Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Delhi today after a gap of seven years. He will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi this evening. Xi has come with a big delegation of Chinese officials and businessmen. The focus is on resetting India-China ties in trade and investment. Modi had met Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Both Modi and Putin seek stronger ties in trade and defence, even as the Russian President called for BRICS to counter attacks by Western countries on Russia’s industries and pipelines. In talks with Pezeshkian, Modi called for protecting freedom of navigation and safety of seafarers. The Iranian President blamed US for carrying out attacks on its installations.

Modi told both Putin and Pezeshkian that efforts must began to end the Ukraine and Gulf conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy. Modi’s meeting with Putin was significant in the context of decades-old cooperation in defence, energy and space sectors. Modi’s take is that, unless peace returns in Ukraine and the Gulf, how can trade improve? There is complete uncertainty across the world because of tensions in Europe and the Gulf. It was Putin who began the Ukraine war, and it was Donald Trump who ordered bombings on Iran. Both the leaders probably did not know that it is easier to start a war, but difficult to end it.

India is now the world’s fastest economy. The results could have been more spectacular had the Ukraine and Gulf wars ended. Indian companies suffered losses because of these conflicts and the supply chains were disturbed. It is because of the resilience of the Indian economy that Modi managed to steer India’s boat in the midst of this turmoil. All the three, Russia, China and Iran have been at the receiving end of the US economic sanctions. They want BRICS to evolve as a counterforce against the West and the domination of US dollar to end. But Saudi Arabia and the UAE do not agree. India will not want the BRICS to become an “anti-West forum”. This is the reason why Modi is focusing on solving global economic problems. The objective of BRICS summit will be to ensure how member countries can help one another in navigating through the problems afflicting world trade.

Will AI spin out of human control?

US research firm Anthropic says, Houthi rebels, backed by Iran, in northern Yemen, tried to use the AI model to develop advanced missiles for their campaign against Saudi Arabia. From Ukraine to Gaza, Artificial Intelligence is transforming warfare. It is being used in remote battlefields. Anthropic said, the users of the accounts were blocked after being identified. They did not succeed in fielding an operational device but did carry out a failed test of a guided rocket.

The developer of the Claude chatbot said it identified a cell in northern Yemen pursuing three different weapons programs, including a multi-variant missile that glides at hypersonic speed and a warhead that uses mobile phone hardware to manoeuvre mid-course. It said the actors in Yemen used Claude Code instead of human software engineers to develop guidance, navigation and control software. Different warheads and guidance systems can be fitted on multi-variant missiles. It is a more economical way to build land, sea and air weapons.

A top safety researcher at Anthropic has warned AI is advancing so quickly he believes there is a greater than 10% chance it “could kill all humans” within the next 10 years. Evan Hubinger posted on X, the risk from the models which currently exist was “low” but he was “worried” the technology might develop and improve itself soon to the point where it posed an existential risk to humanity. He did not elaborate. His post was in response to another X post by Jacob Coxon, an AI researcher who has just quit Anthropic and previously worked at OpenAI.

Jacob Coxon wrote, “There will soon be superhuman systems that can hack anything, revolutionize any field overnight, and acquire real power and resource.” It is a sad fact that security systems at this moment are inadequate to handle AI. Cyber security experts fear what will happen if AI spins out of control of humans? Will it pose a threat to human existence? All these years we have been watching sci-fi horror films, where rogue scientists built robot and soon it multiplied to thousands of other robots. This is no more cinema, nor is there a screenplay. If AI started taking autonomous decision without human orders, the situation can be scary.

When will Punjab get rid of drug menace?

BJP has decided to launch ‘Nasha Mukti Yatra’ across Punjab from September 18 to 30 to create awareness against drugs. BJP chief Nitin Nabin will launch the Yatra and Home Minister Amit Shah will conclude the campaign on September 30 in Jalandhar. Punjab is India’s only state badly crippled by drugs. Nearly 44.5 per cent of heroin seized across India were from Punjab last year. Synthetic drugs have now become the rage and its growth has been recorded at 400 per cent. The largest number of drugs-related arrests has been from Punjab. Entire families and even villages have suffered the drug menace. Parents watched their youths dying due to drugs, children bunking schools for drugs and others losing jobs.

Every government in the past decade or more had been promising to launch action against drugs on a war footing, but the menace continues. Will assembly polls due next year, most of the political parties will promise to get rid of this menace. But it is already assuming alarming proportions. Political parties must tell the people what concrete steps they intend to take against the scourge of drugs. Amit Shah’s record against drugs mafia is good. A record haul of drugs was seized throughout India, drug mafia gangsters were extradited from abroad. A similar action should take place in Punjab now.

सात साल बाद चीन के राष्ट्रपति शी जिनपिंग दिल्ली पहुंचे. आज शाम प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी से उनकी महत्वपूर्ण वार्ता होगी. दोनों देश आपसी व्यापार और निवेश के मामले में कदम आगे बढ़ाना चाहते हैं. शी जिनपिंग के साथ चीनी अधिकारियों और उद्योगपतियों का एक बड़ा दल भारत आया है. मोदी ने कल रूस के राष्ट्रपति व्लादीमीर पुतिन और ईरान के राष्ट्रपति मसूद पेज़ेश्कियन से बातचीत की थी.

मोदी ने पुतिन और ईरानी राष्ट्रपति को साफ बता दिया है कि आपसी व्यापार बढ़ाने का फ़ायदा तभी होगा जब शान्ति होगी, इसलिए पुतिन और पेज़ेश्कियन दोनों को यूक्रेन और मध्यपूर्व जंग खत्म करने के बारे गंभीरता से सोचना चाहिए. पुतिन और पेज़ेश्कियन ने अमेरिका और पश्चिमी देशों पर जंग को बढ़ावा देने का आरोप लगाया. मोदी ने कहा कि कारोबार के रास्ते सुरक्षित हों, जहाजों की आवाजाही में कोई रुकावट न हो, इसका सभी देश ख़्याल रखें, तभी सबकी तरक़्क़ी होगी. पेज़ेश्कियन ने ईरान की मजबूरियां गिनाईं, कहा ईरान को निशाना बनाया जा रहा है.

पेज़ेश्कियन ने इशारों इशारों में कहा कि अगर डॉलर का वर्चस्व ख़त्म हो जाए तो अमेरिका की दादागिरी ख़त्म हो जाएगी. इसलिए BRICS देशों को अपनी अपनी मुद्राओं में व्यापार करना चाहिए. मोदी और पुतिन की मुलाकात पुराने रिश्तों के लिहाज़ से अहम है. रक्षा, ऊर्जा, और space जैसे क्षेत्रों में सहयोग के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है, लेकिन अगर दुनिया में शांति नहीं होगी तो ये कारोबार, ये व्यापारिक रिश्ते किस काम के? आज पूरी दुनिया में अनिश्चितता है, जो टकराव चल रहा है, उसमें अमेरिका के साथ रूस भी बराबर के partner है.

पुतिन ने यूक्रेन से युद्ध शुरू किया था, ट्रंप ने ईरान पर बम बरसाए. दोनों नेता शायद ये नहीं जानते थे कि युद्ध शुरू करना आसान था, पर इसे ख़त्म करना इतना मुश्किल हो जाएगा. इसीलिए प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने पुतिन से एक बार फिर dialogue और diplomacy की बात की. साफ़-साफ़ कहा कि अगर रूस और यूक्रेन चाहे तो भारत शांति प्रयासों में मदद करने को तैयार है. भारत इस समय दुनिया की सबसे तेज़ी से बढ़ती हुई अर्थव्यवस्था है. युद्ध चाहे रूस और यूक्रेन का हो, या अमेरिका और ईरान का, भारत को बहुत आर्थिक नुक़सान हुआ है. ये भारत की अर्थव्यवस्था की मज़बूती है कि इस भंवर में भी मोदी ने नैया को डूबने से बचा लिया.

मोदी ने कल जो सुझाव दिए, वो अर्थव्यवस्था और व्यापार को मज़बूत करने के इरादे से दिए, लेकिन रूस, चीन और ईरान का एजेंडा थोड़ा अलग है. ये तीनों अमेरिका के सताए हुए हैं. वे चाहते हैं कि BRICS अमेरिका के ख़िलाफ़ एक ताक़त बने, डॉलर का वर्चस्व कम करने के लिए एक वैकल्पिक व्यवस्था बने. लेकिन अमेरिका का साथ देने वाले सऊदी अरब और UAE इससे सहमत नहीं होंगे. भारत भी नहीं चाहेगा कि BRICS को एक anti-West forum के रूप में देखा जाए. इसीलिए मोदी का फोकस विश्व व्यापार की समस्याओं को सुलझाने पर था. BRICS सम्मेलन में इसी बात की कोशिश होगी की कैसे सभी सदस्य देश कैसे एक दूसरे को आगे बढ़ने में मदद कर सकें.

क्या AI इंसानों के काबू से बाहर हो जाएगा?

मध्य पूर्व में चल रही जंग को लेकर कल एक खुलासा हुआ. AI research firm Anthropic की एक report में दावा किया गया कि हूती विद्रोही AI की मदद से missiles और rocket बनाने की कोशिश कर रहे थे. यमन में मौजूद Weapons Engineering Cell ने Claude Code के इस्तेमाल से तीन missile प्रोग्राम्स पर काम किया. इनमें एक guided rocket, 2000 किलोमीटर से ज्यादा की range वाली ballistic missile और ‘R-2000′ नाम का एक missile set शामिल है.

ये खुलासा पूरी दुनिया को tension में डालने वाला है. Anthropic की रिपोर्ट में बताया गया है कि AI जिस तेजी से बढ़ रहा है, उससे AI के गलत इस्तेमाल की आशंका भी बढ़ गई है. आने वाले वक्त में AI इंसानों के अस्तित्व के लिए भी सबसे बड़ा खतरा साबित हो सकता है. Anthropic के alignment और safety researcher इवान हुबिंगर का दावा है कि अगले 10 साल में AI इंसानी सभ्यता के लिए सबसे बड़ा खतरा बन सकता है. इस रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि, चेतावनी की मुख्य वजह ‘AI alignment problem’ है जिसका मतलब ये है कि researchers अभी तक ऐसा कोई foolproof तरीका नहीं खोज पाए हैं, जो इस बात की 100% गारंटी दे सके कि AI सिस्टम हमेशा मानवीय मूल्यों, नैतिकता, और सुरक्षा निर्देशों का पालन करेंगे.

Anthropic की रिपोर्ट में दावा किया गया है कि जैसे-जैसे AI मॉडल अधिक intelligent हो रहे हैं, वे human control से बाहर होकर खुद फैसले लेने लगेंगे और मानव जाति के अस्तित्व के खिलाफ जा सकते हैं. ये बात सही है कि AI के लिए इस समय के security systems नाकाफ़ी हैं. Cyber security experts को डर है कि अगर AI इंसान के क़ाबू से बाहर हो गया तो क्या होगा? क्या बेक़ाबू AI मानवों के लिए ख़तरा बन जाएगा?

ये बिल्कुल वैसा ही विचार है जैसा हम science fiction फिल्मों में देखते हैं, जहां एक scientist robot बनाता है और फिर वो robot हज़ारों robots बनाकर अपनी एक फ़ौज खड़ी कर लेता है. लेकिन अब बात किसी सिनेमा की, किसी screenplay की नहीं है. अगर AI बिना मानव के आदेश के अपने आप फ़ैसले लेने लगे तो ये वाक़ई खतरनाक हो सकता है. अभी हमें इक्का-दुक्का मामले देखने को मिले हैं. कहीं AI ने नक़ली पहचान बना ली कहीं ख़ुद ही data delete कर दिया, कहीं किसी दूसरे AI system पर वार किया, तो क्या होगा? AI experts को लगता है कि अगर अभी क़दम नहीं उठाए गए तो 10 साल में ये वाक़ई नियंत्रण से बाहर जा सकता है.

पंजाब में नशे का क़हर कब खत्म होगा?

पंजाब में चुनाव से पहले ड्रग्स बड़ा राजनीतिक मुद्दा बन गया है. बीजेपी पूरे राज्य में ‘नशा मुक्त पंजाब यात्रा’ निकालेगी. 18 सितंबर को बीजेपी अध्यक्ष नितिन नवीन इस कैंपेन की शुरुआत पठानकोट से करेंगे. 30 सितंबर को अमित शाह की मौजूदगी में जालंधर में इसका समापन होगा. नशे से अगर कोई राज्य सबसे ज़्यादा त्रस्त है तो वो पंजाब है. पिछले साल पूरे देश में जितनी Heroin ज़ब्त की गई, उसका 44.5 प्रतिशत पंजाब में पकड़ा गया.

अब पंजाब में synthetic drugs तेज़ी से बढ़ने लगी है. इनकी growth 400% से ज़्यादा है. NDPS कानून के सबसे ज़्यादा cases पंजाब में होते हैं. Drugs के चक्कर में सबसे ज़्यादा गिरफ्तारियां पंजाब में होती हैं. नशे के कारण परिवार के परिवार, गांव के गांव बर्बाद हो गए. पंजाब ने नशे के कारण नौजवानों को तड़प-तड़प कर मरते देखा है, बच्चों को स्कूल छोड़कर भागते देखा है, नौजवानों की नौकरियां छूटते देखा है और नशे के चक्कर में ज़मीन जायदाद बिकते देखा है. हर सरकार कहती है कि वो नशे के ख़िलाफ़ युद्ध स्तर पर लड़ेगी लेकिन अबतक कोई ख़ास असर दिखाई नहीं दिया.

अब चुनाव का मौक़ा है. सारी पार्टियां नशे के ज़हर से लोगों को निजात दिलाने की कसम खाएंगी लेकिन ये ख़तरा अब विकराल रूप ले चुका है. होना तो ये चाहिए कि इस बार चुनाव से पहले सारी पार्टियां जनता को ये बताएं कि वो नशे के सौदागरों से लड़ने के लिए क्या कदम उठाएंगी. Drugs माफ़िया से लड़ने के मामले में अमित शाह का रिकॉर्ड अच्छा है. देशभर में record मात्रा में drugs बरामद की गई हैं. विदेशों से drug माफ़िया को पकड़ कर भारत लाया गया है. अब इसी तरह का एक्शन पंजाब में भी होना चाहिए.

Leaders of BRICS nations have started gathering in Delhi for a two-day weekend summit to be followed by a Delhi Declaration. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin held bilateral talks ahead of the summit on Friday.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will arrive in Delhi on Saturday after a gap of seven years. This will be Xi’s first visit to India since the Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops in Ladakh.

BRICS, originally a grouping of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, has expanded to include 11 countries. These nations represent about half the world’s population and more than 40 per cent of world GDP. India is eyeing purchase of S-500 missile systems and Su-57 fighter jets from Russia, apart from inking agreements on purchase of rare earth, etc.

Xi is coming with a big delegation of Chinese businessmen and officials from China National Petroleum Corporation, China Cosco Shipping Corporation, Alibaba and Huawei industrial groups. India exports only $20 billion worth goods to China but imports a whopping $131 billion worth goods from its neighbour. With multilateral organizations, including the UN, failing to meet their objectives, the world is waiting for a new order to emerge.

India cannot wait. It wants BRICS to be used as a fulcrum for rewriting new rules for an economic order. With the Ukraine conflict on, Russia is carrying out its trade with India and China in rubles. India, which was following the rules of US-led economic order, is now exploring opportunities to frame new rules. This is a big change.

Xi Jinping’s India visit is significant. India-China relations had taken a downturn after the Galwan Valley clash. It was Modi who initiated a fresh beginning from last year’s SCO summit. It was left to ‘Dhurandhar’ NSA Ajit Doval to finalize Xi’s India visit when he landed in Beijing for boundary dispute talks. China is eyeing a big market in India, which needs rare earths, electronic components and machinery from its neighbour.

Xi’s one-to-one talks with Modi tomorrow is going to set the pace for a new reset in bilateral relations. Modi’s second most important guest is Vladimir Putin. India-Russia friendship got a new fillip three years ago, when India decided to buy Russian oil ignoring Western sanctions.

With Modi, Xi and Putin meeting in Delhi, US President Donald Trump will naturally be all eyes and ears. Is a new world order in the offing? Time will tell. The visit of Iranian President Pezeshkian to BRICS summit is another significant development. Iran has kept Trump on his toes since the conflict began in February. The world is waiting for the US-Iran conflict to end because it has disrupted supply chains across continents.

With all eyes of Modi, can a way be found out to bring the US-Iran conflict to an end? Let us wait.

Mecca Pact : How Pakistan betrayed Saudis

Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir today discussed the recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia with Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araghchi. Asim Munir reportedly urged the Iranian foreign minister to rein in the Houthis before the conflict between Houthi rebels and Saudi Arabia escalates further.

Houthis are a militant group in Yemen often regarded as a proxy group backed by Iran and part of Tehran’s “axis of resistance” in the West Asia region, like Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Hezbollah in Lebanon. According to latest reports, Houthi rebels today reached the strategic island of Perim in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait tightening their grip on one of the world’s most important shipping routes.

Yemeni government sources said, its forces have withdrawn from Perim and the Houthis have also taken control of the mainland Red Sea coastal town of Dhubab, which faces the island. Pakistan is now caught in a Catch-22 situation. It does not want to antagonize either Saudi Arabia or Iran.

Pakistan defence minister Khwaja Asif had earlier warned of activating the Mecca Defence Pact in view of the escalating conflict between Saudis and Houthis. But later he toned down saying the Mecca Pact is not “aggressive in nature,” but if there any member country is attacked, the other two countries will be driven to respond.

Pakistan’s foreign ministry clarified that no military plan is in place to counter the aggression by Houthi rebels. The fact is, Gen Asim Munir signed the Mecca Pact with Saudi Arabia to mislead the people of Pakistan. With the Houthi rebels knocking at the doors of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan’s policy has been exposed. Its leaders are engaged in all talk and no action.

In Hindi, we call it “Bayaan Bahadur” (empty boast). Earlier, Asim Munir and Shehbaz Sharif misled Donald Trump by promising to get a deal done with Iran and make the latter surrender, but its bluff was called and the promises proved to be hollow.

Now that Houthi rebels are advancing towards Saudi Arabia, Pakistan is badly exposed. In Hindi, we say, “Lene Ke Deney Pad Gaye” (It backfired).

Jadavpur : Suvendu will break Left’s last bastion

The West Bengal Assembly yesterday passed by the WB Universities and Colleges (Administration and Regulation) (Amendment) Bill. It empowers the government to transfer teaching and non-teaching staff from one state university to another.

Speaking in the assembly, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said, “we will use the law to send the self-proclaimed pandits to some of the newly opened weak universities to strengthen their infrastructure. Those teachers who are unwilling to go can resign.” Suvendu Adhikari appeared to be in full fire mode.

He said, “ They forcibly take students out of the hostel and raise slogans like ‘Kashmir Maange Azaadi’ and ‘Bharat Teri Tukde Honge’. We will break you into pieces. There has to be a limit. Those who say ‘Red Salute to Kishenji’ have all been identified. Not all of them are students. Those who are engaged in this brainwashing also need some strong medicine…It is time to uproot the seeds of Naxalism in Bengal.”

Left parties and Trinamool Congress have threatened to go to the streets and courts to challenge this law. Jadavpur University has been a strong bastion of the Left since several decades. Recently, there were clashes between Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and Left students over removal of wall graffiti.

In Jadavpur University, while students pass out after studies and leave, the teachers remain entrenched and they carry on with their pro-Left agenda. With Suvendu Adhikari bringing a new law for transfer of teachers to other universities, a new era is going to begin. This is the reason why the Left is up in arms.

दिल्ली में होने वाली BRICS summit पर इस वक़्त पूरी दुनिया की नज़रें लगी हुई हैं. सबको उम्मीद है कि बुद्ध के देश से युद्ध को ख़त्म करने का रास्ता निकल सकता है. रूस-यूक्रेन की जंग और अमेरिका-ईरान युद्ध पर प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी रूस के राष्ट्रपति व्लादीमीर पुतिन और ईरान के राष्ट्रपति मसूद पेज़ेश्कियान से बात करेंगे.

सात साल बाद चीन के राष्ट्रपति शी जिनपिंग भी भारत आ रहे हैं. गलवान संघर्ष के बाद पहली बार भारत में शी जिनपिंग के साथ मोदी की वार्ता होगी. दुनिया की आधी आबादी और चालीस प्रतिशत GDP वाले देशों के राष्ट्रपति और प्रधानमंत्री दिल्ली में होंगे. कई बड़े व्यापारिक समझौते और रक्षा सौदे भी होंगे. रूस से S-500 मिसाइल सिस्टम और Sukhoi-57 फाइटर जेट ख़रीदने पर मुहर लग सकती है. शी जिनपिंग के साथ जो प्रतिनिधिमंडल आ रहा है, उसमें चाइना नेशनल पेट्रोलियम कॉरपोरेशन, चाइना कॉस्को शिपिंग कॉरपोरेशन और जनरल टेक्नोलॉजी ग्रुप जैसी सरकारी कंपनियों के अलावा अलीबाबा और ह्वावेई जैसी प्राइवेट कंपनियों के प्रतिनिधि भी होंगे.

चीन भारत के साथ व्यापार बढ़ाना चाहता है. भारत की कोशिश है कि व्यापार में संतुलन हो. इस वक्त दोनों देशों के बीच 151 अरब डॉलर का कारोबार होता है लेकिन इसमें से सिर्फ 20 अरब डॉलर का सामान भारत चीन को भेजता है, जबकि 131 अरब डॉलर का सामान चीन भारत को भेजता है. BRICS में भारत की भूमिका महत्वपूर्ण क्यों है, ये समझना ज़रूरी है. जबसे संयुक्त राष्ट्र जैसे मंच फेल हुए, दुनिया एक नई व्यवस्था का इंतज़ार कर रही है. भारत अब इंतज़ार नहीं कर सकता इसीलिए BRICS जैसे फोरम का इस्तेमाल नए नियम, नई इबारत लिखने के लिए होना चाहिए, जैसे, अमेरिका डॉलर पर निर्भरता कम करने का काम BRICS के ज़रिए हो सकता है. रूस ने भारत और चीन के साथ अपना ज़्यादातर कारोबार रूबल मुद्रा में किया है. अब तक भारत दुनिया के बनाए नियमों का पालन करता था, अब भारत के पास अवसर है नए नियम लिखने का, जिनका दुनिया पालन करेगी. ये एक बहुत बड़ा बदलाव है.

शी जिनपिंग का भारत आना एक महत्वपूर्ण घटना है. छह साल पहले गलवान घाटी में भारत और चीन के सैनिकों के बीच झड़प के बाद से चीन के साथ रिश्ते बिगड़ गए थे. लेकिन पिछले साल SCO की बैठक में नरेंद्र मोदी ने रिश्तों को नये सिरे से जोड़ा. फिर धुरंधर अजित डोभाल ने बीजिंग जाकर शी जिनपिंग की भारत यात्रा को फाइनल किया. इसके लिए बहुत कुछ करना पड़ा. भारत और चीन के बीच सीमा विवाद तो चलता रहेगा पर चीन को भारत में बड़ा बाज़ार दिखाई देता है. भारत भी rare earth, इलेक्ट्रोनिक पुर्ज़े और मशीनरी के लिए चीन पर निर्भर है क्योंकि इनके न होने से हमारी फैक्ट्रियों की manufacturing पर असर पड़ता है. इस बार शी जिनपिंग का आना, मोदी से one to one मीटिंग करना, इस बात का संकेत है कि दोनों देश रिश्तों की अहमियत को समझते हैं.

मोदी के दूसरे मेहमान राष्ट्रपति पुतिन हैं. उनसे पिछले तीन साल में दोस्ती और भी पक्की हो गई है. जब रूस संकट में था तो भारत ने उसका साथ दिया. अमेरिका के कड़े विरोध के बाद भी मोदी ने रूस से तेल ख़रीदा. अब जब ट्रंप दिल्ली में मोदी, जिनपिंग और पुतिन को साथ-साथ देखेंगे तो चिंता तो होगी. क्या एक नए world order की तैयारी हो रही है ? ये सवाल भी उठेगा. BRICS समिट की एक और बड़ी बात ये है कि दिल्ली में ईरान के राष्ट्रपति मसूद पेज़ेश्कियान भी होंगे. सारी दुनिया जानती है कि ईरान ने ट्रंप को परेशान किया हुआ है. ट्रंप और ईरान की जंग ने पूरी दुनिया को बेहाल और बेबस कर दिया है. सारी दुनिया की नज़र मोदी पर है. क्या अमेरिका और ईरान की जंग रुकवाने का रास्ता दिल्ली से निकलेगा ? आने वाले दो दिनों में इन सारे सवालों के जवाब मिलेंगे.

मक्का पैक्ट : पाक ने सऊदी को भी दग़ा दिया

ब्रिक्स समिट से पाकिस्तान भी परेशान है. पिछले दिनों पाकिस्तान ने सऊदी अरब और तुर्किए के साथ मक्का संधि की थी. इसमें ये प्रावधान था कि अगर इनमें से किसी एक देश पर हमला हुआ, तो बाकी दो देश उसकी मदद करने आएंगे. पाकिस्तान के रक्षा मंत्री ख्वाजा आसिफ ने कहा कि यमन में मौजूद हूती बाग़ी, जिन्हें ईरान का समर्थन मिल रहा है, सऊदी अरब पर हमले कर रहे हैं. सऊदी तेल रिफाइनरी और आवासीय इलाकों पर मिसाइलों से वार कर रहे हैं. ख्वाजा आसिफ अब सफाई दे रहे हैं कि मक्का संधि सामूहिक डिफेंस को लेकर है, न कि किसी देश पर हमले के लिए है. पाकिस्तान के रक्षा मंत्री गोलमोल बातें कर रहे हैं. उन्होंने ईरान को भी अपना दोस्त बताया और सऊदी अरब के साथ मक्का पैक्ट की भी बात की. पाकिस्तान विदेश मंत्रालय ने कहा है कि हूती बाग़ी हमले कर रहे हैं लेकिन ऐसे हमले पहले भी होते रहे हैं, इसलिए फिलहाल ऐसे हालात नहीं हैं कि पाकिस्तान को फौज भेजनी पड़े.

असल में जनरल आसिम मुनीर ने पाकिस्तान की जनता को मुग़ालते में रखने के लिए सऊदी अरब से pact किया. शर्त ये थी कि सऊदी पर अगर हमला होगा तो पाकिस्तान अपनी फ़ौज भेजेगा. अब हूतियों ने हमला कर दिया तो पाकिस्तान के नेता सिर्फ बयान बहादुर बने हुए हैं. पहले भी पाकिस्तान ने ट्रंप को झांसा दिया था कि वो ईरान से डील करवा देगा, ट्रंप के सामने सरेंडर करवा देगा लेकिन जब बात हुई तो पाकिस्तान की पोल खुल गई. उसके दावे खोखले साबित हुए. अब सऊदी पर हमला हुआ है तो पाकिस्तान एक बार फिर बुरी तरह expose हो गया. उसे लेने के देने पड़ गए.

जादवपुर : शुभेंदु तोड़ेंगे बंगाल में वामपंथियों का गढ़

पश्चिम बंगाल में मुख्यमंत्री शुभेंदु अधिकारी की सरकार ने विधानसभा में एक बिल पास करवाया. इस बिल में ये प्रावधान है कि बंगाल के विश्वविद्यालयों में शिक्षक और गैर शिक्षक कर्मियों का ट्रांसफर होगा. शुभेंदु अधिकारी ने कहा कि जो लोग ट्रांसफर-पोस्टिंग होने की खबर से मायूस हैं, वो अपनी नौकरी छोड़ सकते हैं. मुख्यमंत्री पूरे फायर मोड में नज़र आए. उन्होंने कहा कि जादवपुर विश्वविद्यालय में राष्ट्रविरोधी ताकतों के साथ-साथ उनके समर्थकों का इलाज करने का समय आ गया है.

शुभेंदु ने कहा, अगर जादवपुर वि.वि. में कश्मीर मांगे आजादी के नारे लगाए गए, तो इस बार गांधीजी की भाषा में नहीं, नेताजी की भाषा में जवाब दिया जाएगा. इस बिल के पास होने से TMC भड़की हुई है. उनका आरोप है कि जादवपुर वि.वि. से प्रोफेसरों को नौकरी से निकालने के लिए सरकार ये बिल लाई है. शुभेंदु अधिकारी ने इसका जवाब दिया. कहा, जादवपुर यूनिवर्सिटी एक राष्ट्रीय विरासत है, उसे 1300 करोड़ रुपये का अनुदान दिया जाएगा लेकिन भारत को तोड़ने की बात करने वालों के ‘टुकड़े-टुकड़े’ कर दिए जाएंगे.

जादवपुर यूनिवर्सिटी को वामपंथियों का गढ़ माना जाता है. CPM के नेता मुस्तफिजुर रहमान ने कहा कि सरकार इस विश्वविद्यालय को बर्बाद करना चाहती है, इसके खिलाफ वामपंथी दल सड़क से सुप्रीम कोर्ट तक जाएंगे. ये तो कोई सीक्रेट नहीं है कि जादवपुर यूनिवर्सिटी पर बरसों से कम्युनिस्टों का क़ब्ज़ा है. यहां की faculties से लेकर students तक ज्यादातर लोग वामपंथी विचारधारा को मानने वाले हैं. छात्र तो पास आउट होकर चले जाते हैं, लेकिन कम्युनिस्ट विचारधारा वाले प्रोफेसर कई-कई बरसों तक इसी जगह टिके रहते हैं और अपना एजेंडा चलाते हैं. इस वर्चस्व को तोड़ने का शुभेंदु अधिकारी ने नायाब तरीक़ा निकाला है. अब teachers का दूसरे विश्वविद्यालयों में ट्रांसफर किया जा सकेगा. इसीलिए वामपंथी दल इसका इतना विरोध कर रहे हैं.

With the Municipal Corporation of Delhi carrying out demolition and survey of private PG hostels across all 12 zones, the question arises how to accommodate thousands of students who want to pursue higher studies in the capital.

MCD claims, 34 structures were demolished, 12 buildings were sealed, and notices sent to 22 owners for violation of building byelaws. 1,243 structures have been identified where paying guest accommodation is provided to roughly 24,000 people.

There are 29 universities in Delhi apart from several hundred coaching centres. Delhi University has 91 affiliated colleges, out of which only 20 colleges provide limited accommodation in hostels. DU has more than seven lakh students and hostels are available for only 11,500.

Most of the students are forced to stay in private PG accommodation out of compulsion. I have seen private accommodation for overseas students in Britain. They are governed by the Housing Act 2004, which clearly lays out safety standards, tenancy regulations, and codes of practice.

Students get private accommodation based on these rules. A common kitchen and washing machine are a must. Owners have to comply with strict local council standards. No compromise is made on fire safety and emergency exits. Every property must have a working smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector on each floor.

Furniture provided must be fire resistant, the owner must submit gas safety certificate every year. He must ensure that all electrical appliances are safe. Most of the universities and colleges in Britain help in providing accommodation to students. We also have strict byelaws, but only on paper. No PG owner follows these rules.

Now is the time to enforce all such byelaws and standards strictly and solve this problem.

Full Vande Mataram: Why is Congress uneasy?

The Congress is exerting pressure on its allies in INDIA bloc not to sing the full version of Vande Mataram national song. On September 7, at the international film festival event in Srinagar, National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah stood with the audience, as the full version of the national song was played out.

Congress general secretary K. C. Venugopal has asked Dr Farooq Abdullah and CM Omar Abdullah not to sing the full version, but only the first two stanzas approved by freedom fighters. National Conference MLA Tanvir Sadiq said, Congress must first give the same advice to its chief ministers in Telangana and Karnataka.

As far as NC is concerned, he said, it will follow the law enacted by Parliament. BJP president Nitin Nabin targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, by using the phrase ‘Miyan Rahul’. Nabin said, ‘Miyan Rahul’ is ignorant about Indian culture and freedom struggle and is opposing the full version of Vande Mataram for political advantage. If Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah can accept the full version of Vande Mataram, what is the problem with Congress party?

As far as the 1937 Congress resolution about accepting first two stanzas of Vande Mataram is concerned, it was passed when India was undivided. Pakistan did not come into existence. Those in the Muslim League who had then objected to the other stanzas have since packed their bags and left for Pakistan.

A senior Congress leader said, the root of the problem lies in Kerala, where Congress and Indian Union Muslim League are allies. The Congress is dependent on support of Muslim League for votes of minorities.

Iran war: When will Trump stop?

The US-Iran conflict has escalated with the American forces sinking five Iranian oil tankers in trouble-torn Strait of Hormuz. Iran swiftly retaliated by attacking US bases with at least 50 missiles.

The Strait of Hormuz is closed for navigation. A total of 467 ships are stuck in Hormuz. These include 162 cargo ships, 42 tankers, 51 fishing ships, 26 passenger ships and 62 other vessels. The price of Brent crude in the international market has crossed $100 per barrel.

US President Donald Trump says, “the war will end immediately after the election (in US)”. Trump hopes Iran will bow after the US elections are over. Meanwhile, the economic world is in turmoil due to rise in crude prices. UAE, which wanted to become the world’s biggest commercial hub, finds its dreams dashed to the ground.

Trump’s popularity ratings have declined in the US because of the Iran conflict. People across the world want an early end to the war.

दिल्ली में गैरकानूनी तरीके से बनी इमारतों के खिलाफ अभियान चल रहा है. हर हॉस्टल और PG की जांच हो रही है, सब के दस्तावेज़ देखे जा रहे हैं. नगर निगम के सभी बारह ज़ोन्स में 34 इमारतें गिराई गईं, 12 इमारतें सील की गईं और 22 मकान मालिकों को नोटिस भेजे गए.

जो भी मकान दिल्ली मास्टर प्लान और बिल्डिंग नियमों का उल्लंघन करके बने हैं, उनके खिलाफ कार्रवाई हो रही है. ऐसे 1,243 मकानों का पता लगाया गया है जहां PG चल रही है और जिनमें तकरीबन 24 हजार लोग रह रहे हैं. दिल्ली में कुल 29 विश्वविद्यालय हैं, सैकड़ों कोचिंग सेंटर्स हैं. अकेले दिल्ली यूनीवर्सिटी में 91 कॉलेज हैं, इनमें से सिर्फ बीस कॉलेजों के पास हॉस्टल हैं. 71 कॉलेजों के छात्रों को अपने रहने का इंतजाम खुद करना होता है.

दिल्ली में सात लाख छात्र पढ़ने आते हैं और कॉलेजों में हॉस्टल की सीटें साढ़े ग्यारह हजार हैं. अब सवाल है कि बाक़ी छात्र कहां जाएं, कहां रहें, पढ़ाई कैसे करें ? मैंने ब्रिटेन में छात्रों के लिए private accommodation देखा है. वो वहां के Housing Act 2004 से govern होते हैं. इसके तहत safety standards, tenancy regulations और codes of practice जैसे नियम हैं. छात्रों का private accommodation इन्हीं नियमों के आधार पर चलता है. कमरे के साथ common kitchen और washing machine ज़रूरी है, और उनके लिए भी strict local council standards का पालन करना पड़ता है. Fire safety और emergency exit पर किसी तरह का compromise नहीं होता.

हर ऐसी प्रॉपर्टी में हर floor पर working smoke alarm और carbon monoxide detectors होना ज़रूरी है. जो furniture supply होता है वो भी fire resistant होना चाहिए. मकान मालिक को सालाना gas safety certificate दिखाना पड़ता है और ये सुनिश्चित करना पड़ता है कि सारे electrical appliances safe हैं. ज़्यादातर विश्वविद्यालय और कॉलेज रिहाइश दिलवाने में छात्रों की मदद करते हैं. छात्र सिर्फ़ उन्हीं जगहों पर रहते हैं, जो खास तौर से इस क़ानून के तहत बनाई गई हैं. क़ानून तो हमारे यहां भी है, लेकिन सिर्फ़ फ़ाइलों में. नियम तो हमने भी बनाए हैं, लेकिन इनका पालन कोई नहीं करता. अब मौक़ा है, इन सारे नियमों को सख़्ती से लागू करवाने का, इस समस्या को जड़ से ख़त्म करने का.

पूरा वन्दे मातरम् : कांग्रेस में इतनी बेचैनी क्यों?

कांग्रेस INDI alliance की दूसरी पार्टियों पर इस बात का प्रेशर बना रही है कि वो भी पूरे वंदे मातरम् के गायन का विरोध करें. 7 सितंबर को श्रीनगर में इंटरनेशनल फिल्म फेस्टिवल का उद्घाटन हुआ जिसमें पूरा वंदे मातरम् गाया गया. मुख्यमंत्री उमर अब्दुल्ला और फारूक अब्दुल्ला खड़े रहे. इस पर कांग्रेस भड़क गई. कांग्रेस महासचिव के. सी. वेणुगोपाल ने नेशनल कॉन्फ्रेंस के अध्यक्ष फारूक़ अब्दुल्ला और मुख्यमंत्री उमर अब्दुल्ला से कहा है कि वो पूरा वंदे मातरम् न गाएं, सिर्फ दो अंतरे ही गाएं क्योंकि स्वाधीनता सेनानियों ने सिर्फ दो अंतरों को ही राष्ट्रगीत का हिस्सा माना था. कांग्रेस की ये नसीहत नेशनल कॉन्फ्रेंस को पसंद नहीं आई.

नेशनल कॉन्फ्रेंस के विधायक तनवीर सादिक ने कहा कि पार्टी उस कानून का पालन करेगी जिसे संसद ने पास किया है. बीजेपी अध्यक्ष नितिन नवीन ने राहुल गांधी पर सीधा वार किया और उन्हें “मियां राहुल” कह कर संबोधित किया. नितिन नवीन ने कहा कि ‘मियां राहुल’ को भारत की संस्कृति और स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के बारे में कुछ पता ही नहीं है, इसीलिए वह सियासी फायदे के चक्कर में वंदे मातरम् का विरोध कर रहे हैं. अगर डॉ. फारूक़ अब्दुल्ला और उमर अब्दुल्ला पूरा वंदे मातरम् गा सकते हैं, तो कांग्रेस के बाक़ी नेताओं को क्या समस्या है ? जहां तक कांग्रेस के 1937 के प्रस्ताव का सवाल है, उस समय भारत अविभाजित था, पाकिस्तान नहीं बना था. जिन्हें पूरा वंदे मातरम् गाने पर आपत्ति थी, वो पाकिस्तान चले गए.

कांग्रेस के एक नेता ने बताया कि समस्या कांग्रेस का पुराना प्रस्ताव नहीं है. समस्या की जड़ केरल में है जहां कांग्रेस ने मुस्लिम लीग के साथ मिलकर सरकार बनाई है. केरल में मुस्लिम वोटों के लिए कांग्रेस मुस्लिम लीग पर निर्भर है. वैसे भी कांग्रेस को ये impression है कि पूरा वंदे मातरम् गाने से मुसलमानों की भावनाएं आहत होंगी, वे नाराज़ हो जाएंगे. इसीलिए जब फारूक़ अब्दुल्ला और उमर अब्दुल्ला ने पूरा वंदे मातरम् गाया तो कांग्रेस को परेशानी हुई. रही सही कसर नितिन नवीन ने पूरी कर दी.

ईरान से युद्ध : ट्रम्प कब रुकेंगे?

अमेरिका और ईरान की जंग फिर से तेज हो गई है. अमेरिकी फौज ने स्ट्रेट ऑफ हॉर्मूज में 5 ईरानी तेल टैंकर्स को डुबो दिया. जवाब में ईरान की फौज ने अमेरिका के सैन्य ठिकानों पर 50 मिसाइल्स दागीं. जंग की वजह से एक बार फिर हॉर्मूज़ पूरी तरह बंद हो गई है. हॉर्मूज में 467 जहाज फंसे हुए हैं. इनमें से 162 कार्गो शिप, 42 टैंकर, 51 फिशिंग शिप, 26 पैसेंजर शिप हैं और 62 दूसरे शिप शामिल हैं. इधर, अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजार में कच्चे तेल की कीमत 100 डॉलर प्रति बैरल के पार चली गई है.

अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप का कहना है कि ये हाल अगले नवम्बर तक अमेरिका में चुनाव खत्म होने तक चलेगा और उसके बाद तेल का भाव गिरेगा. ट्रंप को उम्मीद है कि उसके बाद ईरान झुकेगा. तेल का दाम बढ़ने से पूरी दुनिया को नुकसान हो रहा है. UAE का दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा commercial hub बनने का सपना टूट गया है. ईरान युद्ध के कारण ट्रंप की popularity ratings गिरी हैं. सब चाहते हैं कि ट्रंप वास्तविकता को समझें और इस युद्ध को जल्द समाप्त करें.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to youths in Vadodara marking a significant shift in his connect with voters. Unlike other official events, the Vadodara event was striking. With a Y-shaped ramp, music from ‘Dhurandhar’ movie, mobile holding youths and online entry through BookMyShow, the event was organized.

Modi was at his charming best. Soon as booking opened online, all the seats were filled up, while over 42,000 people were on the waiting list when booking closed. This was youth-focused political branding by Modi. The outreach followed Modi’s last weekend appearance at Delhi’s Shri Ram College of Commerce. Clearly, Modi is repositioning his public image among India’s youngest voters.

Modi spoke from his heart. He said that youths cannot be misguided through ‘Jhooth Ki Goonj’. The PM also spoke about “naaraz fufa” (gruffy uncles), who, he said, are spreading negativity, even when the government launches projects like the dedicated freight corridor between Vadodara and Mumbai JLN port. India, Modi said, is on the cusp of building world-class highways and rail routes and the nation is progressing fast.

The PM said, during Congress rule, projects were announced and remained in files, but in the last 12 years, projects are being completed with the speed of bullet trains. First SRCC and then Vadodara. Modi is trying to set up a direct connect with young minds. The PM understands how youths have been troubled recently because of paper leaks, exam cancellations and now accommodation problems in Delhi NCR. Modi told youths that he was aware of their problems and most of the demands of students made at Jantar Mantar have been met.

A committee of experts is going into the issue of reforming the examination system. Bulldozers are in action in Delhi to demolish illegal constructions running as PG hostels. Modi’s message to the youth was quite clear: Do not be swayed by the grumpiness of ‘fufajis’ (uncles). ‘Fufas’ have this habit of nitpicking unnecessarily. They find negativity in all matters. Another point of Modi’s connect with the youth was on sunshine sectors like AI, IT, space, data centres, semiconductors.

He explained the action plan being worked out for these sectors and promised youths of better opportunities coming in the months ahead. This is not the first time that Modi has done this connect with Youth India. For years, he has been advising school students during exam time in ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’.

He has also been interacting frequently with young sport stars after every major tournament. The most interesting part is, Modi has learnt the lingo of youths. We will see the effect in the coming months.

Delhi PG collapse : Action begins, but what about displaced students?

Delhi government has swung into action after the unfortunate collapse of a PG hostel building on Sunday at Satya Niketan. Today, two more were arrested. The operator of the PG hostel and the labour contractor have been nabbed by police. The building adjoining the one that collapsed on Sunday, was also demolished today.

Delhi government is drafting a new law to regulate hostels and paying guest houses being run in the capital. A committee headed by minister Ashish Sood is drafting the bill and it will be brought in the Assembly within two months. Meanwhile, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) officials have begun inspection of hostels and PGs in Laxmi Nagar, Lalita Park, Shakarpur and other localities.

They are checking documents related to Fire NOCs and permission for running hostels. Structures that are being found weak are being sealed for demolition. One MCD junior engineer found that 10 rooms were built on a single floor, with three beds in each room and the rooms partitioned by plywood boards.

The MCD has issued notices to 35 PGs and has warned their owners that they will be sealed if renovations are not done quickly. MCD officials have found 51 buildings dangerous in three zones. Orders have been issued to demolish 27 structures immediately. A fresh problem has cropped up. Most of the owners of PGs and hostels are unwilling to demolish their own buildings. In some localities, MCD officials had to face hostile situations.

The main victims are students who have come to Delhi for higher studies. They cannot stay in dangerous buildings. They are finding it difficult to rent new rooms. Advance rent paid by these students are not being returned by the owners. There is paucity of hostels for students in Delhi.

They are forced to share tiny rooms in dilapidated buildings. Secondly, most of the structures are in dangerous condition. They can collapse anytime.

Thirdly, this sordid business has been going on for years and the entire ‘system’ was part of this loot. If the Sunday building collapse has opened the eyes of Delhi government, MCD and Delhi Police, it is a good augury, but the sin that was committed in Satya Niketan must not be seen in isolation.

Bulldozer action must be taken against structures that have been built illegally. At the same time, there must be a plan to provide quick accommodation to students who come to Delhi NCR for higher studies.

Maharashtra : Do not politicize ‘garba’

In Maharashtra, Vishwa Hindu Parishad has issued guidelines to organizers of Navratra garba festivals to bar entry of Muslims into pandals. The guidelines say, those who enter garba pandals must compulsorily show their Aadhar cards, get ‘kalaava’ (sacred thread) tied on wrists and put a ‘tilak’ on forehead.

VHP spokesperson said, Navratra garba events are religious in nature where devotees sing and dance in the presence of the idol of Goddess Durga. This is connected to our faith, it is not an entertainment event, he said. This is nothing new.

VHP has been issuing such guidelines every year, but politicians have waded into this controversy. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray asked, ‘Are VHP people the sole representatives of Hindus? Who are they to check Aadhar cards?” His father, Uddhav Thackeray went a step ahead. He described BJP and VHP leaders as ‘fake Hindus’ and cautioned that this could be part of a conspiracy to spread unrest.

Maharashtra minister Nitesh Rane hit out saying, “I demand that those who enter garba pandal must recite Hanuman Chalisa to establish that they are Hindus. If Muslims are desirous to join garba, let them do ‘ghar wapsi’ (homecoming) and become Hindus.”

Garba festival during Navratri is an occasion of joy and celebration. It is a festival where devotees dance and sing in the presence of goddess. Security arrangements are welcome, but why make such a hue and cry over “no entry to Muslims”? Nor is there any need for politics to enter.

Uddhav Thackeray made certain remarks and Nitesh Rana replied to it. This has left a bad taste. It will be better if the joyous festival of garba is left to the enthusiasm of devotees.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने वडोदरा में युवाओं से बात की. हजारों युवा हाथ में फोन लेकर खड़े थे. बीच में बने रैंप से मोदी की entry भी रॉकस्टार के स्टाइल में हुई. बैकग्राउंड में ‘धुरंधर’ फिल्म का गाना बज रहा था. पहली बार मोदी के प्रोग्राम का रजिस्ट्रेशन Book My Show online के ज़रिए हुआ. एक घंटे में सारी सीटें बुक हो गईं, 42 हजार युवा वेटिंग लिस्ट में थे. इसके बाद बुकिंग बंद करनी पड़ी.

मोदी ने कहा, देश के युवा अब ‘झूठ की गूंज’ के चक्कर में फंसने वाले नहीं हैं, फूफा मुंह फुलाए बैठे हैं, नकारात्मकता फैलाने लगे हैं, इससे कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ेगा, आत्मनिर्भरता की ओर भारत अपनी रफ्तार से आगे बढ़ता रहेगा. प्रधानमंत्री ने करीब 35 हज़ार करोड़ की योजनाओं का उद्घाटन और शिलान्यास किया. उनमें सबसे महत्वपूर्ण था, वडोदरा से मुंबई के जवाहर लाल पोर्ट ट्रस्ट तक dedicated freight corridor का उद्घाटन. इस रूट पर double stack container मालगाड़ी चलेगी.

मोदी ने कहा कि सरकार देश में world-class हाइवे और रेल रूट बना रही है, देश पूरी रफ्तार में दौड़ रहा है, लेकिन कुछ नाराज़ फूफा हैं, जो हर वक्त मुंह फुलाए बैठे रहते हैं, उन्हें हर अच्छे काम में कमी ढूंढने का रोग है. मोदी ने कहा कि कांग्रेस के ज़माने में सिर्फ घोषणाएं होती थीं, सारे ऐलान फाइलों में दबे रहते थे, लेकिन अब बुलेट ट्रेन की स्पीड से काम होता है, ये बात जिन लोगों को नहीं पचती, वो झूठ की गूंज का सहारा लेते हैं. कल वडोदरा में और उससे पहले SRCC में ये तो साफ दिखाई दिया कि मोदी young minds से सीधे connect करने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं.

मोदी को इस बात का एहसास है कि पहले पेपर लीक, फिर परीक्षा कैंसिल और अब छात्रों के रहने की हालत जैसी समस्याओं ने युवाओं को परेशान किया है. मोदी ने युवाओं को विश्वास दिलाया कि वो इन समस्याओं से वाकिफ हैं, जंतर-मंतर पर प्रोटेस्ट करने वालों की सारी मांगें मान ली गईं. परीक्षा प्रणाली को दुरुस्त बनाने के लिए एक्सपर्ट कमेटी काम में लगी है. दिल्ली में गैरकानूनी तरीके से बनी इमारतों पर बुलडोजर चलना शुरू हो गया है. इसके साथ-साथ मोदी छात्रों और युवाओं को ये भी बताते हैं कि किसी ‘फूफाजी’ की बातों में आने की ज़रूरत नहीं है. नाराज़ होना ‘फूफाजी’ की आदत हो गई है. उन्हें तो हर बात नेगेटिव नज़र आती है.

मोदी का युवाओं से connect का एक और point ये भी है कि वह AI, IT, space, data centre, semiconductor जैसे नए ज़माने के sectors को लेकर अपना action plan बताते हैं, अपनी सरकार की रफ़्तार का ज़िक्र करते हैं और नौजवानों को यक़ीन दिलाते हैं कि आने वाले दिनों में और भी बड़े अवसर मिलेंगे. मोदी ने Youth India से connect करना कोई अभी शुरू नहीं किया. वो बरसों से परीक्षा पर चर्चा करते रहे हैं, खिलाड़ियों के साथ interaction करते रहे हैं. दिलचस्प बात ये है कि मोदी ने युवाओं से उन्हीं की भाषा में बात करना सीख लिया है. इसका असर दिखाई देगा.

दिल्ली में एक्शन शुरू, लेकिन परेशान छात्रों के रहने का इंतज़ाम कैसे होगा?

दिल्ली के सत्य निकेतन में पीजी हॉस्टल की बिल्डिंग गिरने के बाद सरकार एक्शन में आ गई है. आज दो और गिरफ्तारियां हुईं. पीजी चलाने वाले ऑपरेटर और ठेकेदार को पुलिस ने गिरफ्तार कर लिया. आज ही इस इमारत से सटी दूसरी बिल्डिंग को गिराने का काम भी शुरू हो गया. दिल्ली सरकार राजधानी में चल रहे हॉस्टल्स और PG को रेगुलेट करने के लिए नया कानून बनाएगी. नए कानून का ड्राफ्ट शहरी विकास मंत्री आशीष सूद की अध्यक्षता में एक कमेटी तैयार करेगी.

नया PG कानून दो महीने के भीतर विधानसभा में पेश होगा. इस बीच लक्ष्मी नगर, ललिता पार्क, शकरपुर में हॉस्टल्स और PGs का इंस्पेक्शन शुरू हो गया है. नगर निगम के अफसर हर हॉस्टल में जाकर फायर एनओसी, हॉस्टल की परमिशन से जुड़े कागजात देख रहे हैं और बिल्डिंग की मजबूती का जायजा ले रहे हैं. जो बिल्डिंग कमजोर हैं, उनको सील किया जा रहा है. MCD के जूनियर इंजीनियर जब एक हॉस्टल में पहुंचे तो वहां देखा, हर फ्लोर पर दस-दस कमरे बनाए गए थे, हर कमरे में तीन-तीन बेड लगाए गए थे, दो रूम के बीच दीवार ही नहीं थी, प्लाइवुड से हर रूम का पार्टिशन बना हुआ था. MCD ने कल ही 35 PG को नोटिस दे दिये. अगर इन हॉस्टल्स में व्यवस्थाएं नहीं सुधरीं तो इन्हें सील किया जाएगा.

MCD के अफसरों ने तीन जोन्स में चलने वाले प्राइवेट हॉस्टल्स और PGs पर रेड की. 51 इमारतों को खतरनाक पाया, इनमें से 27 इमारतों को तुरंत तोड़ने के आदेश जारी किए गए. मुश्किल ये है कि PG और हॉस्टल्स के मालिक इस तरह की खतरनाक इमारतों को भी तोड़ने के लिए तैयार नहीं हैं. कई इलाकों में MCD के अफसरों को हॉस्टल चलाने वालों के विरोध का सामना करना पड़ा. इस वक्त सबसे ज्यादा मुसीबत उन छात्रों के लिए है जो खतरनाक पीजी इमारतों में रह नहीं सकते और तुरंत दूसरा रूम मिलना आसान नहीं है. छात्रों ने जो पैसा एडवांस के तौर पर जमा किया था, पीजी मालिक वो पैसा लौटाने से इनकार कर रहे हैं.

पिछले तीन दिन में हमने देखा कि दिल्ली में hostels सीमित हैं और छात्र डिब्बों जैसे कमरों में रहने को मजबूर हैं. दूसरी बात, जहां वो रहते हैं वो इमारतें ख़तरनाक हैं, कभी भी गिर सकती हैं, वहां न ventilation है, न बचाव का इंतज़ाम, पर किराया मनमाना वसूला जा रहा है. तीसरी बात ये कि ये सब अब तक इसलिए चलता रहा क्योंकि इस लूट में पूरा सिस्टम शामिल था. अब अगर सरकार, MCD, पुलिस की आंखें खुली हैं और एक्शन होता है, तो ये अच्छी बात है लेकिन सत्य निकेतन के पाप को isolation में नहीं देखा जाना चाहिए. एक तो ऐसी इमारतों के ख़िलाफ़, वो जिस भी इलाके में हों, बुलडोज़र वाला एक्शन हो, साथ-साथ एक plan भी बने कि दिल्ली आकर रहने वाले छात्रों के लिए रहने का इंतज़ाम क्या हो.

महाराष्ट्र : गरबा पर राजनीति क्यों?

महाराष्ट्र में नवरात्र शुरू होने से पहले विश्व हिंदू परिषद ने सामूहिक गरबा के organizers के लिए गाइडलाइन्स जारी की है. इसमें गरबा पंडालों में मुसलमानों को प्रवेश न देने के लिए कहा गया है, गरबा में आने वालों का आधार कार्ड चेक होगा, आधार कार्ड दिखाने के बाद पंडाल में जाने वाले सभी लोगों को कलावा बांधा जाएगा, तिलक लगाया जाएगा. VHP के प्रवक्ता ने कहा कि गरबा नवरात्र के दौरान एक धार्मिक उत्सव है, जिसमें देवी की मूर्ति की पूजा पाठ होता है, ये आस्था से जुड़ा मामला है, कोई मनोरंजन की जगह नहीं है.

विश्व हिन्दू परिषद के लोग हर साल इस तरह की गाइडलाइन्स जारी करते हैं, ये कोई नई बात नहीं है. नई बात ये है कि पहली बार उद्धव ठाकरे की शिवसेना ने VHP की इस मुहिम का विरोध किया. आदित्य ठाकरे ने कहा कि विश्व हिंदू परिषद के लोग क्या हिन्दुत्व के ठेकेदार हैं? वो आधार कार्ड चेक करने वाले कौन होते हैं ? उद्धव ठाकरे ने विश्व हिन्दू परिषद और बीजेपी के लोगों को नकली हिन्दू करार दिया, कहा, ये सब गड़बड़ी की साजिश का हिस्सा है. महाराष्ट्र के मंत्री नीतेश राणे ने करारा जवाब दिया. कहा कि वह तो चाहते हैं, गरबा पंडाल में आने वालों से हनुमान चालीसा का पाठ भी कराया जाए, जिन मुसलमानों को गरबा पंडाल में आने का बहुत शौक है, वो पहले घर वापसी करें, हिंदू बनें.

नवरात्र के समय गरबा उत्सव और उल्लास का प्रतीक है. नृत्य और संगीत के साथ देवी की आराधना का उत्सव है, हंसी-खुशी का अवसर है. इसमें सुरक्षा का ध्यान रखा जाए वो ठीक है पर मुसलमानों की no entry का शोर मचाने की क्या ज़रूरत ? इसमें राजनीति घुसाने की आवश्यकता है? उद्धव ठाकरे ने बयान दिया, नीतेश राणे ने जवाब दिया. इसी चक्कर में गरबा का मज़ा किरकिरा हो गया. अगर गरबा के उत्सव को सिर्फ़ उत्साह पर छोड़ दिया जाए तो अच्छा होगा.

What happened in Satya Niketan, Delhi on Sunday afternoon, makes one angry and sad. A greedy landlord and a corrupt system took the lives of seven students.

Akshat from Katni, Madhya Pradesh, wanted to crack the Civil Services exam, Arpit from Dewas, MP, had returned to Delhi on Sunday after celebrating Rakshabandhan in his family, Yuvraj from Durg, Chhattisgarh, Abhishek from Sonbhadra, UP, and Pawan from Auraiya, UP, had come to Delhi with lofty dreams. They are no more.

Built like matchboxes on 50 sq. yard plots in former resettlement colonies; owners of these PG homes collect rent varying from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000 from each student by providing bed and meals in dingy rooms. The building that collapsed had permission to build only a ground and first floor, but the owners extended it up to four floors.

The owner was nabbed from Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, after he fled from Gurugram. His wife was arrested and sent to jail. His son, who was managing the PG, is now in police custody. Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta suspended five officials of Municipal Corporation of Delhi. These include a deputy commissioner, an executive engineer and a junior engineer.

But is this action adequate? Who will give solace to the parents of those students who died and those who are battling death in hospitals? For how long will the people of Delhi face such tragedies? Who are the real culprits? Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has promised to carry out a detailed audit of all such illegally built structures across Delhi.

She said, accountability of officials will be fixed. It is good that Delhi government is in action mode, but the ground reality is that, after each tragedy, actions are taken and it is back to square one. In the last four years, 133 such tragedies occurred in Delhi, 1133 buildings collapses and more than 100 people died. Actions were taken against erring officials, probe was ordered but construction of illegal structures continued.

Satya Niketan is not alone. There are many localities in Delhi chock-a-block with PG accommodation, like Mukherjee Nagar, Govindpuri, Sant Nagar and Rajendra Nagar. University students live in dingy rooms and the street outside are hardly three to four feet wide. In some localities, owners have built 7 to 8 storied buildings. These are nothing but invitation to disaster.

In localities adjoining big hospitals, guest houses have sprung up for relatives of patients who come from far and wide for better treatment. Chemist shops, diagnostic centres, dhabas and other shops have sprung up in these congested localities. Every rule in the building code book is violated. Fire incidents have occurred and the basement and ground floor of such buildings were flooded during heavy rains. These structures are ready to collapse anytime.

When disaster strikes, fire brigade and healthcare providers find it difficult to enter these narrow lanes. PG and guest house businesses run smoothly in clear collusion with local police and MCD officials. Builders and corrupt officials share the booty that is earned from students and relatives of patients.

Whenever tragedies occur, action is taken, but after a few weeks, it is back to square one. Merely, one-time action is not sufficient. A timebound masterplan is needed to provide better accommodation to students who come to Delhi for education.

Illicit liquor mafia: Who gives them protection?

In Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, the death toll in the hooch tragedy has gone up to 22, with nearly 160 people still battling for their lives in hospitals. Many of them are in critical condition. Most of them consumed liquor from a single brand.

Police have arrested ten persons, cases have been lodged against 20 accused. Methanol was mixed in place of ethanol to make this liquor, which, in itself, is a lethal one. Methanol is commonly used as a solvent for oil paint, as fuel, and for making other chemicals. An assistant excise commissioner, a district excise officer and excise sub-inspector have been suspended. Those suspended are not ready to accept their culpability.

These officials say, their job was to test liquor sold at government outlets, and it is the duty of local police to check if poisonous liquor is being sold. Like illegally constructed buildings, sale of illicit hooch takes place in collusion with local police and officials. The local mafia and officials make a killing, but people from poorer sections of society become victims.

It is good that the Madhya Pradesh government is now in action mode. Large quantities of illicit liquor have been seized from Gwalior and Indore, but these raids should not end. The action must continue. Since the turnover of liquor business runs into crores of rupees, the hooch mafia is strong. Consistent action against the mafia is the need of the hour.

In Gujarat, where there is prohibition, a factory manufacturing illicit liquor was sealed in Morbi. The owner was preparing liquor by mixing lethal chemicals and colour and selling them in empty bottles of branded whiskey by affixing fake stickers. Police seized nearly 400 litres of alcohol and several hundred litres of illicit liquor. 1,400 empty bottles of branded liquor and stickers of several popular brands were seized. The factory has been sealed and five persons nabbed.

दिल्ली के सत्य निकेतन में जो हुआ, उसे लेकर दुख भी है और गुस्सा भी. एक लालची मकान मालिक और भ्रष्ट व्यवस्था ने सात छात्रों की जान ले ली. मध्य प्रदेश के कटनी से आया अक्षत IAS की तैयारी कर रहा था. देवास का अर्पित रक्षाबंधन मनाकर उसी दिन सुबह दिल्ली लौटा था. दुर्ग का युवराज ऊंची शिक्षा के लिए दिल्ली आया था. यूपी के सोनभद्र का अभिषेक दिल्ली के कॉलेज में पढ़ाई करने आया था. ओरैया के पवन का पढ़कर कुछ बनने का सपना चूर-चूर हो गया.

ये सब माचिस की डिबिया जैसी बनी इमारतों के खतरनाक कमरों में बसर करने को मजबूर थे. एक-एक छात्र 20-20 हजार रुपये महीना दे रहा था. PG hostel के नाम पर मौत के कुएं में ये बच्चे रह रहे थे. जो इमारत गिरी, उसे ग्राउंड फ्लोर के अलावा सिर्फ एक फ्लोर बनाने की परमिशन थी लेकिन इसमें 4 floors बनाए गए थे. पुलिस ने मकान मालिक को भिवाड़ी से गिरफ्तार किया. मकान पत्नी के नाम से था, उसे भी गिरफ्तार किया गया. उसका बेटा पीजी चला रहा था, उसे भी पुलिस ने हिरासत में लिया.

दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने दिल्ली नगर निगम के डिप्टी कमिशनर और Executive Engineer समेत कुल पांच अफसरों को सस्पेंड कर दिया. लेकिन क्या ये एक्शन काफी है ? क्या इससे उन मां-बाप का दर्द कम हो सकता है जिन्होंने अपने जवान बेटों को खोया ? दिल्ली में ऐसे हादसे कब तक होते रहेंगे ? इन हादसों के गुनहगार कौन हैं ?

दिल्ली सरकार एक्शन में है, अच्छी बात है, लेकिन जब भी कोई हादसा होता है तो इसी तरह की कार्रवाई दिखती है और कुछ दिन बाद मामला ठंडा पड़ जाता है. सब कुछ पुराने ढर्रे पर चलने लगता है. दिल्ली में पिछले चार साल में ऐसे 133 हादसे हुए, 1133 इमारतें गिरी, 100 से ज़्यादा लोगों की मौत हुई है लेकिन हर बार कुछ अफसरों का निलम्बन और जांच का एलान होता है. लेकिन अवैध इमारतें बनती रहती हैं. मौत का बाज़ार सिर्फ सत्य निकेतन नहीं है. दिल्ली में खतरनाक PG भरे पड़े हैं.

मुखर्जी नगर, गोविंदपुरी, संत नगर, राजेंद्र नगर जैसे तमाम इलाके हैं जहां छात्र खतरनाक इमारतों मे रहते हैं तीन-चार फीट चौड़ी सड़कें, कहीं-कहीं तो 7-8 मंजिलों वाली इमारतें, यहां मौत का तांडव कभी भी हो सकता है. ये जगहें खासतौर पर छात्रों को किराये पर दी जाती है. जहां-जहां अस्पताल हैं, उनके आसपास मरीजों के रिश्तेदारों के लिए गेस्ट हाउस बना दिए गए हैं, जिनके चारों तरफ केमिस्ट की दुकानें और diagnostic centres मिलेंगे. जहां छात्रों के PG और मरीज़ों के रिश्तेदारों के गेस्ट हाउस होते हैं, वहां ढाबे, दुकानें खुल जाती हैं. तंग गलियों में हाकर्स डेरा डाल लेते हैं.

इन बिल्डिंग्स में हर नियम का उल्लंघन होता है, कभी भी आग लग सकती है, पानी भर सकता है, इमारत भरभरा कर गिर सकती है. हादसा हो जाए तो न फायर ब्रिगेड पहुंच पाएगी, न एम्बुलेंस. ये धंधा बड़े आराम से चलता है, क्योंकि इसमें स्थानीय नेता, लोकल पुलिस, नगर निगम के अफसर सब मिले होते हैं, मौत के कारोबार की कमाई मिल-बांटकर खाते हैं. कभी एक्शन हो जाए तो कुछ ही दिन बाद इमारत फिर से खड़ी हो जाती है.

इस खतरनाक माफिया को खत्म करने के लिए one time action से काम नहीं चलेगा. इसके लिए तो अलग से एक long term मास्टर प्लान बनाना पड़ेगा ताकि छात्रों को रहने की डगह भी मिल जाय और खतरा भी टल जा.

शराब माफिया: किसके संरक्षण में पलता है?

मध्य प्रदेश के सागर जिले में जहरीली शराब पीने से मरने वालों की संख्या 22 तक पहुंच गई है. अभी भी करीब 160 लोगों का अस्पताल में इलाज चल रहा है. इनमें से बहुत से लोगों की हालत गंभीर है. सभी लोगों ने एक ही ब्रांड की शराब पी थी. पुलिस ने 20 लोगों के खिलाफ केस दर्ज किया, दस लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया.

शराब में एथेनॉल की जगह मेथेनॉल मिलाया गया था, जो कि जानलेवा होता है. इसका इस्तेमाल ऑयल पेन्ट के साल्वेंट के तौर पर, फ्यूल और कुछ केमिकल्स बनाने में होता है. सहायक आबकारी कमिशनर, सहायक जिला आबकारी अधिकारी और आबकारी सब-इंसप्केटर को सस्पेंड किया गया. जो अफसर सस्पेंड हुए हैं वो अपनी गलती मानने को तैयार नहीं है.

उनका कहना है कि उनकी जिम्मेदारी सरकारी ठेकों पर बिकने वाली शराब को टेस्ट करना है, लेकिन अगर कोई जहरीली शराब बेच रहा है, तो ये देखना पुलिस का काम है, आबकारी विभाग का नहीं. गैरकानूनी इमारतों की तरह जहरीली शराब का धंधा भी स्थानीय पुलिस और अफसरों की मदद से चलता है. इसमें भी जबरदस्त कमाई होती है, गरीबों की मौत होती है.

ये ठीक है कि मध्य प्रदेश सरकार एक्शन में आई है. ग्वालियर और इंदौर में भी गैरकानूनी शराब बड़ी तादाद में पकड़ी गई है पर ये एक्शन थोड़े दिन में बंद नहीं हो जाना चाहिए. कारोबार करोड़ों का है, माफिया ताकतवर है. इसके लिए लगातार एक्शन की ज़रूरत है. ऐसी ही एक एक्शन की खबर गुजरात से आई. गुजरात में शराबबंदी है लेकिन मोरबी में नकली शराब बनाने की फैक्ट्री चल रही थी.

शराब माफिया यहां खतरनाक कैमिकल्स और कलर मिलाकर नकली शराब तैयार करते थे और उसे branded whiskey की खाली बोलतों में भरकर बेच देते थे. पुलिस को 400 लीटर एल्कोहल और सैकड़ों लीटर नकली शराब मिली. शराब की 1400 खाली बोतलें और अलग अलग ब्रैंड्स के स्टिकर मिले. पुलिस ने फैक्ट्री को सील कर शराब माफिया से जुड़े पांच लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया है, लेकिन यहां भी लगातार सतर्क रहने की जरूरत है.

The miraculous rescue of two personnel of Nepal Electricity Authority from a deep hydropower tunnel 10 days after the devastating flood, has surprised many. Thirty-year-old mechanical foreman Sanjay Sah and 45-year-old mechanical supervisor Kabir Maharjan were rescued alive from Trishuli 3A hydropower tunnel.

The tunnel was filled with mud and huge boulders and the two were trapped without food, water and fresh air. Sanjay Sah said, for ten days, he and his associates prayed to God chanting ‘Hare Rama, Hare Krishna’ mantra. Rescue teams are now optimistic of saving several others among the 40 personnel still trapped inside. How did the two survive despite lack of food, drinking water and proper ventilation?

Experts say that Sah and Maharjan were trapped inside what is called the Goldilocks Zone, built at a height which is favourable for survival when disaster strikes. This portion is built for maintenance purpose, where air flow is good. Three tunnels of the hydro power project are filled with mud and debris, and experts from Nepalese army, Indian army, Chinese army and Korean armed forces are carrying out rescue operations.

Famous Australian geologist Arnold Dix has also joined rescue efforts. Arnold Dix was the key person who helped rescue 41 construction workers trapped inside Silkyara tunnel in November 2023 in Uttarakhand. Ecstatic relatives of Sah and Maharjan are least interested in technical details. They have heaved a sigh of relief after seeing Sanjay and Kabir alive after a suspense of 10 days. There are hopes of survival for others too. Indian Army’s special tunnel rescue unit provided crucial assistance during the rescue efforts. It is a happy coincidence that the two got a new life on the auspicious day of Krishna Janmashtami.

Yogi promises to transform Mathura, Vrindavan like Ayodhya

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath offered Janmashtami prayers at the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura amidst festivities across the entire Braj hinterland. After showering flower petals on crowds of devotees, Yogi addressed them and promised to transform Mathura, Gokul, Vrindavan and Barsana like Ayodhya and Kashi. At the same time, Yogi hit out at “Sanatan virodhis” and predicted they would meet the same fate as king Kansa of Mathura. “Those who support Aurangzeb and Babar are getting the results of their actions”, he added.

In recent years, there has been a marked improvement in the restoration of famous shrines in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath and Mahakal in Ujjain. These places are ready to handle huge surge of devotees during sacred festivals. Mathura and Vrindavan had been lagging behind in development. I visited the famous Banke Bihari temple in Vrindaban a few months ago. It was literally difficult to wade through huge crowds surging through narrow roads and monkeys snatching food and other edibles from devotees. The conditions in Mathura and Barsana are no better. It was in this context that Yogi has vowed to change the face of Braj region. If these holy towns get a facelift, religious tourism will increase and the local people will get new modes of earning.

Bickering between members of Sharad Pawar’s family has started again with Supriya Sule, the patriarch’s daughter, questioning why NCP (Ajit) leaders are silent about the progress of probe into the air crash in which Ajit Dada Pawar was killed on February 28 this year. In her blunt remarks, Supriya Sule said, it appears NCP leaders are least interested in finding out the exact causes of the air crash.

Supriya Sule said, NCP leaders are silent about the air crash and nobody is not even trying to find out the progress that has been made in the probe till now. “On one hand, I have lost my brother and leaders in Ajit Dada’s party are busy enjoying the perks of power”, Supriya Sule said. Ajit Pawar’s widow and Maharashtra deputy chief minister Sunetra Pawar immediately responded. She said, “people should refrain from politicizing Ajit Dada’s death. We should give some time to probe agencies to finish their investigation.” “I have lost my husband and my sons have lost their father. I understand the pain of my family. I am personally monitoring the probe. It will be better if people refrain from making unnecessary comments”, Sunetra Pawar said.

Supriya Sule and Sunetra Pawar contested against each other in Baramati. Their dispute is old, but as long as Ajit Dada was alive, he did not let the family break apart. He left Sharad Pawar’s political tutelage, formed his own party, but he never spoiled his relations with his uncle. Supriya, too, always addressed Ajit Pawar as ‘dada’ and never uttered any remark against him. The Pawar family built a good image in Maharashtra. There may be political differences, but personal relationships must not end. But now, it appears, after the passing away of Ajit Dada, old wounds are being reopened, which is not good for the family.

कन्हैया के जन्मदिन पर नेपाल में चमत्कार हुआ. नेपाल में 170 मीटर की गहराई में बनी सुरंग के भीतर दस दिन से फंसे दो पनबिजली कर्मियों को कल जिंदा बाहर निकाला गया. जहां सूरज की रोशनी भी नहीं पहुंच रही थी, पूरी सुरंग में कीचड़ भरा था, न पीने को पानी था, न खाना, न सांस लेने को हवा, ऐसे में भी दस दिन तक जिंदा बचे रहना, किसी चमत्कार से कम नहीं है.

जिस जगह तक पहुंचने में बचाव दल दस दिन तक दिन रात मेहनत करने के बाद भी एक छोटा सा रास्ता बना पाया, वहां कोई इंसान दस दिन तक जिंदा कैसे रहा, ये सोचकर रेस्क्यू ऑपरेशन्स के एक्सपर्ट्स भी हैरान हैं. लेकिन जो लोग बचे, उनका कहना है कि सब प्रभु की माया है. वो दस दिन तक महामंत्र हरे कृष्ण का जाप करते रहे और ईश्वर की कृपा से उन्हें नई जिंदगी मिली. अब बचाव दल की उम्मीद जगी है क्योंकि इसी सुरंग में अभी कम से कम चालीस लोग और फंसे हैं. बचाव का काम और तेज कर दिया गया है. क्योंकि हो सकता है, फिर चमत्कार हो.

तीस साल के संजय साह को दस दिन के बाद कीचड़ और मलबे से भरी टनल से सुरक्षित बाहर निकाला गया और उसके बाद 45 साल के कबीर महर्जन भी सही सलामत निकले. ये लोग 26 अगस्त को आई विनाशकारी बाढ़ के बाद से ही त्रिशूली 3-A टनल में फंसे थे. न किसी को इनकी लोकेशन मालूम थी, न किसी तरह का कोई संपर्क था. किसी को ये भी नहीं पता था कि सुरंग के भीतर फंसे लोगों में कोई जिंदा भी है या नहीं. दस दिन बीत चुके थे, टनल में न हवा थी, न पानी, न खाना था. लेकिन संजय साह और कबीर महर्जन के पास जीने की अदम्य इच्छा और भगवान पर भरोसा था. इसी के सहारे इन लोगों की सांसें चलती रहीं. ये दोनों नेपाल इलेक्ट्रिसिटी अथॉरिटी के कर्मचारी हैं.

संजय साह मैकेनिकल फोरमैन हैं और कबीर महर्जन मैकेनिकल सुपरवाइज़र. संजय साह त्रिशूली 3-A हाइड्रो पावर प्रोजेक्ट के कंट्रोल रूम में काम कर रहे थे. कंट्रोल रूम में होने की वजह से खतरे की चेतावनी सबसे पहले उन्हें ही मिली. संजय साह के पास भागने का वक्त था लेकिन उन्होंने अपने साथियों को आगाह किया, उन्हें बाहर जाने को कहा, बहुत से लोग निकल गए, लेकिन जब तक संजय साह सुरंग से निकलते, तब तक देर हो चुकी थी. पूरी सुरंग में कीचड़ और भारी भरकम पत्थरों का मलबा भर चुका था. दस दिन बाद संजय साह ने सूरज की रोशनी देखी. हैरानी की बात ये है कि संजय के शरीर के सारे vital parameters ठीक थे लेकिन दस दिन भूखा-प्यासा रहने की वजह से वह कमजोर हो गए हैं. संजय ने कहा, मेरे आसपास 6 लोग थे और हम लगातार एक-दूसरे से बात कर रहे थे, इस मुश्किल घड़ी में भी हमने हिम्मत नहीं हारी, हम लगातार महामंत्र (हरे कृष्ण) का जाप कर रहे थे और भगवान से प्रार्थना कर रहे थे कि हमें बचा दो.

यहां पर सबसे बड़ा सवाल है कि 10 दिन तक सुरंग में फंसे इन दोनों ने कैसे खुद को बचाया. विशेषज्ञों का कहना है कि टनल के जिस हिस्से को मेंटेनेंस के लिए बनाया जाता है, इस ऊपरी हिस्से में जो लोग होंगे, उनके बचे रहने की पूरी संभावना है क्योंकि यहां एयर का फ्लो बना रहता है. नेपाल के हाइड्रो पावर प्रोजेक्ट की तीन सुरंगों में मलबा भरा है, यहां रेस्क्यू ऑपरेशन चल रहा है. नेपाली सेना, भारतीय सेना, चीनी और कोरियन सेनाओं के लोग इस बचाव अभियान में लगे हैं. ऑस्ट्रेलियन जियोलॉजिस्ट अर्नोल्ड डिक्स की मदद भी ली गई है. अर्नोल्ड डिक्स वही इंजीनियर हैं, जिन्होंने उत्तराखंड की सिल्क्यारा सुरंग में फंसे 41 मजदूरों को निकालने वाली टीम का नेतृत्व किया था.

अर्नोल्ड ने कहा कि जो दो लोग टनल से सुरक्षित निकले वो टनल के गोल्डलॉक्स जोन में थे, क्योंकि किसी दुर्घटना के वक्त यही जोन सबसे सुरक्षित होता है. गोल्डलॉक्स जोन टनल के सबसे ऊपरी हिस्से में होता है. इसे इस तरह डिजाइन किया जाता है जिससे अंदर की हालत जीने के लिए योग्य हो. रेस्क्यूअर्स ने सबसे पहले इसी जोन तक पहुंचने का रास्ता खोजा. संजय साह और कबीर महर्जन के परिवार वालों को इन टेक्निकल बातों से कोई मतलब नहीं. उन्हें तो बस इस बात की खुशी है कि उनके परिजन सुरक्षित निकल आए और जो लोग टनल में फंसे हैं,उनके जिंदा होने की उम्मीद भी जगी है. इस काम में भारतीय सेना की स्पेशल टनल रेस्क्यू यूनिट की कुशलता बहुत काम आई. नया जीवन पाने वालों ने कहा कि वो लगातार महामंत्र हरे रामा, हरे कृष्णा का जाप कर रहे थे. संयोग देखिए कि कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी के दिन उन्होंने सूरज की किरण देखी, नया जीवन पाया.

योगी का वादा : मथुरा, वृंदावन को अयोध्या जैसा चमकाएंगे

उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने मथुरा के कृष्ण जन्मभूमि मंदिर में जन्माष्टमी मनाई. योगी ने भक्तों पर फूलों की बारिश की, कहा कि वे निश्चिंत हो जाएं, अयोध्या, काशी के बाद अब मथुरा की बारी है. उनकी सरकार अयोध्या, काशी की तरह कृष्ण जन्मभूमि को भी चमकाएगी. योगी ने कहा कि उनकी सरकार ब्रज क्षेत्र में द्वापर युग जैसा ही वैभव लौटाएगी, मथुरा, वृंदावन, गोकुल, बरसाना समेत पूरे ब्रज क्षेत्र का विकास करेगी. योगी ने सनातन विरोधियों पर हमला किया. कहा कि जो औरंगजेब और बाबर के समर्थक हैं, जो हिन्दुओं की आस्था की अनदेखी करते हैं, उन्हें अपने कर्मों का फल मिल रहा है, जनता ने उन्हें गर्त में पहुंचा दिया है. जो सनातन का विरोध करेंगे उन्हें कंस जैसी दुर्गति प्राप्त होगी.

जन्माष्टमी के अवसर पर मंदिरों में जिस तरह की धूम है उससे एक बात तो पक्की हो जाती है कि चाहे शिवरात्रि हो, रामनवमी हो या जन्माष्टमी, हर त्योहार पर मंदिरों में जाने वाले भक्तों की संख्या लगातार बढ़ने लगी है. अयोध्या राम मंदिर, काशी विश्वनाथ..महाकाल जैसे मंदिरों का पुनर्निर्माण हुआ है. .व्यवस्था में सुधार हुआ है. वहां कितनी भी भीड़ हो..उसे हैंडल किया जा सकता है, लेकिन मथुरा वृंदावन इस मामले में काफी पीछे हैं. कुछ महीने पहले मैंने भी वृंदावन जा कर बांके बिहारी के दर्शन किए थे. इतनी भीड़ थी कि पार पाना मुश्किल था. मंदिर के रास्ते में बंदरों का डर था. मथुरा और बरसाना की हालत भी अच्छी नहीं है. इसीलिए योगी ने कहा कि पूरे ब्रज क्षेत्र में वैभव की छटा बिखरेगी. अगर इस इलाके का विकास होता है तो ना केवल दुनिया भर से आने वाले भक्तों के लिए भगवान का दर्शन करना आसान हो जाएगा बल्कि इस क्षेत्र में रोजगार के अवसर भी बढ़ेंगे, आर्थिक संपन्नता के रास्ते खुलेंगे.

पवार परिवार : सुप्रिया, सुनेत्रा ने क्यों एक दूसरे को निशाने पर लिया?

महाराष्ट्र में अब शरद पवार के परिवार के भीतर का टकराव खुल कर सामने आ गया है. शरद पवार की बेटी सुप्रिया सुले ने कल कहा कि ऐसा लग रहा है जैसे अजित दादा (अजित पवार) की मौत का सच जानने में NCP के नेताओं को कोई दिलचस्पी नहीं है. 28 फरवरी को विमान दुर्घटना में अजित पवार का निधन हो गया था. रोहित पवार और सुप्रिया सुले लगातार इस विमान दुर्घटना पर सवाल उठा रहे हैं, FIR दर्ज कर जांच की मांग कर रहे हैं.

सुप्रिया सुले ने कहा कि अजित पवार के निधन के मामले में NCP के सारे नेता खामोश हैं. कोई ये जानने की कोशिश नहीं कर रहा है कि विमान हादसे की जांच कहां तक पहुंची. सुप्रिया सुले ने कहा कि उन्होंने अपना भाई खोया और अजित पवार की पार्टी के नेता सत्ता का सुख भोगने में मशगूल हैं. सुप्रिया सुले के बयान पर अजित पवार की पत्नी और महाराष्ट्र की डिप्टी सीएम सुनेत्रा पवार ने कहा कि अजित दादा के निधन पर राजनीति नहीं होनी चाहिए, .जांच एजेंसियों को थोड़ा वक्त तो देना पड़ेगा. सुनेत्रा ने कहा कि उन्होंने पति खोया है, उनके बेटों ने पिता को खोया है, परिवार का दर्द वही जानती हैं, वो खुद पूरी जांच को मॉनिटर कर रही हैं, इसलिए इस मामले में गलत बातें न की जाए तो बेहतर होगा.

सुप्रिया सुले और सुनेत्रा पवार ने बारामती में एक दूसरे के खिलाफ चुनाव लड़ा था. दोनों का झगड़ा पुराना है लेकिन जब तक अजित दादा जिंदा थे उन्होंने परिवार टूटने नहीं दिया, शरद पवार को छोड़कर अपनी पार्टी बना ली लेकिन चाचा से रिश्ते खराब नहीं किए. सुप्रिया ने भी उन्हें हमेशा दादा कहकर पुकारा और कभी उनके खिलाफ कुछ नहीं कहा. महाराष्ट्र में पवार परिवार की एक अच्छी छवि बनी. चाहे राजनीतिक मतभेद हों, पर व्यक्तिगत रिश्ते टूटने नहीं चाहिए लेकिन अब लगता है कि अजित दादा के जाने के बाद पुराने जख्म कुरेदे जा रहे हैं, जो परिवार के लिए अच्छा नहीं है.
