Democratic Progressive Azad Party chief Ghulam Nabi Azad, who spent 50 years of his life in Congress, was my guest this weekend in ‘Aap Ki Adalat’. The show will be telecast by India TV on Saturday at 10 pm. In the show, Azad lamented how Rahul Gandhi wasted nine years by following ‘Abuse Modi’ strategy. Azad cautioned that if Rahul did not change his strategy, he would neither emerge as a tall leader nor will Congress return to power. ‘Nobody becomes a leader by abusing’, he said, and added, “Rahul Gandhi spent the last nine years only abusing Prime Minister Modi. This has badly hurt the Congress politically.” Azad has been a close adviser of former prime ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. He worked with Sonia Gandhi for nearly 25 years. In the show, Azad frankly spoke about his connections with Indira, Rajiv and Sonia Gandhi. One of his significant remarks was: ‘If Indira ji and Rajiv ji can work 20 hours daily, can’t Rahul work for even 24 minutes a day? Indira, Rajiv toiled hard to become prime ministers, but Rahul doesn’t want to work for even 24 minutes…At this rate Rahul can never give a fight to Narendra Modi who works 24×7.” Azad made several disclosures in the show. “Nobody will benefit if Rahul goes on saying ad nauseum that ‘Modi is a chor (thief)”, said Azad. When I told Azad that there are other senior leaders in Congress, like Digvijaya Singh, who do not agree with his views, and allege that Azad has become ‘Modi’s demolition man for Congress’, the veteran leader replied sarcastically: “Behind closed doors, even Digvijaya Singh agrees that Rahul is sinking the Congress ship, but he lacks courage in saying this openly.” The ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ show will give viewers a clear image about questions that are hovering in their minds.

MODI’S ADVICE FOR 2024 LS POLLS

At the BJP Foundation Day celebration on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave his ‘mantra’ to party workers on how to prepare for 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Since it coincided on Hanuman Jayanti, Modi told them that Lord Hanuman’s ‘can do’ attitude should be the source of inspiration for the party. The PM said, Hanuman exterminated demons, and BJP should not show any leniency in taking action against corruption and dynastic politics. Modi said, even though most of the people assume that BJP will win the 2024 LS mandate, party workers must not remain complacent due to over-confidence. ‘Our aim must not be to win elections, but to win the hearts of the people’, he said. Without naming Congress, Modi said, the British left behind a ‘slavery mindset’, and post-Independence, some families tried to impose dynasticism. ‘The scene changed after 2014 and the era of monarchy is over. Now when they failed to get people’s mandate, they have started cursing, ‘Modi teri qabr khudegi’’, the PM said. Modi has already set the agenda for 2024 polls. He is going to make corruption and dynasticism the main issues and corner opposition parties. Modi knows why opposition leaders are busy abusing him, but their efforts will not bear fruit. He asked BJP workers to visit each home, and take technological help while reaching out to voters through social media. Modi’s advice to BJP workers should also be a lesson to learn for the opposition, which is already entangled in pointless issues.

SAD DAY FOR DEMOCRACY

The acrimonious Budget Session of Parliament ended on Thursday with a discordant note, with both Houses unable to function normally even for a single day. Opposition MPs went out on a ‘tiranga (tricolour) march’ from Parliament to Vijay Chowk. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that it was the ruling party which ‘killed democracy’ by stalling the proceedings. Whatever happened during the budget session is not good for democracy. First, the opposition raised the Adani issue and levelled charges against Modi without concrete evidence. BJP cornered Rahul Gandhi demanding apology for denigrating India on foreign soil. It was clear from Day 1, that both sides were trying to suppress the other and were working on their own agenda. The result: most of the time during the budget session was wasted. Who were the ultimate losers? The people of India. Whose money went waste? People’s money. It is true that much of the responsibility in running both the Houses lies with the government, and it could have found out a middle path to reconcile issues, but the government failed. The opposition went to the extreme. Members of 13 opposition parties did not attend the Speaker’s customary tea party at the end of the session.

विपक्ष को एक बड़ा झटका देते हुए सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने बुधवार को कांग्रेस, समाजवादी पार्टी, एनसीपी, आरजेडी, जेडी(यू), डीएमके, टीएमसी, बीआरएस, AAP, जेएमएम, शिवसेना (उद्धव), नेशनल कॉन्फ्रेंस और लेफ्ट पार्टियों सहित कुल 14 विपक्षी दलों की एक साझा अर्जी पर विचार करने से इनकार कर दिया। इन पार्टियों ने अनुरोध किया था कि CBI और ED द्वारा नेताओं की गिरफ्तारी को लेकर कड़े दिशानिर्देश जारी किए जाएं। चीफ जस्टिस डी वाई चंद्रचूड़ और जस्टिस जे बी पारडीवाला की पीठ ने कहा, ‘आप (राजनीतिक दल) कह रहे हैं कि विपक्षी नेताओं को चुनिंदा तरीके से निशाना बनाया जा रहा है, लेकिन साथ ही आप यह भी कह रहे हैं कि आप नेताओं के लिए कोई विशेष बर्ताव नहीं चाहते । फिर हम इस तरह के दिशा-निर्देश कैसे दे सकते हैं कि अगर मामला हत्या, मारपीट या बाल यौन शोषण का न हो, तो किसी भी नेता को गिरफ्तार न किया जाए?’ कोर्ट ने कहा, ‘एक बार जब हम यह स्वीकार कर लेते हैं कि नेता भी आम नागरिकों के बराबर हैं, तो उन्हें कानून की समान प्रक्रिया का सामना करना पड़ेगा।’ चीफ जस्टिस ने साफ-साफ कहा कि राजनीतिक लड़ाई कोर्ट में नहीं लड़ी जा सकती। कोर्ट का रुख देखकर विपक्षी पार्टियों के वकील अभिषेक मनु सिंघवी ने याचिका वापस ले ली। एक तरफ जहां कांग्रेस और अन्य दलों ने कहा कि वे इस मामले का गहराई से अध्ययन करेंगे, AIMIM प्रमुख असदुद्दीन ओवैसी ने कहा, ‘विपक्ष ने गलत तरीका अपनाया था। उसे सुप्रीम कोर्ट का दरवाजा नहीं खटखटाना चाहिए था। आप बीजेपी के खिलाफ इस तरह की राजनीति नहीं कर सकते, खासकर तब जब मोदी बीजेपी के अगुवा हैं ।’ औवैसी की बात में दम है । दुनिया की कोई भी अदालत सिर्फ नेताओं को रियायत देने का आदेश नहीं दे सकती। नेताओं की गिरफ्तारी न हो, गिरफ्तारी हो तो तुरंत बेल मिले, अगर बेल न मिले तो नेताओं को जेल के बजाए घर में हाउस अरेस्ट रखा जाए, कोई भी अदालत यह आदेश कैसे दे सकता है? यह याचिका ही गलत थी। वह अर्जी जैसी नहीं लग रही थी। भाषण और याचिका में फर्क होना चाहिए । विपक्षी पार्टियां चाहती हैं कि सुप्रीम कोर्ट पीएम मोदी के खिलाफ उनकी सियासी लड़ाई लड़े। अभिषेक मनु सिंघवी खुद बड़े और सीनियर वकील हैं । मैं हैरान हूं कि उन्होंने यह कैसे सोचा कि कोर्ट ऐसे केस की सुनवाई करेगा, क्योंकि इसमें कुछ भी स्पेसिफिक नहीं था । विरोधी दल तो पिछले 9 साल से नरेंद्र मोदी पर यह इल्जाम चिपकाना चाहते हैं कि वह विरोधी दलों के नेताओं को चुप कराने के लिए ED और CBI का बेजा इस्तेमाल करते हैं। ये पार्टियां कहती हैं कि मोदी ED और CBI के भरोसे चुनाव जीतते हैं। विरोधी दलों के जिन नेताओं को लगता था कि वे चुनाव में तो मोदी को हरा नहीं सकते, तो क्य़ों न सुप्रीम कोर्ट से सुनवाई के लिए कहा जाय । अगर सुप्रीम कोर्ट सुनवाई के लिए तैयार हो जाता तो यह पीएम पर हमला करने का एक बड़ा ग्राउंड बन सकता था, लेकिन सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने अर्जी को सुनने से इनकार कर दिया, और कह दिया कि अदालत सियासी जंग का मैदान नहीं है, और राजनीतिक लड़ाई कोर्ट से बाहर लड़ी जाए । अब विरोधी दलों का यह दांव उल्टा पड़ेगा, उन्हें लेने के देने पड़ जाएंगे। विरोधी दलों ने बीजेपी को यह कहने का मौका दे दिया कि भ्रष्टाचार में लिप्त, परेशान नेता अपने लिए कानून में भी रियायत चाहते थे और वे सुप्रीम कोर्ट भी गए, लेकिन कोई राहत नहीं मिली। विरोधी दलों को इस पर जवाब देना मुश्किल हो जाएगा।

बंगाल, बिहार के दंगों पर ममता, नीतीश की सियासत

जहां नीतीश कुमार और तेजस्वी यादव बिहार में हुई हालिया हिंसा के लिए बीजेपी को जिम्मेदार ठहरा रहे हैं, वहीं बीजेपी ने बुधवार को राज्य की विधानसभा में आरोप लगाया कि दंगाई अभी भी खुलेआम घूम रहे हैं और उन्हें गिरफ्तार नहीं किया गया है। हिंसा पर हो रही सियासत अपनी जगह है, लेकिन ज़मीनी हकीकत हैरान करने वाली है। नालंदा में, पुलिस के सर्किल अफसर और प्रखंड विकास अधिकारी द्वारा दर्ज की गई FIRs में अलग-अलग बातें लिखी गई हैं। CO धर्मेंद्र पंडित ने अपनी शिकायत में लिखा है कि बिहार शरीफ में जैसे ही रामनवमी की शोभायात्रा कब्रिस्तान के पास पहुंची, वहां मौजूद मुस्लिम समुदाय के लोगों ने कुछ इशारे किए, लोगों को भड़काया और उसी के बाद पथराव और आगजनी शुरू हो गई। वहीं, BDO अंजन दत्ता ने जो FIR दर्ज कराई, उसमें कहा गया है कि रामनवमी की शोभायात्रा में शामिल भीड़ काफी उग्र थी और लोग भड़काऊ नारे लगा रहे थे। कुछ लोगों द्वारा फोन पर बात करने के बाद हिंसा शुरू हो गई। हिंसा प्रभावित एक ही इलाके के बारे में दो सरकारी अफसर FIRs में अलग-अलग दावे कर रहे हैं। हालांकि नालंदा के एसपी अशोक मिश्रा ने दंगाइयों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई का वादा किया है, लेकिन यह हैरान करने वाली बात है कि कैसे अधिकारियों द्वारा दर्ज कराई गई FIR में विरोधाभासी बयान हैं। एक ने हिंसा के लिए हिंदुओं को जिम्मेदार ठहराया तो दूसरे ने मुसलमानों को । ऐसा लगता है कि नीतीश कुमार को सिर्फ उस FIR के बारे में बताया गया है जिसमें रामनवमी की शोभायात्रा में शामिल लोगों को हिंसा के लिए जिम्मेदार ठहराया गया है। अब पुलिस के सीनियर अफसर कह रहे हैं कि जो लोग पकड़े जा रहे हैं उनके फोन के call details records की जांच होगी और यह पता लगाया जाएगा कि हिंसा के वक्त वे किससे बात कर रहे थे । कुल मिलाकर नीतीश दंगे के लिए बीजेपी को जिम्मेदार ठहराना चाहते हैं और यह साबित करना चाहते हैं कि वह दंगा करवाकर वोटों का ध्रुवीकरण करना चाहती है। यही बात पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने भी कही है। हावड़ा और हुगली में दंगा किसने किया, रामनवमी के जुलूस पर पत्थर किसने फेंके, ये हिंसा के वीडियो में साफ दिख रहा है, और कार्रवाई किसके खिलाफ हो रही है, यह भी दिख रहा है। इसलिए बीजेपी के नेता ममता पर मुस्लिम तुष्टिकरण और हिन्दुओं के उत्पीड़न का इल्जाम लगा रहे हैं। अब यह ममता बनर्जी की जिम्मेदारी है कि वह बंगाल के लोगों को ये समझाएं कि सरकार दंगाइयों के खिलाफ निष्पक्ष कार्रवाई कर रही है। लेकिन मुश्किल यह है कि ममता का फोकस फिलहाल पुलिस की कार्रवाई पर नहीं, बल्कि सियासत पर है। ममता हों या नीतीश कुमार, दोनों ये चाहते हैं कि किसी तरह बीजेपी पर दोनों राज्यों में दंगा कराने का इल्जाम चिपकाया जाए। यह साबित किया जाए कि बीजेपी ने साजिश करके रामनवमी पर दंगा करवाया जिससे मुसलमानों को डराया जा सके, और हिंदुओं के वोट लिए जा सकें।

In a major setback to the opposition, the Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to entertain a joint petition signed by 14 opposition parties, including Congress, SP, NCP, RJD, JD(U), DMK, TMC, BRS, AAP, JMM, Shiv Sena (Uddhav), Left parties, National Conference, seeking stringent guidelines to be followed before arrests of political leaders by CBI and ED. The bench of Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and J B Pardiwala said, “You (political parties) say there is selective targeting of opposition leaders, but at the same time, you say you do not want any special treatment for politicians. Then, how can we lay down guidelines saying if it is not murder, assault or child sexual abuse, no politician should be arrested?” The apex court clearly said, “once we accept that political leaders stand absolutely on the same footing as citizens of the country, they will face the same due process of law”. The bench clearly said, ‘the answer to this must be found in the political space and not in court’. Finding the court’s objections strong, the advocate for opposition parties Abhishek Manu Singhvi withdrew the petition. While Congress and other parties put up a brave face and said they would study the matter deeply, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said, “opposition had adopted a wrong method, they should not have approached the apex court… You cannot do politics like this against BJP, especially when Modi is leading it.” Owaisi is a barrister and he knows what he is saying. No court in the world can give immunity from arrest to politicians, nor can it order immediate bail for them after arrest, and even if bail is not granted, it cannot send politicians to house arrest instead of jail. No court on earth can issue such an order. The petition itself was erroneous. It was filed by 14 political parties, and it did not read like a petition. There is difference between a petition and a political speech. Opposition parties wanted the Supreme Court to fight their political battle against Modi. Abhishek Manu Singhvi is a senior advocate. I am surprised how he even thought that the apex court would hear such an erroneous petition, because no specific cases were mentioned. For the last nine years, opposition parties have been alleging that Modi is misusing CBI and ED against them to win elections. Most of these opposition leaders felt, since it was difficult to defeat Modi in elections, they could try their luck with Supreme Court by filing a joint petition. Had the Supreme Court agreed to hear their petition, it could have become a major ground for launching an attack on Modi, but the apex court refused to entertain, and plainly told them that the court is not a ground for political battles, and leaders should fight their political battles outside. The opposition gambit failed completely, and it will surely going to cause political loss. BJP will now go to town and say that corrupt and worried politicians went to apex court but failed to get relief. It will become difficult for opposition parties to reply to their voters.

MAMATA, NITISH POLITICS OVER BENGAL, BIHAR RIOTS

While Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav are blaming BJP for recent violence in Bihar, BJP on Wednesday alleged in the state assembly that rioters are still roaming scot-free and have not been arrested. Leaving politics aside, the ground realities are surprising. In Nalanda, the FIRs filed by the police circle officer and BDO are conflicting. CO Dharmendra Pandit in his FIR wrote that when the Ramnavami procession reached ‘qabristan’(graveyard), some Muslims incited others and soon afterwards, stoning and arson began. In the other FIR filed by BDO Anjan Dutta, it has been alleged that those taking part in Ramnavami procession were violent, they were shouting provocative slogans, and after speaking to some persons on phone, stoning and arson began. Officials from a single riot-hit area are giving two contradictory versions. Though the Nalanda SP Ashok Mishra has promised action against rioters, it is surprising how officials have filed two contradictory FIRs. One blamed the Hindus, while the other blamed Muslims. It seems, chief minister Nitish Kumar has been informed about only one FIR in which Hindus have been blamed. Now senior officials have begun saying that all call detail records in that area will be checked and the instigators will be nabbed. Nitish Kumar is out to prove BJP hand behind Bihar riots in order to polarize voters. The same allegation has also been made by CM Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal. Already there are many videos circulating that clearly show the faces of stone pelters in Howrah and Hooghly. The statistics of arrests of people from both communities are glaring. BJP leaders are blaming ‘Muslim appeasement’ on part of Mamata and her party leaders. It is now Mamata Banerjee’s responsibility to explain to the people of Bengal that impartial action is being taken against rioters. The problem is: Mamata’s focus at the moment is not on police action, but on politics. Both Mamata and Nitish Kumar are out to prove that it is the BJP that instigated riots in both states. Their aim is to create a sense of fear among Muslims, and in the process, also garner Hindu votes.

एनसीईआरटी सिलेबस से मुगल इतिहास से जुड़े चैप्टर को हटाने को लेकर शिक्षा जगत में एक अनावश्यक विवाद खड़ा हो गया है। ये दावा किया गया है कि अब हमारे देश के बच्चों को मुगल काल का इतिहास नहीं पढ़ाया जाएगा। कई शिक्षाविदों का आरोप है कि इतिहास में सिलेबस में इस तरह के कई चुने हुए, लेकिन व्यापक बदलाव किए गए हैं। वहीं एनसीईआरटी के निदेशक दिनेश प्रसाद सकलानी का कहना है कि कोरोना काल में बच्चों पर पढ़ाई का बोझ कम करने के लिए कोर्स में कुछ बदलाव किए गए थे। यह कोई बड़ी बात नहीं है। ग्यारहवीं कक्षा के सिलेबस से सेंट्रल इस्लामिक लैंड्स, संस्कृतियों का टकराव और औद्योगिक क्रांति जैसे चैप्टर को हटा दिया गया, बारहवीं कक्षा की नागरिक शास्त्र की किताब से ‘लोकप्रिय आंदोलनों का उदय’ और ‘एक दलीय प्रभुत्व का युग’ जैसे चैप्टर्स को हटा दिया गया। 10वीं क्लास की ‘डेमोक्रेटिक पॉलिटिक्स’ किताब से ‘डेमोक्रेसी एंड डायवर्सिटी’, ‘लोकप्रिय संघर्ष और आंदोलन’, ‘लोकतंत्र की चुनौतियां’ जैसे चैप्टर हटा दिए गए हैं। एनसीईआरटी निदेशक ने इस पूरी बहस को गैर-जरूरी करार दिया। लेकिन एआईएमआईएम के प्रमुख असदुद्दीन ओवैसी ने इस पर चुटकी ली। उन्होंने तंज कसते हुए कहा-क्या अब मोदी बच्चों को ये पढवाएंगे कि लाल किला उन्होंने बनवाया? ताज महल नाथूराम गोडसे ने बनवाया? चूंकि यूपी सरकार ने भी एनसीईआरटी पाठ्यक्रम का पालन करने का फैसला किया है इसलिए समाजवादी पार्टी के प्रमुख अखिलेश यादव ने भी सवाल उठाया। उन्होंने सूयकांत त्रिपाठी निराला और फैज अहमद फैज की कविताओं को हिंदी पाठ्यपुस्तकों से हटाने पर विरोध जताया। सारी बातों पर नजर डालने के बाद ये लगता है कि सिलेबस बदला तो गया है, कुछ चैप्टर हटाए गए हैं, पर ये कहना कि मुगल काल वाला चैप्टर दूसरी कक्षाओं में भी पढाए जा चुके थे, गले नहीं उतरता। मैं मानता हूं कि फिजिक्स, केमिस्ट्री, बायोलॉजी, ज्योग्राफी और कॉमर्स जैसे विषयों में भी बदलाव किए गए, लेकिन इतिहास एक अलग विषय है। वैसे ये तो सभी कहते है कि हमारी शिक्षा व्यवस्था धीरे-धीरे चौपट हो रही है। लेकिन इसे सुधारा कैसे जाए ? इसके बारे में किसी ने कुछ नहीं किया। प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने पहली बार इस पर संजीदगी से काम किया। पूरी शिक्षा नीति बदल दी और जब शिक्षा नीति बदलती है तो कुछ पुरानी चीज़ें हटती हैं और कुछ नई चीजें जुड़ती हैं। सिलेबस में जो बदलाव हुए हैं वो अस्थायी हैं। इन्हें फिर से बदला जा सकता है। इसमें हिंदू-मुसलमान, कांग्रेस-बीजेपी की तकरार ढूंढना ठीक नहीं लगता। हमारे देश में आजकल जिस तरह का माहौल है उसे देखते हुए कॉमेंट करने वालों को भी ज्यादा दोष नहीं दिया जा सकता। हर वक्त कोई ना कोई चुनाव सामने होता है इसलिए राजनीति करने वालों को लगता है कि हर बदलाव चुनाव से जुड़ा है।

योगी ने किया शिक्षक भर्ती आयोगों का विलय

उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदितयनाथ ने मंगलवार को यूपी शिक्षा सेवा चयन आयोग की स्थापना के लिए दिशानिर्देश दिए। यानी अब यूपी में जितने स्कूल, कॉलेज, टेक्निकल एजुकेशन सेंटर्स, संस्कृत स्कूल या मदरसे हैं, उन सबमें शिक्षकों की भर्ती एक ही आयोग करेगा। यूपी शिक्षक पात्रता परीक्षा (UPTET) के जरिए प्राथमिक, माध्यमिक, उच्च और तकनीकी कॉलेजों में सभी शिक्षकों की नियुक्ति होगी। अब तक यूपी में प्राथमिक शिक्षा, माध्यमिक शिक्षा, और उच्चतर माध्यमिक स्कूलों में शिक्षकों की भर्ती के लिए अलग-अलग आयोग थे। योगी ने कहा है कि मदरसों और अल्पसंख्यक शिक्षण संस्थानों में शिक्षकों की भर्ती भी नए आयोग के जरिए की जाएगी। योगी का फैसला अच्छा है।अब तक अलग-अलग आयोग होते थे। उनका मेंबर बनने के लिए जोड़-तोड़ होती थी। भ्रष्टाचार होता था। अलग-अलग सरकारी दफ्तर, गाड़ियां,कर्मचारी और दूसरे इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर पर खर्च होता था, वो सब बचेगा। भ्रष्टाचार की गुंजाइश कम होगी। पारदर्शिता बढ़ेगी, जबावदेही तय होगी। इसलिए यह फैसला तो लोगों को हित में है।

जहां तक मदरसा शिक्षकों की भर्ती आयोग के जरिए कराने की बात है तो संस्कृत विद्यालयों में भी शिक्षकों की भर्ती आयोग ही करेगा। बाकी लोगों को तो कोई आपत्ति नहीं है पर मदरसा चलाने वाले सवाल उठा रहे हैं। पर ये समझना चाहिए कि अब तक हम देखते थे कि मुगलसराय के मदरसे में कर्नाटक का मौलाना पढ़ा रहा है। कानपुर के मदरसे में बंगाल का मौलाना पढ़ा रहा है। उसका क्या बैकग्राउंड है ? उसके पास क्या डिग्री है वो कहां तक पढ़ा लिखा है? उसे उर्दू के सिवाय कुछ आता भी है या नहीं? वो कंप्यूटर, इंग्लिश, गणित, साइंस जानता भी है या नहीं, ये देखने वाला कोई नहीं था। लेकिन अब ऐसा नहीं होगा। बाकायदा टेस्ट (TET) होगा। उसके बाद अगर पढ़े लिखे लोग मदरसे में पढ़ाएंगे तो इससे मुस्लिम बच्चों का भविष्य सुधरेगा। मुझे लगता है कि ये मोदी के उस वादे को पूरा करने की तरफ उठाया गया एक कदम है जिसमें मोदी ने कहा था कि वो चाहते हैं मुस्लिम बच्चों के एक हाथ में कंप्यूटर हो और दूसरे में पवित्र कुरान।

There has been an unnecessary row in academic circles over removal of certain chapters relating to Mughal history from NCERT syllabus. Several academicians have alleged that ‘selective sweeping changes’ have been made in the syllabus. NCERT director Dinesh Prasad Saklani clarified that the changes were made last year during Covid pandemic to reduce load on students. From Class XI syllabus, chapters like Central Islamic Lands, Confrontation of Cultures and The Industrial Revolution were removed, from Class XII Civic book chapters like Rise of Popular Movements and Era of One-Party Dominance were removed. From Class 10 ‘Democratic Politics’ book, chapters like ‘Democracy and Diversity’, ‘Popular struggles and movements’, ‘Challenges to Democracy’ have been removed. The NCERT director described the debate as ‘unnecessary’. But, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi took jibes asking whether the Centre will now teach students that Modi built the Red Fort and Godse built the Taj Mahal? Since the UP government has decided to follow NCERT syllabus, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav questioned why poems of Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Nirala were removed from Hindi textbooks. After going through the entire controversy, it seems the syllabuses in different subjects may have been changed and some chapters were removed only because there was duplication. But it is not convincing that they have been deleted only because the same chapters relating to Mughals were being taught in different classes. I agree that changes were also made in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography and Commerce, but History is different. It is a fact that our national education system needs basic reforms, but nothing significant was done over several decades. It was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who, for the first time, formulated the New Education Policy. Whenever the education policy is changed, some old matters are removed and new matters added. If the changes done presently in the syllabuses are temporary there should not be a problem. To view this exercise from Hindu-Muslim or BJP-Congress angles, will not be fair. Bit considering the presently charged atmosphere in the country, those who are viciously reacting to changes cannot be blamed. Since elections take place every year, any change in education sector is viewed from political lens.

YOGI MERGES COMMISSIONS

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday gave guidelines for setting up an autonomous UP Education Service Selection Commission. It shall act as an integrated body for selection of all teachers in basic, secondary, higher and technical colleges by conducting UP Teachers Eligibility Test (UPTET) exam. Currently there are different commissions for basic, secondary, higher and technical college teachers. Yogi said, recruitment of teachers to madrasas and minority educational institutions will also be done through the new commission. Yogi has taken a welcome step. Earlier there used to be different commissions, where corruption and jockeying for membership was rampant. Setting up a single commission will reduce costs on infrastructure, vehicles, staff and other heads. Corruption can be curbed and there will be transparency. Accountability will be fixed. This decision has been taken in the public interest. As far as madrasa teachers are concerned, it must be clarified that the commission will also recruit teachers for Sanskrit schools too. Those who are questioning why madrassa teachers should be recruited, must know that presently, maulanas from Karnataka teach in madrassas in Mughalsarai, maulanas from Bengal teach in Kanpur madrassas. There was no system to check whether these teachers know English, Maths, Science, Computer, or are only conversant in Urdu. Even their degrees of most of them are questionable. Such shortcomings will now be removed. Maulanas will now have to pass TET for recruitment to madrassas. I think this is a good step towards fulfilling Narendra Modi’s promise that he would like to see one day Muslim students holding the Holy Quran in one hand and a computer in the other.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने सोमवार को सीबीआई अधिकारियों से कहा कि भ्रष्टाचार के खिलाफ लड़ाई में किसी को भी न बख्शें, चाहें वह कोई भी हो। पीएम मोदी ने सीबीआई के डायमंड जुबली समारोह में कहा, ‘आरोपी कितने भी शक्तिशाली क्यों न हों, वे अपने काम से विचलित करने के लिए जांच एजेंसियों को निशाना बनाते हैं। आप लोग अपने काम पर ध्यान दें। देश, कानून और सरकार आपके साथ है।’ आम तौर पर मोदी जनसभाओं में इस तरह की टिप्पणी करते हैं, लेकिन यह पहली बार था जब वह सीबीआई अधिकारियों की एक सभा में ऐसा कह रहे थे। मोदी ने बताया कि कैसे आर्थिक भगोड़ों ने बैंकों से 22,000 करोड़ रुपये उड़ा लिए, लेकिन उनकी जब्त संपत्तियों से 20,000 करोड़ रुपये बरामद कर लिए गए। मोदी ने जो कहा वो बड़ी बात है। सीबीआई जैसी जांच एजेंसी को फ्री हैंड देना छोटी बात नहीं है। ये काम वही कर सकता है, जिसके दामन में दाग न हो, जिसकी नीयत साफ हो। मोदी ने ये भी कहा कि जैसे-जैसे टेक्नोलॉजी बदल रही है, वैसे-वैसे सीबीआई के अफसरों को खुद को भी अपडेट करने की जरूरत है। इसमें तो कोई दो राय नहीं है कि सीबीआई बहुत अच्छा काम करती है। लोगों का उसके ऊपर भरोसा है। लेकिन ये भी सही है कि सीबीआई केसेज में कन्विक्शन का रेट बहुत कम है। भ्रष्टाचार के मामलों में एक्शन लेना अलग बात है और भ्रष्टाचारियों को सजा दिलाना दूसरी बात है। ये सही है कि देश का पैसा लेकर विदेश भागे नीरव मोदी और मेहुल चौकसी की संपत्ति सरकार ने जब्त की है, लेकिन ये भी सही है कि इन दोनों भगोड़ों को अब तक वापस लाने में सीबीआई नाकाम रही है और इसका राजनीतिक नुकसान सरकार को झेलना पड़ता है।

कोर्ट में राहुल

अपनी बहन प्रियंका गांधी और कांग्रेस के तीन मुख्यमंत्रियों, भूपेश बघेल, अशोक गहलोत और सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू के साथ, कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी सोमवार को सूरत में अतिरिक्त सत्र न्यायाधीश रॉबिन मोगेरा के सामने पेश हुए। अदालत ने उनकी जमानत अवधि बढ़ा दी और 23 मार्च को उनके दोषसिद्धि के आदेश को चुनौती देने वाली उनकी अपील को 13 अप्रैल को सुनवाई के लिए स्थगित कर दिया। राहुल कांग्रेस नेताओं की बस में सवार होकर कोर्ट पहुंचे। कानून मंत्री किरण रिजिजू ने इसे ड्रामा बताया और कहा कि न्यायपालिका पर प्रेशर बनाने के लिए राहुल गांधी कांग्रेस के तमाम नेताओं को लेकर कोर्ट में पहुंचे। अगर देखा जाए तो असल में कोर्ट का फैसला राहुल को राहत नहीं, बल्कि उनकी टेंशन बढ़ाने वाला है। क्योंकि जिन मामलों में तीन साल से कम की सजा होती है, उनमें दोषी को तुंरत जमानत मिल जाती है। इसीलिए राहुल को जमानत मिलना तय था। असल में कांग्रेस के नेता चाहते थे कि सेशन कोर्ट राहुल गांधी की लोअर कोर्ट से मिली सजा को स्टे कर दे। अगर ऐसा होता तो राहुल गांधी की लोकसभा की मेंबरशिप बहाल होने का रास्ता खुल सकता था, लेकिन कोर्ट ने ये अपील नहीं मानी और 13 अप्रैल को इसके बारे में सुनवाई करने को कहा। इसका मतलब है कि फिलहाल राहुल गांधी की लोकसभा की मेंबरशिप बहाल होने का चांस नहीं है। अगर कोर्ट 13 अप्रैल के बाद भी लोअर कोर्ट के फैसले को स्टे नहीं करता और ये मामला लंबा खिंचता है तो राहुल न तो वायनाड से बाईइलेक्शन लड़ पाएंगे और न ही अगला लोकसभा इलेक्शन। कांग्रेस के नेता चाहते हैं कि इस मामले में सेशन कोर्ट को जो भी फैसला लेना है, जल्दी ले जिससे वो दूसरे लीगल ऑप्शन्स को एक्सप्लोर कर सकें। कांग्रेस के नेता चाहते हैं कि ये मुद्दा जल्दी से जल्दी निपटे लेकिन राहुल गांधी के तेवरों से लगता है कि वो इस मामले को लंबा खींचना चाहते हैं, जिससे वो ये दिखा सकें कि वही अकेले हैं जो मोदी से नहीं डरते हैं। वही हैं जो मोदी के खिलाफ लड़ सकते हैं। कम से कम राहुल ने कोर्ट के फैसले के बाद जो ट्वीट किया, उससे तो यही लगता है। उन्होंने ट्वीट किया था, ‘ये मित्रकाल के खिलाफ लोकतंत्र को बचाने की लड़ाई है और इस संघर्ष में सत्य मेरा अस्त्र है और सत्य ही मेरा आसरा है।’

बंगाल में हिंसा

हुगली के पास रिषड़ा रेलवे स्टेशन पर पथराव की ताजा घटनाओं के बाद पश्चिम बंगाल में हावड़ा-बर्धमान लाइन पर ट्रेन सेवाएं सोमवार रात से मंगलवार सुबह तक चार घंटे के लिए रोकनी पड़ी । तनाव के कारण हुगली जिले के हुगली और श्रीरामपुर में धारा 144 लगाई गई । राज्यपाल सी वी आनंद बोस ने दार्जिलिंग में चल रहे जी-20 कार्यक्रम को बीच में छोड़ कर सीधे रिषड़ा के हिंसा प्रभावित इलाकों में पहुंचे। रिषड़ा में सोमवार शाम को पिर हिंसा हुई, दंगाइयों ने रेल फाटक तोड़ दिया, देसी बम फेंके और गाड़ियों पर ईंटें बरसाईं । बीजेपी के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष सुकांत मजूमदार के नेतृत्व में पार्टी के कई नेता दंगा प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में जाना चाहते थे, पर उन्हें रोका गया। अस्पताल में घायल भाजपा विधायक बिमान घोष से मिलने के बाद शुभेंदु अधिकारी ने आरोप लगाया कि रिषड़ा और हावड़ा में दंगाई खुलेआम घूम रहे हैं। ममता बनर्जी का दावा है कि बंगाल में दंगे बीजेपी ने करवाए, शोभा यात्रा निकालने वालों ने रूट बदला । लेकिन दंगों के जो वीडियो हावड़ा से सामने आए हैं वो दूसरी कहानी कहते हैं। पहले दिन रामनवमी के जुलूस पर पत्थर फेंके गए, आगजनी हुई। दूसरे दिन जुमे की नमाज के बाद मस्जिद से निकले लोगों ने पुलिस के सामने घरों पर पत्थरबाजी की, दंगा किया। इसके सैकड़ों वीडियो हैं, लेकिन जो लोग पकड़े गए उनमें 31 हिन्दू हैं और सिर्फ सात मुस्लिम हैं। क्या ये देखकर बंगाल के हिन्दुओं के मन में नाराजगी नहीं होगी? क्या इससे गुस्सा और नहीं भड़केगा? क्या इससे बंगाल की पुलिस और सरकार पर हिन्दुओं का भरोसा कम नहीं होगा? इससे सरकार की नीयत पर शक होता है। अगर ममता की सरकार ने बिना किसी भेदभाव के एक्शन लिया होता, तो दंगाइयों के हौसले न बढ़ते और न बीजेपी को सियासत करने का मौका मिलता।

बिहार में हिंसा

बिहार के कुछ हिस्सों में अभी भी स्थिति तनावपूर्ण है। नालंदा में स्थिति नियंत्रण में है, लेकिन सोमवार सुबह सासाराम में धमाका हुआ। बिहार पुलिस प्रमुख ने सोमवार रात दंगा प्रभावित बिहारशरीफ का दौरा किया और आला अधिकारियों के साथ बैठक की। नालंदा के डीएम ने चेतावनी दी है कि सरेंडर न करने पर दंगाइयों की संपत्ति कुर्क की जाएगी। अर्धसैनिक बलों की नौ कंपनियां अब बिहारशरीफ में डेरा डाले हुए हैं। बिहारशरीफ में 31 मार्च को एक आवासीय परिसर में दंगाइयों द्वारा आग लगाने का वीडियो सामने आया है। अकेले बिहारशरीफ में 130 से ज्यादा लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है। मंगलवार को AIMIM प्रमुख असदुद्दीन ओवैसी ने मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार की आलोचना की। ओवैसी ने कहा, बिहारशरीफ में मदरसा अजीजिया को आग के हवाले कर दिया गया और दंगाइयों ने हजारों किताबें और कई दुकानें जला दी, लेकिन नीतीश कुमार वहां जाने की बजाय इफ्तार पार्टी में गए। नालंदा नीतीश कुमार का गृह जिला है, फिर भी मुख्यमंत्री अभी तक वहां नहीं गए हैं। वह सोमवार को एक इफ्तार पार्टी में पहुंच गए। स्वाभाविक रूप से, भाजपा के नेता आरोप लगा रहे हैं कि मुख्यमंत्री मुस्लिम तुष्टिकरण की नीति पर चल रहे हैं। मुख्यमंत्री के तौर पर नीतीश कुमार की ये जिम्मेदारी है कि पहले वो दंगा पीड़ितों के घावों पर मरहम लगाते, फिर इफ्तार में जाते। इससे उनका कद भी बढ़ता और बिहार के लोगों में उनके प्रति भरोसा भी।

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday asked CBI officers not to spare anyone in the battle against corruption, whosoever he may be. “Some of the accused are powerful people and they target investigating agencies to distract them from their work. Please focus on your work. The nation, the law, the government is with you”, Modi said at the diamond jubilee celebration of CBI. Normally Modi makes such remarks at public meetings, but this was the first time he was saying this at a gathering of CBI officers. Modi remarked, how economic fugitives siphoned away Rs 22,000 crore from banks, but Rs 20,000 crore was recovered from their seized properties. What Modi said is significant. Giving a free hand to CBI is not a small matter. Only a politician who does not have a black spot on his career, and who has a strong political will, can give the agencies a free hand. He also asked CBI officers to update themselves fast with latest technology. There is no doubt CBI is doing good work, but its conviction rate is still low. Taking action against the corrupt is one thing, but ensuring their conviction is a different matter. The government has seized properties of economic fugitives like Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi, but it is also a fact that CBI has, till now, failed in getting them extradited to India. The government can face political disadvantage because of this.

RAHUL IN COURT

With his sister Priyanka Gandhi and three Congress chief ministers, Bhupesh Baghel, Ashok Gehlot and Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, in tow, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi appeared before the Additional Sesions Judge Robin Mogera in Surat on Monday. The court extended his bail, and posted his appeal challenging his March 23 conviction order for hearing on April 13. Rahul arrived at the court with a busload of Congress leaders. Law Minister Kiren Rijiju described this as “a drama” and “a childish attempt to pressure the court”. The court order is not a relief, but is bound to create worries in Rahul’s camp. Normally, people who are convicted for less than three years jail, get immediate bail, and for Rahul getting bail was a foregone conclusion. Congress leaders wanted the sessions court to stay the conviction verdict given by the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Surat. Had the conviction been stayed, the path to restore Rahul’s Lok Sabha membership could have opened up, but the court did not accept the plea. It fixed April 13 for hearing. It means, for the time being, there is no chance of Rahul’s LS membership being restored. If the conviction is not stayed even after the April 13 hearing, and the matter drags in court, Rahul will neither be able to contest byelections from Wyanad, nor next year’s Lok Sabha polls. Congress strategists want a quick judgement from sessions court, so that they can explore other legal options. Congress leaders want a quick end to this matter, but judging from Rahul Gandhi’s mood, it seems as if he wants to prolong the matter, in order to project that he is alone in his fight against Modi, and is not afraid of him. He wants to project that he is the only leader who can give a fight to Modi. Rahul’s tweet soon after the sessions court ruling reflected his mood. The tweet was: “This is a fight against ‘Mitrakaal’(age of cronyism) to save democracy. In this struggle, truth is my weapon, truth is my refuge”.

VIOLENCE IN BENGAL

Train services on Howrah-Bardhaman line in West Bengal were suspended for four hours from Monday night till Tuesday morning after fresh incidents of stone pelting took place at Rishra railway station near Hooghly. Sec 144 was clamped in Hooghly and Serampore in Hooghly district due to prevailing tension. Governor C V Ananda Bose cut short his presence at G20 event in Darjeeling, and rushed to violence-hit areas of Rishra. Fresh violence took place in Rishra on Monday evening, as rioters broke the rail gate, hurled crude bombs and brick batted ltrains. BJP leaders. led by state president Sukanta Majumdar, were prevented from visiting riot-affected areas. Suvendu Adhikari, after meeting injured BJP MLA Biman Ghosh in hospital, alleged that rioters are roaming free in Rishra and Howrah. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleged that BJP and its allied outfits deliberately changed the procession route that led to violence. The videos from Howrah that have emerged clearly show that on Day 1(Ramnavami Day), stones were pelted at the procession and vehicles were set on fire. On Day 2(Friday), those who were returning from Friday namaaz prayers, stoned residential society in presence of police. There are scores of such videos, but police have arrested 31 Hindus and only seven Muslims. These videos and facts are bound to create anger in the minds of Hindus in Bengal. Will these facts not create mistrust in the minds of Hindus towards police and administration? The motive of the Trinamool government appears to be doubtful. Had Mamata Banerjee’s government acted impartially, the rioters would not have gone scot-free, nor the BJP would have got a chance to politicize the issue.

VIOLENCE IN BIHAR

The situation in some parts of Bihar is also tense. Though the situation is under control in Nalanda, there was a blast on Monday morning in Sasaram. Bihar Police chief visited riot-hit Biharsharif and had meeting with top officials on Monday night. The DM of Nalanda has warned that properties of rioters will be attached if they do not surrender. Nine companies of para-military forces are now camping in Biharsharif. Videos of rioters setting fire to a residential complex in Biharsharif on March 31 have surfaced. More than 130 people have been arrested in Biharsharif alone. On Tuesday, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi slammed chief minister Nitish Kumar for attending an Iftaar party on Monday. Owaisi said, the Madrasa Azizia in Biharsharif was set on fire and thousands of books and several shops were burnt by rioters. Nalanda is Nitish Kumar’s home district, and yet the chief minister did not visit. Instead, he found time to attend an iftar party. Naturally, BJP leaders are alleging that the chief minister is following a policy of Muslim appeasement. As Chief Minister, it was Nitish Kumar’s responsibility to meet the riot victims and offer them sympathy, instead of attending an iftar party. Had he done that, he could have enhanced his stature and earned the trust of the people of Bihar.

केंद्रीय सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग मंत्री नितिन गडकरी इस सप्ताह ‘आप की अदालत’ शो में मेरे मेहमान थे। नितिन गडकरी एक ऐसे नेता हैं जो खूब बोलते हैं, खुलकर बोलते हैं, उनके बयानों पर विवाद भी होता है और सफाई भी देनी पड़ती है। ‘आप की अदालत’ में भी उन्होंने ऐसी कई बातें कही जिन्हें सुनकर आपको हैरानी होगी। मिसाल के तौर पर, उन्होंने कहा कि देश में 40 फीसदी ड्राइवर ऐसे हैं जिन्हें सही से दिखाई नहीं देता। वह ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस जारी करने की प्रक्रिया में आमूलचूल बदलाव करने की योजना बना रहे हैं। गडकरी ने बताया कि कैसे डॉ मनमोहन सिंह की सरकार के वक्त नरेंद्र मोदी को आपराधिक मामलों में फंसाने के लिए अमित शाह पर दबाव डाला गया था। गडकरी ने राहुल गांधी को यह भी याद दिलाया कि कैसे उनकी दादी इंदिरा गांधी ने जनता पार्टी के शासन के दौरान लंदन में ब्रिटिश मीडिया से कहा था कि वह भारत के घरेलू मुद्दों पर सिर्फ अपने देश में बोलना पसंद करेंगी। केंद्रीय मंत्री ने यह भी कहा कि कैसे उन्होंने सड़कें बनाने के लिए अब तक 50 लाख करोड़ रुपये के कॉन्ट्रैक्ट दिए हैं लेकिन कभी किसी ठेकेदार को उनके पास नहीं आना पड़ा, कभी किसी ने इल्जाम नहीं लगाया। नितिन गडकरी ने कहा कि वह दिल्ली के प्रदूषण को लेकर बहुत चिंतित हैं और वह इसे कम करने के लिए एक बहुत बड़े प्लान पर काम कर रहे हैं। कूड़े के पहाड़ों का जिक्र करते हुए उन्होंने बताया कि कूड़े का इस्तेमाल सड़क बनाने के लिए किया जा रहा है। ‘आप की अदालत’ शो को आप आज रात 10 बजे इंडिया टीवी पर देख सकते हैं।

ममता को हावड़ा में हुई हिंसा पर जवाब देना ही होगा
हावड़ा में शुक्रवार को जारी हिंसा के बाद गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने पश्चिम बंगाल के राज्यपाल सी.वी. आनंद बोस से बात की और उनसे रामनवमी शोभायात्रा के दौरान हुए दंगों के बारे में विस्तृत जानकारी मांगी। इस मामले में अब तक 36 लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया जा चुका है। शुक्रवार को आई तस्वीरों में पुलिस पथराव करती दंगाइयों की भीड़ के आगे साफ तौर पर बेबस नजर आ रही है। ये तस्वीरें सरकार के खत्म होते इकबाल की गवाह हैं। मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी को इल्जाम लगाने की बजाय जवाब देना चाहिए। अगर इसी जगह पर पिछले साल भी दंगा हुआ था, शोभायात्रा पर हमला हुआ था तो इस साल वहां पहले से सुरक्षा के इंतजाम क्यों नहीं किए गए। अगर सरकार को इस बात की जानकारी थी कि सांप्रदायिक तनाव हो सकता है, कुछ लोग साजिश रच रहे हैं तो सरकार ने साजिश रचने को मौका क्यों दिया? उन्हें पहले क्यों नहीं पकड़ा? ये सही है कि शोभायात्रा के दौरान कुछ लोगों के हाथ में तलवार और पिस्तौल थी, पुलिस ने इन लोगों को रोका क्यों नहीं, पकड़ा क्यों नहीं? सबसे बड़ी बात कि एक दिन पहले दंगा हुआ, और फिर उसी जगह पर कई घंटों तक दंगाइयों ने उपद्रव किया, यह पुलिस की नाकामी नहीं है तो और क्या है? तस्वीरों में साफ दिख रहा है कि पत्थरबाजी कौन लोग कर रहे हैं, इसके बाद भी बंगाल की पुलिस दंगाइयों के सामने हाथ बांधकर क्यों खड़ी रही? सवाल बहुत सारे हैं। यह सही है कि बीजेपी इस मुद्दे पर सियासत कर रही है, लेकिन सवाल यह है कि बीजेपी को यह मौका किसने दिया? क्या अभिषेक बनर्जी समेत तृणमूल कांग्रेस के नेता जो बयानवाजी कर रहे हैं, वो सियासत नहीं है? हो सकता है कि इस तरह के बयानों से बीजेपी को हिंदुओं के और TMC को मुसलमानों को थोड़े-बहुत वोट और मिल जाएं, लेकिन बीजेपी और ममता बनर्जी दोनों को सोचना होगा कि इससे बंगाल की छवि को, वहां की मिलजुलकर रहने की संस्कृति को कितना नुकसान हो रहा है।

गुजरात हाई कोर्ट ने केजरीवाल पर लगाया जुर्माना
गुजरात हाई कोर्ट ने शुक्रवार को ‘RTI ऐक्ट के प्रयोजन और उद्देश्य का मजाक बनाने के लिए’ 25,000 रुपये का जुर्माना लगाया। उन्हें 4 हफ्ते के भीतर जुर्माना जमा करने को कहा गया है। हाई कोर्ट ने केंद्रीय सूचना आयोग के 7 साल पुराने उस आदेश को रद्द कर दिया जिसमें गुजरात यूनिवर्सिटी को RTI ऐक्ट के तहत प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की MA की डिग्री पर केजरीवाल द्वारा मांगी गई जानकारी उपलब्ध कराने का निर्देश दिया गया था। एक सत्तासीन मुख्यमंत्री पर हाई कोर्ट 25000 रुपये का जुर्माना लगाए और यह कहे कि आपने कोर्ट का वक्त खराब किया है, बेहद ही शर्म की बात है। मजे की बात यह है कि कोर्ट ने केजरीवाल से साफ-साफ कहा कि आपको पता था कि नरेंद्र मोदी के पास डिग्री है, और आपको यह भी पता था कि इस डिग्री को यूनिवर्सिटी की वेबसाइट पर कोई भी देख सकता है, फिर भी आपने ऐसा माहौल बनाने की कोशिश की कि यूनिवर्सिटी प्रधानमंत्री की डिग्री दिखाने का विरोध कर रही है। कोर्ट के इतना सब कहने के बावजूद, जुर्माना लगाने के बाद भी केजरीवाल ने सोशल मीडिया पर ये दिखाने की कोशिश की कि उन पर जुर्माना मोदी की डिग्री दिखाने की मांग करने के कारण लगा है। जिस प्रधानमंत्री के पास BA और MA की डिग्री है, उसे अनपढ़ कहना कैसे जस्टिफाई हो सकता है। केजरीवाल तो 2014 में मोदी के खिलाफ बनारस में चुनाव लड़कर हार चुके हैं, उस चुनाव के एफिडेविट में मोदी की डिग्री के बारे में लिखा हुआ है। गुजरात यूनिवर्सिटी ने मोदी की डिग्री 2016 में ही अपनी वेबसाइट पर पोस्ट कर दी थी। केजरीवाल को यह पता था। प्रधानमंत्री की डिग्री छिपाने वाली कोई बात ही नहीं है क्योंकि यह डिग्री 2 जगह उपलब्ध है, एक चुनाव आयोग में फाइल किए गए एफिडेविट में और दूसरा गुजरात यूनिवर्सिटी की वेबसाइट पर। फिर भी केजरीवाल पीएम मोदी को कम पढ़ा-लिखा कह रहे हैं। साफ है कि यह सब जानबूझकर, सोच-समझकर एक गलत छाप छोड़ने की नीयत से किया जा रहा है, और इसीलिए बात का बतंगड़ और राई का पहाड़ बनाया गया।

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari was my guest this week in ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ show. An articulate politician, his remarks often caused controversies in the past and he had to issue clarifications. In the show, Gadkari made some revelations. For example, 40 per cent drivers in India do not have clear vision. The minister plans to drastically change the process of issuing driving licenses. Gadkari revealed how Amit Shah was pressurized by investigation agencies during Dr Manmohan Singh’s rule to implicate Narendra Modi in criminal cases. Gadkari also reminded Rahul Gandhi of how his grandmom Indira Gandhi told British media in London during Janata Party rule that she would prefer to speak about domestic issues only in India. The minister also revealed how Rs 50 lakh crore worth road construction contracts were given by his ministry, and not a single allegation of corruption surfaced. He also disclosed that he was working on a big project to solve Delhi’s pollution problems and garbage from huge landfills is being used for building roads. MAMATA MUST ANSWER QUESTIONS ON HOWRAH VIOLENCE

After violence continued in Howrah on Friday, Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose and sought detailed information about the riots that took place during Ramnavami procession. Till now, 36 persons have been arrested. Visuals on Friday clearly showed the local police on the defensive even as rioters continued pelting stones. These visuals are clear proof of incompetence on part of local police and administration. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, instead of levelling allegations, should reply why police did not take strict action against stone pelters and arsonists. The riots took place at the same spot in Howrah, where similar violence took place last year, but this time no security precautions were taken. Mamata Banerjee must answer if her police intelligence had reports about a conspiracy being hatched, why was preventive action not taken? If those in the procession were carrying swords and pistols, why didn’t police take them into custody? The violence took place at the very spot on Friday, where riots had taken place a day before. It is clear proof of the incompetence of police. The visuals clearly show the faces of stone pelters, but policemen were silent spectators. There are many such questions. It’s true that BJP is politicizing the issue, but the question is, who allowed BJP to make it an issue? Were the comments made by Mamata’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee and other Trinamool leaders not political? BJP may gain some Hindu votes and TMC may gain some Muslim votes because of this violence, but both BJP and Mamata Banerjee must think of the damage inflicted on Bengal’s cosmopolitan culture and image.

KEJRIWAL SLAPPED WITH FINE BY GUJARAT HIGH COURT

Gujarat High Court on Friday imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 “for making a mockery of the very intent and purpose of RTI Act”. He was asked to deposit the fine within four weeks. The High Court quashed a seven-year-old order of Central Information Commission directing Gujarat University to provide information sought by Kejriwal on PM Narendra Modi’s MA degree under RTI Act. Nothing can be more shameful than a High Court imposing Rs 25,000 fine on a sitting chief minister saying he was wasting the valuable time of the court. The High Court interestingly told Kejriwal that he knew that Modi had a post-graduate degree, and it could be easily accessed on the university website, and yet he sought to create an impression that the university was unwilling to furnish the degree certificate. The most objectionable part is that even after the High Court imposed fine on him, Kejriwal went on social media to say that he was fined because he wanted to see the degree. How can one justify a CM describing a Prime Minister, having BA and MA degrees, as illiterate? Kejriwal lost badly when he contested against Modi in Varanasi in 2014. In his affidavit, Modi had mentioned about his degrees, and Gujarat University had posted Modi’s MA degree in 2016 on its website. Kejriwal knew that the copy of Modi’s degree was available both in Modi’s affidavit filed before Election Commission and on Gujarat University website. And yet, Kejriwal is describing Modi as less educated. Clearly this is a move to deliberately create a wrong impression, and a mountain was sought to be made out of a molehill.

पश्चिम बंगाल के हावड़ा के शिबपुर में गुरुवार को रामनवमी जुलूस के दौरान और बाद में शुक्रवार जो हिंसा हुई वह निंदनीय है। इस मामले में कुल 36 लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है। यहां एक मस्जिद से जुलूस पर पथराव किया गया और उपद्रवी तत्वों ने कई गाड़ियों को जला दिया। इस दौरान उपद्रवियों ने दुकानों में तोड़-फोड़ भी की। रामनवमी के मौके पर विश्व हिंदू परिषद सहित चार हिंदू संगठनों की तरफ से जुलूस निकाला गया। हिंदू संगठनों द्वारा जुलूस निकालने से पहले पुलिस की अनुमति भी ली गई थी। पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने आरोप लगाया कि इस झड़प के पीछे बीजेपी और विश्व हिंदू परिषद का हाथ है। भाजपा नेता शुभेंदु अधिकारी ने दावा किया कि रामनवमी पर निकाली जा रही शोभायात्राओं में एक करोड़ से ज्यादा रामभक्तों ने हिस्सा लिया। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि ममता बनर्जी मुस्लिम तुष्टिकरण के लिए हिन्दुओं को धमका रही हैं। ये बात तो सही है कि ममता के रूख को लेकर पश्चिम बंगाल के हिन्दुओं के मन में आशंकाएं हैं। बीजेपी इसीलिए इस मुद्दे को तूल दे रही है। पिछले चार साल से बंगाल में बीजेपी लगातार हिन्दू पर्व और त्योहारों को बड़े पैमाने पर मानने की कोशिश करती है और ममता हर बार सख्त रुख दिखाती हैं। हर बार कोई न कोई गड़बड़ी होती है। तीन साल पहले ममता ने रामनवमी और हनुमान जयंती के मौके पर शोभायात्रा निकालने पर पाबंदी लगा दी थी। फिर दुर्गापूजा के वक्त मूर्ति विसर्जन रोक दिया गया था क्योंकि उसी दिन मुहर्रम था। और अब रामनवमी से पहले जब बीजेपी ने शोभायात्राएं निकालने का ऐलान कर दिया तो ममता ने ये कह दिया कि शोभायात्राएं निकालो लेकिन मुस्लिम इलाकों में मत जाना क्योंकि रमजान का महीना चल रहा है। हिंदू संगठनों ने कहा कि नवरात्रि के कारण वो भी उपवास कर रहे हैं।उनकी धार्मिक भावनाओं की क्यों उपेक्षा की गई? अब बीजेपी इसे मुद्दा बनाएगी। ममता जानती हैं कि बीजेपी के इस रुख से उन्हें राजनीतिक नुकसान होगा। इसीलिए ममता अब डैमज कन्ट्रोल की कोशिश कर रही हैं और कह रही है कि उन पुलिस वालों पर एक्शन होगा जिन्होंने संवेदनशील इलाकों में रामनवमी के मौके पर शोभायात्रा की इजाजत दी।

रामनवमी हिंसा : षड्यंत्रकारियों को पकड़ो

रामनवमी के दौरान महाराष्ट्र के छत्रपति संभाजीनगर (औरंगाबाद) और जलगांव में हिंसा की घटनाएं हुईं। छत्रपति संभाजी नगर के किराडपुरा इलाके में दो गुटों में मारपीट और पथराव की घटना सामने आई है। पुलिस फायरिंग में घायल एक युवक की गुरुवार रात मौत हो गई। झड़प के दौरान सोलह पुलिसकर्मी घायल हो गए। इस दौरान उपद्रवियों ने कई प्राइवेट और पुलिस वाहनों को जला दिया। संभाजी नगर से AIMIM नेता इम्तियाज जलील सांसद हैं। घटना के थोड़ी देर के बाद इम्तियाज जलील मौके पर पहुंच गए। इम्तियाज मंदिर के अंदर गए और फिर वहीं बैठे रहे। उन्होंने मंदिर को उपद्रवियों द्वारा आग लगाने से रोका। जलगांव में एक मस्जिद के सामने से रामनवमी जुलूस के गुजरने पर उस पर पथराव शुरू हो गया। इस मामले में पुलिस ने 56 लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया है। नमाज के दौरान साउंड सिस्टम के इस्तेमाल को लेकर भी झड़प हुई। पथराव में कई वाहनों को नुकसान पहुंचा। गुजरात के वडोदरा में रामनवमी के जुलूस के दौरान हुई झड़प के बाद 24 पत्थरबाजों को हिरासत में लिया गया। दिल्ली में हिन्दू संगठनों ने जहांगीरपुरी इलाके में रामनवमी की शोभायात्रा निकालने की तैयारी की थी। लेकिन पुलिस ने 5 किलोमीटर की जगह सिर्फ 200 मीटर तक ही जुलूस निकालने की इजाजत दी और माहौल को शांत किया। दिल्ली पुलिस ने समझदारी दिखाई। लोगों ने भी पुलिस की बात मानी और कोई गड़बड़ी नहीं हुई। लेकिन सवाल ये है कि पश्चिम बंगाल, महाराष्ट्र और गुजरात के उन इलाकों में हिसा क्यों हुई जो मुस्लिम बहुल हैं ? जब हर साल इन इलाकों से शोभायात्राएं शान्तिपूर्ण तरीके से निकलती हैं तो इस बार ही हमला क्यों किया गया? क्या कोई साजिश थी? इसके पीछे कौन लोग हैं? उनके इरादे क्या हैं? इसकी पूरी जांच होनी चाहिए। क्योंकि अभी रामनवमी के दौरान हिन्दू संगठनों की शोभायात्राओं पर पथराव किया गया। रामजान चल रहे हैं और अप्रीम में ईद आने वाली है। अगर इस मुबारक मौके पर भी गड़बड़ी हुई तो देश का माहौल खराब होगा। इसलिए पुलिस को जल्दी से जल्दी माहौल खराब करने वालों पकड़कर सख्त एक्शन लेना चाहिए। क्योंकि इस तरह के लोग किसी मजहब को नहीं मानते हैं। ये लोग समाज के दुश्मन हैं। देश की शान्ति के लिए खतरा हैं। इसलिए ऐसे लोगों के खिलाफ उसी तरह के एक्शन की जरूरत है जैसा उत्तर प्रदेश में लिया गया। यूपी में भी पहले रामनवमी, हनुमान जयंती, दुर्गापूजा और मुहर्रम जैसे मौकों पर हंगामा होता था लेकिन गुरुवार को यूपी में हजारों शोभायात्राएं निकलीं और कहीं से भी एक भी पत्थर चलने की खबर नहीं आई। जिस वक्त महाराष्ट्र और पश्चिम बंगाल में हंगामा हो रहा था उस वक्त योगी आदित्यनाथ गोरखपुर में निश्चिंत होकर मां भगवती की पूजा कर रहे थे और अयोध्या में लाखों भक्त रामलला के दर्शन कर रहे थे।

कश्मीरियों ने धूमधाम से मनाई रामनवमी

रामनवमी का सबसे अच्छा दृश्य श्रीनगर में देखने को मिला। सैकड़ों कश्मीरी पंडितों और इस्कॉन के श्रद्धालुओं ने ‘जय श्री राम’ और ‘हरे राम, हरे कृष्ण’ के जयकारों के बीच हब्बा कदल स्थित राम मंदिर से लाल चौक तक रामनवमी जुलूस निकाला। शोभायात्रा में बड़ी संख्या में स्थानीय लोग शामिल हुए। शोभायात्रा के दौरान कई बच्चों औऱ नौजवानों ने रामायण के अलग-अलग किरदारों का रूप धरा था। इनका कहना है कि कुछ साल पहले तक तो ये सोचा भी नहीं जा सकता था कि कश्मीर में इस तरह की शोभायात्रा निकलेगी लेकिन अब ऐसा हो रहा है और इसमें शामिल होकर वो बहुत खुश हैं। इन्होंने कहा कि अब आगे भी कश्मीर की फिज़ा में इसी तरह अमन-चैन रहना चाहिए जहां वो अपने त्योहार खुलकर मना सकें। ये तस्वीरें देखकर अच्छा लगा। ये तस्वीरें कश्मीर में बदले हालात का सबूत हैं। कुछ दिन पहले हमने देखा था कि जम्मू कश्मीर में मां शारदा का नया मंदिर बना है। मंदिर के लिए जमीन मुस्लिमों ने दी है। मंदिर बनाने में मुस्लिम भाइयों ने मदद की और मंदिर में देवी की मूर्ति की प्राण प्रतिष्ठा में भी मुस्लिम भाई बड़ी संख्या में शामिल हुए। गुरुवार को रामनवमी के मौके पर निकली शोभायात्रा में भी श्रीनगर के मुस्लिम शरीक हुए। यही तो कश्मीरियत है। यही तो हिन्दुस्तान की गंगा जमुनी तहजीब है। जिन इलाकों में शोभायात्राओं पर बम और पत्थर फेंके गए। उन इलाकों के लोगों को कश्मीर के लोगों से सबक सीखना चाहिए।

रामदेव की संन्यासियों की सेना

रामनवमी के दिन स्वामी रामदेव ने हरिद्वार में पतंजलि योग पीठ में 100 नए शिष्यों को ‘दीक्षा’ दी। आरएसएस प्रमुख मोहन भागवत भी इस कार्यक्रम में शामिल हुए। शाम को गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने पतंजलि विश्वविद्यालय का उद्घाटन किया। इस मौके पर अमित शाह ने स्वामी रामदेव के कामों की जबरदस्त तारीफ की। अमित शाह ने कहा कि स्वामी रामदेव सनातन की सेवा तो कर ही रहे हैं, इसके अलावा उन्होंने योग, आयुर्वेद और स्वदेशी के विकास के साथ-साथ शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में जो काम किया है, वह दूसरों के लिए प्रेरणादायी है। इसमें तो कोई संदेह नहीं कि स्वामी रामदेव ने योग और आयुर्वेद के प्रचार-प्रसार के लिए सराहनीय काम किया है।अब उन्होंने शिक्षा के लिए एक बड़ी योजना बनाई है। अच्छी बात ये है कि शिक्षा का काम, विश्वविद्यालय बनाने की योजना, स्वामी रामदेव के लिए कोई कमर्शियल प्रोजेक्ट नहीं है। वो अपने बाकी बिजनेस से जो कमाएंगे उसका एक बड़ा हिस्सा नौजवानों को आधुनिक और वैदिक शिक्षा देने के लिए किया जाएगा। स्वामी रामदेव इन सारे कामों को संभालने के लिए संन्यासियों की एक बड़ी फौज तैयार कर रहे हैं। गुरुवार को जिन 100 युवाओं को संन्यास की दीक्षा दी गई वो इसी प्रोसेस का हिस्सा हैं। धर्म और सेवा के लिए जो लोग अपना सुख-दुख त्यागकर संन्यासी बने हैं मैं उनकी तारीफ करना चाहता हूं और उन्हें भविष्य के लिए शुभकामनाएं देना चाहता हूं।

The violence that took place on Thursday and Friday during Ramnavami procession in Shibpur, Howrah of West Bengal is condemnable. Thirtysix persons have been arrested. Hoodlums set fire to vehicles and ransacked shops soon after stones were pelted at the procession from a mosque. The procession was brought out by four Hindu outfits including Vishwa Hindu Parishad after obtaining prior police permission. West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee alleged that BJP and VHP were behind these clashes. BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari said, more than a crore Hindus took part in peaceful Ramnavami processions across West Bengal and Mamata Banerjee was threatening Hindus. It is right that Hindus in West Bengal are apprehensive about Mamata Banerjee’s stand on Ramnavami and the BJP is trying to highlight this. During the last four years, BJP tried to celebrate Hindu festivals in Bengal on a large scale, but every time Mamata Banerjee took a tough stand. Three years ago, her goernment banned Hanuman Jayanti and Ramnavami processions, and once ordered that immersion of Durga Puja idols will take place only after Muharram processions are over. This time, while allowing Ramnavami processions, Mamata Banerjee had given strict warnings that the processions must not pass through Muslim localities, due to observance of Ramzan. Hindu outfit leaders said that they too had observed fast for nine days during Navratri, and why should their religious sentiments be ignored. BJP is bound to make this an issue. Mamata Banerjee knows that she can face political damage if BJP tries to mobilize Hindus in Bengal.

RAMNAVAMI VIOLENCE: NAB THE CONSPIRATORS

There was violence in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (formerly Aurangabad) and Jalgaon in Maharashtra during Ramnavami. On the night preceding Ramnavami, two groups clashed in Kiradpura. There was stoning and vandalism. A man injured in police firing succumbed to injuries on Thursday night. Sixteen policemen were injured and several private and police vehicles were burnt. Sambhaji Nagar has AIMIM leader Imtiaz Jaleel as its member of Parliament. Imtiaz went to a temple, sat inside and prevented it from being set on fire. In Jalgaon, 56 persons were arrested after groups indulged in stoning when a Ramnavani procession was passing in front of a mosque. The clash began over the use of sound systems during ‘namaaz’ prayers. Several vehicles were vandalized during stoning. In Vadodara, Gujarat, 24 stone pelters were detained after clashes erupted during Ramnavami procession. In Delhi, police in Jahangirpuri allowed the procession to be taken out only for 200 metres instead of 5 km and defused the situation. Delhi Police showed exemplary attitude and thus managed to avert clashes. The moot point is: Why did clashes take place in Bengal, Maharashtra and Gujarat in Muslim localities? Why clashes took place this year while peaceful processions were being taken out every year? Was there any conspiracy behind it? Who are the persons who conspired? What was their motive? This matter should be thoroughly investigated. Ramnavami processions were stoned, Ramzan is being observed by Muslims, and Eid will be celebrated in April. If violence takes place, it will vitiate the atmosphere. Police must take quick action and nab the conspirators. Such anti-socials are not devotees of any religion, they are enemies of society, and are a threat to peace. Action is needed, as was taken in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier violence used to take place in UP during Ramnavami, Hanuman Jayanti, Durga Puja and Muharram, but on Thursday, no clash took place. Thousands of processions were taken out peacefully in UP on Thursday. Not a single stone was pelted. When news about clashes was coming from Bengal and Maharashtra, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath was offering prayers to Goddess Bhagati in Gorakhpur, and thousands of devotees had congregated for darshan of Ram Lala in Ayodhya.

KASHMIRIS CELEBRATE RAMNAVAMI

The best visuals of Ramnavami came from Srinagar. Hundreds of Kashmiri Pandits and ISKCON devotees brought out Ramnavami procession from the Ram temple in Habba Kadal to Lal Chowk amidst chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Hare Ram, Hare Krishna’. A large number of local residents took part in the procession. Teenagers wearing costumes depicting various characters of Ramayana took part. Most of them said, it was unimaginable to take out a procession till a few years ago. I felt happy watching these visuals. They depict the changes that have come in the Valley during the last four years. A few days ago, we saw the new temple of Maa Sharda built on land donated by Muslims. Muslim brethren helped in rebuilding the temple and many of them attended the inauguration of the temple. On Thursday, Muslims joined Ramnavami procession. This, in essence, is Kashmiriyat. It reflects India’s ‘Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb’ (tradition). Those who pelted stones at Ramnavami processions in Bengal, Maharashtra and Gujarat should learn from Kashmiris.

RAMDEV’S ARMY OF SANNYASINS

On Ramnavami day, Swami Ramdev gave ‘deeksha’ (initiation) to 100 new disciples at the Patanjali Yog Peeth in Haridwar. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat attended. In the evening, Patanjali University was inaugurated by Home Minister Amit Shah, who praised Swami Ramdev’s tireless efforts in the field of yoga, ayurveda, swadeshi and Vedic education. There is no denying the fact that Swami Ramdev has done a great service to the nation in popularizing yoga and ayurveda. Now he has big plans for Vedic education. For Swami Ramdev, creating a university is not a commercial project. He has promised to invest a major part of his commercial earnings from Patanjali to impart modern and Vedic education to our youths. Swami Ramdev is preparing a big army of sannyasins to achieve this objective. Thursday’s ‘deeksha’ to the new sannyasins was part of this process. They are those who have opted to leave their families to work for religion and service to the nation, for the rest of their life. I praise them for their lofty ideals and wish them all a bright future.

कट्टरपंथी खालिस्तान समर्थक अमृतपाल सिंह पिछले 10 दिन से फरार है, बुधवार को फगवाड़ा-होशियारपुर मार्ग पर वह एक कार में फिर से भाग गया। पंजाब पुलिस ने उसे पकड़ने के लिए जाल बिछाया है और उसका पता लगाने के लिए ड्रोन का भी इस्तेमाल किया जा रहा है। बुधवार को अमृतपाल ने एक वीडियो जारी कर ‘सिख संगत’ से ‘सरबत खालसा’ में शामिल होने का आह्वान किया। अमृतपाल ने दावा किया कि उसे गिरफ्तार नहीं किया गया है और कहा, ‘मुझे कुछ भी नुकसान नहीं पहुंचा सकता।’ वीडियो की तारीख और स्थान का पता नहीं चल सका है, लेकिन यह पाया गया कि वीडियो कनाडा, ब्रिटेन और दुबई के तीन आईपी एड्रेस से प्रसारित किया गया था। ऐसी खबरें थीं कि अमृतपाल बुधवार को स्वर्ण मंदिर सहित किसी भी बड़े गुरुद्वारे में सरेंडर कर सकता है। पुलिस की भारी तैनाती थी लेकिन भगोड़ा कहीं नजर नहीं आया। अमृतपाल को लेकर चार बातें बिल्कुल साफ हैं । एक, उसे अंदाज़ा है कि वो अब ज्यादा देर पुलिस से बच नहीं पाएगा, इसीलिए उसने अपना वीडियो जारी किया । दूसरी बात ये कि जिस दिन पहली बार पुलिस उसे पकड़ने आई थी, तो उसका जो वीडियो सामने आया था उसमें पुलिस का खौफ अमृतपाल के चेहरे पर साफ दिखाई दे रहा था। उसका घबराकर ये कहना कि ‘पुलिस आ गई, पुलिस आ गई’, दिखा रहा था कि वो गिरफ्तार होने से कितना डरा हुआ था । अमृतपाल का नया वीडियो इस इंप्रेशन को दूर करने के लिए भी है कि वो डरपोक है, इसीलिए वो कह रहा है कि वो गिरफ्तार होने से नहीं डरता, कोई उसका बाल भी बांका नहीं कर सकता । तीसरी बात ये कि अमृतपाल इतने दिनों तक इसलिए बचता रहा कि पंजाब के सिस्टम में उसका साथ देने वाले कई लोग मौजूद हैं, वो हुलिया बदलता रहा, गाड़ियां बदलता रहा, उसे छुपने की जगहें मिलती रहीं, सूचनाएं मिलती रही, ये बिना सिस्टम के सपोर्ट के संभव नहीं है । चौथी बात ये कि अमृतपाल और उसका इस्तेमाल करने वाले इस बात से परेशान हैं कि पुलिस एक्शन का पंजाब में कोई खास रिएक्शन नहीं हुआ, इसीलिए अमृतपाल अपने वीडियो में लोगों को भड़काने की कोशिश कर रहा है, धर्म के नाम पर, कौम के नाम पर लोगों को उकसाने की कोशिश में लगा है, पर मुझे लगता है कि पंजाब के लोगों ने ये सब बहुत बार देखा है । अब लोग अमन चैन से रहना चाहते हैं । इसलिए अमृतपाल के इरादे नाकाम होंगे । समस्या उन लोगों से हैं जो अपनी सियासत चमकाने के चक्कर में अमृतपाल जैसे लोगों का नाम लेते हैं। धर्म की आड़ लेकर लोगों को भड़काते हैं । मैं भगवंत मान की तारीफ करूंगा कि वो अमृतपाल और उसके साथियों के खिलाफ एक्शन लेने से डरे नहीं। पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री ने केंद्र सरकार के साथ मिलकर एक्शन लिया। जब अकाल तख्त के जत्थेदार ने अमृतपाल के साथियों को सपोर्ट देने की कोशिश की तो भगवंत मान ने जत्थेदार को करारा जवाब दिया। ये बात इसलिए महत्वपूर्ण है कि शुरुआत में ये इंप्रेशन क्रिएट किया गया था कि पंजाब में आम आदमी पार्टी पर्दे के पीछे से खालिस्तानियों को सपोर्ट करती है। ये भी कहा गया था कि कनाडा में बैठे मिलिटेंट से इस पार्टी के रिश्ते हैं, पर भगवंत मान ने इस इंप्रेशन को गलत साबित कर दिया। कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह जैसे नेताओं को तो लगता था कि पंजाब एक बॉर्डर स्टेट है, सेंसिटिव इलाका है। भगवंत मान इसे संभाल नहीं पाएंगे। लेकिन मैं कहूंगा कि भगवंत मान ने जबरदस्त हिम्मत दिखाई, चाहें उन्हें सरकार चलाने का अनुभव ना हो, लेकिन जब पहली बार देश के दुश्मनों से लड़ने का मौका आया तो वो पीछे नहीं हटे। मुझे यकीन है कि भगवंत मान आगे भी किसी प्रेशर में नहीं आएंगे और पंजाब के दुश्मनों को सबक सिखाएंगे।

यूपी में डर से कांप रहे अपराधी

यूपी के अपराधी डॉन अतीक अहमद को जहां साबरमती जेल में रखा गया है, वहीं उमेश पाल अपहरण मामले में बरी हुए उसके भाई अशरफ को बरेली जेल ले जाया गया है। एक इंटरव्यू में, अशरफ ने कहा, प्रयागराज में यूपी पुलिस के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने उसे बताया कि उसे दो सप्ताह में मार दिया जाएगा, जब उसे फिर से जेल से बाहर ले जाया जाएगा। उसने अधिकारी का नाम नहीं लिया, लेकिन वह डरा हुआ लग रहा था। अशरफ ‘मुख्यमंत्री जी’ जैसे शब्दों का इस्तेमाल कर रहा था और यूपी के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ से उसे बचाने की गुहार लगा रहा था। अशरफ ने कहा, वह पिछले तीन साल से जेल में है, अतीक की पत्नी शाइस्ता परवीन मेयर का चुनाव लड़ना चाहती थीं, लेकिन वह फंस गईं और अंडरग्राउंड हो गई। इंटरव्यू से साफ पता चलता है कि यूपी के बड़े अपराधी अब कानून से कितने डरे हुए हैं। यह वास्तव में दुखद है कि जो लोग हत्या, जबरन वसूली, जमीन हड़पने में लिप्त हैं, वे दावा करते हैं कि वे अपराधी नहीं हैं, बल्कि विधायक हैं। अशरफ के शब्द कि ‘मेरा भाई सांसद और विधायक रहा है, और मैं भी विधायक था’, हमारी राजनीतिक व्यवस्था पर काला धब्बा है। यह राजनीतिक भाईचारे का दुरुपयोग करने के बराबर है। यह उन राजनीतिक दलों द्वारा अतीत में की गई गलतियों का परिणाम है, जिन्होंने वोट और सत्ता की तलाश में अपराधियों की मदद ली। अब समय आ गया है कि सभी राजनीतिक दल अपराधियों और माफिया से दूर रहें।

क्या येदियुरप्पा कर्नाटक में बीजेपी का नेतृत्व करेंगे?

जब भाजपा ने पिछले साल कर्नाटक में विधानसभा चुनावों की तैयारी शुरू की, तो उसने दो महत्वपूर्ण कदम उठाए। एक, अनुभवी नेता बी एस येदियुरप्पा को दरकिनार कर दिया गया और बसवराज बोम्मई को अभियान का नेतृत्व करने की जिम्मेदारी सौंपी गई। दूसरा, मुस्लिम लड़कियों द्वारा ‘हिजाब’ पहनने को एक मुद्दा बनाया गया और हिंदुत्व के एजेंडे को उजागर करने की कोशिश की गई। जब बुधवार को कर्नाटक विधानसभा के लिए चुनाव की तारीखों की घोषणा की गई, तो ऐसा लगता है कि बीजेपी ने दोनों मोर्चों पर अपना रुख बदल लिया है। बोम्मई मुख्यमंत्री बने रहे, लेकिन येदियुरप्पा को सत्ता बरकरार रखने के लिए भाजपा का नेतृत्व करने का काम सौंपा गया है। येदियुरप्पा अपनी राजनीतिक पारी खेल चुके हैं और वह अपने बेटे को कर्नाटक की राजनीति में स्थापित करना चाहते हैं। ऐसा लगता है कि बीजेपी नेतृत्व ने येदियुरप्पा की शर्त मान ली है। दूसरा, कर्नाटक में हिंदुत्व और ‘हिजाब’ अब ज्वलंत मुद्दे नहीं रह गए हैं, और आरक्षण नीति केंद्र में आ गई है। बीजेपी ने मुस्लिमों के लिए आरक्षण हटाकर और वोक्कालिगा और लिंगायत समुदायों के लिए आरक्षण कोटा बढ़ाकर एक बड़ा दांव खेला है। दूसरी ओर, कांग्रेस को उसी समस्या का सामना करना पड़ रहा है, जिसका सामना उसने पहले किया था। पार्टी में नेता ज्यादा हैं और कार्यकर्ता कम। पूर्व में भी मुख्यमंत्री पद की खींचतान पार्टी को डुबा चुकी है। कांग्रेस ने इस बार किसी को भी मुख्यमंत्री पद के उम्मीदवार के तौर पर पेश नहीं करने का फैसला किया है।
