केजरीवाल, बीजेपी और कांग्रेस के लिए सबक हैं दिल्ली नगर निगम के नतीजे
आम आदमी पार्टी ने बुधवार को दिल्ली नगर निगम में बीजेपी के 15 साल के शासन का अंत करते हुए एक बड़ी जीत दर्ज की। मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल की पार्टी ने 250 सदस्यों वाले नगर निगम में, जो कि मुंबई के बाद भारत में दूसरे सबसे बजट वाला नगर निगम है, 134 सीटें जीतीं। बीजेपी ने 104 सीटों पर जीत दर्ज की, जो कि 2017 के 181 सीटों के आंकड़ों से काफी कम है।
MCD चुनावों में कांग्रेस का लगभग सफाया हो गया। पार्टी को 5 साल पहले हुए चुनावों में 31 सीटें मिली थीं, जबकि इस बार उससे दहाई का आंकड़ा भी दूर रहा और वह सिर्फ 9 सीटें ही जीत पाई। इस तरह पिछले चुनावों के मुकाबले कांग्रेस की सीटें एक तिहाई ही रह गईं। वहीं, बीजेपी यह कहकर अपने दिल को बहला रही है कि भले ही उसकी सीटें कम हो गईं, लेकिन उसका वोट शेयर पिछले चुनावों के 36.1 फीसदी के मुकाबले बढ़कर 39.1 फीसदी हो गया। वहीं, AAP का वोट शेयर 26.2 फीसदी से बढ़कर 42.1 फीसदी पर पहुंच गया है।
एक वाक्य में कहा जाय तो केजरीवाल की पार्टी की जीत हुई है, और BJP ने MCD में अपनी सत्ता गंवा दी है। लेकिन ध्यान देने वाली बात यह है कि केजरीवाल सरकार के कई बड़े मंत्रियों के इलाकों में AAP को हार का सामना करना पड़ा है।
शराब और स्कूल घोटालों में भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों का सामना कर रहे उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया की पटपड़गंज विधानसभा सीट के 3 वॉर्ड पर बीजेपी की जीत हुई , जबकि एक वॉर्ड पर AAP का उम्मीदवार जीता । बुधवार को सिसोदिया ने इसका जिक्र नहीं किया, लेकिन ये ज़रूर कहा कि ‘कट्टर बेईमान’ नेता हार गए हैं और दिल्ली के लोगों ने ‘कट्टर ईमानदार’ नेताओं को जिताया है।
केजरीवल सरकार के एक और विवादास्पद मंत्री सत्येंद्र जैन मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग के केस में फिलहाल तिहाड़ जेल में बंद हैं। सत्येंद्र जैन के इलाके शकूर बस्ती में आम आदमी पार्टी बुरी तरह हारी है। शकूरबस्ती विधानसभा सीट में MCD के तीन वॉर्ड हैं, और तीनों में आम आदमी पार्टी की हार और बीजेपी की जीत हुई। शराब घोटाले और बस खरीद घोटाले के आरोपों की चपेट में आए एक और मंत्री कैलाश गहलोत की नजफगढ़ विधानसभा सीट के 4 में से 3 वॉर्ड बीजेपी ने जीत लिए, जबकि एक वॉर्ड पर निर्दलीय की जीत हुई।
इसी तरह वक्फ घोटाले में आरोपी AAP विधायक अमानतुल्लाह खान की ओखला विधानसभा सीट के 5 में से 4 वॉर्ड में पार्टी की हार हुई । ओखला सीट के 5 में से 2 वॉर्ड पर बीजेपी, 2 वॉर्ड पर कांग्रेस और एक वॉर्ड पर AAP का उम्मीदवार जीता । जाहिर है, भ्रष्टाचार को बड़ा मुद्दा बनाकर सत्ता में आई AAP पर जब खुद भ्रष्टाचार के आरोप लगे तो जनता ने उसे गंभीरता से लिया। बीजेपी नेता कपिल मिश्रा ने कहा कि MCD के नतीजों का संदेश साफ है, दिल्ली से केजरीवाल की विदाई की शुरुआत हो गई है।
जीत के बाद अपने भाषण में केजरावील जरा संभलकर बोलते नजर आए। उन्होंने कहा, ‘हमें भ्रष्टाचार खत्म करना है। यह एक बहुत बड़ी ज़िम्मेदारी है। दिल्ली की जनता ने हमें बड़ा मैसेज दिया है। हम शरीफों की पार्टी हैं, हम अच्छे लोगों की पार्टी हैं। हमें नेगेटिव राजनीति नहीं करनी है। आज दिल्ली ने सारे देश को संदेश दिया है कि स्कूल और अस्पताल से भी वोट मिल सकते हैं।’
नतीजों से एक और नोट करने वाली बात सामने आई। वो ये कि बीजेपी ने MCD चुनाव के दौरान जो भी मुद्दे उठाए, जैसे कि तिहाड़ जेल के अंदर से सत्येंद्र जैन के वीडियो और शराब घोटाले को लेकर मनीष सिसोदिया पर गड़बड़ी के इल्जाम, इनका पार्टी को इन नेताओं के इलाकों में तो फायदा हुआ, लेकिन पूरी दिल्ली में कोई खास असर नहीं हुआ। हालांकि इसका मतलब यह कतई नहीं है कि सत्येंद्र जैन को जनता ने क्लीन चिट दे दी, या शराब घोटाले के आरोपों में दम नहीं है। इन मामलों का फैसला अदालत में होगा। ये ऐसे मसले हैं जिन पर केजरीवाल को देर-सवेर ध्यान देना ही होगा।
MCD चुनाव के नतीजे आने के बाद अपने भाषण में केजरीवाल ने इशारों में बताया कि अब उनकी पार्टी पूरे देश में एक नए राजनीतिक विकल्प के तौर पर उभर रही है। उन्होंने कहा, ‘आजादी के 75 साल बाद भी देश का ठीक से विकास नहीं हुआ है, और अब जनता भी इंतजार करने को तैयार नहीं है। हमारी पार्टी सकारात्मक राजनीति को तरजीह देगी और बेहतर स्कूल, अस्पताल और अन्य सुविधाएं मुहैया कराएगी।’
बीजेपी के नेता हार के बाद तमाम तरह के तर्क दे रहे हैं जैसे कि केजरीवाल को उतनी सीटें नहीं मिलीं जितनी उन्होंने दावा किया था, या कि दोनों पार्टियों के बीच सिर्फ 30 सीटों का अंतर है इसलिए ये बीजेपी की हार नहीं है। मैं उनके अधिकांश तर्कों से सहमत नहीं हूं। BJP और AAP के बीच भले ही 30 सीटों का अंतर है लेकीन चुनाव में जीत, जीत होती है। MCD में केजरीवाल की पार्टी को स्पष्ट बहुमत मिला है।
इस तर्क में भी दम नहीं हैं कि 15 साल से बीजेपी MCD में थी, इसलिए सत्ता विरोधी लहर का फर्क पड़ा। गुजरात में तो बीजेपी 27 साल से सत्ता में हैं, और गुरुवार को आए विधानसभा चुनावों के नतीजों में पार्टी ने ऐतिहासिक जीत दर्ज की है। गुजरात में कोई एंटी इन्कम्बेंसी की बात कोई क्यों नहीं करता।
बीजेपी को दिल्ली के बारे में नए सिरे से सोचना पड़ेगा। यहां पार्टी के पास केजरीवाल का मुकाबले का कोई प्रभावी चेहरा नहीं है। बीजेपी के पास केजरीवाल के फ्री बिजली, फ्री पानी जैसे ऑफर्स का कोई जबाव नहीं है। दिल्ली में पार्टी का संगठन बिखरा हुआ है। यहां एक तो नई पीढी के नेता नहीं हैं, दूसरे पुराने नेता भी सिस्टम से बाहर हो चुके हैं। इसके बावजूद बीजेपी का कोर वोट बैंक सही सलामत है, पार्टी का मतदाता उसके साथ है, और यह वोट प्रतिशत से साफ जाहिर होता है।
यह भी नहीं भूलना चाहिए कि लोकसभा के पिछले दोनों चुनावों में केजरीवाल को दिल्ली में एक भी सीट नहीं मिली थी। उन चुनावों में लोगों ने मोदी के नाम पर, मोदी के काम पर वोट दिया था। उसी वोटर ने MCD चुनावों में और उससे पहले दिल्ली के विधानसभा चुनावों में केजरीवाल को चुना।
अगर दिल्ली में किसी एक पार्टी की लगातार हार हुई है, अगर किसी ने दिल्ली में अपना जनाधार खोया है तो वह कांग्रेस है। आम आदमी पार्टी को कांग्रेस की कमजोरी का फायदा पिछले 10 सालों में हर चुनाव में मिलता रहा है।
बीजेपी के लिए सबसे परेशान करने वाली बात दिल्ली की उन सातों लोकसभा सीटों पर पार्टी का प्रदर्शन है जो उसने 2014 और 2019 के चुनावों में जीती थीं। गौतम गंभीर के लोकसभा क्षेत्र में बीजेपी ने अच्छा प्रदर्शन किया है, मनोज तिवारी और डॉक्टर हर्षवर्धन के लोकसभा क्षेत्र में भी पार्टी का प्रदर्शन संतोषजनक है, लेकिन बाकी 4 सासंदों के इलाकों में आम आदमी पार्टी ने उसे बुरी तरह हराया।
गौतम गंभीर के पूर्वी दिल्ली लोकसभा क्षेत्र में कुल 33 वॉर्ड हैं, जिनमें से 21 पर बीजेपी ने जीत हासिल की है, जबकि AAP को 9 सीटों पर जीत मिली है। मनोज तिवारी के उत्तरी पूर्वी दिल्ली लोकसभा क्षेत्र में बीजेपी ने 41 में से 21 वॉर्ड जीते हैं, जबकि AAP के कब्जे में 17 वॉर्ड आए हैं। इसी तरह, हर्षवर्धन की चांदनी चौक सीट के अंतर्गत आने वाले 30 में से 16 वॉर्ड में बीजेपी की जीत हुई है। बीजेपी का सबसे ज्यादा खराब हाल केंद्रीय मंत्री मीनाक्षी लेखी की संसदीय सीट पर हुआ है, जहां के 25 में से 20 वॉर्ड पर AAP जीती है जबकि बीजेपी के खाते में सिर्फ 5 वॉर्ड आए हैं।
प्रवेश वर्मा की दक्षिणी पश्चिमी दिल्ली सीट के अंतर्गत आने वाले 38 में से 24 वॉर्डों पर AAP और 13 वॉर्डों पर बीजेपी की जीत हुई है। रमेश बिधूड़ी की दक्षिणी दिल्ली लोकसभा सीट के अंतर्गत 40 वॉर्ड आते हैं जिनमें से 25 पर AAP और 14 पर बीजेपी ने जीत दर्ज की है। हंसराज हंस की उत्तरी पश्चिमी दिल्ली लोकसभा सीट के 43 में से 27 वॉर्ड AAP के खाते में गए जबकि बीजेपी सिर्फ 14 वॉर्ड पर ही जीत दर्ज कर पाई।
बीजेपी नेता मनजिंदर सिंह सिरसा का कहना है कि पार्टी की नीतियों और नेतृत्व में कोई कमी नहीं थी, कुछ पार्षद अपने इलाकों में काम नहीं कर पाए थे इसलिए उन वॉर्डों में पार्टी का प्रदर्शन अच्छा नहीं रहा।
कांग्रेस इस बात से संतुष्ट हो सकती है कि उसका वोट शेयर बढ़ा है, और इसमें कोई गलत बात भी नहीं है। कांग्रेस को विधानसभा चुनावों में सिर्फ 4 फीसदी वोट मिले थे, लेकिन इस बार MCD इलेक्शन में कांग्रेस को 11.7 प्रतिशत वोट मिले हैं। नतीजों का विश्लेषण करने पर साफ समझ में आता है कि दिल्ली के उन इलाकों में कांग्रेस को व्यापक समर्थन मिला है, जहां मुस्लिम मतदाताओं की संख्या ज्यादा है। यानी दिल्ली में जो मुस्लिम पहले केजरीवाल का समर्थन कर रहे थे, वे अब कांग्रेस की तरफ शिफ्ट हुए हैं।
असल में केजरीवाल ने गुजरात चुनावों को ध्यान में रखते हुए जिस तरह करंसी नोट पर गणेश लक्ष्मी की फोटो छापने का सुझाव दिया था। साथ ही उन्होंने बिलकिस बानो केस में गैंगरेप और मर्डर के दोषियों की रिहाई के मुद्दे पर चुप्पी साध ली थी, और दिल्ली दंगों पर खामोश रहे थे। इसे देखते हुए मुस्लिम मतदाताओं ने उनसे किनारा कर लिया और इसका फायदा कांग्रेस को मिला।
चुनाव नतीजों का लुब्बोलुआब ये है कि केजरीवाल को भले ही बहुमत मिल गया, लेकिन उनका वोट शेयर पिछले चुनावों की तुलना में 11 फीसदी गिर गया। MCD से बीजेपी की सत्ता चली गई, सीटें कम हो गईं, लेकिन उसका वोट शेयर 1 प्रतिशत बढ़ा है। इसका मतलब यह है कि बीजेपी का कोर वोट बैंक अभी भी उसके साथ है, और उसमें बढ़ोत्तरी हो रही है। कांग्रेस का वोट शेयर भले ही बढ़ गया हो, लेकिन उसके लिए भी संदेश साफ है कि अभी दिल्ली में उसके लिए कोई चांस नहीं हैं। MCD चुनाव में इस बार कांग्रेस के 188 उम्मीदवारों की जमानत जब्त हो गई है। दिल्ली में कांग्रेस के पतन का सिलसिला जारी है। 2017 के MCD चुनावों में कांग्रेस का वोट शेयर 21.1 प्रतिशत था, जो अब करीब 10 फीसदी गिरकर 11.7 प्रतिशत पर आ गया है।
Delhi MCD results: Lessons for Kejriwal, BJP and Congress
Aam Aadmi Party captured the Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Wednesday, ending BJP’s 15-year rule. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s party won 134 seats in the 250-member municipal corporation, which commands the second’s largest civic body budget in India after Mumbai. BJP managed to bag 104 seats, much less than its 2017 score of 181 seats.
The Congress was virtually decimated. It managed to get only a single digit score of nine seats, compared to the 31 seats it had won five years ago. Congress’ seat share was reduced to nearly one-third. BJP consoled itself by saying that though its seat share was reduced, its vote share jumped from 36.1 pc to 39.1 per cent this time. AAP’s vote share rose from 26.2 pc to 42.1 per cent.
The bottomline is clear: Kejriwal won and the BJP lost the MCD polls. But the significant point to note is that Kejriwal’s top ministers lost most of the wards in their respective constituencies.
Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, facing charges of corruption in liquor and school scams, lost three wards in his Patparganj constituency to BJP. On Wednesday, Sisodia avoided mentioning this, but said, that “kattar beimaan” (extremely corrupt) leaders lost and the people of Delhi voted for ‘kattar imaandar’ (extremely honest) leaders.
Another controversial minister in Kejriwal cabinet, Sayendar Jain, presently cooling his heels inside Tihar jail on money laundering charges, faced defeats in all the three wards of his Shakur Basti constituency to BJP. A third minister Kailash Gehlot, named in liquor and bus purchase scams, lost all four wards in his Najafgarh constituency to BJP and independent candidates.
AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan, named in Delhi Waqf scam, lost 4 out of 5 wards in his Okhla constituency, two to BJP and remaining two to Congress. The moot point is: voters of Delhi took the charges of corruption against AAP leaders seriously. BJP leader Kapil Mishra said, the MCD poll results clearly indicate the “beginning of the end” of the road for Arvind Kejriwal.
In his acceptance speech, Kejriwal took a careful stance. He said, “we will have to end corruption. It is a big responsibility. The people of Delhi have given us a message. We are a party of good and civilized people. We do not indulge in negative politics. We have shown that we can get votes if we provide good schools and hospitals.”
The results indicate that though the BJP circulated videos of Satyendar Jain inside Tihar jail and highlighted corruption charges against Sisodia, these had effective impact only in the constituencies of these leaders, but not in other constituencies. This does not mean that by winning the MCD elections, AAP leaders facing charges, have got a clean chit from the people. It is for the courts to decide on matters relating to money laundering and corruption. These are issues on which Kejriwal will also have to take a call, sooner or later.
In his acceptance speech, Kejriwal also indirectly indicated that his party AAP is emerging as a new political alternative in India. He said, “even after 75 years of independence, there has not been adequate progress, and the people are unwilling to wait any more. Our party will prefer positive politics, and provide better schools, hospitals and other facilities.”
BJP leaders may cite various reasons for losing the MCD polls, but I do not agree with most of their arguments. Kejriwal did not get as many seats in MCD as he had claimed. BJP may have got 30 seats less than AAP, but a victory is a victory.
There is no force in the argument that anti-incumbency factor worked in Delhi due to BJP’s 15-year rule in MCD. My counter is: In Gujarat, BJP has been ruling consistently for 27 years, and on Thursday, it scored a historic, record-breaking landslide win. The anti-incumbency factor did not work in Gujarat.
BJP will have to think afresh about Delhi. It lacks an impressive personality in Delhi politics who can challenge Kejriwal. It has no counter to challenge Kejriwal’s ‘free electricity, free water’ offer. BJP’s organisational setup in Delhi is not well-coordinated. It lacks new leaders, and most of the older ones are completely out of sync with the new voters. Despite all these, the core BJP voter in Delhi is still with the party, and this is reflected in its rising vote percentage.
One must not forget that Kejriwal’s party failed to win a single Lok Sabha seat from Delhi in the last two general elections. The people of Delhi unreservedly voted for Narendra Modi. The same voters in Delhi supported Kejriwal in the assembly and MCD elections.
If there is one party which lost its core base consistently in Delhi, it is the Congress. It is the Aam Aadmi Party which has gained from Congress’ weaknesses during the last ten years.
BJP should worry about its performance in the seven Lok Sabha constituencies that it had won in Delhi in 2014 and 2019. While MCD results from Gautam Gambhir’s, Manoj Tiwari’s and Dr Harsh Vardhan’s LS constituencies show that BJP’s performance in their wards was satisfactory, the performance in the remaining four LS constituencies was poor, and the AAP defeated BJP in most of the wards.
In Gautam Gambhir’s East Delhi constituency, BJP won 21 out of 33 wards, while AAP won nine. In Manoj Tiwari’s North East Delhi constituency, BJP won 21 out of 41 wards, while AAP won 17. In Harsh Vardhan’s Chandni Chowk constituency, BJP won 16 out of 30 wards. The most pathetic performance of BJP was in Minister Meenakshi Lekhi’s New Delhi constituency, where AAP won 20 out of 25 wards, leaving five for BJP.
In Parvesh Verma’s South West Delhi constituency, AAP won 24 out of 38 wards, leaving 13 for BJP. In Ramesh Bidhuri’s South Delhi constituency, AAP won 25 out of 40 wards, leaving 14 for BJP. In Hansraj Hans’ North West Delhi constituency, AAP won 27 out of 43 wards, leaving 14 for BJP.
BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa claimed that there have been no deficiencies in the party’s policies, strategy and leadership, and the party lost the wards because of poor performance of some of its sitting councillors.
Congress leaders in Delhi claim that their vote share this time has increased from 4 pc in assembly polls to 11.7 pc in MCD poll this time. While analysing data, it was found that the Congress has got support from areas that are Muslim-dominated. In other words, Muslim voters in Delhi have started shifting from Kejriwal to Congress.
Kejriwal had suggested during the Gujarat elections that the images of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi should be printed on currency notes. He maintained a complete silence when the convicts in Bilkis Bano gang rape and murder case were released from Gujarat jails. He also maintained silence on Delhi riots. Muslim voters in Delhi this time have reacted by opting for Congress instead of AAP.
Kejriwal may have won the MCD polls, but his party’s vote share has decreased by 11 pc compared to assembly election vote share. BJP lost control over MCD, its number of seats was reduced, but its vote share increased by one per cent. It means, the core vote bank of BJP in Delhi has remained intact.
Congress vote share may have increased, but the message is clear: there is no chance for the 137-year-old party in the near future. 188 Congress candidates lost their deposits in the MCD polls this time. The decline of Congress in Delhi continues. Compared with 2017 MCD poll percentage, Congress’ share has decreased from 21.1 to 11.7 per cent, a roughly 10 per cent decline.
लालू यादव की बेटी रोहिणी ने किडनी डोनेट करके एक बेहतरीन मिसाल कायम की है
राष्ट्रीय जनता दल के सुप्रीमो लालू प्रसाद यादव किडनी ट्रांसप्लांट के बाद सिंगापुर के माउंट एलिजाबेथ अस्पताल में रिकवर कर रहे हैं। लालू को उनकी बेटी रोहिणी आचार्य ने किडनी डोनेट की थी। वह भी तेजी से ठीक हो रही हैं। डॉक्टरों ने कहा कि दोनों के सभी महत्वपूर्ण पैरामीटर अब सामान्य हैं। लालू यादव की पत्नी राबड़ी देवी, उनकी बेटी मीसा भारती भी सिंगापुर में हैं।
अपने 74 साल के पिता को किडनी डोनेट करके उन्हें नया जीवन देने वाली रोहिणी आचार्य की विभिन्न राजनीतिक दलों के नेताओं ने खुलकर सराहना की। सोमवार को लालू के बेटे तेजस्वी यादव ने ऑपरेशन थिएटर से ICU में शिफ्ट किए गए अपने पिता की वीडियो और तस्वीरें पोस्ट की थीं। लालू यादव किडनी की बीमारी से पीड़ित थे और उन्हें किडनी ट्रांसप्लांट की सलाह दी गई थी।
तेजस्वी ने अपनी बहन की तारीफ करते हुए बेहद भावुक ट्वीट किया। उन्होंने लिखा: ऑपरेशन के बाद मेरी प्यारी बहन का आत्मविश्वास अलौकिक,अपूर्व और अद्भुत है। मेरी प्यारी बहन रोहिणी आचार्य ने अटूट प्रेम, असीम त्याग, अदम्य साहस, अद्वितीय समर्पण और रिसते रिश्तों के वर्तमान दौर में अकल्पनीय पारिवारिक मूल्यों की जो अनूठी मिसाल कायम की है वह अवर्णनीय और अविस्मरणीय है।
रोहिणी ने अपनी किडनी दान करके वाकई में एक मिसाल कायम की है। वह लालू की ही नहीं, बल्कि देश की बेटी हैं, हर भारतीय परिवार की लाडली बेटी हैं। सर्जरी के बाद जब लालू यादव को होश आया तो सबसे पहले उन्होंने यही पूछा, ‘रोहिणी कैसी है? ’ जब रोहिणी को होश आया, तो उन्होंने सबसे पहले पूछा: ‘पापा कैसे हैं?’ यह एक पिता और बेटी के बीच की खूबसूरत बॉन्डिंग को दिखाता है।
लालू यादव का 9 बच्चों का एक बड़ा परिवार है और रोहिणी उनकी दूसरी संतान है। 43 साल की रोहिणी आचार्य 3 बच्चों की मां हैं, पेशे से डॉक्टर हैं और सिंगापुर में रहती हैं। जब उन्हें अपने पिता की किडनी की जटिलताओं के बारे में पता चला, तो उन्होंने अपनी किडनी देने फैसला कर लिया। शुरू में लालू यादव किडनी ट्रांसप्लांट के लिए तैयार नहीं थे। उनका कहना था कि उनकी उम्र पहले ही 70 साल की हो गई है, इसलिए वह अपनी बेटी से किडनी नहीं लेंगे क्योंकि उसके सामने तो पूरी जिंदगी पड़ी है। रोहिणी अपनी बात पर अड़ी रहीं, और आखिरकार पिता को बेटी की जिद के सामने झुकना पड़ा।
जिस दिन लालू ट्रांसप्लांट के लिए मान गए, उस दिन रोहिणी ने ट्वीट किया, ‘मेरे माता-पिता मेरे लिए भगवान हैं। मैं उनके लिए कुछ भी कर सकती हूं।’ इसके बाद जब लालू को सिंगापुर ले जाया गया तब भी रोहिणी ने ट्वीट किया, ‘मैंने ईश्वर को तो नहीं देखा है, लेकिन ईश्वर के रूप में अपने पापा को देखा है।’ जिस दिन रोहिणी को किडनी डोनेट करने के लिए ऑपरेशन थियेटर ले जाया गया, उस दिन भी उन्होंने ट्वीट किया, ‘Ready to rock and roll. लालू यादव के कट्टर सियासी विरोधियों में से एक केंद्रीय मंत्री गिरिराज सिंह ने, जो कि खुद इकलौती बेटी के पिता हैं, ने ट्वीट किया, ‘बेटी हो तो रोहणी आचार्य जैसी। गर्व है आप पर। आप उदाहरण होंगी आने वाले पीढ़ियों के लिए।’
मैं गिरिराज सिंह की भावनाओं को समझ सकता हूं क्योंकि वह एक पिता और उसकी बेटी के बीच भावनात्मक जुड़ाव को समझते हैं। रोहिणी का जन्म 1979 में हुआ था और 2002 में एक सॉफ्टवेयर इंजीनियर शमशेर सिंह से उनकी शादी हुई। उनकी 3 संतानों में 2 बेटे और एक बेटी है। मैं ये सब इसलिए बता रहा हूं क्योंकि रोहिणी ने ही अपने पिता को किडनी लेने के लिए मनाने में अहम भूमिका निभाई थी। उसने अपने पिता से कहा था कि तीन बच्चों के साथ ही उनका परिवार अब पूरा हो गया है, और एक डॉक्टर होने के चलते उन्हें पता है कि वह एक किडनी के साथ भी सामान्य जीवन जी सकती है।
बीजेपी के सांसद निशिकांत दुबे ने ट्वीट किया: ‘मुझे भगवान ने बेटी नहीं दी, आज रोहिणी आचार्य को देखकर सचमुच भगवान से लड़ने का दिल कर रहा है। मेरी नानी हमेशा कहती थी, बेटा से बेटी भली जो कुलवंती हो।’ लालू यादव के लंबे समय तक सहयोगी रहे और मौजूदा समय में पाटलिपुत्र से बीजेपी के सांसद रामकृपाल यादव ने रोहिणी को आशीर्वाद देते हुए कहा, ‘रोहिणी जैसी बेटियों के कारण ही कुल का नाम रोशन होता है। भगवान ऐसी बेटियां सबको दें।’ उत्तर प्रदेश के डिप्टी सीएम केशव प्रसाद मौर्य ने कहा, ‘माता-पिता के लिए बेटी हमेशा बेटी ही रहती है, भले ही वह कितनी भी बड़ी क्यों न हो जाए। रोहिणी ने जो किया उसे देखकर हर किसी को बेटियों पर गर्व होना चाहिए।’
शिवसेना की सांसद प्रियंका चतुर्वेदी ने कहा कि रोहिणी ने एक ऐसी मिसाल कायम की है, जिसकी बराबरी करना दूसरों के लिए बहुत मुश्किल होगा। उन्होंने कहा, ‘ऐसे समय में जब ज्यादातर युवा अपने माता-पिता से दूर रहना पसंद करते हैं, रोहिणी ने अपने पिता को किडनी देकर युवा पीढ़ी को एक संदेश दिया है: अपने माता-पिता के प्रति अपनी जिम्मेदारियों को समझें।’ मंगलवार को बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार ने तेजस्वी यादव से बात की। उन्होंने बाद में संवाददाताओं से कहा, ‘यह खुशी की बात है कि सब कुछ ठीक रहा। लालू जी ठीक हैं। डॉक्टरों ने भी कहा है कि वह ठीक हैं।’
रोहिणी के साहस और समर्पण की लालू यादव के सियासी विरोधी भी सराहना कर रहे हैं। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने मंगलवार को तेजस्वी यादव को फोन कर उनके पिता और बहन का हालचाल लिया। मोदी ने उनसे कहा कि वह दोनों के शीघ्र स्वस्थ होने की कामना करते हैं। तेजस्वी यादव ने लालू का 14 सेकंड का एक वीडियो पोस्ट किया जिसमें उन्होंने अपने सभी समर्थकों को अपने पिता के ठीक होने की प्रार्थना करने के लिए धन्यवाद दिया।
किडनी ट्रांसप्लांट ऊपर से जितना आसान दिखाई देता है, उससे कहीं ज्यादा जटिल और रिस्की होता है। किडनी लेने वाले और किडनी देने वाले, दोनों के लिए खतरा होता है। यही वजह है कि दोनों को कई तरह के टेस्ट से गुजरना पड़ता है। हर किसी की किडनी हर किसी को ट्रांसप्लांट नहीं की जा सकती। सिंगापुर के जिस माउंट एलिजाबेथ हॉस्पिटल में लालू का किडनी ट्रांसप्लांट हुआ, वह इस तरह के ऑपरेशन के लिए दुनिया के सबसे बेहतरीन अस्पतालों में से एक है।
मुझे याद है कि अमर सिंह का किडनी ट्रांसप्लांट यहीं हुआ था। इसकी प्रक्रिया काफी जटिल है। किडनी ट्रांसप्लांट से पहले मरीज की इम्युनिटी डाउन की जाती है ताकि शरीर फॉरेन एलिमेंट को स्वीकार कर सके। जब इम्युनिटी डाउन होती है तो इंफेक्शन से बचाने के लिए पेशेंट को कई हफ्तों तक पूरी तरह से आइसोलेशन में रखा जाता है। ट्रांसप्लांट के बाद भी लंबे अर्से तक इसी तरह आइसोलेशन में रखकर धीरे-धीरे इम्युनिटी बढ़ाई जाती है। किडनी डोनेट करने वाले को भी रिस्क और रिकवरी के फेज से गुजरना पड़ता है। इसीलिए रोहिणी की हिम्मत काबिल-ए-तारीफ है।
ईश्वर से प्रार्थना है कि लालू जी जल्दी से स्वस्थ होकर घर लौटें और रोहिणी भी जल्दी ठीक होकर अपने परिवार के साथ रहे। वे दोनों दीर्घायु हों, स्वस्थ रहें। लालू जी एक पब्लिक फिगर हैं। उनकी किडनी ट्रांसप्लांट की चर्चा हर जगह हो रही है। रोहिणी ने जो मिसाल कायम की है उससे देश की उन सब बेटियों को प्रेरणा मिलेगी जो अपने माता-पिता की सेवा करती हैं, बीमारी में उनकी देखभाल करती है। इससे उन लोगों को भी जवाब मिलेगा जो कहते हैं कि बच्चे मां-बाप की परवाह नहीं करते।
Lalu Yadav’s daughter Rohini has set a sterling example by donating her kidney
Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad Yadav is recovering in Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore, after he underwent a kidney transplant. The kidney was donated by his daughter Rohini Acharya, who is also recovering fast. Doctors said, all the vital parameters of both the donor and patient are now normal. Lalu Yadav’s wife Rabri Devi, his daughter Misa Bharati are presently in Singapore.
Politicians across the spectrum have lauded Rohini Acharya for doing a great service by donating her kidney and giving a new lease of life to her 74-year-old father. On Monday, Lalu’s son Tejashwi Yadav posted pictures and video of his father who has been shifted from operation theatre to ICU. Lalu Yadav had been suffering from acute kidney complications and was advised a kidney transplant.
Tejashwi’s post on Twitter, while applauding her sister, was quite emotional. He wrote: “My dear sister’s self-confidence after the surgery is divine, unprecedented and wonderful. My dear sister Rohini Acharya has set a unique example of unimaginable family values with her unbreakable love, infinite sacrifice and unique dedication.”
Rohini has, indeed, set a sterling example by donating her kidney. She is not only Lalu’s daughter, but has now become the darling daughter of every Indian family. When Lalu Yadav regained consciousness after surgery, the first thing he asked was, “How is Rohini?” When Rohini regained consciousness, the first thing she asked was: “How’s Papa?” – an unmistakable sign of bonding between a doting father and his daughter.
Lalu Yadav has a large family of nine children and Rohini is his second offspring. A mother of three, 43-year-old Rohini Acharya is a doctor by profession and she lives in Singapore. When she learnt about her father’s kidney complications, she did not think twice before offering her kidney.
Initially, Lalu Yadav was unwilling for a kidney transplant. His view wat that he was already a septuagenarian, and he would not like his daughter to donate her organ, as she had a long life ahead of her. Rohini insisted, and ultimately her father agreed.
The day Lalu agreed for transplant, Rohini tweeted: “For me, my parents are like God. I can do anything for them.” When Lalu arrived in Singapore, Rohini tweeted: “I haven’t seen God, but I have seen God in the form of my papa.” On the day, when she was wheeled into the operation theatre, Rohini tweeted: “Ready to rock and roll…Wish me a good luck”. And God listened to her prayers.
One of Lalu Yadav’s arch political rivals in Bihar, Union Minister Giriraj Singh, father of a solitary daughter, tweeted: “Beti Ho Toh Rohini Acharya Jaisi. We are proud of you. You will be an example for coming generations.”
I can understand Giriraj Singh’s emotions because he understands the emotional connect between a father and his daughter.
Rohini was born in 1979, and in 2002, she married a software engineer Shamsher Singh. Among her three children are two sons and a daughter. I am giving these details because, it was Rohini who played the key role in persuading her father to accept her kidney. She told her father that her family with three offsprings is now complete, and as a doctor, she knew that she can continue to lead a normal life with a single kidney.
Another political rival, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey tweeted: “God did not give me a daughter. After watching Rohini Acharya today, I feel like quarrelling with God. My naani (grandmom) used to say, noble daughters are better than sons”.
A long-time associate of Lalu Yadav and presently BJP MP from Pataliputra, Ramkripal Yadav blessed Rohini saying, “It is because of daughters like Rohini that the family gains respect. God should give such daughters to everybody”.
Uttar Pradesh deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya said, “for parents, a daughter always remains a daughter, even if she becomes old. Everybody should feel pride for daughters after watching what Rohini did.”
Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said, Rohini has set an example, which could be difficult for others to equal. “At a time when most of our younger ones prefer to stay away from their parents, Rohini has conveyed to the younger generation a message: Try to understand your responsibilities towards your parents”, she said.
On Tuesday, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar spoke to Tejashwi Yadav and later told reporters, “it is a matter of happiness that everything went well. Lalu ji is fine. Doctors have also said that he is fine.”
It was Rohini’s courage and devotion that won accolades from Lalu Yadav’s political rivals. Prime Minister Narendra Modi rang up Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday to find out about his father’s and his sister’s health. Modi wished an early recovery for both of them. Tejashwi Yadav posted a 14-second video of his father in which he thanked all his supporters for praying for his father’s recovery.
Kidney transplant is not as easy as it seems. In some case it becomes risky and complicated, both for the donor and the receiver. Both have to undergo several critical tests. Kidneys cannot be transplanted indiscriminately. Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore is considered as one of the best hospitals in the world where kidney transplants are done.
I remember, Late Amar Singh was brought to this hospital for kidney transplant. The process is very complicated. Before a transplant is done, the patient’s immunity is brought down so that the body can accept foreign elements. When the immunity is lowered, the patient is kept in complete isolation for weeks to prevent infections. After a kidney is transplanted, the patient is again kept in isolation for a long period to ensure that the immunity level rises slowly. The kidney donor has also to go through several risks during recovery phase. That is why, I have nothing but words of praise for Rohini’s courage.
I pray to God that Lalu Yadav recovers quickly and returns home and Rohini, too, recovers soon and rejoins her family. Let both of them live a long and healthy life. Lalu Yadav is a well-known pesonality and naturally, his kidney transplant has became the talk of the town. Rohini has set a nice example and this will encourage all those daughters who are willing to help their ailing parents. This will also make people stop complaining that children do not care for their elder ones.
मैनपुरी और रामपुर में अखिलेश को हरा पाएंगे योगी ?
उत्तर प्रदेश में मैनपुरी लोकसभा उपचुनाव और रामपुर विधानसभा उपचुनाव का प्रचार काफी दिलचस्प हो गया है। इस चुनाव अभियान में जहां मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ बीजेपी की अगुवाई कर रहे हैं वहीं समाजवादी पार्टी की ओर से नेतृत्व का जिम्मा अखिलेश यादव ने संभाल रखा है। मैनपुरी, रामपुर और खतौली में सोमवार को वोटिंग होगी।
शुक्रवार को योगी आदित्यनाथ ने रामपुर और मैनपुरी में चुनाव प्रचार किया और यादव परिवार पर जमकर निशाना साधा। उन्होंने कहा मुलायम सिंह खानदान में तीन तरह के समाजवाद हैं। योगी ने कहा-चाचा शिवपाल सिंह यादव ‘लठैत समाजवाद’ में यकीन रखते हैं, दूसरे चाचा रामगोपाल यादव ‘पूंजीवादी समाजवाद’ में यकीन करते हैं और अखिलेश यादव ‘अवसरवादी समाजवाद’ में विश्वास रखते हैं।’
योगी एक हफ्ते में दूसरी बार मैनपुरी आए जिसे मुलायाम सिंह यादव का खानदानी गढ़ माना जाता है। मुलायम सिंह यादव के निधन के कारण खाली हुई सीट पर लोकसभा का उपचुनाव हो रहा है। इस उपचुनाव में अखिलेश यादव ने अपनी पत्नी डिंपल को उतारा है।
एक रैली को संबोधित करते हुए योगी आदित्यनाथ ने कहा कि मैनपुरी ऋषियों की भूमि है। यहां समाजवादी परिवार का राज नहीं बल्कि रामराज होना चाहिए। योगी ने कहा कि मैनपुरी में विकास सिर्फ सैफई और यादव परिवार तक सीमित है। योगी ने शिवपाल यादव के जिस ‘लठैत समाजवाद’ की बात की इसका एक उदाहरण भी गुरुवार को देखने को मिला।
मैनपुरी में डिंपल यादव के लिए प्रचार कर रहे अखिलेश यादव के चचेरे भाई और पूर्व सांसद धर्मेंद्र यादव की पुलिस से नोंकझोंक हो गई।यह मामला मैनपुरी के कुरावली विधानसभा इलाके का है। चुनाव आचार संहिता के चलते पुलिस ने चेकिंग के लिए धर्मेंद्र यादव की गाड़ी को रोक दिया। इससे वे नाराज हो गए। पुलिसवालों से उनकी जबरदस्त बहस हो गई। धर्मेंद्र यादव कहने लगे कि पुलिसवाले सिर्फ समाजवादी पार्टी के नेताओं की गाड़ियां चेक कर रहे हैं, बीजेपी नेताओं की नहीं। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि पुलिस अत्याचार कर रही है, कार्यकर्ताओं को डरा रही है। उन्होंने पुलिस इंस्पेक्टर को चुनौती दी कि उन्हें गिरफ्तार करके दिखाएं।
धर्मेंद्र यादव ने कहा-‘आप पूरे जिले में आतंक फैला रहे हैं। आप लोग जो ये अत्याचार कर रहें हैं न उसे डेमोक्रेसी कभी माफ नहीं करेगी। लोकतंत्र को कुचलने की कोशिश की जा रही है और संविधान का मजाक बनाया जा रहा है। जनता इन पुलिसकर्मियों को कभी माफ नहीं करेगी। जिले का हर बड़ा अफसर लोगों को डरा रहा है..धमका रहा है। लोकतंत्र की हत्या की जा रही है। लेकिन मैनपुरी के लोग इसे बर्दाश्त नहीं करेंगे। जनता चुनाव में जवाब देगी।’
अखिलेश के चाचा शिवपाल सिंह यादव ने आरोप लगाया कि मैनपुरी में जिला प्रशासन ‘मुख्यमंत्री योगी के इशारे पर विपक्षी कार्यकर्ताओं को डरा रहा है। अब वोटिंग तक ऐसा ही होता रहेगा। इसलिए समाजवादी पार्टी के लोगों को डरना नहीं है, हर बूथ पर और हर इलाके में बैकअप प्लान बनाना है जिससे योगी सरकार के मंसूबों को नाकाम किया जा सके।’
योगी ने अपनी रैली में इन आरोपों को जवाब दिया। उन्होंने कहा-‘यह समाजवादी पार्टी का पुराना स्टाइल है। जब भी उन्हें लगता है कि चुनाव हारने वाले हैं तो कभी ईवीएम पर आरोप लगाते हैं और कभी पुलिस को कठघरे में खड़ा करते हैं। जहां कहीं लगता है कि हार जाएंगे तब वे डिंपल यादव को आगे कर देते हैं। इससे पहले डिंपल यादव फिरोज़बाद और कन्नौज में चुनाव हारीं थी और अब मैनपुरी में भी उन्हें हार मिलेगी।’
समाजवादी पार्टी के प्रमुख अखिलेश यादव ने कहा, ‘योगी आदित्यनाथ चाचा शिवपाल को पेंडुलम कह रहे हैं लेकिन उन्होंने (शिवापल यादव) नेताजी (मुलायम सिंह) से राजनीति सीखी है। वो कब, कहां और कैसे चोट करेंगे इसका अंदाज़ा बीजेपी को भी नहीं होगा।’
मैनपुरी जाने से पहले योगी ने एक अन्य अहम सीट रामपुर में प्रचार किया जिसे सपा नेता आजम खान का गढ़ माना जाता है। शुक्रवार को योगी ने आजम खां का नाम नहीं लिया, लेकिन उनका निशाना साफ था।
योगी ने कहा- जो नेता आज अन्याय का रोना रो रहे हैं, वो झूठ बोल रहे हैं। उन्हें समझ लेना चाहिए जिसने जो कर्म किया है उसका फल उसे भुगतना होगा। सारे मामले अदालत में हैं, फैसला वहीं होना है। अगर इन नेताओं ने सत्ता में रहते हुए अपनी जुबान को काबू में रखा होता, जमीन एवं मकानों पर अवैध कब्जा नहीं किया होता, अपने कारनामों के लिए जनता से माफी मांगी होती शायद जनता उन्हें माफ कर देती। लेकिन वह अब भी नहीं सुधरे हैं, हालांकि वक्त सबको सुधार देता है।
योगी आदित्यनाथ की यह बात तो सही है कि आजम खान जब तक सत्ता में रहे, या फिर जब तक रामपुर पर उनका रूआब चला, तब तक उनके तेवर हमेशा तीखे रहते थे। आजम खान तब पुलिस और प्रशासन को कुछ नहीं समझते थे और रामपुर को एक तरह से उन्होंने अपनी रियासत की तरह चलाया। उन्होंने अपनी मोहम्मद अली जौहर यूनिवर्सिटी के लिए कई गरीब मुसलमानों की प्रॉपर्टी पर भी कब्जा किया। इसके लिए आजम खान को काफी समय तक जेल में भी रहना पड़ा लेकिन उनके तेवर अभी भी उतने ढीले नहीं पड़े हैं।
2 दिन पहले एक जनसभा को संबोधित करते हुए आजम खां ने धमकाने वाले अंदाज में कहा था कि वह राज्य की 4 सरकारों में थे और सत्ता में रहते हुए अगर उन्होंने अपना बाहुबल दिखाया होता तो ‘बच्चे पैदा होने से पहले अपनी मां से पूछते कि आजम खान से मंजूरी ले ली है कि नहीं।’ इसके तुरंत बाद, सपा नेता के खिलाफ इस ओछी टिप्पणी के लिए रामपुर में IPC की धारा 394 B, 354 A, 353 A, 505, 504, 509, 125 के तहत मामला दर्ज हो गया। शुक्रवार को आजम खान ने पुलिस की कार्रवाई पर तंज कसते हुए, उसका मजाक उड़ाते हुए अपने समर्थकों से ‘एसपी साहब जिंदाबाद’, ‘सीओ साहब जिंदाबाद’ और ‘पुलिस की लाठी जिंदाबाद’ के नारे लगाने को कहा।
योगी ने शुक्रवार को मतदाताओं को रामपुर की समृद्ध विरासत की याद दिलाई। उन्होंने कहा, ‘एक नेता (आजम खां) और उनके परिवार की वजह से रामपुर विकास की यात्रा में पीछे रह गया। यह परिवार केवल मुसलमानों के साथ राजनीति करता है, लेकिन बीजेपी कभी भी धर्म के नाम पर भेदभाव नहीं करती।’
योगी जिस तरह रामपुर और मैनपुरी में प्रचार कर रहे हैं, उससे एक बात तो साफ है कि इन दोनों सीटों को जीतकर वह अखिलेश यादव और उनकी समाजवादी पार्टी को बड़ा झटका देना चाहते हैं। रामपुर सीट पर आजम खान का दबदबा माना जाता है और मैनपुरी सीट मुलायम सिंह यादव का गढ़ रही है। ये दोनों ही नेता समाजवादी पार्टी के संस्थापक रहे हैं, ऐसे में अगर बीजेपी इन दोनों सीटों को समाजवादी पार्टी से छीनती है तो यह बहुत बड़ी जीत होगी।
यही वजह है कि योगी इन सीटों पर उन नेताओं से भी प्रचार करवा रहे हैं जो कभी आजम और मुलायम के करीबी रहे। शुक्रवार को केंद्रीय मंत्री एस. पी. सिंह बघेल, जो कि लंबे वक्त तक मुलायम सिंह के सुरक्षा अधिकारी रहे थे, ने एक चुनावी रैली को संबोधित करते हुए कहा, ‘मैं कल रात एक सपना देखा था। नेताजी ने मुझसे कहा, आप लोगों को अखिलेश को सबक सिखाना चाहिए क्योंकि मेरे आखिरी दिनों में उन्होंने मेरे साथ बुरा बर्ताव किया था।’
यूपी उपचुनाव में प्रचार का अंदाज, लहजा और तेवर कुछ इस तरह का है। मैनपुरी और रामपुर में बीजेपी और समाजवादी पार्टी की टक्कर कितने कांटे की है, दोनों पार्टियां कितना जोर लगा रही हैं, इसका अंदाजा योगी और अखिलेश का कैम्पेन देखकर लगाया जा सकता है।
अगर आपको दोनों पार्टियों की रणनीति समझनी है तो आपको उनके मंच की तरफ देखना होगा, वहां कौन-कौन बैठा है, इस पर ध्यान देना होगा। अखिलेश यादव के साथ मंच पर शिवपाल और रामगोपाल सहित पूरा यादव परिवार एक साथ दिखाई देता है। वे यह संदेश देना चाहते हैं कि मुलायम सिंह यादव का पूरा परिवार उनकी विरासत को बचाने के लिए साथ खड़ा है।
योगी आदित्यनाथ के मंच पर आपको समाज के हर वर्ग के नेता दिखाई देंगे। शुक्रवार को योगी के मंच पर मैनपुरी के प्रत्याशी रघुराज शाक्य, मौर्य समाज की नेता और यूपी सरकार में मंत्री बेबी रानी मौर्य, केंद्रीय मंत्री बीएल मौर्य, कोरी समाज के नेता और यूपी के मंत्री मन्नू कोरी, योगी कैबिनेट में मंत्री और राजपूत समाज से ताल्लुक रखने वाले दयाशंकर सिंह, कुर्मी नेता और मंत्री राकेश सचान, बघेल समाज के नेता और केंद्रीय मंत्री एसपी सिंह बघेल मौजूद थे। योगी का संदेश साफ है कि समाज के हर वर्ग, हर जाति के लोग उनके साथ हैं और सब मिलकर यादव परिवार को हराएंगे। चुनाव के नतीजे 8 दिसंबर को आएंगे।
Can Yogi defeat Akhilesh in Mainpuri, Rampur?
The campaign for byelections to two key constituencies of UP, Mainpuri (LS) and Rampur (Assembly), has become quite interesting with UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath leading the charge on behalf of BJP, while the Samajwadi Party campaign is led by Akhilesh Yadav. Polling will take place on Monday, in Mainpuri, Rampur and Khatauli.
On Friday, Yogi hit out at the Yadav family and said, there are three types of ‘samajwaad’ (socialism) in the Mulayam Singh clan. Uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav, he said, believes in ‘lathait'(lathi-wielding) socialism, another uncle Ramgopal Yadav believes in ‘capitalist socialism’ and Akhilesh Yadav believes in ‘opportunistic socialism’.
This was Yogi’s second visit in a week to Mainpuri, which is considered the citadel of Mulayam Singh Yadav clan. The byelection to Lok Sabha is taking place after the seat fell vacant due to the passing away of Mulayam Singh Yadav. Akhilesh Yadav has fielded his wife Dimple in the byelection.
Addressing a rally, Yogi said, Mainpuri is the land of saints and it needs a ‘Ram Raj’, not the ‘Raj of a Samajwadi family’. He pointed out that the development of Mainpuri is limited only to Akhilesh Yadav’s own village Saifai. Yogi described Shivpal’s brand of ‘lathi-wielding socialism’ because of an incident that took place on Thursday.
Akhilesh Yadav’s cousin and former MP Dharmendra Yadav was going in a cavalcade to campaign for Dimple Yadav, when his car was stopped by police in Kurawali for the routine check for enforcing Model Code of Conduct. Dharmendra Yadav was involved in a tiff with police officers. He alleged that police was only checking vehicles of Samajwadi Party workers, and was allowing BJP vehicles to go unchecked. He alleged that ‘police was committing atrocities and striking fear in the minds of party workers’. He challenged the police inspector to arrest him.
“You are creating terror in the entire district and trying to crush democracy and Constitution is being made a mockery, and the people will never forgive these policemen. Every top bureaucrat in the district is terrorizing people. Democracy is being murdered and the people of Mainpur will not tolerate this. They will reply through ballot”, Dharmendra Yadav said.
Akhilesh’s uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav alleged that the district administration in Mainpuri “at the behest of chief minister Yogi is terrorizing opposition workers. This will continue till voting. Samajwadi Party workers must not fear, they should make back-up plan for each and every booth to foil the designs of Yogi’s government”.
Yogi referred to this allegation in his rally. He said, “this is Samajwadi Party’s old style. Whenever they face defeat, they either allege tampering of EVMs(electronic voting machies) or blame the police for high-handedness. Wherever they expect defeat, they field Dimple Yadav, as it happened in Firozabad and Kannauj where she lost, and she will lose Mainpuri too.”
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said, “Yogi may describe chacha Shivpal Singh as a ‘pendulum’, but he has learnt politics from Netaji (Mulayam Singh). He knows when and where to strike, and BJP will never figure it out.”
Before visiting Mainpuri, Yogi campaigned in another key seat, Rampur, considered the citadel of SP leader Azam Khan. On Friday, Yogi did not name Azam Khan, but his target was clear.
Yogi said, “those leaders who are crying about injustice and telling lies, must understand that they would have to face the consequences of their action. The courts will decide their fate. Had these leaders controlled their language when they were in power, and refrained from illegally occupying land and buildings, had they sought forgiveness from people, they could have been forgiven. But they have not yet mended their ways. Time will make them mend their ways.”
Yogi is right. When Azam Khan was a powerful minister during SP regime, he was running Rampur as his fiefdom. He grabbed properties of poor Muslims for his Mohammed Ali Jauhar University. Azam Khan had to spend time in jail. Yet he has not mellowed.
Two days ago, while addressing a rally, Azam Khan had, out of bravado, said, he was in 4 state governments, and if he had flexed his muscle when he was in power, ‘ newborn offsprings would have asked their mothers whether they have taken permission from Azam Khan so that we can come out of the womb’.
Soon after, a case under Sections 394B, 354A, 353A, 505, 504, 509, 125 IPC was filed in Rampur against the SP leader for making this crass remark. On Friday, Azam Khan, in a sarcastic move, asked his followers at a rally to chant “SP Sahib Zindabad”, “CO Sahib Zindabad”, “Police ki lathi Zindabad”.
Yogi on Friday reminded voters of the rich legacy of Rampur. He said, “because of one leader (Azam Khan) and his family, Rampur was left behind in the march towards development. This family only plays politics with Muslims, but BJP never discriminates in the name of religion.”
Yogi wants to give Akhilesh Yadav and his party a strong setback by winning Rampur and Mainpuri, both considered citadels of Azam Khan and Mulayam Singh respectively. Both these leaders founded the Samajwadi party.
Yogi has roped in leaders who were at one time close associates of these leaders. On Friday, union minister S P Singh Baghel, who at one time used to be security officer of late Mulayam Singh Yadav, was addressing an election meeting, where he said, “I had a dream last night. Netaji told me, you people must teach Akhilesh a lesson, because he treated me badly during my last days.”
Such is the style, tone and tenor of campaign in UP byelections. It is a straight contest between BJP and Samajwadi Party in Mainpuri and Rampur, and both the parties have deployed their full force in campaigning.
If you want to understand the strategies of both parties, you should watch those sitting on the dais. On the dais with Akhilesh Yadav, sits the entire Mulayam Singh clan, including Shivpal Singh and Ramgopal Yadav. They want to give the message that the entire clan is one and is fighting to save the legacy of Late Mulayam Singh Yadav.
On the dais with Yogi Adityanath, you will notice leaders belonging to different communities like Raghuraj Shakya (the BJP candidate representing Shakya community), minister Baby Rani Maurya and union minister B L Maurya (representing Maurya community), minister Mannu Koeri (representing Koeri community), minister Daya Shankar Singh (representing Rajput community), minister Rakesh Sachan (representing Kurmi community), union minister S. P. Singh Baghel (representing Baghel community).
Yogi is giving a clear message – different communities will join hands to defeat the Mulayam Singh Yadav clan. The results will be out on December 8.
गुजरात : मोदी का रोड शो गेमचेंजर साबित हो सकता है
गुजरात की नब्ज़ माने जानेवाले अहमदाबाद की सड़कों पर गुरुवार को एक अद्भुत नज़ारा देखने को मिला। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के रोड शो के दौरान पूरे रास्ते में सड़क के दोनों तरफ लोगों की जबरदस्त भीड़ दिखी। वाहनों के काफिले के साथ पीएम मोदी ने 50 किमी की दूरी तय की। इस दौरान समर्थकों ने उनपर फूल बरसाए। पीएम मोदी का काफिला 13 प्रमुख विधानसभा सीटों – नरोडा, ठक्करबापा नगर, निकोल, बापूनगर, अमराईवाडी, मणिनगर, दाणीलिमडा, जमालपुर खाडिया, एलिसब्रिज, वेजलपुर, घाटलोडिया, नारणपुरा और साबरमती से होकर गुजरा।
मोदी का रोड शो नरोडा से शुरू हुआ और चांदखेड़ा में जाकर खत्म हुआ। इस दौरान नौजवान, बुजुर्ग, छोटे-छोटे बच्चों को गोद में लिए महिलाएं, सभी सड़क के किनारे खड़े होकर मोदी की एक झलक पाने के लिए बेसब्री से इंतजार करते नजर आए। सड़कों पर बजते ढोल-नगाड़े और आसमान में चमकती आतिशबाजी से ऐसा लग रहा था कि जैसे यह चुनाव प्रचार नहीं बल्कि कोई विजय जुलूस हो। सब जानते हैं कि गुजरात में मोदी कितने लोकप्रिय हैं, यहां लोग मोदी के दीवाने हैं और मोदी के नाम पर वोट देते हैं। पिछले दो दशक से ज्यादा समय से गुजरात की जनता उन्हें और उनकी पार्टी को वोट दे रही है।
लोग ‘मोदी-मोदी’ के नारे लगा रहे थे। कई जगह तो ‘देखो-देखो कौन आया..शेर आया.. शेर आया’ जैसे नारे लगे। बीजेपी नेताओं ने दावा किया कि यह किसी भी भारतीय राजनेता का अब तक का सबसे लंबा रोड शो है। रोड शो के दौरान इतना जोश नजर आया कि मुझे लगता है कि इन इलाकों में जो बीजेपी के उम्मीदवार हैं उन्हें ये लग रहा होगा कि उनकी जीत तो पक्की हो गई। वहीं दूसरी पार्टियों के उम्मीदवारों के दिल बैठ रहे होंगे। रोड शो के दौरान गुजरात की जनता का उमड़ा प्यार और स्नेह नरेंद्र मोदी की एक नेता के तौर पर लोकप्रियता और उनकी स्वीकार्यता का नज़ारा है। किसी और पार्टी के पास गुजरात में मोदी जैसा नेता नहीं है, किसी के पास मोदी जैसा चुनाव प्रचारक नहीं है। मोदी का यह रोड शो इस मायने में खास रहा क्योंकि गुजरात की सियासत में ये माना जाता है कि जिसने अहमदाबाद की अधिकांश सीटें जीत ली, सरकार उसी की बनती है।
अहमदाबाद में विधानसभा की कुल 21 सीटें है और 2017 के चुनाव में बीजेपी ने 15 सीटें जीती थी। बीजेपी का स्ट्राइक रेट करीब 70 प्रतिशत था। 2017 के चुनाव में बीजेपी और कांग्रेस के बीच कड़ा मुकाबला देखने को मिला था। बीजेपी ने 99 सीटें जीतकर सरकार बनाई थी जबकि कांग्रेस 77 सीटों के साथ दूसरे नंबर पर रही थी।
2017 में गुजरात के कुल 33 जिलों में से 15 जिलों में कांग्रेस ने बीजेपी से ज्यादा सीटें जीती थी। बीजेपी केवल 13 जिलों में कांग्रेस से आगे थी। तीन जिलों में दोनों पार्टियों ने बराबर सीटें जीती लेकिन वह अहमदाबाद था जिसने बीजेपी को कांग्रेस पर निर्णायक बढ़त दिलाई थी। अहमदाबाद में पाटीदार समाज के लोगों की संख्या अच्छी खासी है। पिछली बार पाटीदार आरक्षण आंदोलन अपने चरम पर था। इसके बावजूद बीजेपी 21 में से 15 सीटें जीतने में सफल रही।
इस बार बीजेपी अपना प्रदर्शन और बेहतर करते हुए अहमदाबाद में क्लीन स्वीप करना चाहती है । यही वजह है कि नरेंद्र मोदी ने अहमदाबाद की सड़कों पर 50 किमी की दूरी तय कर 4 घंटे बिताए। मोदी का रोड शो जिन विधानसभा सीटों से गुजरा उनमें मुख्यमंत्री भूपेंद्र पटेल की सीट घाटलोडिया भी शामिल है। इस सीट पर कांग्रेस की राज्यसभा सांसद अमी याग्निक भूपेंद्र पटेल को टक्कर दे रही हैं।
कई लोगों ने मुझसे पूछा है कि नरेंद्र मोदी गुजरात के चुनाव में आखिर इतनी मेहनत क्यों कर रहे हैं ? दिनभर रैलियों को संबोधित करने के बाद 50 किलोमीटर लंबा रोड शो करने की क्या जरूरत थी ? जब सारे ओपिनियन पोल कह रहे हैं कि बीजेपी की जीत हो रही है तो मोदी को इस तरह मैदान में उतरने की क्या जरूरत थी? अगर आप कांग्रेस या केजरीवाल की पार्टी के लोगों की बात सुनेंगे तो वे कहेंगे कि मोदी को इतनी मेहनत इसलिए करनी पड़ रही है क्योंकि बीजेपी की हालत खराब है। वे कहेंगे कि बीजेपी ने अगर 27 साल में काम किए होते तो मोदी को इतना जोर लगाने की जरूरत नहीं पड़ती।
लेकिन अगर आप मोदी को जानते हैं और गुजरात को समझते हैं तो ये बातें बचकानी लगेंगी। क्या राहुल गांधी गुजरात में इसलिए प्रचार नहीं कर रहे क्योंकि यहां कांग्रेस की भारी जीत होने जा रही है ? क्या केजरीवाल कई महीने से गुजरात की सड़कों की खाक छान रहे हैं क्योंकि उनकी पार्टी जीतने वाली है? ऐसी बातों में कोई तर्क नहीं है। अगर मोदी गुजरात में कम प्रचार करते तो यही लोग कहते कि गुजरात में बीजेपी हार रही है इसलिए इस बार मोदी मैदान छोड़कर भाग गए।
बता दें कि चुनाव प्रचार में मशक्कत करना, पूरी जान लगा देना नरेंद्र मोदी के चरित्र का मूल गुण है। अगर 2017 के चुनाव प्रचार से तुलना करें तो इस बार गुजरात में मोदी ने कम रैलियां की हैं। 5 साल पहले जब विधानसभा के चुनाव हुए थे तो मोदी ने 34 जनसभाओं को संबोधित किया था। इस बार उनका प्लान 27 रैलियों को संबोधित करने का है। लेकिन ये सही है कि बाकी नेताओं के मुकाबले मोदी की मेहनत को देखकर विरोधियों को आश्चर्य होता है।
आखिरकार मोदी प्रधानमंत्री हैं और उनकी अपनी जिम्मेदारियां और चिंताएं हैं। उन्हें शासकीय मामलों के लिए भी समय चाहिए। प्रधानमंत्री पहले भी हुए हैं लेकिन किसी ने इस अंदाज़ में और इतना सक्रिय होकर चुनाव प्रचार में हिस्सा नहीं लिया। मुझे लगता है कि बाकी नेताओं और विरोधियों में फर्क ये है कि मोदी चुनाव प्रचार और चुनाव लड़ने को इन्जॉय करते हैं। उन्हें चुनाव प्रचार में लोगों के बीच जाकर आनंद की अनुभूति होती है, इसीलिए थकान नहीं होती।
दूसरी बात ये है कि मोदी हर चुनाव को पूरी तैयारी और मजबूत रणनीति के साथ लड़ते हैं, ये उनकी फितरत है। इसीलिए वो एक के बाद एक चुनाव जीतते जाते हैं। अगर कांग्रेस के सबसे बड़े चुनाव प्रचारक राहुल गांधी से उनकी तुलना करें तो फर्क साफ नजर आएगा। राहुल गांधी गुजरात में एक दिन मुंह दिखाकर लौट आए। उन्होंने दो रैलियों को संबोधित किया और चले गए। ऐसे में कांग्रेस कैसे जीतेगी? उनकी भारत जोड़ो यात्रा अपने आप में अच्छा प्रयास हो सकती है, लेकिन गुजरात और दिल्ली में कांग्रेस का सबसे बड़ा चुनाव प्रचारक नहीं दिखेगा तो कार्यकर्ताओं में उत्साह कहां से दिखाई देगा ?
मुझे लगता है विरोधी दलों के नेता मोदी को अभी पूरी तरह समझ नहीं पाए। वे यह तय नहीं कर पाते कि जो मोदी करते हैं, उसे फॉलो करें या जो मोदी करते हैं उसका उल्टा करें। इसीलिए मोदी इन सबसे आगे हैं और लोगों का भरोसा जीतने में कामयाब होते हैं। यही वजह है कि मोदी का अहमदाबाद रोड शो इतना सफल दिखाई दिया।
मोदी को एक और फायदा है। चुनाव प्रचार के दौरान उनके विरोधी जाने-अनजाने उनकी खूब मदद करते हैं, बैठे-बिठाए उन्हें ऐसा मुद्दा थमा देते हैं जिससे वे मतदाताओं को अपनी तरफ मोड़ने में कामयाब हो जाते हैं। कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे ने मोदी की तुलना रावण से कर दी और उन्हें ‘100 सिर वाला रावण’ बता दिया। मोदी ने खड़गे के इस बयान को गुजरात के सम्मान के साथ जोड़ दिया। वे अब अपनी रैलियों में मतदाताओं से कह रहे हैं कि ‘गुजरात का अपमान करने के लिए कांग्रेस को सबक सिखाएं।’
पता नहीं कांग्रेस कब समझेगी कि मोदी को रावण कहने से गुजरात की जनता भड़कती है। यह हमेशा उल्टा पड़ता है। अगर आप गुजरात में मोदी को ‘रावण’ कहेंगे तो जनता बर्दाश्त नहीं करेगी। मोदी को ‘मौत का सौदागर’ कहने का नतीजा कांग्रेस ने देखा है। मोदी को ‘नीच’ कहने का असर क्या होता है ये भी कांग्रेस को मालूम है।
मोदी अपमान करने वाले शब्दों की बाजी को पलटना जानते हैं। खासतौर पर गुजरात में जहां लोगों की भावनाएं मोदी से जुड़ी हैं वहां रावण शब्द का इस्तेमाल भारी पड़ सकता है। कांग्रेस के पास अच्छा खासा जनाधार है, एक विचारधारा है। अगर कांग्रेस मोदी के लिए अपशब्द कहने की बजाए उनकी आलोचना करती और अपने कार्यकर्ताओं में जोश भरकर उन्हें काम पर लगाती तो पार्टी को फायदा हो सकता था।
Gujarat: Modi roadshow can become the gamechanger
For nearly four hours, the roads of Ahmedabad, the nerve centre of Gujarat, witnessed a spectacular show on Thursday evening. Prime Minister Narendra Modi covered 50 kilometres with a cavalcade of vehicles, while his supporters showered petals on him. The cavalcade passed through 13 key assembly seats – Naroda, Thakkarbapa Nagar, Nikol, Bapunagar, Amraiwadi, Maninagar, Danilimda, Jamalpur Khadia, Ellis Bridge, Vejalpur, Ghatlodia, Naranpura and Sabarmati.
It started from Naroda and ended in Chandkheda. There were men, women, children, senior citizens, mothers carrying kids with them, standing on both sides of the route, eagerly waiting to have a glimpse of Modi. Supporters sang and danced to drumbeats, there were fireworks, and it appeared as if it was not an election campaign, but a victory procession. Modi’s popularity in his home state needs no elaboration, and the people of Gujarat have been voting for him and his party consecutively for more than two decades.
There were slogans of ‘Modi, Modi’ and ‘Dekho Dekho Koun Aaya, Gujarat Ka Sher Aaya’. BJP leaders claimed that this was the longest roadshow by any Indian politician ever. BJP candidates, from whose areas Modi passed through, were jubilant, certain about their victory, while there was a glum response from opposition candidates. The love and affection showed by common Gujaratis during the roadshow underlines Modi’s wide acceptability as a leader statesman. The opposition leaders had no such star campaigner to counter Modi. The lexicon of Gujarat politics is clear on one point: the party that wins most of the seats in Ahmedabad rules Gujarat.
There are 21 assembly seats in Ahmedabad, and in the 2017 election, BJP had won 15. Its strike rate was nearly 70 per cent. The 2017 elections had witnessed a strong fight between BJP and Congress. BJP formed the government after winning 99 seats while the Congress was second with 77 seats.
In 15 out of 33 districts of Gujarat, Congress had won more seats than the BJP in 2017. BJP was ahead of Congress in only 13 districts. In three districts, both the parties scored almost equal number of seats. But it was in Ahmedabad that BJP scored the decisive edge. There is a large number of voters from Patidar community in Ahmedabad. In 2017, the Patidar reservation movement was at its peak, and BJP was on the backfoot. Yet, the party won 15 out of 21 seats in Ahmedabad.
This time, BJP plans to make a clean sweep in Ahmedabad. This is the reason why Prime Minister Narendra Modi spent four hours traversing 50 km through the roads of Ahmedabad. The constituencies through which his cavalcade passed include Ghatlodia, where Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is fighting a battle against Congress Rajya Sabha MP Amee Yajnik.
I had queries from several people asking why Prime Minister Narendra Modi is spending so much time and energy on Gujarat elections. Some of them asked why Modi, after addressing rallies during the day, decided to take out a 50-km long road show. If you listen to the arguments from Congress leaders, they will say that BJP is now in a weak position. They say, had the BJP government worked better during its 27 year-long-rule, Modi would not have been devoting much time and energy.
If you understand Modi and Gujarat, you may find these arguments childish. Is Rahul Gandhi not campaigning in Gujarat because Congress is heading towards a landslide victory this time? Is Kejriwal travelling the roads and alleys of Gujarat for the last several months because he thinks AAP may win this time? There is no logic in such arguments. Had Modi spent less time and energy on campaigning in Gujarat, the same leaders would have said, BJP is losing and that’s why Modi has run away.
Let me tell you, devoting maximum time and energy in election campaign has always been the basic quality of Narendra Modi’s character. Compared to 2017, Modi is addressing lesser number of rallies this time. Five years ago, he addressed 34 election rallies, and this time he plans to address 27 rallies. It is also true that compared to other leaders, Modi’s stamina and energy has always surprised his rivals.
As prime minister, Modi has onerous responsibilities and he needs time to attend to matters of state. There have been prime ministers in the past, but no other prime minister participated so actively in election campaigns. The difference is: Modi enjoys campaigning and contesting poll battles. He feels joy when he goes among the people. He never tires.
Secondly, Modi always fights an electoral battle with a finetuned strategy. This has been his USP, and that is why he has been scoring consecutive electoral victories. If you compare him with, say, Rahul Gandhi, Congress’s biggest campaigner, you will note the difference. Rahul visited Gujarat for a day, he addressed two rallies and left. How can Congress win with such a leader? Rahul’s Bharat Jodo Yatra may be a good effort, but if the main campaigner is not visible in Delhi and Gujarat, how can his party workers get the zeal and enthusiasm?
I think opposition leaders have not yet understood Modi fully. They are unable to decide whether to copy Modi or do the opposite. That is why, Modi is always ahead in the race and he continues to win the trust of the people. There lies the reason behind the success of Thursday’s Ahmedabad roadshow.
Modi has one more advantage. His rivals unknowingly give him a handle while campaigning. Modi grabs the point and uses it as a big handle to turn the voters towards him. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge described him as a ‘Ravana with 100 heads’. Modi picked up this comment and linked it with Gujarat’s pride. He is now telling voters in his rallies to “teach the Congress a lesson for insulting Gujarat”.
I do not know when Congress leaders will realize that abusing Modi, and that too, in his home state Gujarat, is always counter-productive. If you describe Modi as ‘Ravana’ in Gujarat, the people will not tolerate. Remember, how nearly two decades ago, the then Congress President Sonia Gandhi had described Modi as ‘Maut Ke Saudagar’(merchant of death), and the Congress had to bite the dust at the hustings. Remember, when Mani Shanker Aiyar described Modi as ‘Neech’ during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections?
Modi knows how to convert the election game by highlighting such insults. In Modi’s home state, if you use the word ‘Ravana’ for him, it will immediately touch the emotional chords of Gujarati voters. Congress has a good base in Gujarat, it has an ideology. Instead of using insulting words, the Congress leaders could have criticized him and his party on issues and promises, and the party could have reaped gains.
गुजरात, दिल्ली और यूपी में चुनावी बुखार
गुजरात के 89 विधानसभा क्षेत्रों में आज मध्यम से भारी मतदान हुआ । बाकी सीटों के लिए चुनाव प्रचार अपने चरम पर है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, यूपी के सीएम योगी आदित्यनाथ और गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने रैली और रोड शो किये।
पंचमहल जिले में एक रैली को संबोधित करते हुए पीएम मोदी ने कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे के उस बयान का जिक्र किया जिसमें उन्होंने मोदी को रावण कहा था। मोदी ने कहा, ‘मैं खड़गे जी का सम्मान करता हूं लेकिन उन्हें पार्टी आलाकमान के आदेश का पालन करना होता है। उन्हें यह कहने के लिए मजबूर किया गया कि मोदी के रावण की तरह 100 सिर हैं … इस तरह के अपमानजनक शब्द गुजरात के लोगों का अपमान है, जिन्होंने मुझे इस धरती पर पाल पोस कर बड़ा किया है।‘ मोदी ने कहा, ‘कांग्रेस को सबक सिखाने का एक ही तरीका है। ईवीएम पर कमल का बटन दबाकर भाजपा को वोट दें। जब भी वे हम पर कीचड़ उछालेंगे, हमारा कमल खिलेगा।
आज जिन 19 जिलों की 89 विधानसभा सीटों पर मतदान हो रहा है उन में अनुसूचित जनजाति और पाटीदार मतदाताओं की संख्या सबसे ज्यादा है। पिछले चुनाव में बीजेपी ने 48 और कांग्रेस ने 38 सीटों पर जीत हासिल की थी। पांच साल पहले आदिवासी इलाकों में कांग्रेस ने अच्छा प्रदर्शन किया था और पाटीदार आरक्षण आंदोलन ने बीजेपी को काफी नुकसान पहुंचाया था, लेकिन इस बार तस्वीर बदली हुई है।
बीजेपी ने इस बार आदिवासी मतदाताओं के बीच जोर-शोर से प्रचार किया है। बीजेपी के नेताओं को उम्मीद है कि आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) सौराष्ट्र-कच्छ में कांग्रेस के वोट काट सकती है। आप नेता जीतने योग्य उम्मीदवारों की तलाश में इतने उतावले थे कि उन्होंने आपराधिक पृष्ठभूमि वाले उम्मीदवारों को टिकट दे दिया।
एसोसिएशन ऑफ डेमोक्रेटिक रिफॉर्म्स (एडीआर) ने अपनी ताजा रिपोर्ट में कहा है कि गुजरात में 1,621 उम्मीदवारों में से 330 के खिलाफ आपराधिक मामले दर्ज हैं। इस लिस्ट में आप सबसे ऊपर है। आप ने 181 सीटों पर उम्मीदवार उतारे हैं जिनमें 61 उम्मीदवार आपराधिक पृष्ठभूमि वाले हैं। इसका मतलब है कि आप के तीन में से एक उम्मीदवार की पृष्ठभूमि आपराधिक है। वहीं कांग्रेस इस लिस्ट में दूसरे नंबर पर है। उसके 61 उम्मीदवारों की पृष्ठभूमि आपराधिक है। यानी, कांग्रेस के तीन में से एक उम्मीदवार की आपराधिक पृष्ठभूमि है। वहीं बीजेपी के 32 प्रत्याशी ऐसे हैं, जिनके खिलाफ आपराधिक मामले दर्ज हैं।
आपराधिक पृष्ठभूमि वाले 330 उम्मीदवारों में से 192 पर हत्या, हत्या के प्रयास और बलात्कार के आरोप हैं। ऐसे 43 उम्मीदवारों के साथ आप इस लिस्ट में सबसे ऊपर है, कांग्रेस 28 उम्मीदवारों के साथ दूसरे नंबर पर है जबकि बीजेपी के ऐसे 25 उम्मीदवार चुनाव मैदान में किस्मत आजमा रहे हैं।
उत्तर प्रदेश में भी कुछ खास सीटों पर उपचुनाव के लिए भी प्रचार जारी है। यहां सोमवार को मतदान होगा। वहीं दिल्ली नगर निगम (एमसीडी) चुनाव के लिए रविवार को मतदान होगा। एमसीडी चुनाव के लिए बीजेपी के कई मुख्यमंत्री और केंद्रीय मंत्री प्रचार कर रहे हैं।
उत्तर प्रदेश
पश्चिमी यूपी के खतौली विधानसभा क्षेत्र में सीएम योगी आदित्यनाथ ने रैलियों को संबोधित किया । योगी ने लोगों को यह याद दिलाया कि समाजवादी पार्टी के शासन के दौरान किस तरह बड़े पैमाने पर अपराध हुआ करते थे। उन्होंने सपा के ‘माफिया राज’ की तुलना अफगानिस्तान में तालिबान के राज से की।
योगी ने कहा, ‘एक जमाना था जब गुंडागर्दी की वजह से बहन-बेटियों का घर से बाहर निकलना मुहाल था। छेड़खानी के डर से बेटियां स्कूल-कॉलेज नहीं जा पाती थीं। व्यापारी पलायन कर रहे थे। राहगीर लूट लिए जाते थे। लेकिन आज बीजेपी के शासन में हालात बदल गए हैं। कानून का राज है। गुंडे और अपराधी अपराध करने से डरते हैं।’ योगी ने कहा, ‘ अब कानून का शासन है।’ मुख्यमंत्री ने याद दिलाया कि कैसे सपा के शासन के दौरान पश्चिमी यूपी में अपराधी किसानों के मवेशियों को लूट लिया करते थे और उनकी हत्या तक कर देते थे ।
मुझे याद है कि इस साल की शुरुआत में यूपी विधानसभा चुनाव के समय सपा और राष्ट्रीय लोकदल गठबंधन पश्चिमी यूपी में क्लीन स्वीप की उम्मीद कर रहा था, लेकिन कानून और व्यवस्था के मुद्दे पर बीजेपी को बढ़त मिल गई और मतदाताओं ने योगी को पसंद किया। इस बात से कोई इनकार नहीं कर सकता कि योगी के शासन में यूपी में कानून व्यवस्था में काफी सुधार हुआ है। योगी ने बुधवार को कहा कि अगर उनकी पुलिस ने माफियाओं और अपराधियों के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई नहीं की होती तो हालात सुधर नहीं सकते थे।
सपा सुप्रीमो मुलायम सिंह यादव के निधन के बाद हो रहे मैनपुरी लोकसभा उपचुनाव में समाजवादी पार्टी के अध्यक्ष अखिलेश यादव ने अपनी पत्नी डिंपल यादव को टिकट देकर इसे प्रतिष्ठा की लड़ाई बना लिया है। अखिलेश मतदाताओं को मुलायम सिंह यादव के परिवार की विरासत याद दिला रहे हैं। जसवंत नगर में अखिलेश यादव और उनके चाचा शिवपाल यादव एक रैली में साथ दिखे और पार्टी के लिए वोट मांगे। अखिलेश ने चाचा के पैर छुए तो शिवपाल यादव ने मतदाताओं से कहा कि यह उपचुनाव यादव परिवार के लिए प्रतिष्ठा का विषय है।
मैनपुरी यादव परिवार का गढ़ रहा है। अगर आज़मगढ़ की तरह ये सीट समाजवादी पार्टी के हाथ से निकल गई तो ये अखिलेश यादव को लिए बहुत बड़ा झटका साबित होगा। उनके चाचा शिवपाल यादव के साथ आने से अखिलेश को थोड़ा समर्थन भी मिला है। चाचा शिवपाल यादव ने भतीजे अखिलेश यादव को नया नाम भी दे दिया है। शिवपाल ने कहा कि नेताजी को मैनपुरी-इटावा के लोग बड़ा मंत्री और उन्हें छोटा मंत्री कहते थे। अब वो लोगों से अपील करते हैं कि अखिलेश को सभी लोग ‘छोटे नेताजी’ के नाम से संबोधित करें।
बीजेपी नेता और यूपी के डिप्टी सीएम केशव प्रसाद मौर्य ने मतदाताओं को याद दिलाया कि अखिलेश यादव ने कई महीने पहले अपने चाचा शिवपाल का अपमान किया था। वहीं समाजवादी पार्टी के नेता रामगोपाल यादव ने चुनाव आयोग को एक ज्ञापन सौंपकर आरोप लगाया कि मैनपुरी में मतदाता सूची से मुस्लिम मतदाताओं के नाम काट दिए गए हैं। उन्होंने इटावा-मैनपुरी के डीएम और एसपी को हटाने की मांग की।
एक और सियासी लड़ाई रामपुर में हो रही है जहां विधानसभा के उपचुनाव हो रहे हैं। सपा नेता आजम खान को भड़काऊ भाषण देने के मामले में तीन साल कैद की सजा सुनाए जाने और उनकी सदस्यता छिन जाने के बाद अब यह विधानसभा सीट खाली हुई है।
बुधवार को एक रैली को संबोधित करते हुए आजम खान ने आरोप लगाया कि बीजेपी मुस्लिम मतदाताओं को वोट के अधिकार से वंचित करने की योजना बना रही है। आजम खान ने तंज कसते हुए कहा, ‘8 दिसंबर को रामपुर के नतीजे आने के बाद अब्दुल (एक आम मुस्लिम नाम) बीजपी के लिए फर्श पोछेंगे।’ उन्होंने कहा, ‘सभी ठेकेदार और अमीर मुसलमान जो अपनी संपत्ति का हिसाब नहीं दे सके, उन्होंने हमारी पार्टी छोड़ दी और बीजेपी में शामिल हो गए। कुरैशी, जिनके खिलाफ गोहत्या के 50-50 मामले लंबित थे, भाजपा में शामिल हो गए हैं। सारे देशद्रोही मुझे छोड़कर चले गए और अब सिर्फ वफ़ादार ही बचे हैं।’
आजम खान सपने में भी नहीं सोच सकते थे कि उनका उम्मीदवार रामपुर से चुनाव हार सकता है । योगी ने उनके उम्मीदवार को लोकसभा उपचुनाव में हराकर दिखाया। अब फिर आजम खान की सीट (रामपुर विधानसभा सीट) पर उपचुनाव है और उनकी प्रतिष्ठा का सवाल है। इस बार आजम खान लोगों को अपने जख्म दिखा रहे हैं। अपने ऊपर हुए जुल्मों की याद दिला रहे हैं। वो लोगों को ये भी बता रहे हैं कि मुसलमानों के हक खतरे में हैं। आजम खान मतदाताओं को ये याद दिलाकर इमोशनल कार्ड खेल रहे हैं ।
दिल्ली
दिल्ली नगर निगम चुनाव में प्रचार खत्म होने में दो दिन बाकी हैं। इसलिए सभी पार्टियों ने प्रचार में पूरी ताक़त लगा दी है। सभी पार्टियों ने अपने स्टार प्रचारकों को उतारा है। भाजपा अध्यक्ष जेपी नड्डा, आप प्रमुख अरविंद केजरीवाल और अन्य शीर्ष नेता कई रोड शो कर चुके हैं।
बुधवार को बीजेपी की तरफ़ से कई बड़े नेताओं ने दिल्ली में प्रचार किया। मध्य प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान, उत्तराखंड के सीएम पुष्कर धामी, हिमाचल के मुख्यमंत्री जयराम ठाकुर के अलावा केंद्रीय मंत्री, नितिन गडकरी, अनुराग ठाकुर, भूपेंद्र यादव, हरदीप पुरी और ज्योतिरादित्य सिंधिया ने चुनाव प्रचार किया। सिंधिया ने कहा, आम आदमी पार्टी को अब अपना नाम बदलकर ‘खास आदमी पार्टी’ कर लेना चाहिए क्योंकि उनके मंत्री सत्येंद्र जैन जेल में ऐशो-आराम की जिंदगी जी रहे हैं। सिंधिया ने सवाल किया कि दिल्ली के सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल सत्येंद्र जैन को बर्खास्त क्यों नहीं कर रहे हैं?
केंद्रीय सड़क परिवहन एवं परिवहन मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने एक चुनावी सभा को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि केंद्र की सरकार दिल्ली के विकास के लिए बहुत से काम कर रही है। गडकरी ने कहा कि दूसरे शहरों से दिल्ली की कनेक्टिविटी बढ़ाने के लिए वो ख़ुद काफ़ी ज़ोर दे रहे हैं।
गडकरी ने कहा कि इतनी अच्छी सड़कें बन रही हैं कि अगले साल जनवरी से दिल्ली से जयपुर, देहरादून और हरिद्वार, 2 घंटे में पहुंचा जा सकेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली से चंडीगढ़ ढाई घंटे में, दिल्ली से अमृतसर 4 घंटे में और दिल्ली से श्रीनगर 8 घंटे में पहुंचा सकता है वहीं दिल्ली से मुंबई का सफर केवल 12 घंटे में पूरा होगा।
केंद्रीय शहरी मामलों और आवास मंत्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी ने एक संवाददाता सम्मेलन को संबोधित करते हुए यह वादा किया कि एमसीडी का चुनाव जीतने के बाद बीजेपी दिल्ली में सभी अनधिकृत कॉलोनियों को नियमित करेगी। हरदीप पुरी ने कहा कि झुग्गी झोपड़ियों में रहने वालों को पक्के मकान दिए जाएंगे।
बीजेपी ने मुख्यमंत्रियों और केंद्र सरकार के भारी-भरकम मंत्रियों को दिल्ली के एमसीडी चुनाव में उतारकर चुनाव प्रचार को काफी दिलचस्प बना दिया है। एक जमाने में ये कोई नहीं सोच सकता कि नगर-निगम के चुनाव में मंत्री और मुख्यमंत्री नुक्कड़ सभाएं करेंगे और गली-गली जाकर वोट मांगेंगे।
ये बदलाव नरेंद्र मोदी ने किया है। ये उनकी स्टाइल है। मोदी हर चुनाव को बड़ी शिद्दत से लड़ते हैं । केजरीवाल इस तरह के व्यापक चुनाव प्रचार से परेशान नज़र आये । उन्होंने बुधवार को कई बार गिनाया कि बीजेपी ने कितने मंत्री और कितने मुख्यमंत्री एमसीडी के चुनाव के मैदान में उतारे हैं। वैसे केजरीवाल खुद भी दिल्ली के अपने सारे मंत्रियों और अपने अलावा पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान को गुजरात के चुनाव मैदान में उतार चुके हैं।
बीजेपी ने बुधवार को आप पर एक नया आरोप लगाया। पार्टी प्रवक्ता संबित पात्रा ने आरोप लगाया कि केजरीवाल ने मोहल्ला सभा बनाकर दिल्ली के विकास के लिए जो योजना तैयार की है, वह पूरी तरह फर्जी है। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि 12 विधानसभा क्षेत्रों में विकास कार्यों के लिए 20 करोड़ रुपये दिए गए थे लेकिन उन पैसों का क्या हुआ, किसी को नहीं पता। संबित पात्रा ने कहा-ये 20 करोड़ रुपए कहां गुम हो गए इसका जवाब केजरीवाल को देना चाहिए।
कुछ दिन पहले तक केजरीवाल हर रोज बीजेपी के नेताओं पर विधायकों को खरीदने का आरोप लगाते थे। ये गिनाते थे कि सरकारें बनाने-गिराने पर कितने करोड़ खर्च किए गए लेकिन जब बीजेपी ने भ्रष्टाचार को लेकर पलटवार किया तो केजरीवाल ने चाल बदल ली। अब वो कहते हैं-‘मैं सिर्फ विकास की बात करता हूं, स्वास्थ्य और शिक्षा की बात करता हूं।’
Poll fever in Gujarat, Delhi and UP
With moderate to heavy polling going on in 89 assembly constituencies of Gujarat, campaigning is at its peak for the remaining seats of Gujarat with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Home Minister Amit Shah addressing rallies and taking out road shows.
At a rally in Panchmahal district, Modi mentioned Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s “Ravana’ jibe against him. He said, “I respect Khargeji but he has to follow orders of the party high command. He was compelled to say that Modi has 100 heads like Ravana…Such abusive words are an insult to the people of Gujarat, who have raised me on this land.” Modi said, “There is only one way to teach the Congress a lesson. Vote for BJP by pushing the Lotus button (on EVM). Our Lotus will bloom every time they throw mud at us.”
Scheduled tribes and Patidar voters constitute a large chunk in the 89 constituencies spread over 19 districts that went to polling today. In the last elections, BJP had won 48 and the Congress had won 38 seats. Five years ago, Congress had scored well in tribal areas, and the Patidar reservation movement had hurt the BJP badly, but this time, the scene has changed.
BJP has campaigned strongly this time among tribal voters, and its leaders expect that the AAP can cut into Congress vote base in Saurashtra-Kutch region. AAP leaders were so desperate in their search for winnable candidates that they gave tickets to candidates with criminal background.
Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) in its latest report has said that 330 out of 1,621 candidates in Gujarat have criminals cases filed against them. AAP tops the list with 61 candidates having criminal background. AAP has fielded candidates in 181 seats. It means, one in three AAP candidates has a criminal background. Congress comes next with 61 candidates having criminal background. So, one in three Congress candidates also has a criminal background. There are 32 BJP candidates who have criminal cases filed against them.
Out of the 330 candidates having criminal background, 192 have charges of murder, attempt to murder and rape against them. AAP tops the list with 43 such candidates, Congress is second with 28 candidates and BJP has 25 such candidates.
Campaigning is also going on for the byelections to some key seats in Uttar Pradesh, where polling will take place on Monday, and for the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections, where voting will take place on Sunday. Several BJP chief ministers and Union ministers are campaigning for the party in Delhi.
UTTAR PRADESH
In the western UP assembly constituency of Khatauli, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath addressed rallies reminding people of how crime was rampant during the previous Samajwadi Party regime. He compared the SP’s ‘mafia raj’ with that of Taliban in Afghanistan.
Yogi said, women during those days were afraid of coming out of their homes, girls refrained from attending schools and colleges due to eve teasers, Hindu traders were fleeing and travellers were being robbed, but now, during BJP rule, criminals in this area live in fear. “The law of the land has been fully enforced”, Yogi said. The chief minister reminded how farmers used to be robbed of their cattle and killed by criminals in western UP during SP’s rule.
During the UP assembly elections early this year, I remember, the Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Lok Dal combine were expecting a clean sweep in western UP, but it was on the law and order issue that BJP got the edge and the voters preferred Yogi. Nobody can deny that law and order in UP during Yogi’s rule has improved substantially. Yogi said on Wednesday that if his police had not taken severe action against mafia and criminals, the situation could not have improved.
In Mainpuri Lok Sabha byelection, which is taking place after the passing away of SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has made it a battle of prestige by fielding his wife Dimple Yadav. Akhilesh is reminding voters about the legacy of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s family. In Jaswant Nagar, Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal Yadav appeared together at a rally and sought votes for the party. Akhilesh touched his uncle’s feet, while Shivpal Yadav told voters that this byelection is a matter of prestige for the Yadav family.
Mainpuri has been a citadel for the Yadav family, and if Akhilesh loses this seat like Azamgarh, it will be big setback for him. His uncle Shivpal Yadav asked voters to address Akhilesh from now on as “Chhotey Netaji”. It was the late Mulayam Singh Yadav who had the honorific ‘Netaji’ title when he was alive.
BJP leader and UP deputy CM Kehsav Prasad Maurya reminded voters that it was Akhilesh Yadav who had insulted his uncle Shivpal several months ago. Samajwadi Party leader Ramgopal Yadav, on Wednesday, submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission alleging that names of Muslim voters have been removed from the electoral list in Mainpuri. He demanded removal of the District Collector and Superintendent of Police of Etawah-Mainpuri.
Another big battle is taking place in Rampur, where the assembly seat is now vacant after SP leader Azam Khan was sentenced to three years of imprisonment in a hate speech case and he lost his membership.
On Wednesday, while addressing a rally, Azam Khan alleged that BJP is making plans to disenfranchise Muslim voters. In a jibe, he said, after the results for Rampur are out on December 8, ‘Abdul (a common Muslim name) will mop the floor for BJP’. He said, “all the contractors and rich Muslims who could not give an account of their properties, left our party and joined BJP. Qureshis, who had 50-50 cases of cow slaughter pending against them, have joined the BJP. All the traitors have left me and now only the loyalists are left.”
Azam Khan never dreamed that he or his candidate would lose elections in Rampur, but Yogi ensured that his candidate was defeated in the Rampur Lok Sabha byelection. The present assembly byelection is a matter of prestige for him. Azam Khan is playing the emotional card by reminding voters what he had done for them.
DELHI
Two days are left for electioneering in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections. All the parties have brought in their star campaigners. Already BJP president J P Nadda, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and other top leaders have taken out several road shows.
On Wednesday, several BJP chief ministers Shivraj Chouhan, Pushkar Singh Dhami and Jairam Thakur, and Union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Anurag Thakur, Bhupendra Yadav, Hardip Puri and Jyotiraditya Scindia campaigned. Scindia said, Aam Aadmi Party should now rename itself as ‘ Khas Aadmi Party’ because its minister Satyendar Jain is living a lavish life inside jail. Scindia questioned why he was not being sacked by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
Union Roadways and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, while addressing an election meeting, said, the Centre had done much for delhi’s development. Better roads and highways are being built to connect the national capital with other cities.
Gadkari announced that from January next year, travel from Delhi to Jaipur, Dehradun and Haridwar can be completed in two hours. Travel from Delhi to Chandigarh can be completed in two and a half hours, and to Amritsar in four hours, to Srinagar in eight hours, and to Mumbai in only 12 hours, he said.
Union Urban Affairs and Housing Minister Hardip Singh Puri, while addressing a press conference attended by all Delhi BJP MPs, promised that all unauthorized colonies in Delhi will be regularized, and slum dwellers will be given concrete houses.
BJP has made the MCD elections interesting by inducting its chief ministers and union ministers. There was a time when nobody imagined that chief ministers and union ministers would address street meetings for Delhi’s municipal elections.
This change has been possible due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is his unique style and he fights each election with full force. It has left Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal worried. Kejriwal, on Wednesday, asked how many more chief ministers and union ministers will campaign in Delhi. On his part, Kejriwal has deployed all his ministers and Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann to campaign in Delhi.
On Wednesday, BJP levelled a fresh charge against AAP. Party spokesperson Sambit Patra alleged that the development plan prepared by Kejriwal for Delhi by creating Mohalla Sabha, was entirely fake. He alleged that Rs 20 crore were given for development work in 12 assembly constituencies, but nobody knows what happened to those funds. He demanded a reply on the fate of missing Rs 20 crore that was disbursed.
Kejriwal has now changed tack. A few weeks ago, he was alleging that BJP was buying MLAs in different states by distributing huge amount of cash. But when BJP launched a counter-attack and sought replies from him about scams in his government, Kejriwal said, “I only speak about development, I speak about health and education.”
