In his seventh consecutive Independence Day address from Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday sent clear messages to both China and Pakistan saying that “our armed forces have replied in the same language to those who dared to challenge our sovereignty either on LoC (Line of Control) or LAC (Line of Actual Control)”.

He did not name China or Pakistan, but the allusion was clear. In a hard-hitting but balanced tone, Modi said, “the world has seen how our jawans displayed bravery in Ladakh. The whole of India stands united and resolute on this issue. I bow to our brave jawans from the ramparts of this historic Red Fort.” The Prime Minister said, India’s fight against “terrorism and expansionism” will continue

Modi also pointed out that “neighbours are not only those countries with whom we share our geographical borders, neighbours are those countries too with whom we connect with our hearts.” He was speaking in the context of how India has forged cordial relations with West Asian and South East Asian countries.

The underlying theme of Modi’s speech was self-reliance (atma nirbharta). He called for reducing imports, promoting indigenous industries, creating a negative list of more than 100 defence products for import, unshackling agriculture to allow farmers to sell their products anywhere, and interlinking of roads with railway and ports with airports through development of multi-modal infrastructure. By mentioning ‘vocal for local’, Modi was appealing to people to buy more and more Indian goods, and shun buying foreign products.

Modi asked: “For how long should we continue to export our raw materials and import finished products? We must proceed towards value addition now…The first condition for self-reliance is self-confidence (atmavishwas).”

The Prime Minister announced framing of a national cyber policy to counter cyberattacks and a national digital health mission to provide health IDs to all Indians. On the Coronavirus pandemic, Modi said, three anti-COVID vaccines are presently being developed in India and are awaiting final approval from scientists. “We have made all preparations for distribution of vaccines and the system is in place. The moment the vaccines are ready, we will provide it to our people.”

Modi’s speech was forward-looking in the sense that projects like National Digital Health Mission and National Cyber Policy will be impacting the lives of all Indians in the coming years. Similarly, he announced work on laying undersea optical fibre link with Lakshadweep Islands, like the one inaugurated recently between Chennai and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Communications between mainland India and its islands will now become easier.

Modi has a clear idea of how the Indian farmers need to be freed from all shackles imposed since Independence, so that they can enhance their incomes rapidly. He also spoke of how his government intends to help women, Dalits, tribals and other downtrodden sections of society.

On the whole, the Prime Minister’s speech was optimistic when he mentioned how there has been 18 per cent increase in foreign direct investments in India, how 7,000 new projects in different sectors have been identified to give boost to infrastructure, and how nearly 2 crore households have been provided clean drinking water through taps. Modi’s Independence Day speech was reassuring and it is surely going to invigorate the people who are facing the twin challenges of pandemic and economic recession.

मंगलवार की रात भीड़ द्वारा की गई हिंसा के मद्देनजर बेंगलुरु शहर के बनासवाड़ी पुलिस सब-डिविजन में कर्फ्यू लगा दिया गया है और कई इलाकों में 15 अगस्त तक के लिए धारा 144 लागू कर दी गई है। अपने प्राइम टाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में मैंने कुछ ऐसे वीडियो दिखाए जिनसे पता चलता है कि ये हमले अचानक नहीं हुए थे बल्कि इनकी प्लानिंग पहले ही कर ली गई थी। इन फुटेज में साफ दिख रहा है कि कुछ लोग हथियारों से लैस भीड़ को पैकेट बांट रहे हैं। इसके कुछ ही देर बाद ये भीड़ जबर्दस्ती दोनों थानों में घुस जाती है।

दंगाइयों ने कई दिन पहले ही बेंगलुरु पुलिस पर हमला करने की प्लानिंग कर ली थी और ईशनिंदा वाली फेसबुक पोस्ट ने सिर्फ एक ट्रिगर पॉइन्ट के रूप में काम किया। वीडियो देखने से साफ तौर पर पता चलता है कि भीड़ आगजनी करने के लिए ही पुलिस थानों में आई थीं, हालांकि जाहिर यह किया गया कि वे फेसबुक पोस्ट करने वाले नवीन के खिलाफ शिकायत दर्ज कराने आए हैं। पुलिस जब नवीन को पकड़ने उसके घर गई हुई थी, तभी भीड़ ने पुलिसवालों पर धावा बोल दिया। ये तथ्य साफ इशारा करते हैं कि ये सब एक सुनियोजित साजिश के तहत हुआ था।

सीसीटीवी फुटेज में एक शख्स दोपहिया वाहन पर आता दिख रहा है और भीड़ में 2 लोगों को पैकेट दे रहा है। पुलिस ने अब इन दोनों लोगों की पहचान कर ली है। SDPI (सोशल डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी ऑफ इंडिया) नाम के एक मुस्लिम संगठन के नेता दावा कर रहे थे कि पुलिस विवादित फेसबुक पोस्ट करने वाले शख्स के खिलाफ कार्रवाई करने में आनाकानी कर रही थी, इसलिए भीड़ हिंसक हो गई।

बेंगलुरु पुलिस मुदस्सिर अहमद की तलाश में जुटी हुई है। यह वही शख्स है जिसने आपत्तिजनक फेसबुक पोस्ट का स्क्रीनशॉट अपने समर्थकों में सर्कुलेट किया था। मुदस्सिर अहमद ने अपने मैसेज में मुसलमानों से डीजे हल्ली पुलिस स्टेशन में जल्द से जल्द जमा होने के लिए कहा। मुदस्सिर अहमद ने अपने मैसेज में लिखा कि कांग्रेस विधायक श्रीनिवास मूर्ति के भांजे ने हमारे नबी की शान में गुस्ताखी की है। लगभग एक दर्जन अन्य अकाउंट्स हैं जिनके जरिए मुसलमानों को उनके घरों से बाहर निकलने और प्रदर्शन करने के लिए उकसाया गया था। पुलिस इन सभी सोशल मीडिया अकाउंट्स की जांच कर रही है।

इस मामले में स्थानीय कांग्रेस की अंदरूनी लड़ाई के बारे में भी एक ऐंगल सामने आया है। पुलिस द्वारा दर्ज की गई 3 FIRs में से एक में कलीम नाम के एक शख्स का नाम है जो इस इलाके का काउंसलर रह चुका है। फिलहाल कलीम की बीवी इरशाद बेगम इस इलाके की कांग्रेस पार्षद हैं। कांग्रेस विधायक अखंड श्रीनिवास मूर्ति पहले जनता दल (सेक्युलर) में थे, लेकिन 2 साल पहले पार्टी छोड़ दी और कांग्रेस के टिकट पर चुनाव लड़ा। उन्होंने पुलकेशी नगर विधानसभा सीट से चुनाव में जीत दर्ज की।

कांग्रेस के स्थानीय नेता श्रीनिवास मूर्ति से नाराज हैं और वे उन्हें अपनी पार्टी में एक घुसपैठिए के रूप में देखते हैं। कलीम के कांग्रेस के बड़े नेताओं से अच्छे रिश्ते हैं। कलीम ने पूर्व गृह मंत्री के. जे. जॉर्ज के साथ भीड़ का हमला झेलने वाले दोनों पुलिस थानों, डीजे हल्ली और केजी हल्ली का दौरा किया था। भीड़ ने कांग्रेस विधायक के घर और दफ्तर में आग लगा दी, लेकिन अभी तक उन्होंने FIR दर्ज नहीं करवाई है। विधायक ने सिर्फ इतना कहा है कि दोषियों को भगवान सजा देंगे। श्रीनिवास मूर्ति का दावा है कि पिछले 10 साल से उनकी अपने भांजे नवीन से बातचीत नहीं हुई है। वह दंगों के लिए किसी भी राजनीतिक संगठन का नाम तक लेने से बच रहे हैं। साफ है कि मूर्ति मुसलमानों को नाराज करने का जोखिम नहीं लेना चाहते, जो कि उनके निर्वाचन क्षेत्र में मतदाताओं के एक बड़े हिस्से का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हैं।

पूर्वी बेंगलुरु में स्थिति तनावपूर्ण बनी हुई है और गुरुवार को अर्धसैनिक बलों को दंगा प्रभावित इलाकों में फ्लैग मार्च करना पड़ा। कर्फ्यू और प्रतिबंधात्मक आदेश अगले 2 दिनों तक जारी रहेंगे। मैंने कई इस्लामिक स्कॉलर्स से बात की है, जिन्होंने कहा कि उनके पैगंबर के खिलाफ कई भड़काऊ पोस्ट सोशल मीडिया पर मिल जाएंगी, लेकिन इसका मतलब यह नहीं है कि लोगों को कानून अपने हाथ में ले लेना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि एक फेसबुक पोस्ट के चलते पुलिस स्टेशन में आग लगा देना, पुलिस के हथियार छीनने की कोशिश करना नाजायज है, गुनाह है।

इस्लामिक स्कॉलर्स ने ये भी कहा कि भतीजे द्वारा पोस्ट की गईं आपत्तिजनक टिप्पणियों के लिए विधायक को दोषी ठहराना गलत है। उन्होंने कहा कि उकसावे की चाहे जो वजह हो, घरों और गाड़ियों में आग लगाना गुनाह है। मौलानाओं ने कहा कि कुछ मुस्लिम नेता जिन्होंने भीड़ को उकसाया, इस्लाम के दुश्मन हैं। जब भी इस तरह की आगजनी और हिंसा होती है, तो उसमें सबसे ज्यादा नुकसान मुसलमानों को ही होता है। वे समाज के दूसरे लोगों की हमदर्दी खो देते हैं।

मुझे लगता है कि सही सोच वाले मुस्लिम स्कॉलर्स की बातों को उनके समुदाय के लोगों तक पहुंचाया जाना चाहिए, जो आसानी से भड़काने वालों की बातों में आ जाते हैं। हालांकि, उन लोगों को कड़ी से कड़ी सजा दी जानी चाहिए जिन्होंने बेंगलुरु में भीड़ द्वारा हमले की साजिश रची थी जिससे पुलिस और पब्लिक प्रॉपर्टी को नुकसान पहुंचा। उन्हें बख्शा नहीं जाना चाहिए। उनकी असलियत सबके सामने लाने की जरूरत है।

Curfew has been clamped in Banaswadi police sub-division of Bengaluru city and prohibitory orders under Sec 144 have been enforced in several areas till August 15 in view of violent attacks by mobs on Tuesday night. In prime time my show ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ I telecast videos to show how the attacks were not spontaneous but pre-planned. The videos show people distributing packets to armed mobs before they forcibly entered two police stations.

The perpetrators had planned to attack Bengaluru police several days ago and the blasphemous Facebook posting only acted as a trigger point. The videos clearly establish that mobs were brought to police stations to indulge in arson, though the ostensible reason was to file a complaint against the Facebook offender, Naveen. The mob started attacking police, even when policemen had gone out to Naveen’s home to pick him up. These facts clearly point towards a premeditated plan.

The CCTV footage shows a man coming on a two-wheeler and handing over packets to two persons in the mob. The two persons have now been identified by police. Leaders of SDPI (Social Democratic Party of India), a Muslim outfit, had been claiming that the mob became violent because police was dragging its feet over taking action against the Facebook offender.

Bengaluru police is hunting for Mudassir Ahmed, the man who took screen shot of the objectionable Facebook post and circulated among his supporters. The man, Mudassir Ahmed, in his messages, was appealing to Muslims to gather immediately at DJ Halli police station because a nephew of the local Congress MLA has denigrated the Prophet. There are almost a dozen other accounts through which Muslims were incited to come out of their homes and protest. Police is investigating all these social media accounts.

Another angle about local intra-Congress party rivalry has emerged. One of the three FIRs filed by police, names a man named Kaleem, a former councillor, whose wife Irshad Begum is presently the Congress councillor. The Congress MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy, was earlier in Janata Dal (S), but left the party two years ago and contested on a Congress ticket. He won the elections from Pulakeshi Nagar assembly constituency.

Local Congress leaders are unhappy with the MLA whom they regard as an interloper. Kaleem has good contacts with top Congress leaders in the state. He, along with former Home Minister K. J. George, had visited the DJ Halli and KG Halli police stations, which bore the brunt of the mob’s attacks. The mobs set fire to the Congress MLA’s home and office, and yet he has not come forward to file FIRs. The MLA has only said that God will punish the culprits. Srinivasa Murthy claims that he has not met his nephew Naveen for the last ten years. He avoided naming any political outfit for the riots. Clearly, Murthy does not want to antagonize Muslims, who constitute a large chunk of voters in his constituency.

The situation in East Bengaluru continues to remain tense and on Thursday, paramilitary forces had to stage flag march in the riot-hit areas. Curfew and prohibitory orders will continue for the next two days.

I have spoken to several Islamic scholars, who said that there were umpteen number of objectionable posts on social media against their Prophet, but this does not mean that people should take law into their own hands. To set fire to a police station, trying to loot weapons from police because of an FB post, is nothing but a crime, they said.

The Islamic scholars said it was wrong to blame the MLA for the derogatory comment posted by his nephew. They said, whatever may be the provocation, setting fire to homes and vehicles is a crime. The Maulanas alleged that some Muslims leaders who incited the mobs were enemies of Islam. Whenever such arson and violence take place, the ultimate victims are Muslims, who lose sympathy of other communities.

I think the message from right-thinking Muslims scholars must be conveyed to those in their community, who are easily incited by provocative speeches. However, stringent punishment must be meted out to those who planned these mob attacks in Bengaluru causing damage to police stations and public property. They must not be spared. They need to be exposed publicly.

पूर्वी बेंगलुरु में मंगलवार रात को हुई हिंसा में 3 लोगों की मौत हो गई और 60 से भी ज्यादा अन्य लोग घायल हो गए। इस पूर्व नियोजित हिंसा में घायल होने वाले लोगों में ज्यादातर पुलिसकर्मी थे। पुलिस ने इस मामले में सोशल डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी ऑफ इंडिया (SDPI) के प्रवक्ता मुजम्मिल पाशा को गिरफ्तार किया है। पाशा ने ही पुलिस से झड़प करने वाली और उनपर पथराव एवं आगजनी करने वाली भीड़ का नेतृत्व किया था। पुलिस ने 145 से ज्यादा लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया है और कर्नाटक के गृह मंत्री ने कहा है कि बेंगलुरु हिंसा में हुए नुकसान की वसूली प्रदर्शनकारियों से की जाएगी।

ये सारा फसाद एक स्थानीय कांग्रेस विधायक श्रीनिवास मूर्ति के भांजे नवीन द्वारा फेसबुक पर पोस्ट की गई एक आपत्तिजनक टिप्पणी के चलते हुआ था, जिसमें उसने पैगंबर मोहम्मद का अपमान किया था। इस फेसबुक पोस्ट को मुजम्मिल पाशा और बाकी लोगों ने सर्कुलेट किया और लोगों से कहा कि वे पैगंबर मोहम्मद के अपमान का बदला लेने के लिए बाहर निकलकर प्रदर्शन करें। बेंगलुरु पुलिस ने फेसबुक पर अभद्र टिप्पणी पोस्ट करने वाले युवक को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है।

हिंसक भीड़ में से किसी ने भी यह जानने की कोशिश नहीं की कि फेसबुक पर अभद्र कमेंट करने वाले लड़के के खिलाफ पुलिस ने क्या कार्रवाई की, और न ही किसी ने यह सोचा कि वे किसी एक शख्स के आपराधिक कृत्य का बदला लेने के लिए पुलिस स्टेशन को निशाना क्यों बनाएं। सबसे ज्यादा हैरानी की बात तो यह थी कि कैसे सोशल मीडिया के जरिए भड़काऊ मैसेज भेजे जाने के कुछ ही देर बाद हजारों की भीड़ इकट्ठा हो गई। आगजनी को अंजाम देने के लिए दंगाइयों को फ्यूल और अन्य सामान किसने मुहैया कराया?

बेंगलुरु के हमारे रिपोर्टर टी. राघवन ने तथ्यों और घटनाओं को एक साथ पिरोया है ताकि इस घटना का सीक्वेंस समझा जा सके। शाम करीब 5 बजे फेसबुक पोस्ट का स्क्रीनशॉट व्हाट्सऐप पर वायरल किया गया था। इस मैसेज को ज्यादातर मुसलमानों के पास भेजा गया जिसमें उनसे घरो से बाहर निकलने के लिए कहा गया। शाम 6 बजे मुजम्मिल पाशा अपने समर्थकों के साथ डीजे हल्ली पुलिस स्टेशन पहुंचा और नवीन की गिरफ्तारी की मांग की। पुलिस ने उसकी शिकायत पर कार्रवाई करने का वादा किया।

इस बीच, एसडीपीआई कार्यकर्ता व्हाट्सएप पर मैसेज वायरल कर रहे थे जिनमें वे समर्थकों को इकट्ठा होने के लिए कह रहे थे। जल्द ही अफवाह फैल गई कि नवीन विधायक के घर में छिपा हुआ है। इतन सुनते ही भीड़ वहां इकट्ठी हो गई। इसके बाद भीड़ ने विधायक के ऑफिस में तोड़फोड़ की और उनके घर में आग लगा दी।

यह भीड़ उस भीड़ से अलग थी जो ‘अल्लाहु अकबर’ के नारे लगाते हुए डीजे हल्ली पुलिस स्टेशन को आग लगाने के लिए गई थी। भीड़ पुलिस स्टेशन के अंदर घुसी और बाहर खड़ी अधिकांश गाड़ियों को आग के हवाले कर दिया। पुलिसवालों के मुकाबले भीड़ में ज्यादा लोग थे और वे एक्स्ट्रा फोर्स को आने के लिए रास्ता भी नहीं दे रहे थे। कोई रास्ता न देख पुलिस को गोलीबारी का सहारा लेना पड़ा। इसमें 3 लोगों की मौत हो गई और भीड़ पीछे हटने लगी। हालांकि तब तक पुलिस स्टेशन आग से जलकर लगभग पूरी तरह बर्बाद हो चुका था।

मैंने वह वीडियो देखा है जिसमें मुजम्मिल पाशा अपने समर्थकों को यह कहकर उकसा रहा था कि यह यूपी या बिहार नहीं है, और बेंगलुरु के मुसलमान अपने पैगंबर के अपमान का बदला लेकर लेंगे। विधायक के घर और दफ्तर में आग लगाने के बाद भीड़ ने आंजनेय स्वामी मंदिर ट्रस्ट के प्रमुख मुनेगौड़ा के घर में भी तोड़फोड़ की। मुनेगौड़ा का विधायक या उनके भांजे के पोस्ट से कोई लेना-देना भी नहीं था, फिर भी उनके घर को निशाना बनाया गया।

पैगंबर मोहम्मद को बदनाम करना बेहद ही आपत्तिजनक है और इसकी निंदा की जानी चाहिए। दुनिया को शांति और भाईचारे का पैगाम देने वाले पैगंबर का अपमान करके किसी समुदाय की धार्मिक भावनाओं को आहत करना अपराध है। लेकिन, घरों, गाड़ियों और पुलिस स्टेशनों में आग लगाना पैगंबर के सच्चे अनुयायियों का काम नहीं हो सकता। 3 लोगों की मौत और 60 लोगों के घायल होने के जिम्मेदार लोग इस्लाम के सच्चे अनुयायी नहीं हो सकते।

मुझे बताया गया है कि किसी ने जन्माष्टमी के दौरान फेसबुक पर भगवान कृष्ण के बारे में आपत्तिजनक टिप्पणी पोस्ट की थी, और जवाब में विधायक के भांजे ने पैगंबर मोहम्मद के बारे में यह आपत्तिजनक टिप्पणी पोस्ट की। ये दोनों कृत्य निंदनीय हैं और इनकी निंदा किए जाने की जरूरत है।

भगवान कृष्ण पर की गई अभद्र टिप्पणी को भी थोड़े-बहुत लोगों ने देखा और मोहम्मद साहब के बारे में किए गए कमेंट को भी गिने-चुने लोगों ने ही देखा। लेकिन इस टिप्पणी का स्क्रीनशॉट लेना और इसे सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल करके लोगों को बाहर आने और विरोध करने के लिए उकसाना एक आपराधिक कृत्य है। मजहब के नाम पर हिंसा भड़काने वालों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई होनी चाहिए। इन लोगों ने नफरत और हिंसा की चिंगारी को हवा दी और इन्हें कड़ी सजा मिलनी चाहिए। ऐसे लोग आगजनी और हिंसा का सहारा लेकर इस्लाम को बदनाम कर रहे हैं।

The violence that rocked East Bengaluru on Tuesday night leading to the death of three people and injuries to more than 60 others, mostly policemen, was pre-meditated, pre-planned. Police have arrested a spokesperson of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) Muzammil Pasha, who led the mob to carry out stoning, arson and clashes with police. More than 145 others have been arrested and the Home Minister of Karnataka has said that the protesters will be made to pay for the losses they have inflicted in India’s IT capital.
The immediate provocation for the violence was a derogatory Facebook comment posted by Naveen, a nephew of a local Congress MLA, Srinivasa Murthy, in which he insulted Prophet Mohammed. This FB post was circulated by Muzammil Pasha and others asking the devouts to come out and protest because the Prophet has been insulted. Bengaluru police have also arrested the youth who posted the derogatory comment on Facebook.
None among the violent mob tried to find out what action police took against the youth who posted the FB comment, nor did anybody give a thought to why they should attack police stations in retaliation over one individual’s criminal act.
The most surprising part was how thousands of people congregated all of a sudden in response to provocative messages forwarded through social media. Who provided the rioters with fuel and other incendiary material to carry out arson?
Our Bengaluru reporter T. Raghavan has pieced together facts and incidents to create a sequence of events. At around 5 pm, screenshot of the FB comment was viral on WhatsApp and was being forwarded mostly among Muslims, asking them to come out. At 6 pm, Muzammil Pasha went with his supporters to DJ Halli police station demanding Naveen’s arrest. Police took down their complaint and promised action. Meanwhile, SDPI workers were furiously circulating messages on WhatsApp asking supporters to congregate. Soon, rumours spread that Naveen was hiding in the MLA’s house, and the mob collected there. They ransacked his office and set fire to the house. This mob was different from the mob that had gone to set the DJ Halli police station on fire amidst chants of “Allahu Akbar”. The crowd entered the police station, and set fire to most of the vehicles parked outside. The police was vastly outnumbered by the mob, which was preventing additional forces from reaching the spot. It was then that the police had to resort to firing. Three people died and the crowd started retreating. By that time, the police station was mostly reduced to ashes.
I have seen the video in which Muzammil Pasha was inciting his supporters by saying that this was not UP or Bihar, and the Muslims of Bengaluru will take revenge for the insult heaped on our Prophet. After setting fire to the MLA’s house and office, the mob also ransacked the house of Munegowda, head of Anjaneya Swami Temple Trust. Munegowda had nothing to do with the MLA or his nephew’s post, but his house was attacked.
Denigrating Prophet Mohammed is highly objectionable and must not be condoned. It is a crime to hurt the religious feelings of a community by insulting the Prophet who has given the message of peace and brotherhood to the world. But, setting fire to homes, vehicles and police stations cannot be the work of true followers of the Prophet. Those responsible for the death of three persons and injuries to 60 others cannot be true believers of Islam.
I have been told that somebody posted an objectionable comment about Lord Krishna on Facebook during Janmashtami, and in response, the MLA’s nephew posted this objectionable remark about Prophet Mohammed. Both these acts are reprehensible and need to be condemned.
Only a few people read the objectionable FB comment on Lord Krishna, and similarly, a few people read the insulting comment about the Prophet. But, to take screenshot of this comment and making it viral on social media, and by inciting people to come out and protest, is a criminal act. Action must be taken against those who incited violence in the name of religion. These people fanned flames of hatred and violence, and they must be punished. Such people are bringing a bad name to Islam by resorting to arson and violence.

रूस के राष्ट्रपति व्लादिमीर पुतिन द्वारा दुनिया की पहली COVID वैक्सीन की लॉन्चिंग की घोषणा एक राहत देने वाली खबर है। हालांकि इस वैक्सीन के असर को लेकर कुछ आशंकाएं भी हैं। यह गुड न्यूज एक ऐसे समय में आई है जब अमेरिका, ब्राजील, भारत, रूस और दक्षिण अफ्रीका जैसे देशों में महामारी जंगल की आग की तरह फैल रही है।

अभी तक इस महामारी से कुल 2.05 करोड़ लोग संक्रमित हुए हैं जिनमें से लगभग 7.5 लाख लोगों को अपनी जान गंवानी पड़ी है। अमेरिका कोरोना वायरस से संक्रमण के 53.05 लाख मामलों और 1.67 लाख से ज्यादा मौतों के साथ लिस्ट में सबसे ऊपर है। अमेरिका के बाद ब्राजील का नंबर आता है जहां 31.12 लाख संक्रमितों में से लगभग एक लाख की मौत हो चुकी है। भारत इस लिस्ट में 23.3 लाख मामलों और 46 हजार से भी ज्यादा मौतों के साथ तीसरे स्थान पर आता है। महामारी का फैलाव जिस हिसाब से हुआ है, वह वाकई में डरावना है।

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने मंगलवार को उन 10 राज्यों के मुख्यमंत्रियों से वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के जरिए बात की, जहां महामारी तेजी से फैल रही है। मोदी ने बिहार, गुजरात, उत्तर प्रदेश, पश्चिम बंगाल और तेलंगाना के मुख्यमंत्रियों को युद्धस्तर पर कोरोना वायरस की टेस्टिंग करने, हॉटस्पॉट्स में महामारी को रोकने के लिए कड़ी मेहनत करने और 72 घंटे के भीतर संक्रमितों के संपर्क में आए लोगों की कॉन्टैक्ट ट्रेसिंग करने के लिए कहा। इस समय भारत के कुल COVID मामलों में से 10 इन राज्यों में हैं। मोदी ने मुख्यमंत्रियों से मृत्यु दर को एक प्रतिशत तक लाने के लिए कहा, ताकि संक्रमण का जल्द पता लग सके और लोगों को समय पर इलाज मिले।

भारत में मंगलवार को कोरोना वायरस से संक्रमण के कुल 60,963 नए मामले सामने आए थे और 834 लोगों की मौत हुई थी। इसी के साथ COVID मामलों का कुल आंकड़ा 23,29,639 तक पहुंच गया है, जिसमें से 6,43,948 ऐक्टिव केस हैं और 16,39,600 लोग इस बीमारी से रिकवर हो चुके हैं। संक्रमण के चलते अब तक 46,091 लोगों को अपनी जान गंवानी पड़ी है। इंडियन काउंसिल ऑफ मेडिकल रिसर्च के मुताबिक, देश भर में 2.60 करोड़ सैंपल्स की टेस्टिंग की जा चुकी है। इनमें से 7,33,449 सैंपल्स की टेस्टिंग तो अकेले मंगलवार को ही हुई। ये आंकड़े पूरे भारत में बड़े पैमाने पर की जा रही टेस्टिंग को दर्शाते हैं।

इन सकारात्मक संकेतकों के बावजूद भारत अभी भी खतरे से बाहर नही है। लोग बेसब्री से एक कारगर वैक्सीन के सामने आने का इंतजार कर रहे हैं ताकि महामारी पर कंट्रोल किया जा सके। रूसी राष्ट्रपति ने कहा है कि उनके स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय ने Sputnik V वैक्सीन को नियामक मंजूरी दे दी है, हालांकि अभी इसका फाइनल ट्रायल नहीं हुआ है। पुतिन ने दावा किया कि उनकी एक बेटी ने टीका लगवा लिया है और इसके बाद वह अच्छा महसूस कर रही हैं।

सिस्टेमा, जो कि एक रूसी बिजनस ग्रुप है, इस साल के अंत तक मॉस्को के गामालेया इंस्टिट्यूट द्वारा विकसित की गई इस वैक्सीन का बड़े पैमाने पर उत्पादन शुरू कर देगा। रूस के डॉक्टरों और शिक्षकों को इस महीने के अंत से टीका लगना शुरू हो जाएगा, और उम्मीद है कि अक्टूबर तक इसे बड़े पैमाने पर लोगों को लगाना शुरू कर दिया जाएगा। यदि पुतिन का दावा सही साबित होता है, और विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (WHO) इस टीके को मंजूरी दे देता है, तो यह पूरी दुनिया के लिए एक बड़ी राहत होगी। डब्ल्यूएचओ का मानना है कि रूसी जल्दबाजी कर रहे हैं क्योंकि फाइनल ट्रायल, जिसमें हजारों लोग शामिल होते हैं, होना अभी बाकी है।

रूस में दुनिया के शीर्ष दवा निर्माताओं का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाली संस्था एसोसिएशन ऑफ क्लिनिकल ट्रायल ऑर्गनाइजेशन ने पहले ही अंतिम परीक्षण सफलतापूर्वक पूरा होने तक अप्रूवल रोकने के लिए स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय को लिखा है। संगठन ने कहा है कि अब तक 100 से कम लोगों को टीका दिया गया है और ऐसे में सामूहिक टीकाकरण खतरनाक हो सकता है।

दुनिया में इस समय कम से कम 160 टीकों पर काम चल रहा है। इनमें से आधिकांश टीके अमेरिका, ब्रिटेन, इजरायल और चीन में बनाने की कोशिश की जा रही है। भारत में इस समय तीन टीके क्लिनिकल ट्रायल स्टेज पर हैं। भारत बायोटेक और कैडिला हेल्थकेयर स्थानीय रूप से विकसित वैक्सीन कैंडिड पर फेज 1 और फेज 2 का क्लिनिकल ट्रायल कर रहे हैं, जबकि पुणे स्थित सीरम इंस्टीट्यूट ब्रिटेन की ऑक्सफर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी में विकसित वैक्सीन कैंडिडेट के लिए फेज 3 ट्रायल कर रहा है।

इस समय दुनियाभर में 19 टीकों पर फेज 1 का ट्रायल किया जा रहा है, 12 टीके फेज 2 के ट्रायल में हैं, और 5 टीकों का फेज 3 ट्रायल चल रहा है। 5 टीके अंतिम ट्रायल स्टेज में पहुंच चुके हैं और इनके शुरुआती नतीजे अक्टूबर तक आने की उम्मीद है। भारत सरकार, नीति आयोग के सदस्य डॉ. वी. के. पॉल की अध्यक्षता में, वैक्सीन ऐडमिनिस्ट्रेशन पर गठित अपनी नेशनल एक्सपर्ट कमिटी के जरिए अन्य देशों के साथ संपर्क में है। समिति में स्वास्थ्य सचिव, विदेश सचिव, जैव प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग के सचिव और आईसीएमआर एवं एम्स के प्रमुख शामिल हैं।

सरकार ने कहा है कि दुनियाभर में कहीं भी एक कारगर वैक्सीन सामने आती है तो उसे खरीदने और लोगों को उपलब्ध कराने की पूरी कोशिश की जाएगी। हमें आशा करनी चाहिए कि एक प्रभावी वैक्सीन का इंतजार जल्द ही खत्म होगा और महामारी पर कंट्रोल कर लिया जाएगा।

The announcement by Russian President Vladimir Putin about the launch of the world’s first COVID vaccine has come as a welcome news, tinged with some uncertainties about its efficacy. This good news comes at a time when the pandemic is spreading like wildfire in countries like the US, Brazil, India, Russia and South Africa.
So far, the pandemic has infected 2.05 crore causing nearly 7.5 lakh deaths. USA leads the list with 53.05 lakhs cases and more than 167,000 deaths. Brazil comes second with 31.12 lakhs and more than one lakh deaths. India is third in this list with 23.3 lakh cases and more than 46,000 deaths. The scale of the pandemic is, indeed, frightening.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a video meeting with chief ministers of ten states where the spread of the pandemic is alarming. Modi asked the chief ministers of Bihar, Gujarat, UP, West Bengal and Telangana to ramp up testing on a war footing, work hard on containing the pandemic in hot spots and ensure contact-tracing within 72 hours of people who were close to infected persons. These ten states account for 80 percent of COVID cases in India at the moment.
Modi asked the chief ministers to reduce fatality rate to one percent, which would mean success in detecting infections early and ensuring timely treatment.
On Tuesday, there was a spike of 60,963 fresh COVID cases and 834 deaths reported in India. Total COVID case tally has gone up to 23,29,639, out of which 6,43,948 were active cases and 16,39,600 people recovered. Total death tally stands at 46,091. A huge 2.60 crore samples were taken across the country, according to Indian Council of Medical Research. Out of these, 7,33,449 samples were tested on Tuesday alone, indicating the scale of testing that is being carried out across India.
In spite of these positive indicators, India is still not out of the woods. People are impatiently waiting for a successful vaccine to be introduced so that the pandemic can be controlled. The Russian President has said that his health ministry has given regulatory approval to the Sputnik V vaccine, though it has not completed the final trials. Putin claimed that one of his daughters has taken the vaccine and felt good afterwards.
Sistema, a Russian business conglomerate, will put the vaccine, developed by Moscow’s Gamaleya Institute, into mass production by the end of this year. Doctors and teachers will be vaccinated from this month’s end, and mass roll-out is expected to begin in Russia by October.
If Putin’s claims prove true, and if WHO approves this vaccine, it will come as a big relief to the entire world. WHO believes that the Russians seem to be in a hurry as the final trials, involving thousands of people, are yet to take place.
Already, the Association of Clinical Trials Organisations, a body representing the world’s top drug makers in Russia, has written to the Health Ministry to postpone approval till the final trials are successfully completed. The organization has said that less than 100 people have been given the vaccine till now and therefore, mass vaccination could be hazardous.
Work is going on at least 160 vaccines across the world, mostly in US, UK, Israel and China. In India, three vaccines are in the clinical trial stage. Bharat Biotech and Cadila Healthcare are conducting Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials on locally developed vaccine candidates, while Pune-based Serum Institute is doing Phase 3 trialsfor Oxford University’s vaccine candidate developed in UK.
At present, 19 vaccines across the world are undergoing Phase 1 trial, 12 vaccines are in Phase 2 trial, and five vaccines are in Phase 3 trial. Five vaccines have entered the final trial stage and the preliminary results are expected only in October.
The Indian government, through its national expert committee on vaccine administration, headed by Dr V K Paul, member, Niti Aayog, is in touch with other countries. The committee includes the health secretary, foreign secretary, biotechnology department secretary, and chiefs of ICMR and AIIMS.
The government has maintained that once an effective vaccine is available anywhere throughout the world, efforts will be made to procure them and make it available to the people. Let us hope that the wait for an effective vaccine will end soon and the pandemic will be brought under control.

बॉलीवुड अभिनेत्री रिया चक्रवर्ती का मानना है कि बिहार के नेता वहां चुनाव की वजह से सुशान्त सिंह राजपूत की मौत के मामले को ज़रूरत से ज्यादा तूल दे रहे हैं । शिव सेना नेता संजय राउत का कहना है कि भाजपा और जद(यू) के नेता चुनाव में बिहार के मतदाताओं पर असर डालने के लिए इस केस का राजनीतिक इस्तेमाल कर रहे हैं। रिया के वकीलों का कहना है कि बिहार में यदि केस चला तो उसे वहां न्याय नहीं मिलेगा। शिव सेना के नेता मानते हैं कि मुम्बई पुलिस इस केस से निपटने के लिए सक्षम है। लेकिन दूसरे पक्ष का कहना है कि मुम्बई पुलिस कुछ खास लोगों को बचाने की कोशिश कर रही है। इन सबका नतीजा अब ये हुआ कि सुशान्त की असामयिक और दुर्भाग्यजनक मौत का मामला राजनीतिक फुटबॉल बन कर रह गया है, जो कि वस्तुत: दुखद है।

रिया चक्रवर्ती ने सोमवार को सुप्रीम कोर्ट में कहा कि उसे अपने पूर्व दोस्त सुशांत सिंह राजपूत की मौत की सीबीआई जांच पर कोई आपत्ति नहीं है, लेकिन सीबीआई जांच पटना कोर्ट के दायरे में न होकर मुंबई कोर्ट के दायरे में होनी चाहिए। रिया चक्रवर्ती को लगता है कि बिहार पुलिस सुशांत राजपूत के मामले को इसलिए ज्यादा तूल दे रही है कि क्योंकि वहां पर चुनाव होनेवाले हैं। वहीं शिवसेना नेता संजय राउत का मानना है कि बीजेपी और जेडी (यू) इस मामले का उपयोग बिहार चुनावों में मतदाताओं को प्रभावित करने के लिए कर रही है।

सुप्रीम कोर्ट में दाखिल अपने हलफनामे में रिया ने आरोप लगाया है कि बिहार सरकार ने इस मामले का ‘पूरी तरह से राजनीतिकरण’ कर दिया है क्योंकि यह घटना आगामी बिहार विधानसभा चुनावों से ठीक पहले हुई है। उसने यह भी आरोप लगाया कि पटना में सुशांत के पिता के.के सिंह द्वारा दायर की गई एफआईआर ‘कथित तौर पर बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री द्वारा इस केस में इंटरेस्ट दिखाने की वजह से हुई’।

सुशांत की मौत से जुड़े मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग मामले में सोमवार को मुंबई में रिया और उसके परिवार के सदस्यों से प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ईडी) ने 9 घंटे तक पूछताछ की। ईडी के अधिकारियों ने रिया के बिजनेस मैनेजर श्रुति मोदी और सुशांत के रूममेट सिद्धार्थ पिठानी से भी पूछताछ की।

सुशांत सिंह राजपूत की मौत के मामले में नए-नए खुलासे हो रहे हैं लेकिन इस मामले में सियासी बयानबाजी अब तक के सबसे निचले स्तर पर पहुंच गई है। शिवसेना के नेता संजय राउत ने ऐसी बातें कहीं जिसकी उम्मीद कम से कम सरकार में शामिल पार्टी के नेता से नहीं की जाती। संजय राउत ने सुशांत सिंह राजपूत के पिता के बारे में…उनकी पर्सनल लाइफ के बारे में कमेंट किए।

संजय राउत ने आरोप लगाया कि सुशांत सिंह राजपूत के पिता की दो शादियां हुई थीं। पिता की दूसरी शादी से सुशांत खुश नहीं था और वह ‘परेशान’ था। इसलिए पटना में परिवार वालों से उसके संबंध अच्छे नहीं थे। संजय राउत ने शिवसेना के मुखपत्र ‘सामना’ में लिखा कि इस पीड़ा ने सुशांत को बहुत मानसिक कष्ट पहुंचाया होगा और हो सकता है यही वजह हो कि अपने करियर के शिखर पर उन्हें आत्महत्या जैसे कदम उठाने पड़े । संजय राउत ने लिखा ‘सुशांत के उनके पिता से अच्छे संबंध नहीं थे। यह सच है। इसीलिए सुशांत सिंह पटना नहीं जाते थे….पिता से मिलते नहीं थे। सुशांत अपने पिता से मिलने के लिए कितनी बार पटना गए? मुझे उनके पिता के लिए सहानुभूति है लेकिन कई चीजें हैं जो सामने आएंगी।’

संजय राउत के इस विवादास्पद बयान की बिहार के राजनीतिक सर्किल में जबर्दस्त निंदा हुई। सभी दलों ने पार्टी लाइन से अलग हटकर संजय राउत के बयान की निंदा की। हालांकि सुशांत के पिता ने संजय राउत के बयान पर चुप्पी साध ली, लेकिन सुशांत के चचेरे भाई बीजेपी विधायक नीरज कुमार सिंह ‘बबलू’ इस तरह की ‘घटिया टिप्पणी’ को लेकर राउत पर जमकर बरसे। उन्होंने राउत के खिलाफ मानहानि का मुकदमा दर्ज कराने की धमकी दी। सुशांत के परिवार के करीबी सूत्रों ने इस बात से इंकार किया है कि उनके पिता ने 2002 में अपनी पत्नी के निधन के बाद दूसरी शादी कर ली थी। बबलू ने कहा, संजय राउत को एक बुजुर्ग व्यक्ति के खिलाफ इस तरह की टिप्पणी करने के लिए शर्म आनी चाहिए जो कि अपने इकलौते बेटे की मौत से तबाह हो चुका है।

संजय राउत द्वारा एक अभिनेता की दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण मौत के मुद्दे को राजनीतिक खेल बनाना बेहद दुखद है। यह देखकर दुख होता है। एक ऐसे पिता की प्राइवेट लाइफ पर आरोप लगाना जिसने अपने बेटे को खो दिया.. यह उसकी प्रतिष्ठा का हनन है। बिहार के डीजीपी को बीजेपी या जेडीयू का एजेंट बताना आपत्तिजनक है। शिवसेना के नेताओं का आरोप है कि बिहार के नेता सुशांत की मौत का फायदा उठाना चाह रहे हैं क्योंकि वहां विधानसभा चुनाव होने वाले हैं। यह एक अजीब संयोग है कि रिया चक्रवर्ती भी बिहार सरकार पर इसी तरह के आरोप लगा रही है। लेकिन बिहार के नेताओं को मुंबई पुलिस की निष्पक्षता पर कोई भरोसा नहीं है। उनका मानना है कि मुंबई पुलिस किसी को बचाने की कोशिश कर रही है। अंतत: सुशांत की मौत एक राजनीतिक खेल की तरह बन गई है, जो बहुत दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है।

इतनी कम उम्र में सुशांत की मौत वास्तव में दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है और लोग दुखी हैं… भावुक हैं। किसी को भी इस मुद्दे से राजनीतिक लाभ नहीं लेना चाहिए, चाहे वह JD (U) हो, या BJP या शिवसेना या कांग्रेस।अब सीबीआई ने मामले की जांच शुरू कर दी है और मामला सुप्रीम कोर्ट में है। इसलिए हम सभी को धैर्य रखना चाहिए।

इस बीच, मुंबई पुलिस के सूत्रों ने खुलासा किया है कि रिया और सुशांत का 8 जून को काफी झगड़ा हुआ था। झगड़ा परिवार वालों को लेकर ही था। उसने सुशान्त के परिवार वालों के लिए कुछ कहा जिसके बाद सुशान्त नाराज हो गया। बात हाथापाई तक पहुंच गई, जिसके बाद रिया ने फ्लैट छोड़ दिया था। पुलिस सोर्सेस का कहना है कि ये झगड़ा इतना बढ़ गया था कि मारपीट की नौबत तक आ गई थी। बस इसी झगड़े के बाद से रिया चक्रवर्ती सुशांत का घर छोड़कर चली गई थी और फिर सुशांत के फोन नबंर को भी ब्लॉक कर दिया था।

इंडिया टीवी के रिपोर्टर जयप्रकाश सिंह ने बताया कि सुशांत के फर्म Vividrage Rhealityx Pvt Ltd ने 17 बार अपने आईपी एड्रेस को चेंज किया। सुशांत की मौत के बाद आईपी एड्रेस को तीन बार बदला गया। इसमें आखिरी बदलाव सात अगस्त को किया गया। इस फर्म में रिया और सुशांत दोनों डायरेक्टर थे। बॉम्बे हाईकोर्ट के वकील चांदनी शाह ने कहा कि जब किसी के ट्रैक और ट्रांजेक्शन को कवर करना होता है, तो आईपी एड्रेस बदल दिया जाता है। शाह ने संदेह जताया कि आईपी एड्रेस को संभवत: मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग से संबंधित मामलों के कारण बदला जा रहा होगा।

सुशांत की मौत को लेकर कई सवाल हैं, सुशांत की मौत ने लोगों को हैरान कर दिया है। सुशांत की मौत से जुड़ी हर बात को लोग जानना चाहते हैं। यह सवाल उठाया जा रहा है कि इनकम के कम सोर्स के बाद भी रिया ने मुंबई में फ्लैट कैसे खरीदा? हालांकि इसका पता सीबीआई और ईडी को लगाना है। सबसे अहम सवाल यह है कि सुशांत ने खुदकुशी क्यों की? क्या वह डिप्रेशन में था, अगर ऐसा था तो फिर उसकी बीमारी किस तरह की थी? बीमारी का नेचर क्या था? चूंकि रिया सुशांत की लिव-इन पार्टनर थी, इसलिए ज्यादातर सवाल उसी पर उठ रहे हैं। रिया ही वह शख्स थी जो सुशांत और उसके घर की देखभाल करती थी। इसलिए यह सवाल भी उठ रहा है कि सुशांत की मौत में रिया का क्या रोल था?

रिया ही वह पहली शख्स थी जिसने सुशांत की मौत की सीबीआई जांच कराने की मांग की थी। रिया ने गृह मंत्री अमित शाह को ट्वीट करके सीबीआई जांच की मांग की थी और बाद में कहा कि वह मुंबई पुलिस की जांच से संतुष्ट है। और अब सुप्रीम कोर्ट में कहा कि वह मुंबई कोर्ट के दायरे में सीबीआई जांच चाहती हैं। ऐसे में सवाल उठना स्वाभाविक है कि आखिर उसके रुख में यह बदलाव क्यों?

सुशांत के परिवार वालों ने सुशांत के 15 करोड़ रुपये हड़पने के लिए रिया को दोषी ठहराया है। यह आरोप सुशांत के पिता द्वारा दायर एफआईआर में लगाए गए हैं, और इसलिए इस आरोप में वजह भी है। इन आरोपों की पूरी तरह से जांच करने की जरूरत है। कई लोगों को संदेह है कि रिया सुशांत के पैसे का दुरुपयोग करके संपत्ति खरीद रही थी। इन सभी सवालों के जवाब दिए जाने की जरूरत है। सुशांत की मौत की सच्चाई सामने आनी चाहिए। यह जितनी जल्दी हो, उतना अच्छा।

Bollywood actor Rhea Chakraborty feels that Bihar police is blowing Sushant Rajput’s case out of proportion in order to use it for Bihar elections. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut believes that BJP and JD(U) are planning to use this case to influence voters in coming Bihar elections. Rhea’s lawyers feel she won’t get justice in Bihar. Shiv Sena leaders feel that Mumbai police is competent enough to deal with this case. Those on the other side say that Mumbai police is trying to save some people. The result of all this is that Sushant’s unfortunate and untimely death has become a political football.

In her affidavit, she alleged that the case has been “heavily politicized” by the Bihar government as the incident has taken place just before the forthcoming Bihar assembly elections. She has also alleged that the FIR filed in Patna by Sushant’s father K. K. Singh “was purportedly because of interest shown by the Bihar chief minister.”

Rhea and her family members were interrogated by Enforcement Directorate for nine hours in Mumbai on Monday in connection with a money laundering case related to Sushant’s death. ED officials also grilled Rhea’s business manager Shruti Modi and Sushant’s roommate Sidharth Pithani.

Even as new facts are emerging in the case, political brownie point scoring has gone to a new low with Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut making comments about the personal life of Sushant’s father. Such comments are not expected from the senior leader of a ruling party.

Sanjay Raut has alleged that Sushant was ‘anguished’ over the second marriage of his father and did not have cordial relations with his family in Patna. He wrote in Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamna’ that the anguish might have caused mental distress to Sushant and driven him to suicide at the pinnacle of his career. In his piece, Sanjay Raut has written that “Sushant Singh Rajput was not on good terms with his father. It is true. How many times Sushant went to Patna to meet his father? I have sympathy for his father but there are many things that will come out in the open.”

The controversial remarks by Sanjay Raut drew condemnation from political circles in Bihar cutting across party lines. While Sushant’s father maintained a stoic silence over Raut’s remark, Sushant’s cousin BJP MLA Neeraj Kumar Singh ‘Babu’ lashed out at Raut for his ‘cheap comments’. He threatened to file a defamation suit against Raut. Sources close to Sushant’s family have denied that his father had tied the nuptial knot again after his wife died in 2002. Bablu said, Raut should be ashamed for making such a comment against an elderly person, that too who has been devastated by the death of his son.

I feel sad when I find Sanjay Raut making the issue of the unfortunate death of an actor as a political football game. Levelling charges on the personal life of a father, who has last his son, is demeaning. To describe Bihar police DGP as a BJP or JD(U) agent is objectionable. Shiv Sena leaders are alleging that leaders in Bihar are taking advantage of Sushant’s death because assembly polls are due. It is a strange coincidence that Rhea Chakraborty is also making similar allegations against Bihar government. But Bihar leaders have no faith in the impartiality of Mumbai Police. They believe that Mumbai Police is trying to save someone. Ultimately Sushant’s death has become a matter of political football, which is most unfortunate.

Sushant’s death at such a young age is really unfortunate and people are really sad and emotional. Nobody should take political advantage from this issue, whether from JD(U), or BJP or Shiv Sena or Congress. CBI has taken up the probe and the matter is in Supreme Court. All of us should exercise patience.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police sources have revealed that Rhea and Sushant had a violent quarrel on June 8 over their respective families, after which Rhea left his flat. Sources said, Rhea and Sushant almost came to blows, after which Rhea left and blocked Sushant’s phone number.

India TV reporter Jaiprakash Singh reports that Sushant’s firm Vividrage Rhealityx Pvt Ltd had its IP address changed 17 times. Even after Sushant’s death, its IP address was changed thrice. The last change was made on August 7. Both Sushant and Rhea were directors in this firm. Bombay High Court lawyer Chandni Shah says that when anybody has to cover one’s tracks and transactions, IP address is changed. She suspected that IP addresses were being changed probably because of matters relating to money laundering.

Questions are many, and since Sushant’s death has shocked and puzzled most of the people, each and every bit of information counts. Questions are being raised as to how Rhea, who had less than adequate sources of income, bought flats in Mumbai. It is for the CBI and ED to find out. The moot point is why Sushant committed suicide? Was he suffering from mental depression, if so, what was the nature of his ailment? Since Rhea was his live-in partner, most of the questions are being directed at her, because it was she who was looking after him and his household. What was Rhea’s role in Sushant’s death?

Rhea was the first to demand CBI probe by tweeting to Home Minister Amit Shah, later she said she was satisfied with the probe by Mumbai Police, and now she has told the Supreme Court that she wants a CBI probe under Mumbai court jurisdiction. Why this change in stance?

Sushant’s family members have blamed Rhea for misappropriating his money to the tune of Rs 15 crore. These charges have been made in the FIR filed by Sushant’s father, and therefore carry weight. These charges need to be probed thoroughly. Many people suspect that Rhea was buying properties by misappropriating Sushant’s money. All these questions need to be answered. The truth about Sushant’s death must be revealed. The sooner, the better.

कालीकट अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे (कोझिकोड) पर शुक्रवार की शाम एयर इंडिया एक्सप्रेस के बोईंग -737 विमान की क्रैश लैंडिंग की घटना से पूरे देशवासियों में शोक व्याप्त है। इस हादसे में विमान के दो पायलटों समेत 18 लोगों की मौत हो गई है।

यह विमान दुबई से 191 लोगों को लेकर आ रहा था और टेबल टॉप रनवे पर उतरते समय ओवरशूट कर गया। ओवरशूट होते ही यह विमान रनवे से 35 फीट नीचे ढलान वाली जगह पर जा गिरा और दो टुकड़ों में बंट गया। अच्छी बात ये रही कि विमान में आग नहीं लगी क्योंकि जिस वक्त यह हादसा हुआ उस वक्त मूसलाधार बारिश हो रही थी। इससे अधिकांश यात्रियों की जान बच गई। भारी बारिश के बीच विमान के पायलटों ने दो बार रनवे पर सेफ लैंडिंग की कोशिश की लेकिन तीसरे प्रयास में विमान रनवे पर ओवरशूट हुआ और यह हादसा हो गया।

इस विमान में सवार अधिकांश यात्री केरल के प्रवासी थे जो कोरोना वायरस महामारी के चलते विदेशों में फंसे हुए थे। इन यात्रियों को ‘वंदे भारत’ मिशन के तहत देश वापस लाया जा रहा था। विशेषज्ञों के मुताबिक विमान अपने टचप्वॉइंट से आगे जाकर लैंड किया और टेबलटॉप रनवे पर ओवरशूट कर गया।

हादसे के तुरंत बाद स्थानीय लोगों ने अपने अथक प्रयासों से घटनास्थल पर राहत और बचाव का काम किया जिससे हादसे के नुकसान को काफी कम किया जा सका। स्थानीय लोग अपनी गाड़ियों से घटनास्थल पर पहुंचे और घायलों को अस्पतालों में पहुंचाना शुरू कर दिया। स्थानीय लोगों के साथ एयरपोर्ट के कर्मचारी, फायर फाइटर्स, एम्बुलेंस कर्मियों और एयरपोर्ट पर मौजूद सुरक्षाकर्मियों ने हाथ से हाथ मिलकर राहत और बचाव को अंजाम दिया।

दोनों पायलटों की मौत इस हादसे का दुखद पहलू है। कैप्टन दीपक वसंत साठे भारतीय वायुसेना में विंग कमांडर रह चुके थे और 10 साल पहले सर्विस से रिटायर होने के बाद उन्होंने एयर इंडिया ज्वॉइन किया था। एनडीए (नेशनल डिफेंस एकेडमी) से 1981 में सोर्ड ऑफ ऑनर के साथ पास आउट होनेवाले साठे एक तेज-तर्रार अधिकारी थे। वहीं इस विमान के दूसरे पायलट अखिलेश कुमार की भी हादसे में मौत हो गई। इस हादसे में जिंदा बचे अधिकांश यात्रियों ने दोनों पायलटों की भूमिका की काफी तारीफ की जिन्होंने यात्रियों की जान बचाने के लिए अपने जीवन का बलिदान दिया।

यह विमान हादसा आज से 10 साल पहले मई 2010 में मैंगलोर एयरपोर्ट के टेबलटॉप रनवे पर हुए विमान हादसे के जैसा ही था। इस हादसे में भी विमान ओवरशूट होकर खाई में जा गिरा था और 158 लोगों की मौत हो गई थी। इस तरह के हादसों से बचने, इन्हें रोकने और उपाय सुझाने के लिए नागरिक उड्डयन महानिदेशक (DGCA) ने एक सुरक्षा सलाहकार समिति (कमिटी) का गठन किया था।

इस कमिटी ने तब खराब मौसम के दौरान टेबलटॉप रनवे पर असुरक्षित लैंडिंग को लेकर वॉर्निंग दी थी। रनवे के कई हिस्सों में दरारें और पानी जमा होने के अलावा रनवे पर ‘रबर के अत्यधिक जमा’ होने की समस्याएं भी थीं। सुरक्षा विशेषज्ञों का कहना है कि मैंगलोर एयरक्रैश के बाद गठित कमिटी की वॉर्निंग्स की अनदेखी की गई।

हालांकि, एयरपोर्ट अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया (AAI) के चेयरमैन ने शनिवार को कहा कि DGCA के पास 2015 में टेबलटॉप रनवे को लेकर कुछ समस्याएं थीं लेकिन इनका हल करने के बाद पिछले साल टेबलटॉप रनवे को मंजूरी दी गई थी। AAI प्रमुख अरविंद सिंह ने कहा कि पायलटों ने पहले रनवे पर उतरने की कोशिश की लेकिन पहली लैंडिंग असफल होने के बाद उन्होंने दूसरे रनवे पर उतरने की कोशिश की जहां विमान हादसे का शिकार हो गया।

विमान का डिजिटल फ्लाइट डेटा रिकॉर्डर और कॉकपिट वॉयस रिकॉर्डर मिल गया है और एयरक्राफ्ट एक्सीडेंट इन्वेंस्टीगेशन ब्यूरो (AAIB) ने इसकी जांच शुरू कर दी है। नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्री (सिविल एविएशन मिनिस्टर) हरदीप सिंह पुरी ने शनिवार को हादसे की जगह का निरीक्षण किया। उन्होंने कैप्ठन साठे के बारे में कहा- ‘हमारे सबसे अनुभवी और प्रतिष्ठित कमांडरों में से एक थे जिन्होंने इस एयरपोर्ट के रनवे पर कम से कम 27 बार लैंड किया”। हरदीप पुरी ने कहा कि लोगों को हादसे की वजह को लेकर अटकलें लगाने से बचना चाहिए क्योंकि इस हादसे की जांच की जा रही है।

नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्री ने इस हादसे में मारे गए लोगों के परिजनों को 10 लाख रुपये, गंभीर रूप से घायलों को 2 लाख रुपये और मामूली रूप से घायल लोगों को 50 हजार रुपये के मुआवजे का ऐलान किया। केरल के मुख्यमंत्री ने भी हादसे में मारे गए लोगों के परिजनों को 10 लाख रुपये मुआवजा देने का ऐलान किया है।

इस हादसे में मारे गए लोगों में से ज्यादातर लोग केरल के मलप्पुरम, पलक्कड़ और कोझीकोड जिलों के थे, जो संयुक्त अरब अमीरात (UAE) में रहते थे। केरल के राज्यपाल आरिफ मोहम्मद खान ने शुक्रवार रात इंडिया टीवी पर लाइव इंटरव्यू में राहत और बचाव के काम में मदद के लिए कोझिकोड के स्थानीय नागरिकों की तारीफ की। इस हादसे में गंभीर रूप से घायल यात्रियों में ज्यादातर लोगों की रीढ़ की हड्डी में चोट है।

दुःख की इस घड़ी में हम हादसे के कारणों पर बेकार की अटकलों से बचें और घायलों के जल्द स्वस्थ होने की कामना करें। मेरे पूरी संवेदना उन लोगों के परिवारों के साथ है, जिनकी इस हादसे में मौत हुई है।

The people of India mourn the tragic crash landing of Air India Express Boeing-737 plane at Calicut International Airport on Friday evening resulting in the death of more than a score of people, including the two brave pilots.

The plane, which was carrying 191 people of board, from Dubai, overshot the tabletop runway, broke into two pieces and fell 35 feet down a slope. Fortunately, the plane did not catch fire because of torrential rain, and the lives of most of the passengers were saved. The pilots tried twice to make a safe landing on the runway in heavy rain, but at the third attempt, it overshot the runway resulting in the mishap.

Most of the passengers were non-resident Keralites who were returning home as part of the ‘Vande Bharat’ repatriation mission due to COVID pandemic. According to experts, the aircraft was high on approach probably due to strong tailwinds, it landed beyond the touchpoint and overshot the tabletop runway.

The scale of the tragedy was lessened due to marathon efforts by local volunteers who rushed to the site in their vehicles, and started ferrying the injured people to hospitals. Local people, airport staff, firefighters, ambulance workers andsecurity personnel joined hands in carrying out rescue operations.

The saddest part of the tragedy was the death of both the pilots. Captain Deepak Vasant Sathe was a wing commander in the Indian Air Force from where he retired and joined Air India 10 years ago. A brilliant officer from National Defence Academy, Sathe passed out with a Sword of Honour in 1981. The other pilot Akhilesh Kumar also lost his life. Most of the survivors have praised the role of the two pilots who sacrificed their lives in order to save most of the passengers.

The air tragedy was similar to the air crash that took place on a tabletop runway in Mangalore airport ten years ago, in May 2010, in which 158 people died. A safety advisory committee was then formed after the air crash by the Director General of Civil Aviation to suggest ways and means to avoid such disasters.

The committee had then warned about unsafe landing conditions on tabletop runways in India during adverse weather conditions. There had been issues relating to “excessive deposits of rubber” on the runway, apart from finding cracks and stagnating water in several parts. Safety experts say, the committee’s warnings were ignored after the Mangalore air crash.

However, the Airports Authority of India chairman said on Saturday that the DGCA had some issues with the tabletop runway in 2015, but after resolving those issues, clearances were given last year. The AAI chief Arvind Singh said, that the pilots first tried to land on the runway where the aircraft was supposed to land, but after failing, they tried to land on another runway, where it crashed.

The Digital Flight Data Recorder and Cockpit Voice Recorder of the ill-fated aircraft have been recovered and Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau has started its probe. Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri inspected the air crash site on Saturday. He described Captain Sathe as “one of our most experienced and distinguished commanders who landed on this airport runway at least 27 times in the past”. The minister said people must avoid speculating on the reasons of the crash as the cause of the air crash is being probed.

The Civil Aviation Minister announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of those killed, Rs 2 lakh to those seriously injured and Rs 50,000 who have suffered minor injuries. The Kerala chief minister has also announced Rs 10 lakh assistance to the families of those killed.

Most of those killed in the crash were residents of Malappuram, Palakkad and Kozhikode districts of Kerala, who lived in the UAE. Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, in live interview on India TV on Friday night, praised the citizens of Kozhikode for rising to the occasion by reaching the crash site in their vehicles and helped in transporting the injured passengers to hospitals. Most of the seriously injured passengers have spinal injuries.

In this hour of grief, let us avoid making baseless speculations on the causes behind the crash and pray for early recovery of those injured. My thoughts are with the families of those who died in the air crash.

दक्षिण कश्मीर के कुलगाम जिले में गुरुवार तड़के आतंकवादियों ने एक बीजेपी सरपंच सज्जाद अहमद खांडे की हत्या कर दी। काजीगुंड ब्लॉक में उनका घर राष्ट्रीय राइफल्स के कैंप के करीब ही था। आतंकियों ने उन्हें बाहर बुलाया और गोली मारकर मौत के घाट उतार दिया। घाटी में बीजेपी के सरपंचों के खिलाफ 48 घंटों के भीतर यह दूसरी आतंकी वारदात थी। इस दौरान एक अन्य बीजेपी सरपंच आदिल अहमद को गोली मारी गई जिसमें वह गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गए। जम्मू और कश्मीर पुलिस ने बीजेपी के स्थानीय नेताओं को जैश और लश्कर के आतंकवादियों से बचाने के लिए पहलगाम और काजीगुंड के सुरक्षित मकानों में ट्रांसफर करना शुरू कर दिया है।

साफ है कि पिछले साल 5 अगस्त को हुए अनुच्छेद 370 के खात्मे के बाद केंद्र के एक साल के शासन दौरान स्थानीय कश्मीरियों में तेजी से घटते समर्थन के कारण घाटी के आतंकवादी अब हताश हो गए हैं। सीमा पार बैठे आतंकियों और उनके मास्टरमाइंड्स ने पिछले साल हुई केंद्र की इस कार्रवाई के खिलाफ भारी जनाक्रोश की उम्मीद की थी, लेकिन ऐसा नहीं हुआ। इसके ठीक उलट केंद्र ने यहां कई विकास योजनाएं शुरू की हैं और जनता द्वारा चुने गए स्थानीय सरपंचों को ये योजनाएं उनके गांवों में लागू करने की शक्तियां दी हैं। इन योजनाओं के परिणामस्वरूप आम कश्मीरियों का जीवन बेहतर होने लगा है। कश्मीरी नौजवानों ने टेरर ग्रुप्स को जॉइन करना बंद कर दिया है और इस ट्रेंड ने पाकिस्तान में बैठे आतंक के आकाओं को बेचैन कर दिया है।

गुरुवार को अपने प्राइम टाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में मैंने दिखाया कि कैसे स्थानीय कश्मीरी विकास के समर्थन में बोल रहे थे। मैंने अपने 2 संवाददाताओं को दक्षिणी और उत्तरी कश्मीर के सुदूर गांवों में लोगों का मूड भांपने के लिए भेजा था। अधिकांश लोगों ने इंडिया टीवी के संवाददाताओं से कहा कि उन्होंने सपने में भी नहीं सोचा था कि विकास का फल इतनी आसानी से उनके गांवों तक पहुंच जाएगा। मुझे याद है कि पिछले साल जब अनुच्छेद 370 को निरस्त किया गया था तब भी हमने अपने संवाददाताओं को भेजा था। उस समय आम कश्मीरियों की बातों से साफतौर पर संदेह झलक रहा था। कश्मीरियों ने उस समय कहा था, ‘हमने कई पार्टियों को आते-जाते देखा है, लेकिन कुछ भी नहीं हुआ’।

यह ट्रेंड अब बदल गया है। कश्मीरी अब आम लोगों से जुड़े विकास, शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य और अन्य मुद्दों पर बात कर रहे हैं। पिछले एक साल में 20,000 से भी ज्यादा छोटी-बड़ी विकास परियोजनाएं पूरी हुईं, नियंत्रण रेखा के पास स्थित गांवों में बिजली पहुंचाई गई, 1.3 करोड़ कश्मीरियों को आयुष्मान योजना का फायदा मिला है, स्कूली बच्चों की छात्रवृत्ति में 262 प्रतिशत की बढ़ोतरी हुई, और लगभग 4 लाख डोमिसाइल सर्टिफिकेट जारी किए गए थे। राज्य प्रशासन ने अपनी उपलब्धियों की लंबी-चौड़ी लिस्ट तैयार की है, लेकिन हमने एक आम कश्मीरी की आवाज सुनने का फैसला किया।

घाटी में पिछले साल पंचायत चुनाव कराए गए थे और पंच एवं सरपंचों से यह सुनकर अच्छा लगा कि किस तरह विकास का फल अब उनके गांवों तक पहुंच गया है। केवल एक साल पहले यही लोग कैमरे पर बोलने से डरते थे, लेकिन इस बार वे खुलकर बोले। इंडिया टीवी ने जिन कश्मीरियों से बात की उनमें से अधिकांश ने कहा कि विकास के फायदे अब आम आदमी तक पहुंच रहे हैं। अनंतनाग, पुलवामा और शोपियां जैसी जगहों पर, जो आतंकवाद के गढ़ के रूप में कुख्यात हैं, आम लोग बाहर आए और अपनी बात कही। एक अधिकारी ने कहा कि आतंकी संगठनों को जॉइन करने वाले युवाओं की संख्या में लगभग 40 पर्सेंट की गिरावट आई है। आम कश्मीरी नौजवानों ने ‘गन कल्चर’ को छोड़ दिया है और अब अपने करियर पर फोकस कर रहे हैं। युवा कश्मीरी लड़कियां कंप्यूटर एजुकेशन सीख रही हैं और आईटी प्रोफेशनल बनना चाहती हैं।

घाटी में सुरक्षा बलों समेत सभी सरकारी एजेंसियां पूरे कोऑर्डिनेशन में काम कर रही हैं और ग्राउंड पर इसके नतीजे भी दिख रहे हैं। सरकारी अधिकारी, जो पहले शायद ही कभी सुदूर ग्रामीण इलाकों का दौरा करते थे, अब स्थानीय पंचायतों की मदद के लिए ज्यादा समय देने लगे हैं। लगभग हर गांव में स्थानीय लोगों की शिकायतों पर काम करने के लिए ग्राम पंचायत अब नोडल पॉइंट बन गई है।

एक साल पहले यहां के लोगों में सुरक्षा की भावना का पूर्ण अभाव था। सेना, जम्मू एवं कश्मीर पुलिस और सीआरपीएफ करीबी समन्वय में काम कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने आम लोगों से वादा किया है कि यदि आतंकवादी उनके घरों में घुसते हैं, तो सुरक्षा बल पहले गांववालों की रक्षा करने की कोशिश करेंगे, और फिर आतंकवादियों को निशाना बनाएंगे। कुलगाम के लकड़ीपोरा गांव में 20 जून को 2 आतंकवादियों ने एक घर में घुसकर हमला किया था। स्थानीय ग्रामीणों को डर था कि सुरक्षा बल पूरे घर को उड़ा देंगे जिसमें घरवालों की जान भी चली जाएगी, लेकिन जवानों ने बेहद शानदार काम किया। उन्होंने पहले परिवार के सदस्यों को बाहर आने के लिए कहा, उन्हें सुरक्षा दी और फिर दोनों आतंकवादियों को खत्म कर दिया। घर को कोई नुकसान नहीं हुआ। परिवार के सदस्य अब सुरक्षा बलों की तारीफ कर रहे हैं।

कश्मीर घाटी के अंदरूनी इलाकों में दूर-दूर के गांवों का दौरा करना और फिर स्थानीय लोगों से बात करना हमारे पत्रकारों मनीष प्रसाद और अमित पालित के लिए आसान काम नहीं था। उन्होंने जोखिम उठाया, गांवों में गए और आम लोगों से बात की। पिछले साल 5 अगस्त के बाद, जब अनुच्छेद 370 को समाप्त कर दिया गया था, हमने अपने संवाददाताओं को गांवों में भेजा था। उस समय लोगों के मन में डर था, और उनमें से ज्यादातर ने तब कैमरे पर कहा था कि वे इस बात के लिए इंतजार करेंगे कि सरकार अपने वादों को पूरा करती है या नहीं। एक साल पहले आम कश्मीरियों को शायद ही कोई उम्मीद थी कि गांव की सड़कें बनेंगी, अस्पताल और स्कूल फिर से खुलेंगे और बिजली की सप्लाई दी जाएगी। अब, एक साल के बाद आम लोगों ने यह कहना शुरू कर दिया है कि विकास के काम वाकई में शुरू हो गए हैं, चीजों में सुधार हो रहा है, लेकिन बहुत कुछ किया जाना अभी बाकी है।

आम कश्मीरियों को भी इस बात का एहसास है कि कोरोना वायरस महामारी के कारण काम की रफ्तार में कमी आई है, लेकिन विकास के पहिये निश्चित रूप से आगे की तरफ बढ़ने लगे हैं। जम्मू-श्रीनगर रेलवे लाइन पर काम शुरू हो गया है और कई अन्य इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर प्रॉजेक्ट्स पर काम हो रहा है।

अब जबकि केंद्र ने जम्मू-कश्मीर के नए उपराज्यपाल के तौर पर मनोज सिन्हा जैसे अनुभवी नेता को नियुक्त किया है, तो उम्मीद की जा रही है कि राजनीतिक प्रक्रियाएं भी शुरू होंगी। मनोज सिन्हा पूर्वी यूपी के गाजीपुर के रहने वाले हैं। वह एक अनुभवी राजनेता हैं और कई चुनाव जीत चुके हैं। उन्होंने केंद्र में दूरसंचार और रेलवे मिनिस्ट्री में भी काम किया है। सिन्हा के उपराज्यपाल के रूप में कार्यभार संभालने के साथ ही हमें जम्मू-कश्मीर में जल्द चुनाव की उम्मीद करनी चाहिए। हमें आशा है कि एक निर्वाचित सरकार निकट भविष्य में कार्यभार संभालेगी और लोगों की आकांक्षाओं को पूरा करेगी।
