As the world watched visuals of Chinese tanks doing a U-turn and moving back near Pangong lake on Thursday, every Indian had reason to smile as the nine-month-long standoff came to an end, except Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

On Friday morning, he called a press conference to allege that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has “ceded a portion of Indian territory to China” after the agreement on disengagement on troops from friction points at Pangong lake. Rahul Gandhi demanded that the status quo ante position in Ladakh that existed in April 2020 must be enforced. He also asked what happened about disengagement of troops from Depsang and Gogra Hot Springs.

Even a layman can answer Rahul Gandhi’s queries. What happened on Thursday was only the beginning of the disengagement process, and more rounds of talks will take place for disengagement of troops from other areas. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh clearly mentioned this in his statement in Parliament on Thursday.

Rajnath Singh said: “The Chinese side will keep its troop presence on the north bank area to east of Finger 8. Reciprocally, Indian troops will be based at their permanent base at Dhan Singh Thapa post near Finger 3. A similar action will be taken on the south bank area by both sides.” It has been decided that, as a temporary measure, pending resolution at the diplomatic levels there will be no patrolling in the Finger area. Before the Chinese intrusion, Indian troops used to patrol upto Finger 8. Probably, Rahul Gandhi is describing this as “ceding of Indian territory”, which is totally incorrect.

Rahul Gandhi must have watched images of Chinese tanks pulling back on Thursday on television. Within two days, the Chinese PLA withdrew more than 200 of its tanks, artillery and armoured vehicles from the southern bank of Pangong lake. The speed at which the Chinese troops pulled back their tanks and artillery was amazing, even for defence experts.

Moreover, Chinese PLA had deployed more than 100 heavy trucks at the northern bank of Finger 8 to pull back hundreds of troops from the frontline “friction points”. The disengagement deal was the outcome of talks between Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jayashankar and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval with their counterparts in China.

Overall, India has got a good deal, but challenges remain. The deal is significant because China failed to achieve its stragegic goal of asserting its political and military dominance on India. In his statement, Rajnath Singh clearly said, the agreement will see Indian and Chinese troops ceasing their forward deployments in a phased, coordinated and verified manner. The de-escalation which comes after 10 months of standoff will see the Chinese troops presence on the north bank restricted to east of Finger 8.

Rajnath Singh has said that as per the agreement reached, any structures built by both sides since April 2020 in north and south bank areas will be removed and landforms restored. A temporary moratorium on military activities by both sides on the north bank of Pangong lake has also been agreed upon, he said.

The entire disengagement process will take nearly two weeks to complete, and it appears Rahul Gandhi has jumped the gun. One must understand that there is still mutual mistrust as far as the ground situation is concerned and the verification process will be very much tricky.

The overall position is clear. India has managed to make the Chinese troops move back without giving away any inch of its territory. This disengagement process is similar to the disengagement and de-escalation that took place last year at Patrolling Point 14 in Galwan Valley, the scene of bloody clashes in which 20 Indian jawans laid down their lives and an undisclosed number of Chinese troops were killed.

Last year, the Chinese troops tried to transgress into Indian territory in Pangong lake. They had built a road up to Finger 4 and had set up tents, erected structures. It was only then that the Indian army made mirror deployment. Tanks of both armies faced each other. But now the situation has changed.

The Chinese have moved their tanks back from Finger 4 to their old position at Finger 8 in Sirijap sector. Our troops will also pull back to Dhan Singh Thapa post on the northern bank, and none of the troops will patrol the buffer zone. The same pullback with apply for the southern bank for both armies.

A senior commander level talks will take place within 48 hours of the completion of disengagement process. The Chinese side agreed for pullback only after sustained pressures from the Indian side. The Chinese side was told in no uncertain terms that they will have to restore status quo ante than existed in April 2020. When the ninth round of talks began, the Chinese army commander agreed to withdraw troops from Pangong lake. Without foregoing an inch of territory, India managed to persuade the Chinese side to pull back its troops. It was because of this that Rajnath Singh said in Parliament “humne kuch khoya nahin hai” (we haven’t lost anything).

Recall the situation that prevailed in October-November last year. Fighter jets were carrying out sorties in the skies of Ladakh, our new Rafale fighter aircraft had been deployed, more than 50,000 Indian troops had been deployed with tanks, artillery and armoured vehicles. It appeared as if the Indian armed forces were ready to give a big strike back, if the Chinese PLA miscalculated and committed aggression.

Our PM had gone to Ladakh to state clearly that “the martyrdom of our valiant jawans will not go in vain”. On the other hand, the Chinese government, true to its colours, was issuing threats and deploying more troops, tanks and jets overlooking Ladakh. But the Indian side did not bat its eyelid. The Chinese side was told in clear terms that a pullback was the only path towards restoring peace and tranquility. The Chinese army will have to withdraw, because it had entered no man’s land and claiming ownership. All the machinations from Chinese side had reached a dead end.

Let me explain, in simple words, the result of the latest agreement. In April last year, our troops were deployed at Finger 3 and 4 and had been patrolling upto Finger 8. The Chinese troops were deployed at Finger 8, and they used to patrol up to Finger 4. In May last year, the Chinese army crossed Finger 8 and deployed tanks, artillery and armoured vehicles. Concrete structures were erected. India protested, but when the Chinese did not relent, Indian troops came face to face with the Chinese troops.

The Chinese side had not expected the Indian side to react so strongly. After nine months of continuous diplomatic and military negotiations, the Chinese finally relented and agreed to a withdrawal. With Wednesday’s deal, the Chinese troops will now full pack from Finger 4 to Finger 8, where they were positioned earlier. The zone between Fingers 4 and 8 will become a buffer zone, a sort of no man’s land, where there shall be no patrolling.

The defence ministers of both India and China have announced that there has been an agreement, but Rahul Gandhi is unwilling to accept that. On Thursday, he promptly tweeted: “No status quo ante – No peace and tranquility. Why is GOI insulting the sacrifice of our jawans and letting go of our territory?” On Friday morning, he hurriedly called a press conference and said in his tweet “Traitors have cut off our Bharat Mata and handed over a piece to our enemy”. At the press conference, he alleged that Modi did not muster the courage to demand from the Chinese they returned from our territory which they had occupied in April last year.

I am surprised over Rahul Gandhi’s consistence in making absurd remarks. For the last nine months, he had been alleging that China has occupied several thousand sq. kilometres of our territory and Narendra Modi is afraid of even naming China.

On Feb 1 this year, he wrote, China has occupied Bharat bhoomi and martyred our jawans. A day earlier, he wrote, China is carrying on with occupying our territory, and “Mr 65 inch” has not even named China. Since May last year, Rahul has posted more than 40 tweets on the India-China standoff. In each one of his tweets, he alleged that China has occupied our territory.

It is very difficult to understand what Rahul Gandhi is trying to prove. Does he want to say that our jawans could not stop the Chinese? Is he raising questions about the valour of our jawans? Those brave jawans, who gave the supreme sacrifice to protect each inch of our land. I remember the date 8th of July, 2017, when Rahul met the Chinese ambassador and other officials secretly in Delhi, and at the same time, in Doklam, our jawans stood rock solid to prevent the Chinese from committing aggression. Rahul was taking a cue from the Chinese envoy, and questioning our own government and army. Since then, Rahul has been constantly questioning our government over India-China border issues.

The surprising part is that even while China is admitting that it has withdrawn its troops, and the visuals were flashed across the world, Rahul is still adamant. He is not ready to accept that the Chinese troops are pulling back.

Rahul is well within his rights to oppose Modi, but he must not forget ‘Rashtradharma’ (duty towards nation). At least on issues concerning national unity and integrity, and on issues concerning our armed forces, the whole nation must speak in one voice. This has been our tradition through centuries. When rajneeti (politics) and rashtraneeti (state policy) clash, he should give preference to ‘rashtraneeti’ over ‘rajneeti’. This has been Modi’s credo for the last six years.

अगर आप यह जानना चाहते हैं कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी किसानों के आंदोलन के बारे में क्या सोचते हैं, तो आपको वह भाषण सुनना चाहिए जो उन्होंने बुधवार को लोकसभा में दिया था। लोकसभा में दिए गए अपने 90 मिनट के इस भाषण में उन्होंने लोगों के इस संदेह को दूर करने की पूरी कोशिश की कि क्या नए कृषि कानूनों से मंडियों और एमएसपी सिस्टम का खात्मा हो जाएगा।

मोदी ने यह भी बताया कि नए कृषि कानूनों को मानने के लिए किसानों किसानों को मजबूर किया जाएगा या नहीं। उन्होंने उन आरोपों पर भी पलटवार किया जिनमें कहा गया था कि सरकार किसानों के आंदोलन को कुचलना चाहती है। प्रधानमंत्री ने इस बात का भी जिक्र किया कि कैसे किसानों के आंदोलन के नाम पर टोल प्लाजा और मोबाइल फोन टॉवर्स को नुकसान पहुंचाया गया। उन्होंने पूछा कि नक्सलियों की रिहाई और खालिस्तान के समर्थन में लहराए गए पोस्टरों का किसान आंदोलन से क्या लेना-देना है।

अपने प्राइम टाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में मैंने पिछले दो महीनों के दौरान कई बार बताया था कि किस तरह माओवादियों और जिहादियों का समर्थन करने वाले ‘टुकड़े-टुकड़े’ गैंग के लोग किसानों के बीच घुसपैठ कर चुके हैं। मैंने तब साफ-साफ कहा था कि किसानों के आंदोलन को हाइजैक करने की कोशिश की जा रही है। मोदी ने अपने भाषण में बताया कि किसानों के आंदोलन की पवित्रता को भंग करने के लिए ‘आंदोलनजीवी’ कैसी-कैसी कोशिशों में लगे हुए हैं।

उसी समय मैंने किसान नेताओं से इन हाइजैकर्स को आंदोलन से दूर रखने का आग्रह किया था, लेकिन नेताओं ने उनके प्रति नरम रुख अपनाया। अब वही किसान नेता कह रहे है कि गणतंत्र दिवस पर हिंसा करने वालों से उनका कोई लेना-देना नहीं है। लेकिन अब देर हो चुकी है। ‘आंदोलनजीवियों’ ने किसान नेताओं की छवि को धूमिल कर दिया है। इन सबके बावजूद प्रधानमंत्री ने बुधवार को कहा कि सरकार अभी भी दिल्ली के बॉर्डर्स पर धरने पर बैठे किसानों के मन से सभी शंकाओं दूर करने के लिए तैयार है।

मोदी ने एक बार फिर कहा कि कानून लागू हुए 6 महीने से ज्यादा का वक्त बीत चुका है, लेकिन न मंडियां खत्म हुईं, न MSP बंद हुई और न ही कॉरपोरेट ने किसी किसान की जमीन पर जबरन कब्जा किया। किसानों को सरकार पर भरोसा रखना चाहिए। यह कभी भी किसानों का अहित नहीं होने देगी।

जहां तक मुझे याद है, प्रधानमंत्री ने बुधवार को सातवीं बार ये बात कही है कि न मंडिया खत्म हुई हैं और न MSP बंद हुई है। बल्कि सरकार तो मंडियों को और मजबूत कर रही है, उनका आधुनिकीकरण कर रही है। जो लोग अपना उत्पाद मंडियो में ही बेचना चाहते हैं, उनके लिए मोदी ने कहा कि वे उसे वहां बेचने के लिए स्वतंत्र हैं और सरकार ने सिर्फ इतना ही किया है कि किसानों को अपनी इच्छा के मुताबिक उत्पाद बेचने के लिए कुछ और विकल्प दे दिए हैं।

इस सवाल पर कि किसानों ने कभी भी इन नए कानूनों की मांग नहीं की, मोदी ने कहा कि यह आमतौर पर एक पुरानी मानसिकता है। उन्होंने कहा, उनकी सरकार केवल मांग होने पर कानून बनाने की पुरानी मानसिकता पर यकीन नहीं करती है। उन्होंने कहा, ‘हम यथास्थिति पर भरोसा नहीं करते हैं। हम भविष्य की तरफ देखते हैं। हमने किसानों के भविष्य को देखते हुए ईमानदारी से ये निर्णय लिए हैं।’ इसके बाद मोदी ने पूछा, ‘इसके बाद मोदी ने पूछा, ‘क्या किसी ने तीन तलाक के उन्मूलन के लिए कानून बनाने के लिए कहा था? क्या किसी ने शिक्षा के अधिकार की मांग की थी? क्या किसी ने भोजन का अधिकार मांगा था? हम कानून तभी बनाएंगे जब कोई मांग करेगा, यह एक सामंती सोच है।’

कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी और वामपंथी दलों द्वारा लगाए गए आरोपों का जवाब देते हुए कि मोदी अंबानी और अडानी जैसे अपने ‘जिस तरह देश का पेट भरने के लिए किसान जरूरी हैं, उसी तरह हर हाथ को काम देने के लिए उद्योग और उद्योगपति जरूरी हैं। हम देश की प्रगति में निजी क्षेत्र के योगदान की उपेक्षा नहीं कर सकते।’

मोदी ने याद दिलाया कि कैसे प्राइवेट सेक्टर ने दुनिया में सबसे सस्ती दरों पर फोन, वॉइस और वीडियो डेटा उपलब्ध करवाकर टेलिकॉम सेक्टर का चेहरा बदल दिया है। उन्होंने कहा, ‘जब प्राइवेट सेक्टर आता है तो प्रतिस्पर्धा बढ़ती है और लोगों को उचित दर पर अच्छी क्वॉलिटी का सामान और सर्विस मिलती है। चाहे वह टेलिकॉम सेक्टर हो, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक गुड्स सेक्टर हो, ऑटोमोबाइल सेक्टर हो या टेक्सटाइल सेक्टर। हर जगह प्राइवेट कंपनियों के आने से फायदा तो आम लोगों को ही हुआ है। इससे लोगों को रोजगार भी मिला और उत्पादों एवं सेवाओं की कीमतें भी कम हुईं।’

मोदी ने कहा, ‘आजादी के बाद हमारे देश में 28 प्रतिशत भूमिहीन किसान थे। 10 साल पहले 2011 में जो जनगणना हुई, उसके मुतबिक इस वक्त देश में 58 प्रतिशत खेतिहर मजदूर हैं। इस दशा को बदलने की जरूरत है, और यह तब होगा जब यथास्थिति को बदला जाए। किसानों का जीवन सुधारने के लिए, छोटे किसानों को मजबूत करने के लिए, सिर्फ सरकारी फंड से, सरकार की निधि से काम नहीं चलेगा। कृषि क्षेत्र में निजी क्षेत्र से बड़े पैमाने पर फंड्स की जरूरत है, नई तरह की खेती को अपनाना होगा। निजी संस्थाएं भी देश की प्रगति में अहम भूमिका निभाती हैं इसलिए उन्हें कोसना, गाली देना ठीक नहीं।’

मोदी ने सही कहा। यदि प्राइवेट सेक्टर कृषि के क्षेत्र में प्रवेश करता है तो बुनियादी ढांचे में सुधार होगा, छोटे और सीमांत किसानों को बेहतर रोजगार मिलेगा और बड़े किसानों को उनकी फसलों के लिए ज्यादा कीमत मिलेगी। नए कृषि कानून एक औसत किसान को अपनी फसल पैदा करने और बेचने के लिए बेहतर विकल्प मिलेंगे।

सदन में उस समय शोर-शराबे का माहौल बन गया जब कांग्रेस के सांसदों ने प्रधानमंत्री के भाषण के समय टोका-टाकी शुरू कर दी। कांग्रेस सांसदों का हंगामा 20 मिनट से भी ज्यादा समय तक चलता रहा। जब शोर-शराबा करते हुए कांग्रेस सांसदों ने वॉकआउट कर दिया, उसके बाद ही प्रधानमंत्री अपना भाषण जारी रख पाए। हंगामे को देखकर मुझे बुरा लगा। आमतौर पर ये परंपरा है कि जब प्रधानमंत्री बोलते हैं, सदन में शान्ति होती है

मैंने मोदी को एक दिन पहले ही राज्यसभा में बोलते हुए देखा था। तब कांग्रेस नेता गुलाम नबी आजाद के विदाई भाषण को देते हुए 14 साल पहले की एक घटना को याद करके उनकी आंखों में आंसू आ गए थे। उस घटना के बारे में बात करते हुए दोनों नेताओं की आंखें छलक आई थीं। यह भारतीय लोकतंत्र की खूबसूरती है, और यही इसकी सबसे बड़ी ताकत है। उस समय दोनों तरफ से भावनाओं के ज्वार में एक गरिमा नजर आई, जब देश के नेता विपक्ष के नेता की तारीफ कर रहे थे और उनकी आंखों में आंसू थे। लोकसभा में स्थिति इसके विपरीत थी। राहुल गांधी के नेतृत्व में कांग्रेस सांसदों ने पीएम के जवाब सुनने का संयम नहीं दिखाया। मोदी ने बार-बार कहा भी, शुरू में हंसकर टालने की कोशिश की, लेकिन कांग्रेस के नेता नहीं माने। आखिर में राहुल गांधी ने कांग्रेस के सांसदों के साथ वॉकआउट कर दिया।

मोदी ने इसका जिक्र करते हुए कहा कि कांग्रेस एक ‘डिवाइडेड और कंफ्यूज पार्टी’ लग रही है। उन्होंने कहा, ‘देश की सबसे पुरानी राजनीतिक पार्टी कांग्रेस का हाल ऐसा हो गया है कि उसका राज्यसभा का तबका एक तरफ चलता है और लोकसभा का तबका दूसरी तरफ चलता है। ऐसी पार्टी न तो खुद का भला कर सकती है और न ही देश की समस्याओं के समाधान के लिए कुछ सोच सकती है।’

कांग्रेस के सांसदों को मोदी का पूरा भाषण सुनना चाहिए था। उन्हें पता चल जाता कि मोदी किसानों का सम्मान करते हैं, किसानों को विकल्प देना चाहते हैं कि या तो वे पुराने सिस्टम के साथ चलें या नए सिस्टम का विकल्प चुनें। मोदी ने किसानों के आंदोलन को प्रतिष्ठा का प्रश्न नहीं बनाया है। उन्होंने कहा कि उनकी सरकार अभी भी किसानों से बातचीत करने के लिए तैयार है। उन्होंने कहा, किसानों को आंदोलन करने का पूरा हक है, लेकिन उन्हें ‘आंदोलनकारी’ और ’आंदोलनजीवी’ के बीच का अंतर पता होना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि टोल प्लाजा तोड़े जाने, मोबाइल फोन टॉवर्स को नुकसान पहुंचाने और तिरंगे का अपमान करने की घटनाओं ने किसानों की छवि को नुकसान पहुंचाया है।

अब समय आ गया है कि किसान नेता तीनों कानूनों को निरस्त करने की अपनी मांग की अव्यवहारिकता को समझें, सरकार के साथ बातचीत शुरू करें और आंदोलन खत्म करें।

If you want to know what Prime Minister Narendra Modi thinks about the farmers’ movement, you should watch his speech in Lok Sabha on Wednesday. In his 90-minute speech in Lok Sabha, he sought to dispel all doubts about whether the new farm laws will lead to an end to ‘mandis’ and MSP system.

Modi also explained whether farmers will be compelled to accept the new farm laws or not. He also rebutted the charges that the government wanted to crush the farmers’ agitation. The Prime Minister mentioned how toll plazas and mobile phone towers were damaged in the name of farmers’ agitation. He questioned what posters demanding release of Naxalites and in support of Khalistan had to do with the farmers’ agitation.

In my prime time show ‘Aaj Ki Baat”, I had pointed out several times during the last two months how Khalistan supporters and those from the ‘tukde-tukde’ gang supporting Maoists and jihadis, had infiltrated the ranks of farmers. I had then clearly said that efforts were being made to hijack the farmers’ movement. In his speech, Modi described how efforts are being made by ‘andolanjeevis’ (professional protesters) to desecrate the sanctity of farmers’ movement.

At that time, I had urged farmer leaders to keep such hijackers away from the agitation, but the leaders adopted a soft stance towards them. Now the same farm leaders are admitting that they have nothing to do with those who indulged in violence on Republic Day. It is now too late to make amends. The ‘andolanjeevis’ have already sullied the image of farmer leaders. Despite all these, the Prime Minister on Wednesday said that the government was still ready to dispel all doubts from the minds of farmers who are still sitting on dharna on Delhi’s borders.

Modi pointed out that already six months have passed since the farm laws were enacted, neither the ‘mandis’ were abolished, nor MSP system was discontinued, nor any farmer’s land was forcibly occupied by any corporate. Farmers should trust the government. It will never act against their interests, now and in future.

As far as I remember, this was the seventh time when the Prime Minister said, ‘mandis’ will not be abolished. The government, on the contrary, is modernizing the ‘mandis’. To those who wanted to sell their produce in the ‘mandis’, Modi said, they were free to sell there and all that the government has done, was to provide them with options to sell them in other places if they wished to.

On the argument being made that the farmers had never wanted these new laws, Modi said, this is typically an old mindset. He said, his government does not believe in the old mindset of framing laws only if there is a demand. “We do not believe in status quo. We are forward looking. We have taken a decision with sincere intent looking towards the future of farmers”, he said. In a rhetorical flourish, Modi asked: “Did anybody ask for a law on abolition of triple talaq? Did anybody demand Right to Education? Did anybody demand Right to Food? This is a feudal mindset that we will make laws only when there is a demand.”

Replying to charges made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Left parties that Modi was working to help his “crony industrialists” like Ambani and Adani, the Prime Minister said, “Private sector is as much essential as the farmers who are our ‘annadatas’. Private sector industries are necessary to give jobs to millions of people. We cannot ignore the contribution of private sector to nation’s progress.”

He reminded how the private sector changed the face of telecom sector, providing phone, voice and video data at the cheapest rates in the world. “When private sector enters, competition increases and you get good quality goods and services at competitive rates. Whether it is the telecom sector, or electronic goods sector, or automobile sector or textile sector. In all these areas, the common man benefited with the entry of private sector. They brought jobs and cheaper services and products”, he said.

Modi said, at the time of independence, there were 28 per cent landless labourers, but during the 2011 census it was found that there were 58 per cent agricultural labourers working in India. We must change this, the status quo has to change. Only government assistance will not do. The agricultural sector needs a big infusion of funds from private sector, new types of farming will have to be adopted. Private entities also contribute much to nation’s progress and it would be wrong to abuse the private sector.”

Modi is right. If private sector enters the field of agriculture, infrastructure will improve, small and marginal farmers will get better jobs and big farmers will get more remunerative prices for their crops. The new farm laws will provide better advantages to the average farmer to grow and sell his crops.

The House witnessed noisy scenes when Congress MPs created a din when the Prime Minister spoke and caused a ruckus for more than 20 minutes. Only after the Congress MPs staged a noisy walkout, the Prime Minister continued with his speech. Watching the ruckus, I felt bad. It has been a long standing tradition in Parliament for members to listen to the speech of Prime Ministers in silence.

I had watched the PM speaking in Rajya Sabha a day before, when he had tears in his eyes when he recollected an incident 14 years ago, while giving a farewell speech to the Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad. Both the leaders had tears in their eyes when they narrated that incident. That was the beauty of Indian democracy, and in it lies its core strength. There was dignity from both sides, combined with emotion when the leader of the nation had tears in his eyes while praising the leader of the opposition. The situation was the opposite in Lok Sabha. The Congress MPs led by Rahul Gandhi did not show patience to listen to the PM’s arguments. Modi initially tried to smile and laugh away the barbs that were being thrown at him by Congress MPs, but they did not relent and finally Rahul led his party MPs in staging a walkout.

Modi referred to this and said Congress appears to be “a divided and confused party”. “The condition of Congress Party, the country’s oldest political party, is such that its Rajya Sabha unit moves in one direction and its Lok Sabha unit moves in another direction. Such a party can neither do any good for itself nor can it think of any solution to the nation’s problems”, Modi said.

The Congress MPs should have listened to the Prime Minister’s speech in full. They could have realized that Modi was offering options to farmers, whether to accept the old system or opt for a new one. Modi has not made the farmers’ stir a matter of prestige. He said, his government was still ready for talks with farmers. He said, he respected the rights of farmers to agitate, but they should know the difference between an ‘andolankari’ (protester) and an ‘andolanjeevi’(professional protester). He pointed out how because of attacks on toll plazas, mobile phone towers and the dishonour of national flag have tarnished the image of farmers.

It is time that the farmer leaders should realize the impracticality of their demand for repeal of the three laws, reopen talks with the government and bring the agitation to an end.

संसद में मंगलवार को राजनीति का वह चेहरा देखने को मिला जिसका मुझे हमेशा इंतजार रहता है। इस दिन देश के सबसे बड़े नेता ने विरोधी दल के नेता को विदाई देते हुए उनकी संवेदना को याद करके आंसू बहाए।

मंगलवार को कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेताओं में से एक और राज्यसभा में विपक्ष के नेता गुलाम नबी आजाद की विदाई का दिन था। उनके लिए दिए गए अपने भाषण में प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 14 साल पहले श्रीनगर में हुए एक आतंकवादी हमले को याद किया, जब आजाद जम्मू-कश्मीर के मुख्यमंत्री थे। आतंकवादियों ने गुजरात के पर्यटकों को ले जा रही एक बस पर ग्रेनेड फेंका था, जिसमें 4 पर्यटकों की मौत हो गई थी।

मोदी तब गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री थे। मोदी ने मंगलवार को कहा, ‘इस घटना के बाद सबसे पहले गुलाम नबी जी ने मुझे फोन किया था। उस फोन कॉल के दौरान वह लगातार रोते रहे। आजाद जी और प्रणब जी ने घटना में मारे गए लोगों के शवों को सेना के विमान से भेजने के लिए जितने प्रयास किए थे, वह मैं कभी नहीं भूलूंगा।’ आजाद उस दौरान खुद एयरपोर्ट गए थे, हमले में अपने लोगों को खो चुके परिवारों से उन्होंने हाथ जोड़कर माफी मांगी थी और और प्लेन के गुजरात पहुंचने तक मोदी के संपर्क में रहे।

जब आजाद ने बताया कि कैसे उन्होंने मोदी को फोन किया और उनसे कहा कि वह हमले में मारे गए बच्चों के मां-बाप का सामना आखिर कैसे करेंगे, तो उनकी आंखों में आंसू थे। आजाद ने कहा, ‘वे यहां घूमने-फिरने के लिए आए थे और मैं उनके परिजनो की लाशों को वापस भेज रहा हूं।’

मोदी ने कहा, ‘उनके (आजाद) आंसू नहीं रुक रहे थे, उन्होंने मुझसे परिवार के किसी सदस्य की तरह बात की। सत्ता आती और जाती है, लेकिन बहुत कम लोगों को इसे पचाना आता है। एक मित्र के रूप में घटना और अनुभवों के आधार पर मैं उनका आदर करता हूं।’ जब दोनों नेता भावनाओं से भरे हुए ये भाषण दे रहे थे तो पूरा सदन खामोश होकर सुन रहा था। सदन के सदस्य मोदी और आजाद की स्नेह भरी बातें सुनकर मेजें थपथपा रहे थे।

जो लोग मोदी को करीब से नहीं जानते उन्हें मंगलवार को मोदी की आंखों में आंसू देखकर आश्चर्य हो सकता है, लेकिन मैं अच्छे से जानता हूं कि मोदी ऊपर से जितने सख्त दिखते हैं, दिल के उतने ही नरम हैं और काफी इमोशनल हैं। जब बात जिम्मेदारी की हो, जब बात ड्यूटी की हो. तो मोदी सख्त प्रशासक होते हैं। लेकिन जब बात रिश्तों की हो, जनता के दुख दर्द की हो तो मोदी भावुक हो जाते हैं। मैंने कई बार उनकी आंखों में आंसू देखे हैं। बहुत-सी ऐसी घटनाएं हैं जब मैंने उन्हें भावुक होते हुए देखा है।

मंगलवार को आजाद की तारीफ करते हुए मोदी ने कहा कि कि गुलाम नबी आजाद भले ही सदन से रिटायर हो गए हों, लेकिन वह देश की बेहतरी के लिए काम करते रहेंगे। मोदी ने कहा, ‘वह भले ही राज्यसभा के मेंबर न रहें, लेकिन प्रधानमंत्री के घर के दरवाजे उनके लिए हमेशा खुले रहेंगे।’

मैं नरेंद्र मोदी को पिछले 40 साल से जानता हूं, और गुलाम नबी आजाद को भी तब से जानता हूं जब वो यूथ कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष थे और मैं एक रिपोर्टर था। अपने व्यक्तिगत अनुभवों के आधार पर मैं कह सकता हूं कि ये दोनों नेता भले ही सियासत के कितने भी चतुर खिलाड़ी हों, लेकिन जब आपसी रिश्तों की बात आती है तो दोनों हमेशा दिल हारने को तैयार रहते हैं। दोनों भावनाओं से भरे हैं, नरम दिल के हैं और दूसरों को कष्ट में नहीं देख सकते।

कुछ लोग यह कह सकते हैं कि मोदी को इस तरह राज्यसभा में सार्वजनिक रूप से आंसू नहीं बहाने चाहिए थे, क्योंकि रोना कमजोरी की निशानी है। लेकिन मुझे लगता है कि प्रधानमंत्री भी तो इंसान हैं, उनमें भी भावनाएं हैं और जब भावनाओं के समंदर में ज्वार उठाता है तो उसका बह जाना ही ठीक है। जब मंगलवार को मोदी के आंसू निकले तो इससे देश को कम से कम ये तो पता लगा कि उनका नेता निश्छल है, उसके सीने में भी एक दिल धड़कता है। देश के लोग यह तो जान गए कि उनका नेता विरोधियों का सम्मान करना, और व्यक्तिगत रिश्तों को निभाना जानता है। वह विरोधियों की तीखी आलोचना भूलना जानता है, और जो देश के लिए अच्छा है उसे डंके की चोट पर अच्छा कहना जानता है।

यही हमारे देश के लोकतन्त्र की ताकत है, यही मजबूती है। यहां विरोध का मतलब व्यक्तिगत दुश्मनी या बैर नहीं है। सब के लिए लोकतंत्र पहले है, देश पहले है। इसीलिए मंगलवार को गुलाम नबी आजाद ने कहा कि वह मुसलमान हैं, पक्के मुसलमान हैं और उन्हें फक्र है कि वह हिन्दुस्तानी मुसलमान हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि दुनिया में मुसलमानों के लिए हिंदुस्तान से बेहतर, हिंदुस्तान से महफूज कोई और जगह नहीं है। आजाद ने कहा, ‘पाकिस्तान की हालत देखता हूं तो मैं खुद को खुशकिस्मत मानता हूं कि पाकिस्तान नहीं गया। अपने हिंदुस्तानी मुसलमान होने पर फख्र होता है। दुनियाभर में सबसे ज्यादा गर्व हिंदुस्तानी मुसलमान को होना चाहिए। मुस्लिम देशों की हालत खराब हो रही है। वे आपस में ही लड़कर खत्म हो रहे हैं।’

जो लोग देश में मुसलमानों को भड़काने की कोशिश करते हैं, मुसलमानों को डराने की कोशिश करते हैं, उन्हें गुलाम नबी आजाद की ये बात बार-बार सुननी चाहिए। गुलाम नबी आजाद ने कहा कि वह जम्मू के उस इलाके से आते हैं जहां मुसलमानों की संख्या सबसे ज्यादा है, लेकिन उन्हें इस बात को गर्व है कि स्टूडेंट पॉलिटिक्स के टाइम से ही उन्हें हिंदू कश्मीरी पंडितों के 100 प्रतिशत वोट मिले। गुलाम नबी कहा कि लेकिन जब जब वह कश्मीरी पंडितों के दर्द के बारे में सोचते हैं, पुराने दिनों को याद करते हैं तो बहुत तकलीफ होती है। वह चाहते हैं घाटी में दहशतगर्दी का खात्मा हो, उजड़े आशियाने फिर बसें और विस्थापित कश्मीरी पंडित फिर अपने घरों को वापस लौटें।

गुलाम नबी आजाद सच्चे देशभक्त हैं। जब वह जम्मू कश्मीर के मुख्यमंत्री थे, तब मैंने उन्हें आंतकवाद का बड़ी हिम्मत से मुकाबला करते हुए देखा है। मुझे याद है कि एक दिन मैं श्रीनगर में उनके घर पर था। हम लंच करने के लिए टेबल पर बैठे ही थे कि फोन पर आतंकवादी हमले की खबर मिली। हम दोनों ने अपना खाना छोड़ा और वहां पहुंचे जहां एनकाउंटर हुआ था। मैं उनके साथ खड़ा था और वह पुलिसवालों से घटना के बारे में जानकारी ले रहे थे कि तभी अचानक गोलियों की आवाज आई। पता चला कुछ आंतकवादी पास की बिल्डिंग में छुपे हुए थे। सिक्यॉरिटी वालों ने लगभग जबरदस्ती करके आजाद को गाड़ी में बैठाया और हमें वहां से जाने के लिए कहा। आजाद ने उनसे कहा कि आप अपना काम करें, लेकिन कोई दहशतगर्द बचना नहीं चाहिए। उन्होंने पुलिस वालों से कहा, ‘मैं आपके साथ चट्टान की तरह खड़ा हूं।’

मैं आज भी वह मंजर याद करता हूं तो आजाद को सलाम करने को जी चाहता है। आजाद जैसे नेताओं ने आतंकवाद को खत्म करने के लिए संघर्ष किया और पिछले 6 साल में नरेंद्र मोदी ने आतंकवादियों के सीने में मौत का खौफ भर दिया है। घाटी के हालात में बड़ा बदलाव आया है, और राज्यसभा में इस बात की तारीफ किसी और ने नहीं बल्कि महबूबा मुफ्ती की पीपुल्स डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी के एक सांसद ने की। मीर मोहम्मद फैयाज ने उज्ज्वला और विकास की अन्य योजनाओं को जम्मू-कश्मीर में लाने के लिए केंद्र सरकार की तरीफ की। उन्होंने इस बात की भी तारीफ की कि केंद्र सरकार के मंत्रियों ने कश्मीर के किसी काम के लिए मना नहीं किया। उन्होंने कहा, कश्मीर में अब तरक्की आ रही है और जनप्रतिनिधियों के साथ-साथ स्थानीय अधिकारियो को विभिन्न योजाओं के लिए ज्यादा फंड मिल रहा है।

पीडीपी चीफ महबूबा मुफ्ती ने 5 अगस्त, 2019 को जम्मू-कश्मीर में अनुच्छेद 370 को समाप्त किए जाने पर बेहद कड़ी चेतावनी देते हुए ठीक विपरीत बात कही थी। उन्होंने तब कहा था कि अगर आर्टिकल 370 हटा तो कश्मीर में तिरंगा उठाने वाला कोई नहीं मिलेगा और खून की नदियां बह जाएंगी। पर आज कश्मीर में विकास की लहर दिखाई दे रही है। आज 4G इंटरनेट सर्विस वापस आ गई है, स्कूल और कॉलेज खुलने लगे हैं, अस्पताल और सड़कें बेहतर हालत में हैं। लोगों को बिजली-पानी मिले, रोजगार मिले, इस दिशा में काम शुरू हो चुका है।

सबने माना कि कश्मीर में डिवेलपमेंट काउंसिल के चुनावों में किसी तरह की गड़बड़ी नहीं हुई, और अब कश्मीर में जम्हूरियत, कश्मीरियत और इंसानियत देखने को मिल रही है। मुझे पूरा यकीन है कि अब वह दिन भी जल्दी ही आएगा जब कश्मीर के नौजवानों के एक हाथ में राइफलों की जगह लैपटॉप होंगे, कश्मीरी पंडित बेखौफ होकर अपने घर लौट सकेंगे और कश्मीर के मंदिरों में घंटियों की गूंज सुनाई देगी। तब कश्मीर के लोगों को इस बात पर गर्व होगा कि वे हमारे महान देश का हिस्सा हैं। पूरे हिंदुस्तान को उस दिन का इंतजार है और मुझे यकीन है कि वह दिन जल्दी आएगा।

Parliament was witness to poignant scenes of emotion on Tuesday when the nation’s tallest leader had tears in his eyes when he was bidding farewell to the leader of the opposition. This was a unique moment which I was praying for, since decades.

It was a day of farewell for Ghulam Nabi Azad, one of the senior Congress leaders and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha. In his speech bidding adieu to Azad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recollected a terror attack that took place in Srinagar 14 years ago, when Azad was the chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir. Terrorists had lobbed a grenade at a bus carrying tourists from Gujarat, in which four tourists died.

Modi was then the chief minister of Gujarat. On Tuesday, Modi said:“Ghulam Nabi ji was the first to call me after the incident. During that call he could not stop crying…I will never forget the efforts made by Azad ji and Pranab Ji in sending the bodies of those killed in an army transport aircraft to Gujarat.” At that time, Azad had personally gone to the airport, sought forgiveness from the surviving tourists and stayed in touch with Modi till the aircraft reached Gujarat.

Azad had tears in his eyes when he narrated how he called Modi and told him how he would face the parents of the children who died in the attack. “They had come here for tourism and I am sending back the bodies of their loved ones”, said Azad

Modi said: “He (Azad) could not stop crying, he talked to me like a family member. Power comes and goes but very few know how to handle it. I respect him as a friend because what he had done over these years.” The entire House watched in stunned silence as both the top leaders made emotional speeches. Members thumped their desks in appreciation of the words of affection from both Modi and Azad.

People who have never seen Modi weeping may have been surprised over Tuesday’s incident, but I know it for sure that though Modi appear tough on surface, he has a soft heart that can sway with emotion. Modi is always tough when duty beckons. At such times, he is a tough administrator and a negotiator. But in matters of relationships and in situations where the needy require help, Modi becomes emotional. I have seen tears in Modi’s eyes several times in the past when he was overcome with emotion.

On Tuesday, Modi, while praising Azad, said though he may have retired but he would continue to work for the betterment of the nation. “He may not continue as member of Rajya Sabha, but the doors of Prime Minister’s residence will always remain open for him”, Modi said.

I know Narendra Modi for the last 40 years, and I have known Ghulam Nabi Azad since the time when he was the chief of Indian Youth Congress. I was then a reporter. Based on my personal experience with both the leaders, I can certainly say that even though both of them are shrewd political players, but when matters of relationships arise, heart rules over mind. Both of them have soft corners in their hearts and they often become emotional.

Some critics may question why Modi wept publicly in Rajya Sabha, because a Prime Minister should never appear weak by shedding tears in public. But, I believe, a Prime Minister is also a human being, and if one is overcome with waves of emotion, it is better to allow tears to provide a channel for emotion. At least, on Tuesday, the nation came to know that the Prime Minister has a soft heart inside, he knows how to offer respect to those in the Opposition, and how he values personal relationships. He has a large heart to face the most vitriolic attack from the opposition, and has also the strength to say what is right for the nation.

This is the inherent strength of our strong democracy, where dissent is not translated into personal enmity. The nation is first and foremost, our democracy should rule supreme. That is why, on Tuesday, Ghulam Nabi Azad said, he was proud to be an Indian Muslim and there is no place on earth except India, that is the safest for Muslims. Azad said, “When I look at Pakistan, I feel how fortunate are we. We feel proud to be Indian Muslims because there are many Islamic countries which are racked with infightings among Muslims. They are destroying themselves.”

Those who try to instigate and instil fear among Muslims in India must watch what Azad said in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. Azad said, he comes from a place in Jammu region in a state where Muslims are in majority, but whenever he contested student union elections, he got 100 per cent votes from Hindu Kashmiri Pandits. But when he finds the conditions in which Kashmiri Pandits are living, he has a feeling of sorrow for them. He wants that militancy should end with the Valley and the Pandits must return to their homes.

Ghulam Nabi Azad is a true patriot. I recall an incident that took place when he was the CM. He had invited me over lunch. At lunch, he got information that there had been a terrorist attack and an encounter was in progress. Both of us left the lunch and left for the scene of encounter. Even as the chief minister was taking updates from his officials, shots rang out from inside a building, and security personnel practically forced the CM to sit in his vehicle and leave. Azad told the officials to carry on with their task, and that not a single terrorist must survive. “I stand with you like a rock”, he told the police officers.

Today, when I recollect that incident, I want to salute Azad for his exemplary work. Leaders like Azad fought militancy over the years, and in the last six years, it is Modi who has struck fear in the hearts of terrorists. The situation in the Valley has undergone a major transformation, and the praise came from none other than an MP from Mehbooba Mufti’s People’s Democratic Party in Rajya Sabha. Mir Mohammed Fayaz, praised the Centre for bringing Ujjwala and other developmental schemes to Jammu and Kashmir. He appreciated the fact that Union Ministers were now listening to the issues concerning the state. He said, Kashmir was now witnessing major strides in development and people’s representatives and local officials were now getting more funds for different schemes.

Contrast this with the dire warning that PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti gave when Article 370 was abolished in Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019. She had then said that rivers of blood will flow in the valley and there will not be a single person to carry the tricolour. Today 4G internet service is back, schools and colleges are reopening, hospitals and roads are in better shape, and work is going on fast to provide jobs, electricity and water to the people.

There were free and fair elections for District Development Councils recently, and the atmosphere is now ripe for ‘Jamhooriyat, Kashmriyat, Insaaniyat’. I am sure the days will soon return when the youths of Kashmir will hold laptops in their hands, instead of rifles, Kashmiri Pandits will be able to return to their homes and one can hear the bells ringing in temples throughout the Valley. The people of Kashmir will then say with pride that they are part of our great nation.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने सोमवार को नए कृषि कानूनों के मुद्दे पर विपक्ष की तरफ से उठाए गए ज्यादातर सवालों के जवाब दिए। मोदी ने उन सारे सवालों के जवाब दिए जो उनके विरोधी कई दिनों से पूछ रहे थे। आज मोदी ने उस झूठ का पर्दाफाश किया जो किसान आंदोलन के नाम पर कई दिनों से फैलाया जा रहा था।

उनके आलोचकों ने कई सवाल उठाए। क्या MSP खत्म हो जाएगी? क्या मंडियां बंद हो जाएंगी? क्या किसानों की जमीन उनसे छीन ली जाएगी? क्या कान्ट्रैक्ट फ़ार्मिंग के जरिए उद्योगपति किसानों पर हावी हो जाएंगे? क्या नए कानून आने के बाद किसान व्यापारियों के गुलाम हो जाएंगे? क्या मोदी सरकार छोटे किसानों को खत्म कर देगी, सिर्फ बड़े किसान बचेंगे? क्या मोदी किसानों की कीमत पर उद्योगपतियों का फायदा चाहते हैं?

सवाल यह भी उठ रहे थे कि अगर ये कानून किसानों के फायदे के लिए हैं तो किसान 75 दिन से धरने पर क्यों बैठे हैं? वो कौन सी ताकतें हैं जो किसानों और सरकार के बीच समझौता नहीं होने देना चाहतीं? क्या किसानों के बीच ऐसे लोग घुस गए हैं जो आंदोलन को खत्म नहीं होने देना चाहते? अगर सबकुछ ठीक-ठाक है तो फिर दुनियाभर में किसान आंदोलन को लेकर भारत की बदनामी क्यों हो रही है? सवाल तो ये भी था कि सिख और जाट किसान पीएम से नाराज क्यों हैं? क्या किसानों को लेकर सरकार का रवैया तानाशाही से भरा है।

पीएम मोदी ने सबकुछ सुना, देखा और सोमवार को राज्यसभा में एक साथ सारे जबाव दे दिए। उन्होंने सारे हिसाब बराबर कर दिए। जो लोग जवाब मांग रहे थे, उन्हें सवालों के घेरे में खड़ा कर दिया।

प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने सबसे पहले एमएसपी और मंडियों की बात की। उन्होंने कहा, 1.एमएसपी थी, एमएसपी है और एमएसपी रहेगी। 2. राशन की दुकानों से गरीबों को अनाज देने का काम जारी रहेगा। सरकारी मंडिया जारी रहेंगी और आधुनिक होंगी। इससे प्रतिस्पर्धा बढ़ेगी तो मंडियों में सुधार होगा। 3. इस कानून में ऐसा कोई प्रावधान नहीं है जिससे किसानों की जमीन पर कब्जा होने की आशंका हो। उन्होंने कहा कि यह झूठ फैलाया जा रहा है कि औद्योगिक घराने किसानों की जमीन हड़प लेंगे।

पीएम मोदी ने कहा कि किसानों की जमीन पर कोई कब्जा कैसे कर सकता है? उन्होंने उदाहरण देकर फिर समझाया और बताया कि दूध का व्यापार किसान ही करते हैं। कृषि क्षेत्र के व्यापार में डेयरी प्रोडक्ट्स की भागीदारी 28 प्रतिशत है। किसान जहां चाहें, जिसे चाहें दूध बेच सकते हैं। किसी तरह की कोई पाबंदी नहीं है, तो क्या कोई कंपनी वाला किसान की भैंस जबरन खोल ले गया? इसी तरह अगर किसान कंपनियों के साथ सीधे व्यापार (कॉन्ट्रैक्ट फॉर्मिंग) करेंगे तो उनकी जमीन को भी कोई खतरा नहीं होगा।

पीएम मोदी ने कहा उनकी सरकार जो कर रही है वह छोटे किसानों के हित में हैं। इससे छोटे और सीमांत किसानों को फायदा होगा। उन्होंने कहा कि अब तक किसानों के नाम पर जो कुछ किया गया उसका फायदा बड़े किसानों को मिला है, जबकि देश में 86 प्रतिशत छोटे किसान ऐसे हैं जिनके पास 2 हेक्टेयर से भी कम जमीन है। ये वे किसान है जिनके लिए अब तक कुछ नहीं किया गया। मोदी ने सवाल किया, क्या इन किसानों का ख्याल रखना सरकार की जिम्मेदारी नहीं है?

किसानों के इस आंदोलन में ज्यादातर किसान पंजाब से हैं और आंदोलन की तस्वीरें फैलाकर ये कहा गया कि सिखों के साथ अन्याय हो रहा है। सरकार सिखों पर जुल्म कर रही है और मोदी सिखों का सम्मान नहीं करते। इसीलिए मोदी ने अपने भाषण में खासतौर पर सिखों का जिक्र किया। उन्होंने कहा कि सिखों ने देश के लिए जो किया उस पर देश को नाज है। देश सिखों का सम्मान करता है। इसलिए किसान आंदोलन को लेकर जो लोग सिखों के खिलाफ अपमानजनक शब्दों का इस्तेमाल करते हैं वो ठीक नहीं हैं, क्योंकि सिखों ने सेवा और बहादुरी की मिसाल पेश की है।

किसान संगठनों के इस आंदोलन के पीछे कांग्रेस और लेफ्ट की ताकत है। कांग्रेस पर्दे के पीछे है लेकिन वामपंथी दल खुलकर साथ दे रहे हैं। इसीलिए पीएम मोदी ने कम्युनिस्टों की बात की और लाल बहादुर शास्त्री के जमाने का उदाहरण दिया। मोदी ने कहा कि देश में हरित क्रांति ऐसे ही नहीं हुई। शास्त्री जी को भारी विरोध झेलना पड़ा। उस वक्त कोई कृषि मंत्री बनने को तैयार नहीं होता था लेकिन शास्त्री जी ने हिम्मत नहीं हारी। उस वक्त वामपंथी शास्त्री जी को ‘अमेरिका का एजेंट’ बताते थे। अब वही कम्युनिस्ट फिर कह रहे हैं कि मोदी ने अमेरिका के इशारे पर कृषि कानून बनाया है।

इस बात में तो कोई दो राय नहीं है कि किसान आंदोलन में कम्युनिस्ट पूरी तरह ऐक्टिव हैं। महाराष्ट्र, पंजाब, मध्य प्रदेश और राजस्थान के वामपंथी संगठनों के कार्यकर्ता किसान आंदोलन में सक्रिय हैं। इसीलिए पीएम मोदी ने वाम दलों का जिक्र किया। इसके अलावा आपने देखा होगा कि टुकड़े-टुकडे़ गैंग के सदस्य़, कभी शाहीन बाग के धरनेबाज, कभी जेएनयू में आजादी के नारे लगाने वाले तो कभी जामिया मिलिया का गैंग किसान आंदोलन में दिखाई दिया। हालांकि किसान संगठनों के नेताओं ने बार-बार खुद को इन लोगों से अलग किया लेकिन फिर भी ये लोग बार-बार वहां पहुंचे। पीएम मोदी ने इन लोगों से सावधान रहने को कहा और इस तरह के आंदोलनकारियों को एक नया नाम दिया-‘आंदोलनजीवी’। पीएम मोदी ने कहा कि दो चीजों से सावधान रहना है-एक, आंदोलनजीवियों से और दूसरा एफडीआई यानि फॉरेन डिस्ट्रक्टिव आइडियोलॉजी से।

लाल किले पर हुई हिंसा और तिरंगे के अपमान के बाद दिल्ली के बॉर्डर पर दिल्ली पुलिस ने एहतियाती कदम उठाते हुए बैरीकेडिंग को मजबूत किया, कंक्रीट की दीवारें बनाईं। ट्रैक्टर फिर से दिल्ली में घुसकर उत्पात न मचा सकें, इसलिए सड़क पर टायर पंचर करने वाली कीलें लगाईं, कंटीले तार लगाए। भारत को बदनाम करने के लिए इन बैरिकेड्स की तस्वीरों को दुनियाभर में फैलाया गया। इस आरोप के साथ कि मोदी भारत में लोकतंत्र का गला घोंट रहे हैं, ऐसा परसेप्शन बनाने की कोशिश की गई कि किसानों का दमन किया जा रहा है किसी को अपनी बात कहने का हक नहीं है।

अपने ऊपर लगे आरोपों का जवाब देते हुए प्रधानमंत्री ने सुभाष चंद्र बोस की बात याद दिलाई। उन्होंने कहा, भारत सिर्फ दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा लोकतंत्र नहीं है, बल्कि यह ‘लोकतंत्र की जननी’ है। मोदी ने कहा कि हिंदुस्तान में लोकतंत्र एक व्यवस्था नहीं, बल्कि भारतीयों की जीवनशैली है, संस्कृति का हिस्सा है।

कुल मिलाकर मोदी ने अपने अंदाज में विपक्ष और किसान नेताओं द्वारा हाल के हफ्तों में उठाए गए अधिकांश सवालों के ठोस और कन्विंसिंग जवाब दिए। लेकिन जो लोग सुनना नहीं चाहते, मानना नहीं चाहते, उन्हें कोई नहीं समझा सकता।

मुझे हैरानी होती है जब लोग कहते हैं कि मोदी ने किसानों के आंदोलन को सही तरीके से हैंडल नहीं किया। इनमें से कई मोदी समर्थक भी हैं जो कहते हैं कि इस मुद्दे को बेहतर तरीके से हैंडल किया जा सकता था।

सवाल ये है कि क्या किसान नेताओं से इस मुद्दे पर 11 बार बात करना मिसहैंडलिंग है? सोमवार को भी प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि बातचीत के रास्ते खुले हैं, क्या ये मिसहैंडलिंग है? क्या किसानों से ये कहना कि MSP नहीं हटेगी, मंडियां बनी रहेंगी, किसानों को ज्यादा दाम मिलेंगे, मिसहैंडलिंग है? किसानों से ये कहना कि वे जो भी संशोधन करना चाहते हैं, उस पर विचार हो सकता है, ये मिसहैंडलिंग है? किसानों को ये ऑफर देना कि 18 महीनों के लिए तीनों कानूनों को होल्ड पर रखा जा सकता है, क्या ये मिसहैंडलिंग है? प्रधानमंत्री ने बार-बार किसानों को समझाया, उनसे कहा कि सुनी-सुनाई बातों पर मत जाइए, इन कानूनों को एक मौका दीजिए, क्या इसे मिसहैंडलिंग कहा जाएगा?

क्या पुलिस को ये कहना कि किसानों पर लाठी गोली नहीं चलानी है, मिसहैंडलिंग है? लाल किले पर तिंरगे का अपमान हुआ, लेकिन पुलिस खामोश रही, 300 से ज्यादा पुलिसवाले घायल हुए फिर भी पुलिस ने गोली नहीं चलाई, क्या ये मिसहैंडलिंग है? जब लगा कि सरकार को सिख विरोधी बताकर कुछ लोग सिखों की भावनाओं को भड़का रहे हैं तो प्रधानमंत्री ने साफ-साफ कहा कि सिख गुरुओं के महान बलिदानों का वे सम्मान करते हैं, क्या ये मिसहैंडलिंग है?

मैंने अपनी आंखों के सामने इतिहास को घटित होते हुए देखा है। मिसहैंडलिंग तो तब हुई थी, जब 1984 में इंदिरा गांधी की हत्या के बाद दिल्ली में हजारों सिखों का कत्लेआम हुआ था। मिसहैंडलिंग तो तब हुई थी, जब 5 जून 2011 को रामलीला मैदान में स्वामी रामदेव के सोते हुए समर्थकों पर पुलिस ने लाठियां बरसाई थीं, और निर्दोष लोगों का खून बहाया गया था।

हैरानी की बात तो ये है कि किसान आंदोलन में किसानों से जुड़ी बातों को छोड़कर हर तरह की नाराजगी जाहिर की जा रही है। कोई कहता है कि हाईवे को ब्लॉक करने के लिए कांटों की तार क्यों लगा दी, कीलें क्यों गाड़ दीं। कोई कहता है कि किसानों को खालिस्तानी क्यों बताया जा रहा है। कोई कहता है कि मुट्ठी भर लोगों को क्यों लाल किले में घुसने और तिरंगे का अपमान करने दिया गया। कोई कह रहा है कि मोदी ने किसानों के लिए ‘जमात’ शब्द का इस्तेमाल क्यों किया।

हैरानी की बात ये भी है कि किसान खुद इन सवालों को नहीं उठा रहे हैं। ये सारी बातें इसलिए उठती हैं क्योंकि कुछ लोग साजिश के तहत किसान आंदोलन का इस्तेमाल दुनियाभर में देश को बदनाम करने के लिए कर रहे हैं। ये वही लोग हैं जो ये निराधार आरोप लगा रहे हैं कि मोदी के शासन में लोकतंत्र को कुचला जा रहा है, और असंतोष की आवाज को दबाया जा रहा है। यह भारत के लोगों को तय करना है कि कौन सच बोल रहा है।

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday replied to most of the questions raised by the opposition on the issue of new farm laws. He also nailed the lies that were being spread in the name of farmers’ agitation for the last several weeks.

Questions had been raised by his critics on whether minimum support prices (MSP) and agricultural ‘mandis’ would be abolished, on whether industrialists would gain an upper hand if contract farming was allowed, on whether small and marginal farmers will be completely marginalized, on whether farmers will lose ownership of their land and become slaves of industrialists, and similar other questions.

Questions had been raised on why farmers were sitting on dharna for the last 75 days if the laws were beneficial for them, on who are the forces who do not want the farmers and the government to reach a compromise, on why India’s name is being tarnished if the laws are pro-farmer. There were questions on why Sikhs and Jat farmers were unhappy with the PM, on whether the government’s stand was tyrannical.

Prime Minister Modi had been keeping a close eye on all these questions, and on Monday in Rajya Sabha, he came out with his replies. He raised questions about those who were pointing fingers at his pro-farmer bonafide.

The Prime Minister emphatically said (1) MSP was there, MSP is here and MSP will remain in future (2) the distribution of cheap foodgrains to the poor through Public Distribution System will continue (3) the fear that industrial houses will grab the land of farmers was based on lies.

Citing an example, Modi pointed out how farmers have been selling milk to corporates for the last several decades. He said, they were free to sell milk anywhere in India, and dairy farming constituted 28 per cent of agricultural sector. In a rhetorical flourish, Modi asked, has there been any case where a businessman forcibly took away the buffaloes of a farmer? Similarly, the farmers need not fear about their land, if they start contract farming for corporates.

Modi said, the new laws will also benefit the small and marginal farmers, who constitute 86 per cent of the farming community and own less than 2 hectares of land. Is it not my government’s duty to help the small farmers?, he asked.

Since a bulk of the protesters are Sikh farmers from Punjab, Modi sought to reject the charges being levelled by Khalistan supporters that his government was anti-Sikh. He said, the nation is proud of the brave Sikh community and Sikhs have set shining examples in the fields of humanitarian service and defence.

Since both the Congress and the Left are supporting the farmers’ agitation, Modi targeted the Left and reminded what the Left parties had done when Lal Bahadur Shastri was Prime Minister. Shastriji, he said, wanted to usher in Green Revolution in India, but the Left parties opposed him and labelled Shastriji as “an American agent”. They are doing the same thing now, Modi said.

The Left frontal organizations are already active in the farmers’ movement in Rajasthan, Punjab, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The ‘tukde tukde’ gangs, which were active during the Shaheen Bagh, JNU and Jamia Millia agitations, are now active in the farmers’ stir. On Monday, Modi named these people as ‘andolanjeevi’ (professional protesters) and asked people to be on guard against such elements who believe in FDI(foreign destructive ideology).

After protesters caused mayhem with tractors and insulted the national flag at Red Fort on Republic Day, police had to set up barricades with concertina wires and cemented nails. Images of these barricades were circulated across the world to defame India. A wrong perception about “atrocities on farmers and dissenters” is being created with the allegation Modi is “crushing democracy”.

The Prime Minister replied to these charges by quoting Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. He said, India was not only the world’s most populous democracy but is the “mother of democracies”. In India, democracy is not only a system, but it is also a part of lifestyle and ethos of the Indian people, Modi said.

Overall, Modi, through his convincing replies, laced with sarcasm, answered most of the questions that were raised by the opposition and farmer leaders in recent weeks. But nobody can help, if the other side is unwilling to listen to reason.

I am surprised when some people allege that the farmers’ agitation was mishandled. These include some of Modi’s supporters who said the issue could have been handled in a better manner.

My questions are: If Modi’s ministers discussed the issue with farmer leaders 11 times, was it mishandling? Even on Monday, Modi said the road for talks is still open. Is it mishandling, if Modi promises no abolition of MSP and ‘mandis? Will you call it mishandling if Modi offers to amend the farm laws if required? Was it mishandling to offer the farmers 18 months to give the farm laws a trial? Was it mishandling when Modi told farmers not to believe in hearsay and rumours and go through the fine print in the farm laws?

Was it mishandling to tell police not to fire a single bullet at protesters? Was it mishandling when more than 300 policemen were injured and the police did not use force when the national flag was being insulted at Red Fort? Was it mishandling when Modi recalled the great sacrifices by Sikh gurus and leaders when lies were being propagated about the government being anti-Sikh?

I have watched history unfolding in front of my own eyes. It was grave mishandling when several thousand Sikhs were killed in Delhi during 1984 after Indira Gandhi’s assassination. It was mishandling when Delhi police in a midnight swoop on Swami Ramdev’s dharna, lathicharged his supporters on June 5, 2011, when they were sleeping. Blood of innocent people were shed.

The surprising part is that every other issue is being raised in connection with a farmers’ agitation except their core issues relating to farm laws. Questions are being raised about why cemented iron spikes and concertina wire were placed to block highways. Questions are being raised about why farmers are being labelled as Khalistanis. Questions are being raised on why a handful of people were allowed to enter Red Fort and insult the national flag. Questions are being raised on why Modi used the word ‘jamaat’ for farmers.

Here too, the surprising part is that the farmers themselves are not raising these questions. The moot point is that some people with vested interests inimical to India, are using the farmers’ agitation to sully the nation’s image in the international arena. They are those who are levelling baseless allegations that democracy and open dissent are being crushed during Modi’s rule. It is for the people of India to decide who is speaking the truth.

किसान आंदोलन को लेकर पॉप गायक रिहाना, क्लाइमेट एक्टिविस्ट ग्रेटा थुनबर्ग और अन्य विदेशी सेलिब्रिटिज द्वारा पोस्ट किए गए ट्वीट को लेकर अबतक जो सबूत मिले हैं उससे पता चलता है कि ये ट्वीट स्वत:स्फूर्त नहीं थे। दरअसल, यह भारत को बदनाम करने की एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय साजिश का हिस्सा था। भारतीय मूल के कनाडा के सांसद जगमीत सिंह ने यह माना है कि वे रिहाना के साथ चैट करते थे। जगमीत सिंह और रिहाना ट्वीटर पर एक दूसरे को फॉलो करते हैं, दोनों एक-दूसरे को डायरेक्ट मैसेज भी करते हैं और लगातार संपर्क में रहते हैं। हालांकि जगमीत सिंह ने इस पर कुछ भी कहने से इनकार कर दिया कि रिहाना से साथ उनकी क्या बात हुई। लेकिन वो क्या बात करते होंगे, इस पर क़यास लगाने की ज़रूरत नहीं।

कड़वा सच ये है कि जगमीत सिंह खालिस्तान की मांग के समर्थक हैं। खालिस्तान आंदोलन के लिए फंड जुटाने का काम करते हैं। 2013 में भारत सरकार ने जगमीत सिंह को भारत आने का वीज़ा नहीं दिया था। किसान आंदोलन के मुद्दे पर भी वो कनाडा में लगातार प्रोटेस्ट करते रहे हैं। ऐसे में जब रिहाना ने किसान आंदोलन को लेकर ट्वीट किया तो इसके पीछे जगमीत सिंह का हाथ होने की बात सामने आई। इस दावे को तब और हवा मिली जब जगमीत सिंह ने रिहाना के इस कमेंट को रिट्वीट करते हुए किसान आंदोलन का मुद्दा उठाने के लिए उन्हें शुक्रिया कहा। जगमीत यह दावा करते हैं कि रिहाना उनकी दोस्त है।

दिल्ली पुलिस इस पूरी पहेली को सुलझाने में जुटी है। पुलिस यह पता लगाने की कोशिश कर रही है कि ट्विटर पर ग्रेटा थुनबर्ग द्वारा पोस्ट किए गए टूल किट को किसने तौयार किया था। इस टूल किट में जनवरी और फरवरी में किसानों के मुद्दे पर भारत में हंगामा खड़ा करने की योजनाओं को विस्तार से बताया गया था। 26 जनवरी (गणतंत्र दिवस) के बाद होने वाले विरोध प्रदर्शन की योजनाओं का जिक्र भी टूल किट में किया गया है। दिल्ली पुलिस की तरफ से दर्ज की गई एफआईआर में देशद्रोह, आपराधिक साजिश रचने और समुदायों के बीच शत्रुता को बढ़ावा देने से संबंधित धाराएं लगाई गई हैं। यह एक खुला एफआईआर है और जांच के बाद ही पता चलेगा कि साजिशकर्ता कौन थे। पुलिस का कहना है कि एफआईआर में ग्रेटा थुनबर्ग या किसी अन्य शख्स का नाम नहीं है।

जब मैंने टूल किट को देखा तो चकित रह गया। जिस टूल किट को ग्रेटा थुनबर्ग ने गलती से ट्वीट किया उसमें 4 और 5 फरवरी का यह प्लान था कि शाम साढ़े चार बजे से साढ़े सात बजे के बीच ट्वीटर पर किसान आंदोलन के समर्थन में ट्वीट स्ट्रॉम चलाना है, यानी किसान आंदोलन के समर्थन में ट्वीट करने हैं। इसका मकसद ये था कि 6 फरवरी को किसान एकता मोर्चे की चक्काजाम की कॉल को बड़ा बनाया जाए। दुनिया भर में इसकी चर्चा हो और दुनिया को ये दिखाया जाए कि भारत में सारे किसान सड़क पर हैं। सरकार किसानों का दमन कर रही है। जो टूल किट नंबर 2 है, उसमें 4 और 5 फरवरी को ट्विटर पर ट्रैंड करने के लिए जो लाइन तय की गई थी वो है अर्जेंट एक्शन हेडलाइन। अर्जेंट टूल किट में दो तरीके से सपोर्ट करने को कहा गया है। एक तो सोशल मीडिया के जरिए और दूसरा फिजिकल प्रजेंश के जरिए। टूल किट में बताया गया कि कहां-कहां विरोध-प्रदर्शन करना है। अपील की गई कि अगर हो सके तो किसानों का समर्थन करने दिल्ली के बॉर्डर पर पहुंचें। अगर हिन्दुस्तान से बाहर हैं तो जहां हैं उस देश में, भारत के दूतावास के बाहर इकट्ठा होकर भारत सरकार के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन करें। जहां-जहां भारत सरकार के दफ्तर हैं, वहां भी प्रदर्शन किए जाएं। एक खास बात और है कि इस अर्जेंट टूल किट में बार-बार अडानी और अंबानी का नाम भी आया है। कहा गया है कि अंबानी और अडानी की कंपनियों के दफ्तरों के बाहर भी प्रदर्शन हों और इनका बहिष्कार किया जाए। 6 फरवरी के साथ-साथ 13 और 14 फरवरी को भी भारत के दूतावासों और सरकारी दफ्तरों के सामने धरना-प्रदर्शन का आह्वान किया गया।

चाहे रिहाना हों या ग्रेटा, ये सब एक बड़े प्लान का हिस्सा हैं। वो शायद जानती भी नहीं होंगी कि ये प्लान भारत की संप्रभुता और भारत की लोकतंत्र पर हमला करने का प्लान है। भारत के खिलाफ प्रोपेगेंडा वॉर शुरू करने का प्लान है। अब मैं आपको बताता हूं कि जो एक-एक बात दुनिया में फैलाने का प्लान था। वो कितना बड़ा झूठ है। ये कहा गया कि मोदी सरकार ने किसानों पर गोली चलवाई। पिछले 71 दिनों के किसानों के धरना-प्रदर्शन के दौरान एक भी गोली नहीं चली है। सच तो ये है कि पुलिस पर तलवार, फरसा, रॉड से हमला हुआ। तीन सौ पुलिस वाले घायल हुए, लेकिन उन्होंने गोली नहीं चलाई।

कहा ये गया कि सोशल मीडिया पर रोक लगा दी गई है और किसानों की खबरें बाहर नहीं आती, लेकिन ये सारा का सारा प्रोपेगंडा तो सोशल मीडिया के माध्यम से ही हो रहा है। किसानों के विरोध प्रदर्शन की खबरें सोशल मीडिया पर रोज आती हैं। 26 जनवरी को दंगा करने वाले लाल किले से फेसबुक लाइव करते रहे और ये कह रहे हैं कि सोशल मीडिया पर रोक लगा दी गई है।

यह भी आरोप लगाया कि पुलिस ने किसानों का खाना-पानी बंद कर दिया है। किसान परेशानी में हैं और भूख से मर जाएंगे। लेकिन पूरे देश ने देखा कि कैसे किसानों के बीच 2 महीने से लंगर लगा। आसपास के गांवों के किसानों ने दूध और फल भेजे। कोई मिठाई लेकर आता हैं तो कोई पिज्जा का इंतज़ाम करता है। वहीं किसान भाइयों ने भी अपने खाने-पीने का इंतजाम भी अच्छे से किया है। किसानों के खाने-पीने की कोई कमी नहीं है,लेकिन अन्तरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर यह झूठ फैलाया जा रहा है।

यह आरोप लगाया जा रहा है कि भारत सरकार कॉरपोरेट्स की मदद के लिए कृषि कानून ला रही है। ये कहा गया कि अंबानी-अडानी की सरकार है। अब आपको ये बताने की जरूरत नहीं कि ये लाइनें कौन कहता है? ‘अडानी-अंबानी की सरकार है’ ये किसका डायलॉग है? लेकिन यहां ये बताना जरूरी है कि ग्रेटा थुनबर्ग ने जो टूल किट 3 फरवरी को गलती से ट्वीट की थी उस डाक्यूमेंट का कुछ हिस्सा कांग्रेस पार्टी के ट्वीटर हैंडल से 18 जनवरी को ही पोस्ट किया गया था। यानी इस टूल किट की जानकारी कांग्रेस पार्टी को पहले से थी और इसके आधार पर कांग्रेस के कई नेताओं ने उसी प्लान के तहत ट्वीट किए जो इस टूल किट में बताए गए थे। अब ये संयोग है या प्रयोग है इसका जबाव तो कांग्रेस देगी।

विदेशी ताकतों ने ये फैलाने के लिए कहा कि मानवाधिकार खत्म हो गए हैं, पत्रकारों को डराया जा रहा है। लेकिन ये बताने की भी जरूरत नहीं कि भारत में सबको अपनी बात कहने की आजादी है। यहां किसी पर कोई पाबंदी नहीं है, न कोई किसी को डराता है और न कोई किसी से डरता है। ये भारत की लोकतंत्र की ताकत है।

असली बात ये है कि नरेन्द्र मोदी को बदनाम करने और दुनिया में भारत की छवि को खराब करने के लिए झूठ का सहारा लिया गया। झूठ भी ऐसा जिसका कोई सिर-पैर नहीं है। लेकिन दो अच्छी बातें हुईं। एक तो इस झूठ का वक्त रहते पर्दाफाश हो गया और दूसरा भारत की जनता ने उस बात पर यकीन किया जो वो अपनी आंखों से देखती हैं। हमारे देश के लोग किसी तरह के बहकावे में नहीं आए। यहां तक कि किसान संगठनों के जो नेता आंदोलन में एक्टिव हैं उन्होंने भी कहा कि वे इन अंतरराष्ट्रीय हस्तियों को नहीं जानते हैं। और इन लोगों के बयानों का किसान संगठनों के इन नेताओं से कोई मतलब नहीं है।

दरअसल, देश के दुश्मन किसान आंदोलन को मौके के रूप में देख रहे हैं। नाम किसानों का है और साजिश देश को दुनिया में बदनाम करने की हो रही है। जो लोग किसानों के हमदर्द बन रहे हैं और किसानों की तस्वीरें लगाकर भारत की छवि खराब करने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं, वे लोग इस आंदोलन के नाम पर भड़ी मात्रा में फंड भी इक्कठा कर रहे हैं। कनाडा, अमेरिका, ब्रिटेन, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, फ्रांस और जर्मनी जैसे तमाम मुल्कों में कहीं धर्म के नाम पर तो कहीं किसानों के नाम पर फंड इकट्ठा किया जा रहा है।

मुझे पूरा यकीन है कि दिल्ली के बॉर्डर पर पिछले 71 दिनों से आंदोलन कर रहे किसानों को इन सब बातों की भनक भी नहीं होगी। उन्हें पता भी नहीं होगा कि किसानों के नाम पर क्या-क्या हो रहा है। उन्हें इन संगठनों और साजिशकर्ताओं के नाम भी नहीं पता हैं। लेकिन ये भी सही है कि दिल्ली के बॉर्डर पर किसान नेताओं के बीच देश के दुश्मनों के कुछ एजेंट भी घुसे हैं और ये बात टूल किट में लिखी कुछ हिदायतों से साफ होती है। इस टूल किट में विरोध-प्रदर्शन की जो प्लानिंग की गई थी, उसमें साफ-साफ लिखा था कि किसान आंदोलन के समर्थन में जो भी तस्वीरें और वीडियो भेजे जाएंगे, उसकी सिंघु बॉर्डर और टीकरी बॉर्डर पर पहले किसान नेताओं द्वारा ‘स्क्रीनिंग’ की जाएगी उसके बाद सोशल मीडिया और अन्य प्लेटफॉर्म्स पर शेयर किया जाएगा।

दिल्ली पुलिस ने अपने बयान में पोएटिक जस्टिस फाउंडेशन का नाम लिया है। अब मैं आपको इसके बारे में बताता हूं। ये पॉएटिक जस्टिस फाउंडेशन है क्या? कौन इसे चलाता है, किसान आंदोलन में इसका क्या रोल है? विदेश से ऑपरेट होने वाला ये पोएटिक जस्टिस फाउंडेशन किस तरह भारत के खिलाफ साजिश रच रहा है। असल में ये फाउंडेशन कनाडा में काम करता है। कनाडा में रहकर इस फाउंडेशन के लोग किसान आंदोलन के नाम पर भारत को बदनाम करने और यहां का माहौल बिगाड़ने की साजिश रच रहे हैं। यही नहीं पोएटिक जस्टिस फाउंडेशन ने कनाडा में भी किसान आंदोलन के नाम पर कई प्रोटेस्ट मार्च और रैलियां की हैं।

पोएटिक जस्टिस फाउंडेशन ने अपनी वेबसाइट में लिखा है कि उसका मकसद मोदी सरकार की फासिस्ट मानसिकता को एक्सपोज़ करना और भारत में बड़े औद्योगिक घरानों के भ्रष्टाचार उजागर करना है। भारत की योग और चाय वाली इमेज को खराब करना और 26 जनवरी को दुनियाभर में गड़बड़ी कराना है। सोचिए, जो फाउंडेशन खुलेआम ये कह रहा है कि वो भारत के गणतंत्र दिवस के दिन यूनिफाइड ग्लोबल डिसरप्शन प्रोग्राम चलाना चाहता है वह फाउंडेशन छुप-छुपकर क्या-क्या करता होगा? पोएटिक जस्टिस फाउंडेशन ने उन देशों को भी चुन कर रखा था, जहां किसान आंदोलन के दौरान सबसे ज्यादा प्रदर्शन करना है। इन देशों में ऑस्ट्रेलिया, कनाडा, ब्रिटेन और अमेरिका का नाम है। इसके अलावा केन्या, डेनमार्क, इटली, मलेशिया, सिंगापुर, नीदरलैंड और न्यूज़ीलैंड जैसे देशों में भी ये फाउंडेशन एक्टिव है।

किसान आंदोलन को लेकर जो संगठन और जो लोग विदेश में बैठकर साजिश रच रहे हैं। उसमें बार-बार मो ढालीवाल नाम के शख्स का नाम सामने आ रहा है। मो ढालीवाल पोएटिक जस्टिस फाउंडेशन से जुड़ा हुआ है और कनाडा में रहकर खालिस्तान का एजेंडा चलाता है। सेमिनार ऑर्गनाइज कराता है, खालिस्तान के समर्थन में लगातार प्रोटेस्ट मार्च और रैलियों का आयोजन करता है। यह शख्स सोशल मीडिया पर खुले तौर पर इस बात को कबूल भी करता है कि वो खालिस्तानी है और खालिस्तान के लिए आंदोलन चला रहा है।

जो दस्तावेज लीक हुआ अगर वो सामने न आता तो शायद ये कभी पता ही नहीं चलता कि कितने बड़े पैमाने पर मोदी को बदनाम करने के लिए प्रोपेगंडा किया जा रहा है। भारत के लोकतंत्र पर किस तरह से हमला करके हमारे देश को एक फासिस्ट मुल्क बताने की कोशिश की जा रही है। ये उन्हीं ताकतों का काम है जिन्होंने ट्रंप की भारत यात्रा के समय दंगे करवाए थे।

ये उन्ही ताकतों का काम है जिन्होंने इंग्लैंड के प्रधानमंत्री बोरिस जॉनसन को चिट्ठी लिखकर कहा था कि वो भारत के गणतंत्र दिवस समारोह में चीफ गेस्ट बनकर न जाएं। ये वही लोग हैं जिनके कहने पर ब्रिटेन की लेबर पार्टी के सांसदों ने किसान आंदलोन के बारे में इसी तरह की बातें कही थी। इन्हीं के उकसावे में आकर कनाडा के प्रधानमंत्री जस्टिन ट्रूडो ने किसान आंदोलन के शुरूआत के दिनों में भारत के खिलाफ बयान दिया था।

अब तो ये बिल्कुल साफ है कि खालिस्तानी संगठनों ने ये प्लान तैयार करवाया और लोगों को भड़काया। किसानों को तो पता ही नहीं चल पाया कि कुछ लोग किसान आंदोलन में घुसकर उन्हें बदनाम करने में लगे थे। देश के दुश्मनों की साजिश को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए किसानों के धरने का सहारा ले रहे थे। इस के सबूत दिल्ली पुलिस की जांच में सामने आ रहे हैं। गूगल इंडिया को उन लोगों को ट्रेस करने में सहयोग करने के लिए कहा गया है जिन्होंने भारत में अराजक माहौल करने के लिए टूल किट बनाई थी। स्वाभाविक तौर पर अब जांच के बाद इन सबूतों को अदालतों के सामने पेश किया जाएगा।

मैं एक बात साफ कर देना चाहता हूं कि साजिश करने वाले चाहे देश के अंदर हों या विदेश में, उनके खिलाफ कड़ी कानूनी कार्रवाई होनी चाहिए। यह भारत की एकता और अखंडता पर हमला है। देश में रहने वाले कुछ लोग विदेश में बैठे षड्यंत्रकारियों का मोहरा बन गए। अब जबकि दिल्ली पुलिस ने लाल किले पर हमले के पीछे के अहम किरदारों को गिरफ्तार करना शुरू कर दिया है, मुझे भरोसा है कि साजिश करने वाले किसी को भी बख्शा नहीं जाएगा। मुझे भरोसा है कि इस मामले कोई भी निर्दोष किसान, जिसका इसमें कोई हाथ नहीं रहा है, उसे पुलिस परेशान नहीं करेगी।

More evidences have come forward which show that the tweets posted by pop singer Rihanna, climate activist Greta Thunberg and others were not spontaneous. These were part of an international conspiracy to defame India. A Canadian MP of Indian origin, Jagmeet Singh, an avowed supporter of Khalistan, has admitted that he used to chat with Rihanna, as both of them were following each other on Twitter. Jagmeet Singh however refused to disclose what he discussed with Rihanna, but the answers are obvious.

Jagmeet Singh collects funds for Khalistan movement overseas. In 2013, the Indian government refused to grant him visa to visit India. When Rihanna posted her tweet in support of farmers, it was Jagmeet Singh who retweeted her post and thanked her for coming out in solidarity with farmers. He claims that Rihanna is his friend.

Delhi Police is trying to fix the missing pieces in the jigsaw puzzle. It is trying to find out who created the tool kit that was posted by Greta Thunberg on Twitter and was hurriedly deleted. The tool kit outlines detailed plans for creating disruption in India on the farmers’ issue in January and February. Specific plans for staging protests from January 26 (Republic Day) onwards have been mentioned in the toolkit. The FIR, lodged by Delhi Police, pertains to acts of sedition, hatching criminal conspiracy and promotion of enmity among groups. It is an open-ended FIR and the investigation will establish who the conspirators are. The FIR does not name Greta Thunberg or any other person, police said.

I was astonished when I went through the plans detailed in the tool kit. It called for creating a ‘tweetstorm’ against the Indian government in order to draw worldwide attention to the farmers’ protests. Farmer leaders have given a call for nationwide ‘chakka jam’ on Saturday, and the tweets by foreign celebrities were intended for this purpose. The tool kit outlines what Twitterati should do on February 4 and 5. It outlines two types of action: one, through social media, and two, through physical presence. It called for protests outside Indian embassies and consulates, and also inside India to express solidarity with farmers. Call has been given for protests on February 13 and 14 outside Indian embassies, and also outside offices of Ambani and Adani groups.

Whether it is Rihanna or Greta Thunberg or the Khalistani groups, they appear to be part of an international plan to defame India and challenge India’s sovereignty. They are peddling a bundle of lies about farmers’ protests throughout the world.
They have alleged that farmers were fired upon by police. It is an utter lie. There has been no firing during the 71-day-long dharna by farmers on Delhi’s borders. On the contrary, the fact is that rioters attacked policemen with swords and iron rods and more than 300 policemen were injured, but not a single shot was fired at farmers.

It was alleged that a ban has been put on social media, but the funniest part is that much of the propaganda war is being launched on social media inside India. On January 26, the rioters were telecasting their horrendous acts live on Facebook and other platforms.

It was also alleged that police have stopped supplies of food and water to farmers, but the whole nation has seen visuals of how langars were being run on a daily basis at the border points in Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur. The farmers had brought their own stocks of foodgrains and vegetables, while villagers living in nearby areas provided them with fruits, foodgrains and milk.

It is being alleged that the Indian government is bringing the farm laws to help corporates. No prize for guessing who has been levelling the charge that Modi government is working to help “cronies like Ambani and Adani”.

The most worrying part is that the tool kit hurriedly posted by Greta Thunberg shows how some portions of it were already posted from a Congress party Twitter handle on January 18. It is now for the Congress to reply whether it was a coincidence or an experiment?

The toolkit also alleges that critics of the government and journalists are being intimidated and oppressed, and human rights are being violated. It is an open fact that everybody in India, including journalists, has the freedom to speak whatever one wants to, and there are no curbs on press freedom. No one is being threatened nor is anybody feeling intimidated.

The moot point is that an international conspiracy has been hatched to defame India by peddling lies through deceit. This has brought forth two positive results. One, the bundle of lies stands exposed, and two, the people of India are watching events that are unfolding in front of their own eyes. They do not need promptings from international celebrities. Even the farmer leaders sitting on dharna said on Thursday that they do not know these international celebrities, and their reactions do not matter.

The enemies of India are eyeing the farmers’ protests as a blessing in disguise, so that they can tarnish India’s image in the eyes of the world. Funds are being collected in countries like Canada, USA, Germany, UK, Australia and France, sometimes in the name of religion, or in the name of protesting farmers or in the name of their own fringe outfits.
The farmers sitting on dharna at Delhi borders for the last 71 days do not even know the names of these outfits and the conspirators. But the agents of this international conspiracy are still sitting with the farmers on Delhi’s borders. This has been revealed in the tool kit, in which supporters have been advised to show all pictures and videos of farmers’ protests for “screening” to the farm leaders at Singhu or Tikri borders, before posting them on social media.

The outfit named Poetic Justice Foundation, based in Canada, claims that it works for the upliftment of marginalized communities. The PJF took out several rallies in Canada in support of Indian farmers. It openly claims on its website that it is trying to expose the ‘fascist mindset’ of Modi government and acts of corruption by big Indian corporates. It had given a call for Unified Global Disruption Program on India’s Republic Day this year. The PJF is active in Australia, Canada, Britain, USA, Kenya, Denmark, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, The Netherlands, and New Zealand.

Mo Dhaliwal, a PR man based in Vancouver, Canada, is of Indian origin. He is one of the leading lights of PJF, and his main agenda is furthering the cause of Khalistan. He openly flaunts his love for Khalistan and has been collecting funds for that cause.

Had the tool kit not been posted by Greta Thunberg mistakenly, the full extent of the international conspiracy that was hatched to defame India would not have come out in the open. The conspirators are part of that group, which incited communal riots in Delhi last year when the then US President Donald Trump was in India on a state visit.

They were part of the group which wrote letters and mails to UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson requesting him not to attend India’s Republic Day parade this year. This group encouraged British Labour Party MPs to issue statements in support of protesting farmers. It was at the instance of this group that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gave a statement in support of farmers’ protests in India.

Delhi Police has collected more evidences of the global conspiracy to defame India. Google India has been asked to cooperate in tracing people who created the tool kit for causing disruption in India. Naturally, these evidences will now come up before the courts after investigation.

However, one thing must be made clear. Conspirators, whether staying inside India or abroad, must be brought to book. It is an attack on the unity and integrity of India. Some people living inside India have acted as pawns in the hands of conspirators sitting abroad.

Now that Delhi Police has begun arresting the key persons behind the attack on Red Fort, I am confident that none of the conspirators would be spared. I am also confident that none of the innocent farmers, who had no clue about this conspiracy, will be harassed by police.

एक बार फिर भारत के खिलाफ अन्तरराष्ट्रीय साज़िश के नए सबूत सामने आए। आज एक बार फिर पता चला कि किसान आंदोलन की आड़ में भारत को बदनाम करने के लिए अन्तरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर प्लानिंग की गई। बुधवार को एनवायरमेंटल एक्टिविस्ट ग्रेटा थुनबर्ग ने किसान आंदोलन को लेकर ट्वीट किया लेकिन बाद में उन्होंने उस ट्वीट को तुरंत डिलीट कर दिया, जब Twitterati ने उन पर “भारत को बदनाम करने की अंतर्राष्ट्रीय साजिश” का हिस्सा होने का आरोप लगाया।

भारत समर्थकों ने ग्रेटा द्वारा अपना ट्वीट डिलीट किये जाने के बाद #GretaThunbergExposed शेयर किया। अपने ट्वीट में ग्रेटा ने लिखा था, ‘यदि आप मदद करना चाहते हैं, तो यह अपडेटेड टूलकिट है।‘ ग्रेटा ने Google डॉक्यूमेंट का एक लिंक शेयर किया जिसमें भारत के कृषि कानूनों के खिलाफ लोगों को जुटाने के लिए कई स्रोतों का उल्लेख किया गया था। अब हटा दिए गए इस डॉक्यूमेंट में किसानों की आवाज़ को ऑनलाइन पर बढावा देने के लिए अतीत में की गई कार्रवाइयों की एक सूची शामिल थी।

ग्रेटा द्वारा गलती से शेयर किये गये इस डॉक्यूमेंट से यह साबित होता है कि कैसे पॉप स्टार रिहाना और अन्य हस्तियों द्वारा भारत में किसानों के विरोध के समर्थन में किए गए ट्वीट स्वत:स्फूर्त नहीं थे, बल्कि भारत को अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर बदनाम करने के एक बड़े पीआर अभियान का हिस्सा थे। यह एक सुनियोजित, पहले से तयशुदा कैम्पेन का हिस्सा था। इसके जरिए 26 जनवरी (भारत के गणतंत्र दिवस) को “ग्लोबल डे ऑफ एक्शन” का आह्वान किया गया था, जिसका मुख्य उदेश्य “कॉर्पोरेट हितों के पक्ष में अपने नागरिकों का उत्पीड़न, प्रेस की आज़ादी पर रोक और स्वतंत्र पत्रकारों का उत्पीड़न, राष्ट्रवाद को नुकसान पहुंचाने वाले सरकार के आलोचकों का उत्पीड़न” जैसे मुद्दों को दुनिया भर में उछालना था।

इस डॉक्यूमेंट के जरिए भारत की छवि को धूमिल करने की कोशिश की गई। इसने भारत के “योग और चाय” वाली छवि को भी चोट पहुंचाने की कोशिश की गई। इस पावर प्वाइंट प्रेजेंटेशन में भारत को बदनाम करने के बारे में विस्तार से बताया गया है। इसे कनाडा के वैंकूवर स्थित एक पीआर विशेषज्ञ खालिस्तानी समर्थक मो धालीवाल ने तैयार किया था। वह खुद को स्काईरॉकेट डिजिटल का स्ट्रैटेजी निदेशक बताता है। उसका ट्विटर हैंडल कहता है, वह “दिन में ब्रांड और डिजिटल प्रोडक्ट्स का निर्माण करता है, और रात में आंदोलन करता है”।

किसानों के मुद्दे पर बुधवार को रिहाना, ग्रेटा थुनबर्ग, पूर्व पोर्न स्टार मिया खलीफा, अमेरिकी उपराष्ट्रपति कमला हैरिस की भतीजी मीना हैरिस द्वारा भारत सरकार के खिलाफ ट्वीट पर भारत सरकार ने कड़ा एतराज़ जताया। विदेश मंत्रालय की तरफ से जारी बयान में कहा गया कि “कृषि कानूनों को संसद में बहस करने के बाद पास किया गया है। किसानों का एक छोटा सा वर्ग इनके खिलाफ आंदोलन कर रहा है। मुद्दे को सुलझाने के लिए सरकार इन किसानों के साथ बात कर रही है लेकिन ये दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण बात है कि कुछ लोग अपने निहित स्वार्थ के लिए किसान आंदोलन के बहाने अपना एजेंडा चला रहे हैं। किसान आंदोलन के दिन 26 जनवरी यानी गणतंत्र दिवस जैसे पावन पर्व पर हिंसा की गई, दुनिया के कुछ शहरों में महात्मा गांधी की प्रतिमाओं को नुकसान पहुंचाया गया लेकिन इसके बावजूद एक खास ग्रुप भारत के खिलाफ माहौल तैयार कर रहा है। भारत में भी जो हिंसा हुई उसमें कई पुलिसवाले घायल हुए। ऐसे में सेलीब्रेटीज से ये उम्मीद की जाती है कि वो कुछ भी कहने और लिखने से पहले मुद्दे की गहराई तक जाएंगे, उसके बारे में जानकारी लेंगे।“

बॉलीवुड हस्तियां अक्षय कुमार, अजय देवगन, सुनील शेट्टी, करण जौहर, एकता कपूर और क्रिकेट आइकन सचिन तेंदुलकर ने अपने ट्वीट में इस तरह के सोशल मीडिया अभियान का विरोध किया और भारतीयों से अपनी समस्या का हल खुद निकालने और बाहरी लोगों को किसानों के मसले से दूर रहने का आह्वान किया। रिहाना, ग्रेटा और उनके जैसे अन्य लोग शायद ही किसानों के मुद्दों की पेचीदगियों के बारे में ज्यादा जानते हों, लेकिन उन्हें कनाडा में बैठे एक खालिस्तानी समर्थक के पीआर कैम्पेन का हिस्सा बना दिया गया।

बुधवार की रात को अपने प्राइम टाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में, मैंने कई ऐसे वीडियो दिखाए जो राष्ट्रविरोधी तत्वों द्वारा रची गई लाल क़िले वाली साजिश के सबूत हैं। गणतंत्र दिवस से कई दिन पहले, ये दंगाई पंजाब के गांवों में घूम-घूमकर किसानों को दिल्ली पहुंचने और ‘लाल किले पर कब्जा’ करने के लिए उकसाते रहे। इन दंगाईयों ने गांव वालों के कहा कि अब तक प्रधानमंत्री लाल किले से राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराते थे, और अब उसी लाल क़िले से झंडा फहराने की हमारी बारी है।

इसे अंजाम देने के लिए एक प्रशिक्षित व्यक्ति को दिल्ली लाया गया। 23 साल का जुगराज सिंह पंजाब के तरन तारन जिले के वन तारा सिंह गांव का रहने वाला है, ओर वह गुरद्वारों के खंभों और गुम्बदों पर चढ कर पवित्र निशान साहिब फहराने की महारत रखता है। जुगरात सिंह कई साल पहले बेंगलुरु में एक मामूली कर्मचारी था। वह की महीने पहले पंजाब लौट आया और गांव में बने गुरुद्वारों के खंभों और गुंबदों पर चढ़कर निशान साहिब फहराता था और पैसे कमाता था।

26 जनवरी को, जब दंगाइयों की उग्र भीड़ लाल किले की प्राचीर में प्रवेश करने लगी, जुगराज सिंह एक धार्मिक झंडा और एक पीले रंग का बैनर लेकर आगे बढ़ा, और देखते ही देखते कुछ ही मिनटों में वह खंभे पर चढ़ गया और उन्हें फहरा दिया। जिस वक्त जुगराज सिंह पोल पर चढ़कर झंड़ा फहरा रहा था उस वक्त भीड़ राष्ट्रविरोधी नारे नारे लगा रही थी और पहले से तयशुदा प्रोग्राम के मुताबिक उसी जगह से पूरी वारदात को फेसबुक पर लाइव किया जा रहा था। इसकी जिम्मेदारी दी गई थी पंजाबी एक्टर और एक्टिविस्ट दीप सिद्धू को। दीप सिद्धू को वहां कब तक रूकना है, कितने टाइम के बाद वहां से भागना है, कैसे भागना है सब कुछ तय था और सब वैसे ही हुआ।
दीप सिद्धू ने लालकिले की प्राचीर पर तिंरगे की जगह दूसरा झंडा फहराने की तस्वीरों को लाइव किया और फिर वहां से बाइक पर भागा। अभी दीप सिद्धू फरार है, पुलिस उसे खोज रही है। दीप सिद्धू आजकल अचानक फेसबुक पर अपना वीडियो अपलोड करता है। उसने हाल में जो वीडियो सर्कुलट किया है उसमें वो ये कह रहा है कि उसके पास पंजाब कांग्रेस और आम आदमी पार्टी के नेता मदद के लिए आये थे। आंदोलन के दौरान और उससे पहले भी इन दोनों पार्टियों के नेताओं ने उससे सम्पर्क करने की कोशिश की थी।

इस साज़िश में तीसरा प्रमुख व्यक्ति लुधियाना का इकबाल सिंह था। इकबाल सिंह लालकिले की प्राचीर के सामने मैदान में भीड़ के बीच खड़ा था और वहीं से लाइव कर रहा था। वह भीड़ को लालकिले के अंदर दाखिल होने के लिए भड़का रहा था, लालकिले पर फतह करने की बात कह रहा था। इस शख्स ने 58 मिनट तक ये काम किया।
हमारे पास इकबाल सिंह के जो वीडियो हैं उनमें वह जिन शब्दों का इस्तेमाल कर रहा है, जिस तरह से लोगों को भड़का रहा है, वो हम आपको बता नहीं सकते। फिलहाल ये शख्स भी फरार है।

दिल्ली पुलिस और अर्धसैनिक बलों के जो जवान लालकिले की सुरक्षा की ड्यूटी पर थे, उन्होने उग्र भीड़ को देखकर लाहौरी गेट की तरफ वाले तीनों दरवाजे बंद कर दिए थे। लोहे की मोटी रॉड बड़े दरवाजे के पीछे लगाई गई थी। उसके बाद लोहे की जंजीर भी लगी थी लेकिन इकबाल सिंह ने भीड़ को भड़काया और लालकिले के गेट को तोड़कर फतह हासिल करने के नारे लगवाए। कुछ ही देर बाद उन्मादी भीड़ ने लालकिले के गेट को तोड़ दिया। उसी दौरान इकबाल सिंह दूसरे लोगों के साथ मिलकर भीड़ से कह रहा था कि ‘टाप जाओ, गेट पर चढ जाओ। अब लाल किले के अंदर जाना है, अगर टाप नहीं पाते तो गेट तोड़ दो।‘

मैं ये नहीं कहता कि लालकिले पर जो हुआ वो किसान संगठनों के सारे नेताओं को पता था। जिस दिन ये घटना हुई उस दिन कई किसान नेताओं ने माफी मांगी, और 30 जनवरी को इस घटना के खिलाफ उपवास रखा। किसान संगठन के नेताओं को गलती का एहसास था जो हुआ उसका उन्हें दुख था। गणतंत्र दिवस पर हमारी राष्ट्रीय विरासत का अपमान करने से दंगाइयों को रोकने में वे क्यों असफल रहे, इसके बारे में उन्हें विचार करना चाहिए और लोगों को बताना चाहिए कि दंगाइयों को क्या सजा दी जानी चाहिए।

दुनिया में ऐसी कई ताक़तें हैं जो भारत की बढ़ती शक्ति से परेशान हैं। ये लोग प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी को विश्व के एक नेता के तौर पर नहीं देखना चाहते । पाकिस्तान को हम जानते हैं, चीन की चाल को हम पहचानते हैं लेकिन इनके अलावा इंटरनेशनल लेवल पर ऐसी बहुत सारी ताकतें हैं जो इस बात से परेशान है कि भारत कैसे एक महाशक्ति बनता जा रहा है। वो इस बात से हैरान है कि कोरोना की महामारी में भारत में लाशों के ढेर नहीं बिछे। वो इस बात पर परेशान हैं कि भारत ने दस महीने में कोरोना के प्रकोप पर कैसे काबू पा लिया। उन्हें ये बात बर्दाश्त नहीं हो पा रही कि भारत ने अपने यहां दो-दो वैक्सीन डेवलप कर ली। सिर्फ अपने लोगों के लिए नहीं बल्कि पड़ोसी देशों को वैक्सीन पहुंचाकर उनके दिल जीत लिए। कुछ लोग इस बात को पचा नहीं पाए कि नरेन्द्र मोदी ने कोरोना से देश को बचाया, दुनियाभर में भारत के प्रधानमंत्री की तारीफ हुई।

ये कुछ लोगों के लिए कड़वा सच है पर भारत के लिए गौरव की बात है। जो लोग इसे स्वीकार नहीं कर पाते वो भारत में आग लगाने का, नफरत की बीज बोने का मौका ढूंढते रहते हैं। सिर्फ इसलिए कि वो मोदी को कमजोर कर सकें, जिसे वो चुनाव में हरा नहीं सकते, जिसे लोकतांत्रिक तरीके से हटा नहीं सकते उसे इंटरनेशनल लेवल पर बदनाम करें और एंबैरेस करें लेकिन ये लोग भूल जाते हैं कि चुनी हुई सरकार के पीछे देश की जनता का सपोर्ट होता है।

नरेन्द्र मोदी एक व्यक्ति नहीं हैं, देश के प्रधानमंत्री हैं। वो दुनिया के लिए इस देश के प्रतिनिधि हैं। दुनिया ने देखा है कि नरेन्द्र मोदी डरने वाले लीडर नहीं है। ये बात पाकिस्तान भी समझता है और चीन भी। अब दुनिया की बाकी ताकतों को भी इसका एहसास हो रहा है कि ये देश एक है। हमारे आपस में झगड़े हो सकते हैं, मतभेद हो सकते हैं लेकिन हम किसी विदेशी प्रोपेगेंडा को हावी नहीं होने देंगे। हम देश का सिर कभी झुकने नहीं देंगे।

The cat is finally out of the bag. There was an international conspiracy to defame India on the issue of farmers’ protests. On Wednesday, climate activist Greta Thunberg shared a “toolkit” on Twitter to amplify farmers’ voices, but she later hurriedly deleted the tweet when Twitterati accused her of being a part of an “international conspiracy to defame India”.

Pro-India supporters shared a hashtag @GretaThunbergExposed after the climate activist deleted her tweet. In her tweet, Greta had written “Here’s a toolkit if you want to help”. She shared a link to a Google Document that mentioned several resources to mobilize people against India’s farm laws. The now-deleted document consisted of a list of actions taken in the past to amplify farmers’ voices online.

This document shared mistakenly by Greta reveal how tweets posted in support of farmers’ protests in India by pop star Rihanna and other celebrities were not organic but were part of a larger PR campaign to defame India internationally. It was part of a planned and pre-scripted campaign. It called for a “Global Day Of Action” on January 26 (India’s Republic Day) which was expected “to highlight issues…relating to oppression of its citizens in favour of corporate interests, curtailed press freedoms and harassment of independent journalists, persecution of the critics of the government with charges of anti-nationalism”.

The document also targets India’s image and soft power push and it also talks of targeting India’s Yoga and Chai image. The power point presentation gives details about how to discredit India. It was prepared by a Khalistani supporter Mo Dhaliwal, a PR strategy expert based in Vancouver, Canada. He is the Director of Strategy for Skyrocket Digital. His Twitter handle says, he “builds brands and digital products by day, and agitates by night”.

The co-ordinated tweets against Indian government by Rihanna, Greta Thunberg, former porn star Mia Khalifa, US Vice President Kamala Harris’ niece Meena Harris on Wednesday over the farmers’ issue evoke a strong rebuttal from the Ministry of External Affairs, which said: “Before rushing to a comment on such matters, we would urge that the facts be ascertained, and a proper understanding of the issues at hand be undertaken. The temptation of sensationalist social media hashtags and comments, especially when resorted to by celebrities and others, is neither accurate nor responsible.”

Bollywood celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Suneil Shetty, Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor and cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble in tweets, opposed the social media campaign and called for Indians to resolve their problem themselves and outsiders to stay away.

Rihanna, Greta and others of their ilk hardly know much about the intricacies of the issues confronting farmers, but have been made part of a concerted PR campaign handled by none other than this Khalistani supporter based in Canada.

In my prime time show ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ on Wednesday night, I had showed several videos which are damning evidences of a conspiracy hatched and executed by anti-national elements. Several days before Republic Day, these rioters went around in villages of Punjab exhorting farmers to march to Delhi “and occupy the Red Fort”. Villagers in Punjab were told by these elements that till now Prime Ministers used to hoist the national flag from Red Fort, and now it’s our turn to hoist a flag from the same monument.

A trained person who had the expertise of climbing up poles and hoist flags on gurdwaras was brought to Delhi. Jugraj Singh, a 23-year-old man from Wan Tara Singh village of Taran Taran district of Punjab, was hired for this purpose. He was a small-time employee in Bengaluru several years ago, returned home, and started earning money by climbing up poles and domes of village gurdwaras to hoist the sacred Nishan Sahib flag.

On January 26, as the mob entered the ramparts of Red Fort, Jugraj Singh rushed forward carrying the religious flag and another yellow banner, climbed up the pole within minutes, and hoisted them. This video was telecast live on Facebook by the mastermind of the plot, Deep Sidhu, a Punjabi actor-cum-political activist.

Deep Sidhu’s stay at the Red Fort and his escape was meticulously planned. Soon after this flag hoisting, he rode a bike and fled, and is still underground. Jugraj Singh has also gone underground. In his Facebook videos, Deep Sidhu has admitted that he was approached by Congress and AAP leaders in Punjab during the farmers agitation.

There was a third key person, Iqbal Singh from Ludhiana, who stood among the violent mob at the ramparts of Red Fort. He was assigned the task of instigating the mob to force its way into the Red Fort.

In the video, Iqbal Singh was using abusive words against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. When the mob tried to forcibly enter Red Fort, the paramilitary personnel guarding the fort, closed three main entrances from Lahori Gate side. They bolted the gates with long steel rods and chains. Iqbal Singh was seen in the video egging on the mob to break open the gates with iron rods. He was asking the mob to climb up the gates and enter the fort. Iqbal Singh was also seen in the video asking the mob to pull down the national flag. He was also seen threatening security personnel with bloodshed, if the mob was not allowed to enter.

The farmer leaders now sitting on dharna at Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur borders must ponder why they failed to prevent the rioters from causing insult to our national heritage on Republic Day. They should come out and tell people what punishment must be meted out to the plotters and rioters.

I can say with confidence that the thousands of farmers who had reached Delhi borders on January 26, did not know about the sacrilege that was being committed at Red Fort. I also agree that most of the farmer leaders were unaware about the Red Fort plot. With tears in eyes, these leaders had tendered their apology to the nation. But they cannot deny the fact that they have many anti-national elements sitting in their midst in the garb of farmers. The only motive of these anti-national elements was to tarnish the nation’s reputation.

Elements from anti-Indian lobbies that are active in world capitals are now desperate, because the ongoing farmers’ protest has failed to create any ripples across the world. Major world powers consider these protests as India’s domestic issue. These anti-national lobbies are now taking recourse to social media, using the Twitter handles of Rihanna, Greta, Mia Khalifa and others.

There are many forces on the international level that are inimical to India’s interests. They are envious of India which is fast emerging as a big power and winning laurels by sending Covid vaccines to countries in South Asia, Brazil, Southeast Asia, Africa and other countries.

These forces, which never wanted India to emerge as a world power, are surprised over how India successfully tackled the Covid pandemic. They had expected thousands of deaths in India due to pandemic and starvation, but this did not happen, through timely imposition of lockdown, free cash and foodgrains given to the poor and nationwide healthcare facilities. Today, after a 10-month-long war against Corona, India can safely claim that the pandemic is now under control.

For those in the opposition in India, who cannot digest the fact that Narendra Modi’s stature has gone up by many notches after the successful handling of the pandemic, the farmers’ protests have come as a handy stick to flog a dead horse. Leaders and parties, who failed to defeat Modi at the hustings, not once, but twice, are now desperate. They are now out to embarrass Modi by tarnishing India’s reputation on the world stage.

These leaders fail to realize that Modi is not an individual, he is a Prime Minister elected with huge majority by the people, and he represents India in the world arena. The world knows that Modi is a leader who cannot be cowed down easily, and both our neighbours Pakistan and China have realized this to their utter discomfort.

The world knows that India as a nation, is united, and the farmers’ protest is an issue that needs to be solved domestically. We will never allow international propaganda to cow us down, nor will we ever allow our nation to hang its head in shame.

कल मैंने हिंदुओं के खिलाफ शरजील उस्मानी के जहरीले बयानों को सुना। शरजील अलीगढ़ में अपने जहरीले बयानों के बाद सुर्खियों में आया था। उस पर भड़काऊ बयान देने के कई मामले दर्ज हैं।

पुणे पुलिस ने मंगलवार को अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी के इस पूर्व छात्र नेता के खिलाफ FIR दर्ज कर ली है। उसके ऊपर 30 जनवरी 2021 को पुणे में आयोजित एल्गार परिषद की बैठक में हिंदुओं के खिलाफ भड़काऊ बयान देने का आरोप है। इस भाषण का वीडियो देखने और मामले की प्राथमिक जांच के बाद उस्मानी के खिलाफ IPC की धारा 153 A (विभिन्न समूहों के बीच संप्रदाय के आधार पर दुश्मनी को बढ़ावा देना) के तहत एक मामला दर्ज किया गया है।

शरजील उस्मानी को यूपी पुलिस ने दिसंबर 2019 में अलीगढ़ में भड़काऊ भाषण देने और दंगा भड़काने के आरोपों में गिरफ्तार किया था, जिसके बाद अदालत ने उसे जमानत पर रिहा कर दिया था। तब से अलीगढ़ जिले में उसके प्रवेश करने पर रोक लगी हुई है। अब शरजील देशभर में मुसलमानों के बीच भड़काऊ भाषण देने में व्यस्त है।

मंगलवार रात अपने प्राइम टाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में हमने आपको शरजील के जहरीले भाषण का वीडियो दिखाया था। इस वीडियो में वह हिंदुओं को लेकर भड़काऊ बातें कह रहा था और बदला लेने की धमकी भी दे रहा था। आखिर उसने ऐसा क्या कहा था?

शरजील ने मोदी विरोधी और लेफ्ट समर्थक बुद्धिजीवियों की एक बैठक को संबोधित करते हुए कहा, ‘मैं राष्ट्रवाद को नहीं मानता हूं। मैं इस बात को बिल्कुल साफ कर देता हूं और मैं खासतौर पर यही बात करने आया हूं। इससे पहले मैं हल्की-फुल्की बात कर रहा था। आज मैं साफ-साफ कहना चाहता हूं कि हिंदुस्तान में हिंदू समाज बुरी तरीके से सड़ चुका है। 14 साल के जुनैद हाफिज को चलती ट्रेन में एक भीड़ 31 बार चाकू मारकर कत्ल कर देती है, लेकिन कोई 14 साल के बच्चे को बचाने नहीं आता है। दूसरों की लिंचिंग करने वाले ये लोग हमारे और आपके बीच में से आते हैं, लेकिन अब यह इतना नॉर्मल हो गया है कि कोई भी इस तरह की लिंचिंग पर सवाल नहीं उठाता।’

उसने कहा, ‘पहले हिंदुस्तान में मुसलमान को कत्ल करने के लिए वजह चाहिए होती थी। तब वे कहते थे कि ये इंडियन मुजाहिदीन से जुड़ा हुआ था, ये सिमी का मेंबर है। ऐसी कहानियां बनाई जाती थीं कि फलाने बम धमाके में इसका लिंक रहा होगा। उसके बाद मुसलमानों को कत्ल करना या उनके ऊपर जुल्म करना जायज करार दिया जाता था। अब वे मुसलमानों को मार देते हैं, इसके लिए उन्हें किसी बहाने की जरूरत नहीं है।’

शरजील ने कहा, ‘कोई गोश्त खा रहा है, बकरी है, चिकन है या बीफ है, कोई फर्क नहीं, मार देंगे। आप ट्रेन में जा रहे हैं, सीट मांगेंगे, नहीं दोगे तो मार देंगे। यह धमकी है हमारी तरफ से हिंदू समाज के लोगों के लिए। आप समझिए इस बात को। इंसान कितना भी कमज़ोर हो, कोई भी ज़िंदा चीज़ चाहे वह इंसान हो या जानवर, अगर आप उसकी ज़िंदगी से खिलवाड़ करेंगे तो पलट कर एक बार जवाब ज़रूर देगा। अमूमन छिपकली किसी को काटती नहीं, छेड़ कर देखिए दो बार, काट लेगी। तो इतना भी न करिए कि पलटकर जवाब देना पड़े। एल्गार का मतलब होता है जंग का ऐलान, और जंग का ऐलान तभी कर सकते हैं जब हमारे बीच में लोग शहादत देने के लिए तैयार हों, बलिदान देने को तैयार हों।

एएमयू का यह पूर्व छात्र नेता यहीं पर नहीं रुका। एल्गार परिषद की बैठक में उसने आगे कहा, ‘हिंदुस्तान में पिछले 6 सालों में इस्लाम और मुसलमानों पर लगातार हमले हुए हैं। कोई भी हमारे मज़हब पर कुछ भी बोलकर जा सकता है। चौधरी चरण सिंह यूनिवर्सिटी में इसी महीने एक सेमिनार हुआ, जिसमें एक स्पीकर ने खुले तौर पर कहा कि इंसान कुरान पढ़ेगा तो हैवान बन जाएगा। हम अगले चार सालों में एक हिंदू राष्ट्र बनाएंगे और उसके बाद आप देखिएगा कि मुसलमानों की कोई औकात नहीं रह जाएगी। ये जो लोग हैं आपके (हिंदू) समाज को इस तरीके से सड़ा रहे हैं और आपके बच्चे ऐसे समारोहों में जा रहे हैं। हमारी (मुसलमानों की) उंगली दोनों की तरफ होगी। आप खींचकर अपने लोगों को वहां से निकालिए और हम खींचकर अपने लोगों को ऐसी जगहों से निकालेंगे।’

शरजील उस्मानी ने ये बातें नक्सल समर्थक लेखिका अरुंधति रॉय, पूर्व आईपीएस अफसर एस एम मुशरफ और रिटायर्ड जज बी जी कोलसे पाटिल की मौजूदगी में कहीं। ये बयान दिवंगत बालासाहेब ठाकरे की शिवसेना द्वारा शासित राज्य में दिए गए, जो कभी हिंदुत्व पर अपना पेटेंट होने का दावा करती थी और बीजेपी की तुलना में कहीं ज्यादा कट्टरपंथी थी। लेकिन देखिए, राजनीतिक मजबूरियों ने शिवसेना को कितना बदल दिया।

केसरिया बाने को अपनी पहचान बताने वाली शिवसेना अब अपने गढ़ पुणे में दिए गए शरजील उस्मानी के जहरीले बयानों पर चुप रहने को मजबूर है। छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज के नाम पर बनी शिवसेना अब इस मुद्दे पर खामोश है और शरजील के बयानों की निंदा करने के लिए कोई भी शिवसैनिक केसरिया झंडा लेकर सड़कों पर नहीं उतरा।

शरजील का वीडियो सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल होने के बाद एक स्थानीय वकील ने पुणे के स्वारगेट पुलिस स्टेशन में एक FIR दर्ज करवाई है। बीजेपी भी इस मुद्दे पर आक्रामक हो गई है और उसने आरोप लगाया है कि शिवसेना-राष्ट्रवादी कांग्रेस पार्टी-कांग्रेस की महाविकास आघाड़ी सरकार उस्मानी के खिलाफ नरम रुख अख्तियार कर रही है।

शिवसेना के खिलाफ सबसे तीखी टिप्पणी भारतीय जनता पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता और पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने की। उन्होंने कहा, ‘एक बाहरी व्यक्ति महाराष्ट्र में आता है और हिंदू समुदाय की भावनाओं का अपमान करता है। क्या महाराष्ट्र में मुगलों का शासन है, कि कोई भी आकर हिंदुओं का अपमान करके बगैर किसी कार्रवाई का सामना किए चला जाता है?’

महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री उद्धव ठाकरे के लिखे एक पत्र में फडणवीस ने कहा, ‘30 जनवरी को पुणे में एल्गार परिषद के कार्यक्रम में शरजील उस्मानी द्वारा हिंदू समुदाय के खिलाफ दिया गया बयान अपमानजनक, आपत्तिजनक और बेहद गंभीर है। इस पर राज्य सरकार को तुरंत सख्त कदम उठाने की जरूरत है। उसके द्वारा दिया गया बयान आपत्तिजनक और सांप्रदायिक सद्भाव को बिगाड़ने वाले थे। जब यह पता था कि एल्गार परिषद के पिछले कार्यक्रमों में क्या हुआ था, तो इस तरह के कार्यक्रम के आयोजन की अनुमति नहीं दी जानी चाहिए थी। शरजील के भाषण से अब यह साफ हो गया है कि इस कार्यक्रम को अनुमति प्रदान करना कितना गलत था। यदि कार्यक्रम के लिए अनुमति दी गई थी तो वहां होने वाली चीजों को अनदेखा करना ठीक बात नहीं है।’

कुछ इसी तरह की बात एनसीपी के वरिष्ठ नेता और महाराष्ट्र सरकार के मंत्री छगन भुजबल ने कही। उन्होंने कहा कि (उस्मानी को) बोलते वक्त संयमित रहना चाहिए था और जब धर्म की बात हो तो शब्दों का चयन सोच-समझकर करना चाहिए था।

अगर यह बाला साहेब ठाकरे का जमाना होता तो महाराष्ट्र की धरती पर, पुणे जैसे सांस्कृतिक शहर में कोई ऐसी बात कहकर नहीं जा सकता था। शिवसेना इसे हल्के में नहीं लेती लेकिन इस वक्त महाराष्ट्र में शिवसेना का चीफ मिनिस्टर है, उद्धव ठाकरे की सरकार है। इसके बाद भी उस्मानी के खिलाफ एक्शन की बात तो दूर, शिवसेना का कोई नेता इस भड़काऊ बयान की निंदा तक करने के लिए सामने नहीं आया। 2018 में इसी शिवसेना ने एल्गार परिषद के पहले कार्यक्रम में शामिल होने वाले लोगों को राष्ट्र-विरोधी और आतंकवादी कहा था। शिवसेना ने तब एल्गार परिषद की तुलना अल कायदा से की थी।

उद्धव ठाकरे को एक बार फिर पढ़ना चाहिए कि उस वक्त शिवसेना के मुखपत्र सामना के संपादकीय में क्या-क्या लिखा गया था। शिवसेना तब बीजेपी के साथ थी और उसने खुलकर कड़ा रुख अपनाया था, लेकिन अब समय बदल गया है। अब कांग्रेस और एनसीपी के साथ शिवसेना का गठबंधन है और अपनी सरकार बचाने के लिए पार्टी ने चुप रहने का फैसला किया है। इस चुप्पी के पीछे राजनीतिक मजबूरी है। पहले शिवसेना के नेता कुर्सी के लिए बोलते थे, और अब कुर्सी को बचाने के लिए चुप रहते हैं। शिवसेना की खामोशी ये साबित करती है कि राजनीति में विचारधारा कोई मायने नहीं रखती। सत्ता के समीकरण ही पार्टी के विचार और पार्टी की विचारधारा तय करते हैं।
