In a major escalation in the standoff between the Centre and Aam Aadmi Party, the Lt. Governor of Delhi V. K. Saxena on Friday recommended a CBI probe into the new Delhi Excise Policy implemented by the state government.

This action was taken after the Chief Secretary of Delhi government, Narendra Kumar, in his report to the L-G on July 8, pointed out to seven “deliberate and gross procedural lapses” which led to “undue benefits” for liquor licensees. The new Excise Policy for 2021-22 was implemented in November last year, under which retail licenses were given to 849 vendors to sell liquor across the capital.

The Lt. Governor, while recommending CBI probe, found “substantive indications” of “financial quid pro quo” between the ruling party and licensees. In the line of fire is Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister, who holds the Excise portfolio. Already, Health Minister Satyendar Jain is in jail in a money laundering case.

AAP supremo and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal lashed out at the BJP saying the case was “fake”, and Manish Sisodia “is an extremely honest patriot”. “The case made against him is totally false and baseless and there is not an iota of truth in the allegations”, Kejriwal said.

The chief minister did not reply to specific charges made by the Chief Secretary in his report to the L-G, and confined himself to firing political salvos at the BJP. He said, “I was told that they (BJP) wanted to arrest him and were searching for a false case to frame him”, Kejriwal said. Using harsh words he said, ‘Tum log (BJP) Savarkar ki aulaad (son) ho jisne Angrezon se maafi maangi, aur hum Bhagat Singh ki aulaad hain jo phansi pe latak gaye. Hum jail jaane se nahin darte (You are the sons of Savarkar who apologized to British rulers, and we are the sons of Bhagat Singh, who went to the gallows. We do not fear going to jail)”.

Kejriwal said, “BJP is targeting our party because ours is an honest party and BJP is trying to portray that we are as corrupt as them…They are throwing mud at us by levelling false charges to portray that we are as corrupt as them, but the world is not going to believe their lies.”

BJP leaders Meenakshi Lekhi, Adesh Gupta and Ramvir Singh Bidhuri in a joint press conference lashed out at Kejriwal, saying AAP government has promoted cartelisation to benefit liquor companies. New Delhi MP and Union Minister of State Meenakshi Lekhi alleged that a waiver of Rs 144.4 crore was given to liquor licensees and earnest money deposit of Rs 30 crore from one company was refunded without following rules and procedures. She also alleged that AAP government gave liquor licence to a blacklisted company for two out of the 32 zones in Delhi.

Lekhi said, “I do not know who will go to jail, but there are documents and signatures of people establishing their culpability in taking these questionable decisions. On October 21 last year, the excise department had given notices to companies that were given licences. But on July 14 this year, without a cabinet note, a rebate of Rs 144.4 crore was given to the same companies”.

BJP leaders alleged that all this happened at the instance of CM Kejriwal, who made arbitrary changes in the excise policy, took hasty decisions, and this could not have happened without quid pro quo with the vendors. BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa alleged that Delhi cabinet approved the new excise policy in March last year. In April, a group of ministers made certain changes in the policy, and in the new policy implemented on November 17 last year, more than 600 government-run liquor vends were closed down, and Delhi was divided into 32 zones for distributing licenses to private vendors.

Initially, it was decided that manufacturers, distributors and retailers shall be different, and that a single company shall not be given licences for more than two zones. In practice, the Delhi government gave licences to a single company for five zones each. It was decided that earnest money would be seized if conditions are not fulfilled by vendors, but Manish Sisodia allegedly returned Rs 30 crore earnest money. Moreover, Rs 144 crores were waived off in the name of losses in sales due to Covid pandemic.

Sirsa, who has details of the irregularities that took place, alleged that Kejriwal government had given 12 per cent profit guarantee to distributors, out of which six per cent commission would have been taken in cash. He alleged that ‘one bottle free with one bottle sold’ offer was introduced in order to convert black money into white. Liquor companies, he said, used to deposit the fully money for two bottles sold in banks, but took money for a single bottle from consumers. The second bottle’s price was used to convert black money into white, Sirsa alleged.

In his report to the Lt. Governor, the chief secretary of Delhi government pointed out to certain procedural lapses. One, Refund of earnest money of Rs 30 crore to the lowest bidder for the licence for airport zone after it failed to obtain an NOC from authorities. As per Delhi Excise Rules, 2010, if the bidder fails to complete formalities, the earnest money stands forfeited.

Two, Revised formula of calculation of rates of foreign liquor and removed the levy of import pass fee of Rs50 per case on beer without approval of competent authority, causing loss of revenue to exchequer.

Three, Relaxed provisions of tender document to provide undue financial favours to L7Z (retail) licensees, instead of taking coercive action for default in payment of licence fee, interest and penalty. There are four other procedural lapses in the Chief Secretary’s report, which I shall not go into.

Kejriwal has said that the case will not stand in court, but he has not mentioned that his colleague Satyendar Jain went from lower court to High Court but could not get bail. Can he say that the judiciary is working against him and his party?

Kejriwal had given a character certificate to his ex-colleague Jitendra Tomar in the past, by saying that we got his degree checked, but later the University gave in writing that Tomar’s degree certificate was fake, and he went to jail. Kejriwal does not take Tomar’s name any more.

Kejriwal used to claim that he has picked ‘diamonds and jewels’ for his cabinet who are honest, but his minister Asim Ahmed Khan was caught taking Rs six lakhs bribe from a builder. When this was exposed, Kejriwal ordered CBI probe and gave himself a certificate of honesty.

Another colleague Sandeep Kumar was Women and Child Development Minister. He was caught on camera engaged in sex with women in exchange for ration cards.

Kejriwal now says that it does not matter even if Sisodia goes to jail and “BJP cannot cow us down”. But the fact of the matter is this: neither Kejriwal nor his ministers and colleagues have replied to specific charges made in the chief secretary’s report. AAP leaders are only lashing out at BJP and giving themselves certificates of honesty. All these lofty dialogues may be good for atmospherics, but these will not work in courts. The courts will go through the specific charges made in the report, and in the CBI chargesheet, if ever it is filed.

गुरुवार का दिन भारत के लिए गौरवशाली रहा, जब द्रौपदी मुर्मू भारत की 15वीं राष्ट्रपति चुनी गईं। वह सर्वोच्च संवैधानिक पद पर निर्वाचित होने वाली पहली आदिवासी महिला हैं। मुर्मू सोमवार, 25 जुलाई को राष्ट्रपति पद की शपथ लेंगी।

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने राष्ट्रपति चुनाव में जीत हासिल करने पर एनडीए की उम्मीदवार द्रौपदी मुर्मू को ट्वीट कर बधाई दी। मोदी ने ट्विटर पर लिखा, ‘भारत ने इतिहास रच दिया है। ऐसे समय में जब 1.3 अरब भारतीय आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव मना रहे हैं, पूर्वी भारत के एक सुदूर हिस्से में पैदा हुई आदिवासी समुदाय की एक बेटी हमारी राष्ट्रपति चुनी गई है! श्रीमती द्रौपदी मुर्मू जी का जीवन, उनके शुरुआती संघर्ष, उनकी उत्कृष्ट सेवा और उनकी अनुकरणीय सफलता प्रत्येक भारतीय को प्रेरित करती है। वह हमारे नागरिकों, खासकर गरीबों, वंचितों और दलितों के लिए आशा की किरण बनकर उभरी हैं।’

मोदी ने राष्ट्रपति चुनाव का नतीजा आने के बाद द्रौपदी मुर्मू से उनके घर जाकर मुलाकात की और उन्हें जिस तरह से सम्मानित किया, वह देखने लायक था। मोदी जब द्रौपदी मुर्मू के घर से निकल रहे थे तो मुर्मू उन्हें विदा करने बाहर तक आईं । प्रधानमंत्री ने उनके साथ वहीं खड़े होकर फोटो खिंचवाई, और इसके बाद जब तक वह अंदर नहीं गईं तब तक प्रधानमंत्री वहीं खड़े रह कर इंतजार करते रहे। मुर्मू के घर के अंदर जाने के बाद ही मोदी अपनी गाड़ी में बैठे।

मुर्मू को इलेक्टोरल कॉलेज के 64.03 फीसदी वोट मिले, जबकि उनके दावेदार यशवंत सिन्हा को 35.97 फीसदी वोट मिले। मुर्मू को 540 सांसदों और 2,284 विधायकों के वोट मिले। उन्हें नागालैंड, सिक्किम और आंध्र प्रदेश से 100 फीसदी वोट मिले। 18 राज्यों के 126 विधायकों और 17 सांसदों ने भारी क्रॉस वोटिंग करते हुए मुर्मू को वोट दिया। संसद में 208 सांसदों ने यशवंत सिन्हा को वोट दिया।

बीजेपी अध्यक्ष जे पी नड्डा, रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह, गृह मंत्री अमित शाह, केंद्रीय मंत्री गजेंद्र सिंह शेखावत और धर्मेंद्र प्रधान मुर्मू को राष्ट्रपति चुने जाने पर बधाई देने के लिए उनके आवास पर गए। बीजू जनता दल, शिवसेना, जेएमएम और वाईएसआर कांग्रेस जैसे गैर-एनडीए दलों से मिले व्यापक समर्थन को देखते हुए द्रौपदी मुर्मू की जीत तय थी।

यशवंत सिन्हा को कांग्रेस, तृणमूल कांग्रेस, NCP, RJD, समाजवादी पार्टी, नेशनल कॉन्फ्रेंस और वाम दलों का समर्थन हासिल था, लेकिन कांग्रेस और NCP जैसी पार्टियों के कई नेताओं ने भी द्रौपदी मुर्मू के लिए क्रॉस वोटिंग की। 53 वोट अवैध पाए गए। वोटिंग से पहले यशंवत सिन्हा ने सभी सांसदों और विधायकों से अपनी अन्तरात्मा की आवाज पर वोटिंग करने की अपील की थी। यशवंत सिन्हा को उम्मीद थी कि NDA के कुछ सांसद और विधायक अन्तरात्मा की आवाज पर उन्हें वोट देंगे लेकिन हुआ उल्टा। विपक्ष के कुछ सांसदों और विधायकों ने अपनी अन्तरात्मा की आवाज सुनकर मुर्मू को वोट दिया।

ओडिशा में मुर्मू के गृह जनपद मयूरभंज में, खासतौर पर रायरंगपुर में, जमकर जश्न मनाया गया और लोग खुशी से नाचते दिखाई दिए। मुर्मू का परिवार शपथ ग्रहण समारोह में शामिल होने के लिए दिल्ली आने की तैयारी कर रहा है। उनके भाई तारिणीसेन टुडू ने कहा कि वह अपनी बड़ी बहन से आशीर्वाद लेने के लिए दिल्ली जाएंगे। देश के कई इलाको में आदिवासी समुदाय के लोग नाच-गाकर उनकी जीत का जश्न मना रहे हैं

यदि क्रॉस वोटिंग के पैटर्न का विश्लेषण किया जाए तो द्रौपदी मुर्मू के पक्ष में 100 सांसदों ने पार्टी लाइन से हट कर वोटिंग की। इसके साथ-साथ 12 राज्यों में विरोधी दलों के 104 विधायकों ने भी अंतरात्मा की आवाज पर द्रौपदी मुर्मू को वोट दिया। सबसे ज्यादा असम में 22 विधायकों ने क्रॉस वोटिंग की। इसके बाद मध्य प्रदेश में 19, महाराष्ट्र में 16, झारखंड और गुजरात में 10-10, मेघालय में 7, छत्तीसगढ़ और बिहार में 6-6, गोवा में 4, हिमाचल प्रदेश में 2 जबकि हरियाणा और अरुणाचल प्रदेश में एक-एक विधायक ने पार्टी लाइन से अलग जाकर द्रौपदी मुर्मू को वोट दिया। इन सभी विधायकों ने पार्टी लाइन से अलग जाकर आदिवासी समुदाय से आने वाली द्रौपदी मुर्मू को वोट दिया।

बीजेपी के नेतृत्व वाले NDA के पास अपने दम पर इतने वोट थे कि द्रौपदी मुर्मू का राष्ट्रपति बनना तय था, लेकिन मुर्मू को देश के सर्वोच्च पद पर बैठाकर प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने जो दांव खेला है, वह अहम है। द्रौपदी मुर्मू आदिवासी हैं, जमीन से जुड़ी हैं, एक लंबा राजनीतिक अनुभव रखती हैं और उनकी छवि बिल्कुल बेदाग है।

आजादी के बाद यह पहला मौका है जब कोई आदिवासी राष्ट्रपति के पद पर पहुंचा है। इसीलिए बीजेपी द्रौपदी मुर्मू के राष्ट्रपति बनने का जश्न देश के 100 से ज्यादा आदिवासी बहुल जिलों और 1 लाख 30 हजार गांवों में मनाएगी। यानी अब बीजेपी आदिवासियों के बीच अपनी पैठ को और मजबूत करने की कोशिश करेगी। एक आदिवासी महिला को देश के सर्वेच्च पद पर बैठाने का असर महिलाओं पर भी होगा।

द्रौपदी मुर्मू के गृह राज्य ओडिशा, इससे लगे झारखंड और उत्तर पूर्वी राज्यों में अनुसूचित जनजाति के लोगों की तादाद बहुत ज्यादा है। बीजेपी अब इन लोगों के बीच अपनी पैठ और मजबूत करना चाहती है। 2019 के लोकसभा चुनाव में बीजेपी ने ओडिशा में अच्छा प्रदर्शन किया था और पार्टी अब उसे 2024 के विधानसभा चुनाव में दोहराना चाहती है।

बात सिर्फ ओडिशा की नहीं है। देश के अलग-अलग राज्यों में 1,495 विधानसभा सीटें ऐसी हैं जो अमुसूचित जनजातियों के लिए आरक्षित हैं। इसी तरह लोकसभा की 47 सीटें अनुसूचित जनजातियों के लिए आरक्षित हैं। राज्यों की बात करें तो गुजरात की 27, राजस्थान और महाराष्ट्र की 25-25, मध्य प्रदेश की 47, छत्तीसगढ़ की 29 झारखंड की 28 और ओडिशा की 33 सीटों पर आदिवासी समाज के मतदाता हार जीत का फैसला करते हैं।

इस वक्त गुजरात की आदिवासी बहुल 27 सीटों में से सिर्फ 9 सीटें बीजेपी के पास हैं। गुजरात में इसी साल चुनाव होने हैं। इसी तरह राजस्थान में 25 में से 8, छत्तीसगढ़ में 29 में से सिर्फ 2 और मध्य प्रदेश में अमुसूचित जनजाति के लिए आरक्षित 47 सीटों में से सिर्फ 16 सीट बीजेपी के पास हैं। यानी पिछले चुनाव में आदिवासियों के लिए आरक्षित सीटों में बीजेपी का प्रदर्शन उसकी उम्मीदों के मुताबिक नहीं रहा। अब बीजेपी को उम्मीद है कि द्रौपदी मुर्मू को राष्ट्रपति बनाने से एसटी समुदाय के लोगों में पार्टी को लेकर सही मैसेज जाएगा और चुनावों में इसका फायदा मिलेगा।

द्रौपदी मुर्मू के राष्ट्रपति बनने से अपने देश के हर आदिवासी को, हर गरीब को यह संदेश गया कि वह भी देश क सर्वोच्च पद पर पहुंच सकता है। अगर दिल में देश सेवा का जज्बा हो, जनसेवा की भावना हो, तो इस देश की मिट्टी मान देती है, सम्मान देती है।

दूसरा संदेश यह है कि नरेंद्र मोदी जब किसी ऊंचे पद के लिए उम्मीदवार के बारे में सोचते हैं तो उनकी नजर समाज के सबसे निचले पायदान पर जाती है, खासतौर से उन लोगों पर जो सबसे गरीब, और पिछड़े तबके से आते हैं। अगर नरेंद्र मोदी चाहते तो अपनी पार्टी के किसी बड़े नेता को, अपने किसी दोस्त को, अपने किसी प्रशंसक को राष्ट्रपति बनवा सकते थे, लेकिन उन्होंने एक आदिवासी की तरफ देखा, एक महिला की तरफ देखा। उन्होंने झोपड़ी में रहने वाली द्रौपदी मुर्मू को देश के सबसे बड़े, सबसे आलीशान भवन में पहुंचा दिया। द्रौपदी मुर्मू का जीवन संघर्षों से भरा रहा है, वह हालात के सामने हार न मानने का प्रतीक हैं, जूझने, जीतने और लक्ष्य तक पहुंचने का जीता जागता सबूत हैं। जो लोग महिलाओं को कमजोर समझते हैं, द्रौपदी मुर्मू उनके लिए जबाव हैं।

तीसरी बात यह कि नरेंद्र मोदी ने एक ऐसे उम्मीदवार को चुना, जिसको सपोर्ट और विरोध करने के नाम पर विरोधी दल बंट गए। एक गरीब आदिवासी महिला का विरोध करने की हिम्मत न तो हेमंत सोरेन कर सके, और न उद्धव ठाकरे। जिस-जिस विधायक या सांसद की सीट पर बड़ी संख्या में आदिवासी हैं, उनको द्रौपदी मुर्मू को वोट देने के लिए मजबूर होना पड़ा।

चौथी बात यह कि आने वाले दिनों के लिए नरेंद्र मोदी ने पूरे देश को ये संदेश दिया है कि मोदी और बीजेपी देश के आदिवासियों का सम्मान करते हैं। गरीब और पिछड़े वर्ग की महिलाओं के लिए उनके दिल में सम्मान है।

द्रौपदी मुर्मू के जरिए यह संदेश देश के हर गरीब, हर पिछड़े, हर आदिवासी तक बड़ी आसानी से पहुंचेगा। यह नरेंद्र मोदी के विचार, विश्वास और राजनीति की एक बड़ी जीत है, जो अगले 5 साल तक राष्ट्रपति भवन में सुशोभित दिखाई देगी।

It was a proud moment for India on Thursday, when Droupadi Murmu was elected the 15th President of India. She is the first Adivasi woman to be elected to the highest Constitutional post. Murmu will be sworn in as President on Monday, July 25.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in congratulating NDA nominee after her election by a margin of 947 votes. Modi wrote on Twitter: “India scripts history. At a time when 1.3 billion Indians are marking Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a daughter hailing from a tribal community born in a remote part of eastern India has been elected our President!… Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji’s life, her early struggles, her rich service and her exemplary success motivates each and every Indian. She has emerged as a ray of hope for our citizens, especially the poor, marginalised and the downtrodden.”

Modi displayed his special touch for the President-elect, when after coming out of her residence, Murmu came to the door to bid him farewell. The Prime Minister had a photo-op with her in the portico, and he stood there till the time Murmu went inside, and he then sat in his car.

Murmu bagged 64.03 per cent of the electoral college votes, while her contender Yashwant Sinha got 35.97 per cent votes. Murmu got votes from 540 MPs and 2,284 MLAs. She received 100 per cent votes from Nagaland, Sikkim and Andhra Pradesh. 126 MLAs and 17 MPs across 18 states, in a massive crossvoting, cast their votes for Murmu. In Parliament, 208 MPs voted for Yashwant Sinha.

BJP President J P Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Dharmendra Pradhan went to Murmu’s residence to congratulate her on being elected President. Her victory was a foregone conclusion, given the wide support that she got from non-NDA parties like Biju Janata Dal, Shiv Sena, JMM and YSR Congress.

Yashwant Sinha got support from Congress, TMC, NCP, RJD, Samajwadi Party, National Conference and Left parties. Several legislators from Congress and NCP also cross-voted for Murmu. 53 votes were found invalid. Before the polling, Yashwant Sinha had appealed to all MPs and MLAs to hear their inner voice of conscience and vote. The opposite happened. Several MPs and MLAs from the opposition camp heard their inner voice of conscience and voted for Murmu.

There were celebrations in Murmu’s home district of Mayurbhanj, particularly in Rairangpur, in Odisha, where people danced in jubilation. Murmu’s family is planning to come to Delhi to attend the oath taking ceremony. Her brother Tarinisen Tudu said, he would go to Delhi to seek blessings from his elder sister. There were also celebrations by tribals in different parts of India.

If one analyses the pattern of cross-voting, one can find that more than 100 non-NDA MPs stepped out of their party line and voted for Murmu, while as many as 104 non-NDA MLAs from 12 states also voted for her. The largest number of cross-voting took place in Assam, where 22 MLAs cross-voted for Murmu. This was followed by 19 MLAs in Madhya Pradesh, 16 in Maharashtra, 10 each in Jharkhand and Gujarat, seven in Meghalaya, six each in Chhattisgarh and Bihar, four in Goa, two in HP, and one each in Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh. All these MLAs deviated from their party line and voted for the NDA nominee.

BJP-led NDA already had the numbers to get its candidate elected, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi played a big bet. He chose an Adivasi woman as the candidate for India’s highest post. Droupadi Murmu, apart from being a tribal, had been working for the Adivasis and downtrodden since several decades, had a long political background, and her image was clean.

This is the first time since Independence that an Adivasi will occupy the highest post of the land. Already, BJP has chalked out plans for celebrating Murmu’s election as President in 1,30,000 villages spread in more than 100 Adivasi-dominated districts. Her election may also have a big impact on women voters.

In Murmu’s home state of Odisha, and adjoining Jharkhand, and also in north-east states, people from scheduled tribes are present in large numbers. BJP will try to spread its support base among tribal communities. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP had performed well in tribal-dominated areas of Odisha, and would now seek to perform well in the 2024 Odisha assembly elections.

This plan is not only confined to Odisha. There are 1,495 state assembly seats and 47 Lok Sabha seats which are reserved for scheduled tribes. There are 27 ST reserved seats in Gujarat, 25 each in Rajasthan and Maharashtra, 47 in MP, 29 in Jharkhand and 33 in Odisha, where tribals decide who will win.

In Gujarat, BJP has won only nine out of the 27 tribal-dominated districts. Gujarat will be going to polls later this year. Similarly, BJP has won only 8 out of 25 scheduled tribe reserved seats in Rajasthan, two out of 29 in Chhattisgarh, and 16 out of 47 reserved seats in MP. The party now intends to sweep all the reserved ST seats. With Droupadi Murmu as the first tribal President, BJP plans to spread the message that it is working for the betterment of tribals.

There is a clear message that emerges from Droupadi Murmu’s election as President. Firstly, Murmu’s election conveys the message to the poor and tribals that anybody from among them can aspire and strive to reach the highest seat of the land. One must have the will and fervour to serve this nation and its people, and this land is definitely going to accord respect to them.

Secondly, whenever Narendra Modi thinks about selecting people for the highest post, he always gives preference to those in the lowest rungs of society, particularly those who come from poor and backward classes. Had Modi wanted, he could have chosen any big-time party leader or his friend or his admirer, but he preferred to choose an Adivasi, a woman who rose from a poor tribal background to make her mark in politics and governance. Droupadi Murmu’s life is a saga of struggles, her firmness not to bow down in the face of challenges, her keenness to fight and reach her objectives. Those who think that women are weak, must go through Murmu’s life struggles.

Thirdly, Modi selected a candidate who got support from across the political spectrum. It put the façade of unity among opposition parties in disarray. Many of these parties were morally forced to extend support to Murmu. Leaders like Hemant Soren and Uddhav Thackeray were forced to extend support to an Adivasi woman standing for President. MPs who had a large number of tribals in their constituencies, could not ignore the fact that a tribal woman is contesting for the post of President.

Fourthly, Modi and BJP have showed that they have respect for Adivasis, and also for women from poor and backward classes.

With Droupadi Murmu as President, this message will easily reach the hearts of every poor person from backward and tribal communities. To sum up, Murmu’s election is a victory of Narendra Modi’s thoughts, beliefs and politics, and the winner will sit inside Rashtrapati Bhavan for the next five years.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने बुधवार को आल्ट न्यूज के सह-संस्थापक मोहम्मद जुबैर को उत्तर प्रदेश और अन्य जगहों पर दर्ज सभी मामलों में अंतरिम जमानत दे दी। साथ ही यूपी में दर्ज FIRs को जांच के लिए दिल्ली पुलिस की स्पेशल सेल को ट्रांसफर कर दिया। शीर्ष अदालत ने यह भी निर्देश दिया कि यूपी पुलिस द्वारा गठित SIT को भंग कर दिया जाए। बेंच ने मोहम्मद जुबैर को ट्वीट करने से रोकने की याचिका को भी खारिज कर दिया।

मोहम्मद जुबैर को दिल्ली पुलिस ने 27 जून को गिरफ्तार किया था। वह सोशल मीडिया के जरिए अपने ट्वीट्स से नफरत फैलाने और सांप्रदायिक तनाव पैदा करने के आरोप में 23 दिनों तक जेल में था। जुबैर के खिलाफ यूपी में 6 FIRs दर्ज की गईं थीं। ये FIRs गाजियाबाद, मुजफ्फरनगर, लखीमपुर खीरी, सीतापुर और 2 हाथरस में दर्ज की गईं। जुबैर को 20 हजार रुपये के निजी मुचलके पर बुधवार रात तिहाड़ जेल से रिहा कर दिया गया।

जस्टिस डी वाई चंद्रचूड़, सूर्यकांत और ए. एस बोपन्ना की पीठ ने कहा, चूंकि उत्तर प्रदेश में दर्ज अधिकांश FIRs के कंटेंट जुबैर के ट्वीट पर आधारित है, और चूंकि दिल्ली पुलिस की स्पेशल सेल कथित विदेशी फंडिंग के आरोपों सहित उसके अधिकांश ट्वीट्स की व्यापक जांच कर रही है, उसे अलग-अलग FIRs में उलझाए रखना न्यायोचित नहीं होगा।

यूपी सरकार की अतिरिक्त महाधिवक्ता गरिमा प्रसाद ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट से जुबैर को भविष्य में आपत्तिजनक ट्वीट पोस्ट करने से रोकने का अनुरोध किया, लेकिन बेंच ने उनके अनुरोध को खारिज करते हुए कहा, ‘एक पत्रकार को ट्वीट करने और लिखने से कैसे रोका जा सकता है? यह ऐसा ही जैसे एक वकील से कहा जाए कि वह बहस न करे। अगर वह ट्वीट कर किसी कानून का उल्लंघन करता है तो उस पर कानून के मुताबिक कार्रवाई की जा सकती है। हर नागरिक सार्वजनिक रूप से जो कहता है उसके लिए जवाबदेह होता है। हम इस तरह की कोई पाबंदी नहीं लगाएंगे। हम यह नहीं कह सकते कि वह दोबारा ट्वीट नहीं करेगा।’

जुबैर को अंतरिम जमानत देते हुए बेंच ने कहा, ‘याचिकाकर्ता के खिलाफ आरोपों की गंभीरता उसके द्वारा किए गए ट्वीट से संबंधित है। रिकॉर्ड से पता चला है कि दिल्ली पुलिस द्वारा याचिकाकर्ता को निरंतर जांच के अधीन रखा गया है, हमें याचिकाकर्ता को उसकी स्वतंत्रता से और अधिक वंचित रखने का कोई कारण या औचित्य नजर नहीं आता।’
अदालत ने आगे कहा, ‘यह कानून का एक स्थापित सिद्धांत है कि गिरफ्तारी की शक्ति के अस्तित्व को गिरफ्तारी की कवायद से अलग रखा जाना चाहिए और गिरफ्तारी की शक्ति का इस्तेमाल संयम के साथ किया जाना चाहिए।’
इससे पहले यूपी सरकार की अतिरिक्त महाधिवक्ता ने बेंच को बताया कि जुबैर ने मुसलमानों में सांप्रदायिक भावनाओं को भड़काने के लिए जानबूझकर अपने ट्वीट में हेरफेर किया। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि जुबैर को उसके ट्वीट के असर के आधार पर पैसे दिए गए। उन्होंने कहा, जुबैर सांप्रदायिक भावनाओं को भड़काने के लिए बयानों के साथ पुराने वीडियो पोस्ट करता था। शुक्रवार को मस्जिदों में उसके ट्वीट पर्चे पर छापकर मुसलमानों के बीच बांटे गए और इससे सांप्रदायिक तनाव पैदा हुआ।

गरिमा प्रसाद ने कोर्ट को यह भी बताया कि जुबैर ने खुद कबूल किया है कि उसकी कंपनी को विदेशी स्रोतों से 2 करोड़ रुपये मिले थे, जिसमें से 12 लाख रुपये आपत्तिजनक ट्वीट पोस्ट करने के लिए मिले। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि जुबैर ने नूपुर शर्मा के टीवी कमेंट को काट-छांट कर सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल किया, उन वीडियो को इंटरनेशनल मीडिया तक पहुंचाया। वकील ने आरोप लगाया कि उसके कई ट्वीट निराधार, फर्जी तस्वीरों और वीडियो पर आधारित थे, जिनकी वजह से यूपी के कई शहरों में सांप्रदायिक तनाव पैदा हो गया और दंगे के हालात बन गए। यूपी सरकार की वकील ने ऐसे सभी ट्वीट, फोटो और वीडियो को सबूत के तौर पर बेंच के सामने रखा।

असल मुद्दे पर आते हुए गरिमा प्रसाद ने कहा, नूपुर शर्मा ने 26 मई को एक टीवी डिबेट में हिस्सा लिया था। उन्होंने इस्लाम के पैगंबर मुहम्मद साहब के बारे में गलत और गैरजरूरी कमेंट किया। अगले चौबीस घंटे तक किसी ने नूपुर की बात का नोटिस नहीं लिया, और बात आई गई हो गई, लेकिन फिर 27 मई को मुहम्मद ज़ुबैर ने उस टीवी डिबेट के एक हिस्से को काट-छांट कर सोशल मीडिया पर पोस्ट कर दिया। इस पोस्ट के साथ बहुत सारे लोगों को टैग किया, रीट्वीट किया। चूंकि जुबैर के ट्विटर पर, दूसरे सोशल मीडिया प्लेटफॉर्म पर लाखों फॉलोअर हैं इसलिए नूपुर शर्मा से रिलेटेड उसके ट्वीट बहुत जल्दी वायरल हो गए।

गरिमा प्रासद ने दावा किया कि जुबैर और उसके साथी यहीं नहीं रूके। उन्होंने इंटरनेशनल मीडिया और अरब देशों के प्रभावशाली ट्विटर हैंडल्स को टैग करके नूपुर शर्मा का वीडियो पोस्ट किया जिससे दुनिया भर में, खास तौर से अरब देशों में माहौल बना। गरिमा प्रसाद ने एक और बेहद चौंकाने वाली बात कोर्ट को बताई। उन्होंने कहा कि जुबैर ने सिर्फ इंटरनेशनल लेवल पर इस मुद्दे को हवा नहीं दी, चूंकि नुपुर शर्मा के बयान की आलोचना हो रही थी, दूसरे देश इस मुद्दे पर बोल रहे थे, लेकिन हमारे देश में शान्ति थी और इससे जुबैर परेशान था।

उन्होंने कहा कि इसके बाद 5 और 6 जून को जुबैर ने ट्विटर पर लिखा कि नूपुर शर्मा के बयान के खिलाफ दुनिया भर से आवाज उठ रही है, लेकिन भारत के मुसलमान खामोश हैं। यूपी सरकार की वकील ने कहा कि जुबैर के इस तरह के ट्वीट के बाद ही नूपुर शर्मा के बयान पर जुबैर के ट्वीट को कई मस्जिदों में पैम्फलेट बनाकर बांटा गया। इसका असर ये हुआ कि 10 जून को यूपी के कई शहरों में दंगे हुए और सांप्रदायिक तनाव बढ़ा।

गरिमा प्रसाद ने जो बातें जुबैर के बारे में कहीं, इसी तरह की बात 27 जून को जुबैर को गिरफ्तार करने के बाद, दिल्ली पुलिस की IFSO यूनिट के हेड DCP केपीएस मल्होत्रा ने कही थी। केपीएस मलहोत्रा ने कहा था कि ज़ुबैर अपनी हरकतों से माहौल बिगाड़ने का काम कर रहा था।

हालांकि यूपी सरकार की वकील गरिमा प्रसाद ने मुहम्मद जुबैर के बारे में सुप्रीम कोर्ट को जो बताया, उसका जुबैर की वकील वृंदा ग्रोवर ने जमकर विरोध किया। वृंदा ग्रोवर ने दावा किया कि जुबैर ने माहौल नहीं बिगाड़ा, उसने देश के खिलाफ, सरकार के विरुद्ध कोई साजिश नहीं की, वह तो पत्रकार की हैसियत से अपना काम कर रहा था। लेकिन यूपी सरकार की वकील ने कहा कि जुबैर अहमद कोई पत्रकार नहीं, वह एक फैक्ट चेकर है जो फैक्ट चेक करने के नाम पर सोशल मीडिया पर नफरत फैलाने का काम करता है।

मैंने भी जुबैर के ट्विटर एकाउंट की टाइमलाइन को खंगाला। यह बात बिल्कुल सही है कि जुबैर ने सबसे पहले 27 मई 2022 को नूपुर शर्मा की टीवी डिबेट की क्लिप ट्वीट की थी। उसने नूपुर शर्मा पर अनाप-शनाप बातें करने, पैगंबर का अपमान करने के आरोप लगाए थे। नूपुर शर्मा ने इसके जवाब में ट्वीट किया और जुबैर से कहा कि वह पूरी डिबेट की क्लिप डाले, न कि वीडियो को काट-छांटकर पेश करे।

नूपुर ने इस ट्वीट में दिल्ली पुलिस को भी टैग किया था। नूपुर शर्मा के ट्वीट के जवाब में जुबैर ने फिर ट्वीट करके दिल्ली पुलिस से नूपुर के खिलाफ FIR दर्ज करने की मांग की। जुबैर के इस ट्वीट के कुछ घंटों के भीतर ही नूपुर शर्मा को जान से मारने की धमकियां मिलने लगी थीं। नूपुर ने ट्विटर पर ज़ुबैर को टैग करके इसकी शिकायत भी की और खुद को धमकी देने वाले ट्वीट्स के स्क्रीनशॉट भी शेयर किए।

इसके बाद ज़ुबैर ने 5 और 6 जून को अरब देशों में भारतीय प्रोडक्ट के बायकॉट की खबरें ट्विटर हैंडल से शेयर कीं। उसने दावा किया कि कई देशों के स्टोर से भारत के सामान हटा लिए गए हैं। उसके बाद जब भी किसी मुस्लिम देश ने नूपुर शर्मा के कॉमेंट्स पर बयान दिया, प्रेस रिलीज जारी की तो जुबैर ने उसे ट्विटर पर शेयर किया और बताया कि यह सब ऑल्ट न्यूज यानी कि उसके ऑर्गेनाइजेशन की कोशिशों का ही नतीजा है।

गरिमा प्रसाद की यह बात भी सही है कि जुबैर के ट्वीट के बाद माहौल खराब हुआ और प्रयागराज, मुरादाबाद, कानपुर, रांची और सहारनपुर में जुमे की नमाज के बाद हिंसा हुई, दंगे हुए। कई शहरों में ‘सिर तन से जुदा’ के नारे लगे।

गरिमा प्रसाद ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट को यह भी बताया कि जुबैर के संस्थान ऑल्ट न्यूज पर विदेशी फंडिंग लेने के आरोप हैं। इसी वजह से नूपुर शर्मा के बयान से जुड़े विवाद को उसने इंटरनेशनल लेवल पर प्रचारित किया। ब्रिटिश अखबार इंडिपेंडेंट ऑनलाइन ने लिखा था कि नूपुर के बयान को सबसे पहले जुबैर अहमद ने ही मुद्दा बनाया था।

एक ट्विटर यूजर हॉक आई ने बताया था कि किस तरह 3 जून को ट्विटर पर एंटी इंडिया प्रोपेगैंडा की शुरुआत हुई। पाकिस्तान के कुछ ट्विटर हैंडल्स ने नूपुर शर्मा के बयान को मुद्दा बनाकर, पूरी दुनिया में भारत विरोधी माहौल बनाया, बायकॉट इंडियन प्रोडक्ट को ट्रेंड कराया। भारत विरोधी इन ट्वीट्स में प्रधानमंत्री मोदी की तस्वीरों का इस्तेमाल किया गया था।

हॉक आई नाम के इस ट्विटर हैंडल ने लिखा था कि ट्विटर पर यह एंटी इंडिया कैंपेन किसी ऐसे प्रोफेशनल का काम है जो भारत की खबरों पर बारीक नजर रखता है, जिससे 5 जून तक यह ट्विटर पर जबरदस्त ट्रेंड करने लगा था। जुबैर ने तो साउथ एशियन इंडेक्स के बायकॉट इंडियन प्रोडक्ट वाला एक ट्वीट शेयर भी किया था।

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मुहम्मद ज़ुबैर को जमानत जरूर दे दी है, लेकिन उस पर लगे आरोपों को गलत नहीं ठहराया है, न ही देश की सबसे बड़ी अदालत ने ज़ुबैर पर दर्ज केस रद्द किए हैं। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने उसके सारे केस दिल्ली ट्रांसफर कर दिए हैं, जिनकी जांच अब दिल्ली पुलिस करेगी।

अब सवाल यह है कि क्या मोहम्मद जुबैर को इसलिए जेल में डाला गया कि वह सरकार के खिलाफ लिखता था? क्या उसे इसलिए सलाखों के पीछे रहना पड़ा क्योंकि वह बीजेपी के विचारधारा के खिलाफ है? उसके खिलाफ लिखी गई FIR’s में, पुलिस की रिपोर्ट्स में, कोर्ट के सामने दी गई दलीलों में यह बात कहीं नहीं है।

मोहम्मद जुबैर पर आरोप तो ये हैं कि उसने नूपुर शर्मा के बयान को इश्यू बनाया, प्लानिंग करके फैलाया और लोगों की भावनाओं को भड़काया। उसने लोगों से उकसाया था कि वे प्रदर्शन करने आगे क्यों नहीं आ रहे। लेकिन तो भी अगर एक ही अपराध के लिए अलग-अलग FIR दर्ज की गई हैं तो यह ज्यादती है, इन्हें एक साथ जोड़ा जाना चाहिए। जब इल्जाम एक है तो अलग-अलग जांच और अलग-अलग केस का कोई औचित्य नहीं है।

जहां तक अपनी राय रखने की आजादी का सवाल है, वह मोहम्मद जुबैर का हक़ है, और वह हक़ उतना ही है जितना किसी और नागरिक का। लेकिन अगर कोई इस आजादी का इस्तेमाल लोगों की भावनाओं को भड़काने के लिए करे तो संविधान इसकी इजाज़त नहीं देता। मैं अभिव्यक्ति की आजादी का पक्षधर हूं, मैंने बोलने और लिखने की आजादी के लिए जेल काटी है। इमरजेंसी के जमाने में मैं अडंरग्राउंड अखबार निकालते हुए पकड़ा गया था। लेकिन आज़ादी के साथ-साथ ज़िम्मेदारी भी होनी चाहिए।

नुपुर शर्मा ने पैगंबर साहब के बारे में जो कहा, वह गलत था, गैरज़रूरी था। उसकी निंदा होनी चाहिए थी और हो रही है। लेकिन यह भी सच है कि वह एक घंटे की डिबेट में 20-30 सेंकेन्ड का हिस्सा था। अगर मोहम्मद जुबैर उस क्लिप को जानबूझकर सोशल मीडिया पर पोस्ट न करता, उस क्लिप को इस तरह से वायरल न करता तो शायद समाज में इतना तनाव पैदा न होता।

अगर जुबैर ने यह काम अनजाने में किया होता तो इसे गलती मान कर नज़रअंदाज़ किया जा सकता था। लेकिन इल्जाम तो यही है कि जुबैर ने सोच-समझकर, भड़काने की नीयत से ही वह क्लिप वायरल की। इसलिए इस मामले की जांच तो होनी चाहिए। अब मामला अदालत में है, जांच के बाद सारे तथ्य सामने आएंगे और अदालत फैसला करेगी।

The Supreme Court on Wednesday granted interim bail to AltNews co-founder Mohammed Zubair in all FIRs filed in UP and elsewhere, and transferred the FIRs filed in UP to the Special Cell of Delhi Police for probe. The apex court also directed that the Special Investigation Team set up by UP Police be disbanded. The bench also refused a plea to restrain Mohammed Zubair from tweeting.

Mohammed Zubair was arrested by Delhi Police on June 27. He was in jail for 23 days on charges of spreading hate and creating communal tension because of his tweets through social media. There were six FIRs filed against Zubair in UP. These FIRs were filed in Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, and two in Hathras. He was released from Tihar jail on Wednesday night after furnishing a personal bail bond of Rs 20,000.

A bench of Justices D. Y. Chandrachud, Surya Kant and A S Bopanna said, since the content of most of the FIRs filed in Uttar Pradesh were based on Zubair’s tweets, and since the Special Cell of Delhi Police is conducting a comprehensive probe into most of his tweets, including the charge of alleged foreign funding, it would not be in the interest of justice to keep him embroiled in separate FIRs.

Additional Advocate General of UP government Garima Prasad requested the apex court to restrain Zubair from posting offensive tweets in future, but the bench rejected the request and said, “How can we restrain a journalist, or anyone for that matter, from tweeting? It is like asking a lawyer not to argue. If he posts tweets in violation of law, he would be answerable for it. Every citizen is answerable for what he says in public. We will not place any restraint of this nature. We can’t say that he will not tweet again”.

While granting interim bail to Zubair, the bench said, “Essentially gravamen of allegations against the petitioner are the tweets posted by him. Having found from the record that the petitioner has been subjected to a very sustained investigation by Delhi Police, we find no reason or justification for deprivation of the liberty of the petitioner to persist any futher.”

The court further said, “It is a settled principle of law that the existence of power of arrest shall be distinguished from the exercise of the power of arrest. The exercise of power of arrest must be pursued sparingly”.

Earlier, the Additional Advocate General of UP government told the bench that Zubair deliberately manipulated his tweets in order to incite communal passions among Muslims. She alleged that Zubair was given graded payments depending on the severity of his tweets. She said, Zubair used to post old videos with comments meant to incite communal feelings. His tweets were printed and distributed among Muslims on Friday in mosques, and this led to communal tension.

Garima Prasad also pointed out that Zubair has himself confessed that his company received Rs 2 crore from foreign sources, out of which he got Rs 12 lakhs for posting offensive tweets. She alleged that Zubair used to chop and edit Nupur Sharma’s comments made on television and made them viral on social media. These ultimately reached international media, defaming India. She alleged that many of his tweets were based on baseless, fake pictures and videos, and by circulating them, communal tension rose in several cities of UP creating riot-like situation. The UP government counsel placed all such tweets, photos and videos as evidence before the bench.

Coming to the core issue, Garima Prasad said, Nupur Sharma had taken part in a TV debate on May 26, where she made some unnecessary and unjustified remarks against Prophet Mohammed. Nobody took notice of her remarks for the next 24 hours, she said, and the matter went unnoticed, but on May 27, Zubair chopped and edited the remarks made by Nupur Sharma in the TV debate and posted the videos on social media, tagging many people, who retweeted them. Since there were lakhs of followers both on Zubair’s Twitter handle and other social media platforms, Nupur Sharma’s offensive remarks became quickly viral.

Garima Prasad told the apex court, Zubair and his colleagues did not stop there. They tagged several influential Twitter handles in Arab countries and international media, and forwarded Nupur Sharma’s remarks, thereby creating anti-India atmosphere in the Gulf countries. She alleged that despite Zubair and his friends’ efforts on international level, there was not much reaction in India.

However, on June 6, she said, Zubair wrote on Twitter that on one hand the world is raising its voice against Nupur Sharma’s remarks but Muslims in India are silent. The Additional Advocate General told the court that soon after this, pamphlets carrying Zubair’s tweets were distributed in several mosques of UP, and this resulted in communal violence and tension in several cities of UP on June 10.

Most of the points that Garima Prasad made in the apex court were revealed earlier by the DCP in charge of Delhi Police IFSO unit K.P.S. Malhotra, who had alleged that Zubair was trying to create communal tension.

Mohammed Zubair’s counsel Vrinda Gover denied all these allegations in the apex court. She said, Zubair was not part of any anti-India conspiracy as was being alleged, and he was only discharging his responsibilities as a journalist. The UP govt counsel pointed out that Zubair was not a journalist, but a ‘fact-checker’, who was spreading hate on social media.

I have checked Zubair’s Twitter account timeline. It is a fact that Zubair had tweeted a clip of Nupur Sharma’s remarks in a TV debate on May 27, and he had made snide comments against her and had alleged that she had insulted Prophet Mohammed. Nupur Sharma replied back in her tweet and challenged him to post the entire debate on his Twitter handle, instead of chopping and editing most of the portions.

Nupur had then tagged Delhi Police in her tweet. In reply, Zubair tagged Delhi Police and requested that an FIR be filed against Nupur for making blasphemous remarks against the Prophet. Soon after Zubair’s tweet, Nupur Sharma started getting threatening calls. Nupur had then complained to police by tagging Zubair. She even shared screenshots of the threatening tweets.

On June 5 and 6, Zubair shared unverified news reports about ‘boycott of Indian products’ in Arab countries on his Twitter handle. It was alleged that Indian products were being removed from the shelves of departmental stores in Gulf countries. Zubair then started sharing all comments made by people in Muslim countries against Nupur Sharma, and claimed that this was due to the efforts of his fact-checking company AltNews.

Garima Prasad’s argument that Zubair’s tweets led to communal tension and violence after namaaz prayers in Prayagraj, Moradabad, Kanpur, Ranchi and Saharanpur, is true. There were slogans of ‘sar tan se juda’(beheading) in several cities.

As far as the international repercussions are concerned, Garima Prasad told the apex court that AltNews got foreign funding and it gave an international twist to Nupur Sharma’s remarks. According to the British media house, Independent Online, it was Zubair who first made Nupur Sharma’s remarks an issue.

A Twitter watcher, The Hawk Eye disclosed how anti-India propaganda began on Twitter on June. Some Twitter handles from Pakistan made Nupur Sharma’s remarks an issue, and ‘boycott Indian products’ was trending on social media. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pictures were used in these anti-India tweets.

The Hawk Eye reported that this seemed to be the work of a professional, because, by June 5, anti-India tweets were trending massively. Zubair even shared a Pakistani twitter handle South Asian Index which had tweeted that Indian products were being taken off the shopping centre shelves in Gulf countries.

The Supreme Court has given interim bail to Zubair, but one must note that it has not dismissed allegations made against him. The apex court has only transferred all cases to Delhi, and now, Delhi Police will take up the probe.

The question is: Was Mohammed Zubair arrested because he was writing against the government or he was against BJP ideology? In none of the FIRs or police reports, nor in any argument, was such allegation made.

The charge against Zubair is that he made Nupur Sharma’s remarks made during a heated TV debate a controversial issue. He spread her remarks among people, both in India and abroad, and incited communal feelings. He was inciting people by asking why they were not coming out to protest against these blasphemous remarks. If FIRs are filed for a similar offence, they should be clubbed together. There is no justification for conducting separate probes.

As far as the right to freedom of expression is concerned, Mohammed Zubair has got the right, and the same right is available to all citizens. But if somebody misuses this right to incite communal passions, our Constitution does not allow it. I am in favour of the fundamental right of freedom of speech and expression. In order to protect this right to speak and write freely, I even went to jail, when I was arrested during Emergency in 1975 for publishing an underground newspaper. But, along with the right, comes duties.

Whatever Nupur Sharma said against Prophet Mohammed was unjustified and unnecessary. This needs to be condemned and is still being condemned. But the truth is, a 20 to 30 second portion of an one-hour-long TV debate was circulated on social media causing communal tension. Had Zubair refrained from posting this explosive clip on social media, and not made it viral, there would not have been communal tension.

If Zubair committed this act in haste, without exercising proper judgement, that his mistake could have been ignored. But the charge is that Zubair deliberately made this video clip viral, with a clear intention to incite communal passions. Hence, this matter must be probed thoroughly. The matter is now in court, and once the facts are brought to light, the court will decide.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने जिस दिन बीजेपी की पूर्व प्रवक्ता नूपुर शर्मा की गिरफ्तारी पर 10 अगस्त तक रोक लगा दी, उसी दिन बिहार और राजस्थान से खबरें आईं कि किस तरह पैगंबर मोहम्मद के खिलाफ बयान देने के लिए उन्हें जान से मारने की साजिशें रची गई ।

जस्टिस सूर्यकांत और जस्टिस जेबी पारदीवाला की सुप्रीम कोर्ट की बेंच ने इस बार अपना रुख नरम करते हुए माना कि कट्टरपंथी जिहादी तत्वों से नूपुर शर्मा की जान को खतरा है। जस्टिस सूर्यकांत और जस्टिस पारदीवाला ने ही 1 जुलाई को नूपुर शर्मा को राहत देने से इनकार कर दिया था और 6 राज्यों में दर्ज 9 FIRs को रद्द करने के लिए हाई कोर्ट का दरवाजा खटखटाने के लिए कहा था।

बेंच ने कहा, ‘याचिकाकर्ता (नूपुर शर्मा) का कहना है कि इस अदालत ने (एक जुलाई को) जो वैकल्पिक उपाय सुझाए थे, उसका पालन करना उनके लिए अब तकरीबन नामुमकिन हो गया है, इसलिए संविधान के अनुच्छेद 21 के तहत जो गारंटी दी गई है, उसके तबत उनके जीवन और स्वतंत्रता की रक्षा के लिए कोर्ट की तरफ से हस्तक्षेप करने की तात्कालिक ज़रूरत है। बहरहाल, एक अंतरिम उपाय के रूप में यह निर्देश दिया जाता है कि 26 मई 2022 को प्रसारित उनकी टिप्पणियों को लेकर जितनी एफआईआर या शिकायतें अब तक दर्ज हुई है या आगे होने वाली है, उन पर याचिकाकर्ता के खिलाफ कोई दंडात्मक कार्रवाई नहीं होगी।’

बेंच ने मंगलवार को कहा: ‘हम कभी नहीं चाहते थे कि आप हर अदालत में जाएं।’ शीर्ष अदालत ने FIRs को एक साथ जोड़ने के मामले में केंद्र, दिल्ली, पश्चिम बंगाल, तेलंगाना और महाराष्ट्र सहित कई राज्यों को नोटिस जारी किया। बेंच ने कहा कि उसके 1 जुलाई के आदेश के बाद अजमेर दरगाह के ‘खादिम’ सलमान चिश्ती ने सर कलम कराने की अपील करते हुए धमकी दी, और यूपी में एक दूसरे शख्स ने भी सिर कलम करने के लिए कहा था।

नूपुर शर्मा के वकील वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता मनिंदर सिंह ने अदालत को बताया कि नूपुर की जान को खतरा था, क्योंकि 2 जुलाई को कोलकाता पुलिस ने उनके खिलाफ लुकआउट सर्कुलर जारी कर दिया था। उन्होंने अदालत को बताया कि अगर वह बंगाल जातीं, जहां उनके खिलाफ 2 FIR दर्ज हैं, तो उनकी गिरफ्तारी हो सकती थीं। मनिंदर सिंह ने अदालत को बताया कि सभी FIRs 26 मई को एक टीवी डिबेट के दौरान दिए गए एक बयान पर आधारित हैं, जहां उन्होंने एक हिंदू देवता के खिलाफ एक मुस्लिम मौलाना की गालियों का जवाब देते समय पैगंबर मोहम्मद के खिलाफ टिप्पणी की थी।

नूपुर शर्मा के खिलाफ दर्ज सभी 9 FIRs में एक ही तारीख को किए गए एक ही अपराध का जिक्र है। इन FIR में जो धाराएं लगाई गई हैं वे भी लगभग एक जैसी ही हैं। इसलिए इन सभी FIRs को एक साथ जोड़ने में कोई दिक्कत नहीं होनी चाहिए। इसके अलावा नूपुर शर्मा को बलात्कार और मौत की जो धमकी दी गई है, उसकी वजह से उनका कहीं भी यात्रा करना खतरे से खाली नहीं है। मुझे खुशी है कि सुप्रीम कोर्ट को भी यह अहसास हुआ कि नूपुर की जान को कितना खतरा है।

मैं मानता हूं कि नूपुर शर्मा ने पैगंबर मोहम्मद के खिलाफ जो बयान दिया था वह सही नहीं था। किसी भी धर्म की भावनाओं को आहत करना गलत है, लेकिन यह जुर्म है या नहीं इसका फैसला अदालत को करना है। किसी भी अपराध की क्या सजा होगी इसका फैसला भी अदालत को करना है। कोई और यह तय नहीं कर सकता कि जुर्म क्या है और सजा क्या होगी। लेकिन हमारे देश में मौजूद कट्टरपंथी लोग और विदेशों में बैठे जेहादी भी नूपुर शर्मा की जान लेना चाहते हैं। वे कानून अपने हाथ में लेकर अपने हिसाब से सजा देना चाहते हैं। नूपुर की जान को वाकई गंभीर खतरा है।

मंगलवार की रात अपने प्राइम टाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में हमने दिखाया कि कैसे बिहार और राजस्थान में नूपुर शर्मा की हत्या की साजिश रची गई। पटना पुलिस ने खुलासा किया कि कट्टरपंथी संगठन पीपुल्स फ्रंट ऑफ इंडिया ने उन्हें मारने की साजिश रची थी। पटना पुलिस के मुताबिक, फुलवारी शरीफ में पूर्व पुलिसकर्मी मास्टरमाइंड जलालुद्दीन के साथ पकड़े गए अतहर परवेज ने अपने मोबाइल फोन पर एक वॉट्सऐप ग्रुप बनाया था, जिसमें नूपुर के पते ठिकाने की जानकारी उनके मोबाइल नंबर के साथ दी गई थी। नूपुर के बारे में यह जानकारी बड़े पैमाने पर PFI के कैडर के बीच सर्कुलेट की गई थी। इस मामले में अरमान मलिक नाम के एक शख्स को भी गिरफ्तार किया गया था। ये सभी इस ग्रुप में थे और आपस में नूपुर शर्मा का फोन नंबर और एड्रेस शेयर कर रहे थे।

पुलिस इस मामले में अभी खुलकर नहीं बोल रही है क्योंकि जांच जारी है। इंडिया टीवी के रिपोर्टर को जानकारी मिली है कि PFI के कैडर को नूपुर के घर के बाहर पहुंचने को कहा जा रहा था। साथ ही उनसे यह भी कहा जा रहा था कि जिसको मौका मिले, जब मौका मिले नूपुर शर्मा को सजा देनी है। फुलवारी शरीफ के ASP ने जांच होने की बात कहकर इस मामले में ज्यादा बोलने से इनकार कर दिया, लेकिन इतना जरूर कहा कि आरोपियों के खिलाफ ठोस सबूत मिले हैं और जांच आगे बढ़ी है। उन्होंने कहा कि पुलिस रिमांड के बाद जब इन आरोपियों को कोर्ट में पेश किया जाएगा तो ठोस सबूत दिए जाएंगे।

इसी बीच बिहार के सीतामढ़ी के नानपुर में एक पान की एक दुकान पर खड़े 23 साल के अंकित कुमार झा को पिछले शुक्रवार 4-5 मुस्लिम लड़कों ने 6 बार चाकू मारा। वहीं, पुलिस ने कहा कि इस केस में कोई सांप्रदायिक ऐंगल नहीं है। दरभंगा के एक अस्पताल में अस्पताल में भर्ती अंकित कुमार झा ने कहा कि वह पान की दुकान के पास था और वॉट्सऐप पर नूपुर शर्मा का एक वीडियो देख रहा था। इसी दौरान हमलावरों ने उससे पूछा कि क्या वह नूपुर का समर्थन करता है। हमलावरों ने उसे गालियां देनी शुरू कर दीं और उनमें से एक ने उसको 6 बार चाकू मारा। अंकित ने कहा कि वह हमलावरों को नहीं जानता लेकिन चाकू मारने वाले शख्स को पहचान सकता है।

अंकित का दावा है कि चाकू से हमला होने के बावजूद उसने आरोपी को पकड़ रखा था लेकिन कुछ ही देर में 25-30 मुस्लिम युवकों की भीड़ आ गई और चाकू से हमला करने वाले लड़के को छुड़ाकर छुड़ाकर ले गई। अंकित को स्थानीय लोगों ने अस्पताल पहुंचाया, जहां ICU में उसका इलाज चल रहा है। अंकित के परिवार वालों का आरोप है कि पुलिस ने जानबूझकर FIR में नूपुर शर्मा का नाम नहीं डाला। अंकित के मीडिया को दिए बयान के बाद पुलिस ने अपना रुख बदल लिया।

सीतामढ़ी जिले के एसपी ने कहा कि अंकित के भाई आशीष कुमार ने अपनी लिखित शिकायत में कहीं भी नूपुर शर्मा के नाम का जिक्र नहीं किया था। उन्होंने कहा कि अंकित का बयान फिर से दर्ज किया जाएगा और 2 आरोपियों को पहले ही गिरफ्तार किया जा चुका है।

आमतौर पर पुलिस का रवैया ऐसा ही होता है, किसी भी क्राइम को हल्का करने की कोशिश होती है और यह ठीक नहीं है। सीतामढ़ी में जिस लड़के को चाकुओं से गोद दिया गया, वह खुद कह रहा है कि नुपुर शर्मा का वीडियो देखने पर विवाद हुआ और इसीलिए उस पर हमला हुआ लेकिन पुलिस इसे नशे के चक्कर में झगड़े का केस बता रही है। इस तरह का व्यवहार पुलिस के प्रति लोगों का भरोसा कम करता है और अपराध करने वालों के हौसला बढ़ता है।

बिहार से एक हजार किलोमीटर से ज्यादा दूर राजस्थान में बीएसएफ ने भारत-पाकिस्तान सीमा पर 24 साल के एक पाकिस्तानी नागरिक रिजवान अख्तर को गिरफ्तार किया है। इस पाकिस्तानी घुसपैठिए को 16 जुलाई की रात राजस्थान के श्रीगंगानगर जिले में हिंदूमलकोट बॉर्डर पोस्ट के पास से गिरफ्तार किया गया था। रिजवान अख्तर ने पूछताछ के दौरान कबूल किया कि वह पैगंबर के खिलाफ बयान देने के लिए नूपुर शर्मा को मारने के मिशन पर था।

गंगानगर के एसपी आनंद शर्मा ने बताया कि रिजवान अख्तर पाकिस्तान के पंजाब प्रांत के बहाउद्दीन जिले के कुठियाल शेखर का रहने वाला था। उसके पास से 2 चाकू मिले हैं जिनमें से एक 11 इंच लंबा है। उसके पास कुछ मजहबी किताबें, भारत का नक्शा, कपड़े, खाना और एक थैला रेत भी थी।

पुलिस के मुताबिक, रिजवान ने कबूल किया कि उसका इरादा पहले अजमेर दरगाह जाने, चादर चढ़ाने और फिर नूपुर शर्मा की जान लेने का था। रिजवान ने पुलिस को बताया कि बहाउद्दीन जिले में मुल्लाओं और उलेमाओं की एक बैठक हुई थी, जहां पैगंबर मोहम्मद के खिलाफ नूपुर शर्मा की के बयान की निंदा की गई और उनकी हत्या के लिए एक ‘फतवा’ जारी किया गया। पुलिस ने बताया कि पाकिस्तानी उलेमा ने भारत में घुसकर नूपुर शर्मा को मारने के लिए उनका ब्रेनवॉश किया था। वह अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा पार करने की कोशिश करते हुए पकड़ा गया। एक स्थानीय अदालत ने उसे 24 जुलाई तक हिरासत में भेज दिया। आईबी, रॉ और मिलिट्री इंटेलिजेंस ऑफिसर्स की एक टीम ने उससे पूछताछ की है।

पाकिस्तानी नागरिक रिजवान की गिरफ्तारी इस बात का सबूत है कि नूपुर की जान के दुश्मन अब मुल्क के भीतर ही नहीं, सरहद के पार भी हैं। ये लोग नूपुर शर्मा को क्यों मारना चाहते हैं, उनको सपोर्ट करने वालों का गला क्यों काटना चाहते हैं, इसका जवाब ढूंढने के लिए कहीं दूर जाने जरूरत नहीं है। ये वे लोग हैं जो खौफ पैदा करना चाहते हैं, इस्लाम के नाम पर डर का एक माहौल बनाना चाहते हैं। मैंने कई इस्लामिक स्कॉलर्स से बात की है। वे कहते हैं कि इस्लाम किसी का कत्ल करने की इजाजत नहीं देता। इस्लाम किसी को नुकसान पहुंचाने, किसी को दर्द पहुंचाने की बात तक नहीं करता। स्कॉलर्स तो दावा करते हैं कि इस्लाम मोहब्बत और भाईचारे का संदेश देता है, लेकिन ग्राउंड पर जो दिखाई दे रहा है वह अलग है।

जिहादी मनसिकता के लोग, कट्टरपंथी सोच वाले मौलाना और PFI जैसे संगठन नूपुर शर्मा के बयान को मुस्लिम भाइयों के दिलों में नफरत भरने का जरिया बना रहे हैं। वे इस्लाम की दुहाई देकर लोगों को भड़काने की साजिश रच रहे हैं। पाकिस्तान के मौलाना नूपुर शर्मा पर हमला के लिए लोगों को उकसा रहे हैं। PFI जैसे जहर फैलाने वाले संगठन उनकी जान के पीछे पड़े हैं।

कौन कब उन पर हमला कर दे, कोई नहीं कह सकता। ऐसे लोगों की पहचान करके उन्हें आइसोलेट करने की जरुरत है, और यह जताने की जरूरत है कि ऐसे लोगों को मुस्लिम समाज से कोई समर्थन नहीं मिलेगा। जिहादी तत्वों के हौसले इतने बढ़ गए हैं कि नूपुर शर्मा को तो छोड़िए, जो उनका सपोर्ट करता है उस पर भी हमला कर देते हैं, उसके खून के प्यासे हो जाते हैं, जैसा कि बिहार के सीतामढ़ी में चाकू मारने की घटना में देखने को मिला।

यहां तक कि राजस्थान से बीजेपी के वरिष्ठ सांसद किरोड़ी लाल मीणा को भी 9 जुलाई को कादिर अली नाम के एक शख्स की तरफ से धमकी भरी चिट्ठी मिली, जिसमें उसने लिखा था कि जो लोग हमारे पैगंबर की शान में गुस्ताखी करेंगे, उनका हश्र कन्हैयालाल जैसा होगा। किरोड़ी लाल मीणा उदयपुर में कन्हैयालाल के परिवार को सांत्वना देने गए थे, और परिवार वालों को अपनी एक महीने की सैलरी देने की भी बात कही थी। उन्होंने कन्हैयालाल के हत्यारों को ‘तालिबानी’ कहा था। मीणा ने इस धमकी के बारे में केंद्र और राजस्थान के सीएम अशोक गहलोत, दोनों को जानकारी दी है।

किरोड़ी लाल मीणा को मिली धमकी इस बात का एक और उदाहरण है कि धर्म के नाम पर कुछ लोग उग्र होते जा रहे हैं। कुछ लोगों में मजहब के नाम पर सहनशीलता खत्म होती जा रही है। क्या कोई सांसद एक बेगुनाह का गला काटने वालों के खिलाफ आवाज भी नहीं उठा सकता? और यह मामला सिर्फ हिंदू और मुसलमान का नहीं है। यह मामला सहिष्णुता का है। इस्लाम तो सहिष्णुता और माफ करने की बात करता है। बेगुनाहों पर हमला करने वालों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई होनी चाहिए।

On a day when the Supreme Court granted protection from any coercive action, including arrest and summons, till August 10, against suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, news came from Bihar and Rajasthan about diabolical plots to kill her for making blasphemous remarks against Prophet Mohammed.

The apex court bench of Justices Surya Kant and J.B. Pardiwala, which had earlier refused relief to Nupur Sharma on July 1 and had asked her to approach the high courts for quashing each of the nine FIRs, filed in six states, softened its stance and admitted that there were threats from extremist elements to her life.

The bench said, “The petitioner (Nupur Sharma) has now pointed out that it has become nearly impossible for her to avail the alternative remedy granted by this court (on July 1) and that there is an imminent necessity for this court to intervene and protect her life and liberty as guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution.” The bench said, “Meanwhile, as an interim measure, it is directed that no coercive action shall be taken against the petitioner pursuant to the impugned FIRs/complaints or FIRs/complaints which may be registered/entertained in the future.”

Stating that it will correct to some extent its earlier ruling on her petition seeking protection from arrest and clubbing of nine FIRs against her, the bench said on Tuesday: “We never wanted you to go to every court.” The apex court issued notices to the centre and the governments of Delhi, Maharashtra, Telangana, UP and West Bengal on the issue of clubbing of FIRs. The bench noted that after its July 1 order, various incidents like threats by an Ajmer dargah ‘khadim’ Salman Chishti who had given a call to behead her, and another man from UP who had given a similar call for beheading, have taken place.

Nupur Sharma’s counsel Senior Advocate Maninder Singh told the court that there were threats to her life, since a lookout circular has been issued against her by Kolkata Police on July 2. He told the court that she faced imminent arrest if she travelled to Bengal, where two FIRs have been lodged. Maninder Singh told the court that all the FIRs are based on her single remark during a TV debate on May 26, where she made the remark against Prophet Mohammed, while replying to a Muslim maulana’s abuses against a Hindu deity.

All the nine FIRs filed against Nupur Sharma mention the same offence committed on the same date. All the IPC sections mentioned in these FIRs are almost the same. Hence, there should be no problem in clubbing all these FIRs. Moreover, the rape and death threats given to Nupur Sharma, has made her travel riskier. I am happy that the apex court realized the enormity of the danger that Nupur Sharma faces to her life.

I agree that the blasphemous remarks that Nupur Sharma made against Prophet Mohammed were not justified. Nobody should hurt the religious sentiments of others. But to decide whether the remarks constituted crime or not, is the responsibility of the judiciary. It is for the courts to decide the quantum of punishment, if any. Nobody can decide the quantum of punishment on his own. But there are extremist and fundamentalist elements in India who want to behead her. They want to take law into their own hands and give her punishment. The threat to Nupur’s life is indeed grave.

In my prime-time show ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ on Tuesday night, we telecasted news about how there were plots to kill Nupur Sharma in Bihar and Rajasthan. Patna Police revealed that the radical outfit People’s Front of India had plotted to kill her. According to Patna Police, Athar Parvez, nabbed with ex-policeman mastermind Jalaluddin in Phulwari Sharif, had created a WhatsApp group on his cellphone, in which Nupur Sharma’s address and phone number had been shared. Nupur’s details were shared through this group to a large number of PFI supporters. A third activist, Arman Malik, was also arrested. He was also part of this group and had Nupur Sharma’s details with him.

Patna Police is unwilling to share details as the investigation is on. India TV reporter has information that one of the PFI activists was asked to reach Nupur’s residence. Activists in this group were being told to ‘give punishment’ to Nupur to whoever gets the first chance to reach close to her. Additional SP of Phulwari Sharif declined to disclose details, but said that more concrete evidences have been collected and the probe is in an advanced stage. He said, police will produce fresh evidence in court after the police remand period is over.

Meanwhile, in a shop at Nanpur in Sitamarhi, Bihar, 23-year-old Ankit Kumar Jha, who was standing at a paan shop, was stabbed six times on Friday last by a group of four to five Muslim youths. While police said, there was no communal angle to the case, Ankit Kumar Jha, hospitalized in a hospital in Darbhanga, said, he was watching a video of Nupur Sharma on WhatsApp at the paan shop, when the assailants demanded to know whether he supported her. They started abusing him and one of them stabbed him six times. He said, he did not know the assailants, but can identify the person who stabbed him with the knife.

Ankit said, he caught hold of the assailant even after being stabbed, but a crowd of 25 to 30 Muslim youths came and took away the assailant with them. Ankit was taken by local people to hospital, where he is undergoing treatment in the ICU. Ankit’s family members alleged that police deliberately refrained from mentioning Nupur Sharma’s name in the FIR. After Ankit’s statement to the media, police changed its stand.

The SP of Sitamarhi district said, Ankit’s brother Ashish Kumar in his written complaint had nowhere mentioned the name of Nupur Sharma. He said, Ankit’s statement will be recorded and already two accused have been nabbed.

Normally police try to underplay crimes, and this is not justified. A youth was stabbed with a kife six times, and the victim is saying that he was watching Nupur Sharma’s video when he was attacked, but police was trying to pass it off as a case of local fight over drugs. People lose their trust when policemen behave like this, and criminals get encouragement.

More than a thousand kilometres away from Bihar, a Pakistani national Rizwan Akhtar, age 24 years, was nabbed by BSF in Rajasthan. The armed Pakistani intruder was arrested near Hindumalkot border post in Sriganganagar district of Rajasthan on July 16 night. During interrogation, Rizwan Akhtar confessed that he was on a mission to kill Nupur Sharma, for making remarks against the Prophet.

The SP of Ganganagar, Anand Sharma said, Rizwan Akhtar hailed from Kuthiyal Shekhar in Bahauddin district of Pakistan’s Punjab province. Two knives, one 11 inches long, were found from his possession. There were some religious texts, a map of India, clothes, food and a bagful of sand with him.

According to police, Rizwan confessed that he intended to visit Ajmer dargah first, offer a chadar, and then proceed to kill his target. Rizwan told police that there wasa meeting of mullahs and ulema in Bahauddin district, where Nupur Sharma’s blasphemous remarks against Prophet Mohammed were condemned and a ‘fatwa’ was issued for killing her. He said, Pakistani ulema had brainwashed him to enter India and kill Nupur Sharma. He was caught while trying to cross the international border. A local court remanded him to custody till July 24. He has been interrogated by a team of IB, RAW and Military Intelligence officers.

The arrest of the Pakistani national is evidence that Nupur Sharma has enemies, not only in India, but also across the border. One need not go far to find out why ‘jihadi’ fundamentalist forces want to behead Nupur Sharma. These are elements who want to strike terror in the hearts of common people, and create fear in the name of Islam. I have spoken to several Islamic scholars. They said, Islam does not permit killing, or maiming, or harming people. They said, Islam gives the message of love and brotherhood, but the situation that is now evolving is different.

People having a ‘jihadi’ mindset, maulanas who have a medieval fundamentalist outlook, and outfits like PFI have become tools to spread hatred in the minds of Muslims towards Nupur Sharma. Conspiracies are afoot in the name of Islam to incite people. Maulanas in Pakistan are inciting people to attack Nupur Sharma. Outfits that spread the poison of hatred like PFI are also plotting against her.

Nobody can say, who will attack Nupur Sharma and when. There is need to identify and isolate such elements, and the message must go that such radical elements will never get the support of Muslim community. The jihadi elements are on the prowl of even those who are supporting Nupur Sharma, as the stabbing incident that took place in Sitamarhi, Bihar shows.

Even a senior BJP MP from Rajasthan, Kirorilal Meena has got a threatening letter from one Qadir Ali, dated July 9, in which he has written that those who insult our Prophet will meet the same fate of Kanhaiyalal. Kirorilal Meena had gone to Udaipur to console the family of Kanhaiyalal, and had even offered his one month salary to the family. He had described the killers of Kanhaiyalal as ‘Talibani’. Meena has informed both the Centre and Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot about this threat.

This is another example of how some people are taking the extremist path in the name of religion. Such people are losing tolerance. Should an MP not raise his voice against the killers who beheaded an innocent person? This is not only a Hindu-Muslim issue. This is an issue relating to tolerance. Islam preaches tolerance and forgiveness. Those who attack innocent people must be brought to book.

देश के कई राज्यों में सोमवार को काफी राजनीतिक हलचल रही। भारत के नये राष्ट्रपति के चुनाव के लिए सांसदों और विधायकों ने वोट डाले। सबसे बड़ी खबर यह रही कि एनडीए उम्मीदवार द्रौपदी मुर्मू के पक्ष में विपक्षी दलों के कई सांसदों और विधायकों ने जमकर क्रॉस वोटिंग की। मुर्मू की जीत वैसे भी पहले से तय मानी जा रही थी। वोटों की गिनती गुरुवार को होगी। विपक्ष ने यशवंत सिन्हा को उम्मीदवार बनाया था। सारे रूझान इसी बात की तरफ इशारा कर रहे हैं कि द्रौपदी मुर्मू 25 जुलाई को भारत की पहली आदिवासी महिला राष्ट्रपति के रूप में शपथ लेंगी ।

कुल 4,796 सांसदों और विधायकों ने वोट डाले और 99 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ। 11 राज्यों और एक केंद्र शासित प्रदेश में शत-प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ। खबरें हैं कि कांग्रेस और कई अन्य विपक्षी दलों के विधायकों ने अपनी ‘अंतरात्मा की आवाज’ को सुनकर मुर्मू को वोट दिया। राष्ट्रपति चुनाव के नतीजे आने के बाद कई राज्यों में राजनीतिक समीकरण बदल सकते हैं।

राष्ट्रपति चुनाव में कुल 765 सांसदों ने मतदान किया, तो कुल 4025 विधायकों में से 99 फीसदी ने अपने वोट का इस्तेमाल किया। विपक्षी दल ‘संविधान, लोकतंत्र और देश बचाने’ के नाम पर यशवंत सिन्हा के लिए वोट मांग रहे थे, लेकिन अपनी पार्टी में टूट भी नहीं बचा पाए। तेलंगाना, गुजरात, ओडिशा, असम, मेघालय और उत्तर प्रदेश में विपक्षी दलों के कई विधायकों ने मुर्मू को वोट दिया।

सबसे दिलचस्प तस्वीर तो यूपी में दिखी। यहां समाजवादी पार्टी के सुप्रीमो अखिलेश यादव के चाचा शिवपाल यादव ने मुर्मू को वोट दिया। अपना वोट देने के बाद शिवपाल यादव ने पत्रकारों से कहा, ‘मैं यशवंत सिन्हा को वोट कैसे दे सकता हूं जिन्होंने मुलायम सिंह यादव को ISI का एजेंट कहा था? कोई भी कट्टर समाजवादी नेताजी के बारे में ऐसी बात स्वीकार नहीं कर सकता। नेता जी के विचारधारा के लोग ऐसे लोगों को कभी वोट नही देंगे।’

शिवपाल यादव ने आरोप लगाया कि सिन्हा को समर्थन देने से पहले अखिलेश यादव ने किसी से सलाह नहीं ली। इसके जवाब में अखिलेश यादव ने कहा, ‘चाचा को बीजेपी की बातें भी याद रखनी चाहिए। बीजेपी ने मुलायम सिंह यादव के बारे में क्या-क्या कहा था। लगता है वह सब भूल गए।’

अखिलेश यादव के गठबंधन सहयोगी ओमप्रकाश राजभर ने भी उनका साथ छोड़ दिया। राजभर की पार्टी के सभी पांच विधायकों ने मुर्मू के पक्ष में वोट किया। राजभर ने कहा, ‘विपक्षी दलों ने तो हारने के लिए यशवंत सिन्हा को मैदान में उतारा है। हमारा गठबंधन अखिलेश के ही साथ है, लेकिन हमने एनडीए उम्मीदवार को वोट दिया।’ इसका जवाब देते हुए अखिलेश ने कहा, ‘हमें पता है कि यशवंत सिन्हा नहीं जीतेंगे, लेकिन वह मैदान में डटे रहे यही बड़ी बात है। जहां तक ओमप्रकाश राजभर का सवाल है, तो जाने वाले को कौन रोक पाया है। बीजेपी जोड़-तोड़ का खेल कर रही है।’

यह सही है कि शिवपाल यादव या ओमप्रकाश राजभर के जाने से फिलहाल न समाजवादी पार्टी को कोई बहुत बड़ा नुकसान होगा, और न बीजेपी को कोई फायदा होगा लेकिन इसका असर भविष्य की राजनीति पर दिखेगा। असल में समाजवादी पार्टी पुराने नेता, जो मुलायम सिंह यादव के करीबी हैं, अखिलेश से नाराज हैं क्योंकि वह उन्हें तवज्जो नहीं देते।

इसीलिए शिवपाल और आजम खां जैसे समाजवादी पार्टी के स्तंभ अखिलेश यादव से दूर हो गए। जहां तक ओमप्रकाश राजभर का सवाल है, तो उनकी पार्टी छोटी है और उसका असर पूर्वांचल तक ही सीमित है। बिना सत्ता के या सरकार से दूर रहकर पार्टी चलाना मुश्किल होता है। इसलिए ओमप्रकाश राजभर धीरे-धीरे बीजेपी के साथ जा रहे हैं। उत्तर प्रदेश विधानसभा चुनावों के दौरान उनकी गणित गड़बड़ हो गई क्योंकि उन्होंने सोचा था कि अखिलेश की सरकार बन जाएगी। ओमप्रकाश इसी चक्कर में अखिलेश के साथ गए थे वरना वह पहले भी बीजेपी के साथ थे और योगी सरकार में मंत्री थे। अगर वह फिर बीजेपी के साथ जाते हैं तो इसमें कोई आश्चर्य की बात नहीं होगी।

असम में कांग्रेस के सहयोगी दल AIUDF ने आरोप लगाया है कि कम से कम 20 कांग्रेसी विधायकों ने क्रॉस वोटिंग की है। AIUDF के विधायक करीमुद्दीन बरभुइया ने कहा कि राज्यसभा चुनाव में भी कांग्रेस के विधायकों ने विपक्षी उम्मीदवार को वोट नहीं दिया, और राष्ट्रपति चुनाव में फिर धोखा दे दिया।

ओडिशा में नवीन पटनायक के नेतृत्व वाले बीजू जनता दल ने मुर्मू का समर्थन किया क्योंकि वह इसी राज्य की निवासी हैं। BJD और BJP के सभी विधायकों ने मुर्मू को वोट दिया। यहां तक कि कांग्रेस के एक विधायक मोहम्मद मुकीम ने भी द्रौपदी मुर्मू के पक्ष में वोट डाला और खुलकर कहा कि पार्टी ने यशवंत सिन्हा को वोट देने का आदेश दिया था, लेकिन उन्होंने अपने दिल की बात सुनी। मेघालय और तेलंगाना में भी कांग्रेस के कुछ विधायकों के वोट यशवंत सिन्हा को नहीं मिले। मेघालय और गुजरात में शरद पवार की पार्टी के विधायकों ने भी मुर्मू को वोट दिया। तेलंगाना में मुख्यमंत्री के. चंद्रशेखर राव की TRS खुलकर यशवंत सिन्हा का समर्थन कर रही थी, लेकिन उसके भी 2 सांसदों ने NDA उम्मीदवार के लिए वोटिंग की।

कुल मिलाकर राष्ट्रपति चुनाव में विरोधी दलों की एकता पूरी तरह बिखर गई। शरद पवार, के. चंद्रशेखर राव, ममता बनर्जी और सोनिया गांधी की राष्ट्रपति चुनाव में बीजेपी को तगड़ी टक्कर देने की सारी कोशिशें बेकार गईं। RJD नेता तेजस्वी यादव ने कहा, ‘नतीजा जो होगा देखा जाएगा, लेकिन इस बात तो संतोष रहेगा कि जब सब बीजेपी के सामने झुक रहे थे, तब RJD ने मैदान नहीं छोड़ा संविधान बचाने की लड़ाई लड़ी।’

राष्ट्रपति के चुनाव ने एक बार फिर साबित कर दिया कि नरेंद्र मोदी हर चुनावी लड़ाई पूरी शिद्दत से लड़ते हैं, जीतने के लिए पूरी ताकत लगा देते हैं। मोदी सिर्फ जीतने के लिए नहीं लड़ते, विपक्ष को पूरी तरह धूल चटाने के लिए लड़ते हैं। पहले तो मोदी ने राष्ट्रपति के चुनाव के लिए द्रौपदी मुर्मू को उम्मीदवार बनाकर देश भर में यह संदेश दिया कि उन्होंने एक महिला आदिवासी को देश के सर्वोच्च संवैधानिक पद को संभालने का मौका दिया है।

नतीजा यह हुआ कि उद्धव ठाकरे और हेमंत सोरेन जैसे नेता मोदी के घोर विरोधी होते हुए भी उनकी उम्मीदवार का समर्थन करने के लिए मजबूर हो गए। यशंवत सिन्हा तो ममता बनर्जी की पार्टी तणमूल कांग्रेस में थे लेकिन सामने आदिवासी उम्मीदवार को देखकर ममता भी यशंवत सिन्हा का जोर-शोर से समर्थन करने का साहस नहीं जुटा पाईं। कांग्रेस अपने आप को सबसे बड़ा विरोधी दल कहती है लेकिन उसका साथ देने वाली पार्टियां भी द्रौपदी मुर्मू की उम्मीदवारी का विरोध करने से कतराने लगीं।

इसका नतीजा सोमवार को देखने को मिला। असम, तेलंगाना और अन्य कई राज्यों में क्रॉस वोटिंग हुई। झारखंड में कांग्रेस के सहयोगी दल JMM ने NDA की उम्मीदवार का समर्थन किया। अब इसका असर देश की राजनीति पर क्या होगा, यह जल्दी नजर आएगा। नरेंद्र मोदी ने यह तो दिखा दिया कि फिलहाल विपक्षी एकता नाम की कोई चीज नहीं है, लेकिन लगता है कांग्रेस को इन सब बातों की कोई फिक्र नहीं है। कांग्रेस ने उपराष्ट्रपति के चुनाव में भी मोदी को चुनौती देने का फैसला करते हुए मार्गरेट अल्वा को मैदान में उतारा है। मार्गरेट अल्वा का मुकाबला जगदीप धनखड़ से होगा, जिन्होंने सोमवार को नामांकन दाखिल किया।

उपराष्ट्रपति के चुनाव में सिर्फ लोकसभा और राज्यसभा के सांसद वोट डालते हैं। इसमें जीत के लिए 390 वोट चाहिए और NDA के पास 394 वोट हैं, इसलिए जगदीप धनखड़ की जीत तय है। अगर 5 नामांकित सांसद भी धनखड़ को वोट देते हैं, तो यह आंकड़ा 399 पर पहुंच जाता है। मार्गरेट अल्वा को वोटों का समीकरण पता है। उन्होंने कहा, जीत और हार तो लगी रहती है, लेकिन वह मुकाबला ज़रूर करेंगी।

लोकतंत्र में मुकाबला होना भी चाहिए, यह स्वस्थ परंपरा है लेकिन संवैधानिक पदों पर फैसला आम सहमति से हो तो बेहतर है।

There was hectic political activity in several states on Monday as MPs and MLAs casted their votes to elect India’s new President. Crossvoting was reported from opposition ranks, as several MPs and MLAs cast their votes in favour of NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu, whose election seems to be a foregone conclusion. Counting will take place on Thursday. The combined opposition had fielded Yashwant Sinha as candidate. All indicators show that Draupadi Murmu may take oath as India’s first tribal woman President on July 25.

In all, 4,796 MPs and MLAs cast their votes, and the turnout was 99 per cent. There was 100 per cent voting in eleven states and one union territory. Reports said, Congress and several other opposition MLAs casted votes in favour of Murmu listening to their ‘voice of conscience’. Political equations in several states may undergo changes after the Presidential election results are out.

A total of 765 MPs cast their votes, while 99 per cent of a total of 4,025 MLAs voted to elect the President. The combined opposition sought votes for Yashwant Sinha in the name of ‘saving Constitution and democracy’, but the exactly opposite thing happened. In Telangana, Gujarat, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya and UP, several opposition MLAs voted for Murmu.

The most interesting development was in UP, where Shivpal Yadav, uncle of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, voted for Murmu. After casting his vote, Shivpal Yadav told reporters, “How can I vote for Yashwant Sinha, who once described Mulayam Singh Yadav as an ISI agent? Any socialist leader will never accept this. People who allegiance to the ideals of our Netaji (Mulayam Singh) will never accept this.”

Shivpal Yadav alleged that Akhilesh Yadav did not consult anybody before extending his support to Sinha. In reply, Akhilesh Yadav said, “Chacha (uncle) has forgotten what BJP leaders had spoken about Mulayam Singh Yadav. It seems he has forgotten those abuses.”

Akhilesh Yadav’s coalition ally Om Prakash Rajbhar also deserted him. All five MLAs from Rajbhar’s party voted in favour of Murmu. Rabjhar said, “opposition parties have fielded Sinha in order to lose. Our alliance with Akhilesh will continue, but we voted for NDA candidate.” Replying to this, Akhilesh Yadav said, “we know Yashwant Sinha will not win, but he stood his ground, and that is a big thing. As far as Om Prakash Rajbhar is concerned, who can stop anybody from going. BJP is playing a game of manipulations.”

It is true, neither Samajwadi Party will suffer losses, nor the BJP will make gains if Shivpal Yadav and Rajbhar ditch Akhilesh Yadav, but this will surely have an impact on UP politics in the near future. It is a fact that old-timers who are loyalists of Mulayam Singh Yadav in Samajwadi Party, are unhappy with the style of working of Akhilesh Yadav, who is not giving them due importance.

This is the reason why Shivpal Yadav and Mohammed Azam Khan, who were pillars of the party, are unhappy with Akhilesh. As far as Rajbhar is concerned, his party is small and has limited presence in eastern UP. It is difficult to run a party by staying out of power. Om Prakash Rajbhar is slowly inching his way towards BJP. He had miscalculated during UP assembly elections early this year when he presumed that Akhilesh may return to power. Otherwise, Rajbhar had been a part of BJP’s Yogi government in UP. One should not be surprised if he returns to the BJP camp.

In Assam, AIUDF, an ally of Congress, alleged that at least 20 Congress MLAs indulged in crossvoting. AIUDF MLA Karimuddin Barbhuiya alleged that Congress MLAs did not vote for opposition candidate during Rajya Sabha polls, and have again ditched during the Presidential poll.

In Odisha, the Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal supported Murmu because she hailed from the state. All BJD and BJP MLAs voted for Murmu. Even a Congress MLA Mohammed Muquim voted for her and openly said that he voted after listening to his “voice of conscience.” In Meghalaya and Telangana, too, several Congress MLAs did not vote for Sinha. In Meghalaya and Gujarat, Sharad Pawar’s NCP MLAs also voted for Murmu. In Telangana, while the ruling TRS led by chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao openly supported Sinha, two TRS MPs cast their votes for Murmu.

Looking at the overall scenario, it is now clear that all efforts by senior opposition leaders like Sharad Pawar, K. Chandrashekhar Rao, Mamata Banerjee and Sonia Gandhi to give a tough united fight to the BJP in the Presidential poll, have fizzled out. RJD chief Tejashwi Yadav said, “whatever may be the outcome, at least we will have this satisfaction that our party did not leave the battle to save Constitution, at a time when several others bowed to BJP.”

The presidential poll has proved once again that Prime Minister Narendra Modi fights every electoral battle with full might. Modi does not fight the battle only to win, but also to decimate the opposition. Firstly, he sprang a surprise when he chose Draupadi Murmu as his party’s candidate, and sent the message across the nation that he has given the opportunity to a female Adivasi to take up the country’s highest constitutional post.

As a result, opposition leaders like Uddhav Thackeray and Hemant Soren, despite being anti-Modi, were forced to support Modi’s candidate. Murmu’s rival Yashwant Sinha was in Mamata Banerjee’s party, Trinamool Congress, but when Mamata found that a tribal woman was the rival, she did not muster up courage to mobilize massive support for Yashwant Sinha. Congress claims to be the largest opposition party, but its political allies expressed reservations over the issue of opposing a tribal woman candidate.

The result was there for all to see on Monday. There was crossvoting in Assam, Telangana and other states. Congress’ ally Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, the ruling party in Jharkhand, supported Murmu. The effect of these developments will be seen soon in national politics. Narendra Modi has proved it clearly that there is nothing called united opposition for now. Congress does not seem to realize this. It has fielded Margaret Alva as the opposition candidate for Vice-President election. She will face NDA candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar, who filed his nomination on Monday.

In the Vice-President election, only members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. 390 votes are required for victory, and NDA has 394 votes. Dhankhar’s win is also a foregone conclusion. If five nominated MPs vote, NDA’s tally can go upto 399. Margaret Alva knows the voting equation. She said, victory and defeat do take place in politics, but she will give a fight.

There should be contests in a democracy and it is a healthy tradition, but it could have been better, had there been unanimity in electing individuals to high Constitutional posts.

लखनऊ में बने देश के सबसे बड़े शॉपिंग मॉल में नमाज पढ़ने के मामले को लेकर हैरान करने वाली हकीकत सामने आई है। कुछ लोग शॉपिंग मॉल में खरीदारी करने की बजाय सिर्फ नमाज पढ़ने गए थे। मॉल के अंदर कुछ लोगों का एक ग्रुप अचानक दाखिल हुआ, उन लोगों ने नमाज पढ़ी, नमाज का वीडियो बनाया और मॉल से बाहर निकलने से पहले उसे सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल कर दिया। दरअसल, ये लोग मॉल में खरीददारी करने के लिए नहीं आए थे। मॉल के अंदर नमाज का वीडियो सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल कर इनका मकसद सांप्रदायिक तनाव पैदा करना था।

शुक्रवार को लखनऊ पुलिस ने मॉल मैनेजमेंट की ओर से शिकायत मिलने पर अज्ञात लोगों के खिलाफ एफआईआर दर्ज की । पुलिस ने आईपीसी की धारा 295 ए (धार्मिक भावनाओं को ठेस पहुंचाने के इरादे से जानबूझकर किया गया कार्य), धारा 153ए (विभिन्न समूहों के बीच दुश्मनी को बढ़ावा देना), धारा 341 (किसी को गलत तरीके से रोकना), धारा 505 (समाज में वैमन्सय पैदा करने के उद्देश्य से झूठ प्रसारित करना ) के तहत केस दर्ज किया है।

मॉल के अंदर ओपेन एरिया में नमाज अदा करने का वीडियो सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल होने के बाद अखिल भारत हिंदू महासभा भी सामने आ गई। उसने मॉल के अंदर हनुमान चालीसा और सुंदर कांड का पाठ करने की धमकी दी। अखिल भारत हिंदू महासभा ने संयुक्त अरब अमीरात (UAE) स्थित लुलु ग्रुप और मॉल के मालिक के खिलाफ शिकायत दर्ज कराई। अखिल भारत हिंदू महासभा ने कहा कि यह राज्य सरकार के उस फैसले का उल्लंघन है जिसमें सार्वजनिक स्थानों पर नमाज की अनुमति नहीं दी गई है। मॉल मैनेजमेंट द्वारा हिंदू संगठन के नेताओं को बातचीत के लिए बुलाया गया। बातचीत के बाद हिंदू संगठनों ने मॉल के अंदर हनुमान चालीसा पढ़ने की धमकी वापस ले ली।

संयुक्त अरब अमीरात के सबसे बड़े बिजनेस समूह लुलु ग्रुप के मालिक एम.ए युसुफ अली हैं। युसुफ अली भारतीय हैं और केरल के त्रिशूर के रहनेवाले हैं। इस बात के साफ संकेत मिले हैं कि युसुफ अली और उनके शॉपिंग मॉल को बदनाम करने के लिए जानबूझकर मॉल के अंदर नमाज अदा की गई थी। लखनऊ पुलिस ने कहा, ऐसा लगता है कि सांप्रदायिक तनाव पैदा करने के लिए जानबूझकर ऐसा काम किया गया।

अब सवाल यह है कि एक बिजनेस ग्रुप को बदनाम करने से किसे फायदा होगा? मुसलमानों के लिए फख्र की बात होनी चाहिए कि यूपी में देश का सबसे बड़ा मॉल दुनिया के बड़े मुस्लिम कारोबारी ने बनाया, जिसकी गिनती संयुक्त अरब अमीरात के बड़े व्यापारियों में होती है और जिसने खाड़ी में हजारों भारतीयों को नौकरी दी है।

उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने 10 जुलाई को लुलु शॉपिंग मॉल का उद्घाटन किया। यह भारत का सबसे बड़ा शॉपिंग मॉल है। उद्घाटन के दो दिन बाद 13 जुलाई को एक वीडियो वायरल हुआ जिसमें कुछ लोग मॉल के अंदर नमाज पढ़ रहे थे। इसके बाद लखनऊ में विरोध प्रदर्शन शुरू हो गया।

इंडिया टीवी रिपोर्टर विशाल प्रताप सिंह ने बताया कि जब विवाद बढ़ा तो लखनऊ पुलिस ने मॉल में लगे सीसीटीवी फुटेज को खंगाला। पता चला कि नमाज पढ़ने वाला ग्रुप सबसे पहले एंट्री गेट पर दिखा। इसके बाद वे सीधे सीढ़ियों की तरफ गए। ज्यादातर दुकानें पहली मंजिल पर ही हैं लेकिन ये लोग पहली मंजिल पर नहीं रुके।

इस ग्रुप के सभी सातों लोग दूसरी मंजिल पर गए। दूसरी मंजिल पर फूड कोर्ट और बच्चे के लिए स्पोर्ट्स एरिया है। दो-तीन इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स के शो रूम भी हैं। ये लोग सीधे इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स के शो रूम के पास वाली खाली जगह पर पहुंचे और नमाज पढ़ने लगे। इनलोगों ने नमाज पढ़ने का वीडियो बनाया और फिर नमाज पढ़ने के बाद सीधे ग्राउंड फ्लोर पर आए और मॉल से बाहर निकल गए। सीसीटीवी फुटेज में साफ है कि इस ग्रुप का इरादा शॉपिंग या कोई और काम नहीं बल्कि नमाज अदा करने का वीडियो बनाने का था।

पुलिस अब उन सात लोगों के साथ ही उस शख्स की भी पहचान की कोशिश में जुटी हुई है जिसने नमाज का वीडियो बनाया। पुलिस सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल हुए वीडियो का क्रम भी खंगालने की कोशिश कर रही है।

मॉल के जनरल मैनेजर समीर वर्मा ने कहा-मॉल के अंदर अब प्रमुखता से यह नोटिस लगाया गया है कि यहां किसी भी किस्म की धार्मिक प्रार्थना की इजाजत नहीं है। वर्मा ने कहा-नमाज अदा करने वाले मॉल के कर्मचारी नहीं थे। उन्होंने कहा, ‘हम सभी धर्मों का सम्मान करते हैं और सार्वजनिक स्थानों पर धार्मिक प्रार्थना की अनुमति नहीं देने की सरकार की नीति का पालन करेंगे।’

असल में मॉल के उदघाटन के सिर्फ 48 घंटे के बाद ही विवाद हो गया, उसी वक्त मुझे शक हुआ कि कुछ तो गड़बड़ जरूर है। यह मामला उतना सीधा नहीं है जितना दिख रहा है। क्योंकि लुलू मॉल कोई साधारण मॉल नहीं है। यह देश का सबसे बड़ा मॉल है। यह 22 लाख स्क्वॉयर फीट एरिया में फैला हुआ है। 2000 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से बनकर तैयार हुआ है। फूड कोर्ट में 1500 लोगों के एक साथ बैठकर खाने का इंतजाम है। तीन हजार गाड़ियों के पार्किंग की जगह है। इस मॉल में 11 थिएटर हैं और यह सबसे कम वक्त में बनकर तैयार हुआ है।

केरल में जन्मे एम.ए. युसुफ अली लुलु ग्रुप के प्रमुख हैं। यूसुफ़ अली ने बहुत कम उम्र में अपने चाचा का रिटेल का बिजनेस संभाल लिया था। कारोबार को बढ़ाने के लिए वो अबू धाबी चले गए थे। वर्ष 2021 में फ़ोर्ब्स मैग्ज़ीन में यूसुफ अली दुनिया के सबसे अमीर कारोबारियों में 38वें नंबर पर थे।

युसुफ अली के लुलु ग्रुप का कारोबार 22 देशों में फैला हुआ है। उनके ग्रुप में 57 हजार से ज़्यादा लोग काम करते हैं। युसुफ यूनाइटेड अरब अमीरात के सबसे कामयाब कारोबारियों में गिने जाते हैं। 2021 में युसुफ अली को अबू धाबी के सर्वोच्च पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया था। उन्हें पद्मश्री और प्रवासी भारतीय पुरस्कार भी दिया जा चुका है।

पिछले महीने 4 जून को लखनऊ में हुई इन्वेस्टर्स समिट में एम. ए. यूसुफ़ अली ने यूपी में 2500 करोड़ रुपए के निवेश का वादा किया। वे लखनऊ के अलावा वाराणसी और प्रयागराज में भी शॉपिंग मॉल बनाने जा रहे हैं। लखनऊ में बना लुलू मॉल, इस ग्रुप का भारत में पांचवां मॉल है। यूसुफ़ अली के ग्रुप ने इससे पहले कोच्चि, बेंगालुरू और तिरुवनंतपुरम में भी लुलू मॉल बनाए हैं। लखनऊ के मॉल का उद्घाटन 10 जुलाई को योगी आदित्यनाथ ने किया था। उद्घाटन के बाद यूसुफ़ अली ने कहा था कि बिजनेस के लिए योगी ने जो माहौल बनाया है उससे निवेशकों का हौसला बढ़ा है।

युसूफ अली अबू धाबी चैंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स एंड इंडस्ट्री के उपाध्यक्ष हैं। उन्होंने दुबई और अबू धाबी में प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से मुलाकात की थी। नरेंद्र मोदी जब से प्रधानमंत्री बने हैं, तब से वो UAE और अन्य खाड़ी देशों के साथ रिश्ते बेहतर बनाने में जुटे हैं। मोदी चार बार UAE का दौरा कर चुके हैं।

प्रधानमंत्री के साथ हुई मुलाकात में यूसुफ़ अली ने भारत में इन्वेस्टमेंट बढ़ाने में दिलचस्पी दिखाई। उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री के रूपे कार्ड योजना की तारीफ़ की और बताया कि उन्होंने इस कार्ड को हर उस देश में लागू करने का फ़ैसला किया है जहां उनका कारोबार है। यूसुफ़ अली ने प्रधानमंत्री को ये भी बताया कि वो कश्मीर में भी बड़ा निवेश करने की सोच रहे हैं।

मुझे लगता है कि लखनऊ के लुलु मॉल में जो हुआ वो जानबूझ कर नमाज़ और सुंदरकांड के नाम पर हिंदू-मुस्लिम विवाद खड़ा करने के लिए किया गया। यह सब इस मॉल को बनाने वाले यूसुफ अली को मुसीबत में डालने के लिए किया गया। यूसुफ अली इसलिए निशाने पर आए क्योंकि वो नरेन्द्र मोदी के मुरीद हैं।

यूसुफ अली दुनिया के 22 देशों में हाईपर मार्केट और शॉपिंग मॉल चलाते हैं। यूसुफ़ अली ने भारत के बाहर, सबसे ज़्यादा भारतीय लोगों को नौकरी दी है। इसी वजह से नरेंद्र मोदी उनसे काफ़ी प्रभावित हुए। पीएम मोदी जब भी संयुक्त अरब अमीरात के दौरे पर गए वह सार्वजनिक तौर पर यूसुफ अली से बात करते दिखाई दिए। इस साल जून महीने में जब नरेन्द्र मोदी इन्वेस्टर समिट का उद्घाटन करने लखनऊ गए थे तो यूसुफ़ अली ने उन्हें बनारस और प्रयागराज में बनने वाले शॉपिंग मॉल के बारे में बताया था।

मोदी ने भी कई बार यूसुफ अली के इंडिया में निवेश को लेकर उनकी तारीफ की है। लगता है यही तारीफ यूसुफ अली को भारी पड़ गई। उन्हें बदनाम करने और विवादों में डालने के लिए उनकी मॉल में नमाज का वीडियो बनाकर वायरल कर दिया गया और फिर सुंदर कांड पढ़ने वाले भी मैदान में उतार आए।

अगर वक्त रहते यूपी पुलिस ने एक्शन नहीं लिया होता तो बात बिगड़ सकती थी। लेकिन यूसुफ अली का संबंध सिर्फ इंवेस्टमेंट और मॉल से नहीं है। UAE और सऊदी अरब में उनका बड़ा कारोबार है, काफी रसूख है। इस वजह से यूसुफ अली भारत और खाड़ी देशों के बीच में एक मजबूत कड़ी हैं। मुझे लगता है कुछ लोगों को ये बात अच्छी नहीं लगी इसीलिए सोची-समझी साजिश की गई।

In a shocking incident in India’s largest shopping mall opened in Lucknow, a group of men abruptly came to the mall, offered namaaz prayer, made video of the prayer and circulated it on social media before leaving the place. They had not come for purchase or window shopping. Their aim was to post the video on social media and create communal tension.

On Friday, Lucknow police filed an FIR following complaint from the mall management, against unknown persons and slapped charges under various sections of Indian Penal Code, viz. Sec 295A (deliberate and malicious intention of outraging religious feelings), Sec 153A (promoting enmity on grounds of religion), Sec 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) and Sec 505 (statements aimed at creating public mischief).

After the video of namaaz being offered inside an open space in the mall went viral on social media, Hindu right-wing groups like Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha threatened to recite Hanuman Chalisa and Sunder Kand inside the mall, in retaliation. The outfit filed a complaint against the UAE-based Lulu group, owner of the mall, saying that this was in violation of the state government’s decision not to allow namaaz prayer in public places. The leaders of Hindu outfit were called for talks by the management and they later withdrew their threat to recite Hanuman Chalisa.

The owner of UAE’s largest business conglomerate, Lulu group, is M.A. Yusuff Ali, an Indian businessman from Thrissur, Kerala. There were clear indications that the offering of namaaz was done deliberately to defame Yusuff Ali and his shopping mall. Lucknow police said, the act appears to have been done deliberately in order to create communal tension.

The question is: who will benefit by defaming the business group? Muslims in India should pride themselves over the fact that India’s largest shopping mall has been built by an Indian Muslim tycoon, one of the top businessmen in UAE, who has given jobs to thousands of Indians in the Gulf.

The Lulu Shopping Mall was inaugurated by UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath on July 10. It is India’s largest shopping mall. Two days later, on July 13, a video of some people offering namaaz inside the mall became viral. There were protests in Lucknow.

India TV correspondent Vishal Pratap Singh reported that when Lucknow police checked CCTV footage, the group that had offered namaaz, first appeared at the entry gate. The group proceeded straight to the escalator. Most of the shops were on the first floor, but the group did not go to the first floor.

All the seven persons in the group went to the second floor, where there is a food court and a sports area for kids along with a few electronic goods showrooms. They went straight to a vacant spot near an electronic goods showroom, sat down to offer namaaz prayers, made video of the same, and returned to the ground floor and went out of the mall campus. The cctv footage clearly shows that the intention of the group was not to go for shopping but for deliberating making a video of namaaz prayer.

Police is now trying to identify the seven persons and the man who made the video of the namaaz prayer. Police is also checking the origin of the video trail, that later went viral, on social media.

Sameer Verma, general manager of the mall, said, notices have now been displayed prominently in the mall saying offering of religious prayers inside the mall is not allowed. Verma said, those who offered namaaz were not employees of the mall. “We respect all religions and will follow the government’s policy of not allowing religious prayers in public places”, he added.

Since the controversy was created within 48 hours of the opening mall, there is bound to be suspicion. The matter is not straight as it appears. India’s largest Lulu shopping mall is spread over 22 lakh sq feet area, and was built at a cost of Rs 2000 crore. The vast food court has an area where nearly 1,500 customers can sit and have food. The mall has a parking facility for nearly 3,000 cars and there are 11 cine screens. It was built within record time.

M.A. Yusuff Ali, the Kerala-born business tycoon who owns Lulu group, was in retail business with his uncle when he was in his teens. He went to Abu Dhabi and expanded his business. Forbes magazine in 2021 described Yusuff Ali as the world’s 38th richest tycoon.

The Lulu group has business spread in 22 countries. More than 57,000 people work in this group. One of the top tycoons of United Arab Emirates, Yusuff Ali was given the highest honour by the Abu Dhabi government. He has been honoured with Padma Shri and Pravasi Bharatiya award.

On June 4 this year, at the UP investors’ summit in Lucknow, Yusuff Ali promised to invest Rs 2,500 crore in the state. He has plans to build shopping malls in Varanasi and Prayagraj too. His group has shopping malls in Kochi, Bengaluru and Thurvananthapuram. On July 10, when CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Lucknow mall, Yusuff Ali said, Yogi has boosted investors’ confidence in UP by providing ease of business atmosphere.

Yusuff Ali is the vice-president of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Modi, who has been striving to improve friendly relations with UAE, has already visited the Emirates four times.

During his meetings with the PM, Yusuff Ali showed interest in investing more in India. During his meetings with Modi, Yusuff Ali praised Rupay Card, and promised to promote this card in those countries where his Lulu group has business. Yusuff Ali has alsho shown interest in investing in Kashmir.

I feel, the controversy over namaaz prayer and Sunder Kaand recital in Lucknow mall was created deliberately to incite Hindu-Muslim passions. The aim was also to target and defame Yusuff Ali and his group. Yusuff Ali was targeted because he is an avowed fan of Narendra Modi.

Yusuff Ali’s Lulu group runs hyper markets and shopping malls in 22 countries. As an Indian-born business tycoon, he has given jobs to the largest number of Indians abroad. Whenever Modi visited the UAE, Yusuff Ali made it a point to meet the PM. In June this year, during the Investors Summit in Lucknow, he showed models of shopping malls that his group plans to build in Varanasi and Prayagraj.

Modi has praised Yusuff Ali for being in the frontline of NRI businessmen who are investing money in India. The aim of deliberately defaming Yusuff Ali and his group on social media was to tarnish his image on religious grounds.

Had UP police not taken action in time, an unnecessary controversy would have been created. Yusuff Ali is not only a tycoon. He has emerged as a useful link for India to forge strong bonds of friendship with the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries.

बिहार पुलिस ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की 12 जुलाई की पटना यात्रा से ठीक पहले फुलवारी शरीफ में झारखंड के एक रिटायर्ड पुलिस सब इंस्पेक्टर और आतंकी संगठनों से जुड़े दो अन्य लोगों को गिरफ्तार करके एक आतंकी मॉड्यूल का भंडाफोड़ किया है।

जांच के दौरान चौंकाने वाला खुलासा हुआ। पुलिस ने पीपुल्स फ्रंट ऑफ इंडिया द्वारा तैयार ‘India Vision 2047: Towards Rule of Islam in India’ शीर्षक से आठ पन्नों का एक दस्तावेज जब्त किया।

‘विजन डॉक्युमेंट’ में कहा गया है, ‘हम एक ऐसे 2047 का सपना देखते हैं जब सियासी ताक़त मुसलमानों के पास आ जाएगी। ये ताक़त ब्रिटिश हुक्मरानों ने मुसलमानों से छीन लिया था।’ डॉक्युमेंट में आगे लिखा हुआ है, ‘अगर हम इस्लाम की तारीख को देखें, तो भारत में मुसलमान हमेशा अल्पसंख्यक रहे हैं और जीत हासिल करने के लिए हमें बहुसंख्यक होने की जरूरत नहीं है। पीपुल्स फ्रंट ऑफ इंडिया को यकीन है कि अगर देश के 10 फीसद मुसलमान भी उसका साथ देते हैं तो वह ‘कायर’ बहुसंख्यक समुदाय को अपने घुटनों पर ला सकते हैं और भारत में इस्लाम का परचम बुलंद हो सकता है।’

विजन डॉक्युमेंट में कहा गया है, ‘PFI के कारकून और मुस्लिम युवाओं को बार-बार याद दिलाना चाहिए कि वे सभी दीन (मज़हब) के लिए काम कर रहे हैं। अल्लाह ने इस ‘कायनात’ (दुनिया) को बनाया है और मुसलमानों के सामने सिर्फ दो मकसद हैं: पहला, अल्लाह के कानून को कायम करना और दूसरा, मुसलमान इस धरती पर ‘दाई’ बनें। इस्लाम का निज़ाम कायम हो, इस बात का हमेशा ध्यान रखना चाहिए ।’

PFI के विजन डाक्यूमेंट में भारत में इस्लामी निज़ाम कायम करने के लिए 4 चरण बताए गए हैं। PFI के डॉक्युमेंट में लिखा है कि पहले चरण में ‘मुसलमानों को इक्कठा करके उन्हें PFI के बैनर के नीचे लाया जाए। इसके बाद अपने कारकून को तलवार, छड़ें और बम चलाने की ट्रेनिंग दी जाए। इस ट्रेनिंग में आक्रामक और रक्षात्मक, दोनों तकनीकों को शामिल किया जाए। इसे हासिल करने के लिए मुस्लिम समुदाय को बार-बार उनकी तकलीफें याद दिलाई जाएं, और अगर कोई तकलीफ नहीं है तो पैदा की जाएं। हमसे जुड़े हुए सभी तंज़ीमों को नए सदस्यों की भर्ती पर ज़ोर देना चाहिए। हमें हर हालत में, भारतीय होने की सोच से दीगर, एक इस्लामी पहचान स्थापित करनी होगी।’

विजन डॉक्युमेंट में कहा गया है, ‘दूसरी स्टेज में हमारे विरोधियों (हिंदुओं) में दहशत पैदा करने और हमारी संगठित ताकत को दिखाने के लिए सेलेक्टिव तरीके से हिंसा करनी है। बड़े पैमाने पर लामबंदी होनी चाहिए और हमें अपने प्रशिक्षित कैडर को सुरक्षाबलों से बचाकर रखना है। ..इस बीच पार्टी को इस्लामी निज़ाम कायम करने के वास्तविक इरादे को छिपाने के लिए राष्ट्रीय ध्वज, संविधान और आम्बेडकर के नाम का इस्तेमाल करना है। हमें अनुसूचित जातियों, जनजातियों और अन्य पिछड़े वर्गों तक पहुंच बनानी होगी। हमें कार्यपालिका और न्यायपालिका तक भी अपनी पहुंच बनानी होगी और सूचना इकट्टा करने और अपने हित के मुताबिक नतीजे पाने के लिए ऐसे सभी स्तरों पर अपने सदस्यों की घुसपैठ करानी है। इसके अलावा, फंड और दूसरी मदद पाने के लिए इस्लामी देशों के साथ संपर्क भी होना चाहिए।’

तीसरे स्टेज के बारे में PFI का विजन डॉक्युमेंट कहता है, ‘हमें RSS और SC, ST, OBC के बीच विभाजन पैदा करने की जरूरत है और ये बताने की ज़रूरत है कि RSS सिर्फ ऊंची जाति के हिंदुओं का फायदा चाहता है।’ डॉक्युमेंट में सभी ‘सेक्यूलर’ दलों को दरकिनार रखने और ‘विशुद्ध रूप से मुस्लिम’ पार्टी बनाने का आह्वान किया गया है जो मुसलमानों, दलितों, आदिवासियों और पिछड़े वर्गों की जरूरतों को पूरा करे । डॉक्युमेंट में सदस्यों से अनुशासन के जरिए अपनी ताकत दिखाने, वर्दी पहनकर मार्च निकालने, जरूरत पड़ने पर मुस्लिम समुदाय के लोगों को बचाने के लिए शारीरिक तौर पर हस्तक्षेप करने और अपने हितों का विरोध करने वालों पर हमला करने की बात भी कही गई है। साथ ही कहा गया है कि इस स्तर पर हथियार और गोला-बारूद जुटाए जाएंगे।

डॉक्युमेंट के मुताबिक, चौथे और अंतिम चरण में, अन्य सभी मुस्लिम पार्टियों और सेक्यूलर संगठनों को दरकिनार करते हुए ‘पीएफआई को सभी मुसलमानों के निर्विवाद नेता के रूप में उभरना चाहिए। इसे एससी, एसटी और ओबीसी के कम से कम 50 प्रतिशत लोगों का विश्वास हासिल करना चाहिए और उनके हितों के लिए भी काम करना चाहिए।’

पीएफआई के दस्तावेज़ में कहा गया है, ‘सत्ता में आने के बाद, कार्यपालिका और न्यायपालिका के साथ-साथ पुलिस और सेना में सभी महत्वपूर्ण पदों पर हमारे वफादार कारकूनों की घुसपैठ होनी चाहिए। सेना और पुलिस सहित सभी सरकारी विभागों के दरवाजे ‘वफादार मुसलमानों’ और एससी/एसटी/ओबीसी से भरने के लिए खोले जाने चाहिए ताकि ‘अतीत में हुए अन्याय और भर्ती में असंतुलन को ठीक किया जा सके।’ जिन लोगों को हथियारों का प्रशिक्षण दिया गया है, उन्हें अब और अधिक ‘मुखर’ होना चाहिए और ‘हमारे हितों के खिलाफ काम करने वालों को खत्म कर देना’ चाहिए।’

डॉक्युमेंट में लिखा है, ‘इन PE कैडरों को हमारे दुश्मनों द्वारा सुरक्षाबलों के इस्तेमाल के खिलाफ एक सुरक्षा कवच के रूप में भी काम करना होगा। जब हमारे पास पर्याप्त प्रशिक्षित कैडर और हथियार होंगे, तो हम इस्लामी उसूलों के आधार पर एक नया संविधान की घोषणा करेंगे। उस समय बाहरी ताकतें भी हमारी मदद के लिए आएंगी। हमारे विरोधियों का व्यवस्थित और व्यापक रूप से सफाया होना चाहिए, ताकि भारत इस्लामी गौरव की ओर लौट सके।’

मैंने जानबूझकर इस दस्तेवाज़ – ‘भारत के लिए PFI का विजन 2047′ – की विस्तार से जानकारी दी है, ताकिये बता सकूं कि राष्ट्रविरोधी ताकतें किस तरह पूरी सक्रियता के साथ काम कर रही हैं। बिहार पुलिस ने फुलवारी शरीफ में जिन तीन लोगों को गिरफ्तार किय़ा, उनमें झारखंड का एक रिटायर्ड पुलिस सब-इंस्पेक्टर भी शामिल है। वह भोले-भाले मुस्लिम नौजवानों का ब्रेनवॉश कर रहा था और खुफिया तरीके से उन्हें हथियारों की ट्रेनिंग दे रहा था। उसके पास से जब्त किए गए दस्तावेज, पैंफलेट्स और पीएफआई के झंडे किसी बड़ी साजिश के एक छोटे से हिस्से का ही खुलासा करते हैं।

दस्तावेज़ में लिखा है कि 75 साल पहले, 1947 में जब भारत का बंटवारा हुआ था, उस वक्त एक इस्लामी राष्ट्र (पाकिस्तान) बना। इसमें लिखा है, ‘जब भारत के लोग अपनी आजादी की सौवीं सालगिरह का जश्न मना रहे होंगे, उस समय तक हमें पूरे भारत में इस्लामी निज़ाम कायम करना ही होगा।’

बिहार पुलिस ने बताया कि इस विजन डॉक्युमेंट को देश भर के सभी PFI सदस्यों के बीच गुप्त रूप से बांटा गया है। इसका मतलब साफ है कि भारत सरकार के खिलाफ बगावत की साजिश रची जा रही थी। दस्तावेजों में नौजवानों को यह बार-बार बताने के लिए कहा गया है कि ‘आप सब अल्लाह का निज़ाम कायम करने के लिए मुसलमान बन कर पैदा हुए हैं, आपको दीन के लिए काम करना चाहिए।’ दस्तावेजों में उन इस्लामिक देशों के नाम भी बताए गए हैं जहां से PFI को मदद की उम्मीद है। यह एक ओपन सीक्रेट है कि PFI के तुर्की के साथ बेहतर रिश्ते हैं।

जब मैंने विजन डॉक्युमेंट पढ़ा तो मुझे पहले तो विश्वास नहीं हुआ कि इस तरह का कोई खतरनाक प्लान बनाया जा सकता है। लेकिन जब मैंने जब्त किए गए बाकी दस्तावेज़ और पैम्फलेट्स देखे तो रोंगटे खड़े हो गए। साफ लफ्ज़ों में कहें तो ये भारत के खिलाफ ऐलान-ए-जंग के बराबर है।

झारखंड पुलिस के रिटायर्ड पुलिस सब-इंस्पेक्टर मोहम्मद जलालुद्दीन को PFI और इसके राजनीतिक संगठन SDPI के नेता अतहर परवेज के साथ गिरफ्तार किया गया। उनके पास से ये दस्तावेज और अन्य सामग्री जब्त की गई है। PFI के इस आतंकी मॉड्यूल का हिस्सा कई लोग बताए जा रहे हैं।

इनमें मोहम्मद जलालुद्दीन, अतहर परवेज, शमीम अख्तर, रियाज मारिफ, सनाउल्लाह उर्फ आकिब, तौसीफ आलम, महबूब आलम, एहसान परवेज, सलमान, मोहम्मद रसलान, महबूबुर रहमान, इम्तियाज दाऊदी, खलीक-उर-जमां, अमीन आलम, जीशान अहमद, रियाज़ अहमद, मंज़र परवेज़, नूरुद्दीन जंगी, महबूब आलम, मोहम्मद रियाज, अंसारुल हक, मोहम्मद मुस्ताकिम, मजहरुल इस्लाम, अब्दुर रहमान, अरमान मलिक और परवेज आलम शामिल हैं।

बिहार पुलिस ने कहा कि उसे 12 जुलाई को प्रधानमंत्री की बिहार यात्रा से पहले केंद्रीय एजेंसियों से खुफिया जानकारी मिली थी जिसके बाद आरोपियों को फुलवारी शरीफ में पकड़ा गया। यह मॉड्यूल प्रधानमंत्री के दौरे के दौरान भी गड़बड़ी करने की योजना बना रहा था। पुलिस के लोग जब जलालुद्दीन के घर पहुंचे तो यह देखकर हैरान रह गए कि नौजवानों को हथियार जलाने की पूरी ट्रेनिंग दी जा रही थी। मोहम्मद जलालुद्दीन और अतहर परवेज के साथ एक तीसरे आरोपी अमान मलिक को भी गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है।

पुलिस ने बताया कि प्रधानमंत्री के पटना आने के 6 दिन पहले 6 और 7 जुलाई को केरल, तमिलनाडु और पश्चिम बंगाल से पीएफआई के कार्यकर्ताओं को बिहार बुलाया गया था। उन्होंने जलालुद्दीन के घर पर स्थानीय नौजवानों को मार्शल आर्ट की ट्रेनिंग दी और चाकू एवं तलवार चलाना सिखाया। पुलिस इन लोगों पर नजर रख रही थी, और उसका शक उस वक्त यकीन में तब्दील हो गया जब दूसरे राज्यों से आए लोगों ने फर्जी नाम और फर्जी आइडेंटिटी कार्ड्स के जरिए होटलों में कमरे लिये।

बिहार में लोगों को सोच-समझकर, ठोक-बजाकर PFI में शामिल किया जाता था। पहले देखा जाता था कि जिस शख्स को PFI में शामिल किया जा रहा है, वह पूरी तरह कट्टरपंथी बन चुका है या नहीं। संगठन का सदस्य बनाने के लिए हरेक नौजवान से फोन नंबर, आधार नंबर, वोटर आईडी कार्ड नंबर, पंचायत और विधानसभा क्षेत्र की जानकारी मांगी जाती थी। पुलिस ने बताया कि नौजवानों को पिछले दो महीने से हथियार चलाने की ट्रेनिंग दी जा रही थी।

पुलिस के मुताबिक, साजिश रचने वालों में सिमी का पूर्व सदस्य अतहर परवेज भी शामिल है। 2013 में पटना के गांधी मैदान में नरेंद्र मोदी की रैली में हुए ब्लास्ट को अंजाम देने वाले में भी अतहर परवेज का भाई शामिल था। अतहर परवेज पहले आतंकी संगठन SIMI का सदस्य रह चुका है, लेकिन जब 2001 में सिमी पर बैन लगा दिया गया तो वह SDPI और PFI का मेंबर बन गया।

अतहर परवेज ने सिमी के सदस्यों की मदद जारी रखी। बिहार में बम धमाकों के मामलों में सिमी के जो सदस्य गिरफ्तार हुए, कई साल तक जेल में रहे, उनमें से ज्यादातर आरोपियों की जमानत अतहर परवेज ने ली है। कहा जाता है कि वह सिमी के सदस्यों का ‘परमानेंट जमानती’ था। अब वह पटना पुलिस की गिरफ्त में है। उसका भाई गांधी मैदान में हुए बम धमाकों के मामले में जेल में बंद है।

इंडिया टीवी के संवाददाता नीतीश चंद्रा ने गुरुवार को पटना के नया टोला इलाके में अतहर परवेज के परिवार के सदस्यों से मुलाकात की, जिन्होंने दावा किया कि वह बेगुनाह है। उसके परिवार के सदस्यों ने कहा, ‘वह पांच वक्त के नमाजी हैं और मुल्क के खिलाफ किसी भी साजिश में शामिल नहीं हो सकता।’

PFI के महासचिव अनीस अहमद ने एक बयान जारी कर बिहार पुलिस द्वारा लगाए गए सभी आरोपों का खंडन किया है। उन्होंने कहा, इसी तरह की ‘कहानी’ पहले यूपी पुलिस ने भी बनाई थी, और ये सब बेबुनियाद बातें हैं। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि सरकार पुलिस के जरिए PFI को खत्म करने की साजिश रच रही है।

भारत को 2047 तक इस्लामिक देश बनाने की सोच पर आसानी से यकीन नहीं किया जा सकता है। लेकिन अगर PFI का बैकग्राउंड देखें, पिछले कुछ साल में इनकी हरकतें देखें तो लगता है कि यह खतरा जितना हम सोच सकते हैं उससे भी बड़ा है। कई बार सोशल मीडिया पर ऐसे वीडियो वायरल होते हैं, वॉट्सऐप पर मैसेज आते हैं जिनमें कहा जाता है कि अगले 50 साल में भारत में हिंदुओं से ज्यादा मुसलमानों की आबादी करने का प्लान बनाया गया है।

लोग आंकड़े देकर बताते हैं कि कैसे मुसलमानों की आबादी तेजी से बढ़ रही है और हिंदुओं की संख्या कम हो रही है। कई बार दूसरे मुल्कों के उदाहरण देकर समझाया जाता है कि कैसे भारत को इस्लामिक मुल्क बनाने की साजिश रची जा रही है। आमतौर पर लोग ऐसे मैसेज पर कोई ध्यान नहीं देते। इनको कोई वैरिफाई करने की कोशिश भी नहीं करता, लेकिन PFI के जो दस्तावेज सामने आए उसने लोगों के कान खड़े कर दिए। यह साफ दिखाता है कि भारत में बड़ी संख्या में ऐसे लोग हैं जो इस देश को इस्लामी मुल्क बनाने का ख्वाब देख रहे हैं।

अब चाहें PFI के महासचिव कितनी भी सफाई दें, अपने संगठन का कितना भी बचाव करें, लेकिन दस्तावेज झूठ नहीं बोलते। हाल में हुई घटनाएं झुठलाई नहीं जा सकतीं। चाहें दिल्ली के दंगे हों, यूपी की हिंसा हो, हिजाब को लेकर हुआ बवाल हो, CAA और NRC को लेकर हुए झगड़े हों, करौली के दंगे हों, अमरावती में उमेश कोल्हे की हत्या हो या फिर उदयपुर में कन्हैयालाल का गला काटने का मामला हो, सबके पीछे PFI का नाम सामने आया है। इसलिए PFI के दस्तावेजों को हल्के में नहीं लिया जा सकता।
