Following up on his appeal to countrymen to cut down on consumption of fuel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reduced the size of his convoy by nearly 80 per cent. On Wednesday, only two vehicles were seen in the PM’s convoy in Delhi.
Earlier, the PM’s convoy used to comprise 12 to 15 vehicles, including a decoy vehicle, an armoured SUV, an electronic counter measures vehicle equipped with jammers to prevent triggering of explosives, security vehicle, advance security liaison vehicle and an ambulance.
Home Minister Amit Shah has asked his security agencies to reduce vehicles in his convoy to the maximum possible extent. Shah’s convoy will now comprise only four to five vehicles, while earlier, his Z+ security cover used to have more than 10 vehicles in the convoy.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other central ministers have also reduced the size of their convoys.
Taking a cue, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Assam, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi have also reduced the strength of their convoys.
By cutting down the size of his convoy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent a good message to the people. His ministers and state chief ministers have also reduced the strength of their convoys.
When such cuts take place from the topmost level, people get inspiration and they also try to put in their contribution for conserving fuel.
In a huge country like India, if people make up their mind to reduce consumption of petrol, diesel and natural gas, India can save several billion dollars in foreign exchange.
On Wednesday, the union cabinet approved a coal gasification scheme.
Coal gasification is a thermo-chemical process that converts coal or lignite into synthesis gas (syngas). It is a mixture primarily consisting of carbon monoxide and hydrogen.
By heating coal with limited oxygen and steam at high temperatures and pressures, this feedstock is used for producing electricity, methanol, ammonia, urea, and synthetic natural gas. Syngas can be used to run turbines and produce electricity. Fertilizers and several other petroleum products can also be produced.
Under coal gasification scheme, a target of gasification of 10 crore tonnes of coal has been set by the year 2030.
India presently imports more than 50 pc of its LNG needs, nearly 20 pc of its urea requirements and 80-90 pc of its methanol needs and almost 100 pc of its ammonia requirements.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw says, India has enough coal reserves to last for the next 200 years. If we utilize these resources, we can fulfil our own energy requirements for more than a hundred years.
The Centre will be spending Rs 37,500 crore on coal gasification project. It is aimed to conserve several lakh crores of rupees worth foreign exchange.

तेल संकट से निपटने की अपनी अपील पर सबसे पहले खुद अमल करते हुए प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने बुधवार को अपने काफिले में चलने वाली गाड़ियों की संख्या अस्सी प्रतिशत घटा दी. अब प्रधानमंत्री के काफिले में सिर्फ दो गाड़ियां चलेंगी.
एक में वह खुद होंगे, दूसरी में सुरक्षाकर्मी. पहले प्रधानमंत्री के काफिले में कम से कम 12 से 15 गाड़ियां होती थीं.
एक गाड़ी प्रधानमंत्री के लिए होती थी, एक हूबहू Decoy Vehicle होता था, यानी प्रधानमंत्री की गाड़ी जैसी ही दूसरी कार, एक बख्तरबंद SUV होता था, एक Electronic Counter measures Vehicle होता था, जिसमें जैमर लगे होते थे, जो विस्फोटकों को नाकाम कर सकते थे.
इसके अलावा सिक्योरिटी, Advance Security Liaison, एंबुलेंस समेत कुल 12 से 15 गाड़ियां प्रधानमंत्री के काफिले में होती थीं, लेकिन अब ज्यादातर गाड़ियां हटा दी गई हैं.
गृह मंत्री अमित शाह के काफिले के आकार में भी कटौती की गई है.
अमित शाह के काफिले में अब चार या पांच गाड़ियां ही होंगी, जबकि इससे पहले काफिले में दस से ज्यादा गाड़ियां होती थीं. अमित शाह के पास जेड प्लस सिक्योरिटी कवर है लेकिन उन्होंने सुरक्षा एजेंसियों से कहा है कि जितनी कम से कम गाड़ियों से काम चल सके, उतनी ही गाड़ियों का इस्तेमाल किया जाए.
रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह, सड़क परिवहन मंत्री नितिन गडकरी, कृषि मंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान समेत ज्यादातर मंत्रियों के काफिले भी छोटे हो गए हैं.
बीजेपी शासित राज्यों के मुख्यमंत्रियों और मंत्रियों ने भी अपने काफिले में चलने वाली गाड़ियों की संख्या आधी कर दी.
उत्तर प्रदेश, बिहार, महाराष्ट्र, पश्चिम बंगाल, असम, उत्तराखंड, मध्य प्रदेश, दिल्ली समेत ज्यादातर बीजेपी शासित राज्य सरकारों ने भी पेट्रोल डीजल की बचत के उपाय शुरू कर दिए.
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने अपने काफिले की गाड़ियां कम करके एक अच्छा संदेश दिया है. उनकी सरकार के मंत्रियों और मुख्यमंत्रियों ने भी काफिले कम किए हैं.
खर्च में कटौती की शुरुआत जब सर्वोच्च स्तर पर होती है तो जनता को प्रोत्साहन मिलता है, आम लोग भी ईंधन की बचत में योगदान करते हैं.
हमारा देश इतना बड़ा है. अगर लोग ठान लें, तो पेट्रोल डीजल की खपत काफी कम हो सकती है और इनपर खर्च होने वाली विदेशी मुद्रा बच सकती है.
इसी तरह PNG और LNG पर खर्च होने वाली विदेशी मुद्रा को भी बचाने की जरूरत है.
सरकार ने इस दिशा में एक बड़ा फैसला किया है. बुधवार को केंद्र सरकार ने ‘कोल गैसीफिकेशन’ स्कीम को मंजूरी दी. ये एक ऐसी तकनीक है जिसमें कोयले को गैस में बदला जाता है.
एक हाईप्रैशर वाले चैंबर में कोयले को हाई टैंपरेचर पर गर्म किया जाता है. इससे कोयला गैस में तब्दील होता है. इसे सिनगैस कहते हैं. सिनगैस यानी SNG.
SNG एक तरह से PNG और LNG का विकल्प है. कोल गैसीफिकेशन स्कीम के तहत 2030 तक 10 करोड़ टन कोयले के गैसीफिकेशन का लक्ष्य रखा गया है.
केंद्रीय मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव का कहना है कि भारत के पास 200 साल तक काम आने वाला कोयला भंडार है. सरकार इस प्रोजैक्ट के लिए 37 हज़ार 500 करोड़ खर्च करेगी.
अगर कोयले से गैस बनती है तो हर साल लाखों करोड़ रूपए की विदेशी मुद्रा बचेगी.
फिलहाल भारत अपनी जरूरत का 50 प्रतिशत से ज्यादा LNG, करीब 20 प्रतिशत यूरिया, 80 से 90 प्रतिशत तक मेथनॉल और शत प्रतिशत अमोनिया विदेशों से आयात करता है.
प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने ऊर्जा और विदेशी मुद्रा की बचत के लिए जिन चार चीजों पर ज़ोर दिया है, वे हैं, कच्चा तेल, सोना, खाने का तेल और उर्वरक.
2025-26 में भारत का import bill 775 अरब डॉलर का था, इसमें से करीब ढाई सौ अरब डॉलर सिर्फ इन चार चीजों पर खर्च हुए. 138 अरब डॉलर यानी करीब सवा लाख करोड़ रूपए कच्चा तेल मंगवाने पर खर्च हुए.
सोने के आयात पर 72 अरब डॉलर यानी करीब 70 हजार करोड़ रूपए खर्च हुए. खाद्य तेल के आयात पर करीब 19 अरब डॉलर खर्च हुए और उर्वरकों के आयात पर 15 अरब डॉलर खर्च हुए.
इन चार चीजों में कच्चा तेल, खाने का तेल और उर्वरक को आवश्यक श्रेणी में रखा गया है, लेकिन सोने के मामले में प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने लोगों से एक साल तक सोना न खरीदने की अपील की है.
सरकार ने सोना और चांदी की खरीद को हतोत्साहित करने के लिए बुधवार को इन दोनों वस्तुओं पर इम्पोर्ट ड्यूटी 6 प्रतिशत से बढ़ा कर 15 प्रतिशत कर दी है.
हमारे देश में हर साल 700 से 800 मीट्रिक टन सोने की खपत होती है. इसका 90 से 95 प्रतिशत हम विदेश से आयात करते हैं.
अगर प्रधानमंत्री की अपील के बाद सोने की खपत में 30 से 40 प्रतिशत की गिरावट आई, तो एक साल में हम 20 से 25 अरब डॉलर की विदेशी मुद्रा बचा सकते हैं.
इस धन का इस्तेमाल तेल, गैस और उर्वरक जैसी दूसरी ज़रूरी चीज़ें ख़रीदने में कर सकते हैं.

Has NTA failed in providing a secure system?

With the cancellation of NEET-UG (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate) exam, the fate of nearly 22.79 lakh students across India has become uncertain.
A whistleblower’s tip-off from Sikar, Rajasthan, to the NTA (National Testing Agency) about a ‘guess paper’ being sold to candidates led to skeletons tumbling out of the cupboard.
On Tuesday, NTA director general Abhishek Singh announced, NEET-UG exam will be conducted again within a week, candidates will not have to fill up their forms afresh, they will not have to pay fees, the fees already paid by them will be refunded, and their exam centers will not be changed.
Key questions arise:
How was the question paper leaked? Why has there been a series of paper leaks in NTA in the past few years?
The modus operandi adopted this time by the paper leak gang was surprising.
The NTA director general revealed that some students had sent to NTA, PDF copies of the paper leaked, and in course of the probe, it was found that many of the questions in the “guess paper” tallied with the questions in the original NEET-UG paper.
NTA had made “foolproof” secure arrangements for conducting the exam. The question paper, after printing, was sent in vehicles equipped with GPS and jammers, while exam centers were also equipped with AI-assist CCTV and advanced technology like 5G jammers.
The gang adopted a different modus operandi. The question paper was leaked before it was printed at Nashik printing press.
All the questions were not copied. Only 150 questions were copied, handwritten and a ‘guess paper’ running into 150 pages was prepared. The guess paper contained more than 300 questions. They included 150 questions from the original NEET question paper.
This was done to mislead agencies if any probe was ordered. The ‘guess paper’ was eventually sold to thousands of candidates. The questions in the ‘guess paper’ that were copied from the original one, totalled 600 marks, while the NEET paper’s total marks were 720.
All the 90 original Biology questions were taken in the ‘guess paper’, without any change in comma and full stops, while 35 out of 45 original Chemistry questions figured in the ‘guess paper’.
Police stumbled upon a WhatsApp group code named Private Mafia, which had nearly 400 members. The group caption says, it has been formed for uploading leaked exam paper, and members were asked not to forward the paper. The paper was uploaded in PDF format in the group on May 1, two days before the exam was due.
The person uploading the paper in the group wrote, he was uploading the NEET-UG 2026 paper, and, for good measure, he wrote, he was guaranteeing that all these questions will come in the exam. The paper was password protected. When the paper was opened, all the questions had come in the exam.
The question is: why only 600 marks worth questions were copied from the original question paper?
Experts say, there could be two reasons. One, to mislead probe agencies so that there should be no suspicions about the paper being leaked, and two, if any candidate scored 600 out of a total of 720 marks, his or her admission to a government medical college is guaranteed.
Since private medical colleges charge Rs 1 crore to Rs 1.5 crore for MBBS admission, the focus of most of the parents is on government medical colleges which charge only Rs 1.25 lakh. This is where the paper leak mafia closes in.
The losers are those genuine candidates, who burn their midnight oil, to score higher percentage in exams.
The probe so far by Rajasthan SOG (Special Operations Group) reveals, a hard copy of the original question paper was leaked from Nashik printing press. It was sent to a doctor in Gurugram, where questions were copied in handwritten format and the handwritten copy was sent to Jaipur.
From Jaipur, the copy reached a person in Jamwa Ramgarh, near Jaipur. This man sold the copy to a coaching institute owner in Sikar. He made several copies and sold it to buyers in AP, Bihar, J&K, Kerala and Uttarakhand for Rs 5 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
As the May 3 exam date approached, the ‘rate’ of the leaked ‘guess paper’ fell to Rs 30 thousand apiece via WhatsApp. Coaching institute owners frantically prepared their candidates to revise this ‘guess paper’.
Rajasthan SOG has joined most of the dots and 18 persons have been taken into custody.
The mastermind is reported to be one Manish Yadav, who is in custody. A mediator Avinash Lamba and paper distributor Rakesh Mandwaria have also been arrested. A coaching class owner in Sikar has also been nabbed. The man in Ramwa Ramgarh, whose two sons are doctors, has also been arrested.
Nashik police has nabbbed Shubham Khairnar, said to be the man who leaked the hard copy of the paper from printing press. Shubham’s father is a doctor and his brother runs a medical store. Shubham has been handed over to CBI.
The National Testing Agency was set up with fanfare several years ago to provide a world class infrastructure for conducting exams.
In the last nine years, NTA has become a shining example of paper leaks and incompetence. Sometimes papers are leaked during printing, sometimes in course of transport, and in some cases, the paper setter himself leaked the paper.
The icing on the cake was when the NTA director general appealed to students to inform his organization immediately if the question paper is leaked.
What will NTA do in that case? Cancel the exam? Set a fresh date for exam? Hand over the probe to CBI? Is it the only work left for NTA?
Enough is enough. Either NTA prepare a foolproof examination system, or the responsibility of conducting such exams be handed over to somebody else.

क्या NTA सुरक्षित तरीके से परीक्षा करवाने में नाकाम साबित हुआ?

NEET-UG परीक्षा रद्द होने से देश भर में तकरीबन 22 लाख 79 हजार छात्रों का भविष्य इस वक्त अधर में लटका हुआ है. 3 मई को परीक्षा हुई थी, पेपर लीक की जानकारी मिलने के बाद परीक्षा को रद्द कर दिया गया.
National Testing Agency (NTA) ने परीक्षा को रद्द कर फिर से इम्तहान कराने का ऐलान किया. NTA का कहना है कि ये फैसला छात्रों के हित में लिया गया है. जिन बच्चों ने 3 मई को NEET की परीक्षा दी, उन्हें दोबारा फॉर्म नहीं भरना होगा, फीस नहीं देनी होगी, जो फीस पहले दी थी, वह भी वापस की जाएगी, बच्चों के परीक्षा केंद्र नहीं बदले जाएंगे, परीक्षा की नई तारीख का ऐलान जल्द होगा.
ये सब तो ठीक है लेकिन सवाल ये है कि आखिर पेपर लीक कैसे हो गया?
पेपर लीक होने का सिलसिला थम क्यों नहीं रहा? इस बार पेपर लीक कराने का जो तरीका अपनाया गया, वह भी हैरान करने वाला है.
NTA के महानिदेशक अभिषेक सिंह ने माना कि 3 मई को जो परीक्षा हुई थी, उसके बारे में 7 मई को पेपर लीक की शिकायत NTA को मिली, जो पेपर लीक हुआ था, उसकी PDF कॉपी कुछ छात्रों ने NTA को भेजी, इसकी जांच हुई तो पता लगा कि जो गैस पेपर मार्केट में बेचे जा रहे थे. उनमें से कुछ प्रश्न हूबहू नीट के प्रश्नपत्र में आए थे. इसीलिए NTA ने परीक्षा रद्द करने का फैसला किया.
अभिषेक सिंह ने कहा कि NTA एक हफ्ते के भीतर परीक्षा की नई तारीख का ऐलान कर देगा जिससे छात्रों का साल बर्बाद न हो.
अब तक जो जांच हुई है उससे ये साफ हो गया है कि नीट का पेपर छपने से पहले ही नासिक की प्रिंट प्रेस से लीक किया गया.
इसके बाद हरियाणा, राजस्थान, बिहार, केरल, जम्मू कश्मीर, आन्ध्र प्रदेश और कई अन्य राज्यों में ये प्रश्न पत्र मोटी रकम की ऐवज में छात्रों के बीच guess papers के रूप में बांटे गये.
पता ये लगा है कि नासिक प्रिंटिंग प्रेस से नीट के पेपर की हार्ड कॉपी निकाली गई, इसे गुरुग्राम में एक डॉक्टर को भेजा गया, गुरुग्राम में पेपर के सवालों की हाथ से लिखी कॉपी तैयार की गई. इस हैंड रिटेन कॉपी को जयपुर भेजा गया.
जयपुर से ये कॉपी जमवा रामगढ़ में एक शख्स के पास पहुंची. इस शख्स ने इस कॉपी को सीकर में कोचिंग चलाने वाले शख्स को बेचा. कोचिंग संचालक ने इसकी कई कॉपियां करवाई और उन्हें आन्ध्र प्रदेश, बिहार, जम्मू कश्मीर, केरल, उत्तराखंड जैसे कई राज्यों में पांच लाख रुपये से बीस लाख रुपये तक में बेचा.
इसके बाद जैसे जैसे परीक्षा की तारीख करीब आती गई, रेट गिरता गया और आखिर में इस गैस पेपर को व्हाट्सएप के जरिए 30-30 हजार रुपये में बेचा गया.
गैस पेपर में ज्यादातर वही सवाल आए जो प्रश्नपत्र में थे. राजस्थान SOG ने कडियां जोड़ ली हैं, कई राज्यों से 18 लोगों को हिरासत में लिया गया है. सबसे ज्यादा लोग राजस्थान से पकड़े गए हैं.
, नीट पेपर लीक का मास्टरमाइंड राजस्थान का मनीष यादव है और उसे SOG ने गिरफ्तार कर लिया है. उसके अलावा मीडिएटर अविनाश लांबा और पेपर डिस्ट्रीब्यूटर राकेश मंडावरिया को भी गिरफ्तार किया गया है. सीकर के एक कोचिंग संचालक को भी हिरासत में लिया गया है.
राजस्थान SOG ने जमवा रामगढ़ से उस शख्स को भी गिरफ्तार किया है, जिसके पास सबसे पहले पेपर पहुंचा था. इस व्यक्ति के दोनों बेटे डॉक्टर हैं.
उधर, नासिक पुलिस ने शुभम खैरनार नाम के उस शख्स को पकड़ लिया जिस पर नासिक की प्रिंटिंग प्रेस से पेपर की हार्ड कॉपी लीक करने का शक है.
शुभम खैरनार के पिता डॉक्टर है. उसका भाई दवा की दुकान चलाता है. शुभम को CBI के हवाले कर दिया गया है.
सरकार ने नीट के लिए फूल प्रूफ इंतजाम किए थे. प्रिंट होने के बाद पेपर को जिन गाड़ियों से सेंटर्स पर भेजा गया, वो गाडियां GPS से लैस थी, इनमें जैमर थे, एग्जाम सेंटर्स में AI-असिस्ट सीसीटीवी समेत 5G जैमर्स जैसी एडवांस्ड टेक्नोलॉजी का इस्तेमाल किया गया था. लेकिन इस बार पेपर लीक गैंग ने नया तरीका निकाला.
प्रिंटिंग से पहले ही पेपर की हार्ड कॉपी निकाल ली, इसके सारे सवाल कॉपी नहीं किए गए.
इस पेपर के 150 सवाल लिए गए, हाथ से लिख कर डेढ़ सौ पेज का एक guess paper तैयार किया गया. इसमें तीन सौ से ज्यादा सवाल रखे गए. उनमें नीट के 150 सवालों को शामिल किया गया.
ये सब इसलिए किया गया ताकि किसी को शक न हो. जांच एजेंसियां इसके चक्कर में गुमराह हो गईं.
ये गेस पेपर हजारों लोगों तक पहुंचा. नीट के 720 नंबर के पेपर में 600 नंबर के सवाल इसी गेस पेपर से आए. बायोलॉजी के 90 में से 90 सवाल वही थे, जो गेस पेपर में दिए गए थे. कहीं कोई कोमा फुलस्टॉप का अंतर नहीं था. केमिस्ट्री के 45 में से 35 सवाल ज्यों का त्यों आए.
अब सवाल ये है कि अगर पूरा पेपर लीक हो गया था तो सिर्फ 600 नंबर के सवाल ही कॉपी क्यों किए गए ? इसकी दो वजह हैं. पहली, जांच एजेसिंयों को गुमराह करना, जिससे किसी को पेपर लीक का शक न हो. दूसरा, अगर किसी छात्र के 720 में से 600 अंक आ जाएं तो उसे सरकारी मेडिकल कॉलेज में दाखिला मिलना तय हो जाता है.
प्राइवेट मेडिकल कॉलेजों में MBBS की फीस एक करोड़ से डेढ़ करोड़ रूपए तक होती है, जबकि सरकारी कॉलेज में फीस सवा लाख रूपए तक है. इसलिए ज्यादातर लोग अपने बच्चों को को सरकारी मेडिकल कॉलेज में दाखिला दिलाने की कोशिश में पेपर लीक माफिया के चक्कर में फंस जाते हैं.
लेकिन इसका नुकसान उन बच्चों का होता है, जो ईमानदारी से पढ़ाई करते हैं, मेहनत करके परीक्षा पास करने की कोशिश करते हैं.
NTA बनाया तो गया था सुरक्षित तरीके से मेडिकल पढ़ाई में दाखिले के लिए, विश्वस्तरीय शैक्षिक ढांचा तैयार करने के मकसद से, लेकिन नौ साल में NTA पेपर लीक और नाकामी की मिसाल बनकर रह गया.
NTA कभी प्रिंटिंग कराने में फेल हुआ, कभी ट्रांसपोर्ट करने में पेपर लीक हुआ, तो कभी पेपर बनाने वाले ने ही लीक कर दिया.
हद तो तब हो गई जब NTA के महानिदेशक छात्रों से कहने लगे कि पेपर लीक हो तो NTA को तुरंत सूचित करें. तो फिर NTA क्या करेगा?
परीक्षा रद्द करेगा? फिर से इम्तिहान की तारीख देगा? CBI को जांच सौंपेगा? क्या NTA का सिर्फ यही काम रह गया है?
अब बहुत हो चुका. या तो NTA फूलप्रूफ प्रणाली तैयार करे. अगर नहीं कर सकता तो परीक्षा की जिम्मेदारी किसी और को सौंप दी जाए.

विदेशी मुद्रा बचाने की ज़रूरत क्यों पड़ी?

खाड़ी में हालात फिर बिगड़ रहे हैं और युद्धविराम टूट सकता है. अमेरिका और ईरान के बीच जंग फिर शुरू हो सकती है. अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डॉनल्ड ट्रंप ने ईरान के शांति प्रस्ताव को खारिज कर दिया है.
ट्रंप ने कहा है, अमेरिका अब और इंतज़ार नहीं करेगा और ईरान के खिलाफ कार्रवाई करेगा. इज़राइल ने भी कहा है कि जंग अभी खत्म नहीं हुई है और हमले फिर शुरू हो सकते हैं.
अगर जंग फिर शुरू होती है तो पूरी दुनिया पर इसका बहुत बुरा असर होगा.
प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने इस संकट को दशक की सबसे बड़ी वैश्विक चुनौती बताया है. मोदी ने कहा कि भारत भी इसके असर से बच नहीं पाएगा और जैसे देश कोरोना के संकट से लड़ा था, वैसे ही इस चुनौती से भी निपटेगा. इसमें लोगों के सहयोग की जरूरत होगी.
दुनिया भर में कच्चे तेल की क़ीमतें बढ़कर एक बार फिर 100 डॉलर प्रति बैरल को पार कर गई. इसका असर शेयर बाजार पर पड़ा जहां सेंसेक्स लगातार गिर रहा है.
दुनिया भर में तेल और गैस के सप्लाई चेन को लेकर चिंता है. स्ट्रेट ऑफ़ होर्मुज़ से दुनिया भर की 20 प्रतिशत ऊर्जा की सप्लाई होती है.
कच्चा तेल, LNG, डीज़ल और उर्वरक खाड़ी के देशों से पूरी दुनिया में जाते हैं. दो महीने से स्ट्रेट ऑफ होर्मुज़ बंद है. कच्चे तेल की कीमत करीब 50 प्रतिशत बढ़ गई है.
क़तर पर ईरान के हमले की वजह से भारत और अन्य देशों को LNG की सप्लाई ठप है. अरब मुल्कों से उर्वरक और दूसरे पेट्रो-केमिकल सामानों का निर्यात लगभग बंद है. इसीलिए इन सब चीजों के दाम दुनिया भर में बढ़ रहे हैं.
भारत अपनी ऊर्जा की ज़रूरतों का 85 से 90 प्रतिशत तेल और गैस आयात करता है. उर्वरक, पेट्रो-रसायन के सामान और खाने में इस्तेमाल होने वाले तेल का भी एक बड़ा हिस्सा हम दूसरे देशों से ख़रीदते हैं. भुगतान अमेरिकी डॉलर में करना पड़ता है. इसका असर हमारे विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार पर पड़ा है. इम्पोर्ट बिल बढ़ गया है.
अब तक सरकार ने आम जनता पर इसका ज़्यादा बोझ नहीं डाला, पेट्रोल-डीज़ल के दाम नहीं बढ़ाए, लेकिन खाड़ी में हालात फिर बिगड़ सकते हैं.
प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कहा है कि मुश्किल की इस घड़ी में जितना संभव हो, लोग सार्वजनिक परिवहन और इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों का इस्तेमाल करें, कार पूलिंग करें, माल ढुलाई के लिए ट्रक की बजाय रेलवे का इस्तेमाल करें, खेती में रासायनिक खाद की बजाय कंपोस्ट का उपयोग करें, नेचुरल फार्मिंग करें, खाना पकाने में तेल का इस्तेमाल कम करें, विदेशी मुद्रा बचाने के लिए एक साल तक सोना न खरीदें और विदेश यात्राओं पर न जाएं.
भारत में हर साल 700 से 800 मीट्रिक टन सोने की खपत होती है और इसका 90 से 95 प्रतिशत हम विदेश से खरीदते हैं.
भारत हर साल दूसरे देशों से क़रीब 775 अरब डॉलर के सामान ख़रीदता है. इसका लगभग दस प्रतिशत हिस्सा, यानी 72 अरब डॉलर सिर्फ सोने का आयात करने पर खर्च होता है. भारत दुनिया में सोने का दूसरा सबसे बड़ा खरीदार है.
अगर भारत में सोने की खपत में 30 से 40 प्रतिशत की गिरावट आती है तो एक साल में हम 20 से 25 अरब डॉलर की विदेशी मुद्रा बचा सकते हैं.
अगर भारत में सोने की खपत आधी रह जाए, तो 36 अरब डॉलर की बचत होगी. इस पैसे का इस्तेमाल तेल, गैस और उर्वरक जैसी ज़रूरी चीज़ें ख़रीदने में हो सकेगा.
बहुत से लोग सोचेंगे कि मोदी ने खाने में कम तेल के इस्तेमाल की अपील क्यों की. मोदी ने जो अपील की उसके दो फायदे हैं.
पहला, कम तेल खाने से सेहत ठीक रहेगी, दूसरा, कम तेल खाएंगे तो देश के कम से कम 70 हजार करोड़ रूपए बचेंगे. भारत हर साल करीब एक करोड़ सत्तर लाख टन खाने के तेल का आयात करता है. इनमें पाम ऑयल, सोयाबीन तेल और सनफ्लॉवर तेल शामिल हैं.
हम देश की ज़रूरत का सिर्फ 40 प्रतिशत खाद्य तेल उत्पादन करते हैं, बाकी 60 प्रतिशत विदेश से मंगाते हैं. इस पर हर साल 18 से 19 अरब डॉलर ख़र्च होता है. खाने के तेल के इस्तेमाल में 20 से 30 प्रतिशत की कटौती से एक साल में 4 से 5 अरब डॉलर की बचत हो सकती है.
खाड़ी युद्ध के कारण कच्चे तेल के दाम 50 से 55 प्रतिशत बढ़ चुके हैं जबकि यूरिया, पोटाश और फॉस्फेट जैसे उर्वरकों की कीमतें क़रीब 25 प्रतिशत बढ़ चुकी हैं. LNG का दुनिया में सबसे बड़ा सप्लायर क़तर है. ईरान के हमले के बाद से क़तर के गैस प्रोडक्शन प्लांट बर्बाद हो गए हैं. इनकी मरम्मत में तीन से चार साल तक लग सकते हैं. इसकी वजह से एशिया और यूरोप के लिए LNG की कीमतों में 140 प्रतिशत की बढ़ोत्तरी हो चुकी है.
भारत में अभी पेट्रोल, डीज़ल और गैस की कोई कमी न हो, इसके लिए सरकार ने अमेरिका, रूस, ऑस्ट्रेलिया और नाइजीरिया से तेल और गैस का आयात बढ़ाया है, ओमान से पेट्रोलियम उत्पादों और उर्वरकों की ख़रीद बढ़ाई है.
इन सभी कारणों से हमारा करेंट एकाउंट घाटा बढ़ रहा है. सरकार को दूसरे स्रोतों से सामान ख़रीदने में ज़्यादा विदेशी मुद्रा ख़र्च करनी पड़ रही है.
आप इस तरह से समझें कि अगर भारत 100 रुपए का सामान विदेश से ख़रीदता है, तो उसमें से 31 रुपए कच्चा तेल ख़रीदने में जाता है और 9 रूपए सोना ख़रीदने में जाता है.
चूंकि हम अपनी ज़रूरत का लगभग 90 प्रतिशत उर्वरक विदेश से मंगाते हैं और ये हमारी खाद्य सुरक्षा के लिए ज़रूरी है, इसलिए सरकार इन सबके आयात में कोई कमी नहीं कर सकती. हां, अगर खपत में कमी की जाए तो देश का import बिल कम किया जा सकता है.
मौजूदा हालात पर सरकार की पैनी नज़र है रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह की अध्यक्षता में एंपावर्ड ग्रुप ऑफ़ मिनिस्टर्स की मीटिंग हुई जिसमें पेट्रोलियम मंत्री हरदीप पुरी, स्वास्थ्य मंत्री जेपी नड्डा, जहाजरानी मंत्री सर्वानंद सोनोवाल, संसदीय मंत्री किरण रिजिजू और उनके विभागों के सचिव शामिल हुए.
राजनाथ सिंह ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री ने जो अपील की है, वो जनता के मन में तनाव पैदा करने के लिए नहीं, पहले से सावधान करने और सहयोग के लिए की गई है, देश में तेल और गैस का पर्याप्त भंडार है, सरकार ज़रूरी सामान की सप्लाई नॉर्मल रखने के लिए हर मुमकिन क़दम उठा रही है. इसलिए परेशान होने की ज़रूरत नहीं.
दुनिया के तमाम देश खाड़ी के युद्ध के झटके से उबरने के लिए कदम उठा रहे हैं लेकिन हमारे यहां जैसे ही प्रधानमंत्री ने विदेशी मुद्रा बचाने के लिए आम जनता से अपील की तो विरोधी दलों ने मोदी पर हमला बोल दिया.
कांग्रेस, समाजवादी पार्टी, आम आदमी पार्टी और RJD से लेकर ममता बनर्जी की पार्टी तक, लगभग सभी विपक्षी दलों ने इसको लेकर सरकार को घेरा.
राहुल गांधी ने आरोप लगाया कि देश आर्थिक संकट का सामना कर रहा है लेकिन प्रधानमंत्री ने अपनी ज़िम्मेदारी से पल्ला झाड़ लिया है.
अखिलेश यादव ने सोशल मीडिया पर लिखा, “चुनाव ख़त्म होते ही, ‘संकट’ याद आ गया ! दरअसल देश के लिए ‘संकट’ सिर्फ़ एक है और उसका नाम है : ‘भाजपा’”
अरविंद केजरीवाल ने लोगों को डराने की कोशिश की और पूछा कि क्या भारत में आर्थिक संकट आने वाला है.
कांग्रेस के नेताओं ने मांग की कि प्रधानमंत्री को संसद की बैठक बुलानी चाहिए और मौजूदा हालात के बारे में जनता को सही तस्वीर बतानी चाहिए.
मेरा ये मानना है कि अगर प्रधानमंत्री ने तेल और गैस की बचत को लेकर अपील की तो कौन सा पहाड़ टूट गया?
मोदी ने अगर सोना कम खरीदने को कहा, विदेशों में सैर सपाटा कम करने को कहा तो इसमें इतनी हाय-तौबा मचाने की क्या ज़रूरत?
अमेरिका से ईरान पर हमला मोदी ने तो नहीं करवाया था. दुनिया में तेल का संकट मोदी के कारण पैदा नहीं हुआ.
जिन चीजों पर विदेशी मुद्रा ज्यादा खर्च होती है, उनकी खरीदारी में किफायत बरतने में किसी को क्या समस्या हो सकती है?
ये समस्या विरोधी दलों के कुछ नेताओं की है. इस तरह की बेसिर पैर की बातें करने के कारण ही उनकी विश्वसनीयता कम हुई है और उनको लोग ज्यादा गंभीरता से नहीं लेते.

Why do we need to save foreign exchange?

The situation in the Gulf is worsening and the ceasefire can break anytime. US and Iran can launch fresh attacks. US President Donald Trump has outrightly rejected Iran’s peace proposals.
Trump has threatened the US will not wait any more and take action against Iran. Israel has also said, the war has not ended and attacks may resume.
If war resumes, it will have huge adverse effects on the rest of the world.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described this crisis as one of the biggest global challenges of this decade. He has said, India cannot remain unaffected from the repercussions. He appealed to people to cooperate as they did during the Covid pandemic.
International crude prices have crossed $100 a barrel and the stock exchanges are reeling under the impact. Concerns are being raised about oil, gas and other supply chains. More than 20 pc of world’s energy requirements are supplied through the Strait of Hormuz.
Crude, LNG, diesel and fertilizers are exported to the rest of the world from Gulf nations. Strait of Hormuz has been closed for the last two months and crude prices have jumped by nearly 50 pc.
LNG supplies to India and other countries have stopped after Iran attacked Qatar’s LNG facilities. Exports of fertilizers and other petrochermical products have come to a standstill. The result: prices of most of the products are rising across the world.
India imports 85 to 90 pc of its energy requirements from other countries. These also include fertilizers, petrochemical goods, gas, edible oil and other products and we have to pay in dollars.
Our foreign exchange reserve is now under pressure and import bill is rising. Till now, the Centre did not put much of this burden on the people. Prices of petrol and diesel were not raised, but now that the situation can worsen, the outlook is bleak.
Prime Minister Modi has appealed to people to conserve energy by using public transport and electric vehicles, forming car pools, using railways instead of trucks for transport of goods, use compost instead of chemical fertilizers and switch to natural farming, and at the same time, reduce consumption of edible oil.
In order to conserve foreign exchange, Modi has appealed to people to at least stop buying gold for one year and avoid foreign trips. India consumes 700-800 metric tons of gold annually, and 90-95 pc of this is imported.
India imports $775 billion worth goods from other countries, out of which gold comprises nearly 10 per cent, i.e. $72 billion. India is the world’s second largest buyer of gold.
A 30-40 per cent drop in gold consumption in India can save $20-25 billion in foreign exchange. If consumption drops by half, $36 billion foreign exchange can be saved. This can be better utilized to import oil, gas and fertilizers.
Many can question why Modi asked people to consume less edible oil. It has two benefits. One, less consumption of oil food can improve one’s health, and Two, the nation can save Rs 70,000 crore being spent on importing 1.7 crore tonnes of edible oil, which include palm oil, soyabean oil and sunflower oil.
India produces only 40 pc of its edible oil needs, while the remaining 60 pc comes from other countries. The annual import bill for edible oil is $18-19 billion. A 20-30 pc reduction in edible oil consumption can save $4-5 billion annually.
While international crude price has jumped by 50-55 pc, prices of fertilizers like urea, potash and phosphate have risen by nearly 25 pc. After Iran attacked Qatar, its LNG production facilities were closed down. Qatar is world’s largest LNG exporter.
It may take three to four years to repair Qatar’s LNG facility. LNG prices in Asia and Europe have increased by up to 140 per cent.
To avoid shortage of petrol, diesel and LNG, India has started importing from the US, Russia, Australia and Nigeria. Petrochemical products and fertilizers are being imported from Oman.
Rising import bill has caused our current account deficit to grow. The Centre has to spend more foreign exchange to import essential goods from other sources.
In plain language, let me explain. Out of Rs 100 worth goods imported by India, Rs 31 accounts for crude oil and Rs 9 for gold.
Since India imports 90 pc of its fertilizers from abroad, it cannot cut this import bill because of food security. Import bill can go down only if consumption is reduced.
The Centre is keeping a close watch on the situation. The Empowered Group of Ministers headed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met on Monday and it was attended by Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Health Minister J P Nadda, Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and other secretaries.
Rajnath Singh explained that the Prime Minsiter’s appeal to the people to cut consumption of gold and fuel should not create unnecessary panic. It was only meant to caution and seek people’s cooperation. He said, India has adequate stocks of oil and gas, and all possible measures are being taken to keep supply of essential goods normal.
At a time when countries across the world are taking measures to face the challenges posed by the Gulf war, opposition parties in India have attacked Prime Minister Modi.
Congress, Samajwadi Party, Aam Aadmi Party, RJD and Trinamool Congress alleged “policy failures” on part of the government. Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Prime Minister is shirking from his responsibility at this time of economic crisis.
Akhilesh Yadav wrote on social media: “The ‘crisis’ erupted the moment elections were over. Actually, there is only one crisis, and that is BJP.”
AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal asked, Is India going to face an economic crisis? Congress leaders demanded that a special sitting of Parliament be convened and the ground realities be explained to the people.
My opinion: What is the need to make a big hue and cry if the Prime Minister makes an appeal to people to save fuel and gas ? Why so much hullabaloo if Modi appeals to people to avoid buying gold and splurge foreign exchange on foreign trips?
Modi did not trigger the US-Iran conflict. The world oil crisis did not take place because of Modi. Why should anybody have problems in saving foreign exchange through austerity?
The problem lies with some opposition leaders. Their credibility has taken a hit because of their baseless remarks and common people have stopped taking them seriously.

Who will rule TN? Vijay or DMK-AIADMK?

The suspense over formation of a new government in Tamil Nadu continues.
On Friday evening, news first came about TVK chief actor Vijay going to take oath the next day at Nehru Stadium in Chennai, but minutes later, news came that the Governor has not yet invited him to form the government. The reason: Vijay still requires the requisite number of MLAs who will support his government.
On Friday evening, Vijay met Governor Rajendra Arlekar and submitted to him letters of support from 116 MLAs. The Governor asked him to bring letters of support for the requisite majority number, 118.
Vijay’s TVK has 107 members, Congress has five, and CPI and CPI-M have 4 members. Congress has given unconditional support, but the Left parties have given issue-based conditional support.
The DMK-led front in Tamil Nadu is officially dead. The Congress was the first to leave the front. DMK supremo M.K. Stalin is angry with the Congress for leaving the alliance in a hurry without any prior talks.
DMK parliamentary party chief and Stalin’s sister Kanimozhi wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker requesting for separate seating arrangement in the House for DMK MPs, as the party is no more part of INDIA bloc.
Stalin is unhappy that his party never left its alliance with Congress during difficult times, and helped Congress to win 5 assembly seats this time. But soon after the results were out, Rahul Gandhi decided to walk out of the front and supported Vijay’s TVK to form the government.
I have confirmed information that the DMK had tried to forge an AIADMK-led government after it lost the assembly elections. Stalin had reportedly told CPI, CPI-M and VCK leaders to offer outside support to AIADMK, but Left parties had a problem: AIADMK is aligned with BJP.
Left parties then decided to give issue-based support to Vijay’s party, but informed Stalin about this in advance.
DMK leaders feel that had not Congress left the alliance in a hurry, both DMK and AIADMK could have joined hands to stop Vijay from forming his government.
The situation has now come to such a pass that despite support from Congress and Left, Vijay is unable to arrange majority. He has met the Governor thrice, but he is still short of the magic number.
Anything can now happen in the changed situation. VCK leaders are in talks with Stalin. If DMK gives outside support to AIADMK government, then the Congress will be caught in a bind.
I remember how in 1979 Biju Patnaik arranged a meeting between DMK chief Karunanidhi and then AIADMK CM M.G. Ramachandran to discuss a proposal for merger, but he failed. Several ministers in MGR’s government were against merger.
The situation is now completely different. DMK has 59 and AIADMK has 47 MLAs.

तमिलनाडु में किसकी सरकार? विजय की या DMK-AIADMK की?

तमिलनाडु में सरकार के गठन को लेकर अभी सस्पेंस बना हुआ है. शुक्रवार शाम को खबर आई कि टीवीके नेता विजय अगले दिन चेन्नई के नेहरू स्टेडियम में शपथ लेंगे, लेकिन कुछ ही मिनट बाद खबर आई कि राज्यपाल ने विजय को सरकार बनाने का न्योता नहीं दिया है, क्योंकि उनके पास अभी भी भी बहुमत के लिए ज़रूरी विधायकों का समर्थन नहीं है.
विजय शुक्रवार को राज्यपाल राजेंद्र आर्लेकर से मिले थे, लेकिन 116 विधायकों के समर्थन का पत्र ही सौंपा.
विजय ने कहा कुछ और पार्टियां उन्हें समर्थन देंगी, लेकिन राज्यपाल ने कहा कि पहले 118 विधायकों के समर्थन का पत्र लेकर आइये.
विजय को सिर्फ कांग्रेस और वामपंथी दलों का समर्थन मिला है. विजय की टीवीके के पास 107 विधायक हैं, 5 कांग्रेस और 4 लेफ्ट को मिलाकर 116 विधायक ही बनते हैं.
वामपंथी पार्टियों ने कहा है कि वे विजय की सरकार को बाहर से मुद्दों के आधार पर समर्थन देंगी.
अब इस बात की औपचारिक पुष्टि हो गई है कि तमिलनाडु में डीएमके के नेतृत्व वाला गठबंधन टूट चुका है. सबसे पहले कांग्रेस ने गठबंधन छोड़ा. कांग्रेस की इस धोखेबाजी से डीएमके नेता MK स्टालिन बेहद नाराज हैं.
DMK ने केंद्र में INDIA गठबंधन से अलग होने का एलान कर दिया है. स्टालिन की बहन कणिमोली ने लोकसभा के स्पीकर को पत्र लिख कर कहा है कि डीएमके के सांसदों को कांग्रेस से अलग बैठाने का इंतज़ाम करें.
चिट्ठी में कणिमोली ने लिखा कि DMK को INDIA अलायन्स के साथ न माना जाए.
स्टालिन इस बात से नाराज है कि उन्होंने बुरे वक्त में कांग्रेस का साथ नहीं छोड़ा, इस बार चुनाव में कांग्रेस ने DMK की मदद से पांच सीटें जीतीं लेकिन चुनाव नतीजे आने के तुरंत बाद राहुल गांधी ने DMK से रिश्ता खत्म करने और TVK का समर्थन करने का ऐलान कर दिया.
मेरे पास इस बात की पुष्ट सूचना है कि चुनाव में हार के बाद DMK ने AIADMK की सरकार बनवाने का प्रयास किया था.
स्टालिन ने CPI-CPM और VCK से कहा था कि वो भी AIADMK को बाहर से समर्थन दें, लेकिन वामपंथी पार्टियों को AIADMK के साथ BJP के गठबंधन को लेकर समस्या है. वामपंथी दलों ने विजय को समर्थन देने का फैसला करने से पहले स्टालिन को सूचित किया, इसलिए उनसे नाराजगी कम है.
स्टालिन की असली नाराजगी कांग्रेस से है जिसने बिना कोई बात किए उतावला होकर विजय की TVK को समर्थन दे दिया.
DMK के नेताओं को लगता है कि अगर कांग्रेस अचानक DMK का साथ नहीं छोड़ती तो DMK और AIADMK मिलकर विजय को सरकार बनाने से रोक सकते थे.
अब स्थिति ये है कि कांग्रेस और लैफ्ट का समर्थन मिलने के बाद भी विजय बहुमत का आंकड़ा नहीं जुटा पाए हैं, वह राज्यपाल से तीन बार मिल चुके हैं लेकिन उनके पास कुल 116 विधायकों का समर्थन है, बहुमत के लिए दो विधायकों की कमी है.
बदले हालात में अब कुछ भी हो सकता है. VCK के नेताओं की स्टालिन से बातचीत चल रही है. अब अगर DMK और AIADMK साथ आते हैं, तो कांग्रेस मुश्किल में फंसेगी. 1979 में बीजू पटनायक ने उस समय करुणानिधि और MGR के बीच मुलाकात कराई थे और DMK, AIADMK का विलय कराने की कोशिश की थी, लेकिन वह प्रयास सफल नहीं हो पाया. उस समय MGR के कई मंत्री विलय के सख्त खिलाफ थे.
इस बार स्थिति दूसरी है, DMK के 59 और AIADMK के 47 विधायक हैं.

क्या बंगाल को योगी मॉडल चाहिए?

बंगाल में जिसकी आशंका थी, वही हो गया. नयी सरकार के गठन से पहले कोलकाता में हाई प्रोफाइल मर्डर हुआ. शुभेन्दु अधिकारी के PA चन्द्रनाथ रथ को गोलियों से भून दिया गया.
जिस तरह से इस सनसनीखेज हत्याकांड को अंजाम दिया गया, उससे साफ है कि ये हत्या पूरी योजना के साथ, रेकी करके, राजनीतिक संदेश देने के लिए किया गया.
शुभेन्दु अधिकारी ने भी कहा है कि साज़िश तो उन्हें मारने की थी लेकिन हत्यारे उन तक नहीं पहुंच पाए, इसलिए उनके पीए को निशाना बनाया गया. शुभेन्दु ने कहा, ये हत्याकांड भवानीपुर में ममता बनर्जी की हार का बदला हो सकता है.
चन्द्रनाथ रथ की मां ने कहा, वह चाहती हैं उनके बेटे के हत्यारों को कानून सजा दे. वह खुद मां हैं, इसलिए हत्यारों के लिए फांसी की मांग नहीं करेंगी, लेकिन उनकी गोद उजाड़ने वालों को जिंदगी भर जेल में रखा जाना चाहिए.
भाजपा विधायक अर्जुन सिंह ने सीधे सीधे अभिषेक बनर्जी का नाम लिया. अर्जुन सिंह ने कहा, चुनावी हार से अभिषेक बनर्जी बौखला गए हैं, ये हत्या उसी का नतीजा है.
तृणमूल कांग्रेस ने इस मामले की जांच CBI से कराने की मांग की है. ममता की पार्टी ने कहा कि चुनाव के बाद हिंसा रोकने में चुनाव आयोग नाकाम रहा है, तृणमूल कांग्रेस के कार्यकर्ताओं और दफ़्तरों पर हमले हो रहे हैं, उनके तीन कार्यकर्ताओं की मौत हो चुकी है, ये बीजेपी और चुनाव आयोग की नाकामी का नतीजा है.
शुभेन्दु अधिकारी ने कहा, सिर्फ दो दिन इंतजार कीजिए. शपथग्रहण के बाद गुडों और माफिया का बुरा वक्त शुरू होगा. 9 मई के बाद बंगाल में अपराधियों का इलाज वैसे ही होगा जैसे यूपी में बीजेपी की सरकार ने किया है.
शुभेंदु अधिकारी के PA की हत्या इस बात का ज्वलन्त सबूत है कि बंगाल में हत्यारों की हिम्मत किस कदर बढ़ गई है,
चुनाव में TMC की हार के बाद भी अपराधियों को किसी का डर नहीं है. पश्चिम बंगाल में राजनीतिक हिंसा का, राजनीतिक कार्यकर्ताओं की हत्याओं का एक खूनी इतिहास रहा है.
पांच साल पहले 2021 में विधानसभा चुनाव में TMC की जीत के बाद 31 लोगों की हत्या हुई थी, हिंसा की 88 घटनाएं हुईं थीं.
पिछले 6 साल में देश भर में चुनावों के दौरान जितनी हिंसा हुई, उनमें 35 प्रतिशत घटनाएं बंगाल में हुईं. इसलिए चुनाव से पहले अर्धसैनिक बलों की 700 कंपनियों को तैनात करना पड़ा.
चुनाव के दौरान किसी की जान नहीं गई, गोली चलाने और बम फेंकने की घटनाएं नहीं हुई लेकिन चुनाव के नतीजे आने के बाद जो हुआ वह दुखदायक है.
शुभेंदु अधिकारी की बात सही है, कि बंगाल में भी गुंडागर्दी को रोकने के लिए योगी आदित्यनाथ का मॉडल लागू करना होगा.
अपराधियों के दिलोदिमाग में पुलिस का डर कायम करना होगा.

What was feared ultimately occured in West Bengal. Three days before the first BJP government was to be sworn in, top BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari’s PA was gunned down by professional sharpshooters.
The attack was meticulously pre-planned and efforts were made to remove all clues. The killers made a recce of the spot and the motive was to send a chilling political message.
Suvendu Adhikari said, the actual plot was to assassinate him, but the killers could not reach him and his personal assistant Chandranath Rath was killed.
He said, the murder could be a reprisal for Mamata Banerjee’s defeat in Bhabanipur constituency.
The victim’s mother demanded early justice and life term imprisonment for the killers. BJP legislator Arjun Singh named Mamata’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee. He said, Abhishek has gone berserk after the poll debacle and this murder took place.
Trinamool Congress has demanded CBI probe. The party spokesperson alleged, the Election Commission has failed to stop post-poll violence despite deploying huge number of paramilitary personnel.
TMC leaders said, their party offices and workers are being attacked and till now, three workers have been killed.
Suvendu Adhikari asked people to be patient for at least two days.
He said, “Once BJP government is sworn in, anti-social elements and mafia will surely have to worry. They will be ‘treated’ in the same manner as gangsters and mafia leaders were dealt with in Uttar Pradesh by Chief Minister Yogi’s police.
The murder of Suvendu Adhikari’s PA is a clear example of the extent to which professional killers have had their sway in Bengal. In spite of the defeat of Trinamool Congress at the hustings, criminals still roam fearlessly.
West Bengal has a long bloody history of murders of political workers. Five years ago, when TMC won the 2021 assembly polls, 31 persons were killed and there were 88 incidents of political violence.
In the last six years, Bengal accounted for 35 per cent of incidents of political violence in the whole country. This was the reason why nearly 700 companies of para-military forces were deployed in Bengal.
Though there was not a single incident of murder, firing or bomb blast during polling in Bengal, the murder of Suvendu’s PA is truly saddening.
Suvendu is right. West Bengal needs a Yogi model to crush criminal gangs. Fear of police must be created in the minds of gangsters.

Who is behind violence in Bengal?

The personal assistant of top Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari was shot from point blank range by three sharpshooters on Wednesday night in Madhyamgram near Kolkata.
BJP leaders have condemned this attack, saying it was a “pre-planned murder” and a clear example of the fallout of ‘jungle raj’ during Mamata Banerjee’s rule.
A Special Investigation Team has been formed to probe the murder. Suvendu Adhikari described Trinamool Congress as “a party of killers”. He said, he was confident about investigative agencies probing the case and hoped that the killers would be nabbed soon.
Suvendu Adhikari has appealed to his partymen not to resort to any act of reprisal and maintain peace. His PA Chandranath Rath was travelling in a car when three sharpshooters stopped his vehicle, and pumped bullets from a Glock pistol, according to preliminary reports. Rath died on the spot.
There had a been a spate of violence in Bengal after the assembly poll results were out on May 4. Till now, nearly 200 FIRs have been filed and 433 persons have been arrested by police.
Bengal police, along with central paramilitary forces, are raiding hideouts of anti-social elements and large quantities of arms and ammunitions have been seized.
In Sandeshkhali of North 24 Parganas district, more than 20 country-made bombs were seized. Bengal police have set up a helpline for people to dial when violent incidents take place.
On Tuesday, a Trinamool Congress temporary office in Kolkata’s Dharmatala locality was demolished by some BJP supporters, using a bulldozer. BJP leaders claimed that the party office was built illegally in the middle of a busy road.
Incidents of post-poll violence have taken place in Kolkata, North and South 24 Parganas, Asansol, Jalpaiguri, Birbhum and Bardhaman districts.
TMC leader Kunal Ghosh alleged that two of his party workers were killed in violence. He blamed the Election Commission for this spiral of violence.
The state BJP on Wednesday issued a press release asking people to beware of those who have changed their party overnight and have become BJP supporters.
The party has cautioned the public about some fake BJP supporters indulging in violence by misusing party flags. People have been asked to report such incidents to police immediately.
State BJP chief Shamik Bhattacharya met the state chief secretary and demanded that stringent action be taken against anti-social elements, whichever party they may belong to.
Since the day election results were declared, Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee appears to be finding it difficult to concede her defeat. She could be apprehensive about her supporters, who might opt to lie low after the debacle.
The face of her nephew Abhishek Banerjee, who had challenged Home Minister Amit Shah to come to Bengal after May 4, now appears pale and nervous in public.
There are reports of TMC supporters donning saffron clothes and ’tilak’, and holding BJP flags while indulging in violence. In some place, some BJP supporters have also indulged in vengeful action.
Videos of most of these acts of violence are available and it is up to the authorities to take corrective action, immediately. It is a good sign that police have swung into action and incidents of violence have declined.
For BJP, it will be a challenge to ensure peace, end fear in the minds of public and establish rule of law.

बंगाल में हिंसा के पीछे कौन?

बंगाल में भाजपा नेता शुभेंदु अधिकारी के पर्सनल असिस्टेंट चंद्रनाथ रथ की निर्मम हत्या से वहां की राजनीति में उबाल आ गया है. भाजपा के नेताओं ने कहा कि यह टीएमसी के जंगल राज का नमूना है. इस हत्याकांड की जांच के लिए एक एसआईटी (विशेष जांच टीम) बनाई गई है.
शुभेंदु अधिकारी ने कहा कि तृणमूल कांग्रेस “हत्यारों की पार्टी है” और उन्हें पूरा भरोसा है कि जांच एजेंसियां हत्यारों को पकड़ कर सज़ा दिलाएगी. शुभेंदगु ने भाजपी कार्यकर्ताओं से अपील की कि वे किसी भी रूप में बदले की कार्रवाई न करें और शांति बनाए रखें.
शुभेंदु के पी.ए. बुधवार रात को कार से अपने घर जा रहे थे, जब कोलकाता के पास मध्यमग्राम में घात लगाकर बैठे तीन लोगों ने उन पर ग्लॉक पिस्टल से गोलियां चलाई. चंद्रनाथ रथ की घटनास्थल पर मौत हो गई.
बंगाल में 4 मई को चुनाव के नतीजे आने के बाद कई जगह हिंसा की घटनाएं हुई थी. बुधवार को शांति थी लेकिन रात को ही शुभेंदु अधिकारी के पीए की हत्या कर दी गई.
पूरे राज्य में चुनाव आयोग के कड़े निर्देश और पुलिस की सख्ती के बाद अब हालात काबू में तो हैं, लेकिन शुभेंदु के पीएम की हत्या से तनाव पैजा हो गया है.
बंगाल में चुनाव के बाद हुई हिंसा के तकरीबन 200 मामलों की FIR दर्ज की गई है और 433 लोगों को गिरफ़्तार किया गया है.
बंगाल पुलिस और अर्धसैनिक बल के जवान मिलकर जगह-जगह छापे मार रहे हैं. दक्षिण 24 परगना से बड़ी तादाद में घातक और धारदार हथियार बरामद किए गए हैं.
उत्तर 24 परगना ज़िले के संदेशखाली से 20 से ज़्यादा बम बरामद हुए हैं. बंगाल पुलिस ने हेल्पलाइन शुरू की है जिस पर कोई भी हिंसा होने पर शिकायत दर्ज करा सकता है.
शुभेंदु अधिकारी ने कहा कि तृणमूल कांग्रेस के खिलाफ लोगों में नाराज़गी है, इसलिए कुछ जगहों पर तृणमूल कांग्रेस के दफ्तरों पर हमले हुए हैं, लेकिन भाजपा कार्यकर्ता इस तरह के काम न करें.
मंगलवार को कोलकाता के धर्मतला इलाक़े में जीत का जश्न मना रहे बीजेपी कार्यकर्ताओं ने तृणमूल कांग्रेस के एक दफ्तर को बुल्डोज़र से गिरा दिया था. बीजेपी के कार्यकर्ताओं का कहना था कि TMC का ये दफ्तर गैरकानूनी तरीके से सड़क के बीचोंबीच बनाया गया हैस इसलिए इसे तोड़ा गया.
चुनाव के नतीजे आने के बाद कोलकाता, हावड़ा, उत्तर 24 परगना, दक्षिण 24 परगना, आसनसोल, जलपाईगुड़ी, बीरभूम और बर्धमान में मारपीट और तोड़फोड़ की घटनाएं हुईं.
तृणमूल कांग्रेस के नेताओं का आरोप है कि चुनाव जीतने के बाद से बीजेपी के समर्थक पार्टी के दफ़्तरों पर हमले कर रहे हैं और उनके समर्थकों को टारगेट कर रहे हैं.
तृणमूल कांग्रेस के नेता कुणाल घोष ने कहा है कि चुनाव के बाद हुई हिंसा में उनके दो कार्यकर्ता मारे गए और इसके लिए चुनाव आयोग ज़िम्मेदार है.
प्रदेश भाजपा ने एक विज्ञप्ति जारी करके कहा है कि चुनाव नतीजों के बाद रातों-रात पाला बदलने वालों से लोग सावधान रहें, भाजपा का झंडा लेकर गड़बड़ करने वालों से सतर्क रहें, अगर कोई ऐसा करे तो उसकी जानकारी तुरंत पुलिस को दें.
प्रदेश भाजपा अध्यक्ष शमिक भट्टाचार्य ने बंगाल के मुख्य सचिव से मुलाक़ात की और हिंसा करने वालों के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई की मांग की.
चुनाव नतीजे आने के बाद साफ दिखाई दे रहा है कि ममता बनर्जी से हार बर्दाश्त नहीं हो रही है. उन्हें डर है कि उनकी पार्टी के नेता और कार्यकर्ता घबराकर घर पर न बैठ जाएं.
जो अभिषेक बनर्जी पिछले हफ्ते अमित शाह को चुनौती दे रहे थे, उनके चेहरे पर हवाईयां उड़ी हुई हैं. TMC के समर्थक कई जगह भगवा पहन कर, तिलक लगाकर अपने को बीजेपी का समर्थक बताने लगे हैं, कई जगह पर उन्होंने हिंसा भी की है, कुछ इलाकों में बीजेपी के समर्थकों ने भी मारपीट की है.
हिंसा की घटनाओं के बाद सब कुछ कैमरे पर है. ये हिंसा नहीं होनी चाहिए थी. अच्छी बात है कि पुलिस ने हिंसा पर काबू पा लिया.
अब भाजपा के लिए सबसे बड़ी चुनौती ये है कि बंगाल में शांति बनी रहे, लोगों के मन से डर खत्म हो, और कानून का राज कायम हो.
