नवरात्रि के पहले दिन उत्तर प्रदेश के सभी जिलों के मंदिरों में दुर्गा सप्तशती का पाठ हुआ । राज्य सरकार ने इसके लिए हर जिले के हर मंदिर को एक लाख रुपये का दान दिया । विश्व हिंदू परिषद ने घोषणा की कि वह पूरे भारत में अगले 300 दिनों के लिए 100 करोड़ हनुमान चालीसा का पाठ करेगी। अयोध्या में राम मंदिर अब से 300 दिन बाद खोला जाएगा । यह पहली बार नहीं है जब हनुमान चालीसा का पाठ हो रहा है । राजनीतिक दल और धार्मिक संगठन अक्सर इस तरह का आयोजन करते हैं । मध्य प्रदेश में कांग्रेस नेता कमलनाथ इस तरह का आयोजन अक्सर करते रहते हैं । इसी तरह गुढ़ी पाड़वा त्योहार पर बुधवार को शिवसेना (उद्धव गुट), शिवसेना (शिंदे गुट), बीजेपी और राज ठाकरे की महाराष्ट्र नव निर्माण सेना के नेता बड़ी सभाएं आयोजित की । उद्धव ठाकरे के बेटे आदित्य ठाकरे का कहना है कि राजनीतिक फायदे के लिए त्योहारों का इस्तेमाल नहीं होना चाहिए । वह सही हो सकते हैं, लेकिन आज की राजनीति में ऐसी टिप्पणी केवल दिखावटी है । लगभग सभी राजनीतिक दल अपने हितों को साधने के लिए धार्मिक सभाओं का उपयोग करते हैं । बालासाहेब ठाकरे की शिवसेना की स्थापना हिंदुत्व विचारधारा पर की गई थी । जब तक वे भाजपा के साथ थे, उद्धव ठाकरे की भाषा भी वही थी। जब उद्धव ने एनसीपी और कांग्रेस से हाथ मिलाया तो उन्होंने हिंदुत्व के बारे में ज्यादा बोलने से परहेज किया । एकनाथ शिंदे इसका पूरा फायदा उठाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं।
कश्मीर में फिर से खुल गया शारदा पीठ मंदिर
हिंदू नववर्ष के पहले दिन गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के जरिए कुपवाड़ा जिले में शारदा पीठ मंदिर को जनता के लिए खोल दिया। यह पुनर्निर्मित मंदिर कश्मीर में नियंत्रण रेखा से 700 मीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। 1947 में, पाकिस्तानी हमलावरों ने घाटी पर हमला किया था और मंदिर को जला दिया था। आदि गुरु शंकराचार्य द्वारा निर्मित मुख्य शारदा पीठ पाक अधिकृत कश्मीर में 30 किमी दूर स्थित है। महबूबा मुफ्ती समेत तमाम राजनीतिक दलों ने इसका स्वागत किया है। 2014 में नरेंद्र मोदी के प्रधानमंत्री बनने के बाद से भारतभर के प्रमुख मंदिरों को नया रूप मिला है। काशी विश्वनाथ हो, उज्जैन का महाकालेश्वर मंदिर हो या सोमनाथ मंदिर, ये दुनियाभर के धार्मिक पर्यटकों के आकर्षण का केंद्र बने हुए हैं। इससे इन मंदिरों के आसपास रहने वाले लोगों को रोजगार का मौका मिला है। यह एक स्वागत योग्य कदम है।
छुट्टियों पर राजनीति
समाजवादी पार्टी के दो सांसद एस टी हसन और शफीकुर रहमान बर्क ने सवाल उठाया है कि बुधवार को नवरात्रि के लिए संसद में अवकाश क्यों घोषित किया गया । उन्होंने कहा, अगर हिंदू नववर्ष की छुट्टी दी जाती है तो रमजान की भी छुट्टी होनी चाहिए, जो दो दिन बाद आता है । मुझे लगता है कि सपा नेताओं को इसे मुद्दा बनाने की कोई जरूरत नहीं थी । संसद पहले से ही गतिरोध का सामना कर रही है और कोई काम नहीं हो रहा है । मुद्दा हिंदू नववर्ष या नवरात्र का नहीं है । उगादी, चैती चांद, गुढ़ी पाड़वा जैसे कई त्योहार भी एक ही दिन पड़ रहे थे और सांसद अपने निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों का दौरा करना चाहते थे । रमजान शुक्रवार से मनाया जाएगा । सभी धर्मों के लोगों को दूसरों को जश्न मनाने की अनुमति देनी चाहिए।
दिल्ली में लगे मोदी विरोधी पोस्टर
मंगलवार रात दिल्ली पुलिस ने आम आदमी पार्टी के हजारों पोस्टर जब्त किए और तीन प्रिंटिंग प्रेस मालिकों सहित छह लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया । आप नेताओं ने आरोप लगाया कि ‘मोदी हटाओ, देश बचाओ’ के पोस्टर इसलिए जब्त किए गए क्योंकि मोदी सरकार आम आदमी पार्टी से डरती है। दिल्ली पुलिस ने स्पष्ट किया कि ये कार्रवाई G20 बैठकों की तैयारी के सिलसिले में राजधानी दीवारों को साफ सुथरा रखने के अभियान का हिस्सा थी । वहीं बीजेपी ने गुरुवार को राजधानी के कुछ हिस्सों में ‘केजरीवाल हटाओ, दिल्ली बचाओ’ के पोस्टर लगाए । मुझे लगता है कि पोस्टर और होर्डिंग्स लगाना, पर्चे बांटना राजनीति का हिस्सा है और इन पर प्रतिबंध नहीं लगना चाहिए। समर्थकों का मनोबल बढ़ाने के लिए ऐसी गतिविधियों की जरूरत है । हालांकि आम आदमी पार्टी का यह दावा निराधार है कि मोदी सरकार इन पोस्टरों से डरती है। आम आदमी पार्टी अकस्र ऐसे आरोप लगाती है । पहले उनके नेता कहते थे कि मोदी सरकार हमारी शिक्षा नीति से डरती है, बाद में उन्होंने कहा, वह हमारे मोहल्ला क्लीनिक से डरती है, और फिर उन्होंने यह भी कहा, मोदी सरकार इसलिए डरती है क्योंकि हम गुजरात चुनाव लड़ रहे हैं । अगर आम आदमी पार्टी के नेता अक्सर इसी तरह का रोना रोते रहेंगे, तो इन बातों को कोई गंभीरता से नहीं लेगा।

On the first day of Navratri, Durga Saptashati recitation was held in temples of all districts of UP. The state government donated Rs one lakh to each temple in every district for the purpose. Vishwa Hindu Parishad announced it will conduct 100 crore Hanuman Chalisa recitations for the next 300 days across India. The Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be opened 300 days from now. This is not the first time Hanuman Chalisa recitals are taking place. Political parties and religious outfits frequently organize such recitals. In Madhya Pradesh, Congress leader Kamal Nath organizes such recitals frequently. Similarly, on Gudi Padwa festival, leaders of Shiv Sena (Uddhav), Shiv Sena (Shinde), BJP and Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena organized large gatherings. Uddhav Thackeray’s son Aditya Thackeray said, festivals must not be used for political advantage. He may be correct, but in today’s politics, such a remark is only cosmetic. Almost all political parties use religious gatherings to further their own ends. Balasaheb Thackeray’s Shiv Sena was founded on Hindutva ideology. Till the time he was with BJP, Uddhav Thackeray’s language, too, was the same. When Uddhav joined hands with NCP and Congress, he refrained speaking much about Hindutva. Eknath Shinde is trying to take full advantage of this.
SHARDA PEETH TEMPLE REOPENS IN KASHMIR
On the first day of Hindu New Year, Home Minister Amit Shah opened the Sharda Peeth temple to the public in Kupwara district. This renovated temple is located 700 metres away from Line of Control in Kashmir through video conferencing. In 1947, Pakistani raiders attacked the Valley, and burnt the temple. The main Sharda Peeth, built by Adi Guru Shankaracharya, is located 30 km away in Pak Occupied Kashmir. All political parties, including Mehbooba Mufti, have welcomed this. Major shrines across India have got new looks since the time Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014. Whether it is Kashi Vishwanath, or Mahakaleshwar temple of Ujjain or Somnath temple, they have become attractions for religious tourists from across the world. This has given a fillip to employment for people living near these temples. It is a welcome step.
POLITICS OVER HOLIDAYS
Two Samajwadi Party MPs, S T Hassan and Shafiqur Rahman Barq, have questioned why Wednesday was declared a holiday in Parliament for Navratri. The two SP MPs said, there was no mention of this holiday in the Parliament calendar. They said, if holiday is given for Hindu New Year, then there should be a holiday for Ramzan too, which comes two days later. I think, there was no need for SP leaders to make an issue out of it. Already Parliament is facing a logjam and no work is being done. The issue is not Hindu New Year or Navratra. Several festivals like Ugadi, Cheti Chand, Gudi Padwa also fell on the same day, and MPs wanted to visit their constituencies. Ramzan will be observed from Friday. People of all religions should allow others to celebrate.
ANTI-MODI POSTERS IN DELHI
On Tuesday night, Delhi Police seized thousands of Aam Aadmi posters and arrested six persons including three printing press owners. AAP leaders alleged that the posters ‘Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao’ were seized because Modi government is afraid of AAP. Delhi Police clarified that the action was part of a campaign to keep Delhi walls clean in preparation for G20 meetings. On Thursday, BJP put up ‘Kejriwal Hatao, Delhi Bachao’ posters in some parts of the capital. I think, putting up posters and hoardings, distributing leaflets are part of politics, and these should not be banned. Such activities are required to boost the morale of supporters. However, AAP’s claim that Modi government is afraid because of these posters is baseless. For AAP, this has become an endless litany. Earlier, their leaders used to say Modi government fears our education policy, later they said, it fears our Mohalla Clinics, and then they also said, Modi government fears because we are contesting Gujarat polls. If AAP leaders cry wolf too often, it becomes redundant.
मान सरकार ने अमृतपाल को सात महीने तक खुली छूट क्यों दी ?
खालिस्तान समर्थक अमृतपाल सिंह अभी भी छिपा हुआ है, पंजाब पुलिस ने उसके खिलाफ लुक आउट सर्कुलर और गैर-जमानती वारंट जारी करवाया है । उसकी अलग-अलग लुक में 7 तस्वीरें जारी की गई हैं । पंजाब और हरियाणा हाई कोर्ट ने राज्य सरकार को फटकार लगाते हुए पूछा कि 80 हजार पुलिस वाले क्या कर रहे थे, जब वे हथियार लेकर घूम रहे थे ? न्यायमूर्ति एन एस शेखावत की टिप्पणी पंजाब पुलिस के खिलाफ नहीं, बल्कि यह पंजाब सरकार की राजनीतिक इच्छाशक्ति के बारे में है । दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल की यह टिप्पणी कि ‘जो कोई भी भारत माता के खिलाफ आंख उठाएगा उसे बख्शा नहीं जाएगा’ सुनने में अच्छी तो लगती है लेकिन कांग्रेस की ओर से सवाल उठाए जा रहे हैं । अमृतपाल कब पंजाब आया? किसने उसे बड़ी हस्ती बनायी? जब पिछले महीने अमृतपाल और उसके समर्थकों ने अजनाला थाने का घेराव किया, पुलिसकर्मियों को घायल किया और अपने साथी को छुड़ाया, तब पंजाब सरकार क्यों सो रही थी? अमृतपाल के खिलाफ कार्रवाई करने में पंजाब पुलिस को एक महीना क्यों लग गया ? अमृतपाल और उसके चेले पिछले सात महीनों से पंजाब में अंडर ग्राउंड होकर काम नहीं कर रहे थे । वे खुलेआम सभाएं कर रहे थे, खालिस्तान की बात कर रहे थे, पर्चे और पोस्टर बांट रहे थे और पंजाब के नौजवानों को भड़का रहे थे । उस समय आम आदमी पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेताओं ने भारत माता के खिलाफ लगाये जा रहे नारे क्यों नहीं सुने ? ये ऐसे सवाल हैं जिनका जवाब देने की जरूरत है । यह राजनीतिक तकरार का समय नहीं है। देश के दुश्मन अमृतपाल सिंह को पकड़ना पहली प्राथमिकता है । इस मकसद को हासिल करने के लिए पंजाब पुलिस और राज्य सरकार को पूरा जोर लगाना चाहिए । मैंने पंजाब में कई लोगों से बात की । ज्यादातर ने कहा, पंजाब में इस वक्त हालात सामान्य है, क्योंकि पंजाब के लोग देशभक्त हैं, वे अपनी जन्मभूमि से प्यार करते हैं और वे नहीं चाहते कि पंजाब में दुबारा दुश्मन अपने सिर उठाएं ।
दिल्ली के बजट पर विवाद
राजनीतिक तकरार के कारण दिल्ली बजट एक दिन के लिए टालना पड़ा और बुधवार को वित्त मंत्री कैलाश गहलोत ने इसे विधानसभा में पेश किया। मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने इस देरी के लिए उपराज्यपाल और केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय को जिम्मेदार ठहराया, लेकिन बीजेपी ने केजरीवाल को केंद्र के सवालों के जवाब देने में देरी के लिए जिम्मेदार ठहराया। चाहे दिल्ली का बजट हो, एमसीडी के मेयर का चुनाव हो, अधिकारियों की नियुक्ति का सवाल हो, दिल्ली सरकार और केंद्र दोनों ही हमेशा से आमने-सामने रहे हैं । केजरीवाल केंद्र पर दिल्ली के लोगों को परेशान करने का आरोप लगाते हैं । इसका एक कारण यह है कि केजरीवाल दिल्ली को एक निर्वाचित विधायिका वाले केंद्र शासित प्रदेश के रूप में स्वीकार करने को तैयार नहीं हैं । दिल्ली को पूर्ण राज्य का दर्जा नहीं मिला है । यही मूल समस्या है । ऐसा पहली बार नहीं हुआ कि दिल्ली सरकार का बजट उपराज्यपाल के जरिए केंद्र के पास मंजूरी के लिए भेजा गया हो । एलजी के हस्ताक्षर के बाद बजट को विधानसभा में रखा जाता है । इससे पहले अरविंद केजरीवाल ने दिल्ली के बजट को 8 बार मंजूरी के लिए केंद्र के पास भेजा और हर बार नरेंद्र मोदी की सरकार ने इसे मंजूरी दी । इस दौरान कोई विवाद नहीं हुआ था । इस बार मंजूरी में देरी क्यों हुई ? दरअसल, केंद्र और केजरीवाल सरकार के बीच भरोसे की कमी है। दोनों एक दूसरे पर भरोसा नहीं करते। जब भी भरोसे की कमी होती है, तो आरोप तो लगते ही हैं।
‘मीर जाफर और जय चंद’
संसद में भी भाजपा और विपक्ष के बीच भरोसे की कमी है । नारेबाजी के कारण मंगलवार को भी गतिरोध जारी रहा । भाजपा प्रवक्ता संबित पात्रा ने विदेशी हस्तक्षेप की मांग करने के आरोप में राहुल गांधी को भारतीय राजनीति का ‘मीर जाफर’ कह दिया । बदले में कांग्रेस नेताओं ने भाजपा नेताओं को ‘जयचंद’ बताया। मीर जाफर वह सेनापति था जिसने पलासी की लड़ाई में बंगाल के नवाब सिराज उद-दौला को धोखा दिया और ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी को भारत में पैर जमाने में मदद की । इस पर पलटवार करते हुए कांग्रेस प्रवक्ता पवन खेड़ा ने बीजेपी को जयचंद बतायाय़ जयचंद ने पृथ्वीराज चौहान के खिलाफ लड़ाई में मुहम्मद गौरी की मदद की थी। इस जुबानी जंग में राजनीतिक दलों को कुछ फायदा तो हो सकता है, लेकिन आम आदमी को फायदा तभी होगा जब संसद का कामकाज फिर से शुरू होगा। अभी ऐसी संभावनाएं धूमिल हैं।
मेहुल चौकसी और इंटरपोल
पिछले साल नवंबर में इंटरपोल फाइलों के नियंत्रण आयोग (CCF) ने भगोड़े भारतीय व्यापारी मेहुल चोकसी का नाम रेड नोटिस सूची से हटा दिया, ऐसा खुलासा होने के बाद भाजपा और विपक्ष के बीच राजनीतिक बयानबाजी शुरू हो गई । चोकसी 13,000 करोड़ रुपये के पंजाब नेशनल बैंक धोखाधड़ी वाले मामले में वांछित है और 2018 में भारत से भागने के बाद इस समय एंटीगुआ और बारबूडा में छिपा हुआ है । सीबीआई ने अपने बयान में कहा, ” इंटरपोल को बता दिया गया है कि वांछित अपराधी मेहुल चोकसी एंटीगुआ और बारबूडा में चल रही प्रत्यर्पण कार्यवाही को पटरी से उतारने की हर संभव कोशिश कर रहा है, ताकि वह भारत में कानून की प्रक्रिया से बच सके। लेकिन काल्पनिक और अप्रमाणित अनुमानों के आधार पर, पांच सदस्यीय सीसीएफ (Commission for Control of Interpol Files) ने रेड कॉर्नर नोटिस को हटाने का निर्णय कर लिया , जिसकी सूचना नवंबर, 2022 में दी गई ।… सीबीआई ने इस निराधार और लापरवाह निर्णय तक पहुंचने में सीसीएफ द्वारा की गई गंभीर खामियों, प्रक्रियात्मक उल्लंघनों, और गलतियों की तरफ सीसीएफ का ध्यान आकर्षित है । सीबीआई का बयान अपने आप में विरोधाभासी है। एक तरफ उसका कहना है कि वह चोकसी के प्रत्यर्पण के लिए एंटीगुआ और बारबूडा की सरकार से बातचीत कर रही है और दूसरी ओर, उसने इंटरपोल की संस्था से चोकसी का नाम फिर से रेड कॉर्नर सूची में डालने के लिए कहा है । सीबीआई को अपनी गलती माननी चाहिए और तत्काल सुधार करना चाहिए। जब जांच एजेंसियां और उनके अधिकारी गलती करते हैं तो इसका खामियाज़ा सरकार को भुगतना पड़ता है।
WHY MANN GOVT ALLOWED AMRITPAL A FREE HAND FOR 7 MONTHS?
With pro-Khalistan preacher Amritpal Singh still in hiding, Punjab Police has issued a Look Out Circular and a non-bailable warrant against him. It has released seven pictures of him in different looks. Punjab and Haryana High Court lashed out at the state government and asked, ‘What were 80,000 police personnel doing when they were roaming about with weapons?’ Justice N S Shekhawat’s remark is not against Punjab Police but it is about the political will of the AAP government in Punjab. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s remark that ‘anybody who raises his eyes against Bharat Mata will not be spared’ sounds fine, but questions have been raised by Congress party. When did Amritpal come to Punjab and who made him a big figure? When Amritpal and his followers laid siege to Ajnala police station, injured policemen and got his associate freed last month, why was the Punjab government sleeping? It took one month for Punjab Police to take action against Amritpal. The pro-Khalistan preacher and his followers were not working underground in Punjab for the last seven months. They were openly holding public meetings, speaking about Khalistan, distributing leaflets and posters and inciting Punjabi youths. Why didn’t senior AAP leaders listen to the slogans against Bharat Mata at that time? These are questions that need answers. This is not the time for political wrangling. The first priority is to nab the nation’s enemy Amritpal Singh. Punjab police and state government must put their full weight for achieving this objective. I spoke to several people in Punjab. Most of them said, the situation in Punjab is normal, because the people of the state are patriots, they love India and they will never allow enemies to rear their head again in Punjab.
CONTROVERSY OVER DELHI BUDGET
The Delhi budget was placed in Assembly by Finance Minister Kailash Gahlot on Wednesday after it was postponed for a day due to political wrangling. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal blamed the Lt. Governor and Union Home Ministry for the delay, but BJP blamed Kejriwal for the delay in replying to queries from the Centre. Whether it is Delhi budget, or election of MCD Mayor, or appointment of officials, both Delhi government and the Centre are always at loggerheads. Kejriwal blames the Centre for ‘harassing the people of Delhi’. One reason could be that Kejriwal is unwilling to accept Delhi as a Union Territory having an elected legislature. It is not a full-fledged state. This is the core problem. It is not the first time that Delhi government’s budget was sent to the Centre for approval through the Lt. Governor. The budget is placed in assembly after the LG signs it. In the past, Arvind Kejriwal sent Delhi budget eight times to the Centre for approval, and every time Narendra Modi’s government approved it. There was no controversy. Why was the delay in approval this time? In fact, there is a trust deficit between the Centre and Kejriwal’s government. Both do not trust the other. Whenever there is lack of trust, allegations fly thick and thin.
‘MIR JAFAR AND JAI CHAND’
Parliament is also facing a trust of deficit between the ruling BJP and the opposition. The logjam continued on Tuesday due to slogan shouting. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra described Rahul Gandhi as a present-day ‘Mir Jafar’ of Indian politics for allegedly seeking foreign intervention. Congress leaders, in return, described BJP leaders as ‘Jaichand’. Mir Jafar was the commander who betrayed the Nawab of Bengal Siraj ud-Daullah in the Battle of Plassey and helped East India Company to gain foothold in India. In retaliation, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera described BJP as Jaichand, who helped Muhammad Ghori in the battle against Prithviraj Chauhan. Political parties may gain some advantage in this battle of words, but the common man will benefit only when Parliament resumes work. For now, the chances are bleak.
MEHUL CHOKSI AND INTERPOL RED CORNER LIST
There was political slanging between BJP and the opposition, after it was revealed that Commission for Control of Interpol Files (CCF) has removed fugitive Indian businessman Mehul Choksi’s name from the Red Notice list in November, 2022. Choksi is wanted in the Rs 13,000 crore Punjab National Bank fraud and is presently hiding in Antigua and Barbuda after fleeing from India in 2018. A CBI statement said, “It was clarified that the desperately wanted criminal Mehul Choksi has been making all possible attempts to derail ongoing extradition proceedings in Antigua and Barbuda, to evade the process of law in India. However, based on mere imaginary conjectures and unproven surmises, a five-member CCF chamber has taken a decision on the deletion of Red Notice, communicated in November, 2022…. CBI has taken up with CCF the serious shortcomings, procedural violations, overreach of mandate and mistakes committed by CCF in the manner of reaching this unfounded and perfunctory decision.” CBI statement is in itself contradictory. On one hand, it says that it is in talks with the government of Antigua and Barbuda for the extradition of Choksi, and on the other hand, it has asked Interpol body to put Choksi’s name again in the Red Corner list. CBI must admit its mistake and take immediate remedial action. When investigative agencies and their officers make mistakes, it is the government which has to bear the brunt.

खालिस्तान समर्थक अमृतपाल सिंह के लिए पूरे देश में तलाश जारी है। पंजाब पुलिस ने तीन दिन पहले अमृतपाल के संगठन ‘वारिस पंजाब दे’ के खिलाफ बड़े पैमाने पर कार्रवाई की थी जिसके बाद से ही वह गायब है। पुलिस ने अमृतपाल के चाचा हरजीत सिंह, फाइनेंसर दलजीत सिंह कलसी, भगवंत सिंह, गुरमीत सिंह और ‘प्रधानमंत्री’ बाजेका सहित 5 लोगों पर NSA लगा दिया है और ये सभी असम की डिब्रूगढ़ जेल में बंद हैं। मुझे लगता है कि अमृतपाल सिंह के खिलाफ एक्शन में थोड़ी देरी हुई है, इसलिए उसे सपोर्ट करने वालों के हौसले बढ़े। बेहतर होता इस शख्स के खिलाफ उसी दिन सख्त कार्रवाई होती जिस दिन वह अपने हथियारबंद साथियों के साथ पुलिस स्टेशन पर हमला करने पहुंचा था। खैर, देर आए, दुरूस्त आए। कम से अब एक्शन तो शुरू हुआ है और इसे अंजाम तक जरूर पहुंचना चाहिए। अमृतपाल सिंह सिर्फ 30 साल का है, और पिछले साल अगस्त में ही दुबई से भारत लौटा है। ऐसा कैसे संभव है कि सिर्फ 7 महीने में उसने हथियार भी जमा कर लिए, अपना नेटवर्क भी फैला लिया? उसने करोड़ों रुपये की गाड़ियां कैसे से खरीदी और बुलेटप्रूफ जैकेट कहां से ली? वह सिर्फ 7 महीने में इतना ताकतवर कैसे हो गया कि सरकार को चुनौती देने लगा? अब अमृतपाल के नेटवर्क की पूरी जांच जरूरी है, उसके फंडिंग का सोर्स पता लगना जरूरी है। देश में और देश के बाहर उसके मददगार कौन हैं, उनके नाम सामने आना जरूरी है। लेकिन ये सब तभी पता लगेगा जब अमृतपाल सिंह पुलिस की गिरफ्त में आएगा। केंद्र और राज्य, दोनों की एजेंसियों को प्रभावी ढंग से मिलकर काम करना चाहिए क्योंकि यह राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा और देश की अखंडता का मामला है। इसमें न तो क्रेडिट लेने की होड़ मचनी चाहिए और न ही सियासत होनी चाहिए।
एक्शन में योगी का बुलडोजर
उत्तर प्रदेश के प्रयागराज में सोमवार को गैंगस्टर अतीक अहमद के शार्पशूटर मोहम्मद गुलाम रसूल के घर पर बुलडोजर चलाकर उसे मिट्टी में मिला दिया गया। गुलाम रसूल अभी भी पुलिस की गिरफ्त से बाहर है। उसके सिर पर 5 लाख रुपये का इनाम है। उसने ही उमेश पाल पर दिनदहाड़े फायरिंग की थी, जिससे उनकी मौके पर ही मौत हो गई थी। अब वह अंडरग्राउंड है और उसका पूरा परिवार सड़क पर आ गया है। यह सही है कि उसके अपराध की सजा पूरे परिवार को भुगतनी पड़ रही है। बताया यह गया है कि मुहम्मद गुलाम के इलाज पर अतीक अहमद ने 8 लाख रुपये खर्च किए थे, इसलिए वह उसके एक हुक्म पर किसी की भी जान लेने को तैयार रहता था। मुहम्मद गुलाम को अतीक का अहसान तो याद रहा, लेकिन उसे उस मां का कर्ज याद नहीं आया जिसने उसे जन्म दिया और पाल पोसकर बड़ा किया। कुछ लोग आजकल बुलडोजर एक्शन पर सवाल उठा रहे हैं, लेकिन मुझे लगता है कि जो अपराधी दूसरों की जमीन पर, घरों पर कब्जा करते हैं. रंगदारी बसूलते हैं, दहशत फैलाने के लिए खूनखराबा करते हैं, कानून को चुनौती देते हैं, उनके खिलाफ इसी तरह के बुलडोजर एक्शन की जरूरत है। इससे अपराधियों के दिल में कानून की दहशत पैदा होती है और आम लोगों के दिलों से अपराधियों का खौफ खत्म होता है।
संसद में कामकाज ठप
संसद के दोनों सदनों में मंगलवार को भी गतिरोध जारी रहा और कोई कामकाज नहीं हो पाया। विपक्षी सांसदों ने सदन के अंदर और बाहर बैनर और पोस्टर लहराए। इस पूरे मामले में दो बातें बिल्कुल साफ हैं: पहली तो यह कि राहुल गांधी ने लंदन में भारतीय लोकतंत्र के बारे में जो कहा उसे उचित नहीं ठहराया जा सकता। और दूसरी यह कि उनके बयान ने बीजेपी को पलटवार करने का मौका दिया है। कांग्रेस की ये बात ठीक हो सकती है कि अडानी के मुद्दे पर बहस से बचने के लिए राहुल के बयान को मुद्दा बनाया जा रहा है। कांग्रेस को अब तक तो यह मालूम हो जाना चाहिए था कि अगर बीजेपी को विरोधी दल कोई मौका देंगे तो बीजेपी के नेता उसे छोड़ेंगे नहीं। वे उस मौके का पूरा इस्तेमाल करेंगे। जिम्मेदार जो भी हो, संसद का काम न चलने से नुकसान जनता का होता है, नुकसान लोकतंत्र का होता है। लोकसभा अध्यक्ष को कोशिश करनी चाहिए कि सभी पार्टियों के नेताओं को साथ बिठाकर इस गतिरोध को तोड़ा जाए। कई विरोधी दल चाहते हैं कि हंगामा खत्म हो, संसद चले ताकि वे अपने मुद्दे उठा सकें और सरकार से जवाब मांग सकें। शिरोमणि अकाली दल के सांसद तो रोज संसद में तख्तियां लेकर आते हैं जिन पर लिखा होता है ‘सदन में काम होने दो’। ममता बनर्जी की तृणमूल कांग्रेस भी चाहती है कि सदन में चर्चा शुरू हो। तृणमूल के नेता कांग्रेस द्वारा बुलाई गई विपक्षी पार्टियों की बैठकों में भी हिस्सा नहीं लेते।
राहुल को क्यों पसंद नहीं करतीं ममता
तृणमूल कांग्रेस की प्रमुख ममता बनर्जी ने कहा है कि ‘राहुल गांधी मोदी की सबसे बड़ी टीआरपी’ हैं। उन्होंने बीजेपी पर ज्वलंत मुद्दों से ध्यान हटाने के लिए राहुल गांधी को हीरो बनाने की कोशिश करने का आरोप लगाया है। हाल ही में हुए विधानसभा उपचुनाव में कांग्रेस द्वारा उनके उम्मीदवार को हराए जाने के बाद से वह बौखलाई हुई हैं। अखिलेश यादव के साथ अपनी मुलाकात के दौरान ममता बनर्जी ने बिल्कुल साफ कर दिया कि मोदी के खिलाफ विरोधी दलों की एकता के केंद्र राहुल गांधी नहीं हो सकते। उन्होंने कहा कि राहुल गांधी चुनावों में जीत नहीं दिला सकते। वहीं दूसरी तरफ, कांग्रेस साफ कह चुकी है कि उसके बिना विरोधी दलों की एकता बेमानी है। इस बात में भी कोई शक नहीं है कि जो राहुल गांधी का विरोध करेगा, कांग्रेस उससे कोई नाता नहीं रखेगी। मजे की बात यह है कि ममता बनर्जी कह रहीं हैं कि बीजेपी ने राहुल को हीरो बनाया इसीलिए संसद ठप हुई, और दूसरी तरफ कांग्रेस कह रही है कि ममता और मोदी ने राहुल को तबाह करने के लिए समझौता किया है। अगर दोनों पार्टियों की लाइन इतनी क्लियर है तो फिर 2024 के चुनावों से पहले विपक्षी दलों की एकता दूर की कौड़ी ही नजर आती है।
AMRITPAL SHOULD HAVE BEEN CORNERED MUCH BEFORE
A nationwide hunt is on for pro-Khalistan preacher Amritpal Singh, who remains elusive after Punjab Police carried out a massive crackdown against his outfit ‘Waris Punjab De’ three days ago. Police has invoked National Security Act against five persons, including Amritpal Singh’s uncle Harjit Singh, financier Daljit Singh Kalsi, Bhagwant Singh, Gurmeet Singh and ‘Pradhanmantri’ Bajeka, all of whom have been lodged in Dibrugarh jail of Assam. I feel there was delay in taking action against Amritpal Singh, because of which his supporters gained courage. He should have been arrested the day his supporters laid siege to Ajnala police station. Better late than never. The police action must now be taken to its logical conclusion. Amritpal Singh is 30 years old, he returned from Dubai in August last year. How could it be possible for him to amass so many arms and ammunitions and spread his network? How did he purchase luxury vehicles worth crores of rupees and bulletproof jackets? How did he become so powerful as to challenge the State? A detailed probe into his network must be done and the sources of funding must be traced, both inside and outside the country. Police must find out who helped him and reveal their names. This can happen only when Amritpal is nabbed. Both the central and state agencies must coordinate effectively because it is a matter of national security and territorial integrity. There must be no attempt to take undue credit, nor there should be any political mudslinging.
YOGI BULLDOZER IN ACTION
On Monday, the home of gangster Atiq Ahmed’s sharpshooter Mohammed Ghulam Rasool was demolished with the help of bulldozers in Prayag, Uttar Pradesh. Ghulam Rasool is still evading police. He carries a reward of Rs five lakh on his head. He was the shooter who fired at Umesh Pal in broad daylight, killing him on the spot. He is now underground and his family has no roof on its head. The punishment for his crime is being borne by his family. It was reported that Atiq Ahmed spent Rs 8 lakh for Ghulam Rasool’s treatment. This was the reason why became a killer. He remembered the debt that he owed to Atiq Ahmed, but he forgot about his mother who nurtured him since childhood. There are people who question why bulldozers are being used to demolish properties of those hiding. But I feel that bulldozer action is required against those who challenge law, commit murders, extort money, and grab other’s properties. This will create a sense of fear in the minds of criminals, and the common man can heave a sigh of relief.
LOGJAM IN PARLIAMENT
The logjam in both Houses of Parliament continued on Tuesday, with no official business transacted. Opposition MPs displayed banners and posters both inside and outside the House. Two points are clear from the current deadlock: One, what Rahul Gandhi said in London about Indian democracy cannot be justified. And two, his remark has given a handle to the BJP for counter-attack. Congress may be right in saying that Rahul’s remark is being made an issue in order to bypass the demand for debate on Adani controversy. Congress should have known by now that if the opposition gives any chance, BJP will not leave them easily. They will utilize it to the fullest extent. The moot point is that because of this logjam, it is the people who are bearing the brunt since Parliament is not working. It is a loss for our democracy. The Speaker of Lok Sabha should try to bring all parties on board to break the logjam. There are some opposition parties who want that pandemonium should end, so that they can raise their issues and seek government’s replies. MPs from Shiromani Akali Dal come daily to Parliament with placards on which it is written ‘Allow the House to work’. Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress also wants the House to function. TMC leaders do not take part in meetings of opposition parties convened by Congress.
WHY MAMATA DOES NOT LIKE RAHUL
Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee has said that ‘Rahul Gandhi is Modi’s biggest TRP’. She has accused BJP of trying to make a hero out of Rahul Gandhi to divert attention from burning issues. She is peeved after Congress defeated her candidate in the recent assembly byelection. During her meeting with Akhilesh Yadav, Mamata Banerjee made it quite clear that Rahul Gandhi cannot lead a united anti-Modi front. She has said that Rahul Gandhi cannot help in winning elections. On the other hand, Congress has clearly said that any opposition unity without Congress will be fruitless. Congress is not going to tie up with any leader who opposed Rahul Gandhi. It is really strange that on one hand Mamata is blaming BJP for trying to make a hero out of Rahul, and on the other hand, Congress is blaming Mamata for having entered into a secret deal with Modi to keep Rahul out of power. If both the parties are quite clear about their political line, opposition unity before the 2024 elections will continue to be a mirage.

मोदी के खिलाफ विशेषाधिकार हनन नोटिस
संसद में पूरा हफ्ता दोनों पक्षों के हंगामे के कारण बेकार जाने के बाद अब कांग्रेस ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के खिलाफ विशेषाधिकार प्रस्ताव नोटिस दिया है। पार्टी महासचिव के सी वेणुगोपाल ने अपने नोटिस में आरोप लगाया कि मोदी ने संसद में सोनिया और राहुल गांधी के खिलाफ ‘अपमानजनक, टिप्पणी की और पूछा कि गांधी परिवार के सदस्य अब नेहरू उपनाम का उपयोग क्यों नहीं कर रहे हैं। कांग्रेस नेताओं का कहना है कि गांधी और नेहरू उपनामों का सीधा संबंध महात्मा गांधी और पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू से है और बीजेपी इन उपनामों का मजाक उड़ा रही है। कांग्रेस के विशेषाधिकार प्रस्ताव में कोई दम नहीं है। चूंकि भाजपा के एक सांसद ने राहुल गांधी के खिलाफ विशेषाधिकार प्रस्ताव का नोटिस दिया था, पार्टी ने एक और विशेषाधिकार नोटिस देकर जवाबी कार्रवाई करने का फैसला किया। अब सभापति को फैसला करना है।
सिसोदिया की हिरासत बढ़ी

CONGRESS PRIVILEGE MOTION AGAINST MODI
With the entire week in Parliament going waste due to pandemonium from both sides, the Congress has given a privilege motion notice against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Party general secretary K. C. Venugopal, in his notice alleged that Modi made ‘derogatory, insulting, distasteful and derogatory’ remarks against Sonia and Rahul Gandhi in Parliament by asking why Gandhi family members are no more using Nehru surname. SISODIA’S CUSTODY EXTENDED
A Delhi court on Friday extended former Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s judicial custody by another five days. Since Enforcement Directorate and CBI are probing the liquor scam, it is for the court to decide on the basis of evidence. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Telangana CM K. Chandrshekhar Rao’s party BRS are alleging that investigative agencies are being misused against opposition. But Congress is in favour of probe into Delhi liquor scam. But the same party changes its stand when ED starts probing the National Herald case. Trinamool Congress MPs did not join the protests by Congress and other opposition parties on Adani issue.
AKHILESH-MAMATA FRONT
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav met Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata on Friday. Both the parties announced they would forge an opposition front minus Congress. Every opposition leader worth the name knows that it is difficult to defeat Modi and BJP in elections if the parties remain disunited. On the question of who the potential PM candidate will be to counter Modi, most of the opposition leaders say it will be decided after the poll results are out in 2024. Many opposition leaders are unwilling to accept Rahul Gandhi as their leader, and Congress is unwilling to accept any leader except Rahul. KCR does not like Nitish Kumar and vice-versa from Nitish. Akhilesh accepts Mamata, but Mamata is unwilling to accept both the Left and Congress. Kejriwal is also in the queue. But Congress says Kejriwal is ‘B’ team of Congress. Too many claims and efforts are being made for opposition unity, but the moment the question of projecting a leader to counter Modi arises, the facade of unity fades.
राहुल गांधी माफी नहीं मांगेंगे
संसद के ठप पड़े पांच दिन हो गए हैं । आज भी दोनों तरफ से नारे लगे, हंगामा हुआ और दोनों सदनों की कार्यवाही सोमवार तक स्थगित कर दी गई । बजट सत्र का दूसरा चरण सोमवार को शुरु हुआ था, और तब से लेकर अब तक कोई कामकाज नहीं हो सका है। कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने ब्रिटेन में भारतीय लोकतंत्र पर दिए अपने बयान को लेकर संसद में बोलने का वादा किया था । बीजेपी अध्यक्ष जेपी नड्डा ने शुक्रवार को कहा कि राहुल गांधी ने विदेशी धरती पर जाकर भारत का अपमान किया है, उन्हें माफी मांगनी चाहिए। विपक्ष अडानी मुद्दे को लेकर संयुक्त संसदीय जांच की मांग पर अड़ा हुआ है । राहुल गांधी ने कल कहा था कि ‘ यह लोकतंत्र की परीक्षा होगी कि क्या मुझे चार मंत्रियों द्वारा लगाए गए आरोपों का जवाब देने की अनुमति दी जाती है या मुझे चुप रहने के लिए कहा जाता है । मेरे इर्द-गिर्द तमाशा खड़ा करना ध्यान भटकाने की रणनीति है । सरकार पीएम मोदी और उद्योगपति गौतम अडानी के बीच संबंधों के सवाल का जवाब नहीं देना चाहती है।’ राहुल गांधी पिछले 9 साल से अंबानी और अडानी को लेकर आरोप लगाते रहे हैं। राहुल आज भी वही बातें दोहराते हैं। इसलिए उनसे यह उम्मीद करना तो बेकार है कि उन्होंने लंदन में भारत के लोकतंत्र को लेकर जो सवाल उठाए, उसके लिए माफी मांगेंगे। जब मीडियाकर्मियों ने राहुल से लंदन वाले बयान पर पूछा तो उन्होंने कहा कि इस पर वो संसद में बोलेंगे क्योंकि ये सवाल संसद में उठाए गए हैं। लेकिन राहुल भूल गए कि बीजेपी ने यह सवाल संसद के बाहर भी उठाए हैं। इसलिए यह तो तय है कि राहुल गांधी माफी नहीं मांगेंगे।

दिल्ली की एक अदालत ने पूर्व उप मुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया की न्यायिक हिरासत पांच दिनों के लिए बढ़ा दी है। ईडी ने कोर्ट से मनीष सिसोदिया की हिरासत अवधि बढ़ाने का अनुरोध किया था। ईडी के वकील ने कोर्ट में कहा कि सिसोदिया ने अपने कई मोबाइल फोन नष्ट कर दिये हैं और इस मामले में अन्य आरोपियों के साथ आमने-सामने बैठाकर पूछताछ करने की जरूरत है। कल सीबीआई ने 2015 में गठित फीडबैक यूनिट में कथित अनियमितताओं को लेकर सिसोदिया के खिलाफ एफआईआर दर्ज की । सीबीआई ने अपनी एफआईआर में आरोप लगाया कि नेताओं के बारे में खुफिया जानकारी इकट्ठा करने के लिए फीडबैक यूनिट बनाई गई थी और गृह मंत्रालय ने ‘राजनीतिक जासूसी’ के लिए सिसोदिया पर मुकदमा चलाने की मंजूरी दी थी। दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने ट्वीट किया-‘प्रधानमंत्री की योजना मनीष के खिलाफ कई झूठे मुकदमे चलाने और लंबे समय तक उन्हें हिरासत में रखने की है।’ ये बात सही है कि सीबीआई ने जो केस दर्ज किया है उसमें भ्रष्टाचार का इल्जाम छोटा लगता है। फीडबैक यूनिट में कुल 17 भर्तियां हुईं। सिर्फ एक करोड़ का बजट था जिसमें से ढाई-ढाई लाख दो प्राइवेट कंपनियों को भुगतान का दावा किया गया है। ये राशि बहुत छोटी लग सकती है लेकिन फीडबैक यूनिट का इस्तेमाल राजनीतिक विरोधियों की जासूसी के लिए किया गया। ये गंभीर आरोप है। अगर सीबीआई इस केस में सबूत सामने रखती है और आरोप सिद्ध करती है तो केजरीवाल की कानूनी और राजनीतिक मुसीबत बहुत बढ़ जाएगी। क्योंकि जिन लोगों की जासूसी का दावा किया जा रहा है उनमें सिर्फ बीजेपी या कांग्रेस के लोग नहीं हैं, उनमें केजरीवाल की अपनी पार्टी के लोग भी हैं। अगर यह मामला साबित हो जाता है तो यह मैसेज जाएगा कि केजरीवल को अपने लोगों पर भी भरोसा नहीं है। वे अपने लोगों की भी जासूसी करवाते हैं।
तेजस्वी यादव और सीबीआई
नौकरी के बदले जमीन घोटाले में सीबीआई ने बिहार के उप मुख्यमंत्री तेजस्वी यादव को गुरुवार को पूछताछ के लिए बुलाया था लेकिन तेजस्वी के वकील दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट चले गए। तेजस्वी की तरफ से कहा गया कि बिहार में बजट सेशन चल रहा है और उनका पटना में रहना जरूरी है। वे दिल्ली में सीबीआई के दफ्तर में पेश नहीं हो सकते। उन्हें मार्च के बाद की कोई तारीख दी जाए। इसके बाद हाईकोर्ट ने तेजस्वी को पूछताछ के लिए 25 मार्च को सीबीआई के सामने पेश होने का आदेश दिया। आरजेडी नेताओं का कहना है कि तेजस्वी को गिरफ्तारी का कोई डर नहीं है। सीबीआई के वकील का कहना है कि एजेंसी उन्हें कुछ दस्तावेज दिखाना चाहती है और इस संबंध में तेजस्वी से पूछताछ की जरूरत है। वहीं बीजेपी नेता सुशील मोदी का कहना है कि तेजस्वी कितने भी बहाने कर लें वे जांच से नहीं बच पाएंगे। ‘उन्हें सीबीआई को यह बताना पड़ेगा कि 23 साल की उम्र में उनके पास करोड़ों की संपत्ति कहां से आई?’ लालू के खिलाफ जांच को बीजेपी भ्रष्टाचार का पक्का केस बता रही है लेकिन आरजेडी इसे बुजुर्ग और बीमार लालू को परेशान और बदनाम करने का खेल बताकर भावनात्मक मुद्दे के तौर पर पेश कर रही है। तेजस्वी अपने बचाव में कहते हैं, ‘मेरे पिता लालू प्रसाद 2009 तक रेल मंत्री थे। उस वक्त तो मेरी दाढ़ी मूंछ भी नहीं आई थी। फिर मैं उस उम्र में घोटाला कैसे कर सकता हूं?’ अब घोटाला हुआ या नहीं इसके सबूत सीबीआई जुटाएगी और फैसला अदालत करेगी। लेकिन इस वक्त तो ये लगता है कि जिस तरह लालू यादव व्हीलचेयर पर बैठकर कोर्ट में पहुंचे थे, वो बिहार के लोगों को बुरा लगा और इसका फायदा तेजस्वी को मिल सकता है।
महबूबा ने शिवलिंग पर जल चढ़ाया
जम्मू-कश्मीर की पूर्व सीएम महबूबा मुफ्ती पुंछ जिले के नवग्रह मंदिर में शिवलिंग पर जल चढ़ाकर मौलवियों के निशाने पर आ गईं । कई मौलवी महबूबा की आलोचना करने लगे और इसे गैर इस्लामिक बताया । वहीं जम्मू-कश्मीर बीजेपी के अध्यक्ष रवींद्र रैना ने महबूबा की तारीफ की। महबूबा मुफ्ती ने कहा-‘इस मंदिर को हमारे पीडीपी के नेता यशपाल शर्मा ने बनवाया था। मैं मंदिर को अंदर से जाकर देखना चाहती थी। मुझे इस्लाम के उसूल पता हैं और कोई मौलाना मुझे इस्लाम न सिखाए। यह मेरा निजी मामला है, इसमें ज्यादा बहस की जरूरत नहीं है।’ महबूबा मुफ्ती अगर मंदिर में चली गईं तो इस पर इतनी हाय तौबा मचाने की क्या जरूरत है। अगर उन्होंने शिवलिंग पर जल चढ़ा दिया तो इसमें इतना परेशान होने की क्या जरूरत है। हमने कई बार डॉक्टर फारुक अब्दुल्ला को श्रीनगर के शंकराचार्य मंदिर में पूजा करते देखा है। मैंने भी फारुक साहब के साथ उस मंदिर में बैठकर पूजा की है और उन्हें भगवान राम के भजन गाते सुना है। शायद वो ज़माना और था जब ऐसी बातों को कोई मुद्दा नहीं बनाता था। अब आज के ज़माने में हर छोटी सी बात को पहाड़ बनाने का फैशन है। हर तिल को ताड़ बनाने का चलन है।
RAHUL WILL NOT APOLOGIZE
Parliament continued to remain paralyzed with both Houses adjourned till Monday due to slogan shouting by members from both sides. Both the Houses have not transacted any business since the second phase of budget session began on Monday. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had promised to clarify about his remarks on democracy that he made in Britain. BJP president J. P. Nadda on Friday demanded that Rahul must apologize for insulting India on foreign soil. The opposition is demanding a joint parliamentary probe into Adani controversy. Rahul Gandhi said on Thursday that “it will be a test of democracy whether I am allowed to respond to allegations made by four ministers, or whether I am told to shut up. ..The tamasha (spectacle) around me is a diversionary tactic and the government does not want to answer questions about the nature of relationship between PM Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani”. For the last nine years, Rahul had been alleging how Ambani and Adani are getting special favours. He is only repeating his allegations. It will be futile to expect an apology from him for his remarks about Indian democracy in Britain. When media personnel asked him about his “democracy” remarks, Rahul said, he would like to speak inside Parliament first. But he probably forgot that BJP has raised and will continue to raise this issue outside Parliament too. It is, therefore, a foregone conclusion that Rahul is not going to apologize for his remarks.
SISODIA IN JAIL
Former Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s judicial custody was extended for five days by a Delhi court after Enforcement Directorate sought extension alleging he had destroyed his cell phones and needs to be confronted before other accused. Meanwhile, on Thursday, CBI registered an FIR against Sisodia for alleged irregularities in Delhi government’s Feedback Unit set up in 2015. In its FIR, CBI alleged that the Feedback Unit was created to collect sensitive intelligence about politicians, and the Home Ministry had given approval to prosecute Sisodia for ‘political snooping’. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal promptly tweeted: “PM’s plan is to slap several false cases against Manish and keep him in custody for a long period. Sad for the country!”. It is true the amount of corruption in this case is small. Seventeen posts in FBU were filled, and only Rs 2.5 lakh each was paid to two private companies out of a total budget of Rs 1 crore. The amount may be small, but the allegation of ‘political snooping’ is serious. If CBI comes forth with concrete evidence and proves its charges in court, Kejriwal could face legal and political difficulties. Leaders against whom snooping was ordered were not from BJP or Congress, but from Aam Aadmi Party. If the charges are proved, the message will go out that Kejriwal does not trust his own people and he snoops on them.
TEJASHWI YADAV AND CBI
CBI had summoned Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav for questioning on Thursday, but instead of appearing, his lawyer went to Delhi High Court and promised that he would appear before CBI on March 25. RJD leaders said Tejashwi is not afraid of being arrested, while CBI advocate said he is needed for questioning because the agency wants to show him some documents. BJP leader Sushil Modi said, Tejashwi will not be spared, no matter what excuse he gives. “He must tell CBI how he amassed crores worth properties at the age of 23”, Sushil Modi said. While BJP claims the probe against Lalu’s family as a watertight case of corruption, RJD is portraying this as an emotional issue about a sick and old politician like Lalu Prasad being harassed by the agency. Tejashwi, in his defence says, his father Lalu was Railway Minister till 2009, and at that time, he did not even grow moustache and beard. “How can I indulge in corruption at that age?”, he says. It is now up to the CBI to prove in court whether a scam did take place or not. But at this moment, visuals of Lalu sitting in a wheelchair and appearing in court, may hurt the feelings of people in Bihar, and Tejashwi may reap some advantage.
MEHBOOBA OFFERS WATER TO SHIVLING
Former Jammu & Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti is drawing flak from Muslim clerics for offering water to Shivling at the Navagraha temple in Poonch district. While BJP leader Ravinder Raina praised her, several Muslim clerics said, what she has done is not permitted in Islam. Mehbooba said, “I visited the temple because it was built by our PDP party leader Yashpal Sharma…I know what is Islam, and I don’t need any Maulana to teach me. It is my personal choice and there is no need to debate.” I do not understand why so much hullabaloo is being created over this. I have seen former CM Dr Farooq Abdullah praying several times at the Shankaracharya temple in Srinagar. I was present and I offered prayer with him at the temple. I have heard Farooq Abdullah singing bhajans for Lord Ram. During those days, nobody made it an issue, but times have changed. A small matter is being blown out of proportion.
संसद में चार दिनों से कामकाज ठप
संसद के दोनों सदनों में पक्ष और विपक्ष की ओर से हो रही नारेबाजी के कारण पिछले चार दिनों से कामकाज ठप है। राहुल गांधी के ‘लोकतंत्र पर हमले’ वाले बयान को देश का अपमान बताते हुए बीजेपी उनसे माफी की मांग कर रही है, वहीं सभी विपक्षी दल अडानी विवाद की जांच के लिए संयुक्त संसदीय समिति के गठन की मांग कर रहे हैं । बृहस्पतिवार को राहुल गांधी पहली बार संसद पहुंचे और उन्होंने कहा कि अगर उन्हें अनुमति दी जाए तो वे इसपर कुछ बोलना चाहेंगे । अहम बात यह है कि राहुल गांधी ने ब्रिटेन में लोकतंत्र का गला घोंटने की बात करके और संसद में बोलने से रोकने का इल्जाम लगाकर बीजेपी को एक बड़ा मुद्दा दे दिया है । अब विरोधी दलों के नेताओं को लग रहा है कि राहुल के चक्कर में उनका नुकसान हो गया है । अडानी के नाम पर उन्होंने जो कैंपेन खड़ा किया था उसकी हवा निकलती जा रही है । इस समय हालत ये है कि दोनों पक्ष संसद और मीडिया का इस्तेमाल एक-दूसरे पर हावी होने के लिए कर रहे हैं। दोनों जनता के सामने साबित करना चाहते हैं कि मेरी कमीज़ तुम्हारी कमीज़ से ज्यादा सफेद है । इस चक्कर में संसद का काम ठप पड़ा है। ये जनता के पैसे की बर्बादी है ।
अदालत में व्हीलचेयर पर लालू
राष्ट्रीय जनता दल के सुप्रीमो लालू प्रसाद बुधवार को ‘जमीन के बदले नौकरी’ मामले में दिल्ली की एक अदालत में पेश हुए । वे व्हीलचेयर पर बैठकर पत्नी राबड़ी देवी और बेटी मीसा भारती के साथ अदालत पहुंचे । अदालत ने लालू, राबड़ी और मीसा समेत सभी 15 आरोपियों को जमानत दे दी । इस मामले की अगली सुनवाई 29 मार्च को होगी । लालू को जमानत की खबर मिलते ही आरजेडी के खेमे में जश्न का माहौल बन गया । ऐसा लग रहा था मानो लालू प्रसाद की जीत हो गई है । चूंकि इस मामले में लालू यादव समेत किसी भी आरोपी को सीबीआई ने जांच के दौरान गिरफ्तार नहीं किया जबकि चार्जशीट भी फाइल हो चुकी है, इसलिए अदालत ने इन्हें जमानत दे दी । सुप्रीम कोर्ट के कई फैसले हैं जिसमें साफ-साफ कहा गया है कि अगर जांच के दौरान गिरफ्तारी नहीं हुई हो और चार्जशीट फाइल हो चुकी हो तो कुछ कानूनों के तहत दर्ज हुए केसों को छोड़ कर बाकी मामलों में आरोपी को जमानत मिलनी चाहिए । इस केस का मेरिट कुछ भी हो लेकिन जिसने भी लालू को मास्क लगाए व्हील चेयर पर बैठकर अदालत में जाते देखा, उसकी सहानूभूति लालू के साथ होगी । सब जानते हैं कि लालू सिंगापुर के एक अस्पताल से किडनी का ट्रांसप्लांट करवा कर लौटे हैं। उनका इम्युनिटी लेवल कम है। ऐसे मरीज को भीड़भाड़ में जाने से इन्फेक्शन का खतरा रहता है । इसलिए अगर लालू को अदालत में नहीं बुलाया गया होता तो बेहतर होता । राजनीति अपनी जगह है लेकिन मेडिकल कंडीशन को देखते हुए लालू को ये रियायत दी जानी चाहिए थी ।
महाराष्ट्र में किसान परेशान
महाराष्ट्र में एक ओर जहां पुरानी पेंशन योजना बहाल करने की मांग को लेकर सरकारी कर्मचारी पिछले तीन दिनों से अनिश्चितकालीन हड़ताल पर हैं, वहीं दूसरी ओर हजारों किसान, आशा कार्यकर्ता और आदिवासी करीब 200 किमी लंबे मार्च पर हैं । यह मार्च डिंडोरी से शुरू हुआ और नासिक होते हुए मुंबई पहुंचेगा । ये लोग प्याज उगानेवाले किसानों के लिए प्रति क्विंटल 600 रुपये सब्सिडी, 12 घंटे लगातार बिजली आपूर्ति और कृषि लोन माफ करने की मांग कर रहे हैं । ये बात सही है कि महाराष्ट्र में किसानों को उनकी फसल की सही कीमत नहीं मिल रही है। कुछ दिन पहले मैंने आपको ‘आज की बात’ शो में दिखाया था कि लासलगांव में एक किसान को 512 किलो प्याज के बदले सिर्फ 2 रुपए 49 पैसे का चेक मिला जबकि मार्केट में प्याज 25 रुपए किलो बिक रहा है । ये स्थिति ठीक नहीं है । हालांकि महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने प्याज पर प्रति क्विटंल 300 रुपए की सब्सिडी दी है लेकिन ये नाकाफी है । क्योंकि किसानों का कहना है कि एक क्विटंल प्याज उगाने पर करीब 12 सौ रुपए का खर्चा आता है । इसी तरह आलू, टमाटर और लहसुन उगाने वाले किसान भी परेशान हैं । इसलिए सरकार को इस तरफ ध्यान देना चाहिए । पिछले एक महीने से ज्यादा वक्त से किसान विभिन्न मंचों से अपनी बात उठा रहे थे। अगर एकनाथ शिन्दे की सरकार पहले ही किसानों से बात करती और कोई रास्ता निकालती तो किसानों को सड़क पर आने की जरूरत ही नहीं पड़ती । लेकिन लगता है कि एकनाथ शिंदे का ज्यादा ध्यान अभी भी उद्धव ठाकरे की सेना को तोड़ने में लगा है । वे रोज किसी ना किसी लीडर को अपनी पार्टी में शामिल कराते हैं और इस उपलब्धि पर खुश होते रहते हैं । लेकिन इस चक्कर में नुकसान जनता का हो रहा है ।
PARLIAMENT STALLED
Work in both Houses of Parliament has been stalled for the last four days due to sloganeering from both sides. While BJP is demanding Rahul Gandhi’s apology for insulting India by making ‘democracy under attack’ remarks, the opposition is demanding a joint parliamentary committee probe into Adani controversy.. Rahul Gandhi came to Parliament for the first time on Thursday and said he would like to speak if allowed to do so inside the House. The moot point is, by making ‘democracy under threat’ remarks in Britain, Rahul Gandhi has given BJP a big issue. Several opposition leaders feel that Rahul’s remarks have taken the wind out of their sail, because they had been raising the Adani group issue for more than a month. The situation now is that both the sides are now using Parliament and media for their one-upmanship. Both sides want to project themselves as ‘clean’ before the people. As a result, work in Parliament has come to a standstill, and public money is being squandered.
LALU IN A WHEELCHAIR IN COURT
On Wednesday, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, sitting in a wheelchair, along with wife Rabri Devi and daughter Misa Bharati appeared in a Delhi court in the ‘land-for-jobs’ scam. The court granted bail to all 15 accused including the above three. The next hearing will be on March 29. There was celebration in the RJD camp in Patna as if Lalu Prasad has won the case. Since CBI did not arrest Lalu or any other accused in this case, and since chargesheet has been filed, the court granted bail. Earlier, Supreme Court had given verdicts clearly saying that if an accused is not arrested during investigation, and if chargesheet has already been filed, then the accused can be granted bail in all cases except a few. Whatever be the merits of this case, Lalu Prasad is bound to gain sympathy as he was shown wearing a mask and sitting in a wheelchair. Lalu has undergone kidney transplant in a Singapore hospital, his immunity level is low. There is risk of infection spreading if he moves in a crowd. It would have been better if he had not been summoned to appear in court. Politics apart, Lalu Prasad should have been granted exemption from appearance, given his medical condition.
MAHARASHTRA
On one hand, government employees in Maharashtra have gone on indefinite strike since the last three days demanding restoration of Old Pension Scheme, while on the other hand, thousands of farmers, ASHA workers and tribals are on a 200-km-long march from Dindori, Nashik, to Mumbai. They are demanding Rs 600 per quintal for onion growers, 12 hour continuous power supply and waiver of farm loans. Farmers in Maharashtra are not getting remunerative prices for their crops. In my ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ show, I had shown how a farmer got a cheque of only Rs 2.49 paise after selling 512 kg onion in Lasalgaon market. On the other hand, onion is being sold at Rs 25 a kg to consumers. The Rs 300 per quintal subsidy proposed by the state government to onion growers is inadequate. Farmers say, it costs nearly Rs 1,200 to grow and transport one quintal of onion. Similarly, potato, tomato and garlic growers are also facing problems. Government must pay attention to their grievances. The farmers had been raising their problems for more than a month. Had the Shinde government spoken to them, they would not have marched to Mumbai. It appears, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is busy breaking away leaders from Uddhav Thackeray camp. In the process, the common people are facing problems.
