Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched another blistering attack on Congress in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday and alleged that the “very thought process of Congress has now become destructive. This has become an issue of national concern as urban Naxals are trying to exploit the poor condition of Congress to hijack the party’s line of thinking.”

In plain words, Modi wanted to convey that the present Congress leadership is now “in the grip of urban Naxals”. Modi was reacting to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks in Lok Sabha in which he had said that the Constitution nowhere mentioned India as a nation, it only mentioned India as “a union of states”. “Naxals”, Modi said, “have hijacked the Congress party’s mindset. It is this which has led Congress leaders to level baseless allegations about rewriting of history by the present government”.

In fact, Modi replied to every allegations levelled by Congress and other opposition leaders during the debate on Motion of Thanks to the President for his opening speech to Parliament. Modi enumerated the work done by his government, but when he started speaking on dynastic politics, it rattled most of the Congress MPs present inside the House. Modi described how the Congress devoted most of its political time in the service of one dynasty (Gandhi-Nehru). “To protect a dynasty, Congress imposed Emergency in 1975. The massacre of Sikhs in the aftermath of Indira Gandhi’s assassination in 1984 and the huge exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley took place because of the Congress.

Modi attacked all the four generations of Nehru-Gandhi dynasty beginning with India’s first prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, followed by Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and now, Rahul Gandhi. He reminded Congress members of how Mahatma Gandhi, soon after independence, had advised that the Congress party should be dissolved.

“I am thinking what could have happened had the Congress not been there. Because it was Mahata Gandhi’s wish. Mahatma Gandhi knew what would have happened if the Congress continued. It was because of this that he said, Congress should be wound up. Had there been no Congress, in deference to the wishes of Mahatma Gandhi, what would have happened? Our democracy would have remained free from dynastic politics, India would have marched forward on Swadeshi instead of putting on “foreign spectacles”.”

“ Had there been no Congress, there would not have been the darkest spot of Emergency. Had there been no Congress, corruption would not have been institutionalized since decades. Had there been no Congress, the divides of casteism and regionalism would not have deepened. Had there been no Congress, there would have been no massacre of Sikhs and Punjab would not have burnt in the fire of terrorism for years. Had there been no Congress, Kashmiri Pandits would not have left the Valley. Had there been no Congress, daughters would not have been burnt in ‘tandoor’. Had there been no Congress, the common man would not have been forced to wait for houses, electricity, water, roads, toilets and other basic facilities for years.”

Replying to Congress leaders alleging that the present government was trying to rewrite history, Modi replied: “In this House, it was alleged that we are trying to change history. I find that the Congress has been caught in a vice like grip of Urban Naxals, who have practically taken over their very thought process. That is why, their thinking and activities have now become destructive. This is a matter of concern for all of us. We will have to think seriously. The Urban Naxals have cleverly exploited the poor state of Congress and have occupied their thought process. That is why, they are saying that history is being rewritten. We want to correct the memory of some people.’

“ We want to increase their memory power. We are not changing history. For some people, history began a few years ago. They feel fine in their 50-year-long history. Some take it back to 100 years, and feel fine. We are taking it 200 years back, some take it to 300 years back. Now, if you take history back to 300 and 350 years, the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji will surely crop up. We are sharpening their memory, we are not changing history. For some people, history is confined to only one family, but our history is vast. There are many dimensions, ups and downs, and we are trying to delve into history over a long-term period. To forget our glorious history will not be good for our country’s future. We realize our duty, and taking lessons from history, we are aiming at creating confidence among people to take our country to new heights over the next 25 years. I think this ‘amrit kaal-khand’ (period of next 25 years from now) will move on this note.”

Modi did not spare even Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru for his role during the Liberation of Goa. Modi said: “Goa was liberated 60 years ago. Had Nehru followed Sardar Patel’s initiative by annexing Hyderabad and Junagadh to India, the people of Goa would not have remained under Portuguese occupation for 15 more years. Goa was liberated 15 years after India attained independence. Newspaper reports 60 years ago clearly show that, at that time, Pandit Nehru was worried about his international image if the Indian army attacked Goa. This was Nehru’s point of concern. He thought if the colonial government in Goa was attacked, his own image as a peace-loving leader on a global level would be broken to pieces. Nehru thought, let the people of Goa suffer, my image must not suffer. That is why the Portuguese police was firing bullets at our satyagrahis who were Indians. And our Prime Minister saying, I will not order my army to move to Goa. Nehru clearly refused to help the satyagrahis. This was the atrocity committed by Congress on the people of Goa. Goa had to suffer for 15 more years of foreign rule, and many sons of Goa had to give their supreme sacrifice. People had to live under the shadow of lathis and bullets.”

With no-holds-barred attacks from Prime Minister Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should not have any excuse to object. In most of his speeches, tweets and press conference, Rahul launches attacks on Modi, and the Prime Minister gave back to him in a sharp manner, in both House of Parliament. Even on Tuesday, after Modi’s reply, Rahul Gandhi reacted by saying that “Modi fears us. He did not reply to the points I raised”. Since last eight years, Rahul had been using catch phrases like ‘suit-boot ki sarkar’, ‘Adani Ambani ki sarkar’, against Modi government. Sometimes Rahul says, Modi has destroyed this country, Modi fears China, Modi is a dictator. There are umpteen such examples when Rahul Gandhi used harsh words against the PM. So, if Modi attacked Rahul and his party on the issue of dynasty, on imposition of emergency, on Sikh massacre, and on exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, what mistake did he commit? Was Modi committed political error in reminding the Congress, how over several decades, it dismissed the governments of Namboodiripad, Karunanidhi, MGR, N T Ramarao, Charan Singh, Devi Lal and others?

Rahul had been complaining that Modi is only working to benefit his industrialist friends. If the Prime Minister replies by saying how farmers are getting more minimum support prices directly into their bank accounts, if farmers are getting direct money transfer from the Centre, not a single person died of starvation during the pandemic, more than 80 crore Indians got free rations from the Centre, nearly 100 per cent Indian adults have already taken their first dose of Covid vaccine, nearly 80 per cent Indian adults have taken both doses of Covid vaccines, lakhs of poor Indians have now got their own houses, five crore Indians have now started getting drinking water from taps, what wrong did Modi commit?

Those who level allegations must have the courage and patience to listen to replies. Democracy is not a one-way traffic.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने सोमवार और मंगलवार को लोकसभा और राज्यसभा दोनों में कांग्रेस पार्टी पर जमकर वार किए और देश के इस सबसे पुराने राजनीतिक दल पर अलगावावाद के बीज बोने और वंशवाद की राजनीति करने का आरोप लगाया। मोदी ने राज्य सभा में कहा-‘अगर कांग्रेस न होती तो सिखों का नरसंहार न हुआ होता, कश्मीरी पंडितों का पलायन न हुआ होता, देश में इमरजेंसी नहीं लगाई गई होती और बेटियों को तंदूर में न जलाया गया होता।’

इसके साथ ही मोदी ने यह याद दिलाया कि कैसे आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री टी. अंजैया को इसलिए बर्खास्त कर दिया गया था क्योंकि प्रधानमंत्री के बेटे को हवाई अड्डे पर उनके स्वागत के इंतजाम पसंद नहीं आए थे। उन्होंने यह भी याद दिलाया कि कैसे कर्नाटक के मुख्यमंत्री वीरेंद्र पाटिल को बीमार पड़ने के बावजूद बर्खास्त कर दिया गया था। प्रधानमंत्री ने गांधी परिवार पर हमला करते हुए कहा- ‘कुछ लोगों का मानना है कि भारत का जन्म 1947 में हुआ था। उनका मानना है कि केवल एक परिवार ही इस देश पर शासन कर सकता है। अब तो कई राजनीतिक दलों में वंशवाद की राजनीति है। मैं सभी दलों से अपील करता हूं कि वे अपनी पार्टी के अंदर लोकतंत्र लाएं और वंशवाद की राजनीति से दूर रहें।’

लोकसभा में मोदी ने कांग्रेस पर ‘फूट डालो और राज करो’ की ब्रिटिश नीति अपनाने का आरोप लगाया और कहा, ‘तोड़ो और राज करो’ की नीति कांग्रेस ने अंग्रेजों से सीखी और उस पर आज तक चल रही है।’ इसके साथ ही उन्होंने कहा-‘यह अब टुकड़े-टुकड़े गैंग की लीडर बन गई है’। उन्होंने कांग्रेस पर अलगाववाद के बीज बोने का आरोप लगाया। मोदी ने राहुल गांधी का नाम एक बार भी नहीं लिया लेकिन उनका इशारा राहुल गांधी की तरफ ही था। राहुल गांधी ने कहा था कि भारत राज्यों का एक संघ है, राष्ट्र नहीं। राहुल गांधी ने अपने भाषण में आरोप लगाया था कि केंद्र तमिलनाडु और केरल जैसे दक्षिणी राज्यों की अनदेखी कर रहा है।

मोदी ने कहा-‘जब हमारे सीडीएस जनरल बिपिन रावत का दक्षिण भारत में एक हेलिकॉप्‍टर हादसे में अकस्‍मात निधन हुआ और उनका पार्थिव शऱीर तमिलनाडु में हवाई अड्डे की तरफ ले जाने के लिए रास्‍ते से गुजर रहा था, तब मेरे तमिल भाई, तमिल बहनें लाखों की संख्‍या में रोड पर घंटों तक कतार में खड़े रहे थे। जब सीडीएस रावत का पार्थिव शरीर वहां से गुजर रहा था तब हर तमिलवासी गौरव के साथ हाथ ऊपर करके, आंख में आंसू के साथ कह रहा था- ‘वीर मणक्‍कम, वीर मणक्‍कम’। ये मेरा देश है। लेकिन कांग्रेस को हमेशा से इन बातों से नफरत रही है। विभाजनकारी मानसिकता उनके डीएनए में घुस गई है। अंग्रेज चले गए लेकिन ‘बांटो और राज करो’ की नीति को कांग्रेस ने अपना चरित्र बना लिया है। और इसलिए ही आज कांग्रेस ‘टुकड़े-टुकड़े’ गैंग की लीडर बन गई है।

प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने भारत के राष्ट्र होने पर सवाल उठाये जाने को लेकर आपत्ति जताई। दरअसल राहुल गांधी ने यह दावा किया था कि संविधान में कहीं भी भारत की व्याख्या एक राष्ट्र के तौर पर नहीं की गई है। इसे राज्यों का संघ बताय गया है। मोदी ने राज्यसभा में डॉ. भीम राव अंबेडकर के भाषण के अंश को पढ़ा और यह बताया कि प्रशासनिक उद्देश्यों के लिए भले ही भारत को राज्यों में बांटा गया है लेकिन वास्तव में भारत एक देश है, एक राष्ट्र है। लोकसभा में मोदी ने ‘विष्णु पुराण’ और जवाहरलाल नेहरू की पुस्तक ‘डिस्कवरी ऑफ इंडिया’ का जिक्र किया और यह बताया कि एक राष्ट्र के तौर पर भारत का विचार हमारे संविधान का मसौदा तैयार होने से सदियों पहले मौजूद था। राज्यसभा में मोदी ने पूछा कि कांग्रेस का नाम ‘इंडियन नेशनल कांग्रेस’ क्यों रखा गया है? उन्होंने कहा-‘अगर भारत एक राष्ट्र नहीं है तो कांग्रेस को अपने नाम से राष्ट्रीय शब्द हटा लेना चाहिए और अपने पूर्वजों की गलती को ठीक कर लेना चाहिए। ‘

लोकसभा में मोदी ने कहा, ‘आपका (कांग्रेस का) गेम प्‍लान कोई भी हो, ऐसे बहुत लोग आए और चले गए। लाखों कोशिशें की गईं, अपने स्‍वार्थवश की गईं। लेकिन यह देश अजर-अमर है, इस देश को कुछ नहीं हो सकता। इस प्रकार की कोशिश करने वालों को हमेशा कुछ-न-कुछ गंवाना पड़ा है। यह देश एक था, श्रेष्ठ था, यह देश एक है, श्रेष्‍ठ है और यह देश श्रेष्‍ठ रहेगा, इसी विश्‍वास के साथ हम आगे बढ़ रहे हैं।

प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा, ऐसा लगता है कि कांग्रेस ने अगले 100 साल तक सत्ता में नहीं लौटने का मन बना लिया है। उन्होंने याद दिलाया कि कैसे पिछले 15 से 30 साल में चुनाव में हार के बाद कांग्रेस ने कई राज्यों को खो दिया। उन्होंने कहा-‘नागालैंड के लोगों ने आखिरी बार 1998 में कांग्रेस के लिए वोट किया था, करीब 24 साल हो गए। ओडिशा ने 1955 में आपके लिए वोट किया था, 27 साल हो गए आपको वहां एंट्री नही मिली। गोवा में 1994 में पूर्ण बहुमत के साथ आप जीते थे, 28 साल हो गए लेकिन गोवा ने आपको स्‍वीकार नहीं किया। पिछली बार 1988 में त्रिपुरा की जनता ने वोट दिया था, करीब 34 साल बीत चुके हैं। यूपी, बिहार और गुजरात में आखिरी बार 1985 में, करीब 37 साल पहले जनता ने आपके लिए वोट किया था। पश्चिम बंगाल में लोगों ने 1972 में करीब 50 साल पहले आपको पसंद किया था। तमिलनाडु के मतदाताओं ने आखिरी बार 1962 में कांग्रेस को वोट दिया था यानी करीब 60 साल पहले आपको मौका मिला था। तेलंगाना बनाने का श्रेय आपकी पार्टी लेती है, लेकिन तेलंगाना बनने के बाद भी वहां की जनता ने आपको स्‍वीकार नहीं किया। झारखंड का जन्म 20 साल पहले हुआ लेकिन वहां भी मतदाताओं ने पूरी तरह से आपको स्वीकार नहीं किया। पिछले दरवाजे से घुसने का प्रयास करते हैं। सवाल चुनाव नतीजों का नहीं है। सवाल उन लोगों की नीयत का है, उनकी नेकदिली का है। इतने बड़े लोकतंत्र में इतने साल तक शासन में रहने के बाद देश की जनता हमेशा-हमेशा के लिए उनको क्‍यों नकार रही है? और जहां भी ठीक से लोगों ने राह पकड़ ली, दोबारा आपको प्रवेश करने नहीं दिया है। इतना सारा होने के बावजूद भी..हम तो एक चुनाव हार जाएं ना, महीनों तक न जाने ईको-सिस्टम क्‍या-क्‍या करती है। इतना सारा पराजय होने के बावजूद न आपका अहंकार जाता है, न आपकी ईको-सिस्टम आपके अहंकार को जाने देती है।’

नरेंद्र मोदी ने उद्योगपतियों की निंदा करने के लिए कांग्रेस और विपक्ष के नेताओं पर निशाना साधा। राहुल गांधी ने दो उद्योगपतियों का नाम लिए बिना उन्हें ‘A A वैरिएंट’ बताया था। मोदी ने कहा, ‘एक तरफ हमारे युवा उद्यमी अब दुनिया भर में टॉप थ्री में हैं और उनके यूनिकॉर्न धूम मचा रहे हैं और दूसरी ओर हमारे उद्यमियों और जॉब क्रियेटर्स को बदनाम करने की प्रवृत्ति पनप रही है। उद्यमियों में डर पैदा कर उन्हें अच्छा लगता है। कांग्रेस में ऐसे लोग बैठे हैं जो हमारे उद्यमियों को कोरोना वायरस वेरिएंट बता रहे हैं। ये आप क्या कर रहे है? आप कांग्रेस पार्टी को नुकसान पहुंचा रहे हैं।’

प्रधामंत्री ने यह आरोप लगाया कि ‘कोरोना की पहली लहर के दौरान कांग्रेस ने मामूली सियासी फायदे के लिए लाखों मजदूरों को अपने राज्य लौटने के लिए उकसाया था और कोरोना का कैरियर बना दिया था। जब पूरी दुनिया लॉकडाउन का पालन कर रही थी तब मुंबई में कांग्रेस के नेता मजदूरों को डराकर मुफ्त में ट्रेनों की टिकट बांट रहे थे। इसी तरह दिल्ली में सत्ताधारी दल के लोग जीप और माइक लेकर गलियों में घूम-घूमकर लोगों से अपना सामान पैक करने और दिल्ली-बिहार रवाना होने की अपील कर रहे थे। इतना ही नहीं प्रवासी मजदूरों को बसें उपलब्ध कराई गईं और उन्हें यूपी बॉर्डर पर छोड़ दिया गया।’

संसद के दोनों सदनों में पीएम मोदी अपने पुराने रंग में दिखाई दिए। कांग्रेस और अन्य विपक्षी दलों के नेताओं को करारा जवाब दिया। तथ्य और आंकड़ों के साथ विपक्ष पर हमला किया। उन्होंने जवाब देने के लिए बार-बार पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू का नाम लिया। नरेन्द्र मोदी का ज्यादा जोर इस बात पर था कि कांग्रेस के नेता सिर्फ विरोध के लिए उनका विरोध करते हैं। ऐसे विरोध से देश का नुकसान होता है।

मोदी ने कोरोना का उदाहरण दिया और याद दिलाया कि कैसे लॉकडाउन और वैक्सीन को लेकर तमाम विरोध के बावजूद भारत के लोगों ने महामारी का डटकर मुकाबला किया। सरकार ने किसी को भूखा नहीं सोने दिया, सप्लाई चेन को टूटने नहीं दिया, अपने देश में वैक्सीन बनाई और अब तक 80 प्रतिशत जनता को दोनों डोज मिल चुकी है। मोदी ने यह भी बताया कि किसानों को खाद की कमी नहीं होने दी गई और किसानों ने भी रिकॉर्ड उत्पादन किया इसीलिए महंगाई पर काफी हद तक काबू पाया जा सका। मोदी ने ऐसे बहुत सारे उदाहरण दिए और कहा कि संकट के इस काल में उन्होंने समर्पण भाव से काम किया। लेकिन पूरे समय कांग्रेस ने उन्हीं को निशाना बनाया। उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस ने इतिहास से कोई सबक नहीं लिया।

In his stinging and no-holds barred attacks on the Congress Party in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Monday and Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Grand Old Party of sowing seeds of separatism and perpetuating dynastic politics. “Had there been no Congress, the massacre of Sikhs, the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, the proclamation of Emergency would not have happened”, he told the Upper House.

Modi recalled how the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh T. Anjaiah was sacked when the son of the Prime Minister did not like his reception arrangements at the airport. He also recalled how the chief minister of Karnataka Veerendra Patil was sacked when he was suffering from illness. The Prime Minister hit out at the Gandhi family, and said, “some people seem to believe that India took birth in 1947. They believe only one family can rule this country. Now, dynastic politics is being followed by several political parties. I would appeal to all parties to allow inner-party democracy and abstain from dynastic politics.”

In Lok Sabha, Modi accused the Grand Old Party of following the British policy of ‘Divide and Rule’ and said, “it has now become the leader of tukde-tukde gang”. He accused the party of sowing seeds of separatism by harping on the theme that ‘India is a union of states, and not a nation’. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had, in his speech, alleged that southern states like Tamil Nadu and Kerala were being ignored by the Centre.

Modi said, “I salute lakhs of people of Tamil Nadu who came to the streets to offer their last respects to Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat, when his mortal remains were being taken to airport. People were chanting slogans like “Veer Vanakkam” (Welcome, warrior). This is my country, but the Congress has been hating such things. Divisive mentality (vibhaajankari mansikta) has entered their DNA. The Britishers have left but their “divide and rule” mentality has entered the character of Congress. Congress today, has become the leader of ‘tukde-tukde’ gang.”

The Prime Minister objected to Rahul Gandhi questioning India’s status as a nation. Rahul Gandhi had claimed that nowhere in the Constitution has India been described as a nation, it has been described as a union of states. Modi, in Rajya Sabha, read out experts from Dr B R Ambedkar’s speech to say that India may have been divided into states for administrative purpose, but in reality, India is one country. In Lok Sabha, Modi referred to the Vishnu Puran and Jawaharlal Nehru’s book ‘Discovery of India’ to make the point that the idea of India as a nation had been there since centuries, much before our Constitution was drafted. In Rajya Sabha, Modi asked why the Congress is named ‘Indian National Congress’. “If India is not a nation, let the Congress remove the word ‘national’, and rename itself as a Federation of Congress”, he said.

In Lok Sabha, Modi said, “whatever may be the gameplan (of Congress), many have come and gone. There were many, many attempts to divide this nation, but our nation is immortal and perpetual. Nobody can break our nation. Those who tried it, had to lose. This country was one, was great, this country is one, is great, and this country will remain one, and will remain great”, Modi said.

The Prime Minister said, it seems that Congress has made up its mind not to return to power for the next 100 years. He reminded how Congress lost many states since the last 15 to 30 years after electoral drubbing. “In Nagaland, the voters last voted for Congress in 1998, and now 24 yeas have passed. The voters of Odisha last voted for Congress in 1995, and 27 years have passed. You secured majority in Goa in 1994, and since last 28 years, voters of Goa have not accepted you. The last Congress won in Tripura was in the year 1988, 34 years have passed. The last time UP, Bihar and Gujarat voters voted you to power was in the year 1985, since then 37 years have passed. The people of Bengal voted you to power the last time in 1972, more than 50 years have passed. The voters of Tamil Nadu voted Congress to power the last time in 1962, sixty years have passed. Your party takes the credit for creating Telangana, but the people did not accept you. Jharkhand was created 20 years ago, but the voters did not accept you. You came to power through backdoor. The question is not of election results. The issue is about your intentions, your ‘nekdili’ (good sense). You should find out why people in states are rejecting you since decades and are not allowing your party to come to power. If we lose one election, we think about if for months. But in your case, your ego comes in the way, and your party eco-system does not allow you to dispense with your ego.”

Modi hit out at the Congress and opposition leaders for denouncing entrepreneurs. It was Rahul Gandhi who described two top industrialists, without naming them, as “AA variant”. Modi said, “on one hand, our young entrepreneurs are now in Top Three across the world, and their unicorns are making a splash, and on the other hand, there is the tendency to denigrate our entrepreneurs and job creators. They feel nice by striking fear in the hearts of entrepreneurs. There are people sitting in Congress who are describing our entrepreneurs as Corona virus variants. What are you doing? You are harming the Congress party”

The Prime Minister also alleged that “it was the Congress which, instead of appealing to people to remain indoors, egged on poor people living in Mumbai to go to railway stations and take the trains to their home states. They even bought tickets for them. Similarly, in Delhi, the party in power, took out jeeps, fitted with mikes, appealing to poor people to pack up their belongings and leave for UP and Bihar. They even provided buses and dropped them at the UP border.”

Prime Minister Modi’s speeches in both houses of Parliament remind us of his old image when he used to tear his rivals to bits, by placing facts and figures, embellished with stinging remarks. He quoted Jawaharlal Nehru several times in his speech. Modi wanted to convey this message that the Congress is indulging in blind opposition to anything that the Prime Minister does.

By referring to how the Congress leaders behaved during Covid pandemic, Modi described how despite strong opposition to lockdowns and vaccines, the nation came out with flying colours by tackling the pandemic. “We did not allow any one to starve. We did not allow our supply chains to break. Today 80 per cent Indians have taken both their vaccine doses. We focused on MSMEs and agriculture, and did not allow our farmers to lose during the pandemic”, Modi said. The Congress is yet to learn from its past and present mistakes.

पंजाब में कांग्रेस अभी तक यह तय नहीं कर पाई है कि विधानसभा चुनाव में मुख्यमंत्री पद के लिए उसका उम्मीदवार कौन होगा। राज्य में 20 फरवरी को मतदान होने में मुश्किल से दो हफ्ते बचे हैं और अभी तक इस बारे में कुछ भी साफ नहीं है कि पार्टी अपना सीएम कैंडिडेट किसे बनाएगी। मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक, कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी रविवार को लुधियाना में एक वर्चुअल रैली को संबोधित करते हुए सीएम कैंडिडेट के नाम की घोषणा कर सकते हैं।

पार्टी फोन कॉल के जरिए से टेली-सर्वेक्षण कर रही है कि किसे सीएम कैंडिडेट बनाया जाए। आम आदमी पार्टी ने भी ठीक ऐसे ही टेली-सर्वे के बाद मुख्यमंत्री पद के लिए भगवंत मान के नाम की घोषणा की थी। मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक, इस बात की काफी चर्चा है कि वर्तमान मुख्यमंत्री चरणजीत सिंह चन्नी प्रदेश कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष एवं एक मजबूत दावेदार नवजोत सिंह सिद्धू से बहुत बड़े अंतर से आगे चल रहे हैं।

सिद्धू, जो कि माता वैष्णो देवी मंदिर में देवी का आशीर्वाद लेने गए थे, परेशान नजर आ रहे हैं। शुक्रवार को उनके एक बयान से उनकी परेशानी जगजाहिर भी हो गई। सिद्धू ने अपने समर्थकों से कहा, ‘मुझे आपसे एक ही बात कहनी है। नया पंजाब बनाना सीएम के हाथ में है। जैसा मुख्यमंत्री होता है, वैसा ही सूबा होता है। पिछले 2 मुख्यमंत्रियों ने बेड़ागर्क कर दिया। 25-30 साल में पंजाब को बर्बाद कर दिया। इस बार मुख्यंत्री आपको चुनना है। सीएम ईमानदार होगा तो ईमानदारी नीचे तक जाएगी। ऊपर चोर बिठा दिया तो फिर सब गया। आप मेरी ये बात याद रखना। ऊपर वाले चाहते हैं कमजोर सीएम, जिसे वे अपनी धुन पर नचा सकें, ता था थैया करा सकें। उनसे कहें, नाच मेरी बुलबुल तुझे पैसा मिलेगा, कहां कदरदान हमारे जैसा मिलेगा। ये ऐसा मुख्यमंत्री चाहते हैं।’

अपने इस बयान पर हंगामा मचने के बाद सिद्धू एक बार फिर कैमरे के सामने आए और सफाई दी। उन्होंने कहा, ‘पिछले 25 साल जो भी यहां सीएम रहे, वे केंद्र सरकार की धुन पर नाचते रहे, भले ही उन्हें धुन पसंद न हो। उनकी धुन पर कठपुतलियों की तरह नाचते रहे हैं और यही वो चाहते हैं। ये झूठ है, मैं रूठा हुआ नहीं था। चन्नी मेरा छोटा भाई है, मैं उससे कभी नहीं रूठा।’

सिद्धू के मीडिया सलाहकारों ने भी सफाई दी कि ‘ऊपर वाला’ कहने से उनका मतलब कांग्रेस आलाकमान से नहीं बल्कि केंद्र से था, जो एक कमजोर सीएम चाहता है।

सिद्धू पहले कई बार कह चुके हैं कि वह राजनीति में ‘शोपीस’ बनने नहीं आए। इसका मतलब है कि वह पंजाब में मुख्यमंत्री बनने आए हैं। उन्होंने यह भी कहा है कि अगर उन्हें दर्शनी घोड़ा बनाया गया तो ठीक नहीं होगा। मतलब, वह बगावत कर देंगे, संन्यासी बन जाएंगे, सियासत छोड़ देंगे।

सिद्धू की पत्नी नवजोत कौर ने 2 दिन पहले ही कह दिया था, ‘अगर हाई पोस्ट नहीं मिली तो राजनीति में रहने का क्या फायदा?’ यानी मुख्यमंत्री नहीं बनाया गया तो सब बेकार हैं। नवजोत कौर ने यह भी कहा कि सिद्धू पहले हर घंटे 25 लाख रुपये कमाते थे, वह भी हर महीने 5 लाख रुपये कमा लेती हैं। दोनों के पास पैसे की कोई कमी नहीं है, लेकिन अगर सिद्धू को हाई पोस्ट नहीं मिली, तो, दूसरे शब्दों में वह बगावत की तरफ इशारा कर रही थीं।

The Congress in Punjab is yet to decide who will be its chief ministerial candidate in the assembly elections. Hardly two weeks are left for the state to go to the polls on February 20 and yet there is no clarity about who will be the CM candidate. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is likely to announce the name of CM candidate on Sunday when he will address a virtual rally for Ludhiana, according to media reports.

The party has been doing a tele-survey via phone calls on who should become the CM candidate, similarly on the lines of Aam Aadmi Party, when it announced the name of Bhagwant Mann as its candidate for chief ministership after a tele-survey. According to media reports, there is a strong buzz about present chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi leading by a wide margin over PCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is also a strong contender.

Sidhu, who had gone to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine to seek the goddess’s blessings, seems to be worried. On Friday, he made a cryptic remark. Sidhu told his supporters, “I want to tell you one thing. The aim of ushering in a New Punjab lies in the hands of Chief Minister. Jaisa mukhyamantri hoga, waisa hi yeh state hoga. In the last 25-30 years, there were two chief minister who did the ‘bedaa-gark’ (destroyed the state). This time, elect a CM, whose honesty will percolate deeper to the lowest level. If you put a thief on top, truth will vanish. Remember my words. “Ooper wala (those at the top) want a weak chief minister, who can do ‘ta thaiya, ta thaiya’ for them (dance to their tune). Naach meri bulbul, tujhe paisa milega, kahaan kadar daan hamare jaisa milega. They want this type of CM”. He was speaking at a public function in Amritsar. Soon after he made this remark, his supporters shouted slogan “Hamara CM Kaisa Ho, Navjot Sidhu Jaisa Ho”. This remark soon triggered a row. It was perceived to be against the party high command.

As this remark caused a furore, Sidhu had to appear again before cameras and clarify. He said “For the last 25 years, there were chief ministers in Punjab who danced to the tune of the Centre, even when they did not like the tune. They danced like puppets on a string. ..It is a lie to say that I am unhappy with the CM. Channi is my younger brother. I was never angry with him.”

Sidhu’s media advisers clarified that by saying “Ooper wala”, he did not mean the Congress high command, but the Centre which wants a weak CM.

Sidhu is on record of having said several times in the past that he has not entered politics, to become a ‘showpiece’. In other words, he is hinting that, his ambition is to become the chief minister of Punjab. He has also said, “if I am made a darshani ghoda (decorative horse), it will not be good”.. In other words, he is threatening to revolt, he will become a sanyasi and leave politics.

Sidhu’s wife Navjot Kaur had said two days ago, “what is the use of being in politics, if one does not get a high post?” In other words, there is no use staying in politics, if one does not become the CM. Navjot Kaur also said, her husband used to earn Rs 25 lakh per hour, and she herself used to earn Rs 5 lakh a month. Both of them have no dearth of money, but if Sidhu does not get a high post, then, in other words, she was hinting at a revolt.

चुनाव में जुबानी जंग और तीखी तकरार तो हो रही है लेकिन इस सियासी संग्राम में बोली की जगह गोली चलेगी यह नहीं सोचा था, लेकिन गुरुवार को ऐसा ही हुआ। एक बेहद निंदनीय घटना हुई। दिल्ली-मेरठ एक्सप्रेसवे के एक टोल प्लाजा पर ऑल इंडिया मजलिस-ए-इत्तेहादुल मुस्लिमीन (एआईएमआईएम) के चीफ असदुद्दीन ओवैसी के काफिले पर दो युवकों ने 9 एमएम की पिस्टल से फायरिंग की। ओवैसी उस समय पश्चिमी यूपी में चुनाव प्रचार के बाद दिल्ली वापस लौट रहे थे।

पुलिस ने दोनों हमलावरों को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है और मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक पूछताछ में इन्होंने जो खुलासा किया है उसके मुताबिक दोनों एक हिंदू संगठन से जुड़े हैं। इनकी पहचान ग्रेटर नोएडा स्थित बादलपुर के रहनेवाले सचिन शर्मा और सहारनपुर निवासी शुभम के तौर पर हुई है। सचिन शर्मा लॉ का स्टूडेंट है। घटनास्थल से एक आल्टो कार भी बरामद की गई है।

सचिन शर्मा के फेसबुक अकाउंट में हिंदू कट्टरपंथी नेता यति नरसिंहानंद का एक वीडियो पाया गया। नरसिंहानंद को हाल ही में मुसलमानों के खिलाफ जहरीले बयान देने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया था। सचिन ने अपने एक पोस्ट में राम भक्त गोपाल के कारनामे का भी समर्थन किया था। राम भक्त गोपाल को वर्ष 2020 में सीएए विरोधी प्रदर्शनकारियों पर फायरिंग के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया था।

ओवैसी पर फायरिंग हापुड़ जिले के पिलुखवा के पास छिजारसी टोल प्लॉजा पर हुई। पुलिस ने आगे की जांच के लिए कार, हथियार और टोल प्लाजा के वीडियो को जब्त कर लिया है। गुरुवार रात अपने प्राइम टाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में मैंने ओवैसी से बात की। उन्होंने बताया कि किस तरह से उनपर हमला हुआ।

ओवैसी ने कहा- ‘हमलोग मेरठ से लौट रहे थे और जब हमारे काफिले की चार गाड़ियां टोल प्लाजा पर रुकीं तो अचानक मैंने एक तेज आवाज सुनी। मुझे बताया गया कि हमारे काफिले पर फायरिंग हो रही है। मैंने दो हमलावरों को देखा, एक लाल रंग की जैकेट पहने हुए था जबकि दूसरा सफेद रंग के कपड़े में था। मैंने अपने ड्राइवर को कार तेज करने को कहा और सामने वाली कार को टक्कर मार दी। दूसरी कार ने लाल जैकेट पहने शख्स को टक्कर मारी। इसी बीच दूसरे हमलावर ने हमारी फॉर्च्यूनर गाड़ी पर फायरिंग शुरू कर दी। गोली लगने से हमारी कार का टायर पंचर हो गया और टोल प्लाजा से करीब 5-6 किमी की दूरी पर हमलोग रुके।’

एआईएमआईएम चीफ ने कहा- ‘हमने तुरंत गाड़ी पर लगी गोलियों के निशान की तस्वीरें लीं और वीडियो बनाया। इसके बाद हमने वहां से तुरंत निकलने का फैसला किया। मैंने अपनी गाड़ी बदली और दिल्ली अपने घर पहुंचा। बाद में हमारे लोग घटनास्थल पर पहुंचे तो पता चला कि लाल रंग की जैकेट वाला हमलावर पकड़ लिया गया है और उसकी पिस्टल जब्त कर ली गई है। एडिशनल एसपी से मेरी बात हुई। उन्होंने कहा कि पुलिस हमारी गाड़ी का टेक्निकल और फॉरेंसिक जायजा लेगी। मैंने उनसे कहा कि जो भी करना है आप कीजिए लेकिन मेरी मांग है कि पुलिस इन दोनों हमलावरों के पीछे जो मास्टमाइंड है, उसका पता लगाए। क्योंकि जाहिर सी बात है कि वे लोग दिल्ली या मेरठ से मेरा पीछ कर रहे होंगे। और उन्हें पता था हमारा काफिला इस टोल प्लाजा पर रुकेगा।

ओवैसी ने कहा- ‘हमलावर हमसे मुश्किल से 10 कदम की दूरी पर होंगे। अल्लाह का करम है कि हमलोग बच गए। वरना वो लोग बुरा इरादा लेकर आए थे। यामीन और हमारी प्रजेंस ऑफ माइंड ने काम किया और हमने हाजी साहब की गाड़ी को पीछे से टक्कर मारी। हालांकि उस गाड़ी का बंपर डैमेज हो गया, हम आगे बढ़े तो पता चला कि गाड़ी की टायर पंचर हो गई है। लेकिन हमने वहां से तुरंत निकलने का फैसला किया। दरअसल यह दो लोगों की हरकत नहीं है, देश की जिस्म में नफरत के जहर का पैगाम घोला जा रहा है। हमें उम्मीद है कि प्रधानमंत्री और उत्तर प्रदेश प्रशासन इस मामले की तह में जाएंगे।’

यूपी के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने पुलिस से घटना की पूरी रिपोर्ट मांगी है। यूपी के आईजीपी, एसएसपी और अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों ने मौके का दौरा किया। राज्य प्रशासन को यह पता लगाना चाहिए कि कौन लोग इस हमले के मास्टमाइंड हैं? इस हमले के पीछे उनका असली मकसद क्या था? वे कौन लोग हैं जिन्होंने इन दोनों हमलावरों को हमले के लिए उकसाया? जानकारों का कहना है कि बिना पूरी प्लानिंग के यह हमला नहीं हो सकता था। हमलावरों को यह मालूम था कि ओवैसी किस कार में हैं। यही वजह है कि उन्होंने सीधे ओवैसी की कार पर फायरिंग शुरू कर दी।

इंटरव्यू में ओवैसी ने कहा कि वह 1994 में विधायक बने लेकिन वे लगातार व्यक्तिगत सुरक्षा लेने से इनकार करते रहे हैं। वे अपने लिए किसी भी तरह की पुलिस सुरक्षा नहीं लेंगे। उन्होंने कहा-‘मुझे पसंद नहीं है कि लोग हथियार लेकर मेरे साथ रहें, मुझे परेशानी होती है, खुद से पुलिसकर्मियों को घिरा देख मुझे अजीब लगता है।’ मैंने जब ओवैसी से यह पूछा कि उस वक्त उन्हें डर नहीं लगा जब हमलावरों को अपनी कार पर फायरिंग करते देखा, इस पर ओवैसी ने कहा-‘मैंने तुरंत कलमा पढ़ना शुरू कर दिया।’

टोल प्लाजा के सीसीटीवी फुटेज को देखकर एक बात तो साफ है कि ओवैसी पर गोलियां पूरी प्लानिंग के साथ चलाईं गईं। उन पर हमला करने वाले घात लगाकर बैठे थे। यह भगवान का शुक्र है कि ओवैसी को जरा सा भी चोट नहीं आई। ओवैसी ने सही कहा कि यह किसी राजनीतिक दल के प्रमुख पर नहीं बल्कि हमारे लोकतंत्र और देश के संविधान पर हमला है। इस घटना को गंभीरता से लेते हुए जांच को उसके तार्किक परिणाम तक ले जाना चाहिए।

मैं ओवैसी के गुस्से और दुख को समझ सकता हूं। अपने भाषणों में वे अपने राजनीतिक विरोधियों पर जोरदार हमले करते हैं, लेकिन इसका मतलब यह नहीं कि उनकी आवाज गोलियों से दबा दी जाए। ओवैसी पर हुए हमले के बाद मेरे पास बोलने के लिए उनके साहस की तारीफ के सिवा और कुछ नहीं है। ओवैसी ने उत्तर प्रदेश के चुनाव में 100 उम्मीदवार उतारे हैं और वो जबरदस्त प्रचार कर रहे हैं। वह बीजेपी, समाजवादी पार्टी, बीएसपी, कांग्रेस, सब पर जोरदार हमला करने में लगे हैं। अगर हमला करने वाले अपने नापाक मंसूबों में कामयाब हो जाते और ओवैसी को जरा सी भी चोट लग जाती तो कितनी गड़बड़ी होती, इसका अंदाजा लगाया जा सकता है। यह उत्तर प्रदेश के माहौल को खराब करने की कोशिश है।

A highly condemnable incident took place on Thursday at a toll plaza on Meerut-Delhi expressway, when two youths fired from 9 mm pistols at the convoy of All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi. The AIMIM leader was returning to Delhi after his election campaign in western UP.

Both the assailants have been arrested, and according to media reports, they have revealed that they belong to a Hindu outfit. They have been identified as Sachin Sharma, a law student from Badalpur, Greater Noida, and Shubham, from Saharanpur. An Alto car was also seized from the spot.

The Facebook account of Sachin Sharma carries a video of Hindu fundamentalist leader Yati Narsinghanand, who was recently arrested for giving a hate speech against Muslims. In one of his posts, Sachin had supported the act of Ram Bhakt Gopal, who was arrested for firing at anti-CAA protesters in Delhi in 2020.

The firing took place at Chhajarsi toll plaza near Pilkhuwa of Hapur district. Police have seized the car, weapons and the toll plaza video for further investigation. In my prime time show ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ on Thursday night, I spoke to Owaisi, who described how the attack took place.

“We were returning from Meerut, when our convoy of four vehicles stopped at the toll plaza. Suddenly, I heard a loud sound, and I was told that our convoy is being fired at. I saw two attackers, one with a red dress with a hood, and the other in a white dress. I asked my driver to drive the car fast and hit the car that was in front of us. The other car hit one of the attackers, who was wearing a red hood. The other attacker started firing at our Fortuner vehicle. Our car tyre was punctured by bullets, and it stopped 5-6 km away from the toll plaza”, Owaisi said.

“We immediately took photos and videos of the bullet marks, and we decided to leave the place fast. I changed my vehicle and reached my home in Delhi. Later our people who went to the spot found that the red hood wearing assailant had been caught and his pistol seized. I had a talk with the Additional SP, who told me police would take technical and forensic evidences from our vehicles. I told him that our main demand is that police should trace the mastermind behind these two assailants, because they had been following us, from either Delhi or Meerut, I do not know, but they knew that our convoy would stop at this toll gate”, the AIMIM chief said.

“The attackers were hardly ten steps away from us and by the grace of Allah, we were saved, otherwise their intent was lethal. …It was the presence of mind of Yameen and myself, that we decided to hit Haji Saheb’s vehicle from behind, damaging his bumper, we moved forward, noticed that our tyre was punctured, but we decided to leave the spot immediately. This is not the act of two persons, this is the result of the poison of hate that is being mixed in our nation’s body politic, and we hope the Prime Minister and UP administration should get to the bottom of this matter”, Owaisi said.

Already, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath has sought details about the attack from police. UP IG police, SSP and other senior officers have visited the spot. The state administration much find out who were the masterminds behind this attack? What was the ulterior motive behind this attack? Who are the persons who motivated these two assailants to launch this attack ? Experts say, this attack could not have happened without proper planning. The attackers knew in which car Owaisi was travelling, and they fired directly at his car.

In my interview, Owaisi said, he had been consistently refusing to take personal security since 1994, and will continue to decline any offer of police security for himself. “I consider this odd to find myself surrounded by policemen when I meet people”, he said. I also asked Owaisi, whether he had fear in his mind when he saw the attacker firing at his car, he replied: “I promptly started reading Kalmaa (holy Quran verse)”.

The toll plaza video clearly shows that the attack was pre-planned and it was by God’s grace that Owaisi could save his life. The video also points towards a bigger conspiracy. Owaisi is right when he says that this is not an attack on the chief of a political party, it is an assault on our democracy and our Constitution. This deplorable incident must be taken seriously and the probe must be taken to a logical end.

I understand Owaisi’s anger and sadness. In his speeches, he is always hard hitting against his rivals, but this does not mean that his voice should be silenced by bullets. I have nothing but admiration for his courage, for speaking out clearly after the attempt on his life. Owaisi’s AIMIM has fielded nearly 100 candidates in the UP assembly polls, and in his non-stop campaign, he has been hitting out at BJP, SP, Congress and BSP. One must realize the disturbance that could have taken place had Owaisi been injured in the attack. This is nothing but a crude attempt to disturb peace in UP during the assembly elections.

चुनाव प्रचार के रफ्तार पकड़ते ही योगी आदित्यनाथ और अखिलेश यादव के बीच जुबानी जंग और आरोप-प्रत्यारोप का दौर शुरू हो गया है। योगी ने अपनी रैलियों में आरोप लगाया कि दो ‘लड़के’ चुनाव लड़ने के लिए अब फिर साथ आ गए हैं, लेकिन जब 5 साल पहले मुजफ्फरनगर में सांप्रदायिक दंगे हुए थे, उनमें से एक लड़का लखनऊ में दंगाइयों के नेता को सम्मानित कर रहा था, जबकि दूसरा लड़का दिल्ली में बैठकर तमाशा देख रहा था और कह रहा था कि दंगाइयों के खिलाफ ज्यादा कार्रवाई नहीं होनी चाहिए। अखिलेश यादव और जयंत चौधरी ने योगी के बयान पर तुरंत प्रतिक्रिया दी।

एक संयुक्त संवाददाता सम्मेलन में अखिलेश यादव ने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री को इस तरह की बातें नहीं करनी चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा, ‘योगी जी जिस भाषा का इस्तेमाल कर रहे हैं, वह मुख्यमंत्री की कुर्सी पर बैठे व्यक्ति को शोभा नहीं देती। लगता है योगी को अपनी मनपसंद सीट से टिकट नहीं मिला, इसलिए वह गुस्से में हैं, उन्हें गर्मी लग रही है, लेकिन 10 मार्च को नतीजे आने के बाद वह शांत हो जाएंगे।’

अखिलेश यादव पर हमले में योगी ने कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ी। उन्होंने कहा, पहले की सरकारों में मुख्यमंत्री सबसे पहले अपना बंगला बनवाते थे, लेकिन उनके 5 साल के शासन में यूपी में 43 लाख गरीब परिवारों के लिए घर बनवाए गए। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि पहले सरकारी खजाने का अधिकांश पैसा तत्कालीन सीएम के ‘इत्र वाले मित्रों’ की जेब में चला जाता था। योगी ने कहा, ‘वे केवल नाम से समाजवादी हैं, लेकिन इनका काम ‘दंगावादी’ और सोच ‘परिवारवादी’ है।’

अखिलेश ने चेतावनी दी कि अगर उनकी पार्टी सत्ता में आई तो योगी के खिलाफ दर्ज सभी पुराने आपराधिक मामले फिर से खोल दिए जाएंगे। लेकिन इन सब बातों का योगी पर कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ा। योगी ने आरोप लगाया कि सपा के शासन के दौरान यूपी में तमंचों की फैक्ट्रियां चलती थीं, लेकिन बीजेपी की सरकार डिफेंस कॉरिडोर बना रही है और यहां तोपें बनेंगी। योगी ने कहा कि पहले की सरकार में गैंगस्टर और माफिया का शासन चलता था, जबकि बीजेपी के शासन के दौरान भ्रष्ट माफियाओं की अवैध संपत्तियों पर बुलडोजर चलवाया गया। योगी ने कहा, ‘ये बुलडोजर अब रुकने वाले नहीं हैं।’

दोनों की बातें सुन कर मैंने पाया कि कि अपने चुनाव प्रचार के शुरुआती दौर में अखिलेश अपने शासन की उपलब्धियां गिनवाते थे, और अपनी पार्टी के सत्ता में आने पर नई योजनाओं को लागू करने का वादा करते थे। लेकिन अब ऐसा लग रहा है कि छोटे दलों के साथ गठबंधन करने के बाद अखिलेश की ज़्यादातर ताकत और वक्त गठबंधन को बचाए रखने में खर्च हो रहा है।

जैसे-जैसे चुनाव की तारीखें नजदीक आ रही हैं, अखिलेश अपने सहयोगियों की सफलता पर ज्यादा भरोसा करते नजर आ रहे हैं। अखिलेश अब अपराध, भ्रष्टाचार और दंगाइयों पर ज्यादा नहीं बोलते। इसकी वजह यह है कि उनकी पार्टी और उनके सहयोगियों ने आपराधिक पृष्ठभूमि वाले कई उम्मीदवारों को टिकट दिया है। इससे योगी को अखिलेश पर हमला करने का मौका मिल गया है। अब योगी अपराधियों और माफिया को टिकट दिये जाने की बात को प्रमुखता से उठा रहे हैं।

योगी आदित्यनाथ बड़ी चतुराई से दोनों बातें करते हैं। वह अखिलेश सरकार की कमियां बताते हैं और फिर अपने शासन के दौरान किए गए काम गिनवाते हैं। जब वह कहते हैं कि पिछली सरकारों में नेताओं ने बंगले बनवाए, उसी सांस में वह बता देते हैं कि उनकी सरकार ने गरीबों के लिए 43 लाख घर बनवाए।

इसके बाद योगी उन अवैध तमंचा फैक्ट्रियों की बात करते हैं जो पिछली सरकार के दौरान पनपे थे, और फिर इसकी तुलना डिफेंस कॉरिडोर से करते हैं जो हमारी सेना के लिए तोपें बनाएगा। फिर वह मतदाताओं को याद दिलाते हैं कि कैसे अखिलेश ने उन नेताओं को सम्मानित किया जिनका हाथ मुजफ्फरनगर दंगों के पीछे था और उसी सांस में यह भी याद दिला देते हैं कि कैसे उनकी सरकार ने अपराधियों, दंगाइयों और भ्रष्ट माफियाओं को सलाखों के पीछे भेजा और उनकी अवैध संपत्तियों पर बुलडोजर चलवाया।

The election campaign in Uttar Pradesh is now in full swing with all major stakeholders addressing election meetings across western and central regions. BJP president J P Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav, RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary, BSP supremo Mayawati and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi are busy addressing election rallies. Yogi will file his nomination in Gorakhpur on Friday. On Wednesday, he addressed four election meetings in western UP.

As the poll campaign speed went on full throttle, Yogi and Akhilesh Yadav were locked in a war of words, levelling charges and counter-charges. Yogi alleged in his meetings that two ‘ladke’ (youths) have now joined hands to fight elections, but when there were communal riots in Muzaffarnagar five years ago, one of them was in Lucknow felicitating the leader of rioters, while the other was in Delhi, doing nothing for the victims. Akhilesh Yadav and Jayant Chaudhary promptly responded.

Addressing a joint press conference, Akhilesh Yadav said, the chief minister should be careful with his words while levelling accusations. “The language that Yogi Ji is using does not behove the dignity of the chair of the chief minister. He said, Yogi seems not have lost his bearings after he was denied the ticket of his choice, he is feeling the heat, but he would calm down after the results are out on March 10.

Yogi was unsparing in his attack on Akhilesh Yadav. He said, previously chief ministers used to spend lavishly on their official bungalows, but during his five-year-rule, houses were built for 43 lakh poor families in UP. He alleged that most of the money from official exchequer were being diverted to the friends of the then CM, who used to manufacture perfumes (itra waale mitra). “They are only Samajwadi by name, but by act, they are ‘dangawadi’ (rioters), and their thought process is pariwaarwadi (dynastic)”, Yogi said.

Akhilesh threatened that if his party came to power, all previous criminal cases filed against Yogi will be reopened. Undeterred, Yogi went on alleging that during SP’s rule there used to be illegal gun making factories in UP, but under BJP rule, a defence corridor for making defence related products, has been launched. Yogi said, during earlier rule, gangsters and mafia used to rule, while during BJP rule, bulldozers were used to destroy illegal properties acquired by corrupt mafia gangsters. “These bulldozers shall not stop”, Yogi said.

What I find is, during the earlier phase of campaigning, Akhilesh Yadav used to list the achievements of his rule and promise to implement new schemes if his party comes to power, but after he cobbled an alliance with smaller parties, Akhilesh appears to be spending much of his time in keeping this alliance intact.

Akhilesh is now relying more on the success of his allies as the dates of polling approach. Akhilesh no more speaks about crime, corruption and rioters. The reason is that his party and his allies have given tickets to several candidates who have criminal background. This has given Yogi the opportunity to strike back at Akhilesh, the main topic being, tickets given to criminals and gangsters.

Yogi Adityanath cleverly mixes the two: the achievements during his rule and the weaknesses and failures of Akhilesh’s rule. Look at the manner in which he launches his attack on rivals: he mentions how 43 lakh families got houses during his rule and juxtaposes this figure with the money spent by previous chief ministers on their bungalows.

Yogi then compares the illegal arms factories that used to thrive during earlier rule, and compares this with the defence corridor that is going to manufacture artillery guns for our army. He then reminds voters of how Akhilesh felicitated leaders who had a hand behind Muzaffarnagar riots and in the same breath, mentions how his government sent criminals, rioters, and corrupt mafia leaders behind bars and bulldozed their ill-gotten properties.

वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारामन ने मंगलवार को एक दूरदर्शी बजट पेश किया। इस बजट में इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर के विकास पर ज्यादा फोकस किया गया है। सरकार का दावा है कि इससे विकास और गुणवत्तापूर्ण रोजगार का रास्ता खुलेगा, रोजगार के नए अवसर पैदा होंगे। सड़क, रेलवे, एयरपोर्ट्स, बंदरगाह, जलमार्गों और लॉजिस्टिक्स जैसे इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर पर खर्च के लिए सरकार ने बजट में करीब साढ़े सात लाख करोड़ का प्रवाधान किया है।

दूसरी बड़ी घोषणा यह की गई कि सरकार ने देश में डिजिटल करेंसी को मंजूरी दे दी। अब रिजर्व बैंक डिजिटल करेंसी जारी करेगा। सीतारामन ने कहा कि इसी साल से डिजिटल करेंसी में लेन-देन हो सकेगा और इससे होनी वाली इनकम पर 30 प्रतिशत टैक्स लगेगा। डिजिटल करेंसी के ट्रांजैक्शन पर 1 प्रतिशत टीडीएस लगेगा। तीसरी बड़ी खबर यह है कि सरकार ने इनकम टैक्स देनेवालों को ना तो कोई राहत दी है और ना कोई बोझ डाला है।

चौथी बात यह है कि अगर टैक्स पेयर्स को रिटर्न फाइल करते समय अपनी इनकम दिखाने में कोई चूक हुई तो उन्हें दो साल के अंदर ब्याज पर 20 से 50 प्रतिशत अतिरिक्त टैक्स का भुगतान कर इस गलती को सुधारने का मौका मिलेगा। हालांकि वे लोग इस सुविधा का उपयोग नहीं कर पाएंगे अगर उनके अपडेटेड रिटर्न से कुल टैक्स लायबिलिटी कम हो जाती है या फिर टैक्स रिफंड की रकम बढ़ जाती है। इसके साथ ही वित्त मंत्री ने एक बड़ी खामी को दूर किया है। उन्होंने ऐलान किया है कि अब इनकम टैक्स छापे में जो भी कालाधन बरामद होगा, वह जब्त हो जाएगा। अब तक छापेमारी के दौरान जब्त अघोषित नगदी पर टैक्स और 30 फीसदी जुर्माना लगाकर बाकी की बची हुई रकम वापस कर दी जाती थी। लेकिन अब ऐसा नहीं होगा।

इस बजट की पांचवीं बड़ी बात यह है कि सरकार ने अगले 25 सालों के विकास को ध्यान में रखकर इसे तैयार किया है। जब देश आजादी के 100 साल मना रहा होगा तब तक एक नया भारत बनाने की पूरी रणनीति के साथ इसे तैयार किया गया है। सरकार का दावा है कि इस बजट से किसानों, नौजवानों, व्यापारियों, उद्योग जगत और अर्थव्यवस्था के अन्य सभी क्षेत्रों को फायदा होगा। इससे स्वदेशी का विकास होगा और देश आत्मनिर्भरता की दिशा में आगे बढ़ेगा। इसका उद्देश्य ‘आत्मनिर्भर भारत’ के लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करना है।

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने इसे ‘लोगों के अनुकूल और प्रगतिशील’ बजट बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि यह बजट मौजूदा चुनौतियों और भविष्य की जरूरतों को ध्यान में रखकर बनाया गया है। इसमें हर वर्ग का ख्याल रखा गया है। उन्होंने कहा- ‘यह बजट 100 साल की भयंकर आपदा के बीच विकास के एक नए विश्वास के साथ आया है। यह बजट ज्यादा निवेश, ज्यादा अवसर, ज्यादा विकास और रोजगार की संभावनाओं से भरा है।’

बजट में सरकार ने इस वित्तीय वर्ष के दौरान 60 लाख नई नौकरियां, पीएम आवास योजना के तहत 80 लाख नए घर और 3 करोड़ 80 लाख घरों तक पाइप लाइन के जरिए पीने का पानी पहुंचाने का लक्ष्य रखा है। सरकार ने बजट में कृषि पर भी फोकस किया है। धान और गेहूं की फसल की खरीद के लिए 2 लाख 37 हजार करोड़ रुपए रखे गए हैं। इससे एक करोड़ 67 लाख किसानों को फसल की कीमत का भुगतान सीधे उनके बैंक अकाउंट में किया जाएगा।

बुंदेलखंड में केन-बेतवा लिंक परियोजना की बात लंबे वक्त से हो रही है। सरकार ने इस बार बजट में केन-बेतवा नदियों को जोड़ने के लिए 1400 करोड़ रुपए का प्रावधान किया है। इस परियोजना के पूरे होने से बुंदेलखंड में सिंचाई की समस्या काफी हद तक दूर होगी और किसानों को सिंचाई के लिए पानी आसानी से उपलब्ध हो सकेगा। इसके अलावा सरकार ने गंगा के किनारे पांच किलोमीटर तक के दायरे में ऑर्गेनिंक खेती को बढ़ावा देने की योजना का भी ऐलान किया है।

बहुत लोगों को लगता था कि पांच राज्यों में चुनाव हैं तो एक पॉपुलर, लोकलुभावन बजट आएगा जिसमें बड़े-बड़े सपने दिखाए जाएंगे और बड़े-बड़े वायदे किए जाएंगे। लेकिन प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने वोटों का ध्यान नहीं रखा। उन्होंने मतदाताओं की भावनाओं से खिलवाड़ नहीं करने का फैसला लिया। उन्होंने देश की अर्थव्यवस्था को मजबूत करने पर जोर दिया। देश की जीडीपी ग्रोथ रेट 9.2 प्रतिशत है, और यह दुनिया की बड़ी-बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्थाओं में सबसे ज्यादा है। कोरोना महामारी के दो साल बाद भी अगर हमारी अर्थव्यवस्था अपने पैरों पर खड़ी हो पाई है तो इसका मतलब है कि सरकार की ‘नीति’ और ‘नीयत’ दोनों ठीक है।

अब देखते हैं कि बजट पर विपक्ष के नेताओं की क्या प्रतिक्रिया रही। कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने ट्वीट किया -‘मोदी सरकार के बजट में कुछ नहीं है, वेतनभोगी लोगों, मध्यवर्ग, गरीब और वंचित वर्ग, युवाओं, किसानों और एमएसएमई के लिए कुछ नहीं है।’ वहीं तृणमूल कांग्रेस की सुप्रीमो ममता बनर्जी ने ट्वीट किया: ‘बेरोजगारी और महंगाई से पिस रही आम जनता के लिए बजट में कुछ नहीं है। केवल बड़ी-बड़ी बातें हैं और हकीकत में कुछ नहीं है-‘पेगासस स्पिन बजट’ है।’

समाजवादी पार्टी के सुप्रीमो ने ट्वीट किया: ‘काम-कारोबार सब हुआ चौपट…. ऐतिहासिक मंदी, लाखों की नौकरी कर गयी चट… आम जनता की आमदनी गयी घट..बेकारी-बीमारी में बैंकों में जमा निकली सारी बचत…अब लोगों की जेब काटने के लिए आया भाजपा का एक और बजट…उप्र से भाजपा के दुखदायी युग का अंत शुरू हो रहा है! यूपी कहे आज का, नहीं चाहिए भाजपा।’

कांग्रेस की नेता प्रियंका गांधी वाड्रा ने ट्वीट किया: ‘न किसानों की आय दुगनी… न मध्यम वर्ग को टैक्स में छूट… न महंगाई से निजात…न छोटे उद्योगों को राहत… न युवाओं को रोजगार। बस पुराने हो चुके जुमले और सब्सिडी पर प्रहार, यही है मोदी सरकार के बजट का सार।’

वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारामन ने इन आलोचनाओं का जवाब देते हुए कहा, धान और गेहूं की खरीद के लिए 2.37 लाख रुपए सीधे किसानों के बैंक अकाउंट में भेजा जाएंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार साढ़े सात लाख करोड़ रुपए का कैपिटल इन्वेस्टमेंट कर रही है, इससे सड़कें, मकान, बंदरगाह और एयरपोर्ट बनेंगे। इसके अलावा सरकार छोटे और मध्यम कारोबारियों की भी मदद करेगी। इन सारे प्रयासों से देश में 60 लाख नई नौकरियां पैदा होंगी। राहुल गांधी पर पलटवार करते हुए सीतारामन ने कहा, ‘राहुल को देखना चाहिए कि पंजाब में युवाओं को नौकरी क्यों नहीं मिल रही है, छत्तीसगढ़ और महाराष्ट्र में किसान अभी भी आत्महत्या क्यों कर रहे हैं। राहुल गांधी अगर सोच-समझ कर आलोचना करें तो उनका स्वागत है, वरना लोग उन्हें गंभीरता से नहीं लेंगे।’

अगर इस बजट का पुराने परंपरागत तरीके से विश्लेषण करें तो यह दिखाई देगा कि इनकम टैक्स में राहत नहीं मिली, चीजों के दाम कम नहीं हुए, किसानों को कुछ नहीं मिला, रोजगार के लिए कुछ नहीं हुआ लेकिन अगर इसी बजट को नए आधुनिक भारत के लिहाज से देखें तो बिल्कुल दूसरी तस्वीर दिखाई देती है।

जैसा कि निर्मला सीतारमण ने कहा कि पीएम गति शक्ति योजना के आधार पर इस बजट में ग्रोथ के सात इंजनों पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया है। सड़कें, रेलवे, बंदरगाह, हवाई अड्डे, जलमार्ग, लॉजिस्टिक्स इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर और मास ट्रांसपोर्ट, ये सात इंजन हैं। देश की आजादी के 100 साल पूरे होने पर यह मोदी का सपना है। इस अवधि को सीतारामन ने ‘अमृत काल’ बताया। यह नाम मौजूदा अमृत महोत्सव के आधार पर दिया गया है, जिसे देश स्वतंत्रता के 75 वर्ष पूरे होने पर मना रहा है।

इस बजट में आपको हर क्षेत्र में डिजिटल की छाप दिखाई देगी। नए जमाने की हवा दिखाई देगी। लोकसभा में सीतारामन ने पहली बार छपा हुआ बजट भाषण पढ़ने के बजाय डिजिटल आईपैड के जरिए भाषण पढ़ा। डिजिटल एजुकेशन, डिजिटल यूनिवर्सिटी, डिजिटल हेल्थ, डिजिटल रुपया और डिजिटल कांति के लिए टेलीकॉम में 5 जी की तैयारी, किसानों के लिए ड्रोन, गंगा के किनारे ऑर्गेनिक खेती, 400 वंदे भारत ट्रेन, बड़े पैमाने पर पोर्ट्स, एय़रपोर्ट्स और हाइवे का निर्माण और स्टार्ट अप को प्रोत्साहन, ये सब नए जमाने की चीजें हैं।

अगर हमें दुनिया का मुकाबला करना है और देश को वाकई में विकास के रास्ते पर ले जाना है तो ये सब जरूरी है। इसमें रोजगार भी है और ज्यादा कमाई भी है। एक्सपोर्ट भी है और ज्यादा एफडीआई भी है। यह नए डिजिटल इंडिया की तस्वीर है और इसको उसी दृष्टि से देखना चाहिए।

वित्त मंत्री ने इस वित्तीय वर्ष से नए ई-पासपोर्ट लॉन्च करने का ऐलान किया है। इसमें एम्बेडेड चिप्स होंगे जो पासपोर्ट धारकों की पहचान को वेरिफाई करने के लिए रेडियो फ्रीक्वेंसी आइडेंटिफिकेशन (RFID) और बायोमेट्रिक्स का उपयोग करेंगे। फिर धीरे-धीरे ई-पासपोर्ट पारंपरिक पासपोर्ट की जगह ले लेंगे। सीतारमण ने एक ई-यूनिवर्सिटी शुरू करने का भी ऐलान किया। देश-स्टैक पोर्टल (DESH-Stack portal) के जरिए ऑनलाइन शिक्षा मिल सकेगी। इसे हब और स्पोक मॉडल पर बनाया जाएगा। देश की विभिन्न यूनिवर्सिटीज के सहयोग से इस ई-यूनिवर्सिटी की स्थापना की जाएगी।

नरेन्द्र मोदी ने 25 साल के विजन की बात की है। अगर आजादी के बाद सरकारों ने इसी तरह की दूरंदेशी दिखाई होती और आने वाले 20-25 साल को ध्यान में रखकर योजना बनाई होती तो देश बहुत आगे निकल चुका होता।

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented on Tuesday a forward-looking budget that focusses more on developing infrastructure and, in the process, will definitely open more avenues for development, quality employment, and new job opportunities. Rs 7.5 lakh crore has been earmarked for capital investment on infrastructure like roads, railway, airports, ports, waterways and logistics.

The second major announcement was related to the arrival of digital currency. Reserve Bank of India will introduce digital currency this year itself, and all gains made on transfer of digital virtual assets will be taxed at 30 per cent, Sitharaman said. One per cent TDS will be levied on all digital currency transactions.

Thirdly, she decided not to give any more relief nor impose tax burden on income tax payers.

Fourthly, tax payers will be allowed to update their income tax returns within two years by paying an additional tax of 25-50 per cent on interest. This will be beneficial for income tax payers who have missed the deadline to file revised income tax return. However, they will not be able to use this facility if their updated return leads to lesser total tax liability or increase in income tax refund. A major loophole has been plugged by the Finance Minister, who announced that all black money seized during raids shall stand confiscated. Till now, tax evaders used to pay income tax liability and 30 per cent penalty on undisclosed cash seized during raids.

The fifth, and most important point, in this year’s Budget is that it has been prepared keeping in mind the overall strategy for creating a New India 25 years hence, when the nation will be celebrating 100 years of freedom. This will benefit farmers, youths, traders, industry and all other sectors of economy. The objective is to achieve ‘aatmanirbharta’ (self-reliance).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi described it as a “people-friendly and progressive” budget. “This budget has come with a new sense of confidence towards progress amidst a once-in-a-century calamity. The budget is full of more investments, more opportunities, more growth and more jobs”, he said.

The budget has kept a target of providing 60 lakh new jobs, 80 lakh new houses under PM Awas Yojana and piped water supply to 3.80 crore households during this financial year. The budget has also focussed on the farm sector, earmarking Rs 2.37 lakh crore on procurement of wheat and paddy. More than 1.67 crore farmers will get their procurement prices directly to their bank accounts.

Rs 1,400 crore has been earmarked for linking the Ken and Betwa rivers, pending since decades, to help irrigate the parched land of Bundelkhand, where farmers have been facing drought almost every year. The Budget also proposes to promote pesticide-free natural farming along the five kilometre wide stretch on the Ganga river bank.

Most of the political watchers were expecting a populist budget with big promises and lofty dreams in view of the crucial assembly elections in five states, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose not to tread that path. Modi chose not to pander to the sentiments of voters. Instead, he focussed on how to strengthen the economy. India’s economy today has registered a 9.2 per cent GDP growth rate, despite industry being badly hit during the Covid pandemic for the last two years. In essence, this Budget underlines the ‘neeti’ (policy) and ‘neeyat’ (intent) of this government.

Now a look at how the Opposition leaders reacted to the budget. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted: “Modi Government’s Zero Sum Budget. Nothing for salaried class, middle class, the poor and deprived, youth, farmers, MSMEs”. Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee tweeted: “BUDGET HAS ZERO FOR COMMON PEOPLE, WHO ARE GETTING CRUSHED BY UNEMPLOYMENT & INFLATION. GOVT IS LOST IN BIG WORDS SIGNIFYING NOTHING – A PEGASUS SPIN BUDGET.”

Samajwadi Party supremo tweeted: “jobs, businesses have collapsed..historic recession, lakhs have lost their jobs, ..incomes of common people have declined..they withdrew all savings from banks due to joblessness and illness..Now one more budget from BJP which will pinch everybody’s pickets.. the end of BJP’s dark age in UP has begun, UP kahe aaj ka, nahin chahiye Bhajapa”.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tweeted: “Farmers’ income have not doubled, no relief in tax for middle class, no relief for small industries, no jobs for youths, Only old ‘jumlas’ and attack on subsidies, this, in essence, is Modi’s budget”.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman replied to these criticisms, by saying, Rs 2.37 lakh procurement prices for paddy and wheat will be sent directly to the bank accounts of farmers, and nearly 60 lakh people will get jobs after Rs 7.5 lakh crore capital investment on highways, ports, airports, railway and logistics. In a counter-attack on Rahul Gandhi, Sitharaman said, “Rahul should see why youths are not getting jobs in Punjab and why farmers are still committing suicide in Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. People will not take Rahul seriously, if he gives frivolous reactions.”

If we start analyzing the Union Budget in a traditional manner, as was being done for decades, then we can surely say that it has not given any relief to middle class income tax payer, it has not lowered prices of commodities, farmers got nothing and no major announcement was made for job creation, but if one views this as a budget for a new, modern India, one can clearly see where it is headed.

The budget has focussed on seven growth engines, as Sitharaman said, based on PM Gati Shakti plan. Roads, railway, ports, airports, waterways, logistics infra and mass transport are these seven engines. This is Modi’s dream for India At 100, the year 2047, when India will complete 100 years of freedom from British rule. This has been described as “Amrit Kaal’ (The Age of Nectar) by Sitharaman, based on the current Amrit Mahotsav that the nation is celebrating after 75 years of freedom.

You will also find everything digital in this budget. The speech was given by Sitharaman in Lok Sabha, for the first time, on a digital iPad, instead of reading from a printed booklet. She spoke about digital education, digital university, digital health, digital Rupee, 5G for a digital telecom revolution, drones for mapping crops, organic farming near Ganga river, encouragement to startups, 400 Vande Bharat trains, ports, airports and highways, huge railway cargo terminals, etc.

These are the signs of India coming of age. Unless we progress on this front, we cannot take on the rest of the world in the field of post-modern industrialization and hi-tech agro farming. These projects envisage more jobs, more earnings, more exports, more FDIs – this is the image of a new, digital India in the making.

The Finance Minister has also announced the launch of new e-passports from this financial year. It will have embedded chips which will use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and biometrics to verify the identity of passport holders and will gradually replace traditional printed passports. Sitharaman also announced the launch of an e-university, named DESH-Stack portal, for online learning, which will be built on a hub and spoke model. The e-university will be set up in collaboration with various Indian universities.

This should be seen as a harbinger of a new India, based on Narendra Modi’s vision for the next 25 years. Had our rulers shown the same farsightedness soon after Independence and had they embarked on 25-year-long plans, the present state of economy could have been altogether different. We could have left others behind in the race towards progress.

चुनाव आयोग ने सोमवार को चुनाव में लगी पाबंदियों को 11 फरवरी तक बढ़ा दिया है। रोड शो, पदयात्रा, साइकिल रैली और जूलूस निकालने पर रोक फिलहाल जारी रहेगी। अब पब्लिक मीटिंग में ज्यादा से ज्यादा एक हज़ार लोग इकट्ठा हो सकेंगे लेकिन लोगों की संख्या के हिसाब से मैदान की क्षमता डबल होनी चाहिए। वहीं डोर-टू-डोर कैंपेन में भी 20 से ज्यादा लोग नहीं जा पाएंगे। चुनाव आयोग ने सारे राजनीतिक दलों और उम्मीदवारों से कहा है कि कोविड गाइडलाइंस का पालन करना जरूरी है वरना एक्शन लिया जाएगा। आयोग की पाबंदियों का असर पूरे चुनाव प्रचार पर दिखाई दे रहा है।

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी जो अक्सर अपनी चुनावी रैलियों में लाखों लोगों की भीड़ को संबोधित करते थे, सोमवार को उन्होंने वर्चुअल रैली की । पीएम मोदी ने पश्चिमी यूपी के मुजफ्फरनगर, शामली, बागपत, सहारनपुर और गौतमबुद्धनगर में 21 विधानसभा के मतदाताओं को वर्चुअली संबोधित किया। इन इलाकों में 100 जगहों पर एलईडी वैन और टीवी स्क्रीन लगाए गए थे।

प्रचार भले ही वर्चुअल था पर ना मोदी का अंदाज बदला और ना ही तेवर बदले। बीजेपी के सबसे बड़े प्रचारक नरेन्द्र मोदी ने विपक्ष और खासतौर से समाजवादी पार्टी पर जमकर निशाना साधा। उन्होंने उत्तर प्रदेश की जनता को योगी आदित्यनाथ और अखिलेश यादव की सरकारों के बीच का फर्क समझाया।

अखिलेश यादव का नाम लिए बिना मोदी ने कहा अखिलेश यादव ऐसे नेता हैं जो सोते रहते हैं और सिर्फ सपने देखते हैं। लेकिन योगी आदित्यनाथ ऐसे नेता हैं जो जागते हुए रहकर सारे काम पूरे करते हैं, सभी संकल्पों को पूरा करते हैं। इस वर्चुअल रैली को सीएम योगी आदित्यनाथ ने भी आगरा से संबोधित किया। हर लोकेशन पर 500 लोगों ने मोदी के भाषण को सुना। चूंकि कुल 100 जगहों पर एलईडी लगाए गए थे, इस तरह कुल मिलाकर 50 हजार लोगों ने मोदी की इस वर्चुअल रैली में हिस्सा लिया।

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने अपने भाषण में लॉ एंड ऑर्डर को लेकर अखिलेश यादव की पिछली सरकार को आड़े हाथों लिया। प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि पांच साल पहले तक यूपी की सरकार दबंग और माफिया नेता चला रहे थे। पीएम मोदी ने कहा-‘पांच साल पहले बाहुबलियों का कहा शब्द कानून था, उनका कहा ही शासन का आदेश था। पांच साल पहले- व्यापारी लुटता था, बेटी घर से बाहर निकलने में घबराती थी। माफिया, सरकारी संरक्षण में खुलेआम घूमते थे।’

पीएम मोदी ने कहा, ‘पश्चिमी यूपी के लोग कभी नहीं भूल सकते कि जब यह इलाका दंगों की आग में जल रहा था तो पहले वाली सरकार (सैफई में) उत्सव मना रही थी। पांच साल पहले- गरीब, दलित, वंचित, पिछड़ों के घर-ज़मीन-दुकान पर जबरन कब्ज़ा कर लिया गया था। लोगों के पलायन की खबरें आए दिन आती थीं। अपहरण, फिरौती और रंगदारी ने मध्यम वर्ग और व्यापारियों को तबाह करके रख दिया था। लेकिन पिछले पांच वर्षों में योगी सरकार उत्तर प्रदेश को इन हालातों से बाहर निकाल कर लाई है।

मोदी ने चेतावनी दी, ‘वही गैंगस्टर और माफिया नेता जो खुद को कानून से ऊपर मानते थे, अब सत्ता में वापस आना चाहते हैं। वे मौके की तलाश में हैं। हम यूपी में बदलाव के लिए खुद को खपा रहे हैं, वो आपसे बदला लेने की ठानकर बैठे हैं। बदला लेना ही हमेशा से उनकी सोच रही है। इसलिए मैं यह देखकर खुश हूं कि यूपी के लोग इन गैंगस्टर्स से बहुत सावधान और सतर्क हैं। यूपी की जनता हमारा काम और उनके कारनामे देखकर इस बार बीजेपी को भरपूर आशीर्वाद देने जा रही है। जो घंटों सोता रहता है उसे सिर्फ सपने आते हैं, जो जागता है वह संकल्प लेता है। योगी जी जागने वाले, संकल्प लेने वाले और उसे पूरा करनेवाले नेता हैं।’

मोदी ने कहा-‘डबल इंजन की सरकार डबल स्पीड से काम कर रही है’। उन्होंने कहा- अब यूपी में एक्सप्रेस-वे, हवाई अड्डों की संख्या डबल हो रही है। यूपी देश का एकमात्र राज्य है, जहां 5 शहरों में मेट्रो ट्रेनें दौड़ रही हैं। पिछली सरकार केवल कागजों पर आधी-अधूरी परियोजनाएं बनाने और उनके शिलान्यास में माहिर थी लेकिन हमारी सरकार डबल इंजन की सरकार सपने पूरे करती है।

मोदी ने दावा किया कि यूपी के नौजवान, फर्स्ट टाइम वोटर्स बीजेपी के साथ हैं क्योंकि युवा मतदादता भी समझ गए हैं कि उनका भविष्य कौन सुधार सकता है। उन्होंने कहा-‘एक तरफ बीजेपी है, जिसके पास विकास का विजन (दृष्टि) है, साफ सुथरा और ईमानदार नेतृत्व है और दूसरी ओर अहंकार से भरे, किसी भी तरह सत्ता पाने का सपना देख रहे, समाज को तोड़ने वाले लोग हैं। विजन के नाम पर इनके पास सिर्फ विरोध है। ये नकली समाजवादी हैं।’

नरेंद्र मोदी के भाषण से साफ है कि बीजेपी उत्तर प्रदेश की जनता को यह बताएगी कि अगर अखिलेश यादव की सरकार आई तो फिर से गुंडागर्दी होगी, दंगे-फसाद होंगे, अपराधी नेतागिरी करेंगे। क्योंकि अखिलेश यादव ने बड़ी संख्या में ऐसे अपराधियों, गैंगस्टर्स और माफिया को चुनाव मैदान में उतारा है, इनमें कुछ बेल पर हैं और कुछ जेल में हैं।

बीजेपी के चुनाव प्रचार का मुख्य जोर योगी आदित्यनाथ को एक ऐसे नेता के तौर पर पेश करना है जिन्होंने प्रदेश में कानून-व्यवस्था बहाल की। योगी के विरोधी भी इस बात को मानते हैं कि योगी सरकार ने अपराधियों और माफियाओं के दिलों में कानून का डर पैदा किया है।

योगी तो रोज कहते हैं कि अखिलेश की सरकार के जमाने में अपराधी और हिस्ट्रीशीटर थाने चलाते थे, माफिया जमीनों पर कब्जा करते थे लेकिन उनके राज में गुंडे तख्ती लटकाकर पुलिस के सामने सरेंडर करने लगे क्योंकि उन्हें इस बात का डर था कि कहीं मुठभेड़ में उनकी जान न चली जाए। वहीं माफिया नेताओं द्वारा अवैध रूप से बनाई गई सम्पत्तियों पर बुलडोजर भी चले।

एक हिसाब से बात सही है कि अगर यूपी का विकास करना है तो रोज-रोज के झगड़े नहीं चाहिए। शांति और कानून के राज के बिना लोगों के कल्याण की योजना लागू नहीं की जा सकती। नरेंद्र मोदी ने अपने भाषण में योगी सरकार की कल्याणकारी योजनाओं का जिक्र किया और कहा कि योगी के शासनकाल में लॉ एंड ऑर्डर अच्छा था, गैंगस्टर्स और भ्रष्ट माफिया नेताओं पर कार्रवाई हुई इसलिए विकास हो पाया। उन्होंने कहा कि योगी सरकार ने जितने काम किए हैं, उतने काम पहले कभी नहीं हुए।

पिछले पांच साल में योगी शासन के दौरान गरीबों के लिए 33 लाख मकान, ढाई करोड़ से ज्यादा शौचालय बनाए गए और गरीबों को इसका लाभ मिला। योगी सरकार का दावा है कि यूपी में करीब डेढ़ करोड़ गरीब परिवारों को मुफ्त बिजली कनेक्शन दिए गए। 1 करोड़ से ज्यादा लोगों को एक हज़ार रुपए प्रति माह की पेंशन और फ्री राशन दिए जा रहे हैं। राज्य में 4 लाख करोड़ से ज्यादा का निवेश आया है।

योगी जब लोगों को याद दिलाते हैं कि समाजवादी पार्टी ने ऐसे लोगों को टिकट दिए जिनके खिलाफ हत्या, अपहरण और दंगों के मामले चल रहे हैं तो अखिलेश कहते हैं कि सबसे ज्यादा केस तो योगी आदित्यनाथ के खिलाफ हैं। योगी ने सत्ता में आने के तुरंत बाद अपने खिलाफ सभी आपराधिक मुकदमों को वापस ले लिया । मैंने यह सवाल योगी आदित्यनाथ से इंडिया टीवी के ‘चुनाव मंच’ कार्यक्रम में इंटरव्यू के दौरान पूछा था, तब उन्होंने कहा कि उनके खिलाफ एक भी केस नहीं है। फिर मैंने याद दिलाया कि अखिलेश कहते हैं कि मुख्यमंत्री योगी ने अपने ऊपर दर्ज मामलों को वापस ले लिया। इस पर योगी ने तुरंत जवाब दिया कि उन्होंने अपने ऊपर लगे किसी केस को वापस नहीं लिया।

अखिलेश यादव ने सोमवार को आरोप लगाया कि बीजेपी ने 99 आपराधिक छवि वाले लोगों को टिकट दे दिया। दिलचस्प बात यह है कि न तो अखिलेश और न ही उनकी पार्टी के नेता पश्चिमी यूपी में नामी अपराधियों और गैंगस्टर्स को समाजवादी पार्टी द्वारा टिकट देने के मुद्दे पर कुछ बोलते हैं । ये ऐसे उम्मीदवार हैं जिनके खिलाफ हत्या के प्रयास, अपहरण और दंगों के केस लंबित हैं।
