रेल हादसा : तकनीकी खामी, लापरवाही या साज़िश ?
ओडिशा में हुए भयानक रेल हादसे में कई नई बातें सामने आईं है. ये साफ हो गया है कि बालेश्वर में रेल हादसा तकीनीकी गड़बड़ी के कारण नहीं हुआ. इतना बड़ा हादसा इसलिए हुआ क्योंकि सिग्नल सिस्टम में छेड़छाड़ की गई थी. 288 बेकसूर लोगों की जानें इसलिए गई कि किसी ने आखिरी वक्त में कोरोमंडल एक्सप्रेस की लाइन बदल दी. यह गाड़ी मेन लाइन पर जा रही थी, अचानक उसे लूप लाइन पर डायवर्ट किया गया, जहां छह हजार टन लोहे से भरी मालगाड़ी खड़ी थी. 128 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से जा रही कोरोमंडल एक्सप्रेस लोहे की दीवार जैसी मालगाड़ी से जा टकराई. कुछ डिब्बे दूसरी मेन लाइन पर गिरे और दूसरी तरफ से आ रही बेंगलुरु-हावड़ा एक्सप्रेस भी हादसे का शिकार हो गई. अब सवाल ये है कि वो शख्स कौन था जिसने कोरोमंडल एक्सप्रेस को लूप लाइन पर डाला? रेलवे के बड़े अफसरों का कहना है कि ये काम गलती से नहीं हो सकता, ये इंसानी गलती का मामला नहीं है, ये तकनीकी खामी का मामला भी नहीं है. अब सीबीआई इस केस की जांच कर रही है. CBI ने एफआईआर दर्ज कर लिया है, सारे रिकॉर्ड अपने कब्जे में ले लिए. लेकिन अब कांग्रेस समेत दूसरे विरोधी दलों ने CBI जांच पर सवाल उठा दिए हैं. कांग्रेस ने आरोप लगाया कि सरकार सच्चाई को छुपाना चाहती है, वरना जांच का काम तो कमिश्नर ऑफ रेलवे सेफ्टी का है, इसमें CBI का क्या काम? कांग्रेस नेता दिग्विजय सिंह, तृणमूल कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष ममता बनर्जी और समाजवादी पार्टी के अध्यक्ष अखिलेश यादव ने सीबीआई जांच पर सवाल उठाए हैं, लेकिन जनता दल-एस के अध्यक्ष और पूर्व पीएम एच डी देवगौडा ने कहा कि सीबीआई जांच पर सवाल उठाना ठीक नहीं है. इस मुद्दे पर सियासत नहीं होनी चाहिए. देवगौडा ने कहा, वो पिछले तीन दिन से देख रहे हैं कि कैसे रेल मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव मेहनत कर रहे हैं, दुर्घटना स्थल पर खड़े होकर बचाव और पटरियों की मरम्मत का काम खुद देख रहे हैं. मुझे लगता है इस बात से कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता कि इस भयानक दुर्घटना की जांच कौन कर रहा है. जांच जो भी करे, सच सामने आना चाहिए. जांच इस बात की होनी चाहिए कि क्या इलेक्ट्रोनिक इंटरलॉकिंग सिस्टम ने ट्रेन चालक को गुमराह किया? जिस ट्रेन को मेन लाइन पर जाना था उसे ऐन वक्त पर लूप लाइन पर कैसे डाल दिया ? इलेक्ट्रोनिक इंटर लॉकिंग सिस्टम को दोषमुक्त माना जाता है. अगर सिस्टम फेल होता है या खराब होता है तो सारे सिग्नल रेड हो जाते हैं, सारी ट्रेनें रुक जातीं हैं. फिर गड़बड़ कहां हुई? कैसे हुई? इलेक्ट्रोनिक इंटरलॉकिंग में बदलाव किसने किया? अलग अलग लोगों की अलग अलग राय है. कोई कह रहा है कि लोकेशन बॉक्स में हुए मैनुअल चेंज की वजह से कोरोमंडल एक्सप्रेस को ग्रीन सिग्नल मिला. किसी का कहना है कि इंटरलॉकिंग सिस्टम से साजिश के तहत छेड़छाड़ की गई, जिससे ट्रेन लूप लाइन पर चली गई. हर किसी की अपनी थ्योरी है, अपना विचार है. इसलिए सीबीआई के सामने बहुत बड़ी चुनौती है, ये पता लगाना कि जो सिस्टम कभी फेल नहीं हो सकता, उसने धोखा कैसे दिया? क्या ये टैक्निकल फॉल्ट था या किसी की लापरवाही की वजह से ऐसा हुआ या फिर किसी साजिश के तहत इंटरलॉकिंग में बदलाव किया गया? जब तक इन सवालों के जवाब नहीं मिलते किसी को चैन कैसे आ सकता है? कांग्रेस कह रही है कि सरकार सच छिपाने की कोशिश कर रही है. ममता बनर्जी ने कहा कि सच सामने आना चाहिए और शुभेंदु अधिकारी ने तृणमूल नेताओं द्वारा वायरल की गई ऑडियो रिकॉर्डिंग पर सवाल उठा दिए. इसकी क्या जरूरत थी? देवेगौड़ा ने ठीक कहा, इस मामले में सियासत नहीं होनी चाहिए.
बिहार में पुल गिरा : ज़िम्मेवार कौन ?
एक और हादसे पर सियासत हो रही है और नीतीश कुमार को जबाव देते नहीं बन रहा है. भागलपुर में गंगा पर बना पुल दूसरी बार ढ़ह गया और छत्तीस घंटे के भीतर आज सरकार को IIT रूड़की की वो जांच रिपोर्ट भी मिल गई जो 14 महीने से नहीं मिली थी. इसके बाद बिहार सरकार ने लापरवाह अफसरों की भी पहचान कर ली, और जिस कंपनी को 1700 करोड़ में पुल बनाने का ठेका दिया था, उसके खिलाफ भी एक्शन ले लिया. भागलपुर में पुल का निर्माण कर रही एस पी सिंगला कंस्ट्रक्शन कंपनी को कारण बताओ नोटिस दिया गया. एजेंसी को 15 दिन के अंदर गंगा नदी से मलबा हटाने को कहा गया. बिहार पुल निर्माण निगम के MD को भी कारण बताओ नोटिस दिया गया. खगड़िया के एग्जीक्यूटिव इंजीनियर को सस्पेंड कर दिया गया. बिहार के अवर मुख्य सचिव प्रत्यय अमृत ने कहा कि जब पिछली बार पुल गिरा था तभी से इसकी डिजाइन को लेकर शक था, आईआईटी रुड़की की टीम की जांच रिपोर्ट आ गई है. पुल को नए सिरे से बनाया जाएगा. इसके लिए डिटेल्ड प्रोजेक्ट रिपोर्ट तैयार हौगी, और मॉनसून के बाद पुल को नए सिरे से बनाने का काम शुरु किया जाएगा. 1700 करोड़ की लागत से बना पुल ताश के पत्तों की तरह ढ़ह जाए तो सवाल पूछे जाएंगे और नीतीश कुमार को जबाव देना पड़ेगा. नीतीश कुमार खुद कह रहे हैं कि उन्हें तो पहले से पता था कि पुल बनाने में गड़बड़ी हो रही है तो सवाल है कि फिर कार्रवाई क्यों नहीं हुई? तेजस्वी कह रहे हैं कि सरकार IIT की रिपोर्ट का इंतजार कर रही थी. तो सवाल उठता है कि अगर रिपोर्ट का इंतजार हो रहा था तो फिर इस दौरान उसी कंपनी को पुल का काम शुरू करने की अनुमति किसने दी? क्यों दी? और सबसे बड़ा सवाल ये है कि IIT रूड़की को जो रिपोर्ट सरकार को 14 महीने से नहीं मिली थी, वो एक ही दिन में कैसे मिल गई? जब तक इन सवालों के जबाव सरकार नहीं देती, तब तक नीतीश सरकार की नीयत पर शक बना रहेगा और इसका राजनीतिक नुकसान नीतीश के साथ साथ तेजस्वी को भी होगा. एसपी सिंगला कन्स्ट्रक्शन कंपनी के देश में 34 प्रोजेक्ट्स चल रहे हैं. इस कंपनी को महाराष्ट्र में उद्धव ठाकरे की सरकार के वक्त मुंबई में गोरेगांव-मुलुंड लिंक रोड बनाने का ठेका मिला था. अब इस टेंडर की जांच करवाने की मांग शुरू हो गई है..गोरेगांव-मुलुंड लिंक रोड प्रोजेक्ट के के तहत का फ्लाईओवर बनाने का ठेका एसपी सिंगला प्राइवेट लिमिटेड को दिसंबर 2021 में बीएमसी ने दिया था, उस वक्त उद्धव ठाकरे मुख्यमंत्री थे. भागलपुर में ब्रिज गिरने के बाद एनसीपी, कांग्रेस और बीजेपी ने इस प्रोजेक्ट की क्वालिटी और टेंडर प्रोसेस की जांच की मांग की है. इस मामले में उद्धव ठाकरे पर इल्जाम लग रहे हैं. उनकी पार्टी के सांसद अरविंद सावंत ने कहा कि जब ये ठेका उद्धव सरकार ने सिंगला कंपनी को दिया था उस वक्त एकनाथ शिन्दे नगर विकास मंत्री थे, आज भी ये विभाग एकनाथ शिन्दे के पास है, इसलिए जिसको शक हो, वो एकनाथ शिन्दे से जाकर पूछ ले कि सिंगला कंपनी को ठेका क्यों दिया था.
पहलवानों का मुद्दा : सुलझाने का अब वक्त
चैम्पियन पहलवान बजरंग पूनिया और साक्षी मलिक ने बुधवार को खेल मंत्री अनुराग ठाकुर से मुलाकात की. खेल मंत्री ने उन्हें बातचीत के लिए बुलाया था. पहलवानों ने मांग की कि उनकी मुख्य मांग है, भारतीय कुश्ती महासंघ के अध्यक्ष बृजभूषण शरण सिंह को गिरफ्तार किया जाय। आज वार्ती अदूरी रही, और अभी बातचीत के कई और दौर हो सकते हैं. मुझे लगता है कि चैंपियन पहलवानों ने पिछले कुछ दिनों में बहुत संयम दिखाया है. सरकार से बात करने की पहल की है. इस मामले में कुछ एक्शन तो तुरंत लिए जा सकते हैं. सबसे पहला, पहलवानों को यकीन दिलाया जाए कि पुलिस बृज भूषण शरण सिंह को बचाने की कोशिश नहीं कर रही. अगर इसके बाद भी पहलवानों को पुलिस पर भरोसा ना हो तो जांच किसी दूसरी एजेंसी को दे दी जाए. दूसरा, बृज भूषण शरण सिंह को फेडरेशन के अध्यक्ष पद से तुरंत हटाया जाए और ये सुनिश्चित किया जाए कि जब भी फेडरेशन के चुनाव होंगे तो बृज भूषण का बेटा या उनका कोई रिश्तेदार या उनका कोई नॉमिनी फेडरेशन का अध्यक्ष नहीं बनेगा. तीसरी बात, महिला पहलवानों के दैनन्दिन मामलों की देखरेख के लिए किसी महिला प्रशासक को जिम्मेदारी दी जाए. मेरी जानकारी के अनुसार, इस दिशा में बात आगे बढ़ी है. बात अटकी है, बृज भूषण शरण सिंह की गिरफ्तारी को लेकर. मुझे लगता है कि अगर पुलिस की शुरुआती जांच में बृज भूषण दोषी पाए जाते हैं तो उनके खिलाफ एक्शन लिया जाना चाहिए. अगर हिरासत में लेकर पूछताछ करने की जरूरत हो तो वो भी किया जाना चाहिए. इन रास्तों से मामला सुलझाने के लिए दोनों तरफ से अगर कोशिश हुई तो रास्ता जरूर निकलेगा.
RAIL TRAGEDY: TECHNICAL GLITCH, NEGLIGENCE OR CONSPIRACY ?
Several new facts have emerged about the Balasore railway accident. It is now almost clear that the crash did not take place due to ‘technical error’. There was some ‘interference’ in the signal system. 288 people lost their lives because somebody at the last moment changed the line through which Coromandel Express was to pass. It passed through the loop line instead of the main line, and crashed at a speed of 128 kmph into a stationary goods train carrying 6,000 tonnes of iron ores. Some coaches fell on the other line derailing two coaches of Bengaluru-Howrah Express. Already, CBI has filed an FIR and has started its probe, but several political parties have questioned the need for CBI probe. Congress alleged that the government is trying to hide the truth by ordering a CBI probe. It said, normally, railway accidents are probed by Commissioner for Railway Safety. Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav have questioned the need for CBI probe. But Janata Dal (S) chief and former PM H D Deve Gowda praised Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for toiling hard at the accident site for three days, till restoration work was complete. He said, it was not proper to question CBI probe. I feel, it does not matter who is conducting the probe. Whosever may investigate, the truth must come out before the public. It must be investigated who misguided the loco pilot of Coromandel Express by tinkering with the electronic interlocking system, which is considered failsafe and error-free? Whenever there is a flaw in the signal system, all signals glow red, and trains are halted. Then where was the error and how? Who tinkered with the electronic interlocking system? Different people have varied views. Some said, a manual change in the location box gave a green signal to Coromandel Express. Some said, the interlocking system was deliberately tinkered with as part of a conspiracy. Since everybody has his own theory and conclusion, it has now become a big challenge for CBI to find out how a foolproof system gave the wrong signal. Was it a technical glitch or negligence? Or, was the interlocking changed as part of a conspiracy? Unless one gets answers to all these questions, it would be better, and I think, Deve Gowda is right, that politicians must avoid indulging in games.
BRIDGE COLLAPSE : WHO’S RESPONSIBLE ?
After the under-construction bridge collapsed in Bhagalpur, Bihar, on Sunday, the IIT Roorkee experts committee report which was being awaited since 14 months, was submitted within 36 hours. Bihar government has suspended an executive engineer, issued show cause notices to the MD of Bihar Pul Nirman Nigam Ltd and S P Singla Construction company, and directed that the debris be removed from Ganga river within 15 days. The company may be blacklisted, said the Additional Chief Secretary. When a Rs 1700 crore worth bridge collapses like a pack of cards, questions will be raised and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar must reply. He has already said that he knew there were serious lapses in construction. The question arises: why no action was taken? Tejashwi Yadav says, government was awaiting the IIT experts’ report. Then the question is: if the report was being awaited, why was permission given to resume work on the bridge? The biggest question is: How was the IIT experts’ report which was being awaited since 14 months, was submitted within a day? Unless these questions are addressed, there will be suspicions on the intentions of Nitish Kumar’s government. Both Nitish and Tejaswi Yadav will have to face political damage. Meanwhile, questions have been raised in Maharashtra about the same S P Singla construction company involved in 34 projects. When Uddhav Thackeray was chief minister, the contract for building Rs 6,000 crore worth Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) project, which includes a 12 km road and a flyover, was given to the company in December, 2021 by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. Now NCP, Congress and BJP have demanded probe into the quality of the project and the entire tendering process. Congress leader Ravi Raja has demanded that the contract be cancelled and the company be blacklisted. Shiv Sena (UT) leader Arvind Sawant replied that when Uddhav Thackeray govt have the contract to that company, Eknath Shinde was Urban Development Minister, and even today, the same department is with Shinde. Questions must be raised with the present CM Eknath Shinde, he said.
WRESTLERS’ ISSUE : TIME TO RESOLVE NOW
Champion wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Sakshee Mallikh on Wednesday met Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and demanded that the Wrestling Federation chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh must be arrested. The Sports Minister has invited the wrestlers for fresh talks relating to sexual harassment charges. Though the meeting was inconclusive, there will be further rounds of talks. I think our champion wrestlers have shown much restraint and the government has taken an initiative to speak to them. Let us hope some action will be taken at the earliest. First, the wrestlers must be convinced that Delhi Police is not trying to shield MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. If the wrestlers still persist in saying they do not trust the police, then the probe be given to some other agency. Second, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh must be removed immediately from the post of President of the Wrestling Federation of India and it must be ensured that whenever WFI elections take place, no relative or son or nominee of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh be made the president. Third, handling of day-to-day matters of women wrestlers be given to a female administrator. I think, some steps have begun in this direction. The only issue now left is about the wrestlers’ demand for arrest of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. I think if police finds the MP guilty of sexual harassment charges, action must be taken against him. If required, he should be taken into custody and interrogated. A way can be found out if efforts are made from both ends to resolve the issue.
रेल हादसा : ज़िम्मेदार कौन ?
सीबीआई की एक दस सदस्यीय टीम ने मंगलवार को ओडिशा के बाहानगा में उस स्थल का मुआयना किया जहां तीन ट्रेन आपस में एक दूसरे से टकरा गये थे. सीबीआई ने एक केस दर्ज़ किया है. अभी मृतकों की संख्या 288 तक पहुंच गयी है, तीन घायलों की मंगलवार को मौत हो गई. विरोधी दल अब रेलमंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव के इस्तीफे की मांग कर रहे हैं, लेकिन अश्विनी वैष्णव तीन दिन से लगातार दुर्घटना स्थल पर जमे हैं, और चौबीसों घंटे काम में लगे हैं. दुर्घटना स्थल पर ट्रेनों का आवागमन फिर से शुरु हो गया है. पटरिय़ों को ठीक कर लिया गया है. हादसे के 51 घंटे बाद रेलगाडियां फिर से चलने लगी हैं. अब सबसे बड़ा सवाल ये है कि आखिर इतना बड़ा हादसा हुआ कैसे. किसकी गलती से हादसा हुआ. जानकारों का कहना है कि ये टेक्निकल फॉल्ट नहीं हो सकता, इस हादसे के पीछे साजिश से इंकार नहीं किया जा सकता क्योंकि हमारे रेलवे में सिग्नल सिस्टम पूरी तरह बदल चुका है. पूरी दुनिया में ट्रेनें इलेक्ट्रॉनिक सिग्नल और इंटरलॉकिंग सिस्टम से चलती हैं. यही सिस्टम हमारे देश में भी है. पहले सिंग्नल सिस्टम मैन्युल था, अब सब कुछ टैक्निकल है. एक बार सिग्नल लॉक हो जाए तो अपने आप ट्रैक चेंज हो ही नहीं सकता. .इसलिए अब इस सवाल का जवाब मिलना जरूरी है कि आखिर दो ट्रेन एक साथ लूप लाइन पर कैसे पहुंच गईं. स्टेशन मास्टर का कहना है कि सिग्नल ठीक से काम कर रहे थे, रूट क्लीयर था. उन्हें खुद समझ नहीं आया कि कोरोमंडल एक्सप्रेस लूप लाइन पर कैसे चली गई. वहीं, हादसे की शिकार हुई ट्रेन के ड्राइवर ने बताया था कि उसे तो लूप लाइन में जाने का ग्रीन सिग्नल मिला था, इसीलिए ये सवाल उठ रहा है कि कहीं किसी ने साजिश के तहत सिंग्नल सिस्टम में गड़बड़ी तो नहीं की. अब इसी बात की जांच हो रही है. विरोधी दल भी सवाल उठा रहे हैं. उनका विरोध जायज़ है, इतना बड़ा रेल हादसा हुआ है, इसलिए इसकी जिम्मेदारी तो तय होनी चाहिए लेकिन रेल मंत्री का इस्तीफा मांगने से तो हादसे बंद नहीं होंगे. अश्विनी वैष्णव अगर राजनीतिक नेता होते .तो शायद वो भी पुराने रेल मंत्रियों की तरह इस्तीफा दे देते, लेकिन वह IAS अफसर रहे हैं, वह समस्याओं से भागने वालों में नहीं हैं. पहली बार मैंने देखा कि हादसे के बाद कोई रेलमंत्री बिना देर किए दुर्घटना स्थल पर पहुंचा हो, बचाव के काम से लेकर पटरियों को ठीक करवाने, मृत लोगों की शिनाख्त कराने, शवों को उनके परिवारों तक पहुंचाने के सारे इंतजाम खुद देख रहा हो. इतना बड़ा हादसा होने के बाद 51 घंटों में ट्रैक पर फिर से ऑपरेशन शुरू हो गया, ये भी पहली बार हुआ है. आम तौर पर इस तरह के हादसों के बाद सरकार मुआवजे का एलान कर देती है और फिर हादसे के शिकार लोगों के परिजन सरकारी दफ्तरों के चक्कर काटते रहते हैं. पुराने रेल हादसों के शिकार सभी परिवारों को आज तक मुआवजा नहीं मिला है, लेकिन मैंने पहली बार देखा कि बालेश्वर में रेलवे स्टेशन पर रेलवे के बड़े बड़े अफसर बैठे हैं, जिन शवों की पहचान हुई है, उनमें से जिनके परिवार वाले वहां पहुंच रहे हैं, उनका आइडेंटिटी प्रूफ देखकर उसी वक्त उन्हें पचास हजार रूपए नगद और साढ़े नौ लाख रूपए का चैक दिया जा रहा है. ये बड़ी बात है, इससे उन लोगों को फौरी मदद मिलेगी, जिन्होंने इस हादसे में अपनों को खोया है.. लेकिन बड़ा सवाल ये है कि जब तक ये पता नहीं लगेगा कि इतना बड़ा हादसा कैसे हुआ, किसकी गलती से हुआ, ये इंसानी गलती था या किसी साजिश का नतीजा, तब तक इस तरह के हादसों को नहीं रोका जा सकता. इसलिए मुझे लगता है कि इस दिल दहलाने वाले हादसे पर सियासत करने की बजाए फोकस हादसे की वजह का पता लगाने पर होना चाहिए.
बृजभूषण बनाम पहलवान : अभी दंगल जारी है
बृजभूषण शरण सिंह के खिलाफ आंदोलन कर रहे पहलवानों के साथ अमित शाह की जो बातचीत हुई उसका असर दिखाई दिया. साक्षी मलिक, विनेश फोगाट और बजरंग पूनिया ने अपनी अपनी ड्यूटी ज्वाइन कर ली, लेकिन जैसे ही तीनों पहलवानों ने नौकरी फिर से ज्वाइन की, तो बृजभूषण शरण सिंह के लोगों ने ये खबर फैलाई कि पहलवानों ने अपना आंदोलन वापस ले लिया है. तीनों चैंपियन पहलवानों ने तुरंत इस बात का खंडन किया. साक्षी मलिक, विनेश फोगाट और बजरंग पुनिया – तीनों ने साफ साफ लफ्जों में कहा कि ये खबर बिल्कुल गलत है. उनके शब्दों में कहूं तो, ‘हम न पीछे हटे हैं, न हमने आंदोलन वापस लिया है’. न ही महिला पहलवानों ने एफआईआर वापस ली है. उन्होंने कहा कि इस तरह की अफवाह फैलाना बेबुनियाद है. ये तीनों चैंपियन पहलवान रेलवे में नौकरी करते हैं. इनके ड्यूटी ज्वाइन करने का मतलब ये निकाला गया कि वो अब प्रोटेस्ट नहीं करना चाहते, तो इन पहलवानों ने कहा, इंसाफ मिलने तक हमारी लड़ाई जारी रहेगी. विनेश फोगाट ने कहा कि नौकरी इंसाफ के रास्ते में बाधा बनती है तो इसे त्यागने में हम 10 सेकेंड का वक्त भी नहीं लगाएंगे. बजरंग पुनिया ने भी इसी बात को दोहराया. पहलवानों का कहना है कि वो भले ही इस वक्त धरने पर नहीं हैं लेकिन इसका मतलब ये कतई नहीं है कि उनकी मांगें खत्म हो गई हैं या उनके इल्जाम गलत थे. साक्षी मलिक ने कहा कि आंदोलन ख़त्म नहीं हुआ है, वो सत्याग्रह के साथ रेलवे में अपनी नौकरी भी कर रही हैं और ये लड़ाई इंसाफ मिलने तक जारी रहेगी. शनिवार रात को दिल्ली में इन पहलवानों की गृह मंत्री अमित शाह से मुलाकात हुई थी. अमित शाह ने अच्छा किया, पहलवानों की बात सुनी, उन्हें इस बात पर आश्वस्त किया कि उनकी शिकायत की ईमानदारी से जांच हो रही है, उसमें पक्षपात नहीं होगा. असल में बृज भूषण शरण सिंह के खिलाफ आंदोलन कर रहे पहलवानों का सबसे बड़ा डर यही था. उन्हें लगता था कि पुलिस बृज भूषण शरण सिंह को बचाने की कोशिश कर रही है. उन्हें लगता था कि उन्होंने देश का नाम रौशन किया पर सरकार उन्हें गलत साबित करने की कोशिश कर रही है. इसी डर औऱ शक ने उनके आंदोलन को राजनीतिक रंग दे दिया, तमाम विरोधी दलों के नेताओं ने इसका फायदा उठाया, पहलवानों के धरने में जब सियासत घुस गई, प्रियंका गांधी, ममता बनर्जी से लेकर केजरीवाल तक सब ने पहलवानों का साथ दिया, फिर किसान संगठनों ने रेसलर्स के धरने को हाईजैक कर लिया. इसके बाद पहलवानों का धरना सरकार विरोधी मंच बन गया. लेकिन मुझे लगता है कि सबसे ज्यादा असर तब हुआ जब लोगों ने टीवी पर पुलिस को पहलवानों को सड़क पर घसीटते हुए देखा, नेशनल चैंपियंस के साथ पुलिस को जोर जबरदर्स्ती करते देखा. फिर जब ये पहलवान अपने मैडल गंगा में बहाने पहुंच गए तो लोगों की भावनाएं और भी आहत हुईं. वो दृश्य वाकई दुखी करने वाला था. पहलवानों के तंबू उखड़ गए, धरना खत्म हो गया लेकिन आंदोलन और बड़ा हो गया. पुलिस की ज्यादती की तस्वीरों का असर दूर तक हुआ. इसलिए जेपी नड्डा ने बृज भूषण शरण सिंह पर लगाम लगाई उन्हें बयानबाजी और सीना जोरी करने से रोका. सरकार का रुख देखकर पहलवानों में भी विश्वास जगा. अमित शाह का जो रुतबा है, उनकी जो पॉजीशन है उसकी वजह से भी रास्ता निकलने की उम्मीद बनी. अब पहलवानों के रूख में नरमी आई है, अब वो धरने पर नहीं बैठे हैं, गंगा में मेडल उन्होंने नहीं बहाए और अब उन्होंने ड्यूटी भी ज्वाइन कर ली है, लेकिन उन्होंने न सरेंडर किया है, न बृज भूषण शरण सिंह को माफ किया है. बातचीत एक सकारात्मक दिशा में जाने की शुरुआत है, पर जख्म गहरे हैं, भरने में वक्त तो लगेगा.
भागलपुर में पुल क्यों गिरा ?
बिहार के भागलपुर में रविवार को गंगा पर 1700 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से बना पुल ताश के पत्तों की तरह ढह गया. बड़ी बात ये है कि इस पुल का शिलान्यास 2014 में नीतीश कुमार ने ही किया था, जब वह बीजेपी के साथ मिल कर सरकार चला रहे थे. छह बार इस पुल को पूरा करने की समयसीमा बढ़ाई जा चुकी थी. इस पुल के कुछ पिलर्स पिछले साल भी गिर गए थे.इसके बाद जांच के आदेश हुए, IIT के एक्सपर्टस की कमेटी बनाई गई, लेकिन उसकी रिपोर्ट आती, उससे पहले ही एक बार फिर पुल गिर गया. नीतीश कुमार इस पुल का उद्घाटन करने की तैयारी कर रहे थे, लेकिन उससे पहले ही पुल का ज्यादातर हिस्सा गंगा की लहरों में समा गया. नीतीश कुमार ने कहा कि कुछ न कुछ गड़बड़ी है, तभी ये पुल बार-बार गिर रहा है, जांच शुरू हो चुकी है, जो भी दोषी होगा, उसे बख्शा नहीं जाएगा. बीजेपी नेता रविशंकर प्रसाद ने कहा कि अगर नीतीश को पुल की मजबूती पर शक था, तो एक्शन क्यों नहीं लिया, जब उन्हें लग रहा था कि भ्रष्टाचार हो रहा है, तो वो खामोशी से क्या पुल के गिरने का इंतजार कर रहे थे. भागलपुर में पुल के गिरने की तस्वीरें बिहार में भ्रष्टाचार का जीता जागता सबूत हैं. अब तेजस्वी यादव हों, या नीतीश कुमार, उनकी कोई भी सफाई गले नहीं उतरेगी. अगर एक बार पुल गिरता तो बात समझ में आती. एक बार हादसा होने के बाद दोबारा उसी कंपनी को काम दिया गया और फिर पुल गिर गया. इसे क्या कहा जाए. पता ये लगा है कि एस पी सिंगला कंस्ट्रक्शन कंपनी को ये पुल बनाने का ठेका मिला था. कंपनी नौ साल में पुल नहीं बना पाई. चौंकाने वाली बात ये है कि इसी कंपनी में बिहार में छह दूसरे पुल बनाने का ठेका भी नीतीश कुमार की सरकार ने दिया है. ये कंपनी तीन हजार करोड़ रु. की लागत से गंगा पर नया महात्मा गांधी सेतु बना रही है, तीन हजार करोड़ रु. में जेपी सेतु, मोकामा में 1200 करोड़ रु. में पुल और किशनगंज टाउन में फ्लाईओवर भी बना रही है. अब नीतीश कुमार की सरकार को ये बताना पड़ेगा कि जिस कंपनी का बनाया हुआ ब्रिज उद्घाटन से पहले धराशायी हो रहा हो. उसे इतने बड़े बड़े दूसरे पुल बनाने का ठेका क्यों दिया गया है. इस कंपनी पर नीतीश की सरकार इतनी मेहरबान क्यों है. नीतीश कुमार पुल गिरने से इस्तीफा तो नहीं देंगे लेकिन वो कम से कम इतना तो कर सकते हैं कि इस कंपनी की तरफ से बनाए जा रहे सभी पुलों का ऑडिट तो करवा लें.
BALASORE TRAGEDY: WHO’S RESPONSIBLE?
A 10-member CBI team on Tuesday visited the accident spot in Bahanaga near Balasore, Odisha and spoke to the Station Manager and other railway staff. Meanwhile, the death toll has mounted to 288, with three injured persons succumbing to injuries. Meanwhile, politics is going on in full swing over the three-train pileup. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav cited the three-train crash in Odisha to target the BJP government in UP. He said, ‘on one hand people are being shown dreams of a triple engine government, and here we see that three engines have collided’. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee questioned the death toll figure and alleged that the Railway is concealing the exact toll. Indian Railway has opened a free toll line for relatives to trace their missing ones. Authorities in AIIMS, Bhubaneswar are taking DNA tests of people in order to identify the claimants of bodies. Mamata Banerjee said, CBI probe will not bring out the true cause of accident. “As railway minister, I had given the Jnaneshwari Express accident probe to CBI, but nothing came out after 12 years. I gave the Sainthia accident probe to CBI, but there was no result. CBI can probe criminal cases, but this is an accident case. We have Railway Safety Commission, which can probe accidents faster. We want the truth to come out before people. This is not the time to conceal the truth”, she said. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge wrote a four-page letter to Prime Minister Modi demanding early filling of vacancies in Railways, since loco pilots are overloaded with work. Opposition parties have the right to raise question. The Balasore train accident is a big tragedy and accountability has to be fixed. But demanding resignations of Railway Minister will not end accidents. Had Ashwini Vaishnaw been a traditional politician , he could have resigned like other former railway ministers. But Vaishnaw has been an IAS officer, he is highly qualified, and he is a man who is not going to run away from problems. For the first time, I watched a Railway Minister rushing to the accident site and stay on, to personally supervise rescue operations, track restoration, identification and handing over of bodies to families. Even after a 3-train pileup, the tracks were restored within 51 hours. This has happened for the first time. Normally, after rail accidents, government announces ex-gratia assistance, and the relatives go from pillar to post for getting their cheques. But for the first time, I saw senior railway officials sitting at Balasore railway station, giving Rs 50,000 cash and Rs 9.5 lakh cheques to the next of kin of those who died, after checking their identity proof. This, I believe, is a big step. Relatives of those dead will get immediate assistance. They have lost their near and dear ones. But the main question remains. Until and unless it is established that the three-train crash occurred due to human error or due to sabotage, it will be difficult to prevent such accidents. I feel, instead of leaders trying to politicize the issue, they should help in finding out the exact cause of the accident.
WRESTLERS vs BRIJ BHUSHAN: THE BATTLE IS NOT OVER
India’s medal-winning wrestlers Sakshee Malikkh, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia, who have been leading the wrestlers’ agitation against Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, have resumed their duties in Railways, but, at the same time, they have also clarified that their ‘satyagraha for justice will continue’. On Tuesday, a team of Delhi Police went to Singh’s residence in Gonda district, UP, and recorded the statements of 12 persons in connection with charges of sexual harassment levelled against the MP. So far, the special investigation team has recorded statements of more than 125 people including complainants, witnesses and others involved. The three ace wrestlers refuted reports that they have called off their agitation. Sakshee Malikkh tweeted: “There are those who say our medals are worth Rs 15 each, they want us to quit our jobs. Ourlife is at stake, and jobs are nothing in comparison. If we find our job as obstacle in our path of justice, we won’t take less than 10 seconds to quit. Don’t try to intimidate us in the name of jobs.” Bajrang Punia tweeted: “I appeal to people with folded hands to stay away from rumours”. The three wrestlers had met Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday night and since then rumours have been circulating that they have called off their agitation. Amit Shah has done the right thing in listening to the wrestlers. He has promised them that their allegations will be sincerely investigated and there will be no partiality. The agitating wrestlers were fearing that the probe would not be impartial. They felt that the police is trying to shield the MP. They felt that despite bring laurels for the country, the government was trying to prove them wrong. Their fear and suspicion gave their agitation a political colour. Several opposition leaders tried to take advantage and their agitation took a political turn. From Priyanka Gandhi to Mamata Banerjee to Arvind Kejriwal, all these leaders extended support to the wrestlers. Farmers’ organisations tried to hijack their dharna. At the end of it, the dharna by wrestlers became a political forum. When visuals of police dragging the champion wrestlers on the ground were telecast on TV, when the wrestlers went to Haridwar to immerse their medals in river Ganga, the sentiments of people were hurt. These visuals were indeed sad to watch. Their tents were forcibly uprooted by police, their dharna had ended, but the movement took a bigger turn. Visuals of police excesses had far-reaching ramifications. BJP president J P Nadda directed Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh to stop giving statements and holding public meetings. Watching the government’s stance, the wrestlers regained confidence and decided to meet the Home Minister. Amit Shah’s position in the government kindled hope in the minds of wrestlers. Now the wrestlers have taken a softer stance. They are no more sitting on dharna, nor are they going to immerse their medals in Ganga. Instead, they have resumed their duties, but they have neither surrendered, nor have they forgiven Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Talks indicate a positive direction, but the wounds are deep and it will take time to heal.
A BRIDGE IN BHAGALPUR COLLAPSES
In Bhagalpur, Bihar, an under-construction bridge being built at a cost of Rs 1700 crore crashed on Sunday like a pack of cards. The foundation of the bridge was laid by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in 2014. The deadline for completion of work on this bridge was extended six time. Last year, some of its pillars crashed and an IIT experts’ committee was asked to probe. Before the inquiry report came, the entire bridge crashed. Nitish Kumar was making plans to inaugurate this bridge. BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad asked, if Nitish Kumar had doubts about the durability of the bridge, why no prompt action was taken. At the time of foundation laying, Nitish Kumar was in alliance with BJP, but now RJD is his ally. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said, there were doubts about the bridge being defective since the beginning, and there were plans to demolish the bridge after getting experts’ report. The collapse of Bhagalpur bridge is a living example of thriving corruption in Bihar. No amount of clarifications from Tejashwi Yadav or Nitish Kumar will convince common people. One could have understood if the bridge had collapsed once, but the same company was given the work even after the previous crash. From what I have learnt, the contract for building the bridge was given to S P Singla Construction company, but it could not complete it within nine years. The surprising part is that this company has been given contracts to build six other bridges in Bihar by Nitish Kumar government. This company is building the new Mahatma Gandhi Sethi on river Ganga at a cost of Rs 3,000 crore, the Jayaprakash Setu at a cost of Rs 3,000 crore, a bridge in Mokama at a cost of Rs 1,200 crore, and a flyover in Kishenganj town. Nitish Kumar’s government must explain why contracts were given for other bridges when the Bhagalpur bridge crashed several times. Why is his government so helpful for this company? Nitish Kumar will not resign, but the least he can do is to get all the bridges being built by this company audited by experts.
पहलवान बेटियों का समर्थन करने वाले पूर्व क्रिकेटरों को सलाम
चैंपियन महिला पहलवानों की तरफ से लगाए गए यौन शोषण के आरोपों का सामना कर रहे बृजभूषण शरण सिंह को शुक्रवार को कई तरह से मार पड़ी. सबसे पहली बात, FIR के वो ब्यौरे सामने आए जिनमें पहलवानों ने सीधे सीधे बृजभूषण शरण सिंह को यौन शोषण का दोषी ठहराया. सात महिला पहलवानों ने अलग अलग बयानों में पुलिस को बताया है कि बृजभूषण शरण सिंह ने उनके साथ किस किस तरह की अश्लील हरकत की. दिल्ली पुलिस की तरफ से दर्ज FIR में लड़कियों ने बृजभूषण शरण सिंह पर जो घिनौने इल्जाम लगाए हैं, उसकी पूरी जानकारी अब पब्लिक डोमेन में आ गई है. दूसरी बात, सुनील गावस्कर और कपिल देव जैसे वर्ल्ड क्लास प्लेयर्स ने कहा कि वो विनेश फोगाट, साक्षी मलिक और बजरंग पूनिया के साथ हैं. 983 में वर्ल्ड कप जीतने वाली टीम के चैंपियन क्रिकेटर्स ने कहा कि इन पहलवानों के साथ पुलिस ने जिस तरह का सलूक किया, वो दुखदायक था, .लेकिन फिर भी पहलवानों को धैर्य नहीं खोना चाहिए, उन्हें न्याय जरूर मिलेगा. तीसरी बात, खाप पंचायतों ने भी सरकार को चेतावनी दी कि अगर 9 जून तक बृज भूषण शरण सिंह के खिलाफ एक्शन नहीं लिया गया तो वो जंतर मंतर पर महिला पहलवानों के साथ धरना देंगे. आज पहली बार ऐसा लगा कि बृजभूषण शरण सिंह की नकेल थोड़ी बहुत कसी गई है, अब तक तो वो सीना तान कर खड़े थे, मैं फांसी पर लटक जाऊंगा, जैसे डायलॉग मार रहे थे. ऐसा लग रहा था कि सरकार उन्हें बचाने की कोशिश कर रही है. इसी इम्प्रेशन ने धरने पर बैठी चैंपियन बेटियों को परेशान कर दिया था. उन्होंने देखा कि पहलवानों पर बैरिकेड तोड़ने के केस में एफआईआर दर्ज करने में पुलिस ने देर नहीं लगाई पर बृजभूषण शरण सिंह के खिलाफ एफआईआर करवाने के लिए पहलवानों को सुप्रीम कोर्ट जाना पड़ा. पहलवानों को ये भी दिखाई दे रहा था कि बृजभूषण के खिलाफ एक्शन लेने के बजाय पुलिस ये साबित करने में जुट गई कि जिस लड़की ने आरोप लगाया वो बालिग है या नहीं. जिस बर्थ सर्टिफिकेट के आधार पर वो टूर्नामेंट खेलती रही उसकी जांच की जा रही है. ये सारे संकेत अच्छे नहीं थे. इसलिए खाप पंचायत, कांग्रेस , आम आदमी पार्टी , सबको इसमें कूंदने का मौका मिला पर आज जिस तरह से बृज भूषण शरण सिंह की बयानबाजी पर रोक लगी, आज जिस तरह से अयोध्या में होने वाले उनके शक्ति प्रदर्शन को रद्द करवाया गया, उससे लगा कि सरकार को एहसास हो गया कि इस मामले को जिस तरह से हैंडिल किया गया उसके पार्टी को नुकसान हो रहा है. पहलवान बेटियों की वो तस्वीरें जहां पुलिस उन्हें घसीटती हुई ले जा रही है, किसी को भी रुला सकती हैं, .उन्हेंनजायज नहीं ठहराया जा सकता, देश के लिए मैडल जीतने वाली बेटियों का ये अपमान किसी को भी आहत करेगा. उम्मीद करनी चाहिए कि पुलिस इस मामले में पक्षपात नहीं करेगी. शिकायत करने वाली पहलवान बेटियों को इंसाफ मिलेगा. यही समय की मांग है. मैं सुनील गावस्कर, कपिल देव, रॉजर बिन्नी , मदन लाल, और कीर्ति आजाद की तारीफ करूंगा कि उन्होंने महिला पहलवानों का साथ दिया. उनके बयान से इन प्लेयर्स की हिम्मत बढ़ेगी, उन्हें हौसला मिलेगा.
आप की अदालत में राहुल, मोदी पर बोले शशि थरूर
राहुल गांधी अमेरिका में रोज रोज ऐसे बयान दे रहे हैं, जिनपर यहां कांग्रेस को जबाव देना मुश्किल हो रहा है. .अब राहुल ने मुस्लिम लीग को सेक्यूलर बता दिया है. वॉशिंगटन में राहुल गांधी से सवाल पूछा गया था कि कांग्रेस मुसलिम लीग के साथ गठबंधन में क्यों है, तो राहुल ने कहा कि मुस्लिम लीग कम्युनल नहीं है., एक सेक्यूलर पार्टी है. ये सही है कि इंडयिन यूनियन मुस्लिम लीग रजिस्टर्ड पॉलिटिकल पार्टी है., इसलिए इसे टैक्नीकली कम्युनल नहीं कहा जा सकता. लेकिन फिर सवाल ये पूछा जा सकता है कि फिर राहुल गांधी और दूसरे विरोधी दलों के नेता बीजेपी को किस आधार पर कम्युनल कहते हैं.. देश के लोगों ने जनादेश दिया है. केंद्र और राज्यों में बीजेपी की सरकारें हैं.. इसके बाद भी राहुल गांधी बीजेपी को रोज सांप्रादायिक पार्टी कहते हैं. असल में ये मसला टैक्निकल कम पॉलिटिकल ज्यादा है, र राहुल का जवाब उनकी राजनीतिक अपरिपक्वता को दर्शाता है.. हो सकता है कि केरल की सियासत के हिसाब से, अपने चुनावक्षेत्र के समीकरणों के हिसाब से राहुल का बयान उनकी मजबूरी हो. लेकिन देश की राजनीति के हिसाब से ये बयान ठीक नहीं है. राहुल गांधी विदेश जाकर भारत के बारे में जो कहते हैं इसका जिक्र आपकी अदालत में भी हुआ. पर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री शशि थरूर से मैंने पूछा कि राहुल गांधी ने लंदन और अमेरिका में जाकर क्यों कहा कि भारत में लोकतंत्र मर गया है., लंदन में तो राहुल ने यूरोप के देशों से भारत के लोकतंत्र को बचाने की गुहार भी लगाई. शशि थरूर ने पहले तो इस बात को गलत बताया. कि राहुल ने ऐसी कोई बात कही है., जब मैंने उनके कहे शब्द हूबहू पढ कर सुनाये, तो शशि थरूर ने माना और फिर कहा कि राहुल गांधी को ऐसा नहीं कहना चाहिए था. शशि थरूर इंटरनेशनल अफेयर्स के एक्सपर्ट हैं. 29 साल यूनाइटेड नेशंस में रहे हैं. उनकी राय है कि देश के मसले सरहद के बाहर जाकर डिस्कस नहीं करने चाहि .लेकिन उन्होंने ये भी कहा कि इसकी शुरुआत प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने की थी. आपकी अदालत का ये शो आप शनिवार रात 10 बजे और रविवार सुबह 10 और रात 10 बजे इंडिया टीवी पर देख सकेंगे.
I SALUTE EX-CRICKETERS WHO SUPPORTED FEMALE WRESTLERS
For the first time, on Friday, came reports which suggest the noose is gradually tightening on BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the Wrestling Federation of India chief, who is facing sexual harassment charges from female wrestlers. Till Friday, he continued to be adamant threatening to hang himself if the charges are proved. It appeared the government was also trying to protect him. Such an impression unnerved our female wrestlers who were sitting on dharna at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The wrestlers found that , on one hand, while Delhi Police did not take time in filing FIR against them from trying to break police barricade during their march to Parliament, the complainants had to go to Supreme Court which had to issue direction to Delhi Police to file FIRs against the MP. The female wrestlers started feeling that Delhi Police, instead of taking action against the Federation chief, was trying to prove whether the female wrestler was adult or adolescent. Police was even investigating the veracity of the birth certificates submitted by the female wrestler ignoring that these certificates were used for participating in international tournaments. All these signals were not good. This allowed the Khap Panchayats, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and other busybodies to jump into the fray to reap political benefit. But on Friday, BJP leadership directed Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh to stop making public comments, and the UP government refused permission to him to address a rally in Ayodhya, the rally had to be cancelled at the last minute. These developments indicate that the government has realized that the ruling party could face problems because of the slipshod manner in which the entire matter was handled. Visuals of the female wrestlers being dragged by policewomen at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, can make any proud Indian weep. Such action cannot be defended. The insult crudely meted out to our daughters who won medals for our country can hurt any self-respecting Indian. One should now hope that police will stop being partial from now onwards and the daughters who lodged complaints will get justice. This is the call of time. I would like to praise Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Roger Binny, Madan Lal and Kirti Azad, who extended support to the female wrestlers. SHASHI THAROOR ON RAHUL IN ‘AAP KI ADALAT’
Rahul Gandhi has stirred a fresh controversy by describing Muslim League as a ‘secular party’, while interacting with media at the Washington National Press Club. BJP leaders questioned his knowledge about history and Partition, while Congress tried to differentiate between Jinnah’s Congress and the IUML (Indian Union Muslim League) in Kerala, which is an alliance partner of Congress in United Democratic Front. Indian Union Muslim League is a registered political party, hence it cannot be technically called a communal organization. But the question may be asked on what grounds are Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders describing BJP as communal. BJP has been given a mandate by the people of India. It is the ruling party both at the Centre and many other states. Yet, Rahul Gandhi almost daily calls BJP a communal party. Actually, the topic is less technical, and more political. Rahul’s reply displays his political immaturity. It may be that because of community based equations in his Wyanad constituency, such a remark could be his compulsion, but from a national and political point of view, his remark is not justified. Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor was my guest this weekend in my show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’. I asked him whether it was justified for Rahul to say in London and the US that democracy is dead in India. Shashi Tharoor first tried to defend him by saying that Rahul did not say that foreign forces should help in restoring democracy in India. When I read out his exact quote, Tharoor agreed and said that Rahul should not have made such a remark. Tharoor is considered an expert in international affairs. He worked for 29 years at the United Nations. He said, domestic matters of a country must not be discussed in foreign lands, but he also said, it was Prime Minister Modi who started doing this. I asked him what he thinks of the Australian PM Anthony Albanese who said ‘Prime Minister Modi is The Boss’ in Sydney, and of the Papua New Guinea PM who touched Modi’s feet. Tharoor admitted that he never noticed such things in his long international career. But he also reminded what former US President Barack Obama said about the best world leader. Obama had named Dr Manmohan Singh, he said. Tharoor said, respect for a Prime Minister means respect for India. ‘It is a matter of pride for India’, he said. राहुल की गलतियां : उनके इमेज प्लानर परेशान
कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने एक नया विवाद छेड़ दिय़ा. वॉशिंगटन में नैशनल प्रेस क्लब को संबोधित करते हुए राहुल ने का कि मुसलिम लीग सेक्यूलर पार्टी है और यह पार्टी किसी भी रूप में गैर-सेक्यूलर नज़र नहीं आती. उनसे सवाल पूछा गया था कि केरल में उनकी पार्टी का मुसलिम लीग के साथ क्यों गठबंधन है. अब इसको लेकर बीजेपी और कांग्रेस नेता एक दूसरे पर वार, पलटवार कर रहे हैं. बुधवार को राहुल गांधी ने स्टेनफोर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी में कहा था कि संसद की मेरी सदस्यता इसलिए चली गयी क्योंकि मैं भारत जोड़ो यात्रा पर निकला था. राहुल ने कहा कि उन्हें अयोग्य सिद्ध करने की योजना तो उसी दिन शुरू हो गई थी, जब उन्होंने भारत जोड़ो यात्रा शुरू की थी. राहुल ने कहा, मोदी सरकार को ये बर्दाश्त नहीं था कि भारत जोड़ो यात्रा सफल हो. इसीलिए उन्होंने एक महीने के भीतर कोर्ट में सुनवाई करवा करके मानहानि के आरोप में अधिकतम सज़ा दिला दी. लेकिन राहुल गांधी ने अमेरिका जाकर कई ऐसी बातें कह दीं जिनका मज़ाक उड़ा. उन्होने कहा कि गुरू नानक देव सऊदी अरब, श्रीलंका और थाईलैंड गए थे. गुरू नानक देव जी ने भी भारत जोड़ो यात्रा की थी. फिर फोन हाथ में लेकर हल्के अंदाज में दिखाया कि उनका फोन टैप हो रहा है. राहुल ने मंच से कहा, ‘मोदी जी मैं राहुल बोल रहा हूं, मैं जानता हूं मेरा फोन टैप हो रहा है’, हालांकि उन्होंने ये मज़ाक में कहा… पर आरोप गंभीर था. राहुल ने नए संसद भवन का भी मज़ाक उड़ाया, कहा ये भवन ‘अहंकार की इमारत’ है . राहुल गांधी के भाषण के जो अंश सामने आए हैं, उनमें नरेन्द्र मोदी के प्रति उनकी नफरत, और मोदी के कुर्सी पर बैठे होने से उनकी नाराजगी साफ दिखाई पड़ रही है. ये सही है कि काँग्रेस के लिए राहुल गांधी की अच्छी इमेज जरूरी हैं,उनको फाइटर के रूप में प्रोजेक्ट करना जरूरी है. कई साल तक राहुल गांधी की ये समस्या रही कि वो अपने बयानों से हंसी का पात्र बनते रहे, लोग उन्हें पप्पू कहने लगे. पिछले दो साल में कांग्रेस ने राहुल की इस इमेज को बदलने के लिए प्रयास किया, टीम बनाई, भारत जोड़ो यात्रा इसी प्रयास का हिस्सा थी. लंदन में राहुल के भाषण, इसी इरादे से आयोजित किए गए थे. फिर दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के छात्रों के साथ बातचीत, ट्रक ड्राइवर्स के साथ राहुल का वीडियो, इसी इमेज बिल्डिंग के इरादे से पब्लिसाइज़ किया गया. अब अमेरिका में कई शहरों में राहुल गांधी के भाषण, उनके लोगों से इंटरएक्शन इसी इमेज को और पुख़्ता करने के लिए किया गया है. इस प्रयास से किसी को कोई समस्या नहीं होनी चाहिए. पर राहुल गांधी पिछले नौ साल से मोदी का मज़ाक़ उड़ाने की कोशिश करते रहे हैं. ये उनका स्वभाव बन गया है. वह विदेश जाकर भी मोदी की इमेज पर चोट करते हैं. इससे भी उन्हें कोई नहीं रोक सकता. लेकिन मुझे पता चला कि राहुल की इमेज बनाने वाले इस बात से परेशान हैं कि राहुल सब कुछ ठीक-ठाक करते करते भी कुछ ऐसा कह देते हैं कि इमेज बिल्डर भी परेशान हो जाते हैं. जैसे ये कहना कि गुरु नानक देव थाईलैंड गए थे, तथ्य की दृष्टि से गलत है. कई सिख नेताओं ने इस बात पर भी आपत्ति की कि राहुल ने अपनी भारत जोड़ो यात्रा की तुलना गुरू नानक देव जी की यात्रा से कर दी. राहुल ने मोदी के दंडवत प्रणाम करने का मज़ाक़ उड़ाया, तो यहां वो वीडियो वायरल हो गया जिसमें राहुल गांधी महाकालेश्वर के सामने दंडवत प्रणाम की मुद्रा में है. राहुल अपने कारनामों से अपने इमेज बिल्डर की करी-कराई मेहनत पर पानी फेर देते हैं लेकिन कोई क्या कर सकता है. और उनकी टीम के लोग इस बात के लिए तैयार हैं कि अभी ऐसे कई और उदाहरण सामने आएंगे, जिन्हें हैंडल करना पड़ेगा. कांग्रेस में पुराने नेता ये मानते हैं कि मोदी का मज़ाक़ उड़ाने से, मोदी को नीचा दिखाने से चुनावों में नुक़सान होता है. ये लोग तो चुनावों के लिए हर जगह कर्नाटक का फॉर्मूला अपनाना चाहते हैं. फॉर्मूला है स्थानीय मुद्दों पर फ़ोकस करो, और जनता को मुफ़्त का माल देने के वादे करो. इसका एक उदाहरण कल रात राजस्थान में सामने आया.
राजस्थान में बंटेगी रेवड़ियां
अब तक कांग्रेस गारंटीज दे रही थी, चुनाव जीतने के बाद उन्हें पूरा करने का वादा कर रही थी, लेकिन राजस्थान के सीएम अशोक गहलोत ने चुनाव से पहले गारंटी पूरी कर दी. 100 यूनिट बिजली मुफ्त देने का एलान कर दिया, 200 यूनिट बिजली खर्च करने पर कोई फिक्स चार्ज और सरचार्ज नहीं लिया जाएगा, सिर्फ 100 यूनिट का पैसा लोगों को देना होगा. ये फैसला 1 मई से लागू होगा. इस फैसले का एलान करने के लिए अशोक गहलोत नें सुबह होने का इंतजार नहीं किया. रात दस बजे ट्वीट किया कि पौने ग्यारह बजे बड़ा एलान करेंगे, और रात ठीक पौने ग्यारह बजे गहलोत का वीडियो मैसेज आ गया कि अब राजस्थान के लोगों पर बिजली का बिल बोझ हल्का होगा. असल में कल अजमेर की रैली में प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने कहा था कि कांग्रेस के पास गारंटी का नया चुनावी फॉर्मूला है, लेकिन कांग्रेस की गारंटीज झूठी होती है. जैसे ही मोदी की पब्लिक मीटिंग खत्म हुई, उसके तुरंत बाद अशोक गहलोत ने वित्त सचिव समेत कई बड़े अफसरों को बुलाया, एक घंटे की मीटिंग के बाद तुरंत ही बिजली के बिल में छूट के एलान का फैसला हो गया. .गहलोत ने रात में ही एलान कर दिया. इसके बाद गहलोत ने प्रधानमंत्री पर हमला किया, कहा कि कांग्रेस की गारंटी पर सवाल उठाने वालों को ये जवाब है. गहलोत ने कहा कि कुछ लोग इसे चुनावी रेवड़ी कह रहे हैं, लेकिन सरकार का फैसला चुनाव के बाद भी लागू रहेगा. केंद्रीय मंत्री गजेंद्र सिंह शेखावत ने कहा कि गहलोत को लोगों का ख्याल चुनाव से सिर्फ चार महीने पहले क्यों आया. बहुजन समाज पार्टी की अध्यक्ष मायावती ने इसे चुनाव स्टंट बताया. राजस्थान कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष गोविंद सिंह डोटासरा ने कहा कि मायावती की बीजेपी से मिलीभगत है, मायावती बीजेपी का टूल हैं. अभी तो गहलोत ने 100 यूनिट बिजली मुफ्त में देने का फैसला किया है. मेरी जानकारी ये है कि अगले कुछ दिनों में गहलोत वैट कम करके पेट्रोल डीजल की कीमतों में कमी का एलान भी कर सकते हैं. गहलोत को लग रहा है कि इस वक्त मंहगाई बड़ा मुद्दा है, इसलिए उन्होंने राजस्थान में मंहगाई राहत कैंप शुरू किए हैं, 10 लाख तक मुफ्त इलाज की योजना शुरू की है.
पहलवानों का आंदोलन : सरकार की छवि के लिए ठीक नहीं
बीजेपी के सांसद बृजभूषण शरण सिंह की गिरफ्तारी की मांग को लेकर आंदोलन कर रहे पहलवानों के समर्तन में खाप पंचायतें भी मैदान में आ गई है. गुरुवार को यूपी के मुजफ्फरनगर में महापंचायत हुई, और शुक्रवार को हरियाणा के कुरुक्षेत्र में खाप पंचायत हुई. खाप पंचायतों ने एलान कर दिया कि अब वो बेटियों के सम्मान की लड़ाई लड़ेंगी, लेकिन ये लड़ाई कैसे आगे बढ़ेगी इसका कोई फैसला नहीं हुआ. किसी को इस बात की गलतफहमी में नहीं रहना चाहिए कि किसान आंदोलन के नेता पहलवानों के मान सम्मान के लिए मैदान में उतरे हैं. वो तो पहलवानों की परेशानी का फायदा उठाकर मोदी से अपना हिसाब चुकता करना चाहते हैं. खाप महापंचायत में जो लोग आए उनकी इन्टेंशन ठीक हो सकती है. उनकी सहानुभूति पहलवानों के साथ हो सकती है लेकिन ये आंदोलन किस दिशा में जाएगा, ये पंचायतों के कंट्रोल में नहीं है. पहलवानों की मजबूरी भी समझी जा सकती है. वो तो जहां से भी सपोर्ट मिलता है उसे स्वीकार करने के लिए मजबूर हैं, उनके पास कोई और रास्ता भी नहीं है. ममता बनर्जी भी महिला पहलवानों के साथ खड़ी हो गईं हैं. ममता ने कोलकाता में कैंडल मार्च निकाला. पहलवानों का मसला एक तरह से एंटी मोदी मोर्चा का रूप लेता जा रहा है. यह स्थिति मुख्य आरोपी बृज भूषण शरण सिंह को सबसे ज्यादा सूट करती है. उनके लिए तो बड़ा अच्छा है कि अपने आप को विरोधियों से बचाने के चक्कर में सरकार बृज भूषण शरण सिंह के साथ खड़ी हुई दिखाई दे रही है. बृज भूषण इसका पूरा फायदा उठा रहे हैं. जो आरोपी है वो सीना चौंड़ा करके खड़ा है और जो पीडिता हैं वो सपोर्ट की तलाश कर रही हैं. ये दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है. यह स्थिति न भारतीय़ कुश्ती के लिए अच्छी है, न ही सरकार की छवि के लिए.
RAHUL’S GAFFES : IMAGE PLANNERS WORRIED
A fresh war of words has broken out between BJP and Congress, after Rahul Gandhi described Muslim League as “a completely secular party” at the National Press Club in Washington on Thursday. Rahul said, “there is nothing non-secular about them”, when asked about his party’s alliance with Indian Union Muslim League in Kerala. While BJP leaders described Rahul as “illiterate” and his remarks as “sinister”, Congress leaders replied, Jinnah’s Muslim League and the party with the same name in Kerala is different. Rahul’s remarks in the US have been making headlines in the Indian media. On Wednesday, he mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prostrating full length before the ‘Sengo’l, the sceptre of Chola dynasty installed in Parliament. Rahul described the new Parliament building as “a monument of arrogance” and said Modi was trying to divert people’s attention from real problems by prostrating before idols. “I never prostrated before anybody”, remarked Rahul. In reply, BJP supporters circulated an old video of Rahul, titled ‘Pehchaan Koun’ (Identify him). The video taken in November last year shows Rahul prostrating before Lord Mahakaaleshwar (Shiva) at the famous shrine in Ujjain. BJP supporters asked, if Rahul can do so, what mistake did Modi commit? Congress wants to project Rahul Gandhi as a fighter. For the last several years, the problem with Rahul was that he became the butt of several jokes and people started describing him as ‘Pappu’ (childish). In the last two years, Congress have been trying to change Rahul’s image. They have formed a team to do so. Rahul’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ was part of that lexicon. Rahul’s speech in Cambridge University was part of that image building exercise. He was then shown dropping at a Delhi University hostel mess, chatting with students over meals, and a late midnight travel and talk with truck drivers from Ambala to Chandigarh. These images were publicized on social media, and now his visit to the US. Rahul’s interaction with cross sections of people in the US, including media, was part of that image building exercise. Nobody should have problems with this exercise, but one cannot ignore the fact that Rahul had been making fun of Narendra Modi for the last nine years. It has been part of his collection of jibes. He mocks Modi even in foreign countries and nobody can stop him. I have come to know that Rahul’s image builders are worried over his remarks that make him the butt of ridicule. Rahul, while praising the founder of Sikh religion Guru Nanak Dev, went on to say that the Guru had visited Thailand, which was factually incorrect. Several Sikh leaders objected to Rahul comparing his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ with Guru Nanak Dev’s travels across India and beyond. When Rahul mocked Modi’s prostration, videos came out of Rahul doing the same thing at the Ujjain shrine. By doing this, Rahul has been throwing cold water on the painstaking efforts of his image builders. What can one do? His team of image planners are ready to face similar instances in the coming months too, which they may have to handle. Old timers in Congress say that by mocking or denigrating Modi, the party has to bear losses during elections. But Congress strategists have made up their mind to adopt the Karnataka formula in all elections: Focus on local issues and promise freebies to voters. The latest example came from Rajasthan.
FREEBIES IN RAJASTHAN
On Thursday morning, most of the national newspapers carried full page ads of Rajasthan chief minister announcing ‘zero electricity bill’ for consumers up to 100 units and waiver of fixed charge and surcharge for consumption up to 200 units. BJP and BSP chief Mayawati described it as ‘pre-election gimmick’ to woo voters, while Gehlot said, the waiver will continue even after elections. This is only the beginning. I have information that Ashok Gehlot is going to announce more reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel. His government has been holding Inflation Relief Camps across the state. Gehlot has already introduced free hospital treatment scheme up to Rs 10 lakhs.
WRESTLERS’ PROTEST IS NOT GOOD FOR GOVT’S IMAGE
After the Maha Khap Panchayat in Muzaffarnagar, UP on Thursday, another Khap Panchayat took place in Kurukshetra, Haryana, on Friday over the issue of treatment meted out to medal winning female wrestlers. The Khaps have decided to call on President Droupadi Murmu and demand action against BJP MP and Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who is facing allegations of sexual harassment from female wrestlers. Nobody should be under the illusion that farmer leaders led by Naresh Tikait will launch agitation on the issue of ‘honour’ of female wrestlers. They are merely trying to take advantage of the wrestlers’ problems for their own advantage and trying to settle old scores with the government. The intentions of those who attended the Khap Panchayats may be good, they might be having sympathy towards the female wrestlers, but the Panchayats have no control in which direction the agitation will proceed. One can understand the compulsions of wrestlers. They are forced to accept support from any quarter because they have no other alternative. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee also came out in the open to take up the cause of wrestlers. She took out a candle march in Kolkata. A sort of anti-Modi front is evolving on the wrestlers’ issue. Such a situation suits the main accused Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who finds the government standing with him because of the opposition. He is taking full advantage and is adamant, while the victims are desperately seeking support. This is very unfortunate. Such a situation is neither good for Indian wrestling nor for the image of the government.
मोदी का 9 साल का रिपोर्ट कार्ड
प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने बुधवार को नए संसद भवन के उद्घाटन समारोह का बहिष्कार करने वाले कांग्रेस के नेताओं को करारा जवाब दिया. मोदी ने कहा, कांग्रेस ये पचा नहीं पा रही है कि देश के लोग एक गरीब के बेटे पर भरोसा क्यों करते हैं, परिवारवाद का विरोध करने वाला गरीब का बेटा देश का सम्मान कैसे बढ़ा रहा है. मोदी ने कहा कि कांग्रेस के नेताओं को परेशानी नए संसद भवन से नहीं, उन से है, कांग्रेस को गुस्सा इस बात का है कि गरीब का बेटा उनके भ्रष्टाचार औऱ उनके परिवारवाद पर सवाल खड़े क्यों कर रहा है. मोदी ने कहा कि नए संसद भवन से देश की शान बढ़ी है, लेकिन कांग्रेस ने देश के लिए गौरवशाली क्षण को अपने स्वार्थ की भेंट चढ़ा दिया. मोदी ने बुधवार से राजस्थान में चुनाव अभियान की शुरूआत कर दी . मोदी पुष्कर पहुंचे. प्राचीन ब्रह्मा मंदिर में निर्जला एकादशी की पूजा की, और अजमेर की रैली में कांग्रेस पर जबरदस्त हमले किए. मोदी ने अपनी सरकार के 9 साल का रिपोर्ट कार्ड लोगों के सामने रखा. बताया कि किसानों, महिलाओं, गरीबों और नौजवानों के लिए सरकार ने क्या क्या किया, कैसे हाइवे और रेलवे पर 25 लाख करोड़ रुपये खर्च किये गये. मोदी ने कहा कि लोगों को 2014 से पहले और उसके बाद के हालात की तुलना करनी चाहिए, फ़र्क़ समझ में आ जाएगा. मैं इस बात को लोकतंत्र के लिए शुभ संकेत मानता हूं कि प्रधानमंत्री अपने 9 साल के काम गिना रहे हैं. मोदी जनता को हिसाब दे रहे हैं. लोकतंत्र में सरकार की जवाबदेही होनी चाहिए. मोदी की ये बात सही है कि 9 साल पहले ज्यादातर बात भ्रष्टाचार को लेकर होती थी. विरोधी दलों को मोदी सरकार के कामों पर सवाल उठाने का हक है, उनके कमाकाज को परखने का अधिकार है, लेकिन अगर आप कांग्रेस का अभियान देखेंगे, तो कांग्रेस के नेता मोदी के कामकाज पर ज्यादा सवाल नहीं उठाते क्योंकि जो काम मोदी गिनाते हैं, वो ज़मीन पर दिखाई देता है. कांग्रेस का ज्यादातर समय मोदी को तनाशाह बताने में, मोदी को नीचा दिखाने में और मोदी का मजाक उड़ाने में जाता है. राहुल गांधी ने अमेरिका पहुंचकर यही किया. मोदी के साथ-साथ भारत के लोकतंत्र और भारत की संवैधानिक संस्थाओं पर भी हमला किया.
राहुल के बयानों से भारत को नुकसान होगा
अमेरिका दौरे पर गए कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने मंगलवार को कैलिफोर्निया में प्रवासी भारतीयों से कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के राज में लोकतंत्र और संवैधानिक संस्थान कमज़ोर हो गये हैं. राहुल ने कहा, मोदी किसी की सुनते नहीं हैं, मोदी खुद को भगवान समझते हैं, भारत में विरोधियों के लिए राजनीति के सभी टूल खत्म कर दिए गए, सभी संस्थाओं पर बीजेपी और RSS का कब्जा हो गया है, देश का सारा पैसा सिर्फ पांच बड़े लोगों के पास पहुंच गया है, ग़रीबी बढ़ रही है, बेरोज़गारी चरम पर है, आपसी झगड़े बढ़ रहे हैं, मुसलमानों पर जुल्म हो रहे हैं, सरकार विपक्ष की आवाज़ दबा रही है. ऐसी बहुत सारी बातें राहुल गांधी ने कहीं लेकिन इनमें कोई नई बात नहीं थी. राहुल ने जो बातें लंदन में कही थी, क़रीब क़रीब वही बातें अमेरिका में भी दोहराईं, सिर्फ जगह बदली, तारीख़ बदली, श्रोता बदले, राहुल वही थे और उनके डायलॉग वही थे. लंदन में राहुल गांधी ने जो बातें कहीं थी, उस वक्त उनकी आलोचना हुई थी, लेकिन उसका उनपर कोई असर नहीं हुआ. राहुल इंदिरा गांधी की इस विरासत को नहीं मानते कि अपने घर के झगड़ों की चर्चा बाहर की दुनिया में नहीं करनी चाहिए. कांग्रेस में कई ऐसे नेता हैं जो मानते हैं कि राहुल को विदेशों में जाकर ये नहीं कहना चाहिए कि भारत में मुसलमानों पर जुल्म हो रहे हैं, क्योंकि पाकिस्तान और चीन इसका फायदा उठाते हैं. कांग्रेस में कई नेता ये भी मानते हैं कि विदेश में जाकर भारत के लोकतंत्र को कमजोर बताने से हमारी संवैधानिक संस्थाओं पर सवाल उठाने से देश का नुकसान होता है, लेकिन फिर वो ये भी कहते हैं कि ये काम पहले मोदी ने किया. मोदी ने पहले विदेश में जाकर कहा कि उनके प्रधानमंत्री बनने से पहले देश में कुछ नहीं हुआ. उन्हें मोदी की इस बात पर भी आपत्ति है कि पहले बाहर के मुल्कों में रहने वालों को अपने आप को भारतीय कहने में शर्म आती थी. मैं एक बार के लिए मान लेता हूं कि मोदी को ये नहीं कहना चाहिए था लेकिन इसमें ऐसा कुछ नहीं था जिसका इस्तेमाल देश के दुश्मन भारत के खिलाफ कर सकें. राहुल जो कह रहे हैं उसका इस्तेमाल देश के दुश्मन करेंगे, इसका नुकसान भारत को होगा. अगर राहुल ये सोचते हैं कि इससे मोदी का नुकसान होगा या बीजेपी का नुकसान होगा, तो वो गलत सोचते हैं. जब ऑस्ट्रेलिया के प्रधानमंत्री ने मोदी को ‘बॉस’ कहा, या अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति जो बाइडेन ने मोदी की लोकप्रियता की बात की, या पापुआ न्यू गिनी के प्रधानमंत्री ने मोदी के पैर छुए, तो ये भारत का सम्मान है, भारत के 140 करोड़ लोगों का सम्मान है, इसे सबको स्वीकार करना चाहिए.
हकीकत ये है कि राहुल गांधी कन्फ्यूज्ड हैं, उन्हें ये समझ नहीं आ रहा है कि नरेन्द्र मोदी को रोकें, तो कैसे रोकें, उन्हें चुनाव में कैसे हराएं.
असल में नरेन्द्र मोदी और राहुल गांधी में एक बुनियादी फर्क है. नरेन्द्र मोदी कभी आराम के मूड में नहीं होते, कभी छुट्टी नहीं लेते, एक चुनाव खत्म होता है, दूसरे की तैयारी में लग जाते हैं. कर्नाटक में जीत के बाद राहुल गांधी अमेरिका चले गए, लेकिन जिस दिन 11 मई को कर्नाटक में लोग वोट डाल रहे थे, उसी दिन मोदी ने राजस्थान चुनाव की तैयारी शुरू कर दी थी. 11 मई को मोदी राजस्थान में थे, श्रीनाथद्वारा में पूजा करने के बाद रैली की थी. बुधवार को पुष्कर गए और अजमेर में रैली की. मोदी अपने काम पर भरोसा कर रहे हैं, और कांग्रेस को अपनी गारंटीज पर यकीन है. पिछले 8 महीने में मोदी 6 बार राजस्थान का दौरा कर चुके हैं.
राजस्थान में कांग्रेस के लिये खतरे की घंटी
मोदी को मालूम है कि राजस्थान में बीजेपी और कांग्रेस के सामने एक ही समस्या है – गुटबाज़ी. अगर इसे दूर कर लिया, तो बात बन सकती है, इसलिये मोदी ने सबसे पहले गुटबाज़ी को खत्म करने में ताकत लगाई. काफी हद तक इसे दूर कर किया, बुधवार को अजमेर रैली के मंच पर वसुंधरा राजे, गजेंद्र सिंह शेखावत, राजेंद्र सिंह राठौर और सी. पी. जोशी सभी एक साथ दिखाई दिये. ऐसा लग रहा है कि राजस्थान बीजेपी के नेताओं को साफ बता दिया गया है कि अगला चुनाव वसुंधरा राजे के नेतृत्व में लड़ा जाएगा. दूसरी तरफ कांग्रेस मुश्किल में है. मुख्यमंत्री अशोक गहलोत और सचिन पायलट की दूरियां खत्म करने की सारी कोशिशें नाकाम होती दिख रही है. बुधवार को सचिन पायलट अपने चुनाव क्षेत्र टोंक में थे. पायलट ने रैली में कहा कि वसुंधरा राजे शासन के दौरान हुए भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों की जांच के लिए उन्होंने गहलोत सरकार को जो अल्टीमेटम दिया था, वह खत्म हो गया है, अब उन्हें आगे क्या करना है, इसका फैसला जल्दी करेंगे.गहलोत ने कहा था कि सबको धैर्य रखना चाहिए, सब्र का फल मीठा होता है, इस पर सचिन पायलट ने कहा कि उम्र में बड़े नेताओं को चाहिए कि वो नौजवानों को आगे आने का मौका दें, कुछ बुजुर्ग नेता खुद को असुरक्षित महसूस कर रहे हैं, इसीलिए वो युवा नेताओं को पैर पकड़कर नीचे खींच लेते हैं. सचिन पायलट द्वारा उठाया गया भ्रष्टाचार के खिलाफ कार्रवाई और रोजगार का मुद्दा तो गहलोत को घेरने के लिए है. हकीकत ये है कि सचिन पायलट चाहते हैं कि कांग्रेस राजस्थान में चुनाव से पहले उन्हें मुख्यमंत्री का चेहरा घोषित करे. पांच साल पहले किया गया अपना वादा पूरा करे. लेकिन आजकल अशोक गहलोत को कांग्रेस हाईकमान का समर्थन है, इसलिए उन्होंने साफ कह दिया है कांग्रेस हाईकमान को कोई मजबूर नहीं कर सकता, उन्होंने सचिन पायलट को धैर्य रखने का उपदेश दिया. मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे और राहुल गांधी को लगता है कि सचिन पायलट की नाराजगी झेली जा सकती है लेकिन चुनाव से पहले अशोक गहलोत को नाराज करना पैरों पर कुल्हाड़ी मारने जैसा होगा. सचिन पायलट सब्र करने के लिए तैयार होंगे, ये मुश्किल लगता है. सचिन का अल्टिमेटम राजस्थान में कांग्रेस के लिए खतरे की घंटी है.
MODI PRESENTS HIS 9-YEAR RULE REPORT CARD
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his first public rally after completing nine years in office, on Wednesday, listed out the achievements of his government. At the same time, he lashed out at Congress saying it “cannot digest the fact that the son of a poor family can build and inaugurate a new Parliament building”. He said, “they are angry why the son of the poor is questioning them on the issue of corruption and dynastic politics.” With Rajasthan set to go for assembly polls later this year, Modi began his party’s month-long contact campaign from Ajmer. While listing the welfare measures taken by his government for women, poorer sections, farmers and youth, Modi said, people should compare the situation that prevailed in 2014 and now, and they will know the difference. He said, Rs 25 lakh crore were spent to build new highways, roads and railway. I consider this a good sign for democracy that our Prime Minister is listing the achievements of his government during the last nine years. In a democracy, the government must be accountable. Modi is right when he says that nine years ago, there used to be too many cases of high-end corruption. Opposition parties have the right to question the work of Modi government and judge his performance. But if you look at the Congress campaign, their leaders do not ask questions about the performance of Modi government. This is because the achievements that Modi lists out in his speeches, are visible on ground. Congress leaders spend most of their time on labelling Modi as “dictator”, defaming the Prime Minister and making fun of him.
RAHUL’S REMARKS WILL SURELY HURT INDIA
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while addressing NRIs in California on Tuesday, mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and described him as a “specimen”. Rahul Gandhi said, “There is a group of people in India who are convinced they know everything. They think they know even more than God. They can sit with God and explain the Universe. And of course, our prime minister is one such specimen. They think they can explain history to historians, science to scientists and warfare to the army, But at the core of it is mediocrity. They are not ready to listen.” He ridiculed Modi for lying prostrate full length in front of the ‘Sengol’ (sceptre) during the inauguration of new Parliament building. Rahul Gandhi is almost repeating in the US, what he had earlier said during his visit to UK. He was strongly criticized for bringing a bad name for India at that time, but those criticisms have had no effect on him. Rahul does not believe in Indira Gandhi’s legacy that Indians should not speak about domestic differences on foreign shores. There are many Congress leaders who still believe in this principle. They feel, Rahul should not say in foreign countries that Muslims in India are facing atrocities, because Pakistan and China take undue advantage of his remarks. Several Congress leaders also believe that by saying democracy and Constitutional institutions in India have become weaker, he is causing damage to the country. Rahul Gandhi’s supporters say, even Modi did the same in the past. They say, Modi said in foreign countries that no progress took place in India before he became PM. They also object to Modi claiming that earlier our countrymen used to feel shame on introducing themselves as Indians while they are abroad. Even for a moment, even if I agree that Modi should not have said this, I feel there was nothing in his remark which could be used by our enemies against India. The remarks that Rahul Gandhi is making will be used by our enemies and it can harm India. If Rahul thinks that his remarks will harm Modi or the BJP, he is mistaken. When the Australian PM Anthony Albanese said at the Sydney NRI event that “Prime Minister Modi is the Boss” or when the US President Joe Biden spoke about Modi’s popularity or when the PM of Papua New Guinea touched Modi’s feet, every Indian was elated. It brings pride and glory to 140 crore Indians. We should all accept this. The fact is that Rahul Gandhi is confused. He is unable to find ways on how to stop Modi from winning elections. In fact, there is a basic difference between Modi and Rahul Gandhi. Modi is never in a restive mood. He never goes on holidays. The moment an election is over, he begins preparing for the next. After Congress won Karnataka polls, Rahul Gandhi immediately proceeded to the US. But on May 11, the day voters were casting their votes in Karnataka, Modi was in Nathdwara addressing a rally and preparing the ground for Rajasthan poll campaign. On Wednesday, Modi was again in Ajmer, Rajasthan, addressing a rally after performing prayers at Pushkar shrine. Modi visited Rajasthan six times during the last eight months. RAJASTHAN: ALARM BELLS ARE RINGING FOR CONGRESS
Alarm bells are ringing in Rajasthan Congress. On Wednesday, dissident leader Sachin Pilot was in his constituency Tonk, where he told a rally that the deadline that he gave for instituting probes into corruption charges against former CM Vasundhara Raje is now over, and he would soon decide on his next step. Replying to CM Ashok Gehlot’s ‘advice’ that young leaders should be patient and that the fruits of patience are sweet, Pilot hit back and said, ‘it is time for older politicians to give opportunity to the younger ones’. Without naming Gehlot, he said, “some old leaders are now feeling insecured, and that is the reason why they are pulling the legs of younger ones.” Sachin Pilot’s line is clear: his demand for instituting probe into corruption charges against Vasundhara Raje are actually meant to harass Gehlot. The ground reality is that Pilot wants the Congress to project him as the chief ministerial candidate for this year’s assembly elections. He wants the party leadership to fulfill the promise made to him five years back. But Ashok Gehlot has the backing of Congress high command. He has clearly said, nobody can force the high command in taking any decision. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi feel that Pilot’s unhappiness can be managed, but if Gehlot’s government is destabilized, it may amount to digging one’s own grave. Pilot may soon lose his patience. Now that his deadline is over, warning bells have started ringing for Congress in Rajasthan.
लव जिहाद की घटनाएं रोकने के उपाय
बजरंग दल ने ऐलान कर दिया है कि अगर लव जिहाद के मामले न रुके, अगर पुलिस ने इन पर रोक न लगाई, हिन्दू बेटियों के साथ ज्यादती न रूकी तो बजरंग दल एंटी रोमियो फोर्स गठित करेगा. बजरंग दल खुद पुलिसिंग का काम करेगा. विश्व हिंदू परिषद के संयुक्त महासचिव सुरेन्द्र जैन ने मंगलवार को कहा कि हम हिन्दू बेटियों को इस तरह से चाकुओं से गोदते हुए नहीं देख सकते. बागेश्वर धाम वाले धीरेन्द्र कृष्ण शास्त्री ने कहा कि अब वक्त आ गया है हिन्दुओं को एकजुट होकर बेटियों की सुरक्षा के लिए कदम उठाने होंगे. ये बात सुनने में साधारण लग सकती हैं, लेकिन ये देश में सुलग रही चिंगारी की तरफ इशारा करती है, इसलिए इस पर बात पर गौर करना जरूरी है. असल में, दिल्ली में साक्षी की सरेआम चाकुओं से गोदकर हत्या करने वाले साहिल ने पुलिस के सामने गुनाह कबूल कर लिया है और ये कहा है कि उसे साक्षी का कत्ल करने का कोई अफसोस नहीं है. उसकी कलाई पर कलावा मिला था और गले में रुद्राक्ष मिला, इसलिए बात और बड़ी हो गई. दिल्ली के अलावा लखनऊ, शाहजहांपुर, उत्तरकाशी, बरेली, पटना, कानपुर, मेरठ, और बीकानेर समेत कई शहरों से लव जिहाद की खबरें आईं हैं.कहीं जबरन हिन्दू लड़की का धर्मपरिवर्तन करवाकर निकाह करने और जुल्म करने का इल्जाम है, तो कहीं बहला फुसला कर नाबालिग हिन्दू लड़की को अगवा करने का आरोप है. कहीं धर्म परिवर्तन और निकाह से इंकार करने पर हमला करने और जान से मारने की धमकी का मामला है. हर जगह एक बात समान है.. लड़का मुस्लिम है, लड़की हिन्दू है, पहचान छुपाकर दोस्ती की कोशिश की गई, जब असलियत सामने आई तो मारपीट, धमकी और अपहरण की कोशिश हुई. जब अचानक इस तरह के बहुत से मामले सामने आए तो हिन्दू संगठन मैदान में आ गए. ये चिंता की बात है. मुझे लगता है कि ये मुद्दा सियासत का नहीं, संजीदगी से सोचने का है. जब ऐसी कोई घटना होती है, जिसमें कोई मुस्लिम लड़का, किसी हिंदू लड़की से संबंध बनाता है, फिर उस पर ज़ुल्म करता है, उसकी हत्या कर देता है, तो लव जिहाद का सवाल उठना स्वाभाविक है.आफ़ताब हो या साहिल, जब लोग देखते हैं कि किस बेरहमी से लड़की की हत्या की गई, तो इसका समाज के दिलो दिमाग़ पर गंभीर प्रभाव पड़ता है. पिछले कुछ साल की घटनाएं देखें, तो केरल में ईसाई लड़कियों के साथ जब इसी तरह की घटनाएं हुईं, तो पादरियों ने आवाज़ उठाई. कुछ दिन पहले जैन समाज के लोगों ने लव जिहाद को लेकर प्रोटेस्ट किया. इसमें दो चीज़ें समझने की हैं. एक, हो सकता है कि सारी घटनाएं लव जिहाद से जुड़ी न हों, हर केस में लड़के ने पहचान छुपाकर, लड़की से दोस्ती की हो, इसके सबूत नहीं मिलते, लेकिन ऐसी एक भी वारदात होती है, तो बात बहुत दूर तक जाती है. फिर बाक़ी घटनाओं को भी इसी नज़र से देखा जाता है. इसलिए समस्या गंभीर और पेचीदा है. अगर दिल्ली वाली घटना को देखें, यदि साहिल के हाथ पर कलावा न होता, उसके गले में रुद्राक्ष न मिलता, तो बात इतनी न बढ़ती. इसे एक जघन्य अपराध मानकर इसकी जांच होती लेकिन, अब इस केस का दायरा बड़ा हो गया है. बजरंग दल समेत कई संगठन इसमें कूद पड़े हैं. हालांकि ये बात सही है कि इस समस्या का इलाज हिन्दू सेना, एंटी रोमियो फोर्स या मुस्लिम फोर्स बनाने से नहीं होगा. इसका एक ही इलाज है. माता-पिता अपने बच्चों को अच्छे- बुरे, सही-गलत का फर्क बताएं, उनसे बात करें. बच्चों में इतना भरोसा पैदा करें कि वो हर बात अपने मां-बाप से शेयर कर सकें. और इसके साथ-साथ उलेमा और मौलाना भी मुस्लिम लड़कों को समझाएं कि पहचान छुपाकर, किसी को धोखा देकर उससे रिश्ता बनाना ठीक नहीं है, तभी इस तरह की समस्या से बचा सकता है. वरना इस तरह के मामले समाज में दूरियां बढ़ाएंगे.
सरकार पहलवानों से बातचीत शुरू करे
जिस तरह पहलवान मंगलवार को अपने मेडल लेकर गंगा में बहाने हरिद्वार पहुंचे, जिस तरह मेडल गोद में रखकर वो रोते दिखाई दिए, ये दृश्य दु:खी करने वाला था. ये सोच कर ही तकलीफ़ हो रही थी कि देश की शान बढ़ाने वाले ये मेडल अगर वाक़ई में पानी में बहा दिए गए, तो कितना बड़ा नुक़सान हो जाएगा. मैं तो नरेश टिकैत की तारीफ़ करूंगा, जिन्होंने हमारे चैंपियंस को समझाया और उन्हें मेडल गंगा में बहाने से रोका. असल में पहलवानों को लगता है कि सरकार में कोई उनकी बात सुनने को तैयार नहीं है. उन्हें लगता है कि सारी सरकार बृजभूषण शरण सिंह को बचाने में लगी है. पहलवानों को लगता है कि पुलिस के बल पर उनकी आवाज़ को दबाया जा रहा है, इसलिए उन्हें जहां से भी सहारा मिलता है, जहां से भी उम्मीद की किरण दिखाई देती है, वो उसके पास पहुंच जाते हैं, जो भी उनकी आवाज़ उठाने को तैयार होता है, वो उसी से बात करने को तैयार हो जाते हैं. इस चक्कर में, बहुत सारे ऐसे लोग पहलवानों के इस आंदोलन में घुस गए हैं, जो उनकी तकलीफ़, उनके ग़ुस्से का फ़ायदा उठाना चाहते हैं. इन सारी बातों का एक ही हल है. खेल मंत्रालय में सर्वोच्च स्तर पर पहल की जाए. इन पहलवानों से बात हो, उन्हें भरोसा दिलाया जाए कि सरकार उनके ख़िलाफ़ नहीं है, उनके मान-सम्मान की रक्षा की जाएगी. मुझे लगता है जब तक पहलवानों के साथ कम्युनिकेशन गैप बना रहेगा, ये बात और बिगड़ती रहेगी.
मणिपुर : आपसी बातचीत ही एकमात्र हल
पिछले एक महीने से हिंसा के शिकार मणिपुर में हालात धीरे-धीरे बेहतर हो रहे हैं. मंगलवार को मणिपुर के 11 ज़िलों में कर्फ्यू में छह घंटे की ढील देनी शुरू की गई. जब राजधानी इम्फाल में कर्फ्यू में ढील दी गई, तो लोग ज़रूरी सामान ख़रीदने बाहर निकले. बाज़ारों में हालात सामान्य दिखे. मणिपुर में तीन मई से शुरू हुई हिंसा में अब तक 80 लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है, हिंसा, लूट-पाट और आग़ज़नी के आरोप में नौ हज़ार से ज़्यादा लोगों को गिरफ़्तार किया गया है. हिंसा में बेघर हुए 10 हज़ार से ज़्यादा लोगों को आर्मी कैम्प्स में रखा गया है. गृह मंत्री अमित शाह मणिपुर में लगातार अलग-अलग गुटों और नेताओं से बातचीत कर रहे हैं. उन्होंने सभी से अपील की कि वे कम से कम दो हफ्ते के लिए शांति बनाये रखें, सरकार उनकी मांगों पर ज़रूर गौर करेगी. मणिपुर में हिंसा की वजह बहुत पुरानी है. यहां मैतेई समुदाय का कुकी समुदाय के साथ दशकों से झगड़ा चल रहा है. अब बात इसलिए बढ़ गई क्योंकि कोर्ट ने सरकार को मैतई समुदाय को जनजाति या ट्राइबल दर्जा दिए जाने की मांग पर विचार करने का आदेश दे दिया. इसका कुकी समुदाय विरोध करता रहा है. दूसरा कारण राज्य सरकार का वो आदेश है जिसमें एन बीरेंद्र सिंह की सरकार ने जंगलों पर हो रहे अतिक्रमण के खिलाफ अभियान शुरू करने की बात कही. चूंकि जंगली इलाक़ों में कुकी-नगा समुदाय के लोग रहते हैं, इसलिए इसका विरोध शुरू हुआ और धीरे-धीरे ये मामला मैतेई समुदाय और कुकी समुदाय के आपसी संघर्ष में तब्दील हो गया. हालात ऐसे हो गए कि स्थिति को संभालने के लिए अर्धसैनिक बलों के साथ-साथ सेना और असम राइफल्स के जवान तैनात किए गए.चीफ ऑफ डिफेन्स स्टाफ जनरल अनिल चौहान ने कहा कि मणिपुर की हिंसा दो समुदायों के झगड़े का नतीजा है और इसका हल बातचीत से ही होगा. मुझे लगता है कि CDS जनरल अनिल चौहान की बात सही है कि मैतेई समुदाय और कुकी समुदाय दोनों हमारे ही भाई हैं, इसलिए दोनों पक्षों की बात सुनकर कोई हल निकालना चाहिए.
HOW TO PREVENT ‘LOVE JIHAD’
Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s youth outfit Bajrang Dal has announced that it would set up “Anti-Romeo Force” to protect Hindu daughters if police fails to stop incidents of ‘love jihad’. Surender Jain, the joint general secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad said on Tuesday, his community can no longer sit and watch silently as Hindu daughters are stabbed and stoned to death. Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, the head priest of Bageshwar Dham said, time has come for all Hindus to unite and protect their daughters. Such remarks may appear ordinary, but they indicate a serious issue on which Indians should sit down and think. After a jilted Muslim lover Sahil stabbed a Hindu girl Sakshi to death, it was found that he was wearing ‘kalaava’ (red or black sacred thread worn on wrist by Hindus) and a ‘rudraksh mala’ to fool the girl that he was a Hindu. Reports of ‘love jihad’ cases have come from Lucknow, Shahjahanpur, Uttarkashi, Patna, Meerut, Bareilly, Muzaffarnagar, Moradabad, Kanpur and Bikaner. The thread is common. In all these cases, Muslim youths enticed Hindu girls, while some of them were forcibly converted after being abducted. In Shahjahanpur, a Muslim youth Naved posed as a Hindu, befriended a Hindu girl, made videos and, through blackmail, forced her to convert to Islam. When the girl told her family, Naved allegedly gave her poison leading to her death. There was tension in the town after Hindu outfits took out protest march. In Uttarkashi, two Muslim youths tried to kidnap a Hindu girl, but when people stopped them and asked questions, the girl revealed that she was being abducted. In Aliganj locality of Lucknow, a Muslim youth Arbaaz, who was trying to force a girl in his college for marriage, threatened her and threw stones at her home on May 26. Arbaaz has gone underground and police is on the lookout. There are similar cases from other cities too. I think, the entire issue is not political. One should think seriously. When there are cases involving a Muslim male and a Hindu female, the question of ‘love jihad’ naturally arises. Whether it was Aftaab, who brutally murdered Shradha Walker or Sahil, who stabbed Sakshi multiple times, such horrendous murders are bound to create scars in the minds of the community. A few years ago, when similar ‘love jihad’ cases occurred in Kerala with Christian girls, priests raised their voice. A few days ago, people from Jain community also staged protests against ‘love jihad’. We have to understand: it may be that all these cases may not be connected with ‘love jihad’ where the boys hid their identity to entice the girl, but when one such case occurs, it has wide repercussions. Other cases are also seen through this binary. Since the issue is grave and complicated, particularly in the Delhi murder case where the killer was wearing ‘kalaava’ and ‘rudraksh mala’, the sphere of investigation has become wider from a routine murder. Now outfits like Bajrang Dal have joined the debate. It is right to say that setting up a Hindu Sena or Anti-Romeo Force or Anti-Muslim Force is not the solution. The only solution is: parents should tell their children the difference between good and evil. They should talk to their offsprings, create trust so that their children should share facts about their friends. It is also the responsibility of ulema (Muslim clerics) to teach Muslim youths not to strike friendship with Hindu girls by hiding their identities. This is the only way to avoid a grave problem, otherwise such incidents can widen the chasm between both the communities.
GOVT MUST BEGIN FRESH TALKS WITH WRESTLERS
Visuals of medal winning wrestlers reaching Haridwar to ‘immerse’ their medals on Tuesday were really sad. Most of the wrestlers and their relatives were weeping. It makes one sad to watch these players, who had won laurels for the country, going to river Ganga to immerse their hard-won medals. I would rather praise farmer leader Naresh Tikait who went to Haridwar, persuaded the wrestlers not to take the extreme step and promised to bring about a solution in five days. There is a sense of comprehension among the protesting wrestlers that nobody in the government is willing to listen to them. They feel the entire government machinery is trying to protect the Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The wrestlers feel, their voice is being throttled through use of police force. This is the reason why they find rays of hope when other personalities reach out to them to offer support. When such leaders promise to raise their voice, the wrestlers are eager to speak to them. But, in the process, there are many who have infiltrated the movement of wrestlers and are trying to take advantage of their anger and grievances. There is only one solution which I can suggest. An initiative must begin from highest level in Sports Ministry, talks should begin with the wrestlers, they must be convinced that the government is not against them and their honour will be protected. I think, so long as the communication gap will remain, matters can deteriorate.
MANIPUR: TALKS BETWEEN KUKIS AND MEITEIS, THE ONLY WAY OUT
With nearly 100 persons, including 30 Kuki militants, killed, roughly 200 injured and almost 50,000 people rendered homeless, the situation in Manipur is slowly limping back to normal. Home Minister Amit Shah is holding a series of meetings to bring the warring Kuki and Meitei communities together. He has appealed to both sides to ensure peace for a fortnight before their demands are taken up. Kuki community leaders have demanded President’s Rule and setting up of a separate hill administration for tribals. The reasons behind tension between both communities are several decades old. The situation was aggravated by a High Court order asking government to consider giving Scheduled Tribe status to Meitei community, which is being opposed by Kukis. The second main reason is Chief Minister N. Birendra Singh’s government order to launch anti-encroachment drive in forests, inhabited by Kuki and Naga communities. There was widespread mob violence, with militants looting armouries and using AK-47 and M-16 rifles to attack civilians. Army, Assam Rifles and paramilitary forces had to be rushed to quell violence. Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan has said that any solution between the two communities can be achieved only through negotiations. I think Gen. Anil Chauhan is right when he says that both Meitei and Kuki communities are our brothers and talks are the only way out.
