scored victories. Modi’s popularity graph is on the rise and people have stopped believing in Rahul’s allegations. On the contrary, people believe that Modi is a leader who cannot be swayed by what Rahul calls his ‘cronies’ like Ambani or Adani. Anybody who knows Modi can vouch for the fact that he is a leader who cannot be swayed or browbeaten. On dealing with China or Pakistan, Modi has always emerged triumphant and taught lessons to India’s enemies.

आज मैं आपसे बड़े दुखी मन से राहुल गांधी के बारे में कुछ कहना चाहता हूं। राहुल गांधी ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के विरोध में शालीनता की हद पार कर दी। उन्होंने लद्दाख में भारत और चीन की सेनाओं के पीछे हटने के मुद्दे पर मोदी के बारे में जिन शब्दों का प्रयोग किया, वे अशोभनीय और अपमानजनक हैं। जिसने भी शुक्रवार को राहुल गांधी की प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस देखी होगी, उसे तब बहुत बुरा लगा होगा जब उन्होंने हमारे प्रधानमंत्री के लिए ‘गद्दार’ और ‘कायर’ जैसे शब्दों का इस्तेमाल किया।

अपने गुस्से को जाहिर करते हुए राहुल गांधी यह भूल गए कि नरेंद्र मोदी एक व्यक्ति नहीं है बल्कि देश के प्रधानमंत्री हैं। वह पूरी दुनिया के सामने भारत के प्रतिनिधि हैं, हमारे देश के सबसे बड़े नेता हैं और उन्हें देश की जनता ने ये जिम्मेदारी सौंपी है। नरेंद्र मोदी किसी एक पार्टी के नेता नहीं हैं, देश की सरकार के मुखिया हैं और 135 करोड़ लोगों के प्रतिनिधि हैं। चीन की तरफदारी करना और अपने प्रधानमंत्री को कायर कहना स्वीकर नहीं किया जा सकता। चीन की फौज को शातिर और अपनी फौज को कमजोर कहना बर्दाश्त नहीं किया जा सकता। ये कहना कि नरेंद्र मोदी चीन के सामने खड़े नहीं हो सकते, वह चीन से डरते हैं, सत्य से परे है।

राहुल आखिर कहना क्या चाहते हैं? जिन नरेंद्र मोदी ने पाकिस्तान पर सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक की, वह कायर हो गए? जिन नरेंद्र मोदी ने पाकिस्तान को घर में घुसकर मारा, एयर स्ट्राइक की, वह गद्दार हो गए? और जिन राहुल गांधी ने एयर स्ट्राइक और सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक के सबूत मांगे, वह महान देशभक्त हो गए? क्या राजनीतिक बहस की भाषा ऐसी ही होनी चाहिए?

प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने चीन को पीछे हटने पर मजबूर कर दिया तो वह डरपोक हैं? और राहुल गांधी चीन की हिमायत करने के चक्कर में चुपके-चुपके चीनी राजदूत से मिले तो वह बहुत बड़े सूरमा है? जिन नरेंद्र मोदी ने चीन पर इकोनॉमिक प्रैशर डाला, दुनिया भर के मुल्कों से दबाव डलवाया, झुकने को मजबूर कर दिया, वह कमजोर नेता हैं? और जो नेता लद्दाख गतिरोध के मुद्दे को लेकर मोदी पर सवाल उठा रहे हैं वे बहादुर हो गए? जिन नरेंद्र मोदी ने अपनी फौज को चीन को मुंहतोड़ जबाव देने का आदेश दिया, सीमा पर फैसले लेने का अधिकार दिया, उनके लिए राहुल कहते हैं कि वह चीन से डर गए। और जो आधा सच आधा झूठ बोलकर अपनी फौज के शौर्य को कम और चीन की सेना की ताकत को ज्यादा बताएं, वह बड़े हिम्मत वाले हो गए? ये कैसे हो सकता है?

राहुल गांधी ने देश के प्रधानमंत्री के बारे में जिस हल्के अंदाज में बात की, जिन अल्फाजों का इस्तेमाल किया, वह बहुत ही शर्मनाक हरकत है। शुक्रवार को राहुल ने कहा, ‘चीन के सामने नरेंद्र मोदी ने अपना सिर झुका दिया, मत्था टेक दिया’, ‘नरेंद्र मोदी ने हिंदुस्तान की पवित्र जमीन चीन को दे दी है’, ‘प्रधानमंत्री डरपोक हैं जो चीन के सामने खड़े नहीं हो सकते’, ‘नरेंद्र मोदी हमारे जवानों की शहादत पर थूक रहे हैं’, ‘मोदी सेना के बलिदान के साथ धोखा कर रहे हैं’, ‘नरेंद्र मोदी ने भारत माता का एक टुकड़ा चीन को दे दिया है।’ उन्होंने ऐसी ही तमाम बातें कीं।

यह कैसी भाषा है? ये कौन सी मर्यादा है? मोदी के खिलाफ आप सैकड़ों आरोप लगा सकते हैं, लेकिन कोई भी उनकी देशभक्ति पर सवाल नहीं उठा सकता। जिस शख्स ने पाकिस्तान को घर में घुसकर मारा, उसे दुनिया के सामने बेनकाब कर दिया, जिसने आतंकवादियों के सीने में खौफ भर दिया, वह कभी भी भारत की संप्रभुता के साथ समझौता नहीं कर सकता, गद्दारी की तो बात ही छोड़ दीजिए।

क्या राहुल गांधी को याद है कि उनकी पार्टी के रक्षा मंत्री ए. के. एंटनी ने 2013 में संसद में क्या कहा था? एंटनी ने कहा था, ‘चीन इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर के निर्माण के मामले में भारत से बहुत आगे है। आजादी के बाद से भारत की नीति थी कि अविकसित सीमावर्ती इलाके विकसित सीमावर्ती इलाकों की तुलना में ज्यादा सुरक्षित रहे हैं।’ तो हम यह मान लें कि राहुल की नजर में उनके रक्षा मंत्री एंटनी बहादुर थे, और मोदी कायर हैं क्योंकि उन्होंने लद्दाख में सरहद पर जवानों के बीच जाकर चीन को ललकारा और ड्रैगन की आंखों में आंखें डालकर कहा कि वह अपनी हद में रहे। क्या राहुल को ये भी याद दिलाने कि जरूरत है कि जब चीन ने भारत की हजारों वर्ग किलोमीटर जमीन पर कब्जा किया था तब देश के प्रधानमंत्री उनके परनाना थे?

आज मैं राहुल गांधी को यह याद दिलाना चाहता हूं कि देश के प्रधानमंत्री पर कोई दुश्मन भी हमला करे तो कैसे उनके सम्मान की रक्षा की जाती है।

29 अगस्त 2013 को दिल्ली में एक विशाल जनसभा को संबोधित करते हुए नरेंद्र मोदी ने हमारे तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री डॉक्टर मनमोहन सिंह को ‘देहाती औरत’ कहने के लिए पाकिस्तान के प्रधानमंत्री नवाज शरीफ पर जमकर निशाना साधा था। उन्होंने कहा था कि नवाज शरीफ ने ऐसे शब्दों का इस्तेमाल कर हमारे प्रधानमंत्री का अपमान किया है। यह स्टेट्समैनशिप का एक शानदार उदाहरण है। मोदी तब गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री थे और उनकी पार्टी बीजेपी विपक्ष में थी। इसे कहते हैं देशप्रेम, और देशभक्त होना बहुत हिम्मत का काम है।

राहुल गांधी को कम से कम उन जवानों के बारे में सोचना चाहिए जो जान पर खेल कर देश की सीमा की सुरक्षा में लगे हैं। आज भी हमारे जवान लद्दाख की जिन ऊंची ऊंची चोटियों पर बैठे हैं, वहां का तापमान माइनस 40 डिग्री है। हड्डियां जमा देने वाली इस सर्दी में हमारे बहादुर जवान चीन की फौज के सामने डटे हैं, और राहुल गांधी कह रहे हैं कि हमारी सरकार ने चीन के सामने सरेंडर कर दिया। ऐसा कहकर राहुल गांधी हमारी फौज की बहादुरी पर सवाल उठा रहे हैं, जिसके कमांडरों ने चीन के साथ सैनिकों की वापसी को लेकर एक समझौता किया है।

अपनी 13 मिनट की प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में राहुल गांधी ने कई बार कहा कि हमारी जमीन चीन को दे दी गई है। रक्षा मंत्रालय ने इस आरोप का कड़े शब्दों में खंडन किया। मंत्रालय ने अपने बयान में कहा, ये ‘गलत और भ्रामक टिप्पणियां हैं। भारतीय क्षेत्र फिंगर 4 तक होने का दावा स्पष्ट रूप से गलत है। भारत का क्षेत्र भारत के नक्शे द्वारा दर्शाया गया है और इसमें 1962 से चीन के अवैध कब्जे में वर्तमान में 43,000 वर्ग किलोमीटर से अधिक का क्षेत्र शामिल है।’

रक्षा मंत्रालय ने कहा, ‘यहां तक कि भारतीय धारणा के अनुसार वास्तविक नियंत्रण रेखा (एलएसी) भी फिंगर 8 पर है, फिंगर 4 पर नहीं। यही कारण है कि भारत ने चीन के साथ मौजूदा समझ सहित फिंगर 8 तक गश्त करने का अधिकार लगातार बनाए रखा है। गलत ढंग से समझी गई सूचना के कुछ दृष्टांतों को देखते हुए उनका खंडन करना एवं उनके बारे में स्थिति स्पष्ट करना आवश्यक है जिनको मीडिया एवं सोशल मीडिया में बढ़ा-चढ़ाकर पेश किया गया है। जो लोग हमारे सैन्य कर्मियों द्वारा बलिदान देकर अर्जित की गई उपलब्धियों पर संदेह करते हैं, वे वास्तव में उनका अनादर कर रहे हैं।’

अंत में मैं कहना चाहूंगा की पूर्वी लद्दाख में बीते 9 महीनों में जो कुछ हुआ वह देश के वीर जवानों के लिए गौरव का विषय है। जब मुद्दा देश का हो, जब बात राष्ट्र की सम्मान की हो, तो राजनीतिक मतभेद भूलकर एक साथ खड़े होकर दुश्मन को जबाव देना चाहिए। आज कांग्रेस के एक बड़े नेता ने मुझसे कहा कि राहुल गांधी को जरा याद दिलाइए कि जब 2008 में आतंकवादियों ने मुबई में हमला किया था तब तो किसी ने मनमोहन सिंह से सवाल नहीं पूछे थे। उस वक्त तो पूरा देश, सारे विरोधी दल, सरकार के साथ चट्टान की तरह खड़े थे।

अब चूंकि राहुल गांधी ने सवाल उठा ही दिए हैं, तो मैं भी एक राज की बात बताता हूं। 26\11 को मुंबई हमले के तुरंत बाद आर्मी, नेवी और एयरफोर्स, तीनों सेनाओं के चीफ ने तय किया कि पाकिस्तान में घुसकर आंतकवादी अड्डों को खत्म करेंगे। तीनों चीफ उस समय के प्रधानमंत्री डॉक्टर मनमोहन सिंह के पास गए और उनसे साफ-साफ कहा कि एयरस्ट्राइक का प्लान तैयार है, फाइटर जेट तैयार हैं, उनमें लेजर गाइडेड बम और मिसाइलें लगाई जा चुकी हैं, हमारे पास चौबीस घंटे का वक्त है, सरकार परमिशन दे तो पाकिस्तान को उसके घर में घुसकर मारेंगे। लेकिन तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री डॉक्टर मनमोहन सिंह ने परमिशन नहीं दी। 26/11 के हमले के 9 साल बीतने पर यह खुलासा किसी और ने नहीं बल्कि उस वक्त के एयर चीफ मार्शल फली होमी मेजर ने रिटायर होने के बाद एक इंटरव्यू में किया था।

मीटिंग के दौरान वायुसेना प्रमुख ने तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री को बताया कि रसद से लेकर हथियारों और लड़ाकू विमानों तक, सब कुछ पाकिस्तान के कब्जे वाले कश्मीर में स्थित आतंकियों के ट्रिंग सेंटर पर हमला करने के लिए तैयार है। लेकिन उन्हें सरकार की तरफ से आगे बढ़ने की इजाजत नहीं मिली। एयर चीफ मार्शल (रिटायर्ड) फली होमी मेजर ने कहा था, ‘26/11 जैसे हमलों के मामले में जवाबी हमला बोलने का मौका सिर्फ 24 घंटे के अंदर तक ही रहता है।’ उन्होंने कहा था कि एयरफोर्स द्वारा की गई एक छोटे से टैक्टिकल ऐक्शन का भी रणनीतिक प्रभाव पड़ता है। उन्होंने कहा था, ‘सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक एक बड़ा मौका था जो खो गया और हम इसका इस्तेमाल ही नहीं कर पाए।’

इस बात की पुष्टि अमेरिका के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति बराक ओबामा ने हाल ही में जारी हुए अपने संस्मरण ‘अ प्रॉमिस्ड लैंड’ में की है। अपने संस्मरण में उन्होंने 2010 की अपनी भारत यात्रा का जिक्र करते हुए लिखा है कि कैसे मनमोहन सिंह ने 26/11 हमलों के बाद पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ जवाबी कार्रवाई करने की मांग का विरोध किया था।

ओबामा ने लिखा, ‘लेकिन उनका यह विरोध सियासी तौर पर महंगा पड़ गया।’ सिंह ने ओबामा से आशंका व्यक्त की थी कि मुस्लिम विरोधी भावना भड़कने से बीजेपी मजबूत हो सकती है।

ओबामा ने इस बातचीत के बारे में लिखा है कि, ‘उन्होंने कहा कि मुस्लिम विरोधी भावना के बढ़ने से भारत की मुख्य विपक्षी पार्टी, हिंदू राष्ट्रवादी भारतीय जनता पार्टी (बीजेपी) का प्रभाव मजबूत हुआ है।’ प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा, ‘मिस्टर प्रेजिडेंट, धार्मिक और जातीय एकजुटता का आह्वान एक नशे की तरह हो सकता है। और नेताओं के लिए इसका फायदा उठाना इतना मुश्किल नहीं है, चाहे वह भारत हो या कोई और जगह।’

उस समय राहुल गांधी भारत के सबसे ताकतवर नेताओं में से एक थे, वह सांसद थे। डॉक्टर मनमोहन सिंह की सरपरस्ती वाली सरकार राहुल और उनकी मां सोनिया गांधी के इशारे पर चलती थी। राहुल ने तब अपने प्रधानमंत्री से क्यों नहीं कहा कि ‘घर में घुस के मारो?’ अगर उस समय कोई डॉक्टर मनमोहन सिंह को ‘कायर’ कहता तो उन्हें कैसा लगता?

एक बहुत ही मशहूर कहावत है, ‘जिनके घर शीशे के होते हैं, वे दूसरों पर पत्थर नहीं फेंकते।’ राहुल गांधी को यह बात समझनी चाहिए।

Today I want to say, with sadness, to what depths Rahul Gandhi has descended while criticizing our Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of disengagement of troops in Ladakh. Rahul crossed the limits of decency and respect for nation’s honour by using words which were insulting and demeaning. Anybody who has watched Rahul Gandhi’s press conference on Friday would have felt bad when he used words like ‘gaddaar’ (traitor) and ‘kaayar’(coward) for our PM.
While expressing his anger, Rahul forgot that Modi is not an individual, he is the Prime Minister, who represents India in world forums, and he has been entrusted with the onerous responsibility to lead the nation by the people of India. Narendra Modi is not the leader of a party, he is the head of government, who represents 135 crore Indians. Nobody can accept Rahul trying to sing China’s tune and calling our PM a ‘coward’. No Indian can tolerate when he says that the Chinese army was clever in occupying territory and our armed forces are weak. To say that Modi does not have the courage and is afraid of China, is a white lie.
What does Rahul want to convey? Is Modi a coward because he ordered air strike and surgical strikes inside Pakistan? Is Modi a traitor because he did what other leaders refused to do – ‘ghar me ghus kar maara’ (entered the enemy’s territory and struck)? And is Rahul Gandhi a great patriot because he had demanded evidence about our air strike and surgical strikes? Should this be the language of political discourse?
Is it correct for him to say that Modi is a coward because he made the Chinese troops withdraw? Is Rahul Gandhi a great warrior because he met the Chinese ambassador in Delhi secretly and spoke in favour of China? Is Modi a weak leader because he put economic and diplomatic pressures on China and forced it to withdraw its troops? Are those leaders brave who are questioning Modi on the Ladakh standoff? A leader like Modi, who gave a free hand to armed forces to take whatever decision they liked to deter the enemy, is in Rahul’s eyes a leader who is afraid of taking China’s name. Will you call the leader valiant, who resorted to half-truths and half-lies, denigrated our own army and indirectly praised the enemy’s army?
The way in which Rahul Gandhi used demeaning words to denigrate our Prime Minister was a shameful act. On Friday, Rahul said, “Modi bowed his head before China”, “Modi gave away our sacred land to the Chinese”, “The PM is a coward who can’t stand erect in front of the Chinese”, “What he has done was nothing but spitting on the martyrdom of our brave jawans”, “Modi has betrayed our jawans who became martyrs”, ”Narendra Modi has handed over a portion of our Bharat Mata to the Chinese”, and so on.
What type of language is this? Is this a dignified language? One can make hundreds of allegations against Modi, but none can raise a finger at Modi’s patriotism. The man who ordered the army and air force to strike deep inside enemy territory, and struck terror in the hearts of enemies, can never compromise India’s sovereignty, leave alone being dubbed a traitor.
Does Rahul remember what his party’s Defence Minister A K Antony said in Parliament in 2013? Antony had said, “China’s capacity of infrastructure building is much advanced compared to India.. India’s policy since Independence was to have an undeveloped border which was more safe (sic) than a developed border.” So, should we assume, in Rahul’s view, that his Defence Minister Antony was brave, and Modi a coward because he went to Ladakh and while addressing army jawans, warned China not to transgress limits? Is it necessary to remind Rahul that the forcible occupation by China of thousands of square kilometres of Indian territory was during the rule of his great grandfather?
Today I want to remind Rahul how it is our sacred duty to protect our Prime Minister’s image if an enemy makes offensive remarks against our leader.
On August 29, 2013, Narendra Modi, addressing a huge rally in Delhi, lashed out at the then Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for calling our then PM Dr Manmohan Singh “dehati aurat” (illiterate woman). He said Nawaz Sharif insulted our Prime Minister by using such words. This is a shining example of statesmanship. Modi was then the chief minister of Gujarat, and his party BJP was in the opposition. This is a clear example of patriotism, and one needs courage to become a patriot.

Rahul Gandhi should at least think about our thousands of army jawans, who are posted on the frontier in Ladakh, in biting cold, guarding our strategic heights in minus 40 deg Celsius temperature. On one hand, our jawans are facing the enemy braving cold and rough terrain, and on the other, Rahul Gandhi is alleging that our government has surrendered before the Chinese. By saying this, he is pointing fingers at the bravery of our armed forces, whose commanders have reached an agreement with the Chinese on troop disengagement.
During his 13-minute-long press conference, Rahul repeated several times that our territory has been ceded to China. The Defence Ministry rebutted this charge in a strongly worded statement. It said, these are “misinformed and misleading comments… The assertion that Indian territory is up to Finger 4 is false. The territory of India is as depicted by the map of India and includes more than 43,000 sq. km. currently under illegal occupation of China since 1962.”
The Defence Ministry said: “Even the LAC, according to Indian perception, is at Finger 8 and not at Finger 4. That is why India has persistently maintained the right to patrol up to Finger 8, including in the current understanding with China. …It is necessary to set the record straight to counter some misinformed and misleading comments being amplified in the media and social media. ..Those who doubt the achievements made possible by the sacrifices of our military personnel are actually disrespecting them.”

In conclusion, let me say, whatever happened during the last nine months in eastern Ladakh is a matter of pride for our valiant jawans. On questions of territorial integrity, sovereignty and national honour, the entire nation must stand as one, forgetting all political differences. Today a senior Congress leader told me, at least ask Rahul why none in the Opposition raised questions against the then PM Dr Manmohan Singh when Pakistani terrorists attacked and caused mayhem in Mumbai during the 26/11 attacks in 2008? The entire nation, along with the Opposition, at that time stood rock solid behind our then PM.
Let me share an open secret. Soon after the 26/11 attacks, chiefs of our army, air force and navy met the then PM Dr Manmohan Singh and sought permission to teach Pakistan a lesson, by destroying terror hideouts in enemy territory. Our army units were ready, our air force planes were ready with laser guided bombs and missiles, and the armed forces chiefs requested the PM to give permission to carry out air strikes within 24 hours. But the then PM Dr Manmohan Singh declined to give permission. This was revealed by none other than the then IAF chief Retired Air Chief Marshal Fali Major in an interview, nine years after the 26/11 attacks.

During the meeting, the IAF chief apprised the then PM that from logistics to weapons and planes, everything was ready to strike terror-training camps in PoK. But he never received a go-ahead from the government. “In the wake of an attack like 26/11, the window of opportunity to strike is 24 hours”, said Air Chief Marshal (Retd) Fali Homi Major, adding that even a small tactical action by the Air Force has a strategic effect. “Surgical strike was an opportunity lost and we didn’t make use of it.”
This has been substantiated by former US President Barack Obama in his recently released memoir “A Promised Land”, in which he mentions his 2010 visit to India, and writes how Manmohan Singh had resisted calls to retaliate against Pakistan after 26/11 attacks.
Obama wrote “..but his restraint had cost him politically”. Singh had expressed fears to Obama that rising anti-Muslim sentiment had strengthened the BJP.
“He feared that rising anti-Muslim sentiment had strengthened the influence of India’s main opposition party, the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In uncertain times, Mr President,” the prime minister said, “the call of religious and ethnic solidarity can be intoxicating. And it’s not so hard for politicians to exploit that, in India or anywhere else,” Obama wrote about the conversation.
At that time, Rahul was one of the most powerful leaders in India, he was a member of Parliament, the government led by Dr Manmohan Singh was being run on dictates from Rahul and his mother Sonia Gandhi. Why didn’t Rahul, at that time, tell his PM to retaliate and do ‘ghar me ghus kar maro’ (enter the enemy territory and strike)? How would he have reacted if anybody at that time had described Dr Singh as ‘a coward’ ?
There is this famous proverb: “Jinke ghar shishey ke hote hain, wey doosron par patthar nahin phenktey” (Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones). Rahul Gandhi must realize this.

गुरुवार को पूरी दुनिया ने उन तस्वीरों को देखा जिनमें पैंगोंग झील के पास चीन के टैंक यू-टर्न लेकर वापस जाते हुए नजर आ रहे थे। इन तस्वीरों को देखकर हर भारतीय के चेहरे पर मुस्कान फैल गई, क्योंकि इसके साथ ही 9 महीने से चल रहे तनावपूर्ण गतिरोध का अंत हो गया। केवल एक व्यक्ति खुश नहीं था – राहुल गांधी।

राहुल गांधी ने शुक्रवार को सुबह आनन फानन में प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस बुलाई और आरोप लगाया कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने ‘भारत की जमीन का एक टुकड़ा चीन को दे दिया है।’ राहुल गांधी ने मांग की कि लद्दाख में अप्रैल 2020 से पहले की यथास्थिति बहाल होनी चाहिए। उन्होंने यह भी पूछा कि देपसांग, गोगरा, हॉट स्प्रिंग्स से सैनिकों की वापसी का क्या हुआ।

कोई आम आदमी भी राहुल गांधी के इन सवालों के जवाब दे सकता है। गुरुवार को जो हुआ वह दोनों तरफ के सैनिकों के पीछे हटने की प्रक्रिया की शुरुआत भर थी, और बाकी के इलाकों से सैनिकों के पीछे हटने को लेकर अभी कई दौर की बातचीत होनी है। रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने गुरुवार को संसद में अपने बयान में इसी बात का साफ-साफ जिक्र किया।

राजनाथ सिंह ने कहा, ‘चीन अपनी सेना की टुकड़ियों को उत्तरी किनारे में फिंगर 8 के पूरब की दिशा की तरफ रखेगा। इसी तरह भारत भी अपनी सेना की टुकड़ियों को फिंगर 3 के पास अपने स्थायी ठिकाने धन सिंह थापा पोस्ट पर रखेगा। इसी तरह की कार्रवाई दक्षिणी किनारे वाले क्षेत्र में भी दोनों पक्षों द्वारा की जाएगी।’ एक अस्थायी व्यवस्था के तहत यह निर्णय लिया गया है कि जब तक राजनयिक स्तरों पर मुद्दे का हल नहीं निकल जाता तब तक फिंगर एरिया में कोई पट्रोलिंग नहीं होगी। चीन की घुसपैठ के पहले भारत के सैनिक फिंगर 8 तक गश्त किया करते थे। शायद राहुल गांधी इसी को कह रहे हैं कि ‘भारत की जमीन चीन को दे दी गई’, जो कि पूरी तरह गलत है।

राहुल गांधी ने गुरुवार को टेलीविज़न पर चीनी टैंकों को वापस जाते हुए देखा होगा। 2 दिन के अंदर ही चीन की सेना ने अपने 200 से ज्यादा टैंकों, आर्टिलरी और बख्तरबंद गाड़ियों को पैंगोंग झील के दक्षिणी तट से हटा लिया है। चीन के सैनिक अपने टैंकों और आर्टिलरी को काफी तेज रफ्तार से पीछे ले गए, और ये दृश्य रक्षा विशेषज्ञों को भी चौंकाने के लिए काफी थे।

चीन की सेना ने टकराव वाली जगहों से अपने सैकड़ों सैनिकों को वापस लाने के लिए फिंगर 8 के उत्तरी किनारे पर 100 से भी ज्यादा ट्रक तैनात किए थे। दोनों देशों के सैनिकों के पीछे हटने का ये समझौता विदेश मंत्री एस. जयशंकर और राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सलाहकार अजीत डोवल द्वारा अपने चीनी समकक्षों के साथ हुई बातचती के चलते हो पाया।

कुल मिलाकर यह डील भारत के लिए अच्छी है लेकिन चुनौतियां अभी भी बनी हुई हैं। यह डील इसलिए महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि चीन को लगता था कि वह भारत पर अपना राजनीतिक और सैन्य प्रभुत्व जमाने में कामयाब हो जाएगा, लेकिन उसे मुंह की खानी पड़ी। अपने बयान में राजनाथ सिंह ने साफ-साफ कहा है कि भारत और चीन की सेनाओं को पीछे हटाने का जो समझौता हुआ है उसके अनुसार दोनों पक्ष अग्रिम तैनाती चरणबद्ध, समन्वय और सत्यापन के तरीके से हटाएंगे। 10 महीनों के गतिरोध के बाद सैनिकों के पीछे हटने की इस प्रक्रिया के तहत चीन अपनी सेना की टुकड़ियों को उत्तरी किनारे में फिंगर 8 के पूरब की दिशा की तरफ रखेगा।

राजनाथ सिंह ने कहा कि समझौते के मुताबिक जो भी निर्माण आदि दोनों पक्षों द्वारा अप्रैल 2020 से उत्तरी और दक्षिणी किनारों पर किया गया है, उन्‍हें हटा दिया जाएगा और पुरानी स्थिति बना दी जाएगी। उन्होंने कहा कि पैंगोंग झील के उत्तरी किनारे पर दोनों पक्षों की तरफ से सैन्य गतिविधियों पर एक अस्थायी रोक पर भी सहमति बनी है।

सैनिकों को पीछे हटाए जाने की इस प्रक्रिया को पूरा होने में लगभग 2 सप्ताह का समय लगेगा, लेकिन ऐसा लगता है कि राहुल गांधी को कुछ ज्यादा ही जल्दी है। किसी को यह समझना चाहिए कि जहां तक जमीनी स्थिति की बात है, वहां अभी भी अविश्वास बना हुआ है और सत्यापन की प्रक्रिया आसान नहीं रहने वाली है।

कुल मिलाकर बात बिल्कुल साफ है। भारत ने अपनी एक इंच जमीन दिए बगैर चीन को उसकी पुरानी पोजिशन पर वापस भेज दिया है। जिस तरह गलवान वैली में पट्रोलिंग प्वाइंट 14 पर भारत और चीन के बीच डिसएंगेजमेंट और डीएस्कलेशन हुआ था, बिल्कुल उसी टेंपलेंट को अब पैंगोंग सो के इलाके में भी फॉलो किया जा रहा है। गलवान वैली में पट्रोलिंग प्वाइंट 14 पर ही वह खूनी संघर्ष हुआ था जिसमें भारत के 20 सैनिक शहीद हो गए थे और चीन के भी सैनिक हताहत हुए थे, हालांकि उसने संख्या नहीं बताई थी।

चीन के सैनिकों ने पिछले साल पैंगोंग झील के भारतीय इलाके में घुसपैठ की कोशिश की थी। उन्होंने फिंगर 4 तक पक्की रोड तैयार कर ली, टेंट लगा दिए और स्ट्रक्चर खड़े कर दिए। इसके बाद ही इंडियन आर्मी ने वहां चीनी सैनिकों की संख्या के बराबर सैनिक तैनात कर दिए। दोनों सेनाएं बिल्कुल आमने-सामने मौजूद थीं। चीन के टैंकों के सामने हमारे टैंक मौजूद थे। लेकिन अब हालात बदल चुके हैं। चीन के सैनिक अब फिंगर 4 की पोजिशन छोड़कर वहां से पीछे हटेंगे और वापस फिंगर 8 पर अपनी पुरानी पोस्ट सिरिजाप सेक्टर पर चले जाएंगे। इसी तरह हमारे जवान भी नॉर्थ पैंगोंग इलाके में धन सिंह थापा पोस्ट पर रहेंगे और कोई भी सैनिक बफर जोन में गश्त नहीं करेगा। इसी तरह की कार्रवाई दक्षिणी किनारे वाले क्षेत्र में भी दोनों पक्षों द्वारा की जाएगी।

पैंगोंग झील से पूर्ण तरीके से सेनाओं के पीछे हटने के 48 घंटे के अंदर वरिष्ठ कमांडर स्तर की बातचीत हो तथा बाकी बचे हुए मुद्दों पर भी हल निकाला जाए। भारत द्वारा लगातार दबाव बनाए रखने के चलते ही चीन पीछे हटने के लिए सहमत हुआ है। चीन को यह साफ-साफ बता दिया गया था कि उन्हें अप्रैल 2020 से पहले की यथास्थिति बहाल करनी होगी। जब नौवें दौर की बातचीत शुरू हुई, तो चीनी सेना के कमांडर पैंगोंग झील से सैनिकों को हटाने पर सहमत हो गए। भारत अपनी जमीन का एक इंच टुकड़ा गंवाए बिना चीन को अपने सैनिकों को पीछे हटाने के लिए सहमत करने में कामयाब रहा। इसीलिए राजनाथ सिंह ने संसद में कहा कि ‘हमने कुछ खोया नहीं है।’

पिछले साल अक्टूबर-नवंबर में पैदा हुए हालात को याद करें। हमारे फाइटर जेट उड़ान भर रहे थे और नए-नवेले लड़ाकू विमान राफेल की भी तैनाती हो गई थी। टैंकों, तोपों और बख्तरबंद गाड़ियों के साथ सीमा पर 50 हजार से ज्यादा भारतीय सैनिक तैनात थे। ऐसा लग रहा था कि अगर चीन की सेना ने जरा भी गड़बड़ी की, तो इंडियन आर्मी उसे करारा जवाब देगी।

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने लद्दाख जाकर साफ शब्दों में कहा था कि ‘हमारे जवानों की शहादत व्यर्थ नहीं जाएगी।’ दूसरी तरफ चीन भी अपनी आदत के मुताबकि बार-बार आंखे दिखा रहा था और लद्दाख में सैनिकों, टैंकों और फाइटर जेट्स की तैनाती बढ़ाता जा रहा था। लेकिन इस बार भारत चीन की घुड़की में नहीं आया। चीन को साफ-साफ समझाया गया कि वापस लौटना ही शान्ति का एकमात्र रास्ता है। भारत से साफ कर दिया कि चीन को वापस जाना ही पड़ेगा, क्योंकि वह नो मैन्स लैंड में घुसकर उस इलाके पर अपना दावा कर रहा था। इतनी सारी मशक्कत करने के बाद भी चीन की सारी चालें बेकार हो गईं।

भारत और चीन के बीच जो समझौता हुआ है उसका मतलब क्या है, मैं आपको आसान शब्दों में बताता हूं। अप्रैल 2020 से पहले हमारी फौज फिगर 3 और 4 के बीच रहती थी और फिंगर 8 तक पट्रोलिंग करती थी। इसी तरह चीन की सेना फिंगर 8 पर रहती थे और वह फिंगर 8 से फिंगर 4 तक पट्रोलिंग करती थी। लेकिन पिछले साल मई में चीन की फौज फिंगर 8 से आगे आ गई और वहां टैंकों, तोपों और बख्तरबंद गाड़ियों को तैनात कर दिया। इतना ही नहीं, कंक्रीट के पक्के स्ट्रक्चर्स भी बना लिए। भारत ने इसका विरोध किया, लेकिन जब चीन नहीं माना तो हमारी फौज भी चीनी फौज के सामने पहुंच गई। इस तरह दोनों देशों की फौजें बिल्कुल आमने-सामने तैनात हो गईं।

चीन ने भारत से ऐसे जवाब की कल्पना कभी नहीं की थी। इसके बाद भी चीन अड़ा रहा, लेकिन अब 9 महीने के बाद चीन को अपनी गलती का एहसास हुआ और वह अपनी फौज को वापस करने पर राजी हो गया। बुधवार को जो समझौता हुआ है, उसके मुताबिक चीन के सैनिकों को फिंगर 4 से फिंगर 8 की तरफ लौटना होगा, जहां वे पहले तैनात रहा करते थे। फिंगर 4 और फिंगर 8 के बीच का इलाका बफर जोन, यानी कि एक तरह से नो मैन्स लैंड बन जाएगा और वहां पर दोनों में से किसी भी देश के सैनिक पट्रोलिंग नहीं करेंगे।

भारत और चीन दोनों के रक्षा मंत्रियों ने इस समझौते की घोषणा कर दी है, लेकिन राहुल गांधी इसे मानने को तैयार नहीं हैं। गुरुवार को उन्होंने तुरंत ट्वीट किया, ‘कोई स्टैटस-को नहीं है, कोई शांति भी नहीं है। आखिर सरकार हमारे जवानों के बलिदान का अपमान क्यों कर रही है।’ शुक्रवार की सुबह उन्होंने जल्दबाजी में एक प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस बुलाई और अपने ट्वीट में लिखा, ‘गद्दारों ने भारत माता को चीरकर एक टुकड़ा हमारे दुश्मन को दे दिया!’ प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि मोदी चीन से भारत की वह जमीन वापस मांगने की हिम्मत ही नहीं जुटा पाए जो उसने पिछले साल अप्रैल में कब्जा कर ली थी।

मुझे राहुल गांधी की फितरत पर हैरानी हुई। पिछले 9 महीनों में राहुल गांधी ने सैकड़ों बार कहा कि चीन ने हमारी हजारों मील जमीन पर कब्जा कर लिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि चीन हमारी जमीन पर आकर बैठ गया है और फिर कहा कि नरेंद्र मोदी चीन का नाम लेने से भी डरते हैं।

1 फरवरी को उन्होंने लिखा कि चीन ने भारत भूमि पर कब्जा कर लिया और हमारे सैनिकों को शहीद कर दिया। इससे एक दिन पहले राहुल गांधी ने लिखा चीन हमारी जमीन पर कब्जा करता जा रहा है और ‘मिस्टर 56 इंच’ ने पिछले कई महीनों से चीन का नाम भी नहीं लिया है। पिछले साल मई से लेकर अब तक राहुल गांधी ने चीन की शान में 40 से ज्यादा ट्वीट किए हैं। हर बार उन्होंने कहा कि चीन ने हमारी जमीन पर कब्जा कर लिया है।

यह समझना मुश्किल है कि राहुल गांधी क्या साबित करना चाहते हैं? क्या वह कहना चाहते हैं कि हमारे जवान चीन को रोक नहीं पाए? क्या वह हमारे बहादुर जवानों की जाबांजी पर सवाल उठा रहे हैं? सेना के वे वीर जवान जिन्होंने एक-एक इंच जमीन के लिए अपने प्राणों की आहुति दे दी, अपना खून बहा दिया, उनके बारे में सवाल उठा रहे हैं? मुझे याद है कि 8 जुलाई 2017 के दिन जब डोकलाम में हमारे सैनिक चीन की फौज का मुकाबला कर रहे थे, राहुल गांधी चुपके से चीन के राजदूत से जाकर मिले थे। चीन के राजदूत ने जो बताया, उस पर यकीन करके उन्होंने हमारी सरकार पर, हमारी फौज पर सवाल उठाए थे। तब से लेकर आज तक राहुल गांधी भारत-चीन के सीमा विवादों को लेकर इसी तरह के सवाल लगातार उठाते रहे हैं।

आश्चर्य की बात ये है कि जब चीन ने भी मान लिया कि उसके सैनिक पीछे हट रहे हैं, और इसकी तस्वीरें भी आ गई हैं तो भी राहुल मनाने को तैयार नहीं हैं। वह इस सच्चाई को स्वीकार ही नहीं कर रहे कि चीनी सेना पीछे हट रही है।

राहुल को मोदी का विरोध करने का पूरा हक है, लेकिन मोदी विरोध में ‘राष्ट्रधर्म’ को कैसे भूला जा सकता है। कम से कम देश के बारे में, देश की फौज के बारे में, देश की एकता, अखंडता और संप्रभुता के बारे में पूरे राष्ट्र को एक होना चाहिए। यह सदियों से हमारे देश कि परंपरा है, हमारे देश का संकल्प है। यदि उन्हें राष्ट्रनीति और राजनीति में से किसी एक को चुनना हो, तो उन्हें ‘राष्ट्रनीति’ को चुनना चाहिए। पिछले 6 सालों में यही मोदी का मूलमंत्र रहा है।

As the world watched visuals of Chinese tanks doing a U-turn and moving back near Pangong lake on Thursday, every Indian had reason to smile as the nine-month-long standoff came to an end, except Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

On Friday morning, he called a press conference to allege that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has “ceded a portion of Indian territory to China” after the agreement on disengagement on troops from friction points at Pangong lake. Rahul Gandhi demanded that the status quo ante position in Ladakh that existed in April 2020 must be enforced. He also asked what happened about disengagement of troops from Depsang and Gogra Hot Springs.

Even a layman can answer Rahul Gandhi’s queries. What happened on Thursday was only the beginning of the disengagement process, and more rounds of talks will take place for disengagement of troops from other areas. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh clearly mentioned this in his statement in Parliament on Thursday.

Rajnath Singh said: “The Chinese side will keep its troop presence on the north bank area to east of Finger 8. Reciprocally, Indian troops will be based at their permanent base at Dhan Singh Thapa post near Finger 3. A similar action will be taken on the south bank area by both sides.” It has been decided that, as a temporary measure, pending resolution at the diplomatic levels there will be no patrolling in the Finger area. Before the Chinese intrusion, Indian troops used to patrol upto Finger 8. Probably, Rahul Gandhi is describing this as “ceding of Indian territory”, which is totally incorrect.

Rahul Gandhi must have watched images of Chinese tanks pulling back on Thursday on television. Within two days, the Chinese PLA withdrew more than 200 of its tanks, artillery and armoured vehicles from the southern bank of Pangong lake. The speed at which the Chinese troops pulled back their tanks and artillery was amazing, even for defence experts.

Moreover, Chinese PLA had deployed more than 100 heavy trucks at the northern bank of Finger 8 to pull back hundreds of troops from the frontline “friction points”. The disengagement deal was the outcome of talks between Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jayashankar and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval with their counterparts in China.

Overall, India has got a good deal, but challenges remain. The deal is significant because China failed to achieve its stragegic goal of asserting its political and military dominance on India. In his statement, Rajnath Singh clearly said, the agreement will see Indian and Chinese troops ceasing their forward deployments in a phased, coordinated and verified manner. The de-escalation which comes after 10 months of standoff will see the Chinese troops presence on the north bank restricted to east of Finger 8.

Rajnath Singh has said that as per the agreement reached, any structures built by both sides since April 2020 in north and south bank areas will be removed and landforms restored. A temporary moratorium on military activities by both sides on the north bank of Pangong lake has also been agreed upon, he said.

The entire disengagement process will take nearly two weeks to complete, and it appears Rahul Gandhi has jumped the gun. One must understand that there is still mutual mistrust as far as the ground situation is concerned and the verification process will be very much tricky.

The overall position is clear. India has managed to make the Chinese troops move back without giving away any inch of its territory. This disengagement process is similar to the disengagement and de-escalation that took place last year at Patrolling Point 14 in Galwan Valley, the scene of bloody clashes in which 20 Indian jawans laid down their lives and an undisclosed number of Chinese troops were killed.

Last year, the Chinese troops tried to transgress into Indian territory in Pangong lake. They had built a road up to Finger 4 and had set up tents, erected structures. It was only then that the Indian army made mirror deployment. Tanks of both armies faced each other. But now the situation has changed.

The Chinese have moved their tanks back from Finger 4 to their old position at Finger 8 in Sirijap sector. Our troops will also pull back to Dhan Singh Thapa post on the northern bank, and none of the troops will patrol the buffer zone. The same pullback with apply for the southern bank for both armies.

A senior commander level talks will take place within 48 hours of the completion of disengagement process. The Chinese side agreed for pullback only after sustained pressures from the Indian side. The Chinese side was told in no uncertain terms that they will have to restore status quo ante than existed in April 2020. When the ninth round of talks began, the Chinese army commander agreed to withdraw troops from Pangong lake. Without foregoing an inch of territory, India managed to persuade the Chinese side to pull back its troops. It was because of this that Rajnath Singh said in Parliament “humne kuch khoya nahin hai” (we haven’t lost anything).

Recall the situation that prevailed in October-November last year. Fighter jets were carrying out sorties in the skies of Ladakh, our new Rafale fighter aircraft had been deployed, more than 50,000 Indian troops had been deployed with tanks, artillery and armoured vehicles. It appeared as if the Indian armed forces were ready to give a big strike back, if the Chinese PLA miscalculated and committed aggression.

Our PM had gone to Ladakh to state clearly that “the martyrdom of our valiant jawans will not go in vain”. On the other hand, the Chinese government, true to its colours, was issuing threats and deploying more troops, tanks and jets overlooking Ladakh. But the Indian side did not bat its eyelid. The Chinese side was told in clear terms that a pullback was the only path towards restoring peace and tranquility. The Chinese army will have to withdraw, because it had entered no man’s land and claiming ownership. All the machinations from Chinese side had reached a dead end.

Let me explain, in simple words, the result of the latest agreement. In April last year, our troops were deployed at Finger 3 and 4 and had been patrolling upto Finger 8. The Chinese troops were deployed at Finger 8, and they used to patrol up to Finger 4. In May last year, the Chinese army crossed Finger 8 and deployed tanks, artillery and armoured vehicles. Concrete structures were erected. India protested, but when the Chinese did not relent, Indian troops came face to face with the Chinese troops.

The Chinese side had not expected the Indian side to react so strongly. After nine months of continuous diplomatic and military negotiations, the Chinese finally relented and agreed to a withdrawal. With Wednesday’s deal, the Chinese troops will now full pack from Finger 4 to Finger 8, where they were positioned earlier. The zone between Fingers 4 and 8 will become a buffer zone, a sort of no man’s land, where there shall be no patrolling.

The defence ministers of both India and China have announced that there has been an agreement, but Rahul Gandhi is unwilling to accept that. On Thursday, he promptly tweeted: “No status quo ante – No peace and tranquility. Why is GOI insulting the sacrifice of our jawans and letting go of our territory?” On Friday morning, he hurriedly called a press conference and said in his tweet “Traitors have cut off our Bharat Mata and handed over a piece to our enemy”. At the press conference, he alleged that Modi did not muster the courage to demand from the Chinese they returned from our territory which they had occupied in April last year.

I am surprised over Rahul Gandhi’s consistence in making absurd remarks. For the last nine months, he had been alleging that China has occupied several thousand sq. kilometres of our territory and Narendra Modi is afraid of even naming China.

On Feb 1 this year, he wrote, China has occupied Bharat bhoomi and martyred our jawans. A day earlier, he wrote, China is carrying on with occupying our territory, and “Mr 65 inch” has not even named China. Since May last year, Rahul has posted more than 40 tweets on the India-China standoff. In each one of his tweets, he alleged that China has occupied our territory.

It is very difficult to understand what Rahul Gandhi is trying to prove. Does he want to say that our jawans could not stop the Chinese? Is he raising questions about the valour of our jawans? Those brave jawans, who gave the supreme sacrifice to protect each inch of our land. I remember the date 8th of July, 2017, when Rahul met the Chinese ambassador and other officials secretly in Delhi, and at the same time, in Doklam, our jawans stood rock solid to prevent the Chinese from committing aggression. Rahul was taking a cue from the Chinese envoy, and questioning our own government and army. Since then, Rahul has been constantly questioning our government over India-China border issues.

The surprising part is that even while China is admitting that it has withdrawn its troops, and the visuals were flashed across the world, Rahul is still adamant. He is not ready to accept that the Chinese troops are pulling back.

Rahul is well within his rights to oppose Modi, but he must not forget ‘Rashtradharma’ (duty towards nation). At least on issues concerning national unity and integrity, and on issues concerning our armed forces, the whole nation must speak in one voice. This has been our tradition through centuries. When rajneeti (politics) and rashtraneeti (state policy) clash, he should give preference to ‘rashtraneeti’ over ‘rajneeti’. This has been Modi’s credo for the last six years.

अगर आप यह जानना चाहते हैं कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी किसानों के आंदोलन के बारे में क्या सोचते हैं, तो आपको वह भाषण सुनना चाहिए जो उन्होंने बुधवार को लोकसभा में दिया था। लोकसभा में दिए गए अपने 90 मिनट के इस भाषण में उन्होंने लोगों के इस संदेह को दूर करने की पूरी कोशिश की कि क्या नए कृषि कानूनों से मंडियों और एमएसपी सिस्टम का खात्मा हो जाएगा।

मोदी ने यह भी बताया कि नए कृषि कानूनों को मानने के लिए किसानों किसानों को मजबूर किया जाएगा या नहीं। उन्होंने उन आरोपों पर भी पलटवार किया जिनमें कहा गया था कि सरकार किसानों के आंदोलन को कुचलना चाहती है। प्रधानमंत्री ने इस बात का भी जिक्र किया कि कैसे किसानों के आंदोलन के नाम पर टोल प्लाजा और मोबाइल फोन टॉवर्स को नुकसान पहुंचाया गया। उन्होंने पूछा कि नक्सलियों की रिहाई और खालिस्तान के समर्थन में लहराए गए पोस्टरों का किसान आंदोलन से क्या लेना-देना है।

अपने प्राइम टाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में मैंने पिछले दो महीनों के दौरान कई बार बताया था कि किस तरह माओवादियों और जिहादियों का समर्थन करने वाले ‘टुकड़े-टुकड़े’ गैंग के लोग किसानों के बीच घुसपैठ कर चुके हैं। मैंने तब साफ-साफ कहा था कि किसानों के आंदोलन को हाइजैक करने की कोशिश की जा रही है। मोदी ने अपने भाषण में बताया कि किसानों के आंदोलन की पवित्रता को भंग करने के लिए ‘आंदोलनजीवी’ कैसी-कैसी कोशिशों में लगे हुए हैं।

उसी समय मैंने किसान नेताओं से इन हाइजैकर्स को आंदोलन से दूर रखने का आग्रह किया था, लेकिन नेताओं ने उनके प्रति नरम रुख अपनाया। अब वही किसान नेता कह रहे है कि गणतंत्र दिवस पर हिंसा करने वालों से उनका कोई लेना-देना नहीं है। लेकिन अब देर हो चुकी है। ‘आंदोलनजीवियों’ ने किसान नेताओं की छवि को धूमिल कर दिया है। इन सबके बावजूद प्रधानमंत्री ने बुधवार को कहा कि सरकार अभी भी दिल्ली के बॉर्डर्स पर धरने पर बैठे किसानों के मन से सभी शंकाओं दूर करने के लिए तैयार है।

मोदी ने एक बार फिर कहा कि कानून लागू हुए 6 महीने से ज्यादा का वक्त बीत चुका है, लेकिन न मंडियां खत्म हुईं, न MSP बंद हुई और न ही कॉरपोरेट ने किसी किसान की जमीन पर जबरन कब्जा किया। किसानों को सरकार पर भरोसा रखना चाहिए। यह कभी भी किसानों का अहित नहीं होने देगी।

जहां तक मुझे याद है, प्रधानमंत्री ने बुधवार को सातवीं बार ये बात कही है कि न मंडिया खत्म हुई हैं और न MSP बंद हुई है। बल्कि सरकार तो मंडियों को और मजबूत कर रही है, उनका आधुनिकीकरण कर रही है। जो लोग अपना उत्पाद मंडियो में ही बेचना चाहते हैं, उनके लिए मोदी ने कहा कि वे उसे वहां बेचने के लिए स्वतंत्र हैं और सरकार ने सिर्फ इतना ही किया है कि किसानों को अपनी इच्छा के मुताबिक उत्पाद बेचने के लिए कुछ और विकल्प दे दिए हैं।

इस सवाल पर कि किसानों ने कभी भी इन नए कानूनों की मांग नहीं की, मोदी ने कहा कि यह आमतौर पर एक पुरानी मानसिकता है। उन्होंने कहा, उनकी सरकार केवल मांग होने पर कानून बनाने की पुरानी मानसिकता पर यकीन नहीं करती है। उन्होंने कहा, ‘हम यथास्थिति पर भरोसा नहीं करते हैं। हम भविष्य की तरफ देखते हैं। हमने किसानों के भविष्य को देखते हुए ईमानदारी से ये निर्णय लिए हैं।’ इसके बाद मोदी ने पूछा, ‘इसके बाद मोदी ने पूछा, ‘क्या किसी ने तीन तलाक के उन्मूलन के लिए कानून बनाने के लिए कहा था? क्या किसी ने शिक्षा के अधिकार की मांग की थी? क्या किसी ने भोजन का अधिकार मांगा था? हम कानून तभी बनाएंगे जब कोई मांग करेगा, यह एक सामंती सोच है।’

कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी और वामपंथी दलों द्वारा लगाए गए आरोपों का जवाब देते हुए कि मोदी अंबानी और अडानी जैसे अपने ‘जिस तरह देश का पेट भरने के लिए किसान जरूरी हैं, उसी तरह हर हाथ को काम देने के लिए उद्योग और उद्योगपति जरूरी हैं। हम देश की प्रगति में निजी क्षेत्र के योगदान की उपेक्षा नहीं कर सकते।’

मोदी ने याद दिलाया कि कैसे प्राइवेट सेक्टर ने दुनिया में सबसे सस्ती दरों पर फोन, वॉइस और वीडियो डेटा उपलब्ध करवाकर टेलिकॉम सेक्टर का चेहरा बदल दिया है। उन्होंने कहा, ‘जब प्राइवेट सेक्टर आता है तो प्रतिस्पर्धा बढ़ती है और लोगों को उचित दर पर अच्छी क्वॉलिटी का सामान और सर्विस मिलती है। चाहे वह टेलिकॉम सेक्टर हो, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक गुड्स सेक्टर हो, ऑटोमोबाइल सेक्टर हो या टेक्सटाइल सेक्टर। हर जगह प्राइवेट कंपनियों के आने से फायदा तो आम लोगों को ही हुआ है। इससे लोगों को रोजगार भी मिला और उत्पादों एवं सेवाओं की कीमतें भी कम हुईं।’

मोदी ने कहा, ‘आजादी के बाद हमारे देश में 28 प्रतिशत भूमिहीन किसान थे। 10 साल पहले 2011 में जो जनगणना हुई, उसके मुतबिक इस वक्त देश में 58 प्रतिशत खेतिहर मजदूर हैं। इस दशा को बदलने की जरूरत है, और यह तब होगा जब यथास्थिति को बदला जाए। किसानों का जीवन सुधारने के लिए, छोटे किसानों को मजबूत करने के लिए, सिर्फ सरकारी फंड से, सरकार की निधि से काम नहीं चलेगा। कृषि क्षेत्र में निजी क्षेत्र से बड़े पैमाने पर फंड्स की जरूरत है, नई तरह की खेती को अपनाना होगा। निजी संस्थाएं भी देश की प्रगति में अहम भूमिका निभाती हैं इसलिए उन्हें कोसना, गाली देना ठीक नहीं।’

मोदी ने सही कहा। यदि प्राइवेट सेक्टर कृषि के क्षेत्र में प्रवेश करता है तो बुनियादी ढांचे में सुधार होगा, छोटे और सीमांत किसानों को बेहतर रोजगार मिलेगा और बड़े किसानों को उनकी फसलों के लिए ज्यादा कीमत मिलेगी। नए कृषि कानून एक औसत किसान को अपनी फसल पैदा करने और बेचने के लिए बेहतर विकल्प मिलेंगे।

सदन में उस समय शोर-शराबे का माहौल बन गया जब कांग्रेस के सांसदों ने प्रधानमंत्री के भाषण के समय टोका-टाकी शुरू कर दी। कांग्रेस सांसदों का हंगामा 20 मिनट से भी ज्यादा समय तक चलता रहा। जब शोर-शराबा करते हुए कांग्रेस सांसदों ने वॉकआउट कर दिया, उसके बाद ही प्रधानमंत्री अपना भाषण जारी रख पाए। हंगामे को देखकर मुझे बुरा लगा। आमतौर पर ये परंपरा है कि जब प्रधानमंत्री बोलते हैं, सदन में शान्ति होती है

मैंने मोदी को एक दिन पहले ही राज्यसभा में बोलते हुए देखा था। तब कांग्रेस नेता गुलाम नबी आजाद के विदाई भाषण को देते हुए 14 साल पहले की एक घटना को याद करके उनकी आंखों में आंसू आ गए थे। उस घटना के बारे में बात करते हुए दोनों नेताओं की आंखें छलक आई थीं। यह भारतीय लोकतंत्र की खूबसूरती है, और यही इसकी सबसे बड़ी ताकत है। उस समय दोनों तरफ से भावनाओं के ज्वार में एक गरिमा नजर आई, जब देश के नेता विपक्ष के नेता की तारीफ कर रहे थे और उनकी आंखों में आंसू थे। लोकसभा में स्थिति इसके विपरीत थी। राहुल गांधी के नेतृत्व में कांग्रेस सांसदों ने पीएम के जवाब सुनने का संयम नहीं दिखाया। मोदी ने बार-बार कहा भी, शुरू में हंसकर टालने की कोशिश की, लेकिन कांग्रेस के नेता नहीं माने। आखिर में राहुल गांधी ने कांग्रेस के सांसदों के साथ वॉकआउट कर दिया।

मोदी ने इसका जिक्र करते हुए कहा कि कांग्रेस एक ‘डिवाइडेड और कंफ्यूज पार्टी’ लग रही है। उन्होंने कहा, ‘देश की सबसे पुरानी राजनीतिक पार्टी कांग्रेस का हाल ऐसा हो गया है कि उसका राज्यसभा का तबका एक तरफ चलता है और लोकसभा का तबका दूसरी तरफ चलता है। ऐसी पार्टी न तो खुद का भला कर सकती है और न ही देश की समस्याओं के समाधान के लिए कुछ सोच सकती है।’

कांग्रेस के सांसदों को मोदी का पूरा भाषण सुनना चाहिए था। उन्हें पता चल जाता कि मोदी किसानों का सम्मान करते हैं, किसानों को विकल्प देना चाहते हैं कि या तो वे पुराने सिस्टम के साथ चलें या नए सिस्टम का विकल्प चुनें। मोदी ने किसानों के आंदोलन को प्रतिष्ठा का प्रश्न नहीं बनाया है। उन्होंने कहा कि उनकी सरकार अभी भी किसानों से बातचीत करने के लिए तैयार है। उन्होंने कहा, किसानों को आंदोलन करने का पूरा हक है, लेकिन उन्हें ‘आंदोलनकारी’ और ’आंदोलनजीवी’ के बीच का अंतर पता होना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि टोल प्लाजा तोड़े जाने, मोबाइल फोन टॉवर्स को नुकसान पहुंचाने और तिरंगे का अपमान करने की घटनाओं ने किसानों की छवि को नुकसान पहुंचाया है।

अब समय आ गया है कि किसान नेता तीनों कानूनों को निरस्त करने की अपनी मांग की अव्यवहारिकता को समझें, सरकार के साथ बातचीत शुरू करें और आंदोलन खत्म करें।

If you want to know what Prime Minister Narendra Modi thinks about the farmers’ movement, you should watch his speech in Lok Sabha on Wednesday. In his 90-minute speech in Lok Sabha, he sought to dispel all doubts about whether the new farm laws will lead to an end to ‘mandis’ and MSP system.

Modi also explained whether farmers will be compelled to accept the new farm laws or not. He also rebutted the charges that the government wanted to crush the farmers’ agitation. The Prime Minister mentioned how toll plazas and mobile phone towers were damaged in the name of farmers’ agitation. He questioned what posters demanding release of Naxalites and in support of Khalistan had to do with the farmers’ agitation.

In my prime time show ‘Aaj Ki Baat”, I had pointed out several times during the last two months how Khalistan supporters and those from the ‘tukde-tukde’ gang supporting Maoists and jihadis, had infiltrated the ranks of farmers. I had then clearly said that efforts were being made to hijack the farmers’ movement. In his speech, Modi described how efforts are being made by ‘andolanjeevis’ (professional protesters) to desecrate the sanctity of farmers’ movement.

At that time, I had urged farmer leaders to keep such hijackers away from the agitation, but the leaders adopted a soft stance towards them. Now the same farm leaders are admitting that they have nothing to do with those who indulged in violence on Republic Day. It is now too late to make amends. The ‘andolanjeevis’ have already sullied the image of farmer leaders. Despite all these, the Prime Minister on Wednesday said that the government was still ready to dispel all doubts from the minds of farmers who are still sitting on dharna on Delhi’s borders.

Modi pointed out that already six months have passed since the farm laws were enacted, neither the ‘mandis’ were abolished, nor MSP system was discontinued, nor any farmer’s land was forcibly occupied by any corporate. Farmers should trust the government. It will never act against their interests, now and in future.

As far as I remember, this was the seventh time when the Prime Minister said, ‘mandis’ will not be abolished. The government, on the contrary, is modernizing the ‘mandis’. To those who wanted to sell their produce in the ‘mandis’, Modi said, they were free to sell there and all that the government has done, was to provide them with options to sell them in other places if they wished to.

On the argument being made that the farmers had never wanted these new laws, Modi said, this is typically an old mindset. He said, his government does not believe in the old mindset of framing laws only if there is a demand. “We do not believe in status quo. We are forward looking. We have taken a decision with sincere intent looking towards the future of farmers”, he said. In a rhetorical flourish, Modi asked: “Did anybody ask for a law on abolition of triple talaq? Did anybody demand Right to Education? Did anybody demand Right to Food? This is a feudal mindset that we will make laws only when there is a demand.”

Replying to charges made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Left parties that Modi was working to help his “crony industrialists” like Ambani and Adani, the Prime Minister said, “Private sector is as much essential as the farmers who are our ‘annadatas’. Private sector industries are necessary to give jobs to millions of people. We cannot ignore the contribution of private sector to nation’s progress.”

He reminded how the private sector changed the face of telecom sector, providing phone, voice and video data at the cheapest rates in the world. “When private sector enters, competition increases and you get good quality goods and services at competitive rates. Whether it is the telecom sector, or electronic goods sector, or automobile sector or textile sector. In all these areas, the common man benefited with the entry of private sector. They brought jobs and cheaper services and products”, he said.

Modi said, at the time of independence, there were 28 per cent landless labourers, but during the 2011 census it was found that there were 58 per cent agricultural labourers working in India. We must change this, the status quo has to change. Only government assistance will not do. The agricultural sector needs a big infusion of funds from private sector, new types of farming will have to be adopted. Private entities also contribute much to nation’s progress and it would be wrong to abuse the private sector.”

Modi is right. If private sector enters the field of agriculture, infrastructure will improve, small and marginal farmers will get better jobs and big farmers will get more remunerative prices for their crops. The new farm laws will provide better advantages to the average farmer to grow and sell his crops.

The House witnessed noisy scenes when Congress MPs created a din when the Prime Minister spoke and caused a ruckus for more than 20 minutes. Only after the Congress MPs staged a noisy walkout, the Prime Minister continued with his speech. Watching the ruckus, I felt bad. It has been a long standing tradition in Parliament for members to listen to the speech of Prime Ministers in silence.

I had watched the PM speaking in Rajya Sabha a day before, when he had tears in his eyes when he recollected an incident 14 years ago, while giving a farewell speech to the Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad. Both the leaders had tears in their eyes when they narrated that incident. That was the beauty of Indian democracy, and in it lies its core strength. There was dignity from both sides, combined with emotion when the leader of the nation had tears in his eyes while praising the leader of the opposition. The situation was the opposite in Lok Sabha. The Congress MPs led by Rahul Gandhi did not show patience to listen to the PM’s arguments. Modi initially tried to smile and laugh away the barbs that were being thrown at him by Congress MPs, but they did not relent and finally Rahul led his party MPs in staging a walkout.

Modi referred to this and said Congress appears to be “a divided and confused party”. “The condition of Congress Party, the country’s oldest political party, is such that its Rajya Sabha unit moves in one direction and its Lok Sabha unit moves in another direction. Such a party can neither do any good for itself nor can it think of any solution to the nation’s problems”, Modi said.

The Congress MPs should have listened to the Prime Minister’s speech in full. They could have realized that Modi was offering options to farmers, whether to accept the old system or opt for a new one. Modi has not made the farmers’ stir a matter of prestige. He said, his government was still ready for talks with farmers. He said, he respected the rights of farmers to agitate, but they should know the difference between an ‘andolankari’ (protester) and an ‘andolanjeevi’(professional protester). He pointed out how because of attacks on toll plazas, mobile phone towers and the dishonour of national flag have tarnished the image of farmers.

It is time that the farmer leaders should realize the impracticality of their demand for repeal of the three laws, reopen talks with the government and bring the agitation to an end.
