Indian National Congress has refused to sing the full version of ‘Vande Mataram’ song, which energized millions of freedom fighters during British rule. Home Minister Amit Shah described this decision as “anti-national”. He said, Congress Working Committee has taken “a surprising and anti-national decision”.

Shah said, “Congress party adopted a resolution in 1937 when the party decided to sing only two stanzas of Vande Mataram. I want to remind the entire country that in 1937, for Muslim appeasement, the Congress party laid the foundation for the partition of the country by dividing Vande Mataram into two. From there, the two-nation theory gained strength and eventually, the country was partitioned and Pakistan was born.” Shah said: “Today, when our government corrected that historical mistake by enacting law for singing the full version of Vande Mataram, Congress decided to reject it. This decision by Congress only confirms their extreme policy of vote bank appeasement.”

One thing is clear. The Muslim League’s stand was clear even before India got freedom. But one must try to understand why the Congress is confused over the national song. On the last day of monsoon session, the entire block of Congress MPs stood and joined the playing of the full version of Vande Mataram. Two Congress chief ministers, Revanth Reddy and Sukhbir Singh Sukhu are following the law enacted by Parliament on Vande Mataram, but the controversy began when Sonai Gandi objected to the playing of the full version of Vande Mataram at the Congress headquarters on Independence day.

The Congress now says, the party had decided way back in 1937 to sing only the first two stanzas of Vande Mataram. Congress wants to follow the path it chose 89 years ago but is unwilling to accept the law that was enacted by Parliament in 2026. Nobody should be surprised over this. The problem relates to vote bank. In the last three stanzas of Vande Mataram, Bharat Mata has been depicted as Goddess Durga and Goddess Lakshmi. The Muslim League had opposed this in 1937 and the Congress then bowed to its demand.

Now, the Congress feels that if it accepts the full version of Vande Mataram, Muslims will become unhappy. Congress has not changed but it does not want to admit its appeasement policy. Amit Shah has hit the raw nerve of Congress on this point. Naturally, Congress is restless and worried.

Champat Rai : His obstinacy is his problem

The former general secretary of Ram Mandir Trust in Ayodhya, Champat Rai, has become active again. Yesterday he circulated a nine-page letter in which he listed the steps that he had taken for transparency in the running of the temple. He made no mention of the theft of donation money but went into the nitty-gritty of how the temple was built and how it was managed. Champat Rai wrote that no cheque books were issued for the three bank accounts operated by the Trust and all payments were made online.

For internal audit, different firms were hired. No fee was charged for darshan, sewa, aarti and prasad. Everything was free. Champat Rai claimed that all rules were followed when he was the general secretary of the trust. He however mentioned the name of Nripendra Mishra, who headed the temple construction committee. He said all decision relating to construction were taken by Nripendra Mishra and the trust had no say in it.

Champat Rai has not become active suddenly. He was not sitting idle. For the last two weeks, he had been meeting sadhus and heads of monasteries and temples in Ayodhya. His associate Anil Mishra was also active. Champat Rai was waiting for the final SIT report. He knew that the SIT probe was confined to the theft of donation money and not about mismanagement. Naturally, he got the clean chit from SIT. Champat Rai made no mention of donation theft in his nine-page letter because he is not only projecting himself as innocent but also wants to convey that he was being unfairly nailed. Champat Rai’s obstinacy is his problem. He faced problems in the past because of his obstinacy and he is now heading on that path again.

Why Delhi Master Plan can’t be a success

The Centre yesterday unveiled Delhi Master Plan 2047. Urban Affairs and Housing Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said, Delhi’s population will swell to 3.2 crore by 2047, a jump of 80 lakh in 20 years. The MPD says, high-rise buildings will now be the norm and 40 lakh new flats will be built. Only areas surrounding Delhi Palam airport and Lutyens Zone will be kept free from high-rise buildings.

Buildings that are aged 50 years or more will now give way to high-rise buildings. In place of jhuggis, multi-storied buildings will be built and flats will be given to slum dwellers. Delhi’s biggest problem is: the city was originally built for a population of 70 to 80 lakhs. Now, more than 2.5 crore live in Delhi. The Master Plan says, population will cross 3 crore by 2047. Even if Delhi Metro is expanded, more buses are run and more flats are built, it will be inadequate to cater to the burgeoning population. Water and electricity is almost free in Delhi. People earn money by engaging in small jobs. That is why there is always a rush of more and more people from other parts of the country who come and stay in Delhi.

This is causing tremendous pressure on facilities that are available. Even Gurugram and Noida, which were built later as satellite towns, have now become overcrowded. So long as this problem is not solved, no master plan can succeed, even if it is prepared with good intentions.

जो ‘वंदे मातरम्’ स्वतन्त्रता संग्राम का नारा था, जो ‘वंदे मातरम्’ आजादी के दीवानों का तराना था, उस पूरे राष्ट्रगीत को कांग्रेस ने गाने से इंकार कर दिया. कांग्रेस के इस रुख को गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने देश को तोड़ने की साजिश, कांग्रेस की देशविरोधी मानसिकता का सबूत बताया. अमित शाह ने कहा कि कांग्रेस तुष्टीकरण के लिए किसी भी हद तक गिर सकती है और देश के लोगों को कांग्रेस का असली चेहरा पहचान लेना चाहिए.

कांग्रेस कार्य समिति की बैठक में बाकायदा प्रस्ताव पारित करके कहा गया कि भले ही संसद ने कानून बना दिया हो, भले ही राष्ट्रगीत का अपमान कानूनन जुर्म हो, लेकिन कांग्रेस के किसी भी कार्यक्रम में पूरा राष्ट्रगीत नहीं गाया जाएगा. कांग्रेस के कार्यकर्ता वंदे मातरम् के सिर्फ दो पैरा ही गाएंगे. मुस्लिम लीग का स्टैंड तो आजादी के पहले से साफ था. लेकिन वंदे मातरम् को लेकर कांग्रेस पार्टी इतनी confused क्यों है, ये समझने की जरूरत है. संसद के पिछले सत्र के आखिरी दिन पूरी कांग्रेस ने खड़े होकर पूरा वंदे मातरम् गाया. रेवंत रेड्डी और सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू दोनों कांग्रेस मुख्यमंत्री हैं. उन्होंने संसद में बने कानून का पालन किया और पूरा वंदे मातरम् गाया लेकिन सोनिया गांधी ने जब कांग्रेस मुख्यालय में पूरा वंदे मातरम् गाने पर नाराज़गी जताई, तो यहीं से विवाद शुरू हुआ.

अब कांग्रेस कह रही है कि 1937 में पार्टी ने फैसला किया था कि वंदे मातरम् के दो पैरा गाए जाएंगे. कांग्रेस आज भी 89 साल पहले की बात मानती है लेकिन 2026 में संसद में पूरा वंदे मातरम् गाने का जो कानून बना, उसे नहीं मानती. इसमें किसी को आश्चर्य नहीं होना चाहिए. समस्या वोट बैंक की है, वंदे मातरम् के बाद के तीन पैरे में भारत माता का वर्णन मां दुर्गा और मां लक्ष्मी के रूप में किया गया है. 1937 में मुस्लिम लीग ने उसका विरोध किया था. कांग्रेस ने तब मान लिया था. अब फिर से कांग्रेस को लगता है कि पूरा वंदे मातरम् गाया तो मुसलमान नाराज हो जाएंगे. कांग्रेस बदली नहीं है, पर तुष्टीकरण की इस बात को कबूल नहीं करना चाहती. अमित शाह ने यही बात कह कर जले पर नमक छिड़क दिया, कांग्रेस की दुखती रग पर हाथ रख दिया. इसीलिए कांग्रेस इतनी बेचैन और इतनी परेशान है.

चंपत राय की ज़िद ही उनकी समस्या है

अयोध्या के राम लला मंदिर में चढ़ावे की चोरी पर SIT की फाइनल रिपोर्ट आने के बाद ट्रस्ट के पूर्व महासचिव चंपत राय फिर सक्रिय हो गए हैं. चंपत राय ने 9 पन्नों की एक चिट्ठी जारी की. इसमें चंपत राय ने चढ़ावा चोरी से जुड़ी तो कोई बात नहीं की लेकिन मंदिर की व्यवस्था से लेकर मंदिर निर्माण तक हर अहम बात बताई. चंपत राय ने ट्रस्ट के तीन बैंक खातों की कोई चेकबुक इश्यू नहीं कराई. पारदर्शिता के लिए इन खातों से सारे भुगतान ऑनलाइन किए जाते हैं. इंटरनल ऑडिट भी अलग-अलग कंपनियों से कराई जाती है.

मंदिर में दर्शन, सेवा, आरती, प्रसाद सब फ्री है, भक्तों से पूजा की कोई दक्षिणा नहीं ली जाती. चंपत राय ने इशारों इशारों में ये कहने की कोशिश की कि जब वो ट्रस्ट के महासचिव थे उस वक्त सारे नियमों का पालन हुआ. इस चिट्ठी में चंपत राय ने सबसे ज्यादा नृपेंद्र मिश्रा का जिक्र किया. उन्होंने लिखा कि मंदिर निर्माण से जुड़े सारे फैसले नृपेंद्र मिश्रा लेते हैं, इसमें ट्रस्ट का दखल नहीं है. चंपत राय अचानक सक्रिय नहीं हुए. असल में वो खाली नहीं बैठे थे. पिछले दो हफ्ते से अयोध्या के मठों और मंदिरों में जा कर साधु संतों से मिल रहे थे. .उनके साथ अनिल मिश्रा भी सक्रिय थे.

चंपत राय को SIT रिपोर्ट का बेताबी से इंतजार था, क्योंकि उन्हें पता था कि SIT की जांच दान पात्र की राशि चोरी करने वालों को लेकर है, प्रबंधन में लापरवाही को लेकर नहीं. तो उन्हें क्लीन चिट मिलनी ही थी. कल जो चिट्ठी उन्होंने जारी की, उसमें चंपत राय ने बताया है कि वो हिसाब किताब के कितने पक्के हैं, उनके सारे accounts ठीक हैं, audited हैं, सारे टैक्स का भुगतान हो चुका है. लेकिन चंपत राय ने चढ़ावे में हुई चोरी का कहीं जिक्र नहीं किया क्योंकि वह न सिर्फ अपने आप को बेगुनाह मानते हैं बल्कि वो लोगों से ये कह रहे हैं कि उनके लोगों को बेकार में फंसाया गया. चंपत राय की यही ज़िद उनकी समस्या है. इसी कारण वह पहले परेशान हुए और अब फिर उसी रास्ते पर जा रहे हैं.

दिल्ली मास्टर प्लान क्यों कामयाब नहीं हो सकता

सरकार ने दिल्ली का मास्टर प्लान 2047 देश के सामने रखा. शहरी आवास मंत्री मनोहर लाल खट्टर ने कहा कि 2047 तक दिल्ली की आबादी तीन करोड़ बीस लाख होगी, बीस साल में 80 लाख लोग बढ़ जाएंगे, इसलिए अब दिल्ली में बहुमंज़िली इमारतें बनेंगी, 40 लाख नए फ्लैट बनाए जाएंगे. एयरपोर्ट के आसपास के इलाकों और लटयन्स जोन को छोड़कर दूसरे इलाकों में भवनों की ऊंचाई की सीमा बढ़ाई जाएगी.. 50 साल पुरानी इमारतों को गिरा कर नई बहुमंजिली इमारतें बनेंगी.

जिन इलाकों में झुग्गियां हैं, वहां बहुमंजिली इमारतों में फ्लैट बनेंगे. ये फ्लैट झुग्गी वालों को दिए जाएंगे. दिल्ली की सबसे बड़ी समस्या ये है कि जो शहर 70 से 80 लाख लोगों के लिए बना था, वहां इस समय ढाई करोड़ लोग रहते हैं और master plan कहता है कि ये आंकड़ा 2047 तक तीन करोड़ पार कर जाएगा. ऐसे में कितने भी फ्लैट्स बना लिए जाएं., मेट्रो को कितना भी बढ़ा दिया जाए, कितनी भी बसें चला ली जाएं, सब कम पड़ेंगे.

दिल्ली में पानी बिजली जैसी बहुत सारी चीजें फ्री हैं. यहां लोगों को छोटा-मोटा रोजगार आसानी से मिल जाता है, इसीलिए देश के हर कोने से बड़ी संख्या में लोग दिल्ली में आकर बसते हैं. इसीलिए शहर की हर सुविधा पर दबाव है. इन दबावों को कम करने के लिए दिल्ली के आसपास गुड़गांव और नोएडा जैसे जो शहर बनाए गए थे, वो भी अब भीड़भाड़ वाले शहर हो गये हैं. जब तक इस समस्या का हल नहीं निकाला जाएगा, तब तक कोई मास्टर प्लान कितनी भी अच्छी नीयत से बनाया गया हो, कामयाब नहीं हो सकता.

US ambassador to India Sergio Gor, during his visit to Kashmir Valley, has said, “Jammu and Kashmir is an important part of India and an incredibly beautiful place.” Those in the Pakistani establishment should understand this as a fact, but our neighbour has no intention of accepting this truth.

Pakistan Foreign Office yesterday summoned US Charge d’Affaires Natalie Baker and lodged a “strong demarche” over Sergio Gor’s remarks. Gor is also the Trump administration’s Special Envoy to South and Central Asia. “Pakistan strongly condemns and categorically rejects the characterization of Jammu and Kashmir as a ‘part of India’,” Pakistan Foreign Office said in a statement. “Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory”, it said. In Srinagar, Sergio Gor took a ‘shikara’ ride at the famous Dal Lake before meeting Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Later, Gor, at a joint media briefing with Omar Abdullah, said “New Delhi (Centre), the chief minister here, the government here, have taken some incredible steps to keep this area safer and making it more safe.” Gor said, “We will be looking at if the travel warning that is imposed and recommended by the US should be downgraded because Kashmir is a beautiful area. I think a lot of Americans would enjoy coming here and seeing the beauty and the opportunities that exist here.”

This is the first visit to the Valley by an American ambassador since ‘Operation Sindoor’ that followed the brutal Pakistan-sponsored terrorist massacre of tourists at Pahalgam. Sergio Gor’s remarks are significant and must be viewed in this context. Gor today visited Ladakh, the first visit by any foreign diplomat since the Galwan Valley clash with Chinese army. The American ambassador’s visit to Kashmir and Ladakh are important in the sense that his remarks send a clear message to China and Pakistan. Sergio Gor is considered as one of the close confidantes of President Donald Trump. He worked as Director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office before he was appointed envoy to India. Sergio Gor speaks frankly about President Trump. When he arrived in Delhi, he said, how the President used to ring him up at the odd hour of 2 am, but now that he is in Delhi, the time suits him because it is daytime in India.

When Sergio Gor came to India, there was unhappiness here over President Trump’s decisions and comments relating to high US tariff, restrictions on US work visas and Trump’s tilt towards Pakistan. Things changed gradually after Gor became ambassador. Diplomats say, Sergio Gor has redefined the role of US ambassador. For him to visit Kashmir Valley and say that the valley is safe and secure is a big thing. He has promised to review the US advisory warning to American tourists not to visit Kashmir. This is quite significant.

Need to reboot NTA’s system, make a fresh start

The Supreme Court has asked pointed questions to the Centre on the issue of paper leaks during NEET-UG exam. The bench of Justice P. S. Narasimha and Alok Aradhe said, merely framing rules will not do, the effects must be seen on exams. The bench asked, what is the use of setting up the Nandan Nilekani Committee, when Radhakrishnan Committee’s recommendations were not implemented. The apex court said, National Testing Agency (NTA) should learn from UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) which had been conducting examinations in a foolproof manner since decades. The court suggested that experts well conversant with new technologies must be inducted in NTA and experienced officials must not be transferred frequently. The court said, it will continue to keep a watch on NTA’s work as far as NEET exams are concerned. We cannot allow lakhs of students to face injustice, the bench said.

The government’s claim that NTA’s exam system is foolproof flies in the face of facts on the ground. If the system was foolproof, how did the leakages happen? A system may look good on paper, the SOPs may be perfect, but there have been several cases where NTA failed to keep its examination papers safe and secure. The question is not related to NEET paper leaks alone. The issue related to the entire system working in NTA. Wherever private operators were hired for holding exams, there were irregularities. Question papers were leaked, there were cases of cheating. The entire system needs a reboot. Any patchwork repair in NTA will not do. A fresh start has to be made.

अब अमेरिका ने भी कह दिया कि कश्मीर भारत का अभिन्न अंग है. अब पाकिस्तान को ये बात समझ में आ जानी चाहिए लेकिन ये सच मानने के लिए नीयत साफ होनी चाहिए,जो पाकिस्तान की नहीं है. भारत में अमेरिका के राजदूत सर्जियो गोर कश्मीर के दौरे पर पहुंचे. सर्जियो गोर ने कहा कि उन्हें यहां आकर महसूस हुआ कि कश्मीर वाकई जन्नत है, यहां की फिजा निराली है, माहौल खुशनुमा है, खूबसूरती बेमिसाल है और हर तरफ शान्ति है, कहीं कोई खौफ का माहौल नहीं. सर्जियो गोर जम्मू और कश्मीर के उपराज्यपाल मनोज सिन्हा और मुख्यमंत्री उमर अब्दुल्ला से मिले, श्रीनगर में सड़कों पर आम लोगों से मिले, शिकारा पर बैठकर डल झील की सैर की. सर्जियो गोर ने कहा कि मोदी सरकार ने कश्मीर को पहले से कहीं ज्यादा सुरक्षित बना दिया है, इसलिए अमेरिका जल्द ही अपने नागरिकों के लिए जारी की गई नेगेटिव ट्रेवल एडवाइज़री की समीक्षा करेगा.

ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के बाद पहली बार कोई अमेरिकी राजदूत कश्मीर गया. इसलिए उनका एक-एक बयान महत्वपूर्ण है. सर्जियो गोर आज लद्दाख गये. गलवान में चीनी सेना के साथ झड़प के बाद इस इलाके में किसी विदेशी राजदूत की ये पहली यात्रा है. सर्जियो गोर का ये दौरा कूटनीतिक नज़रिये से बेहद अहम है. पाकिस्तान और चीन के लिए एक साथ स्पष्ट संदेश है. सर्जियो गोर ने कश्मीर के बारे में जो कहा, इसका संदेश दूर तक जाएगा. सर्जियो गोर राष्ट्रपति ट्रंप के करीबी लोगों में से एक हैं. भारत आने से पहले वो ट्रंप के personal office की देखभाल करते थे. सर्जियो गोर भी राष्ट्रपति ट्रंप के बारे में खुल कर बातें करते हैं. वो जब दिल्ली आए थे तो बताया था कि राष्ट्रपति ट्रंप की आदत है रात को दो बजे phone करने की, लेकिन दिल्ली में उन्हें ये time suit करता है, क्योंकि तब यहां दिन होता है.

जिस समय सर्जियो गोर भारत आए थे, तब भारत राष्ट्रपति ट्रंप के कई फैसलों और बयानों को लेकर नाराज़ था. ट्रंप ने भारत पर ऊंचा टैरिफ लगा दिया, work visa पर पाबंदियां लगा दीं और पाकिस्तान को गोद में बिठा लिया. सर्जियो गोर के भारत आने के बाद ये सारी स्थितियां धीरे धीरे बदलने लगीं. राजनयिक कहते हैं कि सर्जियो गोर ने अमेरिकी राजदूत के रोल को पुनर्भाषित किया है, इसीलिए सर्जियो गोर का कश्मीर जाना और ये कहना कि कश्मीर सुरक्षित है और अमेरिकी सैलानियों की कश्मीर यात्रा पर जो पाबंदियां लगी हुई हैं, उनका वह फिर से आकलन करेंगे, ये बड़ी बात है.

NTA के पूरे सिस्टम को reboot करके नये सिरे से बनाया जाय

NEET-UG पेपर लीक के मुद्दे पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने सरकार से सख्त सवाल पूछे. कोर्ट ने कहा कि सिर्फ नियम बनाने से कुछ नहीं होगा, इसका असर परीक्षा में दिखना चाहिए. कोर्ट ने कहा कि जब सरकार ने राधाकृष्णन कमेटी की सिफारिशें अभी तक लागू नहीं की हैं तो फिर नंदन नीलेकणि कमेटी बनाने का क्या फायदा. जस्टिस पी.एस. नरसिम्हा और जस्टिस आलोक अराधे की बेंच ने कहा कि सिर्फ कागज़ों में अच्छे नियम बना देना काफ़ी नहीं होगा. परीक्षा प्रणाली में सुधार दिखने भी चाहिए.

कोर्ट ने कहा कि परीक्षा कैसे कराई जाएं, ये बात NTA को UPSC से सीखनी चाहिए, जो बिना किसी गड़बड़ी के दशकों से परीक्षा करा रहा है. कोर्ट ने कहा कि नई टेक्नोलॉजी समझने वाले अफसरों को NTA में शामिल किया जाए और अनुभवी अधिकारियों का बार-बार ट्रांसफर न किया जाए. कोर्ट ने कहा कि वो NEET परीक्षा पर NTA के काम की निगरानी करते रहेंगे, क्योंकि वो लाखों छात्रों के साथ अन्याय होते नहीं देख सकते. कोर्ट में सरकार का ये दावा कि NTA की परीक्षा प्रणाली foolproof है, बिलकुल बेकार की बात है. क्योंकि अगर system foolproof है, तो leakage कैसे हुआ? हो सकता है कि कागज पर बड़ा अच्छा system हो, हो सकता है कि जो Standard Operating Procedure बनाए गए हैं वो भी पक्के हों, लेकिन कई बार इस बात के सबूत मिले हैं कि NTA examination papers को सुरक्षित रखने में फेल हुई.

सवाल सिर्फ NEET पेपर लीक का नहीं है. सवाल NTA की पूरी प्रणाली का है. जहां-जहां private operators को परीक्षा कराने के काम में शामिल किया गया, वहीं गड़बड़ी हुई. पेपर्स लीक हुए, cheating हुई, इसीलिए पूरे के पूरे system को reboot करने की ज़रूरत है. NTA में repair work से काम नहीं चलेगा. इसको नए सिरे से बनाने की ज़रूरत है.

The Jharkhand student agitation ended today with the leaders announcing that they are postponing their movement for two months. Earlier, Jharkhand government issued eight notifications cancelling 44 recruitment exams conducted by JPSC and JSSC triggering fresh problems. All these exams were conducted by TDPL (TSR Data Processing Pvt Ltd), which is in the centre of controversy relating to mass-scale manipulations. Those selected in the exams and had been working in government have practically lost their jobs.

The latest cancellations have led to 1,975 youths losing their jobs. These youths have now started protests. Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s government is now in a fix. It is caught in a Catch-22 dilemma. If the government had discussed the matter with all stakeholders, this crisis could have been avoided. It is a good thing that student protests have forced governments to think seriously about education and examination system. Teachers are also with the students, but have advised caution. A school principal has given his views on Sunday in an English daily newspaper.

He wrote, we should teach children to disagree, but with respect. He says, disagreement is the pulse of a thinking mind. Where there is no disagreement, there cannot be growth, but the right to disagree must not be construed as the right to demean. The school principal said, the voices that emanated from Jantar Mantar had the power of genuine grievance. But the language that was used has caused harm to the objectives behind the protest. While demanding justice, words were spoken which tore morality to shreds. As a teacher, he says, to be respectful does not mean to be cowardly.

The leader of tomorrow will be identified not by the decibel of shouts. The leader’s identity shall be known only if he or she listens carefully and sincerely. We must tell children about rights and duties. We must understand that to be civil is not a weakness. I think what the teacher wrote applies not only to students, but also to leaders, to the judiciary and to the media. Everyone must understand that the right to disagree does not mean the right to demean. Instead of shouting, we should speak out politely.

US President Donald Trump has praised the Indian electoral system in his website Truth Social. Trump cited India’s voter identification system and low use of postal ballots to renew his call for the passage of the SAVE America Act, which would introduce stricter voting requirements in the United States. Trump said India’s Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar had recently questioned how elections could be conducted in the US without valid photo identification.

Trump wrote, 646 million people voted in India’s last general election, with less than one per cent voting by post, and that every voter was required to have a valid photo identity document. The SAVE America Act seeks to ensure that only US citizens participate in federal elections. We, in India, should be proud when the US President praises our electoral system. But I do not know why the Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera was upset. Khera tweeted: “Dear Donald Trump, Please take Gyanesh Kumar Gupta to America. And keep him there. We will send our EVMs too by the next available flight. For all the insults and bullying you’ve sent our way, this is the least we can do for you. To SIR With Love, from India.”

If Congress has a problem with EVMs and the Chief Election Commissioner, it is our domestic issue. Khera has the right to fight on this issue here, but what is the point of crying in front of the US? What good will it do to mock your own country?

Vande Mataram : Congress’ fresh antics

Congress party has announced that only the first two stanzas of the national song Vande Mataram will be sung at all party programmes in Congress-ruled states. Congressmen will not sing the national song in full. Congress leader B K Hariprasad explained that Vande Mataram will be played in full in government programs, but in party programs, only the first two stanzas will be played. Party president Mallikarjun Kharge said, Congress does not need lessons in patriotism from the BJP. “We will follow what Gandhiji and all other freedom fighters did. They sang only the first two stanzas. Will the BJP call them traitors?”

It has now come to notice that Vande Mataram was not played at a government function in Keralam, because the Congress-led UDF government has Indian Union Muslim League as its partner. IUML had been objecting to Vande Mataram since Day One. When Bankim Chandra Chatterjee wrote Vande Mataram, it became the song of our freedom fighters.

The song was written in praise of Bharat Mata. Bankim Babu never differentiated between Hindus and Muslims, but Muslim League had been opposing this song. That is why only the first two stanzas were sung. Now that Parliament has enacted law making singing of Vande Mataram full version as mandatory, how can it be opposed? It is beyond comprehension.

झारखंड में छात्रों ने दो महीने के लिए अपना आंदोलन स्थगित कर दिया. इससे पहले राज्य सरकार ने राज्य लोक सेवा आयोग और झारखंड स्टाफ सेलेक्शन कमिशन द्वारा कराई गई कुल 44 भर्ती परीक्षाओं को रद्द करते हुए आठ अधिसूचनाएं जारी की हैं. इनमें सिविल जज, सहायक प्रोफेसर, ड्रग इंस्पेक्टर, सहायक पब्लिक प्रोसीक्यूटर, फॉरेस्ट अफसर और डेंटिस्ट जैसी परीक्षाएं शामिल हैं. ये सारी परीक्षाएं TDPL (TSR Data Processing Pvt Ltd) ने कराई थी.

हेमंत सोरेन के इस फैसले से 1,975 नौजवानों की नौकरी चली गई, अब ये लोग सड़क पर आ गए हैं. झारखंड सरकार के फैसले के बाद बेरोजगार हुए नौजवानों ने प्रदर्शन शुरू कर दिया है. अब हेमंत सोरेन की सरकार दुविधा में है. इधर कुआं, उधर खाई वाली स्थिति है. ये अच्छी बात है कि छात्रों के आंदोलन ने सरकारों को शिक्षा और परीक्षा प्रणाली पर सोचने के लिए मजबूर कर दिया. शिक्षक भी इन मुद्दों पर छात्रों के साथ हैं, लेकिन सावधानी के साथ. रविवार को एक अंग्रेजी अखबार में एक स्कूल प्रिंसिपल ने बड़ी अच्छी बात लिखी.

उन्होंने लिखा कि हमें बच्चों को सिखाना चाहिए कि वो मतभेद जरूर करें, मगर सम्मान के साथ. उन्होंने कहा कि मतभेद एक सोचने वाले दिमाग की धड़कन होती है. जहां मतभेद नहीं होते, वहां growth नहीं होती लेकिन मतभेद के अधिकार को अपमानित करने का अधिकार नहीं माना जा सकता. उन्होंने लिखा, जंतर मंतर पर जो आवाज उठी, उसमें न्यायसंगत शिकायत की ताकत थी पर वहां जिस तरह की भाषा का इस्तेमाल किया गया, उसने प्रोटेस्ट के उद्देश्य की गरिमा को चोट पहुंचाई. न्याय की मांग करते करते शब्दों ने नैतिकता को तार-तार कर दिया.

उन्होंने एक शिक्षक के नाते कहा कि शिष्टता का मतलब कायरता नहीं होता. आने वाले कल के लीडर की पहचान इस बात से नहीं होनी चाहिए कि कौन कितनी ज़ोर से चिल्लाया. पहचान तो उनकी बनेगी जो ध्यान से सुनना और ईमानदारी से समझना सीखेंगे. हमें बच्चों को अपने अधिकारों के साथ-साथ उनके कर्तव्यों के बारे में भी बताना होगा. ये समझाना होगा कि शिष्टाचार का मतलब कमज़ोरी नहीं होता. मुझे लगता है कि शिक्षक ने जो कहा ये सिर्फ छात्रों पर लागू नहीं होता. ये हम सब पर लागू होता है – नेताओं को, न्यायपालिका को, मीडिया को – सबको ये बात समझनी चाहिए कि मतभेद के अधिकार को अपमानित करने का अधिकार नहीं माना जाना चाहिए. अपनी बात चिल्ला कर कहने की बजाय शालीनता से कहनी चाहिए.

ट्रंप ने तारीफ की, कांग्रेस को मिर्ची क्यों लगी?

अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप ने भारत की चुनाव प्रक्रिया और चुनाव आयोग की तारीफ की. ट्रंप ने ट्रूथ सोशल वेबसाइट पर लिखा कि अमेरिका को भारत से सीखना चाहिए. अमेरिका की चुनाव प्रणाली को भी भारत की तरह बनाना चाहिए. ट्रंप ने कहा कि भारत इतना बड़ा देश है, वहां करोड़ों वोटर्स हैं, हर वोटर के पास फोटो वाला वोटर आईडी कार्ड है, जो उसकी पहचान बताता है. ट्रंप ने कहा कि भारत में 2024 के चुनाव में 64 करोड़ साठ लाख से ज्यादा वोट पड़े. इनमें पोस्टल वोट्स की संख्या 1 परसेंट से भी कम थी.

ज्यादातर वोटर्स ने अपने वोटर आईडी कार्ड का इस्तेमाल करके वोट डाला. ट्रंप ने कहा कि अमेरिका में भी भारत की तरह सभी वोटर्स का आई-कार्ड और नागरिकता का प्रमाण होना चाहिए. उन्होंने भारत के मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार का जिक्र किया. कहा कि ज्ञानेश कुमार ने अमेरिकी अधिकारियों से पूछा था कि फोटो ID के बिना अमेरिका में चुनाव कैसे कराए जाते हैं. ट्रंप ने कहा कि ज्ञानेश कुमार का ये सवाल जायज है. अब जरूरी है कि अमेरिका की चुनाव प्रणाली को ज्यादा पारदर्शी और अचूक बनाया जाए. इसके लिए SAVE America Act को सपोर्ट करना जरूरी है.

अगर अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति ने भारत की चुनाव प्रणाली की तारीफ की तो हमें इस पर गर्व होना चाहिए. लेकिन पता नहीं कांग्रेस प्रवक्ता पवन खेड़ा को मिर्ची क्यों लगी? पवन खेड़ा ने ट्रंप को tag करके लिखा कि ज्ञानेश कुमार को वो अमेरिका ले जाएं और वहीं रख लें. फिर ये भी कहा कि हम अगली फ्लाइट से EVM भी भेज देंगे. अगर कांग्रेस को EVM से समस्या है, चुनाव आयुक्त से शिकायत है तो ये हमारा घरेलू मामला है. यहां इसको लेकर जितना लड़ना-भिड़ना है, वो करने का उन्हें पूरा हक है लेकिन अमेरिका के सामने रोने का क्या मतलब? अपने ही देश का मजाक उड़ाने से क्या फायदा होगा?

वंदे मातरम् : कांग्रेस का नया पैंतरा

कांग्रेस ने ऐलान कर दिया कि कांग्रेस शासित राज्यों में कांग्रेस के कार्यक्रमों में वंदे मातरम् के सिर्फ दो पैरा गाए जाएंगे. कांग्रेस के नेता पूरा वंदे मातरम् नहीं गाएंगे. कांग्रेस नेता बीके हरिप्रसाद ने कहा कि सरकारी कार्यक्रम में वो कानून मानेंगे वंदे मातरम पूरा गाएंगे, लेकिन उनकी पार्टी के जो भी प्रोग्राम होंगे, उसमें राष्ट्रगीत के सिर्फ दो छंद गाए जाएंगे. कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे ने कहा कि कांग्रेस को बीजेपी से देशप्रेम सीखने की जरूरत नहीं है, पिछले 90 साल से जो रीत चली आ रही है, वो उसका ही पालन करेंगे, गांधीजी से लेकर स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों ने वंदे मातरम के दो ही पैरा गाए थे, बीजेपी क्या उन्हें भी देशद्रोही कहेगी?

कल तक कांग्रेस कह रही थी कि झंडा फहराने से पहले पूरा वंदे मातरम् गाया गया. सोनिया गांधी ने वंदे मातरम् को आधे में नहीं रोका था. वह तो खरगे जी के लिए कुर्सी मांग रही थीं. लेकिन अब पता चला कि केरल में सरकारी समारोह में वंदे मातरम् नहीं गाया गया क्योंकि वहां कांग्रेस की सरकार में मुस्लिम लीग पार्टनर है और मुस्लिम लीग को पहले दिन से ही वंदे मातरम् पर आपत्ति है. बंकिम चंद्र चटर्जी ने जब वंदे मातरम् लिखा था तो ये स्वाधीनता की लड़ाई का तराना था, ये भारत मां की वंदना के रूप में लिखा गया था. बंकिम बाबू ने इसमें हिंदू-मुसलमान का फर्क नहीं देखा था लेकिन मुस्लिम लीग ने इसका विरोध किया तब भी तुष्टीकरण के लिए इसके सिर्फ 2 छंद गाए जाने लगे. अब तो संसद ने कानून बना दिया है और सबके लिए पूरा वंदे मातरम् गाना लाजिमी है. इसका विरोध कैसे किया जा सकता है, ये समझ से बाहर है.

बीजेपी अध्यक्ष बनने के सात महीने बाद नितिन नवीन की नई टीम का ऐलान हुआ. ये टीम उतनी नवीन नहीं है जितने वो नवीन हैं. इस टीम में पुराने अनुभवी नेताओं और युवाओं, दोनों को शामिल किया गया है. पुराने नेताओं में सबसे बड़ा नाम वसुंधरा राजे सिंधिया का है जो दो बार राजस्थान की मुख्यमंत्री रह चुकी हैं. वसुंधरा राजे चुनाव लड़ने-लड़ाने में माहिर हैं. दूसरा बड़ा नाम केंद्रीय मंत्री पीयूष गोयल का है. गोयल भी चुनावी रणनीति के अनुभवी खिलाड़ी हैं. उन्हें 12 साल बाद एक बार फिर कोषाध्यक्ष बनाया गया है.

किसी भी पार्टी में चुनाव के दौरान कोषाध्यक्ष की भूमिका बहुत अहम होती है. नई टीम आने वाले तीन साल में होने वाले चुनावों को ध्यान में रखकर बनाई गई है. दूसरा संकेत है, राज्यों में चुनाव जिताने वाले सुनील बंसल, विप्लव देब और विनोद तावड़े जैसे नेताओं को राष्ट्रीय स्तर की जिम्मेदारी. तीसरा संकेत है, सोशल मीडिया को पूरी तरह से revamp करके नए ज़माने के लोगों को जिम्मेदारी देना. आज कल चुनावी जंग शुरू होने से पहले सोशल मीडिया पर युद्ध शुरू हो जाता है. बीजेपी इस लड़ाई में पिछड़ने लगी थी.

कांग्रेस से आए अनिल एंटनी, रोहन गुप्ता, मनप्रीत सिंह बादल और आम आदमी पार्टी से आए संदीप पाठक को संगठन में पद देने का मतलब है कि दूसरी पार्टी से आए लोगों के लिए संगठन के दरवाजे अब बंद नहीं रहते. एक और खास बात ये है कि पहले के मुकाबले युवा नेताओं और महिलाओं को पार्टी के संगठन में ज्यादा जिम्मेदारियां दी गई हैं. पिछले 12 साल से नरेंद्र मोदी की सरकार का फोकस महिलाओं और युवाओं पर रहा है. अब इसका reflection पार्टी संगठन में भी दिखाई दे रहा है.

दिमागी नक्सली : हम उन्हें शहरों को जंगल नहीं बनाने देंगे

कांग्रेस नेता और पूर्व गृह मंत्री पी चिदंबरम ने कहा है कि उन्हें दिमागी नक्सल होने पर गर्व है. जम्मू कश्मीर की पूर्व सीएम महबूबा मुफ्ती, दिल्ली के पूर्व सीएम अरविन्द केजरीवाल ने भी खुद को दिमागी नक्सल बताया है. अब विपक्ष के तमाम नेता ‘दिमागी नक्सल’ शब्द का इस्तेमाल तमगे की तरह कर रहे हैं और प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी को घेरने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं. प्रधानमंत्री ने स्वतन्त्रता दिवस पर लाल किले की प्राचीर से कहा था कि कुछ दिमागी नक्सल देश को अराजकता की आग में धकेलने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं, वो मौके की तलाश में हैं. इन दिमागी नक्सलों से सावधान रहने की जरूरत है.

जंगल वाले नक्सल और शहर वाले नक्सल में फर्क होता है. जंगल वाला नक्सल बम, बंदूक से अराजकता फैलाता है और शहर वाला नक्सल modern tools का इस्तेमाल करके दिमाग से दंगा फैलाता है. जंगल वाला नक्सली ballot के बजाए बंदूक से सरकारें बदलने की कोशिश में लगा रहा, सफल नहीं हो पाया. अब दिमागी नक्सली EVM की बजाए सड़कों पर दंगा फसाद करा कर सरकार बदलने का सपना देखते हैं.

दिमागी नक्सली मतभेद के नाम पर दूसरों को अपमानित करने का लाइसेंस समझते हैं. वो संविधान का नाम लेकर संसद, न्यायपालिका, चुनाव आयोग, मीडिया जैसी हर संस्था को बदनाम करने में दिमाग लगाते हैं. असल में ऐसे लोग किसी का सम्मान नहीं करते. हर उस व्यक्ति को जिसे समाज हीरो मानता है, उसकी छवि धूमिल करने में ये जान लगा देते हैं. ऐसे लोग हर पार्टी में घुस गए हैं. ऐसे लोगों पर हर राजनीतिक दल को नज़र रखनी चाहिए. हम दिमागी नक्सलों को इस बात की इजाज़त नहीं दे सकते कि वो किसी शहर को जंगल में तब्दील कर दें.

वंदे मातरम् ने सोनिया गांधी को बेचैन क्यों कर दिया?

स्वतन्त्रता दिवस पर राष्ट्रगीत वंदे मातरम के अपमान के मुद्दे पर सोनिया गांधी और राहुल गांधी की मुश्किलें बढ़ सकती हैं. दिल्ली, भुवनेश्वर, मंगलुरू, और मुंबई में पुलिस से सोनिया गांधी और राहुल गांधी के खिलाफ शिकायत की गई है. दोनों के खिलाफ नए कानून के मुताबिक राष्ट्रगीत के अपमान का केस दर्ज करने की मांग की गई है. अब पुलिस इन शिकायतों की जांच कर रही है. 15 अगस्त को कांग्रेस दफ्तर में स्वतंत्रता दिवस पर वंदे मातरम गाया जा रहा था. इस दौरान सोनिया गांधी आसपास खड़े लोगों को कुछ इशारे करती दिखी.

आरोप है कि सोनिया गांधी ने वंदेमातरम को बीच में रोकने की कोशिश की. राहुल गांधी भी इस दौरान कुछ कहते हुए देखे गए. इसके वीडियो सामने आए तो बीजेपी नेताओं ने सोनिया गांधी और राहुल गांधी पर वार किया. गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने कहा कि वंदे मातरम के अपमान के लिए सोनिया गांधी को देश से माफी मांगनी चाहिए. कांग्रेस ने कहा कि सोनिया गांधी के बगल में मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे खड़े थे. खरगे की उम्र ज्यादा है, उन्हें इतनी देर तक खड़े होने में मुश्किल हो रही थी, इसीलिए सोनिया गांधी खरगे के लिए कुर्सी लाने को कह रही थीं. इसका वंदे मातरम के अपमान से कोई लेना देना नहीं है. पिछले हफ्ते गांधी परिवार ने दो बड़ी गलतियां कीं. पहली, राहुल गांधी ने स्टेज पर कॉमेडी की. मोदी के विदेशी नेताओं से गले मिलने का मज़ाक उड़ाया. इसमें इटली की पीएम जॉर्जिया मेलोनी को भी लपेट लिया. ऐसी हरकतों का damage control कोई PR agency नहीं कर सकती.

दूसरी गलती सोनिया गांधी ने की. जब वंदे मातरम् का चौथा छंद गाया जाने लगा, मां दुर्गा का नाम आया, तो उन्होंने अचानक आपा खो दिया. कैमरों के सामने सोनिया गांधी का वंदे मातरम् को रोकने का इशारा करना, कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष को टोकना, उनकी बनी बनाई छवि को damage कर गया. और फिर जिस तरह से जयराम रमेश और पवन खेड़ा ने इस पर पर्दा डालने की कोशिश की उसने तो और भी कबाड़ा कर दिया. किसी ने कहा कि सोनिया जी खरगे के लिए कुर्सी मांग रही थीं’. किसी ने रविंद्रनाथ टैगोर का नाम लेकर कहा कि, ‘कांग्रेस को राष्ट्रगीत के दो छंद ही गाने हैं’. लेकिन कहने वाले भी जानते हैं कि ये सब बहानेबाजी है. मुझे इसलिए आश्चर्य हुआ कि सरकार में रहते हुए और सरकार के बाहर सोनिया गांधी ने कभी शालीनता नहीं खोई. वंदे मातरम् ने उन्हें इतना बेचैन क्यों कर दिया? ये समझना मुश्किल है.

Seven months after becoming the BJP president, Nitin Nabin announced his team on Monday. The team is not new. It is a mix of old, experienced leaders and youths. The most experienced member of this team is Vasundhara Raje Scindia, who has been twice chief minister of Rajasthan. She is an old hand at fighting electoral battles. The second most experienced member is Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who has returned as party treasurer after a gap of 12 years. The role of a treasurer during elections is considered crucial.

There are three indicators: One, the new team has been formed keeping in view the elections that will take place in the next three years. Two, leaders like Sunil Bansal, Biplab Deb and Vinod Tawade, who were the key forces behind recent state election victories, have been given key responsibilities on a national level. Three, the party’s social media cell has undergone a complete revamp. Experts in new age social influencing have been given tasks. Nowadays, battles begin on social media much before the actual poll battles begin.

BJP was lagging behind in social media battles. Newcomers from Congress party like Anil Antony, Rohan Gupta, Manpreet Singh Badal, and Sandeep Pathak from Aam Aadmi Party have been given posts. The message has gone that the doors of BJP are never kept closed for those who join from other parties. This time, youths and women have been given more responsibilities in the party. The focus of Modi’s government has been on women and youths for the last 12 years. We are seeing the reflection of this in the new party set-up.

Dimaagi Naxals : We won’t allow them to turn cities into jungles

Senior Congress leader and former Home Minister P. Chidambaram on Monday tweeted, “I am proud to be a dimaagi naxal!”. Jammu and Kashmir former CM Mehbooba Mufti tweeted: “I support Article 370. I am a dimaagi naxal”. Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: “ Yes, I am a dimaagi naxal because I am a patriot. I am proud of it.” More opposition leaders have started using ‘dimagi naxal’ as a badge of honour and trying to corner Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In his Independence Day speech from Red Fort, Modi had mentioned ‘dimaagi naxal’. He was referring to the end of Maoist armed struggle. Modi said, “there are some ‘dimaagi naxals’ who are trying to push the country into anarchy. They are looking for the right moment. Beware of such dimaagi naxals.”

There is a difference between urban naxals and jungle naxals. The naxals in forests use guns, bombs to spready anarchy, while the urban naxals use modern tools to foment violence. The jungle naxals tried to overthrow government by guns instead of ballots, but failed. The dimaagi naxals are dreaming of overthrowing the government by resorting to street violence instead of EVMs. Dimaagi Naxals think they have the licence to demean anybody in the name of disagreement. By using the Constitution, they try to discredit institutions like Parliament, judiciary, election commission and media. In fact, such dimaagi naxals never respect others. They try to tarnish the image of the person who is considered a hero by society. Many such elements have infiltrated political parties. All parties should keep a watch on such people. We cannot allow dimaagi naxals to turn our cities into jungles.

Why ‘Vande Mataram’ full version made Sonia uncomfortable?

Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi may face problems for allegedly insulting the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ which was being played at the Congress party headquarters on Independence Day. Police complaints have been filed in Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Mangaluru and Mumbai against both Sonia Gandhi and her son. On August 15, while Independence Day was being celebrated at Congress headquarters, ‘vande mataram’ in full was being played. Sonia Gandhi was seen gesticulating to people and trying to stop the play of the song midway.

Rahul Gandhi was also seen saying something. When videos of this incident went viral, BJP leaders targeted both Sonia and Rahul alleging that they had insulted ‘Vande Mataram’ song. Home Minister Amit Shah demanded apology from Sonia Gandhi. Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh said, Sonia Gandhi was asking somebody to provide chair to Mallikarjun Kharge who was standing near her. Gandhi family has made two mistakes within a week. ‘ Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had, on stage, mimicked Prime Minister Modi hugging world statesmen, and in the process, mention was made of Italian PM Georgia Meloni. No PR agency can carry out damage control for such antics.

The second mistake was done by Sonia Gandhi when she intervened when the fourth stanza of ‘Vande Mataram’ was being played. Goddess Durga was being mentioned in this stanza. She lost her cool and gestured to people to stop playing the national song. This has damaged her carefully cultivated image. Jairam Ramesh and Pawan Khera tried to cover it up but they made a mess of things. Some leaders said, Sonia was asking for a chair for Kharge. Some quoted Rabindranath Tagore to say that Congressmen will sing only the first two stanzas of ‘Vande Mataram’. These are lame excuses. I was surprised because Sonia Gandhi, in and out of power, never lost her cool and dignified grace. Why did Vande Mataram make Sonia Gandhi worried? It is difficult to understand.

On Partition Horrors Remembrance Day (Aug 14), UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath led his ministers and party colleagues in a silent procession in Lucknow. It was to commemorate the death and displacement of lakhs of Hindus and Sikhs during 1947 Partition. Yogi said, Hindus and Sikhs were killed in lakhs by rioters, but Congress leaders, in their lust for power, remained silent. Yogi said, the basic character of Congress has not changed. He said, if he had not been in power in UP, Congress and Samajwadi Party could have engineered communal riots in UP during the CAA agitation.

Yogi said, had there been a leader of Narendra Modi’s mettle during 1947, India would not have been partitioned and lives of lakhs of Indians could have been saved. Yogi has to face assembly elections early next year and he is already in campaign mode. He is facing two challenges with whom he does not have a direct connect. First, the theft of crores of money from the Ram Mandir donation boxes. Akhilesh Yadav and his party tried their best to raise this issue during Parliament’s monsoon session. Secondly, the GenZ students protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, which Rahul Gandhi is trying his utmost to make it an issue. Both these issues are going to be reflected in the UP assembly elections.

Yogi is targeting both these issues in his campaign. He reminded people that the Samajwadi Party leaders, who are now speaking about donation theft and Lord Ram, are “late arrivals”. They are actually “Babri bhakts” (devotees), he said. As far as Ram mandir, Sanatan dharma and Bajrangbali issues are concerned, Yogi is several steps ahead of Akhilesh Yadav. On the GenZ protest issue, Yogi is not going to face much of a challenge because the Congress party lacks mass base in UP. The GenZ show that Rahul Gandhi addressed in Prayagraj had no impact on the ground. The biggest advantage that Yogi has, is his personal connect with the youths of UP. Improvement in law and order and the projection of Yogi as protector of Hindus have become his big advantage.

Why is Rajnath angry with Rahul?

Normally, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh always keeps his cool and he avoids wading into controversial issues. But on Friday, Rajnath Singh lashed out at Rahul Gandhi for what he called, his mimicry and antics to denigrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi. One Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit made an insulting reference about Italy’s prime minister Giorgia Meloni.

Rajnath Singh said, Rahul Gandhi has crossed all limits and he has become a threat to democracy. He said, the fact that a leader with the surname Gandhi can stoop to such a low, is really shameful. Singh said, Congress leaders should get a mental checkup done for Rahul. I have seen Rajnath Singh angry for the first time in public. It seems Rahul’s comments and antics have hurt him badly. There could be two reasons. One, a person holding the post of Leader of Opposition mimicking the Prime Minister of India, is really an embarrassment. Two, Rajnath Singh feels, it is sad that the member of a family that ruled India for a long period, which had leaders of the stature of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, is now resorting to cheap antics.

Rajnath Singh has a reputation of maintaining decency in public life. He never made any remarks which could hurt his rivals. I do not think it will have any impact on Rahul Gandhi. He will continue with his antics. In the past, he had tendered apology in court, and then went on to do the same act again. He had to face embarrassment in Parliament several times. On Friday, the Speaker admitted a privilege motion notice from Anurag Thakur and Sanjay Jaiswal. Rahul Gandhi will have to reply by August 28. If the reply is not found satisfactory, action can be taken against him.

Who is Manan Mishra to dictate to students?

The Chief Justice of India snubbed Bar Council of India president Manan Mishra for issuing a circular asking state bar councils not to enrol 2026 graduate students from NALSAR University, Hyderabad, as advocates. Chief Justice Surya Kant said, the matter is between NALSAR university students and the CJI, and the Bar Council has no business interfering. After an outcry on social media, the Bar Council chief hurriedly withdrew his circular.

What Manan Mishra did was illegal, immoral and objectionable. A Supreme Court lawyer should at least have the knowledge on how to react when such issues arise. He misused his position as Bar Council of India chief. It is a good thing that he withdrew his circular immediately after good sense prevailed.

विभाजन विभीषिका दिवस पर उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने उन लाखों भारतीयों को याद किया जो 79 साल पहले देश विभाजन के समय दंगों में मारे गये थे. योगी अपने मंत्रियों के साथ लखनऊ में एक मौन जुलूस में शामिल हुए. योगी ने कहा, बंटवारे के वक्त दंगों में हिन्दू और सिख कटते रहे और सत्ता के लालच में कांग्रेस के नेताओं ने जुबान नहीं खोली. योगी ने कहा, कांग्रेस का चरित्र अभी भी नहीं बदला है.

योगी ने कहा, अगर यूपी में उनकी सरकार नहीं होती, तो CAA के नाम पर कांग्रेस और समाजवादी पार्टी यूपी को दंगों की आग में झोंक देते. योगी ने कहा, अगर आजादी के वक्त नरेन्द्र मोदी जैसा कोई व्यक्ति देश का नेता होता, तो न विभाजन होता, न दंगे झेलने पड़ते. योगी के सामने उत्तर प्रदेश का चुनाव है और वो दो ऐसी समस्याओं का का सामना कर रहे हैं जिनसे उनका कोई सीधा संबंध नहीं है. पहली, राम मंदिर के दान पात्र में से चुराई गई राशि जिसे अखिलेश यादव पूरी शक्ति के साथ मुद्दा बनाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं और दूसरी, दिल्ली में जंतर-मंतर पर हुआ Gen Z का आंदोलन, जिसे राहुल गांधी पूरी ताकत के साथ मुद्दा बनाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं. इन दोनों का असर उत्तर प्रदेश के चुनाव पर पड़ सकता है. इसीलिए योगी ने जो कहा, वो इन दोनों मुद्दों को टारगेट करते हुए कहा.

राम मंदिर के मामले में योगी ने लोगों को याद दिलाया कि प्रभु राम और बजरंगबली की बात करने वाले समाजवादी पार्टी के लोग late arrival के दोषी हैं, वो तो बाबरी भक्त हैं. जहां तक राम मंदिर, सनातन धर्म, बजरंगबली का संबंध है, योगी इसमें अखिलेश से कई कदम आगे हैं. Gen Z के सवाल पर योगी आदित्यनाथ को खास दिक्कत नहीं होगी क्योंकि उत्तर प्रदेश में कांग्रेस का कोई खास जनाधार नहीं है. राहुल गांधी ने प्रयागराज में जो शो किया था, उसका भी ज़मीन पर कोई खास असर दिखाई नहीं दिया. सबसे बड़ी बात ये है कि योगी का उत्तर प्रदेश के नौजवानों के साथ एक personal connect है. कानून और व्यवस्था में सुधार के कारण और हिंदुत्व के protector होने के कारण इस मामले में भी योगी का advantage है.

राजनाथ सिंह को राहुल पर गुस्सा क्यों आया?

रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह आम तौर पर कभी गुस्से में नजर नहीं आते, लेकिन शुक्रवार को वह गुस्से में नजर आए. वजह थी, राहुल गांधी ने जिस तरह से प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी का मिमिक्री करते हुए मजाक उड़ाया और मंच पर संदीप दीक्षित ने इटली की प्रधानमंत्री मेलोनी का नाम लेकर भद्दा मजाक किया. इसकी आलोचना पूरे देश में हो रही है. राजनाथ सिंह ने कहा, राहुल गांधी ने अब हद पार कर दी है, वह देश के लोकतन्त्र के लिए खतरा बन गए हैं, जिस व्यक्ति के नाम के आगे गांधी लिखा हो, वह इस तरह की ओछी हरकत करे, ये देख कर शर्म आती है, कांग्रेस के बड़े नेताओं को राहुल गांधी के दिमाग की जांच करानी चाहिए.

मैंने पहली बार राजनाथ सिंह को इतने गुस्से में देखा है. वह आम तौर पर किसी विवाद में नहीं फंसते, किसी विवादास्पद बात पर कमेंट नहीं करते. लेकिन उनकी बात सुनकर लगा कि राहुल गांधी के व्यवहार ने उन्हें बहुत आहत किया है. इसके दो कारण हैं. एक तो नेता विपक्ष के पद पर रहते हुए राहुल गांधी ने प्रधानमंत्री मोदी का और विदेश नीति का जिस अंदाज में मजाक उड़ाया, उसने राजनाथ सिंह को परेशान किया. दूसरी वजह ये कि राजनाथ सिंह को लगता है कि जिस परिवार ने इतने साल देश पर राज किया, जिस परिवार में इंदिरा गांधी और राजीव गांधी जैसे नेता रहे, उस परिवार का कोई सदस्य इस तरह की ओछी हरकत करे, तो दुख होना स्वाभाविक है.

राजनाथ सिंह का ये कहना बनता भी है क्योंकि उन्होंने स्वयं सार्वजनिक जीवन में हमेशा शालीनता का परिचय दिया है और कभी भी कोई ऐसा बयान नहीं दिया जो किसी को आहत करे. लेकिन राहुल गांधी पर इसका कोई असर होगा. इसकी उम्मीद कम ही है. वो पहले भी इस तरह की हरकतें कर चुके हैं, कोर्ट में माफी मांगते हैं और फिर वही काम करने लगते हैं. कई बार संसद में भी शर्मिंदगी झेल चुके हैं. कल ही स्पीकर ने राहुल गांधी के खिलाफ privilege motion स्वीकार कर लिया. अनुराग ठाकुर और संजय जायसवाल के नोटिस पर राहुल गांधी को 28 अगस्त तक जवाब देना है. अगर जवाब संतोषजनक न हुआ,तो उनके खिलाफ कार्रवाई होगी.

मनन मिश्रा होते कौन हैं छात्रों पर रोक लगाने वाले?

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने बार काउंसिल के अध्यक्ष मनन मिश्रा को फटकारा. मुख्य न्यायाधीश सूर्यकांत ने कहा कि बार काउंसिल को छात्रों और सुप्रीम कोर्ट के बीच के मामलों में टांग अड़ाने की जरूरत नहीं है. गुरुवार को बार काउंसिल ऑफ इंडिया ने सभी स्टेट बार काउंसिलों को एक सर्कुलर जारी किया, इसमें निर्देश दिया गया कि हैदराबाद की नालसर यूनिवर्सिटी के 2026 बैच के किसी भी लॉ ग्रेजुएट को अगले आदेश तक वकील के तौर पर एनरोल न किया जाए. इस फैसले की जबरदस्त आलोचना हुई.

बार काउंसिल अध्यक्ष को कुछ ही घंटों में अपना आदेश वापस लेना पड़ा. मनन मिश्रा ने जो किया, वो गलत है, गैरकानूनी है, अनैतिक है, सुप्रीम कोर्ट के एक वकील को इतनी समझ तो होनी चाहिए. उन्होंने Bar Council में अपनी position का बेजा इस्तेमाल किया. अच्छी बात ये है कि समय रहते उन्हें अक्ल आ गई और उन्होंने अपने फैसले को वापस लिया.

The monsoon session of Parliament was a washout. More than 80 per cent of its time wasted by the opposition. Nearly Rs 142 crore from the public exchequer went waste. The government got its legislative business done sans any debate. Both Houses were supposed to work for 114 hours. In Lok Sabha, more than 96 hours were wasted due to pandemonium, while in Rajya Sabha 77 hours were wasted. It was all because of consistent protests by Opposition members in both Houses.

What happened during the last 20 days in Parliament was indeed shameful. It reached its nadir on the last day when Congress members displayed soft monkey toys and shouted offensive slogans against Modi, which were last heard at Jantar Mantar. If the opposition parties think that they have scored a big victory by stalling Parliament, they are mistaken. Whenever Parliament functions normally, it is the opposition, whose members gain. They can question and corner ministers. The opposition members can point out infirmities or discrepancies in bills brought by the government.

Just imagine: What did the government lose? It got its bills passed without a semblance of debate. Twelve bills were passed and ministers did not face uncomfortable questions. The losers were the opposition members. Question Hour is used by members from both sides to ask probing questions about their constituencies and states. In the process, they apply pressure on the ministers and get their work done. Ruling party members get work done in their constituencies because ministers belong to their party. But what will opposition members reply to their voters once they return? Every individual member of Parliament has this feeling. If opposition members think that they forced Amit Shah to stay away from replying inside the House, they are mistaken. Amit Shah threw an open challenge on the penultimate day of the session. He took the wind out of the sails of the opposition. To sum it up, I have a Hindi proverb ‘Maya Mili Na Ram’( you lost both ways). The opposition lost its plot by stalling Parliament.

Rahul Gandhi: Is his frustration becoming bitter?

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has a different view. He considers the stalling of Parliament as a big victory. At a Congress program, the Leader of Opposition said, he has “made life difficult for both Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. Both of them will spend sleepless nights till they lose their chair”. Rahul did a comedy skit on the dais by hugging Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit. Rahul Gandhi said, Prime Minister Modi has this habit of hugging world leaders whenever he visits their countries. “Modi thinks that hugging is part of sound diplomacy”, he said.

Nobody is surprised when Rahul Gandhi makes fun of the Prime Minister. In the last 12 years, He had used epithets like “thief”, “coward”, “trembling” for Modi. He has now included Amit Shah in his list. Rahul Gandhi knows, both Modi and Amit Shah have an aura. He even suspects that some of his own party leaders fear both Modi and Shah. Rahul knows so long as Modi and Shah’s image among the people remain intact, he cannot harm them. Use of street-level, denigratory words for Modi and Shah, delivery of dialogues like “paagal kar doonga” is the result of such a mindset. The fact, however, is Modi’s popularity has defeated Rahul Gandhi thrice in Lok Sabha elections.

Today there are NDA governments in 22 states. Before every election, Rahul blusters, saying “Likh kar le lo, Is baar Modi Ko Harayenge” (Take it from me in writing, we will defeat Modi this time). And every time, the result is the opposite. This level of frustration has turned bitter. It is normal. In our country, the common man does not like leaders who use insulting words and abuses. This is the reason why BJP leaders say, the more bitter Rahul speaks, Modi is the beneficiary. Several BJP leaders told me personally that Rahul is the biggest friend, the best campaigner for the party. So long as the command of Congress party remains in the hands of Rahul Gandhi, BJP has nothing to worry.

संसद का मॉनसून सत्र खत्म हो गया. सत्र का 80 परसेंट वक्त विपक्ष के हंगामे की वजह से बर्बाद हुआ. जनता की गाढ़ी कमाई के 142 करोड़ रुपये पानी में चले गए. सरकार को अपना कामकाज निपटाना था, वह तो हो गया, लेकिन विधेयकों पर चर्चा नहीं हो पाई. दोनों सदनों की कार्यवाही 114 घंटे चलनी थी, लेकिन लोकसभा में 96 घंटे से ज्यादा का वक्त हंगामे में बर्बाद हो गया. राज्यसभा में 77 घंटे हंगामा होता रहा. विपक्ष की वजह से मॉनसून सत्र वॉशआउट हो गया.

पिछले बीस दिन में विरोध के नाम पर जिस तरह की हरकतें की गईं, वो भी शर्मनाक हैं. अंतिम दिन कांग्रेस के सांसद मदारी बन गए, monkey soft toys लेकर संसद पहुंचे, मोदी के खिलाफ उसी तरह की नारेबाजी की, जैसी जंतर मंतर पर हुई थी. अगर विपक्ष के नेताओं को लगता है कि 19 दिन तक लोकसभा की कार्यवाही रोक कर उन्होंने किला फतह कर लिया, तो ये उनकी गलतफहमी है. संसद की कार्यवाही ठीक से चले, इसमें विपक्ष का ज्यादा फायदा होता है. सरकार से कड़वे सवाल पूछे जा सकते हैं. मंत्रियों को corner किया जा सकता है. जो बिल सरकार लाती है, उनकी कमियों को विपक्ष उजागर कर सकता है. सोचिए कि सरकार का क्या गया ? जो बिल पास कराने थे, वो बिना बहस के पास करा लिए. 12 बिल पास हुए और मंत्रियों को असुविधाजनक सवालों के जवाब नहीं देने पड़े.

विपक्ष के सांसदों का भी भारी नुकसान हुआ. संसद में प्रश्नकाल के दौरान सांसद अपने चुनाव क्षेत्र से जुड़े सवाल उठाते हैं, थोड़ा दबाव बना कर मंत्रियों से काम करवा लेते हैं. सत्ता पक्ष के सांसद तो अपने चुनाव क्षेत्र के काम वैसे भी करवा सकते हैं क्योंकि जितने भी मंत्री हैं वो उन्हीं की पार्टियों के हैं. लेकिन अब विरोधी दल के सांसद अपने क्षेत्र में जाकर अपनी जनता को क्या जवाब देंगे ? इस बात को विपक्षी सांसद व्यक्तिगत रूप से काफी महसूस करते हैं. अगर विपक्ष के नेताओं को लगता है कि उन्होंने ये दिखा दिया कि अमित शाह जवाब देने से भाग रहे हैं, तो ये दांव भी फेल हो गया क्योंकि सत्र खत्म होने से पहले अमित शाह ने चुनौती दे कर इस दावे की हवा निकाल दी. सदन में हंगामा करके, कार्यवाही रोक कर, विपक्ष ने अपना बहुत नुकसान किया. न माया मिली, न राम.

क्या राहुल की हताशा अब कड़वाहट में बदल चुकी है?

राहुल गांधी संसद में गतिरोध को अपनी जीत बताते हैं. राहुल ने कहा कि उन्होंने मोदी और अमित शाह की नाक में दम कर दिया है, अब जब तक मोदी इस्तीफा नहीं दे देते, अमित शाह की कुर्सी नहीं चली जाती, तब तक मोदी और शाह को चैन से सोने नहीं देंगे. कांग्रेस के एक कार्यक्रम में राहुल ने भद्दे तरीके से प्रधानमंत्री मोदी का मज़ाक उड़ाया. राहुल ने कहा कि मोदी जहां भी जाते हैं विदेशी नेताओं के गले पड़ जाते हैं. राहुल ने लोगों के सामने ये करके भी दिखाया. कांग्रेस नेता संदीप दीक्षित को मंच पर गले लगा लिया.

राहुल गांधी जब प्रधानमंत्री का मजाक उड़ाते हैं तो आश्चर्य नहीं होता. वह पिछले 12 साल से मोदी को कभी ‘चोर’, कभी ‘कायर’, कभी ‘कांपने वाला’ कहते रहे हैं. अब उनकी लिस्ट में अमित शाह भी शामिल हो गए हैं. राहुल गांधी जानते हैं कि देश में मोदी और अमित शाह का aura (छवि) है. वो ये भी मानते हैं कि उनकी अपनी पार्टी के नेता भी इन दोनों से डरते हैं. राहुल को यकीन है कि जब तक मोदी और शाह की ऐसी छवि सलामत है, वो इनका कुछ नहीं बिगाड़ पाएंगे. इन नेताओं के लिए तू-तड़ाक की भाषा का इस्तेमाल करना, ‘पागल कर दूंगा’ जैसे dialogue मारना, इसी मंशा का नतीजा है, लेकिन मोदी की लोकप्रियता ने राहुल को तीन-तीन बार लोकसभा चुनाव में हराया है.

देश के 22 राज्यों में NDA की सरकारें हैं, फिर भी हर चुनाव में राहुल कहते हैं कि, ‘लिख कर ले लो, इस बार मोदी को हराएंगे’. लेकिन हर बार उल्टा होता है. ये हताशा अब कड़वाहट में बदल चुकी है और ये स्वाभाविक है. पर हमारे देश में गाली देने वालों को, अपमानजनक भाषा का प्रयोग करने वालों को जनता पसंद नहीं करती. इसीलिए बीजेपी के नेता कहते हैं कि राहुल गांधी जितना कड़वा बोलते हैं, मोदी को उतना ही फायदा होता है. बीजेपी के कई नेताओं ने मुझसे कहा है कि राहुल उनके सबसे बड़े दोस्त हैं, campaigner हैं और जब तक राहुल के पास कांग्रेस की कमान है, बीजेपी को चिंता करने की कोई जरूरत नहीं है.
