सुशांत की मौत के मामले का रहस्य अब और गहरा हो गया है
नारकोटिक्स कंट्रोल ब्यूरो के अधिकारियों ने शुक्रवार को अभिनेत्री रिया चक्रवर्ती और सुशांत सिंह राजपूत के पूर्व हाउस मैनेजर सैमुअल मिरांडा सुशांत के घर पर दिवंगत अभिनेता की मौत की जांच के सिलसिले में छापेमारी की। बाद में NCB के अधिकारियों ने रिया के भाई शौविक और सैमुअल मिरांडा से अलगअलग पूछताछ शुरू की। इस बीच CBI के अधिकारियों ने शुक्रवार को सुशांत की मौत के संबंध में बंटी सजदेह से पूछताछ की। बंटी सुशांत सिंह समेत कई बॉलीवुड स्टार्स और क्रिकेट प्लेयर्स के अकाउंट्स को मैनेज करने वाली फर्म कॉर्नरस्टोन के CEO हैं।
इससे पहले, गुरुवार को, सुशांत के पिता के वकील विकास सिंह ने आरोप लगाया कि तथ्यों से साफ पता चलता है कि सुशांत ने आत्महत्या नहीं की थी, बल्कि उनकी हत्या की गई थी। वकील ने कहा कि पटना में दर्ज FIR में हत्या का जिक्र नहीं किया गया था, लेकिन तथ्य और परिस्थितियां उसी तरफ इशारा करती हैं। वकील ने सुशांत की बहनों द्वारा मुंबई पुलिस को दिए गए बयानों को खारिज कर दिया जिसमें उन्होंने अपने भाई की खुदकुशी के संबंध में रिया का नाम नहीं लिया था। वकील ने कहा कि बयान मराठी में लिखे गए थे, उन्हें नहीं मालूम मुबई पुलिस ने उन बयानों में क्या लिखा और मुंबई पुलिस ने उनसे जबर्दस्ती दस्तखत कराए। विकास सिंह ने कहा कि इस तरह के बयानों का कोई मतलब नहीं है।
गुरुवार को अपने प्राइम टाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में हमने दिखाया था कि सुशांत की बहन मीतू सिंह ने 16 जुलाई को पटना पुलिस को क्या बताया था। इस बयान में कही गई बातों और मुंबई पुलिस को दिए गए बयान में जमीन आसमान का अंतर है। हमारे पटना के रिपोर्टर नीतीश चंद्रा ने मीतू सिंह के बयान के ऑडियो रिकॉर्ड से एक-एक शब्द को नोट किया और मुझे भेजा। मैंने भी मीतू सिंह के बयान को पूरा पढ़ा। उनका इस बयान में मुंबई पुलिस को दिए गए और मराठी में लिखे गए बयान की तुलना में ज्यादा डिटेल्स हैं।
मीतू सिंह ने कहा कि वह 8 जून को सुशांत के अपार्टमेंट में पहुंचीं तो पता चला कि रिया और उसके भाई शौविक 2 सूटकेस लेकर वहां से जा चुके थे। उन्होंने कहा, रिया जाते समय उनके भाई का लैपटॉप, घड़ी और कैमरा भी ले गई और इस बात को लेकर सुशांत काफी अपसेट थे। अगले दिन जब दिशा सलियान की खुदकुशी की खबर आई तो सुशांत और और ज्यादा परेशान हो गए और उन्होंने अपनी दीदी से कहा कि रिया और उसके घर वाले उनके कैमरे और लैपटॉप का इस्तेमाल करके उन्हें फंसा देंगे।
मीतू के मुताबिक, सुशांत के स्टाफ ने उन्हें बताया कि रिया ने कभी भी किसी बाहरी शख्स को सुशांत से मिलने की इजाजत नहीं दी। स्टाफ ने यह भी कहा कि रिया, उसका भाई और उसके माता-पिता सुशांत पर लगातार नजर रखते थे। और अगर इनमें से कोई मौजूद नहीं होता था तो फिर श्रुति मोदी या फिर सैमुअल मिरांडा सुशांत पर नजर रखने के लिए रहते थे। रिया ने फ्लैट छोड़ने के बाद सुशांत का नंबर ब्लॉक कर दिया था। मीतू ने कहा कि सुशांत के साइकाइट्रिस्ट का नंबर भी रिया के ही पास था इसलिए साइकाइट्रिस्ट से संपर्क कर पाना भी मुश्किल था। मीतू ने कहा कि चूंकि रिया सुशांत का लैपटॉप भी अपने साथ ले गई थी, इसलिए सुशांत काफी परेशान थे कि वह उनके मेल और सोशल मीडिया का दुरुपयोग करके उन्हें फंसा सकती है। वह काफी डरे हुए थे। मीतू ने 12 जून को फ्लैट से जाने से पहले सिद्धार्थ पिठानी, केशव, नीरज और दीपेश सावंत से अपने भाई की देखभाल करने के लिए कहा था।
मीतू ने कहा, 14 जून को, जिस दिन सुशांत की मौत हुई, सिद्धार्थ पिठानी ने उन्हें फोन करके कहा कि बेडरूम का दरवाजा अंदर से बंद है। मीतू ने सिद्धार्थ से दरवाजा खटखटाने के लिए कहा, और खुद अपने भाई के घर के लिए निकल गईं। रास्ते में सिद्धार्थ ने उन्हें फोन पर बताया कि दरवाजा खोलने के लिए चाभी वाले को बुलाया गया है। मीतू ने कहा, जब वह अपने भाई के फ्लैट से 10 से 15 मिनट की दूरी पर थीं, सिद्धार्थ ने उन्हें फोन पर बताया कि सुशांत ने फांसी लगा ली है। मीतू ने कहा, जब मैं सुशांत के घर पहुंची तो मैंने पाया कि उनका शरीर बिस्तर पर पड़ा था। इसके बाद पुलिस को बुलाया गया और शव को पोस्टमॉर्टम के लिए कूपर अस्पताल ले जाया गया। मीतू के मुताबिक, इसी बीच एक अजीब-सी बात हुई। उन्होंने कहा कि संदीप सिंह, जिनसे वह कभी नहीं मिली थीं, घर पर आए, उन्हें अस्पताल ले गए और पोस्टमॉर्टम से जुड़े डॉक्युमेंट्स पर उनके सिग्नेचर करवाए।
अपने बयान में मीतू ने साफ कहा कि रिया, उसके भाई शौविक, मां संध्या, पिता इंद्रजीत और नए-नवेले स्टाफ श्रुति मोदी एवं सैमुअल मिरांडा द्वारा सुशांत को गलत दवाइयां देने, परिवार से दूर रखने और मानसिक प्रताड़ना देने की वजह से उनके भाई की मौत हुई। मीतू ने पिछले साल नवंबर में वॉटरस्टोन रिसोर्ट में हुई मीटिंग के बारे में भी बताया, जहां रिया के वकील के मुताबिक सुशांत की बहनों को उनकी संपत्ति हड़पने की प्लानिंग करते सुना गया था। मीतू ने कहा कि सुशांत के साथ रिया और शौविक भी रिजॉर्ट में रह रहे थे, लेकिन जब मीतू और बाकी दोनों बहनें वहां पहुंची तब रिया, उसका भाई और उसके माता-पिता रिजॉर्ट छोड़कर जुहू स्थित अपने फ्लैट में चले गए। अपनी तीनों बहनों से मिलकर सुशांत काफी खुश हुए थे और उन्होंने अपने स्टाफ को भी उनके बारे में बताया था।
मीतू ने कहा कि अगले दिन शाम को लगभग 4 बजे रिया अपने भाई और माता-पिता के साथ सुशांत की बहनों से मिलने आई। सुशांत ने उन्हें बताया कि वह अपनी बहनों के साथ चंडीगढ़ जाएंगे और फिर अपने रूम में चले गए। रिया ने जब सुशांत के कमरे में जाने की कोशिश की तो उनकी बहनों ने उन्हें रोक दिया और कहा कि सुशांत को आराम की जरूरत है। इसके बाद रिया ने अपने घर जाकर सुशांत से फोन पर बात की। कुछ देर बाद सुशांत अपने कमरे से बाहर निकला तो वह उखड़ा-उखड़ा नजर आ रहा था। तब तक श्रुति मोदी और सैमुअल मिरांडा भी तीनों बहनों को बिना कुछ बताए रिजॉर्ट से चले गए।
मीतू के मुताबिक, रिया का भाई शौविक देर शाम को रिजॉर्ट में आया और सुशांत से कुछ बात करने के लिए उन्हें लॉन में ले गया। सुशांत के बॉडीगार्ड साहिल ने ये बात तीनों बहनों को बता दी। साहिल ने उनसे कहा कि ‘पूरा कुनबा आया हुआ है, दीदी सर को बचा लो।’ मीतू ने कहा, तीनों बहनों ने भी सुशांत को रिया के भाई और माता-पिता से बात करते हुए देखा। कुछ समय बाद, सुशांत वापस लौटे और अपनी बहनों से अचानक कहा कि वह चंडीगढ़ नहीं जाएंगे। तीनों बहनों ने सुशांत के मन को बदलने की पूरी कोशिश की, यहां तक कि वे रोईं भी, लेकिन वह नहीं माने। इसके बाद तीनों बहनें घर लौट गईं।
पटना पुलिस को दिए अपने बयान में मीतू ने यह भी बताया कि सुशांत रिया से पहली बार कैसे मिले थे। उनके मुताबिक, सुशांत की बहन प्रियंका अपने पति के साथ अप्रैल 2019 में सुशांत के पुराने फ्लैट कैप्री हाइट्स में आई थीं। वहां वह एक पार्टी में रिया से मिलीं। बाद में, एक रात करीब 1 बजे रिया ने प्रियंका को फोन किया और कहा कि वह एक पार्टी से लौट रही है और उनके भाई सुशांत से उनके घर पर मिलना चाहती है। प्रियंका ने पहले तो उसे रोकने की कोशिश की, लेकिन उसने काफी जोर दिया और वहां आ गई। रिया रात को फ्लैट में ही रुकी, और बाद में वह सुशांत के घर अक्सर आने लगी।
मीतू के मुताबिक, रिया ने प्रियंका से कहा कि आप लोगों का परिवार काफी अच्छा है, और इसी बीच उसने सुशांत से काफी नजदीकी बना ली। जब प्रियंका और उनके पति सिद्धार्थ ने दिल्ली लौटने के लिए टिकट बुक किया, तो रिया और सुशांत ने जोर देकर उन्हें मुंबई में ही रुकने के लिए कहा। इसके बाद प्रियंका वहां रुकने के लिए मान गईं लेकिन उनके पति वहां से चले गए। मीतू के मुताबिक, बाद में रिया ने सुशांत से प्रियंका के बारे में झूठी शिकायतें कीं, और उन्हें दिल्ली अकेले ही लौटना पड़ा। उस समय तक रिया और उसका परिवार सुशांत के काफी करीब आ गए थे। मीतू के मुताबिक, सुशांत के दिमाग में कैप्री हाइट्स वाले फ्लैट में भूतों को लेकर मतिभ्रम पैदा हुआ, जिसके चलते वह अपना ज्यादातर समय पावना फार्म्स या रिवरस्टोन रिजॉर्ट में बिताने लगे। इस बीच रिया ने पुराने स्टाफ को निकाल दिया और सुशांत के घर में श्रुति मोदी, सैमुअल मिरांडा और बाकी के नए स्टाफ को रख लिया।
मीतू ने कहा, पिछले साल दशहरा की छुट्टियों के दौरान रिया और सुशांत ने यूरोप का टूर किया और रिया के भाई शौविक को भी साथ घूमने के लिए बुलाया। रिया, सुशांत और शौविक ने एक कंपनी खोलने का प्लान बनाया जिसमें वे तीनों डायरेक्टर थे। इस बीच सुशांत बीमार पड़ गए और भारत लौट आए। वह रिया के जुहू स्थित फ्लैट में रुके, जहां बिस्तर और टीवी से लेकर बाकी सामान तक सुशांत के ही पैसे से खरीदे गए। मीतू ने कहा, कुक केशव ने उन्हें बताया था कि अजीब वेशभूषा वाली अधेड़ उम्र की एक महिला रिया के घर आती थी और सुशांत के ऊपर झाड़-फूंक और जादू-टोना करती थी। मीतू ने पटना पुलिस को यह भी बताया कि रिया और उसका भाई शौविक सुशांत के बीमार होने पर भी अक्सर उनके भाई के फ्लैट में पार्टियां करते थे। इन पार्टियों में महंगी वाइन, शराब, फाइव स्टार का खाना और महंगी सिगरेट आती रहती थी।
मीतू ने कहा, जब वह इस साल जनवरी में अपने भाई से मिलने गईं तो वह उनसे मिलकर काफी खुश हुआ था। सुशांत उनके साथ खुद ड्राइव करके चंडीगढ़ गए लेकिन रिया के बार-बार फोन करके दबाव बनाने के चलते उन्हें जल्दी ही मुंबई वापस लौटना पड़ा। सुशांत के अकाउंटेंट रजत मेवाती ने एक बार मीतू को फोन करके बताया था कि उनके भाई का बहुत ज्यादा पैसा खर्च हो रहा है, जिससे वह परेशान भी रहता है। मीतू पुराने रसोइए अशोक के साथ सुशांत से मिलने गईं, लेकिन उन्हें अपने भाई से मिलने की इजाजत नहीं दी गई। उन्हें वॉट्सऐप पर बताया गया कि सुशांत उनसे नहीं मिल सकते। उस समय तक रिया ने अकाउंटेंट रजत को भी हटा दिया था और सुशांत के बैंक अकाउंट्स की सारी डिटेल और उनके एटीएम कार्ड भी अपने ही पास रखने लगी।
एक दूसरी डिवेलपमेंट में गुरुवार को CBI ने सुशांत की साइकाइट्रिस्ट सुजैन वॉकर से पूछताछ की। सुजैन ने पूछताछ के तौरान वही बातें बताई जो उन्होंने 16 जुलाई को मुंबई पुलिस को बताई थीं। उन्होंने कहा कि सुशांत बाइपोलर डिसऑर्डर से पीड़ित थे और उनकी हालत पिछले साल अक्टूबर और नवंबर में बिगड़ने लगी थी। उन्होंने CBI अफसरों को बताया कि रिया ने उनसे कहा था कि सुशांत को अक्सर खुदकुशी के ख्याल आते हैं। सुजैन ने कहा कि सुशांत को उसकी बीमारी के बारे में पता था लेकिन वह दवा नहीं ले रहे थे।
सुजैन वॉकर ने कहा, पिछले साल 30 अक्टूबर को उन्हें श्रुति मोदी से एक वॉट्सऐप मैसेज मिला जिसमें उनसे यह कहते हुए अपॉइंटमेंट मांगा गया था कि सुशांत को पिछले 10 दिन से एंजाइटी की सीरियस प्रॉब्लम है। उन्होंने 4 नवंबर के लिए अपॉइंटमेंट दिया लेकिन श्रुति ने उसी दिन इसे कैंसिल कर दिया। 7 नवंबर को रिया ने उससे वॉट्सऐप पर कॉन्टैक्ट किया और अपॉइंटमेंट मांगा, और कहा कि उस दिन सुशांत की हालत ठीक नहीं थी इसलिए वह नहीं आ पाए थे। उन्होंने 15 नवंबर के लिए एक और अपॉइंटमेंट दी, लेकिन रिया ने उनसे और पहले की डेट देने के लिए जोर डाला। डॉक्टर ने उनसे पूछा कि क्या सुशांत को खुदकुशी के ख्याल आ रहे हैं जिसका जवाब रिया ने हां में दिया। उसने यह भी बताया कि सुशांत का एक दूसरी साइकाइट्रिस्ट निकिता शाह से इलाज चल रहा है।
सुजैन ने अपने बयान में कहा, 7 नवंबर की शाम लगभग 4.45 बजे रिया और सुशांत मेरे क्लिनिक में आए। मैंने रिया को बाहर खड़े रहने के लिए कहा और सुशांत के साथ बात की। बात करने के बाद वह इस नतीजे पर पहुंचीं कि सुशांत की हालत बहुत गंभीर थी। सुजैन वॉकर ने कहा कि एंजाइटी लेवर के लिए 1 से 10 के स्केल पर उनकी मानसिक स्थिति 9 तक पहुंच गई थी। सुजैन वॉकर ने अपने बयान में कहा, ‘2013-14 में उनकी एंजाइटी बहुत बढ़ गई थी। जब वह छोटे थे, तो उन्होंने एडीएचडी के इलाज के लिए 2 बार एडरोल दवा ली थी ताकि उनका कंसन्ट्रेशन बढ़ सके। वह बेहद शर्मीले थे इसलिए उनके दोस्त उनका मजाक उड़ाते थे। जब वह 15-16 साल के थे, तब पैनिक अटैक के चलते उनकी मां की मौत हो गई थी।’
सुजैन ने कहा, ‘उन्होंने मुझे जो बताया उसके मुताबिक वह अपनी मां के बहुत करीब थे। उनकी मौत के बाद वह अपनी बहन के करीब थे, लेकिन मैंने उन्हें अपने पिता के करीब नहीं पाया। सुशांत सिंह राजपूत ने स्पेस, एस्ट्रोनॉमी और फिजिक्स पर बात की। उनका बोलना और हावभाव विषय से पूरी तरह अलग था और वह बहुत तेजी से बोलते थे। यह देखकर मुझे यकीन हो गया कि सुशांत सिंह राजपूत बाइपोलर डिसऑर्डर से पीड़ित हैं।’ मनोचिकित्सक सुज़ैन वॉकर का कथन स्पष्ट है। उन्होंने सुशांत की जांच एथेरियन मनोचिकित्सक परवीन दादाचांजी से करवाई। दोनों सहमत थे कि सुशांत द्विध्रुवी विकार से पीड़ित था। उन्होंने कहा कि सुशांत काफी निराश थे, उन्हें दवा की जरूरत थी और नकारात्मक विचार चल रहे थे। दोनों डॉक्टरों का मानना है कि अभिनेता ने आत्महत्या कर ली होगी। अब सवाल यह है: इस आत्महत्या के लिए कौन जिम्मेदार है?
साइकाइट्रिस्ट सुजैन वॉकर की बात बिल्कुल साफ है। उन्होंने सुशांत की जांच एक दूसरे साइकाइट्रिस्ट प्रवीण दादाचंदजी से भी करवाई। दोनों इस बात पर सहमत थे कि सुशांत बाइपोलर डिसऑर्डर से पीड़ित थे। उनका मानना था कि सुशांत काफी निराश हो गए थे, उन्हें दवा की जरूरत थी और उनके दिमाग में नकारात्मक बातें चल रही थीं। दोनों डॉक्टरों का मानना है कि सुशांत ने आत्महत्या की होगी। अब सवाल यह है कि इस आत्महत्या के लिए कौन जिम्मेदार है?
लेकिन मीतू सिंह का बयान दोनों साइकाइट्रिस्ट्स की राय से पूरी तरह अलग है। इसलिए मामला ज्यादा कॉम्प्लिकेटेड हो गया है। सुशांत की बहनों द्वारा दिए गए बयानों पर ध्यान दिया जाना चाहिए क्योंकि ये ऐसे मुद्दे हैं जिन्हें मीडिया में व्यापक तौर पर उठाया गया है। मीतू सिंह ने कहा कि रिया के संपर्क में आने के बाद उनके भाई की हालत गंभीर हो गई थी। उनकी बातों से लगता है कि रिया ने सुशांत की निजी जिंदगी और उनके पैसे पर पूरा कंट्रोल रखा, उन्हें अपने परिवार के लोगों से दूर रखा, जादू-टोने की मदद ली, और उनके भाई को मानसिक रूप से बर्बाद कर दिया। रहस्य अब गहरा हो गया है। लेकिन सवाल अभी भी है: आखिर सुशांत की मौत के पीछे का मकसद क्या था?
Sushant death case: the mystery deepens
Narcotics Control Bureau officers on Friday carried out searches at the residences of actor Rhea Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda, Sushant Singh’s former house manager in connection with the probe into a drug angle in Sushant’s death. Later, NCB officers began questioning Rhea’s brother Showik and Samuel Miranda separately. Meanwhile, CBI officers on Friday questioned Bunty Sajdeh, the CEO of Cornerstone firm that manages the accounts of cricket and Bollywood celebrities including Sushant Singh, in connection with the actor’s death.
Earlier, on Thursday, Vikas Singh, lawyer of Sushant’s father, alleged that facts clearly show Sushant did not die of suicide, but was murdered. The lawyer said though murder was not mentioned in the FIR filed in Patna, but facts and circumstances point towards the same. The lawyer rejected the statements given by Sushant’s sisters to Mumbai Police in which they did not mention Rhea’s name in connection with her brother’s suicide. The lawyer said that the statements were written in Marathi, which they did not understand and Mumbai Police asked them to sign. Such statements had no value, the lawyer said.
In our prime time show ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ on Thursday, we showed what Sushant’s sister Mitu Singh told Patna police on July 16. The facts narrated in this statement are completely different from those mentioned in the statement given to Mumbai police. Our Patna reporter Nitish Chandra jotted down each and every word from the audio record of Mitu Singh’s statement and sent it to me which I went through. This statement is more detailed compared to the one said to be given to Mumbai Police and written in Marathi.
Mitu Singh said, she reached Sushant’s apartment on June 8 and came to know that Rhea and her brother Showik had left carrying two suitcases. She said, Rhea took her brother’s laptop, watch and camera while leaving and noticed Sushant quite upset. The next day, when news came about Disha Salian’s suicide, Sushant was more upset and told his Didi that Rhea and her family would trap him using his camera and laptop.
According to Mitu, Sushant’s staff told her that Rhea never allowed any outsider to meet Sushant and she, her brother and parents used to keep constant watch over him. If the four were absent, they used to keep Shruti Modi or Samuel Miranda to keep watch on Sushant. Rhea had blocked Sushant’s phone calls after leaving the flat. Mitu said, Rhea had the phone number of Sushant’s psychiatrist with her and it was difficult to reach out to the psychiatrist. Since Rhea had taken away the laptop, Mitu said, Sushant was worried that she could misuse his mails and social media and trap him. Sushant was quite afraid. Mitu left the flat on June 12 and before leaving asked Sidharth Pithani, Keshav, Niraj and Dipesh Sawant to take care of her brother.
On June 14, the day Sushant died, Mitu says, Sidharth Pithani called her up, said the bed room was locked from inside. Mitu asked him to knock the door, and left her house to visit her brother. On the way, Sidharth told her over phone that a locksmith has been called to open the door.
Mitu says, when she was 10 to 15 minutes away from her brother’s flat, Sidharth told her over phone that Sushant has hanged himself from the ceiling fan. When I reached Sushant’s home, I found her body lying on the bed, Mitu said. Police was called and the body was taken to Cooper hospital for post-mortem. Meanwhile, a strange thing happened, according to Mitu. Sandip Singh, whom she had never met, came to the house, took her to the hospital and made her sign the post-mortem documents.
In the statement, Mitu clearly says, Rhea, her brother Showik, mother Sandhya, father Indrajit, newly appointed staff Shruti Modi and Samuel Miranda caused her brother’s death by giving him wrong medicines, by keeping him away from family members and by inflicting mental trauma on him.
About the meeting at Waterstone resort in November last year, where, according to Rhea’s lawyer, the sisters were heard planning to grab Sushant’s properties, Mitu says, Sushant was staying in the resort with Rhea and her brother, but when Mitu and the two sisters reached there, Rhea, her brother and parents left the resort and went to their Juhu flat. Sushant was quite happy on seeing his three sisters and he told his staff about them.
The next day at around 4 pm, Rhea came with her brother and parents to meet the sisters. Sushant told them that he would go to Chandigarh with his sisters and left for his room. Rhea tried to follow him to the room, but the sisters stopped her and said Sushant needed rest. Rhea went home and spoke on phone with Sushant. After sometime, Sushant came out of the room looking dejected. By that time, Shruti Modi and Samuel Miranda had left the resort without telling the sisters.
According to Mitu, Rhea’s brother Showik came late in the evening to the resort and took him to the lawns to discuss something. Sushant’s bodyguard Sahil informed the sisters. Sahil told them that ‘the entire family has come, Didi, kindly save Sir’. Mitu said, the three sisters saw Sushant talking to Rhea’s brother and parents. After some time, Sushant returned and abruptly told his sisters that he would not go to Chandigarh. The three sisters tried their best to change Sushant’s mind, even wept, but he did not agree. The three sisters then returned home.
In her statement to Patna police, Mitu has also narrated how Sushant first met Rhea. According to her, in April 2019, Sushant’s sister Priyanka had come with her husband to Sushant’s earlier flat at Capri Heights. There she met Rhea at a party. Later, one night at around 1 am, Rhea rang up Priyanka and said she was returning from a party and want to meet her brother Sushant at his home. Priyanka at first tried to stop her, but she insisted and turned up. Rhea stayed at the flat for the night, and later she started visiting her brother regularly.
According to Mitu, Rhea told Priyanka that Sushant’s family was a nice one, and in the meantime, her relationship with the actor developed. When Priyanka and her husband Sidharth booked their return tickets to Delhi, Rhea and Sushant insisted that they stay in Mumbai. Priyanka offered to stay but her husband left. Later, according to Mitu, Rhea made fake complaints about her to Sushant, and Priyanka returned to Delhi alone.
By that time, Rhea and her family members came quite closer to Sushant. According to Mitu, Sushant had hallucinations about ghosts at his flat in Capri Heights, and he started staying in Pawna farms or at Riverstone resort. In the meantime, Rhea had sacked all old employees and employed Shruti Modi, Samuel Miranda and other new staff in Sushant’s house.
During Dussehra holidays last year, Rhea and Sushant visited Europe, and called Rhea’s brother Showik to join them. Rhea, Sushant and Showik floated a company in which they were directors. Sushant fell ill, returned to India and stayed in Rhea’s Juhu flat, where bed, TV and other appliances were bought with Sushant’s money. Mitu says, the cook Keshav told her a middle-aged woman wearing in weird clothes used to come and perform occult practices on Sushant.
Mitu also told Patna police that Rhea and her brother Showik used to frequently hold parties at Sushant’s flat, even when the actor was ill. Costly wine, alcohol, five-star food and expensive cigarettes were served at these parties.
Mitu said, when she visited her brother in January this year, he was happy on meeting her. Sushant drove with her to Chandigarh, but due to constant pressures from Rhea over phone calls, Sushant had to cut short and return to Mumbai. Sushant’s accountant Rajat Mewati once told her that the actor’s expenses had increased and Sushant was worried. Mitu went with old cook Ashok to meet Sushant, but was not allowed to meet her brother. She was informed on WhatsApp that Sushant was unable to meet her. By that time, Rhea had sacked the accountant, and she started keeping all account details and the actor’s ATM cards with her.
In another development, on Thursday, Sushant’s psychiatrist Suzanne Walker was questioned by CBI. During questioning, she stood by what she had told Mumbai Police on July 16 that the actor was suffering from bipolar disorder and that his condition had started deteriorating in October and November last year. She told the sleuths that Rhea had told her that Sushant was often having ‘suicidal thoughts’. She said, Sushant was aware of his disease but was not taking medicines.
Suzanne Walker said, on October 30 last year, she got a WhatsApp message from Shruti Modi seeking an appointment because Sushant was suffering from anxiety for last ten days. She gave an appointment for November 4, but Shruti cancelled that on the same day. On November 7, Rhea contacted her on WhatsApp and sought an appointment, but on the same day, since his mental condition was not well, he could not come. She gave another appointment date for November 15, but Rhea insisted on an earlier date. The doctor asked her whether he was getting suicidal tendencies, and Rhea replied Yes. She also told her that the actor was getting treatment from another psychiatrist Nikita Shah.
On November 7 at around 4.45 pm Rhea and Sushant came to her clinic, I asked Rhea to stand outside and had a clinical discussion with Sushant, Dr Walker said in her statement. After discussion, she reached the conclusion that Sushant’s condition was very serious. ‘Taking a scale of 1 to 10 for anxiety, his mental condition had reached 9’, said Suzanne Walker.
In her statement, Suzanne Walker said: “His anxiety had increased a lot in 2013-14. When he was young, he had taken Aderol medicine, twice every week to increase his concentration, as a treatment of ADHD. He was very shy. Hence, his peers used to tease him. When he was 15 -16 years old, his mother had passed away due to panic attack.”
“According to what he told me, he was very close to his mother. After her death, he was close to his sister, but I found him not close to his father. Mr Sushant Singh discussed about space, astronomy and physics. His speech and behaviour were completely irrelevant and very fast. On that, I was sure that Sushant Singh Rajput is suffering from bipolar disorder.”
Psychiatrist Suzanne Walker’s statement is clear. She also got Sushant checked by anther psychiatrist Perveen Dadachanji. Both agreed that Sushant was suffering from bipolar disorder. They opined that Sushant was quite dejected, needed medication, and was having negative thoughts. Both the doctors believe that the actor may have committed suicide. The question now is: who is responsible for this suicide?
But Mitu Singh’s statement is completely at variance with the opinion of the two psychiatrists. This has complicated matters. Attention must be paid to the statements given by Sushant’s sisters because these are issues that have been widely raised in the media. Mitu Singh’s observation that her brother’s condition took a nosedive when he came in contact with Rhea deserves to be noted. Her assertions that Rhea took complete control over Sushant’s personal life and his finances, kept him away from his family members, took helped from occult practices, had turned his brother a mental wreck. The mystery is now deep. But the question remains: what was the motive behind causing Sushant’s death?
चीन समझ चुका है कि अब भारत उसे उसी की भाषा में जवाब देगा
पूर्वी लद्दाख में पैंगोंग झील के दक्षिणी किनारे की चोटियों पर कब्जा जमाकर अपनी पकड़ मजबूत करने के साथ ही भारत ने बुधवार को चाइनीज एप्स पर बैन लगाकर चीन पर एक और ताजा हमला कर दिया है। टेलीकॉम और आईटी मंत्रालय ने दुनिया के सबसे लोकप्रिय मोबाइल गेम PUBG समेत 118 ऐप्स पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया है। सरकार की तरफ से जारी बयान में कहा गया है कि 118 चाइनीज ऐप्स पर पाबंदी का फैसला इसलिए किया गया क्योंकि इनकी गतिविधियां देश की सुरक्षा और संप्रभुता के लिए खतरा बन सकती थीं।
इससे पहले भारत 106 चाइनीज ऐप्स को बैन कर चुका है। उस वक्त भारत ने यह कदम गलवान घाटी में हुई खूनी झड़प के बाद उठाया था। गलवान घाटी में चीन के अतिक्रमण को रोकने की कार्रवाई में 20 भारतीय सैनिक शहीद हुए थे जबकि चीन के सैनिकों की भी बड़ी संख्या में मौत हुई थी। पैंगोंग लेक इलाके में ताजा तनाव के मद्देनजर भारत सरकार ने बुधवार को चाइनीज ऐप्स पर यह बैन लगाया है। चीनी सैनिकों ने वास्तविक नियंत्रण रेखा (एलएसी) पर यथास्थिति को बदलने की कोशिश की थी जिसे भारतीय सैनिकों ने विफल कर दिया।
एक झटके में भारत ने चीन को यह सख्त संदेश दिया है कि अगर किसी तरह की नापाक हरकत की कोशिश हुई तो उसे उसी की भाषा में जवाब दिया जाएगा। एक्सपर्ट्स का कहना है कि चीन अपने ऐप्स के जरिए भारतीयों के बारे में डेटा इकट्ठा करने की कोशिश कर रहा था और लगे हाथों पैसे भी कमा रहा था। चीन जिस तरह सीमा पर बार-बार तनाव पैदा करने की कोशिश कर रहा था उसे देखते हुए भारत ने अब सैन्य मोर्चे के साथ-साथ आर्थिक मोर्चे पर भी चीन को सबक सिखाने का फैसला किया है।
हालांकि PUBG के बारे में दावा किया जाता है कि यह साउथ कोरिया की कंपनी है लेकिन दिलचस्प बात यह है कि PUBG का चीन से सीधा लिंक है। PUBG के जो भी वर्जन अपडेट होते हैं उसका कॉन्ट्रैक्ट चीन की कंपनी टेन्सेंट गेम्स के पास है। टेन्सेंट गेम्स ही इस ऐप के नए-नए वर्जन्स रिलीज करती है। इसका सर्वर भी चीन में है। लिहाजा PUBG को बैन किया गया है। हालांकि PUBG भारत में सबसे लोकप्रिय ऑनलाइन गेम्स में से एक है। भारत में PUBG को 17 करोड़ 50 लाख से ज्यादा बार डाउनलोड किया जा चुका है। पूरी दुनिया में PUBG के जितने यूजर्स हैं उसका एक चौथाई यानी 25 प्रतिशत अकेले भारत में हैं। एक और चौंकाने वाली बात ये है कि लॉकडाउन के दौरान PUBG के यूजर्स तेजी से बढ़े हैं। डेटा एनालिटिक्स फर्म Sensor Tower के मुताबिक PUBG मोबाइल दुनिया भर में सबसे ज्यादा कमाई करने वाला गेम है। PUBG Mobile की आब तक की आमदनी करीब 22 हजार 457 करोड़ रुपए है। रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक 2019 के मुकाबले अब तक PUBG के कारोबार में 41 प्रतिशत की बढ़ोतरी हुई है। इस साल अबतक PUBG Mobile ने करीब 9731 करोड़ रुपये की कमाई की है।
ज़ाहिर है कि भारत के इस कदम से चीन नाराज़ है । भारत ने उसे उसी जगह पर सबसे ज्यादा चोट पहुंचाई है जहां उसे सबसे ज्यादा नुकसान हो सकता। उधर, पूर्वी लद्दाख में ग्राउंड जीरो से रिपोर्टिंग करते हुए इंडिया टीवी के डिफेंस एडिटर मनीष प्रसाद ने बताया है कि 29-30 अगस्त की दरम्यानी रात से अब तक चीन तीन बार LAC पर यथास्थिति बदलने की कोशिश कर चुका है। भारतीय सेना ने चीनी फौज की साजिश को 29-30 अगस्त की रात, 31 अगस्त और एक सितंबर को नाकाम कर दिया। भारतीय सेना के हाथों बार-बार पिटने के बाद चीन बौखलाया हुआ है। इसलिए बार-बार चीनी फौज LAC पर आक्रामकता दिखा रही है।
लद्दाख के ब्लैक टॉप, हेलमेट टॉप और रेछांग ला की सामरिक महत्व की ऊंचाइयों पर भारतीय सेना के नियंत्रण से चीन की फौज परेशान है। चीन ने बुधवार को चुशूल में ब्रिगेडियर लेवल की मीटिंग में इस मुद्दे को उठाया। चीन ने बार-बार भारत को इन तीन ठिकानों से पीछे हटने के लिए कहा। चीन की बौखलाहट की यही सबसे बड़ी वजह भी है, क्योंकि LAC पर कई अहम ठिकानों पर भारतीय सेना का दबदबा है।
इसी परेशानी के चलते चीन अब तक LAC विवाद पर छह बार बयान दे चुका है और भारतीय सेना से पीछे हटने की बात कह चुका है। लेकिन इस बार भारत का रुख बिल्कुल स्पष्ट है। अगर चीन LAC के पास यथस्थिति को नहीं मानेगा, तो भारतीय सेना भी अपनी सुरक्षा के लिए मजबूत कदम उठाएगी। चीन की बौखलाहट की एक वजह ये भी है कि भारतीय सेना ने ठीक वही किया है जो चीन ने पैन्गॉन्ग सो इलाके में कई फिंगर्स पर कब्जा करके किया था। भारतीय सेना ने साफ कहा है कि उसकी कार्रवाई आक्रामक नहीं है और न ही चीन को धमकाने के लिए किया जा रहा है। भारत का इरादा सिर्फ ये है कि हम चीन को अपनी ताकत का अहसास करा सकें और मजबूत कार्रवाई कर सकें। पैन्गॉन्ग सो के बाद चीन लगातार इस इलाके पर अपना दबदबा बनाये रखने की कोशिश में लगा था लेकिन चीन की साजिश को भांपते हुए भारतीय सेना ने LAC पर अपनी पोजीशन मजबूत कर ली। इस वक्त ब्लैक टॉप पर भारतीय सेना की मजबूत पकड़ है। ब्लैक टॉप पर कब्जा एक बड़ी सफलता है क्योंकि अब भारतीय सेना पैंगोंग लेक के पास चीन की हर गतिविधियों पर नजर रख सकती है। भारतीय सेना अब रेछांग ला से 4 किमी दूर रेछेन ला पर अपना दबदबा बनाना चाहती है। इसके बाद जमीन पर चीनी सैनिकों की गतिविधि पर नजर रखना आसान हो जाएगा।
कुल मिलाकर इस वक्त भारतीय सेना ने लद्दाख में LAC के पास 10 अहम ठिकानों पर अपनी स्थिति को मजबूत किया है। इन दस ठिकानों पर भारतीय सेना ने सतर्कता और सर्विलांस बढ़ाई है और चीन की तरफ से होनेवाली हर गतिविधि पर नज़र रखे हुए है। ये दस ठिकाने हैं – चुमार वैली, डेमचौक, पैन्गॉन्ग लेक, डेपसांग, गलवान, गोगरा, हॉटस्प्रिंग, दौलत बेग ओल्डी, चुशूल और रेंछन ला । भारतीय सेना की सतर्कता का ही नतीजा है कि चीन यहां पर घुसपैठ की अपनी साजिशों में बार-बार नाकाम हो रहा है।कल चुमार वैली में चीनी सेना की पांच से सात गाड़ियों ने भारत की तरफ बढ़ने की कोशिश की लेकिन भारतीय सेना ने मोर्चा संभाल लिया जिसके बाद सिर्फ दो घंटे के अंदर ही चीनी सेना को उल्टे पांव लौटना पड़ा था। भारतीय सेना की मजबूत स्थिति को चीन भी भांप गया है इसलिए इसबार दोनों सेनाओं के बीच आमने सामने टकराव की स्थिति नहीं बनी।
सिर्फ लद्दाख ही नहीं बल्कि उत्तराखंड, हिमाचल प्रदेश, नेपाल और भूटान से सटी सीमा पर भारतीय सेना ने अपनी स्थिति को मजबूत किया है। इन सभी इलाकों में ITBP और SSB की तैनाती बढ़ाई गई है। खासतौर से उत्तराखंड के उन इलाकों में जो चीन और नेपाल के बॉर्डर से सटे हुए हैं वहां निगरानी और मुस्तैदी बढ़ाई गई है। इसके अलावा सिक्किम का वो इलाक़ा जहां भूटान सीमा पर डोकलाम विवाद हुआ था, सैनिकों की तादाद बढ़ाई गई है।
असल में चीन के दोहरे चरित्र को अब पूरी दुनिया समझ चुकी हैं। चीन को जहां मौका मिलता है वो दूसरे देशों पर दबाव बनाकर, ताकत दिखाकर, जमीन पर कब्जा करने की कोशिश करता है। ये उसकी आदत है। चाहे वह वियतनाम, फिलीपींस, मलेशिया, ब्रुनेई के साथ दक्षिण चीन सागर विवाद हो या जापान के साथ सेनकाकू द्वीप विवाद, या फिर भारत के साथ लद्दाख और डोकलाम सीमा विवाद, चीन का असली चेहरा सामने आ चुका है। अब तक चीन की दादागिरी चलती आई है, लेकिन अब नहीं चलेगी। दक्षिण पूर्व एशियाई देशों, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, जापान और भारत चीन के इस रवैये को लेकर बेहद नाराज हैं।
अमेरिकी विदेश मंत्री माइक पोम्पिओ ने बुधवार को फॉक्स न्यूज से कहा- ‘पूरी दुनिया चीन के गलत रवैये के खिलाफ एकजुट होने लगी है और भारत, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, जापान और दक्षिण कोरिया जैसे देश हर मोर्चे पर चीन को पीछे धकेलने के लिए अमेरिका के साथ हाथ मिलाने जा रहे हैं।’
अमेरिका ने सार्वजनिक तौर पर चीन को रास्ते पर लाने के लिए हर तरह से भारत का साथ देने का ऐलान किया है।अमेरिका ने साफ किया है कि चीन को घेरने के लिए चार देशों ने QUAD ग्रुप बनाया है। इस ग्रुप में भारत के साथ अमेरिका, ऑस्ट्रेलिया और जापान हैं। हिंद-प्रशांत क्षेत्र में शांति और स्थिरता और चीन के बढ़ते सैन्य प्रभाव को रोकने के लिए इन देशों ने हाथ मिलाया है। QUAD देशों के मंत्री इस महीने के अंत में मुलाकात करने वाले हैं ताकि चीन को अपना तौर-तरीका बदलने या फिर नतीजा भुगतने का कड़ा संदेश दिया जा सके। QUAD ग्रुप को फाइव आईज समूह के देशों की भी मदद मिल रही है। फाइव आईज समूह में ऑस्ट्रेलिया, कनाडा, न्यूजीलैंड, ब्रिटेन और अमेरिका की गुप्तचर एजेंसियां शामिल हैं। इसलिए अब या तो चीन को संभलना होगा या फिर उसे संभाला जाएगा और सबक सिखाया जाएगा।
Why India hit China hard where it mattered the most
After wresting advantage in Pangong Lake area with the occupation of heights on the south bank of the lake in eastern Ladakh, India on Wednesday mounted a fresh strike on Chinese and Chinese-controlled aaps. The Telecom and IT ministry banned 118 apps, including PUBG, the world’s most lucrative mobile game, for engaging in activities “prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order.”
Earlier, India had banned 106 Chinese apps in retaliation over Chinese aggression in Galwan valley leading to bloody clashes in which 20 Indian jawans were martyred and an undisclosed number of Chinese soldiers were killed. Wednesday’s ban comes in the wake of fresh tension in Pangong Lake area, with the Chinese troops trying to forcibly alter the Line of Actual Control, which was prevented by the Indian army.
By one stroke, India has sent a tough message to China to say that it means business and it will reply to China in its own language. Experts said, China was trying to gather data about Indians through its apps and was also earning money. India has now decided to give lessons to China both on the defence and economic fronts.
Though PUBG mobile game is South Korean, yet it is largely controlled by China’s Tencent Games company which provides all the updated versions for this mobile game. Its server is in China. PUBG is one of the most popular online games in India. The game has been downloaded more than 17.5 crore times. One-fourth of PUBG users are in India. The number of PUBG users rose dramatically during the recent lockdown period, according to Sensor Tower, a data analytics firm. PUBG has made Rs 22,457 crore earnings till date, and compared to last year, its earnings rose this year by 41 per cent, a huge jump. This year, till now, PUBG Mobile has made $1.3 billion (Rs 9731 crore) earnings.
Naturally, China is going to be furious because India has hit it hard where it matters the most. On the defence front, in eastern Ladakh, India TV Defence Editor Manish Prasad has been reporting from Ground Zero. According to him, Chinese troops tried at least thrice to change the status quo of LAC since August 29 nigh. Their efforts to carry out incursions were rebuffed by Indian jawans on August 29, August 31 and September 1. The Chinese generals are predictably angry.
The Chinese PLA is worried over Indian troops occupying Black Top, Helmet Top and Rechang La heights, which are considered to be strategic. At the brigadier level meeting in Chushul on Wednesday, the Chinese side repeatedly asked Indian army to withdraw from these heights, but the Indian army held its ground.
So far, the Chinese officials have made six statements asking Indian troops to withdraw. Their impatience is understandable. Indian army has done the same trick which the Chinese army did while occupying several fingers of Pangong Tso lake. India has made it clear that its operation was not offensive nor was it meant to intimidate the other side. Indian jawans occupying the Black Top is a big success because they can now keep a watch on all Chinese activity across Pangong Lake. The Indian army now wants to dominae Rechen La, 4 km away from Rechang La. It will then be easy to monitor Chinese troops’ activity on the ground.
Overall, the Indian army presently dominates ten vital spots in Ladakh to keep a vigil over Chinese PLA activity. These spots are: Chumar valley, Demkok, Pangong Lake, Depsang, Galwan, Gogra, Hot Springs, Daulat Beg Oldie, Chushul and Rechang La. It is because of the alertness of our jawans that the Chinese army is unable to carry out treacherous incursions. On Tuesday, five to seven Chinese army vehicles tried to enter the Indian side of Chumar valley, but our alert jawans foiled their effort. The Chinese had to return after two hours. Chinese PLA officers have now realized that Indian army is a tough nut to crack, therefore there is no standoff situation at this moment.
Moreover, the Indian army has further strengthened its positions from Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh bordering China, till Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. More battalions of Indo-Tibetan Border Police and Seema Sashastra Bal have been brought in to guard our frontiers.
The world has now realized the duplicitous nature of the Chinese. Whether it is the South China Sea dispute with Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia and Brunei, or the Senkaku islands dispute with Japan, or the Ladakh and Dokalam border disputes with India, the Chinese are known for their treachery. They use force to create artificial islands in the sea to stake claims, or conduct devious incursions on land in Tibet and Dokalam. China’s Big Brother attitude is being resented by most of the South East Asian nations, Australia, Japan and India.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday told Fox News that the “entire world is beginning to unite against China’s unfair practices and countries like India, Australia, Japan and South Korea are going to partner with the US to push back China on every front.”
The Quad group formed between India, Australia, Japan and the US is working to prevent Chinese belligerence in the Asia-Pacific region. The Five Eyes intelligence alliance between the US, Canada, Australia, UK and New Zealand is also trying to help the Quad in reaching its objectives. Ministers from Quad countries are going to meet in person later this month to give a clear signal to China either to behave or face consequences. Time has come to teach China a lesson if it continues to remain belligerent and refuses to behave as a responsible nation.
सुशांत की मौत के मामले में कई नए मोड़ सामने आए हैं
ऐक्टर सुशांत सिंह राजपूत की मौत के मामले को एक नया मोड़ देते हुए मंगलवार को रिया चक्रवर्ती के वकील ने आरोप लगाया कि सुशांत की बहनें इंश्योरेंस क्लेम हासिल करने के लिए उनकी मौत को हत्या के मामले का रूप देने की कोशिश कर रही हैं। रिया के वकील का आरोप है कि सुशांत की बहनें ये जानती थीं कि सुशांत मेंटल डिप्रेशन से गुजर रहे हैं और वे उनकी संपत्ति हड़पने की साजिश रच रही थीं।
इस बीच सीबीआई ने बुधवार को दूसरे दिन भी रिया के माता-पिता से पूछताछ की। प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ED) ने मंगलवार को गौरव आर्य से ड्रग्स एंगल के बारे में पूछताछ की थी। नारकोटिक्स कन्ट्रोल ब्यूरो की पूछताछ में एक बड़े ड्रग पेडलर ने रिया के भाई शॉविक के साथ अपने रिश्तों को कबूल किया है। इससे रिया और उसके भाई की मुश्किलें बढ़ सकती हैं। हैरानी की बात ये है कि सुशांत की मौत के केस में ड्रग्स के एंगल से हो रही जांच पर फिलहाल NCB के DG राकेश अस्थाना खुद करीबी नजर रखे हुए हैं।
मंगलवार को रिया के वकील सतीश मानशिंदे ने एक इंटरव्यू में कहा, ‘यदि किसी शख्स के पास कोई बड़ी जीवन बीमा पॉलिसी है तो क्या उस पॉलिसी का लाभ लेने के लिए व्यक्ति की मौत को आत्महत्या या उसका कोई अन्य कारण घोषित नहीं किया जा सकता? घर में रहने वाले लोगों के बयानों से पता चलता है कि सुशांत के परिवार को लगातार जानकारी दी जा रही थी। शुरू से ही, जब दरवाजा खोला गया, दरवाजे को खटखटाने के निर्देश दिए गए, जब कमरे में लोग दाखिल हए और सुशांत की बॉडी को फंदे से झूलता हुआ पाया, आईपीएस ओपी सिंह भी निर्देश दे रहे थे। उनका परिवार सबकुछ जनता था। मैं आपको विश्वास दिलाता हूं कि उसने (रिया) घर छोड़ दिया क्योंकि सुशांत ने उसे ऐसा करने के लिए कहा था। रिया पर सुशांत के परिवार की ओर से दुर्भावनापूर्ण तरीके से आरोप लगाए जा रहे हैं।’
यह साफ है कि मानशिंदे अपने मुवक्किल को बचाने की पूरी कोशिश कर रहे हैं, क्योंकि उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि सुशांत की बहन ने सुशांत के लिए नकली प्रेस्क्रिप्शन बनवाए। मानशिंदे ने कहा, ‘रिकॉर्ड से यह पता चलता है कि परिवार को सुशांत के इलाज और दवा के बारे में 29 नवंबर, 2019 से पता था। श्रुति (मोदी) और सुशांत के परिवार के बीच प्रेस्किप्शन और दवाइयों को लेकर मैसेज का आदान-प्रदान किया जाता था। यह पता चला कि 8 जून, 2020 को जब रिया ने 12:30 के आसपास घर छोड़ा था, तब सुशांत अपनी बहनों के संपर्क में थे। प्रियंका ने मैसेज भेजकर सुशांत के स्वास्थ्य के बारे में पूछा था। पहले सुशांत ने उनसे कुछ दवाएं मांगी थीं। उन्होंने कुछ दवाओं के नाम भेजे, जिसके बारे में उसने कहा कि वे दवाएं बिना डॉक्टर के पर्चे के नहीं मिल सकतीं। जिसके बाद प्रियंका ने राम मनोहर लोहिया अस्पताल से प्रेस्क्रिप्शन मंगवाया और उन्हें भेजा। ये प्रेस्क्रिप्शन फर्जी है। इस प्रेस्क्रिप्शन में सुशांत को ओपीडी मरीज के रूप में दर्ज किया गया है। जो दवाएं उन्हें दी गईं वे नारकोटिक्स की धाराओं के अंतर्गत आती हैं। प्रेस्क्रिप्शन पर जो तारीख दर्ज है, उस दिन वह दिल्ली में नहीं थे।’
मानशिंदे ने कहा, ‘उन्होंने एक ऐसे डॉक्टर से प्रेस्किप्शन लिया हैं जिसने कभी सुशांत की जांच भी नहीं की। आप किसी शख्स को उसकी चल रही दवा के बारे में जानकारी लिए बिना दवाएं कैसे लिख सकते हैं? साथ ही उन्हें आउट पेशेंट के रूप में दिखाया जा रहा है। इसलिए यह साफ है कि सुशांत के परिवार की ओर से नकली कहानी गढ़ी गई है।’ मानशिंदे ने 25-26 नवंबर को वाटरस्टोन रिजॉर्ट में सुशांत और उनकी बहनों के बीच हुए झगड़े का भी जिक्र किया। इस झगड़े के दौरान सुशांत की तीनों बहनें मौजूद थीं। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि सुशांत की बहनें उन्हें मुंबई से दूर ले जाना चाहती थीं और उनकी संपत्ति हड़पना चाहती थीं। वकील के मुताबिक, सुशांत को इसके बारे में पता चल गया और इसके बाद उसका अपनी बहनों के साथ झगड़ा हुआ।
मानशिंदे का कहना है कि सुशांत ने अपनी बहनों के साथ चंडीगढ़ के लिए टिकट बुक किए थे, लेकिन झगड़े के बाद उन्होंने एक महीने के लिए रिया के साथ रहना छोड़ दिया और अपनी चंडीगढ़ यात्रा भी कैंसिल कर दी। मानशिंदे का दावा है कि वॉटरस्टोन रिजॉर्ट में एक स्टाफ मेंबर ने सुशांत की 3 बहनों की बात सुनी थी जो आपस में सुशांत की प्रॉपर्टी अपने नाम कराने की बात कह रही थीं। ये बात उस स्टॉफ ने सुशांत को बता दी। इसके बाद ही सुशांत ने चंड़ीगढ़ जाने से इंकार कर दिया। सुशांत का परिवार इस आरोप को खारिज करने के लिए अभी तक आगे नहीं आया है। मंगलवार को सुशांत की पूर्व मैनेजर श्रुति मोदी के वकील अशोक सरावगी ने आरोप लगाया कि सुशांत की बहनें जानती थीं कि वह ड्रग्स ले रहे थे और उनका इलाज चल रहा था। सुशांत के परिवार के सदस्यों या उनके वकीलों ने अशोक सरावगी के इस आरोप को भी अभी तक खारिज नहीं किया है।
मंगलवार को अपने प्राइम टाइम शो ‘आज की बात’ में हमने कुशल जावेरी के बयान दिखाए, जिन्होंने 2008 से टीवी सीरियल्स में सुशांत सिंह राजपूत के साथ ऐक्टिंग की थी। इन दोनों ने 3 साल तक ‘पवित्र रिश्ता’ नाम के सीरियल में साथ काम किया था। बाद में सुशांत ने टीवी सीरियल्स को छोड़कर बॉलीवुड में कदम रखा। सुशांत ने कुशल जावेरी को सीरियल छोड़कर अपने साथ काम करने के लिए बुलाया था। कुशल जावेरी ने बिहार पुलिस के जांचकर्ताओं को सुशांत के निजी जीवन के बारे में विस्तार से बताया था। हमारे पटना के रिपोर्टर नीतीश चंद्रा ने उनके वर्ड टू वर्ड स्टेटमेंट एक्सेस किया है और मैंने भी इस स्टेटमेंट को ध्यान से पढ़ा है। इससे दो या तीन बहुत बड़े तथ्य निकलकर सामने आए हैं।
पहला, कुशल ने जांचकर्ताओं को बताया कि सुशांत पिछले साल दिसंबर में अपने आर्थिक हालात को लेकर परेशान थे। उन्होंने श्रुति मोदी से अपना बैंक स्टेटमेंट मांगा था, जिसने रिया को फोन किया और रिया तुरंत भागकर घर वापस आ गई और सुशांत को दूसरी बातों में उलझा दिया और बैंक स्टेटमेंट की बात भुला दी गई।
दूसरा, कुशल ने खुलासा किया कि 2018 की शुरुआत में सुशांत के बैंक अकाउंट में लगभग 10 करोड़ रुपये थे। उसी साल सुशांत ने केरल और नागालैंड में बाढ़ राहत के लिए 2.25 करोड़ रुपये का डोनेट कर दिए। सुशांत ने 2 दिनों के लिए नागालैंड में बाढ़ प्रभावित इलाकों का दौरा भी किया। कुशल ने कहा कि उनके खाते में लगभग 8 करोड़ रुपये बचे थे, लेकिन साल के आखिर में अपनी थाईलैंड ट्रिप पर उन्होंने काफी पैसा खर्च किया था। कुशल ने खुलासा किया कि इन तमाम खर्चों के बावजूद सुशांत बेफिक्र थे। वह कहते थे कि वह आगे और पैसे कमा लेंगे।
तीसरा, कुशल जावेरी ने यह भी खुलासा किया कि मौत से एक दिन पहले 13 जून को सुशांत ने एक वीडियो कॉल पर रमेश तौरानी के लिए 2 फिल्में करने को लेकर सहमति जताई थी। कुशल ने कहा कि चूंकि बड़े निर्माता एक साथ 2 फिल्मों के लिए साइन करवाते हैं, इसलिए सुशांत के लिए यह डील 12-15 करोड़ रुपये की थी।
जावेरी ने बिहार पुलिस को यह भी बताया कि जब 8 जून को रिया घर छोड़कर गई, उसी रात दिशा सालियान ने खुदकुशी कर ली। जावेरी के मुताबिक, दिशा सालियन की आत्महत्या के बाद सुशांत परेशान हो गए क्योंकि न्यूज चैनल खबरें चला रहे थे कि सुशांत के एक्स-मैनेजर ने खुदकुशी कर ली। कुशल ने कहा कि सुशांत अक्सर दिशा सालियान से जुड़ी खबरें गूगल पर सर्च किया करते थे। उनके मुताबिक, सुशांत ने दीपेश और सिद्धार्थ पिठानी से रिया से संपर्क करने के लिए कहा, लेकिन उन्होंने बताया कि रिया ने उनका नंबर ब्लॉक कर दिया है। कुशल ने खुलासा किया कि रिया के साथ ब्रेकअप के बाद सुशांत अपने जीवन के आखिरी 15 दिनों में अपने पुराने दोस्तों के करीब आ गए थे। उन्होंने मार्च से दवाएं लेनी बंद कर दी थीं।
फिलहाल इस मामले को परिप्रेक्ष्य में रखते हैं। सुशांत के परिवार ने आरोप लगाया था कि रिया ने उनके बैंक अकाउंट्स से 15 करोड़ रुपये का गबन किया और या तो उनकी हत्या की साजिश रची या उन्हें खुदकुशी के लिए मजबूर किया। सुशांत के पिता ने पटना पुलिस के समक्ष अपनी प्राथमिकी में यह आरोप लगाया था। लेकिन सुशांत की हत्या या आत्महत्या के पीछे की मंशा क्या थी? रिया ने ऐसा क्यों किया? सुशांत के परिवार की तरफ से कोई भी इसका मोटिव एस्टेबलिश नहीं कर सका।
वहीं दूसरी तरफ, रिया के वकील सतीश मानशिंदे ने अपने वे सारे पत्ते खोल दिए जिनपर वह अदालत में मामले की बहस करने जा रहे हैं। उन्होंने ये साबित करने की कोशिश की कि सुशांत की मौत को आत्महत्या की बजाय हत्या साबित करने के पीछे क्या मकसद हो सकता है। उन्होंने कहा कि इंश्योरेंस का पैसा इसकी एक बड़ी वजह हो सकती है। यह एक गंभीर आरोप है।
दूसरी बात, सतीश मानेशिंदे ने कहा कि सुशांत के परिवार को उनकी बीमारी के बारे में पता था, बिना डॉक्टर्स को कन्सल्ट किए सुशांत को प्रतिबंधित दवाएं लेने की सलाह दी गई थी। मुंबई में बैठे मरीज की जांच किए बिना ही दिल्ली सरकार के एक डॉक्टर से नकली प्रेस्क्रिप्शन लिया गया। यह अपने आप में एक अपराध है।
मानशिंदे ने जोर देकर कहा कि 8 जून को रिया का सुशांत के साथ उसकी बहन को लेकर बहस हुई, और दोनों के बीच कोई झगड़ा नहीं हुआ था। 8 जून से 14 जून के बीच की घटनाओं के सीक्वेंस की अब ठीक से जांच की जानी चाहिए। इससे सुशांत की मौत के पीछे की सच्चाई लोगों के सामने आ जाएगी। मानशिंदे और श्रुति मोदी के वकील अशोक सरावगी, दोनों ही आरोप लगा रहे हैं कि सुशांत की बहनें उनकी संपत्ति हड़पना चाहती थीं।
जानकारों का कहना है कि पिछले 13 दिन से सीबीआई ने जो भी जांच की है उसमें अभी तक इस बात का कोई सबूत नहीं मिला कि सुशांत सिंह राजपूत की हत्या की गई थी। फिलहाल CBI ये पता लगाने की कोशिश कर रही है कि अगर सुशांत सिंह राजपूत ने आत्महत्या की तो इसकी वजह क्या थी? क्या किसी ने उन्हें खुदकुशी करने के लिए मजबूर किया था? या फिर उनकी आत्महत्या के पीछे की वजह उनका मेंटल डिप्रेशन था? यह भी पता लगाया जा रहा है कि क्या सुशांत की मौत का ड्रग्स से कोई कनेक्शन था?
इस मामले की जांच के दौरान ड्रग्स की बात बार-बार सामने आई है, लेकिन एक अच्छी बात यह हुई है कि पिछले कुछ दिनों में इस केस की वजह से मुंबई में ड्रग्स सप्लाई करने वाले माफिया पर नारकोटिक्स डिपार्टमेंट का शिकंजा कस गया है और वे सभी अंडरग्राउंड हो गए हैं। नारकोटिक्स विंग ने बड़ी मात्रा में ड्रग्स बरामद की है। कुछ खबरें ये भी मिली है कि बहुत सारी ड्रग्स समंदर में फेंक दी गई है। अब हमें उम्मीद करनी चाहिए कि सुशांत सिंह राजपूत के केस के बहाने अब मुंबई में ड्रग्स माफिया का सफाया होगा।
Sushant death case: New twists and turns
Giving a fresh twist to Sushant death case, lawyer of Rhea Chakraborty obliquely alleged on Tuesday that Sushant’s sisters were trying to project the actor’s death as a case of murder in order to get insurance claim benefits. Allegations were made that Sushant’s sisters knew about the actor suffering from mental depression and were plotting to grab his properties.
Meanwhile, CBI continued to question Rhea’s parents for the second day on Wednesday. Enforcement Directorate had questioned Gaurav Arya about the drugs angle on Tuesday. A drug peddler told Narcotics Control Bureau that he knew Rhea’s brother Showik, who used to consume drugs. NCB director-general Rakesh Asthana is personally monitoring this drug angle probe.
On Tuesday, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde in an interview asked: “If a person has a huge life insurance policy, will his death be declared a suicide or for some other reason to enjoy the benefits of the policy? Statements of the people residing in the house reveal that his family was continuously informed. Right from the time the door was opened to the time when instructions were given to knock out the door, to the time when they saw the body hanging; IPS O. P. Singh was giving instructions as well. His family knew everything. I assure you she (Rhea) left the house because Sushant had asked her to. Rhea is being maliciously accused by her family.”
Clearly, the lawyer is trying his best to defend his client, because Maneshinde made another allegation against Sushant’s sister obtaining a fake prescription for Sushant.
Maneshinde said, “The records say the family was aware of his medication as far back as November 29, 2019. There are exchange of messages between Shruti (Modi) and his family asking for prescriptions and medicines. It was revealed that on 8th of June, 2020, when Rhea left the house around 12:30, he was in touch with his sisters. Priyanka had sent the message asking about his health. Previously he had asked for the medicines from her. She sent a couple of names of medicines which he said he can’t get without a prescription. She procured the prescription from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and send it to him. This prescription is a bogus one. Sushant has been entered as an OPD patient. The medicines prescribed to him fell in the narcotics section. He was not in Delhi when this entry was found.”
The lawyer said, “They have provided prescriptions from a doctor who has not even examined him. How can you prescribe medicines to a new person without looking at the ongoing medication? Also, he is being shown as the outpatient in the department. Therefore, it is obvious, the story cooked by his family is fake.”
Maneshinde also mentioned about a quarrel between Sushant and his sisters at Waterstone resort on 25-26th November when all three sisters were present. He alleged that Sushant’s sisters wanted to take him away from Mumbai and grab his properties. According to the lawyer, Sushant came to know about this and he had a quarrel with his sisters.
Maneshinde says, Sushant had booked tickets with his sisters for Chandigarh, but after the quarrel he left to stay with Rhea for a month and cancelled his Chandigarh trip. Maneshinde claims that a staff member at the resort had overheard Sushant’s sisters talking among themselves how to grab his properties. The staff member informed Sushant about this and the actor cancelled his Chandigarh trip. Sushant’s family is yet to come out publicly to rebut this allegation.
On Tuesday, Sushant’s former manager Shruti Modi’s lawyer Ashok Saraogi alleged that Sushant’s sisters knew that the actor was taking drugs and was undergoing treatment. Sushant’s family members or their lawyers are yet to come out to rebut this allegation too.
In our prime time show ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ on Tuesday night we showed statements of Kushal Zaveri, who had acted with Sushant Singh Rajput in TV serials since 2008. Both had acted for three years in the serial ‘Pavitra Rishta’. Later Sushant left TV serials and worked in Bollywood. He asked Zaveri to work with him in films. Kushal Zaveri spoke extensively about his personal life to Bihar police investigators. Our Patna reporter Nitish Chandra accessed his detailed statement, and I have also gone through this statement. Two or three vital facts emerge.
One, Kushal told the investigators that Sushant was worried about his finances in December last year. He sought his bank statement from Shruti Modi, who in turn rang up Rhea, who immediately returned home and engaged Sushant in other talks and the bank statement was forgotten.
Two, Kushal revealed that in the beginning of 2018, there were nearly Rs 10 crore in Sushant’s bank account. The same year, Sushant donated Rs 2.25 crore for flood relief in Kerala and Nagaland. Sushant even visited flood-hit areas in Nagaland for two days. Kushal said, nearly Rs 8 crore was left in his account, but by the end of the year, he spent a lot on his pleasure trip to Thailand. Kushal revealed that despite huge expenses, Sushant was unperturbed. He used to say that he would earn more later.
Three, Kushal Zaveri revealed that on June 13, a day before he died, Sushant agreed to do two films for Ramesh Taurani on a video call. Kushal said, since big producers sign up for two films together, the deal was worth Rs 12-15 crore for the actor.
Zaveri also told Bihar police that on June 8, when Rhea left the house, Disha Salian committed suicide the same night. According to Zaveri, after Disha Salian’s suicide, Sushant became worried because news channels were running stories on Sushant’s ex-manager having committed suicide. Kushal said, Sushant used to frequently search Google on news relating to Disha Salian. According to him, Sushant asked Dipesh and Sidharth Pithani to contact Rhea, but they told him she had blocked his number. Kushal disclosed that after his break-up with Rhea, Sushant came closer to his old friends during the last 15 days of his life. He had stopped taking medicines since March.
Let me put the case, as of now, in perspective. Sushant’s family had alleged that Rhea misappropriated Rs 15 crore from Sushant’s accounts and either plotted his murder or forced him to commit suicide. Sushant’s father made this allegation in his FIR before Patna police. But what was the motive behind Sushant’s murder or abetment to suicide? Why did Rhea did so? Nobody from Sushant’s family side could establish the motive.
On the other hand, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde on Tuesday laid his cards on the table – the points on which he is going to argue the case in courts. He tried to bring a motive behind proving Sushant’s death as murder and not suicide. He said, collection of insurance claim could be one big reason. This is a serious allegation.
Secondly, Maneshinde said that Sushant’s family knew about his ailment, he was advised to take banned drugs without consulting a doctor. A fake prescription was procured from a Delhi government doctor without him examining the patient, sitting in Mumbai. This, in itself, is a crime.
Maneshinde insists that Rhea had an argument with Sushant on June 8 due to his sister, and there was no quarrel between her and Sushant. The sequence of events between June 8 and June 14 now needs to be properly investigated. This will bring the truth behind Sushant’s death before the public. Both Maneshinde and Shruti Modi’s lawyer Ashok Saraogi are alleging that Sushant’s sisters wanted to grab his properties.
Experts say that the probe that the CBI conducted for the last 13 days has not yielded a single piece of evidence to show that Sushant was murdered. The present line of investigation by CBI sleuths is to find out why Sushant, all of a sudden, committed suicide? Did anybody prod him to commit suicide? Or, was his mental depression the reason behind suicide? It is also being probed whether narcotics played a part in Sushant’s death.
In course of investigation, the drug angle cropped up too often, but one good fallout has been that in the last few day the Narcotics Control Bureau had tightened its screws around drug peddlers in Mumbai and they have all gone underground. There has been a big haul of narcotics in Mumbai recently. There are reports that a big quantity of drugs was disposed of in sea. One should hope that the drug mafia in Mumbai will be eliminated as a fallout of Sushant death case.
कांग्रेस के लिए बेहतर प्रधानमंत्री साबित हो सकते थे प्रणब दा
पूर्व राष्ट्रपति प्रणब मुखर्जी के निधन से देश ने एक ऐसे निष्ठावान दिग्गज को खो दिया जिसने अपनी योग्यता के बल पर एक साधारण पद से सर्वोच्च संवैधानिक पद तक का सफर तय कर लोगों के बीच काफी सम्मान अर्जित किया। प्रणब दा के बारे में कहा जाता है कि अनुशासन को लेकर वे बेहद सख्त थे। उनकी यादाश्त तीक्ष्ण थी और इतिहास, कानून, पार्लियामेंट्री प्रैक्टिस और राजनीति विज्ञान का उन्हें व्यापक ज्ञान था। वे भारतीय राजनीति के एनसाइक्लोपीडिया थे।
प्रणब मुखर्जी जमीन से उठकर आए थे। उनका जन्म पश्चिम बंगाल के एक गरीब परिवार में हुआ था। वे रोजाना दस किलोमीटर पैदल चल कर स्कूल जाते थे। वे पूरे पचास साल राजनीति में रहे। सियासत में प्रणब दा1967 में आए। उन्होंने अजय मुखर्जी की बांग्ला कांग्रेस ज्वाइन कर राजनीति की शुरुआत की। उसी दौरान तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री इंदिरा गांधी की नजर में वे आए और कांग्रेस पार्टी में शामिल हो गए। प्रणब दा 1969 में राज्यसभा के मेंबर बने और 2002 तक लगातार राज्यसभा में रहे। सिर्फ एक बार 2004 में उन्होंने लोकसभा का चुनाव लड़ा और जीत हासिल की।
वर्ष 2012 में देश प्रणब दा देश राष्ट्रपति बने और 2019 में नरेन्द्र मोदी की सरकार ने उन्हें देश के सर्वोच्च सम्मान ‘भारत रत्न’ से नवाजा। वाकई प्रणव मुखर्जी जैसे ज्ञानी व्य़क्ति को यह सम्मान देना, किसी सम्मान की प्रतिष्ठा को बढ़ाना था। प्रणब मुखर्जी जिंदगी भर कांग्रेस के नेता रहे लेकिन एक बार जब राष्ट्रपति के पद पर बैठे तो किसी पार्टी के नहीं रहे। नए विचारों, नए सुझावों और नए प्रयोगों को प्रणब दा हमेशा प्रोत्साहित करते थे।
वर्ष 2018 में जब प्रणब मुखर्जी को RSS के वार्षिक कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि के तौर पर नागपुर आने का न्योता दिया गया तो बड़ी चर्चा हुई। सियासी तूफान उठा, लेकिन प्रणब मुखर्जी नागपुर गए। उन्होंने राष्ट्र हित के मुद्दे पर अपनी बात कही और संघ प्रमुख की बात सुनी। अर्थव्यवस्था को कैसे मजबूत किया जाए, गरीबों के उत्थान के लिए सरकार क्या-क्या कर सकती है, इसके लिए उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के मार्गदर्शक की भूमिका भी निभाई।
सोमवार को जैसे ही प्रणब दा के निधन की खबर आई तो सबसे पहले प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने दुख व्यक्त किया। पीएम मोदी ने ट्वीटर पर शोक संदेश के साथ जो तस्वीर पोस्ट की, उसमें मोदी प्रणब मुखर्जी के पैर छूते दिख रहे हैं। ये छोटी बात नहीं है। इस तस्वीर से यह जाहिर है कि पीएम मोदी पूर्व राष्ट्रपति के प्रति कितना सम्मान का भाव रखते थे। प्रणब मुखर्जी जब राष्ट्रपति थे तब और जब पद से मुक्त हो गए तब….जब भी किसी मसले पर प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी को राय मशविरे की जरूरत होती थी तो प्रधानमंत्री का काफिला सीधे प्रणब मुखर्जी के घर की तरफ निकल जाता था।
मेरा नाता प्रणब दा से इमरजेंसी के बाद से था। इमरजेंसी खत्म होने के तुरंत बाद उनसे परिचय हुआ। प्रणब दा से जब भी मिलता था.. बातें करता था तो हमेशा कुछ न कुछ सीखने को मिलता था। ‘आपकी अदालत’ शो में प्रणब दा दो बार आए। मैंने उनसे तीखे सवाल पूछे लेकिन उन्होंने सीधे जबाव दिए। उन्होंने कभी इस बात का बुरा नहीं माना कि उलझाने वाले सवाल क्यों पूछते हो। वे हमेशा मुझसे कहते थे कि जो जनता जानना चाहती है, वो पूछना ही चाहिए। जब ‘आपकी अदालत’ शो के इक्कीस साल पूरे हुए उस समय प्रणब दा राष्ट्रपति थे और नरेन्द्र मोदी प्रधानमंत्री, दोनों इस विशेष आयोजन में शामिल हुए। इस मौके पर प्रणब दा ने सार्वजनिक तौर पर मुझसे जो कहा…वो मेरे कानों में आज भी गूंज रहा है।
राष्ट्रपति प्रणब मुखर्जी ने कहा, ‘रजत ने हमें बताया कि इस कार्यक्रम के जरिए वे अदालत में बहस करने के लिए बिना कानूनी डिग्री या बिना लाइसेंस वाले वकील बन गए हैं।’ उन्होंने कहा, ‘रजत, आपको देश के 125 करोड़ लोगों ने जनता का वकील बनाया है। इस रोल को कभी मत छोड़ना। आपको उन लोगों के खिलाफ मुकदमा चलाना चाहिए जिनके बारे में आपको यह पता चलता है कि उन्होंने कुछ गलत किया है, लोगों का अहित किया है, आम आदमी को नुकसान पहुंचाया है। मैं आपके कार्यक्रम की सफलता की कामना करता हूं और कृपया आप अपना रोल न बदलें। आप भारत की जनता के पब्लिक प्रॉस्क्यूटर (सरकारी वकील) हैं।
जो प्रणब दा से एक बार मिल लिया, जिसने उनके ज्ञान के सागर में गोता लगा लिया और जिसने उनसे कुछ सीख लिया वो जीवन भर प्रणब मुखर्जी को नहीं भूल सकता। प्रणब मुखर्जी के जीवन को कुछ शब्दों में समेटना संभव नहीं है। वो इंटलैक्चुअल थे, ज्ञान का भंडार थे, लेकिन सबसे ऊपर वो बेहतरीन इंसान थे। देश और समाज को बहुत अच्छी तरह समझते थे। वे देशभक्त थे और सबको साथ लेकर चलते थे। ‘सबका साथ, सबका विश्वास’ उन पर पूरी तरह फिट होता था।
प्रणब दा देश के राष्ट्रपति थे, लेकिन मेरे लिए वह हमेशा प्रणब दा ही रहे। देश की राजनीतिक घटनाओं के बारे में, देश की विदेश नीति के बारे में या फिर पार्लियामेंट मे हुई किसी चर्चा के बारे में या सरकार के किसी फैसले के बारे में कुछ भी जानना हो,जो कहीं न मिले तो प्रणब दा को फोन करो, सेकेन्ड्स में जबाव मिलता था।
चाहे कोई भी मंत्रालय हो, विदेश, रक्षा या फाइनेंस, प्रणब दा जिस मंत्रालय में भी रहे वहां उन्होंने अपनी अमिट छाप छोड़ी। प्रणब दा स्वतंत्र भारत के उन तीन नेताओं में एक थे जिनके पास तीन सीसीएस (सुरक्षा मामलों पर कैबिनेट समिति) पद रहे- वित्त, रक्षा और विदेश मंत्रालय। प्रणब दा के पास भारत के प्रधानमंत्री बनने की पूरी क्षमता थी। तीन बार ऐसे मौके आए जब कांग्रेस उन्हें प्रधानमंत्री बना सकती थी। लेकिन मुझे हमेशा इस बात का दुख रहेगा कि उन्हें देश का प्रधानमंत्री बनने का अवसर नहीं मिला।
प्रणब दा के पास पीएम बनने का पहला मौका 1984 में था जब इंदिरा गांधी की हत्या हुई। उस वक्त प्रणब मुखर्जी और राजीव गांधी दोनों बंगाल में थे। वे एक साथ दिल्ली लौट रहे थे। जब राजीव गांधी ने उनसे पूछा कि किसे प्रधानमंत्री बनाना चाहिए। प्रणब मुखर्जी ने कहा कि जो सबसे सीनियर कैबिनेट मंत्री है उसे प्रधानमंत्री बनना चाहिए। प्रणब मुखर्जी उस वक्त कैबिनेट में सबसे सीनियर मंत्री थे। राजीव गांधी को ये बात अच्छी नहीं लगी। उसी शाम राजीव गांधी को तत्कालीन राष्ट्रपति ज्ञानी जैल सिंह ने प्रधानमंत्री की शपथ दिलाई और प्रणब दा को कैबिनेट में जगह भी नहीं मिली। उसके बाद प्रणब मुखर्जी ने थोड़े दिन के लिए कांग्रेस छोड़ दी थी लेकिन फिर वो वापस आ गए।
दूसरी बार 1991 में प्रणब दा के पास पीएम बनने का अवसर आया। 1991 में राजीव गांधी की हत्या हुई उस समय गांधी परिवार ने प्रधानमंत्री पद की जिम्मेदारी पीवी नरसिम्हाराव को दी और प्रणब मुखर्जी को किनारे कर दिया। इसके बाद तीसरी बार जब 2004 में मौका आया तो सोनिया गांधी ने डॉक्टर मनमोहन सिंह को प्रधानमंत्री चुना। अगर प्रणब मुखर्जी को अवसर मिलता तो देश का और भी कल्याण होता। वो देश की प्रगति को एक नई दिशा दे सकते थे। उनका अनुभाव देश के बहुत काम आ सकता था और उन्होंने राष्ट्रपति बनने के बाद ये साबित करके दिखाया। उन्होंने जनता का प्यार हासिल किया। आज भले ही प्रणब दा हमारे बीच नहीं रहे लेकिन वो अनंत काल तक लोगों के दिलों में रहेंगे।
Pranab Da: Too smart for Congress to be PM
With the passing away of former President Pranab Mukherjee, the nation has lost a stalwart who, by sheer dint of merit, rose from common ranks to the highest constitutional position and earned the respect of his peers.
A strict disciplinarian, Pranab Da, as he was fondly called, had an elephantine memory and encyclopaedic knowledge about history, law, parliamentary practice, finance and political science.
Born in a poor family in West Bengal, he used to walk nearly 10 kilometres daily to attend school. Pranab Da remained in politics for 50 years. He entered politics by joining Ajoy Mukherjee’s Bangla Congress in 1967, caught the eye of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and joined Congress. He became a member of Rajya Sabha in 1969 and continued to remain member of the Upper House till 2002. In 2004, he contested Lok Sabha election from West Bengal and won.
The nation elected him President in 2012, and in 2019 the Modi government bestowed him with highest civilian honour, Bharat Ratna. To honour an erudite person like Pranab Da, is to enhance the prestige of this award. A Congressman to the core, Pranab Da left all political leanings after he became the President. He always used to encourage new ideas, new suggestions and fresh experiments.
In 2018, when Pranab Da was invited by the RSS to address its annual function in Nagpur, there was a political storm. Nevertheless he went to the event, heard the RSS chief speak, and expressed his opinion on issues of national interest. Pranab Da also guided Prime Minister Narendra Modi on how to strengthen the economy and work for the betterment of the poor.
On Monday, when news broke about Pranab Da’s passing away, Modi was among the first to react on Twitter. He posted a photograph of him touching the feet of Pranab Da. This image conveyed the extent of respect Modi had towards the former President. Whenever the PM needed guidance on any important matter, his cavalcade of cars always headed either to Rashtrapati Bhawan or to the former President’s house.
My first acquaintance with Pranab Da was soon after the Emergency was over. Whenever I met and talked with him, I always used to gain some knowledge from him. He was my guest in ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ show twice. I asked him some uncomfortable questions, but he never took umbrage. He always used to tell me, you should ask questions which the people want to ask. When ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ completed 21 years, Pranab Da attended the event as President, while Narendra Modi attended as Prime Minister. I still remember what Pranab Da told me publicly. Those words still ring in my ears.
He said, ‘Rajat told us that in this program, he became the prosecutor without having legal degree or licence to argue in court. That is not necessary Rajat, because 125 crore people of this country have appointed you as public prosecutor, and you should go on prosecuting the persons against whom you find something wrong has been done, interest of the people, interest of the common man has been harmed. I wish all success in your program, and please do not change your role. You be the public prosecutor of the people of India.’
Anyone who met Pranab Da never forgot the vast repertory of his knowledge. Anyone who learnt a small lesson from him, never forgot his contribution. An erudite intellectual and a repository of knowledge, he was, above all, a fine individual. He had a vast knowledge about the nation and society. A patriot to the core, he believed in taking everybody with him. The slogan ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas’ perfectly fitted his persona.
He was the nation’s president, but, for me, he always remained Pranab Da. Whether it was any political development, or foreign policy, any parliamentary debate or any government policy, if one had to learn important facts and nuggets, it was Pranab Da, who used to provide them in seconds, over telephone.
Pranab Da left his imprint on all key ministries that he headed – defence, finance and external affairs. He was one among only three leaders in post-independent India who held three CCS (Cabinet Committee on Security) positions: finance, defence and external affairs. He had the full potential of becoming India’s prime minister. He had this chance thrice, but I regret to say, he failed all the three times. The Congress simply failed in choosing him as the PM.
First, in 1984, soon after the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination, both Pranab Da and Rajiv Gandhi were on tour in West Bengal. Both were returning to Delhi together. Rajiv asked him who should become the PM, Pranab Da replied the seniormost minister in the Cabient should become the PM. Since Pranab Da was the seniormost Cabinet minister at that time, Rajiv Gandhi did not take this answer lightly. The same evening, Rajiv Gandhi was administered oath of PM by the then President Giani Zail Singh, and Pranab Da failed to find a place in his cabinet. Pranab Da left the Congress but later rejoined the party.
In 1991, Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated and the Gandhi family gave the Prime Minister post to P. V. Narasimha Rao, and sidelined Pranab Da. In 2004, when the Congress returned to power, Sonia Gandhi selected Dr. Manmohan Singh as PM. Had Pranab Da been made the PM, the nation could have benefitted more from his vast experience and he could have given a new direction to the nation’s progress. Pranab Da displayed his acumen when he was made the President. He was loved by the people. Pranab Da may not be among us today, but he will continue to remain in our memory forever.
