If elections were rigged by Modi, how Congress won Rajasthan, Chhatisgarh, AAP Delhi, Punjab and TMC Bengal?
Congress leaders and workers came out in full force on the streets on Friday to stage protests over rising prices and unemployment. Most of them wore black dress to observe ‘Black Friday’ as per instructions from party leadership. Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi, her son Rahul Gandhi and daughter Priyanka joined the protests wearing black dress. Senior party leader Mallikarjun Kharge wore a black ‘lungi’ and black ‘pagri’.
From Parliament, Sonia Gandhi, along with Rahul and all Congress MPs marched to Rashtrapati Bhawan, but were stopped by police at Vijay Chowk, where they were detained and taken to Kingsway Camp Police Lines. They were released in the evening.
Another group of Congress workers led by party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi marched from party HQ on Akbar Road towards the Prime Minister’s residence on Lok Kalyan Marg, but were stopped and detained by police. There was drama when Priyanka tried to scale the police barricades and scuffled with police personnel, before she was pushed into a waiting police vehicle. While Congress leaders alleged that many of them were shoved and manhandled by police, Delhi Police said, several police personnel were manhandled and injured by Congress workers.
Before joining the protest, Rahul Gandhi while addressing a press conference, alleged that the Modi government was dismantling the edifice of democracy in India, which had been built brick by brick over the last 70 years. The opposition, he alleged, was being systematically targeted by law enforcement agencies, which, he said, were being controlled by BJP and RSS.
Rahul Gandhi said, the whole of India knows this, and anybody who raises the voice of dissent, is being persecuted by the government, put in jail, arrested and beaten up. Hitler, he said, also came to power after winning elections because most of the institutions were under his control. “You give me the entire institutional establishment, and I will show you how elections are won”, Rahul Gandhi told the media.
Priyanka Gandhi along with Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot and other party leaders took LPG cylinders on the streets to highlight the steep rise in the price of LPG. At one place outside the Congress HQ , some women activists started cooking rotis on a makeshift fireplace made of bricks.
BJP leaders hit out at Rahul Gandhi saying “the entire nation knows who imposed dictatorship in 1975 during Emergency. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said, Rahul should look at his own party which has become the property of a dynasty.
BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, Rahul probably forgot that it was her grandmother Indira Gandhi who put top journalists and editors behind bars during Emergency. “Congress”, he said “has now lost the support of common people, the common man has stopped voting for Congress and that is why Rahul Gandhi is alleging that it is now the end of democracy.” Union Minister Giriraj Singh said, it was the Congress which took over control of all institutions during its 60 years-long-rule.
Rahul Gandhi’s remarks against Modi government on Friday reveals his outlook. He alleged that even Hitler used to win elections, but he should know that elections from panchayats to Parliament during the eight years of Modi’s rule have been free and fair, though in most of the polls the Congress lost. Is it justified to say there is dictatorship, if Congress fails to win elections?
During Modi’s rule, Congress won assembly elections in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh and formed governments, Mamata Banerjee won elections in West Bengal and got a third term, Arvind Kejriwal won elections and formed his government in Delhi twice, Congress lost in Punjab and AAP swept to power. Where these elections a fraud committed on the people? Were these elections not held democratically? To blame dictatorship for the electoral debacle of his own party is not a healthy tradition in democracy.
Rahul’s remark that he needed the state machinery to win elections is indeed surprising. Such remarks cannot be justified in a healthy democracy. Thirdly, he alleged that RSS supporters were sitting in all major posts of state machinery, but he did not placed a shred of evidence to substantiate his allegation. By making such unfounded allegations, Rahul is eroding his own credibility, and losing the trust of people. Rahul Gandhi’s caustic remarks were not political, but displayed his personal hatred towards Modi.
By Friday evening, Home Minister Amit Shah and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath gave a political reply, to which the Congress may find it difficult to respond. Amit Shah said, Congress chose the date August 5 for protest and wore black clothes because it wanted to give a subtle message in favour of appeasement politics on a day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Ram temple in Ayodhya. “ED raids and price rise were mere excuses, Congress’ real pain is about the construction of Ram temple. Today, Congress took one step further and its workers wore black clothes to stage protest”, Amit Shah said.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath said, August 5 is a day of pride for every Indian because on this day worship of Lord Shri Ram began at Ram Janmabhoomi for construction of Ram temple. “The protest by wearing black clothes on this day is a deliberate insult to all ‘bhakts’ of Lord Ram and the Supreme Court which gave its verdict in favour of the temple”, Yogi said.
It was left to Congress spokesman Pawan Khera to tweet that when the party raised issues of price rise and unemployment, BJP replied by raising temple-mosque issue. Congress leaders will have to give a cogent reply to the questions raised by Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath.
नेशनल हेराल्ड केस की ED जांच को लेकर कांग्रेस परेशान क्यों है ?
नेशनल हेराल्ड मामले को लेकर गुरुवार को संसद में कांग्रेस और बीजेपी के बीच जमकर वार-पलटवार हुआ । कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने ED द्वारा पूछताछ और तलाशी को ‘डराने-धमकाने’ की रणनीति का हिस्सा बताया और कहा कि उनकी पार्टी नरेंद्र मोदी से नहीं डरती। कांग्रेस नेताओं ने आरोप लगाया कि ED के अधिकारियों ने दिल्ली में हेराल्ड हाउस के उस हिस्से को सील कर दिया है, जहां से अखबार निकाला जा रहा था, लेकिन ईडी के सूत्रों ने कहा कि कंपनी से जुड़े किसी भी शख्स के मौजूद न होने के चलते सिर्फ यंग इंडियन के दफ्तर में ताला लगाया गया था।
राज्यसभा में विपक्ष के नेता मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे ने कहा कि इस समय जबकि संसद का सत्र चल रहा है, ED उन्हें समन कैसे जारी कर सकता है। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि केंद्र विपक्ष की आवाज दबाने की कोशिश कर रहा है। वाणिज्य मंत्री और सदन के नेता पीयूष गोयल ने जवाब दिया कि सरकार कानून प्रवर्तन अधिकारियों के काम में हस्तक्षेप नहीं करती है। गोयल ने कहा, ‘शायद उनके (कांग्रेस) शासन में, ऐसा हुआ करता था। अब अगर कोई कुछ गलत करता है तो एजेंसियां अपना काम करेंगी। अगर किसी नेता को तलब किया गया है तो उसे जाना चाहिए. कानून सबके लिए बराबर है।’
खड़गे ने राज्यसभा में यह नहीं बताया कि उन्हें ईडी ने पूछताछ के लिए नहीं बुलाया था। चूंकि वह यंग इंडियन लिमिटेड के CEO थे, जिसके पास एसोसिएटेड जर्नल्स लिमिटेड का मालिकाना हक है, इसलिए उन्हें हेराल्ड हाउस में बुलाया गया था ताकि ED के अधिकारी उनकी मोजूदगी में अपनी तलाशी जारी रख सकें।
दूसरी बात, यंग इंडियन के दफ्तर को सील नहीं किया गया था। असल में हेराल्ड हाउस में उस समय कंपनी से जुड़ा कोई शख्स मौजूद नहीं था, इसलिए ED ने रिकॉर्ड्स और दस्तावेज सुरक्षित रखने के लिए ऑफिस में ताला लगा दिया था। यंग इंडियन कंपनी के CEO होने के नाते खड़गे को ED ने हेराल्ड हाउस बुलाया था। संसद से खड्गे सीधे हेराल्ड हाउस गए, ताला खोला गया और उनकी मौजूदगी में करीब 7 घंटे तक तलाशी चलती रही। इसके बाद खड़गे वापस लौट आए। ED के अधिकारियों ने उन्हें तलाशी के दौरान जब्त किए गए दस्तावेज दिखाए।
संसद के बाहर राहुल गांधी ने पत्रकारों को बताया, ‘ये धमकाने की कोशिश है। ये सोचते हैं कि थोड़ा सा दबाव डालकर हमें चुप करा देंगे, लेकिन हम चुप नहीं होने वाले हैं। नरेंद्र मोदी जी, अमित शाह जी इस देश में लोकतंत्र के खिलाफ जो कर रहे हैं उसके विरूद्ध हम खड़े रहेंगे, चाहे ये कुछ भी कर लें। हमें कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता, हम डरने वाले नहीं हैं। हम नरेंद्र मोदी से नहीं डरते हैं। कर लें जो करना है। कुछ फर्क नहीं पड़ता। मेरा काम है देश की रक्षा करना, लोकतंत्र की रक्षा करना, देश में सद्भाव को बरकरार रखना, वह मैं करता रहूंगा।’
मौका कोई भी हो, मुद्दा कोई भी हो, जगह कोई भी हो, राहुल गांधी का एक डायलॉग फिक्स है, ‘मैं मोदी से नहीं डरता, मोदी मुझे नहीं डरा सकते।’ लेकिन मुझे लगता है कि जिस तरह राहुल गांधी अपना कर्नाटक दौरा बीच में छोडकर दिल्ली पहुंचे, वह कुछ और ही कहानी बयां करता है। कांग्रेस के नेता परेशान दिख रहे हैं और उनका डर साफ नजर आ रहा है।
मैंने कई अफसरों, नेताओं और कंपनी ऐक्ट एवं फाइनेंशल मुद्दों के एक्सपर्ट्स से बात की। मैंने राहुल और सोनिया गांधी के मालिकाना हक वाली यंग इंडियन कंपनी की संपत्तियों की जांच के लिए अलग-अलग शहरों में रिपोर्टर भेजे ।
इससे मुझे कई सवालों के जबाव मिल गए। एक बड़ा सवाल यह है कि नेशनल हेराल्ड अखबार कांग्रेस का था, कंपनी एसोसिएटेड जर्नल्स लिमिटेड कांग्रेस की थी, पार्टी ने अपनी ही कंपनी को कर्ज दिया, लेकिन उस कर्ज की वसूली के लिए दूसरी कंपनी बनाने की क्या जरूरत थी?
दूसरा सवाल यह है कि क्या वाकई में नेशनल हेराल्ड की हालत ऐसी थी कि उसे कर्ज़ लेना पड़ा, वह भी ऐसे समय में जब उसके पास तमाम शहरों में करोड़ों की संपत्तियां थीं? क्या वाकई में नेशनल हेराल्ड की हालत ऐसी नहीं थी कि वह 90 करोड़ रुपये का लोन वापस करने की हैसियत रखता था?
नेशनल हेराल्ड के स्वामित्व वाली संपत्तियों की हालत जांचने के लिए मैंने अपने रिपोर्टर्स को लखनऊ, भोपाल, मुंबई और पंचकूला भेजा। उन्होंने पाया कि अभी भी नेशनल हेराल्ड के पास सैकड़ों करोड़ रुपये की संपत्तियां हैं।
हमारे संवाददाता अनुराग अमिताभ ने बताया कि भोपाल में नेशनल हेराल्ड के नाम पर जो जमीन AJL को एलॉट की गई थी, उस जमीन पर शॉपिंग कॉम्प्लेक्स बनाकर दुकानें बेच दी गईं। असल में भोपाल के एमपी नगर प्रेस कॉम्प्लेक्स में 1981 में नेशनल हेराल्ड को एक रुपये प्रति स्क्वेयर फीट के हिसाब से एक एकड़ से ज्यादा जमीन 30 साल की लीज पर दी गई थी।
2011 में लीज खत्म होनी थी लेकिन इससे पहले ही इस प्लॉट पर एक कमर्शल कॉम्प्लेक्स बनाकर दुकानें बेच दी गईं। लीज रद्द कर प्रॉपर्टी को कब्जे में लेने की कार्रवाई शुरू हुई तो नेशनल हेराल्ड के साथ-साथ वे दुकानदार भी कोर्ट चले गए, जिन्होंने यहां दुकानें खरीदी हैं, और मामला फिलहाल कोर्ट में है। भोपाल में नेशनल हेराल्ड, नवजीवन और कौमी आवाज का पब्लिकेशन 1992 में ही बंद हो गया। पिछले 30 साल से अखबार तो नहीं छपा लेकिन अखबार छापने के लिए बनी प्रॉपर्टी पर AJL का कब्जा बरकरार रहा।
मध्य प्रदेश के मंत्री कैलाश सारंग ने आरोप लगाया कि कांग्रेस ने राज्य सरकार और आम लोगों, दोनों को गुमराह किया है। राज्य के शहरी विकास मंत्री भूपेंद्र सिंह ने कहा, कांग्रेस ने लीज एग्रीमेंट की शर्तों का उल्लंघन किया है और कार्रवाई की जाएगी। उन्होंने कहा कि इसमें शामिल अधिकारियों की भूमिका की भी जांच की जाएगी।
कांग्रेस सांसद विवेक तनखा ने कहा कि शायद ही कोई मीडिया हाउस होगा जिसने सरकार से मिली जमीन पर बनी प्रॉपर्टी को किराये पर नहीं दिया होगा, उसका व्यवसायिक इस्तेमाल नहीं किया होगा। उन्होंने कहा, ‘इसमें कुछ भी गलत नहीं है। नेशनल हेरल्ड को इसलिए निशाना बनाया जा रहा है क्योंकि सराकर सोनिया गांधी और राहुल गांधी को बेवजह परेशान करना चाहती है, और कुछ नहीं।’
यह बात सही है कि अखबारों को राज्य सरकारों से जो जमीन मिलती है, उस पर वे बिल्डिंग बनाते हैं और उसका कुछ हिस्सा किराये पर देते हैं। इसमें कुछ गलत नहीं हैं क्योंकि अखबार निकालना आसान नहीं है, उसे चलाना मुश्किल है। इसलिए अगर प्रॉप्रटी के व्यावसायिक इस्तेमाल से अखबार चलाने में मदद मिलती है, तो इसमें कोई बुराई नहीं है। लेकिन पहली शर्त यह है कि अखबार निकलना चाहिए, अखबार छपना चाहिए, लोगों के पास पहुंचना चाहिए। भोपाल में तो नेशनल हेराल्ड और नवजीवन का पब्लिकेशन 1992 में ही बंद हो गया था। ऐसे में सवाल उठता है कि किसके फायदे के लिए प्रॉपर्टी को शॉपिंग कॉम्प्लेक्स बनाकर बेचा गया? जो पैसा मिला था, वह कहां गया?
ऐसा नहीं है कि प्रॉपर्टी सिर्फ भोपाल में बेची गई, आपको मुंबई की तस्वीर दिखाता हूं। मुंबई में नेशनल हेराल्ड अखबार के लिए प्राइम लोकेशन बांद्रा ईस्ट में जमीन दी गई थी। यह जमीन वेस्टर्न एक्सप्रेसवे के पास है। 1983 में महाराष्ट्र में कांग्रेस की सरकार थी, और सूबे के मुख्यमंत्री अब्दुल रहमान अंतुले ने यह जमीन अलॉट की थी। आज की तारीख में इस जमीन की कीमत 300 करोड़ रुपये से ज्यादा है। अब इस जमीन पर एक बड़ी बिल्डिंग बनकर तैयार है और इस पूरी प्रॉपर्टी की कीमत 500 करोड़ रुपये से ज्यादा है। इस प्रॉप्रटी 2 फ्लोर किराये पर दिए गए हैं, और बाकी के फ्लोर के लिए किराएदार ढूंढे जा रहे हैं।
बांद्रा ईस्ट में यह जमीन नेशनल हेराल्ड के नाम पर मिली थी, लेकिन अखबार का यहां भी कोई नामोनिशान नहीं है। वहीं दूसरी ओर कंपनी को हर महीने करीब 15 लाख रुपये किराया मिल रहा है। किराये की कैलकुलेशन 5,000 रुपये प्रति स्क्वेयर फुट की दर से की गई है, और हर फ्लोर का कार्पेट एरिया 6,500 स्क्वेयर फुट है। AJL कंपनी ने एक मल्टीनेशनल कंपनी JLL रियल एस्टेट को इस बिल्डिंग को किराये पर उठाने का ठेका दिया है। बिल्डिंग के बाहर इस ‘किराये के लिए उपलब्ध’ का बोर्ड लगा था, लेकिन जैसे ही इंडिया टीवी की कैमरा टीम बिल्डिंग से सामने पहुंची, कुछ लोग आए और बोर्ड को हटा दिया।
जिस कंपनी के पास 500 करोड़ रुपये की प्रॉपर्टी सिर्फ मुंबई में हो, 90 करोड़ रुपये का लोन न चुकाने की एवज में उस कंपनी की सारी प्रॉपर्टी को दूसरी कंपनी के हवाले कर दिया जाए जिसमें 76 फीसदी शेयर सोनिया गांधी और राहुल गांधी के पास हैं, तो इसे क्या कहेंगे?
लखनऊ में हेराल्ड हाउस है, जिसमें एक बड़ा-सा शॉपिंग कॉप्लैक्स भी बना, लेकिन इसकी सारी दुकानें बिक पाती या किराए पर दी जातीं, इससे पहले ही मामला बिगड़ गया। लखनऊ के कैसरबाग इलाके से ही 1938 में जवाहरलाल नेहरू ने नेशनल हेराल्ड, नवजीवन और कौमी आवाज अखबार का पब्लिकेशन शुरू किया। 1999 तक अखबार निकलते रहे, लेकिन इसके बाद इन तीनों अखबारों का छपना बंद हो गया। यानी करीब 23 साल से अखबार नहीं छप रहा है। हमारी संवाददाता रुचि कुमार लखनऊ के हेराल्ड हाउस कॉम्प्लैक्स में गईं, जहां प्रशासन ने काम रुकवा दिया था। अब इस शॉपिंग कॉम्प्लेक्स की हालत खराब है। कॉम्प्लेक्स में 6 अन्य दुकानों के साथ एक बीयर की दुकान भी खोली गई है।
हमारी रिपोर्टर ने दुकान के मालिकों से बात की। दुकानदारों ने बताया कि उन्होंने 2007 में AJL से दुकानें खरीदी थीं और कंपनी के चेयरमैन मोतीलाल वोरा थे। उन्हीं के अथॉरिटी लेटर से दुकान की रजिस्ट्री हुई। कुछ दुकानदार ऐसे भी थे जिन्होंने किराए पर दुकानें ली थीं। उनका भी कहा है कि दुकान का किराया सीधे AJL के बैंक अकाउंट में जाता है। कांग्रेस के नेता प्रमोद तिवारी ने कहा, ‘आज कौन-सी कंपनी है जो अपनी बिल्डिंग से सिर्फ अखबार निकालती है? अखबार चलाना बहुत महंगा काम है। अगर आय के अतिरिक्त साधन न हों तो अखबार निकालना मुश्किल हो जाएगा।’
ये तीनों अखबार पिछले 23 साल से नहीं छप रहे, लेकिन अखबार को चलाने के लिए दुकानें बनाकर बेचने, उन्हें किराए पर देने को कैसे जस्टिफाई किया जा सकता है? अखबार तो 1999 में प्रिंट होना बंद हो गया, और दुकानें 2007 में बेची गईं। पैसा किसकी जेब में गया?
2005 में जब भूपेंद्र सिंह हुड्डा हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री थे तो उन्होंने पंचकूला के सेक्टर-6 में ‘द एसोसिएट जर्नल लिमिटेड’ को करीब 3,500 स्क्वेयर मीटर का प्लॉट दिया था। यह एक पॉश लोकेशन है, इसके सामने पुलिस हैडक्वार्टर है। यहां शानदार बिल्डिंग बनी है, लेकिन यहां एक भी अखबार नहीं छपता। हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल खट्टर ने कहा कि उनकी सरकार इस मामले की जांच करवाएगी।
अब हम सिलसिलेवार ढंग से समझने की कोशिश करते हैं कि AJL की संपत्ति सोनिया और राहुल गांधी के स्वामित्व वाली यंग इंडियन को कैसे दी गई। एसोसिएटेड जर्नल्स लिमिटेड यानी कि AJL को 1938 में जवाहरलाल नेहरू ने नेशनल हेरल्ड नाम का अखबार चलाने के लिए बनाया था। 1999 से लेकर 2008 के नेशनल हेरल्ड के सारे पब्लिकेशन भारी घाटे की वजह से बंद हो गए। कांग्रेस, जो कि तब केंद्र में सत्ता में थी, ने इसे चलाने की कोशिश शुरू की। पता चला कि कांग्रेस ने AJL को 90 करोड़ रुपया का लोन दिया हुआ था, और वह चुका नहीं सकी। इसके बाद AJL ने अपने सारे शेयर यंग इंडियन कंपनी को 50 लाख रुपये में बेच दिए। यंग इंडियन AJL से जुड़ी 3,000 करोड़ रुपये से ज्यादा की प्रॉपर्टी का मालिक बन गया।
जब कांग्रेस के नेताओं से सवाल पूछे गए तो उन्होंने बड़ा सीधा-सा जवाब दिया। AJL और यंग इंडियन के बीच जो डीलिंग हुई, जो भी ट्रांजैक्शन हुए, उनकी जानकारी सिर्फ मोतीलाल वोरा के पास थी। अब मोतीलाल वोरा दुनिया में रहे नहीं तो कौन किसको क्या बताए। कांग्रेस के तरफ से दूसरी बात यह कही गई कि यंग इंडियन तो सेक्शन 25 की नो प्रॉफिट कंपनी है, इससे सोनिया गांधी और राहुल गांधी को एक रुपये का भी फायदा नहीं हुआ।
इस पर सवाल उठा कि अगर कोई फायदा नहीं था तो सोनिया गांधी और राहुल गांधी ने कंपनी बनाई क्यों? अगर बनाई भी तो नेशनल हेरल्ड की मिल्कियत क्यों ली? अगर नेशनल हेरल्ड के पास अलग-अलग शहरो में 3,000 करोड़ रुपये की प्रॉपर्टी है तो इस ट्रांजैक्शन से किसका फायदा होगा? जानकार कहते हैं कि जिनके पास शेयर होंगे, प्रॉपर्टी का कंट्रोल भी उन्हीं के पास होगा। अगर कंट्रोल यंग इंडियन के पास है और इसके 76 फीसदी शेयर राहुल और सोनिया गांधी के पास हैं, तो फिर फायदा किसका होगा? ये सारी बातें जांच का विषय है।
व्यक्तिगत तौर पर मुझे लगता है कि आजादी की लड़ाई लड़ने वाले प्रमुख राजनीतिक दल होने के नाते, और देश पर 60 साल तक राज करने के नाते कांग्रेस को कंपनी खरीदने, उधार देने जैसे काम करने की कोई जरूरत नहीं थी। यह सब एक राजनीतिक पार्टी का काम नहीं है। अब न मोतीलाल वोरा रहे, और न ऑस्कर फर्नांडीज, इसीलिए सोनिया और राहुल गांधी पर इतने सारे सवाल खड़े हुए जिनका जवाब कांग्रेस को देना है।
Why is Congress worried about ED probe into National Herald issue?
The Congress and BJP had a massive face-off inside Parliament on Thursday over the National Herald issue. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi described the ED interrogation and searches as part of “intimidatory tactics” and added that the party “is not afraid of Narendra Modi”. Congress leaders alleged that the ED officials have sealed that part of Herald House in Delhi, from where the newspaper was being published, but ED sources said, only the Young Indian office has been locked since nobody from the company was present.
In Rajya Sabha, Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge asked, ‘how can the ED issue me summons when Parliament is in session?’ He alleged that the Centre is trying to stifle the voice of opposition. Commerce Minister and Leader of the House Piyush Goyal replied that the government does not interfere in the work of law enforcement authorities. Goyal added, “maybe during their (Congress) rule, that used to happen. Now if anyone does anything wrong, the agencies will do their duty. If any leader has been summoned, he must go. Law is equal for all.”
What Kharge did not reveal in Rajya Sabha was that he was not summoned by ED for interrogation. Since he was the CEO of Young Indian Ltd., the company that owns Associated Journals Ltd., he was asked by ED to come to Herald House so that a search could be carried out.
Secondly, Young Indian office was not sealed, but was locked by ED officials when they found nobody from the company present during the search that was to begin. From Parliament, Kharge went straight to Herald House, where the lock was opened and the searches went on for nearly seven hours, after which Kharge returned. ED officials showed him the documents that they seized during the search.
Outside Parliament, Rahul Gandhi told reporters: “This is an attempt at intimidation. They think that they will silence us by putting pressure. We will continue to fight against the anti-democratic acts of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. No matter what they do, we will not be intimidated and we are not scared of Narendra Modi. Let them do what they want to do. It won’t make any difference. My work is to protect the nation, its democratic ethos and maintain communal harmony. I will continue to do so.”
Rahul Gandhi has a pet dialogue – “I am not scared of Modi, Modi cannot intimidate me”- which he delivers on almost every occasion, whatever may be the issue. But I think, the manner in which Rahul Gandhi hurriedly cut short his Karnataka visit and returned to Delhi, tells a different story. Congress leaders appear to be worried and afraid in public.
I spoke to some bureaucrats, leaders and experts in Companies Act and financial issues. I sent reporters to different cities to check about the properties owned by Young Indian company, owned by Rahul and Sonia Gandhi.
I found answers to several questions. One major question is, the newspaper National Herald belonged to Congress, the company Associated Journals Ltd belonged to Congress, the party gave loan to its own company, but what was the necessity of floating another company to recover that loan?
Another question: Was National Herald in such dire financial straits that it had to take loan, at a time when it had several prime properties worth several thousand crores in different cities? Was the National Herald really not in a situation to repay Rs 90 crore loan that it had taken from Congress party?
I sent my reporters to Lucknow, Bhopal, Mumbai and Panchkula to check the status of the properties owned by National Herald. They found that the properties were worth several thousand crores of rupees.
Our reporter Anurag Amitabh found in Bhopal, how a shopping complex came up on a plot allotted to Associated Journals Ltd in 1981 in the name of National Herald. The more than an acre of prime plot was given by MP government to AJL at Rs 1 per sq ft on 30-year lease.
In 2011 when the lease was to expire, a commercial complex came up on the plot and shops were sold. The process to cancel the lease and reoccupy the property began, but National Herald and other shopkeepers went to court, where it is still under litigation.
Publication of National Herald, Navjivan and Qaumi Awaz newspapers had stopped way back in 1992. For 30 years, no newspaper was published, but AJL company continued to occupy the property which was meant for publishing newspapers.
MP minister Kailash Sarang alleged that the Congress misguided both the state government and the people. State Urban Development Minister Bhupendra Singh said, Congress violated the conditions of lease agreement and action will be taken. The role of officials involved will also be investigated, he said.
Congress MP Vivek Tankha said, there is hardly any media house which does not rent out its property built on land leased by government. “There is nothing wrong in it. National Herald is being targeted because the government wants to unnecessarily harass Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, nothing else”, he added.
It is true that state governments lease out land to media houses, which, in turn, rent out portions of their properties. There is nothing wrong in this, because publishing newspapers for profit is not easy. The media houses cover up their losses through commercial rent. But the primary condition of any such lease agreement is that the newspaper must be published and it should reach the people. In Bhopal, all the three newspapers of National Herald group ceased publication in 1992. Then the question arises: for whose benefit was the property converted into a shopping complex and sold? Where did the money that was realized go?
In Mumbai, land was allotted to National Herald at a prime location, Bandra East, near Western Expressway, in 1983 by the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Abdul Rahman Antulay. This land today is worth more than Rs 300 crore. AJL built a building on this plot, and the entire property is now worth more than Rs 500 crore. Two floors have been rented out, while the company is looking for tenants for other floors.
Land in Bandra East was allotted in the name of National Herald newspaper, but there is no sign of the daily. On the other hand, the company is getting nearly Rs 15 lakhs per month rent. This has been calculated at the rate of Rs 5,000 per sq feet, and each floor has a carpet area of 6,500 sq. feet. AJL company hired a multinational JLL Real Estate company to find out new tenants. A billboard “To Let” was posted in front of the building, but when India TV camera team reached the spot, some persons came and removed the billboard.
What will you say about a company which has a prime property in Mumbai worth Rs 500 crore, but in order to repay Rs 90 crore, all the properties of that company were handed over to another company, in which Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi own 76 per cent shares?
In Lucknow, there is the Herald House, where a big shopping complex was built, but before the shops could be sold or rented, a controversy arose. In 1938, Jawaharlal Nehru started publication of three newspapers National Herald, Navjivan and Qaumi Awaaz from Kaiserbagh locality of Lucknow. All the three newspapers ceased publications in 1999.
For the last 23 years, these newspapers have not been published. India TV reporter Ruchi Kumar visited Herald House complex, where the local administration has stopped all work. The shopping complex is now in a dilapidated state. A beer shop has been opened in the complex along with six other shops.
Our reporter spoke to shop owners. They said, they bought the shops, way back in 2007 from AJL, when Congress treasurer Motilal Vora was the chairman of the company. The shops were registered on basis of his authority letter. A few shopkeepers, who had taken shops on rent, said, they deposit their rents directly to AJL bank account. Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said, “tell me which media house is not renting out its building commercially? Publishing newspapers is expensive business, unless there are extra sources of income.”
The three newspapers ceased publication 23 years ago, but is it justified to sell shops in a complex built for publishing newspapers? The newspapers stopped publication in 1999, and the shops were sold in 2007. Who pocketed the money?
In Haryana, when Bhupinder Singh Hooda was chief minister, 3,500 sq. metre plot was leased to Associated Journals Ltd in Sector 6, Panchkula, in 2005. It is a posh location, opposite Police HQ. Not a single newspaper is being published from this building. Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said that the government will now carry out a probe.
Let me explain how AJL properties passed on to Young Indian, owned by Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. The National Herald, launched by Jawaharlal Nehru in 1938, was run by Associated Journals Ltd. From 1999 to 2008, the publications of newspapers ceased due to heavy losses. The Congress party, which was then in power at the Centre, decided to revive it. It was then found that the Congress party had given Rs 90 crore loan to AJL, which the latter could not repay. The company then sold all its shares to Young Indian company in lieu of Rs 50 lakhs. Young Indian became the owner of more than Rs 3000 crore worth properties belonging to AJL.
When questions were asked, Congress leaders gave a simple reply. It was a transaction between AJL and Young Indian, and only Motilal Vora knew about the details. Since Motilal Vora is no more, the details of this transaction are now shrouded in mystery. Congress leaders also put forth an argument that since Young India under Section 25 of Companies Act is a not-for-profit company, both Sonia and Rahul Gandhi did not benefit a rupee from it.
The question then arose: Why did Sonia and Rahul Gandhi float a company if it was not for profit? If it was a not-for-profit company, how is it now the owner of more than Rs 3,000 crore worth properties in different cities? Why benefited from this transaction? Experts say, only those who own the shares, will have control over these properties. If the control is with Young Indian company, and since Sonia and Rahul Gandhi own 76 per cent of its shares, who will benefit? This matter needs to be investigated.
Personally, I feel that the Congress, being the main political party that led the freedom struggle, and ruled India for 60 years, should not have taken part in transactions, like purchasing a company, and giving loan. This should not be the work of a political party. Now that Motilal Vora and Oscar Fernandes are no more, many questions have arisen about Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, and the Congress will have to reply to those questions.
यूपी, असम के सीमावर्ती जिलों में तेजी से क्यों बढ़ रही मुसलमानों की आबादी?
आज मैं नेपाल की सीमा से लगे उत्तर प्रदेश के सात जिलों और बांग्लादेश की सीमा से लगे असम के चार जिलों में दिख रही कुछ चिंताजनक प्रवृत्तियों के बारे में बताऊंगा। यूपी और असम पुलिस द्वारा केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय को 2 दिन पहले भेजी गई इस संवेदनशील रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक कई चौंकाने वाली चीजें सामने आई हैं। इन सीमावर्ती जिलों में हुआ डेमोग्राफिक चेंज परेशान करने वाला है।
यूपी पुलिस के मुताबिक, 7 सीमावर्ती जिलों, पीलीभीत, लखीमपुर खीरी, श्रावस्ती, सिद्धार्थ नगर, महाराजगंज, बलरामपुर और बहराइच में पिछले 10 सालों के दौरान मुस्लिम आबादी में 32 फीसदी का इजाफा हुआ है। इन जिलों में मस्जिदों और मदरसों की संख्या भी तेजी से बढ़ी है। ग्राउंड रिपोर्ट में इन जिलों के एक हजार से भी ज्यादा गांवों के आंकड़े जुटाए गए हैं। इन 7 जिलों के 116 गांवों में मुस्लिम आबादी 50 फीसदी से ज्यादा बढ़ी है, जबकि सीमावर्ती इलाकों के करीब 303 गांव ऐसे हैं जहां पिछले 10 सालों में मुस्लिम आबादी में 30 फीसदी से ज्यादा का इजाफा हुआ है। इन जिलों में मस्जिदों की संख्या में भी करीब 25 फीसदी बढ़ी है।
बांग्लादेश से लगते असम के धुबरी, करीमगंज, दक्षिण सलमारा और कछार जिलों में मुसलमानों की आबादी में 30 फीसदी से ज्यादा का इजाफा हो गया है। यह बात भी सामने आई है कि सिर्फ यूपी और असम ही नहीं, पाकिस्तान की सीमा से लगे राजस्थान और चीन की सीमा से लगे उत्तरखंड के कई जिलों में भी मस्जिदों और मदरसों की संख्या तेजी से बढ़ी है।
मुसलमानों की अचानक बढ़ी आबादी के बारे में जानकारी सामने आने के बाद बॉर्डर पर तैनात सुरक्षा एजेंसियों ने अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय साजिश की तरफ इशारा करते हुए सरकार को आगाह किया है। उत्तर प्रदेश और असम की पुलिस ने आंशका जताई है कि सरहद से लगते इलाकों में गैरकानूनी रुप से आए हुए घुसपैठिए डेरा जमा रहे हैं। दोनों राज्यों की पुलिस की रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि बॉर्डर के साथ लगते जिलों में मुस्लिम आबादी 2011 के मुकाबले 32 परसेंट तक बढ़ गई है, जबकि पूरे देश में यह बदलाव 10 से 15 परसेंट के बीच है। सीमावर्ती जिलों में मुसलमानों की आबादी का अचानक बढ़ना बहुत ही गंभीर मसला है।
यूपी पुलिस ने अपनी रिपोर्ट में आशंका जाहिर की है कि नेपाल की सीमा से लगे इन 7 सीमावर्ती जिलों में बाहर से मुसलमानों को लाकर बसाया गया है। रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि इन 7 जिलों के 1047 गांव नेपाल बॉर्डर से लगते हैं, जिनमें से 116 गांवों में 10 सालों के दौरान मुसलमानों की आबादी में 50 फीसदी तक का इजाफा हो गया है। इनमें से 303 गांव ऐसे हैं जिनमें मुसलमानों की आबादी 30 से 50 फीसदी तक बढ़ी है। रिपोर्ट कहती है कि इन इलाकों में पिछले 4 साल में मस्जिदों और मदरसों की संख्या में भी 25 फीसदी तक का उछाल देखा गया है। रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, 2018 में नेपाल से सटे सीमावर्ती जिलों में कुल 1349 मस्जिदें और मदरसे थे और अब इनकी संख्या बढ़कर 1688 हो गई है।
यूपी पुलिस के सामने दिक्कत यह है कि एक-एक व्यक्ति के दस्तावेजों की जांच कैसे करे, और अगर जांच करे भी तो यह कैसे पता लगाए कि पंचायत के रिकॉर्ड में जो नए नाम दर्ज हुए हैं वे वैध हैं या अवैध। पुलिस आखिर कैसे बता लगाए कि जो दस्तावेज दिखाए जा रहे हैं वे असली हैं या नकली। सुरक्षा एजेंसियाों को पूरा शक है कि इन सीमावर्ती जिलों में बाहर से आए हुए लोगों को बसाया जा रहा है और उनके फर्जी दस्तावेज तैयार भी तैयार हो गए हैं।
सीमावर्ती जिलों में जाने वाले हिंदू साधुओं और महंतों का भी कहना है कि जब वे नेपाल से सटी सीमा वाले इलाकों में जाते हैं तो साफ दिखता है कि मुसलमानों की आबादी तेजी से बढ़ी है। थोड़ी-थोड़ी दूर पर मस्जिद और मदरसे दिखाई देते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार को पता लगाना चाहिए कि अचानक सीमावर्ती जिलों में मुस्लिम आबादी कैसे बढ़ गई। ये जांच करनी चाहिए कहीं ये रोहिंग्या मुसलमान और बांग्लादेशी घुसपैठिए तो नहीं हैं।
राज्यों के पुलिस प्रमुखों की मीटिंग में असम पुलिस की तरफ से जो रिपोर्ट पेश की गई उसमें कहा गया है कि बांग्लादेश बॉर्डर से 10 किलोमीटर के रेडियस में स्थित जिलों की मुस्लिम आबादी में करीब 30 फीसदी का उछाल देखा गया है, जबकि इसी दौरान जनसंख्या बढ़ने का राष्ट्रीय औसत 12.5 फीसदी और राज्य का औसत 13.5 फीसदी रहा।
दूसरे शब्दों में कहें तो असम के जिन जिलों की सरहद बांग्लादेश से लगती है, वहां मुस्लिम आबादी बढ़ने की रफ्तार राष्ट्रीय औसत से करीब ढाई गुना ज्यादा रही। असम के जिन 4 जिलों में मुस्लिमों की आबादी तेजी से बढ़ी, वे हैं धुबरी, करीमगंज, कछार और साउथ सालमारा। 2011 में यहां मुस्लिम आबादी 3,95,659 थी जो 2021 में बढ़कर 5,13,126 हो गई। असम पुलिस के अधिकारियों का मानना है कि राज्य में बांग्लादेश से मुसलमानों की घुसपैठ जारी है।
असम पुलिस की रिपोर्ट में एक अजीबोगरीब बात का जिक्र किया गया है। बॉर्डर के पास एक गांव तो ऐसा भी है जहां सिर्फ 5 परिवार रहते हैं, लेकिन अचानक वहां 4 मस्जिदें बन गईं। जब गांववालों से पूछा गया कि ये मस्जिदें किसने बनवाईं, पैसा कहां से आया, तो इसका कोई जबाव नहीं मिला। पिछले एक महीने में करीब डेढ़ दर्जन बांग्लादेशी घुसपैठियों को पकड़ा गया है। दावा किया गया है कि इस इलाके में विदेशियों के फर्जी दस्तावेज बनवाने का काम भी जोरों से चल रहा है।
यूपी और असम के अलावा राजस्थान में भी बॉर्डर से सटे इलाकों में मुसलमानों की आबादी बढ़ी है। अचानक नए मदरसे और मस्जिदें दिखने लगीं। इस बदलाव को BSF ने भी नोटिस किया और इसकी रिपोर्ट गृह मंत्रालय को भेजी। BSF ने जब जमीनी हकीकीत का विश्लेषण किया तो यह बात सामने आई कि दूसरे धर्मों के लोगों की आबादी केवल 8-10 फीसदी का फर्क आया, लेकिन मुसलमानों की आबादी में 25 फीसदी तक बढ़ गई। BSF ने अपनी रिपोर्ट में यहां तक कहा कि मदरसों की संख्या बढ़ गई है, और मदरसों में जाने वाले बच्चों की संख्या में भी इजाफा हुआ है।
बीएसएफ की रिपोर्ट में कहा गया कि इसके अलावा पोखरण, मोहनगढ़ और जैसलमेर जैसे सीमा वाले इलाकों में ऐसे मौलवी और मौलाना भी दिख रहे हैं जो बाहरी हैं। इन इलाकों के ज्यादातर मदरसों में पढ़ाने वाले मौलवी भी स्थानीय नहीं हैं। चितौड़गढ़ से बीजेपी सांसद सीपी जोशी ने कहा कि राजस्थान में कांग्रेस की सरकार तुष्टिकरण की नीति अपना रही है इसलिए बाहर से आए मुसलमानों की चेकिंग नहीं की जा रही है।
यूपी, असम और राजस्थान तो बड़े और पुराने राज्य हैं, लेकिन करीब 22 साल पहले बने उत्तराखंड में भी नेपाल से लगे इलाकों में मुस्लिम आबादी बढ़ने की रफ्तार हैरान करने वाली है। उत्तराखंड में पिछले 10 सालों में मुसलमानों की संख्या में 2.5 गुना की बढ़ोतरी हो गई। कुछ ही दिन पहले खबर आई थी कि उत्तराखंड के जंगलों में बड़े पैमाने पर मजार बना दी गई हैं और रोहिंग्या मुसलमानों ने अपनी बस्तियां बसा ली हैं। इस खबर के सामने आने के बाद राज्य सरकार की तरफ से जंगल की जमीन से मजार और रोहिंग्या मुसलमानों को हटाने के आदेश दिए गए हैं।
उत्तर प्रदेश में नेपाल की सीमा से लगे जिलों में और असम में बांग्लादेश से सटे इलाकों में मुसलमानों की बढ़ती आबादी को लेकर पहली बार नवंबर 2021 में DGP कॉन्फ्रेस के दौरान प्रधानमंत्री मोदी की मौजूदगी में चिंता जाहिर की गई थी। इस कॉन्फ्रेस की अध्यक्षता प्रधानमंत्री मोदी कर रहे थे और उनके सामने यूपी पुलिस ने एक विस्तृत रिपोर्ट पेश की थी। इसी रिपोर्ट को 2 दिन पहले अपडेट किया गया है। यूपी पुलिस ने अपनी प्रेजेंटेशन में इस बात को भी हाईलाइट किया था कि पहले बॉर्डर के पास वाले गांवों में हिंदू, मुस्लिम और सिखों की मिली जुली आबादी हुआ करती थी, लेकिन अब इन जिलों में मुस्लिम आबादी काफी तेजी से बढ़ रही है।
अगर पड़ोसी मुल्कों से, पाकिस्तान और बांग्लादेश से बड़ी संख्या में लोगों को हमारे बॉर्डर के इलाकों में भेजा जा रहा है तो यह चिंता की बात है। अगर पाकिस्तान और चीन की साजिश के तहत भारत की सरहद से सटे इलाकों में मुसलमानों को बसाया जा रहा है तो यह एक गंभीर मसला है। यूपी और असम पुलिस की इस रिपोर्ट पर, BSF की जानकारी पर तुरंत कार्रवाई होनी चाहिए और इस साजिश का जड़ से खात्मा कर देना चाहिए।
Is there a foreign hand behind sharp rise of Muslims in UP, Assam border districts?
Today I want to point out to a disturbing trend in seven districts of Uttar Pradesh bordering Nepal and four districts of Assam bordering Bangladesh. According to sensitive reports sent by UP and Assam Police to the Union Home Ministry, updated two days ago, the findings are surprising. The demographic change in these border districts is worrisome.
According to UP police, in seven border districts, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Shravasti, Siddharth Nagar, Maharajganj, Balrampur and Bahraich, Muslim population rose by 32 per cent during the last ten years. The number of mosques and madrasas in these districts has also increased. Statistics from more than 1,000 villages in these districts have been collated in the ground report. In 116 villages of these seven districts, Muslim population rose by more than 50 per cent, while there are 303 villages close to the border, where Muslim population rose by more than 30 per cent in the last 10 years. The number of mosques in these districts has increased by nearly 25 per cent.
In Assam, the four districts of Dhubri, Karimganj, South Salmara and Cachar adjoining Bangladesh have noted a 30 per cent rise in Muslim population during the last 10 years. In several border districts of Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, close to Pakistan and China respectively, the numbers of mosques and madrasas have been seen a sharp rise.
Security agencies deployed on international border point out to foreign hands behind this sudden rise in Muslim population and have alerted the Centre. Both UP and Assam police have said that it could be due to a rise in infiltration in these border districts. At a time when the average rise in population throughout India has been between 10 to 15 per cent, the 32 per cent rise in Muslim population in these border districts is worrying.
UP police, in its report, has expressed apprehensions that Muslims from outside have been brought to these seven border districts to settle down. The report says, there are 1,047 villages close to Nepal border, out of which in 116 villages, Muslim population rose by up to 50 per cent in the last 10 years. There are 303 villages where Muslim population rose by 30 to 50 pc. The report says, in the last four years, there has been 25 per cent rise in the number of mosques and madrasas in these districts. The number of mosques and madrasas was earlier 1,349, but it is now 1,688.
UP police is facing a peculiar problem in checking each individual’s identity papers, and tallying them with the original panchayat records. The problem relates to checking the veracity of identity documents. Police officials suspect that many of the Muslims were brought from outside to settle in these border districts.
Hindu sadhus and mahants who visit these border districts have confirmed that there has been a sharp rise in the number of Muslims settled in the districts bordering Nepal. There are mosques and madrasas in almost every border village. They have appealed to the Centre to check whether these Muslims are Rohingyas or Bangladeshi infiltrators.
According to a paper submitted by Assam Police at the annual meeting of state police chiefs, there has been a 30 per cent jump in Muslim population in districts within a 10 km radius of Assam-Bangladesh border, whereas the national average increase in population is 12.5 pc, and that of the state is 13.5 pc.
In other words, Muslim population in Assam districts bordering Bangladesh has increased by more than two and a half times the national average. Four districts are mainly affected. They are: Dhubri, Karimganj, Cachar and South Salmara. In 2011, the Muslim population in these districts was 3,95,659 and this jumped to 5,13,126 in 2021. Assam Police officials believe that infiltration of Muslims from Bangladesh into Assam continues.
A strange factor was mentioned in the report by Assam Police. In one village, there were only five Muslim families, but there were four mosques in that village. When the villagers were asked about this, they had no logical answer as to who paid for building these mosques. In the last one month, 18 Bangladeshi infiltrators were apprehended. There are reports of gangs procuring false documents for these infiltrators.
Rajasthan is another state where similar change in demography has been noticed. The Border Security Force in a report to the Home Ministry, has said that while the population of people belonging to other religions rose by 8 to 10 percent, Muslim population in border districts increased up to 25 per cent in border villages. Similarly, the number of madrasas has also increased.
The BSF report said, in the border areas like Pokharan, Mohangarh and Jaisalmer, Islamic clerics, who clearly seem to be outsiders, have been found teaching Muslim children in madrasas. The state BJP youth wing chief and MP from Chittorgarh, Chandra Prakash Joshi alleged that the Congress government in Rajasthan was following an appeasement policy towards minorities.
In Uttarakhand, a state created 22 years ago, there has been a quick rise in Muslim population in districts adjoining Nepal. The rise has been almost two and a half times compared to the number ten years back. Recently there were reports of Rohingya Muslims settling in some areas and setting up ‘mazaars’ (graves) in the forests of Uttarakhand. The state government has directed that these graves must be removed from forest land and Rohingya Muslims must be deported.
Concerns were raised both by Assam and UP police in their reports during the conference of directors-general of police in November last year, which was presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. UP Police had given a detailed report about demographic change in border districts. This report was updated two days ago. In the report, the state police highlighted how in the past, there used to be mixed population of Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs in border villages, but now, the Muslim population has increased sharply.
If reports of influx of Muslims from Bangladesh and Pakistan are true, it is a matter of serious concern. Pakistan and China are conspiring to create disturbance in our border districts by settling Muslims in the villages. The Centre, in coordination with BSF and the state police, must immediately act and nip the conspiracy in the bud.

हमले को रविवार की सुबह अंजाम दिया गया और सोमवार को अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति जो बायडेन ने टीवी पर ऐलान किया, ‘इंसाफ हो चुका है।’ अज जवाहिरी को निशाना बनाकर जो हेलफायर R9X मिसाइलें दागी गई थीं उनसे कोई ब्लास्ट नहीं हुआ और न ही किसी और को नुकसान पहुंचा। वारहेड रहित यह मिसाइल 6 रेजर जैसे ब्लेड्स से लैस होती है।
रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक, अल-जवाहिरी को हक्कानी आतंकी नेटवर्क के संस्थापक जलालुद्दीन हक्कानी के बेटे सिराजुद्दीन हक्कानी द्वारा काबुल में एक ‘सेफ हाउस’ या खुफिया ठिकाने पर रखा गया था। सिराजुद्दीन हक्कानी अब तालिबान सरकार में गृह मंत्री हैं। अफगानिस्तान के इस्लामिक अमीरात की ओर से जारी एक बयान में, तालिबान शासन ने हमले की निंदा की और कहा कि वह इसे ‘अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सिद्धांतों और दोहा समझौते का स्पष्ट उल्लंघन’ मानता है।
अमेरिकी विदेश विभाग ने अपने जवाब में कहा कि तालिबान ने अफगानिस्तान की धरती पर आतंकी संगठनों को पनाह देकर दोहा समझौते का घोर उल्लंघन किया है। वहीं, चीनी विदेश मंत्रालय के प्रवक्ता ने कहा, भले ही हम आतंकवाद के सभी स्वरूपों के खिलाफ है, लेकिन साथ ही आतंकवाद रोधी अभियान के ‘दोहरे मानक’ और दूसरे देशों की ‘संप्रभुता की कीमत’ पर इसे अंजाम देने के भी खिलाफ हैं।
ऐमान अल-जवाहिरी एक जमाने में अल कायदा सरगना ओसामा बिन लादेन का बेहद करीबी हुआ करता था। वह 2001 में अमेरिका में 11 सितंबर को हुए आतंकी हमलों का मास्टरमाइंड था। इजिप्ट में पैदा हुआ अल-जवाहिरी एक ट्रेन्ड सर्जन था और उसने अमेरिका में कई आतंकी घटनाओं की साजिश रची थी। उसका 2000 में यमन में अमेरिकी विध्वंसक पोत USS कोल पर हुए हमले और 1998 के केन्या और तंजानिया में स्थित अमेरिकी दूतावासों पर हुए बम विस्फोट में भी बड़ा हाथ था। अमेरिका ने उसके सिर पर $25 मिलियन (लगभग 200 करोड़ रुपये) का इनाम रखा था, लेकिन वह हमेशा अपने विरोधियों को चकमा देने में कामयाब हो जाता था।
जब ओसामा बिन लादेन को 2011 में पाकिस्तान के एबटाबाद में अमेरिकी नेवी सील टीम ने मार गिराया तो अल-जवाहिरी ने अल कायदा की बागडोर संभाली और 28 मिनट के वीडियो में ऐलान किया, ‘खून के बदले खून’ और ‘हम अमेरिका को खौफजदा करना जारी रखेंगे।’ लेकिन तब तक अल कायदा एक आतंकवादी संगठन के रूप में कमजोर हो चुका था और इस्लामिक स्टेट (IS) ने इराक, सीरिया और अफगानिस्तान पर कब्जा कर लिया था। अल-जवाहिरी इस साल जनवरी से तालिबान की निगहबानी में काबुल के बेहद पॉश कहे जाने वाले शेरपुर इलाके में छिपा हुआ था।
अमेरिकी की खुफिया एजेंसी CIA को उसके ठिकाने के बारे में सुराग मिला और उसने उसकी गतिविधियों पर नजर रखनी शुरू कर दी। फरवरी महीने से काबुल में जवाहिरी के ठिकाने पर सैटेलाइट से नजर रखी जाने लगी। CIA को इस साल मार्च में पुख्ता खबर मिल गई कि जवाहिरी काबुल में ही रह रहा है। इसके बाद ही उसे टारगेट करके उसका खात्मा करने की तैयारी की जाने लगी। CIA की ऑपरेशंस टीम ने उस घर का मॉडल तैयार किया जिसमें जवाहिरी रह रहा था। यह मॉडल व्हाइट हाउस के सिचुएशन रूम ले जाया गया जहां प्रेसिडेंट बायडेन को पूरे प्लान के बारे में बताया गया। मगर दिक्कत यह थी कि जवाहिरी काफी घने बसे इलाके में रह रहा था और मिसाइल हमले या बम हमले से आम लोगों के मारे जाने का डर था। इस वजह से मई महीने में जवाहिरी को मारने के प्लान को मुल्तवी कर दिया गया। इसके बाद अमेरिकी अधिकारियों ने रीपर ड्रोन से अमेरिका की मशहूर हेलफायर मिसाइल दाग कर जवाहिरी के खात्मे का प्लान बनाया। 25 जुलाई को प्रेसिडेंट बायडेन ने इस प्लान को हरी झंडी दे दी, और 1 अगस्त को जब दुनिया के मोस्ट वॉन्टेड टेररिस्ट का खात्मा हो गया तो इसका एलान करने खुद बायडेन सामने आए।
बायडेन ने कहा, ‘मेरे निर्देश पर अमेरिका ने अफगानिस्तान के काबुल में सफलतापूर्वक एक हवाई हमला किया, जिसमें अल कायदा का अमीर, ऐमान अल-जवाहिरी मारा गया। आप जानते हैं कि अल-जवाहिरी ओसामा बिन लादेन का नेता था। वह हमेशा उसके साथ रहा था। वह लादेन का नंबर 2 था, 9/11 के आतंकी हमले के समय उसका डिप्टी था। 9/11 हमलों की साजिश रचने में उसकी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका थी। अमेरिकी सरजमीं पर हुए सबसे घातक इस हमले में 2,977 लोग मारे गए थे।’
अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति ने कहा, ‘अब इंसाफ हो गया है और यह आतंकी सरगना मारा गया है। दुनिया को अब इस दरिंदे हत्यारे से डरने की जरूरत नहीं है। अमेरिका उन लोगों से अमेरिकियों की रक्षा करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध रहेगा, जो हमें नुकसान पहुंचाना चाहते हैं। हम आज रात एक बार फिर यह साफ कर देना चाहते हैं कि भले ही कितना भी समय लग जाए, भले ही तुम कहीं भी छिपे हो, अगर तुम हमारे लोगों के लिए खतरा हो तो अमेरिका तुम्हें ढूंढ़ निकालेगा और तुम्हारा खात्मा करेगा।’
तालिबान सरकार के गृह मंत्री सिराजुद्दीन हक्कानी ने कहा, ‘हम कल हमले वाले इलाके में गए थे और प्रभावित लोगों को कुछ मदद मुहैया कराई थी। हमारी पहली कोशिश हमले में घायल लोगों को बाहर निकालने और बचे हुए लोगों को तलाश करने की थी। इस हमले में आस-पास के ज्यादातर घर बर्बाद हो गए थे।’
अल जवाहिरी सिर्फ अमेरिका और इजराइल का दुश्मन नहीं था, वह भारत के खिलाफ भी जहर उगलता रहता था। कश्मीर का मसला हो, आर्टिकल 370 हटाने की बात हो, हिजाब का विवाद हो या फिर खाड़ी देशों के साथ मोदी सरकार की नजदीकी हो, हर मुद्दे पर जवाहिरी भारत के खिलाफ बयान देता था, जिहाद छेड़ने की बातें करता था। उसने भारत के बारे में सबसे ताजा टेप कर्नाटक के हिजाब विवाद पर जारी किया था। टेप में उसने कर्नाटक की छात्रा मुस्कान खान की तारीफ की थी और भारत के मुसलमानों से हथियार उठाने को कहा था। अल जवाहिरी का मारा जाना भारत के लिए अच्छी खबर है, हालांकि पूर्व विदेश राज्य मंत्री और कांग्रेस सांसद शशि थरूर इस मसले पर थोड़ी अलग राय रखते हैं।
थरूर ने कहा, ‘बदकिस्मती से जवाहिरी के मारे जाने से आतंकवाद का खात्मा नहीं होगा। आतंकवाद एक विचारधारा है, जो लोगों को प्रभावित करती है। हमने पहले भी देखा है कि एक आतंकी सरगना मारा जाता है तो उसकी जगह कोई और बागडोर थाम लेता है, फिर चाहे वह अल कायदा हो, इस्लामिक स्टेट दाएश हो या तालिबान। किसी एक आतंकवादी को मारकर हमें भले ही यह तसल्ली हो जाए कि आतंकी संगठन के सरगना का सफाया हो गया, लेकिन आतंकवाद की चुनौती बनी रहती है और दुनिया को सतर्क रहना पड़ता है। हमारी समस्या यह है कि हमारी सरहद ज्यादा करीब है। कुछ लोग सरहद के पार बैठे हैं और कुछ पहले ही घुसपैठ कर चुके हैं। हमें अल कायदा और इस्लामिक स्टेट के बजाय ऐसे संगठनों से सावधान रहने की जरूरत है।’
अल-जवाहिरी के मारे जाने से दुनिया ने राहत की सांस ली है, लेकिन इस पर सवाल भी खड़े हो रहे हैं। लोग पूछ रहे हैं कि अल कायदा के नेता को मारने का क्या फायदा जो खुद छिपता फिर रहा है। अमेरिका के ऐनालिस्ट यह दावा कर रहे हैं कि जो बायडेन ने अगले चुनाव में अपनी रेटिंग सुधारने के लिए जवाहिरी को मारने का ग्रीन सिग्नल दिया। अमेरिका में नवंबर में मध्यावधि चुनाव हैं। जो बायडेन की रेटिंग 20 पर्सेंट से भी नीचे चली गई है, क्योंकि महंगाई और दूसरे मुद्दों के चलते अमेरिकी जनता नाराज है। अमेरिकी अर्थव्वस्था के मंदी का शिकार होने की चेतावनी दी जा रही है। खुद बायडेन की डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी के समर्थक चाहते हैं कि 2024 में होने वाले चुनाव में उनकी जगह किसी और को राष्ट्रपति पद का उम्मीदवार बनाया जाए।
अल जवाहिरी के मारे जाने से सबसे दिलचस्प सियासत पाकिस्तान में हो रही है। अमेरिकी एक्सपर्ट यह मानते हैं कि अल जवाहिरी को मारने में पाकिस्तानी सेना ने अमेरिका की मदद की, उसे गुप्त सूचना मुहैया कराई और अमेरिकी रीपर ड्रोन को टेकऑफ करने के लिए एयरपोर्ट भी दिया। कहा जा रहा है कि पाकिस्तान ने यह सब इसलिए किया क्योंकि उसे IMF से आर्थिक मदद चाहिए। पाकिस्तान के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री इमरान खान तो खुलकर ये इल्जाम लगा रहे हैं कि आर्मी चीफ जनरल कमर जावेद बाजवा ने पिछले हफ्ते अमेरिका को फोन करके जवाहिरी का ठिकाना बताया था। इसके बदले में उन्होंने पाकिस्तान के लिए अमेरिका से पैसा मांगा था क्योंकि मुल्क दिवालिया होने के कगार पर खड़ा है।
जवाहिरी की मौत के बाद इमरान खान सिर्फ जनरल बाजवा पर अटैक नहीं कर रहे बल्कि वह अपने मुल्क की पूरी लीडरशिप पर सवाल उठा रहे हैं। एक रैली में इमरान खान ने कहा कि जिस तरह आज पाकिस्तान आर्मी ने पैसे के बदले में जवाहिरी का खुफिया ठिकाना अमेरिका को बता दिया, उसी तरह 1995 में एक और आतंकवादी रमजी अहमद यूसुफ को डॉलर के बदले अमेरिका को सौंप दिया था। रमजी अहमद यूसुफ 1993 में वर्ल्ड ट्रेड सेंटर पर हुए हमले और फिलीपींस एयरलाइंस के विमान में हुई बमबारी के मास्टरमाइंड्स में से एक था। ISI ने 1995 में उसे गिरफ्तार कर लिया और फिर उसे अमेरिका भेज दिया गया जहां एक अदालत ने उसे दो आजीवन कारावास और 240 साल जेल की सजा सुनाई।
Did Pakistan help the US in killing Ayman al-Zawahiri?
In an early morning drone strike in Kabul, the United States killed Al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri by firing two Hellfire missiles at the balcony of a Taliban-controlled safe house. This was the first US drone strike since its withdrawal from Afghanistan in August last year.
The strike took place on Sunday morning, and on Monday, in a televised address, US President Joe Biden said, “justice has been delivered”. The Hellfire R9X missiles that were fired did not cause any explosion and did not harm anybody else. This warhead-less missile is equipped with six razor-like blades.
According to reports, al-Zawahiri was brought to a safe house in Kabul by Sirajuddin Haqqani, son of the founder of Haqqani terror network, Jalaluddin Haqqani. Sirajuddin Haqqani is now the Interior Minister in Taliban government. In a statement on behalf of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the Taliban regime condemned the attack and said it considers it to be “a clear violation of international principles and the Doha Agreement”.
The US State Department replied by saying, it was Taliban which is violating the Doha agreement by allowing terrorist groups to operate within Afghanistan. Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said, while it is against all forms of terrorism, at the same time it is opposed to “double standards” by carrying out counter-terrorism operations at the “expense of sovereignty” of other nations.
Ayman al-Zawahiri, once a close confidante of slain Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, was the mastermind of September 11 terror attacks in the US in 2001.Born in Eqypt, al-Zawahiri was a trained surgeon and he masterminded simultaneous attacks on US embassies in Tanzania and Kenya in 1998 and the suicide bombing of the American destroyer USS Cole in Yemen in 2000. The US had placed a $25 million (nearly Rs 200 crore) bounty on his head, but he always managed to dodge his adversaries.
After Osama bin Laden was killed by US Navy SEAL team in Pakistan’s Abbottabad in 2011, al-Zawahiri took over the reins of Al Qaeda and said in a 28-minute video, “Blood for blood” and “we will continue to terrify America”. But by then, the Al Qaeda as a terrorist organization had waned and the Islamic State (IS) outfit took over in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan. Al-Zawahiri was hiding in a posh locality called Sherpur in Kabul under protection of Taliban regime since January this year.
The US spy agency CIA got clues about his location and started keeping a watch on his movements. From February, satellite watch was kept on him, and in March, it was confirmed that the man hiding in the building was al-Zawahiri. The CIA prepared model of his house and planned a targeted attack. This model was brought to the Situation Room in White House and President Biden was briefed about the entire plan. The only risk was that the building was in a dense locality and any attack could cause collateral damages. In May this year, the plan was postponed, and then a fresh plan using Hellfire missiles from a US Reaper drone was prepared. President Biden gave the green signal on July 25, and on August 1, when the most wanted global terrorist was killed, Biden announced it to the world.
Biden said: “One Saturday, at my direction, the United States successfully concluded an airstrike in Kabul, Afghanistan, that killed the emir of Al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri. You know, al-Zawahiri was bin Laden’s leader. He was with him the whole time. He was his number two man, his deputy at the time of the terrorist attack of 9/11. He was deeply involved in the planning of 9/11, one the most responsible for the attacks that murdered 2,977 people on American soil.”
The US President said, “Now justice has been delivered, and this terrorist leader is no more. People around the world no longer need to fear the vicious and determined killer. The United States continues to demonstrate our resolve and our capacity to defend the American people against those who seek to do us harm. You know, we make it clear again tonight that no matter how long it takes, no matter where you hide, if you are a threat to our people, the United States will find you and take you out.”
The Taliban government’s Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani said, “We had gone to the locality where the attack took place yesterday and provided help to those affected. Our first effort was to bring out those who were injured and search for any survivors. There were many buildings in the neighbourhood which were damaged.”
Ayman al-Zawahari was not only an enemy of the US and Israel, but also India. He used to spew venom against India, whether on Kashmir, Article 370, Hijab issue, or on Modi’s close affinity with Gulf countries. He used to give call to youths to launch jihad against India. In an audio tape recently, he had praised the Muslim girl Muskan Khan of Karnataka when the hijab controversy was at its peak. He gave a call to Indian Muslims to take up arms. Al-Zawahiri’s killing is a good news for India, but former Minister of State for External Affairs and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor had a different take.
Tharoor said, “Unfortunately with al-Zawahiri’s death terrorism will not end. Terrorism is an ideology, which affects people. We have seen in the past, one terror chief dying and the other taking up the reins, whether it is Al Qaeda or Islamic State Daesh or Taliban. One may feel satisfied by killing a terror outfit chief, but the challenge from terrorism remains and the world has to be on alert. Our problem is that our border is closer. There are people sitting across the border and some of them have already infiltrated. We have to be more alert against such outfits rather than Al Qaeda or Islamic State.”
While the rest of the world has heaved a sigh of relief over al-Zawahiri’s death, people are questioning the reason behind killing a terror outfit leader who is himself in hiding. American analysts claim that President Biden, in order to shore up his ratings ahead of US Congress elections due in November this year, gave the green signal for this operation. Biden’s popularity rating is now at a low of less than 20 per cent due to rising inflation in the US and other issues. The US economy is staring at recession. Biden’s own Democrat party leaders want a new candidate for the US Presidential elections due in 2024.
Al-Zawahiri’s killing has spawned fresh controversy in Pakistan’s politics. American analysts say that it was Pakistani army which shared intelligence about his whereabouts with the US, and provided airport for US Reaper drone to take off, because Pakistan wants a fresh dose of aid from IMF.
Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan alleged that it was Army Chief General Bajwa who rang up the higher-ups in the US and shared Zawahiri’s location in Kabul. In return, he sought financial aid for Pakistan from the US, because the country is staring at fiscal bankruptcy.
Imran Khan told a rally on Tuesday that in 1995, Pakistan army handed over terrorist Ramzi Ahmed Yousef in exchange for dollars to America. It was Ramzi Ahmed Yousef who was one of the main perpetrators of 1993 World Trade Center bombing and the bombing of Phillipines Airlines plane. He was arrested by ISI in 1995 and then extradited to the US, where a court gave him two life sentences plus 240 years in jail.
ड्रग्स के मुद्दे पर नेताओं को दलगत राजनीति से ऊपर उठना चाहिए
पाकिस्तान हमारी नौजवान पीढ़ी को बर्बाद करने के लिए भारत में भारी मात्रा में ड्रग्स भेजने के एक खतरनाक प्लान पर काम कर रहा है। एक रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, पाकिस्तान की तरफ से इस साल 50 हजार किलो से भी ज्यादा हेरोईन, अफीम, ब्राउन शुगर और मेथा-एंफेटा-माइन जैसी ड्रग्स भारत में भेजी गई हैं।
इंडिया टीवी पर सोमवार की रात प्रसारित मेरे प्राइमटाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में हमने कोस्ट गार्ड (तटरक्षक दल) और गुजरात पुलिस एटीएस (आतंकवाद विरोधी दस्ते) की एक जॉइंट टीम और ड्रग तस्करों के बीच एनकाउंटर का लाइव वीडियो दिखाया। यह मुठभेड़ गुजरात तट के पास समंदर की उफनती लहरों के बीच हुई। हमने दो कथित तस्करों के बीच हुई बातचीत का एक ऑडियो क्लिप भी चलाया जिसमें लब्बोलुआब यह था कि समंदर के रास्ते से ड्रग्स को भारत में लाना उनके लिए कितना मुश्किल होता जा रहा है।
अंधेरी रातों में ये स्मगलर्स छोटी नावों में ड्रग्स लेकर में भारत के तटीय इलाके में घुसने की कोशिश करते हैं। गुजरात के कच्छ इलाके के समुद्र तट के पास कोस्ट गार्ड और गुजरात एटीएस पाकिस्तान से नाव पर सवार होकर आने वाले ड्रग तस्करों को लगातार दबोच रहे हैं।
वीडियो में साफ नजर आ रहा था कि कोस्ट गार्ड कैसे मोटर बोट को सर्चलाइट और फ्लेयर्स के जरिए ढूंढ़ती है और फिर एटीएस और कोस्ट गार्ड की जॉइंट टीम तस्करों को सरेंडर करने की वॉर्निंग देती है। ऑपरेशन अंतरराष्ट्रीय समुद्री सीमा रेखा के पास हुआ। समुद्र में किसी भी देश की सीमा का और वह भी रात के वक्त अंदाजा लगाना बेहद मुश्किल होता है।
वीडियो में सर्चलाइट ‘अल हज’ नाम की एक बड़ी मोटर बोट पर थी जो पाकिस्तान से भारत की ओर बढ़ रही थी। ऐक्टिव सर्विलांस के जरिए बोट को ट्रेस कर लिया गया। जब बार-बार चेतावनी देने और सरेंडर करने को कहने के बाद भी ड्रग तस्कर रात के अंधेरे का फायदा उठाकर भागने लगे, तो कोस्ट गार्ड के शिप ने उन्हें खदेड़ा और सरेंडर की चेतावनी के साथ ही भागते हुए तस्करों को पकड़ने के लिए फायरिंग भी शुरू हो गई। लगातार फायरिंग और वॉर्निंग के कारण ड्रग तस्करों को समझ आ गया कि वे भाग नहीं पाएंगे, इसलिए आखिरकार उन्होंने सरेंडर कर दिया।
बोट से 56 किलोग्राम हेरोइन के साथ 9 पाकिस्तानी तस्कर पकड़े गए। बोट से पकड़ी गई हेरोइन की अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजार में कुल कीमत करीब 280 करोड़ रुपये है। यह गुजरात ATS और कोस्ट गार्ड की बड़ी कामयाबी थी। जिस बोट में ड्रग तस्करी की जा रही थी, उसे समुद्री कारोबार की भाषा में लॉन्च कहते हैं। इस लॉन्च में पाइप लदे हुए थे। ड्रग्स को पाइप के भीतर छिपाकर रखा गया था, जिससे ऊपरी तौर पर देखने पर पता ही न चले कि पाइप के भीतर भी ड्रग्स हो सकती हैं। इस ऑपरेशन के दौरान जो लोग गिरफ्तार किए गए, उनमें पाकिस्तान के बड़े ड्रग तस्कर हाजी हसन का बेटा और उसका दामाद भी शामिल था।
ऑपरेशन के दौरान पकड़े गए पाकिस्तानी तस्करों से पूछताछ में पता चला कि पाकिस्तान से भेजी गई इन ड्रग्स का ‘रिसीवर’ तो दिल्ली में मौजूद है। दिल्ली से इन ड्रग्स को पंजाब, उत्तर प्रदेश और उत्तराखंड सप्लाई किया जाना था। इस जानकारी को गुजरात ATS ने NCB के साथ शेयर किया, जिसके बाद दिल्ली के जामिया नगर, शाहीन बाग और पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश के मुजफ्फरनगर में छापे मारे गए। इन सभी जगहों से 351 किलोग्राम हेरोइन और बरामद हुई है। ड्रग की इतनी भारी तादाद के साथ भारत के ड्रग माफिया रज़ी हैदर, इमरान और अवतार सिंह उर्फ़ सन्नी को पकड़ा गया।
भारतीय तस्करों से मिली जानकारी के बाद, भारत-पाकिस्तान के वाघा-अटारी बॉर्डर के पास से भी 100 किलोग्राम हेरोइन जब्त की गई। इस मामले में अभी कुछ और आरोपियों की तलाश की जा रही है। अब तक की जांच में पता ये चला है कि अफगानिस्तान से हेरोइन को ईरान और पाकिस्तान के रास्ते भारत भेजा जा रहा था। गुजरात से इस हेरोइन को दिल्ली के आसपास के इलाकों में लाकर डाइल्यूट किया जाता था, यानी की इनकी डोज को हल्का किया जाता था। इस काम के लिए ड्रग माफिया ने अफगानिस्तान के एक नागरिक को भी दिल्ली में खास तौर से रखा हुआ था। पुलिस ने अफगान को अब गिरफ्तार कर लिया है।
गुजरात एटीएस के डीआईजी दीपन भद्रन ने इंडिया टीवी के संवाददाता निर्णय कपूर को बताया कि पिछले 2 सालों में उनके दस्ते ने 65 ड्रग तस्करों को गिरफ्तार किया है, जिनमें 30 पाकिस्तानी, 17 ईरानी, 2 अफगान और एक नाइजीरियाई हैं। भद्रन ने बताया कि पिछले 6 महीने के दौरान कई हजार करोड़ रुपये कीमत की 25,700 किलोग्राम ड्रग्स जब्त की गई हैं।
पाकिस्तान में बैठे ड्रग तस्कर समुद्र के रास्ते ड्रग की सप्लाई से तौबा कर रहे हैं। ‘आज की बात’ शो में, हमने 2 कथित पाकिस्तानी तस्करों के बीच हुई बातचीत का एक ऑडियो क्लिप चलाया, जो कह रहे थे कि अब भारत में ड्रग्स भेजना काफी मुश्किल हो गया है।
ऑडियो क्लिप में फोन करने वाला व्यक्ति हाशिमभाई नाम के शख्स से कहता है, ‘सलाम अलैकुम भाईजान। क्या हाल हैं? ठीक-ठाक हैं, मजे में हैं? आप कैसे हैं? देखो हाशिम भाई, मेरी तकरीबन डेढ़-दो घंटे मीटिंग हुई है। उस नाख़ुदा को भी बुला लिया। अपने वालों को भी बुला लिया सबको। कोई नाख़ुदा उस पॉइंट पर जाने के लिए तैयार नहीं है। उसने बोला 190 मील तो छोड़ो 400 मील पर भी इंडिया घूम रहा है। 400 मील पर। ठीक है न! ये इसका सबसे बड़ा मेनगेट है और बोला कौन यहां पर जाएगा। 15 पर भी घूम रहा है। ये तो 20 हैं न। 14 और 15 में भी घूम रहा है। इसका राउंड ही आजकल यहीं लग रहा है। और ये बिल्कुल नामुमकिन है इस काम को हाथ में मत लो। क्योंकि यहां से नहीं हो सकता बिल्कुल। क्योंकि यहां से कोई बंदा अगर ईरानी गाड़ी निकाल दे तो मुझे नहीं लगता कि ये गाड़ी कामयाब होगी। क्योंकि बंदे पकड़े जाएं माल के साथ अल्लाह न करे, या फिर वही बड़ा परेशानी वाला मसला है। बात ये है कि मेरी 2 दिन मीटिंग होने के बावजूद दिलेर से दिलेर नाखुदा भी मैंने पकड़े हैं। कोई जाने के लिए तैयार नहीं है। वो बोल रहा है कि अगर ख़ुदकुशी करना चाहते हो तो कर लो। तो उन लोगों ने बोला कि ये अभी ईरानी लॉन्चेज के बस की बात नहीं है। ठीक है।’
ऑडियो क्लिप के दूसरे हिस्से में कॉल करने वाला बोलता है, ‘जितना भी हो सकता है आपको तो पता है ख़ुद भी। और वह जामनगर, राजकोट, पोरबंदर और ये 200 मील दूर हैं। ज़्यादा भी नहीं ये 180 या 200 मील दूर हैं। उसने बोला, भाई यहां बिल्कुल नामुमकिन है। बोला यहां बचने का एक पर्सेंट भी चांस नहीं है, एक पर्सेंट भी बचने का चांस नहीं है। यह सवाल ही पैदा नहीं होता कि यहां से एक पर्सेंट भी बचकर जाएं। बोला पैसे किसे अच्छे नहीं लगते। पांच लोग। माल। माल पहुंचेगा तो किसी को पैसे मिलेंगे न। लोग बचेंगे तो ये काम करेंगे। तो ये हालात हैं। आप तो ख़ुद समझदार हो। जानते हो सब। चीज़ों से थोड़ा-बहुत वाक़िफ़ हो इस इलाक़े के बारे में। वो हमारे ईरान की लॉन्च जो है, वो बहुत ख़तरनाक हो गई है। सिर्फ़ एक रूट जो है, वही उनके लिए बचा हुआ है, वो भी बचके निकलना होगा। ये रूट तो नामुमकिन है भाई को बता दो। ठीक है न। हम तो कह रहे हैं कि इस काम को अभी छोड़ दें लॉन्च के हिसाब से। दूसरा, उसके पास अगर ईरान से जहाज़ भी निकलेगा न तो वह भी उसके रेंज में आता है। इतना ख़तरनाक हो गया है।’
सोमवार को कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी और प्रियंका वाड्रा ने लगभग एक जैसे ट्वीट किए, जिसमें सरकार से सवाल किए गए थे। राहुल गांधी ने ट्वीट किया: गुजरात के मुंद्रा पोर्ट पर सितंबर 2021 में 21,000 करोड़ रुपये कीमत की 3,000 किलोग्राम ड्रग्स पकड़ी गई, मई 2022 में 500 करोड़ रुपये की 56 किलो ड्रग्स पकड़ी गई और जुलाई 2022 में 375 करोड़ रुपये की 75 किलो ड्रग्स जब्त की गईं। डबल इंजन सरकार में बैठे कौन लोग हैं जो लगातार ड्रग्स-शराब माफिया को संरक्षण दे रहे हैं? गुजरात के युवाओं को नशे में क्यों धकेला जा रहा है? मेरे सवाल: 1. एक ही पोर्ट पर 3 बार ड्रग्स बरामद होने के बावजूद, उसी पोर्ट पर लगातार ड्रग्स कैसे उतर रही है? 2. क्या गुजरात में कानून व्यवस्था खत्म है? माफिया को कानून का कोई डर नहीं? या ये माफिया की सरकार है? AAP सांसद संजय सिंह ने पूछा, ‘क्या मुंद्रा बंदरगाह ड्रग तस्करों का अड्डा बन गया है?’
बीजेपी के प्रवक्ता संबित पात्रा ने इस पर प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए, ‘याद कीजिए कि भारत पर सबसे बड़ा आतंकी हमला कांग्रेस के राज में समंदर के रास्ते हुआ था। जब मुंबई में आतंकी हमले हुए तब राहुल गांधी अपने दोस्तों के साथ पार्टी करने में बिजी थे और आज वह सवाल उठा रहे हैं।’
इंडिया टीवी के संवाददाता ने DIG दीपन भद्रन से इस बारे में पूछा। उन्होंने कहा, ‘इस साल अफगानिस्तान और ईरान में अफीम की खेती बहुत ज्यादा हुई है। अफगानिस्तान में तालिबान का शासन आने के बाद ड्रग्स की तस्करी बढ़ी है। यही वजह है कि भारत में भी बड़ी मात्रा में ड्रग्स पकड़ी जा रही हैं।’
गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने नशीले पदार्थों के खिलाफ सख्त नीति अपनाई है। 30 जुलाई को नारकोटिक्स कंट्रोल ब्यूरो ने चंडीगढ़ से शाह की वर्चुअल मौजूदगी में, दिल्ली, चेन्नई, गुवाहाटी और कोलकाता में जब्त किए गए 30,000 किलोग्राम से ज्यादा नशीले पदार्थों को आग के हवाले कर दिया। अमित शाह ने कहा, ‘पिछले साल हमने 75,000 किलो नशीले पदार्थों को नष्ट करने का संकल्प लिया था, और अब मुझे यह कहते हुए खुशी हो रही है कि आज तक हम 82,000 किलो नशीले पदार्थों को जला चुके हैं और 15 अगस्त तक एक लाख किलोग्राम के आंकड़े तक पहुंच जाएंगे।’
शाह ने कहा, 81 फीसदी ड्रग्स समुद्र के रास्ते आती हैं, लेकिन अब सरकार ने नशीले पदार्थों के कारोबार को खत्म करने के लिए सारे रास्ते बंद कर दिए हैं। उन्होंने कहा, ‘नौजवानों को ड्रग्स के क़हर से बचाना और तस्करी रोकना, दोनों ही बेहद अहम हैं।’
मैं अमित शाह की तारीफ करूंगा कि उन्होंने ड्रग माफिया के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई की है। मौजूदा सरकार के शासन में अब तक यूपीए शासन की तुलना में दोगुने से भी ज्यादा मात्रा में तस्करी किए गए ड्रग्स को जब्त किया जा चुका है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने पिछले वर्ष इस साल 15 अगस्त तक एक लाख करोड़ रुपये के ड्रग्स को जब्त करने का लक्ष्य रखा था, और गृह मंत्री अमित शाह उस लक्ष्य को हासिल करने के लिए कड़ी मेहनत कर रहे हैं।
ये सब महज आंकड़े नहीं हैं। यह एक बहुत बड़े खतरे से देश को बचाने का काम है। ये ड्रग्स कितनी खतरनाक होती हैं, यह आपको सिर्फ उन परिवार वालों से मिलकर पता चलेगा जिनका कोई अपना ड्रग्स के नशे के जाल में फंस जाता है। मैंने कई परिवारों को ड्रग्स की वजह से बर्बाद होते देखा है। कौन नहीं जानता कि ‘हंसते खेलते पंजाब’ को ‘उड़ता पंजाब’ किसने बनाया? स्कूल और कॉलेज के स्टूडेंट्स हॉस्टल और इवेंट्स में ‘रेव पार्टी’ करते थे जहां धड़ल्ले से ड्रग्स का इस्तेमाल होता था।
मुझे लगता है कि ड्रग्स का मसला ऐसा है जिसके खिलाफ सरकार और विपक्ष को मिलकर लड़ना चाहिए। नौजवान आसानी से ड्रग्स का शिकार बन जाते हैं और देश खोखला होता जाता है। यह ऐसा मुद्दा है जिस पर नेताओं को पार्टी पॉलिटिक्स से ऊपर उठकर सोचना चाहिए, सियासत से ऊपर उठकर बोलना चाहिए।
ऐसे समय में जब सुरक्षा एजेंसियां तस्करों को पकड़ने और पाकिस्तानी मंसूबों को नाकाम करने के लिए अपनी जान जोखिम में डाल रही हैं, राहुल गांधी द्वारा ड्रग्स की बरामदगी को तस्करों के साथ मिलीभगत से जोड़ना हैरान करता है। उन्हें तो हमारे सुरक्षा बलों की सराहना करनी चाहिए।
Leaders should rise above party politics on drugs issue
India’s arch enemy Pakistan is working on a diabolical plan to push huge quantities of drugs into India to destroy our young generations. According to one report, Pakistan pushed more than 50,000 kg of heroin, opium, brown sugar and methamphetamine drugs into India during the last one year.
In my primetime show ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ telecast on Monday night on India TV, we showed a live video of an encounter between a joint team of Coast Guard and Gujarat Police ATS (anti-terror squad) with drug smugglers on high seas off the Gujarat coast. We also played an audio clip purportedly between two smugglers saying how it was becoming tough for them to push drugs into India via sea route.
On dark nights, these smugglers try to enter Indian coastal zone in small boats carrying drugs. Off the coastline of Gujarat’s Kutch region, drug smugglers in boats coming from Pakistan are being regularly caught by Coast Guard and Gujarat ATS.
The video that was telecast clearly shows how motor boats were first located with the help of searchlight and flares from a Coast Guard ship, and the joint team of ATS and Coast Guard giving warning to the smugglers to surrender. The operation took place near the international maritime boundary line. Normally, at night, it is very difficult to trace the maritime zone of a particular country.
In the video, the searchlight was on a large motor boat named ‘Al Haj’ which was moving towards India from Pakistan. The boat was traced through active surveillance. Despite repeated warnings, when the smugglers tried to flee, the Coast Guard ship followed them, and started firing at them. Finally, the smugglers surrendered.
Nine Pakistani smugglers were arrested with 56 kilograms of heroin, worth Rs 280 crore in international market. This was a big success for the joint team of Coast Guard and Gujarat ATS. The Pakistani motor boat was loaded with pipes, and heroin packets were stuffed inside those pipes. Among those arrested were the son and son-in-law of a known Pakistani drug smuggler Haji Hassan.
During interrogation of the Pakistani smugglers, it was revealed that the drugs were meant for ‘receivers’ sitting in Delhi, who forward them to Punjab, UP and Uttarakhand. After Gujarat ATS shared the details with Narcotics Control Bureau, raids were conducted in Jamia Nagar and Shaheen Bagh of Delhi and in Muzaffarnagar, western UP. After raids, 351 kg heroin was seized. Members of India drug mafia Razi Haider, Imran and Avtar Singh alias Sunny were arrested.
After getting details from Indian smugglers, nearly 100 kg heroin was seized near Wagah-Attari India-Pakistan border in Punjab. Some more suspects are also being traced. The supply route of narcotics is usually from Afghanistan, and from there, it is sent to Iran and Pakistan, and later the drugs are pushed into India. The heroin seized on Gujarat coast was meant to be diluted in secret locations around Delhi. An Afghan citizen was hired by the local drug mafia to dilute heroin in Delhi. This Afghan national has been arrested.
The DIG of Gujarat ATS, Deepan Bhadran, told India TV correspondent Nirnay Kapoor that in the last two years, his squad arrested 65 drug smugglers, including 30 from Pakistan, 17 from Iran, two Afghans and one Nigerian. Bhadran said, 25,700 kg drugs of varied qualities worth several thousands crores of rupees were seized during the last six months.
Drug traffickers sitting in Pakistan are now worried. In ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ show, we played an audio clip purportedly between two Pakistani smugglers, who were saying that it was now difficult to push drugs into India.
In the audio clip, the caller tells a person named Hashimbhai, saying “I met the Nakhuda’ (captain of vessel) but he refused to land the drugs at the point that I told. He said, India’s vigil on seas is now not limited to 190 nautical miles, but up to 400 nautical miles. Don’t take the risk. Even if anybody takes out an Iranian vessel, he will not succeed, and will be caught. I tried to persuade the Nakhuda (captain) for two days. Nobody is ready to go. They are saying, its better to commit suicide. The captain said, it’s not possible for Iranian vessels to do this.”
In another part of the audio clip, the caller said, “Jamnagar, Rajkot and Porbandar are 180 to 200 nautical miles away. He said, it is impossible to land our consignment safely. He said, there is not one per cent chance of sneaking inside. He told me, who doesn’t like money? Five persons carrying consignment, if they stay alive, only then they can work. ..You know what’s the situation here. Sending consignment by Irani launches is riskier. Tell Bhai, it is impossible to take the single route that is available. Forget Iranian launches for now. Even if they send by Iranian ship, it will come within their (India’s) range. It is so dangerous.”
On Monday, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra posted almost identical tweets, posing questions to the Centre. Rahul Gandhi tweeted: “In Gujarat’s Mundhra port, 3,000 kg drugs worth Rs 21,000 were seized in September, 2021, 56 kg drugs worth Rs 500 cr were seized in May, 2022 and 75 kg drugs worth Rs 375 were seized in July 2022. Who are the persons sitting in double-engine government giving protection to drugs-liquor mafia? Are the youths of Gujarat being pushed to become addicts? My questions: 1. After seizure of drugs thrice at a single port, how come drugs are still being unloaded at that port? 2. Is there no law and order in Gujarat? Has the drug mafia no fear of law? Or, is it a government belonging to mafia?” AAP MP Sanjay Singh asked, “Has Mundhra port become a hub for drug smugglers?”
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra replied: “ Remember, the biggest terror attack on India took place via sea route during Congress rule. When the terror attacks took place in Mumbai, Rahul Gandhi was busy partying with his friends, and today he is raising questions.”
India TV correspondent asked DIG ATS Dipen Bhadran about this. He said, “there has been a bumper crop of opium in Afghanistan and Iran this year. Under Taliban regime, drugs smuggling from Afghanistan has increased. That is why, huge quantities of drugs are being seized in India.”
Home Minister Amit Shah has taken a tough policy against narcotics. On July 30, the Narcotics Control Bureau, in Shah’s virtual presence from Chandigarh, set fire to more than 30,000 kg of narcotics seized in Delhi, Chennai, Guwahati and Kolkata. Amit Shah said, last year “we took a pledge to destroy 75,000 kg of drugs, and I am now happy to say that till today we have incinerated 82,000 kg and will reach the one lakh kg mark by August 15.”
Shah said, 81 per cent of drugs seized come by sea route, but now the government has blocked all routes to put an end to the drug menace. “We must protect future generations by combating drug trafficking’, he said.
I would rather praise Amit Shah for taking tough action against drug mafia. During the present regime, more than double quantities of smuggled drugs were seized compared to the UPA regime.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had last year fixed a target of seizing Rs one lakh crore worth drugs by August 15 this year, and Home Minister Amit Shah is working hard to achieve that target.
These are not mere data and statistics. They show how measures were taken to save the country from grave risks. Once you meet families whose young ones were devastated due to drugs, you can realize the enormity of the danger. I have seen several families where the lives of their dear young ones were destroyed due to drugs. Who does not know the people who converted a ‘Happy and Carefree Punjab’ to ‘Udta Punjab’? Rave parties took place in hostels and events organized by school and college students, where drugs were freely used.
On the issue of narcotics, I feel both the ruling party and opposition must jointly fight this menace. Youths easily become victims of drugs and the nation is the ultimate loser. On such issues, leaders should rise above party politics and speak out.
At a time when security agencies are risking their lives to catch smugglers and foil Pakistani designs, one is surprised to see Rahul Gandhi linking drug seizures to allege collusion with drug mafia. He should be praising our security forces.
